"Was awesome. Officially a gate of seven yards, Samuels and Johnson off to the left, Smith, Schuster and Washington to the right, rob his burger out of the gun pumps to the right pressures coming rolls to the right. He's wrapped up in throws to the back of the end zone incomplete. He was just throwing it away. It'll be second down in three and Roethlisberger is limping as he goes back toward the huddle. That's Eric Ebron from the gun, drop this burger pumps to his left runs to his right runs and throws a wobbler incomplete. Over the head of Eric Ebron. It'll be second ago. Well, and that's what brought this for. It's funny. His feet are moving faster. It doesn't look like he's gay. Me all that much ground. I thought he could run. But maybe he couldn't like to the end zone on that one. No, I don't. I don't think he's got that in him at this point. By the way out. Here I am, you know, Sitting here 41 years old haven't played since I was 2027 28 being like he looks slow as I'm leaning back in my district couple years younger than me. Can the Pittsburgh Steelers Go Undefeated?

"Are see. We are forced to listen to quarterback so often in the world of nfl analysis. So i just wanna thank you for helping lead. The db revolution espn daily. Why does this happen. You guys finally invited me or it's your time man your old team. The steelers are right now. Undefeated and that is surprising. Let's be honest to a lot of people. So how surprising is it though to you. I think it's it's. It's more surprising when you actually watch the games It's obviously surprising. Anytime team goes through more than half of the season and their undefeated. But when you watch the steelers play the second half against tennessee titans even watching them to send the backup quarterback gets the denver broncos or be dominated upfront defensively the way they were against the baltimore ravens but still be undefeated. I think that's the fascinating part is not just that they've managed to win. Every game is just inside of those games. you seen opportunities for them to lose. But they've made the place that they've to. I mean you can even look at a match up against the dallas cowboys and say you know gary gilbert and the dallas cowboys may have deserve to win that game. But that's what this lied about was going to come down to one possession games. He's gonna come our critical situation though football moments and at least it does far. The steelers have found answers to any questions in those important moments. And this is why you sit undefeated. So how does this defense stack up. Ryan versus the steeler defense. Is that you played for that. You helped lead. What are the holes in this defense. You know what. I don't think they necessarily have holes in the sense of of those things being a negative right. He's looking to make a rush. The passer with just for the obviously can bring bring pressure make fitzpatrick ultimate playmaker on the back end and i think they have really good corners. But they don't have that great court but when you all those things together i think you get one of the top defense in the league especially when it comes to pressure and turning the ball over we. That's what football is right. Like people aren't going to hold you. Thirteen points like we did wait. Like that's not the ball we play it. You can't intimidate people like i would get fined and kicked out of every game. Five play james harrison fell six million dollars a year. You can't do those things anymore. But if you could get the ball which the pittsburgh steelers do know that really helps and that's why this team world season. Well i wanna get into the difference between playing football then versus now especially because offense is king these days as you implied right there so the defense is the big reason. The steelers are undefeated. The offense though i mean they've been relatively relatively average so can eighteen built around defense. Like the steelers are ryan. Can that sort of team win in the modern nfl. I believe they can. I believe they can. Because if you look at the individual weapons offensively like they are extremely. good I think you you're missing that one running back piece but we look at pool. Smith schuster the johnson. Eric ebron like that's a skill set or skill position that a lot of teams would love to have especially teams not named became the city chiefs. And so if you can do all those things on the outside like they can. You can score points. Also look at this team at critical moments though. Think about tennessee. Titans having to get a drive late in the game even though been was a reception late like they were able to the ball greg band. There's gonna prevail on the road. The pittsburgh steelers had the hold on dearly man. Hold on they do for the baltimore. Ravens they score in the second half and they were able to do that then back pop. For the end zone touchdown pittsburgh and all the out cut to the chase. Claypool man play. It just seems that all the critical point of the season it's offense has been able to produce down to like. I said the dallas cowboy game last week obviously exploiting a very bad bengals defense and well in a team like the cat city chiefs right and i say okay. One had the baby stopped him have to limit big play. The pittsburgh steelers can do that with rush. Plays on the back end right. Play play man when they need to stop the big click now. Let's go offensively the only time we've ever seen patrick mahomes lose. He was in the playoffs. He was standing across from another super bowl. Winning quarterback that was tom brady and rothlisburger. Isn't tom brady but he can do. Some of those things in important moments. And we've seen of do those. And so i think this team can most certainly went into as you mentioned chase claypool his nickname if catching on with you but maple tron. He comes from canada. He's this guy. I didn't know anything about. I wonder if you did because he has seven touchdowns in his first nine games as a pro. What has he brought to this offense. I mean you look at what this league is turning into. Because of the lack of physicality it's a it's a size speed league right like it's starting to they used to be. It didn't matter what happened in the shorts olympics at the combine like if a fast it didn't necessarily mean it was going to translate do can do certain things there did me but it's starting to mean that at the wide receiver position because of the rules. Like if you could flat out run you're gonna probably get open because they can't hold you. You pass five yards. They can't hit you across the middle play putin critic who has great hands he tracks the ball. Well he has a big body and so when you have all those things just translate we've seen chase claypool. You know kind of come out of nowhere. They just kinda have a knack for finding people that sit what they want to do and utilizing them in a way. That truly helps the team chase. Claypool is just another example of that

"Because it was keeping the offense on the field in a tight end. Who's doing that at that point? So that's a statistical category we can look at. In the future as well as being very important, and that's what the tight end position does, and that's what these guys do as well but desired desired stats for these two guys Michael. Alright so Eric Lebron's high receiving seven hundred and fifty. If he can pull off again I that would be an ending year, but with the weapons around When he did on the colts at, he was obviously their number, two target behind t. y Hilton so, is he going to be that high on this offense? No, so I think we'll see him float probably closer to six hundred yards if he can put up double digit touchdowns, it would break the record for tight end which was heath. Miller, with eight I think that's what he's been brought in to do so I think we're gonNA look if we can put up those double digits, this teams can be. Be in a really good place potentially even leading the AFC north, and considering who's in it I, that would be quite the accomplishment so out of out of Eric Brown if if he can be float around fifty sixty receptions, floating around six hundred yards, putting up ten touchdowns. I think that would be an outstanding year for the Titan but I could also see a world where he's closer to forty receptions, because that's typically where the steelers tight ends come in around I, could see him on the lower end, flirting with five, hundred, four, hundred five hundred yards somewhere in that range and some around six touch on sat. Like sure that'd be fine season, but that's not really what you want out of Eric even type on the flip side with Vance. McDonald. I still think he's going to suffer bit I do believe his career highs. He set them all in two thousand, eighteen with the steelers Let me put the stats here. So his career high years was your section six hundred ten yards, and those four touchdowns I don't think he's going. Going to come anywhere near that and I think what he did Kinda year ago. Something you probably will come in replicating again somewhere around thirty five receptions around three hundred yards, and a couple touchdowns here and there It's Kinda hard to say someone with that frame isn't going to get to isn't GonNa get looks in the Red Zone? But considering the guys at around I think there's just better options down there and he's. He's not. He's not scoring eight hundred touchdowns at one against Chris Conte that went down the sideline against the bucks at some anomaly just amazing play he made. I'm not expecting that in two thousand twenty, so I could see the combined totals I think Lebron's going to be on the higher side of what I said so and Vance right around that seven two hundred seventy five yards, so I, I think they're going to. To float roughly around nine hundred total yards around twelve touchdowns, and somewhere in the neighborhood of like eighty, five to ninety five receptions, which would be really good, but I don't quite see them doing as well as Jesse advanced it in two thousand eighteen, but I think the touch on will be a little bit more. The