Author Gregg Jarrett: John Durham Knows Just How Corrupt the FBI Is

"He wrote the books on Russian collusion and the witch hunt. Welcome back to America first with Greg Jarrett. I have to return Greg to one more and more question with regards to John Durham and the recent flurry of activities. This is a man who he stayed in the shadows for most of his career. There's only two photographs of them. Whatever you see, you know, an article about Darwin's the same photograph of him scowling coming out of a courtroom. So it's a guy looks to take his job seriously, has a pretty serious reputation, and one of the things he's known for as what was it former Connecticut U.S. attorney is that he puts feds in prison. So he has put corrupt FBI special agents and supervisory special agents in prison for breaking the law. As a result, I just want to what is it Jen Psaki says circle back on why you think the indictments are going to stay at this low level of people lying to the bureau and not actually target the people inside the bureau who were the architects and the implementers of the Russia hoax and the witch hunt? Is that just a gut sense of what you witnessed in the last two years? Well, you know, as much as I sometimes rely on confidential sources and leaked information is any journalist has terms to be commended. I mean, he's remained silent. He doesn't leap, no leaks come out of his investigation. He is a serious guy. He knows how corrupt the FBI is because he's put FBI folks behind bars. You know, I do think he is still looking at people at the FBI and others who lied in the Pfizer court weren't applications to surveillance spy on the Trump campaign. And I still think that's a possibility. You know, it would certainly be proper justice to hold people at the top, like mccabe and Comey and others. I mean, they signed off on these fisa warrants. Again, and again. They swore under penalty of perjury, the information was true. It wasn't true. I'll just give you one example. They vouched for the credibility over and over again of Christopher Steele. Yet, they didn't disclose to the court that they'd fired Christopher Steele as a confidential source for what for lying. So when you say to the goal, he's reliable in these credible, that's a lie. And they kept vouching for the veracity of the dossier when they knew and we now know that they knew that it was all a pack of

Gregg Jarrett on Adam Schiff's Disgraceful Legacy

"Greg Gerry, you sent me a piece on Friday entitled Adam Schiff's disgraceful legacy. Right there, we heard him say the following. Anyone who lied to Christopher Steele. Or the FBI should be prosecuted. What about chairman of the intelligence committee of the House of Representatives who lied to America for four years about their having seen the quote incontrovertible evidence of Russian collusion between the Trump campaign and Moscow? There are a lot of liars associated with the great Russia hoax and the ensuing witch hunt. Hillary Clinton, Christopher Steele, Igor steel source, I'd add James Comey to the list. But in my book, I wrote in the column, the most remorseless liar of all the flagrant huckster of hysteria over the Russia hoax is none other than Adam Schiff. Which Sean Hannity loves to call shifty shift. I mean, he is the most mendacious of them all. I mean, he is the top of the party not in terms of who lied the most and most often for four years. That's right. You know, he'd walk a mile for a camera shift did hundreds and hundreds of interviews with the stock up media. They didn't know a damn thing because they didn't bother to actually investigate any of the allegations or try to corroborate any of the dossier they simply took it as gospel as if it were scripture from Moses. You know, and so they are winning accessories the media. But they were played for fools. They were winning dupes. And at the hands of people, like Adam Schiff, who kept insisting over and over again, week after week year after year for years that he had in convertible evidence that Trump was a Russian asset who plotted with Putin in the bowels of the Kremlin to steal the 2016 election he said he had concrete evidence, absolute evidence, he'd seen it with his own eyes. We're just on the verge of the big reveal and he promised again and again, he was going to reveal it, but oh, you know, it's classified information right

Commentator Gregg Jarrett Discusses the Riveting Rittenhouse Trial

"Greg Jarrod, welcome back to one on one. Great to be with you. Greg, you you've been in this tour tree business of the intersection of law and politics for a while, let's just put it a while. Is this I'm not a lawyer? Greg, and I come to this as somebody who sat in the back of a court once. When I got a speed, I was driving too fast and I had to go to a court salmons and I thought I've never been to a court. So I went in three hours early and I sat in the back just to look at what a county court was like as a newly minted American citizen. And it was fascinating. But it wasn't what we witnessing on TV screens across the nation for the last week. Is this a normal trial? Is this witness badgering is the judge saying, don't you be brazen with me? Is this par for the course? Give us your expert opinion on what we are seeing. Well, courtrooms can be high drama and, you know, centuries ago before television before the Internet before core TV where I worked for 8 years. You know, people would flock to courthouses in courtrooms in some ways it was their source of information, but it was also their source of entertainment and this certainly has not been entertaining, but it has been riveting to watch this unfold. And you see on the screen, Kyle rittenhouse made a compelling witness. He broke down. He sobbed. You know, I really hate to see somebody like LeBron James mock it with laughing emojis if LeBron James had actually watched much of the trial. He wouldn't have made such a stupid

"We're talking to Molly Hemingway a terrific writer also the author of one of the hottest books out there right now rigged How the media big tech and the Democrats seized our elections Molly you know listen there are two people out there who I think are the biggest narrative busters on the right So I'll throw Sean Davis in there too You and Tucker You go throw a hit with an S in front of a grenade and the tent and a heartbeat if you think you think something's up No matter the media penalty and you're frequently attacked for it like Tucker and Sean are as well But the weird thing is you usually turn out to be right I mean you would debunk the hoax Russia hoax immediately You had shown the spygate story to not be a hoax But doesn't it speak to the power of the media over our collective Borg like psyche in this country on the left right now that people like you me Sean Tucker Greg Jarrod John Solomon We're all considered by the mainstream code Misinformation specialists and yet we've been right about everything Like there's nothing in your book you don't pack up with footnotes The Zucker box thing happened the Russian thing was old It's like again this did not speak to the power of the media that we're considered the outsiders and yet we were actually factually correct the entire time Oh it's amazing But I also think that it's important that people celebrate the marginalizing of our corporate media They have so much power They set narratives They do horrible things with their power And they are in my view the most powerful unaccountable political actors in the country But on the other hand nobody is believing there BS anymore and that's good And Democrats are and that's bad But their credibility is at an all time low I think the latest Gallup poll had 9% of Republicans believing corporate media and only a third of independence If not for Democrats they would just be totally in the

Beto O'Rourke Steps Into Texas Gubernatorial Race Against Abbott in 2022

"The Democrats have an agenda to try to turn Texas blue. They keep saying it's going to turn blue. Big news today, beto o'rourke, he's back. Running for governor challenging Greg Abbott, let me get the dean of Texas talk show hosts responds to that big breaking news. For those who don't remember 2018, beto o'rourke came out of virtually nowhere in El Paso member of Congress and managed to excite enough Democrats that he came to within two and a half percentage points of Ted Cruz, our biggest conservative rockstar. That was 2018. This is three years later. What's different now? Well, one thing he's running for governor and not for the Senate, the other thing is three years of time passing. The questions become, does he still have the same kind of moths to a flame drawing power for Democrats that he had three years ago? I think the short answer to that is yes. Democrats are naturally thrilled by the notion of having a rockstar like beto, run for governor. But you know what other kind of group beto energizes? Conservative voters. Who for three years have had a good solid memory of how crazy he is on the Second Amendment. In deeply wrong he is on boarders and the economy. He is saddled with the albatross of Joe Biden in this gubernatorial race. And so in taking calls on the fly about it, this very morning, I found two types of voters who were stoked that beto is running. Democrats ready to vote for him? Republicans ready to vote against him, so the key question is going to be which is the larger group. I think beto finishes closer to Greg Abbott, presuming he's the nominee. He does have competition. He finishes closer to Abbott than any other Democrat would have, but do I think beto is going to be the next governor of Texas? I decidedly do

