Pandemic projections suggest requiring masks could save 33,000 lives in U.S.

"There's a new projection from IHS. Emmy University of Washington which does a lot of the projections. They say that if people wear masks. Ninety five percent of the public, then thirty thousand lives in the United States could be saved just by October first. Does that suggest to you that every governor where there are? Outbreaks should be mandating masks in public. I do now that we have this guidance about how effective moss can be in the right conditions I think we need to be much clearer and telling people exactly what they need to do to protect themselves and their communities and this projection. Jake comes off the back of another projection. The estimate that seventy to ninety nine percent of Americans who died from covid nineteen that the Dow's were unethical. Unethical an unnecessary and could have been prevented if America had acted more aggressively early on and follow the steps of countries such as Germany and Singapore, so we missed the boat already. We've been late to the game. We have been getting poor communications Americans, and misguiding them I think now's the time to step that up and try to mitigate tens of thousands of Americans dying from covid nineteen. Only a little time but I want you to take a look at this video of a city councilman in Scottsdale Arizona Against Masks take a listen. I can't. I can't play. Obviously an incredibly insensitive reference to the death of George, Floyd, what we've also seen a judge in taxes assaulted after he issued a face covering order. What's your reaction? This is so such an awful exploitative co-opting of the icon brief statement, which is literally black Americans fighting for their right to live and not be killed by racist, and just speaks to what we've been talking about for the past few minutes that wearing a moth is a simple public health intervention. It protects other people. It need not be a political

Road-tripping Post COVID-19

"Hi. It's Kim and fill with you a huge thanks for joining into a spatial episode exploring road tripping, and in this episode we discuss specific routes necessarily, but rather tuning to four experts, discussing the rise of road travel as broad as open and travel restrictions begins, as it made covid nineteen, and it is worth. Noting as the US started opening up their economies covid cases began to spike again in some areas by as much as twenty five percent, according to Alfred Christina Tunnel hit of World Medicine for the Americas. Then, Spain the has to be some sort of consideration in how people do a rug trip to minimize further spread. Well, that's what's attractive about Roger Christina's places with campsites and inherits social, distancing like national and state parks will be the preferred destinations. She also says many are allowing people in only by strict daily caps and reservations in some filler, even denying entry to out of state visit you normal, isn't it? Yeah, our first chat is with Joe from harvest hosts which will explain about shortly, but we should put it out there as it pops up during this episode. Commute a huge fan of Roger. I am indeed now we converted, and they'll DVD. G Ten diesel delivery van. And sadly it was just before the pandemic, so emmy use it, but since managed one road trip is restrictions lifted here in New South Wales in Australia. We went to cattle. Farm near applies cold Mudgee, which is nine for its produce in its wine now set up. Is The lady image on the website for these episode by the way, so you can have a look, but they had social distancing rules in place, Ville especially around the drop toilets, where everything had to be wiped down after used it with sanitizer, and if you were lining up for the lose your head to maintain that one point five major distance, but as for the site itself, it's a cattle farm. It was huge. It was so big. It was easy to Cape Away from his. Anyway. That's my story. We kicked up asking Joe. It's not about me if twenty twenty is a banner year for ride travel. Yes hard stop interviews over. Rarely is their question was such an easy answer? I think it was very speculative back in March. It was a lot of up in the air like Whoa. What's going to happen? Never win. Kinda paused. We saw memberships. New memberships really dropped off a cliff. Everyone was kind of nervous about the unknown. What we're seeing now. Is that everything's exploding in the RV world, so our business is up four hundred percent, or versus this time last year we're seeing rental companies like outdoorsy and RV share also up four hundred percent. So I think people are number one. They're ready to get back to traveling and number two. Are Beings a very safe way to do it. Even amidst this Cova crisis. What is safe for them being in your own RV in a spacious area. You know without crowds, so yes, I think this is the year I think this is the year, and I hope it lasts because you and I probably agree are pretty wonderful thing to do. Schori's in fact as offset. Every month during this covered lockdown I want to avoid anything that's hectic and I want to avoid expectation so jumping in the van for me, and just disappearing somewhere is is what I'm GonNa do the racist of the and moving forward. If I can be convinced, my husband to leave, he's job. Man That's so funny. We're about the same I I'm trying to convince my wife to leave her job for the same reasons, unlike this is our opportunity, just like be nomads and and travel right so. I wish you best of luck and. Thanks for that otherwise we could meet halfway. Just travel buddies so. You. You've done it for years just for those that haven't an dabbling NATO's in this world vein. What is the attraction freedom I? Mean again like it's a one word answer, but I think it really captures it for us from my wife and I. We got into are being. Like six years ago and the concept when our heads were like well, wouldn't it be nice to a road trip? It seems so freeing and like open an exciting. When we did it, we fell in love with it. Getting Into America with Trymaine Lee

"Welcome to the bloggers podcast I'm your host Ryan Africa's episode. We're going to be keeping the conversation going because we WANNA. Keep the names of George. Floyd, Brianna, Taylor Ahmad Aubrey Tamir, Rice Rees Gordon, Sandra Blan- and unfortunately the list can keep going and going and going, but we want to keep those names out. There want to keep this conversation going so people stay informed. And we don't want this to be got to be forgotten, so we're back in the situation again so Yes, like I said blogger owners committed to doing that and I am not just here by myself. I have a contassot. Guests with me here today to keep this conversation going. I am talking about. Pull a surprise and Emmy Award winning journalist. Tremaine, Lee. He is also MB. Correspondent in host of the into America podcast, so I am so glad to have him here with me today. They Ryan thank you so much revenue neutral appreciative. I WANNA. Start off this. This question was kinda going throughout. My might assume I knew I was GONNA. I was excited about this because I wanna Kinda. Give the listeners a different perspective that we don't get all the time with all this coverage of the protests and everything that's going on and not to say that you speak for all of news broadcasting. and I'm in production that worlds often find myself in this conversation as well. This is why this question is so important to me. But how do you deal with the idea of people asking why the media is covering the protests way their covenant, or you know certain situations. You find yourself in a maybe you don't have a choice of what the story is recovering that day. What's it? It depends I think the one thing that we do have choice over one one space did I control is how I centered the narrative. That I'm speaking to reporting on recovering so sometimes. The critique of the media is absolutely correct, because the media is not like any other institution. America, that's been a touched in racism, touched in bias touching all those things, so it's incumbent upon us working inside media. To make sure flicking the truest narrative possible, and sometimes that begins with our own experience in our own. To understand the language that's being spoken these communities right so so we're not relying on trucks and stereotypes ideally. We're we're connecting to the people in a different way and so I don't pay much mind to the critiques necessarily except for some of correct That's when we have to make sure that we are redoubling our efforts but I know from from. You know I don't I. Don't get many of those critiques because you know. I try to keep it as as true as possible I. Mean That's what I've done my entire career. So you know sometimes they're correct. Sometimes, they're not sometimes people. Are just shouting into the ether, your social media just right the shouting right, but I think the good thing is that the proof is always in the so that people can consume the information. The best dress with their concerns are. Right and speaking of getting out there and speaking the truth into America a fairly new podcast. She started up. Can you tell me about how that started and wise that important to you? Into America at this point I think we're on episode Twenty Six maybe twenty seven in the the whole idea behind into Americans really get outside of our bubbles in really go out into America. In an approach politics policy in a different conway. Along and I worked for MSNBC PROUDLY SO but you know the twenty four hour news cycle. It's kind of like a horse. Race Times. If you're not careful the way we. The Lens from which review politics? It's also who's up now. WHO's fallen behind? You know it's daily drama as opposed to the way politics policy actually impact the lives of everyday people, and so the goal of into America was to do just that. Go out into America. And speak directly to people about their concerns, their needs but also how the backdrop of policy is really impacting them. You know and I really do believe that is the kind of thing. I worked my entire life trying to trying to do right always out there with the people and trying to tell the people's story. Our care deeply about the most vulnerable among US marginalized community, most certainly a black folks in this country, but also the poor any race the marginalized anyways so into America. We've been trying to. Obviously it's shifted a bit through. I Kobe nineteen right so now we're. Quest heard in with the engaged with how people are You know the fallout from Kobe nineteen whether it's the the emotional stuff with his health, related impact was the economic impact and now in. This Arab uprising rebellion in protests. We've shifted again to to address in all of the concerns around systemic racism the the the initial ideals of white supremacy that in so many ways to guide this country. The protests respect all of those things, so that's a long answer, but that is into America.

