NFL WEEK 3: Our official predictions for who wins this weekend
"So. I gave talk about. Obviously a game that still sits our my mind from last week. The Atlanta Falcons go our land Alcan's play. The Chicago bears this week. Chicago was to know the Falcons are all into one o'clock on Fox. Obviously, the Falcons. About that the shambles, the the. Disgusting performance that we saw last week losing a game that they should've never lost Dallas cowboys now going to Chicago bears team defensively is still one of the better teams in the NFL. Immature bisky while not playing. Ultra, great. Still playing well enough for them to win. If, you look at this game, you would think the Falcons will win because one of the Falcons do have going for them as they do have one of the better offenses in felt even to the two weeks you've seen that. And they're going to a bears team that. Can Be, offered to challenge America can be limited. So the Falcons you put up points. The game should be over now the falcons defense does have some questions, but I do think they would put voices should be enough to create distance in the bears it'd be able to pick up the whip. Obviously the bears are companies just gave a lot of confidence. As they should. To An older, start the season I mean. I saw some Falcon fans tweet about it. They don't necessarily want the T. Blues remember they're only to the of this dot over by any stretch. But people really what? Dad Queen Gone. And so. It's Cadillac Party. Wants. To lose. The ship but the Chicago bears going to three eight. Oh probably be one of the young shockers of this early season. I'm going to very hastily picked the Falcons to win this game. I think they they are the better team. Now whether they actually leads to the results on Sunday we'll see but I'm going to go the Falcons to win this game as they are the better team to me. I, Think Matt Ryan will continue his great start to the season. I think are often will continue to click. There are questions of Julio. Jones will play this Sunday I. Think he will. He usually plays to injuries when his Julio not move something now he did. Have a setback in practice but. You know I think. He should be able to go. and honestly, if he didn't would be great for my fantasy team either but I got kindergarten if I need to step up or racial gauge. So yeah. But yeah with the Falcons. Next game forty niners, giants, I've this Games interesting. Remember last week. The point is playing metlife stadium loss Garoppolo MOATS are. Bosa, Thomas they lost a lot of guys last week. And the. Giants team who? Looks like they'll probably be at the bottom of the barrel the NFC east. Especially after losing saquon Barkley. For? The. season. When I players were scared to play at metlife stadium because they felt like the the stadium turf in and everything was the reason for a lot of those injuries that they had last week when they played the jets. Now. I it's. It's interesting to see what it's GONNA be 'cause they're playing a backup quarterback backup running backs they got sued offensive Lineman. I still don't have Richard Sherman. You have a lot of injuries. and. So this may be a winnable game for the giants I mean, you don't really know what to expect from the forty niners this week. So it'd be you say here they of Jimmy, Garoppolo at least played to me I. Think you would be like, okay for eight hours I think we'd still be able to win, but we don't know how good the Ford back for Norwich backup QB may play. I mean, luckily, the void ours have a lot of defensive talent still. So it's not like older pleaded they have nobody but. It. Isn't as comfortable as A. But I would still in my right mind, go with the four years to win the game.

"With the Cowboys that they had. I mean, a really 100% disaster. Um, but both, but but the Falcon scored. I believe over 30 points against the cowboy. They have a really, really good office they have for two years. Now, with Matt Ryan Julio Jones. It's been a potent offense now on the injury front. Bears are looking really good. Khalil Mack is listed as questionable, but he's been on the Inter report all season, and he's played in each game, and he's been effective for the for the Falcons. Have seven players listed as either out or questionable, including their star receiver may be the best in all of football. Julio Jones. Yeah, he's gonna root for injuries, but they might catch a break, not having his slap Julio Jones dealing with a hamstring so Well, thanks, man. I got a great working with you and hope to do it again sometime. Awesome. Thanks so much, John. From you betcha. 6 27 here. 7 20 w g. Falcons owner weighs in on onside kick blunder
"Speaking of blowing an assignment falcons on our arthur blank serious NFL radio was quoted as saying with the onside kick that the cowboys got. He said quote it's clear meaning his players didn't know what to do. Didn't know the rules. Yeah is not good. I do believe Dan Quinn. Said quite the opposite but that's the owner making that. Well, you know they know the rules they know they can jump on the ball. The question is if they jump on the ball, they better make sure that they secure the ball. That's the thing I. I could see number forty, one I can't you know I'm looking at the replay right now he's standing right there. He could jump on the ball and it looks like he's waiting for it to go ten yards wondering whether or not. It's actually going to go ten yards but you would think as the cowboy player is getting closer and closer to the ball. The ball is not hopping. Fall on it I don't know that would if I was a falcons fan, I would have thrown something through the but I think the Falcon player is afraid of touching the ball before ten yards and not securing it at the ball doesn't go ten yards and they don't have to worry about it has to go ten yards that to me. That's what it looks like. North blankets saved my team didn't have what the do. They're. Yeah. Well, obviously, they didn't know what to do because they didn't do it but I, think the day thought that the ball was not going to go ten yards. That's what I think.

