"Alexa, enabled the Red Eye Radio. Skill them. Any time you want to loosen Alexa, open Red Eye Radio. And he's Eric Harley. I'm Gary McNamara. Eight six six ninety redeye welcoming good morning, let's go to Greg in Chicago. We've talked everything tonight. They're having everything that happened over the weekends on the table. I Greg you're on the air. Welcome. Hi, how are you guys? Very good. I look at this and you bring Brigham hurry Galdino twenty because I saw what by him on YouTube going after people and at the end of two years, what am I left with just as just as a citizen is concerned system. Citizen this country. Nothing nothing. I get the feeling this whole thing is going nowhere ever ever. This is all predicated on an election by someone that no one like Trump pointing and you have these people in these in these organs are government that we that we expect to protect us against things like this turning a blind eye to it did anybody ever expect anything else out of call me in this in this testimony alter than what he did even when they made the deal about what can be released and what couldn't be released. It's it's just a joke. And there's no there's no penalty for this for anybody. Think about what's gone away. Buys a warrants the spying on American citizens to rig an election to go after people to throw pitches. Disregarding election that was properly conducted and the most unsavory of people to some was elected president. Where's the hope? There's no hope this will be covered up guaranteed. The Senate won't go after this. We have an I report that were hoping for something to show up. One one one we see that. Well, here's here's what you do have. Okay. Because it's it's not all hopeless. I not going to say where it's gonna go. But remember the president himself has a ton of unclassified information that he can release at any time that he wishes to release it as to what happened. It is. The house gets the it's the classified information about the FIS award and communications that the house intelligence committee and judiciary committee what they released their report that they put together and they finished their investigation that they put together and they finish their investigation. Jim Jordan said it we finished. It were done. We have you know, we, you know, it's it's out there. We had given our results and we have asked the president to release four separate different sections of emails and vice award applications and communications between the department of. Justice on the FBI the president currently set at any time. He has the power. In fact, he's the he's the only person who single handedly could do something to do a great deal. The other thing is we had no idea what Lindsey Graham will do as the incoming House Judiciary chairman every promise of the world and not fulfil. Right. We we don't know. He said he's going to go after call me he's going to do investigations on the FIS warrant will. We will see the other thing that you have is Judicial Watch. You had Judicial Watch this been doing a great job when we pointed to you earlier, the the the private group going out for freedom of information act. That's why you had the federal judge last week. Just land-based the State Department and the would have been the State Department, right and other exactly what he hit here. But he went after the he went after Hillary Clinton and stated, you know, just what happened was reprehensible, right? Let me just I'm I don't wanna I don't wanna actually read it without having it here in front of me. Well, and and what's I guess encouraging? Here's that you finally have a judge saying something somebody who's done a significant position of power. Yes. In order to bring transparency to that case, whether whether it goes anywhere beyond that is is something else. And we don't know we can't make that prediction. But a judge saying in essentially scolding, the situation itself, I guess the mishandling of the situation Clinton's private emails are one of the greatest modern offenses to government transparency. That's the federal judges. We have stated judge a Judge Royce. Lambert blasted the Justice and state departments want to make sure the right one for responses to a freedom of information lawsuit at best states efforts to pass off its deficient. Search as legally adequate during settlement negotiations was negligence borne out of incompetence at worst career employees at the state and Justice departments colluded to scuttle public scrutiny of Clinton skirts the freedom of information act and hoodwink the court end of quote, that's from the judge. So look as as we. We've said all along. And then you have you also have the Justice department under the new attorney general Reno where will they decide to go after the inspector general's report come out, so there's still a lot unknown. But there's a ton more information that we know now than we knew a year ago, I guess in that's the against the the promise there with the new G coming at is somebody that has been the attorney general before they know