"Retire young radio show and if your first time listener they stop by I am your host Joshua David and we are happy to have you with us today alongside me as I always have a great friend al conocen el how are you doing today what I am doing fantastic how bout yourself I'm doing good you almost I was gonna be the jointer behind it it's you that that was a bad people attempted Joe yeah that's what we were trying to do yeah it's always great to be back helping to retire young family make better investing decisions one of the things we do on the retire young radio show is we talk about financial literacy were raising awareness to financial illiteracy because a lot of people just don't know what to do with their finances whether they're in their working years or during retirement now I know we got a lot to cover today we had a big big week in the morning sing week and before we get into that and I know you have a lot of stuff but what's really happening in the financial markets in ways you can land you know utilize that to hopefully after upgrade your lifestyle but how are you helping people get started trading and investing because a lot of people just don't know where to start or how okay well let me start by saying that you know they did a lot of people are coming into these these classes these workshops that you're gonna be talking about today and they're saying things like this that there has to be a better way I just did a workshop a couple days ago and this guy said exactly this there must be something different I can do and a lot of people are worried about well exactly what happened this week you know we've had a market that has been you know pretty much on a a rocket ship ride to the moon and all of a sudden it decided to come back to earth so before we get our word about things like that and they're worried about knowing what to do they don't know what their options are or if there are any options if that's what they fought one of find out it's always there's always a fear of the unknown as well with exactly you know and that's just a human that's human nature everybody's afraid or concerned about things that they don't know it is but what people are doing they're they're just simply looking for an opportunity to do something different you know to be able to make a choice said man they want to be their choice to try to improve their financial situation and not have to rely on someone else well maybe someone they've they've never met before you know and and ultimately maybe that person determines the lifestyle that they live now in retirement and they want to make that choice that that themselves some of them might have lost big in the in the year two thousand eight when we went through the last recession in they've just basically lost trust in the financial advisors or or in the market or their ability to do something they just want to know if there's a chance that they can do better well the thing is to is people want to put the matters into their own hands not have someone else dictate their future well that that should think about it you know do you think a a broker or financial advisor that has maybe two hundred three hundred clients wakes up every morning thinking specifically about you and how to improve your financial situation I'd probably I would doubt that Bradley not to happen is I guess that that's that's true it's a yeah baby but we what we do then Josh we deliver that opportunity we provide education we help to develop the skills to use that education use that knowledge and then provide tools and resources that are designed to increase the probabilities of being successful and that's really what is key is having the probabilities in your favor you know you're asking you know what what we do or what I do I was just the other day just getting ready to plant a fishing trip this next summer I go up to Canada every year it just dawned on me that really what we do is basically the same thing that the guides that I use up there do I I fish on a lake that's huge is like seventy or eighty thousand acres hundreds if not thousands of miles of shoreline in hundreds of islands all of which look the same movie about two minutes away from the the dock your loss you have no idea where you are so you have to use a guide to help you get to where you want to go and then it depends on you know what kind of fish you're looking for are you looking for walleyes or or lake trout or more muskies you know when they will take you to the appropriate location what if it's too windy in the boat they can't hold a boat they'll go somewhere else what they're doing is they're taking new to a spot where you have the best opportunity to catch a fish now it's up to you to do that you know in the skills that you have in I bring my grand kids with and in four of the last five or ten years I about fished all my grandkids now they're starting to learn to do what I do in last year actually one of my grandkids out fish meat my guess is because you have the guide sitting next to you well it's just years of of knowing how to do it but that's the skill building part and that's really what we do we kind of guide you to that spot where you have the opportunity to be successful and then there are different situations in the market we we've seen it this last week the last couple weeks the market can go up you can go down it could go sideways in their opportunities all three directions if you are willing to put the effort into learning how to do it and it's just using the right assets and the the right strategies and you know we've seen some great