Cowboys employed the “Watermelon kick” to pull off comeback
"Cowboys last night, pick it up lay dowse needed to recover that onside kick and they did this is a team that was trailing by twenty in the first quarter. Somehow some way climbs back in and got the own onside kick and marched down the field and kicked a forty six yarder to win this game somehow cowboys pulling off the improbable here is the winning quarterback Prescott after the win. Yeah, this is huge because McCarthy said at halftime. We need to be here. We need to be right where we are and he said the final score didn't matter as much as a finding out the type of men that we have the type of fight that we have within this team but as I said to show the resiliency to go out there and continue to fight. Continued, continue add it and just be able to come out with the win. It does so much obviously way better than star knowing too. But going one one and I'm having a lot of confidence after after we put ourselves in such a big hole in the first quarter. Just, just stay at and everybody believes each other that was huge and so in. So many ways.
Fresh update on "falcons" discussed on Waddle & Silvy
"Show me I'm still in Missouri. I'm in the show Me state. I've got the Bears losing this game in a squeaker. I've got Atlanta within 24 23. Yeah, and I'm not a hater. But again. This was before I knew about the injuries Sunday night. I jumped on the Falcons minus three. So I have them winning. And like Julio Jones is obviously a huge key. But the bear I'm improving mode still, with the one thing about Atlanta now they've got the Packers next week. And Quinn's fighting for his life, and I don't know how much you put this stock in a team that is feeling in week three. Their season may slip through their fingers in their coach, get fired. Well, he was on the hot seat last year, too, and saved his job when he took over. Call Playcalling duty. Yes. Oh, Dirk Cutter, I think is now calling plays for them right? So he took over play calling. Duties on defense, You know? Yeah, so I think Listen, I'm not going to be surprised in the slightest if the Bears that's why I love my like it was the bear's getting 3.5. But this is a game. It's a tough spot for them, You know? I mean, you're going to go on the road. You're gonna have to score even if Julio Jones isn't there. So I like I like Atlanta. Just by a point, right? I like the Falcons two but show us 3123323776. If you want to talk bears, falcons, cubs and socks on the table two. Is this the least enthused. You've been about a cub sack, Siri's and I want to play this for you. Waddle. If I don't know if you heard the Billy Donovan today, what happened, Honey? I have not. And this is everything we've ever asked for from the bull's organization, and it made me tingle. That's next. "falcons" Discussed on First Take
"Sleeps Mega Ghassem. We are back I take is in the building and it feels good. My Guy Stephen a Max here we got former cowboy keyshawn Johnson. We'll be talking about that team in just a minute guys good to see you six months six months six feet. Oh, I forgot did y'all see him tweeting up a storm yesterday real cocky. Day In then those tweets coming fast and Seattle, and then he got quiet I don't know what happened. You WanNa. Start good to see you. Let's get it. How about the cowboys even a Dallas with the last minute comeback another collapse also by Atlanta no Bueno the cowboys race to twenty point deficit. Put Up Sixteen in the final five minutes to beat the Falcons forty, thirty nine. DALLAS, how we feel talked me. We showed our resiliency today. I. WanNa thank just those twenty, one, thousand plus fans that showed up today. As you said I don't know if I've been in many games like this only thing I can think of is the playoff game rookie year, but to be able to get the win. And filling those those fans that were there that stayed the whole game that didn't give up on us. Those are huge difference I think the team fed off of that. I know they did Laden late in that two minute drive after it onside kick. It will simply just incredible. You look at any great season that you're able to put together. You have you have big moments that you're able to build off of this is a. This is a big moment to build off of. Up Max was that southern Steve at the press conference, Ono. He was crying and his basement that wasn't stephen a that was back. With. The cowboy hat Mr Smith, are you ready to give the cowboys some credit with that valiant effort coming back and take down those Falcons Hell? No. No they've been a little bit. That's not how I feel about it I. Don't know what game everybody else was watching I sorta Atlanta. Falcons up twenty to nothing I. saw them up twenty, nine ten. I saw fifteen point lead thirty, nine, twenty, four with under five minutes left I even saw them blowing that and still was in a position to win all. They had to do was fall on the floor I'd like to sit up there and say something that I've never said about an NFL team before I mean Atlanta Falcons might be the dumbest e that I've witnessed in the modern era. I WANNA get. Let me get this straight last time. I. Checked because Kishan. You here you the football Aficionado I do believe that you're allowed to fall on the ball prior to go and ten yards. If I remember correctly I do believe that just so we have not one. Not. Two, not three, not four five. I ain't trying to Lebron James. He I'm talking about literally what transpired five different Atlanta Falcons around the football and then you see a couple like number eighty one there was actually backing up and away from the football. Tell me what kind of sense that makes whatsoever that might be the dumbest thing that I have transpired on a football team in the modern era already I burn Atlanta Falcons Jeremy that they sent us I just do mind and the garbage. Okay. I wasn't Atlanta fan anyway but if ever there was a time where I'd never root for them again, it would be now. Dan. Quinn gotta go listen been the same since they blew the twenty five point lead in the Super Bowl you get rid of assistant coaches got rid of three last November got rid of an additional to this past January this way somebody's fault. But in the end you have a situation I know Julio Jones dropped the touchdown pass I get all of that. I know could have run the football effectively I get that but I'm repeating two, thousand, nine, hundred, ten and a half two, hundred, four Dallas turnovers. Three fumbles, four tournaments in the first quarter twenty deficit or twenty, nine of ten at halftime, thirty, nine, twenty, four minutes and fifty seven seconds left, and then after that you still all you have to do is fall on a ball and five five different Atlanta Falcons you said six. I thought it was SPA. Even six. Six different Atlanta. Falcons. Not all on the ball jeff stupid they they got to be the dumbest team and just I'm just so disgusted what transpired but it is what it is. The Dallas Cowboys one, I got it but Atlanta is trifling not. Just. The Falcons I'm talking about the Falcons object data coined got no it's crazy. This wasn't even a must win game for the cowboys you might win six games and win the NFC. Division. Is Terrible and I want to give the cowboys credit where it's due Dak didn't quit when you have a leader that remember the reason he lost a playoff game you referred to Aaron Rodgers was only because he was playing Aaron Rodgers. And mahomes would have been in the league at that only two guys who could have done the things that Aaron Rodgers against deck or you the one that playoff game give the cowboys credit for that. But if the question is that the cowboys win it or did the Falcons, lose it, the Falcons lost it for exactly what Stephen said. It's one thing if one dude. Doesn't know what's going on doesn't know what the situation, but the only chance they have is to recover the on side kick. So how is it that? No one on the team knows the situation sometimes a game does come down to one play in the history of the NFL or at least since in the last four, hundred, Forty Times this occurred you've ever seen this stat, right? If you score thirty nine points and you come away with three turnovers. You win three with turnovers, your four, hundred, Forty and Oh, and until last night and. Now. It's four forty one falcons lost. Didn't lose it. The cowboys won and the reason I say the cowboys won game is because they applied that pressure at the end of the game there was no quit and debt prescot I'm looking at me like their male side you look at me straight on they applied that pressure in you apply that pressure to somebody they crack. Okay. They started to panic in the cowboys continue methodically moving the ball down the field that Prescott cooking four, hundred plus yards thrown in the air receivers. Kitchen balls wasn't doing in the first half then owning onside kick side of it watching the film. And looking at it. I'm thinking that Atlanta wanted the ball dribble out of bounds. Why don't know I have no idea why they started backing up you're supposed to attack. The football. When you're on the hands team, I don't know why Julio Jones wasn't on the front line of polls the being the jumper, which is the second way behind the opposite. Julio Julio was the jumper Behi- when he actually should have been on the front line. I don't know they fired a special teams coach in early spring. So maybe that's the reason that he was gone and they brought somebody else that didn't communicate to those guys well enough. They certainly to cowboys one that they have folded his think you're wrong because I'm listening to your explanation and you're talking about how Dallas applying the pressure. Well, Atlanta's twenty two north Dallas scores a touchdown. Wait a minute, but Atlantic came back and responded immediately with a touchdown and what happened was that then they go for the two point conversion stupidly they fail. Second Stephen and you go for two points because you're afraid that Dallas is getting ready.
Boston - Seahawks Stop Cam Newton On The Goal Line, Escaping With 35-30 Win Over Patriots
"Pages Seahawks I tried to tell him that he keeps telling me. He doesn't this one came down to the last three seconds faster. The goal line down five with a chance and cam gets stuff not even close cam though and Ross did put on a show eight total touchdowns between them but the Patriots coming up too short here is Cam Newton on getting tonight on that last play. It was a great play by. Day We had favored gain program the couple of times figure. This thing into the world to midtown but identity today. Said so confident about. Being bowed executing. Could've balanced it no looking to. Better. Better here at the end. And You know we we put ourselves in a position to win and. When you do that and just gotTa Got Senate, show you'll be. and. With that, we welcome in our quarterback Michael Vick Mike. Let's start there. Would you make that final play the game? Cam said they may have went to the where one soon times with that play but that's the play that they executed. Well. Over the last two weeks and I think he scored a touchdown early on a similar plate and even ahead of play action off of that place. So. Bet Play is a play that they can use any. Situation would be third down. Razov and has been effective. I honestly don't think it should it came down to that play. There were plays in a game I think maybe one or two cam probably would have won it back. A couple questionable, third-down caused, and which they ran the ball nate allow Camden Doda football so. Probably should've never came down to that wind play particularly, but I think cam play well play winning football. They play football on both sides and I was very impressed highly impressed but off this play will spend more plays for the doing pages in Kansas and let's really comfortable. Running a system and they're going to be a tough team to beat. Not Soon Change. They're going to beat the New England patriots. Team planning the postseason easily but at the same time. They're gonNA come situations in the game where they gonNA. have to find ways to win games like this and I'm pretty sure that they'll go back and look this film. It comes down to them being. On one and a two yard line and finding a way to get it in I. Think they was kind of shocked in that moment and just search a four play call.
Week 2 updates: Chicago Bears 17, New York Giants 13
"Nothing at half time on the Giants is huge, except the bearsoffense curls up into a ball and needs every bit of defense. Hold off New York in the soldier field overs down 10 46 Sharp mind Jones Milking the clock down to five. Whit's coming times it up. Hit from behind and down, He goes back with a set. Number four today by the Bears Act. Robert Quinn, Aqui Mix and Barkevious Mingo are in sacks stalling the Giants Final drive at the 10 Yard line EARNS the Bears a close call victory over New York 17 13 getting shut out the second half Matt Maggie's matter, too. And all. We didn't do enough offensively in that 3rd and 4th quarter. I thought overall, obviously you love having the wind going to now, right? You love that part. But I just felt like today there weren't enough explosives. On the offensive side. Strabinsky two touchdowns, two interceptions. David Montgomery 128 Total Yards Bears Falcons next Sunday. Matt Nagy
Travel to Turkmenistan
"I'd like to welcome back to the show Justin Barnes from Justin and crystal dot com, and just has come to talk to us about Turkmenistan Justin. Welcome back to the show. Thank you. Thanks for having me back and I say welcome back to the show Justin was on episode six, twenty, nine about the Big island of Hawaii. This is a very different destination. We're talking about today. What's your connection with Turkmenistan? We traveled there on a trip to or the stands. There's the five stands Turkmenistan Kazakhstan respect. Extended Kurdistan, and we went to four of them on a trip and Turkmenistan is certainly the most interesting of the bunch in terms of how foreign it was. The misers foreign every since the word will and I was very interested in doing the show because been one time since we've talked about Turkmenistan and because. Before covert hit, we had a amateur traveler trip plan to the stands not to all five to two. I think of them as I recall in two thousand and twenty one which has bumped to two thousand and twenty two, but still planning on taking a group to that region of the world. So should someone go to Turkmenistan all for one thing it has something that I am fairly certain no other country. In the world has which Zeke giant flaming pit in the middle of the desert that looks for one tencent purposes like a volcanic crater but is actually just burning natural gas and you can walk right up to the edge of it. It's about the ultimate across at about one hundred feet deep and that's something you're not gonna see any world's Laurel I think Azerbaijan has some similar geologic features of natural burning. Areas that have been burning for hundreds of years. Well, in addition to that, there's some very interesting Silk Road historical sites, and also some history even older than that going back to partying times in an earlier excellent and the Parthenon's being a contemporaries with an and rivals with the Romans. The recreation of the Persian state after the fall of Persia to Alexander the Great. Excellent will what should one do would enter and where are you going to take us on an itinerary here? So I would recommend or remain sites that can kind of seen in any. Any order. One is the capital Ashgabad, which is in the south central part of the country. nother one is the gas crater, which is more or less than the very center of the country. Kunia organic, which is the north central or the country. And finally merged, which is in the eastern part of the country in the horror which would go to those guys somewhat dictated in where you're coming from and where you're going to afterwards I think for the most are people who be traveling Turkmenistan. If you'RE GONNA, go that way you're not going to be going only to Turkmenistan, and so it's going to be part of a larger trip either balls, other stands and or. Now, we're you doing trip independently or as part of a tour or how did you arrange us? This was part of a tour. I. Think as a practical matter, it is very unlikely that somebody is going to get a visa to stand on their own is hard to get into Turkmenistan insulin less. You're going with a company that does a lot of tour packages there where they take care of getting visa process they donald is across all the ts I think for all intents and purposes it's it's almost impossible to get in unless you with without friends or family member living country. Will and one thing we should bring up just because people are gonNA look at the map and some people are going to say, no right away. Because of its neighbors. Because we just to the south of Turkmenistan Afghanistan in Iran Iran being very stable country right meal although not always one that my country the US is friendly with Afghanistan not necessarily. Being as stable but Turkenistan you've found to be fairly safe an interesting country to travel to. Yes and we went there from Iran and they were quite different but I felt safe in both places for different reasons. Under of the spectrum well in, we'll talk about more about Iran some other day. There's a couple, very fascinating episodes that we've done on. Iran made me want to get there ever since we've talked about it. So took minutes said you start at us in the capital, Yes yes. So Ashgabad new would either fly into or conceivably if you were on a road trip from either northern Iran or from Pakistan might come in. The car by I think most likely would come into the airport, which is very interesting. Airport probably will not see too many if any other airports that look the same with a multi billion dollar airport that looks like eighty giant Falcon or shave your channel self is a Falcon hundreds of feet. We'll be thousands of feet across.
'Space Hero:' Planned reality TV show wants to launch winner to International Space Station