about the process. They're familiar with the process, they are well intimately familiar with the process having served as the attorney general under George H W Bush for two years bar knows that going in. There are going to be things. And and this is I guess what will the the question by many of us who have been wondering what in the world is wrong with Jeff Sessions. He seems paralyzed in that position. Well, that's not the case anymore, but we would well. And this is the whole point of it is that what will. Barbie able to bring to that. And and will he be I guess more aggressive in and serving in that role than sessions was I think I was telling you during one of the breaks that I just think that sessions. Had way too many, I guess contacts on or or experienced on Capitol Hill was different and it becomes something a completely different monster. If you're going to serve as the attorney general going from a lawmaker to someone who has great prosecutorial power that that changes, the tone completely not that a session. Didn't do a few good things. It's just that. He didn't go the full measure on a number of items, especially responding to oversight committee's. There should have been a direction. He'd there was there would be zero crossing any lines. If he just said that the Justice department will respond those within the Justice department will respond to these oversight committees in their requests. And he never did that he could have still and having recused himself still. Stated that as policy and blanket fashion because that is the policy because because what because it could be the attorney general and say look the Congress's a separate entity than the executive branch in the department of Justice and the investigation going on by Muller Muller doesn't get to have these solo investigative powers in the country. And while he's investigating all other investigations must stop in different branches of the government. Right. He never did that the attorney general could have done that in demand that they release any information that is requested to the appropriate body that has that has oversight responsibilities over the department of Justice. Right. And and so he didn't do that. But I think the caller makes makes another thing to look at every presidents have mixed bag. You know, that's how I look at it. I mean, they're, you know, they're I I look at a Trump, and I say done some really good things corporate tax rate. Great tax. Cuts of a fantastic executive branch. Deregulation? Great, but that can be overturned by the next president breath. So you look at that. And you say, okay, it isn't really a lot of congress. Lot of it is comes from the executive branch. But then again, it was put in by the previous executive branch. So he did what he could would he could do there Iran last week. I think he had a great victory in Iran last week. You would France after the medium range test by via ran and France and Great Britain come out and say book, but we have a deal with you. You're not supposed to do then sort of prove that you can't trust Iran for doing anything because remember the deal still on with the rent. They're they're still in the deal with Iran. Iran is supposed to abide by that agreement. You're not it's only the United States pulled out. And guess what? Trump was right. He was right. We were right? Because we said this a long time ago you can't trust Iran. Yeah. You don't do a deal with the country like that? We were right? And we said it went Obama made the deal. It was the wrong deal to make. So yeah, he does a lot of good things. There's a lot of things he does that. I don't like I don't agree with them on trade. I don't agree with him on on. To what was the? Oh, I how he responds. I think he's his own worst enemy with this tweets. I think he hurts his own. I think he hurts his own momentum. He gets momentum. And he loses it. But for the most part if you were to ask me, I'm going to guess probably seven to eight hundred eighty percent of what he actually does legislation wise. I agree with. And that's great because that probably matches the top of any president that I have. But I don't hate him. I don't know him. So there's no hate. But the last caller is right for such a dislike in a hate for this president. Then this is where we get into dangerous territory. You don't disagree with him? Because of the ideology of what he's promoting which is fine because then we can have that debate. That's what the United States is about to have that debate left, and right, but there's so much hatred for this, man. That and what the hatred is built on his total personality its personality are that's what it is. Right. Does. He's not a fascist is not a Nazi. We all know that it's ridiculous to do it. Why would you use such heated rhetoric because you hate this guy because you hate his attitude? You hate his personality. That's what you hate. But because you hate his personality so much. You're not outraged by things that should outrage that are done against him. Because you hate him. You don't look