yards, maybe a little bit less and receptions kind of around power what they did in two thousand eighteen. But that was definitely a fun out answer and I appreciate that I'm GonNa, go with longer. I'm saying. Let's just average each guy at penny or purse. So I'm just copying out with that, so let's just go ahead. With a sixty five catches, six hundred and fifty yards, seven touchdowns for Iran, forty five catches four hundred fifty yards. Three to four touchdown catches for Vance McDonald that gives you eleven. Touchdown catches that gives you eleven, hundred yards, and one hundred ten catches in. That's going to break that record as as duo and I think that's really where you need to be. You don't have to be at seven hundred and fifty Iran, because of the weapons around him if he becomes your number one weapon, then you're going to have problems because you need. The tight end could be a complement. To the wide receivers You need him to be a Red Zone LEPPIN. But you don't need him to be leading this team in yards so as far as that goes. I really think that the tight end position is going to be. Very lucrative for the steelers this year, very productive as well, but the the one thing you need to look at is games played and I'm thinking if you average fourteen games. Between the two of them. So Wa. You have a fourteen from each. You you take off four four games to each for games total, and then you're GONNA be. You're still going to be in pretty good shape because one of them will get to carry the load for the other, and they're still weapons around. Yeah no I. I I agree with the sentiment there I think I think they can be healthy. Their numbers obviously are going to be a lot better, but if they're dinged up throughout the year, I am concerned. I feel like each and every week. If you see Vance NIEBUHR on that to injury report week in week out, they're going to suffer, and if Zach intriguing games that could that could be, that could be a factor. As is he getting the ball now? Is He blocking? Yes, so what? What's going to go on there? Like if there if there's a little bit Issues with with their health It's GonNa be a humongous factor heading into twenty twenty a again. I just cannot see them putting up these crazy stats with who is already around them. In this offense I think there's some names that are going to demand the ball. I think Deontay someone who's going to really take the bull by the horns is here in Juju. Juju I think he's going to bounce back a bit moving back in the slot seems like like a certainty, and of course playing with Ben Ben throws them open so frequently I think this receiving core is gonNA boom a bit and the Titans GonNa bust a bit just based on health, and who is really Kinda the focal point, especially in big. Ben's is. Great points all. So let's go ahead and go to questions. We've asked for them in the live chat and we have a few, so let's go rapid fire. I'm going to read the questions and I'm going to throw them to you. Michael and I might throw in my two cents if it's worth I don't know what my two cents worth in Canada. Above seven dollars I think. Thanks that's that's making me feel really good here. Let's start with. Nathaniel Giradi say. Are these next two years, Super Bowl or boss? Lake Gara editor Dave Scofield says team isn't in win. Now it's win always, but especially when with Big Ben if these are his last two seasons absolutely, they're gun in for the Super, bowl, but they gun for the Super Bowl every single year. I think I think especially these next two years because you don't know what the quarterback situation is going to be in twenty twenty two I. Think I think these two years are ones that you're gonna see this team with their best odds in A. A while if if they find a quarterback they draft one. That's absolutely cheap. That's five years. We're not paying a quarterback. Forty to fifty million dollars is what we're GONNA. See moving forward here. especially with the mahomes Jackson deals coming through the pipeline I. Think I think of course these are super bowl years where they should be contenders and then moving forward. If they can find someone, they will continue being tenders, but finding someone's a challenge. You don't just find a franchise quarterback year near out. Spill let me Go ahead and take the statement because I agree with you I, agree with Dave Scofield to appoint. So limp if I just go ahead and change the statement. Then I think that we could all agree that. That's what we're looking at. Are these next two years. Stupor, bowl or keep trying. That's what that's what I think instead of buses to keep trying because I agree with that, they're never. They're never stopping, but with these free agent acquisitions and the trade bringing Chris warmly as well. They brought guys in. Most of these deals were the biggest one was a three year deal other. The other two was new ski and on two years two year deals I believe there's one year left on Abraham on warm contract as well maybe two, but I think only one one year I'm so with that being said that fits in the Super Bowl window that two year window with Ben. Rothlisberger and I think that's their building for now, but they're not hamstring themselves for the future. So that's why bust is out the. So they can keep on. Keep on forging on. They're not killing themselves beyond two thousand, twenty one so in two thousand and twenty two. They're not, they're.

"McDonald was with the steelers. You gotta give a guy a little bit of a pass. He only played ten games for the steelers he came in. Right at the end of the. He came in. Via Trade with the San Francisco Forty niners two days before the last preseason game, and we've seen this over the years especially with Ben Rothlisberger you bring a guy in the does not have a a full training camp with him. You don't have that report towards the end of that two thousand seventeen season especially in that playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was he was a force. He had over ten catches in that game against Jacksonville. You could tell that the report was there. So you know as far as I'm concerned, you gotta give them pass on that. Let's look at two thousand eighteen in two, thousand, nine, thousand, nine hundred. How many games do you think he had combined? How many games do you think he missed? Our believe he missed. Six a year ago and then I think one the year before so I think he's floating around twenty five games there. You're correct on two thousand eighteen. Fifteen. He appeared in fourteen gains in two thousand and nineteen didn't feel. Really a lot of people because there were a lot of games there were a lot of weeks leading up to games where he you didn't know whether he was playing, and he was on the injured list, but he ended up playing in those days, and he was active for those games and you got to thank when when men went out. In Week two against the seahawks Mason Rudolph comes in. He was. He had two touchdowns in that game. He looked really good, but then things fell off. And I don't know of was due to him. I don't think it was due to him. I think it was due to the unrest that quarterback position and no report. Usually you're tight. End Does help you out, but in the situation he didn't. The net was brought in and the neck was. Had No report either. It seems like he is a disgruntled guy. He was disgruntled in Seattle. He was disgruntled on this time with the Pittsburgh. There was really with the situation. Was He never got on track and he was never really targeted, so that could be. This could be the result of not having enough as according to your last year when your offense coordinator is has his elbow in a slink. Because that's it randy feet. Ner did not know how to get involved last year, and I set it all last year and I'm GonNa. Continue to stay this year. You have your offensive coordinator back because you didn't have a randy land. Because he was overmatched, he was brought in because Ben. Roth wanted him to. You wanted him to come in and get the position because Ben. I don't WanNa say he knew he could. Boss around Ben was comfortable with them and knew that he could play his game and not have the clash like he did with a hard-headed Todd Haley so that's really why he was brought in. That position was never posted. It was just one thing all right. We're moving this guy in. They didn't even consider anybody else. You move your quarterback coach in in. That was to take care of your quarterback when your quarterback goes down, you are at a huge disadvantage, and that's what happened with the Randy feet in her situation, so a lot of stats offensive stats that fell off last year. I'm they. They are due to a lot of things. They are due to the fact that the quarterback. And to untested quarterbacks in there. You have the fact that there are injuries involved also with Juju James Connor with a even McDonald a lot of different things, and you have the fact that you have I. don't want to call them in an apt play caller, but a guy that was overmatched last year. And that's the bottom line and I can't say enough, but you still have a team that was in position. With all those factors. To make it into the playoffs. The last three weeks of the season, the last two weeks of the season, and even with some help last week of the season, and they could not get in because they lost all three of those games three games that they really would have won if they had. Another quarterback in their three games that they might have even won. They would at least one one or two with Mason Rudolph in there as well. I can honestly say that in my mind. That's what I think still when you're looking at that, you can't count two thousand nineteen. Too, much and you gotta take it with a grain of salt statistically. This is a new year with Ben Rothlisberger. His healthiest if he is. Then you're going to have a whole lot more as far as stats in the way I'm looking at this with Vance in Hebron together. They should definitely be above a thousand yards. They should be pretty close to one hundred catches and to go against your point. If they could come pretty close