"You know i find out that. Her prescriptions weren't renewed his Old very old wonder woman 'cause she's eighty and she does her cat and she nets a sweater of truth from the lasso truth and because it turns out her prescription wasn't renewed because her hmo does not cover name brand prescriptions so she had to be prescribed generic that's their thing and dickerson simpson's no we can't go to press with that because the competition will distress and they say oh no competition and there's this big dope and it's got a hammer and his she'll and claws and then you get into the building site because then they plug in the dc stuff the rooms. So it has superman powers and batman powers and akron powers even had a human torch from the competition so that was really cool. But of course the dc people are defeated until wonder woman shows up and beats up the competition singlehandedly. And that's how you know it's fantasy was supposed to be some other Comic book company that had other heroes with other powers. That seem somewhat familiar. Well yes but. But then the dc hit all the all the dc superhero powers including swamps stain which they elevated to an alias. Character ellen. More hey good for him. Any character from the nineties that had a big controversial run. It is not really even john. Constantine gets name checks here and there so so that was fun that was that. Oh storrow quick. Quick watched it sir Everyone makes it out in. The shade is the end. I thought of the Black and white thing. Yes yeah white team which was weighed which is like it was like. Oh the again. It's edison really just like showing me my greatest fears. I live every day like oh. My mom had a hard time when i was born because her father left. Yes i know it's been mentioned. You know you expect me to believe. My mom doesn't love me because of that. I guess you know honestly who knows what these kids very email. So maybe sir. My mother doesn't live things but i don't. I don't feel from the internet. That's what we're supposed to get from that. i like. They did save a dragon solder at the end and now now is she getting back to being able probably but you know people can change you know the shade. Yeah that's the thing it's like at a certain point. There's a certain level that people really don't feel comfortable with you. Know and i think that is the idea here is that you know as as as George clooney says at the end from from dusk till dawn. I may be an awful human being. But i'm not an sme an awful being you know. It's it's the idea that you know. I'm not gonna take you here. Because that would be the worst thing i could do. I understand that you know so you need to go and live a life. 'cause i'm not that also of human beings and along those lines you know who has a similar speech today. This week Philip new speed demon in captain. America united states captain america captain's america as is pointed out. Because if you do the grammar check in this which i always love all the. We have a bunch of concentrating. If you don't have issues guys like a big football player kept in america. It was a captain american. Suit here somewhere. i guess. He's the captain. America of wall street or something with a free case. Yeah there's there's there's all kinds of captain america's here. There's not a beer captain america. Yeah not ready. This one actually looks a lot like Danny cage there's one next next to wall street. Kerr who looks like danny kaye. Who is the captain. America of the future Nazis freaking frigging adolf hitler. He's just like the worst super villain outta hatemonger. Yeah yes all counties. The worst personality. Andy is very bad skis because he always gets punched by captain america but Yeah but in. This speed makes support like dude. I did not willingly join up with nazis. I may be an awful human being. But you know. World dominance nazis my back. I run fast and takes me. That's what a do a normal wheelhouse. I'm cooperating which is an interesting aspect about the vigilante superhero dynamic. Because it always. Is that idea of sure. We're going to we're role within the super villain this week. 'cause it helps story. It helps prevent us from not completing our mission and You know anything with this one is that she does have an america. Themed mask if you notice that other watchdogs had the confederate themed mask and it does highlight that thing too. Many people are using that old red white and blue as a hate symbol lately. And that's the problem you know it's not supposed to be but it sometimes is that that's the problem. But still only get the all the captainsamerica get to go to the smithsonian you know have all their shields there so now none of them have shields so i would think those are replicas. 'cause yeah everyone turned in their shield including steve on my. I don't think so one probably just or they just made new ones for everybody. Except for steve because his brain magical but.

"I remember. At that time there was a thing called crashing. Gum in the freshness gum. the gum. That went squirt right right. I remember that had a joke. Any birth control gum. That would keep you from doing his court. So that would my the birth control gum. The gum will let you squirt. That's you know for a young guy that was just on the fringe of show business. That was not a bad i joke. Well let's bet did ever made it to one of your stages. I well it probably better that it didn't but i just think for a young guy just going to Initial comedy classes. That's not a bad start. Obviously you had a talent for writing. I know that the later in this interview that will come up as being an important partner career but so comedy writing and then going to this comedy class with danny more kind of gave you your start.

Woke Crowd Cries Racism After 'Slave Play' Tony Awards Snub

"For a theater geek like me like me. Last night was the like the super bowl because it was the tony awards. I've got a friend in moulin rouge actually a few friends in moulin rouge and moulin rouge the musical. The huge winner. I was really really excited for danny burstein. Zeya a new york actor. He had just a horrific year. he's one of the stars of moulin rouge on broadway. And he's been a broadway actor for and he and his wife. Rebecca luker a real beloved couple rebecca. His wife got ls and both of them got cove head and she died last december. This past december. So he's back on stage with moulin rouge. He won his first. Tony award very gracious speech. And there's a huge controversy about the play side not the musical side you got you got musicals and you got you got plays right and the play that was expected to clean up at. The tonys was a play called slave plane. I know people who saw it and said it was a incoherent mess. It's just. I don't even know what it's about something about. It's all woke stuff about race. It's race and sexuality and you know a lot of people. I know roy just didn't like it at all but you know the woke crowd of new york being the wo- crowd it was nominated for. I think i think twelve tony awards. It was completely shut out. It didn't win a single tony so now of course come the accusations that the tony select selection committee is racist. Because everything's got to be racist. Everything is a lack of diversity. Everything about And of course. New york's broadway community is about the most diverse community in the world. But it's not enough for the woke crowd

