But anyways, my point is, the NIH released a study and the study says very clearly. The masks have more psychological and physiological harm to our Children and two adults for that matter, But I'll discuss it on another day. But it does nothing to stop any variant of any virus. And, if worse, quote unquote believing the science And Fale cheese and I ate should talk about that study that came out in January. It's May Nature is psychotic. I would lose much. What do you think all those talking Makana Hey, the actor running against You know, I guess Abbot of Wiltern and governor because your Hollywood actor who I happen to be found of, I think he's really good. You ever watch Dallas Dallas Buyers Club did such a good job in that movie. And interestingly Right to choose came from Donald Trump back to governor. Abbott member Biden said that that when he lifted the restrictions in Texas that he was a Neanderthal Yeah, well, it looks like, uh, sippy Cup. This is pretty. This is pretty frightening. There was a piece out about how Schumer is on a collision course with his own party on Israel. And that is apparently the fighting in the Middle East. You know why isn't Schumer, Biden and Pelosi taken on the squad for their virulent anti Semitism? Nearly 30. Senate Democrats are demanding that Israel back off Before they do too much damage to the terrorist group Hamas. Whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel. Wow! Modern day appeasers. "What is Denzel Washington up to these days? Didn't sell has a brand new movie that's going to be coming out a week from Friday? This movie is interesting for a couple of reasons, called the little things. It's ah kind of Ah police drama police who done it a drama It's got Oscar winner Denzel Washington Oscar winner Rommie Ma'lik. Was Freddie Mercury and Bohemian Rhapsody. Oscar winner Jared Leto from Of the Dallas Dallas Buyers Club. And this this movie is also interesting because this is the first movie for Warner Brothers Pictures. That will be released both in theaters and online at the same time. Which has a lot of industry people very upset. Because part of the deals for people who participate in this movie the actors, directors, etcetera as they get their salary, but they also get a percentage of the box office. And with theatre's closed they are. There's very little of that percentage of the box office to go around with this. The studios have re negotiated with Ah lot of the artists. And you know, since we don't really know when theaters they're gonna be opening again, they Warner Brothers wanted to get movies out there somehow. And not wait until all the theaters are open again. So this is a little bit of a test balloon. You know, for the whole thing, but we did. A one of the zoom chats with Denzel and Jared Leto and Rami Malek over the weekend and one of the things we talked about the movie, and we'll share those interviews next week. One of the things that we talked with Denzel about was his his family of actors that is growing and growing. It's the last time we talked so much has happened for your son. John. David, are we ever going to see you both in a movie together? Me tell you something. He has a sister, Olivia Washington. Just remember, I said so great Actress. Great great actress. And you can see her in this film. Yeah, That's right. That's right. What am I talking about, baby? Yeah, right. But she they are both, You know, Needless to say, my wife and I are extremely proud. Not just with their work, but who they are as human beings and their kind and humble and talented. I will say this just to pick a guy off of it. I've met all of themselves kids, and you could not ask for No. Maura Kind, compassionate, thoughtful, intelligent kids, and that's obviously Dutilleux and your fabulous wife and then they're there. Beautiful people. Thank you. I forgot She was in the movie. That's how good she was spoken like a true dad. You know how Dad's air Sometimes they forget. Yeah, sure. Kids are. I thought she looked familiar. Yeah, That's my daughter. Bob Newhart was on Conan last night. Is he 90 now? Something like 91. I think you said 91 on and He's got a new, uh It's kind of a new project, which is an old project is classic button down Mind of Bob Newhart album, which was his very, very first album, the one that put him on the map of one all kinds of Grammy awards. Was edited down When Warner Brothers released it back in 1960. They trim that up a little bit and took out. Ah, lot of Bob Newhart's classic pauses and The slow pace at which he tells stories. But he said at the time, he didn't say anything because it was his first deal. So he was just, you know, Happy toe ever record deal back then. He's gone back on and has redone the button down mine album in the way that he intended it to be. And that's going to be coming out soon. We'll talk more about that in the weeks to come. But one of the things that Conan talked with Newhart about last night was the covert 19 vaccine. You know, Bob is in his