"Google parent Alphabet was off more than 3% while the trade desk fell more than 8% end quote. So again, this wasn't even earnings. Business for snap has turned south so quickly that they had to preemptively announce halfway between earnings reports that yeah, next quarter earnings are going to be a disaster. And remember, we had lauded snap on here. Three, 6 months ago, as having been emblematic as a turnaround success story, and again, they just reported earnings a mere four weeks ago. So things got so bad in just a few weeks that they had to pull the emergency ripcord. The progression of snap's revenue growth just from the beginning of the year was 44% growth between January 1st and February 23rd. From February 24th to March 31st, that inch down to 32%, then march 31st to April 21st, down to 30%, and now they're reporting, or at least estimating that from April 21 to June 30th, revenue is only going to grow 17%. So their earnings estimate growth numbers have been cut at least in half a little bit more. Oh, and one more thing. You know what company is the closest comparable business to snap? Twitter. Quoting tarot quinnen on Twitter, quote snap down now more than 29% revising revenue projections after four weeks has that August 2000 vibe. Twitter is likely to miss sales estimates by a mile. O Elon, your timing, end quote. When.

Fresh update on "iphone" discussed on Mac OS Ken

"Early hiring spree, take two. Early this month, we heard word that Foxconn was hiring a surprisingly large number of people, the hiring was happening at the company's iPhone city plant in zhengzhou. While Foxconn would be expected to hire a huge number of people ahead of the iPhone 14 launch, this felt early for that. Still, some thought that's what the hiring was for, while others thought it was simply Apple slash Foxconn, trying to keep up with current demand. We barely had time to wonder about it. The very next day Foxconn ended the big hiring push and actually had two thanks to a resurgence of COVID-19 cases in the city and orders of lockdowns to quell that search. Early hiring spree, take two. According to a piece from Apple insider, Foxconn's hiring of staff at its biggest iPhone factory in China is taking place early in preparation for the iPhone 14 after Apple requested for the assembly partner to onboard more workforce members two months ahead of usual. Citing a report from UDN, the piece says the effort is to ensure they're sufficient men power on hand to build iPhone 14 and the minimize the impact of local closures and supply chain disruptions from further lockdowns. Interestingly, UDN sources seem to think the early hiring means apple is actually ready to start producing iPhone 14. Or will be two months ahead of usual. According to the piece, the sources believe that under apple's current concerns for production capacity, the company is aiming to stock up on iPhone 14, at least two months earlier for 2022, with more than 30 million units expected to be produced. So I guess we're just going to go ahead and start talking about iPhone 14 then. Macs are still hard to get from Apple, though you might get lucky shopping around. That is the latest word from 9 to 5 Mac. And late April, we heard word that people who had custom ordered MacBook pros in late February were seeing those orders pushed out to June. In May 9 to 5 mag said some late February orders were pushing out to July, now the latest piece on the issue from the sites as the stock 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro notebooks are shipping as late as the 28th of July and direct from Apple if you upgrade any component like the M1 pro max chip, ram or storage, the shipping time slips to as late as the 8th of August. It's hard to see how that could be of apple is still pushing February orders to July, but what do I know? Here's what's really interesting. According to the report availability is the worst directly from.

CEO Devin Nunes Shares the Latest Updates About Truth Social

"He is the CEO of president Trump's new platform true social. Devin Nunes, welcome back to America first. Sea bass, it's great to be with you. I think, and this is my first time in this new role, I believe, or second time, maybe. I think second time, I thought you were very fresh, I think we had you on just after the announcement. And now we've got a big breaking news day. So first things first, how's it going on true social? We played the president's clip from Saturday that the waiting list has been decimated. This is, we're going to have your former chief investigator, cash Patel on. He says it is functioning in such a way that's incomparable for conservatives just the re engagement on true social talk to us about how the platforms functioning. Well, I think everybody sees it including you Sebastian that if you're on Twitter or Instagram, you're just getting more interaction on truth already. Yes. And remember, we had a beta test that only ended four days ago when we moved over to the rumble architecture fully architectured cloud can not be canceled by any tech tyrants. So we're into day 5 of this, and we continue to just add people day by day by day. And we're only on Apple. So, what does that mean? It means a few things, but most importantly, it shows that number one, we have been shadow banned and censored by these other platforms, and two, I think it also shows these platforms don't have as many actual humans and actual people as they claim to have had, because even if you did all the sensory and all the shadow banning, it's impossible that nearly everybody that has come over the truth that still has a Twitter account or an Instagram account, how are they getting so much engagement on such a platform like ours that's just beginning. So it's inspiring. It's great. People are coming in droves. We want to invite people. Apple App Store. It's up. You can get it on your iPhone.

Donald Trump Gave a Sterling Speech Over the Weekend

"Okay, the president gave a superlative. If it's possible, he's getting better and better, superb speech at the weekend in Ohio. He had just, of course, endorsed for the Senate JD Vance out of Ohio. This is what he had to say about his social media platform, truth social, which we have to discuss given the breaking news about Twitter, play cut. But truth, social phone users can download the app today and get their voices back and it's open and ready to go and go out and use it and have fun with it and non iPhone users are coming very, very soon to make truth socially free speech alternative to big tech tech platforms. Our team is working around the clock and has recently enabled every single person on the wait list to join the platform. A lot of people are on the wait list. Now you can join. That's big news. We knew that lots of people tens of thousands of people, not oversubscription, just popularity over sight that believes in the First Amendment had applied were waiting. I managed to help a few people. I just found out this morning, mister G was waiting and he didn't tell me, but even he has been accepted. But what happens now? This was the alternative to Twitter. It was because the left said, well, if you don't like it, if you believe that you're being censored, if you think the algorithm somehow shadow ban you, we don't need belief