at the fact that you in all likelihood had an administration you'll Bob administration and people with inside the Obama administration that spied on an on a legit GOP candidate based on garbage evidence. And got a secret warrant to spy on that campaign every American should. Would be outraged at that possibility of that happening because of it happens to a democrat or Republican today. It happens to a democrat tomorrow at Americans aren't outraged by that in fact. I you know, I I will say the opposite. They tend to not only the not outrage, they don't even want. They they know it's bad. But they don't even approach it. They won't even go there. They'll pretend it doesn't exist. And then inevitably what will we hear ten fifteen twenty years down the road? Oh, yeah. We should have done something about that. Exactly. Oh, we should have done something about it. But we didn't at the time because you know, he was Hitler right now. Sorry, doesn't cut it. Because you hate somebody because of their personality, which stated before you even even back to have the debate and says he's Hitler. We we. But we live in a time when the fascist are the antifascist antifa. Which will we see what they promote? It's about stopping other people from their constitutional rights. This person is going to speak. We don't like what this happening here. We're going to write the streets. We're going to do things that are illegal. We're gonna we're gonna force people to speak the way we wish him to speak to talk the way that we wish him to speak. Well, that's we're not trying to do that. Here. We have definitive opinions on this show or we're not trying to shut anybody else up. Why are they that's the fascist mindset that exists out there on on on the left because the debate the real debate is too hard to have the real debate defeats a lot of the exemption. But I think that caller I mean, and that's something when you see that I can understand why you're upset by it. Because I see a two we see it that there's such a dislike for this president based on his personality that people will say, but it's okay, if the bureaucrats run the government, it's okay, we're all right with that. Because they're going after somebody that we hate eight six six ninety redeye coming up.

"Thirty five past the hour. It is our number. We'll get to the Twitter questions you sent all week long to Rodney Rodney other score. Harrison. It is seventeen minutes away from Rodney answering those questions but Rodney it is week number ten of the NFL season. Couple of big match ups to look out. We're gonna look at some of the major ones coming up. Are you ready? Rodney let's start with the Detroit Lions at the Chicago Bears, by the way that is an NFC north separated by like one game from top to bottom with the bears on top bears are home for this one at Soldier Field. Rock I like to bears and this one I can't say, I don't Khalil Mack. Obviously he hasn't played in last two or three weeks. But the lions the lions gave up ten sacks against Minnesota. I think the bears they're playing well on offense is starting to run the ball a lot of weapons creativity on offense aside a blog Detroit. They're still trying to figure some things out. They traded gold and take away. I like the bears, Dan, I do too. I didn't understand the golden Tate deal. You know, why give away your, you know, the number one target for Matt Stafford they're not out of the playoffs. You know? Why do you want me to answer that? Yes. Because his contract is up and they didn't wanna pay him. I get that. But don't you care about winning games this year where they're not going to go to the playoffs. I it becomes a distraction to buddy, you know, if you guys, you know, he's disgruntled a little bit. And now you can get a draft choice. What they get a third round pick round peg. I mean, that's pretty good. You pick up a third round pick. You don't have to pay him next year. And plus you have Galdino's guys. You got some younger talent Marvin Jones. Yeah. I thought it was a smart move. What is Mitchell Trubisky though? In chicago. They think he's unpredictable. They don't trust him. I think a lot of times he hides behind the creativity of Matt Nagy and the offense. We'll see if we can trust them right now. I'm just on offense. I'm I'm not one hundred percent sure of this kid. I'm not either. You know, the numbers are good. But numbers are misleading. You're right. They don't trust him yet in Chicago. You wonder if they ever will? But he has shown some progression from last year to this year. I agree. Chicago is the pig here. Over Detroit Lions seeing that just doesn't seem to be able to get things. Going patriots at the Tennessee titans while Mike coach and against well Bill. Ballot. Check here the patriots. They're rolling right now is Tennessee good enough at home at Nissan stadium to give the patriots contest. I think it can be a tough game or close game. And that's exactly I mean, my variable. He's very familiar with the whole patriot philosophy and what Tom does. Well, I mean, heck he was his