I think that you know he did a decent job of coaching. This game He really didn't ladder In credit goes to the players as well for this but he didn't really let cabinet rank getting into his own zone his own. you know. Feel things during this game at all. Because as soon as i feel kevin durant you know And he was saying during the post game report that pretty much every time that The natural making a run. You know the Respond right back in. I feel like every time they were doing that. One kevin durant was always always doing their brooklyn. Add some on everything run on every single occasion and with that. I feel like coach boone. Hosur took notice of this and as soon as He he things going in there close to lake a four point deficit five point deficit six point deficit etc This this milwaukee bucks squad step up to the occasion whether that was no. Chris middleton janas or Hack even Pj tucker brook lopez. "You go make of that what you will be s- number to his job is to make everybody worship beast number one. He's the hype man verse eighteen. Which is the last verse of. The chapter refers to one of the beasts and it reads thus here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast for the number is that of a man and his number is six hundred. Sixty six This is dot is from the new american standard bible. Which is a version that focuses on literal translation of the original text. Was that his number because back then there were so few people that had phones. You only need it three digits. You only needed the three digits jerusalem. Six six six please. Mr burns had to put in his place of birth and he said it's exactly Now the new american standard bible from which that particular quote came hits many of the important notes i literally looked at more than a dozen different translations of that one verse because as the ding dongs Each present their stupid interpretations of the scripture a granular look at certain phrases becomes frustratingly narrate necessary for instance the first praise trend translated in the nasd and in the king. James and the american standard version etcetera as here is wisdom which seems to indicate that the verse itself is wise but other translations like the new new international version and the revised standard version. Start with this calls for wisdom has in. You'll need wisdom to discern this then there's very different. Those are very different. Then there's the number itself sometimes it's rendered as six hundred and sixty six or in king james's lofty version six hundred three score and six because they were fancy a that is to say they've written it out in words s i x etc. Sometimes it's written as the numerals six six six. Why is this important. Well truly. It isn't none of this is important. But here's the thing. Six six six is actually different from six hundred sixty six. Six hundred sixty six is one number six. Six six could be three numbers. Spoken back to back to back Those are two very different concepts and going back to the original greek. This is actually the single number six hundred sixty six. We'll get to that but that's just one of the things you need to know. Other disagreements between the translators Revolve around the greek word. See fees. oh don't at me which we translated earlier to calculate but other translations say count the number of the beast or reckon the number of the beast but that word can also mean vote. So maybe we all get to vote on what the no. That's the right number anyway. Incidentally it might not be the right number as uncle. Mark alluded to back in those doug segments of re revelation..

"Oh, that is awesome. That is Metallica. And Huey Lewis in a mash up done by a guy by the name of Bill McClintock, and you can check him out over on YouTube and he titles it James Hetfield in the news. Hip to be the sand and It's absolutely brilliant. Welcome back to the final segment of the altitude of Grab your cast on Am 9 70 the answer. He's got a bunch of these. Some of them aren't that great. Some of them are spot on. Fantastic. This guy. Bill McClintock does an amazing job with these mash ups, and he calls them McClintock's mashups. Fantastic. I love it. When I heard that the other day I could not stop laughing. There's also one of the Eiseley brothers. And motor head. Shout, and I'll leave it at that. Um, listen, So we've got our We've got our sons and Doug segment, which is always is our final segment of the program and first off before we dive into the beers. I want to thank the guys from the Rob Dibble show. Not only dibs, Ben Darnell Um, they're bored up whose name now escapes me. And I'm sorry. I'm I'm an idiot. He answers the phone every time and I don't remember because, Of course, I should have prepared for this segment. But of course, don't be me, doesn't but anyway The folks at the Rob Dibble show sent me Ah, bunch of Connecticut beers for Christmas time to thank me for coming on the program. I go on every once in a while. Talk about New York sports and dips his fifth actives and I go back a very, very long time. Probably. Um Wow. I first met Gibbs almost 20 years ago. I don't think he remembers the story. He was part of the ensemble of the Dan Patrick show and they were doing the show from the ESPN zone and we met chatted for a couple minutes. We had him on on some shows I was producing at ESPN radio and then got to really know him through doing these interviews that he's been with this Connecticut 98 70 S. P. M. In Connecticut. 