PS5: Sony gives first look at PlayStation 5
"Episode is going to be all about the playstation. Five and the PSI reveal event that Oh my God showed so much. I'm joined this week by Brian. Town Hey beyond beyond Lucy O'Brien. Beyond. Mexico Bill. Larry Station. Guys We. We have so much to talk about. It's a meeting like the pipe was finally unblocks. Yeah I like. The number of episodes were even like playstation. Games are coming soon. They're coming soon. We're GONNA get into Oliver Reactions the biggest game some of the. Gains in some of the stuff that we didn't see in this place type reveal event I. If you haven't watched it, we'll have some of the bureau going, but please go check out all of these really cold trailers. But I do want to start off of course with the consulate self We were all watching the show together. We were listening. and talking over dischord together, and throughout the whole show we all like. Are they leading up to the console, and they lead up to the council. They showed the design of the PS five. In fact, they should to designs. We have one with the disc drive in it, and then also an all digital edition much like xbox one Saturday. We didn't get prices for this or released, but we did. Get a designed so I want to know everyone. What did you think of this designed Lucy? Let's start with you since I. Know The design has been a big thing for you. Well I mean I as I said on livestream like I've always wanted Sony to go like stupid crazy with this, because like console designs have gotten increasingly conservative over the years, and I've just. I said all along like make this like home is car like just at a whole bunch of we to it? Make it strange like heaven. You know strange shape, and and all that and you know I gotta say they really delivered on this one I mean it is oh, it is a weird looking console. I mean the means already starting as we speak. The names the main factory is generating. It's I love it I have absolutely no idea how it's. GonNa, work, aesthetically might apartment. By afternoon photos of it horizontally I will say there are photos that show you can put it in your. You know which is which is good I, can't I can't think of the district is a little like a little hernia. Mainland China like it's like it's like it's pregnant, but that on the side, so it's like a little hernia on the side Damn. Had On. It would probably look like like the the disc version is off before we went into quarantine. And then there's the other version where we have A. You know we've gained the covert. We have. Got Exactly where my thoughts went to, but yeah Taylor Pooch. You know needs you can work off. You can lose weight in like a week or two. You just gotTa. Just clean eating, no beer for a couple of days. But why would you WANNA do that? The My? Now wants to chow down after snacks. I I'm totally I. This is probably one of the more surprising looking council reveals ever honestly in terms of the first impressions, just in terms of like being something that is so completely nontraditional while immediately screaming video game console at U. obviously a lot of people being incredibly productive, being like it looks like a router I'm old enough to know that this is the same stuff of intend to. We I think. Think, people like they they they get really bored when they just see a big black sideways boxer vertical box but they also don't want it to go to strange in another direction I'm actually all for it. The interesting thing to me is that people have started to lineup using the drive size and the USB size in the front. Exactly how much bigger taller it would be than the series accents obviously sinner. What it is about five to six inches taller with. Is is pretty is pretty sizable I honestly maybe could be four inches, but it's either way it's this. This is a significant size taller than the series x, and it got me looking at my entertainment center, and wondering. Where is GONNA work near to put it sideways. Put it vertical but you know we the second controller I think we kinda hoped that it would aesthetically match the bizarre weirdness of how kind of like weird future future they went with that and the white black color scheme, and they delivered, and I'm all for it. I we're you know we've got to see if there's any other colors that will see for but. I remember when the series came out. People were immediate like Oh. You can put stickers on it. You Skins on it and I. Don't know if I want to do that. This like at all like it feels like putting a bumper sticker on a Bentley. It really feels like just by looking at it that it went through so many different iterations that someone to said okay light lace just like just tear up history books and start afresh in like. Just go not so that like just a as crazy as you want. And then we'll kind of like lower it from there and I really love to see some of those other designs, because it does like we did this on the last show I think Otani use it like it does feel like it could have been a mock-up from a fan.