"Will skew things a little bit, <Speech_Male> but they have not been good <Speech_Male> against the run. It seems to <Speech_Male> be a good matchup <Speech_Male> for <Speech_Male> the Patriots in that regard <Speech_Male> and that they want to run <Speech_Male> the ball and be physical <Speech_Male> with Damien Harris and I assume <Speech_Male> or Monday streams <Speech_Male> and might be active <Speech_Male> this week <Speech_Male> to give them a dual <Speech_Male> threat. What do you <Speech_Male> think about that <SpeakerChange> side of the <Silence> ball? <Silence> Well, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> you know, I <Speech_Male> think that that's an area <Speech_Male> that <SpeakerChange> they <Speech_Male> can exploit <Speech_Male> what the Chargers <Speech_Male> bring to the table. <SpeakerChange> I think <Speech_Male> the Chargers are <Speech_Male> not <Speech_Male> real strong at the linebacker <Speech_Male> position. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> You know, one thing about bringing <Speech_Male> its daily is he <Speech_Male> will be very multiple <Silence> with his coverage look. <Speech_Male> So, <Speech_Male> you know, I think <Speech_Male> that the running <Speech_Male> game is a factor. <Speech_Male> I've always <Speech_Male> liked Damien Harris. <Speech_Male> He just seems to get <Speech_Male> nicked up. <Silence> But I think <Speech_Male> he's a <Speech_Male> he's a physical <Speech_Male> inside runner <Speech_Male> who's got some juice <Speech_Male> to him. So he's not <Speech_Male> just a big body, even <Speech_Male> though he's what, I don't know, <Speech_Male> two 20s in that <Speech_Male> range, is he? Yeah. <Silence> He's a pretty big <Speech_Male> dude. <Speech_Male> But I've <SpeakerChange> always <Speech_Male> liked him. <Speech_Male> I think Stevenson <Speech_Male> could well be up <Speech_Male> this week. You're right and have <Speech_Male> a nice one two punch <Speech_Male> of physicality <Speech_Male> and toughness <Speech_Male> inside. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> To sustain offense <Speech_Male> and keep <Speech_Male> Mac Jones <Speech_Male> in a position where <Speech_Male> they can be <Speech_Male> proactive with their <Speech_Male> pass game as <Speech_Male> opposed to being reactive <Speech_Male> and long yarded <Speech_Male> situations <Speech_Male> where the defense tends <Speech_Male> to have the tactical <Speech_Male> advantage. <Speech_Male> So I would <Speech_Male> expect the run game to <Speech_Male> be a factor. I think the <Speech_Male> charges are somewhat <Speech_Male> susceptible to <Speech_Male> that. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> that <Speech_Male> would not surprise me at all. <Speech_Male> And I think they want to <Speech_Male> play that way. I mean, you would <Speech_Male> know better than I, <Speech_Male> but <Speech_Male> there's no way they <Speech_Male> want Mac Jones dropping <Speech_Male> back 40 times <Speech_Male> by choice. <Speech_Male> They don't want <Speech_Male> that to happen. Unless, <Speech_Male> you know, hey, look, <Speech_Male> if for whatever reason <Speech_Male> charges jumped out <Speech_Male> 24 6 in the <Speech_Male> second quarter, everything <Speech_Male> changes. But <Speech_Male> I don't think they're <Speech_Male> going into this game with <Speech_Male> the idea <Speech_Male> that Mac Jones is going to <Silence> toss it all <SpeakerChange> over the yard. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Yeah, absolutely. <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> haven't seen a ton of film on <Speech_Male> the Chargers, Derwin James <Speech_Male> with him coming <Speech_Male> back from injury this year. <Speech_Male> Any difference in <Speech_Male> his play any difference <Speech_Male> in how <SpeakerChange> Brandon staley <Speech_Male> is using <Speech_Male> him as oh yeah, <Speech_Male> he's and I <Speech_Male> think staley <Speech_Male> has said this, but the <Speech_Male> film shows that <Speech_Male> he is the most <Speech_Male> critical piece because <Speech_Male> they play him at four <Speech_Male> or 5 different positions. <Speech_Male> So he can <Speech_Male> do a lot of different <Speech_Male> things. <Speech_Male> And they'll <Speech_Male> use him that way. So <Speech_Male> I guess in this game <Speech_Male> it would depend on <Speech_Male> situational <Speech_Male> football. What the <Speech_Male> situation is <Speech_Male> in terms of how do they choose <Silence> to use him? <Speech_Male> I think <Speech_Male> if <Speech_Male> the Patriots <Speech_Male> continue to play a <Speech_Male> good amount at a 12 <Speech_Male> personnel with the two <Speech_Male> tight ends, you'll <Speech_Male> see him at times match <Speech_Male> up, but you'll <Speech_Male> see him at times <Speech_Male> beyond <Speech_Male> and on the ball defender <Speech_Male> and the run game. <Speech_Male> So <Speech_Male> you'll see he'll be <Silence> used in multiple <SpeakerChange> ways. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Interesting. <Speech_Male> All right, <Speech_Male> Greg, well, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> that was a ton of information. <Speech_Male> I <Speech_Male> really appreciate it on <Speech_Male> behalf of our listeners <Speech_Male> and the readers at Boston <Speech_Male> sports journal dot com. <Speech_Male> I greatly appreciate <Speech_Male> you <Speech_Male> coming <SpeakerChange> aboard and <Speech_Male> lending your insight. <Speech_Male> No, Greg, <Speech_Male> I enjoyed, you know, <Silence> you know how much I love talking <Speech_Male> football. <Speech_Male> Yeah. <Speech_Male> Absolutely. And i feel what i need to do is is i need to glorify god with my life and say in the midst of my suffering. God has been there with me. Look here's the bottom line. If god didn't come through for me during this time i would have given up preaching. Trust me when i tell you that but he did and has come through and does come through from. He gives me the strength to get through each day. So that the what. And the who of course is the lord himself and now i have a ministry to other people who've lost loved ones especially children. I never asked for it honestly. I didn't want it but now that it's happened to me. I have an understanding of it. And i'm not saying i understand what everyone's going through but i find people come to me a lot and asked me for help and and i'm wanting to help them because i want to say because when it happens to you it seems like your world is ended in being preacher. Didn't give me a leg up on this..