97 9. Excuse me, 97 90 ESPN in Connecticut, and he's had me on to talk about New York sports and gives a great guy awesome. And they sent me these beers as a kind of thank you. And I really appreciate it love going on the program. We have a lot of fun with him on there. So let's dive into those 1st 1st time was back east Brewing Company this beer called Intergalactic a Lupin! Lupin! Eri on, Okay, I P a. I felt like it was a little astringent on the back. And I don't know if it was because of the fact that the beer was a little bit past where it should be drank. Or if it was something in the process, So a decent enough I pay, but the stringency was bothering me. On the back. End of it. When I was sipping it, then I had the jungle crush by city Steam Brewery. Slight hop, little juice. Little bit of pine. Good Citrus it on this one. Really, really nice color. To this one. So I that when I enjoyed a lot, um they also sent me naughty nurse by city Steam Brewery of Very Nice, Amber. Good caramel flavor on this one. I liked it a lot. I love the fact that there can art is kind of that. That old school black and white cartoon kind of can art, So I really enjoyed that so city steam bird good stuff from there, So that's just a couple that I had so far from them. There's a couple more than her in the fridge, but because I'm gonna dry January Kind of thing right now. We'll get to that a little bit later on, but But kudos again to the folks from the Rob Dibble show for sending me these piers. That was great. And I have guys if you're listening. I do have a little package that I'm putting together of some jersey beers for you guys and I will get that out to you within the next week or two. Hopefully, I can get it out next week. So this way you have it. For Super Bowl Sunday Seen crack open a couple Super Bowl beers. You know, Jersey beers while you're in Connecticut, Speaking of Jersey beers, the good folks from source. They're just always doing such fantastic peers thought control is one of the better ones. That I've really enjoyed had that over the holidays. It's just a fantastic beer. I love the can art I love the way it pours the color. Unbelievable. Now, my friends from the lows the brewing out in California. One of the beers that they sent in the package that they sent was ah, bottle of this pills and I love a good pills. They're good friends and a bottle of pills from a low stuff. I love the fact that this was a big bomber bottle. Now I poured the whole thing in the one big glass and drank it. I'm guessing that they wanted you to share this with some friends. But I didn't feel like sharing wanted to drink this whole thing because I was really in the mood for a pilsner was in the mood for something different. Um, you know, just to kind of not so much the cleanse the palate, but sometimes you just want something a little bit lighter. And you know, we talk about Pilsners all the time. The Pilsner is a beer that takes the long that takes a long time to make. It's not something you can bang out in three weeks. It's a process. It takes a little bit and you don't see a lot of brewers making it because they want to get other stuff out there. We're seeing the trend of Pilsners and lagers coming back because brewers had more time to make beer because they didn't have toe worry about You know they're tapped lines and getting stuff out right away because they couldn't have anybody in there tap rooms, so they were able to do things that took a little bit longer. This is a great pilsner love the bottle. It's crisp. It's clean. It hits all the right notes. Is it perfect? No, not by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a very good drinkable pilsner that you can share with a few friends. And enjoy it. Something crisp, clean. I always relate a pilsner to eating pizza. If you have a good really good pizza, a really good pilsner to go with it or a lager. Fantastic. That's how you got to do It. Pills. The pizza, the double pay. That's how I look at it as we continue on here on our sons and duds segment on the Altitude Craft beer cast on Am 9 70 the answer, Uh, menelik from Omni Polo. The sweetness from the raisins on this stout is the bomb. This was such a strong beer. In fact, I had a paragon Tappan table. It was the first beer that I had with my night and I probably shouldn't have done that. But it was just a perfect beer to start off. In fact, Tom Funk who served me was like Listen, Dude, this is the best beer on you Gotta try it right now. Bang. And you know what? That sweetness from the raisins? I love that. That was so good. Then I went to, um, evil Twin Brewing's You're not a real New York brewery until the neighborhood cat decides to move in great title smooth for triple big, boozy beer, but very, very smooth one of those ones if I had two or three of them, definitely somebody else's driving home. Now one beer that I had that I purchased over it. No Savino over in Westfield. Why was this good? I wish I got a couple more cans of this. In fact, the next time I'm over, it knows we know if they do have another candidate. Ooh, I'm definitely getting it. I have another can in the fridge. That's one. I'm probably gonna share with a few people, but I definitely would love to get one more candidates. It's not something I could drink. A lot of But for a change of pace on a cold night Flew for Banana truck with marshmallow by sky gazer brewing. Oh, my God, This was ridiculous. Everything and it was just outstanding..

