Interview With Shane Balkowitsch

"Well hello everyone and welcome to another podcast from frames magazine my name is scott olsen and today we are going old school and we are going deep into a really really wonderful type of photography. That's not practice very much anymore and really frankly when you see it. It's going to knock your socks off. We're talking with shane belkevich. Shane happens to live just a couple hours. West of me out here on the great plains of north america up north dakota chain that afternoon. How's everything out in the middle part of the state. good scott. thanks for having me on. We've got a little snow last night. Which was a very welcomed. Got a little snow over here. It's cold it's january is imagine about winner on the american that should be asked should be. You're absolutely right shane. You are just absolutely mesmerizing with the work. You're doing you do wet plate colin on photography. You do when one of the earliest styles of photography and admit you know. When i first heard about it i thought why in the world would anyone want to go through that amount of work for an image that i can do in my mirrorless. Dsl are very quickly. And then i realized how wrong. I was can't do that image and i certainly can't come up with a product that you've come up with so first question for people that that are familiar with the process. What is wet plate photography. What is the whole call it on process. Yeah so a wet plate clothing. Photography's invented by frederick scott archer in. He started working on about eighteen. Forty eight we believe in eighteen fifty one. He came out with a journal article in a scientific journal and presented it to the world. So what we're doing. I'm sure many of your listeners. Know about daguerreotype process which was invented by the declare. The frenchman About ten years. Before what plaguing frederick scott archer wanted to improve on that and This is what he came up with and the final product. And what your comment about why. You can't capture wet played in a modern a digital camera. Is that this is completely analog and the final images the images that i make. I an amber typist. That means i make my photographs on glass specifically for me black glass and these images are made out a pure silver on glass. And what's about silver silver does not degrade so these images that i have Have made over the last eight years of made a three eight hundred of them all by ten most most eight by ten black last amber types of they'll be here thousand years from now broken which which is not something you can save for princeton pigments in paintings and other things like that so the these are very archival images and i. it's just a very very romantic process. i was never photographer before. A two thousand twelve took my first exposure on october. Fourth never owned a camera. And i just find myself chasing this this historic process. It is really really interesting and we need to tell people that there is a movie out. There is called belkevich b. a. l. k. o. w. i t. s. c. h. on video. It's on amazon. Prime it is a documentary about you and your work and folks. You need to go there. You need to watch this film if you are in the any kind of photography. You need to do this but shane one of the things. That really intrigued me. Watching the film is that most of us that are in the photography files were making digital files. Or you know. We're coming up even if we're still dealing with old thirty five millimeter film or that kind of stuff Medium format film. You know we come up with a negative but then you know actual print is a temporary thing. You much more like a sculptor are making an object's this glass plate and it's not revisable you can't go back and tweak the highlights you can't go back and ask grain if you want. What is the appeal of making that object versus a kind of idea. We have to understand most web play. Cloudy and artists There was one here in bismarck. North dakota orlando scott gough. When he he was known for capturing the first ever photograph of sitting. Bull here bismarck. In the in this process that i practice and i i happen to capture ernie lapointe the great grandson. The city hundred thirty five years later in the same town in the same process but goth would have made a negative like you had said he would make a glass of so instead of putting his images onto black glass which you cannot contact with. He would have used clear glass. Clear glass as you insinuated. You can make multiple copies and you can enter. The final product in that scenario is a print. Because you want to be able to sell you know apprentice shayna print scott where wants to print you can make as many prints of these want is your business and it. Did you know good to have a one off plate because you and you know when you're talking about eighteen fifty one is no way of duplicate and they didn't have scanners and we couldn't do anything like that so you know. I think there's something very special about the the fact that these images are one offs and they can never be duplicated in they can never be replicated. When i make one of these images. I've for instance. I've dropped an image once and tried to go five minutes later. Ten minutes later tried to make this image with the same sitter the same camera. The same lenses saint chemistry. And i can never get back to that so if you look at this romantically. I'm not actually taking snapshots people actually making ten second movies. I'm still life movies. Because my exposures in my natural studio that i built here in bismarck. It's called nostalgic glassware plate studio the first one in in the country bill of the ground up and over a hundred years. I'm making ten second exposure. So there's heartbeats and there's blood flowing through the person there's a couple. Maybe a blinker to and what. I really love about this is. Maybe there's a thought so. I'm capturing thought on that piece of glass pure silver. That'll be here on.

"Time with Kay at his home studio talking about a fantastic avalanche win. My brother Marty. Everyone loves a good redemption story when the opportunity arises like it did for Avalanche goalie for the group our he took advantage of his chance. After allowing 56 goals. San Jose scored Monday. Is it time for me to break up with my business partner?

"This is very timely question for today. Skewing a wednesday About breaking up with a business partner Just on monday we head michelin. Connie our guest teacher talk about how to find the right co founder or business partner theft emit an existing relationship is something that's not easy to manage especially when has been going on for a decade like in paul's case so before we make a big decision like breaking up or buying them out. I have a few tips a few things. I want you to do or consider before you make this decision. First of all if things have been intense for twelve months for a year between you and your business partner. I'm sure they feel the same way. I'm sure they feel like this is not working. I'm sure they're frustrated and tired. And if you approach them on the subject. They're not gonna be surprised second. No one likes to be in the situation so everybody in this equation wants relief you relief. They want relief. You just have to initiate this conversation. And that's where i want to begin. You have to have an honest and open conversation with your business partner. I suggest that you actually schedule this time. do it. maybe at the start of the day On a day that you're not busy Where you have other stresses to take care of. You wanna have a bit of time and you don't want this meeting to be rushed in fact. Maybe she step away from the office and do this Breakfast at a cafe on a walk and just block book three hours of time. You know it may not take three hours. But the point here is that you don't feel rushed and the purpose of this conversation is it just put the cards on the table and talk about. Hey this is not working. Let's figure it out what's going on. Let's try to make this work. Okay you want to try to salvage of the relationship because you invested in this relationship if you ever were to replace his business partner it's going to take some time to ram them up and to build the same amount of trust have built an incredible trust with each other and that has a lot of value in business and i would just take the initiative of framing the conversation and say hey. We've both been frustrated this past year. It's been a very rockier very stressful. We've been arguing a lot You know actually notice of arguing once a week. I wanna clear the air. I want us to have a conversation where no one is judged everybody's allowed to express themselves and say what they want to say without any judgment or without any Criticism and this is a highly emotional conversation. So that intro is going to kind of calm things down. It also helps to have some structure because when you're having conversations like this it's easier to talk over each other so even if you have to say hey Let's allow each other. Have a moment to say their piece and not interrupt each other even if you have a timer on your phone and you say hey everybody gets five minutes uninterrupted just to get started so everybody can just say how they're feeling. You'll be surprised a lot of times when you do this. The other party is like i feel exactly the same way. I agree with ninety nine percent. Of what you're saying but there is something that we do disagree on and that's where you wanna get to. Hey this is one thing that we both agree on this. What's really bothering us. And it could be various things that could be. Maybe your approach to where you're going to go in the future how you want to expand what markets want expand in who will kind of customers you want to serve If you wanna take on funding or not all that kind of stuff sometimes i it's it's a wedge between two partners because one wants to do one the other one doesn't want to there's something under there and that's what we want to get to you. Wanna ask them why. Why do not want to do this. What about that makes you feel uncomfortable. And usually that's where the truth lies. People will say. Well i don't want to take on funding or debt. Because i want to be free. I didn't start a business to grow by You know all means. I can grow at my own pace and keep my tawny and that's something i really value. But they're not just going to say that just off the bat it's hard it's really you know dug deep emotions so we gotta put pull back the layers a little bit and ask. Hey why do you disagree with us. What's stopping you from doing this or you can express. This is about stopping me. This was making me feel this way. The other thing you want to explore is maybe things have changed for either person in the relationship During this decade okay their life might have changed. They might have gotten married. They must have kids. Maybe their life might have changed and they might have gone married. Have kids might have different responsibilities. Maybe they have to take care of their parents now and the services of their in when they started the business or not the same the trying to get something else out of the business then they started with

