"damase" Discussed on The Eric Metaxas Show

"Exact opposite. We're going examine these. When we come back folks talking to kevin mccullough gentlemen i return to my conversation with the poster. Damase or kevin mccullough kevin. You're just saying that as you go down the list. The biden administration and i say that in quotes of course is you know issue by issue. really doing things dramatically at odds with what the average american including a democrat voters would want so. Let's go well. Let me just pick a handful of them. First of all with the emergence of critical race theory and the kind of non-involvement of the government on a certain level of the george floyd aftermath and kind of the ignoring of the violence. That happened there but over highlighting the supposed violence of january sixth. You have sent very mixed messages into every major urban metro in the country. Police are undermined. Laws are undermined. Recklessness and lawlessness pervade. And who is stuck in the middle most of the time the most the people that are most at risk are minority communities that live in the very neighborhoods where the police were used to help enforce law and keep people safe the binding administration's approach to saying and they hold this big news conference last week about stopping violent criminal activity in america. And what does the sub total of that press conference turn into. He wants to take legally owned firearms away from law abiding citizens who legally own the firearms that they own that makes no sense and has nothing to do with the issue of defunding police relaxing punishment criminal activity in doing the types of things that has encouraged this spike in crime in in the growth of crime. That's just one and it's just one small in how with his slogan who cares what happens to the poor i mean isn't isn't that it it. In other words whatever he needs to do to shore up his radical leftist base. If the poor suffer who cares. He doesn't care. It's kind of obvious that they think look. Yeah they'll suffer but You know in thirty years when it's marxist utopia they'll suffer a little bit less. I mean they don't seem to care about the day to day fact that if you live in a deluxe apartment in the sky like me or anybody else don't have to worry about this but everybody who lives in most of the bronx or brooklyn or queens their lives become hell and de blasio and most of the blue state Mayors and governors and the bite administration. They clearly don't care. I mean what do you make that that they don't care what. what are they doing. Well and i argue in the piece that we're discussing at townhall dot com. That the purpose of all of this is to do something very simple. It's to amass more power to To gather more resources to assume more resources and to assert more punishment over those who disagree with them so it's threefold they want to gain and keep political power. They want to a access as much of the natural resources monetarily. Speaking that they can and they wanna use all of that as kind of a laser-guided focused to punish those that that stand in their way or disagree with them and we're seeing this on multiple levels of of different Parts of government in different parts of of how. They're executing their agenda when and let me just bring up another one very simple. Last week i had on my show a mother daughter Four hundred meter athletic duo. The the mom has competed and it has coached the olympic track level of athletes. Her daughter's a sixteen year old. That ran in her first high school. Four hundred meter meet this last year. Both have had to compete against transgendered women which are biological men. The mom actually won her race by just a handful of seconds but the daughter would have won her race by a mile she was. She was firmly out in the lead as a sixteen year old competing against all ages of high school athletes. But the boy who was competing in their division as as a girl beat her by a mile and the point of all of this was that it wasn't that long ago in this country liberals actually led the chart but but evangelicals and church people in some conservatives got on board as well and said no no no women and men are equal but they are different. They deserve their own rank of competition. They deserve to compete against those that they are like. They deserve to compete in a competitive environment. If you line up men and women against each other the man is going to win that race. Most of the time and the mom who won her race. Cynthia monteleone her name. She said she said in in in any. You know sphere of competition. You may get that one exception. You know where you know. You're going to have a very extraordinarily gifted woman that could beat one man. Who's not as good as what he can do. But you take the best. Wnba player of all time. And you put them against michael jordan of all time and you're not gonna it's not going to be a close competition michael jordan's gonna win one on one against that player every single time. I mean in tennis. It was billie jean king. They had to get an old retired guy. That couldn't do anything to bobby riggs. Nineteen seventy-three the sexes. It was a joke. I mean he was an old man and you know he did really really well but this look i mean she almost lost but doesn't this almost get just sill even discussing this. Most american doesn't understand that. This is an outrage. Anybody with a brain with commonsense understands this is an outrage to have your daughter kill herself to practice and practice and train and train and train and get beat by a dude who claims to be a woman. It really just proves the the craziness but americans are somehow letting this happen. School leaders school board leaders Superintendents of schools. They're letting this happen isn't some them. I don't blame the confused young man. Actually there's two things. I wanna hit in that response because two things are happening One is that parents across the board are starting to speak up and not and not take this anymore. You've seen in loudon. Virginia on the critical race theory issue. Just the last couple of weeks School board meetings where parents have lined up by the hundreds. They are unloading on these school boards..