nineties, and Conan wanted to know what the status was with him. Yeah, well, I'm not the one. I said you don't. We're supposed to be right after the the nursing home said right after the Healthcare people, But I haven't I call them my doctor the other day, and I said, because I want to find out what the procedure is the protocol and all that. I'm not. He said. We don't know We haven't gotten any word from from the county. Hey said you liked E O. Might try. Where else? Ralphs. Wait, that it's a grocery store. Yeah, would you? What would you say Something about? Don't trust those. You know, I don't want the guy saying, you know. Yeah, I feel Yeah. When you get finished putting the lettuce away. Give this guy a shot that long, Thin needle. Look, that's it. Don't Please don't go to Ralph's. I know they have a pharmacy section, but don't go to rouse Bob Newhart Woz Ha! Hilarious on Conan last night. If you go to Conan's page on TBs dot com, you can watch the full interview. You probably don't want the produce man giving you Ah, vaccination. I think that's good advice from Bob Newhart. Ralphs is like Mariano is out there and Southern California. You know, you go back and listen to those Bob Newhart button down mine albums and some of those routines especially like Abe Lincoln and Madison Avenue and Abner Doubleday and the invention of baseball in the school for bus drivers, their justice. Funny, They really aren't dated. No, they're they're timeless. And you know, Bob Newhart's delivery of these bits are perfect. Can't imagine that anybody would want to trim them down a little bit. They are. They're just absolutely classic. You know, I've been backstage with Bob Newhart a couple of times, and it's so interesting to see today's comedians. I mean some of the top Comedy stars today. Who worship Bob Newhart. You could tell Conan's affection for Bob Newhart. But I've seen I've seen so many. You know, people or stand up comedy guys. Sitcom stars completely melt on get all Fanboy when they didn't get to meet Bob Newhart. Truly one of the nicest guys that there is. Yeah, I got to interview him once and yeah, he's the real deal. Chicago's funniest accountant, right his original occupation before I got sidetracked on this little thing called comedy. Already. We'll talk tomorrow. Thank you, Dean and coming up after the news. We will talk about what's coming to your car. You're not gonna believe what happened at the consumer Electronics show what they showed that's going to be part of your dashboard very soon. Here is part of your front page, though. Right now, 22 degrees.

"One hundred dollars in aid fix it. The I'd take one hundred dollars to fix it. Absolutely. Wait a minute. Does that mean? She's allowed to read all the stuff. Yeah. That means a guy you're getting the guy in trouble. Unless he unless he's Clean unless it's clean living. Unless he's got nothing to hide. No that's why again he left a note with one hundred dollar bill attached saying. Please tell my wife the phone is unfixable. Yes, oh. Yes. Obviously. There's a reason why he doesn't want her to see the phone. I'd pay the hundred if she doesn't want to see the fall. So the wife took the phone or she picked up the phone. The Guy dropped his phone off at a phone repair. Guy had a no hidden inside one of those little cases that's connected to the back. Saying please tell my wife the phone is unfixable check the phone his. Wow. So you guys would get the guy in trouble that eventually getting caught anyway. Yeah. I mean that guys we're. With the greatest criminal mind of our times words, burner phone, burner phone, and all right next one here a beloved stray cat that made London's Southwark Cassia drill her home for twelve years was memorialized in special service hosted by the Cathedral's Dean on a livestream door. Kuenz magnificant was a stray cat that wondered into the Cathedral in two thousand eight and lived there for twelve years before her death last month she was enormously popular and had a mess of twitter following and was also the focus of a lot of people's visits to the to the Cathedral. The Dean told CNN. He said, he felt it was appropriate to hold a memorial for the feline. Have you or would you have a funeral memorial for your pet swipe left or swipe bright? Swipe Right I had a memorial for my dog. Hollis who passed away and I had a memorial for my dog Enzo who passed away. So yeah. I. Mean these are important things in my life and there's going to be some kind of ceremony when one of them passes. But. I'm trying to think. This is for a Reagan goes will be a memorial. No. You where were you? What will you do with them? I don't know if could question. Is there a desert like what do you do? What did you do with Sophie? With Enzo Hollis. I first of all, I had him. Cremated and then spread the ashes on Venice beach. Yes. I. Guess. We'll probably do something like that although I wouldn't do it for a cat because cats just sit there. Yeah cats. Were saying it's their pet you know but it's