Exploring The Murder of Yvonne Lane: Reaching Out to Joe Wilkes

"It seemed like the best way to get to the bottom of what was going on was to finally speak to the man whose testimony landed david in prison for life. It was time to reach out to joe wilkes to be clear. I personally have not spoken to joe as you know the private investigators from proclaim justice advised me to let them do all the interviews during their preliminary investigation. Anything i may say or ask. A witness could taint their statements for the court. So john hardin wrote joe informing him of who he and danny wexler are and what they're doing reinvestigating the murder to find the truth of what happened now for i've seen between sue and joe hearing all the interviews. He's done with sue and other media. I did not think that joe would be too happy to hear from anyone plus if you remember even though he told police that he killed you on by cooperating and telling the police that david had hired him. He got a lesser sentence than david. Thirty years with the possibility of parole. Joe has already done twenty two years so he could be looking at freedom in just eight years. I figured he would have no interest in bringing all of this up again. I thought he would just wanna finish out his time and move on without any of the mass that happens every time he speaks to someone about this case and when i say mess i mean all of his conflicting statements in fact i figured he would actually send them a nasty message back telling them to fuck off or something if he even responded. But that didn't happen. Joe wrote back eager to talk and tell his story so the guys worked setting up a legal visit which proved to be next to impossible in ohio to get done in a timely manner and so we waited and waited. But in the meantime we couldn't wait time so we tracked down some other key witnesses. I

Joe Biden Is Losing Political Capital Every Day

"At an Oscar ceremony. I get it. I'm not suggesting, you know we should take a victory lap. Crack the champagne. Get on the medal stand. I know it's a small thing. I understand that. But I'm not going to come on the air all day and be Danny Downer and act like the whole world is collapsing every single minute when we are starting to rack up some political victories here and there. You've seen Gavin Newsom in California struggle. He's how to spend upwards of $75 million in this California recall election. He's fending off a group of Republican challengers who have a real chance. Are they going to win? I don't know, folks. I have no idea what's going to happen, but the elections coming up and I hope, our KBC KSFO and our other California affiliates, I hope you're all voting. We got a real shot here and I would make the case to you. Yes, Obviously we want to win that election. But I would make a shot you we've already racked up some small victories. Folks listen. The money is not replaceable. Gavin Newsom has had to spend tens of millions of dollars on an election that should never have happened. Never have happened. That money is gone. It's been consumed. It's been pumped into T V ads that have already played. It's not coming back. It's not an unlimited pool of money. There's not that's now money that can't go to other places in California and around the country. Is that a huge win? No, just like Chipman. Is that the biggest win ever in the history possible, but it's a good one. I'd argue that we are already starting to rack up wins because Joe Biden's political capital, his political bank account, what we think he has is even less than he actually has. The Murder Case of Yvonne Layne: Searching for the Star Witnesses

"At this point. I've been in touch with david thorne for nearly two years. David has been in prison for twenty two years for allegedly murdering his ex girlfriend yvonne lane on march thirty first nineteen ninety nine since then david has adamantly proclaimed his innocence and the bizarre murder case and conviction has been featured on multiple news tv e programs and so for the past two years. I have been consumed like dwayne poelman. Warned would happen and so i decided to finally enlist the help of professional private investigators. John harden danny wexler and jason baldwin from the west memphis three and his organization proclaimed justice so back on the ground in ohio. We continued our search for chris. Campbell remember john. And danny thought rose and chris were the most key people in this entire investigation chris and his girlfriend rose. Were the star witnesses at trial. Twenty-three-year-old rose an twenty one year old. Chris both testified at trial. They said they saw joe at the carnation mall around closing. They said he told them he was in town for a job and they said that job was to kill a girl. The card joe allegedly wrote his phone number on for. Chris was presented at trial to prove that joe was there with them the native the murder and at this point. We don't really question that they were all there together but what happened while they were there is what we wonder about by trial three months after the murder some details of what they remembered changed from what they'd set in their initial statements and then a bit more change between those statements. The time they took the stand six months after that rose initially said joe was in white pants and a white track jacket by trial. The pants were black. Rose also said that. The knife that joe showed them was definitely not a pocket knife. She said it was an eight inch knife in a sheath by trial it was a pocket knife. We tried to find rose on our first trip because we had many questions about her statement. We wanted to know why it changed and also about something. She told police in her tape statement. Because i'm scared for my life. Because chris campbell for me if i said anything he met me. And that's why i've been scared. His oliver nagai as race. People do things when they're scared. Like sometimes people lie and we wondered. was it possible. She lied

