"Just as what's happening with the masks as this week. Cdc reverses indoor mass policy saying of course fully vaccinated people and kids should wear them indoors. That's it the centers for disease control prevention recommended tuesday that fully vaccinated. People begin wearing masks indoors again in places with high kobe. Nineteen transmission rates. The agency is also recommended. Kids where mask in schools this ball. Cdc recommends mass for all k twelve students even those who have been vaccinated. Oh my god folks. it's groundhog day. We're going in. Can you believe this. One of my favorite doctors in the world has been outspoken. He probably is pissed off. As i am right now dr. Jeffrey barky wrote a great article. This was the headline right here. Masking children's about power and control not science instead of reading it. I am honored and it's my pleasure to be joined right now by dr jeffrey barking. Do you believe this. What is going on dell. Thanks so much for having me on. I don't know what's going on. It's the craziest thing. It's a twilight zone movie. It's we're living in the babylon be. I don't know what's going on. It's so upsetting in alabama. I think were looking at. What do we have we pull it up. All right go ahead. We'll find it go ahead. It's crazy listen i've got. I've got patients that have come in and told me that if their school mandates masks they will be pulling their kids out of government schools caitlin. Who's a big fan of yours and a patient of mine has three kids under no circumstances. Is she masking her kids in sending them to school. Here's the problem dell. None of these unelected bureaucrats ever ask the question at what cost what are the consequences of the mandates. What are the consequences of these edicts. They never asked that question. We know that children are not harmed from cova. Did but we also know that. Children are harmed often severely from masks. Listen we've had a year now to look at this increase level of anxiety increased level of depression suicidal idealisation learning disorders etc. I mean you know couple three weeks ago. These moms at a florida took masks off their kids after wearing them for a few hours in sent him to a local lab. Yeah and they discovered all kinds of pathogenic disease causing organisms inside their masks and then there was a study at of jama pediatrics that looked at carbon dioxide as a result of just a few minutes of mass working in children now of course the woke journal journal of the american medical association got so much pressure they ultimately pulled that article but the facts are the facts masks harm. Children cova does not harm children. Why are we doing this. I don't understand. Under no circumstances should apparent allow their child to be forced mast in order to attend a school in my opinion the force mandates of masking children is equivalent to child abuse it harms and offers no benefit in. We should not be doing. It's a total destruction of their will in this really thick things that i've heard where teachers will as for being a good student. We'll give you five minutes without your mask. I mean it's being used like they're like rats being trained to walk through a maze and and we'll take the torture device off you. If you do what we say. I mean it's really shocking. But here's what. I here's what i can't believe america's accepting in this and and how we're not just standing in the streets right now shoulder to shoulder. I mean the idea that it is clear. Our administration is taking us right back down the tunnel. We're going into mass which is going to lead the lockdowns and all the rest of it. The vaccines that total failure. So i don't know what the end of that road is but all of this now at this point after year. Where is the science. I mean a. We really gonna do this again. Based on just their opinion of it they're not going to stand there and say this study shows us this. This study backs up that study. We have multiple studies that we've done. We really did testing through all of this while we were torturing you we were doing really robust studies to show you how effective vaccines are at stopping the virus. Which if they were affected. Why are we here. I mean honestly if they worked at all why are we even here lockdowns work. Why can't we stop this virus. Clearly we've proven we can't hide from clear. We've proven that. The mass on working yet suicide skyrocketing our children other diseases are as v and things like that spreading rampantly throw. Children are children are now sick from illnesses. They normally don't catch why because they're just living in a petri dish all day long. But where's the science jeopardy owego and accept an administration that's gonna keep telling us we really don't know a lot about it but this is what our gut tells us. We should do yet. You know dell unfortunately the cdc has turned into a political organization not a science organization. Our founders warned of this thomas. Jefferson said two hundred forty plus years ago there is no justification for taking away individuals freedom in the guise of public safety. And that's exactly what is happening hero. They're taking away our freedoms under this umbrella of safety and it's ridiculous in the problem is it's one thing if you presented the science to the american people i think people would be willing to abide by recommendations based on solid science. They aren't presenting science in fact doing this the opposite. They're being hypocritical. they're changing their minds. You hear dr One day say one thing and the next day say another i they tell us that vaccines work and therefore you don't need to wear a mask now they're telling us that despite being vaccinated you needed wear a mask you know. There's a study out of israel that looked at these new delta variants in hospitalizations with something like sixty percent of all hospitalizations in israel are a result of vaccinated people getting the delta variant. And i you know. It's hard for me to believe that similar. Statistics aren't true here in the united states. Quite frankly we can't believe the statistics anymore. Nobody's sharing on the mainstream media. The various data that is just blowing up with relationships to injury and deaths and so forth. Nobody literally no mainstream. Media is sharing the data from a website that is run by the fda in the cdc. Listen i'm not. I'm not anti vaccine anti mask. Necessarily i want the information presented to the people so they can make an informed decision. Unfortunately that's not happening. If you want to go get back st- go get vacs but don't blame me if i don't wanna get vaccinated and don't put government pressure on people to step up with an investigational vaccine with a very short safety record using brand new technology that we've never used before and now they're coming after our children which makes absolutely no sense at all you know looked at the cdc data yesterday. And if you look at the number of deaths in children less than eighteen years old that's basically k. Through twelve okay. It's at three hundred thirty six and almost all of those kids that died had significant underlying health conditions. Now just for fun to your audience. Google number of traffic deaths in children number of drownings in children it far exceeds any risk of cova. But we're not going crazy over that so the idea that we should vaccinate a child against an illness that they're not even at risk from with a brand new vaccine with untested technology with no long term. Safety data makes absolutely no sense at all the other problem when you go about vaccinating a a child is you take away. Their option of getting natural long-lasting a robust broad spectrum immunity. You know when. I was a kid dell i got chickenpox the real disease in the reason why i got it is my mom walked my brother and i down the street to a neighbor who had chicken pox stayed home from school for ten.

