It's <Speech_Male> not just one in particular. <Speech_Male> I'm cirque <Speech_Male> one hundred sixty two <Speech_Male> because every <Speech_Male> single game <Speech_Male> is important from front <Speech_Male> to back <Speech_Male> and if <Speech_Male> we could all have our way <Speech_Male> of course we could win one hundred <Speech_Male> sixty two. But <Speech_Male> i see this cubs team <Speech_Male> coming in a whole <Speech_Male> lot better than a lot <Speech_Male> of those projections. I <Speech_Telephony_Male> think i might have to go <Speech_Male> with that projection <Speech_Male> coming out of bristol. Connecticut <Speech_Male> and the <Speech_Male> cubs went in ninety one <Speech_Male> games. Because i think <Speech_Male> this team <Speech_Male> is going to cause a lot <Speech_Male> of problems for <Speech_Male> everybody league wine <Speech_Male> and with those one sixty <Speech_Male> two especially <Speech_Male> with fans in attendance. <Speech_Male> This year is <Speech_Male> going to be fun for <Speech_Male> all myself. <Speech_Male> Andy <Speech_Male> tony you the <Speech_Male> same. "Jake arrieta and the guys that are out there on that hill. Who you think is going to be this year's team cya the easy. Answers hendricks once one of these categories that come up on. Get into that a bit more. But i think zack davies is going to surprise people as well. I think david rods called him kind of like a light. Kyle hendricks which is how davies has been. Compared in throughout his entire career he has been compared to hendrix bit with their velocities about the same their ability to use changes Their their intellect coming into a huge factor as well. But yeah. I think davies. He had awesome spring. I mean he the first eight innings. Whatever that he threw he didn't even give up a head so he's looked really good. He looks like he's in like prime for and he's about to head into a free in year as well so i think he's very motivated. I think he ultimately can be the cubs. Cy young this year after the obvious choice of hendrix guys like like davies hendricks and mills that they pitched to contact. They hit their spots. They keep guys out front off balance. And that's the pitching equivalent of playing a little small ball. And andy you know. I love a little small by any anytime you can manufacture in create runs and wreak havoc out there on the basepaths. And it's always a better the cat but out there on the mound when you're out there and you're getting those guys to roll over and put went over there to the second base side and make easy outs let your fielders do half the work. It makes that much easier so when it comes to you. Who's your team cy. Young it was. I was going back and forth. I wanted to go with. Zagged is but since. Tony tucker. I don't want to repeat exactly what he said. Yeah yeah. I'm gonna go big. I'm gonna go sweet. I'm gonna swing for the fences. I hope i hit home. Run going correction ball. I think he's going to have a big bounceback year these last two years. I mean talk about the strangest years for forbid you're right you know twenty nineteen. He's not signed until june doesn't have a spring training. You can't get you in the flow of things. And when he finally gets in there. He's in the middle of a playoff race. Twenty twenty code pandemic. Everything gets shut down again when he starts pitching his. It's blah essentially in the sixty game season this year now. He has a spring training Workers way into it. He's got the full of four one sixty two year. Where he can y'all he'll he'll have his ups and downs over the course of sixty two. I think it will balance out. I'm gonna go. I'm just waiting for the fences. I think craig kimbrel is going to be..

"We're recording this on tuesday evening they have not made a move yet. leading into thursday's opener. But i kind of teased that. That's going to be something that's comment that they're going to sign a veteran. Backup of some sort. Pj higgins is the option. The internal option Should they not find anybody on the waiver. Wire free agency that they that they wanna add for a little bit more experienced. But yet higgins is a guy there high on for sure. I do believe that he's going to impact the catching situation at some point this year but he has not made his big league debut yet in inferred team that does have you know some aspirations on on winning their second straight division title. I think they want some experience back there. So they're trying to see how things shake out. If there's some more veteran experience out there available and if so that might be the guy that we see as the backup guy that's not currently on the roster were record okay. Well what do you think andy. will it. Be a case of maybe that third catcher would they be on the roster or would they be at that alternate location a bat cave the third catcher just given that we're back down to the twenty six man roster is going to be back at the alternate side with another interesting point that is brought back in the twenty twenty one season that was around for the twenty twenty season is taxi squad having a a a catcher on taxi squad. When when they go on the road will be will be interesting to win something to keep an eye on something. That's going to be important. But yet i think just given that the wrestler back down to twenty six. You're going to go with two catches. You're gonna go with wilson comparison and like tony mentioned. It's gonna be interesting as cuts are starting to be made or lacrosse league. Veteran catchers are available You know jonathan luke. Roy could be a an option. Trainers was like oh by the yankees someone you know. I'm not saying that they're going to go out and sign one of those guys would someone of that ilk is is a potential to be the backup catcher if they decide to go from a towards an external option. Okay guys now as we take a look towards twenty twenty one you know. I looked up and down this lineup. One through nine and there's pop at every turn of the corner and you know when you look at some of the predictions that all these different outlets had for the cubs. I mean it seems to be all over the board papa. Eighty eighty-five wins fan. Graphs really disappointed with bankrupts. Had the cubs at seventy eight wins. Absolutely no way in the world with all these sticks in the lineup. Everyone stays healthy. This team will be an under five hundred ballclub. usa today eighty two wins. Espn power rankings..