Tracking Growth Marketing in 2021

"Gonna be talking about growth marketing day. All kinds of really important subjects obviously was fintech as focused jonathan. You're up here but you're muted. Because twitter likes to annoy people that way. John are you there i am. Hello danny how are you good. We're getting people through this tunnel one next. We're going to get marianne set up here in just a second but in the meantime i'm going to introduce our speaker today. So jonathan metric is the chief growth officer at portage ventures or advises a global portfolio with companies including wealth simple in canada albert in the us and clark in germany previously. He was the chief marketing officer of policy. Genius when the largest intertek marketplace's leading a division of forty plus growth marketers in scaling revenue. Kennex over three years jonathan. Welcome thank you thank you very much. It's great to be here and excited to be on this new pop pharmacist by twitter spaces. Hang out so. I'm excited to see kind of how this goes and great to chat with you to today but growth and fintech absolutely. Well i will say it's gone from alpha to beta at this point. It was pretty janke the first few times we did this. Maybe two three months ago. And i think the android app is now working at doesn't crash every five minutes. Good started when you think about growth and twenty twenty one i i to me growth has been the uber story of the entire year in every company is growing. The marketing channels are getting congested. Cat costs are going up on almost every pay channel. It's more competitive than ever on organic. What are you thinking about these days when it comes to growth in two thousand twenty one. Yeah i mean. I think you you hit the nail on the head there right and i think you know if we dial it back a little bit to the beginning of cova. I think there was a bit of a pause on you. Know is the sky falling. Are we going to be growing all right. And i think you know a couple of months after that in twenty twenty we saw immediate rebound with folks just kind of shifting attention to online direct ways of buying products that weren't necessarily in person direct to consumer. And you know. I think growth really road that way right and when i think of gross you know i think it's more around folks who are looking at driving revenue for their business and that can involve marketing can involve product and Components performance marketing.

Number of Americans in Afghanistan to Be Rescued Unclear

"What's the minimum number about which we are certain that are there and have not been able to get out is at one hundred is at five hundred. Is it five thousand. Do they have any minimum number. No no number at all. At least from what i saw. They resisted providing specific number which is incredible now. Their argument is okay. When people come into afghanistan they're encouraged to register with the embassy. Some do some don't and then some don't d- register when they leave the country. I understand but we should at least have some range of an estimate about how many we have contact with you right exactly. How many have contacted you. Because you gotta let now. My question is if people forgotten danny pearl. Have they forgotten the woman journalist in syria. They forgotten the beirut's cia station cheap. These are fanatics. it's not like we're giving the pirates. They're they're the absolute worst people in the world and we're abandoning americans to it. It's mind boggling. And by the way. The taliban has american hostages right now to me. I don't understand. I don't understand why if we're gonna make this humiliating surrender agreement. Why didn't even include getting some hostages back that we know they have the final thing. I mean. the other thing i'd say is if the white house continues to make this argument that will don't worry about the collapse of position afghanistan leaving behind american citizens the fact that we don't have the ability to over the horizon counter-terrorism there it's all about china and the pacific our past actions and our reputation in a in a different theater doesn't matter in terms of our ability to deter china. Okay well if you accept that argument then everything. Hinges on the balance of power in the indo pacific vis-a-vis china and that balance of power is getting worse in large part because the biden defense department is making it worse and it's budget is abysmal. And yesterday we voted on a five trillion dollar bill that takes us to the lowest level of defense. Spending is a function of gdp in eighty years. So their priorities which are all out of whack. Which hinge entirely on passing a bernie sanders progressive budget while decimating defense that is weakening our position vis-a-vis china

"Today we're gonna be exploring stepping into the unknown head to talk about it. I am joined by debbie. Millman that hosted one of our first podcasts. Ever or one of the first time ever. Hi debbie hang lease. Great ac- air. It's great to see you If you haven't tuned in before debbie's cast is called design matters. And i have been listening while i go on runs and Really enjoy your conversation. Thank you thank you so much. We'll to frame this talk Why don't we start by talking. About how stepping into the unknown applies in your own life in in your own career. Well i was really influenced. Several years ago. I interviewed the great writer danny shapiro and we were talking after the interview. She came into my office at the school of visual arts and saw that i had stacked on my task. Three books had just come out a barrel confidence. I i really had felt at the time. That confidence is by holy grail. But this is what. I was looking for to find my whole life if i could find the confidence to step into any without fear that that would be like my life likely be made and she and i started talking about that and she said oh i think. Confidence is really overrated. What what like ed explodes. And i pressed her for more information. And she said that she felt the confidence overrated that most people that just head oodles oodles of confidence were jerky thought was more important than confidence was actually courage and that courage to step into that unknown was was far more important to being able to reach any kind of call in so it set me on a pass of a research to really find our What confidence actually meant. What does it mean to have. What have you have you get confidence. You're not good with supermarket in like polls confidence shelves

"Don't know how you did it years so i don't really mind the criticism but my point is we have enough of that right now in our culture where it's just name calling and you're stupid. No you're stupid. And the access is so easy. Now right so i actually interact with people who come to us at scoops with danny mac dot com so i wanna have mailbags for lack of a better term. We'll think of a title for it. But i want people to email me questions or even email me something that. They thought that i'm totally wrong about and express it in a civil hopefully intelligent way. Give me something to think about. And then i'll respond so we're going to do that regularly as well. People will have access to me. I just think it should be in a way where it's it's it's civil its intelligent. It's reasonable you can say whatever you want but there's no need to kind of act like the usual twitter idiot or whatever right you know just put some thought into it and we'll have a really good exchange curious about something you said earlier. You said you know you've written thousands of column so and i'm sure you've thought about it. You probably been asked about it. Is there the one column that you say. I wish i could take it back. Well that's a good one. I'd have to think about that. I don't know that it was one column as much as it's like we're honestly it's probably a lotta columns in where i look back on it now and i thought i was. I was too hard on someone piled on. It's okay to criticize scrutinize analyze. But don't get personal. And i thought i thought i did that. For example with mike metheny a little bit. You know being honest The other thing okay. You asked me one. That i would take back. And it's not one column but it's a series of columns not written one day after another but just written over a specific time..