a campaign about cat they don't give them A. Dog should get special treatment cats are cats could care less if they have a memorial dogs want one. Like. You know what I did with my cat who passed away Will my when I moved here my friend adopted one of them because I had to and when he passed away. we buried him in her backyard and I planted a rose Bush on top. So now it's the Nemo Bush and so it was. Yeah. I was Nemo and so it was a little tiny little little plant announces big beautiful. Rose Bush and I like to say that it's Nemo came back to life reincarnated as flower. got. All right last one here really quick during a recent interview on the happy sad confused podcast Matthew mcconaughey revealed that he was a huge fan of the original Hulk TV show and that would Edward Norton. Decided to leave his role as Bruce Banner and the Hulk. mcconaughey says that he was one of the first to step up in his absence but. When he put his hat in the Ring Marl said thanks but no thanks and obviously, they ultimately gave the role to mark Ruffalo. Portrayed the character since twenty twelve's the avengers. Do you think Matthew mcconaughey would have made a good Bruce Banner Slash Hall Swipe left or Swipe? I swipe right I think he would have been great by the way you could stick anybody in that role because ultimately it's going to be a big CGI. Green Guy. So Yeah I. Am I just don't see it I don't he doesn't want the whole, but he's a good actor hulk would have a southern accent it's my. Arise. Don't. Make me mad. Don't think it'd be a good fit. You're making me mad right now. What why you think it'd be a good fiqh. Guess I don't know it just doesn't strike me as a whole kind of guy not to say that he's not in shape or anything. He just strikes me as somebody who'd be more of a Nimble Spiderman type character not like a big bruising hall guy. I saw an interesting interview, McConnell? Hey the other day he was asked how he broke out of. The romantic comedy roles that he was doing into the and he said I had to start turning that stuff down. He goes I turned down fifteen million for a row for a ROM COM. And Andy Cohen had him on my show watch what happens live he down fifteen million for a ROM COM and egos. Then my mom comes dried up but people started offering me other stunning Dallas Dallas buyers club in the entire world change the whole arc of his career. Although you know what's weird about that I. Anticipate bringing this up today but a matthew mcconaughey I don't think has ever gained the weight back properly after doing Dallas buyers club. He lost so much weight and he looks like a different guy now because of that I think you know it's funny means that you bring that up because he talked about that extensively on the Joe Rogan podcast when he was on it last week. Oh, he did. Oh Yeah. He brought it up and he he actually did say that exact same thing he said he knew that when he regained all the weight, he had to be careful because he said a lot of people when you gain that weight back that much weight back quickly, it can come back in different places and it can look funny on you and so he said he had a ramp up their slowly and he said he still to this day thinks he has not recovered from that and he says body will never be the same because of that. Wow. Yeah. He lost a ton of weight for that role. All right lenses at it. Cool good job good job. I like those I like those lens I coming up next. I John All over the Internet I am being accused of being Cova denier. Nothing could be further from the truth. Your position on this though you should you should explain what it is coming up. Okay. "That would play out to this scenario of putting a chip in an arm or anything like that. What do you think of? that kind of could actually happen. It's a terrible movie. But. That, just Timberlake, we call it time. That's the exact same Wanna just thinking. I'M GONNA. I thought it was okay. Pretty good movie which? I don't know. Say that. I thought it was okay I liked so arm. Is that we're going to be doing running. Get time and yeah, I mean. If you think about it like the idea of it is Kinda like Kinda wedded, or he is like when you're in a poor situation like you know you take the bus and it's harder to do things you know. You're rushing time when you have money you can. Be Freezing. Time. Matter. You could be cool. I mean obviously can't live forever in that movie, but. It's like it's Kinda like that's. When I was watching this. Anna correlated with how things are. Making it more. Muscle really was like. As a coalition of life in terms of how the rich can always bottom self time in terms of like, even if you're sick. Yeah, if you're rich, you can get the best healthcare. Sauber's per example. That's Jellison. Just got HIV. In the private HIV HIV was like a death sentence. And because of his buddy, it is power. He still live today A. Pretty normal life for the most part. Yeah. Have you seen that mean with him wearing the mask? No Mon you're fine. Oh now uses to wear