to those numbers with Jesse James in there, who does not hold a candle Eric Hebron. As far as a receiver. And Vance McDonald who I thought was be better receiver. Then you're going to you. Find a way to mix them in and Ben Rothlisberger knows how to mix those guys in so much more than you're going to have a healthy tight end situation as far as stats go combining them into one. Right now like in that sense completely agree if they're if they're able to they're able to. Juice up that pro- productivity healthy like the they should be able to do some stuff, but again like I am super concerned about that health factor if they. This was one of the huge things is pretty much everyone on that offense. Year ago, Mr Game missed half like the they were in and out so. Maybe Matt Canada's influence. Maybe you see a little bit of motion. These guys bump around a little bit. Maybe Erkki Brown lineup. Like to your point, Big Ben is a huge influence on this offense, not not only bringing guys in, but the distribution of this ball. If it's up to hint, he'll throw six hundred and fifty times in twenty twenty, which probably wouldn't be a good thing for his depending on what it was. I guess we'll never know what the surgery really is. And maybe maybe after he retires, you might spill the beans, but Do you really want that much wear and tear on that elbow over the course of one season, and then possibly the playoffs? Could he have just a wet noodle of an arm? I don't know if that's what you want so I think we desperately want to get those running backs more involved than the tight ends like I think we're going to have to get the get. The those guys more involved in the blocking in use of decoys should be also one of those super important factors just because. If Ben Storing that much I think it'd be. It wouldn't be a good thing for this team. It like they should be winning a lot of these games like twenty, one, ten, twenty, one seventeen like. If if they were putting up twenty one points a year ago. They probably wouldn't at least eleven games. If if that's what it came down to so with Ben Coming in I think that's going to be enough but Will these tines be the focal point of the offense I. Don't think so I think the is receiving core is just too good and I think they're going to have to hand off the ball. If so even more than they did last year, and hopefully pick up some more first downs, because that was one of the biggest issues especially in that first possession of the game so. I I'm hopeful that this tight end core can be better, but I'm not holding my breath on it. Okay! Let's wrap tight end talk with this last election cycle. Let's go head input. You. Desired totals for each guy. Let's start with Eric Hebron and then go to Vance McDonald and I'd like to have your opinion. How many? Let's just say let's catches. Let's talk more yards, okay? And let's talk more about touchdowns as well one think before you get into that one thing that we did not discuss a lot. In moving the Danes in first downs in the tight end position. Asleep and heath. Miller was paramount in getting first downs. That were so much more. In my mind than touchdowns at that point..

"What washed, so we want to find out where Netflix's epic and how they plan to win the streaming wars. They've outmaneuvered everyone in Hollywood for fifteen years and. My guess is now keep out maneuvering everyone. This land of the giants, the Netflix's effect from recode and the VOX media podcast network, the first episode jobs June twenty third listen and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah no I I I I would have to agree especially with this defense. It's almost like we just have to do enough to protect the ball. We have the we have the weapons. If we WANNA score on every single drive we can, but we don't have the force the ball so I think the combination of how good this defenses and what they're going to limit opposing offenses to do, and then how good this offense can be in a sense of they could really just hold on the. The ball take some time off the clock I think the combination of the two. This team should be competing ring if they don't I feel like this completely on coaching or Ben's elbows, just completely shot, and then they pitched it and didn't. Tha didn't find someone good, enough or Mason. Rudolph income continued to develop as a backup so it it will be interesting, but the combination the Oh and d. they should be. They should be a team. That's really WanNa reckon with and twenty twenty here. That is definite Michael that they could be one to be reckoned with I'm glad that's something you mentioned the the reason being and I always talk about the team concept and this could be. This is looking a lot more like team. Kumai, and we talk about teen to A lot last year. This could be a team that is together. And I think they value production. From players, but knowing where it's coming from look, you don't have to have that thousand yard season. You just have to be producing touchdowns, and you have to be making it happen, and that's something that I really think they're going to do so. If you look at that that goes into my theory that the combination of two tight ends to make one super tight end is really what you have to look at as stats. A lot of people don't realize this, but if we go back to two thousand eighteen. And Look Jesse James. Who Nobody's going to mistake for an all pro? But he was very solid, and people always talk about. Hey, we'll Jesse James come back after one year in Detroit. People were talking about that this year. If he's available with the steelers, bring them back. At this point now, but hey, they've done that in the past. You could see that actually I could see that actually happening maybe. Two Thousand and twenty, one of Vance does not resign with team. Will what I'm looking at here is if you combine Jesse James, Events McDonald from two thousand eighteen their numbers. The steelers had one. One Thousand Yard Receiver. and. Almost one hundred catches, so let's look at this these numbers you had Jesse. Given you four hundred thirty yards. Excuse me forty three yards four. touchdowns, four three touchdowns Oh my gosh. I am really I'm really been. Last night. That trust me. It wasn't that good Just a boring married guy now. Let's try this again. He had forty three catches. For twenty yards. touchdowns forty-three record. He's going anywhere. You combine that with Vance McDonnell and Vance McDonald had seventy two. He had seventy two targets fifty receptions, so that ninety three receptions between the two six, hundred ten. That's one thousand and thirty three yards and four touchdowns to. That's six so what you're looking at here. At this point, you're looking at a hundred and thirty, one thousand thirty three six touchdowns ninety three receptions. If you're getting that out of your tight end, that's pretty good, and it doesn't matter if it's too is. As long as you're tight, end is giving you live on numbers, and there's no reason here. In my mind that Ibran advanced can't do that together if they're healthy. What are you thinking? who a healthy year between the two I feel like they'll be a lot of touchdowns, but those games missed. I feel like that stat is going to be one. That actually is one that we might overlook because both these guys haven't proven that. They're gonNA. Make it through sixteen games will I know Lebron's done it in the past, but coming off a pretty substantial ankle surgery, which halfway through the year he wasn't cleared until like two weeks ago. Own Assay, so it's going to be a factor and then Vance obviously in and out of. Of the lineup if they can, if they if they both make it through the year, could they combine for thousand yards? I feel like that's possible. Just based on Ibran being more of a receiver then he is a tight end. He's just really really big, but I feel like the stats are probably going to be similar to what we saw from Jesse advanced, but the only thing is can be healthy. Can they make it through that? If they do then sure I feel like I feel like they'll do all right, but. But with with the targets what we talked about earlier. I think VATSA someone. WHO's GonNa? Take the hit. I! Think he someone that probably won't see. A ton of targets just based on how they're going to rotate their players if they're having five on the field. Vance isn't going to be out there. if they're running. They're heavy sets. He might just be someone who's used a blocker. So I feel like the person who's most likely to take these statistic hits is Vance McDonnell and he's in the last year of. Of his contract if if he doesn't put up, he's not coming back next year so I think he could interestingly enough be one of those guys just of Fades into oblivion in twenty twenty If that's the case, then, maybe it's just Lebron's stats. He might be. He might do a Nick Van. It did a year ago. which I believe was in the neighborhood of twelve receptions, hundred thirty three yards over sixteen games on both on both the seahawks and steelers combined. If he does that then I feel like everyone's just going to be. A imagine the Internet because they will be complaining. Get this guy out of town. Do not resign him so if he is if he's the guy that takes that hit I think the stats are going to be deflated a bit. I could see world where the combined stat totals right around five hundred yards, but I still see just kind of what they can do in the red zone I can see them floating around ten touchdowns. That's what you bring brought in for, but. A lot of drops, and at a few receptions, yards, and I think we should not relatively expect from them. I'm glad you said that Michael because I could not agree with you less. And I'm so glad because it's a homerun hitters show. We need to disagree on this but we don't have to. Just because it's named that show, we don't have to agree, but I just disagree with you for a few reasons. And I saw it I saw it on the live chat before you said it. And then you said it about how unhealthy Vance McDonald has been with the Pittsburgh steelers. You the first season. The Vance.