"So thanks for joining me for this podcast but we have a guest speaker and this is young man. I've known since he was just a wee little boy and his name is will. Graham now will is a son of franklin. And jean graham and he is the grandson of billy graham and will also travels around the world like his dad and his grandfather in preaches. The gospel he also was the director of the billy. Graham training center at the cove in asheville north carolina. Great place to go and study the but got us really put his hand on will and it's been so exciting to see how the lord has just got him ready for the work he's called them to do and before bill will comes out and speaks tonight. I thought it introduced them. Let's walk them. We'll we'll come on out. have you now will. A lot of people have been wondering about how your grandfather is doing in the news that your father has asked that people being prayer for billy so what is his status. How is this health right now. My grandfather back in november seventh. Turn ninety five and he's actually been in the best way to describe it. He's just old and His his own his birthday his health started to turn for the worst. There's nothing wrong with them is just old. And so there's nothing medically wrong but just old age and his life is starting to turn but grandfather's always said you know one day. You're going to hear that. Billy graham is dead and he said this is what my grandfather said. He's at one day. You're going to hear that. Billy graham is dead. He said but don't believe it for on that day. I'll be more lives than any other time in my life. He's been his whole life. Travelling the world preteen and we just had this great outreach in the united states and it was on the fox news channel and also in thousands of homes around the country called my hope america and he probably reached as many people as he's reaching a long time in one night using media didn't he did and this is. This is all because what god's been doing and you know I mean how. How in the world would fox news ever put something like this on on their television. I mean you kind of wonder how in the world well this is. This is this the top god that we serve because god introduced my grandfather to rupert murdoch and nineteen fifty nine in melbourne australia. When rupert was a nobody he's just owner of the jocks news sky news and europe and the uk. And and he's he's. He's an ozzy from melbourne over. His father's business. Who had just died and father went there nine. Nineteen fifty-nine nine the head of businessman's lunch and roundtable and my grandfather was sitting beside him. And that's how rupert murdoch and billy graham so all these years and now river yeah we want to put this on our programming and we said thank you so much and your dad told me franklin. Your dad told me that fifty five thousand people made a profession that they know about one night from that broadcast going out to the fifty five thousand people. That's great so we'll tell us. Tell us about yourself now. How long have you been married. I've been married. We celebrate fifteen years this year. Well congratulations you. Have three children children now. Did you always feel just because you know you're the grandson a billion the son of franklin you're to end up as a preacher or did you gonna fight that or what. No i never fall it but my there was no pressure. A lot of people wonder if there's always pressure to be a preacher and evangelist and my dad did very good at protecting us from that. He didn't because he got that pressure and he didn't want his own children. Have that pressure. So dad protected us for example when i was starting to get into college. He'll say hey we want we'll come and speak or will. I wasn't really speaking at the time. But you know we'll we won't will and my dad said you can't ask him unless you asked me i and so then after our time dad said no will you can make up his own mind on that stuff but dad always protected us grateful for that. I mean we grew up normal. I mean we grew up on a farm in north carolina. Pig cows horses motorcycle. And that's about your father. What about not getting. I couldn't miss that. Opportunity had to jump in there. So you did. I've been to your house and you grew up in a country environment as a normal life. But god put his hand on the and now you're traveling around the world and where some of the places you've been where some of the places you're going. Yeah this we've been very blessed and we only go where we get invitations. We don't we don't spend the globe and say oh lou hawaii. This looks good this year. And we go where we're invited and so this past year we ran I was invited to india. It's been there many times. I've been there many times. This is the first time. I was denied. Entry into india. Why is that and so. I'd missed up last time with some. I didn't get in trouble with the law. That sense but i went to a restricted area. Oh you have to go present your passport to a certain individuals. I gave my passport to an individual. Go get registered. I thought it was done. They didn't do it. And so and i didn't know is ignorance on my part and so when i left the country they said well we'll didn't follow our procedures. He can't come back in. It's all cleared up now. Yeah but supposed to go to india. Didn't quite make. It went to africa this year to kenya. Preached was in australia earlier this year. Be going back australia this coming year. Just got back from thailand and japan and japan. God is really doing something unique in japan right now. Some things that most christian pastors there and japan have never seen before. And we're seeing a god really begin to do something the mighty hand which has never happened before so there is a half. The japanese are christians less than half of one percent. So a mega church would be fifty people. I mean there's there's twelve megachurches here but guys some great things and we're looking forward. What guys can continue tonight. What are you going to talk to us about. I'm gonna talking about a little bit about the christmas story and specially it's that time of the year. I'm sorry to believes less than two weeks away. Oh so this is the only time i get the preach christmas so i'm gonna be talking about herod tonight and the wiseman that's gonna be. Thanks for being here well. Let's think we'll be here cement. Thank you everybody. Greg laurie here. Thanks for listening. To our podcast. And to learn more about harvest ministries please subscribing consider supporting this show. Just go to harvest dot org. "His home was better than going to the white house. Had been to the white house. Quite a few times. I've had the privilege of standing in the oval office twice praying for the president and both of those occasions that degrade honor but i was more excited to go to the home of billy graham. It's it's a log home. Ruth found all kinds of old wood from barnes and other things to us to build it. It had heard decorating touch throughout it. It was a humble home. Some of the furniture was a bit threadbare it was a lived in home. It was a real place and they had a fireplace with a mental in carved in wood. Where the words a mighty fortress is our god in german. It was a massive fireplace. And and i would just sit there in front of that fireplace. And there's books laying around in the open it up and one is autographed by by golden my year. And here's another book autographed by mohammed ali. Is there people. Billy interacted with some of whom came to his home. There in treat many presidents came to visit him there. President obama Toward the end of his term as president went to visit billy at mon- treat and we just built friendships and bridges to these people and share the gospel with them. But you know even sit down and a meal. Ruth would go into the kitchen and she had this sign hanging over her sink. That said divine service done here three times a day. They're a doormat when you walked up to the front door that said not you again exclamation mark which i was. Ruth's humor. She was very funny very quick. Laugh she was in every way. Billy's equal. I enjoyed being with her as much as i enjoyed being with him. You know. I was always a little bit honestly intimidated by billy. I tried to be myself around him but he was. billy graham. Were with ruth very comfortable. And i would joke more and she had such great insights and so many wonderful things to say. Once sitting in their home and mantra i was just starting my evangelistic ministry. And i said oh. Ruth of these doors are opening up. You know to preach the gospel and stadiums. And and i i think i need to really brush up more on my apologetic now. And she said greg. You just preached the gospel. That's what bill always did. She call them bill on that occasion. And i remembered that not like. I don't need to know my apologetic. But she reminded me of my. What my real mission was. And and by the way she was a great cook and the food was fantastic and it was just so much fun being with them in that environment with their animals. They see a few german shepherds and You know i just savored. Every moment of it and those are some of the greatest moments of my life. "A pretty big deal. And i said all right god if you're real if you really exist and i've seen all these christians with their happy faces. Few real changed my life. I'm gonna give you a chance. And i took it ripped it up. Threw it down and said all right. So i went back to school. The christians came up to me and just welcoming in the fellowship. And all god bless you brother greg. I didn't like can come brother. Greg but i put up with it. Praise the lord all those words. I had a hard time. Praise the lord you know and so they said hey man you know you've got gotta really watch out. You're going to get tempted by the devil tempted by the devil. You believe in a devil all yelm. Satan's real you gotta watch out for him. He's really subtle. He's gonna come to you and give you all the things that you want just resistant. I thought all mind. And i went to my next class and this girl that was in the class a really attractive girl who i had been wanting to meet for a year but i was just totally afraid to talk to a really good-looking girl. Non-christian girl came up to me and said. Hey what's your name. I said greg. Hey i've never met you before you know i kinda like you. Oh wow she goes. Why don't you come up to the mountains with me for the weekend. And i went. It's it's the devil and it was. It was and i realize satan was tempting me and i said no and i was saying to myself. What are you doing. I said no no i believe in god now and then she just. Oh wow you know and got away from me the same way. I reacted to christians a few days before and so after classes over was thinking that over. And i walked up my old buddy gregg. You want to smoke a little aqua poco gold right now. I'm getting tempted to can. And that was really a temptation for me. Because i really wanted to do it. And i started to realize this whole thing and it was starting to make sense. And i was seeing the whole spiritual around. That's when i started to enjoy resisting temptation. I said you know all right. I figured something's going on you know someone's trying to rip me off. There must be something to this thunderstorms likely because things were happening. It wasn't something i had to make up. It was really existing. So i started reading the bible and feeling i don't like to compare god the drugs and i don't like it when people say jesus better than getting loan it because i don't think you can compare the creator of the universe to some stupid drug but when i would read his word in pray i had such a presence of peace never known before that i never got from anything and i just said. Wow this is great. What deal you know. And i became very excited about it aster greg. Laurie will have the second half of this message. From nineteen seventy seven in. Just a moment. We send pastor great studies out via the radio. Email satellite and even are harvested home online services. And it's encouraging when we hear that these messages are impacting lives. After greg i have been a true believer for six decades have been receiving daily devotions for a couple of months. Now they are my favorite devotional. And i look forward to getting them every day. In addition about one month ago. I started tune into your life sermons on harvest at home. You inspire me. And i get all your jokes. Thank you for your ministry and to bring people to relationship with god. I'm happy to partner with you. In your mission. I pray god continues to bless you exceedingly abundantly more than you could ask or think it's a privilege to bring these studies your way and we're thankful for our harvest partners. Who make them possible. Would you partner with us. You could make a donation at harvest dot org. And you'll find pasture greg's harvest at home services at the same web address harvest dot org. We'll today a unique message from pastor. Greg we're listening to a sermon preached when he was just twenty four years old and he spoke of his journey to christ. Let's continue with this presentation now. One of the most requested programs of the past year got back to school. And i had a hard time relating to the christian because they were the questions on this campus especially they love the lord and they didn't care if anyone knew it and they would walk down the middle of the campus like i said singing out loud at the top of their vocal chords. Praise the lord. You know and and i couldn't relate to that and i said well i'm going to kind of be a loner christian i'll believe in god but i won't hang out with them but then when they want him said come onto christian meeting. I said all right so they were at lunch time. We went into a room. i sat down. Everyone was looking to behave and that guy used to get loaded. He's a christian now. Wow you know there's just sitting there and this guy. He was kind of a strange brother. He was very fervent. He preached like old fashioned preacher. And jesus said you know he storming around the room. And i'd never seen anybody talk like this before. You know throwing their arms around and then god the fluctuations and. I didn't know why person would want to speak so weird you know. I still really don't know why people talk like that. And so i got out of the class and this guy comes up and he goes brother. Greg i wanna give you a bible and he gave me the bible with popsicle sticks glued together to make a cross on it. You know and i thought that was kinda knew. Wow thanks a lot you know. Can i pay for no. No you just take this and read it man. It's god's awareness that thank you of the room and thought oh man. I can't carry a bible around. Don't they make little ones. You can hide your pockets or something. And so i had this jacket with big pockets on it and i said well just stuff the bible down the pocket pull the flap over and no one will know so i stuck it down in there and i walked along and i hadn't seen my friends for like a week. My old lady buddies. You know so i said hey i'll go over and visit them so i walked over and looked around and open the bushes up stuff. The bible and hid in the bushes walked in pay man. You guys done this. Said hey greg man all know where and the lord you know with that feeling came back and i started feeling what was conviction to witness. I wasn't going to witness. Didn't wanna do that so i sat down greg. We haven't seen you for a week. Where have you been. I haven't been anywhere. And i just kept evading the subject. They kept cross examining me. Hey wanted to go smoke a joint. No no. i don't wanna do that. Where have you been man. What's happening to your different all. Nothing and no way. Was i going to witness. Suddenly the front door comes bursting open and it was my friend's mother and i don't know how she did it. She found my bible in the bush. She says who does this belong to. That's mine. I took it in every i in the room went to the book with a black cover and the gold edges and the ribbons. You know then. Many books have ribbons in them. In gold edges. You must remember and they said greg. What is that spinal greg. A bible and then this one guy goes all grey. Are you going to be a good christian boy. Now praise the lord. Thank you jesus. And i said you know what i'm going to slug you right in the mouth. I didn't know what it meant to be persecuted and to endure it for the lord. I just wanna hit that guy. I didn't like it here. These are the guys that told me no matter. Whatever happened to each one of us would stick together where your friends. And i said i believed in god and they were really giving me a hassle over and my friend. My best friend who i'd grown up with that i said. Hey man are you gonna shine me onto and he goes. Naw still be your finish. That that's neat go. Listen don't worry. I'm not gonna get into it. Same praise the lord and carry in the bible. I'm still gonna be like everyone else is just going to believe in god. Well you know what happens. The lord began work in my life and pretty soon i started saying praise the lord. I remember the first time i said it. It was hard getting those words out. Praise the lord. What an alien set of words to say when you've never known them and then suddenly to start saying praise god and thank you. Jesus in hollywood and things like that. I started saying it in my life started changing and again. I started really identifying with the christians. And i started realizing they really were my brothers and sisters now see back in the old drug culture. People called each other brother. Hey brother but they'd rip you off. A guy will look go. Hey sister and what he really wants us. I wanna go to bed with you. And that was the only reason and it was just a big facade. So i was really paranoid about calling people brother in love because everything the hippie movement offered. If didn't have everything. The hippie movement offered christians had they had love they had teeth they had brotherhood. They really loved each other. They really put down the walls that they now you know odin the guy mustard seed faith. He tells me he's a completed hippie. Now you know because everything. The hippie movement offered jesus christ gave all the facade limitation that satan put in it is fulfilled in him and much more besides that. And so i started getting into it and we had a little bible shut down in newport beach and i'd go down there and hang out there after school and one day. I saw my old buddy who. I told you a little bit earlier. I told him. I'd never become like the rest of him here. I had a cross around my neck. A bible under my arm and i started witnessing him and i was so excited. I'd been a christian for like two weeks now. I was telling him everything. I knew the lord this and the lord down and i was telling him in all of us sydney. Was this kind of head shop. That was right next to our bible shoplift. You know drug paraphernalia shop. The guy comes walking out and he'd been listening to a you a christian. I said ya i am. He goes well. Let me tell you something about your god. And apparently he'd studied the bible. A little bit knew how to make contradictions. That didn't really exist. But i didn't know better and he just totally put me down totally put down my faith totally. Put down everything. I believe in right in front of my friend that i was talking to. I went back up. Bible store and i was mad and i started to cry. I said you know. I just tried to share. Jesus with somebody in this guy came out and just totally ruined began. This show with me about being a christian in the kind of attitude that people have torch you and i thought well why are people so hostile. Y you know what is their trip. Go man don't you remember what you used to feel before you were and go. Yeah i used to feel the same way. And now i am one and i'm going back to people just like i used to be and i'm trying to tell them and they're doing the same thing i used to do. And you say to them. I used to think that we're the goal. No you did. You were never liked me but you were just like them. You know people think christians are odd. Specimens brought up religious homes. How many of you were involved in drugs before you are christians. Raise looking at god's change your life so many of you you know you look at you never know it. People think that we're all brought up in christian homes and taught the bible sense a little kids and and so many of us just had wretched lives men out there in the world. Anyway i began to change in my life began to change before my very eyes and the lord began to make himself real to me later. Someone told me about this place called calvary chapel. Not that there were only about one hundred christians and all california and when they took me to calvary chapel and i saw two thousand people crammed into a building. I freaked out. I couldn't believe it. And i was a little afraid because that's a lot of christians in one place you know and i was still adjusting to this whole thing and i was kinda glad we got there late because there were no seats available but suddenly someone left out of the second row and there was a seat. There's a steed over here at brother. Greg and i went walking in and sitting down and i was sitting there surrounded. Happy happy happy. There's just couldn't oh man you know. Suddenly this man comes out with a bald head. East starts talking about the lord and i really had a hard time with adults because after that point i was a real rebel with the adult world. Been through so many things. I just felt like. I didn't wanna even get involved with him and here. This guy was an adult sharing. The things of god. And i just liked him. I liked them right off the bat. That guy. I really take this guy you know. And it wasn't things he said he didn't relate to me like talk and heavy terms are dressed like a young kid and try to youthful. He just was himself but of course we know why he has that attraction. I know why anybody does. It's a holy spirit. And i thought you know how to get his head to shine so much the lord at gifted him and so the changes that happen to people that give their lives to christ began to happen to me and i became a new person. Jesus christ in my life began to change. People come tell me to go. We used psych yourself into that. I just cut that jive right now. I tried to psych myself into a lot of things. I tried to psych myself out of a lot of things. But the thing. When i came to jesus christ i had wasted myself so bad all i did was just throw myself down and say okay. God start working. I didn't even have the ability to psych myself anymore. And i know at the same with many of you. We haven't site ourself into this. We have a thought ourself into an emotional high because christianity is an emotional high there are times where emotionally i feel absolutely nothing as a christian. But that's not what christianity is about. It's about reality. People accused of escaping from reality when an essence we found reality because we come to grips. with attorney. we've come to grips with live and quit playing little games like little children trying to cover it over and pretend that emptiness is in there and we've approached it in embraced it and found the one that said i am the way that truth and the life. No men comes to the father but by me as the words that i heard that one day changed my life changers tonight the words in which jesus said either for me or against me. Are you for christ tonight. i don't mean to you. Just believe he exists and say your prayers once in a while. are you born again. Is your name written in the book of life. Are you going to heaven if your answer. Those questions to any of them has been no. I doubt if you know him or are you against him are you. Violently opposed to him. Do you want to reject him. Do you wanna turn your back on him. Do you want to be well. I want to be neutral. I don't want to be formed. But i don't wanna be against them. Well you're either one or the other and if you walk out if you're a tonight not for jesus christ you are just as much opposition to him as the atheist marching down the street corner with god is dead on a sign whole no. I'm not like that. Yes you are because he the your former against and he the you're walking with the lord. You're actually working in opposition against them tonight. That the words of him. Not the words of greg laurie. Not the words of calvary chapel. The words of jesus and that's what he said that famed jesus that has changed our lives is knocking on the door of your heart. He says behold i stand at the door not fitting men will hear my voice and open the door. I will come in well. I'm too old to accept. Christ now you want to younger. "Way in comes on our own level anyway. He started to speak to me. And i realized that was god speaking again. I said all right. God i'm gonna give you a chance now. You gotta remember it to me. Smoking grass was not just a pastime. It was my life. I had actually formed my life around. It was everything to me. There was nothing more important to me than my drugs. I love them. They were like the rich man had his money. I had my drug. That was my thing and for me to give up. Drugs was a pretty big deal. Suddenly the front door comes bursting open and it.