protection now. Charlie Sheen. He's another good example. He's. Boehner the yen HIV. They went to Mexico to get all his medication, so he can get to cure. While I don't WanNa say cure, but he still kick in. He's got what magic magic drinking or yeah. The Truth Serum. Dallas buyers club was based on a true story. Right? It was yes. You think there's a Dallas Dallas buyers club for rich people. has to be. The rich people have whatever they want. There's a there's a person for everything when you had the money. You know what I mean I. Know a guy that knows the guy yeah. F. Literally. So there was a big block partying Kissimmee Florida where that recently. No. Have Block body at all. Sorry to saw that on the news. I was like they had the air. You'll. Sorry just a chick down an aerial Krige of the whole thing, which I don't know. Maybe the cops are bored or maybe there's complaints, but it shows in in Florida out there. Block party up during the Cova Fun. And added just wanted to see if you're at. Well I will say this. That is the least of Arkansas in terms of like. was going on because Disneyworld is literally opened up, did. Everything else is open so I. Think you don't studios is open to. I was reading that I saw that Disney open a couple of weeks ago, but I think universal, or whatever was open way before that a no one reading evens bike. Under the radar dude. Everyone likes Disney on more than the other ones you know, so. It's like that's probably when no one even have you seen with the universe because I heard that they're going to be bringing it to the universal by you guys. the Mario Land Super. Nintendo Roulin Yeah I saw that. That looks cool. I came I. I've seen like leaked image, it or not imaging a leaked video of like things operating. At the Japanese word the Japan Japanese Japan one. I know I know all my terminology. It looks really cool. It looks like. It was built for like adults that grew up with that is seems like. Yeah of think, so it looks cool. It looks interest from what I saw. Offensive I said they got an aerial view of it. They said it's kind of small actually. kind of small. Oh, so they're putting the universal, yes. On that's doing Gotcha okay cool I've and I mean opponent over here and well from what I heard Florida is getting one not. Oh maybe I'll try it there and then maybe maybe me you're. Not GonNA lie. "But we're talking about star wars now talked about bill. Bird's Boston accent Sul burs based Boston. I'm just saying the mandatory is good fucking cool it on the baby. Oh to stuff and maybe will. I feel like there was an episode of no baby iota. NFL wasn't it like not this last episode but the episode before that which one the one with sedaris she had baby yoga she. She happened but That was book ended the episode. If that's the way it worked whether it's just a little bit of baby out of the beginning of the end that's fine. You wanted them to be separated in that episode they largely are and then it becomes at the very end. It became a thing. Yeah but you know I strange that that episode so which does exactly what I say I want to have with baby might have been my least favorite of the season. It wasn't super good. Yeah I can recognize Amy Sedaris. I feel like it was. The weakest episode actually. Didn't like that character ball. I thought she was okay. I didn't like it didn't have Abra. I didn't like the fake Han Solo Guy. How do you not have eyebrows? You have to be a special race store browse not grow back for maybe sedaris Never G. He has eyebrows. What does she? I don't know he's a cat. She is a cat cancer have eyebrows they have whiskers is the joke in Bocek horsemen where she says she's GonNa get her whiskers trend and then she followed that up with I. I run into walls constantly but man I look. That's pretty funny thing is to convert. He never fucking saw is so net flicks is still an effort. I heard it's good watching thirty. Rock again Kenneth No that's all the thoughts I have about chill on the baby. Automated learns a good show. I guess that's all I really wanted to say. I thought you had another take. He said he had to L.. My second take was the nature of like episode Episodic content TV can yeah. We're we're in an era. Where is I certainly need a story to follow between episodes like that's the one good thing? The Dragon Prince had going forward is that it continued the story. Most fine fine it just falls into a lot of pratfalls easy writing. That's I don't like it but I definitely need something to like. hold onto between episodes now. I've gotten to a point. Where if you don't have that I can't stomach another friend I feel like the the episodic Sitcom was a thing of the nineties and the nineties are over were going into twenty twenty? We need something the sinker teeth into. That's why Berry is good. That's why veep is good. That's why it's silicon on valley is good. Those are all. Hbo Shows but HBO has this thing. Where do comedies? Thirty minute comedies. But there's something to a follow episodes episode. You always kind of know where you're going. 