"I was so weak that I collapsed and was taken to a very small country hospital. They packed my head and is because my fever was over a hundred six. But the highlight of the day was when this very young woman doctor came in with several other doctors, and she told MC proudly that she figured out just. Exactly what was wrong with me. I mean, after all these years I'd seen so many doctors, no doctor had a clue. I had given her my history so I was on the edge of my bed. So excited that I was finally gonna know what was wrong. And then she said with full assurance. Well, you have tertiary syphilis. Well, I looked at my husband. He legit may and I knew all about syphilis. 'cause I studied it in high school like everybody did, I think, and I laughed, and I told her for one thing that I just gotten married and I never had had sex before a month ago so it couldn't be tertiary syphilis. And with that, she looked around at the other team of doctors there, and they said, you need to see this group of doctors in Houston, and they'll surely figure this out. So that's where I was at age twenty three. I'd had many bizarre diagnoses by the way in that was one of the most, but I was in the dark. I was still thinking the medical world had all the answers, and I was without a clue as to the real reason why I was so sick and weak and that it took every bit of strength that I could muster to lift my hands to my mouth. I. I literally willed myself to function. So I was very excited at this time because I was going to have exploratory surgery. Literally, I felt like I was going to a party or maybe even to my own wedding. I was so excited because I had eleven of the best doctors from the Houston medical center on my case, and I knew for sure they were going to figure out what was wrong with me and fix it. That was my perspective. So after surgery, mine internist walked in and said, merrily. I'm really sorry. You're never gonna be able to have children. You have extensive into matriarch in Demitrio sus, you need to go on dialysis and you will need to have a kidney transplant. Well, I mean, I don't know what happened to me miraculously instead of being filled with fear this very small, still voice of truth rose up. And and it was awakened in me and I looked at him and I said with so much respect because I, I literally idolize the doctor, I said, with respect, I'm just so glad that you are not God. What if in ten, five or even a couple years, there is a medical discovery that I would need a transplant. I can't be subject to the limitations of what the medical world has to offer me at this point in time. I don't wanna lose a kidney. I know there's another way while I felt it in my heart, a deep comb, no fear or doubt. Just an absolute trust in God and that I would. No, I knew I was going to have a baby and I would get well. I literally had a shift in consciousness that gave me confidence encourage and I didn't look back. So I am sure my doctor thought I was out of my mind or maybe hallucinating on the morphine that I was on for paying. But the single event changed the course of my life. I was at a crossroad of fork in the road was I going to make a decision based on fear because of a bleak medical prognosis given to me by top human experts that I trusted and respected, or was I gonna go down a load, restless traveled. Well. Soon after I got the hospital, I continued on the medication and I was already on and I was madly researching and looking for answers. Anything outside of medicine was completely off my radar. It was just some pill I needed to find, but my condition continued to deteriorate and in the midst of that on my gosh, my husband and I bought a brand new condominium, I can still smell the building materials and then another czar thing on a return routine checkup with my gynecologist who had actually been on the team of eleven doctors..

"The four officers have been nate quote the use of excessive force caused the passenger to hit his face on an arm rest resulting in a concussion a broken nose and the loss of two teeth so in a statement dow's attorney thomas demitrio said is unfortunate the contents of this to city aviation employees has resulted in their losing their jobs there is a lesson to be learnt here for police officers at all levels cannot state something that is clearly contrary to video viewed by the world but for the video these fat reports stating that only minimal force was used what have been unnoticed now the incident began remember gained agents as volunteers to give up their seeds for you for a united crew member that needed to meet another flight dalat his wife initially agreed to take a later flight a fellow passenger told cnn for the couple of change their minds wonderland the next fight will leave until the following day because he had patients and i get the united an offer compensation to anyone willing to give up their seats well no nobody took the bait so then gel apparently was chosen at random will not enough people volunteered so in a video shot by japan's of just behind that after he repeatedly truce to get off the flight telling officers that he's a physician and must work in the morning so i joy and force cummings told cnn the dow was not belligerent and got only mildly upset our second officer arrived in demand to leave the plane they said doubt never raised his voice now i don't understand it because the video i saw he was jali but then again i understand he's mad but i thought that he was yelling and fleming arms that's what i saw i must i'm not seen the right video so the officer was poised to leave israel reports the officer said dow was swinging is arms at his fist bailed as they tried to pull them from a seeds united conceded that the flight was neither overbooked or over so well then what their heads at all this happen but they only selfless announce it would no longer overbooked flights in an attempt to ensure ticket holding customers will never be booted off flights which thank you you don't have stupid that is you buy a flight and you pay for flight only four of them to sell their flight twice a delta said would offer volunteers of the ten thousand dollars to give up their seats on overbooked flights oh man that can be your job vocal flight heck of.