Look It Up and Learn by Michaela Newey

"Look it up pin, learn by Michaela new. We with the good life. MANIFESTO DOT COM. My husband left me after seventeen years of being together. He did all the mainly stuff. You know that sort of thing changing the lightbulbs jumpstarting the car fixing things around the house organizing plumber, talking to the car mechanic, and so on before that my late father filled this role for me. The strange thing is that I had a very technical job in a totally male dominated field, which included things like wiring, soldiering using power tools, assembling huge sound and lighting systems, and so on. Certainly very capable of my job. The only thing I ever really needed help on was the heavy lifting or being too short to reach something from the ladder. But for reasons that Miam- still exploring I just handed the power of these mainly duties at home to these men, my whole life, my husband leaving me was a huge shock. Aside from a multitude of other things, I experienced something I had never felt before. Helplessness is an awful thing, and although I hated myself for it I found still relied on him. The first time I had a house emergency was failure of the front gate motor when it stopped working I sat on the floor in cried because I did not know what to do. Do. He would know what to do, but he was no longer there and do not want to call him then I pulled myself together and Message Group of friends within a couple of minutes. My other names and numbers of professionals I also ask some people in my street for help. And what are you know? Help arrived in the form of a kind neighbor. One morning my car would not start again. I sank into despair and cried. I needed to get somewhere. He always sort of these things out. And at that moment a dear friend messaged me and said she would come and help me in the afternoon at a commitment for the whole morning, so I called an Uber and got to where I needed to be and got a ride home. She came to help me. The next day I went in myself. Jumper cables and a trickle charger then. I got a new battery. Jumpstarting. Your car is not rocket science. I started doing more things for myself is a hard thing to transition to taking your power into your own hands, but my friend who had been divorced for several years, said to me something simple yet it was profound. She said Google it or look it up on Youtube. You can find out how to do practically everything I've pretty much rebuilt my house myself tanks to Youtube so I did after helplessness into essentially learning I've learned how to do a lot of things and I will keep on learning each time life. Throw something Emmy. I've learned how to fix all sorts of things I can take a lot of my land rover apart and fix things myself. I removed and replaced silicone in the kitchen and the shower I treated rising damp, I asked to garner road to please show me how to replace the line in my edge trimmer. Not Do it for me I replaced a life fitting. I looked up Eric Hosmer, my dishwasher and washing machine and fix the problems. I even mow. The lawn turns out is a great workout as well so bonus. And if I'm not able to do it myself, I can hire someone to do it for me. The details of such a person are available on the Internet. I joined the Automobile Association. And when my car broke down, I made one call and people arrived to sort it out for me. You can do things for yourself. Don't have a panic attack like I used to make a cup of tea to calm down and analyze the problem without emotion.

Q&A Wednesday: I'm having a hard time with my market analysis. How do I get started?

"So, let me get into the details of Matthew's question in today's cuny Wednesday I just found your podcast and I'm currently working on my business plan. However I'm having a hard time writing my market report the business I'm trying to build as a large scale agriculture business. This would be at a national scale, but when ever looking for information online I'm having a hard time, which is understandable because I'm not selling directly to. To the consumer, actually selling to people that selfish restaurants grocers wholesalers can I assume that I should just focus on the overall growth of industry of the seafood market as well as import export. This is like Black Magic to me. I'm not really sure where to start looking forward to hearing from you matthew. Matthew we got your back. First of all. You are right. You're not in an industry where you're selling direct to. To customer or direct to consumer, you're actually selling to suppliers like you mentioned. Restaurants grocery store supermarket chains, so in formation is not so simple or not so easy to find online. What you need to do though is you need to learn a little bit more about the industry itself. Then you're right learning a little bit more about the seafood industry in general in your country. We'll help and it will give you. You an understanding of some margins, the cost of things Prophet. If the market's going up, it's going down. What are some of determining factors? This is going to give you some generalities, and it's going to be helpful, but in order to get the whole picture. You really need an insider. You need somebody that is in the industry already, and you need to speak to them and get some information it doesn't have to be. Somebody that you work with or consult with for a long period of time. This literally could be a couple of meetings over a cup of coffee, and you might say to yourself well. I can't really speak to anybody because they're going to be my competitor sp to another seafood supplier because they're not going to help me well, that's okay. You don't need to speak to another seafood supplier unique to speak to a sister company somebody that's going to be dealing with the same people that you will deal with the same companies, the same consumer like restaurants or grocery stores, so you can find somebody that supplies a meat for example, chicken or truffles. It doesn't really matter as. As long as the same people, you're going to be dealing with the same they deal with. then. Your best bet is to speak to somebody that is in your local community. There ought to be nationwide. Okay, they're not to be as large skills you are, but they could be like a local butcher, the supplies the stakes to the local pub or the local restaurant. They love their stakes, because they're super organic, and all that kind of stuff you can go small scale to beginning to understand the nature of the industry. Okay to understand what you're getting into, understand the cost of doing business with these types of businesses, and you probably already know somebody in this industry. Industry, or maybe it is your local butcher or your local farmer, and you would be surprised. How many of them are willing to help you out? They know how it feels to be you and you're not a competitor. It just takes a little bit courage for you to just rock up to your local former to your local butcher, to whoever supplies the meats or the chicken or the vegetables, or whatever to the seem places. You're going to be selling to restaurants grocery stores things like that then approach as hey. Can I speak to the owner? Can I speak to the manager here and they might be around if not find out when they are around and just have. Have a quick conversation. The Hey, my name is so and so I'm going to be getting into the fish industry i. know that this is different from what you do but I love to you know. Pick your brain because you're a few steps ahead. Emmy in the meat, industry or the chicken industry I'd love to grab a cup of coffee by lunch. Buy You dinner I know this seems a little before i. You know how hard this industry is. You know hard to get information. Have a whole bunch of questions I'd love for you to help me out more chances than not. They're going to say yes, and if they say no just move onto the next person. Will say yes, and this is where you ask them the questions you need to know about that market about the profit margins. About how longer these deals how long are these These supply contracts are. What's the cost of doing

