Philadelphia abortion advocates commend Supreme Court ruling; pro-life supporters say it’s ‘sad day for women’
"The Supreme Court is expected to hand down Mohr decisions today, and we're still waiting on a decision that could determine whether President Trump has to turn over his tax returns and other financial documents to Congress. Yesterday, the court delivered a major victory for abortion rights advocates. In a 5 to 4 ruling, the court struck down a Louisiana law that could have shut down nearly every abortion clinic in that state. CBS News correspondent Jan Crawford tells us that many were surprised to see Chief Justice John Roberts cast. The deciding vote heavily in Pittman's Hope Medical Group for women had argued that Louisiana law, which required doctors to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals, was an impossible burden. The justices agreed, with conservative Chief Justice John Roberts again casting the deciding vote with liberals to strike down the law. It was the first time in Roberts's career, he has voted against an abortion restriction. Now, Roberts wrote his own opinion that the case is too similar to a case out of Texas that the court denied that the court decided four years ago. All this ruling was a relief to abortion rights advocates in the Philly area and a disappointment to pro life groups. W's Pat Lowe reports. Both sides intend to continue pressing their case is so freaky of the women's law projects as the Louisiana case was, as the decision pointed out word for word, the same as the Texas case struck down four years ago. So the decision wasn't exactly a surprise. But with a more conservative majority on the high court, it was not a certainty. That's why we're so relieved and glad that the opinion came out the way it did. Unheard of southeastern Pennsylvania President Dale Steinberg says she was only mildly surprised the chief justice was the deciding vote. He's been making some reasonable decisions, and this was one of them. The Pennsylvania Pro Life Federation disagrees. They cite dissenting Justice Clarence Thomas's view that Louisiana's law was perfectly legitimate and call it a sad day for women who deserve the best possible medical care. Pennsylvania has not attempted to require admitting privileges for doctors performing abortions. But it has imposed other rules that Richie says make it difficult for new clinics to open even its neighboring states imposed restrictions. That may push women to travel here for the procedure. We have got a long way to go before we reach anything remotely close. Reproductive justice Pat

Noose found in Bubba Wallace's garage stall, NASCAR says
"Now? Mike Greenberg Bristol with you this morning. And as I said right off the top of the show, I would have loved to have started with any of those today, and we certainly will get to the mall, but we begin with an absolutely despicable story coming from the world of NASCAR. In this developing story, a noose was found in bubba Wallace's. Stall at the NASCAR race in Talladega Alabama yesterday less than two weeks after Wallace led efforts to push NASCAR to ban the confederate flag NASCAR announced the news last night well after the race had been postponed due to inclement weather, and said it was launching an immediate investigation here. was there statement late this afternoon? Nascar was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of the forty three eighteen. We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough. How seriously we take this heinous act! We have launched an immediate investigation and we'll do everything we can to identify the persons responsible and eliminate them from the sport. As we have stated unequivocally, there is no place for racism and NASCAR, and this act only strengthens our resolve to make the sport open and welcoming to all while himself tweeted a statement last night, which read in. In part today's despicable act of racism and hatred leaves me incredibly saddened, and serves as a painful reminder of how much further we have to go as a society and how persistent we must be in the fight against racism. As my mother told me today, they are just trying to scare you. This will not break me. I will not give enor- rely back down. I will continue to proudly stand for what I believe. In Allah Marty Smith is covering this for us in the scene in Talladega. He joined us an hour ago. The News in Bubbas garage stall was actually seen by a member of his team. Darrell Bubba never saw it. He never saw it personally and win. That team members saw it. He alerted NASCAR. And Nascar immediately had a meeting of its senior executive staff, and they made the decision that they were going to remove this person from the sport as quickly and rapidly as possible. This was not a situation where a fan might have meandered in on this because there were no fans in the garage. So what you're looking at is you're looking at team members. You're looking at officials. You're looking at potential security. You're looking at maybe cleaning personnel that have access to these garage areas. Again! That was Marty Smith with US earlier. Lebron James among many who posted messages about this. He tweeted sickening Wallace, my brother! No, you don't stand alone I'm right here with you as well as every other athlete, I just want to continue to say how proud I am of you for continuing to take a stand for change here in America and sports at Nascar. I salute you as well. Well Sprint Cup driver Michael McDowell added. God help us the level of evil. It takes to do something like this is disgusting. This is enraging and heartbreaking all at the same time Dale. EARNHARDT Jr. tweeted simply a hope of a wins it tomorrow again. The race will be run today. It was delayed by weather yesterday, and as I bring Steven A. and Marcus into the conversation here I'll. Repeat that the area in which this was discovered, there were cameras all over it should be. Relatively easy investigation for the NASCAR officials to conduct, and we are standing by for any information live from Talladega Marty Smith will bring us anything as soon as there is any further news with that thought in mind, Stephen. We've not yet had a chance to say good morning to you I. I just want to give you the floor here. What are your feelings and thoughts as we see this story developed from last night? Well I. Mean I think that for me? Personally I'm a little bit different than the kind of sentiments that have been expressed by a lot of people, because obviously you find this reprehensible and disgusting, and it's incredibly sad, and we get all of that but there's a forgive the the figurative smirk that might end up covering my face or draping my face because to me. Me It's just folks displaying the ignorance, and the more they put it on display, the more it enlightens a lot of people in White. America about what Black America has been telling them about for so many years decades spanning centuries for crying out loud. This is not new. This is something that we've known existed for all time. This is something we know we'll continue to exist. And there is no way around it and so this there comes a point in time where you have to accept that reality one of the things that I would