"I don't know of other you know because i know the feeling of these drug yeah and maybe there's nothing better to give someone for actual physical pain right but it doesn't like oh what are you gonna do they're gonna stop taking them considering a back to feeling pain i'm like no no no you don't keep taking them because of the pain right he that euphoria is really gave it because the pain beano continue take him his arm man i'm just i'm telling you must never tries there unseen on your face actually it's almost like your longing the drugs and at the same time like totally afraid of them uh i'm i'm terrified yeah yeah i'm just terrifies the idea my kids have redoing yeah i mean that's the things so i think that you know one possibility is that we need better pain medication another possibility is that um we need better pain solutions so that that's great because at that vow with a maybe that would help the the final of people getting towards the drug trade if you're saying like right they started of very innocently need us meaning something for the pain like i did and then they were put on this and then they loved it and then they can stop using a wry if you don't put him on vat for the pain right away you put him or something else will never try in the first place right so what what what are some because you you had them very interesting research on a couple non opioid options right i mean there's a lot of things out there there's an nerve blacks fluid injections steroid injections joint injections on the one that i struck me as most interesting is actually the radio frequency ablation who i knew a girl who did this for and demitrio says and i mean i'm i i will now recommend any of these you should talk to your doctor yet this was this runs is not a medical care.

"You know at all of those hormone systems the kids balance in those areas as always going to help balance seer estrogen and progesterone got it always over here taking notes i include all those points in the show notes as well but i think that's really helpful to have like kind of practical tips people can take and i'm curious to um i didn't have this on our questions hopefully it's okay to throw this at you but you also help women in menopause and perry menopause is it a similar approach for them i'm since you are still supporting those hormones or their differences when you get to the perryman pas a menopause stage so any female hormone issues you have you know in your 2030 is our 40s are going to make menopause worse so if you don't letsie have pc lesson we just kind of you know let it run rampant when a really got on top of it or he had demitrio says so you had adrenal fatigue in in ah didn't quite get on top of helping your cortisol balance get and check whenever we have any of those things leading into menopause when those female hormones start to decline it's gonna be much harder for us because we're going to feel that drop much more significantly an site feel like the forty is are the time to fix it so the twenty is where young in in indestructible lesson trying to say we put ourselves through a lot right we stay up to lay were maybe working on her career or a a college degree route having fun and we can't release necessarily see how menopause may be for us and then our thirty is often were raising children a maybe our careers really picked up and were really taking care of everyone and everything and not ourselves and then our 40s hit and hopefully by that point careers a little more stable may be kids are a little bit bigger man i had my kids late so minor i'm fortytwo with very little children um.

"Wants to get the training you're talking about that is actually worked in specific cases uh yes i'm all for one thing when um when we were doing our experience autism training recently a researcher did live investigation uh into the effectiveness and she was able to measure the progress of police were making their understanding while we were doing the training um but we have we've also had other successes uh where um some lapd officers that i helped train uh were called to a free way accident where men with autism had a broken neck and they went and got his mother and brought her down so she could calm him down and help communicate with him i wanna bring in another guest garland demitrio is a disability advocate she has a son with autism and she was a police officer in michigan caroline thanks so much for joining us thank you for having me on jack do you think that you got a head on this because you knew what autism was as opposed to your fellow officers uh in starting this organization in other words do you need to have a stake in the issue before you're gonna do anything about the issue i think i don't think so they because i think we all have a stake in that hotel honda as my colleague john carley has pointed out and mr prescott and emily this is about us as a society on hall an assault for a social justice issue um my frame of reference came as having a brother with epilepsy who had several akon encounters with police that i saw growing up as a child uh from that frame i didn't like the police and i thought that they treated him very badly uh within and he was arrested and jailed uh because they couldn't identify that he was still in a seizure and walking around um and this is my brother had his own business um he was a part of this community uh in so at that point that was before our son was even border or diagnosed show this was something that was in the back of my mind um even from.