"People will be happier to day because we are honoring jesus and we are a bane. Jesus and we are doing what we were made to do to become like jesus himself in terms of being givers. That's fantastic now. Let's surf think about it. Gets how quiet still talking about money. Move on quickly okay. So our theme is is hap- it's heaven happiness and hope and we're living in a culture right now we're a lot of people have lost. Hope course generation z. Has been described by some experts as the hopeless generation. And your heart just goes out to folks who who've lost hope you know one person wrote you can man can live forty days without food three days without water six minutes without air but only one second without hope renting as we close today. Let's talk to a person who maybe has lost. Hope maybe they something bad has just happened to them really bad. They've got the worst news imaginable from a doctor. Or maybe an accident. They've lost a loved one or maybe they just feel like life isn't worth living any more. You know the thinking. No one loves me. Nobody cares about me. I don't matter to anybody. I should just take my own life. Even address a hopeless person until them what they should have. You know my mind. Greg goes to titus to verse thirteen where it says that we are waiting for our blessed hope. And that's that word macari again and the proper literal translation is waiting for are happy. Hope the appearing of the glory of our great god and savior. Jesus christ and. This is what i would say to. The person who is suffering from that hopelessness is to say. God has given us this happy. Hope and it's not just a wishful thinking. Hope it's built on. The blood bought promises of jesus christ that he is going to make all things better. He's going to wipe away the tears from every i for all who believe and trust in him. Now if your hope is in yourself and your hope is in the economy and the stock market and your retirement plan and your hope is always being healthier wealthier..