"I do think that we do have to bring this up. Without East Kennedy hundred and ten targets and sixty five catches. How many drops did he have? I was getting ready to look that up Dave Shipley another great contributor to our show this sixteen drops so that's something that I was going to go ahead and look up a while. I was speaking, but you know I'm multi tasking problems that I have so thank you. For going to bring that up. You live with sixteen drops. I don't have a problem with that. Mets that's something that you know. Drops are going to happen in this league. You're going to have Especially when you're a tight end, I mean that does happen, but you're still going to have a lot of opportunities in the red zone with him, and you're GonNa have a lot of opportunities with Vance McDonald. Vance McDonald has had drops as well, but however when Vance McDonald is on the field with Ben Rothlisberger. He's very stolid, tight and option, and I would actually think that he is A. Is a higher. Higher Quality of tight end that they've had in a long time. He's probably the best since he miller is as well. But they can hear Michael Bear with me on this. Let's combine stats. Reason I'm going to combine stats because if you look at everything. You, look around this team. Stats are going to go down. You'RE NOT GONNA. Have the sexy stats with a guy with you're not gonNA. Have Antonio Brown type numbers with a guy. You don't need to have one guy getting everything and the others hoping to get some numbers in looking down because you know you take. One of these guys put them on another team. They're going to do so much better with Ben Rothlisberger having four really good receivers another one in Ryan Schwartz that he trusts. There's he's going to have to spread some baller balls around. Not Everybody's GonNa be happy. Not Everybody's giving be. AM over a thousand yards, but if you have five guys between the ranges of. Seven hundred and twelve hundred somewhere there some are going to be lower. Some are going to be higher. You're going to have a great. Receiving stable there so jujubes numbers are not going to be thirteen hundred. Beyond, Johnson's aren't going to be thirteen hundred as well beyond might not be over, but if you get nine hundred and you'd get twelve from Juju maybe I'm just spitballing James Washing. It's six or seven hundred. Shake label gets five or six hundred as a rookie. And the titans are getting. There's you're doing well. So what do you think about stats? As far before we get into the combination here yet, you know if. You take things into consideration we can. I think we can safely say there's no way this team's going above five thousand passing. If that's the benchmark, even a completely healthy Ben, he'd. Re does what he doesn't two thousand Eighteen Y- when you factor in all those names, especially when you consider his love of Ryan, Switzer under the middle will pick up a couple of hundred yards if he does what he did a few years ago. It's hard to imagine that there's GonNa be a ton of thousand yard receivers. There might be one. There might be too, but I think you're gonNA see a Lotta guys floating around that seven hundred yard range because there's so many. Balls to go round there. There's just not going to be those opportunities, but I think when it comes to tight end specifically we saw last year. They should have been used more of course given up that fifth round pick for Mr Nick Bennett at which was a complete waste now that he believed for nothing when you're looking at a year ago when they seriously coulda used those tight ends, they didn't. If that's a game plan thing, or that's just a mistrust thing with the QB's. It was a A. A little frustrating me when watching this team, if two tight ends at they obviously believe in because they're using them a lot of course, Vance was in and out of a lineup but van. It wasn't getting the ball. They weren't throwing the. We're not throwing these guys a ball, so if if they cannot build that trust or rainy features, not gonNA call any place at or kind of designed to tighten. It's easy to imagine a world where stats aren't as great as we can expect them to be. And why would that matter? Michael Back in the reason I'm asking that question. Is You look at teams that have running back by committee? And they're making the super bowl. They're winning the Super Bowl. You don't always have to have a thousand yard rusher to get in there. That's what I'm saying, so if you have a lot of high end numbers, but they're not glamorous pro bowl members who cares if you're winning a writing and this is a team that could win a ring as a team and not. Having just. Divas right, so that's that's what I'm looking at here. They've seen us through a huge revolution. In how we think about content, it's just changed everything about the world of entertainment. I'm Ronnie. Mola and I'm Peter Kafka and we're hosting the new season land of the giants, the Netflix's effect. We're exploring all things. NETFLIX's by talking to the people who started the company. Wear and that Really Cool Jersey Mike Show that off my friend, Oh yeah, here we go. We're rocking that T. J. Watt Pro Bowl Jersey just just a really clean version of I'm super. GLAD TO FC didn't end up wearing that that kinda gross mustard yellow-faded Yellow Jersey that the NFC work. I definitely wouldn't have got it. That was the case. When I saw them rock and needs to say Oh, if that if that comes online, I think I'm going to have to spend a little. A couple of these Canadian dollars which were the Bankcard, but. Very. You're always saying Canadian dollars. Refill for you man. I am rocking. A steelers shirt from the X. L. Super Bowl L. Collection I had bought an purchase Oh many shirts that put away. And after that Super Bowl I have a bunch I have about twelve t shirts that I just put away never war, I'm like you know what I'm GonNa. I'M GONNA start breaking some of these out because we're going to do with them, so this is One of the official Reebok t-shirts from them, and as I always lake to you A. Sport. My steelers stuff the other day I was wearing just a ablution and I felt pretty bad and Michael made me feel bad. Dave made me feel bad, so it was a really Nice Martini t shirt, Martini, but now A. Cabana wear type Kramer shirt, but I took it off and I rocked the steelers so with that being said. We're glad to hang out with you on a Sunday, or whenever you're listening to this show on the BT. SC, family of PODCASTS, featuring on none other than myself. Michael Beck Lance Williams Tony Deaf Yell and don't forget the editor behind this curtain. Dave scofield his brother. Rich also joins along the SCAB. Geek as well so. Dave is already in the live chat, saying I didn't say a word, so it's all on you Michael. He's throwing you under the bus. Is there or do they have? In Canada it has something other kind of transportation besides a bus. would tip typically. We'd just ride a moose to school, but. I learning so much. I don't know with a a trolley or whether it was a certain Australian and like Yeah I. Just go. I mean okay yeah. Yeah. You, never know so you may. Oh, my Gosh, you might be given. The nickname moves, so we we. We can't do that. So with that being said. To the show. And I am so excited about the fact that. In so much about Ben Roethlisberger lately and Ben Rothlisberger coming back will host