"Does nothing boom when we're in the end zone. We just one virus wins the whole game so all the way back then. We told you that the problem with the vaccine would be that was specific antibodies. It would not recognize the variants that the vaccine was creating. And what do we have we now have the delta variant and what's happening the vaccinated. Their bodies are not recognizing delta verion. Jeffrey already showed you all the studies of those nonspecific antibodies. The natural immunity is not only lasting long the antibodies. They can fight any form. Delta gamma lambda. it doesn't matter. It's perfect immunity. It's working brilliantly but the vaccine does not see it. We told you this over the last year. I have proved that now. I want to watch you. Have you watched the head of the cdc that dr. We've been bowing down to this institution. That is supposed to be have their foot on the gas and understand where they're going driving us all somewhere. Take his home. I hope that's who he trusted. Listen to what she just said this week. I want you under the context of what we've been telling you. We know with the white house saying that people like the high wire and delbene tree are lying and we need to be shut down. Listen to what she admitted just yesterday or the day before. This is going to blow your mind. Check it out. Here's the new science that we saw just in the last several days with prior variants when people had these rare breakthrough infections. We didn't see the capacity of them to spread the virus to others but with the delta variant we now see in our outbreak investigations. That have been occurring over the last couple of weeks in those outbreak investigations. We have been seeing that. If you happen to have one of those breakthrough infections that you can actually now pass it to somebody else. We thought that was really important for people to know and understand because when people are out there vaccinated thinking that even if they get mild illness. They can't give it to someone else if they're then going to a loved one whose immuno-compromised who isn't yet vaccinated or couldn't be vaccinated. We wanted them to take the protection to protect others So that was the new science that prompted the guidance and You know it was not It will it weighed heavily. I know that this is not a message. America wants to hear. The reason i was asking is because just yesterday you also put out the. Cdc did a new science brief which contained this sentence. These findings along with the early evidence reduce viral load and vaccinated people who develop cova nineteen suggests that any associated transmission risk is likely to be substantially reduced in vaccinated people. So even though that brief came out just yesterday you're saying that's no longer operative. It's no longer operative because the new science. The new science has brand new today. That the high wires somehow had a magic like time. Capsule got ahead of us on this but for us. It's brand new. Do you see how shocking this is. I mean i'll admit. I get attacked by the new york times washington. Cnn and everybody else say. He's only a journalist. he's not a medical doctor. He's not a specialist that's true that's absolutely true. You're right all. I am is a journalist. All i know how to do is interview scientists and doctors and then i go step further than most of you at cnn. Where they show me that science. Because i read it. Let me read it jeffrey. Get over here. Let's let's let's read through this and then we're showing you what we were reading with. Our is that goes to our brains then helps us make decisions and we've been bringing that to you and we've been right the whole time this you know and and really i feel bad for every idiot watching cnn still or msnbc frankly fox for that matter because for you this is brand new science just breaking. We're just oh my god it's like watching the nfl's isn't it like awed by the sun all by fire. And i'm like what is that ladies created a wait a minute. We should try cooking over it. I mean these are the people that are running. The health departments in the world shocked all by the fire. Well we weren't shocked. In fact all you needed was high school understanding of immunology to have been ahead of all of these clowns that are making decisions and driving us to our doom. And what are we at now. These same clowns that are in shock and awe over. What any person should have known from a high school science class. Now they're going to force vaccinate. I mean force mask work towards vaccination take away all of our rights. This is what's happening with the masks as of this week. Cdc reverses indoor mass policy saying of course fully vaccinated people and kids should wear them indoors. That's it the centers for disease control prevention recommended tuesday that fully vaccinated. People begin wearing masks indoors again in places with high kobe. Nineteen transmission rates. "Pour out my spirit in those days. But this great end time outpouring can only come through prayer and fasting Joel 114 says consecrate a fast call a sacred assembly gas elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God and cry out to the Lord. I could go on and on and talk about Jonah and how he proclaimed to the city of Nineveh too fast be delivered there since or the Israelites or Daniel Elijah Moses, the Apostle Paul. The list goes on if you have not fasted I can assure you that God has a wonderful gift to give you through this Christian discipline. You know earlier when I started episode I read the verse out of Matthew God rewards