Fantasy Football Forecast: One BIG THING you should know for every Week 2 matchup
"I sit out the way New Orleans versus Las Vegas raters. We saw New Orleans showcase really really solid, really great defensive performance against Tom. Brady and the buccaneers They were pretty on disappointed as a team, lot of penalties on their defensive side of the front. The saints rebel to take advantage of that. La Raiders played against the Carolina Panthers last week and gave up thirty points. It's very possible that New Orleans doesn't look as Resi as they did against a really solid defensive front in Tampa. Bay and they might have their way with a raiders team that is still kind of pretty young and trying to get their footing and all this stuff. They don't they had an injury to majority of their wide receivers in the last game. So Dan, Waller seems to be their only solid option. At the receiving side of things that might mean there in Waller's uptick in target's share and my means, he gets an ends on this year or this week maybe something good happens for him I'm buying all the stock now I'm Kamara right now for this game, this should be Alvin Kamara. KAMERA's two touchdown, a hundred yards from scrimmage plus game. This is this is the one I wouldn't see why would be any otherwise and to be quite frank. I think that a lot of players on seem to have a really big game and this would be a really fun game to see trae Kwan Smith. I'm going to bring them up again. This'll be a fun game Trey Smith. Look to be a solid. Relieving game just for brevity and sake of saving saints, fans of fantasy fans alike, some worry as to what the saints offense can look like without Michael Thomas Soaking up a lot of the defensive pressure. All right. So Fancy implications all over the place you know Josh Jacobs. This could be a really good test to see just how much they believe in Josh Jacobs as a pass catcher because I don't know how much he's going to be able to do in the run game considering New Orleans is when had and still does on one of the better run defenses in all the football. I think the best game. Pound for pound this week has to be the night game on NBC, where New England is playing against Seattle that they're going to be playing in Seattle New England the we have a kind of banged up cam and she says it's the there's no hamstring issue but. Of Most people are saying that he does, Kinda. Have a little bit of a hamstring thing going on and we'll see how that affects him with all read option stuff and what we saw from last Sunday's performance maybe we started to see cam throw a little bit more, and then we can really see just what this doing his offense really has to offer for them sure that bill will have them ready for whatever and we saw sea hawks offense that basically let Russell Wilson do what people have been asking. Them to let Russell. Wilson do for basically the majority of the back half of the dense. You know twenty seventeen was to let Russ Cook and Cook did Russell Wilson? Do He only missed four passes? He had A. Great amount of yardage great touchdown passes de que look. Nice at times he did have some drops of course, Tyler Lockett looked really good. Chris Carson looked amazing. In the past game. We had some really good screens run in for touchdowns. They got tight ends involved the plethora tight ends at the seahawks own and their defense was literally flying around all over the place. Now, there are a lot of garbage time touchdown stuff in that Falcons game that I'm not GonNa hold against the defense when it mattered. Jamal Adams and of course. Everybody else in that defense just looked phenomenal. They just looked physical. They looked like they were flying around and making plays they look very formidable as team very formidable. So. That is a game as the May have a lot of implemented implications on things so KEEP IN MIND I think one of the better secondaries in the League is New England's granted they played against. The, dolphins but they did not allow that many receptions or receiving yards at all for either receiver on the dolphins and Tyler Lockett, and care very athletic fast guys but. It's going to be tough. Is GonNa be a tough about we'll see what happens. They may have to change up the strategy of leading Russ Cook for this game in particular and work through the old tried and true run the ball and try to make something happen later on in the game. But for US Russell Wilson owners like myself I hope they just let him throw the ball a little bit more that'd be nice. That would be fun I think we'd all like to enjoy that. So moving on towards another game I think the Baltimore Game at four, twenty, five eastern standard time on CBS is going to be a good one, Baltimore versus Houston. This game can go I think Houston is a team that kid look Jacqueline Hyde and they've been jekyll and Hyde ever since the Shawn Watson is come on that team and. Not Sage. It's the Sean played bad last Thursday. But he definitely did not look comfortable one hundred percent of the time and you just was trying to make plays. His offensive line wasn't there fully stout at all and when it was time to just throw throw throw things Kinda got out of hand for Houston Houston can't be a team that gets to behind too quickly or else it is going to be nightmarish for the offensive line. And it's going to be a bad day for Shawn Watson even though he can make miracles happen at will while Samour's in perfect position to take on a team that showcase bad tackling display. So this is a team. So if this is the time where you want to be like, okay JK Dobbins, he didn't have that many targets but hey, he got two touchdowns in is the time to test out the JK Dobbins is going to be. The album? Kamara. To Marketing Rooms Mark Ingram. So we'll see what happens here Lamar he this seem doesn't tackle well, Lamar could have himself a anywhere closer to forty to fifty yards rushing easily against this team if he wants it, and of course, Mark Andrews is a guy who I would think would eat very well against the Houston team that allowed drivers Kelsey to get like five catches in the first half with ease marched up and down the field with ease Look to see how David Johnson looks in his second bout. David Johnson had a nice surprise of a Comeback Week one performance that a lot of people were speculating was possible and he delivered for the most part. So that was encouraging for many people to go ahead and see so I wouldn't. Put it past him to do it once again. That's really really against the I think that Brandin cooks is still a bit. So that would not be. Great for folks owners. And I would be looking at anybody who has. Willie snead Willie snead was all over the place last week and it was almost to a shocking amount of how much willie snead was dependent on and I said Willie snead. That was not who I meant to say I meant to say will fuller will fuller will around the field for the Texans last week and I would like to see him continue that stretch because that would be. Pretty awesome to be completely honest. I. Would like to see a will fuller healthy and showcasing that he is here to stay in this league and thus it would not make me feel nearly as bad for short.
Lego Fans Tricked By Counterfeit Kits
"Lagos, are more than a toy, their investment, the company that makes those little plastic building blocks pulled in more than five point five billion dollars in sales. Last year, they often sell legos in special kits, sometimes depicting famous movie scenes and they retire those kids after a while making them collector's items for fans and upping their value. But where there's money to be made, there are also scams. Let's go into the world of counterfeit. Lego sets with Stacey Vanek Smith and Sally herships from the PODCAST, the indicator planet money. Tom glasco lives in Dayton. Ohio is three kids and they all love Lego, which is how he got into trouble. He'd been looking for a LEGO ray resistance fighter for his son and so perusing facebook one day I saw an ad for it for what seemed to be a low. But maybe not too low of a price. The exiting was half price just thirty bucks. The pieces weren't the same quality and they didn't go together quite as nicely as regular legos Tom had bought what turned out to be a knockoff. Lego set a counterfeit on their own legos are just these little plastic bricks. You can see why it would be tempting to make. Counterfeits chronic air pot or an apple watch or something the biggest and most notorious. These counterfeiters is a Chinese brand called Leppin. It operates completely openly I mean you can visit the company's website Leppin, world dot com and you will see that its logo and Legos logo are almost identical. But if you end up buying a knockoff, you don't just risk getting a flimsier product you could also ended up costing yourself money down the line if you're planning to resell your legos later on to understand how the LEGO scams work I turned to a superfan Steve Elliot he is thirty eight and lives in Albany Wisconsin if someone posts like a big seven, hundred dollar. People will zoom in and look to see if they can see the legos stamp on the top of a brick, which is called a stud. They don't see it. They'll accuse them of it being a knock off products. The lego community is enormous. There are whole websites like brick picker, dot, com brick link, and facebook groups like star. Wars Lego collectors USA, and if you buy fakes even accidentally and try to resell them, you could get yourself banned in two thousand seventeen something unprecedented happened in the Lego aftermarket, the secondary market, the prices of big sets, those giant boxes with thousands of. Lego pieces they started dropping, and this is according to brick picker. One of those Lego pricing and investment guides unprecedented here here's a clip from the brick picker youtube channel. Now, elephants in the room of course, is the Millennium Falcon and take a look at legal Millennium Falcon Graph when the Lego Millennium Falcon was first released over a decade ago. It was the most expensive legos ever four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars, ninety, nine cents, and then the price shot up to almost five thousand dollars but a couple of years ago it dropped by more than thirty percent in less than a year. By this set was one of the worst decisions that I made in my entire collection brick picker said. In Alkan started cropping up all over the Internet from places like let's knock off Millennium Falcon sets, which, of course, sell for much less a Lotta the Lego fans I talked to you were pretty upset about this. So be careful out there the next time you are shopping make sure you are getting the real thing
Cowboys expect to have 20,000 fans in attendance for home opener
"Will be back this weekend when it comes to the Taos Cowboy's home opener. Against the Atlanta Falcons. Now last weekend, we had fans on Ly in three places. Denver, Jacksonville and I'm thirdly Kansas City Open of the season, where they have reduced capacity and the Dallas Cowboys. Well have they expect out 20,000 fans in the opener and a place that holds 80,000 fans, not a surprise to Jerry Jones even said he expected some fans the 10 games and douse this season. And how are they going to feel if this cowboy's team with the injury here? An injury there in defense start this season Adeline too.

Should 49ers be worried about Super Bowl hangover?
"Super bowl hangover thing it's talked about a fair bit and I'll have to bring it next time on. But I've tweeted about it before and and noted that the team loses the Super Bowl auction has huge trouble making the playoffs the next year Then that's the super bowl loser not the winner. So outside of the New England, Patriots who bounced back off that Philadelphia lost that we were both there for in Minneapolis and beat the rams the next year usually look at the rams last year out of the playoffs look. The Falcons the year after they blew the twenty eight three lead out of the Playoffs Carolina hasn't won a playoff game since they were super bowl loser. So you double back over time you see it a lot. I wasn't expecting the forty niners and I'm still not to miss the playoffs. But what what's being asked to them in the NFC west where I think the best three teams are that will finish one, two, three, NFC, the AFC may change my mind about that if either of the Ohio teams steps up in his really good they both lost yesterday. In different circumstances but I think this is the only division that can necessarily happened in some people like the NFC north I should point out because they liked the lions but we saw what transpired with him yesterday. So it's GonNa be a tough decision to win games in that, and that's one of the forty niners are really really gonNa want back and for Jimmy Garoppolo non no interceptions but there was just nothing exceptional about his play yesterday and we saw a lot more check down as well to to Mostert than than we wouldn't necessarily expected look you. Also take George Kit off the field, and that's a factor and a needs to get talked about and discussed that he had to play a good chunk of the game a game they end up losing by four points at home, and he had to play good chunk of the without George cadle do that to the cardinals take the Andrei also field for for a couple of possessions and Arizona struggled a lot more than
Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons, and Miami Dolphins among teams that protested racism at season kickoff

Seattle's Jason Myers kick the ball through the end zone to start the Seahawks season in Atlanta, and then both teams. Joined together and dropped to one knee. Minnesota Vikings hosted the family of George Floyd across the league, few dozen players as well as the Indianapolis coach, Frank, right. Knelt during the national anthem, Other teams state in their locker rooms. The Miami Dolphins had already announced last week. They would stay in the locker room for the playing of the anthem for the entire season.