"hernia" Discussed on Progressive Talk 1350 AM
"What does a hernia two hundred and seventy thousand trees and shrubs were planted yep they moved at the beginning they moved like a six million cubic feet of earth in out that's crazy yeah it did this is just the in the number of trees and shrubs that were planted just mind boggling and it was extremely expensive to run there was something like a five million dollar price tag just to acquire the land there is supposedly that's three times higher than what they projected the actual park was going to cost yeah so that's like a hundred fifty million dollars today and then this is at a time when you know that was that was a bunch of money to but it was also I believe there's a financial panic that really made people say like words this is a crazy amount of money what are we doing but they pressed on the civil war broke out during during this their construction and so construction kind of tapered off for awhile and they went fought the war than everybody came back and when they came back they brought with them an understanding of explosives so that they were able to blow away rock a lot more easily than they were before the war yeah for sure and there's a hint of false rumor or myth that is that what bridges at one AM was supposedly made of cannonballs yeah the harbour bridge I can't remember what it was the something Bo bridge the bridge the bell bridges at the brokerage yeah it was supposedly up until like nineteen seventy four like every book you can read said they had giant cannibals that is found as as its foundation yes like ball bearings because it was like expanded and contracted so much because of the winters no cannibals no they did a renovation on so they're building this thing they finally in eighteen fifty nine in the winter of eighteen fifty nine is when it first opened for public use right and by eighteen sixty five and that park received more than seven million visitors a year as a lot but like you said that we need to follow up on it first they had a bunch of rules in place that kind of kept it for the wealthier new Yorkers for sure so like the history of Central Park is actually a history of crap class struggle in New York big time and when it when it opened initially it was kind of like thanks for the part jumps yes we the taxpayer money yeah and it was like if there is any kind of event orchestra band or anything like that it took place from Monday to Saturday because if you were a labor if you're part of the working class the only day of the week you had office Sunday carriages were very much welcomed and they made up something like fifty or sixty percent of the visitors arrived in carriages yeah in the first decade fifty percent were in carriages but like five percent of new Yorkers were wealthy enough to afford care that says it all right exactly so basically it was just kind of like a stay out kind of thing they have a ban on group picnics yeah that was a big one so like all these you know big immigrant families that love to get together in large groups none of that couldn't do it I go to the cemetery you couldn't ride around in a work Clark so like yeah like if you had heard I struck yeah sorry it's like you want to do is put your family unit to take him out for a Sunday drive no none of those you had to have a nice carriage so they're always all these rules that were in force for a little while and then finally the rest of New York the other new Yorkers said this is B. S. yeah let's let's listen these up a little bit and they finally petition drive for some changes in Central Park finally in the eighteen seventies became a true public park yes like little by little that's when it started to ease on some of these rules right apparently instead was not a fan of children traipsing all over the grass yeah so he wouldn't have been none too pleased with family picnics and all over and on the great lawn yeah obviously that changed over the years as well and since you know mid eighteen seventy five in on it it's been a series of progressive minded people that have opened up the park and democratized it decades and decades but it's also been kind of this push and pull like okay how much for the people should we add some like a swimming pool yeah yeah like some like should we put at the baseball stadium here that was a proposal at one point in time they're like no it's not you let's not go that far for toward the people and I could I softball field right now said okay maybe one or two of those and then it would kind of go back you know like no the people screwed up a little bit so let's take it over and and make up some more rules and it just keeps going back and forth between too much for the people and the people are taken for granted too too strict and we need to kind of loosen it up a little bit just kind of went back and forth like that and it's still doing that today yeah and also I think like the the greensward plan was so revered it was sort of like the constitution it was like for decades and decades they would go back to that original plan and I think about like well this isn't what they intended right yeah until progress is sort of got on board were like well we can actually alter this right keep the spirit of the park and just make it more accessible because softball fields are great there's a really good example of all this in.
Jadeveon Clowney says he's healthy, not ruling out return to Seattle Seahawks

Tom Brady speaks out
"Right twenty years now Tom Brady has said just about nothing about anything at all he went out of his way to say as little as possible when there is a microphone in his face yeah for a good chunk of that time he was pretty quiet on social media as well but then he started to reveal more and more on social media then he became a free agent and then you couldn't shut this guy up then he started making as much noise as possible and now that he's out of New England he's practically fighting to get in front of a microphone in the past few days alone Brady is done a players Tribune piece that's like a million words long and now a two hour interview with Howard Stern and if you thought that in appearance on store and meant that he was going to completely unload on bill E. Bobby and the pats for how they treated him go ahead and re think that one wrong assumptions were made about our relationship out how he felt about me I know genuinely how he feels about me now I'm not going to respond to every rumor or assumption that you made other than what his responsibility as coaches to try to get the best player but the team not only in the short term but in the long term as well so what I could control was trying to be the best I can be in both of those situations also so I got to a point where I was I was an older athlete and he sort of plan for the future which is what is responsibility is and I don't fault him for that and that's what he should be you and that's what every coach should be doing not that I would ever coach but you know if I'm ever in a position of authority I would understand that she I would think I really need to before that interview was I like to get his face with a game on that is a remarkable non answer even for TV forty three and I always love that