Republicans to Introduce Censor Resolution Against the Squad for Contributing to Anti-Semitic Attacks

"Group of Republicans This is from Breitbart will introduce a sensor resolution to condemn and censure the so called squad. For defending foreign terrorist organizations and using rhetoric, which contributed anti Semitic attacks across the United States. Now you would think this is not controversial. We're talking, of course about centering Omar. An AOC and Talib and Presley. But it is controversial because this is the heart and soul of the Democrat Party. And the Republicans. The group has led by Michael Waltz of Florida. Good guy Jim Banks, Indiana. Claudia, attending New York. She's great to remember they tried to steal the race from her. The resolution says the squad members of defended foreign terrorist or I didn't hear the attorney general talk about this. I didn't hear that fake phony fraud. Merrick Garland talk about this. As the late great Bob Grant would say. The central resolution says the squad members have defended foreign terrorist organizations. And inciting anti Semitic attacks across the United States. And so forth. The group of Republicans wrote in the resolution that Talib has accused the Israeli government ethnic cleansing and claimed Israel was promoting racism and the human humanization. The resolution meant his Omar calling the Israel military response to Hamas strikes an act of terrorism rather than self defense. She also accused the United States are backing crimes against humanity. This is why Judy Jazz, Ceron. I want you to listen media it. Your low IQ Cuba phones, media matters you low I Cuba phones. "To violently resist or overthrow the United States government. And supported their belief that the United States government is purportedly it's eating its constitutional authority. Wouldn't that include Marxist organizations? Who don't even care about the constitutional authority they just want to overthrow. Wouldn't that include the ideology that we've been talking about critical race theory and other critical theories, not just critical race theory. Who insists on overthrowing our government. Who are promoting Marxism from the classrooms and beyond. What you're going to see when you read American Marxism as we have professors. Specifically We're indoctrinating kids. On violently overthrowing the United States government. They are tenured there on the public payroll. They are, quote unquote scholars. They are celebrated. And you're going to meet some of them. Democrats Battle Republican-Led Voting Curbs in Georgia

"Well we faced a democracy crisis when the president of the united states called georgia's secretary of state on january second and told him to quote find eleven thousand seven hundred and eighty votes. We survived that crisis because the georgia secretary of state refused to lie about the vote. Count and change the vote count so that donald trump could win the state of georgia. Instead of joe biden. Republicans in georgia do not want that to happen again and so they have removed the secretary of state from the position of authority in the aftermath of an election and they have moved georgia closer to the possibility of cheating the vote out next time. Donald trump calls an asks them to do that. And george is not the only state that is trying to make it for donald trump to call and tell them how many votes he needs to win an election. I guess tonight. Ari berman has studied the new election. Laws passed by republican state. Legislatures this year and says quote. These bills are part of the greatest assault on voting rights since the end of reconstruction and they raised the likelihood of a nightmare. Scenario or gop controls state legislatures use their increased power to override a democratic victory in twenty twenty four or persuade republicans in congress if they regain power in two thousand twenty two to do the same republicans are trying to make it more difficult to vote in areas where democratic turnout is. Strong democrats have fought that kind of voter suppression in the past but they have never had to fight republican attempts to change what happens after people vote the washington. Post calls. That the most dangerous thing but republican. Legislators are doing now. The washington post reports potentially most dangerous legislatures are giving themselves the right to interfere in vote counting and election disputes. Merrick Garland's Radical Plan To Combat Voter Suppression Is Not What It Seems

"Garland. I wonder the Democrats. Desperately wanted him on the United States Supreme Court. He's not a moderate, He's not thoughtful. He's not reasonable. Is another one of them. Them. Radical. I want you to know what he's doing. We have the head of the Civil rights division of the Justice Department who is a flat out her name is Clark as I recall flat out racist, she said, and written some of the most unbelievable stuff. I think Susan Collins voted for confirmation to but nonetheless, there she is. And having secured that position. At the request of Biden and this attorney general. What's happening now? According to Yahoo News, John Ward. Attorney General Merrick Garland. Said that the Department of Justice will dramatically increase its focus on preventing voter suppression. Now you have to understand something. Voter suppression for the Democrat party means what Means state legislatures having rational voting systems in place. Not anarchy. So he's going to increase its focus on preventing voter suppression by doubling the number of lawyers in the civil rights division. In response to a rash of lawsuits or look Excuse me. Laws that have been made made it harder to vote in many states. Now you have to understand how lousy the media Made it harder to vote in many states. So if I want to leave Virginia and vote in, say, Maryland and they say you can't because I'm not a citizen of Maryland. You see, Maryland has just made it harder for me to vote in Maryland. Mr. Producer you understand? It's just disgusting. Our media have really killed this country. We will use all existing provisions to ensure that we protect every qualified Americans seeking to participate in our democracy, Garland said in one of his Castro like speeches Garland compared his action to that taken by former Attorney General Robert Kennedy, who said the Justice Department needed a lot more lawyers to combat laws and said says nothing to do. With what Robert Kennedy had to do during segregation. This is so outrageously disgusting. They're going to double the lawyers and the civil rights division and unleash them on our country. Harass the state legislatures try and push this H R one s one into law, forcing states to adopt them. Because Congress couldn't pass it. That is exactly what's going on here.