"Active on Game Day so Yeah, it's funny. It seems like the Falcons always have these players that you know inexplicably don't see the field and you would think they would and you know whether it's going back to God like Lauren Saberi remember that name Now. It's Sonata and we're all of wondering. Not taking the field I will say there were some rumors a take them for what they're worth. that. He didn't have quote unquote the work ethic if that's hard to substantiate but. I will say this Marlon Davidson, the rookie defensive tackle drafted. This year has mainly been out because of lingering injury. He suffered early on and has not really like grabbed the role and you know Davidson sort of past him for and at this point, it looks like even someone like Jacob. To to Tweet Oh, my God Jacob Something Meredith. To to to whatever. Brodie twenty. Yes. Thank you Jacob Toady. Murder Keita. I hope he's not listening to him. So sorry Jacob. It looks like he may be passing him on the depth chart and. Yeah, you know if you want to say that the Falcons may have missed on this pick. Right now I don't think we would argue with you so good question. Off I think what's also making this difficult for us especially is that nobody is like if we had some preseason film to kind of get an idea, made this difficult for analysts to this whole preseason because we're not seeing them going against other guys in the game we really analysis you put analysis forward on what they're doing like. We don't know if if maybe the falcons like in one of these undrafted is like CELOSIAS LA- TO HIDDEN WALL. Lay. John comiskey still there. We don't know where their preference is going So it's Kinda hard to be like get. Or. You know going into the season. If. He's GonNa be there still you know I will say this you know when it comes to defensive tackle. With the Falcons, the fact that they do play, you know roughly sixty plus percent of their defense outside of base defenses. There's probably not a ton of snaps for him. anyways, because Greg Jarrett is gonNA. Get the majority you know they'll probably use like you mentioned Kamensky in pass rushing interior set so. I don't know that he was going to see a lot of snaps even if he impressed and especially with Marlon Davidson I, I think the writing was on the wall for Snot but we'll see there are still some time to go in. Davison needs to get healthy before he can even see the field at this point. It looks like he's going to be eased in very slowly since he's had this lingering injuries since getting a camp. So, yet great question. Ryan please don't burn my house down. WE'RE GONNA move to next question and that next question comes from at Chris Falcon Levin from twitter, and he asks inevitable I with us when he asked. defense be a top sixteen. So in other words, top half of the League will our defense be a top sixteen defense this year what do you think? I must say, yes, there are to be nicotine best though. Is GonNa be right here in Iran in that honestly, that would be a blessing that's all we need them to be. We don't need them to really be a Number one number two whatever just be right there in the middle where you're not necessarily losing games for us. As long as they're not like in the thirties or you know late twenties we're going to be just fine. Gina about top sixteen. Yeah, I. Think the top fifty percent league is doable. I got say when I glanced at these questions I read that as top Ernie to and I was like a yes. I've had a very long day top young I. think that's Joel and like Evans said, I mean, all Matt Ryan and this offensive talent that but falcons have meade as an adequate defense save how many years have been saying this sends me a background. It's I mean I feel like I've been saying. All Matt. Ryan needs an adequate defence. A top fifty percents defense would be an adequate defense and I think that they could really really flourish and so yeah that I think that they can. They should with the talent that they have I like the coaching changes that they've made on defense I think that point to yield solid results and so yeah, I think that they can be top sixteen and I think that's going to be good enough. Yeah. I, feel like it will be I feel like they'll benefit from having falcons offense that I do think we better this year not in. We'll get to Dirk koetter later some of the questions but. I I do feel like girly isn't upgrade in running game. I do feel like Calvin really is going to help make this a very dangerous offense from passing standpoint. But. Also, you know you look at defense I feel like aged Terrell is probably going to ultimately be an upgrade on desma font who has sort of you know declining towards the back if of his career and I feel like Dante Fowler is going to be a substantial upgrade over what we had in. Beasley. So. Those things alone to me feel like they're going to all benefit the defense, a defense that in the second half of two thousand nineteen played much better and I think they'll carry that over I'm sorta with you guys I think they will be right towards the middle maybe you know fifteen or sixteen literally. So the answer, a Chris is we we all think they will be top sixteen. US, barely. All right. A couple more questions for you head to the break from man. At Brian. At Brian. Grow three eleven on twitter. A. Love that name. It's so falcons like. Here's. What Week Will Matt Ryan Haters claim that we should have paid? Scam Newton. Gina. How soon do you think will hear those cries rally you know one of the things that kind of disrupts my answer to the question is the lack of preseason because it would have happened. Matt Ryan, first incompletion, a preseason game, and so I'm going to say it's going to happen either has I and completion or has first turnover I guess that you know essentially same result there but whichever comes first and week one that's what's going to that's what's the fun that and it's going to be you know Matt Ryan is bust should find Tom Brady. You know all all this kind of unrealistic stuff that doesn't make any sense but and completely ignoring the fact that you know Matt Ryan is quality. Franchise quarterback my feelings on this or well-documented. I..

"End it the same way. tastic Aston you just I mean you see the night and day difference between the in all Mitt. I'm one of the people that was like oh in Queens back to being the offensive coordinator like he was when we went to super bowl awesome. Wait it blew up the first day games were terrible and then I mean it could be the world's biggest coincidence but it isn't remorse stepped in In credit to Dan Quinn he basically said you know. I'm I'm sucking here do this right you know and I think that honestly is why he's still around because that that is an important thing to do because because a lot of these people have massive goes where they don't want to failure nope I nobody wants to admit failure. And that's essentially what he did by stepping back and letting more step in you know and that's the players love him that's the leader thing Double back to that. I mean that's just as important as anything I think is heaven players who actually wants to win for you You know not to just focus on Danny Quinn. But I think it's relevant here where you know. He has confidence taking. Moore's his job was on the line and he basically said redeem. I'm doing a terrible job here. You go run it and he ran it and honestly I think you're right. I think that is a big factor for why is allowed to come back. I mean he saved his job offense. You could argue play better but the defense you know really woke up. UH-HUH I mean you just look at the for me. I'm a big turnover guy. If you're winning the turnover margin you're GonNa win the game thing. I mean four turnovers. Over's Bhai the defense in the first eight games. That's that's so bad. They had the in the next time. They had turnovers against the Carolina Panthers. They had four so they matched the two games into remorse. Running the defense You know it's just it's night and day difference But I mean that's my overall thoughts and you know I don't WanNa be excited because his team stupid and likes to get our hopes up and just destroy them. But I'm more optimistic about this defensive Benson was say week eight or week nine You know I think remorse it should be a head coach. You know somewhere else probably pretty soon. We haven't for year next year. Yeah exactly You know so I mean we'll see we'll see what they add this off season I don't think the defense is terrible. I don't think people need to panic in growing more Honestly doing a pretty damn good job considering a yeah you know in the back half of the season now have a full offseason of being the defensive coordinator so now he can actually focus on you know because I believe he didn't he start the season as passing coordinator or something like that and it wasn't even on defense. Now with the Falcons on the defensive side about yeah but I mean like he went into the bye week in got the reins in his next opponent was at the New Orleans saints who I mean they were riding high at that point like nobody gave them a shot and we held them to nine points. I think what it also gets lost in that is they were also on a bi week so they had all that time to prepare for us as well so you know. I'm really high on rookie. Remorse I'm excited. I think the defense is only gonNA get better Or they should. I'll say that so. Yeah Yeah I've seen what happened. So as I think you you echoed it. You already said Dan Quinn's best move was firing Dan. Quinn and adversity fence was concerned. So what that means for twenty twenty. I'm not sure any of US know with any certainty but is minimum certainly made. It made the team interesting at least in in some of the wrong ways. Yeah so with that. We're going to wrap up this This review of the two thousand eighteen. Zhao Ken's defense. Evan wants you to our listeners where they can find you what you've got going on. Yeah you can find me on twitter at Burchfield in also writing for the Alchoholic. Lca Hollick You know I know. "Pro Bowl nod. he was one of the best interior pass rushers in the entire. NFL believe he finished. What was it with seven sacks seven or eight sacks from the interior with evident right in the middle? It's a right in the middle of that. which is really for defensive tackles? That's a great number and honestly had at least to the I know were take it away from him from bogus roughing the passer penalty yes so arguably could have had nine to ten sacks if the NFL knew what roughing the passer actually ones uh-huh but let's talk about their overall performance I want to start first with some of the free agents we brought in because I feel like we actually got some decent value. We're here we brought in a two guys in particular Alan Bailey in Tyler Davidson What are your thoughts on these? Two guys how they did the year Were they worth you know the relative the money that they were given. Yeah I mean I like Davidson and the preseason so I'm kind of excited to see what the regular season were turn out. I mean he had one sack and I believe Bailey really also had one sack in a Bailey was only. He only started in like five games so he was more of like I guess debt player for him. I don't know but I mean Davidson somebody who you probably don't want starting but I think he's really good depth for the team I don't know what their plan is to do. DOC to address it. Because the Falcons honestly their defensive line wasn't that bad in regards to the run defense so I don't think you know uh I'm not going to sit here and say oh they you know they suck 'cause they certainly were doing their job overall and it's hard to pick and they can apart. I think the Falcons could certainly upgrade upgrade You know maybe in the draft like I know that people kept on about Derrick Brown and stuff like they got a really solid defensive tackle next to him that could be fun but Davidson. Certainly someone. I'd like to see.