Darren Beattie: Elon Musk Better Be Prepared for What's Coming

"He's Darren Beatty of revolver, Darren, welcome to America first. It's great to be here. Thank you for having me, Seth. So first things first, I got to give you guys that revolver massive, massive credit. For I mean, of all the journalistic outlets out there, you have done the most in depth analysis of the videos of the iPhone footage from January the 6th. Who's ray eps, who's the guy on the tower, everybody out there, you need to read those two in depth articles on the movements, the events of January the 6th add to that Julie Kelly's amazing pieces at American greatness and you'll have a much better picture of what actually happened on that day. So congratulations to you Darren. We can talk about that in our next segment, but we've got a couple of minutes here. Musk, Elon Musk, not going on the board, good news, because then he can engineer a hostile taker of over of Twitter, give us your take of how much of a cat amongst the pigeons, Elon's recent purchases have been. Well, I think it's extremely significant and certainly portends good things, although we'll have to wait and see how things actually materialize. But what I've been trying to caution Elon is that he needs to understand exactly what he's getting into. This is not any ordinary hostile takeover because Twitter is not ordinary company. Despite its relatively modest market cap by corporate standards, it is an Elon's correct characterization, the global public square, and control over the global public square is virtually priceless in a society such as ours. And so if he goes for Twitter and attempts to make it an actual free speech platform, this amounts effectively to what I'd call a declaration of war against the regime and he better be prepared for what's coming.

Should Apple Have a Master Key to Our Phones ?

"You know congressman is the terrorist attack is unspooling. There are names and contacts on that phone that we have to know before they flee the country before they kill other people. I don't even know how we have a debate about this. I don't want to give him a key to everybody's phone. I just want the attorney general to be able to have the back phone or the bat signal to go out to Tim Cook and say, we need to get into this iPhone now and get a response. Is that really the same thing that you're talking about? Well, how would Apple do that? Unless they had a master key. Now, I think there are solutions for this Israel, for example, is extraordinary in the intelligence that they have. And they're able to unlock phones because they're intelligent agency actually has figured out how to unlock things. And I rather that we invest in that kind of technology in the United States and eventually people are able to unlock these things rather than saying, okay, Apple, we need you to keep a key that can get into everyone's phone. What happens if someone breaks into that key? I guess that to me is the danger of requiring that app will be able to break into any phone if there's a violation of law or

True the Vote's Gregg and Catherine Discuss Cell Phone Data

"The one thing that fascinates me on all this is the cell phone data. Can you walk us through a little bit about that? And I'd love to contextualize that. All of our cell phones put off a set of signals. They're mostly hidden. So what's the code? In fact, if you look on your phone, if you type in star pound, zero 6 pound. It's in everybody's phone. Zero 6 pound. Pound, okay. Did the numbers come up? Like that? Nope, start in your phone like you're going to call someone. I'm sorry. Okay. Just like you're going to call somebody. Like that? Oh, wow. Okay. So all of those numbers are unique to your phone. No matter what. So that's amazing. And those numbers then are emitted. That's it. That's it. And those are all tagged to apps on your phone. So this is like a foot fingerprint. That's right. Unique to you can not be replicated. That's right. And so this is my device ID. This is all of this. Yeah. And so based on that information, what do we know? There's 300,000 or so apps that collect that information. There's 27,000 apps that collected on a prolific basis. So the weather channel app or any of your social media Facebook is always is it pinning? Is that right? It's emitting a signal and inside the signal there are several things. First of all, it's the LAT long, like where are we on the earth, right? So my phone's iPhones right there. And it can drill down into about 18 inch and 18 inches of dynamic. So they'll be able to see, Greg Charlie and Catherine are here at our studio, having a chat. Yes. Absolutely. At this time, right? So absolutely. Latin long time and elevation. On the first floor. Sir, are we on the first floor? We're on the second floor. Where are we? And if you combine all of those and then add time to it, we can then build the pattern of life around it. So I came from a different building. You guys came from a meeting, and then you can kind of just trace the pings, right? Right. And we can tell you if that's the pattern you normally take. We can go back years and get very, very exacting. And that's what was necessary in this project.

"The mason minute. With Kevin mason. As our lives become more filled with technology, one of the biggest problems I think each and every one of us has is what some call planned obsolescence. When companies announced that their hardware or their software is going to become obsolete, Apple just announced that some of their macbooks will now become obsolete. There won't be any more updates. I'm sure my 5, 6, 7 year old Mac. I don't remember how old it is. It's going to be in one of those. I've got a bunch of Windows computers that are now considered obsolete and can't be updated. As is one of my iPads and I'm getting to the point I'm sure my iPhone is going to be next. I wish I could buy all this software and hardware as fast as it comes out, but I sometimes think they're pushing it too quickly. I'm not going to spend a $1000 a year for a new phone. I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars a year for a new computer or a new software. I see it all the time with some of the tools and softwares I use where everybody starts looking for cheaper alternatives. I appreciate everybody's bottom line, but at the end of the day, thanks to the economy, my income keeps going backwards. These companies can keep trying to make more money, and I'll start prioritizing. Who I want to give my money to and who all have to live without.

Pastor John MacArthur on Moral Decline and Gender Confusion

"It seems that the overton window has been changing and moving throughout the last couple of years. To even say that there are only two genders to have a video removed, it's such an extraordinary measure. Now, Apple iPhones, they have emojis of pregnant men. Just talk a little bit about in your many years of ministry, how you've seen this moral decline with it, the gender confusion that is plaguing America. Yeah, you know, I think Charlie, it really is what you see described in the first chapter of Romans. Where were the apostle Paul talks about the wrath of God being revealed and it's cyclical? The way it lays out the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness. So societies have essentially a certain amount of truth regarding God and righteousness and truth in general and all of that. But because of their desire to rebel against God, they turn away from God, they turn away from his word, and Rome is once as the first thing that happens is God gives them over to sexual immorality to fornication. And then a couple of verses later, it says, and he gives them over to homosexuality. And then the third aspect of this form of wrath God gives them over to a reprobate mind, which in the original means of mind that doesn't function. So when you look at a culture and you see that there has been a sexual revolution followed by a homosexual revolution followed by insanity, you have seen the evidence of that wrath of God unfolding in that culture. And I think it's just part of the obvious insanity and utter irrationality to say men aren't men and women aren't women, which is the most obvious reality in human existence.