Biden Is Selling Out To Iran and Putin

"Joe Biden is. First of all the press is not going to criticize Joe bad. No matter what, under any circumstances. So they're going to let him ride through this presidency ride quietly through his presidency. If not celebrate it, no matter what. No matter what The international organizations think Joe Biden walks on water. The European heads of government love Joe Biden. In other words, when he says America is back, as Joe Biden likes to say in his Stupid, usual way. It doesn't mean America's back. He means America selling out his back. Because Donald Trump Had America first. And by the way, America first didn't mean we wouldn't have alliances and strong alliances. It didn't mean we we wouldn't work with international institutions. That meant we wouldn't Surrender to them. That they weren't our number one priority. That the process wasn't the number one priority. What's the best interests of America? America is the number one priority, but not for Joe Biden, not for the Democrats. Not for the media. And by the way, Happy 75th birthday, Mr President, President Donald Trump Happy 75th birthday. We miss you badly. But here's a perfect example. So far, he's undone. Almost all of the Sanctions. President Trump put in place against Putin. The biggest one is the pipeline. So now Russia will have billions and billions of dollars coming in from Germany to fund its war machine. And to prop up its government. Joe Biden did that in one act. One act. SEC Chair Gary Gensler Plans 'Woke' Corporate Disclosure Rules

"Charlie. I don't know that we've ever spoken. If we did. It was a long time ago. How are you? It's a huge honor and pleasure, Mark. We did speak. You had me out for a book I wrote back in 2000 and three when I was at Newsweek magazine believe. Oh, my God. Well, let me say this. It's a real pleasure. You're a real serious reporter and you do your work and You broke a story today that caught my ear. And I'd like you to explain who is Gary Gansler. And what is he doing? Gary Gensler is a longtime fixture on Wall Street, essentially the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington in the sort of he worked at Goldman Sachs. He worked in the Obama administration, and he worked at the end. I think he worked in the Clinton administration, so he's been going back and forth. He's pretty rich. She was a partner at Goldman Sachs. Now he's the head of Wall Street's top cop, the Securities and Exchange Commission. Um, and he's doing something really interesting now over the years. Gary Gensler has more from sort of a Clinton Democrat into, I guess the best way to put it as an Elizabeth Warren Democrat. He's extremely woke extremely progressive. And he has some extreme ideas of how he wants Corporate America to act. He wants corporate America to adopt extreme woke. Policies he wants. Essentially every company to environment embrace environmental standards. He wants every company to have quote unquote diverse boards and diverse workforces, and he he wants to use government as the lever to do that, and he's doing that right now. At the Securities Exchange Commission. Because the Security Exchange Commission has enormous power over corporate America. It basically can mandate what they do and how they do it, and it could do that through a lot of different levers enforcement actions. In this case, what he's doing is he's proposing rules. And those rules will be passed by the Securities Exchange Commission, which is majority Democrat now, so he's going to ram them through without any without any Republican voice, And these are rules that essentially forced companies. To be more woke in certain areas in in terms of environmental issues in terms of board diversity, they will have to disclose those that their diversity have what they're doing for the environment. And when they do that, obviously, it's going to be a an object where the mainstream media is going to weigh in and say, Look at this company. Company. X is not his woke his company wide. They're not doing as much here than not doing as much there. Uh And I guess the bottom line is this. Listen, you may believe in these policies if you're liberal, if you're a free market capitalist like me, I care about the bottom line, to be honest with you, But if you're a shareholder, you really should be caring about the bottom line. These are not bottom line issues, and they Feed the S E. C s mandate. If you read the mandate, which is to make the markets safe, poor investors to make sure companies disclose stuff that investors care about for too wet to to weigh whether they should Invest in the stock or not. I mean, this is politicizing companies and corporate disclosure to a level that we've never seen before, and he's doing it. He proposed these rules and they

"There's no system keeping you down. There are incidents of stupidity. We should address and racism we should address. But if this institution and system is keeping you down, then how did you become such a tremendous success? I mean, is that why you're such a threat to these idiots on the left part of my language? Yeah. Oh, yeah, I definitely think so. I definitely think that's why and I'd go one step further. I think whether it's mark or myself or our Senator Scott or Burgess Owens or anybody else. You know, when we are out there making our arguments it goes past just Saying that God given natural law and a constitution that limits central governmental power is essential to liberty and freedom. In the prosperity of all people. It's more than that. It's also the reality that we go to step further and saying, if you look at some of the areas where the most quote unquote inequality exists. These are in areas that have largely been governed by Democratic liberal policy for almost two generations since the Civil Rights Act, and since the voting rights Act If you look at some of the communities where the left like talking about, um, um you know, black people having to wait in line from golly amount of hours or people having to wait in line for golly amount of hours. Those are typically in Democrat areas where the supervisor of elections of the Democrat and they, frankly either didn't plan through acquisition of equipment or didn't plan making sure they had additional polling places open to make sure people can vote easily. It's looking at the idea that if you believe that a black kid in America really what it is today, a poor kid in America somebody on the on the on the low end of the socio economic spectrum. Doesn't have access to the education they need. Then the solution isn't to put more money into the same system that has failed people before. It's actually reinvent the system reform the system around market principles because market principles have proven to provide more product and more service to more people at a lower cost to those people. Than any other system on the face of the planet.

"The cause is multifaceted and debated but it comes. After biden undid trump era policies including a rural aimed at keeping asylum seekers in mexico while they await their hearings the by administration is still using trump era royal aimed at stemming the spread of coronavirus to turn away all migrants except for unaccompanied minors. And they're now struggling to house those miners adequately in the longer term. It is not clear that there's a consensus among democrats on a broader immigration reform package. The democratic caucus includes reviews ranging from those who've called for abolishing ice the immigration enforcement agency to those who want stricter enforcement including e-verify which would require a business to check the employment eligibility of their employees with government data. According to politico a house whip count showed democrats. Don't currently have the votes to pass. Biden's big reform package that would provide a pathway to citizenship for most immigrants in the country illegally. So let's start with the short-term how serious of a challenge for the biden administration is this migrant surge at the border. It's pretty serious. I know that it is often framed as a right wing. Talking point that they're migrant caravans at the border and there is a lot of reporting to underscore that some of what we're seeing now is seasonal or it's expected after the border has been kind of shut down for the last year because of the pandemic reality is you said at the top here that it's still the highest. It's been in roughly twenty years and that's a problem for the biden administration particularly as they expect the numbers to pick up. Even higher spy didn't even said in an interview earlier this month. He's telling migrants don't come. I think what's hard in is a continual issue for democrats in this is that it's a little bit unexpected. It's hard to know when there will be surges. What is driving the surges when the surges will stopped enter immigration. System is really just capacity for how to house a lot of the unaccompanied minors who are trying to cross the border to and you know it's one thing to roll back trump's policies but then. What do you substitute in place. And that's what democrats have to grapple. It's now i think there is some degree of truth in the notion that like if the press treats this as a huge deal than it carries more political salient maybe more downside risk for democrats. Something one thing that kind of jumps out to me though looking at some of these numbers is the notion of like thermostatic public opinion. Which is that opinion. Kind of tends to actually go in the opposite direction of whoever has power whoever is president under trump democratic opinion both among democrats reconcile voters shifted in a much more pro immigration direction over the course of four years of trump when biden enters office and now sudden key would bear blame or credit..