you when you fast there. I have fasted dozens of times throughout my Christian faith journey, and there's not one time that God has never rewarded me not one time and I'm not saying God rewards materially. Sometimes he does but most often. It's actually God will speak to you. You will hear from God. God will speak to your heart in ways that are so powerful and so real it builds your relationship with him. You really get to know him and trust him. And it is an incredible life when you learn the discipline of fasting it more radically change your Christian walk. It's amazing. It's incredible. And if you had done it, you've got to try it. So do you need deliverance from depression? I know I did when I went through a season of it and I would still be pressed today had I not fasted and prayed through it the Apostle James taught that if you humble yourself before the Lord, he will exalt you that James Wharton so that's something to think about when you fast you humble yourself before God you say I can't but you can God I can do nothing with my depression my negative thinking or even if you're struggling with suicidal thoughts you give all of that to God you say I can't get rid of this. How do I do it God I can't but you can and that off. Blame yourself before God and it's incredible. When you do that. He will exalt you. He will set you free. He will give you Victory. When you acknowledge Him over everything in your life over your thoughts over depression over your feelings over your emotions. You give it all to God and you humble yourself. He's going to reward you. He's going to help you. He's he's going to deliver you and your life can be forever changed. The fourth reason too fast is to discover God's guidance in important decisions. We all have times when we need a special answer from God in the book of Acts Paul and Barnabas needed guidance from the Lord about their next steps in Ministry. Acts 13:2 says while they were worshipping the Lord and fasting the holy spirit said set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them then following the Lord's call for their Ministry Paul and Barnabas appointed Elders for them in each church again through prayer and fasting committing them to them and whom they had put their trust that's acts fourteen twenty-three. There are so many reasons why Christians should be fasting the Apostle Luke even gives an account page eighty four year old woman the prophetess Anna who fasted and prayed giving thanks to God Loop 237 says and then as a widow until she was 84, she did not depart from the temple worshipping with fasting and prayer night and day fasting is for every Christian at every age as a holy spirit leads us back. The fast we should fulfill that leading with joy and excitement about the call too fast because Jesus himself expects that from us there is power wash rinse and victory and fasting and praying the Lord knows this and that is why he is called all of us as Christians too fast. Now, you may be wondering how long do you fast? And what type of fast would be best? Well, the Bible gives us multiple fast to choose from to make this super easy. I have attached a PDF guide to fasting in the free resource section at making the turn around. Com. You can click on the guide and download it. It's about twenty-five pages and it gives you many Bible references to all the different types of fast, and it also gives like a diet plan of before the fast, you know cutting things back liquids to drink. Think and it's an incredible guide a very powerful guide Bill bright the founder of the campus Crusade for Christ actually created this guide and I have found personally feel that it is one of the best fasting and praying guides ever written and I have many books on fasting and I've done a lot of research on it and I would hands-down say that the guide that he has regained is the best. So all the credit goes to him in the compiling of all the most important information on how and when and why to fast there are so many biblical references. I'm not even talking about in this episode just so much Freedom so much Deliverance waiting at your fingertips, you must download this PDF. He even has Diet guides diet samples time frames of when and what to eat everything just so much good stuff. But as with anything that could affect your body, it's always wise to let your dog. Know your intentions, especially if you are seeking a longer fast, so be careful when you do it, I'll get some advice from your medical doctor and then go for it as the spirit leads you off but I can't stress enough to you how important fasting and praying is for deliverance. It is truly life-changing. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired then fasting wage would be your way to Freedom. It is not God's will for you to stay depressed. It's not Jesus came to give us life in life. Abundantly. He came to set the captives free just we're going to go through tough situations in life. But as Christians, we have to keep pressing on we have to keep moving through the seasons of life and fasting is the highway to get through challenging times. So if you have any questions about fasting, please reach out to me at making the turn off. I have fasted dozens of times. I can share my stories with you if that will help you but please reach out to me. I'm I'm here to help. All right, so I hope that you have enjoyed this episode. I pray you all have a blessed week and until next time the Lord bless you and keep you the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you the Lord lift up his countenance upon you.