Left Overreacts to Fox News Host Jesse Watters' 'Ambush' and 'Kill Shot' Comments

"Viral right now, one of our speakers, my very good friend Jesse watters, so I think very highly of Jesse spoke yesterday. I didn't get a chance to see his speech, but everyone said, man, Jesse was on his game. And Jesse has spoke probably 5 to 6 times at turning point USA throughout the years, would you say? Yeah. And he kind of usually does the similar stick. And there's nothing wrong with it, right? It's kind of like I was a guy for Bill O'Reilly, you know, this is water, this is my world. You know, you guys should do the same thing. But it seemed like Jesse was really getting into the crowd, right? He saw he saw a different type of stage, different type of theatrics. And I haven't seen the whole speech yet, but you could tell based on what he was telling the audience to do. He probably had a similar stick. And then he kind of incorporated this new thing. Absolutely. So what Jesse is always telling the audience to do is you guys can do this too. You can so adjust used to do for Bill over how they used to show up at these people's houses, judges or prosecutors or Mike and somebody's face. Why are you letting this child rape the stuff? Yeah. Why are you doing, you know what I mean? Like, really kind of really intense. And so Jesse decided to tell the audience, which was terrific, that they should go and be grassroots journalists and do this to people in power. Such as Anthony Fauci. Yeah, funny enough, I would have never even paused on this clip. It is so obvious. It's so obvious using metaphors and he was using, well, it's also a double entendre with the shot. But let's play the clip. Let's go. I'm sick and tired of conservatives always playing defense. I'm going to deputize all you guys to be little James O'Keefe's, okay? You got to ambush a guy like Fauci, okay? This is how you do these ambushes, like O'Keeffe. First you identify yourself. Dress, do you mind Doctor Fauci, if I ask you a few questions? Do you say Doctor Fauci? Why did you lie? You're just gonna speak gibberish. You let him talk. Get it on tape with your iPhone or your buddy's iPhone. Now, we didn't actually get the oh, the kill shot. Yeah, so the tape is longer than that, right? And so then he goes up to say, and then he says, boom, he asked the question that's the kill shot. Now, obviously, Andrew, what was he talking about? He's talking about catching him out in his lies. I mean, it's very obvious. And something that would so humiliate him. And so he's already his reputation is already in shatters amongst many conservatives and amongst freedom loving patriots all around the country. But something that would be so undeniably clear that he would lose all standing even within the mainstream. Let's be fair. Jesse waters would have been doing this at some sort of BLM or young Democrat socialist and saying that if you see Donald Trump Jr. and use the same thing, no one would have no one would have said anything.

In front of me right now, in my main computer set up two monitors, I've got my iPad and my iPhone and we'll always have a spare computer on the side just in case I need to pop it up and do something else with it. But every now and again, you run into having too many screens in front of you. Last night for me an example we were watching the ball state football game on the big screen. Plus, I had a Google chat going on on one computer. I was referencing some music files on another computer and of course my phone going off having to do some text messages there. And well, I think I actually left the iPad upstairs for a change. If I had a way to be able to have kind of like a circular monitor system, where I could always be surrounded by monitors, and that way I just go for monitored monitor. I could do multiple things on one computer, and besides, can one computer handle all that I needed to do? The answer is really no, because sometimes you can't do everything all at once, even though I try. First world problems I know, but I'll tell you what, every now and again, too many screens. And I've got friends who say, two screens is one too many.

And I've got friends who say, two screens is one too many.

Under pressure, Apple allows self-repairs to iPhones, Macs

"Apple is changing a long standing policy by allowing users to make some repairs to their iPhones for years apple has only allowed company approved technicians to touch its proprietary software in parts but now it's planning to launch an online store early next year we're users can pick up parts and tools to make simple repairs like screens batteries and displays on iPhone twelve and thirteen models not only was the by the administration and the Federal Trade Commission pushing for access to do it yourself repairs even some apple shareholders were demanding a change saying the company's anti repair practices contribute to electronic waste I'm Jackie Quinn

Rittenhouse Defense Demands Mistrial Over Drone Video-Android Mishap

"Matters here for our daily dose of legal analysis our good friend president Trump saw one of her former attorneys Jenna Alice Jenna Thank you for joining us for like day 72 We appreciate it Absolutely This is so important in everyone is watching this trial unfolding seeing how prosecutorial misconduct like not disclosing exculpatory evidence and not providing material evidence to the defense is a violation of due process I mean this is just one of many not just blunders but actual misconduct actions of the prosecutors I want you to explain in a second this dispute that's going on today this morning in the rittenhouse trial over this drone footage but you are correct And again I was on the investigator side You were a lawyer Prosecutor defense but if you were prosecuting someone for say a case I'd worked on a guy who was taken out rental car loans and other people's names If you have evidence indicating that subject is not in fact guilty of that crime and you don't turn it over you are finished if you're not prosecuted yourself as an agent discovery is one of the basic tenets of a fair criminal process So what they can you please explain what happened this morning with this drone video and what the disagreement is about Yeah this is absolutely insane And it's absurd So the current status of this in our good for inject by the way if people aren't following him on Twitter he's done a remarkable job just going through every single immediate highlight and giving you on Twitter kind of what's going on So he just tweeted out actually pictures of this drone video that shows what the sensory received and what the prosecution actually had And so it's much much more clear when you magnify onto Kyle rittenhouse about three times You can see a clearer picture of what the prosecution actually had of Kyle than what they provided to the defense the defense is saying well we texted it to you and they're actually blaming the defense for having androids instead of iPhone This is absurd Absolutely Wait wait wait come on stop This is not a joke right They're blaming the defense for not having the appropriate phone as deemed necessary