"Department Pickle Times report. I mean look look seriously all all of us have covered the justices where we have a we remember. We have written about cases where there were allegations of improper influence from the White House. And some I'm Justice Department case involving campaign daughter or something whatever I ruined all right okay and usually it's a little murky you know but we would make a big deal about it and I just WanNa read. This is the lead of the New York Times Story. Just to kind of adjectives in. It's really it's actually a very simply written Lee. I'm GonNa read this year adjectives. You read mother okay. Four prosecutors abruptly withdrew on Tuesday from the case of president in trump's longtime friend Roger J stone junior after senior Justice Department officials intervened to recommend a more lenient sentence for crimes he committed in a bid did protect the president mission right. I mean here here you have. It's mind boggling. Right I mean here you have a president intervened in a the case not to help political ally but a case that goes directly to his own personal conduct. And the sense I have. We're here up here in Manchester following this election but emailing and you know and texting sources back in in Washington. I think this is really rocked people at the Justice Department. I think this is a pretty serious. It seems like a core. All these concerns that we've had about you know what trump would do to the rule of law. This is what people were worried about. This exact thing was that people and we've seen we've seen this sort of trend line. We've seen the vector going unions this direction with trump trying to get jeff sessions fired. Saying where's my Roy. Cohn he wants Jensen Department to be his own mob law firm and just protecting him. You know he's been talking about this and then they bring bill. Barring billboards is investigating things involving the Russian scandal trying to in some ways it seems to prove from the crazy conspiracy theories even after the I G report and others have not delivered that those goods to the to the president. And you know I thought I I kinda thought we'd see more of this just happening in the shadows the shadows that you guys live in that we notice but this is as public and as is an obvious and I think the brazenness of this you know is what shocked. The brazenness is why trump gets away with it right because it is so brazen it is so out there. That bill bar to everyone said Oh. He's going to be the adult in the room when it comes to the Justice Department. He's institutionalists channelised. Yeah we said that this show too now no need to worry it does your fear Cherifi. Look I don't disagree with anything either. The review has said on this. Don't add up but here but let's put a little perspective on it. You know on February twenty. I believe judge amy me. Berman Jackson is going to deliver a sentence for Roger Stone. My strong hunch. Is that if anything. She's is now more inclined to deliver a tougher sentence than she would. Otherwise have been because of this but she huge she was never going to get a pardon she was never well. That's yes that will give driving. After the election. There is a high likelihood there will be pardons for a number of people but I mean you know my guests. Look she was never gonNa give him seven and a half to nine years. That was although it's per the guidelines lines that's largely because of the witness tampering charge and the wist witness tampering charge was the squishy est of them all it all rested on emails and texts that stone sent to credit call after he learned what credit co was quoted in San as saying in that aforementioned book Russian Roulette and he said prepare to die Aycock sucker and prepared and seem to threaten the welfare of Bianca. Credit goes service dog who by the way has been a guest has been the guest on credit cards and shoes what was in the grand. Jury I think straight from the grand grand jury to skulduggery like number of guests have been but you know look credit costs said on the witness stand and amplified that in a letter to the judge Jackson. He never took those comments seriously. He never thought Roger Stone which might have to might have brought. You might green jewelry. I mean no. He wasn't asked. He said in his letter if I had been asked by stones stupid lawyers on Cross examination Asian or didn't have the wits to ask you know. Did you ever feel threatened in any way he would've said No. So you know. Look that doesn't technically get you off the hook on a witness tampering charge. But it does sort of you know. Make it less eerie. I'll just go ahead he. They've gone off. He's gone off easy on many other things including things related to to all this business but but he's going for is going well committee he. He may be going to go to prison because charming. That will be up to judge Jackson. It'd be up to the Donald trial that could who's taking. Yeah I know a very personal interest in this but you know we've we've seen in the past the politicization of the justice. I'm from both sides complaining about so when Bill Clinton met with attorney. General Lynch on a tarmac. Everyone on the Republican side was convinced that something wrong had what happened and that Clinton had some output in the fix on the Hillary Clinton investigation. It was something that was dumb and shouldn't have happened. There was no evidence of any wrongdoing doing but it was it was certainly improper. And I'm just waiting. I mean I Mitt. Romney hasn't tweeted yet. But I'm just waiting for Susan Collins to speak up strongly. Ah I've learned my lesson. Think you may have a long way to the justice. We used to have even guy like Chuck Grassley in the the past to care about whistle blowers used to care about issues. Like this and this is I think a big reflection of how the soda coat of trump has just reached into every corner of government in our public life. And no one's going to you know. Oh On that side. It's going to take issue with that. The the ones who've had their own little magazine and websites now and they don't get paid any attention and we will complain times. We'll have it's great stories and we're not going to have the type of three day four day five days scandal even longer that this would have happened anytime in the past. Although it is astonishing that this is happening like how many days I mean I guess. That's you know we got to do you day. We take care of all the enemies of the family right. Boom boom boom boom boom. You don't sit around you know when your boss you don't sit around and wait for Shit to happen. Been Gone pigging of mob families. You had an encounter today in New Hampshire with one Donald Trump. Junior tell us what happened. I guess if we're using the mob reference be calling the junior don well. I was at Shaver. Sean which is a landmark restaurant and the northwestern part of Manchester. Where sort of Canadian? In style they serve routine if you don't know what it is. I'm not going to describe it but smoked meat that you can get kind of Montreal and great breakfast place and it's also the type of place. Is that politicians always stop by to the photo op handshakes. So I was there with three members of my staff and we're eating are smoked meat in our big stacks of pancakes and French toast and incomes of Donald trump junior and his gal pal Kim go file former Fox woman from Fox News Fox and she's I think now she's running I think she's working for the SUPERPAC. Okay from the trump SUPERPAC. I think she has an official job But anyway they come in and they walk around and they say hello to a few few people. They don't come to our table now that may be because some trump volunteers earlier came over to us and try to trump bumper stickers. And we said we didn't want any any and sits down at a booth but before he sits down I take innocuous video of him just glad handing and I put it on twitter and say if you could ask I. Donald trump junior question. What would it be? And within ten minutes. Two thousand responses most of them are not even fit for this podcast. Okay but a lot more than what. What would you ask in? Lobby said leave please. But there were some you know what are the best offers you've gotten for the trump hotel through the GSA who funds your golf courses overseas. I mean there were some really good questions and then some That involve parts of the body and objects outside the parts of the body in any event. So I just wanted you know it was an opportunity. He came in which secret service. He sat in a corner booth With Kim and there was sort of a body man with him. When we walk out I'll go up and say something to him so we walk out and go up to the table I go? Can I ask you a question. And he kind of goes. Oh Okay Hey and I said do you know who you are. I don't know if you knew but I think Kim might might recognize me at some point in this exchange so you say you know I always this. I always wanted to ask you. I want to know. Why did you take that meeting with the Russian emissary after you got got an email saying this was part of an effort? Russian government sensitive secretive effort to help your campaign. I mean you know. Did you think that was appropriate. It and he says I've been through this all. I've testified that at and you telling me I can't talk to people. I talk to people all the time. I can't can't donate when I talk to talk to people and I said Yeah you do. There's nothing illegal necessarily about talking to people. But I'm wondering why you thought it was appropriate while you didn't think it was inappropriate to have that type of conversation at this point. His body man stands up like he puts his chest to my I chestnut. He's about five five for the body man but he's not a very big Bano and but there are secret service guys two tables over and they stand up. You don't move in but they're kind of close to begin with and but he stands up because we're just trying to practice here. We just don't eat breakfast here. I go I know I came over and I politely asked if I could ask a question. So that's all that's all I've done. And Don Jr. goes on about well you know I can talk to him I want and then I said Yeah but you were told that this was part of the Kremlin effort to help your campaign and at that point Kim pipes up and says no. He wasn't no he wasn't at all. He was never told that so that the guys almost as chest bumping either body man. I tried to push me away and he goes. You know we're just turning breakfast. I said well I'm I think I'm done here so I I leave and you you know the facts to well. Michael isn't because indeed there is an email saying exactly that the Versi mail he got about this was from the Guy Rob Goldstone. So who worked for 'EM INAUGURA this Russian pop star Blah Blah Blah. Helps it up the meeting so what you say. I love it nationally later in the summer. Yeah and it says says this is part of Russia effort to help your campaign so this was all filmed videoed and went up on the Internet and the tweets tapes out. There loved it a lot particularly liked the fact checked. I put up the email and said this is this seems like she's lying. Why would she lied about this? I don't know next time you see her out and about please ask her. But so yeah I should point out that Don Jr. has never testified in public public before any committee about what transpired so your encounter with him on video on twitter at your what your twitter handle again David Corn. DC Yeah David Corn DC will be maybe the only opportunity people have to actually see Don Jr. respond to questions about the trump tower. Many basically said you know what you should ask them to Biden. Yeah Right. We're here in Manchester on primary night. It just seems fitting that you would actually be able to do something like that Walk up to the President's son and ask questions like that only in a place like New Hampshire where we have like you know quaint democracy in action in and you know retail politicking and so trump. Relection I'm not sure we can do. Okay let's enjoy while we will enjoy it while we can and and Before you go. David Corn Win. Is that long-awaited paperback of Russian Roulette going to finally come out. Oh and sometime in the future sometime in the future before the election though sounded arguing over. Yeah I think we've got it all nailed down by the way. Hey Yeah you had a Typo in Mitt Romney's quote under the calling abuse of trust trust. You know that's what we have fact checkers for all right. David thanks for joining.