opportunities in these markets in typically it's been on the up side but but things have changed and they they will continue to change I guess I would ask the listeners can you list the numerous ways to make money in a down market or a correction or bear market you know how to make money in an up market basically you just buy a stock or mutual fund the market goes up you make money but what about in a different kind of a situation where the market's going down or going sideways and those are the things that that people want to note that one of the assets you can use one of the strategies you can use you know how do you use that when do you use them most of the things that that are important and and think about it it did there are assets and strategies that you probably have not been exposed to you have no and no education in them but the Wall Street pros are using them they're using them to using them successfully and there's no reason why you can't learn how to do the same thing and have the opportunities that they have you know that these guys control Wall Street controls of the most probably seventy eighty percent of the trades out there you want to make sure that you're doing what they're doing just trade with them and don't do what they tell you to do do what they do and and how do you do that well we know that the number one thing that really impacts the price of an asset to the market really change switching price change in price is that relationship between supply and demand that's what our patented proprietary core strategy does it use a supply and demand inputs the probabilities and the opportunities of of having success in your favor and that's the thing I mean I know I know you mentioned this market we had a pretty big down week starting last week actually don't quote me but roughly around ten percent and I was doing actually doing a podcast earlier with why one of my good friends and we were talking about you know why it why people are afraid of it it's not it's not scary you shouldn't be afraid of down markets that's an opportunity we had we actually joke about it because you know you trade a based off the chart a good thing you can do is just try to turn the computer upside down then instead of just convert right yet I always say there's really no bad market is just making money in a different direction you're right and it's just having that that comfort but the confidence to do that and I'm it's really good that you talked about having a guide having a guide on a fishing trip or something that you need I do a lot of soul bill and on the mountains and there you go out there you got to have a guy that we you know where to go so you're safe and protect yourself and take advantage of the fun opportunities the same thing in the financial markets is take advantage of the of the opportunities that you have whether it's up down and sideways and I want to give away some tickets when investing class where you can start that process to learn how to get started trade invest in the markets and really taking matters of your own hand into your own hands and I want to give away some tickets to a class coming up here in your area and these are classes were we've taught thousands just like you our core strategy which is designed to teach you to make better investing decisions Schofield.

"UC, San Diego geology, and ju- physics, professor Neil Driscoll and his colleagues, realized cameras, and microwave, technology. They were using for earthquake monitoring could be useful for fires. Just says they have near infrared capabilities, which means they can see fire at night. These cameras can be driven by dispatchers from far field. So now we have is in the back country and all around the state that once we get a nine one, one call. We can then hunt for smoke and detect where the fires are. So the question becomes, how do you fight a fire in California? And there are a lot of different theories out there. Do we need to thin the forests more and the front page of the Sacramento? Bee by the way, has an. Article this morning talking about should California burn. It's way to protect against fires in the future controlled burns while they were. Right. So this is all part of this discussion, by the way on a clear day visibility sixty to eighty miles up to one hundred thirty miles at night. And Driscoll says that they're used to confirm for the nine one one phone calls nine one one call still beat artificial intelligence machine learning. And so the, the call comes into dispatch, they can then check and confirm the fire, so the witnesses, it makes the phone call. And it's still the most reliable, right? He says, one example was recently in the north bay a man driving a new S one spotted smoke. And he thought it was coming from pine mountain. We checked our cameras on pine mountain. There was no smoke. We jumped over to Jason cameras on geyser peak found the fire called the Coyote fire and we're able to suppress it within an hour. So he cites the deadly campfire. We all know way too much about that. The cedar fire in southern California. These are examples he says of devastation that could have been stopped two hundred eighty thousand acres and almost made it to the great Pacific water break. So we saw four years to the day, two thousand seven the witch fire also hundred eighty thousand acres, right? Almost the ocean. This cameras of good you so far, and more conscious one tool, right? All right. So the garbage Bill and one local city is skyrocketing in some cases quadrupling. What's going on? We'll have that story in three minutes. Always.