Bringing Hope for Heart Failure with CCM Therapy with Simos Kedikoglou

"Cmos such a pleasure to have you here today. Thank you very much sean. It's great to be here. Thank you and so you know you are In from the uk and a love that you know the work you guys are doing from there is translatable. You know the nih and there's a lot of learning that we could do in the us health system and overall just In general across the globe. But you know before we dive into the work that you're doing at impulse than amex tell us a little bit about you and what inspires your work in. Healthcare against cat is eight phil to work in because you cannot do well for our employees for shareholders for the people of the impulse team by doing good for the patients getting the best thing for the patient galloping damage what inspires every day. We have quite a lot of Gauged on our website where patients themselves are talking with them or they spontaneously talked about how we have been able to change. That lives in. This is very motivating. That he's Everybody wants to have professional fulfillment but seeing this patient at being able to play with the grandchildren go shopping. Were their partner win. The davis likud then is something we find very motivating. Yeah for sure. And it's just a an amazing time to be able to do it. We do in health care and so talk to us about your company and how exactly you guys are adding value to the healthcare ecosystem. Yes they now makes has developed. Ccm technology which is for patients in with caught fire. We had intervention had feigned grew. Having implantable device is for those patients that have exhausted financial statement by that not yet sick enough to qualify for a heart transplant or a full replacement off the palm of device. This is a lot of patience. Six or seven million patients globally. Roughly one one and a half in the united states and these the hatfield epidemic is growing fast the american heart estimates that is growing aspect four percent but he had a number of grocery four percent but he had are very valid our patients they can walk at most one flight of stairs. They can walk a thousand feet and then they stopped short of breath. They edit three from deep official daily life. They cannot go to church or the synagogue. They cannot go shopping. They cannot spend time with family went. We do is to try to help them to leave the latch that we have developed so extensive clinical trials and genetic development a device that makes them be to enjoy life again and we have immortal that the hope is here and i think this is how we think we're adding value now. We have also shown on many occasions that will reduce there okay. The frequency of their visits to the hospital the space course very much and so we save on resources. We have a detached of technology allows them to go for long without the pledge. Michelle we do. Take into account the economics. We actually value to the system but we also create value to the patients themselves by to join that lives. Now that's fantastic and simos so the so the work you guys doing. Obviously you guys have brought the technology to the us really globally. You're based in europe. But sounds like you're making a big difference here would you say makes. Ccm therapy just different or unique and what it's able to provide to patients show the communist based out of the united states and the technology brain development has been done in the united states. You jesse is unique is that we are helping people through a completely different way before People getting mushroom shorter treatment. Obviously everybody will exist for excitement before they concede that any device but instead of moving to the very invasive transplants ridiculous divides thinks that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars Ways for the patient we have stimulate or show. Take very unique concept we had. We had to develop survey stake in more than twenty years of research and more than obligations that basically trains the myocardium eight single it like when you go to the treadmill and you Start getting exercise overtime over the three months winter. You start feeling better. It's a very similar without device to very simple implant. It's now the fifth generation of the infants advantage simply for forty five minutes at basis typically. Go back out the same day at home and they don't even need anesthesia for implantation. Just like the dacian. This feeling better. They see the effect building up and This is what they consider. Unique is not only that it's a completely different not replacing the pump. Were just training the supporting the pump and training it to make able to deliver the blast at body needs but also that it's a fairly simple process. You know justified the five minute implant. The patient typically has to charge because we usually childhood by any to charge launch a week for forty forty five minutes and we have shown that more than ninety nine and a half percent of patients soundtrack. Because they see improvement cho- i would consider the uniqueness here is the concept itself which is malaysian. But from the patient's standpoint relatively big help for a relatively low invade not very invasive procedure and not quieting loss from this patient other than a weekly detach very good very good and is it charged externally or how how is it. It is a tax completely Just like your to say back. The judging and In new generations of the device which i'm happy to talk we are actually improving what we get out of. The device show not only the patients chancing but also devices being every week so we get out of the typical court lahore liberty three months in check your device which is just a bad into the basin. We have to think it through from the beginning in a way that is convenient to the patient inefficient for the healthcare system.

Thanks for the opportunity us. Thank you so much. This is kind of weird for us because usually wearing your seat and we're in viewing the guests we just got done with the podcast legit. I'm gonna tell you right now. Legit i cried because the lady prayed for us. We're we're christians and churches been shitty right now because of covid and i don't know it was amazing like literally five minutes ago ben in our bolts gearing up or like holy shit. We got a report on somebody. Else's i know and ben ben has ever been on anyone else's podcasts. Have you yes. Oh you have who eric sane. I'll that one doesn't count. He was he we were. We were on his show as paid sponsor through. That's right but anyways i've been on a few shows But never been in is duo. So i'm excited for this here. For the dynamic duo experience yes you got it so so yeah we. We've been recently. We've been bringing on some podcasters to to talk about issues that are important to them to say what needs saying to talk about the things that are often ignored in not talked about. So we we want to bring this platform to people where people feel comfortable talking about whatever it is that they need to say and not feel afraid of being condemned for their thoughts or their views or what they are deciding to talk about. You know things like that and so we get into some of these sensitive subjects and source objects. That people don't like talking about so. I want you guys to kind of bring us into speed immigrants. So what we're going to be focusing on. Today's men suck taking care of their mental health. A let it slide. And they look after their families if they're married or they look after their significant others or whatever the case may be men for whatever reason by nature are horrible when it comes to taking care of their mental health. And what do i mean by mental health. I would say the thoughts that go on in their head about who they are what their role is in the world That they may be carrying around with them. Perhaps there's even some depression all these things. Doubts fears anxieties tuition. We live in a world. That's that men are just supposed to suck it up and show up and make it happen and never deal with that stuff. And i'm fed up about it. You know yeah. I completely agree. I mean there's so many times where these the my community. I hear a lot of people say you know. Just people like people express their you know their perspective as means now and i saw one. That says a personal say. I'm good until they're in a dark place a depression. But are you are you okay. I'm good no matter what it is you know. You said you're not supposed to be crying. Your man are you out of your mind. What type of hostile. What level of hostility mrs harbor. Or you know what level of detriment comes from harboring this level of emotional expressionist being. What's your jason. Yeah i mean. I have to. You know i saw brandon. Real quick and brandon is black. And so i know in the black community. Mental health is worse in the community. So that being said. I'm kind of flip the question on you. Have you experienced that a little bit member. We're we're fellow podcast sir. So we're gonna flip it and you experienced that kind in. Do you feel like it's like that and in the black community. I'll give you this. I recently because this valentine's day coming up this sunday. yup. I saw post that Why are men now. This is from the communities from other african americans or other black they said why are men nachos yvonne times day is for women and i quote that this gay that is specifically for women and that term alienates any feminine or even you know quote unquote especially your insider liking hours of wanting chocolate or one. You can care for wanting a gift on the day. They express his love for a couple chastised to have this. Like you know. I'm about to get a gift for the first time from ivonne signs. They should i not. Should you take more money in the flowers back. There's always the joke to the serious side of really such a pivotal point because it affects. How people even correlate love and responsibility to their kids and to their why into their spouse and men not even being emotionally available for me to be you know. Do they even get so point of marriage or are they even able to sustain a real relationship with their kids so you can follow us really. Show love to the show. A love should look like you know what i mean. I think. I think they can show love to their daughters. They struggled showing love to their son's. Yes just because all. You're a man your boy. You're not so sure. Show those feelings going back to the gift of valentine's i mean yeah. Do i want flowers for my wife. I wouldn't be like oh this. Is you know you had said like. Oh this is gay which is bad to say anyways. But i wouldn't say that. I wouldn't be like oh that's weird but it wouldn't be like uncomfortable for me.

The Power of Audio with Audioburst founder and CEO Amir Hirsh

"Historically it's becoming more and more accessible but how can audio be more accessible so when we started audio your we analyzed. How come we as a personal fans of podcasts in your content and radio content as well thought that there's always all the answer that you want and all the content exists out there. How come he doesn't pick up on the internet. The hukou doesn't pick up on the new digital world and age the same as text and video n. there were several challenges that we've analyze and found them that what we've built around in order to solve his that audio in many aspects is not very easily discoverable. So you can't search audio. You can't came on your. You can't share argue a lot of the times. The audio content was one hour or forty. Five minute long of podcasts or radio show now is very accessible. You can't search for it. You can't look for specific clip or area that you'd like to listen instead of listening fully immersed into the whole show and you couldn't share any of it so what we've done in audio versus that we've built an ai engine that listens to vast amount of audio content. Have it be podcasts. Radio online videos that pretty much became slide with the audio content behind it and in an essence does three actions wanted analyzed it and cut it into short clips so we were able to take a long form show and cut it into the individual items that conversations the topics the questions that happened within it allowing users to get into specific point than sample what they're looking for the second is that we've index each clip that the we call burst we've added as much as possible transcriptions keywords entities source time a mood analytics number of speakers. There's plenty of dimensions that we've added to each clip like that so we'll be able to find it afterwards when the user can't and then we've added that delivery mechanism. Api layer and then on top of it as decay an imitable player for the web and libraries for and android to allow the different products and the different places where users are today to add an embiid audio layer to their products the main essence and misses that we wanted to do an auburn while making acceptable is making it extremely easy for products to add an audio layer and our dimension to what they're offering to their clients and to their users instead of asking the uses to come look for audio summer to come download an app or look for it online. We said no. I want the to be able to listen to their podcasts. Within the running up on the websites to be able to add the audio interview of the person mentioned within the article in the article itself and available that way. We're working on integration with podcasts. Search and audio playlist to be added to automotive to oem's and tier one. So when we drive. I want the or your car to greet you. Good morning. Allen here's the Traffic report and here's what happened in the news. And by the way. I know that you asked about tesla stock last night. Now i'm sorry a couple of days ago here is a couple of Analyst talking about it. That i've found over the night while you were sleeping. That kind of mechanism makes audio is easy and accessible to users wherever they are whenever they are just a touch away or command away or click away and that's the mission that we've done in august and it's quite the future picture. Frankly it's happening today. Alan i gotta tell you so. No no i know. I know it's it's amazing to me. I know you've you've been spending a ton of time building the tech in the meta data structures to make that possible and you talked about a few of the potential customers or ecosystem that you operate in like the news aggregate or the even the automotive industry. Can you go a little deeper for me. Like tell me a little bit more about like where audio burst operates today and like what are some additional use cases where you see your technology fitting in happy to one you remember. We started this conversation with you calling me crazy so i still need to convince you whether you know or futuristic or it's happening today. We were lucky enough happy enough to have multiple great partners invest in our company and work with us hand in hand to build this future. Earth with juristic thing. So you'll see among our investors for example samsung and hyundai and denso giants from the mobile and consumer electronics through the automotive and media world. That have joined with us in this effort to make this happen and that was an incredible. That is an incredible journey for us to do. Other birds today is live and via our player in. Api's and as decays in our have added all your to mobile apps such as flipboard the news break to websites of variety sizes of styles of and topics verticals with our impeccable player. And i think on the automotive that you said sounds of fridge ristic we have a few not live yet but few sees that we're working with leading oem's fortunately i'm not allowed to disclose on unique playlists to be added to their infotainment system to search engine behind voice activation. So you'll say hey name your Favorite car what's the latest on president by then or what's going on with the dallas cowboys or howled the markets of behaving today and you know the for time-to-time some of the existing voice activation will give you a robotic answer. A some clipper what auburn is offering them to dan. The what we're doing with them is the will provide you with the latest clip from professionally produced provider of the content from experts in the media world from the analysts from the best radio stations. Or podcast that will really give you an answer that you'll enjoy listening to that. You can stay focused on that you can listen for you know a few minutes of enrichment content while you dr. So and companies that were working with that are adding the sinking ability into smart earbuds. So you can do it in your car when you jog on when you run either from your app from earbud itself. These are exciting times. I can tell you. In the beginning. It took companies and customers of our some time to adapt and understand the message that we've done but twenty twenty really opened their eyes and saw how much the uses are dying to get talk content and podcasts and user errors. The case every brandon every company out there all of a sudden can become an audio media world and audio media provider. Because they don't need to be worrying about that layer they just add this became we handle everything for them and delight their users. It's pretty. I mean it's amazing. What the infrastructure that you've built behind the scenes if you will of these different applications at frankly proliferation i guess of where it could show up. I mean some amazing amazing platform that you're building from online news sites to encourage experiences to while on the go to your point. I mean i think that is the power of audio is that it can pretty much follow you throughout your day without interrupting. Whatever it is that you need to be doing at that moment in time or where you need to be going. that's amazing.