"Is one that you travel and you select you go laughter. You go right to the left. You have the new iphone thirteen whichever version that you like. And to the right you have. The new google pixel six whichever version of it that you like. Which way are you going to travel this year. Those are only to give you know other options in this scenario of us android for the past three years. I think i'm going to switch to the iphone thirteen. Did you hear that slowly. Dropped a bottle for dramatic. I think everyone heard that. Wow yeah i'm feeling the exact opposite right now for myself. Well you came from i. Didn't we all used for what a couple of months the way you said that. Mesalliance iphone gave birth to me you but you came from an iphone here. Consider it living without honestly i use an iphone. Three g was the first iphone that i used and i had zero allegiance or alliance to it that it's just been my life in the tech game. Since the very beginning it's been back and forth. I went from that phone to blackberry to one of the early galaxy s models. Back to another iphone back to back that before you to before anybody cared what. I was up to people. Barely care at this point. But you see what i'm saying you're will so god look how cheap that would wall on contract. Sign away your life one nine but still yeah definitely not what we're dealing with these days. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the design of the pixel being so different and the new iphone being so similar to the previous generation as well. It just feels more newness. And i haven't picks on a while but whatever either way. How much does it really matter which way you travel at this four narrowed. It doesn't why were you so surprised would drop in the waterfall. I wasn't i wasn't dramatic. Fact people are watching. This show are the i seventy eight. People are watching this show as they say motorola's over the airspace. Charging tack can charge four devices simultaneously. Oh into this you like this you like the over. The air charged over there. Like true wireless charging anything you know..

"I we didn't do this in a while like few days. At least right it feels so good. I feel so good. I don't know if you can tell. I feel so good. Maybe if i paid enough times. That'll work yeah. I don't think that's how it works. It's a mentality no mindset the way in which you approach things. I've been trying to wake up for a few days. That's what i'll say about that. Yeah it's been a long week. I don't know what it is like. The weather changed. And then it feels it feels. My body is in an adaptation mode. I where i'm getting up in the morning. And i'm like did i sleep at all. My am i here right now. You question yourself like that. am i alive. Yeah was i dreaming. am i dreaming. You are definitely dreaming. Oh no it's just all that's okay just fall. Anyway we're back so carried away with it. Get right into it. Apple products could see noticeable price. Rises amid increased. chip costs. apple will need to pay more for the chips in its devices and may pass rising costs on to its customers. According to sources easy yeah chip shortages chip prices apple. customers will pay more won't they. They don't mind say what's the price to grant three grand. Get to me now. A need that new iphone. Which iphone i don't know i thirteen fourteen fifteen just one of all the new ones coming up next week. Yeah new ones next week. But what are they going to call it. Is it actually going to be thirteen. Did we ever find out they're just gonna go with thirteen. they Summer superstitious about the number. Apparently not enough not enough for superstitious. Where are the superstitious with that number. I i keep saying. It's a superstitious number. But i don't know where like its origins like you can't have. Oh there you go calmly linked to the early christians number. Thirteen appears in certain biblical traditions. For example thirteen people president the last supper jesus and his twelve apostles some say the betrayer. Judas was thirteen.

"St joe's email confers apple was working on an iphone. I remember i applaud nanno and it was. It was a hot. It was a popular Ipod he may have been deep popular ipod For a moment in time. I remember the very first one we were like. How is it so small. how did they do. It is so thin but had the had the stainless steel back on the original original ipod nano and then of course iterative over time but the original. I apply now. Got all scratched up on back. People got upset and it was one of the ones where the battery was. Dying fairly rapidly because they made it so thin back when i had to repair shop going every we will come in with their ipod. Nanos with what. Can i do that already. Type of thing but batteries. Yeah steve jobs. It makes sense. Because steve jobs and certainly back once upon a time. The what you did. On your smartphone with different it wasn't all about scrolling content forever and ever and ever it was about what his the waves envisions as tool A music player. I don't know it was going to be in your pocket more. Let's say that. And so then portability is a thing you might be interested if you all you do is remember the original iphone to to realize that the original vision was different from where we ended up.

"It listeners. it's brought molina. welcome back to talking tech my co host. Mike snyder is off today. So tell me if this sounds familiar. You have an iphone or an ipad you pop into your settings and you notice that little red number one that pops up and you go and you see software update and it's your iphone or ipad telling you you need to update your device but you decided you know what i'm gonna do it later You might wanna consider next time you find yourself in that situation update as soon as you can. Apple recently rolled out. Ios fourteen dot seven dot one. Which is the latest version of its operating system for iphones. there's also one for ipad. os as well which is also named ipad s. fourteen dot seven dot one. Now when you first look at. It doesn't seem like that. Big update in the case of iphones. It fixes an issue where models with touch. Id can't unlock appeared apple. Watch when you use the unlock with iphone feature. There is however a very important security update. Here apple says. They found an issue tied to memory corruption. And what happens is this issue could lead to a situation where an application could quote maybe able to execute arbitrary code with colonel privileges. So what exactly does that mean Texts life hacker had a really good explanation of this. What this issue can lead to. Is it quote allows malicious apps installed on the device to gain elevated privileges in execute arbitrary code attacks and quote which is not good. If you're an iphone owner so what makes us a big deal is apple noted in its security update that this issue has been actively exploited which means that it has been used at some point or other. So it's important as always keep those phones and ipads updated. Apple says that this update is available for the following devices. If you own an iphone successor later if any model the ipad pro if you own an ipad air tour later ipad fifth generation or later i had many four and later or the seventh generation ipod. Touch the process itself again. Very simple you go to settings you hit general then you go to software update. It'll take you to a prompt where he can hit download and install and go from there..