"People with. You're just like prison rules and I scraped off the caramelized onions. Because they were gross. Yeah and then there was so much shredded lettuce of a kind of cabbage like it was like Coleslaw with no dressing. Kind of you remember script off. I want send it my way. Eating fistfuls shredded lettuce very disgusting to see in fact I will say that like the the leftover like the the I wanted to say the the final result of our trays. Or whatever how everything ended up was fucking disgusting my fault but also it was it was just. It was just fucking gross things that we wanted to eat in the things. We didn't want to eat. Just became this big fucking disastrous mess and. I like sure to let us. Okay I I get your issue with a kind of with the Double Burger. I think it didn't bother me as much but with a single burger. Maybe it would it kind of went. Maybe it kind of made the Burger a little bit more wet and sloppy. Yes and it it. It actually eclipsed the Burger in my. I couldn't taste the Burger until I got rid of the lettuce and this is I think the plane burger is like a perfect food. You don't have to do anything to it anyway. Yup and so you and I both got doubles. You've got a single and then we also got a couple of other sandwiches. The first one is a specialty. They have right now. A seasonal item that Parmesan Shibata Golden Chicken Sandwich. This is a breaded Golden Chicken breast sandwich between age artisan Parmesan cheese sliced tomato lettuce and a housemaid. Basil Pestel Ailey on Parmesan crusted Shibata role. There's a gish word that you taught me Ami Hunga Patrika and that was what which which you can do a better job of defining. It's it's like something excessive or over-decorated that has like a few too many things going on and yeah that's sandwich was like. It's like three different ideas too much stuff going. I definitely it was like this is Patricia. That's the way you know. What if you're mention how that's good right? Okay we'll go on. I'm going to hear you might be a redneck thing. I'll never do it. Please do it. If you're a Parmesan Shibata Golden Chicken Sandwich. Also has a Basil Pesto away. Oli You might be. It is so to hear that word in a southern accent. It's wow I feel like I'm on. I agree Apopka I give it a third. Pasha much visited the regular chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich. The element that I would lose if I was going to lose one thing because they've got Parmigiana Parmesan cheese chicken. No they've got. They've got parmesan cheese on the chicken. Patty and then they've also got a Parmesan crusted role. It's just too much. Parmesan is just too aggressively. Mommy right now in the the Aw tuna fillet is the other one. We got it as a dare. We kind of felt like we had to. It's described as I was gray tuna with a Teriyaki glaze. WanNa say this you have to get the He Tuna Burgers and I was like and then I got up there and you really thought that you're going to get the double burger. You can have a bite of mine and I was like. I'm not just getting the I. Tuna Burger you free when you said you were going to get it on. Yeah I ordered it for the table. But you said it you. I was trying to give competent convincing in your performance of saying like. Oh Yeah I'm GonNa get that that I believed it. You sold it thank you. It was a good performance. I appreciate that however what am I best however the Ahi tuna fillet left much to be desired. Yeah I I think this one. I think you'd be rejected if I try to bring it back to Quincy Bay. It's fucking discount. It was it was really gross. So it's not a great not a great piece of fish and the after taste was putrid having the clearest most damning review of that sandwiches that you didn't want to bring it home to your cat like I. I was nervous that my cats would eat it and get sick or something. I was GONNA puke. Shis put one rod up or button one Rodney mouth and then no ass wiping for Mitch. First of all I. I don't do these things with my cat. Experiment on the cats. I didn't think I don't make fucking human centipede with watling. She's probably like a feline centipede. If I'm part of it I guess it's probably still like humans and you're thinking you can take the middle segment. I might jump on the caboose. The front cat eats the tuna. Yeah you know the rats we can go back in. The two of them are the front. You've got to cat- assholes trained into your mouth. I'm picturing shaped like the letter. Y and you know what they're fine. They're enjoying themselves. What happens the you you made a point of how the habits Burger was a little bit Burger King? Which nick and I have talked. Burger King's back. It's doing well right. King is back urgings back. It's at a comeback. The can't I will I all. I will say this eating that. He Tuna Sandwich. It felt like if you took a burger out of the If you took the upper patty out of the water and just slid in like a poor piece of fish. That's exactly what it was and I was like. This should have different. It shouldn't have shredded lettuce and should have like maybe just like like some sort of leafy butter lettuce or something. I anything else not shredded lettuce and then it just. There's gotTa be other alterations to. It was like to dipped in whatever. The sauce was a marinated in some sort of because they did have sure. Oh God fucking suck. Sushi grade to is just offensive. Yeah it's IT'S A. It's an insult look up by ordering it. We fucked up. But it's on the menu and it's there for a reason I think it's like it's worth trying and it's good to know that it's it's it's really bad. It's as bad as you think it would be. I will say that they had you mentioned not having shredded lettuce. Yeah I think that might have helped the Fisher so bad that I think that's just the it's it's you can't overcome that but they did have holy flesh. They have green leaf lettuce on the tomato sandwich. The chicken sandwich. They could have used that for this. It would have seen seemed a little class trashy. I will say it had Teriyaki glaze which I did not get it all. I got no hint of Teriyaki from that. I just got like a straight like rancid fish. It was a very aquarium flavored sandwich. It tasted like the aquarium smells. Yes yes so. We did not have great with the protein between bonds however we didn't have great experiences with those variants however we I think the sides pretty good French fries sweet potato fries onion rings and Tempur green beans. We got all of those. We tried them all Fraser. Very lightly salted. But they're well fried sweet potato fries similar assessment onion rings. I thought we're we're we're high quality and that ranch dipping sauce ranch dipping sauce. Their generous with it to those onion rings reminded me of Burger King. Onion rings show just the ratio of redness to onion. The onion is barely perceptible. I don't think that's a bad thing. Yeah I thought I thought they were a nick and I had a big conversation. What are you dip in your onion rings in nowadays? Yes Nikki ranch. I've gone onto I've got onto the ranch side of Israeli for now the main dip for onion rings are this is a point. This is a district it feels like it should be like adobe doboy dateline not Dateline Adobo is an investigative episode of Doboy Deep Dive. What's what's a good Hashtag for that deep dips Dean Hashtag. Tash deep dips. Are you rings ranch or on the Ketchup train? I feel like a lot of times if you'll get them as an appetizer at a sit down chain ranches what. You're getting with them. But I think a lot of people do dip them in Ketchup size. I would assume catcher but still most popular. Are we just going to overlook mustard completely? Feel like this is such a false binary. Sorry no.