"That went really badly and it went better than I thought there've been a few thought it went really well, and it wasn't as good as I thought. So I can't he tells you. Yeah that's. Tells me. I was so worthless. She never says that. So. It's I. Try not to you know be swayed by my emotion, but I would say, Bible, studies. Speaking of humor and having fun you. Your humor is is very unique. It's good little negative. Where did it come from? Yeah, you know it's funny. I seen interviews that are done with Comedians, and almost every comedian that you've ever heard came from a horrible childhood and so it shouldn't surprise you when you read that about somebody. That's funny. You develop sometimes people develop humor as a defense mechanism and so because of my crazy upbringing I learned to joke about everything and sometimes it's almost strange the humor like you can find humor in this. How would you find a joke there but I do and I tend to see the absurd and? That was reflected early on in my cartooning and then 'cause my cartoons like I worked with the school paper mocked everybody. Macher I when I was in the south a while ago I drove by a town called Marksville. I should've worn. In KNOXVILLE. That's me, macher. So, when I before as a Christian I mock Christians and all of a sudden I'm one of them well, I'm not going to mock them anymore so. Now sometimes, they I mock nonbelievers not the believe them the people themselves that sort of ideas nonbelievers have and I just tried to the human just comes out try to be funny sometimes I think I'm funny when I'm not funny usually when I'm telling a joke but a lot of times I just kind of comes out in the moment I suppress a lot of it. There's a lot of things that enter into my mind that I don't say. Because I was at things in your like you look at me and you go. I'M NOT EVEN GONNA go they're going to say. Like. Five. Things are loaded and ready. Yeah, I just I like to have fun. You know we're busy. We're working hard. So when I can find a moment to have a laugh I look for those things and enjoy it. Why can't you have fun doing all this? You know when you're in ministry, you're exposed to a lot of hard things. You know people going through hard things in their lives sad stories and also very happy things you know but you're exposed to a lot and so I try to find humor when I can make it a little bit easier. I think some people just take themselves a little too seriously I try not to take myself seriously. But I take my message very seriously, and sometimes it's good to just lighten up a little bit Amen Everybody Greg Laurie here..