movie includes this now I'm not going to respond to every rumor or assumption this made and then you proceed to not respond to any rumor or assumption that has been made you just blow right on by you don't say or respond to Jack I mean I was a chance for Brady could have really unloaded on tele check but didn't and clearly he doesn't want to for whatever reason maybe it's because he genuinely feels like Belichick is not bad guy here or maybe it's just because he does not want to air it out in public and he didn't really seem to want to get into whether or not he thought that he deserves more respect from Billy and Bobby for what he had done again I can't do his job and you can't do mine right so the fact that you could say what I'd be successful without him the same level of success I don't believe I would have been but I feel the same and vice versa as well the time isn't there some reasonable your part that he didn't make you a patriot for life no absolutely not no because this is a part for me in my life that experience something very different here's the thing I mean it is tough to get a read on Brady when it comes to Pella Scheck and their relationship obviously it's a complicated relationship put Brady is not going to let you inside that relationship not very much so what's the point of putting yourself out there the way he is if you're not going to say anything at all a new C. Mike doing a many media tore is about getting your side of the story out there it's about you controlling the narrative you know as well as promoting yourself and your brand and this new phase your career but exactly what is his side of the story again this guy's not saying anything what it seems to me is it's like he's framing things and he's being respectful about Jack but it's nothing but love and respect right well me ask you this time if it's nothing but love and respect the hell are you doing in Tampa if it's all respect why are you still in New England and what about all the reports in recent months in recent years about how strange that relationship wise so which is it exactly is it a totally respectful parting of the ways or was Brady really bad about the fact that Belichick would not commit to him in the form of a multi year extension that he wanted because Brady says it's the former but there's a lot of smoke there it was the latter all in speaking of smoke there was the revelation the Brady drank any smoked weed in high school there was that but is it really a revelation quote what kept me from smoking a lot of weed obviously in high school you try that and you drink and go to parties but I always felt like I was letting my dad down he went on quote I do have fun in high school with partying and drinking and smoking weed on occasion but as it got later my high school life does became less and less and quote I mean I guess that's something it shows that he has been a cyborg his entire life did do was not going to Baskin Robbins in high school and asking if they add avocado ice cream that when all the other kids were baking in high school Tommy was well baking in high school at least for a minute or two I mean damn what a wild man homeboy really did get loose yeah not really then again if you don't chop it up for two hours with Howard Stern not answer any questions because how it's not having that in well he didn't admit to any strain in his relationship with the hood Tommy did admit to a strain in his relationship with his wife you know because of the long hours the resistance bands the avocado ice cream the avoidance of night shades and probably that guy Alex rubbing all that lotion on his legs the fact that it was all in during the football season then once it ended he was all in on his off the field business is the fact that he was being a pretty selfish dude and Giselle was not having that you know she didn't feel like I was doing my part to the family you know when she felt like I would play football on all season and she would take care of the house and all seven of season one ended I'd be like great let me get into all my other business activities let me get into my football training and she said they're going when you can do things for the house you're gonna take the kids to school and do that right now is a big part of our marriage that I would I had to like check myself because she's like I have goals and dreams too it's just not this you know do these things either so you better start you know taking care of things about how so two years ago as it related to your laptop off for me I had to make a big transition in my life to say I can't do all the things that I wanted to do football like I used to you know I got to take care of things in my family because my family was the situation wasn't great she wasn't satisfied with our marriage damn like I gotta stop wearing my recovery performance jammies like wow I might have to eat a tomato I mean I guess that's something sort of as much as a wife telling a husband you're not keeping up your end of the bargain do better or hit the brakes I mean not that that's some sort of crazy revelation debut I think that Tommy was taking the kids to school and doing the dishes I mean his duties all ball all day except when he's trying to convince everybody that drinking water prevents sunburn of course she was passed and then there was the admission that he did not throw to some guys that he did not trust I would say I don't have any trust that this guy can you know help us to win the game and I can definitely expressed my opinion to say if you put him out there I'm not going to build the wall because I write you know the whole team is trusting me to do what's right by the team so you can't put someone out there that I don't believe in because if I don't believe in and then it'll work was for the team home shut it down let's go home he went there if you can trust you you weren't getting the ball you know again for Brady that sounds like some kind of crazy revelation he just admitted if he didn't trust you he would not feed you damn homeboy is ruthless no actually homeboy is like every other quarterback in the history of the world in that regard they have guys that they trust to run the right route and make a catch and they have guys that they don't trust the guys do they do trust get the most looks the guys that they don't don't it's pretty much out is ready quarterback ever however there is one thing that did come out of the interview that we did not know something regulatory the fact is he's got a nickname I nicknamed the we didn't know a nickname the comes courtesy of Matt castle by the way did you know the back castle never started a game in college sign Jerome Bettis is from Detroit anyway Matt Cassel never starting a game in college is now the second most important fact about Matt Cassel because the most important fact about castle he's he's the one who got lost Tom Brady the following now it comes it comes from a gaming six when Brady suffered what was ultimately diagnosed as a sports hernia go ahead ask because like like one side looks like I would say like an orange and then the other side was normal and I was like something's wrong here thank you thank Dr Brady something's wrong here we just jump in there what's your first and the fact that one testy was normal and the other with the size of an orange art Modell things you want to get that checked out Tom as you might imagine the fellas in a locker room we're not about to let that go my backup time capsule turn pictures of me like with this once you step on one thank you guys