"Wise. They're not in the right place where they're maintaining gap integrity and staying true the run. They're missing tackles. They've been involving. Eric read a lot and he's a very good run defender but on Sunday he was terrible. So yeah it's it's GonNa be interesting. I don't really even know what to say. Because I could see the panthers coming out. And shutting down the Falcons and I can see the falcons going for like two two hundred yards rushing altogether in Gina. To that point I in some ways. This feels like a match up that that is hard to predict because on the one hand the Falcons have have been trying to run the ball more and they obviously have more success excess against the saints than they have had all year long but there are also missing their top. Two running backs I mean. devante Freeman is going to be l.. More than likely either Smith. We lost him for the season a couple of weeks ago And now we're down to Brian Hill. WHO had a great game against the saints on Sunday but season and he's had you know moments Throughout his career where he is looked apart you know caen in feature back option long-term no but I think especially against a team with a run defense like Carolina's he could probably get some things done. I think Brian it was interesting that you mentioned the DFS angle because shoutouts brains dock one of our readers who is on twitter and he plays in my draftkings draftkings leagues on a regular basis. And so he asked me today. If Brian Hill was a smart quake anything about it. And I mean he is going to be because he's not devante Freeman. He's not you know one top-flight backs but he I think will be able to get some points And so yeah well. While the Falcons have as much success success against the panthers on the ground as like teams with an actual first string running back. WHO's healthy enough to start? Probably not but I think the Brian Hill can have a pretty okay. Whole game wants them? I guess the thing that concerns me is again. The Panthers are one of the best to get after the quarterback and this has been a year again. We're my Matt. Ryan has been pressured pretty regularly throughout the season. That's he got injured because of excessive pressure in the game Before the bye week. So it's this is this feels like a potentially bad matchup for the Falcons offense because they wanna they wanna pass and then on top of that. You're missing an Austin. Hooper who's Relief Valve so on on with the Patriots He was sweeper role. He was a super reliable option for Ryan the entire time that he was here. Calvin readily is having a very inconsistent season You know I think that Jaden Graham has potential but luke stocker is no Austin her And so again. This is a depleted offense. I don't think that fit based on what I know about high ankle sprains. I don't think that Matt Ryan is one hundred percent. I don't think that he will be for a couple of weeks. And you know if they put him on the run and on Sunday. That's going to be. It's going to be a long day and you know the offense played. Well I thought against the saints and I have to single out caleb mcgarry because I thought he really had an exceptional game against one of the better has rushers in the league and Cam Jordan and so you know I think that they're urge selling To steal a phrase from Earth to steal a word from Thomas Roth finally gelling when we had so many personnel l.. Changes because I like. It is our chemistry so I think that they're getting there. Hopefully they can be cohesive enough to keep Matt Ryan from dying it but yeah yeah honestly I just want to say this one thing in response to Gina before we move on but if Matt Ryan is tasked with throwing the ball anywhere from thirty five to fifty the times he's GonNa get killed. Yeah Yeah Yeah. I think that's pretty clear. And they don't want to do that but I think if if the panthers can slow the rundown on first and second down. I think that'd be a key. Because if if you start forcing the Falcons in the third long in in telling US offensive line to hold on for a seven step drop against pass rush. It could be a very very long afternoon. So WanNa flip the script. WanNa talk about the the panthers offense events and this sort of what the hell are. They Falcons. Defense Gina I wanNA start the Falcons defense because you know we saw something completely different Sunday from what we've seen the rest of the season you know we saw the six sacks we saw some great coverage including from a Kendall Sheffield who are. What school did he go to your State University? Dvu even if some of our friends on twitter disagree but yes it what what is your take do. Are you concerned like I am that. Maybe it was a one game. Aberration is it a sign of a turnaround. What is your read on the defense? For the Falcons. I don't think that you can be straight up trash four all of those weeks and then all of a sudden you have one game and everybody is just supposed to be like oh great now. They're just a bunch of all pros. Everything is this egg you know. Is it reasonable to expect that they ah have improved With you know more clang time for the guys who are forced into more snaps because of injuries and you know just more time to acclimate to each other and the changes with the coaching staff. Moving his actions were reasonable to expect. I think that My hope at least that they won't look as much like hot asked as they looked for every game up until the saints game. So that's my hope but yeah I mean as far as expecting them to replicate that performance. I think that that is a long long shot up for disappointment folks. If you think that. That's going to Piss Falcons defense. We see every week. I mean I think Saints Saints Game Aside. They have to continue to earn it. They have to relearn our trust. And that's going to include having to repeat that performance This weekend and Carolina to get us to buy in that they may be better than what we thought have to hold the three field goals. And you're GONNA have to land success that's war in your trash okay. That's that's a pretty high bar but hey you guys set the standard entered yourself so on the road division game. I see no differences here So Brian Panther's offense obviously Carolina's Cam Newton. I want to get your quick take on you. He is actually going to be gone or not Christian McCaffrey. He clearly legitimately one of the best offensive weapons in the NFL. This year. at I don't think that's arguable at this point and Kyle Allen is he good enough that fans shouldn't worry about potentially losing cam and then maybe one thing that I I think is being overlooked or not talked about enough is the panthers offensive line. I it feels like they have some good pieces. But maybe there's still some holes in this this unit. What is can you give Falcons fans a quick read on the panthers offense the camp situation? Just give us the update okay. So the CAM. Newton situation is being horrifically overblown by the national media because David tepper before the season even started instead he would be willing to let Cam Newton sit for the entire season if needed They have a twelve million dollar deal or fourteen million dollar deal or something like going into next year there is no reason to trade him. They're like especially now when he's GonNa be coming off and probably not having played like what trade valued valued quarterback like that half. You'RE NOT GONNA get multiple first round picks for him so he doesn't have trade value. Have Kyle locked in on his rookie deal. He has no choice but to accept except the League minimum next year. So it just doesn't make sense to part ways with Cam. Newton that that fourteen million or so. They're going to have if they cut him or trade. Him is just going to end up going towards a quarterback probably so why would you give yourself that problem. In this off season people have been pointing. The Kyle Allen's win record and like well. He used the future because he's got this many wins and now all of a sudden that win loss record is starting to teeter back to five hundred so it's being overblown loan a lot. And if you if you actually watch kyle and play you can tell he doesn't make the throws that you would want for a quarterback. Yeah he's got he's had some nice throws but he you also Mrs stuff that Cam Newton would hit with Greg Olsen routinely So I don't think that you that Falcon stands should rejoice in that Carolina's is going to let go and Cam Newton. I think he'll be back next year and quite frankly I think he'll be back better than ever no matter what happens this season because he's going to have a whole offseason recover and the whole issue right now. Is Liz Frank Injury injury and not even a shoulder. It's a totally different injury. So those freak injuries happen everybody like it's not it's you know they absolutely. It's not like the shoulder sir. The shoulder injury suddenly contributes to him hurting his foot. It just happens it sucks and you you know it is what it is. He's going to be fine as far as the panthers offense on. Sunday against the Falcons Defense Obviously the number one guide really worry about is Christian McCaffrey. I'm sure that nobody's surprised by that. But just looking at the Saints Game Alvin Kamara touch the ball. Four Times rushing the football and eight times receiving which is twelve touches. You can expect Christian McCaffrey to get double that this game. No matter how bad the panthers offenses he he somebody where you can only contain him for so long the way he's been playing recently and he's going to get the football doesn't matter the the the one thing about the saints is that they don't devote stubbornly to a certain player all the time same from maybe Michael Thomas but even then he's been having a good season No matter how bad the panthers offense is Christian McCaffrey. We'll be getting that football. And he's GonNa get and he will break one open for a touchdown I can. If the Falcons could easily win this game Christian McCaffrey. Having one. Hundred and forty yards of scrimmage is going to happen he's GonNa he's GonNa have a lot of yards. So that's the identity. The Panthers Right now is Kyle. Alan needs to play just enough just well enough for them. Not to lose and Christian. McCaffrey needs to take place. That said you're probably GONNA watch kyle out on Sunday and be like what the Hell is national media. Hyping this guy up about because he'll he'll make throw words like a dime twenty five yards on the field and the next he'll he'll make a spin move and you're like oh we're going to see him unleashed and it'll go thirteen yards.

