"It skips and people like Todd Spielman. Well, you know, there's something about the music store used to be the gathering point for spot for all all bands, they'd meet up not so much just by merchandise but to meet the other musicians in town, And it's a small community that has built into quite a vast community. Now in the Syrian Sacramento has always hosted some of the best musicians around. Not all have claimed being from here. But there are a lot of them came out of Sacramento, as you know, and many have helped the others find their way into the industry and through the industry and being successful. In their own way. And, of course, your weekend warrior program that you do where whether these musicians can get together, you know, and they could play and they practice and become a band. And then they have a big show, which is really an awesome program that my brother went through that as a drummer, So it really helps a lot of people. But I mean In terms of, you know again, and so you're passing it on, just like you said with Ronnie passing his, um you know, his being sort of a mentor to Frank Hannon, Right can become successful, and it sounds like and I want to ask you guys Um, how Frank is what Frank has meant to you, Andrew. And to you, Dino as guys who were starting out in how long you been doing this band here? I think you've been in this band. Well, um, we've been doing it pretty much since I believe like early 2018. So yeah. How did how was what does Frank Hannon meant to you guys as a mentor? What have you learned from Frank along the way? Uh, I would say. The most important thing. I think that Frank has taught me at least is that Every part in a song has to be important has to be there for a purpose. Every You know, Every part of the song needs to be there for a specific reason, you know? No, like Drawn out. I don't know. Filler again. Right? Right, Right. Yeah. Someone who's going to lose something right in the middle of the song. Yeah, Yeah, There's a lot of songs guilty of that. So that's great advice. You know, big time. Yeah. And and just being a mentor to you guys. And was he the one that was instrumentally getting into this recording studio where you went and recorded this new album was actually in his in his house. He was in his ass in his home studio. Okay, So you recorded the full album there and you know that's what we've been doing. Uh, you know, during this pandemic as we've been writing this album and, um just really honing in our craft becoming an original band, you know, before we actually met Frank, we weren't original band. You know, I said, we started in early 2018. We were doing Van Halen tribute band stuff we were, you know. Samira Daily Rothera going around over North Cal doing, you know. Cover band stuff. So, um, you know, being an original band writing originals, you know? In red video. It's really new to us. So, um, you know, Frank was gracious and ethically or super thankful for, you know. His help, and he's a great mentor to us and just to write that that first album, you know, and you know, we're really proud of it. You know, it's It's, uh, It's something real special and red voodoo. By the way, just in case you're wondering, Um, I've done my research because I thought that sounds very familiar is I'm a huge fan of Sammy Hagar. I love Sammy. And you're talking about opinion of Van Halen coverage. And And if you did the Sami covers of the David Lee Roth, maybe a little bit of bold. Yeah, but you know, Sammy, who was just being Incredible entertainer. I mean, the guy is just incredible is the world's oldest teenager. The guy just missing just doesn't grow. All these guys amazing, of course, has a song called Red Voodoo. That's where you got. That's where you took your name from was the red Sammy Hagar. Red voodoo. Yeah, you know, I mean, you could hear it on our originals were really Sammy Hagar inspired and with a little hint of the van Hagar Sammy Hagar era And that was the first show that I actually went and saw was Sammy Hagar.

We received a briefing that said Russia had been Working on, uh, materials that genetically targeted specific ethnic groups or people's or a specific genome. And you know, that's over 30 years ago that our government knew about it. Yep. And what, Frank? Just so everybody else who's listening knows earlier tonight, I talked to Frank Gaffney from the center and he said, When our Olympic athletes go to China, he has, he says he can say that he believes the Chinese will try to get samples of their DNA because part of what that government is inclined to do. Is the kind of research that produced I believe produced the Covid 19. That was there was gain of function up to where it would infect humans, and that that same government that doesn't care too much about human life. They have a couple of million weaker is locked up in in camps where they're used as slave labor that that same government might also say why we could use some of this DNA from some of the top athletes in the world. To make better human beings. Right. Right. Then you you're thinking that that was something. You were already warned about back when Russia was still the Soviet Union and was much bigger and much more powerful than it is today. Correct And who's to say they haven't continued that? Yeah. The only thing that might have gotten in the way was the fact that they've become a little bit of a I mean, they're in kind of tough financial shape right now. And money does make a difference. "As president biden and the other g seven leaders from some of the world's wealthiest economies prepare to meet for a weekend summit in the english. County of cornwall. One of the biggest attractions is a two story. Sculpture that has emerged from the hills nearby. it's a reproduction of the faces of all seven leaders in the style of mount rushmore but instead of stone the sculptors material is discarded electronics. And he's got all these old phones that is supposed to be his hair including all these wires and then right in front of me is joe. Biden joe biden. Skin basically is all these green circuit boards from inside computers. And not you'll just across. The bay is where the g. seven is meeting starting tomorrow morning. I'm just amazed that these faces are recognizable. very recognizable. everybody can tell exactly who these people are. And what do you take is the sculptors political point here. Well i think it's very it's an environmental point and i was just talking to him on the phone before you and i started talking his name's joel rush and this is how he put the messages. We have to find a way of dating with this electrical. Waste that we're producing because it we haven't got ways of Taken a pause again. We haven't got waste repairing it. We haven't got ways of getting rid of it. It's not just one nation to to give all that waste or another nation. It's a world problem. And how about all the people taking this visual in right. Now how are they reacting. It's really interesting. i think people are fascinated by obviously. It's artistically it's very very interesting but in terms of the environmental message. That joe was just mentioning. I mean i think it really resonates with people. I was talking to him named jonni let she teaches politics and i asked her what struck the most for me. Security and Intelligence Failures Led to January 6 Capitol Attack