"But when you fast put oil on your ahead and wash your face so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting but only to your father who is unseen and your father who sees what is done in secret wage. Will reward you notice that Jesus said twice in that verse when you fast meaning this we as Christians should be fasting read early. It is an individual in corporate discipline in the church body. That is why I want to share some insight in this episode about the importance of 15 in the benefits received.

Now the deaths began spiking roughly two months into that states locked down. Medical experts are increasingly warning of the damaging physical and mental health impacts of the prevailing cove in 19 policies this morning, there are questions being raised about who and how many people support what is known as the Great Barrington Declaration. This argues that keeping lockdowns in place will cause irreparable damage. Individual academics from universities like Oxford and Cambridge and Harvard and Stanford are among the experts from around the world who have signed this declaration and among them Doctor soon ETRA Gupta from Oxford, who says that they favor identifying the vulnerable and then allowing herd immunity to take over in the younger, stronger population shielding the vulnerable or investing quite seriously in finding ways to protect the vulnerable those in caroms, obviously and Stopping infections in hospitals, but also more generally in the community. We think we can do that, while allowing those who are not vulnerable to this disease. Took to go out there and get infected and build up what we call and will continue to call herd immunity to step process, identify the vulnerable, protect them and then allow her demeanor to take over the rest of the stronger population. Very controversial. Dr. J. Bhattacharya is from Stanford, also behind the Great Barrington Declaration, He says the damage from lockdowns is outstripping the benefits. People who who are suffering from the collateral damage of the lock down close schools, closed businesses, close universities, depression, suicidal, suicidal ideation. All that enormous collateral damage. When they face very little risk from death from the disease that has to end So the declaration has a Web site that allows just about anyone to put their name on a list of people with the email address Home City the whole thing as an indication of those who support more than 15,000, scientists and medical practitioners around the world apparently had signed up. But according to Sky News, apparently there are more than a few fake names and experts, including Dr Johnny Bananas. And Professor comic Cummings Come on. And someone who listed their residents as the University of your mum. Oh, nice. Okay, so people have a sense of humor. You're going into it. But the doctors that are speaking forward are from Oxford, Harvard and Stanford. Is there No dummies right there. Smart people. By the way, Dr Fauci has come out in the last day or two did in interviews that I don't buy into herd immunity. He disagrees. Foundling. Okay, let's get outside and take a look now. After traffic.

"During this type of period of darkness, the soul after it is pruned unnecessary and cumbersome attachments reveals the spiritual state of the inner man or inner woman. The state of the soul during this pruning season can fill raw aching creating diety. There's vulnerability in sometimes a person. Could, despair. One immediate relief from the darkness. Some souls who get to this point of despair sometimes convince themselves that suicide is the only relief the only way out. The promise you. That that is a lie from the pit of Hell. The Devil wants everyone to believe that escaping this world through suicide is okay. It's not okay and I want to mention that every suicide that is recorded in the Bible says nothing about the soul of the person going to heaven afterwards. To self murder in believe that one can still go to heaven is a dangerous risk. It's a dangerous theology. Of One Salvation in Christ only the Lord knows in these cases what happens to the soul who destroys himself or herself? It is a risk that the devil wants people to take remember the Bible says that the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy. He wants everyone dead he wants everyone depressed. Wants everyone miserable. He hates those who love God in especially those who have given their hearts to his son Jesus Christ he will try to attack you and I with depression at some point in our lives, and if you have not been through depression yet there may come a day some point in your life that you're going to walk through the Valley of the shadow of death. The enemy will attack you at some point in your life. He wants us all to give up. He wants to wear us down. When you get a chance read about the story of job he wanted to destroy job because of jobs commitment in relationship with God job was a righteous man..

