QAnon backer wins congressional primary in Georgia
"In Georgia, a supporter of the debunked conspiracy theory. Q and on has won the Republican primary in a congressional district from member station W. E B E In Atlanta, Emma heard reports Marjorie Taylor Greene won despite a lack of support from many national and state Republican leaders. Green moved her campaign from suburban Atlanta to northwest Georgia in December and spent nearly a $1,000,000 of her own money on the race. The construction executive caught national attention for calling newly elected members of Congress a quote Islamic invasion into the government. Her words lost an endorsement, and several GOP leaders condemned them. But Green still won the primary by a wide margin in an overwhelmingly conservative district. Emma Hurd

"Ninety seven seven eight to the house managers laying out their case for impeachment the Senate trial what did you do this ABC news correspondent Serena Marshall joint call was retained size from Washington DC with the answer the whole purpose of the house democratic managers argument was how what president trump did applies to article one the abuse of power charges yesterday we heard from them about the time line a painted a picture they laid out the evidence that they collected during the DMP to proceedings and the house today they were tying in those specific element to the specific date and time lines and statements Q. article one abuse of power in a red Michael book report like a title page they had that they had video they had a flood of the of documents and and video testimony than memos in email they were really pounding it the senators to try and make them understand where their arguments recounting from but remember it to the audience here isn't just the senators sitting in the room is not just a one hundred and elected members it is the American people they think by painting into the picture almost describing it like a movie line that where you see a B. C. D. they can convince people that the president abused his power and is therefore an impeachable offense in and doesn't require a crime to be an impeachable offense and in fact at one point they actually quoted members of the president's own legal team comments that were made by Alan Dershowitz back in the nineties and then they played a video clip of presidential Ali Lindsey Graham also back in the nineties thing you don't need a crime for it to be an impeachable offense and abuse of power is an impeachable offense Serena is there the sense at all that there are some GOP senators are paying a little closer attention to this and perhaps might be swayed to vote for impeachment what interesting yesterday we heard from a one GOP senator can John Kennedy and he said if you pull the centers on an eternal tell you they've not read the transcript of the house hearings in the temple and is lying to you so for many of them this is the first time they're seen the house managers arguments for why the president should be impeached and we thought that in the past during the impeachment proceedings in the house and we last edited by the book I did see that you're at I'm gonna be a juror so I'm not going to get involved or make any comment this is one of them is explicitly saying no I did not pay attention and many of us didn't pay attention to this is the first time that we're hearing the prosecution case and reading the document associated at reading the depositions and and hearing from these witnesses the house managers had called as part of their case over in the house impeachment proceedings is really interesting for them to be admitting that but they also in the same breath sometime today but we haven't heard from the president so when will that happen does look like the house managers will take their full eight hours tomorrow or when might we hear from the other side well today it all about article one abuse of power and tomorrow we're expected to have them focus all on article Q. obstruction of Congress so it will be likely to take a big chunk of tomorrow as well just as they are today now after when the president's team goes back to star on Saturday but now we're hearing from some GOP sources that in fact they might actually be pushing that time line a little bit they're actively considering an abbreviated session this Saturday or possibly eliminating it all together and starting fresh on Monday and then after the president's team gets their time and that's when the senators get to ask.