'cause they stepped up these arcs and then by the end of the season the arc might close but then then you know they're going to set up a newark. Yeah storytelling needs to to adapt mortar. That I'm done with the bland. Nothing nothingness connected between the two and the man Laurean started with that and Kinda has that to a degree because we're still following the arc of you've got to find a safe place to put this baby. Yeah but there's a reason why the baby doesn't show up in the movies right. One would imagine. The baby's dead baby has the die. The baby baby has to die. What shoots the baby in the face? So what is the assumption that the mandatory takes place on nine years after the events of Return to the Djeddai. Maybe roughly about nine years Windows thirty five years later awakens. I mean. We know that the baby doesn't grow up it is. It is exactly thirty five years after Return Jetta. That baby doesn't grow up or her at the babies die right because of the brutal Listrik Western. Like it's maybe baby maybe the a baby yoga and the mandatory infuse into a greater being called Ray off awful look. I'm just saying bill fused together but they are raised parents on the question of answer. The Mandal Mandalay in baby. Yoda are raised parent's J.J. Abrams said he was going to answer the question. Little that we know John Fabra was already getting us there beforehand forehand kylo Ren said I've I know who your parents are and they like. There's a flashback to him. Like looking picture of the mandatory Iota Mandal. You know doesn't want to explain it because there's an odd time. I'm saving you some trouble. Ray they were nothing things they sold you for drinking money. And he's like. This is the best narrative for her. This is the protectors you can't know. And then now wow what's going to happen. Is that moment's GonNa Happen. Touted Star Wars episode nine opens. That moment plays J.J. Abrams walks onto the set. Hunches out of driving in the face and says it was Amanda Laurean and baby. Yoda Mine J.J. Abrams do the crawl. And then Scarlett Johansson shows up on turnout. Driver have a fight and he punches the wall. There's a kid in that marriage story Have you seen it now. Nominated for six Golden Globes. I uh Noah Baumbach made the squid the whale which I liked but I don't like to see people get divorced married store net divorce story. He ever. You Know Saga Yeah. We happy the driver. Listen you know Adam. Driver can't be happy. Be Happy and driver knows how to to scream and get divorced and fight for our nation. He was a marine noah. Baumbach is loyal Noah Baumbach only makes movies about upper class people who wear rolexes getting divorces. How do you know that's the Diablo? Cody all. These people whose names I don't know. Diablo Cody Juno. I put that together. Good well well. Let's just wrap up our talk of the mental oriented with mention of another director that you and I like that anyone knows exist is name as your ghost us. Land the most yes yorgos. Lot of us Big Fan here on the podcast. Oh I love the lobster. Is he directing the next episode of the Mantle. Or I know that's the one we're baby dies. TV's directing episode to say now Hell Yeah they made him the voice. It always has laugh. Clap they made him the voice snap snap. They made them the voice that made on the voice they made them the voice of the robot does he ever see the killing the sacred deer. Yeah I was a good. It's real fucked up. Okay here's the thing the lobster his least fuck that movie. Lots of really good. But that ending though lobsters lobsters grain ends on a real weird note. Yeah Real Bang or go slant the most is going to produce Gothard. Wow Gothard gothic western the Hawk Line Monster Okay. I'm really excited. I Love Western's I love him now. The hotline monster is a movie that has been trying to be made and I'm not exaggerating for literal decades allow But here's a Terry Gilliam movie. But Don Quixote The man who killed La Mancha. Yes that's been made. Yeah but they tried to make it for like forty years. Yeah yeah I know but it's been made but also is not great from what I've heard we'll never see it because the rights to that movie. Malonga the Mela Mancha maybe we know. I don't know the man who killed Don Quixote the men the the assassination of Don Quixote by the coward. Robert Ford. The man who killed them quixote and mm-hmm will never see because the rights. I think a billion a millionaire Spain says owns the rights great. Let Me Finish this headline the synopsis. So so The hotline monster. The synopsis to Hero gunslingers her hired by a young girl to kill the monsters. That live in ice caves under her house. What's that sounds great? This movie has been in hiatus in some type of production four decades. This this is one of those projects that that's going around for decades several attempts to get made Allah. Hal Ash be almost got down with. Jack Nicholson doesn't Offman off man. Jeff and Beau bridges