"Ragnarok, which is basically Viking rapture. So a hate it when someone eats the sun. Yeah. Well, you're going to detect a theme in this. But don't but don't worry fans of summer days about the sun going away by then the canny soul will have had the good sense to conceive and have a daughter to carry on her work after she's wolf meat. So we're going to be all right. So. They also seemed fine with leaving Monday to the moon, and who doesn't like the moon, and we all know the answer to that is NASA in the US government who disliked it so much. They refused to go there. So they hired Stanley Kubrick and several hundred people to fake it. And they all kept it totally secret. Until now, boom, it's science people just science there's it's on YouTube. So. On youtube. Everything is. But for real Z's, they swapped their Mundi, Manny, who's a male God. Their moon. Deity was my super in in the last apartment. I lived in. Hey, manny. Manny when you're gonna fix my my sink. And also you look like the moon. A moon face motherfucker many. But I love us. I'm Carl the pug Pekka coordinator. So what's interesting about Manny? These the moon is in in the north tradition is mail and very very little information is known about about Manny. But he is he is thought to be the origin of the European folk belief of the man in the moon. Oh, so so next to nothing is known about the God of the shittiest day of the week. Named after the moon, man. So we then arrive at their first obvious at it. The least thought of day in the week Tuesday. What does it Tuesday? And how does it work as we know the Greco Roman war God for whom they named the day Mars is a stone Cold War God and the humble origin of my own name, Mark. So who doesn't like Mark and? Sorry. There's a Cody there was a little bobble in there. Even even though they wanted their own gods to get the glory, the dramatic folks were so impressed by the Roman weekly framework. They just stuck their war gone tear in there, or as as he was called an old English as time went on to. So interestingly he was one handed because he distracted the same end of the world wolf fen, rare by sacrificing his hand for its lunch. So the other gods could could bind it and therefore have a time of peace on this world, white the media hand. Well. Well, that's a solid sacrifice their that. Is that guy? Did he did us all big a big favor on that one? You he sure did thanks to. But very little is really otherwise known about him. But we do know he will be eaten by another wolf at ragnarok. By the name of gar. Nailed it. I think we underestimate how wolf bothered are ancient genetic seem to have been there's freaked out by wolves as early Christians whereby birds. True. By the way are called Jews. That's right. This this this wolf fact is clearly referenced in the musical documentary on the subject Sergei Prokofiev's, Peter and the wolf which you you might find very interesting interestingly, it is believed. He might have been derived from Dios pater, which Doug talked about in his segment on the proto Indo European religion in episode ten as a very ancient one of the earliest known kind of religious movements. So basically, we have one seventh of our week named after yet another God, we know next to nothing about other than he gets eaten by a wolf and is the son of Odin. So that of course, brings us to Wednesday a word who spelling I always found bizarre. Right. And indeed it is named as it is after loadin commonly called Odan and twos. Father the mightiest of the Norse gods. Right. So where the Roman hump day was reserved for mercury. The low the lowly messenger of the gods. Germanic folks, shut it. For their one eyed MAC daddy originally pronounced the day was originally pronounced wardens. Dig thus the loopy spelling of the day, and it commemorates the well-known had head God of the North's religion who among many other attributes traveled with two companions, Gary and fix both of whom were wolves for one of the wolves names as Gary because it's scary. That idea this is my wolf Frikkie and my wolf Gary. Hey, what's up guys? I'm Gary are your inhaler. I'm. Oh, and before I forget Odin is also killed it ragnarok swallowed by Fenris or the wolf. Of course, I feel like the marvel universe. Ragnarok was seriously lacking in wolves. They only one it was ridiculous deleted scenes, right? All the time pretty wolf Louis. So then, of course, we need a day of commemoration commemorating Rodin's, most famous son, and perhaps the most famous nor Scott of all Thor or Tuta interestingly that day it was originally called Poon Russ dugout meaning thunder day in reference to. Four as the origin of thunder and lightning right? But later later, they drop the reference and swapped in the man himself. And if you want to know more about this fearsome, fellow you can listen to Doug segment on him and episode sixty four however in keeping with the theme of the gods this week, the gods of the week thought also dies ragnarok. But as the wolves are busy elsewhere. You'll be relieved to know. He is instead killed by the giant serpent your immune Gondar. You're welcome Sweden. Just MARCY put a little button on that. The earth was destroyed