encourage everybody to go watch. If you get an opportunity, you can go on Netflix. You can watch that documentary thirteen by EVA do vernay along with others, sensational job of address mass incarceration in the United States, of America one of the things they highlighted. Is that under the Nixon? Administration where you're literally talking about you know White folks that are hippies and you associate them with marijuana and you associate black. Black folks with crack cocaine, and as a result of that will ultimately galvanize folks in your favor, because they'd be scared to death, and you'd be hearing words like law and order ad, nauseam that was in the sixties for crying out loud in two thousand and twenty, and we're hearing the same thing now. You just have to open your eyes. You have to pay attention to the parallels you have to. You have to pay attention to the correspondence. That's taking place right before your very eyes throughout history, we have had people that have been adroit at light laying low. Controlling the narrative, manipulating the narrative switching things to their favor, all in an effort to maintain or to retain power. It's something to kind of thing that has been taking place in. Usually they've been incredibly skilled at remaining in the dark and saying it's then it's not us, it's them. It's not us well guess what are coming to light more and more in this day and age I find that a cause for celebration, not a 'cause. You know to be saddened by anything. The I find these to be. Beautiful tops as difficult as it may be the fact that I nation appears to be becoming more enlightened than ever before and ultimately as a result. We're coming together. I find that to be a huge plus not a minus. If the ignorance has to show itself, and if the ignore, it has to showcase themselves in order for this to happen coming out of the dock to me. That's of course was celebration Marcus. Stephen. That's what I alluded to earlier man just come on out. Show us who you are, so we know how to deal with you and everybody. That's four. Right knows how to deal with you. Look listen, this is. There has been. We've been having this conversation for a long time. I mean we had this conversation we had. This conversation went capped kneeled about police brutality. We talked about racing all of them and man you. You look if you look around and social. There were people literally Oh twitter last night. Say A BUBBLE! Did this for attention? What what are you talking about like? It's not. It's not unfathomable that someone could do that. We sold Jesse's me. Make reference to that because people can conjure up things to create narratives to make people overreact. That's why saying earlier. Estimate I'm not doing this emotional. Rollercoaster I'm getting off of it right like I'm nuts and bolts to was going on. There is progress that needs to be made in this country I'm focusing on that progress that needs to be made. That's what bubble wireless is focused in on a by making his statements in Nascar. That's a lot of athletes are focused on a lot of people in society in general of focused on making sure that we draw a line between racist people and people that one good for everybody. That's the bottom line. Look for as much as this is egregious and the things that have transpired for low type. I grew up in the south light. It's not. An uncommon for me to see racist people are know what it looks like or even even be surprised or shocked about certain things that tend to happen. The bottom line is this. I'm often emotional roller coaster like if you racist just be that come out publicly and be that enlist separate that and you be a part of the minority port society that we want to get to, and we think we already are at so all of that being said I'm with Steve Day like in this bringing a lot of people to the light, and the hateful ones are fighting their battle because they see slipping away. Score you're not GonNa hear me say this very very often, but I wanNA give major major kudos to a Lotta. White folks out there in America because if it wasn't for them, protesting and marching with black individuals if it wasn't for them, you know engaging in the kind of of of you know resistance to whatever level of oppression we as black people have been feeling this nation I. Don't think some of these folks will. will be coming out I. mean listen the back. In the day. They used to wear the sheets and used to cover the identity and their faces that we didn't know who the hell they were by virtue of that now. Some black people, a lot of black people will tell you they exist in corporate America. They could be the very people that you're working for the very people that you're talking to I happen to be. Be Blessed we happen to be blessed to not certainly not have that at this company is because we've seen the actions on the part of our executives. And what have you over continuous basis? Elevated level of sensitivity that this place has shown throughout the years deserves to be commended. There's always work to do. There is no perfect place. Make no about it, but I'm incredibly proud to be a part of the Walt Disney and And specifically the ESPN family in that regard having set all of that I'm in the minority, because the reality is vast people, there's a vast number of people of African. American descent in the United States of America that feel subjugated I wouldn't go so far as to say enslaved, but feel subjugated by bosses in corporate America people that say all the right things when the cameras are rolling, but behind the scenes they engage. Eight your and the conduct. Subjugation that they devote their voiceless. They don't have a voice in that regard, green. Marcus knows exactly what I'm talking about. And so because of that because of these times that we're living, what we're seeing is a populous within the United States of America that sees the dramatic shift, and there's so appalled, and and put and taken aback by what they see transpiring that they can't hide their vitriol. They're coming out of the dock because they're being forced out of the dog. We as black people. People have to appreciate the fact that couldn't happen without a vast number of white individuals in our society standing with us and saying you know what we see where the hell you coming from. If we didn't see it before we see it now, and we're with you, so you have that other segment of the population saying wait a minute we lose some of our own here. Some of our own alternative guests and the poor in this noxious. We gotTA speak up and as a result. Of the dock again I find that a cause for celebration doesn't bother me at all. If we wore, we wore. Let's get it on. I liked that. I want to leave it there for the moment again. Marty Smith is standing by Talladega. If there is any further information on the investigation, we will have it for you immediately, meanwhile, Steven as going to stay with us here for a few more minutes, and we'll get some football conversation as we go his feelings about the Dallas, cowboys have been well documented. This should be a very big day in Dallas. We will talk about it and why and then Lebron and other NBA players have until Wednesday to decide whether or not they're going to play. What should we expect? Woge will answer that question as we continue this out. GET THEM ON ESPN. GEICO. GETS YOU ACCESS TO LICENSED AGENTS? Twenty four