Anything but I was just recently I've been stocking up all these old drum machines I. Guess specifically are anybody really if you guys have experimented much with. I mean a lot of them are Simmons, but even like the big drought manufacturers back from the daily Pearl and channel the these. Boxes that. I guess you could plug pads into these days. It's probably just at a different way but if you guys are experimental those at all on Damase or Pete is much better. I have a not like an issue issue just patients issue. With through ramming drums because. I kinda. I duNNO I. It's so much easier for me to just go through the process of playing it. That can get all the little nuances and textures details mall swishes washes in with my playing and it just I was trying to Learn native instruments compare that well non doodling around with garage ban the like a retired. Yeah Yeah. It's. It's something you think that maybe. HAVE HEARD BY ARMY When news it a sound that you're, you're fan of a stereo lab records or something where you've got the live drums electronics mixed together. Yeah. And I've I've done tons of. God I used to play pretty much only with fans had a lot of backing tracks like. Raven Nets when I'm soaring with them and? More like Barry like. Sort of Eight electro music playing for awhile live. That is really hard to play live to that or live Joensuu that Jesus. and. And Dead Combos. While which which have you ever heard dead Combo Nah Remember you telling me about them. We're in Berlin or someone one of the dudes from the ban came in Berlin had remember checking now is pretty cool. Yeah. Sort of the like a mixture of suicide in. The stooges but you gotta be. Because if you search dead Combo sometimes you get that Brazilian band it's not the Portuguese fan. Yeah? Yeah. They used to just have like they're backing tracks, which is mainly just the like a kick drum going on like as notes is succeed notes. Like the last thing while. They recorded I think they asked me if I wanted to play drums, does play live drums on top of that. Actually, Kinda really love doing that I just don't enjoy the process of program.

"That'd be a harbinger of a final three. All right right there. All right, and then from BBC Three Twenty Five Hey Robin Gang What do you think is best for Danny this week we'll see see that cody and Nicole are leaving her out in the cold cold cold water the Big Brother House probably not. I mean maybe maybe if ultimately varies push to save in, but it seems like that, cody. Nicole won't be on the same page about that. Yeah I'm. Like cody and in Memphis were talking earlier saying that if if Kevin Stays on the block, Danny has been saying she can't betray. Day She can't have Kevin Than Liv Tyler would need to go but cody in Memphis agreed that if Kevin stays on the block sorry. Danny were gonNA send Kevin Home. So I would imagine that that might tip off but I would also imagine that cody just GonNa smooth it over with her because that's what always happens she always. Christian can you believe Memphis is still in this game? No. Honestly he was mentioned during this podcast and I I had to like shake myself a little bit and just remind me that he was still in the game I mean as much as Julie Chen mentioned him. You'd think that I would get in my head that he was still here. But now, he just fades away on all the live leads. He he woke up this week because he's just been hibernating while who is. The mastermind alliance has been steamrolling the game this week. He heard people arguing of trying to ruin his alliance and he woke up, he was like. Eyes. What's going? Why? Why are we struan at? Why are we putting alliance members on the blog? What is happening here? gauge? Stop this stop the knock it off. So we've got a good thing going. Just everybody get back in line. We've got another few stops on the train before we start shooting each other. Okay meaning know. He's like the people on that movie passengers. Right were you supposed to make it to the final six before he woke up but he accidentally woke up too early and like I was I was almost done and now I'm not going to get get all the way to the final six with my alliance attack. Yeah I do think that he will wake up for an Ian on the block week. I think that he will be making sure to whip those votes together to make sure he goes home he gets a block. Yeah for Dan. Revenge, for Dan. Okay all right Chris, giving it a thoughts about the House that you wanNA share while you're here with us. I mean honestly I'm always just here to see what David is GonNa do. I'm interested to see if she's going to keep up this acting gig. If I'm David I would maybe take an acting lesson to her because nobody was buying it this past week. But then I'm really also as much as it pains me to say I'm interested to see what happens with. Nicole. After this past week I'm having Tyler and possibly up on the block I think my wake up a little bit especially if Ian goes home, she's going to be in a not a bad position, but she's going to have to recalculate a little bit. So I'm interested to see what happens there. Yeah. I'd like to see Nicole Frenzel on tilt for this week that might be worth it if he ends up going home to see how she reacts to that. I mean, it'll be a lot of tears and so I don't think that I'm ready for it from that gambling. But after that when she starts getting her head back in the game, I'm here for a yeah okay. Tarrant I think that would be exciting to see Nicole with the vendetta. I mean it would be fun I just this morning when she was talking about like. She, his Co. said. Why just because day wins the veto. I have to lose one of my close allies instead