"Today the senate released a new report finding the capitol. Police leadership did not act on warnings. That trump supporters tried to breach the capital leading. One officer tells senate investigators quote we. Were ill prepared. We were not informed with intelligence. We were betrayed. There's also a lot. The report does not cover as washington. Post greg sargent points out quote. It does not officially described the attack as insurrection instead opting for the word attack and avoids a frank discussion of the role played by one donald. J trump sarah gary. Peters of michigan is the chair of the senate homeland security committee. One of the committees published that report and he joins me now senator. What was the scope of this report. What was the sort of task before your committees. The scope is was limited right from the start. It was bipartisan. A look at what exactly happened on january six in terms of security failures. And why did those failures Car and what sort of changes need to occur to make sure that that ever happens again. And that the capitalist secure the men and women who work in the capital are secure and that our democracy is secure to prevent an attack on the capitol building but it was focused on just those days events. we looked at Intelligence and saw obviously failures in intelligence also saw failures from the leadership of the capitol. Police although i wanna be clear and certainly you're opening showed it vividly that the men and women the frontline men and women who are. They're defending the capital. We're heroes but they were let down by their leadership. It was clear in our investigation that there wasn't a plan in fact during the attack. You'll have officers that. Were on the radio. Saying where's the plan. Who has a plan. Put them in a horrible position and also problems with getting the national guard here and the fact that there needed to be more effective planned up front so we were focused on that we wanted to get a plant a report out that has specific recommendations. That could be acted on very quickly. There are twenty recommendations in this report and we hope to get those in place as quickly as

Kamala Harris, in Guatemala, Discusses Plan to Deter Migrants

"Is in Guatemala today. If the start of her trip is any sign yesterday, Air Force to had to turn back after take off for a safety check. The assignment is going to be a challenge. Mrs Harris first foreign trip Mission, President Joe Biden gave her find ways to reduce migration to the US by improving conditions in Central America. One of the big challenges in the region is how ineffective governments there have been at solving the simple, grinding problems of daily life in their countries. Speaking from Guatemala City today, Harris said she and Guatemalan President Alejandro Geometry talked about a key issue Corruption on the issue of corruption. Uh, the conversation that I had with President Janet Today was very Frank. And very candid, and I think this is a quality that he and I appreciate in each other. Following all of this is Adrianna Beltran with the watchdog group, The Washington office on Latin America. She said Harris is right to focus on corruption. And unfortunately, over the last several years, what you've seen across the region, including Guatemala has been a backlash against anti corruption, anti impunity efforts and increasingly actions by corrupt elites to undermine democracy and the rule of law. So as long as we're on the subject, explain in simple terms how corruption actually reduces the impact of USA to Central America. When we talk about corruption in Guatemala in Central America, we're not talking about a few bad apples, a few corrupt government officials that accept bribes But what we're talking about is systems that have been put in place where corrupt elites and in the case of Guatemala, increasingly tied to criminal groups have taken hold the government institutions And have used their positions of power to enrich themselves by embezzling millions of public funds at the expense of the majority of the population. You know,

Partnering to Reduce Risk & Do More Exciting Work with Frank Hannigan

"Let me ask you a little bit by strategy cried. So are you an employee strategy Are you a founder and owner. Yes the way we have. We have four partners at the moment. They run the company and we work together. We work separately. And that's the way it's almost like is not dissimilar to the way legal practices were so we have four partner shack. Roddy margaret's myself. Our hoping to more each of them have domain expertise and also vertical experience and so they will have sense. We would prefer to all his work in paris. So i would have worked in paris number of our people both partners in the socio. That's how that's much more effective because it the risks from the client's perspective but also you tend to have applied effect if you have two guys coming in to the same problem with a different lens. But sometimes we we all work on the same problem so we all work on projects. French fries added together. Which is grateful and again you got network effects. Were having a smart people. Beat each other up beating each other up our ideas up together and that's good because we trust each other but we have different starting points right. Different perspectives on the same problem. Okay so one question. I think the people struggle with is is what actually is strategy. And you've got right there in the name and you are an expert in strategy strategy consultant. So can we talk about strategy for me. Because i think people struggle with trying to pin it down define what it is. I think if you can't explain what it is. Whatever your domain then you don't know enough about it so a strategy for me is desperately simple. It's from a latin. Were from a greek word which means generalship. So it's the organization of people resources over time to achieve and calm and we work with the way we work with companies is to try and make that a simple in as practical as operational as we can so typically we will start off not what the mission vision objective statements. Biden Administration Wants Agriculture Subsidies to Help Fight Climate Change