"The binding of Isaac provides a prophetic picture of the provisions of the sacrifice made by the Lord Jesus, Christ Jesus becomes the lamb of God who John the Baptist prophetically proclaimed in John One twenty nine takes away the sins of the world. The Ram. That was caught in the thicket on Mount Maria in Genesis twenty two thirteen when Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac was providential. He provided by God as the appropriate sacrifice instead of his son Isaac that Ram caught in the thicket resembles Jesus Christ because Jesus also had a crown of thorns around his head during his sacrificial death. John Nineteen two states, the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns in put it on his head with Jesus being the final sacrifice on Mariah a little over two thousand years ago he became the true temple in the beginning and end of all sacrifice. No longer do we need someone like Abraham or an old testament priests to offer a sacrificial animal for the atonement of the people since? With Jesus resurrection in anointed place at the right hand of God in Heaven we now can go to him with our sins in be forgiven the beauty of it all is that not only can we go to him with our sins and find forgiveness, but we can also go to him in our sufferings in in the dark valleys we may experience while here on earth and we can find relief in him since Christ is our sacrificial lamb atoned for all. Of. Man's sins. We need no other sacrifice in this day in age therefore as Christians, we do not need a temple, we the body of Christ individually and corporately are the Temple of God. Now, the Lord says, in Second Corinthians six six, what agreement can exist between the Temple of God idols for we are the temple of the Living God. I, will live with them and walk among them and I will be their God and they will be my people. Jesus is death for us was the final blood sacrifice that that was required to fulfil the old covenant law, and because of his death, we are righteous through him Romans three twenty, two states, the righteousness of. Through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe therefore what Christ desires from us is what King David proclaimed in Psalm fifty, one, sixteen through seventeen for you do not delight in sacrifice otherwise, I would give it. You are not pleased with burnt offering the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contract heart Oh God you will not despise God does not despise a broken spirit. And depression can often come from having a broken spirit in my journey through the Valley of the shadow of death. My first revelation in that valley was the issue of surrender, which is a form of powerlessness in surrendering. I had to sacrifice areas of my life that needed sacrificing like Abraham I believed I was being tested in my faith. One day in my depression and despair I went to church to have some quiet time just to think and pray. It was on this particular day that I came across a CS Lewis book entitled the Great Divorce In the book there was a chapter that leaped out to me on this theme of surrender in sacrifice. It was the story of the man with a red lizard on his shoulder, but before I get into that..

There were struggle of all with depression is the fear of it lasting forever. That is why many people resort to suicide. Because they see no way out of the valley they believe the lies of Satan in that they will never get out because that's what he wants people to believe when they're in depression that they will never get out. But we can all get out in there is an escape. I love with the Prophet. Isaiah proclaims about God's Love when he appears absent even though he's not Isaiah fifty, four seven says for a brief moment I abandoned in you but with deep compassion, I will bring you back God as a great shepherd will bring you back to. If, you are willing to surrender to him completely. Powerlessness and surrender are the first steps to getting out of the Dark Valley and there is no greater power as a Christian that we have in the advocates that lives in us. The Holy. Spirit. Depression is only permanent if you believe it to be so and I can assure you that the devil wants you to think that there is no way out remember he is a liar. "He said quote because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature incomplete not lacking anything. That's James. Chapter One verses three through four. Eighteen years ago I was working on my undergraduate degree in Biblical counseling. As part of my academic studies, I had to take a course entitled despondency. The course title alone brought me drag because it sounded so depressing and sad and my personality did not resonate with the word despondent. I. Was Naturally Pretty Bobbly happy person and never had any significant issues with depression. It did not run in my family either so I had no personal experience with despondency, which is basically depression. I've felt that taking this course would be somewhat of a downer. I prefer a more Sunnier approach on the academic side of learning and I even had the audacity to call my academic counselor asking if I could take another course substitute this despondency class, but it was required to graduate. So I was stuck with it as a young and inexperienced kid I dreaded it. Some of the questions that ruminated in my young mind about the class we're this. Why would a person choose that type of negative mindset in despondency? Why would they allow themselves to be despondent and depressed? How could someone not see hope? Why. Would someone allow themselves to get so depressed that they become dysfunctional Why would they want to die instead of live? I had all these questions but no understanding inexperience in the Dark Valley of depression. Even. When it was explained to me, I cannot relate to the life issues of depression. It's behaviors or thinking patterns in my ignorance in an experience I felt if a person faced despondency. Just, needed to choose to be happy I thought that would be the solution boy. Did I have a lot to learn on my life journey? Shortly, after I graduated with the degree in counseling I was shuffling through all of my classwork throwing away papers. I. Did not need and getting rid of books. I. Thought I would never use again and notice I just said books that I thought. I would never use again another air in my judgment. The first stack of papers and books to find a new home in the local dumpster was all of my coursework on despondency. At the time I still felt repelled by the class even after it was over, I can't explain why I felt that way but the class aggravated me it was the lowest grade I received in my undergraduate degree I got a big ole see in that class. So I trashed all my coursework murmuring to myself that I would never have to deal with that I truly believed in my twenty five year old brain that my positive and encouraging nature would naturally beat anything life through my way that I had enough positively to help counselees shish shake off their despondency. I mean Heck, my nickname in college was sunshine. Why would I ever have to deal with something that did not resonate with WHO I am? Again, I still had an awful lot to learn in life. So I'm going to fast forward sixteen years later. At a positive and successful time in my life, a cloud of shadowing darkness descended upon me. The darkness was unexpected sudden. Relentless and flat out cruel..