of her, how does that make sense like? It's exactly what makes woods. That's what happens. That's she won one thing. Yeah. Yes. She does not take it. Well, when things are not going her way, it'll be great to see. I feel like there might be this miscalculation in Nicole's head about where she is in day Vaughn's order and like I. It. Feels like she seems like she should devante consider in more because in Unicolor close. But she she's just like grappling with the fact that it doesn't care. Yeah. Okay. Tarit I. Also, was happy to see over the weekend that We didn't blow the surprise when we spoke with Bailey this weekend about about-turn. SWAGGIE GONNA buy her a Tesla unlike one of the other exit interviewers. Unbelievable that that they would ruin the surprise like that rob I'm glad that we have some professional between the. "So while we're in the movie my phone starts blowing up and by blowing up I mean vibrating. Allot as if I'm getting text messages and growing so my daughter was with us and my son was at home and I just looked at it quickly to see if that was him. Something was wrong or whatnot and I looked at the phone and it wasn't him. It was a guy that we used to work with that we really love is one of the war. We always say he was the exact definition of abro. Always having a good time. Always you know come over. Let's do this. Let's do that whether it's in He's called Charlie in good time. Charley yeah so I don't. Har Hardly ever hear from Charlie. He he used to work here in the building us where we are in Charlotte then he moved to Texas. Now he's in Florida. We will talk every now and then I think the last time I was in south Florida on a little getaway in an exchange messages and talk to try to get together but we couldn't work it out so he sends text messages. I don't pull the phone out and go through them because people freak out when you do that and there were at least two other people in the theater so then. My phone starts quick vibrating. Meaning somebody's calling. And I look and his Charlie. Colin can't get him text so I'm trying to call. It still couldn't answer the phone by the time we get out of the movie as the movie is ending. He's going through the process again texting then trying to call so finally when I got out of the movie I expect said Hey. I'm sorry I was in a movie. I couldn't respond. What's going on. And he sent a picture of some Some young ladies nothing battering than just some young women's and he said these are two of y'alls fans that I have run into ear in south Florida. Evidently their friends of his buddies daughter or something so it wasn't anything at all in the way of flirty or anything like that. It was just like scandalous city. No way cool this cool guy. Charlie knows you know the guys that y'all listen to in the morning. I can call TJ right. Now I'll take some right thing so I was texting with him and then He gave his phone to the girls. And then they were talking back and forth with me and Of course you know I'm pumping him up like hey didn't Charlie's our hero and La La And one of them's name's Matty and so it reminded me of times when we were in The ESPN club. Disney and we saw all of those people. Were Wear Miami Hurricanes Jackets Jerseys and stuff and we were waiting to get a table and you had jump at a table when somebody vacated it. There wasn't any way you know you get online. Get in line for a table and I said hey listen to Paul Castro Novo in the mornings in Miami and they said Yeah. We Love poll you so then are called. Paul and Hesse. Hey Talk to him when you give us your table when you get up so he hated me for that but it was one of those. Because I've been there though. Google Has A New Recovery From Addiction Search Website

"Google has an addiction and website. It's called good. It is fighting one issue which is bad addiction content. That's that's a good way to handle that. Isn't that exactly the same scene website Asia xactly which is where they're I think they're all going to around Earth website around Earth website those of us who still believe so this is called recover together recovered together dot with Google Dot COM and it's for national recovery month which is September. There's lots of information here. This'll be a lot better than searching for Lord. That's the theory right now. If I searched for recovery does I would presume Google puts us at the top although that's that's a hot button right now for regulators. Oh yeah what if I searched for something like a go ahead make is it. Is it all recovery or is it just oh I get American Airlines exactly what I got. I got a knowledge knowledge graph card on the right for alcohol. JAMMOUS DAMASE was the second enter good okay see mine was a a and then oh now so alcoholism knowledge card mental disorder order is that give me their search for heroin addiction and I don't like getting it so interesting. I maybe you just have to search for recover together. I don't know this is a this is a really nice site. "Challenge this week. Anyway. Hell or high water? I'm getting there and doing a stand up and Matt said to me, I think last week he said, we got you set up at the ice house. You're going long. I've been doing twenty minutes, but compete, a little windy sometimes. And so they're giving you just give me fifteen minutes. And I said. They're giving me fifteen. So I go to explain right? He said, no they want their fifteen minutes. They said fifteen minutes. And I said do they they gave me twenty and I've been going past twenty. I think they're trying to get me to twenty gave me fifteen to get money. Like, I don't I don't know. They said fifteen and we had this back in this fourth where we