"American taxpayers spend lots of money on farmers record forty six billion dollars last year that helps to keep farmers in business when the weather or the markets might otherwise put them under now. The biden administration wants agriculture subsidies to do something new help fight. Climate change can that work frank. Morris of member station k. C. you are looked into it. Farmers have an uneasy relationship with climate change or creates about ten percent of the greenhouse gas emissions in the us. Most farmers hate to admit it's a problem and they certainly don't want to invite new regulations. But those like richard oswald standing just out of the rain in a shed on the missouri farm where he grew up. Clinches is personal and well. "Today's champions league final. We saw chelsea beat manchester city by one goal to nail says in the first half proving to be the difference between. That's a side as chelsea under thomas to co. Go on and win. The second champions league practices such open. Start this game. It was great sometimes. These finals the teams cancelling each other out. This quite we all to say yeah. I don't think any that even took in these players himself would have understood the city. We're going to have the bulk of the possession. Not that wasn't gonna worry jokes in look at chelsea in the positive side to start and sort of meander to losing coach. But you've got to take off to this club a abramovich and has people do not mess around. They made unpopular decision with some and sacking. Frank lampard a guy who had been an amazing servant to that club was a player but they felt they had to make a decision. This is a club just makes decisions right or wrong. You may agree or disagree made it. It was sorry cutthroat but it took her available. Let's go out. Let's get right experienced coach track record and he combined and i don't think i've seen a managed land the squads as fast as he. You think of all the changes. He made the first half a dozen game. He didn't he didn't know what that best eleven was going to be. It was the hudson a wingback. Lonzo the was chair willing to team. It was moan- team and he basically threw everybody together and not squad on. He lends a every player strength and weakness. He's on the job while still getting enough results to get them in the top four. Yeah and i think that was an amazing piece management fink about him. He just said to abramovich when he was taking this job. I'll talk for genetic cup final. Which doesn't play well. I know win the champions league for you. it probably would go out. "Career just because you didn't go to the league doesn't mean you didn't turn pro number to reach, you know, anything about sports, you know, they're a metaphor for Life persistence commitment accountability responsibility patient's attitude trust the list goes on anyone who's experienced what it's like to be in a team knows the Lessons Learned in the game stretch far beyond the field of the Court the time student-athletes spend with their team learning these lessons should account for half of their Sports Major. The remaining half will be from classes sent around those lessons at home. Mentioned here's a couple of examples John wouldn't leadership class Sports psych class and personal finance class number three just because you play sports for your school does not make it mandatory to be a sports major. It's simply a fair option for any athletes passionate about pursuing a career in sports post college. For example, if there's a player on the Clemson football team who wants to play for the team and pursue a degree in accounting job bless. That's an honorable decision. Now, you might be thinking yourself. Well, if the time breakdown Frank gave me in the beginning is real then how are athletes getting by right. Now, the answer is many of them don't the system we have right now is fake. I was in charge of classrooms at my alma mater Miami University with D1 athletes who are so exhausted that they slept through the entire lecture. Now you're thinking well if that's the case then how are they taking their tests or writing their papers? Let's use Rashad McCants just an example. He was in junior guard for UNC basketball and 2005 in his fall semester. He took four classes too and African-American studies one in algebra and one in Psychology. Now, he's mentioned that his two African-American course. We're not real courses. They were only real on paper. He never had to show up once and gotten a in both. He failed his other two courses and teetered on the edge of academic ineligibility during the season UNC solution the problem with General well in the spring semester, they signed him up for for African American studies courses, of course, these classes are meaningless, but their plan worked McCants me. The Dean's List was straight A's and UNC won the National Championship game point of the story is universities are allowing the system to be broken the funnel works like this players like McCann's generate revenue for the school professors like is fake ones get paid from that Revenue if these players are academically ineligible, they can't generate Revenue the universities lose money, which means the professors of this money and the athlete can't perform all three parties lose. So please let's stop pretending like these guys and girls are student-athletes..