"Whatever you're GONNA say Richie rich or something but lobster is a lot more say and you say stuff about me all the time. You're mean to me I was going to say that I believe in New England. That shellfish is a lot less expensive right. It's like it's it's expensive but it's it's more abundant. It's because it's their the Atlantic Ocean is of is rich with. Yeah oh I like raw clams seafood tower. Sorry I we've moved on. I just don't want to get any any Depart let me tell you I. I'll drive. I'll drive in. Quincy will drive down two walls and beach. I'll walk in the water. I'll come up with a couple of lobsters for us in your hands. Snapping fingers ran out of your fucking walk in. I'll come up with a whole seafood platter. Foia whatever you want lives. I don't think you can I can do this. There are places on the south shore. If you go early enough you can steal clams and eat them yourself. That's a very Boston. A Boston. Pastime is stealing claim really early in the morning earlier than the Fishers Cow Tipping Mitch. I don't believe that you could steal that you could get lobsters out of the Atlantic Ocean but I do think that you could kneel by stream and swipe a salmon with your paw. He's saying I'm a bear your Beerman I wanted to ask a this about. We're GONNA say I'm GonNa fucking Grizzly man you your mommy. And then they're gonNA play. We're going to pick up on these microphones and Emma is going to hear the audio and then tell. You must've listened to this horrible. I'm dying and coming back off by stop. Murdering I had a question. Now I love my brain You know what I wanted to ask this lobsters and as someone who likes cold seafood the thing and I feel like it's divisive. Hold on a second. Yes all right. You don't like hot seafood. I like hot. Seaf- seafood resist grow sounding no. But I'm saying Emmy specifically says. She likes Seafood Tower. You like ah children while I was going to say it like that. I'm sorry I I'll I'll dog a tower right now. Do you like the divisive food item. I feel like as the lobster roll. Do you like a lobster roll. I love lobster roll. I didn't know that was a divisive. Item is this. This is some weird bullshit. What are you doing? How's IT device? Here's what here's what happens. A LOT OF PLACES. I feel like us a small quantity of lobster or a cheap product with a lot of filler. And then you're saying like bad lobster all I'm saying outside of New England life cereals. Outside of New People are like like lobster rolls. I loved her. Always A rip-off here that opinion a lot. Maybe that's exclusive to the rest of the country but maybe England made me new. England hasn't figured out but sounds like this was started by lobsters themselves. That's the rumor they're passing around. Not enough loves it. I feel like I thought on this. Yes as a new Englander. I should like the cold zero but I kind of like the warm lobster with Butter Connecticut style. I think they're both good old light bulb of the idea that they're expensive is because they come in a hot dog Bun and I think people naturally compare it to a hotdog maybe unconsciously. But it's not like a terrible deal picking this stuff out of a lobster. Takes a lot of work right that you don't do? I've had some. I've definitely had some good ones. But there it's a hit or miss thing and there are some places where it feels like. It's a big rip off Let's talk a little bit. Let's shift away from the ocean. The Ocean thank you. Let's shift away from the where we're going to see. I WanNa talk about Dunkin. Donuts a mass staple Mitch. Obviously you have a strong allegiance to it. I think it's one of the fast food breakfast. I like this picture of Mayor. P With a donut. Not It wasn't even. I haven't even see that either. There was a picture of him with like a much of Dunkin. Donuts or something boy was he trying to be like a man of the people that the idea. I guess so. I don't know I don't know what he was doing. That fucking Buchan rat. He was like holding them wrong. He's trying to put them around his wrist or something to love to donate. I don't know why I think of him as being robotic. I'm not even sure that's like thing. People think about him. No He's kind of an Automaton. Yeah I mean. I'm much more lifelike than mayor. Pete Yeah you're kind of like Bishop from aliens right and he's a WHO's the first one in Alien One. I forget I forget who it is in home you know. How does it Ian Home Home? Your home in home is e home without. It's what singular. Yes in hole in home in home. The whole time wartimes anyways. He's like union home right. You're like bishop clarify to go in home things around me. Do you like Dunkin donuts very much. Yeah Yeah what. You're there for donuts or for just the whole menu did talk me through all of it. Okay okay okay so I do think the breakfast sandwiches are pretty on point. The English Muffins in particular. Don't leave you feel in two shitty. Which is a plus I got. I was at an airport early in the morning. And they gave me one of the impossible patties on a breakfast sandwich notes. I thought it was great. We try to get the snoop Dogg one on the road. Yes we snoop Dogg donut. There was between two. It was between two glazed donuts. That's a luther. That's not a snoop dogg whilst stolen it and yes dogs vary and I believe us the impossible me. That's why he gave. It is okay. Yeah Luther wouldn't liked now yeah. I think it's Luther Vandross right okay. Yeah he wouldn't like that We didn't we couldn't get it. We ended up getting and I and I and I did. I did enjoy but I thought that it tasted a little too. It tasted a little vegetarian but also we. This is a very middle worry. What was that like on the way to Cleveland? I think goes on the way to Detroit. We're in the middle of literally nowhere. That's right we just need a gas in. There happened to be at Dunkin donuts. I think yeah and it was it was it was okay but I wanna try it again. I I I want to try another world when you know you've had a long night or something like that. Yes and that's a great announced late night domino's like that that's a that's a good sandwiches are all day. I also the donuts. I like the Bavarian cream one. And this is something. Okay we nick and I are working with Someone whose husband works for I hop and the game has been playing his. What would you invent it? I hop given the chance to contribute like a new menu item. Yes and I think it's cream injections injects anything with. I agree with that interest great. That's a great thing you can cream inject your waffle or you're paying case. Yes you get the SYRINGE. They do it in the back. I haven't decided what do you have stance? I think that it's possibly too dark but I think that you having a in a syringe. A lot of fun. I mean this is. It's tough. It's tough away. You'd have wanted to not be sharp because if kids would want to play around with it so actual needle pastry pastry accessory. Yeah I think they should do. They should yeah. I feel like that's the thing they do in the kitchen. But it would be fun to choose which of your cream-filled items you would have. Yes I think you could go wild. I think one of them could be Nacho cheese easily and different styles of Different types of items that. You could chew because French toast. They feel like would be very solid. The French toast is the is the they really ihop. Has They Really Frankenstein? These these French toast things more than anything else. I can tell you my issue with stuff. French toast was that is really bad name because every French toast is stuff. Because I'm stuffed when I eat it in home home home Sch- attorneys-general they've been saying it wrong. This time it's Sherlock Home Emma. I think you've Boston be once again. Which is always embarrassing for me because all the quincy guys can't find They they don't think downtown crossing. Wow that's South Korea Texas once I was looking at the Celtics score. It's behind me. Jalen Brown has got hurt. I just know so thou through me. I like Jay. It's been a chaotic start signed expand. But he's as my one of my favorite Celtics Star. We're GONNA find a plug to start off this to start off the damn show. So here's the thing I think you in last week. Show and and Emmy knows a little bit about this because I've mentioned it at work but we had a little bit and certainly everyone is heard it by now because this is week later but it Seattle you had some real adversity that you powered through. I wasn't there for the star of the show. You carried it yourself by all accounts. You did a great job. I'M LISTENING TO EPISODE. Won't but but this is like a minor thing in comparison to that you could take the absence of the court a little bit more in stride. What are you talking about last week? When you weren't here was more was tougher so I should be looser NAMA support. I feel like the cord like it. Really put you in your head and we emma very quickly solved at you found some batteries batteries batteries. I got some footage. You do your piece of Shit I was here. I thought you were here. I was pitching ideas. I found some batteries. Yes it's fine. The court was not that big of a deal is a quarter. Because I don't know where the court is. You hit it somewhere. I would I do that. That'd be self destructive. I don't know I. There's no explanation for the coordinators beer. Spend a Lotta time cleaning up this place. He got mad at me when I gave you all the shit that was yours. Yes so I got here and there was just a large pile of like I'd say trash that you were that. You said that I had to take home. You have some people on the road okay. Well it was just kind of in a big pile of lawn. Yes exactly what? It was like a bitter divorce all that stuff. That's yours it was just here. Yeah I'll take me. I'm taking it back back. I've been cleaning up this place and then to not find the court. It just makes me go a little nutty. Okay get it yeah. I just feel like you've got a little bit stressed out and I was just going to say you've you've handled worse situations and I think you're going to be fine here you go. We're GONNA core. Yes we're going to get a new chord interesting down by mass general I guess is is one but then did you say Harare's Herrera's is maybe the one that that that could have been thinking but I fucked it up. I have had in as I've had it once or twice. I know that believe you know you don't did. I take you to legal seafood now. You didn't. That's a classic about legal seafood. You can get a bowl of lamb chowder. Before you. There's seaport that has four levels or something. Very menu on each floor is that that's not. That's there's a test kitchen now. Is this the kind of place you could get a seafood tower or for sure? So they've they've got everything and it's like a sit down place. It was on the list of things that we could have reviewed while we were in Boston when people were suggesting places. Obviously Pizzeria Regina. We were going to cover. Because and that's your favorite But we also had the five floors bay. We'll let PIZZARIA REGINA I'd love to go back not for the podcast just to go and have a lovely meal. "It's like here's old television telling you all about the new television glee in twenty four. You know not that long ago like yeah they used to be in the mix for things and some of their comedy certainly arrested development but yeah it was like this is us. I think is is is one of the few things kind of keeping networks in the Emmys the good place a little bit as well but like I just yeah. It just felt this kind of like complete. I mean granted also very Murdoch and kind of its shameless dislike just concession to like the yeah we're not. We're not you guys anymore like we're this now and we'll show your award show but we're not that's a whole different thing. That's a bunch of like you know. COASTAL SNOBS JOBS here. Here's the meat and potatoes for everyone else who I don't think was even watching the Emmys it reminded me of you know we excerpted back in July a book an oral history of the shrimp rise called the method to the madness by Allen Salkin and Aaron short and it's so crazy and sort of darkly funny they talk about the escalator announcement and you know according to these people at least they were all very self aware about the fact that it was going to be totally repulsive and disgusting to millions of Americans and they were excited about it it and that kind of was the vibe that I got off the mast singer thing stock just being like Oh my God. I can't believe they gave us the keys to this thing for one night. Let's just be as disgustingly gusting Lee Fox as we can because no one can stop us but I am looking forward to the reveal of magic because I understand it's Kieran Culkin and Lachlan Murdoch together Tarija the rare double mess one of the other like weird show elements of this to me was Z. Game of thrones tribute and then later the veep tribute they kind of broke up halfway through the middle of the show and Joe and I was talking to you during get about how dislike incredibly awkward it felt like eulogize game of thrones especially because Bran Isaac hip to the right was not on stage even though he won the game of thrones joined well. How did that strike you yeah. I don't know I don't know how the that went over with. You guys where you're watching but he did not seem to go over super well in the room. I mean okay. Let me let me be fair. There was I think the first Janney ovation of the night was for the game casts it was really fun to see Gwendolyn Christie get the largest share of all from the crowd but she looks like visibly surprised by that too. It was really charming. It was very sweet and I'm Clark got a big cherishes as well but you know the the setup up for it self just seems a little off and odd and the lines that they had to read about the show seemed a little stilted so for viewing audience is at home. It seemed seemed a little off kilter and then especially when thrones made kind of him I mean is it fair to say was a muted showing when they won best drama I think so because they had an opportunity to win so many more awards last night and they didn't so they picked up the prize English. They picked up the top prize which which you know I don't know that I can argue with whatever my feelings were about the final season given what it meant impact wise to division but they lost just out in in crazy to me that beauty which is still the only actor to ever win an Emmy for thrones and four times you know so to me it had the weird like ring of of that it was less about celebrating show for its artistic merits which you know technically the the emmys are supposed to be doing and more about like you made us so much money and now you're going going. Thank you please only kind of thing like it felt a little sweaty Eddie in that way and veep too to the tribute to a lesser extent you know I'm sure the economics of that are pretty good too but like game of thrones was a a global phenomenon unlike we've seen in a long time and and I it felt like they were sort of thinking they're they're king you know or something who was who who was retiring or something it felt a little bit like kissing a ring. I don't know did it did sit strangely and and you know again to go go back to the HBO Party for All Games runs wins like it was not as celebratory mood. Maybe as as could have been one also leaks since game in the monster wants. This game of thrones went off the air. It feels like it's been off the air forever like that. Last season was such kind of a mess creatively and like the d the discourses got so exhausting that like having you must feel like all of them coming back and say like Oh let it be over like I want to move on with my life. It's you're so right. I was just I was just thinking that actually and I think that it's it's because the season wasn't good. You know I think people just got left with it really squandered so much enthusiasm and excitement. It's too bad I think in the long run will look back back in and admire the show but I think there's a long hangover from it. Just being such a letdown. I think there is a sour taste for are a lot of us who covered it and who watched it but I did hear from people who were on the show that they were all excited to see each other again so I don't think that they that they themselves. Ellsworth like Oh can't believe we have to do this. They were excited to go there. I'm sure excited to have won. The biggest that at least is not a full embarrassment for them. You you know what I mean. They like walked away with that but I think for. I agree with you guys for all of us for me who has talked about game of thrones almost nonstop for years. I have not wanted talk about it much for the last few months you know or even talk about entertain ideas of of the prequel series that they're doing because I was just like I need a break from Wester Astros please. You know which is why why we can be so excited about something like fleabag because it just felt so fresh in different and new and exciting and deserving of all the awards it got so that was that was my takeaway from the night with the exception of meeting. He gave the thrones winning because I feel like everything That was exciting. Phelps deserved everything surprising felt deserved and then there are a few rubber stampers like SNL worms like all right fine in you know as terrible season last season but it always wins his category so fine. I know you stand ozark Joanna so well. I unloved Julia. Garner is true and Jason Bateman Jesus Beam in one at I don't know if you guys have seen the slow reaction of Jason Bateman money but it is a thing of beauty 'cause he is. I'm sorry Laura Linney is like what is Laura Linney is giving but but but you know that was a result of three entries from game of thrones eating each other in that category I think so yeah but I'm always on the lookout out from that for that Mike Z. Raised US on the podcast couple years ago that ideally the double threat or the triple threat or the celebrity director of the celebrity writer and it really does seem to shine nine through the Emmys such an irresistible figure for that because she's like so what she has made it so good. She's so charming. She's so interesting to talk to and light to like like look at her and be like you just made this perfect thing. You want to just throw out her. Do we want to talk about the Michelle Williams speech yeah. I always just wanted to ask what other victories victory that we felt like. We're like universally good and Michelle Williams having an emmy something we can all get behind too yeah and I mean I think she made made really good use of her moments Richard. Yeah I mean. I think that you know obviously She didn't thank us but I think the fact that we had our in. The podcast is what got her the win. Obviously I think I feel very comfortable taking credit for that but yeah. I think like you said you were in the lake. In a show that felt you know very sweet goods. You know Nice speeches very happy. Michelle Liam's came up there and actually did say something about you know pay an equity especially for women of color compared to their white male colleagues yes and and and and it felt S- pertinent to the moment and it also I think recognize that like something like when they see us walked in in that theater with eleven nominations and left with I think maybe one or two I mean and draws Rome one but like you know like I think that there was a sense of of disparity in the broadcast last night and and even know Michelle Williams herself as you know a white woman who's been you know famous for a long time in his was was arguably one of the bigger kind of quote movie stars in the room. I think it was great that she used that victory in that platform to sort of mentioned other people in the room either kind of indirectly it felt it felt really good. I don't know Kinda righteous and the audience responded in kind and I also felt very per bull personal Michelle Williams right because because as she mentioned backstage there was this pay equity scandal around all the money in the world where Mark Wahlberg got like one point five million and she got a thousand dollars or something thing like that to do so so that was a personal thing that she went through an experience but also topical to the the piece of art she made because this show was about Gwen verdon like getting her moment in the spotlight after being overshadowed by her creative creative partner but bossy so it's it was a really good marriage of it didn't feel sort of out of place. I will say that while I really really appreciate uh-huh Tricia Arquette said that that one did feel slightly out of place but like I'm not GonNa be mad at her cat for stumping for Trans Rights on stage of course that's great but it's not it didn't have the same organic flow that Michelle's speech. Did you know yeah I mean billy porter also kind of took advantage of his moment. I think I think I think the status at he's the first openly gay actor of color to win the best drama Emmy. I feel like there has to be like he might be. The first openly gay actor quoted when any emmy. I don't know that anyway anyway it was billed as a history making moment and I feel like he really kind of stepped up to that moment speech yeah and it was also billy. Porter winning is so interesting the fleabag bag windsor interesting like and then you have on the other side of things like Mazel you know vowed sporting winning again and Tony shillue winning and you know I felt probably Tony Shalhoub won an emmy every a year for a decade for monk which actually went three or four but but there there is a really interesting bifurcation between what you would kind of assume to be the traditional conservative. Have you know we just hit the button for the name. We recognize kind of voting and then this other stuff. That's really interesting I just I. I don't know that we'll ever know the answer to this question. Shen like just a different kind of part of the academy. That's voting for things like billy. Porter and fleabag or are those kind of impulses whole says existing within individual member..