"Three, you need to repent of your sin. Now, the word repent needs to change your direction. The Bible says God has commanded people everywhere to repent. It's sort of like hanging a u-turn and the road of life. You've been going one way away from God. Now, it's time to turn around and start going toward. The Bible says retentive times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord then fourthly, you must receive Jesus Christ into your life not just knowledge genie existed once but saying Lord come into my life. The Bible says for as many as received him. It gives them the power to become sons of God and Jesus says, behold I stand at the door and knock, and if you will hear my voice and open the door I will come in right now. Jesus Christ Saint let me come into your life, but the doorknob of your heart so to speak is on the inside only you can open it. Jesus doesn't insane down at the door and knock and if you don't open it up, kick it down. Now, he's a gentleman he knocks. He waits for you to open the door and then you must do it publicly not as wine a few moments I'm going to ask you that want to get right with God that WanNa be born again that wanted to go to heaven when you die I'm GonNa ask you what I Starts Start Song and a few moments to get up out of your seat and walk down the aisles and stand here in this floor, and when you all get the lead you in a prayer of commitment, a recommitment to cries. Now, why do I ask you to come publicly because everyone that Jesus calls he calls publicly. Jesus says if you will acknowledge. People I will acknowledge him before my father in the angels in heaven but he added if you deny me before people alter now you before the father and his angels. So coming forward like this as a way to acknowledge him publicly and listen two thousand years ago Jesus died publicly for you. So I'm going to ask you to make a Public Stanford Christ and lastly you must do it now. The Bible says today is the day of salvation. Now is the time now the Holy Spirit, would see you tonight. Now. And the devil would say later next week next month next year better yet. Now is the time. What are you waiting for? You say, well, Grega. A lot of things in my life I need to clean up I. Think I'll clean my life of income the God no you come to God and he'll clean your life up you come with your singer come with your problems. Jesus cleans fish after he catches them. You See. So you just come as you are come with your questions. You say, well, listen you show me an all believed. No listen you believe in God will show you you come and see what he'll do for you. Do it now. Don't even say I'll do it tomorrow night. Because none of us has a guarantee will be here tomorrow night. Or the night after now is the time. This is your moment just like Nicodemus had an appointment Jesus you do too and he will fill that hole in your heart will take away that guilt you've been carrying around because of the wrong you've done and you can leave the rb scene knowing that you will go to heaven when you die. I'm going to give you an opportunity to make that commitment to Christ right now let's all our heads a word of prayer. Father I pray now you'll speak to every person during this message helped them to see the words we have shared. Tonight are true. They're gospel true. Help them Lord to come to you and believe and receive your forgiveness now. Help them learn to make the most important decision of their life. "That shows he could have gotten out of that situation very easily. He said I am and you were by. End Of. Story. But he's submitted to this and they take him away arrested and taken to the house of Kaya fess to be tried. But before that happens as the guards come in to grab Jesus. One guy named Marcus probably is I in Simon Peter in an attempt to defend Jesus pulls out his sword it's slices off the ear of Malkhas. Jesus. He has to pick the ear up. He puts a Dunkin. The Guy Heals them. So the last earthly miracle of Jesus was covering the blunder of a disciple. Greg Laurie will have the second half of his message in just a moment. It's so encouraging would we hear from listeners who've been impacted by the Ministry of a new beginning including this man who is listening to Pastor Greg while driving? I like people I don't have any desire to drink i. don't have a nasty mouth anymore. And I just feel hope for the first time in as long as I can recall. I'm just calling to say thank you, and if you had any idea, the person I was yesterday to who I feel like today. "And laughed at it was a joke to me. So I was trying to do something that a person would actually maybe stop and read maybe even charcoal out a little bit but then also would hear the word and you know in the Crusades that's essentially the same thing that we're doing with with from. You know if you go to if we could go back in time to nineteen ninety, the harvest crusade at the first Pacific amphitheatre would look. Different than the harvest crusade of today, it would be different in a number of ways. The the music would be different. The Look of the platform would be different, but the essence of it is absolutely the same as it was, and I expect God willing if we're doing these ten years today or twenty or something today, you know they'll be different musical styles that may be popular. There might be different tools or resources or technologies we might utilize, but it always comes down to just the the message of the Gospel and that's where you can't. With it, you can't monkey with it. You can't toy with it. You want to just keep it biblical. You want to keep it simple. You want to keep it in everyday language. And, then you want to give people an opportunity to respond to it. Greg Lloyd was amazing. Yeah little stories. You know normally know what it says to be a center. When he puts in a little stories, little visuals. He gets. What he said really really hit me i. mean it hit me hard some he said just clicked in my head and it just made me. Now, I had to give my life to Christ. I'm never accepted the Lord before never even hold the Gospel told that and it just absolutely blew me away. Blew me away. I think that if you would go to the churches here in Orange County, those that are really evangelical teaching the word that you would find every one of the churches here people who had been introduced to Christ in the harvest Crusades I can remember the one year that we had huge baptism down at Krona Donmar, right after one of the Crusades Third Crusader. So the tide was so high. Use the. The the pirates cove. So we had to go to the beach and we had our high don't know over a thousand people. Baptized Aaron of course, in the the surf was up and was just I got knocked over with a wave and. Voting into the Sherwood some lady sides. Surfing. That serving and it was it was really though very you know an in our church there are just so many people that made their commitment or introduced or brought to Christ through the Crusades and so because we've been going on year after year, and that's it has a long lasting effect throughout the churches in of so many of them, the people were first introduced to Christ in the crusade setting. So I think it's exciting. You know it's an interesting thing also dave is that I've met so many people now who are in ministry? Who came to Christ that the Crusades as in a church last week speaking and he was the youth pastor and he was introducing me he accepted Christ in nineteen ninety at our first crusade there at the theater and now is in full time ministry. Yeah this is Justin and I I did receive Christ in one thousand, nine, hundred, ninety at the first summer harvest Q. Sane and it was there that I for the very first time I. realized that it was because Jesus did on the Cross for me that made me right with God. After that got involved in local Youth Ministry and and today I'm one of the pastors on staff at Mariners Church in Irvine. California Hi this is Jack Hibs and I came to Christ way back in one, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, seven on a Monday night as Greg. Laurie gave the message it was the first time. I had ever heard the Gospel and in responding I had no idea what God was going to do with my life. But some years later now, I'm now senior pastor of coverage Apple Chino Hills. And by the grace of, God, had been allowed to teach the Bible to thousands of people and I'm grateful to Pester Greg and all that the Lord is doing through his life and the evangelistic preaching of the word of God, one of the criticisms of large scale evangelism as well. Do you think all those people continue on with the Lord well? Of course they don't we don't say they do. That's why we describe those who have come forward over the years not as conversions but his professions of faith time will tell if they're conversions but our job so to speak is to proclaim the word you know when the Lord told us to go. So the seed, the way they sowed. Seeds in those days, they would just go and randomly throw the seat out into a field and then the soil essentially determine how you would react to the sowing of the seed. So I think our goal is to get the to as people as possible, and then leave the results in the hands of God. But you know when you do that sure people come forward and don't continue on. But there are those that come forward and only continue on but then they commit their lives to service, and now they're reaching people and then those people reach people and so the process continue. So that's what's really exciting to me with the passing of time TV able to see how that's happened. For some reason I was listening at one night and Greg was talking about this might be last opportunity you have. Come, little no one had ever put it to me like that. No one in the church I had been going to or in the church that I grew up in had ever said. You need to make a decision Greg was saying. No matter how good you are. You're never good enough. One of the scriptures he said was Bushel profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses a soul. And really strict on my heart because that's exactly where. When Pasture Greg. You know Florida's knocking is nothing your heart open up the door and let him in it just felt like my was just opening to him said, Hey, a few died tonight. Where would you go? And it was like pointed at the audience and it was almost like he was pointing directly at me it just the statement that hit hard at my heart. And it was not that point where I realize I didn't. WanNa. I didn't want. He without God. It was the way he was talking it was like me and him just sitting down with a cup of coffee talking about this is by the way. Jesus and this is what he can do for you. Guy Miller said it touched my heart. So deeply that when he gave the invitation, there wasn't anything else. I could do I had to go forward. Yes. I walked towards the field I almost like galloping down get down there quick enough. At literally ran. I was in the Marines six years. Father always trying to say men don't cry. That's all I did. I couldn't stop. Move. Pastor. Let me ask you after hearing that. What do you say to people who think that large-scale evangelism is outdated? Well, I do think that people don't really understand. So often of the Crusades and again in there are a lot of crusades that really don't produce long lasting results. You know the way the message is presented if it is an understandable and a logical way, it sticks with people. And and I think that emotions play a part but I think that so many evangelist sort of tend to play upon people's emotions. So that is a emotional kind of reaction rather than a true being persuaded intellectually this is the way to go. I mean this makes sense and and I think that's the gift that Greg has of making it makes sense. You've had a lot of years of experience and service in God's kingdom when Pastor Greg gets to that point many years from now, what is your wish for him when he gets to that stage in his era of service to Christ let me just say I just hope that he can have the same kind of.