teammate. He's seen him for years in practice. The Marcus mariota affect. I think that's going to be really the difference maker in this in this game. The patriots did a great job of containing Aaron Rodgers they know how to deal with these athletic quarterbacks Dion Lewis patriots familiar with. But I think the patriots coaching experience Tom Brady against that defense. I think the patriots win by touchdown. Here's the problem that I have with the Tennessee titans. I thought they would be a much better team running the football Rodney, I thought the offensive line was pretty good. I liked the combination of Derrick Henry and Dion Lewis. They haven't been able to get going around. Yeah. You know, you're watching the tape is an offensive line insures, it just guys disappointing. I think he's a little bit of both. I think the offense align isn't as good as it was last year. I look at Derrick Henry and he's for his size. He just he is like when you look at him, even though he's six three two fifty. He runs like he's five eleven one ninety and is like do run. Somebody over make a statement. If you know what I mean is like you're the biggest back I've ever seen in my life. He won't run. Anybody over is like stop running out of out of bounds and toward the Ceylon run downhill and punish people. And he hasn't done that which he did in college, by the way, saving up or whatever. Saving yourself for what leaving the NFL earlier, then he showed because the fact he's not playing the way did in college. I agree. Look it's hard to pick against the patriots. And as I think Mike variable for the most part a nice job in his first year as a head coach. But you know, when the student goes up against the mentor, very rarely does the student win. Right. How often did Bella check lose to his students like the cornell's of the world, man. Genie's of the world. It's like Nick Sabin. I believe has never lost to anybody off the Nick Sabin coaching tree as crazy as that sounds. So I think it's very hard for Tennessee to win this game. And I think with Bela check, the creativity that he always brings he'll have a new wrinkle here, I think the patriots are the pig. Here's a game that I like, and I can't believe by the way, we don't talk point spreads on this show. But it's a nine and a half point spread the Rams hosting Seattle. Seattle's not great Rodney. But they are in every game. They don't lose by a lot there within a field goal. They're always within touchdown is Seattle being overlooked here. In a game against the Rams in LA. They better not overlooking. Because the one thing and I talked about this two weeks ago. I just said the Rams p Carroll has really done a good job despite their record. And all this other stuff. They got their defense is a lot better than what people think they're all fence, obviously. With Russell Wilson. They got some young wide receivers. Some guys tight end position making some plays. They're much improved on offense and line. They're able to run the football now and they've gotten back to that is like they've gotten back to being committed to running the football. And like I said before the defense is a lot better than what people anticipate. I think this is this is a game right here is gonna put a lot of pressure on the Rams Seattle understands that you know, no one's really counting on them to make the playoffs. But if they wanna make a run in the playoffs if they want to get this is it's basically a must win for them. They have to win this game. There's no way they can lose this game and to me with their schedule expect to make the playoffs. So with all that being said, I'm going to have to go with Sallis and his ramps and. I think they're going to bounce back. But they better man because. Seattle. Their record doesn't indicate that they're really good team. But they will play extremely hard. You know what? Even if the Rams win to me. It's about how they went. Right. I mean, if they don't show that they're making judgments from what's hurt this team, especially coming off the game against New Orleans. And if you know Russell Wilson in that offense puts a points on on L A. Yeah. L get the win. They'll be nine in one. But I think the legitimate question that comes from this Rodney would be same problems. Can you win throughout the playoffs? And can you win a Super Bowl with a defense that showing so many leaks? And I think we're gonna see can Seattle exploit that can Russell Wilson put up some points against this Rams defense. And by the way, if the Rams shut it down we could start saying, okay? Okay. Maybe they have that idea. Maybe Wade Phillips is doing what he needs to do. But it's a big game here for them because you're right. You cannot overlook Seattle. It's a very good team. That's that's in all the ball. Save austin? The chargers by what a touchdown. I think it was. It's a fun team to watch. Yup. And let me say this. Let me just say this. In the last part about it is that offense is going to test that secondary early in the show, and we've talked about the Rams and them given up a lot