"I mentioned are kept waiting for the act continuing in her resurgence here so really been stronger and even as she said in her speech you know I'm fifty years old doing the best acting in my career but I'm still mourning the death of my sister and she made a plea for Trans Trans. Women Are Trans People in fact just to get more jobs and to be honored to be recognized as regular people so our cat speech. I thought was strong. Reporter also propose some good memories memories overall from a show which like I said joy didn't think it was a great show necessarily but didn't think there was lots of surprises and oftentimes. That's a really good part of the show. I think that honestly saved the show this year. I thought a lot of the bits like the opening bid with Anthony Anderson saving the EMMYS. I thought a lot of those kind of fell flat even when Barunholtz in my Rudolph came out after having surgery. I also thought that it was kind of awkward even with my Rudolph's amazing time in so I'm glad there is something to keep a kind of entertained but at what did you think of Thomas Lennon as the commentator. Do you think those funnier now. I did see a lot of people tickets shots it. Let's I think that's a tough shot. you know if you're a clever one liners. I didn't think it was funny. It was different but no I wasn't really in favor of you. yeah. I thought I thought he had some good quips lips and jokes at the beginning but then it kinda started to fall flat the further the show progressed but I did really like Bob Newhart and Ben Stiller that whole bit of found to be very funny. Oh yeah that was great yeah. They did this whole bit where the honoring legends the past so they had Lucille Ball and George Burns Bob Newhart still alive is there and ends up telling bench that I I didn't know I hated you in Tropic Thunder. Not that was pretty funny as well definitely I agree that that was definitely a good moment but like during the fact it's the golden age of television would have thought there'd be some more memorable moments. But what do you make the factory my buddy. Max Brito previous guest on Sin Fouls text me saying you know the Emmy Stink honoring a bunch of shows that nobody watches but I think looking them for quality writes a fleabag supposed to be this good. This is the beauty of an award show is giving love to show that should be seen by more people and because these emmys I know I'm certainly going to watch an episode or two and I think more people will right yeah. I definitely think so especially phoebe Waller Bridge. You know this was kind of per coming out party. I think more so than the previous year's sleep bag is a show that I've never heard anyone say anything bad about in this kind of solidifies that yeah it was definitely memorable night like I said I feel bad for Julia. Drivers use with the combination having overcome cancer having won the statute every single time that would be enough to win the award but unfortunately does not come through any closing thoughts Joe. I think we've done an emmy recap that suitable for now yeah closing thought keep tick tock off the stage of the Emmys that Kim Jong Bit. I could've done without that whole thing I do love. Kim Jong previous guests on Senteci- came to ESPN once he's a really good guy he was great in the Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin but yeah that was that was not one of the stronger orbits the night was her favourite speech for you like Porter for poses emotional Patricia. Can I thought was pretty good. Israeli other speeches that stood out to you Alex Bornstein for sure because she started started out funny but then she just hit this really really positive note at the end to end had the crowd cheering. I loved that speech was very good and like I said I'm so happy for Shillue even and as he started his speeches and listen I know people hate when they start reading notes and giving up names and stuff and I gotta do it pulls up. The notes posted the glasses so hey it's your moment. It's your emmys enjoy it once again. Thank you so much of checking these special emmys recap. We'll be back on Wednesday of this week. "We're maybe close to the end of it any other big categories you guys are excited about any bold predictions you WanNa make I wanNA talk just a second about reality host. Oh yeah that's right because you know it was exciting. I believe it was last year that Rupaul Charles One and drag race one for reality competition program and that was very exciting you know after like almost a decade of of kind of guerrilla cult support for that show it finally broke through the the membrane of of public consciousness is <hes> and this year Rupaul is likely to be nominated again alongside Allen for her really cruel game show where she makes people do stupid things for money and laughs at them. <hes> it's really it's really like it's like it's like bread. It's it's like something got ancient Rome. It's it's crazy. I had no idea yeah it's sadistic <hes> Jane Lynch for Hollywood game night and then interestingly Amy Poehler Nick Offerman for making it which was really cute kind of you know I don't know what you craft series sort of and then well they're just listed as queer eye and then prince for queer eye like so the the the the Fab five would be nominated as one unit and could potentially upset Rupaul or whoever else <hes> which you know. I don't know so that that narrative I think is kind of interesting you know the the emmys were slow to diversify their reality categories and now they're <hes> you know they're actually rewarding stuff that people seem invested in which is nice. I just don't know why Jerry Condo doesn't have more Emmy Buzz. That's a great question. I actually just imagine what she could honestly. I just like to see her on the red carpet. She'll be there anyway but but do you think she would like hold onto her statue or get rid of it. That's crazy thing like handed to somebody on the stage like let it go from her life. Well as I said we're going to be back to talk about the nominations as they come in a next Tuesday Richard Joel. You'll be off in Los Angeles <hes> receiving your Emmy. I believe is how that works so yes so congratulations anyway. We'll be back to talk about all of that hot and in the meantime you can find some fanfare dot com with <hes> the emmy predictions from you guys that will be going up later this week as well. "We are back. We're talking. We're recapping. The EMMY experience. We want you guys to feel like you were there with us. Yes, she were. You were and Michaud Michelle and I did all these things. Some of these people. It was a great experience, but it was weird for the Amazon a Monday night. I'd never got Sunday one. I don't know. I never got to the bottom of why it was on a Monday, but hey, listen, if you're going to give our show an award. You can have it on Monday any night anytime you want yet. Now we're up here. We gotta stay up here bitches. That's right, right. We owe it all to you guys that that listen to us and watch us in in love what we do, and and the hundred and forty the one hundred forty queens out there in the wild now doing their stuff every day and every night we see you, we love you and we can't thank you enough. But my favorite, I put a picture up on as like my banner on Facebook. I think of that one where you're like holding up all hungering. Yes, because yes, all shows are happy when they win amazing races, one, five thousand times voice one last year I'm talking about reality, but it's so funny that first of all grateful to the academy for having the reality competition showing in there because no other reality has it's the only one the company in the in the primetime Emmys yet they usually a lot all that stuff to the creative artists. No other reality competition. I mean, there's no other like real housewives and all that stuff. They're not up for Enron. So it's only reality competition, and I still think there should be one for best judges or judging panel, but okay, we'll work on that petition. My favorite thing was I go to really get presented our thing by Rick and Morty like we got because nobody gives us shit about our category like we don't get a star, although Rican Morty are stars in their own right. Ask glued crate, but at the end of the day, our category gets presented by cartoons. So when they said it coming up, you aren't there. I looked at Carson, I go, are we is our category getting presented by cartoons. He was too busy playing fortnight on his phone. So he he's like, what? Oh, I think so. And I note I said, you're not sinking in that cartoons are presented like Beavis and Butthead are giving us in ward. I just thought it was really fitting that, of course, that would have to our county, right? So Carson Daley is playing fortnight on his phone the whole time, not the whole time, but at some point, the awards do get a bit mundane. So I think that. Boys will be boys and their toys. And I said, what? What are you doing Carson? What are you doing? The complaint fortnight. Are you kidding me? But it was really a funny moment. So right. You know. I just say this the whole week was quite Adrain because you listen, you know, this is a company town, and when I'm going out to these parties and you do the same thing, we are shaking hands kissing ass suck and Shan law. He's gotta do just to get our names out there. So people will consider us for other job. I'll and it's harder. Listen, y'all listen and can be like, okay, you're rupaul right? And that's exactly how I feel because it's a lot easier for Renou. You went through years of it not being easy for you. That's why you are where you are. I'm still having to lick the balls now. Normally I just ignore the balls really. Again, I've been married for so long balls don't matter. Yeah, and the older they get the harder they fall. So for me, I'm still having to pay attention to the ball because people don't. They'll sale that girl. They don't know what I can do. So I'm still out there like really. Okay. Everybody on you. You guys all the all the big stars are doing the same thing..