"On the road and today. Well it's not just two of us. But there'll be three of us andy. Martinez he's joining the crew along with myself antonia and jackie and guys like i said opening day it is right around the corner of course taking on the pittsburgh pirates in that. That's good news whereas most prognosticators would think because the pirates don't look to be very good this season but of course. There's a lot of topics as we had into the campaign that need to be addressed. And tony andy. I i wanna start at the four slot of course sets in defense. We're talking second base. And right now david brody. He went out there. He played his heart out and he earned himself a starting position. But if you're nico horner you start the season in triple aaa tony. I know that everyone says it has to do with service time but nico went out there. You see his is oh. Ps it was over thousands of guy. He did big things he went yard. Not once but twice. It went on the park against arizona but like i said his reward is starting in aaa would. What do you make of that. So far yes. I think it really is such an interesting case and it has so much to do with nico development. Last year was a no brainer. Because there is going to be no minor league season there was just the alternate site in the cubs had four extra roster spots on the opening day group so it was it was a no-brainer for them to take nico horner and everything. He could provide the team in terms of speed and everything else all his versatility. Now with only twenty six guys. It is a little bit different and you have to wait in the development fact because this guy is a huge piece of this team moving forward. He's part of the next core of guys and you know they. They want him to be their second baseman. The future center fielder somewhere in the middle of the infield for for years to come in order to do so he does have to make some offensive changes beyond just spring training. Yes to carry that over. Now you can go get that regular work at the alternate site and then once the triple a season starts in early may as well. I really like what ross said. How he put that out to like. It's david turn. David bodey has been a bench player in a role player for years. Coming up through the minor leagues as well. Now he gets a chance to show what you can do playing every day..

I said a few nights ago recorded our hand i've represented. I was always very pessimistic. Is very wary of the potential from his eighties to to come back out of nowhere and stunned the formula one field and maintain its advantage from the previous seasons. But yeah i mean what. What a great drive from vistaprint. The there was a slight a slight down a slight negative aspect to it. It did make a mistake in key. One damaged his car and put not seemingly not enough christie reckons that it costs about one tenth for seconds in terms of each latte did after going over the cubs and damaging his floor. The Mets Quest To Rebuild, And Rebrand, Themselves
"So tim. It's certainly been a roller coaster of an off season for the new york mets. How would you characterize the state of this. Mets organization as we head into the twenty twenty one season. I feel like the mets are still in kind of a period of transition as an organization. Steve cohen took over at the start of november and he brings in sandy alderson. The team's former general manager as his team president guy who's really well respected around the game of baseball and the thought was they wanted to instill a new culture for the mets to build this new mets team. That was totally different from what they had previously under wilpon ownership and for two and a half months they nailed it. We're going to build a process that produces great teams year in and year out. You bill champions you. Don't buy them. They nailed the opening. Press conference and i plan to make the investments. We need to succeed. It started signing guys. Trevor may and james mccann. They make a huge landmark trade for francisco endure and carlos carrasco the first week of january and everything was rolling in the right direction for them until mid-january and the story about jared porter and his inappropriate text messages and texts photos with a female reporter while he was a member of the chicago cubs front office in two thousand sixteen exposed that maybe the mets could have done a better job in the vetting process. That was clearly for a lot of baseball reporters. Based on the inference took off of twitter talked and he will find out his character. That's on you. Skepticism is really exacerbated. A couple of weeks later when we learned about micky calloway's misconduct as mets manager. In two thousand eighteen. Twenty nine thousand. Nine callaway sent unsolicited messages and photos to women among other inappropriate and harassing behavior. The former mets manager aggressively pursued the women through messages and in person the team released a statement saying was hired by sandy alderson. As the general manager. Calloway had been hired by. Sandy alderson two years before so i think all of the good vibrations from the first couple months of the offseason were undercut by what happened in the last month of the offseason for mid january to the start of spring training in february

MLB Spring training: Which Players Have A Shot At Making the Giants' Team?