"It could be that there are some African Americans who go you know what I don't like I'm sticking with Biden. I don't give a shit. What those white voters in New Hampshire did I don't care destroy? He's trying McCain in some ways and well the Hampshire reverse Hallelujah McCain one New Hampshire in south you're on right right or or what Bush Bush was on the ropes in South Carolina because you've been beaten by McCain by a lot and he turned it around and South Carolina if people like an underdog you know so. I don't think Biden's GonNa win the nomination. But I think it's conceivable that he makes a mini comeback and get some black votes in South Carolina. You you know maybe exit out in South Carolina numbers in New Hampshire Very Bachelet's like and that's a big story today. Pathetic less than ten. This is a story that Biden former vice. So let's Warren. It's a big story that violence on the ropes. Here's here's a question for both of you. Warren obviously a big disappointment for finishing fourth. Does she get out before Super Tuesday. Or does she she plow through risking humiliation and losing to Bernie on our homestate in Massachusetts. Does she get out before Jon Ward does she. She get out before Super Tuesday. I think she gets out sooner than later. If these results continue and I actually kinda picked up a little bit of Simpatico Matico type connection between her and Klobuchar tonight. She made comments. I think in her speech that were a veiled shot at Bernie. Didn't she said something about Bernie's followers. It was. Yeah it was about hard lining yes about supporters kind of doing other candidates the dates which they did at the dinner on Saturday night and global jar made a comment that was sort of a an olive branch to warrant during her speech. That's something interesting to walk. How do you need to do what I'm going to do tomorrow? John All thing that I wanNA find out tomorrow and I know I've known both club. HR and Warren for pretty long time. But what I don't know I'm going to find out is what their personal relationship is in the US Senate. I know that Khloe Char does not a great personal relationship with some other senators which I'm familiar with. As in some cases her staffers felt like there was a toxic environment in in the clutch. Char- office and they've gone looking for jobs with other senators who kind of take them in his refugees from clovinger. But that doesn't even that doesn't necessarily are we gonna GonNa start reading more stories.