of weapons now some may say that you know and they're saying that the season really hinges on the fact that Ben Roethlisberger needs to stay healthy, and that is a given. We all know that but. If you go forward and look at all the weapons he has. It's great to have, but does the too many weapons. Now, we're not going to throw away any of the weapons. We're glad, but are there enough. To go around especially at a certain position, and that position that we're talking about this year is one of the definitely needed them upgrade and definitely definitely got upgrade, and that's the tight end position Michael Beck let's talk about those tight ends. Right you know with the addition of Eric Brown. I think we're all surprised in just a really good way. Especially when that contract came through of course, he battled that ankle injury that she will. He shot himself down Whether or not what side I guess, we tend to believe it. If as the colts Sir with them. Of course, there's a little bit of animosity there. But there was that divorce there and Pittsburgh got the benefit of the doubt here in one of the one of the best tight ends in two thousand, eighteen on a really good deal and then of course, incumbent Vance McDonald just. I guess one of the greatest highlights in the last. Half Decade that stiff arm on Chris Conte is going to be played over. And over of course his birthday was yesterday, so birthday Vanson that that highlight will be played forever anytime. You talk about Mr. one animal. Vance McDonald so Going into this year. They have some depth that a position. Where have they ever had? A number to like is solid. I'd say Vance's probably that number two guy right now I'm. has there ever been a guy that kind of good as a number to tighten, even Heath Miller didn't really have a running mate that was outside about block for sky, so it'll be really interesting year with the with the talent and the skills of this tight end group. That is for sure, so let's stop and talk about that first thing that you said about. You're not sure what side of the coin who what signed to believe as far as Iran and the colts that that messy divorce now here's something that I can say I actually don't have a lot of respect. For the Indianapolis Colts as far as a franchise goes now what they've done and especially in the in in years I really. I really appreciate what there and yet Reggie Wayne. Of course you had Marvin Harrison Yo Jeff, Saturday. You had some great. You really handsome some great players there, but as far as an organization goes. I didn't like the way that they treated. Peyton manning on the way out I, just didn't. Feel that it was like all right. What have you done for me lately, Bill? And then he's gone. I understand. It's a business, but there's a Lotta things about the colts that I. Just don't I. Think it's a Rinky dink operations and it starts with the owner. Mr Earth say I just think You gotTA understand I'm a Maryland resident. I was not a Maryland resident. I was a Pennsylvania resident on March thirtieth of Nineteen eighty-four when they just completely jerk. Baltimore and the state of Maryland and really us here as a steeler fan, I feel like they jerked us over when they loaded everything into a M-. MAYFLOWER truck and took off in the middle of the night and broke the heart of that team. Because when you think about it, that could very well happen to any franchise. Luckily, the steelers have owners like the Rooney's that you don't worry that about worry about that as much, but the reason I feel like it affected the organization. Could you imagine?.

"We can see we've got years we can hear we hear the things that you consistently. Do. We know you're not great leader. Here's where you're wrong when you are the fucking quarterback. It is your job to criticize and to coach the players around you. So he could have said a little bit more tactfully that look as a quarterback. I'm the coach of this team. I'm the coach of this offense. Specifically, I need to make sure everybody's doing their job correctly. And they're lining up where they're supposed to be. And I'm the one that has to hold these guys accountable because outside of the coaches the people that are on the field. He is the coach on the field. He is the one that knows what everyone has to do. He's the one that can see where everybody is. And he's the one that has to hold them to that standard. So being the quarterback that is part of your roles and part of your responsibilities and doing that. I think like you said he is earned the right, but not because of anything he's done or. Said he's earned the right because he is the quarterback. And that role is expected to be the guy that criticizes and holds everybody accountable publicly. Are we talking about behind closed doors? We talked about in the media. I'm talking about. Anyway, he sees fit to get his men motivated to do what they are supposed to do on the field. I disagree. I think. Yes. Behind closed doors. Call him out get him. Right. Get the team. Right. Do what you gotta do. But I don't think he's earned the right thing about been Rothlisberger is even if he has earned a right? Let's say you're right, Joe. I'm completely wrong. And everything I'm talking about is based on the fact that I was Cincinnati Bengal and Cleveland Brown, and I don't really like to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback that much right? Let's say where this is all rooted been Rothlisberger has believed this since day one. There's never been a time and been Rothlisberger life that he hasn't felt like he had the right to criticize somebody whether that'd be the organization when that'd be the players whether that be the city, whether that'd be the situation whether that be anybody who ever calls him out on the BS that Ben Rothlisberger brings all the damn time. That's the prob. Home with me and been rothlisburger. I get it again. He's a great quarterback. He's a great leader. All of this seems are good. He's a hall of Famer. But at some point like can we please hold him to the standard? We hope everybody else to like my buddy is trying to be a high school coach, right? And the high school coaches in high school team, isn't that good? And he asked for my I'm not a coach, you know, what I'm saying. I've done a little college football coaching. But I'm not by any way, shape or form in the position to give you head coaching vice and he says was the first thing I should do with this team as far as off. It's a scheme. What are your look man is high school football? If you get all the players to work as hard as they can't, whistle whistle. You'll increase your winds, double whatever, they went is whatever the talent level as whenever their intellectual one allergies. If you get in the work, hard, whistle whistle go all out full plays. They'll double whatever wins. They had last year so start there. He's like, well, how do I get them to do that? How do I criticize them in a way because it's it's? The area where guys aren't really into football. And if you're too hard, and they'll quit. And it's if people know that you give shit about them at these kids know you care about them. They won't mind you criticizing them. Because they'll understand that the end goal is. I'm trying to put you in a better position in life been rothlisburger. I don't feel like his team knows that Ben cares about them..