"A relief after I did it. And I knew I was saved. A pastor chuck more than two hundred, sixty thousand people have made decisions just like that. More. Than three point three million have walked through the turnstiles since you had that idea in one thousand nine hundred ninety is is that what you expected to happen? No. Curse, the Lord always does exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or even think, and so you take a step and then you just stand back and you have your mouth open. And you know you just in awe of what God is doing and how far God is able to take something like that and just expanded and reach so many people. well, Pastor Greg many of our listeners know that that you grew up spiritually under master teachers right he's your pastor. What is it about his example? Bet His influenced you the most Lena that's a hard question answer because there's a lot of things I could say, but just sort of tying to this topic of evangelism. I didn't come from a Christian background at all I came from a rural secular hedonistic kind of a home as people may know my Mama's burden and divorced seven times alcoholic, etc. So it was a completely godless environment and frankly even before I became a Christian, I was really sick and tired of what this world had to offer and I knew there had to be answered somewhere I just. Didn't know where and it was a youth pastor that Kenema high school campus named Lonnie from calvary. Chapel. That I I. Heard and I made that commitment to Christ will then when I started going to cover I remember I was sitting there and in Chuck came walking out, you know no Lonnie was I related Alani because at the time I, had long hair just had here and it was But. Related to him as more of a peer. Okay. He's cool. But Chuck came out and he was more like the AIDS at my father would be. So immediately that you know some adult I don't know if I want to hear this guy I I don't think I'm gonNA. Really relate to this etc. but what amazed me was shot had a way. Of just speaking in everyday terms but yet it was the Bible back. It was Bible Exposition. I didn't know what it was that never heard before all I knew was I wanted to hear more so I would go to basically every study every night at calvary at that time, chuck would speak on Sundays of course, Sunday nights and I think took your money. And, you may be. Thursdays. And then Ken Gullickson did Friday nights and Lonnie was doing Wednesday nights I. Think in that. That's right and I went to all of it. I mean every single one plus I listened to this new technology at the time called cassette tapes and is now outdated of course but that was very edgy for them. Because don't forget we came from eight tracks. But you know I just couldn't get enough of it and I just found that chuck. You know interestingly though he is a Bible teacher and people think of that way a lot of times people don't know that really many ways chuck also an evangelist. He felt initially that he might be called to be an advance us but the Lord redirected him to be a pastor. But Somebody Tom's I would here in his messages these great presentations of the Gospel in a way that I can understand and then us as I saw to share the. Gospel in fact, it was one of sermons on inspired me to make my first attempt to evangelism, which was not preaching, but it was using my abilities as a cartoonist and I do a little booklet called living water. So to me, it was always, it was biblical it was practical. It was understandable it was authentic and it impacted my life and I wanted to go and do the same for my generation, and now I'm older than a lot of the people I'm preaching to. So I'm trying to do the same thing for the next generation. Do you need God's touch the night, maybe your life is falling apart. Maybe, you're trapped in a lifestyle. You can't get out of maybe your marriage is hanging by a thread. Maybe you're an engaging lifestyle right now we had a guy come forward a member of a gang up to that point at least. But he accepted Christ in these turned away from that lifestyle God can change a man like that. Might say well, that's great. You guys reach those down in outer St Joe's gang members to that'll raw meat tomorrow we will. We WanNA reach you to. A good person. I'm a moral person. I play by the rules. Yes I recycle it for you. You know Christ because you'll be asked that same question on that final day. This is not about how good of a life you live or how bad a light that you live 'cause you'll always find someone worse off than you. This is about the sin that separates you from God, because every one of US assent every one of us have broken the commandments of God every one of his stint separated from perfect and flawless God but God, you so much at two thousand years ago he said his son Jesus Christ not just a good man but the God man to die for your sins and shut his blood for you so you could be forgiven go to heaven when you die True Pastor check. Do you remember the first time you met greg he mentioned a moment ago that he had drawn evangelistic tract and he showed short on your porch with that. I remember very well. We lived rexy right near the High School Newport Harbor High and I do remember that he came to the door and he said that he had drawn up this cartoon I think it was in one of the classes in high school and it was the previous Sunday morning message done sort of been a cartoon fashion we were speaking on out of his innermost being there will gush torrents of living water, and so the track was called living water and. The guy with a heart and out of a heart, here's his fountain of water shooting up and so I looked through the track and you know we were talking about how people are looking to find the answers find something that will fulfill the emptiness, the void that's within and how the kids got into drugs and got into sex, and these other things all with the idea of trying to fill the void and so he put that in the track, and then how that you know through Jesus Christ? This not only the void is filled, but there flows fourth than out of that Empty Area, a fountain of living. Water. And so I said, well, this is great and so I had Greg Redraw or drawn in such a way that we could fold the cartoons so that they are in order as far as turning pages now, and we went down to Kinkos or someone. One of those shops had ten thousand of them printed and we got a bunch of kids aren't the church we cut them and. stapling them and all, and we set them out for the kids. To take free pass out to their friends and that first night, all ten, thousand God, and so we had hundred thousand printed up and they were gone and you know five hundred thousand and they were gone and that track just really had a very powerful impact on just kids all over the world night just thinking has chuck was saying that in many ways what I was attempting to do then is not. Unlike what we're doing on the Crusades two, they're just using different tools. You know then I was taking cartoon, but the idea was to build a bridge to a listener ended doing the way that they can relate to. Because back in those days, you may remember chuck that the kind of popular tracks had you know there are a lot of Hellfire and brimstone type thing you can try the flames on the. I'd read a couple of those before I was a Christian and I just threw it aside.