Choosing the Right Podcast Format

Choosing the Right Podcast Format

"Right. How to format your podcast. Why do you need the format your podcast. Why are these questions that keep coming because every time we get started before you ready to hit record on your show. There's some simple choices that you have to make that outline the format of your show these choices give your show the structure it needs to deliver a consistent experience for your audience. What do i mean. Well imagine this that some weeks show is two minutes and others. It's two hours and sometimes the show was funny. Sometimes it's serious and sometimes they talk about expert topics and sometimes they're just doing comedy all day. You wouldn't know why you're tuning into that show. You wouldn't know why you should listen. You wouldn't have a reason to go there every week now. There are a few people that get away with. This are the celebrities in their game. They can afford to do a variety show but for most of us for most of you starting podcast today. that don't already have that built in audience. You have to be more specific. You have to give your show and identity that people understand when they are searching for you get to give them a reason to tune in every week that they can count on that consistency matters. So these choices you have to make about your show. We'll give it structure the structure and needs to deliver a consistent experience for your audience. These are the first questions most people ask when starting. When i'm giving some coaching advice. I have people talked about how to start their podcast when i when i coached him on how to launch. When i'm doing that these are always first questions. Come up they come up on. Discovery calls the come up an actual podcast coaching sessions. That i'm running. And i'd like to just get them out of the way here. If it helps you get started awesome so the reason that most people ask these questions because they're like well i've seen so many different examples of which shows are out there what you know. I don't know which one to pick him. What would be the best one that would suit me. So that's what we're going through this today. So here are the three kind of bigger groupings of things. We'll talk about. We'll talk about the bill of this show. We'll talk about the flow of the show. And we're gonna talk about the production of it right. These are the things that would you know that form the basic show format so. Let's talk about the bill. I the build starts with the parameters of the show. This includes the length of the show the frequency. How often you put shows out and the consistency. And what i want to say about that. Especially we'll talk about the links right so the length is literally how long is show going to be. Is it going to be five. Minutes is it can be one hundred minutes. Whatever whatever going to be. I'll tell you this with most people should will tell you is that it doesn't matter right as long as you pick something that makes sense that you know you should record for as long as it takes to get the point across. I'll tell you slightly something different. If your show is an interview you should be aiming for about forty five minutes. Why is that well because when you book interviews. Most people want to give you one hour of time lot of some people that are higher harder to get willing give half hour but for the most part if you aim for an hour of time that means you have time at the beginning to say hello to your guests before you record to get them acclimated with this show and it gives you a little bit of time after the show five ten minutes to recap safe thank you and have any final chitchat with your guest. So that forty five minute forty to forty five minute window of actual content is all you need and then your bolt onto that the intros and things that you're going to do at the end of the show so that all package together ends up being about forty. Five minutes of contact could be a little more. Could be less. That can be a goal for you for interviews. it's a solo show. You might want to cut that down a little bit. I would aim for somewhere between ten and twenty minutes of content. That ends up being just the right amount where you can actually get your ideas across in simple to understand manner and also if you're turning this into something that's transcribed into a blog or something like that. It is the right amount of content that fits into something readable for people also about fifteen. Ten between ten and twenty minutes is about what youtube likes. We're looking at video when you edit these things down you're going to be right in that sweet spot to the right amount of content that works on these platforms. So i i of cilicia and for that there are different formats. If you're doing more of a daily show you might want to end. Aim for something more. That's that smaller quick sized bites but again you got to pick the link that works for what the show is intended to do

What Is Clubhouse and Do You Need to Be on It?

"Talk about clubhouse before we run out of time I what what are your thoughts on club. I feel like clubhouse right now is is like as we speak february twenty. Twenty one is still in private I wouldn't call a beta on the app store. It's invite only right but they seem to be accelerating the invitations to the point. Now where february. Twenty twenty one sort of is the month where clubhouse went big. Yeah i would agree with that. I mean i would say maybe maybe january No yeah i'm trying to think. When was the lawn on. When when did he do the thing that was like it's over joins twitter moment twenty twenty one today january to february. And i'm sure you know in hindsight you know there'll be more people in march and more people in but it's getting a. Can you describe what clubhouse is and then. Tell me your thoughts about it okay. I'm going to find something. That is certainly find my tweet that i sent about it because stevens noffke was annoyed with me but i stand by it. Okay this was. Someone asked me two weeks ago. Says what does one do with clubhouse. And then i wrote waste time. Not working by listening to other people not working talking about stuff. They claim to be experts end but really aren't while hoping for celebrities to show up. That's pretty it's pretty tart. But but i don't disagree with it. And i say this as someone who i've spent a lot of time on clubhouse i've hosted shows on capelle when that was still a beta feature. I think i joined in april. I'm i'm not above this. Like at all. I'm just saying like when i use it. It is usually because it's the end of the day. And there i see one of the main notifications come in that. You know somebody you're on things interesting is going on or i'm like you know kind of trying to avoid doing actual work and so i tune in the afternoon and then listen to other people who are often doing the same thing and then there is that bit of like. Oh and maybe someone famous will pop in. I don't know i'm being totally honest like for me that that is kind of the appeal. That's not to say that. I don't think there. I think that you can have some real substantive and interesting conversations and and there are some really interesting ways it can be used in the way that it's interest. Graph is both connected but disconnected from twitter. I think is interesting i was. I was in a room last week. End someone's a ten year. Old was briefly in the room before that was deemed. I guess not okay. And and We were asking the the youth some questions about their use of technology. And you know they kind of described it. They were like. Oh it's dischord for adults and that's actually not a bad description to be totally honest like it's kind of scored audio groups but you know audio channels for adults. That's that's not a completely terrible analogy I i'm trying to wrap my head around it. I think there are. I do think they're onto something totally. And i also think i haven't quite had this feeling about something since instagram in two thousand ten like so i was not on the instagram beta n. g. siegler was and he tweeted enough like pictures from it. I definitely kind of it was like okay square pictures filters and then i just say on my other. Podcast dithering with ben thompson. I think the episode that aired this morning. That i remember where i was when i realized instagram out of beta and i could sign up. I was with my family down in disneyworld. And i was on a bus going from I think i even remember which park we're going to. We're going from our hotel to the disney studios park on the little disney transportation. Bus and i was like. Oh it's out of beta quick. Get gruber still available got it start clicking around and like within five minutes because you know all of a sudden we're at disney and it's time to have fun and go on rides and stuff. I was like oh this. Is i get this. This is great. You know now. That is the original instagram where it was. Just you post pictures and you see pictures from the people you follow and you can comment on the pictures And you can apply these filters that re- you know at the time was great feature because don't care cell phone cameras still so crappy. The filters it was perfect and histogram or no hips dramatic amount of it was was awesome so it fit without whole asiatic that was happening with the time that made it. Easy to to apply like they. They didn't take as long as you know. Some of the other filter ops did and it. It really made your photos look better and added remember. When they added the tilt shift feature and amazing. Yeah until fisher. Was this massive deal. Because i was like. Oh my god i can take mr rogers pictures right. Like is how i felt at the time. The hips dramatic took so long. And i don't know. I've never to anybody who could explain it. I don't know if they did it on purpose to to fake. Yeah but it hipster. Matic took so long to apply filters remember talking to somebody at apple about near like. Yeah it makes no sense to even if you're using a bat algorithm it shouldn't take that long and it was like crazy. It was frustrating and instagram. Let you like oh this filter. Nope this filter. Nope and they apply instantly. And then you'd pick one that major picture look better then you'd posted and i was like i got it. I was like oh. This is going to be huge. Just a snap judgment. I feel that way. I feel that way about clubhouse with just with a little less certainty because the thing about instagram was i knew i wanted to use it whereas with gregg house. I'm like i get this. I can see why people really get. I don't think this is for me. Yeah no i kind of agree with you. And i'm like i go back and forth about my feeling like i do. I do think that it's you know. Current valuation is kind of insane. Yes drink the concept has massive legs. Absolutely i think the other difference is is that instagram came out. There were a couple of other Kind of competitor's pick please which was available on both ios and android that dalton caldwell who later did app dot net did and the. Didn't you know work and there were some other kind of attempts at doing similar things but instagram was always wear momentum was and i think it's because they had really strong product direction. I think that always going to be getting the product direction in the attic. Usability was key. It was always product. I don't always product. I clubhouse one of those things were not that i don't think we're i wonder if it's going to be more like an instagram stories. Saying we're not as a staff staffed stories. Thanks but you see where. I'm going with this where it's a great idea but it could be potentially co-opted and done better by someone else. Like i feel like twitter spaces. Could you know. Beat it in a way that you know. No one else even had a chance against instagram. Even though instagram was ios only until it was acquired by facebook like no one else even had a chance at sucks all the oxygen out of the room Because it was it was the best. Might i feel like the concept of clubhouse has a lot of legs just don't know of clubhouse it's going to be the thing or if it'll be whatever mark cuban. He thinks he's doing or if it'll be twitter spaces. I don't think it'll be facebook. Facebook single fall flat on. Its face but i do feel like twitter spaces could potentially you know Hold the the instagram move and like make their version of stories way more successful even though it's a blatant copy it's it's better