After really good sacks. I've given him the award of the best Amish QB in NFL history. But I'm just wondering if Andrew luck has ever been mean if he's ever sworn or ever looked frowning Lee upon anybody on the team. Oh, yeah. I mean, no, he's he's he doesn't look down upon anybody. He doesn't, you know, he doesn't like, you know, like, I hate you goofy le- let that's That's you you know, know, that's. that's not help. But Cussing and be like, he's a goofball. He says so funny joke sometimes cusses, you know, when he wants when he wants when he wants us to pick it up. Oh, you'll know. Okay. I like that man. He seems like he's in a word of his own another question. You fans are asking what should they chant? Whenever you score. Touchdown. You score. So many damn touchdowns this year. It pissed me off a little bit. And I'm not even usually this guy but Foster's been arrested for domestic violence three times in the last year. You don't even let it go through its due process. You just so worried about football. And you know, you go on this guys you care about how represented community is football players. But at some point you have to draw the line and hold people to a standard, man. It's the fact that again he is still in the National Football League that quickly. This is a guy who got arrested at team hotel. And it wasn't that the incident happened somewhere else. "Can you tell all the listeners out there a little bit about Frank, right? And what his influence has been on you personally. But also that offense and the job that Andrew luck is doing this year in any well Frank has over a lot of coaches is years and experience and not by like coaching by playing you know, he's he's been in the game. He understands what we go through. He understands the the changes he understands the nuances of different things that are happening him, Andrew, speak the same language. I think that's the biggest thing is because he's been a quarterback. And now he's he's with a quarterback that is an absolute genius. And Frank right himself is an absolute genius. So you I mean, you sit in the team meeting room or an office of meeting where to say, and you listen to them. So token, you out tell me what the hell we gotta do because we don't know what I was just talking about. That's how that's how into they are. And Frank Goodman. He's he's such a players coach. He understands the game. He knows what we go through. We can come to him about anything. Hey, Frank, man. I see this. You know, if you call list, you know, we we can make it happen afraid believes in us. And I mean, that's hard to find a coach that, you know, wants to jump out of his old ways. Or, you know, you know, believes what he believes rather than the players befriend believes in us and allows us to go out there and play the game and tell them what we see and we make those changes, and we do things and he's a player coach, man. It's just great. Is there anything in his offensive scheme? That's just different than anything you've seen before. No. The only thing the only thing he does differently is he's I mean, I obviously I go give away. You know, what he does everybody? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Figure it out. You know, what I'm saying is it's pretty much when you get out their cigarette out. That's that's how that's how I feel like it would be if I play defense against us. It's like, holy okay. What the heck mix? That's all says like it's so much fun to be in so much fun to play. And then when you're going through it, and you're like, oh my God this player's to like it's like that play of like that's how that's how it is. Now, he clearly has like a unique coaching style for somebody like me and Hawke who haven't played for them. How would you describe that coaching style to somebody like us? Okay. So me, obviously, you guys are both great players there veterans in his game. I did I'm I'm I'm this is what I want. This is how I wanted. You do you. But do it within the lot do it within these lines? These I want you to work. Hard. I want you to be hard nose. I want you to play your butts off, you know, what I'm saying. But I want you to how fun enjoy and never change the person that you are don't change you for me. I want you to change. I want you to change help us change while still being you if if that makes sense you hit. That's that's that's that's all he's asking for. He doesn't ask for anything else. Just help just do your job and have fun while you're doing it be yourself. Do you think that's the reason why we're seeing such great plan to Andrew luck right now? Exactly, he allows allows Andrew to you know, set up everything Andrew pretty much everything is ran through Andrew, right? I mean, that's your quarterback. But Andrew is able to make adjustments Andrews able to do the things that he goes to work. And if it doesn't then he he'll come back to Sonesta. Hey, frank. I saw this could be like, you know, I get it. If it works. It works. If it doesn't it doesn't trace like, hey, you know, you you're playing you're the one that's saying I'm gonna call the play. You're the one that's playing do you think everyone always says that about quarterback? They're like coaches wanna feel but my experience in no offense is not anything bad against the quarterbacks that I played with it never really felt like they were coach they never really felt like they had the authority to say I want to run this or that..

"It's a it's a video. It's highlight film. It's a boxing movie. No, you know, how Bill Belichick motivates. He gets fifty three pupils in front of him. And he shows video of all those guys fucking up in practice in the games. And he humiliates you in front of your peers to the point where you're so afraid of that moment, you're going to raise an elevate your preparation, and you're going to raise an elevate your performance because you're so afraid of being humiliated in front of your peers and you're motivated, and you're afraid of losing your job you're afraid and motivated that you're gonna lose your income and your ability to. Wow. Provide for your family that you're going to go out and perform as well as you possibly can. And that's the type of motivation that never gets old. And that's why when your rookie, and you got Pete Carroll, given the raw speeches it works. But we heard Richard Sherman on the Tomahawk show this spring talking about those speeches get old. But the thing that never gets old is fear. Fear. Never gets old Joe you just might have put we might have to write a damn coaching book. Often that one word alone. Jeez. Fear doesn't get old. That's the only motivator that doesn't expire man. I'm at a loss for words. Yeah. We're quickly. Flacco should get traded to Jacksonville in the season. That makes sense. I like that. I like Lamar Jackson your starter trade flacco to Jacksonville in the off season. Look at that perfect. Timing phone is ringing in and joining us here on a Tomahawk is the number one tied in in the NFL possibly NFL history. My dog Eric Ibra, Eric what's up, man? How you doing? How you doing? I'm good, man. You're killing it leading the league in touchdown receptions. How does it feel? The fun, especially like, you know, with the quarterback the receipt like everything's just fun man Edger has been great office coordinator, head coach, everybody's been great. And I'm basically just going out there and just make things happened just making plays on my number's called. And again, it's fun. It's just been a fun season. It started off rocky which made it more fun. When everybody realized you know that winning you know, we kind of have a young team. So when winning became, you know, a thing everybody kind of bought in and it made his journey. A lot more adventurous and we having a blast what it right now. So you killing it on the field. What do what are you point to? That's been the biggest difference for you from Indianapolis to Detroit. It's at your personal life. Is it on a field of coaching the dissertation? What is Elvis in my personal life has changed? I get married. I got a kid. I got another one on the way. So my personal life isn't as an adventure outside of football right now. I've just I've just came in. I just came in here with a firstly came here with some coaches that was like, hey, we're going to we want you to make plays. We want you to do your thing pretty much, and it kinda just was like, okay. Well, you know, I'm here to make plays. I'm here to help the team. And and they Lau me to be myself. And allow me to, you know, bring the energy bring that excitement everyday bring, you know, my goofiness, my everything really the biggest difference was just me being myself. You know may not have to hide YM being in a show, you know, doing things at certain way when I came here they allow me to be myself play football make plays help the team. I'm big fan of Frank Reich. I think that he is one of the more underrated coaches in the NFL. But I think what Andrew luck is doing under his tutelage. This year is showing people in the NFL. How great he is. I played with a guy and hawk played with them. Josh mccown. He's the guy that's played at a million places. And I remember when Frank was in Philly Josh saying like this is. One of the great coaches in the NFL, and if he ever gets an opportunity he's going to do great things as the head coach..

"Now, if you can continue to develop his ability to throw the football if they continue to develop his ability to play like you see Jared Goff playing in L A with the Rams where they're they're relying on a lot of that RPO play action move the pocket type stuff. So that it's not just stand back there in the pocket throwing the ball. Like your Tom Brady. I think that's the generation that these quarterbacks that we're seeing that are young are in. And that's the way the NFL is moving as it is. So a guy like Lamar Jackson might be just hitting it. Perfect. He's striking while the irons hot because the whole NFL offensively is moving to this RPO play action where you are a quarterback that can move, and they can get out of the pocket that just adds another dimension. So. I think with continued development. I'm actually becoming a Lamar Jackson fan where I was skeptical early on will they said he couldn't start at all before. Right. And now, it's that's the thing about haters, man. And I'm not saying I'm not guilty to those people. I hate on. It's my job. I'm analyst I have to say who's good. And who's not otherwise, nobody would ask me to talk about it. But it was you'd be saving more pickle jars than you do right now. Bigly PO would be Sopo. So, but you have they just keep moving the finish line. Right. It's like, you know, he'll he won't be drafted high. He should have got an agent. Well, he went in the first round with his mom is an agent. No one says, I was wrong. They still draft him in the first round. Now that say, oh, he's going to play wide receiver. Well, guess what? He's not playing receiver. Then say, oh, he won't start as a rookie. Yes. What injuries are not? He's starting as a rookie in the conversation is now do they put Joe flacco back at the helmet quarterback? Nobody thought we would be having that conversation with Lamar Jackson, and we are now it's well he can't do that for four years. And we just before it will say, well, he can't sustain over a career. He'll never win a Super Bowl that way. Ona? That's what you do. That's what haters do they just keep moving the finish line. And it's never enough. My question to you. Joe is this do they make Joe flacco the starting quarterback when he returns from injury or do they stick with Lamar Jackson? Well, if Lamar keeps winning and playing the way he's been playing I think you have to go to the trainers, and the doctors and tell them you know, that Joe flacco in. Injury. It looks little bit worse than we expected. So make sure he's a little bit on the injury report this week it's longer than maybe he should be. I have that conversation. Right. So that the doctors look at the X Ray angle. Joe sorry, you see this little thing over here on the it's actually worse than we thought. So it's going to be another week just wanted you sit on the bench one more week. And we'll just see what happens with another week healing because we really want you to be healthy when you get back out there. The good thing is we don't have to rush. You write the team is playing well doing great. So that's just not it. We don't have to just make sure it heals. Right. You keep making it a medical excuse until either plays. So well that he becomes a fulltime starter or he plays so badly that you put Joe flacco back in there. Because the last thing you want to do is have a healthy. Joe flacco and healthy Lamar wok. Lamar Jackson almost Lamar ins use a player. I played with an college. Lamar just put them in. He could throw a healthy Lamar Jackson and give him the keys to the whole organization before you're sure that he is the future because they still got Joe flacco who's making over twenty million dollars a year as the Super Bowl winning franchise quarterback in Baltimore. But one thing I want to say is a haters is a synonymous term with media. Yes..