We'll get lost episode dying. We'll we'll see what else comes around the bend when we get there and Between now and then Biller Johnny. Got Anything else to say before we sign off. I'm pretty talk to Al. This was a good episode or good good episode of the podcast and a great episode of lost on actually talking about this episode. I think tonight after we sign off I might go ahead and watch on my head and watched the site episode because I feel like they really are two sides of a coin. These two Mike. I make a fire that up tonight. I'm just going to Plug again Jonkers Yankees Some good news. It's probably the best Brad Pitt. Cameo this side of deadpool two so thumbs up to that and it'll make you feel good when you're watching so please do. That was so good. That guy he's really living. He's really living his best life. He's he's really done a great job and not even from like I'm sure it's helping his brand and all those kind of superficial things really as cheesy as it sounds that guys just really making a lot of people feel better. You're here all right so with that. Sign all the fucking hardcore. No self from Frank Frank Not. Yeah not feeling better. Well no I just Yeah I mean he's A. He's a celebrity. Who put a free show out on Youtube? And everybody's acting like they're so surprised that it's doing well I mean he he's thinking he's taken zero risks and it's doing a whole hell of a lot for his brand John. Krasinski will not suffer from this. No but he's also you know it's not like he's just it'd be thing if he was just him but he's like reaching every episode he's going out of his way to reach regular people like he could obviously just sit on his mountains of cash and do nothing. Yeah I mean hey look chocolate and vanilla. I feel like you. Just what just happened is the equivalent of getting hit with a stunner and no selling it her when. I mean yeah that's fine. I just I don't think I don't. I don't think this is coming little pessimistic to believe that one of the Hollywood elitist is doing this out of the kindness of his heart. I for for no personal gain. But that's just me and I'm sure there's a million people disagree with me and that's fine. People certainly like hill. He's benefiting from it. But I think he and his wife are both delightful and seem like they're great people. And even if he is doing it selfishly. There's so much like if you've watched the news all day. It's all bad news so if we can get quote unquote some good news. Every now and then I'm okay with it not my thing but that doesn't mean it's not everybody else's thing well right knocking over like a wet far away. You're the fucking grinch right now. I think no listen all the toys away from the poor little. Who's in Whoville? I'm taking any toys away. I'm not saying don't watch it. I'm saying I don't watch it and I I mean good. I'm glad it's great. It's great my wife loves it? It's fantastic. He Got Brad Pitt to do it whether update this week. Yeah I mean I. How unthinkable of an alias. Hollywood celebrity to reach out to another a-list Hollywood celebrity. I mean it's unbelievable. Yeah they can use their pulpit to make people feel better. That's bad no. I didn't say that I didn't say that I didn't say you're purposely. Not Watching it out of some sort of stubborn. I'M NOT GONNA. Watch him. Because he's famous thing that that that's not what I'm doing. Yes it is I have. I have zero interest to watch John. Krimsky on Youtube. But it's really a he's just all he's doing is showing clips of regular people. Doing Nice things like the difference. Is the the only difference between you and doing it and doing it? Is that more people are going to see that. Because he doesn't right. I mean I mean that's good not my thing I don't know what to say. I'm I'm glad you guys like it. I just feel like I don't know how this devolved into this. I just think you're putting a lot of like really negative connotations on the purpose behind that very cynical way to look. I don't honestly think junkie is thought any of the things that you're saying but I and that's fine. I mean you're not gonNA convince me you're not gonNA convince me while we're we're on the air it's I just I I don't to me I don't see the big deal you know. If if any celebrity put their face on youtube a million people would watch it I mean they they could be taking a shit in a billion people would watch it right but certain things go viral for reasons like this is more. This is this is now penetrated more than there's a lot of people out there trying to be like. Hey look there's good things happening but this one has caught on. I really think the first one the first episode he did was just like him being bored and it struck a nerve gal. Gadot tried to get everybody exactly people. People basically said exactly what you're saying. Oh look a bunch of fucking hoity-toity celebrities sitting in their mansion saying so clearly like what he's doing and the way he's coming off seems very authentic to people and in a way that the other celebrities were not capable of doing and that's why the more more celebrities trying to hop on a name might have more pernicious reasons for it but I'm not I don't see I don't see it from him. So my cynical the cynical part of my nature. I-is job to maker US believe that he's things that he's not know the cynical part. That's your job. That's what he does for a living right. Yes I know that but I think there are I think not everybody in Hollywood is out now douchebag and I happen to think that Krinsky and even maybe even more so his wife who I love having to be fairly decent people what I do think is that other celebrities who are not decent people are going to do knock off things. Try to capitalize on what he's done. That's where that's where I'd be cynical about if you start seeing lookalikes pop up for the wrong reasons. But it's like if you were doing this and in the middle of each one. There was a commercial for Jack Ryan. Okay that's different or or if you're selling ad space or something but I really do. I mean sure he was the first to do it so now anybody else does it. They're GONNA look like they're making a grab. I mean he was the first one the golden ring. Let's listen it's awesome? You guys are right. I love it. I'M GONNA I'M GONNA I'm Gonna I'M GONNA. I'M NOT GONNA. Watch the next lost episode when we get done here. I'm going to go binge of some good news. It won't take your half hour and you'll probably feel better about yourself. I can't.