"Dear mother his dear mother was upset. She was like crying. And i said i actually for one of the few times by legitimately felt guilty. I'm like i can't do that. I was in the calm down at one time. You and i were out okay. And we're having a few adult beverages. No i know you find that shocking. And we got into an argument. A friendly argument. Yeah and i said you are so full of it. I said you're wrong about that and we're having fun. It was fun argument totally. And you get on your phone. This is when were like bob. Not blueberry what do they blackberries. Right blueberry clash you gotta you said the hell with it. You're going in the calm down section. Starting right i don't do it. I said my family's going to go wild over this that it and you edited it right there and i was in the calm down section the next word have no no doubt about it and look i feel like i should back fill a little bit for people who don't remember loved it. I thought it was hilarious. People don't remember it who or who don't know it because maybe they're young. Never i just for something fun and the bits which is a big. You know a big collection notes. Opinions jets excerpts from out of town all this stuff little gossip thrown in. You know little little again hard hit hard opinions stingers here and there. But i also wanted to have like different devices in the column and so i had a thing each week and it was really tongue in cheek. It wasn't malice. It was like the following people. Please call me. And i tell you that i got more reaction from that thing than any other thing in the bits. Is it coming back. it's coming back. You better believe it off. "Don't know, you know, you're sometimes played on T kind of like unaware child but you you know, you're precocious you were smart like you knew what was going on. I watched you at those tables like it's like oh and you you're you're sharp kid. So how does that feel? Like, I don't know. It's just like for me it's like, you know, my mom once walked in on me jerking off and I was like and no one knew about it until now but it was like dead. I can only imagine like having to live that out on T. But you were you able to put the professionalism and the storytelling about and have a sense of humor even at that time. Oh, yeah, I and I think that's what helped is knowing that the jokes were good. Yeah, knowing that we were doing something real I knew that I was going to have to go back to regular school. Now. What I didn't realize is to this day is sometimes I'm in an airport or in a public space and somebody comes up to me like you're that guy and then the next thing you know, they start doing like jacking off hand gestures in the middle of a public place and like you're that guy and I'm like, well, I'm not sure but I know Danny and I all the time to put your hands down quick there's kids present. We like also think like it's funny like there's one episode were so funny and even if like the kids were going to you know, it's coming like they're going to tell you there has to be in the back of their head this ocean. It's not so that's not just me off. You know, like there had to have been as much as somebody would tease you in their brain. They're going okay. So this is actually not weird that I am getting erections or jerking off, So that's one of the things about the show that helped is that we were talking about so many real issues that.

Yeah dead and the Queen's Gambit Danny. I finished the Queen's Gambit on Netflix. I'm in the middle of that. Don't tell me what's going to tell you but while I highly recommend that to all the listeners, I I've watched this week Thursday. Should it's amazing. I've watched I think three episodes so I still have some yo that girl is a modern-day Audrey Hepburn. You can't take your eyes off her. She just has this girl. She is riveting isn't riveting. It's like she's the one of those watchable people I've ever seen on screen. It's like just and and he agrees that movie just like cuz it's not leader. She's yeah, it's really odd that series. I mean, well Daddy, what about you? What have you been watching? I have not been watching anything. I can truly recommend, but I'm not any like I feel nervous recommending this but like I really only nerd alive and I am a deep deep nerd who has never said I never saw a moment of Doctor Who ever like I never watched an episode, you know, and all my nerd friends would be talking about things and I just pretend to know and so I saw that it came up on a trio Max and I started watching that and I it's dead. Can't be I'm not even going to but there's it's it's interesting. So that's why I was watching. I've never seen it either. Yeah, I've seen another so this is not like a glowing recommendation for it, So we're not recommending that one but I think that you've been watching but you're not necessarily I will say is I'm going to keep watching it for weeks cuz there's a lot of them. So I'm hooked up but I don't want anybody to judge me if you watch this and don't like it. What the hell is wrong with the adding. That's really this is like that's why I'm pausing this recommendation here. Okay. And this has been really like so special for us. Yes it really I can't thank you enough. I mean this is just so exciting for me my pleasure and I was it was great fun. Yeah, we I love doing thank you so much and we're going to put all the information about that about your new album. "So do this for things that have been on Cape if I'm been watching something on Netflix from watching show for the first time. I'll go closed caption I. think it's a bad move actually. Anyone, who's GonNa Start Game of thrones. You're welcome. Well, that would be pretty good move because in it you could figure out who's who exactly yeah. I can see that but I find that way too distracting I. I'm not there to to read the words. I'm there to to listen as much as I can, and I'd like to take in all the action I can well, no insane you have to just be locked in like you don't have to like open your eyes, real wide boy. It's like when someone says like if there's an instant replay on, it's what watch watches. Peel my eyes real wide I'm watching. You know it's weird and you don't have kids yet. I have kids. Four of them and When I go to their games sometimes I'll look down at my phone. I'm dead serious about this and I don't know if there's any parent that does this or catches themselves doing this. But we all have like you know can rewind on your on your TV as I'm watching my kids game and I, feel like I missed a pass or a goal or something that happened. I look up into the live action and I think there's a replay like a rewind. I catch myself doing that lies weird. We have we have evolved now to the point where we expect dvr to be a part of totally life I'm I'm trying to dvr live. Life but you're embarrassed to admit it. No, it only happens. It's sporting events at my kids games like Oh man that was nice play by Johnny but I missed PA- person walked in front wait a minute that's gone. I can't see ever again I missed it it's gone. Can't do it. CAN'T DVR it. Real Life Dvr should be a thing. Maybe you know maybe you should bring a scoops camera crew out there and shoot the game, and then they can just rewind it for let's let's go back to the tape here and just show some of the young Mclaughlin. Out. That's it. I? I'd be banned. How about this this is my kids games with a hat on. because. It's not like I'm trying to go incognito care I'm especially when it says scoops at Danny Mac on the hat correct as little advertising in might get next. On the back I might put that a little stitching on the back I go away from the parents for the most part and I just watch. I don't really clap I. "That you think I feel I'm going to be walking out of here a long time. Okay, Danny I have to bring this up because I'm dying to talk about class action park wage. Oh my God, you're laughing about things the bill. Did you watch it? I haven't watched it. No, I've only read about it. I've read there. There's an article about it, Esquire GQ. You might need to jump in here as a fellow Jersey Boy at some point. So damn you've been there. You've been yes, he works at me, Yeah. Let me just say this bill. So I watched this I text Danny immediately time like, please tell me you went to this water park. I need I need you to tell the story of what you text me back because I was crying laughing I go there and it was like the best thing that ever happened in May because I didn't have to go on a ton of the rides. But first thing we do so there was sort of the basically there was this area of the part that was just sort of the Alpine Slide before he got to the water park. And as far as we were concerned and this is before like we'd like no one. I don't think no one had died at this point at the park, but there were a lot of rumors about On it like this is just all a myth. Like I was all very logical. I was not like a fighting Jersey kid. I wasn't like, you know where my friends when one of them was but then and how how old are you by the way? I I think we're fifteen. Maybe I I definitely wasn't perfect. Yeah, one of the guys was seventeen that his license but that was said he took us off and it was his first time too. But like I said I get on the Alpine Slide, which is basically like the slug you hold onto down like a concrete like half pipe and they go. Yeah, you gotta be careful to come out Thursday. If you if you fly out of this thing. I for me, I thought like this is not even possible but I was are devil. So I'm going at a not like a crazy thing. I hit like the said she can turn out of my thing for my arms like like and it was like like just the worst fucking road rash. I got bandages and it was fine. But as a result, it was like a perfect excuse not to go on the truly Death Rides like some of those slides that were like awful early designed by somebody working out issues. No one with engineering background and one person with an engineering but like I was not like I did not at this point. It didn't have a lot more than it had a couple of years later. But for me at this point, I was just like I was like exciting cuz I wanted to go on rice and I was not psyched at home horrible..