"He has no idea that we broke for the border and he still stuck in the party on their homing may happen, and then finally turned around, oh, and he hangs up on and we all run off to the street. Oh my God. I couldn't get out of there sooner because by that time and that I don't know what time of night was that was at midnight at now. It was. Eleven eleven name even ten thirty. I had been on and talking. Yes, all day yes along, yes. So for me to sit and wait for someone to drunkenly try to take my picture, you know, almost got you want anything in Mike. I'm smiling the whole routine. I've been doing it all day. You have to. I could not get out of that part of it. Plus Lorne Michaels had just annoying keyword John. You're done sprayed with only one. I was a Lorne, Michaels. Skunk, holy water lifted his leg and you're done, meanwhile, okay, the creative Emmys where the week before on the Sunday before. So I went to all those parties that party and then the party's the weekend before because that. Okay, the EMI that grownup Emmys was on Monday, yes. So on Friday night, I went to the w party entertainment one. You want Tandy with. I went to variety and then it went out to the CIA party. All right. Danced for about forty, five minutes with Ben day, my eight, my other agent and had a great time. He's fun. Yeah. Then Saturday night, I didn't see him at the Emmys. Ben. Are these Jonathan? Yeah. Then Saturday I went to, I may have the days wrong, but I went to the BAFTA Afghans hardy with Tandy. You did want Saturday. You did with Tandy Sunday, you with your friend? Yes. So that's why an you? A gifting suite? It was downstairs at the Emmys. Oh, okay. Okay. Because the of the gifting suites in, you know, very well girl. They've been busted. Well, this is the thing. The only gifting suites that are really worth any Oscar. The motherfucking Oscar sets the other one, something at the Oscars are something some year. I don't know what it was. You ever do anything? No, I went to the Vanity. Fair party. You did something years ago years ago. I'm talking about when we were on the radio together because you had a gift bag that you got from doing something. Maybe it was MTV something and you gave me a bunch of your stuff from your. Gifting bag. Even I remember I remember Bruno's I'm ju on the way he knows. I love that shit. And the first time we went together, we went from me. Yeah, I only went. I only went 'cause Michelle with love. Yeah, serious. He gives me everything. I love it. My husband's always like go to the gifting. I brought lily last year in the problem with them is like literally the one for MTV had vibrators we'd an alcohol, so basically, well Lilley was like, can you get me wanna move? And I'm like, so mom's going to have to pose with jibe rate, right? Because when if they give you the gift, you have to pose as a celebrity if to pose with look what I have. So they could sell the to the person who owns the divide, the comfortable you can basically whoring yourself out, showed us uses vibrate. Yes, and I said, I won't buy a vibrator. Yes, Adam and eve very good, and they send it nondescript boxes. That's ri- Goethe Adam and eve and get your vibrators. Don't make your mother pose, but I don't smoke weed. I don't smoke cigarettes. I don't drink alcohol. The makeup is sometimes. Okay. Sometimes there's purpose. It's not worth me getting all dressed up and being out for a free if I asked him like pleasure out of being a Horia. Yes, I'm all for, yes. In this situation, it was like nut now. Well, listen, we've got more stories from the front of mind worries. The front of the EMMY showdown will going to take a break. We'll be right back after this. Everybody's talking about these Boll and branch sheets from the Wall Street Journal too fast company fours magazine. Everybody asked me about him. Are they really soft as you say they are? They absolutely are. They are the finest most beautiful sheets and they're not as expensive as those, you know, those crazy prices that you can pay for sheet like up two thousand dollars..

"We're talking about the Emmys. Wow, what a night by the time it was done as you know, a Saturday Night, Live Lorne Michaels. Produced this year's EMMY telecast. So at explains why all the Saturday Night Live people were in attendance and in the show host were because it was funny. Listen again on the saying kiss Emmys ask because I got no, no asset need to kiss, but being there and I didn't watch it. I was there. I laughed it many, Joe. Yes, that those boys did. Yeah. The news boy, so it's dry wit. It's really sarcastic and dry wit, and I liked that not my root can do no wrong in my book will you know she was originally supposed to be in our skit, but they cut it at the last minute. Well, the ski that ski the skit was cute young as fine. It was fine. Yes, she did her thing with Fred, I wanna talk about the after party. Well, I I know where you're going. So let's do the first moment. Will you? 'cause we went to the Netflix, Netflix party, I, but I think we got there kind of early. You think so? Yeah, because I heard that the Popo shut it down. Right? So we left at the right time left. We got there at the right, but I tell you some about Netflix, bitch. They don't play around. They had a full make as you want sushi bar like it was not no pigs in blankets. Sushi bar really nice stuff. We ran into Tommy Dorfman and Catherine forgive me length leg for. Yeah, further Langford, one of them from thirteen reasons by love Tommy. So it was lovely seeing them and then alyssum Latta was there with her hubby. David, then we, we grow from dear white people. Alot game frowning. We love her. She, that girl is so beautiful. She was with her momma? Yeah, Fred Armentony and castle, Leon friends are friends of, oh, no, we got to meet with the big ball, his head flicks yet. Ted say his name show. It's it's a Greek. Let you say serandon does not Sarana Serena's. Okay. She's gonna look it up and because we'll say it wrong. Lovely wife for that was great. Jeez, that's Randolph. Yeah. Say Randolph's UC set it right. I've been saying that Sorrento's. No, he told you there was no d. you said Ted Saranda. She were right. Oh, no. He said he said no day. He's he's in love with the d. he loves the d I had her, yes, it a big deal or a little deal. Alley. Oh, all we got to meet him on the way out. Like everything was divine. Everything happened to especially if the pogo came and then we went to HBO then went to HBO which was clear across town, but let me preface it HBO every year is like is like the variety like it's the hardest, the party varieties for the awesome Vanity Fair for the Oscars. It's the party for the Emmys even be huge, huge food stations everywhere, but people by this time, even though it was only half an hour later were it's an hour later an hour later after we left the awards, fair people at the b. O. party were lit. They were so drunk. So what happens is, yes, ruins a public figure..