Brewing with Fire: Carillon Brewing Company
"We also of course had to talk about the brewery itself which as I mentioned at its heart is one giant fire. This multi story brick fireplace essentially takes up one entire side of the Carillon brewing building in full view of the rest of the restaurant. Now if you're having trouble imagining that you're gonNA want to check out some of the pictures we put up on our website at the feast podcast Dot Org to appreciate an full. But if you haven't had a chance to check them out yet imagine a giant multistorey brick fireplace with a giant fire at the bottom level and yet another fire going on up top now. Needless to say this giant fireplace needs constant attention. A fire essentially has to be going at all times to keep the operational and well. It's a fulltime job so this is kind of crazy but we basically we opened up in August of two thousand fourteen As part of just a bigger living history exhibit for the larger part of Carolina's horrible parks. We had not talked about the eighteen fifties Dayton other areas of the park. So that was one of the reasons. Why chose the team fifty to replicate here in the brewery and the other reason was that we hadn't told the story of German immigration and Dayton. It's kind of a changing city in the eighteen fifties. We had new transportation routes that were opening up the Miami Erie Canal which runs right through. Caroline Historica Parker would have run through there when it was active was at its height by the fifties in Dayton In the later fifties the railroad finally came into town. So you start to see industrialization coming into this region Prior to that beer was being gruden has been done thousand years but beer wasn't being made on a commercial scale in the city of Dayton Until the eighteen fifties prior to that most of the beer is being home the housewife just a chore like any other and a essentially as safer source of hydration than the drinking water was often as a source of nutrition categorically Sosa Nutrition and the finished products is actually a fairly sterile product. Once it's produced that actually nothing really wants to live in it that's going to harm said so severe is important but by the eighteen fifties you start to see these purpose built industrial commercial brewing setups. coming up and so we replicated this building off of those early gravity fed. Industrial Brewers So what we're standing in is our brew house right now which relocated giant three tiered brick fireplace that. Actually it's not just one single heat source that has four different fire boxes free of which he parts of the brewing process one of which is a wood fired oven that we do our spangler and sour dough bread baking and about three or four days a week so dan is up there right now trying to get the fire going so we can go upstairs law. Show you everything. Here gets fermented in American White Oak barrels a little unique compared to a modern brewery which is using stainless steel and our pre. Kettles are copper. In Ohio by company called The Sun. So we had to have commissioned. You have three kettles up here kind of breaking down. The brewing process where essentially heating up water taking malted grain screens that have been sprouted and then dried trying to get the starches in the enzyme generated that can break down starch into sugar. By the malting process. We take those grains mill them in a stone mill here on site Bring them up to the top of the fireplace and we take our hot water. Mix It with the grains steep them for about an hour break those starches inside the grains this complex sugars down into simple sugars and then we'll translate into a third kettle which is directly heated by fire. That will be our boil pedal so once we start boiling. The words is liquid. That will become beer. That sugary liquid from the grain We add hops to it For most recipes we can add other ingredients like in our case coriander AOL that has coriander seed and Chili pepper. we do a squash. Butternut squash added to it so it can do a lot of different things in the boyle in terms of getting flavor into the beer. Of course boiling is what you're safely drink in water once we're done with that will cool the liquid down through a big cooling coil and then we'll ultimately end up in our barrels or or liberal. So it's a big process but we have these three giant copper kettle ones. One hundred gallons are Mash Tun. Excuse me is not directly heated but it is surrounded by so it's insulated so it can uphold that heat during the mash brought us and then our boil. Kettles his wealth can ask questions. You mentioned that it's handling rain. Who GETS THE QUARTERBACK? So that's a little bit in the beginning for the first about three years. We did have a mill that it's kind of funny it was a it was a steel roller mill which is a little bit more modern but housed in a kind of a historic looking setup and that was hand cranked so we actually were hanged cranking one hundred fifty pounds of grain every day for brewing process. That's like an intern. Yes exactly so volunteers. So there's three of us they get paid to do this full-time and we have about twelve men and women who actually come in and help us grew so those on tears are awesome and they help us do a lot of that kind of grunt work but we have since installed a stone mill in here with a little bit more appropriate to the eighteen fifties however that stone mill was designed to be hand cranked. We handmade the gears actually our presidency. Oh built that. He's a pretty skilled. Woodworker and with the gearing ratio. We found that the momentum of those large stones would actually kept the crank arm flailing on its own for about fifteen minutes so a little bit unsafe to you so right now we have a stone mill. That's unfortunately powered by electricity. It's kind of a mishmash so every once in a while we have to kind of put a little bit more modern twist on things just to keep things a little bit safer. But we'll hall up about anywhere between one hundred and a hundred and fifty pounds for per batch and we're a two barrel system so we we make about all things said and done about forty five gallons at finish beer of one batch so and I mean as far as your your other ingredients I mean hops obviously classic ingredient. Where are you sourcing Your House? So we get them from all over unfortunately still moat. The majority of hops are used for the brewing industry in America on the West Coast. So you're Valley Lamb valley places like that over in Oregon Washington and just interested you know from the nineteenth century. Perspective brewers who were working in Ohio Dayton in eighteen fifty would. They've been getting hops from Ohio. Where having from Wisconsin or west coast right so they were growing hops in Ohio for sure so in the eighteen fifties. It was kind of the opposite from now. We'll get them from. The West does in the fifties New York. State UPSTATE NEW YORK. Kind of in the cooper sound area was one of the biggest hop growing region for America Wisconsin but eating sixties with a huge