"I've really like show your good work on that call everybody and then I think somebody of mine and I talk with a mic off. And and but I really appreciate work. That's really well done. Right and in another life that would have been my aspiration. All right to be a to be a comedic either writer or actor but probably right or first right I am. I am so enamored of sitcom people if I when she Virginia when you sent me the script signed by Danny it really blew me away. Right because that meant the world a month. It it blows my mind how you know a secret and nowadays right? Like sitcoms don't necessarily have to be and I feel like normally are kind of set the tone for the ability to a certain like real world situations for sure in the sitcoms right where it's like, okay. Yeah. This is a comedy but we're not going to ignore what's happening in the world. Yeah, we can go and how real life shit. That's right. You know what I'm saying? And you guys use such a great job of that. I always wondered why and this is my question for you Danny like a lot of the early seasons of Modern Family kind of centered around ties infatuation. Yeah or his it was more like he she made him nervous, but why we let it go go away because I think he's dead. Are feeling what civilian life those moments with Sophia, but if you dug in anymore, it was creepy. "Yeah I'm probably going to watch that game. which probably makes me hypocrite for all the times were mad at the NFL? So I think people still have an interest but in terms of like supporting it or if it would be a fascinating study of even if we had one game like. Let's say next year. Eight Saint Louis. You're hosting yes that's classic and it's going to be the bears and chiefs at the Dome and come on down now with bears fans its use fan show probably bad example. Yes but Saint Louis fans if you had a team. I think it'd be tough to get everybody back. I remember when the cardinals left. I used to go to those games on Sundays. And I think they there was like some exhibitions between the cardinals. If memory serves correct and the rams and I remember member going down to Bush stadium and watching those because it was football. I didn't understand I was a young kid. I mean I didn't understand the business side of it like I do now and it just makes me sick to my stomach like my wife. My kids love watching the NFL. My oldest does in particular. And she's like you need to take into a chief's game or something I said I'm not spending a dime on the NFL NFL. I'm not doing it if somebody would give me tickets. I would do it and they're going to have to pay for my parking and I'm dead serious and that's that's the mindset I'm talking about. I think a lot of people would say I'm not gonNA give him a dollar now going down there so even if there's a portion that says God I really Miss Football I really want to have it back and hey they gave us a charter. Let's make this work. We don't WANNA look bad in there is again. I just don't think there's enough that would sell it out. I don't think it would be a runaway hit so that time has passed and the big big winners for the blues were big winners and some people who were on the fence about hockey had kind of disposable income and maybe decided to get into that and then the Milan I think as a league. You GonNa take a while but I think at some point and maybe in our lifetime maybe it's in thirty years that the MLS their stock is higher than the NFL because of the injuries and lawsuits and all I definitely think participation in in the sport of football I don't think I know the numbers way down. We down for sure. It's not to say hey that you wouldn't have enough people to that. Played it or had interest in it that you're always going to have that But to the to the point that all these kids are on Saint Louis and other cities cities are playing soccer and if the competition gets better at the MLS level which it is and they marketed. Properly here in town which they will and they're gonNA keep it here because they're Saint Louis INS and they care about the market. I think it's got a chance to be huge in this town. I really do because it's a young person sport. It seems like young people gravitate for whatever reason to that sport. You're always going to have the soccer fan. Saint Louis is the soccer capital if you will of the United States so there's that already born inbred soccer fan here but as young people see it and then experience a game. I don't know if you've ever been to a game. It's it's fun. Never been there great. I mean it's A. It's a tailgate the wearing a scarf But I think they're going to be finer in all of this. I think the fact that it's downtown and younger people be attracted I. I think that's a win for the the city so long term. The Rams Story. I think that's a big part of the lawsuit is people just want. The story told properly so it's not just oh Saint Louis you losers you. You couldn't keep a team right and it did have with the big red but I think that's the narrative didn't go to the games too bad saint Louis and people people just want the truth being told I think that's the number one thing we're very parochial and we're very proud to be from here. We kinda take care of our own and I'm not saying every city doesn't have that feeling too. There's a lot that do but when you're in this town in this market we're very proud of where we're at and You know it's tougher an outsider to come into Saint Louis at times it depends on how they embrace it. We seem to know had embrace people. Sometimes I do. I think it's great when out of town people invest in our town. Why wouldn't we help them? But my point is with this is that it becomes a situation. Where if you in it? I've said this from day one if an owner or a group of people that have an interest in this town if they show just a little bit of love you're going to get it back one hundred percent from the fans. I mean hundred times. What they give they're going to get back and that's the way it was? I think one but to your point about crowds thank character had this in one of the notes that he brought. I mean he's all over it but two thousand eleven cardinals are making that run. There was like a Sunday game against the rams the rams out drew the cardinals and the rams are awful in two thousand eleven as you pointed out earlier