Maple Leafs Star Mitch Marner out at Least 4 Weeks
"Leafs without Mitch. Marna right now. He's going to be gone for a month after he got kind of tripped up off of center ice face off and mocked up his ankle. So that is going to be a big mess for the leafs who are just playing okay this year or is it or is it. You know. They're not they're not doing that. Great Steve with all this talent it so I'm not saying whatever bench him but like the leaves aren't they're not doing what they were expected to. Oh God no no. You'RE GONNA Invest Thirty four four million three guys. You're kind of expecting the world a lose tonight to the New York islanders five to four Toronto's record nine seven and in four so that actually lost more games than they've won with the kind of payroll they have shame. Shame right now. They're holding onto the second wildcard in there by a point as we record this Sousa Recording and I noticed that Toronto is out of a playoff spot. That's the return of the Blue Team. Elimination Watch don't you
Man drives five hours for surgery insurance won't cover
"And James sleeper drove five hours from central Texas to this surgery center for his hernia surgery a procedure his catastrophic insurance doesn't pay for hospitals back home courted him cash prices of over thirty grand so this process is a nightmare then he went online and found surgery center of Oklahoma's cash price just over three thousand dollars it's like ala carte menu at a Mexican restaurant it's great what do you want that's how much cost patients are quoted anywhere from six to ten times what we have listed online anesthesiologist Keith Smith runs the center we basically taken control of the institutional part and Whittle that down to a razor thin profit margin but they only perform certain outpatient procedures like me or gall bladder surgery and they don't take insurance but the bottom line is there one price they pay cash they have the procedure and
Over 250 mass shootings in the United States so far in 2019
"I mean when somebody says to be there until fifty mass shootings in the country this year my journalist cents goes off and says hold on a second who told you that and I think it's a valid question what are some of the BBC radio five yesterday the the slow talking passive aggressive lefty who I guess right top operates for the York times at one point said I'm a journalist and I'm not some radio guy I love that okay curry I love that because of course you know as well as everybody else that I am a multiple award winning journal yes we all know that except for the Michigan association of broadcasters also the New York Associated Press Michigan Associated Press several times over I was honored by the house of representatives for my my fairness of reporting the events of nine eleven and I was not about the state of Michigan for doing the sent so there's nothing wrong with just being a radio guy in fact I have twelve S. Rogers radio guys we don't have the background I have but shouldn't the little conversation where you know you're in a debate somebody I don't know it's gonna be a debate over to try to solve the problem would you at least one look the guy up first I would yeah casting aspersions going on what's his experience why is he talking about what did you what did you want to say before I do see some radio guy probably should find out and what does that tell us about that guy how good a journalist must you be if you never know who you're talking with yeah yeah I know I got to so we have that which is interesting but when somebody says there were two hundred fifty mass shootings in this country this year alarm bells go off in my journalism sense you know I've got this extra area my brain to my head so big that's just for the journalism what are your you're right now I wasn't I wasn't really my eyes you don't think about my record my mother and the hernia yes she actually had the gall to complain about the size of my head when I was blame her and what what dying found it is not that big these days nine pounds two ounces I beg to differ you were the one giving birth so yeah I feel with it too the guy was easy yeah I do but what do you think we don't remember it because it was horrendous no doubt the horrible day of travel so I want to try to be somebody who helped to solve the problem unfortunately there are so many lies being put up on the left there are so many mistruths factual inaccuracies purposely by the left that and they do it they told all against the wall and you got to clean off the wall before you get anybody's attention so have the ring two hundred fifty mass shootings in this country this year no they've changed the tactic of how they're counting them then that they're not counting the bad guy as one of the victims that's the truth yes because a mass shooting has to be involving for injuries or deaths or more so if it's three innocent people that were harmed and the bad guy get shot and killed by police as a mass shooting now that's how they change the dynamic on on county and also but now as good as it's just say on social media I've seen several times are people have posted today about you because that meant to the fifty mass shootings that were reported that now the United States have we are the most dangerous country in the entire world which is of course on Trulia well one of the one of the safest countries on planet earth yeah go to Somalia or Yemen and tell me that were dangerous okay got so that at the end of the day we've got a break down how they've changed the metric they've all they're also counting gang fights so bad guy versus bad guy is being related to the listening and viewing audience the news consumer as a mass shooting like a movie theater or at Walmart which of course it's not this past weekend it's hardly been reported fifty one shootings in Chicago fifty one in one weekend and when it comes to gun deaths make sure that we're clear sixty percent of gun deaths in this country our because of suicide take away the guns they'll do it a different way I don't want him to do it all and again if you're if you're planning suicide please talk to somebody there is a reason to live and your worth something you also have were police shop the bad guy that's also included in the in the the numbers of shootings and they're presented the thirty five forty thousand shootings a year as everybody who's at Walmart the mall at church or at at at the movie theater that's not what happened it's being skewed purposely to scare the daylights out of you so what do you do about it what you tell the truth two hundred fifty is not true that's a fake number we're not the most dangerous country on earth when it comes to gun violence in fact were sixty first sixty stack second on the list per capita were way down there way down there also when people talk about when you've got stricter gun laws you've got your gun deaths they always point to one city do what city the