"So you SMCA was passed by the house they were recording this on Thursday the show will pop tomorrow I want to read you two quotes about the agreement how it was negotiated an amended in conversations with house Democrats Mitch McConnell the Senate Majority Leader often comes up our conversation tonight not as good as I had hoped direct quote Nancy Pelosi speaker of the house we ate their lunch and as I pointed out in relation the last quote she ate our lunch in our diner now the conversations over many months on your SMCA this revolutionary trade deal for the twenty first century involved a simple reality that we all had to face said beginning at twenty nineteen Democrats are taking over the house Republicans retain the sun we have this transforming a transformational trade deals available for action in Canada and the United States and Mexico what the Democrats in the house needed to both closely review it and then place their policy stamp in it as part of the conversations in order make sure in all three capital so we'll be able to be adopted and and culture of the ratified so ambassador light Heiser created a strong working relationship with the speaker and ultimately are working to while juggling two other capitals at the same time and working through a variety months in good faith conversations with house Democrats as well as working hard as best he could to keep the rest of Congress updated it is been said the president and the speaker of the never never talked about this directly is that true I think that's correct as far as on that matter major such as Senate hope that they didn't talk to my point being that you said this is we're going to break the president has created these relationships they don't get a lot of attention I believe that's true because I know the president calls members of Congress all the time quite unexpectedly in ways his predecessor per president Obama never did you know that and I know the yes or there was a question is was it intentional invalid let's also practical did help that the principles were not involved in other people who had the trust of their leadership and the mandate did it themselves on that and then reported back up on this issue the president made a calculated decision to put the most expert individual on the job to negotiate directly with this and the most trusted one speaker Pelosi call Robert white hi Sir a straight shooter and a broker absolutely so it's a very powerful and very significant relationship here what the president was fully apprised fully in poor inform fully interactive line on all the concessions many many other members as we went through that as as you know at the end this came together incredibly rapidly so the challenge while this is developing real time when you have Bob down in Mexico City public forum members right so while he's on the plane to and then in Mexico City getting on the phone and at least three quickly briefing Republicans and Democrats house and Senate something that we made sure what actually happened so even though members at the end remember we just came out of thanksgiving read it out to try to move on I had so then when this occurs very quickly making sure that Bob's able to both explain what's going on a very high level and as soon as he gets back into town be able to get up on the hill and explain more deeply what Democrats with Republicans with house with Senate with leadership something we try to make sure and I think successfully executed down people have their opinions rightly found that I'm not here to quarrel with that about whether or not they like certain adjustments to the trade deal but the reality is when you're working with members of the other party and trying to find common ground your going to make adjustments that may not all actions have been as easy to contemplate in session we'll see I endorsing it with the present even himself raised well there are a variety of things that the head of the air AFL-CIO saw that were dismissed out of hand right we're not really you are not matters that we wanted to entertain nor do we consider so for example a very significant piece of pension legislation pension bailout legislation some would say was a significant demand of Mr trump can others throughout these conversations Richard Sherman at the a wing Sergio correct we took a look at it we went through a very thoughtful process the president was part of these conversations awfully decided that for what your priorities inside the U. S. M. C. A. at a way to forge a path forward also relate to find common ground the idea of incorporating that into the arrangement was not something is going to find players to with the trump administration I'm fascinated endlessly Eric as you well know because we've known each other for many years about how things get done in the underlying structures and many of my audience might ask themselves wait a minute let's say let me get this straight you're negotiating a trade deal while the president's being impeached in negotiating the continuation of government spending lots of give and take trust has to be established you're also negotiating a national defense authorization act which has not only defense implications but things like federal family paid leave all of which is occurring while this impeachment drama is playing out explain why what is how that happens how you can have the intensity the sort of acetylene torch heats of impeachment and all these other given take trusting negotiations going on at precisely the same time it's certainly a unique moment in history and I'm sure many years from now folks will investigated and try to come to conclusions about how that some of us might even write a book about it maybe one or two of us all over over the years and the audience listen what screen wife is a way of life in Washington DC sometimes the stakes are much more significant than others other times but never lies many things are going on at the same time when the president asked me to take this role on on his behalf one of the things he charged me with was being very thoughtful about attempting to pull off as many of his priorities as we could under his leadership in the summer and fall of twenty nineteen and so we set about to do that so after analyzing a variety of his priorities and understanding the best way forward in Congress and some of their priorities he ultimately agreed that during the course of twenty nineteen we ought to be able to with hard work Olaf creating a space for we ought to with creativity a lot of hard work be able to set a fiscal year twenty twenty in fiscal year twenty twenty one this will frame which were able to do he thought it was very important that with a lot of hard work we could have the ability to land significant health policy reforms and so and and many other priorities beside so after he gave us that direction we set out along those lines to accomplish that red opportunities available to us Democrats newly charge of the house Republican still in charge with by any chance majority in the Senate many of the newly elected Democrats in the house came from district one everyone nice correct thirty one districts so a lot of still significant support in those districts for the president that these newly elected members how to pay