"Touch hundreds of thousands of lives through a move of God called the Harvest Crusade and I'm happy to introduce a couple of gentlemen who know more about this move of God's hand than perhaps anybody else this side of eternity. Pastor Chuck Smith is senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, and pastor. Greg. Laurie is senior pastor of harvest Christian. Fellowship in Riverside, California and the Speaker of the harvest Crusades gentlemen thanks for talking with us today. Good to be here. It's a joy. We'll pastor chuck. Let me ask you about this idea came up with more than two hundred, sixty thousand people have made decisions for Christ through the Crusades. How did this idea come to you and a wanted Greg say when you suggested it to him well, Greg was doing the money night studies for the young people here average chapel and the church was just crowded packed to capacity and kids were outside and all. So I just was wondering, Noaa we took it to a larger venue just how many would come out and is just a curious kind of. Idea on my aunt side of just how many would come. So I talked to Greg about maybe getting the Pacific amphitheatre and just do a one week I never crusade to. Lord would do now contrast the size of calvary. Chapel Costa. Mesa with the size of the Pacific amphitheatre. Well, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa weakened seat Would say there's probably three thousand kids coming a Monday night and Pacific amphitheatre is eighteen thousand. Capacity Tumbler. and My response was chuck. That's a pretty big place. Isn't it and Chuck replied well, Greg we serve a pretty big God. So I thought you have a point there. But it really was a bold step of faith to do something like that in chuck envisioned in this sort of a billy Graham style crusade But you know a contemporary type, not the billy Graham's crusades aren't contemporary but it can an idea that we would take sort of what was happening on the money nights reaching the younger people and then do it any crusade style you know larger scale and obviously inviting people to Christ and the Lord honored, and in fact, as I recall on the first week by the time we were done we had broken all attendance records at the Pacific amphitheatre in the final night. Place was overflowing the there would people that couldn't get in there was traffic backed up to the streets. It was pretty crazy. Firsthand in orange. County the traffic is backed up on the fifty five freeway near the fairgrounds and on most of the side streets around the fairgrounds says some kind of religious event going on there tonight. It is called the harvest crusade religion with a contemporary approach organized by a minister from Riverside California if there's a religious revival underway in America, this may well be the leading edge. The last night was just absolutely wild. You remember what was happening Oh? Yes. This up first Persian Gulf War. Yes. So there was a urgency people you know all know this might be the end of the year. And it was just really though exciting because they had to finally just locked the gate out people outside we set up speakers for them, and then people just couldn't get to the fairgrounds. The traffic was so heavy around the area that they just couldn't get in. So it was just really far more than anything we ever anticipated or expected, and that's why the second year we decided. We take the. Final night over the stadium and so that we would have more room for people on the final night. Go figure you you go from a three thousand seat venue to eighteen thousand seats and then you run out of Rome. Yeah. Go figure. Well, I guess we do serve a big. God. Pastor has right well Pastor Chuck Greg, Aman speaking for many years on on Monday nights at at. The church where your senior pastor when did you first start to notice that God was was using him in some kind of a unique way in bringing people to Christ? Well, of course, we were able to observe it out there in Riverside as God just had his hand upon Greg's life and the anointing of the spirit on the messages and the way the church in Riverside was growing so successful. And then, of course, when he came down to take the money nights, it was instant. It was just right at the beginning that was packed to capacity where we just couldn't get anymore and so what do you think makes his kind of a communication unique or effective? Well, I think that it is so relevant to the present day situation. In other words, it's very current and he uses great illustrations that. People. Understand. He uses the thoughts in the ideas of frustration that. Are expressed by worldly people all the time but. Famous people that you'd think these people really got it made and you know when you hear of their frustrations and and all, and he's very was very good at illustrating in just the need that is basic within every man to Reno and to have a understanding of what it is to be at peace with God and to have that security that is ours in Christ Jesus. Two. Thousand. Years Ago Jesus Christ the son of God went to the Cross and died for the sin of the world he was tortured. It's humiliated crude spikes were driven through his hands and feet and a crown of thorns placed around his head and a spear thrusting aside, and he bled and died there why? Because we are all separated from God by our sin? And it wasn't nails that held Jesus that cross two thousand years ago it was love for you and for me for God so loved the World He gave His only begotten Son and who believes in Kim should knock Peres but ever lasting life. On loves you. The last thing he wants to do is see you face judge. That is why he poured his judgment on his son who died in your place. But if you will turned from your sin and come to Jesus tonight, you can be forgiven. I was listening. Pretty intently to what God was saying when he was talking about Jesus dying on the Cross. For me and was very personal to me. and. I just knew that something was going to happen I was on the edge of my seat and when he made the altar call, I had already made up my mind. And when he made the altar call, I just looked at my sister and I was sobbing and I got up and I just ran down there. and. Hundreds of people were coming. I am. Greg Helpless Dupree, he helped me to pray. For Jesus to come into my life into be my savior. And I did that and I felt. Such.