it is they point to those who want to say take away the guns will be safer as Washington DC New York New York biggest city in the land and the shootings are way down well it's not because the gun laws John Lott who joins me in our three is gonna relay why that's happening I give you a hint number of police officers per per population it's gonna throw that out there I give another hit so good guys with guns are stopping bad guys with guns from doing bad things with guns what but let's look at Chicago fifty one shootings in one week and nobody even looks and I you can get a gun in Chicago now there are some the strictest gun laws on the planet in Chicago Illinois so the strictest gun laws in America on the planet in Washington DC huge crime rate huge shooting rate so when the media give you these numbers and makes these allegations ask them simply work to get that what are you basing that on because not care you know this to be true the media is just saying the two hundred fifty of mass shooting in America here they never see where they got that number yes they just say it yes I will I will damn yeah I got a message one of the fixes guy sake okay believe in total for the shootings as Jay you believe that Bob Dole really should exist here Hey Serra blue don't really should exist here because they want to believe what they hear but I'm telling you right now it's skewed it's wrong it's a lie now it's Suggs white supremacy that did it it's white supremacy you know the first thing that you have to consider for me to to report that as a journalist I have to take the word of a nut job that just allegedly shot dozens of people I have to take his word is somehow truth that's true right here if I'm gonna believe the white supremacy angle I have to believe everything he says right yeah as a journalist I have to okay yes this guy was a white separatist white supremacist he didn't like what he called the invasion from people from Mexico okay I reported it that's actually said in the manifesto it is stupid you know thing that he wrote online but he also said this has nothing to do with trump he also says a planned this before Donald Trump anybody reporting that they carry I was in there today I have heard of reports of that over the weekend but not recently he also says he fears for climate with more people coming into the country it's going to change the climate it's going to affect us adversely that's why he wants to kill some people to Whittle down the population I better reporting the climate change legal Angleton now nobody also user use registered Democrat anybody reporting that no no the guy Dayton registered Democrat do you have a story that says you you want to be a school shooter do you have that I have the story about Dayton and then about what he said about or what has some former students that he went to high school with the only hit list and he also had a rape list yeah this is really want to kill its goal yeah list the girls you want the rape at school this guy's walking around among us instead of being in an institution ask yourself why is he in an institution there's no answer there's no reason why we stop putting people asylums is nuts they should be in institutions and should be monitored because there is there a harm clearly to themselves and to others they didn't just do this one day others knew about it and said nothing say something do something he's got a hit list in a replace wood to laugh at it that's a problem by the way he said he would vote for Liz with Warren and he had a real concern about climate change Elizabeth Warren things got another little bit hesitant but no fear yeah I haven't heard it I really am another major news is set it I heard rush St earlier okay I don't the mainstream news is put it out there so both registered Democrats both climate change alarmist and were saying it's because of white supremacy and the president is the third Reich Biddle Rourke should be investigated by the secret service his language is is actually I think going to incite harm toward the president or his family his language is disgusting Cory Spartacus Booker can control of profanity judge about always gag he's doing the same thing about **** and racism and so on another ready enough let's find out why it's really happening it's not because of guns have been around for the better part of a century the same guns have been around since we were little boys and girls are grandparents for little boys and girls it's Hospital Price Transparency
"Visit Dr Michael Wilks with a second opinion obamacare requires hospitals to list standard charges for services. It wasn't until earlier this year that the federal government actually started requiring that hospitals post their prices so that consumers would know the real charges for tests and labs and procedures will hospitals didn't like the proposals because it would level the playing field allowing people and insurance. Companies and employers to compare services on cost so the hospitals have done what hospitals often do they tried to throw up smoke screens and blocked the policy. Will it turns out that this is one one part of Obamacare that the trump administration actually likes so the policy was enforced starting earlier this year hospitals must be delighted because this price transparency policy has. Has turned into a joke. I recently had my medical students. Look at the U._C.. Davis and U._C._l._a. price postings what are called the charge masters will my students universally agreed to price listings. Things are completely unreadable unsearchable and unintelligible the web pages are encrypted in medical billing abbreviations that make no sense to a doctor or nurse. Let alone consumer. Different hospitals use different terms so there's no way a person can compare one hospital to another the posted charges do not include the price of the doctor so it's a little like buying a refrigerator and not getting being the total price but being told the price list for component pieces for the condenser for the door engines for the ice maker and the like. What are we supposed to do with that information? A patient scheduled safe for outpatient hernia. Aena surgery might look up the price of the surgery but not be aware that it does not cover the cost of the surgeon a surgical assistant or the anesthesiologist. My guess is that the actual price of the surgery is at least double what is posted on the web even if patients could get accurate data on charges would it lower prices will on the one hand are economists who believe that cost transparency will lead to greater competition. Titian and lower costs however there are also economists who argue that medicine is different than say buying a car where there's lots of choices and lots of information in healthcare there are usually few choices and those are further limited but the type of insurance you have research suggests that people do not WanNa price shop when it comes to healthcare they want quality and they expect fairness. Unfortunately that is not what they're getting procedures. Here's drug prices and x-rays can vary by as much as tenfold from one hospital to another for no apparent reason now all of this is fixable if the legislature and governor's wanted to end it.