replaced them and it fell through than timber and tried to get done with Clint Eastwood. But that didn't work out either incredible. So this movie's been around. This is so weird to me that only you know it's a thing that only insiders would know movies that disco around that around the production circuit the hawk. Line Monster. Apparently doesn't WanNa get made but maybe land the most is the the guy to get it done. I feel like considering made like hounds tooth killing sacred here. He makes movies that have no reason to exist so I feel like he's probably the the person to get to make this. That's pretty cool. It'd be that game one day I I duNNO I. I have a ton of faith in him. I haven't seen a movie of his that I dislike. Oh I think that he's like a one of the most paramount artists working today. I I will not say that. I recommend his movies. A whole cloth because much lobster. The lobsters his most feel-good movie. It's still really fucked up safe. Feel good yeah kind of feel good. It's an Anti Romance Romance. Yeah it's funnest movie. UK But he makes some real bummer. He's not afraid to make you feel that. Oh my God I just remember number one scene. Yeah all right well before they're crying he's really not afraid to make you feel bad. Health makes me feel like fucking Shit. He's he's he's really not afraid to make you feel bad which is good in a hardest. I guess yeah I mean if you feel something that means you removed yes indeed need so. Let's look forward to the hawk. Line Monster Although just because that headline was said doesn't mean anything Another headline was a came up this past week that WBZ's TYCO teeny directed. Akira project has now been officially removed from the reproduction schedule. Good don't make. Akira probably don't make a movie. That's basically perfect. Just shouldn't be done and that as much as I like Taylor td. I don't know if he could. I don't know what he would do with it. I would be fascinated because he does seem like someone someone who has a a healthy disdain for the idea of being overly slavish to source material so it'd be fascinated to know what he'd do but I don't necessarily I wanna see it for Kennedy. Got That with chronicle. I also know who should be. I know who should star in the hawk. Line Monster Oh the two going Simpson Orlando. Yeah Matthew Younger Care Anyway. Gratitude magnitude Burg McConnell as the younger on hey is gunslinger the number one number two matthew mcconaughey I want the Mikan the Matthew mcconnahey Hey and dark matthew mcconaughey no hear me I want I wanted her roic and then like mud lake like rust cold true detective Matthew mcconaughey I'm one hundred percent serious about this is how I give you that casting but only if the good McConnell says like all right all right in the bad macaca goes on the third one I arrived alright okay very good Eh. Because he's no he's not not fun now he's not fun. This would be the Jack and Jill of messy mccown is curry on. We make the Hawk like monster. A Commentary Matthew mcconnahey career starring Matthew mcconaughey twice so is the good one like the Matthew mcconnahey from failure failure to launch or is he the Matthew mcconaughey from like Dallas Dallas Buyers Club. I'd say somewhere between the two. I think Matthew mcconaughey is looking organised. Good Person In him somewhere Matthew mcconaughey hey from we are Marshall absolutely all right and then you have like rust call. Matthew mcconnahey was is not fun. He drives a Lincoln. Dan is a flat circle. Time to kill some ass monsters ever read the short story the Yellow Hello King Kazan. That's what I think we're dealing with here. What if I don't think he ever said that? No one. Here's the thing. No no one ever made reference the young ensure detective actually read the Yellow King. And if they did they'd be like Oh the short story Kinda Sucks Car Cosa you want to end the episode road. We should not before we make the announcement. We are absolutely going to do a best worse. Twenty nineteen unfortunately. We're going to record it before this episode goes live so there's nothing you can do I did some remedial some little basic post asking for categories on our social media. We got some response. What we're GONNA do? We need to have this conversation. Medved if I'm going GONNA have an on air prepare video game movie. Moving television show on television. The rest is kind of like up to the win. Because you ten. Okay okay. I already know my three. Don't say now okay number one so yeah look look for the best worse. It'll come out next week week even though we're recording this week and that's going to wrap up twenty nineteen for us here zero credits. Because we're on a no. He just went another holiday. Hey another one because who do you go see her family we gotta go to different places aces in the south. Yeah we have to go back. We have to go back Kate Island. We know much like everything else. In life the episodes already been recorded. You could do nothing about it but wait for the end and to that end. Let's do some social media plugged since you added last episode. I added this one. which reads you the social media if you want to reach out to us and and tweet about how? You're disappointed that you can't submit a category for best worst you can do so at twitter dot com at Z. C. P. C. W. H. J. and John. What does that stand for my best movie of Twenty nine thousand nine coming in at number one is of course gonNA be at right? It stands for zero credit..