"At similar issues. Twenty years down the road. This may have accelerated that as well. That was the only reason I have been brought up. Honestly this comparison you know I think when there's a vaccine people get inoculated and they don't worry about dying. I think movies sports come back like a like a flip of a light switch. That's my personal opinion. I'm I agree on. I agree one hundred percent in terms of movies. I like it I hope so i. I'm not sure if I believe it but I hope so. The real question is what's going to happen to my eagles season tickets for the fall. If we don't have a vaccine might be planning empty stadiums. It's like baseball might be planning Arizona. Do I was just talking about this with. My Dad is a whole different conversation now but I was just talking to my dad about this. Sports are really going to become a made for TV product. Like for a vaccine. 'cause I don't care what all these people say like. I don't see Football Games. Selling twenty five percent of their capacity and forcing people to sit eight seats apart. I I don't see that happening. I think sports are GonNa you know it's going to be like the. Nhl is going to play all their games in North Dakota. They'll test everybody on every team. There won't be any spectators and it'll be a TV it'll be made for TV thing until there's a vaccine. I think the first one to come back is going to be golf. Because it's the easiest golfers are already yards apart from each other. You don't need that many technical people that'll be the one to come back. Yeah those are the issue with that is raise like your NHL Zero Molasses. They're relying 's your wwe's relying so much on ticket. Sales fell out of the four major sports. Nhl is super dependent on their date like way more than basketball or football is like crowds. But it's not it's not gonNA be possible because even if even if you know social distancing causes the virus numbers to go way down of it's still out there without a cure. People are going to be uncomfortable. I I'm not going. I'm not going to a hockey game like I have enough trouble going to fucking grocery store right now like I'm not going to go and sit elbow to elbow with somebody for three hours. The same thing as airline travel like. I'm not getting on a fucking airplane for four hours breathing. The same air as one hundred other people. It's not happening. The I got flyers tickets for again it's quote unquote postponed. Honestly they try to play it. I'm not going I I'll eat. I'll eat the money all the next time we even can think about having crowds legitimately. I think we have a shot at spring training. Twenty twenty one for having like just go. Buy Your ticket and you can go crowds. And that's if they make a vaccine at a literally a record pace. That's an awfully long time for movie heater. Movie Theaters Sports to to hold out right. But I I didn't want to. If there's one thing I agree with President trump on its that certain things I think movies among movies restaurants and sporting events and probably throw concerts in there. I think those things are GonNa have such pent-up demand and people are just going to be so dying to get out. I think it'll be like a light switch. I think of the first movie that is released in theaters. After there's a vaccine for Cova is like black widow or something like that. That is going to fucking do unbelievable numbers if vaccinated people can go. It's going to be like that first load after lent. Yeah yet that's exactly right Shot Wimmer's it's it's quite that sound effect for your load after Len right those good right. Babu.

"Uh-huh nobody woken the bill. And Frankie pop culture. I am frank in with me today. We got phil and Johnny. We're going to do it all again. It's been a little while I mean probably more realistic pace to keep up once every week but Up until this point we've been hitting two or three a week so we took a little bit of a breeder. Let you guys catch up. We've been pumping you full of Shit. pretty quickly and consistently so thought we'd give you some breathing room some time to recover and and now we're back at it so Bill Johnny Harrier weekends how you hold up in an isolation I'm good. I do think it's important to remember that we're do a podcast and ultimately we want people to listen so we need to give them more than twenty four hours to listen to episodes before we crank out new ones. That's an important lesson to remember. We always in. These aren't these aren't ten minutes jams either. These are like our have episodes. So exactly we're on an inhuman pace so it's good to get a little breather and also allows us to save up some things to talk about which is nice so like Liam Niessen right after his wife died. Exactly I mean maybe not exactly like that but sure As far as weekends go I mean I had my daughter so it was busy as busy as can be trying to entertain eight year old with nowhere to go but this is what we're dealing with now. Although God knows what's going to happen in the next couple of weeks with all these places reopening have no idea. I'm happy to be providing more dope for the audience of Charlie their funding for it. You know so. We'll give the people what they want tapping gene. That's right now. My weekend was fine. I've been in the process of moving so every weekend. I pretty much just load entire Carlin pool of Shit from my one apartment drive at ninety miles on loaded and then also it's it's it is what it is. I wouldn't call it the most fun weekend. I I remember why is I haven't moved in five years And you know watching a Lotta TV I work harder prepping for our podcast and I do when I actually go to work. Which is interesting But how many of your car loads from Jersey City Moorestown are full of comic books and nothing else? It was only one Carla of comic books. I used to have like about six thousand six. I actually sold a bunch of them. The last time I moved down to just like the real. The you know the Nettie graded.