Hours before UFC 234, middleweight champ Robert Whittaker pulls out of main event with hernia
"Once again, a hernia forcing UFC middleweight champ, Robert Whitaker out of his title defence against Kevin gas delimit UFC, two thirty four that came just hours prior to their match up in Australia. Huge blow for Whitaker who was again forced to pull out of a title defense on home soil in February of two thousand eighteen is well also due to injury UFC president Dana white stay now you were just with Whittaker at the hospital. What kind of update can you give us about his health? He's in the recovery room. I was with his wife and his family. This is one of those freak accidents. Where the doctor said literally never seen this type of injury in a young person. This usually happens to old people as is bowel and his intestines didn't happen yesterday. After the fight. They think he's had this problem, and it's been going in and out. And it's one of those situations had it popped out during the fight. It could have been fatal for him. So this is really serious. Hopefully, we don't know exactly what happened with the doctor, hopefully, they popped it back in and sewed it up. And if that's the case he'll be four weeks. But this was this freak freak injury less than one percent are doctor here at the UFC who's been doing this for thirty years has never seen it ever and his in his career and not in a young person. Well, we just found out twenty minutes ago. The fight is off management has just confirmed with me as well. The fight is off. They're going to issue. How did he find out where does he go from? Here. Let's talk to his manager. Elliot does these who's joining us on the phone right now? Ali how are you? Oh, no. I'm good. It can be better. Listen, I think you have a good minivan. Anderson Silva is great. I'm not sure this is going to be a five round or real. Oh. You know, it is what it is. I feel horrible rubber Whitaker. Yeah. I feel bad for coffee too. Under the right. How is he handling? It has been handling the news Kuban workers. Okay. Calvin was ready. We was ready. The Bishop of his life and. We believe he was going to be that, you know, that middleweight champ. But robert. No injuries taken away from the fight. And like, I said, you know. Breaking news out of the world to the USC USC to thirty four tonight in Melbourne Australia on pay per view, Robert Wood. In a matter of moments in Australia for a hernia certainly wish him the best. I'm curious Ali is Kelvin going to get paid. How's this gonna work because you just went through a training camp? What's the deal? I'm certain UFC has told you what they're gonna do. Can you? Tell us. Yeah. Always come through for me, you know. And he said he was going to kick out. You know, I understand you know, he went to a camp. And and you put a lot of money into it investment. A lot of money into it. And at the end of the day. This is. You know, I'm not worried about him. I know he will be paid. Thanks for doing this Ali very sorry about the news our best to to Kelvin as well. Speak for everyone. Everyone is bummed out about this. We're looking forward to it. I appreciate you coming on for a few minutes. He will take care. He was. And I have no doubt in my mind. Dana white and you'll see them because they're taking care of my guys sounds good. Thank you Ellie. Let's go back to the phone lines. Now talk to more fans. Breaking news again Robert Whitaker out of tonight's made event. Ernie a- surgery scheduled for Madame moments from now in Melbourne devastating news, not only for the UFC. But for Robert Whitaker who continues to get all these freaking bad breaks time. And again, he had shingles. Prior to the last time that they were in Melbourne with him headlining that card was supposed to be against Luke rock hold now. Just hours before the event he has to pull out and is going under the knife Joseph Detroit. How are you? Good. How about you area? I'm doing okay. Good. I just got a few questions for you that I think they should let the winner of tonight. And Calvin fight for the official title Whitaker should be stripped. It's just my opinion. Well, I wanna see how long he's out for this is definitely a bad break. But I typically like to subscribe to the rule that if you don't defend your title or you're not scheduled to fight within a year. Then you should be stripped in this case he last fought in June. So let's see how far he's out. Let's see how long he's out for. I should say let's see how long of a recovery this is needed. And then let's talk about stripping in. But I think right now, it's a little premature to talk about stripping. Because he pulled out last year knee injury. I think it's better for him. You don't have to take some time off. But my second question is not question opinion. True. They're gonna make McGregor verse Copley for the I think it should be Tony Emporia for the interim. Yeah, that's Donald Surani just talking right now from what I'm hearing the interim belt isn't being discussed. I don't think a belt is needed for that kind of fight. I don't think a belt elevates that kind of fight certainly not an interim title. So at this juncture, I think that's just cowboy talking and look he's going to get the fight. It seems like that's the front runner. I don't think you need to push for an interim thing anyone wants it, quite frankly, I think the interim belt would would almost like soil that that fight. I don't think anyone wants to see an interim belt online. I don't think either guys should be fighting for an interim belt when you have guys like Tony dust emporium ally. Doing what they've done as of late. Let's go back to the phone lines and say Hello to Corey in California, Corey how are you? Hey, I'm good. How you doing? I'm doing. Okay. Some some disappointing news, but we still have a car tonight. But yeah, it's it's a bummer. These things happen from time to time in in mixed martial arts and. I mean, this is a big one especially because it's the Australian who's now out of the card. Yeah. Honestly, like you said before man, I don't know how these injuries happened the day of the fight. How much are you actually doing? Such a serious injury. But I don't know it's fight game. And it happens. But. So my original copies I called about it. Now trying to shake up. I was gonna say do you think that Anderson is? His own legacy a little bit by taking these bigger fights with the much younger guys are like the fights with whatever, obviously, they're bigger fights. And he's a big name. And do you think that you have tarnished by throwing them into a fight with Israel, just because if Anderson, but then it turns around and now Anderson is card having a big name for Israel to fight. So do you think that enersen should lay off he's bigger fights? Or do you think he's finer you think his legacy Jenner hurt in the end after all this look if we're talking about tarnishing legacies? The only thing that's maybe tarnished his legacy. So to speak is the fact that he was caught with PD's twice other than that. I mean, I don't think