the the support was there. And that's the thing. I think that really bothers people people. It's like wait a minute now. This team was supported at one point. They had the worst five-year run in the history of the League. And it's still selling out that that kind of stuff needs to be told and I don't think it has been told and that's what frustrates a lot of people. And I think the rams would like to say well the dorm experience a terrible dome was terrible and it was not a great football experience but when you had a really good team nobody noticed. Dick for meal talked about that. First playoff game against the vikings he said known Isaac's going down in straight up and looking at the video board watching himself run on waving the noodles in the crowd. Any said I've never seen anything like it loudest place or seen. The building was just fine when the team was good everywhere and so that narrative narrative also I agree. It wasn't a great football experience so the team had to be good for you to be really excited about going down there and then by the last year and a half the specter factor them. Leaving 'cause a lot of people not to go at all I think that's the main thing is tell the story the way it was told. This is the rams organization with them off on our station. Say we're going to London for you. Know a couple of games here and the people that well. Why are you going to be great for everybody like why is it now? I was told him but it was at least twice the revenue for a game. They would try. Were there so it made financial sense but again just tell the truth and say listen. This is a big win for us and we can do a little more with that money or whatever but it to say this is exciting. Saint Louis was what finally wise. Why is exciting? Here's to find a question in as I mentioned before you're still tied in with some of the folks out in La that were here in Saint Louis and Yeah less so than ever but yeah What do you think the the end result is with this lawsuit and what happens with all the different things that are pending right now with that? I think there'll be a settlement settlement and I didn't think early on. I thought it would just get swatted away in the NFL and their powerful lawyers did the city of Saint Louis. Those lawyers are going to settle. I don't know man I I think they wanna take this thing maybe to the end. Yeah I think it's going to be a couple of years by then we'll be at the UH SDN studios yes we will and the high rise downtown sandwich elite I just feel like it'll like these guys these billionaires they don't end up in court they don't end up to pose. I mean I'd love to see all of that. I just have a feeling that there might be a number. They get to they say all right they made him sweat. They pissed them off and then they finally had to write a big check. If Stan personally right it in the League says standing to settle he'll give you one hundred million then they might leave the low end. Yeah I don't know but I just I do think it'll be a settlement at some point but that's going to be a couple more years I bet. Just drag it out as a fan or you said football you just like whatever I'm I'm over it you know I'm over it. I'm not sad I I do miss the building the thing I loved about the NFL Sports Guy Covering it was the bill. I love the game being Sunday. And it's always talked about and went crazy and on Monday go. What were they thinking? This is the worst call ever and about wins ego. WHO's coming it down? Oh the Ravens. Oh they got zone Joensuu and you really had this build up to who they're going to match up against and we had a lot to really good shows. I think that pre game shows and we break it down a lot of great eight people even like Lovey Smith. When he was on the Mike Martz staff would come on our pre game? Show you know our plus before the game and the NFL. Nobody's available on a game day. Yeah and and he told me he said Martin. I want to get better at doing interviews and being on TV. He knew what he wanted to be was a head coach and part of it is media and we had a a lot of fun. I mean travel. I was thinking to Bryan Burwell. You know five year anniversary of him passing. We did a lot of shows from the road. So there's still a lot of great memories mixed in there. Yeah but but I'd say in my over it. Yeah it doesn't keep me up at night right. I'm not on. Dan was what bidder slightly better. I'm probably ambivalent at this point. I think for the station. It was lost at least a million dollars a year Fox to he's added riot. What I was told is loosely? The number of the impact. Well that's the other thing too. The the the tentacles of an organization city. It's not just a pride in the things that go on with it. In the fact that the avid team but the jobs and the charities that they supported noted that are just gone boom. Snap of a finger audios and even the players that were here that were involved in charities that were making millions of dollars and then in had pet causes not pets but maybe some but had charitable causes they believed so you lose that base every guy. Who's on the team? That's quarterback and he makes five million and he gets involved with your charity or the running gags ten minute he gets involved. You lose that I mean and those are the lawsuit. But that's part of the disappointment. Sure Hey this is fun do we read. We did read some mail I. I'm obsessed with the male. Dan Lewis had a bunch of male common had a bunch of emails. I should have done that but this guy reached out to me and and mail in twitter and I thought I need to do that. One in I did cover a lot of what the questions were that were coming in so yeah I think it's a fascinating story in the fact that there will be told I think in full especially if if the lawsuit is settled. Then at that point you say if you're a reporter you're saying and I also said five minutes ago this the final thing but if you're a reporter you say well why did you settle a lawsuit. What was in it and why you know in you dig it up and then all of a I said when that comes up at least for me I would feel better? I as a Saint Louis Guy if people knew what the hell happened here that would make me feel much which better over the situation still bring football back but at least it brings some of the pride back in. I don't know prides I worked..