in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy on a Thursday. You're welcome. Well, there you go. Thank you down on a Thursday. That's right. A series of books that Dan has brought great shame on the podcast by revealing has not read we'll leave that for later. You know, what we don't? I the fact that I'm a literate doesn't mean you get to just make fun of me all the time will leave it for our new segment, we call the airing of grievances against, Dan. So. But but that is that's for later day. Yeah. So so now we arrive at Friday. Now, a little note, we know this was a little known day that was suddenly made famous by Rebecca Black's two thousand eleven. Of the same name in which she lyrically ponders which seat to take in the convertible of her friend with a learner's permit. Yes, indeed video which has been viewed on YouTube, and I swear this is real one hundred thirty one million two hundred and forty seven thousand and fifty seven times a fact that Shirley proves that Radnor heck must be close at hand. But prior to its recent pop stardom lowly Friday toiled away as the last day of the work week named for frig, our friend, Odin wife and mother of four and it is believed stepmother of two so cheeses, Chris family hit the day name lottery. Yeah. Yeah. And much like Rebecca black frigates associated with foresight and wisdom and again like like the Roman gods. She displaced she is associated with the planet, Venus who like frig represents both romantic and familial love. But for some reason, I could not find out how freaked is. But if it wasn't a terrible wreck, Rebecca Black's, friends convertible. We can assume it was wolf based. So it's going to say, I think I think she eats wolf at ragnarok and get an dies of of indigestion. She she she gets bitten by a wolf and gets the rabies. It's a slow horrible death. Really? And so we come to Saturday the day, the dramatic people named after wait note. They did not. Yeah. It was going to some fucking reason. They didn't bother to change the day the Romans named after their head God mighty Saturn. Or if they did it didn't stick because it was a Saturday, and it's hard to find proper help for weekend shifts, or maybe they ran out of wounds immediate family to name it after spoiler. There's way more of them or most likely the guy in charge of naming the days was killed by a wolf.

"I don't know too many people that don't like the beach boys. I mean, really fun. Little little pop band. Go in there in the sixties. Some people aren't fans of the Marlins damn white. How do you not feel good by listening to the beach, boys? Not like they played the pressing music. But anyway, welcome back to the craft beer cast on AM nine seventy the answer. Of course, the final segment of the show. That's our son's dud segment where I tell you about the various beers I've had over the past week or so let you know, whether I liked them that would be a suds or if I didn't like him and that would be a dud. So let's start off my friends at bolero snort did a collaboration with a carton and teller they call this one the pre MU Donna everything on boleros beers. Has to do with the cows and moving and all this other stuff. So this is a porter that they did that is supposed to taste like a carrot cake. And boy, let me tell you something. They nailed it dark cinnamon nutty that carrot cake, kind of taste, but not overpowering. I really expected this to kinda hit me in the face. And it didn't and unpleasantly surprised that it didn't. I love a lot of polara has been doing lately, but this collab- with carton and teller and the boys of bolero fantastic job guys. You did great. This is a great great beer. If you're looking for a change of pace, maybe an after dinner beer, this is definitely something to consider. Then over thanksgiving. I had the from Lord Hobo the glorious got to spend some time with my neighbors for thanksgiving. And this is just a really nicely done pale ale. Great hop Goodwood Turkey, a good would pretty much anything. Actually, we probably could with a nice bowl of chili. So definitely something to consider Lord Hobo. Now getting into New Jersey, New York, definitely something you want to check out if you're looking for a change of pace dogfish head. I mentioned this on the show a couple of months back about three or four weeks ago. They come out with a holiday pack, some of their different I p as in there. I think they had the ninety minute in there. And then a couple of offshoots. I think the sixty ninety and then two variants and one of them both of them. Actually, I got a chance to try Vinicius IP a and both of them wind kind of wine oriented, it was really good. The great must in it made a difference in taste verse subtle not as piney as you would expect to kind of muted the the bitterness in the beer so medical down a little bit smoother, again, a nice, I don't know if I would drink this with dinner. I think this is more of like, a an appetizer kind of beer or maybe for after dinner, but very very good. If I just a just a really nice job from the folks at dogfish at then I had the we had after dinner we had a backwards bastard from founders broin, let me tell you something. That's