hop growing regions. Ohio state have a significant hop culture? Well brewers would have been getting locally if they could but you also like you talked about earlier with the industrialization of brewing because of those transportation routes he could get hops from all over the place. A lot of brewers were importing hops from Europe from Germany and England. So can apprised tops. Like Hallertau in east can buildings Kim from overseas and so they would ship them and they would bring him in to those transportation route so they could get them smaller. So I mean there's still a little is brought to a certain extent. And then you know your your coriander seed and then you mentioned butternut squash. She kind of what brought you to those ingredients for the historical inspired. Imagine yet definitely so we spent about a year doing research prior to this facility being open just to figure out what we should be brewing. How To brew it? What equipment we needed but we need to build all those things and so we were talking about the year eighteen fifty here which is kind of the very beginning of industrialization for brewing in Dayton. We also have one foot in that early industrial style which would have been a little bit beers that were more used to today or credit more. Commercial Beers. Don't have all those crazy ingredients in them and then one flight back in the eighteen thirties housewife brewing methods. So we find a lot of these recipes. Coriander Ale came from A receipt book Recipe Book from the Eighteen Thirties so it was published in Cincinnati Ohio and it was basically a manual for how to raise a family. Todd receives proper seats for the Husband Minute Housewife Cincinnati. There's a chapter of the book of Brewing Essential part of raising a family and at that time in the eighteen thirties and found listed under the brewery section. Another way to make Ale so there wasn't even a name for it but it just described taking a Bushel of grain and a certain amount of water. Heating it up boiling it to a color which is kind of a funny Whatever that means so that's going to buffer interpretation with that meant back and then a culture coriander seed in Canada Seemed like exotic ingredients. And I think a lot of people think on the frontier wherever people just didn't have anything but then by the eighteen thirties they had the canal system so they could bring in pretty much anything. They want to get so coriander would have been available. They would have been growing slot tro in the and their gardens as well so they could have collected their own grain or seed so Chili Pepper capsicum Chili peppers. So they were bringing those eventually growing them too. So I imagine veterans Washer be something similar like right exactly or or even in the middle of winter. If you didn't have enough grain on hand sometimes these pumpkins. Soi shells even potato or beat. Beer would be dale here as well In January those representative of Beers that you were doing when you run out of grain so you're searching for other starchy from animal sources. And if you had grown wash harvested in the fall you keeping you root cellar and you can take it out and cut up in

"Exactly how you can do that helps. Greatly helps through this show and I always appreciate the support right so I did ten. Good items I got to say Mitt developed one was kind of weak but it was one of the ones. I just Kinda thought no pun to you here bellum. But any rate great so the last but not least one. I think this is the most exciting one and this is why. I've been trumpeting them for a while. It's actually find a way voices grows massively find a way. Voices is an audio book Doc Distribution Platform. They're actually an aggregate publisher. That goes out to forty one different avenues. And this includes those big three that distributes to including shooting audible and Amazon and Apple. And here's the cool. Thing is the apple distribution agreement is actually better than AC axe instead of getting getting twenty five percent through acs you get forty five percent royalty. It's a twenty percent bump and things and just think that's how much you Get from retail on a twenty five percent. If you're doing a say for instance a fifty fifty royalties split. You're only going to get twenty percent of that twenty five percent and if we've got full rights you'll get forty percent of that twenty five percent go through find away voices you can get eighty percent. That's right eighty percent of forty forty five percent. Let me break it down for you finally voices you're GonNa make more money through for Apple ibooks I'm going to go with that option. Every single time and finally the voice is started adding just dozens of platforms on their distribution platform. I actually visited their headquarters back in September. Just before my birthday and they were so awesome. They took me around the city And they have big plans. That's all I can say I. Can't you know indulge. I can't divulge indulge. I'm good with words today. I'm not going to divulge exactly what they shared with me but there are some really really cool things coming out for find a way voices on. There's good reason why I'm going doing so bullish on him because I see some great potential that's going to really create some disruption here in the self publishing industry and especially over into audiobooks. Most importantly all righty so those were the ten items I wanted to kind of cover today. I do have a little bit of a small ask. If you don't mind actually subscribe or follow me on your preferred podcast platform and leave a review. You know actually said the last three frigging weeks that I was GonNa talk about some of the reviews that were left. And I'm going to go ahead Ed and I'm GonNa read one of the reviews and I'll save another one for the very next week and This actually comes from apple podcasts. Actually all of them come from apple podcast so far been following you on Youtube for some time. Glad you're spreading the INFO on podcast format comes from PV. So glad you're doing a podcast. Well thank you very much. TVP I appreciate it. Big Shout out to you I do appreciate the support. I'll read another review coming into the next week. So if you WANNA be featured by all means go ahead and lever of you and you can leave it on any of these platforms and it comes right over here to my inbox and I can actually see that so as we start to wrap up two thousand nineteen again just a gentle reminder. I'M GONNA be taking two week break from podcasting but rest assured I'm going to be back on it I I twenty twenty and it's going to be an amazing easing here. It's going to be amazing decade ahead of us and hope that you join me for the ride and if you have been writing with me either just now or you've been doing it for the past few years so wanna I wanna say thank you. I appreciate that it's crazy to think that I'm just as in the author that decided to go ahead start sharing enthusiasm for self publishing and some of you decided decided to kind of come along with me for the ride so big thank you to you. I'm leaving this weird dream but it's a dream I never imagined and I'm just glad that you are with with me. So in the meantime this has been self publishing. Dale.