Of course with my co-host Gina Thomas and we're joined by the one and only Brian bevere sluice from the keep sounding. PODCAST US and cat scratch reader. Talk about the Falcons. Going on the roads take on the Panthers Division game an important division game. This weekend We we spoke in the first. Half about the falcons trying to help out the panthers by beating the saints and the panthers unfortunately dropping one on the road to the packers Clearly if the panthers are GonNa make up ground in the division in catch up to the saints that this is a game that is critical for their playoff hopes. They're five and four dropping. A five of five is gonNA make it a little bit harder to catch up with you. Know a a seven and two saints team but if they can you know keep winning in hope that you know they've got some matchups with the saints coming up They can possibly flip the division if you know they can play these games relatively well so important matchup. Obviously for the for the Falcons. They're playing essentially for Dan Quinn's career at this point. We did a lot of polling gina this week about On twitter and at the site about what it would take for Falcons fans fans to be okay with Dan Quinn. Staying head coach in the twenty twenty and I was a little bit surprised. I thought that most fans would be like no. We're done but it seems like the majority fans think that if he can win out or win seven of the next eight Games which I still think is tall task that they would be okay with him. Staying saying is head coach so some interesting results. In obviously beating the saints will buy you a lot of grace with with this franchise but let's let's start from that angle. I e how important you think. This game is for the Falcons of Dan Quinn Before we go the Brian to talk about the importance to the panthers. I I think that In particular I think that he bought himself some goodwill last week. no matter what not just beating the saints but going into their house you know doing something that the Falcons have have struggled to do consistently like the Mike Smith in particular. It's been better under Quinn but I mean and especially in a year where they had one win going into it and the saints head end. Verse schedule Earn an inverse record. You know seven and one compared to one seven I I think he bought himself some good well without win especially the fact that he was willing to take a step back from The defensive play calling you know in I some things in change some things up to To make the team better and so. I don't think that this game is a make or break game for him but I do think that he is still. I'm trying to build a case to remain the Falcons head coach at the end and so from that perspective. I think that every minute of every game counts. Yes I think that every mistake is magnified I think every losses magnified and I think that you know we're watching the season slip away very quickly and so from in that perspective. I think that this game is undeniably important to us future. Yep so for reference the poll that was mentioning. We ran the quick one on twitter. quitter thirty seven percent of Fan said that he's gotTa go no matter what thirty six percent said if he finished his nine and seven keep him in. Fourteen percent said eight nate. Keep him in another fourteen percent. Said as long as six ten or better you wish you keep him so interesting wresting results there in you know I think if they're gonNA finish nine and seven. They have to win. Obviously the Sunday so Brian. How important and this game for the panthers with an eye towards the playoffs It's obviously hugely important It's visual game. Even if the Falcons skains might not really have realistic shot at the playoffs. It's still a big game. The panthers need to rebound they've even without Cam. They've always been very very momentum. Based I've said that many times on this podcast and ultimately they have to come back to the way they win football football games which is Christian. McCaffrey the football play. Good defense sacked. The quarterback like this is a game for them to restore their competence. It's also a game. Where Kyle Alan can rebound a little bit Pretty much every game going forward is important because this is the toughest part of the panthers schedule. Because they have the Falcons twice which regardless eldest of their schedule. The Falcons always at least get one win over the panthers are how good they are And they have Seattle they have hundred remember who else they got. They have that up real quick great journalism. You've got Washington and Indianapolis Yeah Washington. Obviously you. I think that's a winnable game. They lost that one last year. and Indianapolis is a tough team. Very well put together. So it's they need to put together a string of wins in order to really get a push for the playoffs because even if they if they don't win the division there's a chance that even if they have say a ten win record that they don't make the playoffs because because the NFC is so stacking right now so really. I think this is the game. Where IF CAROLINA IS GONNA rebound from whatever? The Hell is going on with them right now that they need to go back to their style of football. And Kyle Alan needs to rebound and I I liked Kyle Allen but I don't think think he's GonNa be like your Nick foles type guy. He's a high level backup. I don't think he'll lead them to the Super Bowl but once you get in the playoffs it's all fair game at that point. So that's the objective right now. Yeah new season starts over all right. So let's talk about some of the specific matchups. The one I think is pretty interesting. Here is the panthers defense because I I was reading about them. And you alluded to this. In the first half of PODCASTS. They are a little a bit of a `Nigma they are one of the best pass rushing teams as a matter of fact. I'm a think they lead the league in sacks they are one of the best pass the defense is in the league and they are. I think the one of the bottom three run defenses in the League when he started which is not yeah. Yeah it's it's really weird like you don't normally see that in so they're ranking puts them as like a middle of the road defense And it it's not like they're fourteenth against the pass and sixteen th against the run. It's like they're really good against the pass and really bad against the run. which is not a normal alignment? We see for defensive units. Obviously on the Falcons side of the ball the offense up until Oh this past weekend could not run the ball to save their life and now. We've Austin Hooper probably will not be playing because of a knee injury. devante Freeman is out either. Either Smith is out for the season and it just seems like this is it is the weirdest match Gotcha. I think we're GONNA see Sunday so Brian. I'll start with you here. I what is the story with the panthers. Defense is all of that true. You think some of his exaggerated you know. Are they missing guys like Cohen Short. Thomas Davis is that a factor here is it the change in the style of defense. What do you think is contributing to the sort of a `nigma? Ah That's going on and Carolina right now. I've noticed that. So they they. They allegedly switch to a three four. But it's more of a multiple defense. They run for three three or four depending on the game situation but ultimately they have lighter bodies out there who are guys. We're going to rush the passer who are a lot more athletic but in gap disciplined that becomes a problem when you have a team that is really the vote. It's running the football Brian Burns has been really good for Carolina. Bruce Irvin has been really good for Carolina. I know you guys know who know who he is yet. Gerald McCoy turned out to be a very good signing for them. But this team is basically built to rush the passer. And that's not great when you play against a team that can run the the ball in a game situation they can run the football I think they're missing K.. Want short a lot because he would have been another big body to put in the middle where now now. It's done Terry Po who has been average of defending the run. He's too and Gerald McCoy who has never really been a big run defender as their remained. Defensive Tackles in the defensive ends are a combination of Irvine Burns of Mario Addison. FAO bottle. These are all is is who are basically meant to rush the passer. Yes so I liked the fact that they devoted more of it to the late they they. They corrected the the fact that they couldn't rush the passer last year very effectively. But they're sacrificing the run game. They're honestly if you have that like low tier flex play a fan duel or anything like that. I would put the falcons starting running back there because this could be a game. Where he he ends up going for over one hundred yards on? And it's just because the panthers defense is is weird right now because Thomas Davis were both very successful because of the fact that they didn't have lineman all over them all the time time and now leuke estimate perfect reads shack. Thomson's been great but when they have linemen off all their faces all the time. They're not defensive lineman. They're not expected into be able to. You know put off tackle on his back all the time. So Yep from the standpoint of the rushing gaming it's the panthers defense we could see them totally rebound bound and figure it out. Cause that cause Ron Rivera. Has that weird ability to do that but right now they're.

"Through their national contacts not local contacts. That's been a given under this regime from the start. I mean the owner owned the radio station asian that i worked for for fourteen for twelve years all right. We were the rights holding flagship for that station and we never got anything from them. When they leak they leaked to national guys not local guys most of the reporters in this market know that and understand surprised that anybody would suggest the the possibility that the redskins would leak something through me or anybody else locally. They've never done it before certainly not through me and i don't think they ever will to be honest with you anyway. Anyway i stand by what i said yesterday and as i predicted it was in everyone's best interest to deny which is what i expected and that's fine. They should deny <hes> also by the way you know enough about that but i will also say that. I think they should trade him. I think it's clear that the the redskins may consider trading reading them and hopefully bruce will be patient and wait for a blockbuster opportunity. I actually think so far from my perspective. He's handling this pretty well. Oh but you know this has to finish well before any of us. Give give real credit to him anyway. Let's get to the game tech. They they attention kevin this game day. This was you know what they liked to refer to is. The all important third preseason game the dress rehearsal game which really actually gotten to the point where you know a lot of these n._f._l. Teams aren't playing starters even in this game anymore. The falcons did on offense and defense a lot of their starters anyway. Julio jones wasn't out there but you know calvin ridley was out there and hooper was out there and matt ryan was out there and so new is out there and mckinley was out there they they had a lot of their starters the redskins you know we saw the what we believe to be the starters right now as they will be pegged in on opening day against the eagles. Let me mention one thing about the eagles game. I said yesterday i think i said it on the podcast. I know i said it on the radio. Show i like the redskins in the opener against that's the hills and so i played them yesterday plus nine and what i noticed this morning erin is it was down eight and a half. There's some sharp money coming in on the redskins for the opener. It's not an indication of the way i feel about the season. I just think there might be an opportunity in week one anyway. The big takeaway from the game last night is that case keenum went out there with the starters play full half with basically the starters and then came out after halftime enjoying haskins went in and played with the backups and so that's a clear cut indication of john told me on the radio station yesterday her day and that is the case keenum is going is going to start or it certainly at the very least a clear indication that case keenum is ahead of joint haskins and so unless cole mccoy comes back and get super healthy..

And we're back on the falcons podcast with Gina Thomas. Eric Robinson and Kevin night talking about the falcons two thousand nineteen draft class. We just talked about high state quarterback kindle Sheffield who was taken in the fourth round by the falcons. Let's talk about their next fourth round pick. And now this Charleston defensive in John Kaminsky. This guy has some interesting attributes to him he. Am let you guys get to this in a second. But he is a big boy he's six five to eighty five to ninety in that range. He is the he's got the sort of the Bill that you know, the falcons like in their defensive lineman. He ran a four six nine forty our dashboard, which for that size is pretty impressive. Just over seven seconds in the three cone drill which is again, really good athleticism. This is a guy that even though the he didn't play at the highest levels in college. A lot of people five he could be asleep or pick for being a developmental guy because of just the sheer athleticism that is makes him stand out in the crowd. So Eric go you first on this guy. What are your thoughts on the falcons taking him? John Kaminski in the fourth round of the draft class require. Honest with you when it comes to the selection of Kaminsky, I was probably as equally excited about this pick as some people were with the first round picks along I think Kamensky is is a diamond in a rough and in the fourth round. That's when you start the teams take a shot on those were all players that you you can be able to moat later on down the line and Kaminsky is one of those guys like you mentioned he six five two hundred eighty six pounds ran a four six nine at the combine. But he also has seventy nine seven nine inch wingspan and he had a four point three eight twenty yard shuttle, which is incredible or a guy almost three hundred pounds. That's pretty damn the again, he's right now, I think he's, you know, strictly strong side divas event with ability to kick in on the interior on passing downs. In Russia in the interior like, you said the level competition is you know, it is is a big red flag to most teams, you know, when you look at the little bit of film that he asked he's dominating the Lebanon. He slowing office limelight. Right. Not to mention was a lot of people don't know as he came to the cost Charleston. As adults quarterback though. Oh, How? hell. Threat quarterback who two hundred ninety pound beef in who's throwing office of Lima left-right again, he's a diamond in a rough. I think you give him a year. And I would not be surprised if in a year from now this guy is you know, able to to create pressure consistently possibly get seven or eight sacks. I saw interesting comparison with him someone compared him to Jared Allah or Vikings defense event. And I think that's an interesting comparison because again both came from small schools both or low rough around the edges when it comes to their skill sets. But you know, given time they were able to you know, they were able to to showcase what they can do best in that's in its right and cause pressure. So get like, I said Comiskey should be, you know, level your expectations for me twenty nineteen. I think he will be potted a rotation in twenty nineteen but Wayne. Twenty twenty and I think we can really re benefits. Awesome. Ginny. Your thoughts on Kaminsky. You know, David. I love a good bargain. And if you're getting a player like Kamensky of late in the fourth round that is a bargain, I'm a big fan fills a need. I think his ceiling is very high. He has the athleticism in the speed that tan loves, you know, he loves people to be fast fastened, physical. That's kamensky..