So to me at one of our retreats was that we Democrats. No so much that is true. And we have to kind of tell everybody. How smart we are? And so we have a tendency to to be very left brain. Yes. Yes. See the reason that there is a problem within the voter base of you know, regular Joe six packs. Gravitating towards the Democratic Party is because Joe six pack. Is run one hundred percent on emotion, and frankly is intimidated by the vast knowledge intelligence and superior intellect of Democrats. So it's. It's it's a tough. It's a tough road to hoe. That literally is the reason the words coming out of your mouth, what a self fulfilling prophecy, if I've ever heard one right there. Well, the reason that we can't connect with the knuckle draggers is because we're just so much smarter than them. And they're scared. They're scared of our intelligence. Is that true? White House Must Reinstate Jim Acosta’s Credentials, Judge Rules
"But what exactly did the judge decide today while the judge did not decide the key first amendment question, which was CNN and Jim Acosta were alleging that it cost us. First amendment rights had been violated when the White House unceremoniously withdrew his hard passer or press credential for the White House. The judge did say his fifth amendment or due process rights reviled in that he was not putting through not put through a process. In fact, the White House currently has no process for the orderly revocation of. Credentials for journalists? So we've got other hearings to come. But the great news today is the Jim Acosta got us get credentials back. He's back at work at the White House. Where it belongs are you aware as to whether the judge indicated one way or another how things might proceed if the White House were to were to challenge. And if there is a question about the first amendment. He did say this morning in his ruling that the plaintiffs CNN and the cost of made some very compelling arguments, which is leading a lot of observers to say that CNN has a very good chance. Anacostia have a very good chance of winning in the next phases and winning a permanent injunction. Permanently returning his press credential. Now, the president did respond to this. He said in response to this decision today that he and his staff may just leave press briefings altogether, if they're interrupted or if he feels are being treated poorly is this something that we've seen before. Well, we've never seen it at this level. I mean, but but the entire Trump administration and the entire political and ideological era in which we live now is like Nick Sonian times on steroids. And so we've we've seen spats with reporters and the the White House in the past. "Leah's as we get more going to update you on that also tonight the clock ticking on the Florida recount but deadline is now less than twenty four hours away. So the legal battles raging at this hour as a Republican governor Rick Scott already declares himself. The winner appearing on Capitol Hill today with the newly elected members to the Senate. It was like a formal thing for those who were newly elected, obviously, he has not been certified as the winner. But he was there even though his race hasn't been called up front. Now, Mitchell burger attorney for the Florida Democratic Party who was also an attorney for Al Gore during the two thousand Florida recount Gadhafi. With me last night. We talked to go get show from Rick Scott's team. And I'm glad to have you on Mitchell. Give the Nelson side of things. Governor Scott told a judge this morning. He recused himself from certifying the final election results, obviously in his current role. As governor of the state Democrats have been calling this for a while. Is it enough for you? Well, it's a good start. We have these nightmare experiences of job Bush and Catherine Howard's from two thousand and with the governor constantly accusing everyone of fraudulent activity. It would be appropriate for him to be part of the certifying group. But it's a very good start. But when you say a start, I mean, I just want to understand and gal made this point last night, sixty seven counties in Florida each of them have stayed officers. They are elected locally to oversee elections. I mean, in other words governor Scott is not deciding who's overseeing the elections. He doesn't actually have a role in overseeing the election. So what more could he do? Well, no, he amongst other things he could stop accusing everyone of fraudulent activity in connection with the election, including the various supervisors of elections who are tempting right now despite enormous pressures constant lawsuits to finish the job in order. And if he won in order to have him seeded, but he is constantly suing people constantly dragging them into court. His lawyers are subpoenaing people to come to court when at the same time they're trying to do wreak the recount work. That's required by state law. So there's the issue doing that. If he stopped doing that. Maybe we could get the job done. There's the issue of fraud. There's also the issue of whether there's a chance for Nelson to win. I want to talk about each of those first the secretary of state in Florida has asked for a federal investigation into allegations at some voters were said, we're told hey you. Can mail your ballot in and you can as long as you do it by November eighth which is three days later than the actual deadline. Right. So they were given three extra days allegations. Are these are some voters voters who were gonna vote democrat did the Florida Democratic Party of anything to do with this? The Florida Democratic Party has been accused of doing something about it with this. And it takes the accusation seriously. And we we found out about it today as well. And we're finding out if anyone had anything to do with it. And will if that is the case we're going to take appropriate action. But it is not something that anyone was certainly at the higher levels was aware of what's going on. Okay. Now to the issue of Nelson winning obviously, we want to make sure solid handled appropriately and that's important on principle. And it's also important when a race is indeed so close that it could be changed by a recount. But in this case Bill Nelson is behind by twelve thousand five hundred votes. You look at the history of Florida, you know, better than anybody Forty-six hundred statewide general elections. In fifteen years recount in less than thirty of them. And only three recounts change the end result..