"This is part one in the healing series overcoming depression, suicide thoughts and hopelessness. A few years ago I wrote a book entitled the Mount Mariah Experience Walking through the Valley of the shadow of death. It was my personal story of a bout of depression that lasted two years in my life. Before this experience with depression I had never experienced depression. It was a very dark period of my life that most people are not aware of. I felt led to do the series on making the turnaround for several reasons first off people who are depressed and suicidal often don't talk about it. That is why it's shocking when the news of someone who seemed to have been very happy and prosperous in life commit suicide it leaves the people left behind guessing in questioning what happened in that person's life and how they could have helped. I have learned through my experience that depression and suicide are close toxic friends that tried to isolate shame in discouraged the person that is afflicted by them. In these two talks, friends are causing and national epidemic right. Now, let's take a look at some current statistics on depression and suicide. Nearly a third of Americans right now said, they are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression. This survey was done between April and June of this year in twenty twenty. Nearly a third of Americans are experiencing symptoms of anxiety in depression thirty, three percent suicide rates are the highest. They have ever been just this past June the CDC reports that eleven percent of the adult population contemplated suicide. US Centers of Disease Control and preventions morbidity, and Mortality Weekly report that one in four young adults between the ages of eighteen in twenty four have contemplated suicide in the last six weeks friends. That is twenty five percent of our young adults. We're not just in a national pandemic from the physical disease of Covid nineteen but we are in a national epidemic for the highest rates of suicide our country has ever seen. In this episode in the episodes that will. In this healing series I. will share my personal story of depression and the remedies I discovered on my journey through the Valley of the shadow of death. I had a complete healing from this horrific eclipse of my soul what I call it. and. I. Feel led to share my story in hopes that if someone who is depressed or suicidal, here's my story that they know that there is a way out. There was a period of time when I was in the midst of my depression. I did not think there was a way out. I don't know if you've actually seen in actual clips of our son during your lifetime. It's really cool phenomenon and experiencing darkness at mid-day is undoubtedly a really unique experience. The temporary night.

"It's the hilarious world of depression. I'm John Mel on this episode person who has become famous in America rather quickly as a Sitcom star and an outspoken activist. The Sitcom has ended but the activism. Who It's just getting started. Hello my name is Jamila Djamil and I am at the Hilarious Weld Off. Depression and And what do you do for a living? I'm an actor and activist at a pain in the US. Three job titles multifaceted. Jamila Djamil was a TV and radio host or presenter in England for several years. Welcome to fish. Wrap up with me. I am here to deliver onto you all of the latest chart news and gossip in less time than it takes to make a couple of so last Sunday Cigna American audiences. I got to know her playing honey. Djamil the name-dropping high-society Londoner on the NBC. Moral Philosophy Sitcom the good place. But we've been through a lot swell you. I haven't been this upsets. My good friend Taylor was rude. Yep Stage in Konya was defending my best friend. Say Jamila grew up in London. Her parents emigrated from Pakistan and India says. Her family had a lot of mental health problems. Schizophrenia OCD bipolar depression suicidal. Ibm for Jamila. There was anxiety. There was depression and coming to grips with a lot of trauma. I wouldn't say who within my entire giant family unit because South Asian families huge. But there was an abusive background. Came From and A lot of bullying at home and at school That happened to us. Because we were Pakistani and My Dad is I think. Technically Indian We were South Asians living in a very racist time in Britain such as very tense existence to grow up in where people constantly hounding you with racial slurs calling you a monkey and not wanting to sit next to you at school and just a general night Great doesn't doesn't so no it was really bad. I'm amazed I made it out of my. I've made it our of my twenties even but I've had like a full nervous breakdown gone completely just totally lost it looking back on it now. It was pretty bleak. She had big time mental health issues but she says South Asian immigrant. Culture didn't talk about that kind of thing and neither did British culture. What was being talked about? Was the necessity for girls to be ridiculously skinny. And Jamila Developed Anorexia so I think is a combination the fact that I was growing up in the nineties and so- Heroin Chic could time the adults using non ironically. Where you to? In order to be beautiful you had to emulate the look of someone who does not eat and only Consumes heroin is also look a famine? That people were trying to achieve which is fucking insane considering that famine was and is still occurring in this world and millions and millions of people are suffering and dying from it and how much those people would love to be able to eat something Having their own physiques considered chic in this Bizarre and shallow industry. I was seeing people in my own country. Flights Pakistan and see 'em like skill lethal people on the side of the street begging for food. And then I would come here and see people starving themselves deliberately to emulate that look in order to fit into runway closed just so tiny so the look was just everywhere you were supposed to have jutting out hipbones and believe me. It was a badge of owner. It wasn't something that you hid. There was a long queue outside the girls along line outside the girl's bathroom. Everyone throwing up at lunch one. After the other. The other there was a