Paige Bueckers Dominates at UConn

"China's great to have you back on the show. It is always wonderful to be with you. Pablo thanks for having me. China robinson hosts the around the rim podcast and serves as a basketball analyst and calls games for espn. So you are an busy person. The china you just came off calling a game like minutes ago. Described to me what your life is like in this new kind of era of broadcasting. How's it going pablo. I can pretty much that up about three words in the house. That is where. I spend a majority of my time these days. I'm in the house calling games watching film and that's pretty much my wife right now. I come to you the china from a bunk bed inside an airbnb. So i feel all of your pain and i wanna get into women's basketball with the of course and we'll get to the professionals and a little bit but i want to start by asking you about the really the single biggest name that's been dominating the college game pretty much all year as a freshman and that is page bekker's with percents. How would you begin to describe page. Bekker's for someone who's unfamiliar with what she's been up to it yukon Well pablo the word coming out of stores was that page. Bekker's was going to be the next coming of breanna stewart or diana taurasi right. So that's high praise no pressure. Yeah none at all. She was a number one. Overall recruit in the twenty twenty class and her rival in college. Basketball was highly anticipated list. Three beckham's with the rebound put first seconds of her client career where we were literally salivating and watching her highlights from high school wondering if she would be the player to finally get connecticut back to winning championships since keep in mind. They lost in the final. Four in the last three tournaments. Pretty much ever. Since breanna stewart left well pays bekker's is not only a great player. She has six hundred forty nine thousand instagram followers. More uconn legend sue bird by the way when she became the first player in uconn history with three straight thirty point gains. We knew something special was happening and she really hasn't disappointed. I mean her perfect field. Go performance the last five minutes versus number one south carolina that was quite the epic performance bekker's from around the screen and set the stage for what we've been seeing from page so game and her style of play. How would you characterize it. What's made her so dominant as just a freshman making a debut. This impressive at five eleven paid really makes the game easier for everyone else on the court well except her opponents of course.

Is $50,000 BTC the Beginning of a Bitcoin Supercycle?

"What's going on guys. It is tuesday february sixteenth. And today we are talking about. You know it fifty thousand dollar bitcoin and specifically whether it's shows that we are in a bitcoin super cycle so i the news after a week or so of threatening the rubicon was breached this morning between seven forty five and eight am eastern time. Bitcoin punched up above fifty thousand. Now it immediately met cell wall and had a six hundred dollar candle down in is at the time of recording closer to forty nine thousand but to me that technical response is far less significant than these psychological barrier of a fifty thousand dollar being breached so today's special early breakdown is all about that. I reached out to followers this morning. Asking what topics you all thought were important for a fifty k. Show i also popped into a couple of different clubhouse chats to see what people were focused on and overwhelmingly across both of those mediums. The thing that people wanted to talk about is whether this is another indicator that we're in a bitcoin super cycle. I'm going to discuss this. It's going to be the main focus of the show. What the idea of a super cycle is where it came from what it might mean and some different ways to look at it but first let's blast through a few of the other topics folks wanted to disgust. Let's try to start with something that if not negative is sort of dismissive to be honest. It's kind of hard to find those bitcoin stomping face but here we are peter. Brant tweeted fifty. Thousand is a nice round number. That means absolutely nothing. Technically trying to sound smart just sound smart helps to define dumbness now. Let's contextualized. Peter is speaking to a trading audience and that trader audience are not supposed to in their own estimation get emotionally invested in an asset or let narrative shape. What they do. So let's give peter the benefit of the doubt and assume that that's who he's talking to however if he is truly arguing that technicals are all that matter about an asset. The easy rejoinder is that markets are by their very definition a constant give and take between narratives and technicals and frankly narratives tend to reshape the bounds that frame the upside and downside potential of those technical indicators either way for the sake of completeness i wanted to include something sort of negative but i think we can move on next. Let's discuss michael sailor. Just doing michael sailor things about five minutes before fifty thousand was breached. Sailor dropped a new press release from micro strategy long story. Short micro strategy is offering another six hundred million in debt and all the words of the press. Release our legalese. Except for this. Little line micro strategy intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes to acquire additional bitcoins. Pomp summed it up perfectly when he tweeted. Michael sailor is carrying out one of the highest conviction investment thesis we've ever seen in public markets. Incredible to watch okay next. People are wondering how this happened. Or why will. I think the wise a little obvious. We saw an insane amount of positive news last week. Tesla b. and y. Mellon mastercard twitter. Deutsche bank morgan stanley. Every show for the last week has been about some type of crazy positive news. If you've been listening it's hard for that amount of positive news to not have an impact in other words. The specifics of win this fifty thousand dollar price was going to happen. Are for those technicals. That i was mentioning above to figure out but the overall momentum has clearly been in this direction. This actually gets me to another point. I was trying to articulate on twitter. We have this linear time bias. That when things happen quickly we tend to feel like that the thing that was before the you're comfortable with was the correct thing versus the new thing and the new change. That happened really fast. In other words. Bitcoin was between ten thousand. And fifteen thousand for a really long time so fifty thousand seems overvalued but what if instead based on what we now know. Bitcoin was in fact radically undervalued for that. Same ferry long time.

2021 RevTech Survey Results with David Elkington

"Or either everyone welcome to digital conversation inside host. Billy bates joined by david wilkinson chairman jeff phones and we'll be talking about the rebecca benchmark survey that we did in conjunction with the rope. Texoma last month. Dave extra data to do it was a super interesting study given. We're going to be blown away with findings yet. I think it's really interesting. Human doctoral roy did the mit study probably a decade ago. Now were together on putting this together for us So what was the objective with the study and a little bit of african doctoral great and i did a study looking response times on on. How quickly leads go cold. And so we had. I've been a lot of work together. He was teaching at mit. At the time. I think subsequently he's been at several universities teaching locally river secret. Byu so came to us. And said i'd like to actually analyze what's happening in the market around technology that supports this new growth title right so the one thing you shared with is there's a new title essential emerging in the market around growth rate growth revenue marketing revenue growth marketing title. Cheap doesn't said. Hey let's do a study to see what's the technology that supporting that more importantly i think what we're trying to understand was is it. Silence today was becoming the same thing. Let's kinda dig into a little bit of what we found before. Sure some of the methodology. I've got some notes is people doing. This went to the right or to the left. They'll know what i'm doing but the attended the we actually had a shockingly large number of respondents. We had almost nine hundred respondents survey today. That's that's a crazy number honestly yet. The reason we were able to to get such a large number is this was tied to your event Everyone that registered had the option to take the survey took anywhere to five minutes depending on how detailed you want to be But we went through. We were asking. Okay what are you guys use in the jags revenue technology. We broke it down the do of what we thought were the top ten. Kelly works and the findings were really interested. So yeah the categories were. We were looking. Well i think i have it here. Kind of standard categories. You'd expect so yes. See our marketing. Automation email marketing. Seo comes marketing compensation the usual stuff web optimization solution. Diligence sales may our sales automation like his aunt outreach. That's right and i think you'll see here soon. There's of the study. It's about probably seventy pages pretty pretty groovy study and there are fifty six charge. Ten of them are just the results of the questions. Eleven analyze the technologies used by region nine analyze based off the company size ten analyzed by industry and then ten really digging digging into what combinations are effective so again. The court rejected was to say what's happening in revenue related technology. And the kind of just hit that the key finding what we found was the revenue for sure. These technologies are being bundled together. You're using sales. Marketing technologies are no longer separate silos. Were seven and begin to intertwine and we call them couplings. There's lots of a revenue supporting technologies. That are both on the marketing side and sell