"And sometimes those C, P, C was, so and Amazon wouldn't even spend that full dollar. It was insane. I would have maybe nine cents and get a you know, a conversion on that one and immediately profit easily like four five bucks per sale. So Amazon advertising. And by the way, got full video series based on that with Markelle OT. No, he gave some awesome value tip number three, conferences, and networking events. Get out of your writing cave and get out into the world. And start to talk to people. I know video chattings great. That's one of the ways I like to kind of not have to leave my house, but every now and then you have to step outside, you come presumption and start to get to know other people because it's the connection sometimes that really builds the bridge to a larger audience, I can't tell you how many opportunities I've afforded myself because I've been willing to step outside my comfort zone and go to these conferences, and goldies network meetings. And there are times or I don't want to do it. I I'm just like my wife and I will be complete wallflowers, just like, oh, I don't really feel like going to talk and anybody, and then eventually what ends up happening someone comes over and talks to us. And we strike a conversation, you start to warm up to the occasion, and you can meet other people that are either a related in your industry or be that might have some type of connection to someone else within your industry in if you can learn who they are, and really get to know. No them and start to build that relationship with them. They're going to be clamoring and just excited to learn more about who you are as in India third. What you do in your specific brand bit fiction or nonfiction. I just I can't say enough great things about conferencing, and network events that it just seems like every single time after a conference. I see a huge explosion in sales, and this can even be anywhere from a simple as affiliate products to videos to books to everything. Because if you really take the time to get to know people and build that relationship and stay connected. The nice thing is it starts to grow. And if you do this consistently, and you keep going out to networking, and conferencing, events and you keep in contact with these people at value stacks, and before, you know it, it's just going to blow up big already. So next suggestion number four interviews. Okay. So you can do these ones in the convert to your home, and some of them, you can actually step outside your home. So as an example, interviews committee were for, like, say podcasts YouTube channels websites media appearances so much more. And I'll even toss and things like guest blog posts, even though that's not the traditional way of doing interviews. But nonetheless, you can kind of get the idea reach out to people within your industry within your particular niche. So if you're a fiction author that writes, where bear shape, Shifter romance, and there's the wear bear shape. Shifter romance podcast, you would it be who've you to actually get in touch with whoever is in charge that podcast, consume their content become part of their tribe, and part of their community, and then get in touch with them. And find out ways that you can give back to that community because I promise you, if you don't go right out the rip and go. How can it be on your podcast? I want to be on your podcast. I'm going to be awesome on your podcast. Most people are going to say, no, I'm good. I'm gonna pass on that. That's, that's just not my thing. I think that if you really, really try to be observed people, they're going to give back to you. So podcasts are great YouTube, channels, I can't tell you how many times at least unweakened basis that I get at least one to two different people getting a hold of me, want me to interview them on my YouTube channel or podcast. Now folks before you reach out to me for interviews. I'm not currently accepting any any interviews. I've just kind put that all on hiatus because I just split into many different directions. Obviously doing a podcast streaming into a Facebook group, things like that. But this gives you a great idea. And then, you know websites reach out to websites, some websites will actually do like a virtual interview, and they'll give you a formula, fill it out. And you can kind of put it in a couple of them allude my mind. I know I've done a few back probably about four years ago with my fitness brand. So chances are likely. If you look for the name Dale Roberts fitness in some capacity, you might find interview somewhere last, but not least last, but not least number five in Email list. Oh my gosh. There's so many people that think Email marketing is dead. I say, let them believe that because as they believe that you can be the one who has again an unfair advantage over them Email marketing doesn't have to be hard folks. I can send out an Email broadcast on any given week in as I deliver great value time. And again, and I'm not just going to reach into somebody's wallet. The beauty is you can make some money every single time. Okay. So I'll send out an Email broadcast and sure, I'll get a couple of unsubscribe 's sherve. I'll get a couple of cleaned bounces. You know, I'm hard bounces he's me, but for the most part, as long as I keep them opening and intrigue. And clicking on what I have to offer I can make about fifty to two hundred dollars per Email campaign. But you can't just go in and start beating people up for sales. What I recommend is if you do an Email list of some sort, do it like you would in communicating with the friend. So my best friend Harold, we've been knowing known each other since we were about thirteen years old. And with me being about forty two. I think we can confidently say that we're close buddies. I would never reach out to my buddy herald and go, bro, by my fitness book, like, yeah. I'll I'll get to. That would be his answer, or. No. You know, I'm not gonna you know, he'd be happy. It'd be make for an awkward situations, so rather than just beating up my friend. It's going to be a case of me at least being a value. Hey, man. How's it going? How's your mom and doing is your is your son, faring? Well, did he do good in his new job? What are your plans become an Columbus and things like that? Oh, hey, by the way, man, I just want to let you know, just released a fitness book. Did you get a chance to check it out yet you know if not over here on Amazon would love it. If you knew anybody, that would be into it just send them that link and that would really help me out, bro. Hey, thanks. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you that simple, folks, you see so much about Email marketing, where people are like this ninja tactics gonna sell you many books today stopped the ninja tactics right? Email marketing doesn't need to be Jedi mind tricks folks, it doesn't need to be super sexy. Yeah, we can segment audiences, and we can really break it down to the nitty gritty. But at the end of the day, there's human beings on the other side of that conversation, not just bringing Bank accounts thousand case, people would just willy nilly give you their number to the Bank account. So you can just take out cash be a human being you hear that you need to be a real person because on the other end of that conversation is another real person. And every now and then you might get some people that might check, you know, you're just trying to sell me on things. Okay. Take a step back analyze what you sent out figure out. Okay. We did not go wrong. And then sometimes you just gotta chalk it up to people or just having a bad day every now and then you just might hit them on a bad day. It is the reality, the situation a little bit of an extra tip. Your folks. Never call it an Email list to your Email subscribers. Join my Email list. No, no. Is that the same thing as you poop list? No. I don't think so you just made the list. No, I don't want to be on your list. But, but, you know, one really neat you ever go up to like club and you see the long line run outside of it. And there's a long line, people wanna be on the VIP list hall. Yeah. Who doesn't want to be on the VIP list? So I'd recommend that. If you've got an Email newsletter of some sort, which, by the way, there's another tactic is calling me Mel newsletter because it's a newsletter hopefully. Stay in touch with them. You're sending something out on a weekly basis fell them. Join my VIP newsletter today, and I'm gonna go ahead and shoot you something just free of charge just because and they're going to be like, heck. Yeah. Why not Dale said my favorite word for re and a VIP newsletter? That means I'm very important, and who doesn't wanna feel important alright. So that's about it between five models of video Amazon advertising, conferences and networking events, interviews and Email list those five avenues or just a good starting point. And I recommend that you just try to really go all in on one and stick with it. Don't do it for the next thirty days..

"Yeah. Are we're going to talk about Amazon and publishing wide. What exactly is publishing? Why before we go into things we here's some people's publishing. Why was that mean, what do you mean? Isn't it publishing? Why when you go Amazon, not necessarily that's just going in one particular avenue when you publish wide you're utilizing every resource and platform, you can't get your content into as many hands as possible. Some people make quite a living at it and other people try to bubbas line in. They don't do. So. Well, so. Can't we publish wide? Anyway, is there any kind of limitations were going to kind of suss that out because? Yeah, we can publish wide technically on e books print and audio books. But the latter will the first and the ladder of the three the exception is e books any books enrolled in the Katie p select program cannot be published. Why because you're doing an agreement with kindle direct publishing that says this will stay exclusive to your platform. So when you agree to that that ninety day period, your e book is locked in. And should you try to test your luck? And I know many authors of done this. They've tried to publish elsewhere. While still inside the kindle direct publishing program a slick program excuse me, and it was on discovers it. They have you know, some type of software out there. That's probably crawling the interwebs and looking out of the stores, and then checking the content and when they find that it's being published elsewhere despite being in an exclusive con. Attract they pull everything I know. Derek Murphy, actually, a great great guy contin create over on YouTube that actually shared some of his personal woes because he accidentally had opted into the Katie piece select program. Well, actually purposely did it, but there was another area that he'd had it published wide. And he thought it was delisted, but it wasn't delisted. So Amazon came in and was like, that's it you're out and they pulled Katy select from him. And I don't think he had hold off for about a year you'd have to look that up. Right. The other exception of exclusively is going to be a c x. And if you do the agreement of the forty percent royalty program than you're or -greeing to keep your audible content through audiobook creation exchange. Now, there's the twenty five percent model. I would say that if you ever want to go publish wide you may want to consider twenty five percent. In fact, there are other by the way, there's others inside the game. I get a lot of people that are outside the US or outside US UK, Canada and Ireland the distribution areas that say, okay, I can't set up an account with ACS. That's okay. You've got find a way Boyce's, and you also have authors Republic those other two can honor foreign account. So just kind of FYI off the side. But any rate with Brent you much, it's it's any persons game. You're allowed to publish white anywhere. I don't know of any exceptions to exclusively clause in any website, at least to my knowledge right off the top of my head. So for the sake of conversation inside this particular podcast. We're going to focus on the book, so who should publish wide as the real question because not everyone should there are some people that would do best to stay exclusive to Amazon Katie p for their e books, and there's others that would do even better for themselves if they went wide, so the people who. Want to reach a wider audience, should publish wide. Don't limit yourself to Katie p select I would say get if you wanna get in as many hands as possible. Don't limit yourself to Katie select now people who don't care about Katie select they see that they're like, I don't want my book being lent anybody and getting cents on the dollar four pages. Read in there's some people that really truly believe that Katy select is highway robbery. I I'm not going to disagree with them. I'm not going to agree with them. Because you know, it's got its pros and cons, and we're not gonna be discussing the pros and cons of Katie select right now, and then there's also the other a lot of people who don't get a substantial boost from Katie piece elect. So I always recommend to newbies in anyone that really doesn't have a berm grasp on the fundamentals, or at least making about one thousand dollars or more per month in this particular business. I would say that is not a substantial earning. So if you've got a book. On there. And no one's checking it out. There's no page reads. There's no point you staying exclusive or let's say that you do have in rolled and you're getting marginal page flips. And it's influencing the rank, but there's no sales coming in. Then you may want to pull it out Katy b select program and go wide,