"They've already approved a five hundred million dollar budget things of that sort seem way out of whack i mean i guess if there are elected members of congress have taken an interest in this that's a good thing but at some stage at an early stage there are risks if it comes out that someone's working on it because there are opponents to this who would like to stop it i would think sure well first of all let me let me say the champ think you for the kind words jan i can assure you i as much as i appreciate it i am not a hero however i did get a chance to work with some actual heroes at the pentagon and and throughout my my career with the department of defense the true heroes are the ones that are doing stay in a day out they don't get any accolades they're working till twelve o'clock at night independent for the pentagon all over the world and that's our fine service members in uniform and in and out of uniform whether you're wearing combat boots or sneakers it doesn't matter you're serving your country some way and those folks are true true american heroes and i'll tell you another thing as well talking about congress i can't speak on behalf of congress but i can tell you any member of congress who's courageous enough to take this up is a true american hero and that is what we need we need to give them the encouragement to to look at this objectively look it's fairly look at it with a with a scientific mind and make the determination that this is something we need to look at from a national security perspective and from from humanity perspective there are all sorts of applications you know now that i'm a civilian i don't have to look at this only through the lens of national security and is it a threat now i can look at it on on other marriage as well and as far as the rumors are concerned i don't usually pay attention to rumors but you what they say right usually there's some grain of truth with with rumors if members of congress are looking at this i hope that we would give them some degree of privacy so they can look at this information without having any type of political pressure or or something like that that's coming from maybe some of their constituents because a lot of people are very very emotional about this topic and and rightfully so but i would hope that those folks in congress if they are being briefed on this that they get a chance to look at all the data not just a bitch and pieces of the data because there is a lot and it's not just what the department of defense or other agencies and organizations that have information as well that i can privy to and and and let them come to the conclusion themselves i think once they see all the data and they talked to all the people and you know folks like day framer who are absolute heroes know those folks those are true here's the day favors in the gym slates of the world and by the way there's a lot more but they haven't come publicly forward so i want to protect the privacy but those are the true heroes these are the folks that are putting their their credibility and their professions on the line to tell the american people what they saw and i think that's tremendous and i think the members of congress if they are indeed receiving some of this information if they get a chance to talk to them themselves they will come to the same conclusion that my office came to and i'm not sure there's really any other conclusion you can come to put you on the spot then can you say if you have been asked to testify if you appeared before any committee and given information i think that is a question that probably you would probably want to ask congress and the reason why i say that out of respect for congress whether they have or they have not i wouldn't want to say something that put somebody else in the position of now they have.

"You where you live where you live it's so you know we know where you live here's a seventy six year old man right is a seventy six year old man who has been duly elected by his country which is a democratic free democratic republic to be senator he's been in there who knows i can't even remember how long but he is now the senate majority leader so respected member of duly duly elected member of our law legislature and their surrounding the seventy six year old man shouting and we know where you live if you were doing that you are a thug it's not trump's fault your thug it's not mitch's falter thud you are a thug the mayor of durban north carolina is trying to shut down jordan peterson speech because he disagrees with jordan peterson and he calls them all these names like the left does all those names like racist and homophobic and transfer it just mean i disagree with you so he disagrees so he's going to shut them down well if jordan peterson disagrees with the mayor of durban does he shut him down no why because the mayor of durban is a thug the mayor of durban is acting like a fascist if you were chasing people steve bannon got chased out of a bookstore the founder of the walkaway movement this guy brandon straka was in new york he was at a camera store and they wouldn't serve him you know it's not on trump it's not trump's fault if you suck you know if you gang up on women in movie theaters you're a bully it's not on trump you are a bully if you harass duly elected public officials in restaurants are thug if you oppose free speech like the new york times does for anyone who disagrees with you if you shout people down at colleges if you attack them it's not trump who's the fascist it's you you are what you do you know i mean i think it's it's time it really is and why why how did you become like this you think you're a good person how'd you become a bad person well it's gotta be gotta be your ideas it's got to be your philosophy you know socialism he socialism is not wrong because it doesn't work it doesn't work but it's also wrong it is wrong just like slavery is wrong it's wrong for exactly the same reasons you need slavery in movies about slavery they always try to tell you how bad slavery is by showing people get whipped and brutalized but slavery was in bad because people got whipped brutalize slavery people got whipped and brutalize because slavery was bad that's why that happened because when he went to control people when you wanna take people's freedoms away when you want then to become instruments of your will you have to abuse them and enslave them so what what does it mean when you talk about slavery why slavery wrong slavery is wrong because people should be free that is self evident we hold that as a self evident truth that people should be free what does it mean for people to be free it means you cannot use superior force to force them to do what you want them to do now obviously there's some limits on people's behavior you can't murder somebody who can't physically attack somebody but we want to keep those as small as possible those limitations as small as possible the fact that summer needed is not an excuse to have people to control people's behavior altogether slavery is wrong because it is wrong for people with superior power to tell people with less power to use that our to force people to do what they want why does that include property you know sometimes people don't know about this includes property because your life is made of time your life that's all you have in life is time when your time is up your life is over that's it so when you.