"But eventually it's going to catch up to you. And if you want to be one of those franchise quarterbacks that gets the thirty million dollar Aaron Rodgers Kirk cousin deals, you need to be able to stay healthy and throw the football. Andrew hawkins. What's your take? I don't know. Why people hate this kid, man? I really don't. I mean, we talk a lot about Baker Mayfield personality. And you know, people saying this saying now, whatever the incidences Lamar Jackson does not seem like he's having fun when he plays football. He's not seeing fun in his interviews. The kids always smile, and he doesn't talk much. He's not like he literally seems like a kid to me because he is he's a young. He's a young guy. So who cares? I don't wanna say for his own career. Yes, you have to be able to stay healthy. But the do just playing football the way he has his entire life. Pop Warner high-school college got in the Heisman, he made Louisville one of the best teams in the country because he's a crazy athlete. I'm not saying that it's the he's going to be a guy that can do this for the. Thirteen years. I don't know that. But when I do know is he's relying on what is ability is to win football games. He's to know again. And he's just having fun out there being who he is. Maybe he is the first guy that we can see say, oh, this guy was able to do this and sustain it for ten years. Like, Michael Vick was Michael Vick didn't take a bunch of hits. But he was just better than everybody else. He was so fast that guys could not catch him. And when he came out doing that they said the same thing to him. You're not going to be able to sustain this over a long period of time. Michael Vick had a really really good career the hall of fame status. Maybe not. But still he changed the game of football. He the quarterbacks you see in their nab at our kind of run and pass options. There are product of Michael Vick. Not just Michael Vick Pacific because there was Randall Cunningham. There was Donovan McNabb to a point. They were other guys who affectively rushed the football. But Michael Vick transcended it. He was leading his team in rushing. He was putting crazy numbers on the board. And maybe Lamar Jackson is just the next iteration today. I'm starting to be a believer in. Lamar Jackson, and I think the ravens would be smart if they looked to see what the Houston Texans have been doing with the Shawn Watson because I think they're starting to figure out the best way to use the Shawn Watson. And I think to Sean starting to figure out the best way for him to play to help his team win not only week to week, but on a long-term basis because you don't see him running quite as much. But when he takes those opportunities is when the defense really gives it to him and he's going to just run up the middle of the field for fifty yards, which is what we saw on Monday night, which is really impressive. He still needs to learn how to slide just a little bit more often not taking some of those big hits. But I think he's starting to understand like you can be a running quarterback and survive and thrive in this league. You just can't always rely on it needs to be passed first run second. But when you have that dangerous running ability like the Lamar Jackson's like the Michael Vick did like, even let's say Russell Wilson has it eliminates some of the things that a defense can do to you like you automate. Take two men out of it. You can't play it. Because if you got your DB's turning their back, and he breaks free. He's going to run for sixty yards. So you basically are kind of taking the things that defense and how they can play you. And you're removing. Let's say a third of it is that fair, isn't it? Basically coverages blitzes those type of things pass rush patterns because you can't allow the quarterback to get free and get out of the pocket and run down the field. So that's gonna make the quarterback in the offense of coordinator's job much easier right off the bat..

"And they gotta pay him a lot of money, but they definitely screwed it up by benching him a few weeks ago because that's the surest way to destroy quarterbacks competent, especially one that's a little bit shakey and to destroy his future with that team. So good luck to Cody Kessler. Good luck to the Jaguars. They're going to need it. I wanna make one quick point before we kind of move onto our next topic. Here. I think this is the problem with today's NFL, and maybe it's not a problem. But when you try to win with defense a running game and a quarterback that protects the football. You can't consistently do that from year to year. It's too hard to keep the defense together playing well because you've got to pay so many guys on defense to keep your defense. Good. And it's too hard to keep them playing well because of the ups and downs of football careers and the nature of free agency in the nature of your different contracts and in order to be able to consistently win in the NFL from year to year you have to have a great quarterback that can score a lot of points and a great offense coordinator. And they didn't have that in Jacksonville. They had a great season last year. But right now, they're one of the worst teams in the NFL. So for all those NFL, general managers and owners that are listening out there, which most of them are if you wanna be consistently successful in today's NFL you have to have a great quarterback and a great off. Offensive coordinator. And the Jaguars don't have that. So they have no hope until they can find that. Here's my segue to our next topic. And it also doubles back. There's honestly there's a lot of related. We've already mentioned Lamar Jackson who was the next person. We'll talk about. But the issue that the Jaguars have and the issue that coach Condoleeza Rice would have been able to bring the Jacksonville organization is motivation coach the rock Johnson would have been able to motivate that team. That's the hardest part of coaching. So when you go all in and free agency, you go in and draft and the Jaguars got it right last year. That is how you use free agency to put together a championship caliber team and a championship caliber defense. They did that they went to the AFC championship. They lost by a minute. I don't even call it points 'cause they lost by that time just ran out. Right. Blake Bortles played the best game. He's ever played in his life. But that Jacksonville defense had the whole year of watching Blake Bortles. They had the whole year of listening to the reports they had the whole year of that. The the analyst talk about how bad this guy was. And they resigned him just like that you lost the motivation for your team. If I'm that defense that was scoring at record pace last year and putting up crazy numbers. And honestly was sometimes scoring more points than the offense was I'm not motivated by Blake Bortles coming back as a quarterback. They had a very small window to capitalize on a great defense. And they squandered it away by putting a quarterback in that didn't motivate them. Right. So that's where they messed up and Blake Bortles and the defense. Blake bortles. He's actually playing the Zach same. He played last year. His numbers are pretty much pays for last year. It's the defense that isn't playing as well because they're not as motivated because they realize that we're getting the same Blake Bortles. So we know what the outcome is going to be which is us not being in the Super Bowl which can tribute to the seven game losing streak. Well, you heard it here. First on the Tomahawk show, the Jaguars should clean house and higher Condoleeza Rice. If they want any hope of being successful in the future moving on Lamar Jackson. I know you've been a big fan of his. Since he was drafted. And even before he was drafted. I was a little bit more skeptical. But he's making me a little bit of a believer the way he's played the last couple of weeks. Tony Gonzalez came out and gave him a little bit of a pump the brakes cautionary tailing. Hey, man, you're doing a good job. But a quarterback that looks like you and not looks like Cam Newton who is looks like an offensive lineman down here. About taking so many hits because you may be able to do it for a few games or even a year..