a great beer. But you gotta let that one more month. It's definitely when you want to share with friends, you can get into the twelve ounce bottle. You don't have to drink the whole thing you can kind of split it up into a couple of glasses. But it's definitely a beer you're poor. You let it sit for a few minutes. And then you start sipping it slowly. It's definitely one of those ones you can enjoy by the fireplace. And kind of drink over a long period of time. And listen, if you're, you know, you're home alone, and you're sitting there, and you want to relax, and you want to have something that's gonna last you for about an hour or so definitely something to consider the backwards bastard from founders brewing before that, though, we had the sixty one which was the other the holiday pack from dogfish. Ed, I didn't like it. The first time I drank it a number of years ago. And maybe because my palate really wasn't ready for it. But again, I think this time around the fact that the wine is present a little more in this one. Did it for me? Maybe the last one that I had maybe was you know, just kind of aged out and just wasn't good enough. But I did enjoy the sixty one from dogfish a lot better this time around that I did a number of years ago. What else did I have here as we continue on our sons and Doug segment here on the altitude crappier cast on AM nine seventy the answer, a chocolate milk baked stout by sloop brewing. My good friend, buddy. Watson who we trade beers off from time to time. Brought me this one very different suite is chocolate oatmeal is an interesting combination. Usually, you drinking an oatmeal beer, you're not really getting a lot of sweetness out of it. But this one was a little different. So that sweetness kind of blended in with the chocolate and kind of enhanced the oatmeal a little bit. I really enjoyed that one. That was one. That was another good slow slipper. Here's another one that buddy had gotten me. That's really good. These guys fat orange cap rowing. They're doing a fantastic job at the ripe. All cats are grey in the dark first off. I love the can artwork. But of course, the artwork on a can be fantastic. But the beer could be terrible. And that's not the case with this smooth silky. It's a white stout. So it pours, you know, an amber color, so you kinda thrown off a little bit. You're not used to drinking whites doubts. But boy, I'll tell you. This was so good going down. And again, like I said, smooth nice in just one of those where you probably should sip it slow, but I ended up sipping it a little bit quicker than you should. But very very good, buddy. Excellent job Sam Adams winter lager. Again, the folks from Sam Adams have been sending me a few beers some of the stuff some of the winter stuff. So got a chance to throw the winter. Lager in the frigerator. And this is good traditional good for called night spicy, but not from a heat perspective spicy, and the fact that the spices and the beer this is another one of those hanging out with friends, maybe having some cheese and crackers. Maybe having a little bit of. I don't know. Just some just some kind of appetizer type of stuff. I this is this is probably a good beer with a with a burger or whatever. But definitely something that I would be drinking while eating appetizers. I don't know if I would necessarily be drinking beer with with dinner, but a really good one from Sam Adams, appreciate them. And thank you for the for the beers there. And also did a tap takeover. A few weeks back at paragon tap and table. And it was great. I got to run through a number of years that I haven't had from carton, which I thought I had most of their beers. But I haven't started off with a Sikora perfect beer cherry flavors subtle. But good nice. Just I was looking for something that tartness to kind of start the night off. And that was an excellent one. I had the smash two goals by teller and and carton. This was a great lager. We don't see a lot of good luck. You know, we mentioned in the first segment of the show about lagers and how breweries starting to make them again. Because they're an approachable beer. And so, you know, you've got founders with solid gold. You've got Firestone with their lager. This is a great beer by by carton and teller outstanding lager could crush it all day long. It's the right beer, if you're looking to drink something with with you know, that doesn't have a high AB. Fed. Matt fat mad monkey was a collaborative clean carton. And I think it was an integral I think it was with Interbrew another good one super smooth going down was excellent had a Sam one by carton. This was one of the few carton beers. That I wasn't blown away with drinkable. But not my favorite. You know? Obviously, you have a choice when you're doing tap take over this is not one that I would pick. It was something that I wanted to try because I hadn't had it before you might like it more than I would definitely not something. I would go back and have again just kind of off with me. And then the last one that I had in my little sampler that I had from Courtenay Brett one it was right again. Two beers. Surprisingly from carton that I was kind of