"Forgotten the name of your company and karen are. Are you in the market for new mac anytime soon. Now no i bite my mac pro is still going into. It's three years old. It's going three and a half years old. So i i try. I spoil myself with a new iphone every year. So i try to to hold out longer with my other devices. Guys like the iphone upgrade program in america. Right you on the iphone upgrade program. I am i am not i. I was but i. Because i on verizon through my son's workplace it's not allowed so i had to pay for it out is a stylish 'em joe if the iphone comes early compared to last you. What do you think's going to happen to your last payments apple. Wait this has happened before this has happened before. Where they they've technically. I mean i don't know if it's like that much longer before. But they'll they'll generally say yet. Yeah you can just. You can just upgrade now the because they want you to upgrade. Now i've been iphone person that the last time it was less than a year. They definitely let people upgrade on on early stay. I think exactly how it worked with the money. I feel like the way they did. It was the I think this was going from iphone. Ten to iphone eleven or no tendency would would've been Because the remember the iphone ten action out launched late october like a month not even a month later but then the the the tennis launched in september of the following year like it normally would and so you had it was an eleven months cycle instead of twelve and i think just get get it just. We want to get it. What don't you people understand. We'd rather have some money than all of. Yeah because i. I was on the upgrade program. At that time. I did do exactly. I had the ten. And then i had the tennis and i got the both on launch day i always get on launch day. Launched watch right. Everybody joining unrelated. No i need a day off on a friday in september. "And now it's between september on november. Which i'm sure. Marc knows more than that. But that's more of an educated guess like i probably could've told you between september november like it wasn't going to be december and we knew it. Was you know no products before september. So i was gonna say this is not an air pods max launch. This is a a mainline set product. They're going to release the The laptops right after the back to school sales and of course they do. It's a great way to clear the inventory. Clear the decks right. Do you think they'll follow the same Configurations last year. What was the iphone in september. Sir no no no. It was an ipad. Air in september. Iphone will so obviously won't follow that configuration but you think that september and october and november. So here's what. I'm wondering is what i feel like a couple of weeks ago. There was a rumor that they launched them all at the same event. Which bonanza yeah. That's pretty cool. That'd be fun. I only just and then. Just a just a smorgasbord of news and devices. Planning but yeah it's a it's a more specific launch window which is september november starts twelve weeks of. Yeah i definitely. Don't i definitely don't think they'll release them all at the same time. I feel like even if they announced the macbooks those are like a and they're coming next month thing war and they'll focus more on the iphone and apple. Watch those release. I think the way apple did it last year with the lots of events that you know very kind of short fun. Just a couple of products have very focused. I think that went really well. I think without having you know a big in person event see why they wouldn't do them and don't have to have a hands on section. Yep exactly yeah. I mean if if they're not doing it in person as seems like they might as well have separate smaller events it just it prolongs the excitement and she they dump everything at once. Everyone is like going crazy for week and then everybody kind of forgets about it. But if they're you know every every month or so. Having another event in only product release it's kind of keeps excitement level high these These mike books going to be the bee's knees by the way like the awful silicon hounds crazy bringing st cod slow she. Mike safe is apparently making a comeback design so like the curved edge. Poor safe everything is is on its way out. Yeah i think it could be already big. Yeah that'd be wild. And instead of the mac save charger. It's just this giant slot in the side of the slide. A like an iphone charger into like a puck puck whole. Yeah i did see. I saw like a funny like concept me of someone like mac saves coming back to the mike book and it was. Just the iphone puck over the Over the apple logo on the back of the charges. It fifteen watts. But it's back book partly. We're supposed to thirty already. Have these but it was supposed to be announced earlier. They've been held up of the many. Led display. That doesn't surprise us. Yeah which seems to be the pa- vaden theme of all mini-league default time has just production delay so production and a lot of different tack areas. This is very interesting. Which is i mean. I. it's wild to me many. Led for all time and then we've got these rumors of no the next ipad pros going to have an let display. Yep yep we're just going to cut that loose. After a year a generation maybe maybe all the production delays. Maybe apples decided. It's more hassle than it's worth under while. Oh let itself on a tablet sized device..