"In this race that pretty soon it's going to be down to Bernie versus this somebody not necessarily so. That's what everybody assumes. I don't necessarily true so I think that things are different now because i. I think you basically have four candidates now warren and well five because Biden could always make a comeback in South Carolina. Because nobody else ZIP nobody act. That mean mets Ossetian embarrassing. He's going to win the nomination. But in less Bernie he is really picking up a lot of black voters and Bernie has done very little addition. He's been in his. You know he's down more than fifty percent percent from where he was in this state for years ago and he lives next door. Brunell was burned person race. But why did you. Why did lose all that support? If you're a politician on the move you don't bleed support you. Also one place. His base is why it's very clear now is basis one quarter of the Democratic Party. Twenty five to thirty percent. I don't personally six percent cut and that was enough trump nominated. Well what happened with trump. And everybody's making this comparison trump was a new candidate so he kept people were tuning into him through all all the time and he was adding people are going like that. Guy and Bernie is so familiar like an old shoe. The idea of people going you know I mean some warn people will go go.

"You wouldn't obscene George W Bush come out and just say like you know the. Nobody likes Mitt Romney. That Guy Sucks. It would have been a weird thing to see and or whoever whoever Rick Santorum or someone like that it would have been very strange You just you don't usually see things like this. Usually they either endorse somebody or they They stay quiet until it's the general election and then they campaigned for that person. The other thing. That is kind of strange that it's not as if Hillary's endorsed Joe Biden. I mean Joe Biden was vice president. When she was secretary of state they were in the Senate together? They've you know they. They had a relationship when she was first lady. And Joe Biden was defending her rapist. I husband they've known each other for a long time and it's not as if she's coming out and endorsing Joe Biden and criticizing Bernie Sanders. She's just criticizing Bernie Sanders. So take from that what you will i. I don't know maybe the door still is open in in her mind but it's very clear that that she will never forgive Joe Biden. Excuse me Bernie Sanders for you. Know running against her there was not but that was her nomination in her mind. Nobody was allowed to challenge. It also just shows you what a Bitch Bernie Sanders is. I mean the fact that Bernie Sanders bent the need of this woman went around endorsed. Her went around campaigning. Being for and then this is what he gets in return. You know there's there is a lesson There's a couple of lessons number one. Don't be a bitch number two. Don't suck up to the establishment. You'll get nothing in return for it. That's I'm surprised. People haven't learned these lessons before. I remember when Rand Paul in two thousand twelve. Delve was like endorsing Mitt Romney. And he was saying all these nice things about Mitch McConnell and I know that he had this idea that he just endorsed Mitt Romney and and and Chummy chummy with Mitch McConnell. Then then they'd all endorse him in two thousand sixteen and none of them did he got no support from any of them. They're never it doesn't matter how much Bernie Sanders goes along with the party. The party never going to go along with him they were they ask Bernie Sanders about this and he just dodged the question. He was just like You you know they asked him. I mean he said something that was like remotely funny they asked him about Hillary saying nobody likes you and he said something like well. I should hope my wife likes me or something but again it just this really goes it. It just shows the weakness of Bernie Sanders and I know for a fact. I've talked to a lot of people and I know some people actually worked for the campaign and stuff there's a lot the people around Bernie Sanders. Who get really frustrated with this part of him I thought they were frustrated that he endorsed Hillary Clinton that he he you know like campaign for her That you know there was that whole like grass roots Bernier bust movement. And they want. That's what they wanted burning or bust and you know he he He basically told them No. Were Supporting Hillary Clinton and I know that there's a lot of them who are just fucking very frustrated that he won't fight he likes refuses to fight. Think about this right. Let's say Bernie Sanders is telling the truth which I tend to believe he has because Elizabeth Warren is you. You know a known liar. Let's say he was telling the truth that they like. This conversation never happened and he never said that a woman couldn't be president. Just assuming that's the case as I'm sure most Bernie supporters would would believe so Elizabeth. Warren lied about him. A couple of weeks before Iowa in front of tens of millions of people Lies About him. Basically calling him a sexist stabbing our friend in the back for political purposes And and then at the end of the debate he goes to shake her hand like a fucking chump and she refuses to shake his hands and attacks him and says you called me a liar On national television and what is Bernie Sanders instinctual response to that. What does he say? Let's not do this here. That's Bernie Sanders in a nutshell. Let's let's not do this here. Okay let's go that's it no fight. Nothing I'm sorry but if you're saying I want to overthrow the entire establishment album and I want to lead a revolution I don't you have to be a little bit more of a fighter than that. Now I'm not saying that Bernie Sanders is talking about leading violent revolution like okay. You don't need to be a killer chiller but you have to be willing to to stand up for yourself. And if Hillary Clinton you know it's like Oh my God the argument is right there in front of you it. It doesn't even take that much. How would you respond to Hillary Clinton? I mean it's just right there. Well I don't know I mean you the DNC rigged the system for you. And you still lost in the general cartoon cartoon character. I don't know you could just say that you could just say Like well I don't know I campaigned and supported Hillary Clinton and she seemed quite fine with me. When I was throwing my support behind are now all the sudden? Nobody likes me. She seemed to like me just fine when she was asking me to go speak on her campaign trail. That's it I mean. Just there's like fifty more just something you gotta give something. But he just he can't muster it up he Bernie Bernie Sanders. Just doesn't he doesn't have that. I don't know I've been speculating for a long time. I don't know if he just doesn't really care to win. He's already got his His next book in mind or maybe it's just a character thing. Maybe it's just a character thing where it's just. He's just a non-confrontational Guy Just doesn't have the courage to get into these scrums but it's it to me. At least it just looks weak and pathetic when these people are attacking you and then you're apologizing and do the same thing thing with Joe Biden. He ended up polishing that the guy called them corrupt. I'm so sorry he would call you. Corrupt you're corrupt. You know sure you're part of this corrupt system where the corporate you know. He'll say things like the corporations own the senators so okay so the corporations abrasions are paying his fucking family members while she's writing laws on their behalf but that's not enough to be labeled corrupt. I don't know I think it's GonNa take a a little bit more than that to get the socialist revolution that some of these people are looking for which is good we can capitalism can breath. These a I don't think Bernie Sanders. There's is the guy I mean. The the the irony of all of this is that Bernie Sanders would be the toughest match up for Donald Trump in a national election because Bernie Sanders would take all of that you know outside our energy away from Donald Trump. He would have all of this like populist. Pro Worker Energy But but I don't know I don't think he's got the the fight am to get there. We'll say it's not like he doesn't have a shot at this thing. Still we'll say a big part of that because Joe Biden is the front runner. All right guys. The addition of questions to the census was James Madison's idea in seventeen ninety so it's always been done but it was not the original purpose if one of the founding fathers I had this bright idea to amend the Census Act Seventeen Ninety say as long as we're asking as long as we're counting has why don't we ask people what they're if they're a man or woman or what their ages or what their occupation is and so so that's why all these extra data are in in the census <hes> and it comes back to the head count so there's no way that administrative records Kurds can do an accurate headcount right now and the question is what additional questions you want to add on the census itself like age sex race as well as on the American community survey about how the work and so forth that cannot be accessed by <hes> not existing records this census for the first time he right in two thousand ten about two thirds of people Hausa got a census form filled it out and send it back which means the census bureau had to worry about the other one third and and that's called non-response follow up and they send them a letter and they make a phone call and they eventually send someone to the door this time for the first time the Census Bureau is gonNA use administrative records Kurds as part of non-response follow up so there are using administrative records if someone doesn't fill out the form and they refused to talk to someone sends us now has the capability I looking at Howard now. Do you know what they're using. In terms of Admin records like drunk doc drivers records or I don't know specifically. It's a variety of different sources yeah but but the kind of fill in the blanks they know this person exists but maybe is the age on on the driver's license says the birthday is X. so that that's fine and this will be a work work in progress over the next few decades at least in our lifetimes. It's not going to replace it. You need to keep in mind as well just by the nature of our country administrative records or not the they're not going to be the end all be all. A do you have to have a certain balance in your country and you can't have you know or at least as yet we've not been able to figure out how to have a diverse and extremely extremely diverse and extremely free country that also has perfect administrative strata records yes and now I WANNA go back to that part of the U._S.. Code I mentioned earlier Congress told the Census Bureau and the Commerce Secretary use administrative records first before you ask questions. That's what the court says Secretary Ross violated so that's on the law. The idea is for Census and commerce always being look at for administrative records that allow them to not ask a question. <hes> you mentioned a couple of minutes ago <hes> some legislation way back in seventeen seventeen ninety on the census <hes> right now congresswoman Maloney has the vice chair of our committee has a bill called the census idea act which calls for three years of testing and research before any question could be added to the census. Does that seem. I'm like reasonable methodology. Do you think that would be <hes> a prudent way of going about things so the insights association was <hes> an endorser of endorsed the idea act <hes>. We think it's a good approach. Actually there've been there've been a variety media different kinds of bills on this issue and I think the congresswoman's is probably the best approach because there are a couple of others that just simply wanted to forbid the asking of US citizenship question forever which we don't agree with because what we wanted to ask next time you know and again it's and I think the census idea gets to the point of adequate testing. I don't know I don't pretend to know enough to be able to say what the right amount of testing and the right number of years of preparation is but I think that that's certainly on the right track and it sounds like like the way the Census Bureau would not to approach adding any kind of question so that's why yeah we endorsed it. I approve and I support the legislation and the legend of the fact that legislations needed indicates failure on the part of the commerce secretary to to adhere to the Census Bureau statistical quality guidelines to to adhere to own bees paperwork reduction at guidelines until end to adhere here to the National Academies Principles Practices the Federal Statistically sees all three call for extensive testing and clearly the <HES> secretary ignored all that so the only none of them are in law and the only recourse is to put that in law to ensure that <hes> testing happens the way it should have and that concludes the second episode of of the economic explainer with the J._C.. Democrats I'm Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and today we talked about the importance of an accurate census. If the trump administration succeeds an adding us as ship question to the survey we will live with the fallout for a decade and if there is only one thing you take away from today's episode. I hope it's that incomplete count would hurt businesses and undermine..