"Or let's just jump right into things. So your books aren't selling what? What the heck Gibbs? Look, I got one finger point of board and three coming back because I actually have to go back from time to time and analyze why some of my books aren't performing because there's not going to be many times that you're gonna be able to put a book on the market, and it's going to continue to pull in evergreen traffic. It's going to continue to drive more revenue and set your business, and so many things we can talk about marketing promotion, but let's just get down to the Bundy lentils. We want to focus on what's going to make the biggest difference. But started out with the obvious choice. The cover this right here can make or break the success of your book, period. Now, there are some exceptions to the rule. There's some covers that are so frigging hit there. So Joe Joe, you kind of wonder what the Hecker people think? And when they go by this don't question. Those those are the unicorn to the business because quite frankly, there are millions of books being flooded onto the market within the course of the month and a bass majority of those ones that look hit do not draw a die. Time get your covered dial in I hate look. I get it. You're probably DIY till you die. So me too. But there are sometimes you gotta know what is inside you. We'll house on what is not inside your wheelhouse. So if you can't design covers might I recommend hire a professional just skip to the chase. Go get a professional you want recommendations, make sure you join the Facebook group that we have called self publishing books. Just search on up their answer three questions jump in there and get some recommendations from some people the next one. This is very very key. It's key to get discovered. Should title title makes all the difference? Now, let's say that you do get discovered. This is a couple of the biggest issues mistakes. I get every time. Someone says I don't understand why my book is not selling and then they send me their their book. And I say okay covers passable and then I look at their title. Capitalize words, folks. It is a title. You're supposed to capitalize the words in less. Your e e Cummings you need tidal get titles dialed in look professional because there's these subconscious factors working as the customers are browsing the marketplace and just one little thing. That's going to be off is enough for them the go while this is not worth looking at and they're just going to scroll on past. Here's the other one. Okay. The days of keyword stuffing. Folks are over stop cramming keywords into your title, in tears subtitle. NT your series name. I see this. And this is something that has been dispensed by quote, unquote. A would be Google grew from back inside the kindle publishing days, the kindle publishing gold rush. They he pretty much was telling people cram a bunch of keywords nonsensical. Just put it in their sheer discovered. More folks. Eight nine is becoming much more sophisticated and starting to discern the difference between a tasteful title and one that is just completely keyword stuff. You know, you're in. Trouble. And once again, I probably to blame on something like this as well. You know, you're in trouble. If you have for bringing lines for your title and your entire title of your book, I think luding title, subtitle and series name, your even in more trouble. If there's an ellipse sees on your stinking, title cat, kind of lip sees to who'd you got conflict. Bring it back a little bit dial in exactly what you're going to be putting into that a right next one ad copy. You could have the best calmer in the world. You can have that title that really grabbed someone's interest. But if you don't have the copy dialed in you are not going to get someone to part ways with their money. Sure. They're the exceptions to the rule to where some people see the covering. They said done or they got a recommendation. They said I'm just going to go ahead and grab it. The most part though, people are going to take a look at your actual book description, aka your ad copy key is folks less is more. Less is more. Now, I'm not telling you to do two sentences, nor am I telling you to do fifty lines of ad copy. Let's get realistic. You need to kind of get it to where you're sinked. And you're telling exactly what the customers can expect when they purchase your book. Here's the one. And actually there's three little areas. I'm gonna kinda hit on here. A good hook is what is going to really get someone compelled to hit that little read more hyperlink, and it'll drop it on down. And they can kind of see exactly okay. They'll read more get the good hook. There's too many people that are putting three sentences right out the rip you are immediately requiring the customers to do all the heavy lifting. Make it easy for them. Get it towards him bite sized chunks, otherwise they're gonna Pash up. There. Don't wanna make a hard on the customer. You wanna make it as easy as