opponents will tarnish anyone's like seeing fact to meet on the elevates your legacy because you're finding the toughest guys even as you're in your swansong so to speak. I like the fact that he's taken this fight. Everyone thought it was a mistake. It's an opponent that he thinks he could beat he's fourteen years older. He feels like maybe he's not as experiences him. Maybe he hasn't fought the kind of competition that he's. So I don't think this is. I mean, imagine he pulls it off great story George Foreman. It's like Randy tour all over again. So I honestly don't think that he's tarnishing his legacy on this one. Let's go to one quick call before we take another break Hamilton, Ohio. What's up man areas? A pleasure speaking with you. I want to go back to the UC days, or so I started hearing your voice. Boy that was handled by the UFC. I am so proud that you've come to where you had with the hard work. You've done to put yourself in today's position. Thank you know, as far as what's happening transplanted melborn sad. And that's the core. So the nature of the game. My question to you is at forty three year old is now put himself in position we he's probably going to be having to save this card. I understand that. There's not a lot of four weeks on your old man at his weight. They can do anything except maybe defend themselves. Does he really have a chance to see wing? And do you see this only in the heavyweight World War forty yours can compete one or two times? This gentleman is not tarnishing his world. It just a building him being allowed to do this because of his name and his past of fighting really realistically can this man really compete at this level with this young kid. I mean that remains to be seen. I don't think it's a bad matchup firm. In fact, I'd say he's too big of an underdog. I'm curious to see if he can turn back the clock tonight. But yeah, it's a great call to great point. The best news is this flight hasn't been canceled. So we're about to find out in a matter of moments in a matter of hours, whether or not Anderson Silva can hang with Israel to Sonya after the break. We're going to be joined by my colleague, my partner shell son. And he's in Melbourne. I want to get his take on things. He knows coming gasoline almost better than anyone. He was the one who drafted him on the ultimate fighter way. Back when devastating news Robert Whittaker's out of tonight's UFC two thirty four main event. And I just got details about how it all went down. I'll tell you about all that and more right after the break. You're listening to Hawaii's may show right here on ESPN radio and ESPN app this

"With the c sections as you'll even with the c sections. I think when you when you had hired a hernia those are actually one of the better once they get the inguinal hernias which down the growing area. Those are the tough ones those it can be a real challenge when you're dealing with that. So a couple things I'd recommend to you for Heidel. Hernia there is a little technique. It's a maneuver that can help retract where the stomach has pressed up through the diaphragm because that's what a high. It'll hernia is this weather's a weak spot in the diaphragm the stomach pokes way up through there. So one of the best things you can do for Heidel hernia. There's a little technique that either you can go to a DO, which is an osteopathic physician or a D C, which is a chiropractic physician both of them usually have been trained in this little technique that will help attract the stomach back out through the diaphragm. And that's why I recommend you do not might take three or four times for it to be done. But it works. Very very, well and helps tremendously. When you're dealing with something like a a hernia. And it takes you know, like, I said a couple of therapy sessions or Nick sessions as they as they call it, and they'll be able to go in and do that now from dietary perspective, your physician was right? You definitely need to drops white because that does aggravate the condition when you're carrying the excess pressure in the abdomen. You could call us all you can get in touch with us, also and the dollar Bank instant access kitty, K radio dot com. Okay. Umbilical hernias. And that's where I'm Billick record started out when we were born, right? And and sometimes that's a weak area is right. He had a hold there before you were born, and sometimes all of the sudden when you're lifting or sometimes slowly over time it gets stretched out and something gets through there. That's not supposed to be there. And then you have a hernia fixed, and Dr king have you been involved with any umbilical hernias that are rich. I see those in the mommies who've had kids and and the kids have done their job in terms of stretching out the core. Domino muscles and in. So doing they've created his umbilical hernias. So the moms will come to see me about their bellies about the potential Comey toxin, and we'll fix the umbilical hernia at the same time. Okay. Hop out some times, I remember back in medical school and surgical clinic. And saw we would see some elderly patients that would come in. That would have a hernia that was so large the hurting our was down almost to their knees. And they had worn things like trusses and Arnesen on to try to to treat the hernia trusses sort of this help doctor. I'd no not at all. So it's a full sense of of, you know, thinking that, you know, I'm fine if trust and and it's not not at all. And this is the issue with hernias unnaturally is gonna get only larger Greg. There is no medication anything that makes them smaller. So as as they get larger patients should get it fixed before you get to that point before you have to call scrotal hernia, you know, things so so much in there. And with what we have will offer a lot of minimally invasive approaches, so as you can see patients can have quicker recovery's come back and start back to their normal lives any activity shorter period of time. So should not be afraid of getting fixed and not waiting until there's debt large as you just described it, how long have we been able to repair hernias laproscopy how how long has that procedure been around this Beyonce's the mid nineties, but a we we've kind of pushed the envelope in a sense is trying to operate more than more to our patients because of the benefits you whenever you do minimally invasive through. Incision. Sometimes you can catch both sides. If they have hernias inguinal hernias, for example, on on both sides, right and left. We can do it at the same time through the same incisions. We know that it's less pain and quicker recovery. So there's so many sloop advantages to that. And this is why we can now it's one of the things we offer not only for her England hernias was also for abdominal wall hernias as well helping patients get back on their feet cooker. Okay. Dr nelson. How long for typical one-sided hernia? How long does that take a surgical procedure itself is usually less than an hour? It depends on how complicated it is. How big it is if they've had repaired before. But