"I mean going into the season, I think everybody bucks fans, look that the division and thought that you know, the bucks would definitely be the worst than then that the same of the falcons on the Panthers would you know, sort of battle it out for the top three spots, and they were all potential playoff teams the now boy the falcons on the Panthers are bad. And so that was unexpected. And not a lot of fun for anybody. And I do think it is worth pointing out that both teams have suffered injuries throughout the season. Some pretty significant, you know, the falcons injuries are pretty well documented the Panthers I think suffered quite a few on the offensive line very early in the season, which arguably could could have been a big contributor to Cam Newton's getting banged up throughout this season. So let's talk about this game though. This is interesting falcons are five nine the Panthers are six eight. So a win by the falcons, essentially ties them, but would put the falcons ahead because they would have the better NFC south records to the falcons with actually the. Have the potential to finish second in the NFC south, which I don't know that that's something. Either team wants this point because they're essentially playing the sells out of draft position if they win this game, but that's a completely different conversation. So let's talk about the falcons offense going up against this Panthers defense, and to me this is one of the this is interesting because Brian last week, even though it was a loss. The pit Thor's defense actually held New Orleans to twelve points in Carolina. They they really really stymied that normally high scoring explosive saints offense. So what was the story there? What finally clicked that that defense showed up in the big way against the division rival? Well, the secondary showed up number one. Dante Jackson had himself a really good game as the Panthers second round pick from this year. They managed to get forced turnovers. They got they had a couple on top of the. Two point conversion return by Dante Jackson, which turned into two points for the Panthers. Front seven wasn't all that great. They still managed to get after breeze a little bit. But for the most part, it was just a it was just a herculean effort by lewke cly who had one of his best games ever. And the secondary finally playing up to what they seemed like they had the potential to be earlier in the season..

"It feels like it's been a couple years, but not that dramatically but the team had lost five straight games. Which is a very long time in the football was five or six straight games. I think it was five straight because you had Cleveland cowboy saints ravens Packers. Yeah. It was five. It was really really dramatic slide from that Washington game. Which feels like it's been a long time since we remember that. They just they early November. Yeah. It was November four. It was it was rough. And it's been some time. We've been wondering what has been going on? They have been playing terribly end Sunday. Like, you just you know, how it's gonna go you kinda hope they'll play well, and they win by a lot. They won by forty two fourteen. That's a that's a lot of points. You know, I'm not much of a math person. But I can tell you forty is bigger than fourteen a different year. The falcons scored twenty six points by the first half us conclusion paste it out in the set for the third and fourth with touchdown each tell you win held the team that was visiting scoreless in the second third quarters and Bhagat garbage time touchdown but other than that. It's basically a complete and total shutdown a probably the worst team in the NFL. Let's not call the Oakland Raiders. But evan. No, you you saw what happened. You were surveying. What was going on with these falcons? What gave them the wherewithal to be able to win this game? I mean overall it was just a good team. It's like what you want from your team. The defense finally showed up which was nice Dion Jones had a pick six and then the defense finished with seven six total. So like, I mean, that's what falcons fans have been wanting all year, actually, probably all last year two was the defensive show up. You know, you kinda take it with a grain of salt, though, not to be Debbie Downer. But it was like you said probably I I mean, you can make an argument they're probably the worst team in the NFL like even even with you know, teams like the jets in the raiders cardinals might be the worst. But you know, like, I said grain of salt with this. But this is like the formula for what you expect. You know, if the falcons defense plays like this every week in the offense where Matt Ryan was you know, basically like his twenty sixteen. Self. I believe if you look at his stats from twenty sixteen compared to this year. It's like near identical main be better this year, but he had two touchdowns. And then he had that rushing touchdown. The run game finally woke up, you know, the falcons have had probably the worst. I know statistically, it's been the worst run run game this year and then Coleman like exploded for over one hundred yards and scored, and you know, even ITO before, you know, checking out he he got tears too. So then Julio having Julio days where like you don't even remember when you know, it was a thing before it was like oh Julio isn't catching touchdowns. Now. It's like he's got them every week. It seems like so he had a Julio day even just in hardy scored. So I mean it was like a perfect game. I know like a bunch of fans wanted the falcons detained for. Believe they were in the driver's seat for the third pick in the draft if they would've lost, but you know, you end up winning. And now, I believe you're the six or seven. So you know, you're talking about maybe an elite player either way. But at the same time you kind of want that high drastic. But at the same time, you know, you gotta feel good about a win. Even if it's you know, you would have been okay if they lost. Here's my thing with my you bring up a lot of good points. I think that it's fun to think about tanking, and obviously they lose this game. And the cardinals win they're probably looking at top three pick. I hate to be the guy that breaks it down for you..

"Gentlemen. Welcome to another fine. Addition of the post game podcast. My name is Corey Woodruff. Thanks for stopping by. The falcons are terrible. Unfortunately, at seems to be the case and falcon the now is the team stands at a very unsatisfying for an eight after quite a tumultuous year with injuries poor coaching even worse play and lots of annoying losses, which piled up the team has lost four straight. And they're trying to figure out exactly what's going on. What's working what's not working? And really what in the world. They're going to do as the last four games of the year began to enter as we get into December. So I'm joined by no stranger to the show. He's a good friend of mine a wonderful person to hear from with anything falcons related and the biggest Jack Crawford fan out. There has name is Evan burchfield. He's joining us today. Evan. Thank you so much for coming on. I appreciate having me on core. Yeah. We are always happy to have been on the show, and we'll have a special little of news about Evan. When we get done the recording this one, but you know, let's just get into this Baltimore game as much as we can. You know, what what to you Evan? Did you see about this game that really kind of showed exactly where this team is right now? I mean, everything was too bad like everything offense of line. Play was bad. The falcons run game was bad. Julio Jones was bad. Maybe not all his fault. But I mean two receptions for eighteen yards is not normally the production. You get from Leo Jones. Mahama's new had his first ever incompletion passing completion. So that pretty much sums it up. Yeah. I think that's just kind of the difficult part of where we are. Right now is that this team is an very languished place. They've just not exactly the naval to overcome lot of these injuries. And they've really kind of compiled down with really poor defensive play. And the offense really was good for half a season. And then in the month of November. They kinda began to taper out a little bit too that Washington game. And they've really just not been great. Honestly, the last couple of games, and it's been really kind of disconcerting to see them. Take such a sizable step back offensively under such a promising stretched there in September October in into that Washington game. But you know, I think right now, this is just a team that doesn't really have a spark. They don't really have just any sort of momentum going for them. And when you're working with little momentum. You're going to have little success..

"Well, if they're struggling or he can make them struggle because he's got some really good pass. Rush moves for being such a big player on the ravens. He's incredibly powerful. I remember his first year. The the broadcasters were showing just how strong is he's one of the strongest on the team if not the strongest he does head like a seven hundred pound squat video going around waiting. So he is a tighten up front and right beside brain Williams. Who's one of the best run stopping defensive tackles Li I think that's gonna be the big man to watch on defense. If not Marlon Humphrey just because of his talent at cornerback. And when Jimmy Smith's getting all the attention it's been Marlon Humphrey who's producing quite well. All right for me. I am going to go with demonic Z. I think the falcons defense is going to have any success on Sunday. They're going to have to hope for either forcing turnover or they're gonna need their safeties to come in and help with. Keeping an eye on Jackson and helping to slow down the run. And I think that's going to start with Casey who leads the league interceptions. He has been a revelation this year for the falcons after losing Ricardo Ellen's injury. And I think he is a guy that is is going to be absolutely critical. If the falcons have any chance in this game he is going to be the one to watch out for for the falcons. So I do on a think Kyle for joining us Kyle do have to tell you. Because again, our listeners will not forgive me. If I don't bring this up, but Willie Snead all you have to do is Google Willie. Snead Kiana Neil to see why Willie Snead may not be looking forward to coming back to Georgia anytime. Stole his soul is somewhere still in the the old Georgia Dome which has been buried so. I'm pretty sure I was there at the game when Willie Snead was murdered by county. Or is it a is it a bigger hit than the the the infamous Kam chancellor, Vernon Davis is. It is. It was Willie Snead survived. It's yes. I mean, he laid him out you could you late on that head? And this is coming from who's done nothing. But roast the falcons for yourself that is saying something, I you know, I believe you believe you have to look it up because it's it's the stuff of legend amongst falcons fans with the way key on the killing those been known for big hits. But that was what in where I was actually in the stadium when the hit happened when the hit happened. It was so loud. So audible the entire stadium went silent. Because everyone everyone literally thought that someone had been killed this. This was it. This was the this is the the murder in the most recent NFL era have been that have been something. Oh, mercy. So if you love big hits you've got to check that one out. Are big fans of big hits or defense. I don't know, man. I don't know if they wanna watch. We don't have the history of it. So before we get going. Preview in this game for you guys. The Atlanta Falcons injury report looks great pretty much the only people who showed up that worked in a full fashion. Derrick Shelby limited Muhammed. Sohn? New limited. Demonte Z limited Dion Jones LTd. Bruce Carter familiar face. Limited in devante Campbell. Limited all of those guys are likely going to play the the big name. There's going to be Dion Jones. This would be his first game back after suffering that a fifth metatarsal injury that he that he had the beginning of the year, you guys expect obviously this is kind of a tour question, but you don't expect Dion Jones to be a hundred percent the old Dionne Jones that we're used to write you kinda expect him to be a little bit heavy coming out game. So maybe just a a slower lesser snap game than we're used to from seeing from Dion Jones Dalton what do you think? That injury scares me. Not scares me. Because he's playing us. The Cowboys not us like I'm not a part of the team. But I coming off of it. Yeah. I don't really worry about it too much. I mean, he how he's been out for what nine nine weeks eight weeks nine weeks, something like that. It's seems quick doesn't it? Yeah. I mean just that injury. We've seen has has been has had a lingering effect on people. So I think that they're gonna kind of take it easy with him. So I'm not real worried about you know, how he's gonna play. I don't think he's going to absolutely ball out and be that old beyond Jones that we've seen because his game is predicated upon speed and quickness, and I don't think that he's gonna be one hundred percent to be that player. Coal. Are you all worried about Dion Jones in his his production that he's gonna have on Sunday? Do you think it'll be I'm not gonna say he's going to be a liability on the field. But maybe you'll have a player you can take advantage of due to his rustiness. Yeah. He could be a player that Cowboys could scheme against in try to take advantage of. He is good player when healthy we know it he can do. And he's one hundred percent, but yeah, coming off an injure this week and everything if you're playing the falcons in a later day didn't meet every story, but this week I wouldn't be too concerned over him. But I don't think he's a player you can just rule out of making a player to in a game. And I know they're all in limited fashion, but you can look at the linebackers for the falcons Campbell who's a starter. Jones who would be a starter if he hadn't missed most of the year due to the injury. And then like I said the familiar face Bruce Carter has played a somewhat of a role for them this year. All three of those guys are limited. So they're pretty banged up at linebacker in. They don't defend the run good to begin with. So that should boat right into what the Cowboys wanna do on offense. And that's run the football. You would think. So at least again, it depends on how they block it. It depends on how they scheme it. But you know, a team being not saying being without three of their best linebackers, but then being banked up that is a good sign for the running game. What they can do all the ground. But let's move on from this injury report. Let's talk about what's important. And that's how the Cowboys match up with the falcons again both of these teams coming in or. No, still guess you could say they're still technically individuals even though the falcons probably hurt of due to the saints being as good as they are. But both teams are still in the thick of things..