girl. Easter bring her weighing scales in school and e on them. I remember without giving an interview saying she eats nude in order to stop us from overindulging. In Your Kate Moss talking about nothing tastes as good as thin. Feels well tacos. Pizza cake was their decision that you remember making A. I need to start eating way less. I need to start. Was that a conscious thing or do they just emerge suddenly it was a very very conscious scarring moment of my maths teacher wanting to teach us about graphs and pie charts and she weighed all of us to collect all of our weights as data to show a chart. The dumbest thing you've ever heard how I was. Eleven I was one of the tools guarding was the second oldest girl in the year and I was choppy. Because you gotta get like why toget- toll and also I was just. That was just my build at the time I was loving the curry and I had no self conscious about my body whatsoever. I loved having a tummy. I didn't know about thighs very innocent child. I wasn't remotely interested in the way that I look and That moment changed everything because I was the happiest girl in the class. I was ridiculed by the entire year I came home. My family founded shocking upsetting. I was the happiest girl year and I was immediately encouraged to diet and so I started my first I about eleven and it was. I was dieting. The way an eleven year old were diet which is with no understanding of any nutrition. I was living on somewhere between like two hundred three hundred calories. A day sometimes lasts which is insane because I was very tall and even by the time I hit five ten in my early teens. I was still consuming sometimes. Want two hundred calories a day a belly move passing out all the time didn't did stop menstruating and thought that I was winning. It never struck you as something wrong with us. No everyone was doing it. Everyone was doing everyone who's taking laxatives. Everyone's drinking teas that. I now rally against so hard There was slimfast cans all over our school. I want you know fell over. One on the steps steps passed out a tiny like fake chocolate bars instead of meals. It was just people were afraid of carbs and Pasta and everyone was on the Atkins Diet. So everyone's smell like metal and also it was just disgusting. It's terrible time and we were all on it so it didn't even feel like something. You really hit ego also at the time because of Hollywood there was this fucking Brag that I think kind of still exists of women pretending they eat so much just unnaturally thin. What a dumb witted Brag finding other mental illness conditions emerging with the eating disorder or. Were you just two out of even notice a depression or an anxiety? I wasn't even out of it. I was high on it like I was just sort of I was I was such a devoted anorexic and I was so it's so time consuming beyond our exit. The amount of time you spend learning new tricks trying new tricks hiding your food all of the all of the things that you have to do with so consuming. The I didn't even know that I had any kind of mental illness. I didn't think I had anorexia. I didn't think there was no. I didn't think there was anything wrong with me. The only thing I thought was wrong with me that I wasn't enough I was never thin enough. Do you understand what Anorexia was and just think it was something other people had. Yeah I used to be jealous. I thought Anorexia could only come in the form of of someone who weighs like three or four stone forty two to fifty six pounds and I would be envious if those people for being able to achieve that. I really didn't get it. But that's the problem is if you give this misinformation children. We don't have the whole picture. We do we also have this like youthful arrogance to us where we think our health will last forever. Our lives will go on forever will never be Will never face the side effects in. No one knows about osteoporosis. Kidney damage or liver damage all the IBS. All the different things that happened to people who mess around with their health my thyroid. My drains. Everything is exhausted. I mean I even now sorry twenty years after I started sobbing myself. That's what I was gonna ask because so often people think of it as. Oh anorexia is when you're not eating enough but it is a mental thing that even if you people can have anorexia yeah and and even if you find better eating habits later on the reasoning the processing of the idea of food is still always there. So many of told our weaponized food in our minds. So we're taught that like food. Is You know if you have a parent who beats you and then feel bad about it and then gives you a meal afterwards. You start to associate that meal with love or if your parents are. You're not supposed to eat then. Food becomes rebellion and food. Become self harm so we can. We can give food all these kind of different personalities and I think a lot of people lot more people realized then they realize even during the the guilt associated food and the coding and the words that we use around food of clean eating dirty foods. This is just this shame Sort of slipped in an envelope within all of these ways of discussing this thing that we need to give our body nutrition so it can function food fuel and I didn't know that until I hit thirty

Social media linked to spike in mental health disorders in teens