Air Force One: Flying Fortress

"I really enjoyed the documentary. I got the screener yesterday and watched it right away. This right up my alley to it reminded me of like bob doors Air force one coverage in books. I don't know if you've ever seen what he's done in the past book just he app. In fact i knew very well. He was good guy. Yeah enjoy that it was. It was tough getting access that we did and Particularly in a time that we guys and legal unfettered access so although we only minutes some of the stuff that we showed has never been shown liberal minded so the president airlift group. If you know you can't you can't get access to that. You know i i. I've seen that happen. It's very very difficult but to actually get access to the hangar. Where they're modifying dc twenty five bay I've been i've been In san antonio facility with vc twenty five a in the next hanger they wouldn't even acknowledge that was there you know So as i'm very impressed in is just part of the story is how you got that accent said. I don't know if there's much to say about that but I'm very very curious to save only but it wasn't gave as a majority of it was made. Just thankful that steve. I mean for testing network. Anyway having been in the military and went through the military initially an answers diplomatic channels which is in contact with the white house We met with a couple friends of president. Trump's white has Within emotions and actually unable to president trump and what he willing to tell us access to us and the white house military office and ministration We managed to gas boats which was amazing they use off the dot couldn't louisville couldn't be more accommodating. If i'm being honest. I'm were very tolerant. "All cover funkaway topics that can help you improve your life sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Today we are talking about the good life I don't know about you but I love the good life to me. The good life is traveling where I want staying in beautiful hotels. There is nothing I. Love than a luxurious hotel, the feel of those Italian sheets. Oh my gosh. You know we all have different definitions of what is the good life for some people it's having a big big old boat to go on cruising around the lake or the ocean in Maybe for others it's too expensive car maybe it's a closet full of fabulous clothing jewels. You know we all have a different definition about it, but here's one thing that I think we all agree on having that material success that comes with. Having. Success is part of the good life whether that you have a better class of wine or you can afford champagne more often maybe you have beautiful jewelry and clothing nice handbags expensive shoes that thing we all have different. Expectations of life but one of the things that we can pretty much all agree on is that there are certain things that we have that make life the good life maybe it's a nice home maybe it's a home with a view maybe it's a an exotic vacation and like I said maybe for you or if you're like me you like a lovely hotel, there's nothing that makes me feel more opulent or pampered than staying in a beautiful. Hotel last year Tim and I went to Italy. We went to Venice, and then we went to Paris and then to epernay. France and we stayed in some beautiful places that I just you know it's something that you just dream of having coffee and breakfast delivered to your room. That's another thing. That's the good life for me I love having Room Service Tim makes fun of me because he likes to go and get coffee to starbucks or go. To the restaurant after we get up in the morning whereas I liked to have? Oh Gosh breakfast in bed brought to me, oh. There's just nothing more special I love Saint Regis hotels because when you stay at them, they have a personal butler who comes to your room and brings you coffee in the morning. So that's just part of staying at those hotels We stayed in one Saint Regis Hotel in Kyoto on the had a little. Private box that you're Butler has access to, and you could get your shoeshine. You could leave things in there and he would take care of them or you wake up in the morning and there would be a tray with gleaming Silver Coffee Pot in China cups to drink out of at just makes me feel great That's what I love. There's another thing that I love in that flowers frequently I love to have fresh flowers in the house. I bet you have certain things that you love to have. It's a big walking closet or you know A. Designer brand clothes you know whatever it is maybe if it's a maybe you've got a large screen, TV that you've got your eye on. Here's what I want you to know funkaway can help you get the good life, and that's because there is a part of your home that corresponds with the good life, and that is the front in the front of your Hong Corresponds to an area known as the Phoenix footstool now I bet you haven't heard much about that but we always here in functionally all about turtles and tortoises in the back of the home and supported the rear and all that kind of stuff. Well, the Phoenix is all about fun. It is it is a an element that corresponds to fire fire is about joy and optimism just think about how how slick, so warm and inviting when candles or flickering, and there's a fire in the fireplace. Fire is the element of fun enjoyment pleasure, success material awards. This is. One of the areas that it's like this is what makes life living yes it is great to have a good income and a good job, but the material rewards that we enjoy our lives whether that's that's a boat, a nice car beautiful home This is what makes life worth living. This is what makes life enjoyable and pleasurable, and this is what the Phoenix is all about. Now, the Phoenix, as you may recall from your your Lore and history is that this is the bird that would burn down and then rise again from the ashes. So this episode is Yes actually timed it's ninety nine, which is the which is the number nine is the number of fire and. Kind of coordinate sometimes with my the numbers of the episode and the the topics just like today because this is like a double fire number ninety nine, this is my ninth episode. In the Phoenix what other bird is is representative of fire. Now, before I jump in really quick I want to tell you that the episode podcast episode five, minute sanctuary one hundred is coming up at a very special gift for you and you'll only hear about it. You'll only know about it if you listen in to five minute punctuates insure to stay tuned for podcast episode one, hundred because I have a gift for you as my thank you for listening but let's Get back to this Phoenix footstool because it is the funniest thing in functional, it is the thing that is all about enjoyment and pleasure. So let's talk about that. Now as I mentioned earlier, we talked about the the tortoise, but let's back up even further. Let's talk about the armchair position. Now, the armchair position refers to the way your home is sited on your lot. So now for you apartment dwellers, you know you'll just have to hang in there with this Because, you can still have your Phoenix footstool to we'll talk about that. But the armchair position generally relates to the way your home is sited on land. So you typically want to have the the back of the House has a little rise or slope upwards or level is perfectly fine but we don't want is to have a house that falls away at the rear because this is just It's one of those things where it's like sitting on a stool all day yet the stool gives you a place to sit but not very comfortable for very long and you're back mind hurt that's because. You have little support and so having that rise is a is a an environmental symbol of the tortoise. The Tortoise provides support and it provides longevity just like you can sit in a chair with the back on it much longer than you can milking stool. It's the that kind of concept. Now, you also WanNa have I as you. If you can imagine if your your house looking toward the street on the left, you WanNa have a little bit of a rise or tall house next to you if you can if that's that's always ideal and on the right, maybe a little bit lower. Or shorter house What we definitely don't WanNa have is is a small house in between two big houses that that creates a whole other set of problems and that's a whole podcast. So. But the armchair position is something that is fairly widely known about funkaway. It's the idea that if your. Spouse were in a chair it would be an armchair there would be a nice high back. There would be a place to rest your arms on either side, and then here's what we're talking about today, and there would be a footstool for your feet. So you kind of want to imagine your house as an armchair and that there is an you know I don't know about you. But I love chairs like club chairs or bear share chairs that have that footstool that comes with them or maybe like a a nice. Cushion of some kind that you can put your feet up on. When you're sitting in that chair, we wanted to have a little rise little mound in front of our house, and that represents like our house where we were city seated in our house. We had that rise behind us and our we could put our feet out in front. Now, we're going to talk a little bit more about how you can represent. That in your landscape but this is how we want to view this this idea of the Phoenix footstool because really when you think about success and like you have arrived, what are you doing? You're relaxing right you're sitting there in your footstool with your feet up, you're drinking your champagne or your coffee or tea or whatever it is. Your is your favorite libation and you're able to relax. That's because once you've arrived. In. In financial terms you've also arrived materially. So for instance, may be have beautiful jewelry or nice clothing or a car that you enjoy driving those material possessions are the things that that make us feel good. That gives us a little bit more posh feeling. Maybe make us feel a little bit more spoiled. And Hey, there is nothing wrong with that because if you work for it and you have put your effort in, then you should be able to be allowed to sit back and relax and portrayed up, and that means enjoy that big-screen TV or that wonderful vacation that amazing crews of the Greek islands or whatever it is that your heart's desire and that means material success to you. So we've talked about this armchair position right and so we talked about that and how important is to understand that the Phoenix footstool is represented.

"Your health is wonderful and money isn't concerned than you don't have a funkaway problem. Even if the bathroom is in your well sector, your relationship corner or at the front door, it really doesn't matter. Another problem is that people frequently think that they are stuck where they are. Now with a little ingenuity, you might find that a new home or condominium apartment is possible. We're GONNA. Talk about that because I want to talk about how you really D- to look at your life and and and determine what's making you. Happy. What's making you on? Happy where where things working for you where they not working for you and then you go where they're not working for you go look at those areas of your home that they correspond to. So for instance, if your health bad while you're GONNA go look at the health sector in the east what's in that portion of? Your home and have romance is really good. I would be looking at what's going in the southwest corner. What's happening there? These are great tools and ways to analyze your home and and the good way to be thinking of it rather than this home has good function or that how has good functional because the doors this way the bedroom is located here the kitchen is over there and so on. Looking at your life is the best indicator of whether you're functionally is working like you want to. But. Let's say, for instance, upon reflection life really isn't working for you. Things are difficult and they've been difficult for a long time if you're really not sure whether to move or not. Doing this sort of personal assessment of your life is a good way to take stock of whether these are things that you can possibly change about yourself or change about your life or if this is something that just seems that it doesn't seem surmountable to you. So let's start talking about what some of these some of these things could could be in the way they could be showing up in your life. So for instance. One is that life has been one long uphill battle if constant struggle and misery has been a bigger part of your life than than the happy and joyous parts since you've lived in that home, then that might be something to think about when you're generally unhappy and you have the inability to make key areas of your life, take root and grow. This is a good indicator that the house or apartment isn't supportive or beneficial for you. It could also mean that the environment that surround your home is affecting your home your life. Now, this is something to to consider too sometimes it's not the four walls that are impacting your life. It's what's outside those fourth wall falls because. Functionally starts on the outside and goes in. So the type of environmental way that you have makes a big impact on how the house is working for you. So for instance. I remember seeing house out in. California my husband and I were we flew out to to California to go look at homes out in thousand Oaks California. He had a job offer with a a large biotech company and This was cost two thousand eight and we were looking around at houses and one of the houses that we were taken to see was house it was literally perched on the edge of a cliff. The back of the house when you walked when you drove up to the house is a beautiful circular driveway, and then when you looked outside, it just draw you know twelve feet past the front. The rear of the house it just it dropped off like you know like an absolute cliff. Well, it was clear that this family was struggling for some time and the the just that sense of desperation that was coming off of he's homeowners was palpable truly in what? I think was going on there was there was no support at the rear of the House. There's just no support and that's that meant that it had this environmental support that was a problem and you could actually see i. you know I had a fear of even being in the house because I thought one good little earthquake grumble and that. House, we go. Just down the Canyon in I wondered how how Life was for them how it treated them. You know that that family that lived there. I think it had been sort of you rolling rock up Agrees Hill, and so when you look around and you're trying to assess your home or your apartment look around we have one of the members of my facebook group had had. A comment about her she'd been looking for house and she was putting up pictures of houses and there's a couple of functionally knows. Out there and I can't go through all of them here but a couple of them are you don't really WanNa be across from hospital church you don't have big power lines cutting across you. You don't want to be looking at a ditch. You don't have a big parking lot at the front of your house things like that. You also don't WanNa. Have you know sort of ugliness drizzly maybe you have for instance I we we looked at a house not I. Don't know a couple years ago and in Houston it was beautiful neighborhood it was so pretty. Big beautiful trees at pull totally renovated. And there was a big tall fence in the backyard I. Mean, it's beautiful house really wonderful. But right behind it was a big construction yard with all these big trucks and you could hear them Dr Ram. Route. All the rumbling of the trucks and it just you know we're not gonNA. We're never going to overcome that and we're always going to be hearing it feeling that rumble if we moved into the House and I'm certain that that family did notice that and so if you are looking at your home look around to see what's inside your doors do you have beautiful? Beautiful Surroundings Jeff, Nice curb appeal usually I can almost tell you. With some certainty that I almost ninety nine percent certainty that most houses the have beautiful curb appeal have beautiful funk's.