"Thing? Your social media you need to know. No, tell us at Tomahawk show on social media, Twitter Instagram, you can talk to us about it on read it we've got a big red at following. But make sure you continue this conversation because I'm really interested to hear what the Thomas flock has to say about this conversation. But all right. Let's get into segment. One talking some football right now hawk. I'm interested to hear what your take is. Because you have played with the one and only Cody Kessler who is now these starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Did the Jaguars? Whereas make a fatal mistake by giving Bortles that huge contract extension this summer. Yes. They did. They also made a mistake and benching him a couple of weeks ago that we talked about and we predicted this is going to happen. Thank you. Because you don't bench guy. You're not really just to stop playing Cody Kessler. Yes. I think he's just as good as Blake Bortles. It's not better. And I do think it will be a step in the right direction. Because Cody is pretty good at protecting the football. If you have a good defense, if it gives them a spark and they're saying, hey, we. Have a guy that can kinda just make sure he doesn't lose it for us. Then they'll probably play better there on crazy. What seven game losing streak? They five a lot of lose. And they find their opposite. They feel their new office of the guy who's going to be calling the plays guest guest. Who he he also coach Joe wanted to get by while guess, can you guess where it was not that if you can guess where he was my coach where he coached me yet. Oh, I will put two hundred dollars towards natty ice coffeemaker. Oh, yes. I love when we start raising money and we go fund me for coming. You know, I'm gonna say the Montreal one hundred bucks just like that towards the natty ice coffee maker. He was my office coordinator both years that I played it much. Now that all you have to do is show up and join the draftkings up which you have struggled to do weaken. And we got now you have to you have no chance of being you have to do with care about this coffeemaker now, and you can be you can be the proud owner of one. But yeah, I I think they made the right decision in benching him, and they definitely screwed up by giving them a contract extension. But that's not even like you. Don't need to be a football analyst guru to have seen that Blake Bortles, isn't that good? But that's the state of quarterbacks. We are in the league were mediocre guys are still getting twenty million dollars a year. Just because that's the going price for a starting quarterback. They should've let them walk in free agency. Think about other quarterback they could've brought in there. I still believe Colin cabinet because a better option than Blake Bortles. They could have drafted Lamar Jackson say what you want about him rushing. So much of what he can't do with the football. Blake Bortles can't do either of those things. So we know what Blake is done at least go through a guy who has still the opportunity of potential. We don't know what he. Who knows he can go in there and could have been great for the Jacksonville Jaguars thing. This is a big mistake. But you know, what it's interesting when a team makes good run, but doesn't win the Super Bowl. Sometimes it comes in it actually hurts them more than if they would have just lost in the first round. Because if they would have either lost in the first in the playoffs, then they would have been able to move on from Blake Bortles, right then and there, but because he took him to the brink of the Super Bowl, they kind of got themselves. Stuck into a little bit of a corner where they almost had to resign them. And in order to resign them..

"Like, what is that? Like what is right? That's like that's what I wanna know, dad bug. How do you break is it certain parts of muscular and incitement parts of daddy? And is like do you have to be a dad or his dad bought its own thing? You know what I'm saying? Like a good dad bought the rock because he's a dad. You know, what I mean, it's not a dad father who to rip though, that's the question is like Peter Griffin is a dad. You know, what I'm saying because he's a father for not using the definition of you actually have to have kids what is an attractive dab. So we gotta bring natty ice on drums. So she can tell us who her most attractive, dad bodies. Besides Andrew, Hawkins course. She's pulling up all kinds of dad bod'ed right now in the Google like Chris Pratt has a fine. Dad bought at home quickly pull out your phones and figure out what Chris Pratt's looks like. But the question is which Chris Pratt because he got ripped up like in the most recent film. He was in. And now he's like maybe two ripped. Yeah. I don't know. Chris Pat from like parks and rec I was gonna say the Chris Pratt shirtless. I'm looking at isn't a dad, but he's got a six pack. Six pack is not a dad, but my right? I'm hearing you. I'm just looking at pictures of Christmas. Shirt off. There's apparently one of him. Is referring to? So. All right. Just putting that aside for one moment. Do we prefer generally speaking you and your friends the Chris Pratt dad Bod or like the young hunky twenty-something Bod or the rock whose like what forty but he's still ripped up. There were well, I don't like when you're super super ripped. It's just a weird. Like, it doesn't seem natural seems like you're trying to heart. So you won the gym already is what you're saying. You're still playing a game that you've already feet quit one. Why are you still going to the gym? Yes. So being fit would be good not overly fit but fit over Dodd. But Dodd's aren't that bad? There you have it. We we have solved the mystery of the dad, bud. Let's move into something that I'm really curious about to get your take because I've got like ten pounds of Turkey meat still sitting in my fridge from thanksgiving. And I want to know from your perspective. How long are you loud to keep thanksgiving leftovers in your fridge or you have to throw them away? Because I'm a big fan of the leftover Turkey. I took the Turkey, and I took mayo and mustard and onion and eg hard-boiled egg. And I mix them all together. And I made like a delicious rap yesterday, and I loved it. But I'm wondering how long allowed to continue to consume that leftover Turkey before I die of some type of salmonella. I was gonna say you eat it today, you're probably going to the hospital. So that's a good like Wednesday and the following Wednesday's. It's been too long. Tuesday was probably too long even on Monday Monday was probably the last day Monday was the last straw for the thanksgiving leftovers. Anything past you're putting your own life in your own hands. And there might not even be a cure for whatever. It is. You're going to contract but eating oh man lime that comes along enjoyed some on Wednesday. I figured seven days figured seven days was safe..

"Great night it was a great night rick was phenomenal very intimate setting answered a lot of questions i'm glad for the people who had a chance to go out to that event at the city club and we do a difficult dinner with a legend and we'll have another one coming up shortly and fitz hosted what i hear and did a nice job by the way the tease i had gone before going to the break was which nfc prominent nfl player cut today maybe headed towards the forty niners and i just read this one the detroit lions have cut their former first round pick the tight end eric e bron released by the lions and i only bring up ibran because you know he's talking about a big fast tight end with a lot of physical ability not the greatest hands in the world but he was drafted in detroit by martin mayhew who's now in the nine or front office in the niners always looking for big playability heck they just signed jerk mackinnon mckinnon is a big play receiver out of the backfield as a running back brian would give them a big playability tight end piece it'll be interesting to see if they make a play for eric e bronze seemed like since vernon davis for united been going through tight ends you know somebody who can stretch the seam and also maybe somebody who could really replace logan paulsen as a inline blocking option yeah so i think you may see them go after a tight end but hebron's interesting just because martin may you invested a you know a first round pick and him and he's demonstrated all that athleticism that he had it north carolina he's been inconsistent but he's a big play guy at the tight end spot and if you're looking for somebody to create space stretch the scene you know you know be that guy can get you a fifty yard pass play from the tight end position eric ibran might be what they're looking for.