"dallas dallas buyers club" Discussed on WGN Radio

"Miles an hour. It's thirty eight at Chicago's lakefront. I'm Vic Vaughn in the WGN radio newsroom, and he's sort of stories that matter on seven twenty. WGN? Welcome back. Everybody, nick. Julia here. This is killing me, Dan. They're showing a fan reactions at sports bars to the to the field goal attempt from last night. I I don't even. I can't. I mean, I can't even you know, you should see these. I mean, there's grown men crying. Watching the watching it. I can't I can't believe the game ended like that. I mean, you know, what I mean? And it really happened, by the way, folks, it wasn't a nightmare that that really happened last night. And I'm sure I'm sure you know, here's what you're going to want to do and a few hours. You know, you're gonna want to make sure you tune in when Dan Hamptons on because. Reaction what he's gonna say. Cochran about about that. I mean, it just it was the worst. That's the worst. It's absolutely the worst that Nick the Philadelphia Eagles website. Yeah. Has an article titled the double link. Oh, man. Yeah. Here's here's the other thing. Have you now, obviously, it's to pay might be painful for a lot of really hardcore bear fans to watch the field goal attempt as it's being replayed nine thousand times on the TV today. But if you're gonna watch the replay watch Staley. The bear mascot and his reaction. Because it's it's it's pretty amazing. If you if you. Mary Mary, you shaking your head. Or did you see the first thing? I saw him tipple. Oh my God. It's the it's just and he just collapses like Staley. It's it's so painful, though, I mean, did you watch the game? Oh, of course, came I never been so depressed. It's just I mean, I can't even it. So funny how people react differently. What my one son in Madison got up and started vacuuming the entire. A few so frustrated. My other son did not speak did not speak. He goes on leaving any left the house girlfriends, I go what he was gone. And I'm like, I'm leaving. That's it. I can't I'm leaving. He just left. I was. Heartbreaking. Yeah. No. It's it's not like people who listened regularly know that I'm not like the biggest football fan, you know, and I follow casually. But my God, I can't even imagine. You know, I can't even I've sat on the couch has no there's no way that just happened. My first thought was Cody Parke's parents in general, but his parents like oh my God. It's the worst of the worst just the worst. Oh, I did get a CBS alert on my phone this morning that said that somebody on the eagles was claiming they tipped it. Oh is that right? I don't know Alanthea's, Dave. And we'll have to ask Dave. I'm sure that I'm sure you will be discussing this the game last night throughout the morning, especially and I can't I can't stand Kaufman is going to be beside himself. God and Hamptons gonna go nuts. Oh, boy, I didn't hear the the the the show yesterday after the game. Did anybody listen to the to the to the bears while the Golden Globes came right on the switch? Switch degrees in our minds that it was like, oh, well, speaking of the Golden Globes, we got the movie side here to talk about the the winners. So your best drama film went to bohemian rhapsody, which I just chose this morning as the worst movie of two thousand eighteen. For those of you who by the way, we are going to have the podcast available of Colin, and Eric, and I we did our full-on tribute and salute to to two thousand eighteen with the best movies of the year. The worst movies of the year a bunch of subcategories, and I chose bohemian rhapsody is the worst film of of two thousand eighteen and they gave it the Golden Globe. In listen to the other listen to the other competition here. Black Panther black klansman if Beale street could talk in a star is born and they chose bohemian rhapsody. Actor in a drama went to ram Malik with Bohemia for bohemian rhapsody, which I I don't think he's gonna come as any surprise. I mean, I know a lot of people were rooting for Bradley Cooper for a star is born. But I don't really I think ram Alec is to. I think he's gonna steamrolls way to get an Oscar. I think he's actually gonna win the Oscar. And again, the only the only good thing in that movie is Ramya Malik actress in a drama film. People were surprised Glenn Close one for the wife. I think a lot of people were thinking lady Gaga was going to was going to get it. You know, a lot of people are buzzing about Melissa McCarthy's performance, it can you can you ever forgive me. And she's great