"Cover functionally topics that can help you improve your life sure inspiring stories, and always end with three easy to implement tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now, let's get started on the five minutes that could change your. Life. Hello there and welcome to this episode a five minute way see we're going to be talking about a topic the I don't really go over a whole whole lot because it just doesn't really happen that often, but it does happen and that is I. Think there are some times when People need to move the house just isn't support it for them and it's not one of those. Things that can be improved really. By moving things around because if if it were, I definitely would tell them You need to just move this here or change your bed that that way that kind of thing and It's really not something that I feel like a qualified functionally consultant recommends because getting up and moving house or changing your apartment isn't something that you do like a hand back. You know you just don't like swap your wallet out and off you go there's a whole lot involved. There's a lot of expense. It's a lot of time. It's a lot of energy and. So you know picking up and moving really it's just not something that just any old body wants to do just because. Well, you know I, don't like where the toilet is and the kitchen just not that. Great. So you don't WanNa. You know just pick up and move who does and this comes from somebody. I have moved more times than I wanna even tell you about and if I had to move I, think it would it would be the end of me right now. Especially during Cova but you know there are times when I do think it is a good idea and it is something that needs to be considered when they're certain criteria and we're GONNA be talking about those criteria today in this episode. But before we get started I just want to call out a particular listener who is a member my private facebook group the year of the rat facebook group I call them. The funkaway insiders and she is a just a dynamo, an amazing woman, a special education teacher in San Diego and just a darn nice human being a really really special woman. Her name is Susan Star Girl. That's how we're GONNA caller Susan star girl from San Diego and I just WanNa call her out because she listens to this podcast and she's also been a subscriber of mine since two thousand four now. If you don't know how long I've been publishing that has been that's my entire career. I actually started publishing the red slaughter back in two thousand and one, and so this is like the early the nascent days of when I began publishing and I just WanNa, say how special she is to me because of that I've seen her go through houses is living in in Plano Texas and then. Moving to to San Diego and and she's just a really wonderful person and I, it was really nice. Last year I went out to San Diego, and my husband had a little business to do and we decided to make kind of a long weekend of it and I invited her out to lunch and the two of us just sat and talked like we've known each other like fifteen years like we have. Anyway, it was great to be together with her. She's fabulous lady. So my hat's off to my wonderful wonderful Susan. Star girl. Thank you so much for listening and being part of my red-letter family I. SO appreciate you. Will let's start talking about when she move out because there are going be some times. When you you've just do need to move and like I said as an experienced functionally consultant I think you should have some a lot more tricks up your sleeve. You ought to have some knowledge and skills to help correct a problem So you don't want to move because your house is function perfect. Because here's the newsflash. None of them are there really are no functionally pervy Tallis's every. House has to have a bathroom somewhere. Every house has to have a kitchen or a toilet or you know a laundry room garages that kind of thing we have to have those kinds of things and we can't just have a pervert house and there's no way I want to have a house that doesn't have indoor plumbing. So I will have a toilet and I will work around it. No matter what corner it's in and here's what I can tell you. You will survive almost all houses. It is true but there are few stand out in my mind. I'm going to talk about that because I do think that you can gain from this experience and having worked with so many homeowners and seeing what their lives are like what they're experiencing it is It really gives me a wide array of understanding of various homes in and knowledge about them in there. But there are some circumstances were I do think moving is a wise idea. So. Let's just diamond in when. People, come to me a lot of times for consultation. They're they're actually fearful they. They are worried because they've heard from other consultants in fact, many times. I'm I'm the second consultant someone's talk to and and I have I I do a lot of Recovery, consultations like help pulling them back from the ledge as it were from someone who's scared the living daylights out of them and told them that their life is just going to completely unravel many times. They're afraid they've been told that they need to move out of their homes and they need to do major renovation. They're afraid I'm going to tell them that you have to move out of your house or move out of here or move this wall and that kind of thing and really. Like I said, a qualified functioning consultant really tell someone their home is hopeless with regard to funkaway hopeless for their live and in fact, good. Functionally, consultants will talk to you about your life in addition to your home. So if you have a fun Schwab Consultation Number One, make sure that somebody is asking you what is your experience living in this home? Because when a consultant does that, they're trying to understand how the house is affecting you and they will look at your life and your home at the same time because they're kind of like mirror images of each other and it gives a lot of insight to know, okay. This person's looming this kind of house and this is what's happening in their lives. Now, of course, you know a lot of people like I said earlier, worry about having a toilet in their career sector, but they're thriving professionally maybe your life is I think you're really best indicator of your functional it's not necessarily your bathrooms are located so rather. Than focusing on a functional problem area of your home. Taking stock of your life is actually.

"Think about the collars that are going to change the year if it'll bloom and seem to about adding fruit trees anything that bears so that could be nuts. That could be fruits. That could be apples or citrus. Or whatever plant grows well in your in your area. We have a home in south Texas. On the Gulf coast in it we've got citrus trees everywhere lemons grapefruits and pink naval oranges. That are just divine. They taste like a if a if somebody were to put a An Angel into a an orange. That's it would taste like it's the sweetest thing so find something that bears fruit in son. Whether like I said it's a it's a A nut or a fruit of some kind. It's even flowering trees that that bears. Its when you have a home that is surrounded by trees that are giving you something like beautiful flowers or nuts or fruits it becomes more your home becomes more abundant and that's always always a good thing all right well. I hope this is inspired you to get out into the garden and to do some landscaping and just drive through some neighborhoods. Drive through your neighborhood and look around and see if you can spot the houses with the Garden Dragon. I think you're GonNa love doing that as a little experiment. And if you feel like sharing that with me please do all right well. Let's end up with our latte with our three tips as always here at the last of of five minute funkaway..

"Beneficial energies in your Zodiac sign or your bedroom or your home direction wearing real gold or silver can help you and give you an energetic boost now. Let's talk about the symbols that you can wear. You don't always have to wear things that are related to function Just having like ever saying a simple gold hoop is that round. Shape is the shape of Heaven Long long type rectangular shapes or shapes of growth. You WanNa look at shapes and make sure the only thing that you really want to avoid is anything that is very pointy or at. That has any kind of point so like for instance. I had seen one woman who was wearing a starburst type of necklace and it was a diamond this center and then it had the the raise that rate at that's sprayed out but they all kind of point up at her her neck so it's really not wasn't an auspicious sign. Personally I so think of of those types of things when you're looking for jewelry that's going to be. Enhancing is not going to be hurting you so think about anything from the infinity. Look like the eight Is An sometimes called the infinity? Sign the mystic. Not a dragon. Peacock Chinese coins or eggs I know I have some of those Russian eggs Jewelry pieces that's very auspicious. But they don't say Chinese The but the egg is a very auspicious shape. So look for shapes. That are appealing to you and that And our Attractive as well because if they're attractive they usually have great punctuate. You always want to use symbols and where symbols. That are appealing to you personally. So like for instance. When I was designing jewelry for home shopping network I wanted to create jewelry that used funkaway symbols and fresh and fashionable way. So one of the most popular pieces that I created was a necklace. A feature all four celestial creatures of the Tortoise Tiger The dragon and the Phoenix and they were all in one big collar necklace and it was a huge necklace extremely colorful and It was and it was big in the thing that was amazing as it has all four of the Cardinal Directions North East south and West are represented on that so that brings the goodness of all those directions to anyone who wears it. Sold out right there on When I was doing the The presentation there on home shopping network that morning and that was very exciting to see it. 'cause it was like one of my very first pieces. I differ them. So you want to look for items that speak to elements of functionally. So maybe that's metal or water or would or fire and An earth those are the three elements. And you're going to want to look for those elements that create beneficial for you Beneficial energy for you and one of the ways you can do that is by wearing gemstones that are suited for you by your birth element now birth elements the annual elements that take place.

"Make sure you put your dress up put on. I'm wearing earrings today. As a matter of fact white White ABALONE SHELL. Eary's think they're really pretty. They have a sort of a around per lesson. I feel like I need some heaven luck and so here. I am wearing my jewelry. I wear a watch. Where rings I wear. I wear earrings every single day. So really good for You know boosting our energy and bringing positively to us now. Let's talk about necklaces? Because these are power packed I love necklaces and I love big necklaces and as a writer and speaker. It's something that I really pay close attention to in. It's so important because it is accentuating your your throat your face and your head and this is the part of you that receives recognition recognition is so important in function. Why it's the roundabout way of money. So you can wear things do things for money and that's fine but it's really important that you looked to get recognize and wearing a necklace is a great way to do that because when you are recognized that means that someone will think of you. They'll point you out. They'll say oh you know. Carol is the perfect person for this job They will say I know I wanNA talk to Carol about such and such and they'll think of you that recognition aspect is really important so we're beautiful necklaces especially when you have something important to say. You're giving a talk anything that you're are you feel like you need to kind of Raise your your notice at work. You want to get more attention. A beautiful necklace. Necklace is a gorgeous frame is like a gorgeous frame around a painting it calls attention to. What's inside the frame while complementing the the painting at the same time? So when you find that you're lacking in recognition and notice at work where a beautiful necklace to draw positive attention eh recognition One of the things that that Kinda jumps off the page for me right now is The Deborah burks. Who's on the Corona Task Force here in the United States? And she's often speaking about the virus and she's an Works with Viruses all over the world and As a specialist in this and one of the things that you cannot not miss her because she when she's on stage at the White House and and in the press room or on Press. She wears a different scarf every single day. And that scarf like a beautiful necklace calls attention to her. It says listen to what I'm saying. Pay attention to me because I'm important and I have valuable information to impart so think about that when you're wearing a necklace and you want to make an impression you want someone to notice you. It will call that attention and recognition to you and help. Kinda raise your profile as well especially important for anybody at work right now with jobs being tentative and worrisome it can be very valuable to have a beautiful piece of jewelry or necklace or scarf around your neck to bring attention to what you're saying and your authority knows talk about another aspect of functions. I am that are functional. Jewelry is that it's protective so just like we can use functional to protect our homes..