"We don't need to add the question to the census. The secretary overruled the chief scientists. The courts ruled that the secretary violated title thirteen section six because the secretary's choosing gene asked the question. Even though in the state of data already are available the third grounds that swim course looking at our constitutional grounds only two of the courts ruled on that than your case did not accept that as a grounds for the case but the Californian Maryland ruled that the commerce secretary violated the constitution because states have a constitutional right to actually have fair representation Tation in the House of Representatives and in the electoral college so they said that this edition of the citizenship question could skew apportionment and <hes> an electoral college votes because California <hes> and New York in particular could lose seats in the House of Representatives so to Howard's point they should if they do this right half to rule on each of these three laws one way or the other and. A- As a lay person just like Howard I don't see how they can rule against the lower court judges rulings about the E._p._a.. And <hes> entitled Thirteen sections six except that they just ignore it and come up with with their own reasons which would which would indicate that we have a problem with the integrity of our Supreme Court and that's the end of this economics explainer medicine. I'm Congresswoman Caroline and today we talked about some of the factors behind the Supreme Court's upcoming decision on the census. Here's the takeaway from the podcast. It is absolutely critical that the twenty twenty two Senio census be accurate and that the law constitution and Administrative Code Ba followed in conducting an undercounts effect on the census accuracy and by extension on the economy would be a disaster if you've enjoyed the podcast. "Data Hearing Hi. I'm Rachel and I'm Randy immer from the J._C.. The staff and today we're here with Dr Andrew Ramer and Mister Howard Feinberg with a quick chat about how an upcoming Scottish ruling could affect the twenty twenty cents and our economy. Can you talk just briefly about the Supreme Court decision are are you optimistic. The thought the rule in the way that you want them to and where are they in this process right now <hes> based on the what I understand to be the questions that the conservative justices asked at at the April twenty third hearing it's not there questioning is not a cause for optimism <hes>. I'm not a Supreme Court expert. <hes> a lot of people are pessimistic. The hope comes down to John Roberts pulling a A._C._A.. In other words that Roberts was the key reason why obamacare lives because he voted with the Liberals and the hope is that he would do the same thing this time and and I think there's potential for Cavenaugh to do it as well but for the three justices hostesses as conservative justice. It seems like they're willing to do whatever Ross wants them to do and so I think the insight association daily filed an amicus brief in the case with a lot of other businesses we've really focused focused on the the ultimate impact on response rate and accuracy from the addition of the question but certainly just looking at it as the the bystander. I see a very clear line for the justices where they can say this was although the administration has pretty wide latitude as a constitutional matter in determining what's GonNa go on the census. They've also been given very clear guidance guidelines on what they're supposed to follow a process when it comes to setting up the census every ten years and they didn't follow that process so for pure process violations there is I see the armchair constitutional scholar here the receipt I put I put the constitutional concern us is and I'd say the process violations are enough. Enough that that should be able to provide an avenue for them to provide a prison produce a narrow ruling against the addition the three the Supreme Court is reviewing the results of three court cases that that all agree one in in New York one in California and one in in Maryland all three courts agreed that there were two violations of federal law by the Commerce Secretary the Administrative Procedure Act which is just Howard describe the process by which the census the Commerce Commerce secretary is supposed to go through before making a decision like adding citizenship question and all three courts ruled that he violated that he did not follow the process the second violation all three courts agreed on is <hes> <hes>. I'll just give you the the legal code is titled Thirteen Section Six which which says that the Census Congress told the Commerce Secretary the commerce sector that cannot add a question to the centennial census if the data are available through administrative records of the idea was not the burden households with questions for which the government can get the data from existing records. The memo that Chief Scientist at census sent to the commerce secretary. A year and a half ago said that we have the administrative records..