"They say social media is linked to a rise in mental health disorders in teenagers or young adults. Born after one thousand nine hundred five are experiencing more and more mental health issues. And they think it's because the social media now when you guys hear that you're like, okay, I've heard this. It's been beaten to death. All right, people on social media. They get depressed. Okay. What are you guys on social media? Are you guys on Facebook Twitter? Instagram. Certain. Red. It's. Certain sites. Rica comment on stuff, that's social media, social media. About Facebook Twitter. You guys are dating apps. You guys communicate with others through the internet. The kind of all counts. And do you notice? And it's okay to admit this that if you post something on the internet or on social media, or whatever and you get some likes. Are you get some attention? You feel good. Picture posted a picture. My lunch. They like the way my lunch looks the. Yeah. You feel a little good. People are noticing. If people are thinking about you mean, they don't some people just like like like a move on. Don't give it a second thought. But that's not what you think you think that oh, you know, they're really into their fan of yours. He felt like you have a fan. It's really it's really euphemistic, you know, where you feel like, you know, people really care about what you say or do. They don't think that because they like something on social media. Have you ever felt bad because you posted something and crickets, just nothing? Well. You're a little tougher because you're a grown up in your lack of social media stupid. I'm not gonna let a post that failed. You know, I'll go ahead and live about my day. It'd be fine. But not for these young adults because this is the world they're in. If they post something of social media, and it doesn't get likes. It's a bad day for some. This is the world there, and they don't know our world. Our world was if somebody gives you a phone call or if somebody gives you a look or a week. You know, you're like, I still got it. I'm good. They don't have. That's not their world. If somebody doesn't notice your social media post. It's it's it's a big deal. So the research published in the American psychological association found sharp increases in the number of young adults and adolescents who reported experiencing negative psychological symptoms, specifically those born in one thousand nine hundred or later. The greatest spike happened around two thousand eleven and that's when social media exploded. I mean, I got on Facebook two thousand nine with radio. But it really got big really big, you know, about a year or two later medical standpoint. I think it's because the lack of sleep. You know, our phones absorbs and then my phone will light up the whole room when somebody comments on my post. So my phone is always just somebody just commented on your Facebook post. So I'm starting to post less at night. So my phone does a blow up and wake me up. But your body picks up on that. And so you're not getting good sleep. Plus, it's hard to fall asleep. If you're on social media or on your phone before you go to bed. So. Older adults. They haven't seen such a rise in psychological symptoms. Symptoms, but they found an increase of major depression, suicidal, thoughts, psychological, distress and more attempted suicides after two thousand ten versus the mid-2000s. They see that increase was by far the largest in adolescence and young adults. These trends are weak or non-existent among adults twenty six years old and over suggested a generational shift in mood disorders instead of an overall increase across all ages. Why are young kids thinking about suicide? Well, is it because people on YouTube are teaching them? How to do it is because people on social media are telling them go coach yourself. G k y if you see a g k y on any of your kids phones. Somebody that you'd better call that other kids, mama. You better bring the rain that kid is on your kid to go kill themselves. And you're kidding me lesson. Dr twinge, gene twinge the author of the book, I gen and professor of psychology at San Diego State university. Analyze data from the national survey of drug use and health, which is a nationally Representative survey that looked at drug alcohol use mental health of health related issues. And it looked at a survey from two hundred thousand adults or adolescents aged twelve to seventeen little babies from two thousand five to two thousand seventeen and almost four thousand adults from eighteen over the age of two thousand eight and two thousand seventeen. Now, they didn't ask about specific diagnoses for depression, or bipolar, etc. But that's experience depressive symptoms and the rate of individuals reporting symptoms, like major depression in the past twelve months jumped. By fifty two percent. Adolescence and sixty three percent and young adults. Seventy one percent increase in yoga dolts experiencing serious, psychological distress. They say the radio on the dental suicidal thoughts or other suicide related outcomes increases staggering forty seven percent from two thousand eight two thousand seventeen. One reason for that increase could be the digital media use. They think it has a bigger impact on teens and young adults than older adults. And you know, a big question we have also is. I mean, are we Bruin a generation of weenies? Our kids

And so it was sort of explained as you might explain that to a young child, you know, your feet don't talk to your brain. Yeah. So you had good parents. Yeah. Yeah. Very strong. Parents Chris grew up with that dreamy accent. And he also grew up with messages of positivity and strength that he wasn't defined by cerebral palsy that despite his difficulty walking and the exhaustion he wasn't special. He wasn't to be pitied. And he lived that mindset getting with things getting on with life. Chris got on with it until his twenties when things were harder severe, depression, suicidal Itchen and an attempt at dancing, a traditional Irish dance. That left him physically wrecked and emotionally aware that his body would always let him down. No matter. How good his attitude was no matter how he tried to just get on with it. I don't know where I fit. The problem comes that. Because the narrative I had around to spend the growing up is one. Not of my peers people my age disability. In the UK have very positive thing. The social model. The issue isn't Barry is in your condition. It's barriers put up by society. But leaves, you know, space and no tools no way to say come. We talk about the the icon run anymore. Hit my twenties. My wrong. Komo do that I. I didn't know you allowed to feel resentment to disability. I had never heard a disabled person say, I'm okay with my disability. But I don't let this bet. Struggle with this and I can be positive around. What I do. I will try to do. But there are some this that is still ship. 'cause he'd like to be able to move forward and site actually, this can be positive on. I can be negative on those two things are not mutually exclusive not contradictory, and I can have all of these aspects of disability..