"The winter before I went into the frank. I made an impulse decision after not speaking for three years. I sent David a handwritten letter asking him to spend a week in Utah with me that Spring. The only thing stranger than my invitation was his reply text the same day he opened my letter. Yes in the two months between my invitation. His arrival we stayed in touch by snail mail. David bought a pocket sized mole. Skin notebook that we mailed back and forth half a dozen times creating an artifact of reminescent S- and our anticipation. Utah my old Subaru. We camped hiked and soaked in hot springs. David taught me to climb just outside Logan on a perfect Crisp Bluebird Day. He told me to trust my feet and I slowly became more confident in the stability of my toes on tiny holds. I started to feel more secure in my relationship with David to. I felt justice safe lying next to him my tent as I did when he believed me. We spoke openly about our feelings past and present for the first time. I didn't have to figure out what he was thinking because he just told me he had been in love with me in college to our trip to. Utah affirmed every feeling about David. I'd had for years. I was certain that we understood each other. In a way that very few people to and that I really really loved him at the end of our trip dropped him off at the airport on somewhat ambiguous terms we worked together but I felt hopeful that we weren't saying goodbye. We kept in touch after he returned to Boston though are writings to each other took on a different energy with no rendezvous to anticipate our exchanges became slower less interesting three months later. When I got the Frank Church I continued to trust my feet climbing just a couple of times in. Utah was enough to reframe what I believed my body could do. I crawled into caves looking for pictographs. Artifacts zoomed up rough terrain for a better view of the valleys below and waited across. Swift CREEKS IT FELT. Good to traverse the frank confidently looking up at my surroundings. Instead of down at my boots trusting my feet became the guiding principle of my outdoor pursuits. And my work is a writer. It gave me faith through difficult processes and uncertain outcomes and the courage to take risks. Knowing that I could weather whatever came next. I'm not sure why David and I kept writing to each other while I was in the frank but I loved pulling the small box that held our mole skin notebook out of the big mustard yellow mail bag every other Wednesday. I saved for last every time waiting until after it examined each of my letters postcards and packages twice. I throw the notebook into my daypack. Find a quiet place down by the river or up on the ridge and crack it open reading as slowly I could from there. I had a week to reply to gather my response and to try to express my experiences in the deep back country Tuesday nights at put on my headlamp and walked down to the mailbox at the edge of the airstrip. I felt closer to the outside world when I reached into the dark mailbox almost as though I could touch my normal life if I stretched just a little a few Wednesdays into the summer I put a notebook out of the mail bag and read. The first few pages of David's letter were standard description of his recent trip up. Mount Ranier a few paragraphs about his progress toward finding a new apartment and then an unpleasant surprise a question about where I saw our lower case our relationship going. I spent the next six days deciding how truthful I wanted to be. I knew the best way to keep David around was to lie to say that I was up for anything and happy to keep all this unlabeled an undefined. But that wasn't what I wanted. I wanted him in my life. I plan to graduate in less than six months so it didn't seem so unreasonable that we might live in the same city soon and give ourselves a chance to be happy together once and for all. I trusted my feets and replied truthfully. Let's give this thing a shot by wrote. It's been ten years of tension and uncertainty. Why not try?.

"The Taylor station is run by the University of Idaho where I was a graduate student studying science communication for the first time in my life I got paid do creative work outdoors beyond that. It was a project of my own design. I would conduct research and write an essay collection exploring the unique ecology and culture of the Frank. I was one of six students station there for the summer. We were isolated from the rest of the world. A single male plane connected us to civilization coming and going every Wednesday every other day of the week. We'd scatter by ten. Am to fish. Hike or click data for a research projects. But Wednesday's Wednesdays were Christmas. We'd wake up and sit around the kitchen table drinking coffee and eating pancakes ears perked for the home of the Mail plane in the distance when the plane landed eagerly collect a postcard or to at least a couple of letters from friends and occasionally a real treat like a package for my sister full of chocolate and new socks. I was almost always surprised by the contents of the Mail plane but I could count on one constant every other Wednesday a small box with an even smaller notebook inside full of David's delightfully sloppy handwriting..