"Of the Red Lotus letter. Funkaway easy for wealth each week all cover functional topics that can help you improve your life. Sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes now. Let's get started on the five minutes that could change your life. Hello and welcome to this episode of five minute funkaway. Today we're talking about clocks and their effect on us you know. There's been a lot of talk in the functionality world about whether clocks represent good functionally or not and like most things in life. The definitive answer isn't a yes or no instead. The answer is it depends. It's the exception to the rule to find an instance where a funkaway answer is black and white. It really is There is no clear answer. Except there are some clear. Do's and don'ts and we're gonNA talk about those a little bit later on right now our at home with corona virus and Cova nineteen all around the world. Everybody's kind of in sympathy with one another. It's kind of Nice. You know that were having a a worldly experienced that all our humanity can have some understanding for one another in what we're going through in one of the things about this whole cove in corona virus. Thing is that we are much more aware about time than ever. I mean think about it. We're we're we're told it's going to last this long exit GonNa peak here. It's going to do this then. And there's really no clear time line and so a lot of us are quarantined or rather stay at home orders or these are times where we are very time focused in very aware of the tick tick tick of time so we thought you know if you're at home. I know that I've heard this. My parents tell me they're in their eighties. They really feel confined because they're older in. So many people are feeling so confined right now in a very time aware looking at the clock hearing the tick tick tick that like I was saying in so I thought well what better time to talk about clocks then then now so here we go. Let's talk about The funkaway of clocks and what they mean and And some Doosan dotes for that. So as far as as clocks go many times. It's whether they're good functioning or not really relates to where they're placed now when they're place right and used properly clocks really aren't a big concern in functions way but when they're not that's when trouble begins in general though clocks really aren't considered to be auspicious in functionally because it is representative of the passage of time and when clocks oversized it represents an oversized presence of time in the passing of time and it implies death that's why these oversized clocks that are so popular on design blogs and decorating stores. They actually symbolize death and being under the gun of time. My Mom Brooker hip about a year ago and sadly I know that the rehabilitation nursing home that she was in was very beautiful. Place very nicely decorated. But it just made my skin crawl obt to tell you the truth that just I all. It was a carefully decorated. It was it was clean and all that but The people who own the the nursing home were avid hunters. So as soon as you walked in the front door. There's all these magnificent animals. I'M NOT GONNA call him trophies but there are these magnificent magnificent animals all stuff though the soon as you walk in. There's this symbols of death and I so that bothered me. You walk down the hallway and you see their dining area and they have an enormous Clark so these people can't even be impeach piece as they're eating their meal and without having to stare or eat under the gaze of this enormous clock that I'm sure someone thought was really great decorating and it's just not it was seem just cruel to me when I when I saw it now. A lot of clocks are are actually. I'm going to say they're energetic beings. They're not a being a per se but they haven't energy about them and what's interesting is. There is a lot of connection to clocks. I'll give you a story of that about it. Many clocks are known to stop when someone dies and that happened in my life. My grandmother fought with her sister. My aunt who is named for over a family heirloom clock that was given to their parents and her sister my aunt retain the clock even though their mother had given it to my grandmother and so it painfully reminded my grandmother of the loss of her parents. Every time she'd visit my aunt's home. Were this clock was prominently placed. However when my grandmother died my aunt obviously was still alive but with my grandmother died. The clock stopped at the exact time of death and it never worked again. It's really interesting. How people relate to clocks and relate to two time pieces I know. Many people have written to me about clock. Stoppages when someone's died or there's been upset I know people who only can Wear mechanical watches. That electric watches don't work for them. And so they have to use mechanical ones like the Rolex that is self winding or the type that you actually have to wind. It's fascinating to me. I find absolutely fascinating. Now when we think about funkaway it really requires balance in everything so when a clock is over sized that means there's an oversized emphasis on time. So hey o'clock like these. These big decorator clocks that you see. It made me feel more pressured to do more in the day. Feel like you can't manage your life feel like time is running away from you can even make you feel physically ill just from this pressure all the time you may find that your you have A feeling of pressure all the time and on the other hand there are times when a clock actually can do some good and handle some functions as most severe energies so for instance there are two type of illness energies that we talk about in functionally in once called the five yellow and the other is called the black too and these are a strong energies and when they're together or when you're worried about their influences a chiming or pendulum clock is one of the best ways to wear down their energy that illness energy that they project with that smooth swinging back and forth of a pendulum or clear. Chime ringing out I love pendulum clocks. They are actually some of the best ways to bring movement to a house. That's two still so that makes them a really great activator. So if you've got an old grandfather clock with the pendulum or you've got a ticking clock with the pendulum. These are great for areas. That have illness energy Like the East Corner this year in twenty twenty does it's also good for activating positive energy. Like in the north the northeast corner has a terrific energy for money and income potential for making money through classes and having a a clock chiming there can activate that that energy there. So there's some really nice ways that clocks can be beneficial in function by now. If you WANNA know more about the energies of the year be sure to check out my year of the rat article on my website. You can go there by going to Red Lotus letter dot com forward slash rat and get more details as I'm going to mention some energies In these do's and don'ts that it you might WanNa look a month and see where they are and where they fall on your home because you might want to activate or hold them down so let's talk about some clock. Dues things that you should do clocks do use a pendulum or a chiming clock to activate the six star of networking and benefactors. This can bring windfalls nice financial surprises people out of the blue. That will tell you about an opportunity. Just this is what I would call. Sort of the falling star. Wish upon a falling star just falls into your lap some good news and having a chiming clock or pendulum clock. Wherever that's located that six star in in in this year in twenty twenty it's located in the southeast corner of your home. That's the wool sector. Do use a pendulum chiming clock to activate the one star of opportunity and income this year. That star is in the North East when you have problems with illness. Financial difficulties serious serious problems. Even cancer. Things like this We want to handle those energies and M. Wear them down this year. The these are called the earth stars too in five five yellow to black. I mentioned earlier this year. The five star which is the really serious one is in the east and having a pendulum clock. There will help. Drain that energy. This the East is the star. The oldest son. It's also the star of the family. So we're going to see family disruptions. You're as we have seen This year people are losing loved ones to Cova Job Difficulties or creating crises in families. You know so we really WANNA handle that five star in the East so in the east corner of your home. This is a great place to have a pendulum or chiming clock. And it's also good in the south corner of your home where the two stars that can create problems with everything from relationships to nagging illnesses and nobody needs any illness this year. We've already got one big one on our radar and that is definitely enough. Another do is to make sure that you may that. Your clock is not over size. And that you don't get one of those big giant decorator clocks. I call them because when they will dominate your room. Very important to keep those imbalance. Remember what I was talking about earlier about. We don't WanNa feel overly pressured about time. We're already time conscious enough as it is right Do Hang clocks in hallways in living rooms or in the kitchen Keep them on the smaller side. Don't hang them up too high. Because then that means that they've got a dominance over you. You WanNa have them where they're at a reasonable height not really way high up that that could really put the pressure of time on you. Do make sure that clocks next to the bed or small and not overly bright if their electric you know. Sometimes I've stayed as a guest at a hotel or friends houses in those darn lights are so bright. And you don't sleep. That means that clock is influencing your sleep. Even you can't get rest with that clock so you want to You know look at that clock that you have next to the bed and see if it's too bright and work on that. Do make sure the clocks in the bedroom. Wake you to a pleasant sound that you enjoy chimes or birds or something like that you don't WanNa have a buzzer. That just wakes you up with start that that awful grading and now if you like that and that didn't bother you but you know what I think. It's a lot more pleasant if you could have a clock that wakes you up in a pleasant way to birds chirping or something like that and he has a lot more pleasant now. Let's talk about some clock. Don'ts don't hang a clock too close to the front door where can be viewed at the front door again. This puts pressure on time in. It's also money because the front door represents money and income and opportunity coming to you and that means that you're gonNA always be pressed for money and we don't want that so make sure that you can't see a clock from the front door. Don't hang o'clock in the dining room because this implies death and rushing to eat nobody needs to be rushing as they're enjoying a holiday dinner or maybe hopefully Cova celebration dinner. Maybe you get together with your whole family and just have a big meal together to celebrate once. It's all over but you don't WanNa clock in the in the dining room so take that out of there again. Don't hang those oversize.