No, she wasn't in her red carpet interview on e. Yeah, she's like only reason I'm here is to pick up Miami that I was not picking it up. That's a lie. You get your EMMY that day. They know? Yes. So you don't get an EMMY for like months? Yeah, they in grave it. Okay. I'm going to tell you let me maybe for your daytime. Emmys. They don't for the Emmys four the Emmys. If you win an EMMY, she won like a solo EMMY. You take the ME home that night, but she needs to by now the nameplate to put on the EMI. You know what I mean? It's comes right, right. So that's gonna come later. So she brought her EMMY thinking, she brought her EMMY to the EMMY thinking, oh, I can just get a nameplate made when like game of thrones is getting their nameplate main zoo. She went to the governor's ball and she was like, yo, I'm Tiffany. Here's my EMMY. Nameplate me up and they were like, no, and she got denied, but she did bring her own EMMY to the which is like a now. She's getting all this press for it, and I was like, she stole my shit. She checked my little more on brand for Tiffany haddish. It would have been sad if it had been guilty night for everybody knows you for you. They would just be like, just be like. Cruel, not. Everyone knows you not. Everybody listens to lady gang and knows how self deprecating you are and like, hell they're still you like lean to that and how it's funny. People just be like, oh my God. Want to lose. They'd be like, why is that girl from one life till here with me. Okay. A back to some. This is happening in the world. McDonalds changed its apple pie recipe and people on Twitter are. Like how much do they change it too much you. Apple pie is made with fewer ingredients such as sugar sliced one hundred percent American grown halls. "Good evening. Hello, everyone. Welcome to the seventy th primetime EMMY awards. I'm Colin. I'm Michael shake. Yeah. You know, it is an honor to be here sharing this night with the many, many talented and creative people in Hollywood who haven't been caught yet Colin Jost. And Michael j. co head writers of Saturday Night Live hosted the seventieth annual primetime EMMY awards Lucy NFL here. They hope to reverse the falling award, show ratings cars didn't work. Nobody wants to show. Well, again, they put it on like before jeopardy. Just like in the middle of fucking Monday. Also, all of the television industry is in Los Angeles, so you know what people were doing at five o'clock making television. That's what I was doing. I was writing television at five o'clock, and I did not have time to in front of a television. It was crazy decision to put it on a fucking Monday because of what football is. If those two audiences really overlap, I was going to hear cut. I was driving home. I had a steel alive stream. You know that I need a word shows in order to live streams in. I'm gonna head my methods anyway. The show kicked off not even with. It was like the show said, we know y'all fuck about that. So this show kicked off with like Kate McKinnon coming out. Diversity is not a problem in Hollywood anymore. Nope. We saw. Is what..

"So I just talking about the month. I just that's my. That's my turrets. So I said, what are we about to do? And she said, well, we're going to go on this little press line and about two hundred people are gonna take your photo and for all the publications. And I said, well, the probably gonna take your photo. Probably not mine. She was so cool. She just grabbed my arm. She goes, no, you're with me and I walked onto this red carpet thing and about two hundred photographers or going to Trajan just taking my picture. And then I had this fun moment where then she goes, okay, I'm gonna leave you. Now I'm going to walk over this way and as she walked away all two hundred lenses followed her. I was standing there like waving, and one guy just looked at me and had pity and went to and just took my picture. And then that was it. Now the difference is the he's now I had Emma, yeah. And now we got our photos taken and that'll be the photo that you see there yelling over here over here over here over here, all tall guy move over over. No, he's very well organized actually, because you were officially nominated, you know, they do anticipate the nominees, no big famous actors because is the creative side of they TV achievement. So you have sound and they do really, really want interview people and take photos because there are all these well, I mean, you weren't feed, and and so, yeah, you have to go on the red carpet. And then there were these stars down. If God forbid, you get to go in the red carpet, this three stars look for the stone stands done action stars. They're on their to eastern star. You look up and you just breathe in and hope for the best. And then because honestly, it's terrifying. It's a lot of flushes, you know what's crazy too is because people don't understand is how long of an experiences from the time you get there to the end of the awards. How long would you say you were there even talking about the Boston? That's just the end of the awards. It's a long day to the on because we'll Zelaya so this horrid traffic. So you're going to set off now before you get that, but also the right cop. It goes on for at least two, maybe three hours because a lot of people get through and then so I'm not joking. The first thing a lady said when we got that, we've just got to the red carpet, and she said, well, the good news is is AC inside and that's how hot the right copy was like, nobody wanted to be the. It was sweltering. It's two o'clock in the afternoon in Los Angeles, which is just really stiflingly hot, and we got to go in and get a cold beverage. Well, the press AllState outside, and he is waiting. To remember the press addressed up to their antics seed is women are in gowns on the make up is just pouring off. The face has getting flat, and I just thought thank God him with by now, are the are the celebrities stars also just walking around or is there do they sort of cordoned off in another area? No, everybody's everybody's on the same level. I mean, the EMMY that I was up for is the it's the same statues. Bryan Cranston gets to take home what I'm saying like you could be standing there and he just Bryan. Cranston just walks by. Absolutely. That's put the sound guys over here. Everybody's welcome. Is one big EMMY soup and you James code in that, and it was a real mix actually will pull they gave out best comedy actor. I think they gave out best. I don't wanna spoil it, although happens, that's why their workflows are really fun. I mean, I one of my favorite moments from that other award show that may or may not have asked the award that I didn't win. I remember standing on line in the men's room and just wasn't really thinking and was waiting there. And the guy in front of me just turns around he goes, could you think you're going to get? And I went and there were three urinals and it was Sidney Portier Harrison Ford and Bano, and I'm like, oh my God. Who am I gonna get you get to p p after which is very citing voice..

"Out, and enjoy the show. Hello. Welcome. It's tricky, fun time. Dan done on side and the Patterson, Emma. How are you? I'm so excited, very exciting stuff going on today. We are coming at you from a palatial estate up in the hills of Beverly Hills, right? Remember he'll be out right up in the hills we are in. We're out there, outline squirrels lots of wildlife going on this palatial estate happens to belong to the fine folks at Ferrari. Not the car company, the sparkling wine company. We're telling you all about that in just a little bit. Why were here and all that. But speaking of Ferrari. How about our right up here? Oh, my goodness. Yeah, we weren't into Ferrari. I think it was like a nine hundred eighty two Voyager minivan our driver. Let's see everybody out there is taken lift in Uber. We all we're all familiar with this is that this rates in my top three scariest of all time, how where would you put this. I would say we'll put it this way. I sent a text message to my mum's isn't sure whether we were going to make. Here, let's raise a toast to living this is being alive to his. I didn't think it was. Here we go. Cheers, and we are here because it's Emmys. It's EMMY season. It's not my season. No, it's it is any people who don't live in Hollywood. EMMY says a big, big deal. It's not the else goes now. It is equivalent. It is a celebration of the achievements of people and the writers on TV in TV by the time you hear, this will happen probably last night. 'cause I know everybody listens to it today. The show comes out. So the reason we're doing this is besides we live in l. a. and we want to celebrate the big award season, but we've got a special week, got a lot of connections to, I'm going to the. We'll have been to the weird time space. Continuum thing going on producer beau was at the creative Emmys. It's like the little. It's like the mini Miami's that were held last on. That's not a fact they give out a billion Emmys. There's there's so many more. After an avid three nights. So they did the first last Saturday empty spot was nominated and you went to? I did. I got to guy because you go to the prime time. So I got to. It was. I mean this trying to think, how do explain what it was like to anyone is note Bain. And it reminded me a bit of my, my college university, graduation, your old dressed up and uncomfortable in your outfit. And there's a lot of sort of like anxious waiting, but really excited. And it's funny because when when they tell you whether or not you know you, your nomination comes up. Does a moment when you probably I believe you actually genuinely don't want to win because suddenly the thought of getting up and walking up and getting that would seem so awful. And then let's say, you agree you shaking, you said no, he's like, I would have liked to have one. Let's bring him on. He was nominated for some mixing for the TV show Waco. Congratulations both. Thank you. Did you not want to win? Oh, God are wanted to win absolute. You guys looked great and I can we, there was a fantastic picture you had. Can we put that on Instagram? We're going to put that on its screaming. Odyssey producer, Bill and Emma looked..