"Laura Body welcomed the bill and Frank E. Pop culture. I am frank and with me as always bill. How're you doing good but I'm not alone? No your not. Why aren't you alone? Bill? It's one of those special nights where we've invited our favorite pipe. Smoking boat loving bearded Hillbilly John Beaver to join us. Because we have some things that John can provide a unique perspective on tonight that we want to talk about. The first time that anybody from Haddonfield New Jersey was called a hillbilly good point. That is very true. I we're we're we're very rare breed of country country music Levin hillbillies from Haddonfield. That's accurate once again. Bill Frank have fallen off the wagon. We skipped one week two weeks. How many weeks do we? We put two weeks to episodes out in one week. And then we skipped. We were supposed to record which I thought was which I thought was very kind. I thought so too if people should feel very blessed Hash Tag Hash but then we were going to record Sunday but Kind of got away from us. You are at all day wrestling tournament with the L. Dog. So we kind of put that on hold and well but it only took. Us three days to reschedule. I don't feel too bad about it. Yeah so this is a weird time of year right. Like there's not a ton going on I think it you know. We started this year off saying we were going to try to be more interesting. We're going to try to watch wrestling and you know here. We are in the post rumble wrestlemainia season. There's still not in my opinion a lot to talk about although it has been a little better like Roy in particular has. There's a couple of things that we probably will get into next time. We talk. But there's a couple of things going on that I like anytime edges involved like full-time on that story line. I love it so has he been on. Has he been on since Randy beat the shit out? He's been selling the injury but I thought his wife.

"Hello everyone and welcome to bill and frankie pop culture. I am frank going to be a little bit different this week. It's just me i don't have my i- lifelong companion soulmate bill next to me but <hes> we decided together that it was better to put out a special bonus different episode than no episode at all this week so that's exactly what you're going to get something. That's a little bit different different than we're used to different content different structure and different production bill is the ace behind all of the editing and <hes> music and sounds that you hear on the week to week basis year makes us sound pretty and professional and <hes> <hes>. I don't do any of that stuff and i couldn't if i tried so i'm just gonna come to you fresh and unfiltered this week and we'll see where it goes so bear with me and <hes> i still think we'll be able to put together a pretty decent show so fifty years ago this week was probably one of the most underrated forgotten rock and roll oh festivals ever the atlantic city pop festival of nineteen sixty nine and my father was there and he sent me this text yesterday morning fifty years ago today. I was reborn born at the atlantic city race track what i would see that day will stay with me. As long as i live in changed me forever. Mike carabello arms playing conga with a huge afro greg rowley saying it looks like we'll stick with the latin shit. You guy seemed to dig it more joe cocker asking me to hand him a floor tom in those famous boots two feet from my face. The next time i saw those boots was in the woodstock movie. Frank zappa deceased driving a station wagon filled with the mothers of invention and canned heat with bob hite also deceased sitting on the tailgate that unknown guy standing up giving the finger anger screaming. Well fuck you too hugh masekela. Please don't ever let these stories die so i wanted to read that you guys because i think it's a pretty cool piece of american rock and roll history and also is an amish to my father to never let those stories die as he asked <hes> you know he's been telling me their stories. Since i was little mike carabello belo in greg rally of course at the time in santana <hes> in the buzi refers to of joe cocker's you'll so you can see him in the woodstock movie when he's singing help a little help from my friends they're they're blue leather with white stars on them like the american flag cost boots. I just picture frank zappa and those those maniac shim muslim invention their car. Just what a different scene in time it was back then for music. The next thing i wanted to talk about was <hes> jump in the comics here for a second so you know d. C. has recently launched their black label and you know from the very we start the first couple things that happened with the to me. Were just a little funky right so what happens i they retroactively a brand the white knight shaun murphy's white knight as the black label after it had already been out in singular issue for him and completed had raised success. They go in they they they. They retro label it. The black label.