"Sort of more money in the pockets of low income people depending on how much money they make on the other hand, we've got Cory Booker proposing every newborn should be given a Bank account interest bearing Bank account with a thousand dollars in it that they are able to sort of keep keep the interest that accrues on that money and put it toward qualifying expenses like college things like that things that are really meant to build wealth for people who don't have it. And as you right where really seeing some of these proposals. Go beyond what we traditionally here from Democrats raising taxes on the wealthy more spending on. Programs that would benefit low income households. How were they expanding beyond those core issues? Yes. So Democrats traditionally have thought about spending money in terms of safety net programs. So it's, you know, it's beneficial to give people something that also incentivizes them to do something, for example, if you give people Medicaid, they're incentivized to use the healthcare system, you know, not go to the emergency room all the time because they actually have healthcare coverage. It's something that's beneficial to them and the system and same goes with public education, you know, benefits for people like low income housing. This is sort of different in the sense that it just puts money in the pockets of low income people to do with what they want and proponents of the idea say, you know, that's that's really good for them. Because people in different parts of the country really need different things, you know, people in New York City were housing costs have really high really need rental assistance. People living in rural Kansas might really need help with getting fresh food. And so this money just allows them to sort of better help themselves. And what are we hearing from critics who say safety nets like these could discourage recipients from looking for higher paying work or they responding similarly to these new proposals were hearing. Absolutely. And I think it goes even further than that Emory because it's you know, Democrats are really talking about sort of not just very low income families, but sort of more middle income families, you know, the middle class sort of getting money back. And so I think, you know, policymakers who sort of opposed this idea tend to think it it subsidizes people's lifestyle who only work part time or who don't work, and you know, on the right? I think it's it's sort of stoked stronger feelings that Democrats are trying to, you know, insight class warfare take money from people who have earned it and give it to people who haven't. There are also plenty of other issues that Democrats are focusing on as we look toward twenty twenty another other big one that comes to mind is health care. How does income inequality fit into these other issues? Terms of prioritizing strategy. It's a good question. Because all of these proposals cost a ton of money, you know, the direct cash transfer programs that I wrote about here cost anywhere from hundreds of billions to trillions of dollars. So that's you know, that's the same cost that tax law. And and if you have to pick and choose you really don't have money to do one or two things. So I think, you know, Democrats win the presidency in twenty twenty one they would have to think critically about you know, is it really that? We want to just give people more money is a really want that we want to pay for Medicare for all is that we want to do a massive infrastructure package. I mean, all of these things will become competing interests. That's Wall Street Journal reporter Michelle Hackman joining us from Washington. Thank you so much, Michelle. Thank you. And that's what's news. I'm Anne Marie for totally in New York for the Wall Street Journal..