"Host. Katie Weber publisher of the Red Lotus letter function easy for wealth each week all cover funkaway topics that can help you improve your life. Sure inspiring stories and always end with three easy to implement funkaway tips that you can put to work right away and usually in about five minutes. Now let's get started on the five minutes that could your life. Hello funkaway listener. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your listening in today in every week. if you've been listening for a while It's been A lot of fun to do these podcasts and to share some time with you and get your feedback. I love hearing from you. And if you are listening to five minute functionally note. I love love love to hear from. You really makes my day when I hear from somebody that you know. The layer learned something in a podcast or they heard something they hadn't heard before really makes my day so shoot me note. I'll be sure to answer back because it means a lot to me that you're listening. It means a lot to me that you take time to write so Give me a shout love to hear from you. Let's talk today about the color. Purple is a color of wealth and wealth in a variety of forms. Let's talk about how important this is in terms of functionality. Now we all know. Purple is a potent color. I mean in every society. Purple has held a special place and special meaning. It was said that Leonardo Da Vinci believed that meditating in a lavender or purple colored light was improved by factor of ten and purple has long been associated with wealth nobility stature religion piety even magic and sexuality there is a saying that which is door is often colored purple and And I don't know that I believe that but I do think that purple does convey a lot of messages to the to the to the I you know. Purple is a mixture. It's a mixture of that soothing. Calm blue with a boisterous energetic. Read that makes it. The most balanced color purple is associated and long been associated with royalty it symbolizes that power and nobility but also luxury and ambition. It Conveys Wealth and extravagance purple is also associated with wisdom in dignity independence creativity mystery and magic and in fact some seventy five percent of small children. Choose purple over every other color in that amazing A Fun fact about purple is that Cleopatra. It was her favorite color and has continued to be a color that's been associated with royalty or high honor like the Purple Heart awarded to American soldiers who were wounded or killed in war so obviously purple is very special color. It's also true in functions way In function there's one color that is suitable for any corner of your house in that color is purple. Purple is the color associated with any of the directions as a beneficial color. You can even say. It's the FUNKAWAY BEIGE. That's actually that's something. I coined. I've called purple a functionary base for a long time. But you know purple isn't always the easiest colored live with so if you have strong feelings about purple. It's it's probably better not to use it but if you think you're space will look strange with purple. Just maybe avoid purple but there's a lot of range when it comes to purple purple is Can Go from the PALEST lightest lavender. All the way to the deepest darkest inky hist Auber gene of a deep eggplant right This is a color that has a lot of life in it. So there's a lot of ways that you can use. It doesn't all have to be that that purple dinosaur that we all know when we think of Purple Purple doesn't have to be that grape jelly or the great bubblegum. You know purple really is a great wealth color. It is a color that goes so well with wealth and success. Both you think that they're different but there are you think that they're the same right wealth and success but they're actually very different well is actual accumulation of money and assets. Were a success is the ability to use those assets. Have you ever thought of it that way? Success is could be defined as when you can take whatever you want by whatever car you lie can afford the expensive clothes or the Nice hotels that kind of thing. That's success wealth is different than success. Isn't that interesting to think about that? That success is the manifestation of wealth whereas wealth is the accumulation of assets. I love to look at those fine points in functionally. I never had thought of them That way and always kind of lump them all into the same bucket. Sorta like money. Money was all in the same bucket. But there's different types of money to and Like for instance. There's income right salary the money you get in your check career From your salary from your job but there's also wealth that could be something maybe an inheritance it could be Your 401k your investments real estate holding stocks bonds all those kinds of things those are assets right that so there's a completely different types of money but it's still it's still a form of of wealth To have a job to have an income and to have assets but they're distinct ones. Think it's really important to understand those just like having wealth and having success also very different so when it comes to generating wealth chee so whether that's income or wealth assets or success. The obviously the you know the NICE CLOTHES FANCY CARS. That kind of thing forever. You want to have that extra energy no matter where that is purplish color but it is a stimulating color so it's not always a great idea to have purple in a bathroom or kitchen or even a bedroom you could use some Pale. Shades are little bits of purple but not too strong because remember. It is a combination of blue and red red is very stimulating. I think there's a saying it's a Chinese say Mayor Mayor Happiness Purple. You know something like that. And it means it's a blending a harmony of two distinct Two distinct elements fire and water. That's success and income. See see how that works. I love that I think that's such a great Distinction to know so. Let's talk about the wealth that purple can bring you. There is the wealth of recognition. Purple is an excellent color to add in the south sector of your home or living room office. This is the fame sector. This is the success and social Renown and sector. This is recognition sector in particular. It's really good if you're in a sort of a power position like if you're the principal or an owner of a business. Purple is definitely a power color so attitude a south wall for added. Prestige or to further your ambitions for fame Purple will help you get recognized. Just think about that Movie Stars they're hounded for their autographs because they have achieved a level of success that gives them recognition. Recognition is a great type of or a type of of success. Now purple also can help you.

"Sidewalk. They just go just from the curb but then they stop or there's absolutely no sidewalk or there's no path that goes to the front door and when there's no water way that home is starved or dying of thirst that pathways your waterway of income. So many times will find people that you see houses older houses that are like that and you see them just deteriorate if the house is really old this might have been fine years ago when the house was built but each year as the House ages. Anyone who lives in the house will see their finances diminish as well as health problems growing. Now how do you correct that? You've got to add a new front sidewalk and the more permanent. The sidewalk is like a poured concrete. The better it is type of walkway because it will help bring more water chee to the front door more quickly and that will mean that. Your House won't be starving anymore for energy that water flow. Remember we've got to create that now you can do some. I've seen a lot of houses recently. That are they're doing these Pathways where they have Like crushed stone or crushed granite and they have big Flagstone pavers and I will tell you that while that might look Nice architecturally it's not good functions way and the reason. Why is you want a a solid unbroken smooth path from the street or your driveway to your front door? This creates the smooth and flowing energy. So if you would imagine. The difference between a smooth will conduct water more than a broken sidewalk made of discrete. An independent pavers right. So if you're Put Water on this payers. They would just go off the sides and into the gravel or something like that so while those look really pretty in the very contemporary looking and all that good stuff. It's not good if you WANNA have more money and you want to add more income opportunities. Now let's talk about the afflicted House. Pathway now this house may have a walkway that is too small. It might be old. It can be cracked or crumbling or lifted from tree roots or something like that and that means that the quality of the Energy. That's going to the house and the opportunity and money is deteriorating to whenever a sidewalk is cracked or crumbling or broken or shifts it disrupts its ability to deliver water energy or CI to the front door cutting off income and opportunity and making the quality of opportunity and income decline over steadily over time. So we WANNA make sure that the walkway to our front door is in good condition. And that it delivers chee to our door smoothly and auspiciously. I think anyone listening to this would agree with me that when you walk up to a home and you walk on a really nice pathway to the front door there is a special feeling about that and when you see a home and you drive through neighborhood and you see homes with you know pretty winding pathways and pretty sidewalks plantings and flowers. It just is appealing and that brings that that beauty that it has beauty brings money. So when you have a beautiful home or a beautiful Sidewalk and beautiful curb. Appeal to your home even if you have a simple house if you have beautiful curb appeal and it's neat and tidy and And it's flowing and it's it looks pretty It's amazing what that can do for your life and for your home all right. Well we are here at the end of this episode as always here on my three tips always trying to make your walkways auspicious looking and attractive with plants and other landscaping elements tip number to do what you can to create smooth winding and curbing solid pathways. These delivered the most beneficial and they deliver chee the most regularly. Those broken has are not a good idea Another great tip number three is to add lighting two pathways. This encourages more Yang Energy to enter your home. It's more specials. Lighting is always auspicious. So if you want to add more Admiral Energy to your home especially if you have one of those houses where you have a sidewalk with a goes around to the side of the House and you have a side entry to your home. This is really key that you do plantings go along that sidewalk and that you add lighting that says hey ci come this way to the front door and that means hey money come this way. All right there you go. There are My suggestions for your your pathway to wealth Make sure that your your front door is a conduit for accepting money income and opportunity as well as great energy in Your Life. Have a terrific week. Thank you so much for being on five minute. Functionally and listening. I was great talking to you. Thanks for listening to five minute punctuate. "Now if you are concerned that certain corners aren't good for you is based on your your personal quad number or something like that. Don't we all need those particular? We energies of every corner. And I'm going to talk about that in next week's episode of five minute functionally now as always one of the things. I like to do as low as we're GONNA at a mentioned earlier. We want that spark of life so really really important that That you add some red paper to the back of your of your board. I often One of the things I did is I laminate. I'll I'll take a piece of card stock and all put red paper on the back and then laminated so it's all it's red This is a great way to activate it. Now you can also add a piece of red ribbon to it if you if you'd like to do that or you could tie or taper glues Chinese three tight coins are also really auspicious and great to add to your vision board. And don't forget you've got to be able to see where you want to go so you've got to put that vision board where you will see it often. It's really important. I like to put things that I like to envision straight in front of me at my desk I also put it at at my My dressing counter in in my bathroom so I see it every day as I'm getting dressed You could put it in your closet. You can put it wherever you're going to see it a lot. It's really important that you see that That vision prominently now. Don't forget you can add visions. Excuse me can add images. You can also add words. I like doing both. I think they're both very powerful in their own way so You know rather than just having images or just words I'd say do a collection or do a assembly of both all right now if this Has hasn't gotten you excited about doing a vision board. I don't know I sure am. I haven't started one for this year but It's got me kind of fired up to get one going now. If you want to know more about the year be sure to check out my my year of the rat article it just to read loads letter dot com forward slash rat and you can get more information about the year of the rat and Let's finish up with the three tips that I always leave you with tip number one always match your images with words. I really liked that. A Lot Make sure that you have a an image and that there is a corresponding Word for that because they like I said earlier. They work on different levels in our minds. And it's amazing. How having the two together can make such a difference. Now place this tip number two is place your vision board where you see it frequently the more you see it the more those images go into your brain and influence you and you start doing things and start attracting things and things just seem to fall into place. It's it's amazing how it happens number three is to activate your vision board with red. Make sure this got plenty of color but also that has some great red color in it I gave a tip earlier that I like to. Put My vision board and backed with a piece of paper and then you can also laminated as well. All right that's all for this week's episode and I look forward to talking to you next week on episode.

"A symbol for it. Maybe that symbols a word or figuring like a lucky cat or maybe something you have already one important symbol for happiness in. Funtua is the is the happy Buddha a fat happy Buddha often carries a bag in one hand over his shoulder he sits on a bag and he's kind of the Chinese Santa Claus and he is supposed to have been carried. He carries us back. And he'll carry your worries in your burdens for you and often would pull out things. I mean he actually was This Buddha was a man who actually lived in China Several thousand years ago and he would go and and he carried nice things for little children and we give them present seen so he really was a real person and So so for some people that The happy Buddha Makes them happy. I think it's so important that you you look at something that puts that puts you in a happy mood so always keep out for me. I I liked the I like the happy Buddhist so much that I keep one on my desk always to cheer me with his little chipper countenance. He's happy and just delighted and and he's often shown delighted and happy with money and people. When you talk about money they get real serious and what I find that I love about the happy.