"Now there we got it technically exists. Yeah yeah it was. They didn't even announce it. Maybe that again in the next iphone. It'll be it's wild. Do i have now i. I was actually 'cause that's something i haven't actually checked in the last couple of days yet. I haven't tried the reverse charging. And i was looking to see if i had occasion front of me where i couldn't i count y- you can charge your app called Count you think so but actually let me let me check that. Because my dad's a wireless air or yeah wireless air pods charger completely. Not even plugged in that is. That's that's why. I didn't even figure you'd be able to do that but it's something something's talk about like you said i think is the let's though i think for the i think next time apple should have one. That really does just okay like this it. Basically it covers the attendant portion of the back of the iphone to of many. Let's make it so it just comes up. It has just a little bit extra better. That comes up here and it's just a little knob and the rest of the iphone round the round the camera house. Yeah could make that way that way. We once the the many phones are gone. We can remember them forever by the yet by the battery. Pack breath so low memorial man. All right let's move on because we've got some it's you know it's the summer rumor season truly because we have some more reports this week about what we're gonna this fall probably see this fall. Actually you know what seeing out in our in our show notes that actual thing. That definitely happened that i wanna talk about a little bit. I is say. Ted lonzo ted lasso when all cast and i want to watch the show notes. We've got to talk about ten right. Yeah no we're going to. We're going to push the rumors back just very slightly in. We're going to talk a little. Bit about ted lasso. Because season two premiere was well for me. It was this morning out thirty minutes ago literally finished it right before the show. It's good. it's so good. I miss this show One of the things that. I'm learning from the internet though from twitter is that a lot of people were not paying attention to how apple releases its shows relate with. People surprised only one episode lot of complaints that it wasn't a binge to which i say. Ha i i am. We knew that we knew that us. We thought we knew that. Apparently less time i think there was three episodes. I yeah but also one of the things that you probably that you've got to remember. Is that a lot of people. Probably got into the show after it was. Yeah exactly like descent. Like november december. People get used to benching and they want bench. The and i'm not going to say that they're wrong for wanting that but i'm also not going to say for wanting you're wrong when i grew up with you had to watch tv when it was on and if you missed it you missed it to even. I'm old enough to remember those days. He had three channels all. Tv's were like twelve inches. Was that a little set a little after your time. Bigger than than twelve inch. Tv's but but i. i had cable. And i it depends on what part of my childhood because part of my childhood was spent overseas. When i had zero or one channel's yeah a large my childhood so i hadn't even less than most an. I grew up the same way that you had. I mean i think we've probably had a lot more channels in my childhood but still you had to tape things if you wanted to watch things again immediately yet to tape them. Vcr i didn't have a vcr. I don't remember having vcr. Maybe maybe my senior but definitely not not before that but yeah. It's just so interesting so many people we've gotten used to the bench model and what is fascinating to me of. All the big players will include apple. Tv plus as a big player for the purposes of this discussion at least but net of all the big players net flicks is really the one. That's hanging onto benching yeah Because hulu releases who who generally does the thing where they release like three episodes and then the rest of them are weekly Like a little bit. I do like a little mini binge. So if we had like episode one and two today for ted lhasa. That wouldn't have been bad. But i like the i mean there's definitely something to be said for spreading out. It certainly depends on the show like the tick loss. For example a loss was i call lost the last show before binging lost was my life for seven years like you understand. I lifted. I would watch an episode. I would immediately go online and there was like this chat room that i love. It was called television without pity. Thinks existing are you there. I would be on there for hours after the show discussing every nuance of the episode. And like all week. I would be checking back in the chat room and seeing like if anybody could come up with new theories and i mean it was it like i. I feel like. I've really lived in that place for seven years and now people life. The most people won't even try to budget if they missed it. They're like oh it's too many episodes forget it. I'm never watched that. And if they do try a lot of them can't get through it they're like it's just too much and a lot of some people that did get through are just like it was okay like the us. You didn't do it right. you didn't do it. You didn't have so you didn't have the the the season three. Hell avis where it was the first six episodes and then six months until episode seven. And i swear. There was over a year between seasons outset. Set some between season five and six. I think between the the second last and last season there was there was a big app. It was like just the sweets torture or the screaming get serenely white and then for the first time ever we had a dark loss title and then we waited over a year for it to get your right. Game of thrones with closest to that experience. I've had since then was definitely game of thrones because they parcel out the episodes the differences that people a lot of people did not watch game of thrones at real time. So you still couldn't talk about it because there was always somebody in the crowd that hadn't seen that episode yet and you didn't want to spoil. It has to be careful spoiler when it was lost. Like i don't even remember what time it Everybody watched it when it was live on. Tv everybody worrying about spoilers. You're right now. There are so many shows you can benched like we can have a couple of and i like the you know. Fridays ted loss. O'day i wonder what's gonna happen next week as the anticipation and the build up and stuff and and yet joe like you said the first season it came went. Now you can binge it if you really don't wanna wait around. Just wait until it's all ten episodes the season again. I think i think it's still think it's ten episodes. Wait ten weeks and but like from a business standpoint like it. It's it's clearly you guys saw today. Apple like the apple online store was just exclusively lasso. There wasn't a single apple products on the pages just blue kind of makes a comeback ted lassos face streaming here like for apple to like to to cover up. Its website like that. Like they know that they're onto a winner and it's far and away like the most popular show the channel on on the i. I felt like when apple. Tv plus was first introduced in the morning. Show is supposed to be like the big flagship series on religion. Hong kong And yeah and they have all these big budget shows and then tomaso just snuck in. I don't think apple expected that to be their big hit and it just caught on fire them commercials for nbc sports. No i don't think anyone would have a crazy idea. But now they know they're they're milking it for all. It's worth and good for them. Actually i just think ted loss was just the right show at the right time People i it was just it came out like towards the end of the pandemic Feel good when we feel..

"I'll i'll take news any doubt. It does go with the iphone twelve. It also will go just as well as the next model. so yeah. yeah it's like. This is going to become obsolete into months brand that would have been. That would not made any sense if it was. I think the fact that it's not like single. Use the facts that you can use it. Like we've said as a safe puck by charging you'll phone through the battery or reverse by charging the battery three or phone like Is just a little more convenient. Did you guys see the thing. Parker also lonnie did on twitter wearing like the iphone lightning dock and then on top of it. It's basically now. I say it's like a magnetic iphone doc but you can pop your phone on an awful of will and if it's in and if it's in the lightning doc or yeah if if the battery pack is attached lightning docket should charge at fifteen watts yet there is. I don't think you'd wanna perpetually leave your juices flowing through the battery pack. It would probably shorten the lifespan. A little bit but yeah i thought it was really really neat. It was them. Yeah just a cool puppet on that and my is i think in especially good trick if you know. You're headed out later in the day. Like right after work. You're gonna you're you'll pop so you'll pop your phone off the dock but you'll have the battery on it so you're good to go even the fact that you can charge them both. At the same time i hadn't thought about how convenient that would be Can you do that with the other ones. I'm doing battery charge charging the battery ex. Yeah all the will. I guess number reverse charging doesn't work. Hey reverse charging exists on the iphone. How about which one knocks. But it's there. Yes someone someone i feel like someone somewhere is just trying to get people to pay up on a bet..