"Then what is the point of just changing our party leadership just for the sake of that what I'm hearing from you is that you don't feel like there's ideological or substantive sort of agenda driven core of this objection. No. I mean, if anything I think that what it does is that it creates a window where we could potentially get more conservative leadership. And when you actually look at the signatories, it is not necessarily reflective of the diversity of the party. We after about sixteen signatories, fourteen of them are male. There are very few people of color in the caucus. They're very there's very few ideological diversity. It's not like, they're progressives that are signing on. It's not like you have a broad based coalition uh. So I find it. I I I'm not totally bought into the concept. You just as Democrats just attempts which group that had sort of worked with your campaign early on you, and they sort of announced your plans to continue the process of primary incumbent Democrats, which is how of course, you got to congress. I wonder like how that how does that color the relationships you have with the incumbents there? Well, I think what's important to articulate what Justice Democrats is about is really. It's not their mission. Their mission isn't were gonna primary Democrats their mission is we're going to support working class candidates to run in midterm elections. And so they have supported and endorsed candidates in red to blues in open primaries, and but they do not shy away from from actual primaries and blue races either. And so, you know, I don't I don't I'm not sure if it really changes much because incumbent Democrats support and endorse against other incumbents all the time you had Dan Lipinski earlier this year. That's what had come and see is that is done. Part of the club hound. So so, but you have people that also support other primary challengers to incumbent as well. Like again, you have Dan Lipinski this year where you have Kirstin gillibrand Pramilla Paul that came in and said, we need change in this community. So I don't think it's anything to out of two to I don't think it's a departure from precedent? But I also think that we need to realize that at least for me, and what I tell my community is that we don't once we get elected to congress. We don't own these seats. We rent them from our communities, and we have to make our case every single time, and that's not can be. I'm saying this to you as an incumbent to be. And I realized that that that that means I hold myself to that standard as well. But I think it makes our democracy health very open that you a lot of what a congressional office does obviously in district is like social security. Disability payment wasn't held up in some logistical problem. And I'm calling up my member of congress be like help me out like that stuff that my my understanding is you don't have that much experience with that. Well, I mean, I know you were content Kennedy's off for like, are you how are you thinking about setting that part of this operation and actually constituent services was what I did in the late Senator Kennedy's office. And that's where I really learn. How important it was for us to have really robust constituent services because that is the real interaction that in everyday person has with their elected official. They say, hey, my Medicare isn't working out. Hey, my my visa application for my fiance isn't getting blacked. What can you do? And so really it cutting through that red tape of. Government bureaucracy in order to serve our constituents is a huge service that we can have. And it's something that we're really looking forward to building out an innovative way your district. I think include or adjacent to the new proposed Amazon headquarters right city..

"I think you know if you wanna look at something they'd more mirrors what democrats need to do to win the house in or you go look at something like the medicaid ballot initiative in may in right which mean is a state that hillary clinton won but to state that was shifting toward trump trump won one of the house district's there and has a very sort of classic example of you know a very white very working class but very nonsouthern and very secular population in in maine and those are the kind of voters that democrats used to do pretty well with not win necessarily secular white working class northerners but do do well well enough that with some college graduate said and others you you can when the state and in the trump era you know democrats were starting to do do much worse with with those group of people and of course means governor you know who was successfully reelect dad was running on a trump ist ethnic grievance politics in hopes long before trump he was absolutely he was he was trump without he he never had trump's media juice to like go national but in many in the he got a lot of attention and you know people like his controversial but but people like them but medicaid expansion ran about ten points ahead of hillary clinton which is just a good sort of reminder that pretty good campaign issue when you're running in white communities it it wasn't either another thing zone bozette it's not like it was like toxic in the more affluent coastal areas like people like these programs and still the most conservative parts of the state are still the the most workingclass parts of of the state main so it's it's not like these some of these like like red rose dreams where like if you run on populism it kumble completely in verse that the class logic of america the it was similar broad regional pattern but just like more popular than like hillary clinton's like woke liberalism was just like we're going to have more health care for people and that's i think not what you need to do to win in virginia it is what you need to do to win in manian and of course because politics is hard for democrats to win in like michigan they need to both appeal to.

"Symbolic affirmation that also leads to complacency and to me like a really telling thing in this regard is how democrats won it i mean virginia was sort of the the biggest deal but they also picked up these two state house of representatives seats at georgia in district's that they hadn't contested the last time around and that were close in 2016 but but hillary clinton narrowly lost thumb and democrats won both of those and i think pretty clearly that's just because the turnout drew i mean the turnout was low right of both sides not that many democrats voted and not that many republicans voted but what whoever that hardcore was who wanted to go vote in an offyear election in a special election race four georgia house of representatives which is jeremy like there were no stakes at all the republicans have huge majorities in those races but it was just more democrats did it because there are more democrats out there being like i wanna find a way to stick it to donald trump than there are republicans who are out there being like i want to find a way to to support my man and i dunno i mean that's going to be a problem for every down ballot republican particularly because trump is unpopular right if trump's start soaring maybe of them will have this huge sense of vindication but right now it's like you have the people who are into trump and like they're into trump and they feel okay then you have people who may be don't like some democratic policy ideas but they are also not that into trump and it's it's hard to win that way and that's the democrats found when obama was in office and i think i think we are suddenly going to find that everything democrats do tactically starts looking really good because trump is president i mean this is not an immutable look love politics all right like literally.

"Powerful republican gerrymander and it's hard to beat incumbents yeah exactly but what ended up happening is that not only were the closely contested races tipping in democrats favour but a bunch of races that weren't even on anybody's radar also flipped to democrats and and longtime incumbents were knocked off so you had um a member of the democratic socialists of america who was running as a democrat and he be one of the republican leaders in the chamber and that was just like a total shocker you have other races that were more known to be contested but we're still viewed as reaches for democrats which they also won they basically one sort of everywhere based on sort of the strength of the democratic brand a generally there was one type of candidate that one dan ballot it was it was just sort of every type so actually have a question about this i all i have after tuesday in it is questions i'm hoping the uk's concert some of them out for me but i've heard two different narratives about the house of delegates races i've heard you know at democrats and progressive say see this is why even if you think the racist hopeless you just have to have some one because in a strong enough wave election no matter who you have as long as there is the democrat someone's gonna vote for them and they have a chance i've also heard the narrative that these house of delegates races saved ralph nor them because people were super excited about voting for their house of delegates candidates and that that you know carried north them to a bigger margin of victory than his otherwise somewhat uninspiring candidacy would have had in those kind of see mutually exclusive to me like i ther the house of delegates candidates are warm bodies or they're the ones that are really driving democratic enthusiasm and i'm wondering what you guys think as to which of these is true well i definitely don't think they saved north them he won by almost nine points which is pretty convincing win i think it's more it makes more sense to think that both aren't coming from the larger trend which we did observe which is that democrats were enthusiastic and willing to turn out and um and i think one interesting thing about these have of delegate races in particular is that um.