"One guy that stands out to me and we'll get to Luciano. We've talked so much about him and how exciting and tantalizing he is. But we're talking bullpen, arms and guys who have a legitimate shot to make this team and one of the parting gifts from Bobby Evans. It seems like one of these guys. Camilo dove all he's been in the system time now did we saw him against the Dodgers the other night? He is exciting, and I think is you put out carry the best hair in the Giants bullpen right now. Oh, yeah, he he does have the best care because last year they had a guy Rodolfo Martinez, who was a Johnny Cueto look like just with better dreadlocks than Johnny Cueto. If you can imagine that this year, they've got Camilo Jovel who does not have better dreadlocks. But he has died his dreadlocks, so they're like orangish Red, And I'm hoping that by the regular season he'll have in his Giants Orange, because could you imagine that coming out of the bullpen? Got weapon 97 98 with a cutter and the breaking off a nasty slider. And then all of a sudden he's got the closer like hair, Camilo Devil and you make a great point. He is a parting gift from Bobby Evans. And this is something that we should talk about. I should write about eventually is all the parting gifts from Bobby Evans because you're starting to see the fruit of the Giants International. Sign me focus coming through the system. Marco Luciano, a Bobby Evans guy, Alexander Canario, Bobby Evans Guy. Curving Castro, a Bobby Evans guy. And so the Giants are starting to see this focus that we saw in the like post 2014 2015 World Series era where they went down to the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and other Latin American countries and sign some dudes and you're seeing that those dudes who they got when they were 16 17 years old are coming through this farm system and are going to be ready to contribute and so The village of all immediately popped out the other night against the Dodgers Cubs, But there's several other players, several other young players. Several other young pitchers who have really stood out so far. Well in another one is from the left side. Jake long this kid is from Sacramento. I think you would the Sac state or he's like up from the Northern California area. So he said. It was so funny. The quote I saw from him the other day was Buster Posey called him over to throw a bullpen and he called him by his name, and he was all stoked that Buster newest name because he's of that age group beauties like you and I. If Buster called us over, he'd be like, dude, that's Buster Posey calling my name so Him from the left side. You know, I hate to do the com thing, but I'm getting I'm getting Billy Wagner Vibes. Dude, What do you think? Billy Wagner vibes? That's that's fascinating. And so the reason I say that is because the jobs are actually building this guy up is a starter there. They're thinking of him a 97 from the left side, a guy with a hammer curveball and a good change up there looking at him as someone who could actually be in the rotation. And so when can't first started? Gabe Kapler traffic trump Buster Posey. They all said. Hey, pay some attention to this Sam Long guy. He's got something to him. And we're thinking, okay, This is just, you know, a guy who threw two good bullpens. You never know that happens every spring. He's probably a double A or maybe a triple a arm who could help them out of the bullpen Eventually. Then all of a sudden, he appears in the Cactus League opener against the Angels, and he has got major league stuff. No question in my mind after seeing him. Three pitches in I turn to Mark Sanchez in the press box. I go. I have seen enough. This guy can help the Giants right now, and I think that in keeping him as a starter and sending him down to triple A or double a to open up the season, you're potentially talking about someone copes who could somehow morphed his way into the Giants top pitching prospect and maybe beat Sean Jelly or Tristen back or some things other guys. The chance to excited about to the major league level. And so it's really fasting to see Sam Long come out of the bullpen because you're juxtaposing that with guys like Camilo, Javelin Caribbean Castro, who is another guy, Bobby Evan, signed who just has that hammer curve coming out of the bullpen 97. Very little mite early experience. But there are the pieces in place and you can correct me if I'm wrong. If you've seen anything differently, the first three or four days of spring training their pieces in place for the Giants to have one of the most exciting bullpens and Major league baseball and potentially one of the best is far as electricity goes like with stuff
Some Fans Could Be Allowed to Return to Chicago Stands This Season
"There are fans in the stands in the desert for Cubs and White Sox games as the Cactus League continues. Mayor Lightfoot today was asked about the possibility of fans at the Ballpark in Chicago this season. I think there will be a point Sometime this season, where you'll see fans in the stands it both regularly and guaranteed rate field, which I still called socks. Part Cubs home openers. April 1st stocks begin on the road. Their first game is April 8th. And Cubs and Royals underway in in May Souther tied in the fourth at Sloan Parks Oxley, the Rangers 31 in the