"Seems right One of the things that really strikes me about this. This is not the device that you use if you need like a lot of power quickly you this is something i imagine. That apple feels like this is something you take along with you and then you clip to the back of your phone if you need if you have a little battery battery anxiety just to get you kind of over the the hump at the end of the day. Almost it just if you needed now an hour or two but yeah you're right. It's not something fast chargers we've sadden. No the capacity monstrous that you would you know it's not going to double your usage giora. Yeah at the same time it's gonna it. Yeah it's going to keep your battery it's gonna keep your iphones battery. Basically it's going to keep your iphones better from sinking lower and actually Charged up a little bit but it isn't a. Oh wow. I have so much power now. It's not like which i think. The battery the old batter smart battery cases were kind of that. An to an extent is that the they did a great job of charging a little faster but then again they were also lightning based. They didn't do wireless charging that speaking of cases. It doesn't work with the mac safe case. Yes it does it. Does work has non save case a good question. I don't have ideal excessive case. It might depend on the thickness. I think yeah some some accessory makers would you like if the cases one mill too thick you. You'd be okay. Anything in and if the if the standard maxine charger works with works with your case than this will i do have cases that are non mag safe and the safe charger does work with it. Just fine but it doesn't stick magnetic out. Yeah yeah yeah the big thing. It's very expensive. like yeah. Hundred dollars is a lot full. Yes this is true. Am don't know i'm just seems like a law for phenomenal. Like i think. I'm gonna take a pass on that one. Don't get me wrong. I like it and it works. Really well for is what i would need it for. It's just for most people. I would think probably anchor anchor battery because it doesn't really depend on the magnetic. Yeah yeah it does it. Doesn't it doesn't really depend on the size of your phone. The anchor one. I don't think. I don't think that is bigger than the iphone. Twelve mini no. I don't think over it's Considerably like it's a bit thick of five thousand million capacity molly. I'm howard plus if i'm reading christine few right which is also five thousand three times more. Just yeah yes that. that's yeah. That's that's why. I mean that's why i would say kind of seems to me. It's a bit like the mike. So wallet which. I haven't reviewed unlike i loved it and it's a beautifully might products in very cool and stylish. Obviously it comes with the apple brandon but like it sounds like a tough sell to be on. I would say on. Its own like just thinking of this on its own. It's fine but compared to other batteries of products you're to keep it joe Yeah actually i do i don. I don't now that i have it. I don't really have a desire for. I have a lot of need for an external battery. And this one. I mean it's integrated What the software. And it's easy enough to slap on the phone. So i i will say that. I'm glad apple made the choice to do. A standalone battery rather than a battery case is so case is so phone. Specific were mad. I mean you'll have that battery until you know until it doesn't matter anymore with an iphone thirteen minutes and use that with iphone fourteen and fifteen and so and the fact that you have more than what i mean..

I wrote about how. I'm really not ready for that kind of commitment on my phone. I thought i already get anxious about losing my phone with what i already have on it. Which is email social media and stuff the thought of having my driver's license and my house keys and car keys and everything else just. I'm already worried about it. And i've not even in that situation yet. The other thing too. Is you know if i want to android for example even though yeah you can remotely wipe your phone and do things like that. It's still feels like there's a lot of effort you have to take if you've added all these features and then you want to switch and then you've got to dial it back Several readers responded on twitter. Here a couple of the more interesting ones besides the ones that suggested. I can't use my phone properly. Which i get it. It's fine it's okay. Twitter user fuser writes maybe step through the looking glass and viewed from the other side. Imagine if you lost your driver's license wouldn't it. Be nice to have it in your iphone while working on getting a replacement yes. That's absolutely convenient. I i like that idea. Another really interesting comment from johnny red beard. People have been carrying around that same information in one spot for a long time. If a lady leaves her purse somewhere she probably lost her. I d house car keys credit cards etc with an iphone. Worst case scenario. You just erase it or remotely. I totally agree. It's very convenient. It can be very useful in situations like that. I just am very i. I feel like this comes up a lot technology where we love the convenience but then we sometimes forget about the were surrendering lot of ourselves to these devices. And i think that's a matt where it's like. I'm i'm not ready for that type of sharing of my information yet with my iphone

"Anything all the cameras. That'd be really really noticeable if you're coming from a phone pre iphone ten right if you were coming from something. That didn't have an old ed. You're really going to notice that. But if you're coming from a twenty nine thousand nine hundred phone. There's a big difference right you speed test rate and one of my tests and the graphics tests. The phone wasn't even really faster right. It was a little more consistent but some of them. I my results actually faster on the ten eleven pro compared to the twelve pro right. So it's like it's a complicated phone this year. And i think that this is probably the easiest iphone to skip my opinion if you're just looking at twelve and the twelve pro not talking about the mini max yet. But it's probably the easiest iphone diskette the we've had in quite a while which is not really what i expected going into this generation. What do you feel about right. I think i'm a little pessimistic. I'm certainly. I can feel myself in the overall mode of like iphone pixel xbox playstation all the places. I can tell that. I'm not really letting these pieces of tech impress me the way i usually do and really kind of spending more quality time that i wish i had. But how do you feel about the twelfth. Are you aunt for the twelve pro. Max do you think it's a good upgrade. Just where's your head at on everything right now so. I've only spent a little bit of time to twelve pro. My wife has one. Okay and i've really like denise design for me personally like i by the phones every year right and it's not even just my work. I would do it anyway. Because that's the type of person i am. I'm sure lots of people listening to this show or in a similar boat. You know whatever technology they loved the most. They will refresh every time they can. Even if didn't change incremental because it's the thing they care about and performance and design a two things that i will always be interested in. And i think that these new phones look fantastic Yeah you know. And and i would also say that like if you even coming from an eleven pro to the twelve pro. The big screen size. Is i think really interesting like the max phones but i think i could very happily used a twelve pro. I think it's the screen size level. The i would consider like as a person likes bigger phones like that in that category..