It's the idea of the Missouri Introductory Press Conference Mary Mary after noon. Meaning 1205 on the Tiger Network. And while you wait don't forget one eight hundred cat hat. Hawes that I said the press conference was not official until Mike Kelly said that but then in the QNA each reporter is supposed to say their name and their affiliation allegation. That's right so it goes around the room. Smith was air for scoops with Danny kind of the post-dispatch and Kansas City Star. And then this young man said I'm here with scoops with Danny Mac. "Do you throw something at your TV. 'CAUSE you're getting pissed off at something I said or will you please. Lee Say this or address this No not that. Oh you mean like a mad at the announcers. Yeah not that often honestly I I guess I can start watching closer. Is that what you're telling me. Yeah I mean I would appreciate that since you make a living out of this five six. You know what's hard is that. It's not hard okay. I get it we all have jobs and everybody's Some kids nowadays. You have a fun job my most times. We are still a lot of. Bs that goes with. It is a lot of hours. Lot of being away from your family. I always say that they pay pay me and I I bet you feel the same way. 'cause you're on it. What five six and ten? I know you're on nine and ten. Charlie has the opportunity to be there. Eleven twenty right young young attractive late night for eye candy. That's what you get. He's not I candy but anyway that's what he told me. Well that's good. It's hard being away from your kids. I me I always say they pay me to be away from my family. That's the hard part you know. I mean you're sitting there on a ten day road trip in. You're listening to your family and your wife calling calling you up in it. This is not about. Oh poor me. Dan and I look great living and I love what I do but that is the hard part you miss out on a lot and for me. It's the summer months so it's when my kids are at home and when you don't see him I mean there's a lot of regret that goes into that a lot of pissed off the you you know at yourself like is this really worth it might doing you know but the the upside is this what I always wanted to do and everything comes at a sacrifice so Soviet people people always said what would you do and I like asking other people that question. What am I favored answers with? Mike Jones Gamay the TAC. Yeah Rams who were part of a panel one night or Rams Related Event Isaac Bruce and said what would everybody. What was the backup plan? If you didn't play football you WanNa professional and Mike Jones. I was going to be a firefighter. I grew up in Kansas City. My Dad and my uncles everybody. I'm like Oh that's really interesting. When I've been asked that I always say college professor? I'm high school. Yeah and somebody said God. That's really noble. Martin you WANNA help kids. There's no I had this figured out. I'd be off summers. I said I'd have season tickets to the teams basketball football team. Adventure get tenured. Okay and I'd be in front of the cloud work a couple of classes a day awesome awesome and they all worked their tails off. I just in my mind I was GonNa Kinda Mail it in as a professor and I was going to schedule I think college this is what I'd like to get it into I. I I get to give my opinions on this stuff I think college is I look at my fourteen twelve in twins that are ten. I look at what I'm going to be paying if they're not under scholarship of some sort or their out of state. Jesus it's it. It's the biggest farce in this country. It is I mean you have to have a degree I mean I mean honestly if you're GonNa make it not always you have to have a degree but generally speaking you have to have a college diploma and you're thinking okay. That's four or five years of schooling rolling and depending where they're going what fifty to one hundred grand a year. I mean that's what it is. It's going cross cost. I'm like are you kidding me. I mean that there's no way it should be that kind of money. Every everybody should be afforded the opportunity to get that degree and unfortunately for a lot of people. There's not that pisses me off. Dan unplugged on the rising rate of college tuition. No and it's not just because I mean it's what I deal with. It's just I. Everybody should have that opportunity. Because if you if you don't get that degree a lot of times you pigeonholed. I'm not saying here's what I told my kids world needs ditch diggers. Danny look. I'd rather oh you know what I don't know if you feel this way I'd rather tell my kids. Here's the money that you'd be getting to go to college okay. Whatever that that number is I'd rather at at the age of eighteen? Take an I understand college. It's about the experience being away from your parents and balancing a checkbook and your credit cards and doing your laundry and making your own meals and figuring out how how to live I get it. But here's that money and go start a business go really learn. Go dig go figure out how to do these things. Because that's it's really what it's GonNa come down to when you get out of college. How many times do you ever sit there and go? God Yeah Okay. I'm sitting here at the nine. I've got only five minutes to turn this soundbite around with a story. Get it on a prompt or make sure my producer knows and do it that Blah Blah Blah. I mean well yeah I I remember back in junior year at Marquette where you went all yeah. They taught us how to do that. taught you knew that kind of stuff. It's trial and error. It's about trying to learn how to do the business. And that is my biggest problem with coming out of college. College is how truly prepared. Are these people if now if you're in a specialized field architecture or being a doctor or something like that real stuff right cast broadcasters but as I always tell kids and I think it pisses off the teachers when I go and speak everything that you're