never really knew. And I showed up at the ice house. And it said my name and said twenty minutes, so man, whatever I was saying you they said fifteen because they mean twenty right on ever forget, the converse steered into your Brian. I I was wearing right moment. So in my mind on something because I thought they were saying they weren't saying to less time. They're saying do the time we greed on. And we know what to order to get you to do that. Tell you fifteen tell the relative or the friend show up at a certain time knowing they're going to either be early or late depending on how the friend is. Right. But isn't it just up to me only to deliver the information being provided because I'm looking back at the Email? And I've got multiple EMAS where he just says fifteen I understand the connection you're making. But for my purposes, I'm strictly trying to talk about what the venue was say. It's not Matt's connection to make right. The message. Well, one is I value your input Matthew, so. Ating out loud. I'm not saying I want the truth Damase, backhand you. I'm saying I'm thinking out loud in front of you. And I you and your your wisdom can can weigh in window negligent. And that's that's why that's part of why I'm doing it. But also, I don't know what the exchange you had is like, I don't know if you talk to someone and the guy said, look, I'm gonna tell them to do fifteen because he goes over every time or I don't know. I don't know if there's a discussion or what the exchange was I just know the fifteen part. So I'm just saying out loud. Not not a critique of you, Matt when I'm saying is. People sort of say what? People are trying to get a result. And they oftentimes say different things to try to get said result anyone's been in a relationship knows that's out works. And I really would have kept it to fifteen if I thought they wanted to keep the fifteen, but the fact that they printed twenty when I got there just meant that or that. No one knows what they're doing. Anyway, that makes me want to attack the Booker, by the way. How dare you lie to meek it, sir? I took my I did the only thing I could do I think that do which is brought my iphone with me up on stage and put the timer on it. I'm always paranoid skin start ringing. Her do something and nineteen minutes in thirty seven seconds. I just started a rapid rampant down. All right. Thank you. So that was that was that little vignette was kinda cooked cooked, and you should know. And Marc Garriga doesn't watch it probably. Because of that. I mean that you, you know, you, you know, what the answer is going to be he's gonna look bad. And it's always going to do is find stuff and go. That's not right. You can't do that. Right. And it's like we talk about all the time. If you're if you already have the truth on your side leave it now. Right now. This makes you question other parts of documentary that were very believable. Yep. Right. Let me tell you about car and oh sorry Castro. That's wanna do then. We'll take a quick break and come back with some rotten tomatoes Castrol edge stronger under pressure has thing about the audience. I'll yelling out three times Castro with fluid. Thank you. I just like you have your together, feel like. I feel like that has been also, one of my mottos is like going through trials makes you stronger. It really does, which sounds so cliche, but it does like you go through something hard and you take something better out of it, you you get a lesson out of it, and you can put that into your life and like build up your portfolio or set, you know, through all the trials you've been through and take out the good things through those what you've learned through those trials and make yourself a better person them. So I feel like I have gotten a lot stronger through going through. Yeah. No, you don't have to be a victim and say, why me poor me a- you can make something good out of it. Definitely. "So I had seen something about this earlier in the night was trying to find this quote that I had screen shotted, but worrying doesn't take away tomorrow's troubles, it takes away today's piece, what you saw on my Instagram. I did o EV literally screen shot at it on January night, two thousand sixteen. That was my. Let me see when I did that. I just saw that in a loved it and I post impulse it today. Now today it was a few days ago. Yeah, I posted it on six days ago. I said, I saw this quote today. I loved it, and I, I swear watcher stories. No, it was on my story is on actual Instagram under this photo. Oh, you're kidding. Get into the mic. Sorry. 'cause I heard Will Smith. This story has stuck with me ever since I heard it Will Smith was talking about how he was going skydiving and he, you can YouTube it. He'd probably tell waiver than I do not. Probably definitely. He's going skydiving in the day before him and his friends were like, yeah, we're gonna jump out a plan. This going to be awesome. And then he went home and all night. He was freaking out about it like, oh my gosh, I can't do. I'm so scared him so nervous. He couldn't fall asleep because he was so anxious about it. And then the next day he gets on the plane sonorous, he's up in the sky is about to jump knees like freaking out. And then he says, as I'm jumping all of a sudden night, like all of a sudden just fill an overwhelming sense of peace and complete one hundred percent bliss. And he's like, why was I so worried that just ruined my day yesterday for absolutely. No reason. Yeah. Even if and. I've heard this in a lot of self-help books. I've read before, but even if something were to go wrong, why? Why are you gonna waste the days before worrying about it? Right. I think in it's called the five second rule. By Mel Robbins, she says the same thing where she worries about her kids a lot and she's like, it doesn't do any good for me when I send them on a trip and I'm like, oh my gosh, with they get in this, what they get in this, she's like, it doesn't help to Rune even if our to happen to ruin the moments before of it had our last moments bite worrying about it, just like living and a lot of the times we Rune everything by doing that. And then we built it up in our mind. And then when it comes time, it ruins the experience. Yeah. No, that's funny. Obviously, I love the Cy posted a few days ago. I, I thought that was so good. 