"If rosen steam walked in there you're deputy attorney general and threatened members of congress with his own subpoena as a vindictive act rather than an appropriate procedural maneuver oh my gosh what what what what are we we're living in a police state now where the where the head of the justice department walks into congress starts threatening elected members of congress to subpoena their stuff mr sessions i'm i'm really sorry but that's no no no you going on tucker last night and defending what was potentially enact of of grotesque malfeasance now you need to take charge of that and if if someone who works in your department actually did that you need to take public stand on this he needs to be replaced in congress congress listen i i get it part of your job is to be castrated i get it like that's what you do you lose your guts you lose your nerve your spine is removed when you get up on capitol hill and most if not all but most of you typically become nothing but swamp spine the swamp creatures amoeba like structures right but you're gonna let and i'm not saying this is like when he's manley you're gonna remember in the street you're going to let them do that to your tony homeowner i'm not i'm not really i don't mean it this way but i mean more in a constitutional way you're gonna let the deputy attorney he's not even the attorney general you gotta let rod rosenstein walk in there and threaten you.

"Okay i don't understand it from a mythology perspectives so this is where i start to sound like somebody who is in category two offence right delightful movie so when you have a piece of science fiction or fantasy obviously you need to establish the rules of the universe as you get to know the rules of the universe gradually that can be a really wondrous experience for you as a viewer things you didn't think were possible or things you assumed weren't possible at all like can suddenly take shape and it's a delicate thing where you have to keep your credibility when they're something magical possible because magic shouldn't mean that everything is possible rate can then you know the movie can of loses it set of boundaries so we actually recently reward to be remastered terminator two anz k ultra terminator two which is out on four k bluray and blu ray and that movie i had forgotten how cool it is that they introduced without any exposition all the powers of the liquid metal terminator and like white like how it functions and the extra things that can do you're constantly discovering your and i think that was just very elegant the way that was done in that baby in this movie i feel like there are times when you learn new things about the force i'm not saying we have to be slavishly devoted to everything we already knew about the force and that's it you know the whole book has been written there are times when things feel like a natural additional extension to me the astro projection is one of them i totally by that he can do that because we seen things that are a little bit similar to that rate whistle movies look them kind of projecting each other through endorse luke yet elected member drums and that's the second thing that i thought was like really wicked call and i totally believed it because you've sort of seen people being each other's minds before and so this just feels like that but like built out a little bit further.

"But paul ryan never said a single word none of people about blake farah milk blake faran told not only tried to use his office to molest at least one woman that reassured him that and then who settled with him of uh eighty four thousand dollars of taxpayer money but beyond that uh blake blake farrant blake found told did not resign and does have and has no intention of resigning nor the poor wine more joined exactly i mean they're protecting their own right now with this guy and this this guy reading this women's career so aside from you know screw your up we psychologically or whatever he did in the in that way that's bad enough she she had a career she wasn't them an elected member of congress but she had been working for nine years in congress and before she ever met light blue uh blake ferrand toiletries where he what other members of congress she what is shunned from congress and has no job now and it is trying to make ends meet by babysitting this is your professional woman who had a good job and blake farag told made sure that that was over so i mean it we hit the unbelievable to me that ryan is carrying on and whining about john conyers and doesn't say a word who wine is responsible for wine is the head of his party could tell him go rejoined now go wrong why you go on tv and say and demand his resignation but instead doesn't even mention is made right one person we know odd who for whom eighty four thousand dollars was paid to a victim for his sexual harassment of her out of taxpayer money out of that special fund in the house or or in in congress so yeah the the hypocrisy is just stunning it it it it shows i think if you look at it on the surface that the democratic party is the one of the two who has integrity accept i think they did this for the wrong reasons i think they did this so that they could hold the higher moral ground if and when roy more gets into the senate and they can hold it above him oh hold you know donald trump's exploits above him but but i think they're going to fail on that front i think you're right i don't think the democrats regained reporting.