learning in. This book is not really going to be applicable to what you're doing if you want to do what ideal. It's a great way not to get invited back which means you have less speaking appear. Iraq's beautiful and that's Ri- offended at an event host all those jokes weren't that funny or are you offended people. I'm like Oh good so I don't have to do it next year. Right thanks. Thank you I really believe that though I you know. How many times do you do that and you go? This isn't I didn't learn any of this stuff. I mean I learned some things linen was wonderful for what I did like especially radio and it led me into camelback the wax because they had a teacher that taught down there so they pulled me out of the class and said hey we heard you're really involved. Would you like to do this. And that's how the whole thing got started for me so I needed to get that that door we're open but in terms of doing I just tell kids like you. Better get behind a microphone if this is truly what you WANNA do. Because it's not like anything else that you're going to do. You better practice in practice practice because if you don't and you come out after four years you're screwed the other thing too because you're hilarious dude and I've seen you do. BASICALLY STAND STAND UP AT BANQUETS. How many times have you ever done this? Because I've done a lot of times the next morning wake up and go oh boy boy. That was not good. The line at one liners fend. That guy. You Russa really got pissed at me. One time really pissed. I was at the night of the cowl flower year. And you can like Kinda say say anything at that event in bubba gasoline. God rest his soul. I'd gone to beforehand. I said so I can let this thing rip right. And he's like yeah. Of course you can do whatever you want. Okay so I get up there. And I I mean I'm ripping on everybody players myself organization in a fun way not dirty clean and he pulls me say that. Hey that was great stuff. That was funny. Yeah me rolling. He Goes I love it. I love it I was like okay. Great next day. I walked into his office. Hey Tony I feel good. He goes tell tell you what you got a lot of pissed off guys in that room over there. I said wait a minute. You told me that was okay but you know you you overstepped your bounds with this guy and that guy. I'm like oh no so. I had to go talk to players. I Guy Roll into. I see him on. The couch is Wayne Right and he just looks up and he just Shaking his head at me like got see. It sounds like oh no. I'm like walking around the clubhouse with my tail between my legs but those are the kinds of things that happen to us all the time. Yeah I think you're taking a chance it you know what's a good hitter. Three out of ten. Yeah if you go up in front of a room of five hundred people and you're the host. Yeah and four hundred. That's the most entertaining bank. Whatever 'cause there's so many banquets at Salk? They're boring. I mean you've got to have fun and you may walk away and say God fifty or offended. I would say the one time I probably was Outta line. It was the Saint Patrick's center. They ought Dan. Buck would always have the big charity of right to shave. Its he did a great job getting bigger names in there but it was so long I mean we played the Star spangled banner. And that we you did the pledge allegiance over. God's sakes running for office everything would take forever so John Camping era. WHO's a comedian? Funny Dude did the Harry Carey in my I premises that his Harry Carey was he was the original. I look at a guy in this Obrero. That was John Camp Era Chicago comedian. Great Harry Carey. I still contend that the Will Ferrell. SNL Harry Carey was GONNA loosely. Based I don't like that one still don't like it was an overdramatize. Usually of John Camping area did. But we're hosting this thing and I'm sure he got paid. I think I got a gift card. You know yeah and he and he just kind of having fun and it got so long and painful all that when we'd been drinking and so we got. We got a little loose minus in an essay. We might have been an f-bomb. which is that's the one that you're trying to end this getting taped aped and and it's also a charitable event with nuns when I left that out right and so the next week Fox to gets the email l.? been there that Martin is no longer welcome to host. No Way You my boss Minto Koch since retired great general manager during a good friend and we go and then he said what happened and I said Oh they've event so long he said what did you say and I said I don't know I just we were having so much fun. We're entertaining ourselves. Yeah Yeah and and I said I apologized. And what do I need to do. I'll make it right and then Dan maybe a week later he sends me Nemo say just you know he said almost everybody loved it said it was the best when we had one but I had a handful of people were unhappy nuns probably older and he said I had to Officially in my position reprimand you know the host. which was you and John and I said I get it? It's fine do I have to do it again. So you're out of it. It does happen where you get. I think I did a holy redeemer. Men's Club and then we're like and it was middle of winter but it's freezing in the gym and L.. Listen this guy with a caller walks by and they go. Hey Moron that's monsignor and I said. Hey boss I said if I throw a little extra basket we get some frigate he no I the Mac awards last year and. I hope Tom Ackerman is not mad at me. But he was the host of the Jack Buck Awards and and I was Intro Mike Kelly. It asked me to intro him. He was getting the burns. Bray Gord so in by the way. We're we're taping here at the MAC. The Missouri Athletic Shoes. It was last year. Yeah maybe they would like to jump on as a sponsor. We'd be more than happy to have them Dan at. What was that again? Dan at Danny Matt Scoops. Danny Mac dot com correct convince. Oh Ackerman just he. was you know Anna table seventeen..