'cause I'm totally guilty of that. Like the what ifs. We'll what if that went wrong will what if this in like, yeah, it's just it does take away. Your piece and there's no need. Even if like you said something is gonna go horribly wrong. Like why are you wasting your experiences before it even happened? Yeah, exactly. If you don't even know if it will happen, so I like so lot happier who stopped doing. Yeah, I love that. Okay. Ahmen. Well, thank you guys so much for listening in again. Thank you for all the amazing feedback. The reviews, the emails, everything you guys have done for us. We appreciate it so much seriously. We sound kinda monotone or saying that right now, but like thank you. Yeah, to this burden and looked more sized up the whole area and said, quote, might have to pull your foot off off off off off. I take that foot off. Take the foot off. That was another guy pulled not tigger off puller off pull the foot off. Yeah, with the rope right now. Ramon we pull the rope. We're thinking baby come out, right. Okay. So have the foot torn off fireman? Okay. Yep, right. Floyd didn't care. He said, quote, pull my foot off. Get me out while he's tired of it. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Burden may not have known Floyd lost his mind earlier that Damase loosening, anyway, he thought he got approval. He goes out. No, he tells everyone Floyd had agreed to the rope pulling plan. Okay. The crowd did not approve everyone. The locals are like that. That doesn't sound that sounds like medieval, like, fucked up. You crazy. Louisville man tried take his shoes off taking untie the show show. I just say that runaway that dragged out of the place. So they said it would break his foot or if it didn't pull off like it'd be a disaster. So docked in the crowd said, the rope pull would stretch Floyd's internal organs like taffy. So there's a lot of doctors. Good. There's a lot of against and the doctor understands what's going on. Yeah, he's like, don't that'll gentlemen intestines are taffy. Yeah. So he's a weird one? Yeah. He was also like what we've pulled apart. We'll be in test. If wait, he has taffy and says, every man knows and as any man of science knows what all filled with different. Let me show you boys. Y'all. God, it's not taffy. Now if we're not careful, it might strike the now in later and then skills they everywhere. Burden says, look, there's no other option, but down there all we can do is pull them with a rope. Locals had no responses that no ideas. So everyone agrees reluctantly k. let's pull them out with a rope. Okay. At five, PM a body harness was brought down, put around him. Homer, skeets and burden went in with a hundred foot rope when they got to Floyd Homer gave him ham, sandwiches coffee and whiskey. Okay, sure. That's great. Then Floyd said he didn't actually want to have his foot pulled off. So now he's had some food and he's like, well, we doing. This about idea. Yeah. Oh, wait, I have a foot. Well, we're not as worried about the foot, but the doctor put it out. You're taffy might get everywhere. So so now he's come to and he's like, not do this, right? So Homer slipped him sedative, probably in some food. Sure. Knock him out, quote, to build up his vitality to stand the shock if we did pull off his foot. Yeah. Uh-huh. That's what it does. It really heightens the experience Homer tied the harness around and put the harness around tied..

"Right right so we thought we would investigate these things taking into account starvation dynamics so individuals follow a growth trajectory and over the course of their lifetimes and so there's a time scales associated with adding biomass onto your body and losing biomass when you start and because these control indirectly the reproduction and mortality of individuals than populations because they determine the speed at which the vigils switched between starved and full states in our model we could incorporate these time skills in when we did that we were able to reconstruct damase law essentially only by considering the time skills which organism switch between these two bins based on how quickly they can gain and lose body fat and the other observation that we were able to make that we didn't really ticipant was that we were able to essentially provide a mechanism for cope's rule the way that we did that was by looking at the competitive advantage of similarly sized populations of competitors so if you imagine two populations of editors each trying to go forward single resource they're not interbreeding but we could imagine that they're closely related evolutionary if one competitor has a little bit more fat on its body in one competitor has little bit less we can ask the question is does that header that has a little bit more bat have a competitive advantage if it does then we would say that there might be a trend for his larger body size by being able to carry more fat on your body and according to a model that's true up to a certain point and then it becomes better to be.