"I feel pretty confident that that is going to be a trade off that i'm going to be okay with making. What about the cameras on these phones. Have you spent little a time of it. I mean obviously the biggest change on the on. These is the video stuff. You are a video guy. Yes what has been your experience so far for some context. We use the iphone all lot to capture photos and video right so i would say the majority of the thumbnails for the channel or shot on iphone all the for that and we use a lot of video can when he was at micr center waiting in line. He livestreamed from the iphone camera front and rear facing camera in the middle of the night with just a little bit of light in the parking lot and it was fine right. I shot a good chunk of that video on iphone where. I didn't have time to pick up the camera. I would flip out the phone. These are these are tools that we use on a very regular basis to capture content. Because they're absolutely good enough right so when it comes time to look at twelve in the twelve pro. The video generally speaking is the same right. You're not getting a huge difference. Which makes sense because while the processing has slightly improved and you get a slightly wider lens on the main camera. I standard video is very similar where it differs with the hdr implementation. Thing is while it's nice to have the ten bit hdr to work with. It's not easy to work with right so generally speaking most editing software cannot properly handle it at right at the moment you can do work around so for some of our footage. We had to run it through resolve to actually bring it down to the sdr color space. Now you can turn off. Hdr and you can try. Obviously all the dolby vision stuff is on default. Right it is yes. If you're paying attention it looked fine on the phone and you can transfer out but then what the phone will do is if you shoot it. Hdr and then you like airdrop it to someone who doesn't have a an sdr display or whatever. The case is it will transport it down and you will lose quality which is obviously not something that i really want to do. So until final cut gets the update specifically for us to support it. And i think we're probably have to update to big serves while so that's gonna be a whole thing. I just plant using the iphone like a standard non sdr device. I like the idea of having ten bit. That's something that all of our cameras. If we can shoot that higher sort of like level of compression. I guess technically lower level of compression to get all that extra data. That's always great. But the nice thing about the iphone is we never shoot the iphone to be the best looking video in the world right. The iphone is always the tool we use when we have something. That's super last minute. We need to shoot an area where it's not cool to bring some big camera. Whatever the case is. That's really where the iphone shines in while. Yes i'm very excited to have that. Hdr video and i'm excited to have that higher level of quality but even with the best firmware updates in the world final cut beings able to support and everything generally speaking is not as easy to work with hdr stuff. We certainly don't master videos and hdr with a couple of exceptions. That are you know a couple of years old at this point. So i guess it's a really long winded answer to say the videos basically the same with the potential of being better based on how well the hr implementation is in apps such as.

"Also make the call available as a podcast if you hours later, and as always you, and I will skip merrily through it right here on Wednesday. Here's an uplifting sentiment to take into today's earnings report. The worst is almost over for the iphone slowdown. That's apparently the thinking of Tf international securities analyst Ming quo macrumors has young MC saying that the naysayers spaceship haters of gone too, far quoting note. A report published on December fourteenth twenty eighteen was the first to cut the estimate of twenty nineteen iphone shipments to one hundred ninety million units or less the current market consensus on twenty nineteen iphone shipments. One hundred sixty to one hundred eighty million units as much lower than our estimating. And we believe the share prices of apple and most iphone suppliers are generally priced in the negative. We maintain our forecast of one eighty eight to one hundred ninety two million units for twenty nineteen iphone shipments. We believe the downside risks of share prices for the apple and iphone supply chain. Or limited in the near term given that second quarter twenty nineteen iphone shipments will likely be better than the market consensus. He thinks iphone sales will be down for this quarter versus the same quarter a year ago, he sees the same for next quarter after that things don't get better. But they stopped getting worse provided other things don't get worse. According macrumors as long as the US China. Trade war does not worsen quo expects the improvement to continue into the second half of twenty nineteen with I phone shipments likely to be generally flat compared to the second half of twenty eighteen thanks to stronger replacement demand trade-in programs and market share gain in European markets. "Iphone autographs on your new iphone. Yeah. If you have good lying successes perfectly fine for taking a picture, and there are some bowl. So this this contest like nine allowed to use extra hardware like the gliding rig, and that kind of thing I think even like an old clip add on lenses would disqualify, but they just wanted to be on the iphone. You're allowed to use their party. Apps even having apps store story. Promoting this whole thing with their party camera, which is pretty neat. And on the MAC or does it have to be on the phone? They mentioned this as a whole PDF. You can look like the rules. You're allowed to edit the picture crop. It do the magic adjustment or touch it up in the photos app. But they wanna know that you did that like if it's straight shot, you know, you just say straight shot or if it's if you win the ask you the questions, but these like, I guess. Photoshop to do it needs to be like the photos app out. I would think that the photos on the map would be fine. Yeah. I will say if you want to into this contest, send them the out. Post site in the ten panel filtering through thousands of thousands of Sean I find hashtag tweets, which people are actually going for this send the out to that Email address at the bulb of the pressure lease, and at least that you know, it's actually go into a power that we manageable for them to look through and people tag thick visually sort on my phone everyday anyway, but thousands of day shortly. Yeah. And if you use the Email address like no one's using that except for this contest. It's I think it's shot on apple dot com. "So I think before you'd be like here's the phone you receive a gift card and you pay for the new thing like it's two transactions. But they simplified it to be you, you promise to trade in the phone, and I think they lily reduce the price of what you pay that moment. And that's I think it's a pretty big deal. It's not nothing. To get to get the boost you have to buy a new iphone if you trade in. And then you just get the gift Cottam walk home. You don't get the boost. You don't get the boost. It's gotta be win transaction, but it makes it easier. It makes it a better deal for the consumer. Even if it's not as good of a deal selling it privately. But that's that's more work. And then also online, I'm not sure that you could do online trade in always I think you could for all of this year. But I'm not sure that you could always. And then to add to that we saw the trade-in reached non US markets late in December. So that's barely part of of the number for what they saw. But but it's a big question of like did promoting the trade in and making it easier and making it one transaction to low the sticker price of the iphone help in the US because you've got a month of data to to show not to mention this holiday quarter where people buy gifts, and then you know, and this quarter based on that, you know. Uptick or lack of what do you think is going to do in China, and the UK there's other Mark is that just are just not getting it. And only I think those markets only have the promotion stores not young line. So there's still more to be done to boost that that deal. So I took about everywhere. It's market is limited time. This letter kind of puts it as it's not looking is not just a promotion, they want to convert sales motive to this kind of thing poem Neely. I can see the I mean the mechanics of you can trade in online not just in store, and it can be during it's gotta be during a transaction to reduce the value of the jet transaction with gift card. I'm like, wait. And then reuse the gift card for this purchase. That can be all the time. I think the boost promotion has limited time because that's also got a cut in dappled profit. Right. Like, if you pay more than what you otherwise fit for used iphone, you can then like, refurbish and resell. The numbers were set for a reason and by boosting the value to the customer, then then apple makes less on the whole transaction. I one hundred percent expect that to be a question on the investor and in one of the people be have you seen the promotion of the trade ins make a difference going into the next core essentially has actually helped because if not then what's the point in y you mentioning it here. It's like it's one of the only solution that they have besides we innovate and we have a pipeline yet. They say they say, they're accelerating other initiatives, which implies they have other ideas.