"And like, look I'd the big as a basket, and I think for him, especially with the with the kicker you have to be able to you have to have the confidence where you're not grind. And you're thinking about as much because once you start doing that then it because two much two months, psychological. And then you're gonna do you doubt yourself. And then also you have to do different things, if you you don't really have a lot of confidence in your in your kicker, some things you may not do which in the long run may help because it gives you chance to make make riskier decisions, you know, you mentioned that those points could have been costly against philli. Totally. Agreed. I also applying the proper context here. I think Brett deserves a pass to a degree on the key missed in Washington. Because it was the one at the end of the game after the snap and fraction penalty in whatever. So I mean, I'm willing to look past that one the more concerning Cape that he's missed so far was against Tennessee. That was that was no win that was early. Pour. It felt like everything was great. So while again, I don't think there's any need to smash the glass and pull the lever here. I think this does bear monitoring especially in a game like this. This is going to be a very very high scoring game. In all likelihood the Cowboys you're gonna need every single point just to keep track with the falcons again, they've scored at least thirty points in four out of their five games on the road this season. The Cowboys have not broken twenty-seven points. They just scored twenty seven last week that was their season high on the road. So if this gets to be game involved in the thirties right now logic suggests that the Cowboys don't necessarily have the wherewithal to to go blow for blow with the falcons. Let's let's let's let's not beating around the Bush. Let's pick this game. You know, because I think that we we believe in the Cowboys to degree, and it's I think before we pick. I'll ask you this. What is larger your belief in the falcons or your doubt that the Cowboys can actually put it together for a second week in a row? What what emotion is driving you more. Whether it's again, man, I really liked those falcons, dude. I don't know these countless other. I'm just like everyone else. I think for me it's the belief in the Cowboys because I need to see more need to see this team. Put two wins together in a row. And we haven't seen that we got we started with one. And and I guess the second point and probably why pick my bo- prediction was that Prescott have more passing touchdowns. And Matt Ryan because if he does get in the thirties and thirty fives that means this offense is going to have to push the. You know, put put the pedal and really accelerate on the offense aside the ball. And so to me that's kind of what I'm really am. I may concern is if you get into a shootout because that's what that's what the Val comes to. But I think more more AM real apprehensive. Because I doubt that I haven't Dallas not that. I have now I think they can I think they can do it will they do it. I don't know because we're lack of Vetter. Thanks. Thanks breakdown. There's things that they don't duplicate or they don't play up to that type of level. You know, things may go bad, and they changed their whole philosophy. There has really hasn't been a body of work consistency. So that's where my doubt is for is more. What else may do may not do? I agree. I I doubt the Cowboys more than I believe in the falcons. I don't know that the falcons are a good team right now in the National Football League. But I think they might be good enough team to beat the Cowboys because the Cowboys sometimes play down in situations like this. So it is time to pick. Why what everybody's calling?.

"So it really feels like this was the right kind of signing. Eric, I know you, and I had gone back and forth little bit about you know, who the falcons should assigned you'd earlier in the year. We were hoping they would sign some defensive help on the back end, maybe a safety or two or linebacker. Do you feel like now in hindsight that getting urban really without having to give up any picks just picking him up as a free agent, you feel that was a best case scenario for this team. Absolutely. We know that draft capital is a premium two two guys like Thomas Mitchell, Dan Quinn. So the option was on the table because rumors have rooms were Sperling couple of weeks ago that you know, the the raiders wanted to part with urban and get draft picks in exchange. So I me personally, I would not have minded giving giving Oakland of six round pick for urban simply because I didn't think they were actually gonna cut them. I think that that caught me that release comprise mill little bit known that they were gonna cut him at this point of the season. So once he was current. I mean, this is this is a prime example while why you can't dispel a player wanting to come home under favorable circumstances. You have more money in in New England more money pits. Herb it more money in Francisco, but he wanted to come home in wanted to play for hometown and to intake price cuts. So I know. Oh player all about the money. But we when we know situations like this circumstances like this. We can't really just brush it under the table and think of players go for the greenback's everyday. Gene, it on that note. You know, you've mentioned that he took less money to be here. How much of a factor? Do you think? The Dan Quinn was in urban wanting to be in Atlanta. I think it was just kind of perfect storm of things. I mean, Atlanta is home for him. He does have a great relationship with Quinn. And again, like, I think that you know, we've talked at nauseam about all the intangible things that I think makes them Quanta great coach and has built this into a release spectacular culture that players want to be a part of. And then also he comes in knowing the scheme, so he can really hit the ground running in this first week. I think that those are all really motivating factors. I think also if you look objectively at Atlanta's pass rushing Eric mentioned this by here, he has a potential to come in here and really be a star like really be a Sar because Vic I think he is still asleep. Somebody might want to check on them because it's been like since two thousand sixteen he's. On on there. But probably not good. I don't think you're I think you're supposed to wake up occasionally between now and then. No, you know, if you if you think about him on the field tack I think that could be a relief for medical situation or or toback. So I think that that's probably a draw to you know, I think that he knows he has tension come here and be sort of the linchpin in a defensive turnaround and manifest Dombak. Just I I mean, I don't even know what say about it. I'm so excited about it. And that's really the other exciting news. We got this week was Dion Jones has started practicing, which means he would be eligible to come back as soon as next week's game the game at home against the Dallas Cowboys, obviously, I think the falcons are gonna take their time easing him back in in Gina think we did find out that it was a broken foot. Right. That was the. Okay. So that actually I think is good news because breaks are usually pretty clean healing pattern that you can check on and not really run any risks as opposed to ligament damage or anything of that sort. So again as long as you have bone growth and everything I mean, a foot brake said he'll pretty easily as long as it's not too severe. We were worried that it was her toe, and it was turf toe that if it was her toe that was serious enough to require surgery that was going to be a totally different situation..

"So let's go ahead and move on and talk about some of the big news of this week heading into the game against the Browns, which will talk about and just a little bit. And that is the surprise or maybe not surprised. Signing of Bruce Irvin to the falcons roster on the one year contract a little bit confusing. People saw that he got a three point two million dollar deal that it's it's a three point two million salary. He will actually only be paid about one point five million by the falcons this year that will be his cap hit since he's only gonna be able to play eight games in the falcons uniform. But Eric I'm going to start with you first. You actually did a write up this week at the falcons dot com about Bruce Irvin. How he fits in this defense? A bit about how important do you think this signing is doesn't move the needle for this defense? Whether overall thoughts on getting urban in red and black. I I think is absolutely moves the needle for the defense. You know, it gives them that veteran closer closer at pass rusher. An s something that they really been lacking for or allow now, you know, they got tech McKinley who had a good start to the season. The last couple of games. He's been kinda quiet in the, you know, outside of gray Jared in jet Crawford getting pressure on the interior is really been nothing to write home about about the pass rushing department for the falcons, and of course, big Beasley is still taking a nap. For the past season in half. So bring him Bruce urban in my opinion, gives a team of veteran as Russia who has speed and who can play to Leo in mixed things up a little bit. I mean, there's a potential to have a very quick and fierce pass rushing combination on the field, especially third downs with tack in urban in Grady, Jared Jack Crawford solicited. Dan quinn. Does with this. I think he likes to have. He likes her have possibilities in. He likes the versatility at every level in defense and bringing in urban provides net. Yeah. Ginny. Your thoughts on urban being a falcon now. While you know, usually if I want the falcons ran a player, they're like LL now. And so this was one of those cases where I was like, hey, it would be just amazing. They picked up reserve in its position of need if he clears waivers. Maybe they'll be able to come for cheap because he has an existing relationship Quinn. I didn't think it was going to happen. And you know, I just thought that he would want more money than the falcons would be able to pay not even willing to pay able to pay and it turned out that he turned on more money or to come here. And that's pretty amazing. I think that speaks really wonderful things about what Dan Quinn has built in Atlanta. And I'm thrilled about it. I mean, he really could be the difference between this team being contender down the stretch. And not. And so I'm thrilled about it yet. And I think if you look at the next few games coming up falcons fans who had written off the season. I self included when they were sitting at one and four. They're four four they're going up to Cleveland, which looks like a very winnable game. Again, we'll talk about that in just a little bit. They come home to face the Cowboys. And then they go on the road against New Orleans, which is obviously one of the hottest teams in the NFC right now reasonably I don't think it's a stretch to say that the falcons could be six and four going into New Orleans and others a significantly better position to be in. So someone like Irvine could be the difference between. Shutting down, you know, drive for a team like New Orleans or a team like the Cowboys it before, you know, they're able to turn that into one of those long extended drives that's really sort of define the defense this year..