"So like I made in calls. Musky Festus past weekend. So yeah, we add Frank. How would you describe your Muskie fest. Yeah, Muskie fest. My girl at the five topics wasn't there, so it's not worth about. We already said, this person doesn't even exist, so we'll, why doesn't she exist? Why Jesus. Here's my question. How do people look at someone like I've been to five weddings this summer. I've been to five and each wedding I've asked myself the exact same question. How do you look at that person across the alter from you and be like, Depp that's it. The wrong fucking people. Exactly. Exactly. So there's twenty fucking losers when it comes down the Riemann on this podcast, who's they don't date? We don't date. We don't do that. It's like not a thing that we've been known for. Always all these on dates, but I never followed through. I think a lot of people do it because they're pressured. They social pressures are supposed to have a girlfriend. So. Settling, but like your check box that you were talking about the only check off like two or three of them and they and they just hope that the other two don't really matter. And it's like, hopefully, as time goes on, you know, I'll learn to like this person more than I do, and I was on the case, same case with everybody. But I mean, there's, there's always gonna be issues no matter what. So I don't know how the hell the conversation you're having on pros and Joe's today, but. Well, here's, here's my love. Life goes. NBA player this talk about me or sets situation, so it's not. Here's how all of my relationships go. I find a person I jump right in so fast. I'm all in from day one and very much confirm all of this and, oh, I know I know how operate and I hang out with that person. I let that person meet my friends. I have a lot of fun. It's fun and you earth that bridge and then things and things aren't the heat up. They start to get more and more and then I see how they truly are, how they act when there's more and I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I don't like it. There's been times where something's been said or things of mine used that I don't like, or it's just like, or somebody else tells me about a past of theirs, and I'm just like, all right, this is over. And what I do is the relationship literally crashes and burns. Yeah, really friends with them per se. After after everything. Every girl I've ever dated absolutely hates me hates, hates lows entirely. So I hope one day that in the karma sense of the world, that means that the person I do find. Just love me so much. Gene because I have gotten a lot of hate Frank, mother, Mother Theresa died a while ago, man, I dunno, she's not my type touchdown like that. Not the break conversation. You're breaking conversation yet. So you're saying that Frank should marry Mother Theresa? Well, I mean, Frank. Maybe you know relationship with their before she took her vows. Maybe maybe I don't know. Once you're out of the league eventually at some point in time, you'll soul searching for like six, twelve months. You end up in, you know. Yeah, Thailand or like. In mongolia. I like me me as good. So you're saying that person it's not, you know, you have no fault. There's no issues on your end. It's everybody else. This is Dr. Phil right here come on down the couch, mothers doctor door and advice. Allen average, Alex average. We're just here to help. I'm lost. I'm a lost puppy. So I, I think this is relatable, though the hope and Joe's thing the ethics in the NBA Alex, nine..

"Hello, everyone and welcome to another episode of pros and Joe's. I am Frank Kaminsky back from the dead. We miss last week's episode but Ben allegro I know you wanted it from us. But sorry, we couldn't give it to you, but we're back this week and we hope we have a good one in store for you. Ben, I would just like to say from the bottom of my heart, I've never met an apology with more sincerity than I say this right now. I'm sorry, we will let you down. We appreciate your support, Matt Davies. We're not really sure what you're up to your kind of become the Benedict Arnold of this podcast. So you know the tape is still output. Ben. We're very sorry for for people is Alex people that don't know what the hell they're talking about. These two are super fans. They respond everything on Twitter and and Ben allegro was devastated last week and we didn't release episode so that Ben, this episode's for you. This are fan appreciation episode, so yeah. Great to be back. I wanna start this podcast off with talking about how hard it is actually to do a podcast. Personally, we've had some well, not some. We've had a lot of issues with audio always seems to be difficult. We don't have a background in audio. We're not intelligent. We had to figure a lot of this stuff out on our own and we're still doing it. So we can't be perfect every week, but we try our best to give you guys Kerman idea of how recording at we. So we used to have a studio here in Chicago, and everyone was here and Alex. And I show up because francs, obviously in Charlotte and all of our mics were gone. So it makes it very difficult to record a podcast without any way to get your audio in. So me and doorstep, the past hour and a half drive around Chicago, picking up miscellaneous pieces that allow us to record this episode. So just it's not easy. It's not all fun and games. It's not all you know. Grass isn't always greener on the other side. That's a, that's what we're saying. Silicon are currently sharing a Mike, and there's probably a sixty five percent chance we accidentally kiss while we're recording this first time that's happened though. It's not the signs of been. There would actually be like the fiftieth time that's happened actually, which is kinda weird. But Yep, Zohreh it's great to be back. I mean, I'm excited we back and endorse it yesterday realize that we're not in is gonna shape as we used to be. So no, Frank. I gotta be honest with you my entire genitalia region than I have encompassing taint all the way up through the inner thighs is about as tight as a rubber band right now. I think my legs are going to snap in half. Here's. The thing I've realized about our lives in contrast. So we played football for about an hour yesterday I was the quarterback and they were playing offense defense and apparently twenty six year old males twenty five twenty six year old males don't know what the fuck cardio is. Don't have a cardiovascular system whatsoever. Dorset literally runs like he has shit in his pants that you do not have good for many more literally seem like you're but was lowering every single stride you made. I actually was a collegiate athlete at one point in time division three, of course, but baseball's much different than football. I'm very good in very quick, very quick bursts. I don't even think that's true. That's true anymore. Unless I give me and you were guarding me, I think I was getting open. It will. So unless I give you a perfect pass, you're not that great which I through. Some absolute dimes yesterday. Okay. So the Frank dick sucking fest has begun us through directly back through directly into the sun. I had man to man coverage not only had to battle another man. I had to battle a son, something that keeps his planet moving, made the catch, took it for a fucking touch down. Because of my perfect throat. Frank, I lean crabs just added a photo. We need to let you know that Facebook wanted to let you know that. So we're, we're FaceTime with Frank right now of doors phone. So. Yeah, for me occurred. He was not the issue for me..