of big plays. But they're going to get tested in that secondary. Because Russell Wilson. And one thing that he does he takes shots down field. He's gonna take four or five shots. He's gonna double-pump. He's going to extend plays. He's gonna and he's not afraid. He doesn't care about. Don't wanna interception. He's gonna take shots. He believe in his guys and those guys play extremely harmful. And remember that those are the things that the Rams are weak at stopping the run and big plays down the field. So those are the two things to watch salads. When you're watching that game. I want you to pay attention to that. And I want you to text me and say Rodney, you're right or you're wrong. I'll be in that stadium. So you'll be hearing from me right away. That I may be on the field. Trying to make the adjustment. Look at them big time, and I'm going to be on the field. Meanwhile, I'll be Roddy. Nice should the stands. Yes. That's how it goes. That'd be sitting on a cozy studio. Issues over here. We found the silence me just hanging out tell them how he's made dropping McVay. You know, where I'm going to be on my couch with cheaper beer, then at the stadium with that expensive stuff about that. You had to be nice and comfy. All right. Rodney the big game Sunday night football. All begins the football night in America. Seven pm eastern time on NBC Rodney Tony Dungy. Mike trico? Mike Florio the whole crew Dallas Philadelphia. Here's the thing. It's a great rivalry game. It's a lot of fun. And I don't care that the Cowboys are struggling team anytime you have a rivalry game. I always say this Rodney throw the records out the window. If Philly thinks they're going to overlook Dallas here because it's a Lincoln financial field. I think they're in for something because for Dallas they have to prove something. And if you're Jason Garrett, there's a factor of pride here, isn't there will not only a factor fry. But I think it has to be a factor of changing your mentality. They think they brought in the Mario Cooper and everything's gonna be fine offensively. Banal look at Scotland in hand offense coordinator, you have to change your mentality. You have to change your mindset, you have to become remember we rant and rave the week before they played the Jacksonville Jaguars about them. Being more aggressive. Dak Prescott taken over doing more things. Taken shots down the field. Just being a little bit more creative. They came out. They score forty plus points on the Jacksonville Jaguars. What the heck happened to the offense? That's what I don't understand. And I think that's the thing. That's lacking right now. When I look at the when I look at the Dallas Cowboys, and you might slap me when you when I say this. I think they're good. I think their defense is good enough. Okay. If just that the stages of soup defense is right now, I think their defense is good enough to to get to the Super Bowl. I think it's the offense. Yes, I think their defense is a slap in you a Super Bowl caliber defense. Now think about think about the patriots last year. Defense. We didn't we didn't rant and rave about the patriots defense. All I'm saying is if they can get some level of just complimentary football from their offense just think I mean, they have the guys up front. They have start linebackers. They have a much improved secondary. I think they're good enough in the secondary to get to the Super Bowl. I mean on defense to get to the Super Bowl if if their offense does their job does it put a lot of pressure on Dak Prescott where it's like. Okay. You finally have a decent receiver. I mean Cole. He's not bad. He'll be your number two at this point. Is there any excuses for Dak Prescott? If you can't get the full Tamari Cooper. See that's the thing. I've. Gary Cooper, and he's never like I never looked at him as being a number one receiver at least the last couple years. I've always felt like he wasn't comfortable being that number one receiver in the National Football League felt like he's a he's a good number two. He's a guy that you don't really know which Amari Cooper is going to show up. You know, is it going to be the one that has ten catches against Denver is going to be the one that just only has one cat sometimes to me. He's like kind of in the mood player right kinda plays when he wants to. And maybe that was just environment in Oakland. And we're going to see what happened, but he disappears man. He disappears in games. And if you're a number one receiver, and I'm looking at number ones like Julio in and and ole Dell and Antonio Brown, and Michael Tom is those are number one. And you can't put him on that level. So I I think he's he's a guy that gave up a top draft choice for for a number two receiver. Yeah. I actually agree. With you. I think he gave up a lot. And here's a bothers me real quick when people talk about well, you know, what wherever the Cowboys draft next year were they have gotten a receiver of Amari Cooper abilities. And my answer is wherever they draft next year. Maybe they're not looking at receiver..