"Your page. They're going to show the customers that are browsing your book, just those top three of the ten, but that's not the say that you're still not being pulled up for those particular categories when a customer searching it. So you may not be doing great in a I don't know a very competitive browse path or niche Bod, you're still gonna show up in that search. For that one. So it could be further down could be on the second third page could be let's say you're number twenty in the BS are or the bestseller rank for a given niche. So hopefully, you're staying with me here. So what happened to the categories? Did they really disappear technically no Amazon went through and just cleaned it up a little bit. It used to be laid out like this. You would have your book categorizing given category. But it went from niche, the sub niche to sub sub niche to you know, so on and so forth. So let's say for instance, I could be publishing a book that's on ABC workouts. It would be on. Let's say underneath the kindle store, and then health, fitness and dieting and then at home exercises. Sorry, that's probably not a browse path, and you know, Abba workouts, and then quick workouts. It. It just Hannah long very convoluted, you know, sentence, and it probably was Amazon thought was probably confusing the customers by having this like this because it's just a whole ton of words like someone just bombing the Dewey decimal system minus like all the numbers. They just put all the coward. Every go. There's help it dining now. Now, what they did was they grabbed a broad description of these browse pass. So it's not that they disappeared. It's just that the condensed these down now. But for everybody starts getting all up in arms. I what should I do? I've got my categories listed on this particular book. Do I need to get a whole Amazon. Well, most likely you won't have to if you've already got your book listed and giving categories and you're done all the ten browse pass or eight or the most that you could find relevant to your publication. Don't freak out. Just leave it. Go going forward, though, when you start to do your research for categories keep in mind, you're not. Gonna see the real long tail version of the categories in a more. These browse paths are more down to just a category. So they're making things simpler for the customer, and technically the authors and publishers out there now, I'm going to tell you that it's probably gonna be tough making the transition. It's not gonna be easy. No. This is going to be easy to be honest with you. And I know that I'm going to have to probably do a lot of research when I go into my next book and choose the categories that are most appropriate for that particular publication and a good friend of mine. Alex from keta lyrics actually, did a really good job in a video on his site about the change in categories. Now, he's going to reiterate probably some of the things I'm saying, but he goes a little bit more deeper in depth. And of course, you have that visual representation that you can take a look at. All you gotta do is head over to Dale links dot com slash categories. Again. That's Dale links dot com slash categories..

"We're going to be going on seven o'clock sharp. So definitely come. Join us any mentor program Omana hanging there right now. My main focus is to try to study the ship, and I want to go into coaching program of some sort. But. Last year may be transparent with you, folks. I spent a lot of time here on video publishing a lot of time on YouTube a lot of time on twitch a lot of time. There's video everywhere. The problem is where I'm spinning one plate other plants start to fall. I love this business. I love writing. I love publishing. I love video publishing as well. But here's the thing is not as much as much as I love writing. So I need to study the ship. So the course is going to be the main priority and getting that where it steady to where I can kind of get that thing going and eventually the coaching program will roll out when it's appropriate. So just hanging there. Definitely you're in. The course so you're gonna definitely be one of the first people to know, she also asked are there any ways you can promote your books for free? I'm assuming she means off the free promotion. Yes, I have a full video series. If you folks just look up marketing and promotion for books, and then just put the name Dale on it and on YouTube, boom, it'll probably pull up a playlist, and there's quite a few options when it comes to free and paid for marketing and promotion and just to repeat because Audrey just asked the interview are going to be on his seven o'clock eastern standard time. So just in about twenty minutes and Rosie just brought up comment. But I know it can expand on it. A lot of self publishers do swapping reviews, which is discouraging for the people like me that don't like to cheat. Do everything right. Because those people that Chee will eventually. Get something negative. So. Amazon's a data company. They know so don't be discouraged do everything right in the long run. You will come out on top review swaps down. It is a it's fake reviews. And there's nothing prideful putting fake reviews on your book. If you put fake reviews on your book, you know, what you in this business for your you here to fleece people of money. Now, some people could make the argument that it's like Amazon's big company they can afford to give me money. Remember on the other end of that they are customers buying their products in if your fluffing your content with the bunch of fake reviews. Shame on you. Yeah. You a rotten banana sticker, Ron. Amano was referring paperback books free promotion for paperback. Do you know of anything is it on the video? You'll learn a little bit more about free promotions. And what not for you? I would really recommend. You are such a talented and gifted artists get yourself in front of a camera as often as possible video eighty percent. And this was Owen video actually had shared over at the merchant Amazon conference Seattle this past year over eighty percent of online traffic is derived from video content consumption, people are watching video, and I watched you I think it was easily twenty thirty minutes, you drawing it just drew me in Oman. So I think that the more times you can get on camera that right? There is probably one of the best ways to really get your book out free promotion like people watch how gifted you are after so many times they're going to feel like oh my gosh. I just love the stuff. I mean think about it. How many people have watched Bob Ross over the years. Now granted the man's not alive anymore, but his entire. Firebrand is pulling money hand in fist over on twitch right now because they're doing reruns of shows in their shirts, there's merchandise out the laws zoo..

Now, it's getting to where no one can access anything. And this is where I actually was able to confirm this with my wife because she tried to access her create space account.