like, all right? You know, if it was the only thing on there, and it was a local beer, probably drink it. But would I go out of my way to get it? Probably not as we continue on here. Suds and duds on the AGA two craft beer cast on AM nine seventy the answer. And then finished off with a couple of others from carton tangled up. This was good. Sweet blueberry, really nice, again, another kind of sour goes type style beer, very good from carton and then had a Long Island bureau project, higher burning another great, very juicy very delicious. Just knocked it out of the park. And again, most from carton is is really right in my wheelhouse. I love what they do. I mean, you can drink beer all day long. That's how good you know, the bow peer is and that's their biggest seller. But there's a lot of other stuff that carton does that you really need to try that they knock out of the park and for the most part the tap takeover a big success for paragon tapping table, but I gotta get down to carton one of these days because they got the new the new building opened I want to go check things out. And of course, regular coffee is going to be coming right around the corner, probably sometime in early January. But folks, we're out of time. Thanks to Jerry, Crowley, Phil Boyce Darren Yellen, Eric Buckley from six point. And of course last, but not least the great buddy Watson back Monday on the Joe Piscopo show at six AM. This is the altitude low crap your cast on AM nine seventy the crackling.

"Brewery and restaurant places been open since nineteen Ninety-six the brewery has won a number of awards at the great American beer festival. And as I just mentioned a few moments ago, we will be a recapping the great American beer festival. What I want to focus on later in the program. We're actually going to do that in lieu of our sudden dud segment this week. We'll recap the great American beer festival. The big winners, but also locally three breweries in New Jersey meddled. A couple of New York state also medalled, but there were a number of areas that didn't some people were upset that Connecticut didn't place at all. The winner of the hazy IP a the New England style hazing IP that everybody here on the east coast seems to be making was not one by a brewery on the east coast, interesting stuff. So we'll get into that. During our what is normally are sudden Doug segment, we'll get into that in the final segment of the program. The winners locally and why you know, some people didn't meddle again. I don't want to get into it now because I want to get into it in that segment later on the great American beer festival in this is an enormous event. Last week an unfunny comedian as I mentioned on the program. Who's gonna I'll give his name. I really don't care. They'll find the guy funny. I've never found him funny. Jim gaskin? I've never really found him particularly funny ripped craft beer how he wants his beer to taste like beer that hurts small business people. I mentioned it on the show last week. I'm gonna keep mentioning it because craft beer is small business. But I do think the great American beer festival has become an enormous event that some people may think is not I don't wanna say past its time. But you wonder now. If the event has become blase or passing not blase passe, right? We'll have to get into that a little bit later on. That's that's definitely something that you know, that maybe we want to think about a little bit. There are so many festivals that are going on so many different things that are happening. Can't go to every one of them. The great American beer festival happens to be bucket list item for me. But if I don't ever get to it. It's not gonna it's not gonna kill me. You know what I'm saying? There's so many other things that are going on that it's almost impossible to do all of these different things at once. There's other stuff that I would really like to go to that. I've heard great things about but we'll see as time goes on. Now. Let's get into some news notes here ecliptic, bro. Emily Wilson mentioned something about small business later on here in our news and notes so ecliptic brewing there phaser hazing is back due to high demand from the public. They released it as a seasonal beer last winter, but phaser friends and are going to be able to find. The beer in limited runs throughout the year. Their sales manager, Aaron gray. Kaplan said of the decision of brew. This beer regularly was an easy one in my time here at ecliptic. I've never been asked Moore for a beers come back Fazer hazy. It'll be available in both drafted six pack cans, authroity clip Dick's distribution network. Their distribution network is mainly the Pacific northwest. So if you're not in the Oregon Seattle Washington area, you're not going to be able to find it. There's a couple of the places I think Colorado couple of other places out west, but it is not a come east. So if you're looking for the phaser hazy IP is definitely coming back. From a clinic growing mother earth brewing has announced that they have a distribution partnership with central Pennsylvania's largest wholesale source for domestic craft westies beer distributor Kevin Hopkins.