"And then resigned matter, I think gets lost in the shuffle because of, you know, just he was in the night of and he was also amazing in rogue one as well. He won for outstanding lead actor in limited series for the night of, and he was the first Asian or the first South Asian male to win an acting award at the Emmys, and then him and Dave Chapelle became the first Muslims to win acting awards and a med being in the first Muslim to win a lead, acting award Chapelle being the first to win a guest role for his role Saturday Night Live. So there are a lot of firsts and a lot of, you know, people of color and just a very diverse set of things happening at last year's EMMY award. So there was a lot going on. I almost totally forgotten about this year is going to be a little different another switched hosts this year. How do you feel about that? Okay. So Michael j. Allen Jost won't just to me is like if thirty racket natty light and Sperry top siders had a baby. It's like. I didn't get all of America has strong feelings about Colin Jost until he said something stupid end in the internet lost its mind. I was like, we have so much pent up Jost aggression needing to come out. We are just waiting for the do something, so I find their their humor is often great on the weekend update. There's a lot of times that I love it, but then it's like nine times out of ten. I'm enjoying it that tenth time, unlike what is wrong with you when it's bad, it's really bad. Like they end it's the two of them will often say like the randomly just be really misogynist, or they'll just feel a blaming, I dunno, like gender non conforming people for Trump winning or something really stupid like that. Or, you know, just casually be like, you know, hashtag he to 'cause you know, m, you don't need to be political on. I'm just making. That's not actually might whenever people make dumb jokes like that. Unlike first of all on fended because you weren't. Actually funny but joke, if it's gonna be a choke Colin Chad, Billy Bob, it should be funny, and it wasn't funny. You should make us laugh. But yeah, I just thought it was dumb. I also think like the saddest part of that is that conscious is actually probably right. Like effects that a bunch of people are like actively defending less moon best right now. Unless you're like panel, I think ignore McDonald might have a point in like, you know, we shouldn't be quite so mean to Louis CK like man's gotta eat with his bazillions of dollars. Hello, possibly feed himself and his family. I think they just actually has our number a little bit more than we'd like to admit in the, you know, he's bit of the population is he's got red dead to rights, which is unfortunate. I will be curious to see if they will like what they'll do with their act because they were like excited about not being political all. Also there were for some reason trashing on award shows, which I think was supposed to be like either funny or them being like bad boys or something like we don't even want his gig, which is a weird weird thing to do when you're given a job. I've a feeling that they're going to end up doing exactly what we I thought they would do when we when they got the gig of like basically weekend update. But for the. The. Rehired for. So you don't think they're gonna. And then I think that the just a strong backlash that they got, and like I say my favorite saying that came out of all this was that the specific genre of like Colin Jost in conjunction with scarlet for Hanson jokes, like most of which just had to do with the idea of Scarlett Johansson appropriating other cultures in just playing people of color were really enjoyable if the internet a little bit, we're gonna work. That's dinner. Does do something sometimes before we get into the nominations for this year, this upcoming weeks Emmys they had the creative arts Emmys last weekend last Saturday and Sunday, which is mostly to honor..

"Hey, everybody. It's Justin back from my extended hiatus, taking a little break from all things May Day, but now I am back. Thank you to Donna and Sarah and crystal for holding down the social media game while I was off, but it is fantastic to be back recording podcast again for all of you guys out there. The Emmys are coming on Monday, September seventeenth wanted to do little EMMY preview show. So I called up my friend Delia Harrington who writes for the website din of geek. Now, you may have heard her on some of our previous podcasts. If you listen in season one, if not, she's fantastic and you will love her. We love her and we asked her. She could join us to talk about the Emmys and what was really supposed to be. One podcast has turned into basically a three part conversation because we didn't get to talk to deal you the season in the season of the show, which we usually try and do so using the Emmys is kind of our centerpiece. We dove into all kinds of things talking about some movies and TV shows that we had. Seen in recommended and wanted to talk about and our feelings on Handmaid's tale in season two. And we dove into the study from the women's media center about the disparity and male to female, EMMY nominees. So all kinds of stuff plus all the coverage of the preview of the Emmys. Looking back at last year's Emmys would happen. They're looking to the nominees for this year and the winners of already at the arts Emmys. So lots of stuff. So this is part one and hope you all enjoy it and big, thanks to do your Harrington again. So please follow us on social media at Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You can find us at at handmade podcasts at handmade podcast. We'll be doing something fun for the Emmys verse still planned it out. So stick with us just follow us on social media and we will have all the updated information. Thanks again and it to be back. Everybody enjoyed the podcast, everyone. It's Justin fulcrum sameday I've been gone for a long time deal. You do know that I've, this is my first podcast and like. Six weeks almost two months. It's it's incredible. The last one I did was for the finale of the show I think where we actually recorded. So you're my first person back because Tiana in the crystal could not be here tonight. So I figured we'd roll with deal you're Harrington. So doing Harrington is good friend of ours. We did not get to speak with her. I don't think at all this season do we even talk the season. I don't think we did not for for May Day for the of the viewer snow. We did not. We talked on line to each other, but not for the good of the people. That's mostly because Delia does a lot of things. She is a writer, photographer, activists and professional feminist issue like say, she writes for the website din of geek, she covers Handmaid's tale in many, many, many, many, many, I know how many minis put in here, but many other shows and things and writes about a lot of things. So tell the people what you're writing about now and all the other things you're covering. Sure. I would doing a lot of movie reviews lately. I did a lot of Netflix originals. Summer if you have been flying in love with all the boys of love before I got to write about that that to write about glo one hundred. I love a good plus apocalyptic CW show mama. Mia, trying to keep it light and enjoy all things. Wonderful and bunkers, a sprayed, another movie that I really love totally different tone. But you have been Jane a lot lot of movies and actually opening depending on when you listening to. This could be opening today or it's already in theaters a simple favor who also. How was that? I really enjoyed that in spite of the fact that it looks like murder murder fund time its emphasis on the fun time. There's definitely murder but also love them though. The trailer is not really the lewd too much fun time..

"Is of course drag race for your consideration which is the emmy push that everybody in tv is in full swing with right now and honestly i just felt like tyra said everything i could have said about this and then some plus the perspective of somebody who has been on the show and not just been on but wanted and when she straight up said you're the host of a show that you couldn't win without somebody else getting together i said oh my really do enjoy drag race a lot but as somebody who has watched the show for a while but just now really like standing in like every episode just like so deep into the racial stuff has been very obvious to me from day one from episode watch every season and it was always like there was always like i remember like very very early on starting the to feel like something was just if he as far as the black queens were concerned and stuff like that but then i was like no 'cause bb oneseason one entira one and repalce black like no as things went along you like it's just it's just like like this isn't really making him yes that doesn't make any fucking this season it don't make no sense that we started out with all these black and brown queens and now we are down to one but is it is it confirmed that this is the most black means that have started in i'm just assuming but i feel like because i don't remember seeing so many black we so many and you sat there and use that double save on your rica and not dusty right bottoms eureka in a camry wasn't that the versus regained cameron like brew paul is going out of his way to make sure the white queen's feel supportive with a mediocre if did up and protect it and what she was saying about the the social media stuff is so real the only black queen who has more than a million followers is rupaul the rest of these girls out here making big big chicks and the black girls have to take whatever scraps they can whatever's leftover i'll get together and do their own show i know vixen had a show called black girl man chicago this week are really considered like getting a ticket overnight ready to do would have gone because the lineup i was just like wait a minute this is i wanna see everyone right so i'm just really glad that somebody who has personal experience with the show and personal experience with rupaul said all the things that i was thinking and i will really have to consider whether i support this show in the future like i will really have to think about where this goes because i feel the same way and what i really wanna see is white queen speak up and be like hey my fans are really racist and like even just telling them if y'all could simmer the fuck down and stop saying crazy shit's competitors on this show like but they don't do that people let their fans say whatever they let whatever races shit right nobody is really trying to curb any of that you just let it all go and then for ru to be sitting here coddling these girls on stage for the rest of us and then hollering at vixen and asia asia was in tears like why do i really have to defend this this person's person why do i have to sit in a room full of gay magazine dresses in weeks and sit here and talk to you about why we should not let one of our sisters feel this way i remember really wasn't even that long ago that ripon got into trouble for saying something about a trans woman and drive women wouldn't be welcome on drag right and and laverne cox posted about it on instagram like levy rule but you're wrong on this one women are huge part of the culture like a huge part of the folk and culture and all top of that you've had sister under women on the fucking show that you had them put in drag one time once season talent so why can they do drag why can they be a part of the culture but transgender women cannot especially because you just have to assume and i know that rupaul noses as long as rupaul been around right that there are lots of not aquaria okay now queer aquaria was born probably when this show started quirks.