on a typical simple unilateral one sided, you know, hernia operation, it's less than an hour. Okay. And and how about anesthesia, so it's a general anaesthetic if you're gonna have leprous copy surgery you have to be paralyzed. So we can get work underneath the Muslim. That's actually one of the advantages of doing it lepres copy is you're you're gonna patching the whole from the inside if you think of it like patching. Retire. I'd rather put the patch inside the hole where the pressure from the body is going to kind of keep it there rather than putting it outside the whole word kin to push it off. And so I prefer that that technique whenever possible, and Dr king's sometimes you're procedures probably could take several hours. Right. That's right. That's right. Well, as I said before these tend to be with a redo redo hernias where we go through the previous usual, mid line incision, and Dr Nelson or one of his colleagues a helps free up the bowel from that hernia which can be very intimidating task. And then you do your work. And so that whole procedure could take several hours. Two to three hours show. What what is the largest dirty ever, Dr king? We we see them all, but we we've seen hernias twenty centimeters across and thirty centimeters and the up and down position we've seen skin that is so thin that the skins about to burst. Really? So the tissue is not very good to work with us. Correct. And they can really be miserable. Two can't they can be miserable. When they have a hernia as large as that. I mean, their their activities of daily living are really limited because of the hernia they're they're they're they're they're fearful because their skin is thin and their bowel is essentially on the outside of the body. And for all practical purposes, there are spending their days trying to hold up their bowels in their arms as they walk around in life. Now, do you get involved with high it'll hernias all or is that done through primarily the SAFA Jill and lung institute that type of thing through most of those are handled through our colleagues Adi's off GIO lying institute having said that personally when patients again back to morbid obesity when a better approach for those patients to have a gastric bypass as opposed to just regularly fixing they hate hernia at which time, I do both. I fixed the height hernia intake. Take care of the underlying problem, you know, because obesity is a major risk factor for all kinds of furnace Hitler, and that can be done laparoscopically at the same time. Yes. Ninety nine point nine percent of the time. Okay. Very good. Okay. Let's let's start with you Dr Nelson. What do you see out there in the future of I don't know how much of all of this was available your training? But you know, as surgeons as physicians we have to learn new things of on a day-by-day basis sometimes. But what are you see out there? The next ten fifteen years talking about hernias. That's a great question is definitely a volved a lot. Even in the last ten years with the not just not the advent of laproscopy, but the refining of the technique. I think it's gotten a lot a lot better. And some of the different types of meshes that we use of change like I was talking about before they're a three dimensional shaped piece of mesh that's designed to fit in that space now, and I think those will continue to evolve I think the there's some advantages and with with the robotic surgery that some of our colleagues one of my partners does as well in the hernia center and using the using the robot to do prepare to kneel meaning outside of the cavity where the intestines are. That's where we do. Our our Inc. Guido surgeries. But even for the ventral hernias the mid line of dominoes surgeries on doing that in the prepaid. Neil space is something that you can do with the robot. And I think there are some some real advantages to doing that just more minimally invasive options. Really, okay. Dr king said question, do you. What do you see out there? Ten fifteen years on. He's very very complex ones that you get involved with right now are implant choices tend to be manufactured or biologic and the hybrid technology with a combination of the synthetic and the biologic mesh, I think is a hot topic. And I think that will continue to grow within the industry, but to see a future mesh that's strong enough to hold you together, but dissolve over time and and wither away. I think would be wonderful. Okay. And there's research being done. Absolutely for that. Right. Yes. Yep. Okay. Well, we are up almost for last next to last break. But. This is medical frontiers. We're talking about the hernia center that Allegheny health network. So during the break would be a great time to call as I said, this is the last show for.

"Okay now also but well they have the same kind of symptoms a lot of times people think that in this very normal but now what did they tell you do they give you any options did he what did he tell you that they wanted to do tell me the gonna diet and try to lose some way i kind of got a little pet the little fat on me three kids and had four c sections and and and to see sex for than one tool reversal well you know even with even with the c sections angel even with the c sections i think when you when you've had a high a hernia those are actually one of the better ones they get the inguinal hernias down in the growing area those are the tough ones and when you get those it can be a real challenge when you're dealing with that so there's a couple of things i'd recommend to you for heidel hernia there is a little technique it's a maneuver that can help retract where the stomach has pressed up through the diaphragm because that's what a heidel hernia is it's a this is a weak spot in the diaphragm the stomach pokes all the way up through there so one of the best things you can do for heidel hernia there's a little technique that either you can go to a do which is an osteopathic physician or dc which is a chiropractor physician both of them usually have been trained in this little technique that will help attract the stomach back out through the diaphragm and that's why i recommend you do now it might take three or four times for it to be done but it works very well and helps tremendously when you're dealing with something like a high at a hernia and it takes you know like i said a couple therapy sessions or neat week sessions as they as they call it and they'll be able to go in and do that now from a dietary perspective your physician was right you definitely need to drops weight because that does aggravate the condition when you're carrying the excess pressure in the abdomen so if you can out encourage you to get started on the anti inflammatory diet it's in my book empowering your health and it's real simple to follow very simple eat three meals a day and each of those meals have three of the main food components in it that's equal amounts of lean protein sources like chicken fish beef for eggs low glycaemic carbohydrates in the former fruits and vegetables and good healthy fats your.