and Nicole Kidman completely changed her her whole appearance for destroyer, which is really dark and twisted kind of a movie. So maybe that's why they didn't get it. But a Glenn Close who was a class act, and and one of the best actresses in the world, and is really really good in the wife. So musical or comedy film went to green book, which I was very happy about not a lot of people are seeing that movie. And I just I love that movie. I love it. So green book got the comedy actor in a comedy went to Christian bale advice, and he thanked I don't know if you heard about this he thanked Satan for inspiring him to play ditching. I would have gone with Vigo Mortenson though in ingred book. He didn't get it. Actress in a musical comedy to Libya Coleman for the favorite, which is a great a great performance. Supporting actor in a in a film went to Mahershala Ali for green book, another great choice. He's he's Vigo are so good in that movie. The scenes between the two of them are are some of my favorite scenes in movies this entire year. They're just so good to watch those two guys work together is just like magic. It's just fantastic. And he's a terrific actor, you know, he's in the new season of true detective, and the buzz is really gets much better than the for the for the second season. I didn't hate the second season. I know a lot of people hated the second season. It's just that the first season was so unbelievable. I mean, you watched your detected and you yes, I did I season. I mean, come on, man. It's one of the greatest thing that's ever been on TV share. And that was the McConnell sense at that. That was he was head on that was way into it that that point everything was right after Dallas Dallas buyers club. Done like five movies enroll that we're all really really good. And then, you know, true detective comes along. But yes, he's in. He's the star of the new detective, and and I think that starts Sunday or I know it soon. Because they're advertising like crazy on TV, supporting actress and film went to Regina king for if Beale street could talk. And Emma stone and Rachel vice were both nominated for the favorite. So they may be they cancel each other out because I think they're both great in it. Clervoy was nominated for. I man I love clarify. I love her. For director a movie, I mean, this is so corrosion for Roma. I mean, what what are we talking about here? What are we what are you? Crazy. What who else is gonna win that? Foreign language film went to Roma. The screenplay went to this is really amazing. I'm I'm really really surprised by this and went to green book green book one screenplay. Which is kind of amazing to me, but considering that Roma was nominated in that category. I mean, Li Roma the favourite if Beale street could talk and vice where the other nominees that was a strong category except for vice which is terrible. Original song went to shallow from stars born, which is no no surprise. Although that's the only award than a star is born one last night. And I think a lot of people were thinking that it would do much better than that. I mean, the the the original song. I mean, it's it's gonna win the Oscar for original song. I mean shallow is gonna win. There's no question. It's just weird to see how that was the only thing it got that it that he took home. For original score. The winner was Justin Herbert's for her. It's for I man, which is an extraordinary score. And then animated film went to Spiderman into the spider verse. So there you go. So the big the big winner. Of course, was Roma and deservedly so and bohemian rhapsody there one one dramatic film. I still can't believe that Roma wasn't even nominated. Oh, do you know what I think there's a rule in with the Golden Globes if it's a foreign film? It can't be nominated. Yeah. Because otherwise it would want. I'm making a bold prediction. I don't even know what the nominees are going to be. But I think we're almost going to win best picture and best foreign film at the Academy Awards and Afonso Coronas gonna win best director again. Because it's an extraordinary movie. I mean, if you get a chance it's on it's on Netflix. I mean, it was all three of us this morning, Colin Eric and myself all chose Roma's the best film of two thousand eighteen like by kind of a landslide. And there were a lot of good movies that came out it'd be my second favorite movie, the years hereditary, and that's I adored that movie. But this is just a work of art romo's. Just it's it's you know. If you if you can't get out to the music box to see it because it's playing at the music box this week, you check music box website. It's playing seventy millimeter at the music box. And that's the way to see the movie that is absolutely the way to see the movie. So if you can get out to the music box to see it. I highly encourage it if you can't it's it's it's on Netflix. And it is it's an astonishing piece of work, and that's Alphonso Coronas Roma but bohemian rhapsody one. Best drama. All right..