"For years but to have these three guys all three of them out there because hayward has experience as well in center you're basically having three feelers out there three guys with very good range from see the ball off very well. I do think they're going to cover more ground they're going to be able to play with wrigley The wind and sun and everything that plays into the wrigley outfield. But it's something that you know. Ross his actually mentioned he's like we've upgraded a little bit in terms of having peterson out there instead of worker in the past. So that's not a knock on shore or anything else. He worked really hard to get is defense. Up to the level of has been recent years a pearson is just a step above. Can he can provide a little bit more than what the cubs have had in the past and maybe a lot more. We'll see how it plays out. But i think with have to. That's something that he has stressed. His defense and jason heyward talked about as well. We just saw on zoom with the media hayward mention how have you seen have row as a defender and be able to take better routes and just expand upon that because now half is not disbursed super utility guy where he might play a little bit second play a little bit of left and right field and so on he is the guy in center field yes to play one position and figure it out from there and i think that that can mean a lot defensively to beyond just the at bats that we've already talked about the your david bodey is now in that role where he's going to be the jack of all trades. You know ian half. Was that guy who could play. Second base third base outfield three positions. David bodey. you are now. David ross's official swiss army knife now. I don't know if niko if he knew earlier. In the off season that a guy who is a workout warrior jake arrieta was going to actually be a member of this twenty twenty one team but some tells me that he had maybe a good inclination only because of the way that he reported to camp because word on the street. Tony is that nicole owners down there in camp gained a few pounds. He's looking shredded up. And he's hitting tanks out there in batting practice. Is there any truth to this room right now. There is some truth to that rumor. Yes absolutely i and even before position players in the first full squad workout nico is taken batting practice and yes. It is batting practice. Yes it is. You know late mid february or whatever but i think the results they did speak for themselves i i must does look a lot like you put on. A decent amount of muscle like noticeably different than the time we saw last year and he worked out all winter at wrigley field and stayed in chicago and stuff to trying to add some bulk and power but it showed it has showed so far in batting practice. He's hitting the ball You know off. The top of the net there in like left-center hitting over like the mini scoreboard. And and like yes. It's arizona and in warm weather and stuff too but these balls are traveling like seventy five four hundred plus beat off batting practice right away. And that's what you want to see. Equal doesn't to be a thirty homer guy but if he adds a little bit more power after not heading home run at all in the short season and just in general any power. He adds really helps game so much as a high contact bat. Versatility defense speed everything that he brings. He needs a little bit more though in terms of the slot and he for nico to add to what he already brings to the table. I mean gold glove caliber defense. A guy who gets on base he gets them on. He gets them over he gets a man we know he's all about that. Contact now if you can sprinkle in a few jacks when it when it comes to his his offensive line. That's certainly a welcome sight for david. Rawson company yeah. That's a really welcome sight right. Maybe a double down the during the gap that maybe. That's a you know. A wall scraper homerun you know just little things like that. Adding strength is a huge difference in instead of getting a double. Now you're relying on a basic by the next guy or you know a hidden ron. You're relying on all these things. You created that. Run yourself and you don't have to worry about the what ifs of big is behind you you just having that ability to put one over the fence like that would be a huge situation and for him. It's just going to be making sure he gets the plate repetitions getting all the getting the app bats. Getting the played appearances so that he can get those numbers and get that confidence because one of the things tough things about twenty twenty was that he wasn't planning as much and it's not like you could have said. Oh like you know. He's not getting the plate. Appearances listeners sent him down to iowa and get those at bats. That wasn't the case last year. So now it's just about getting getting the plate the plate appearances and making sure that he can get the rep so that he can keep developing because last year was a tough year. Not just for him. But for everyone league-wide. There's plenty of guys like him. That missed out on plate appearances. That missed out on the missed out on on feeling wraps i. It's just gonna be huge. This twenty twenty one's gonna be huge development and david ross talked about you know just communicating with them. And how how how open. He is to communicating and speaking up with him. That's just gonna be one thing to see as his development in a full season because at the end of the day he hasn't played more than sixty games at a time in in in big league in a big league season so hundred sixty two different than one sixty two as as we come to learn for sure absolutely will not go horner once ago. Finalist in twenty twenty one hoping to add gold glove winner to his resume and nico. He caught up with mcgregor and the gang on wednesday on country. Sixty let's have a listen. What kind of prep work went into the off season to prepare for a full hundred. Sixty two games these then. Yeah i had a pretty ideal set up this offseason. I was living in In lincoln park in chicago and and working out at wrigley all the time which is super lucky. Shane wall and our strength coach. Was there all offseason so not. Many people got to really work out with their strength coach in person. I was definitely lucky to do that. And i think it worked out pretty well. Bacau bigger stronger. A changing swing a little bit. Look to hit the ball of the authors heads more often or whoa is the second time. The offseason program. Yeah i think every every offices and obviously looking to push your strength and and be ready for a full seven-month mencia nothing to Nothing too crazy on the lifting side Just always learning more and finding edges there and then on the hitting side is worth working with crystal lak- who's our assistant goes on the big league side. And i think he's gonna be awesome for both myself personally in the group as a whole so super lucky to to work with him and Being communication all offseason set some goals. I'm in a good spot. Nico you mentioned working with the lak- and we've heard that you've opened up your hands a little bit. So will you explain the change in what all went into that We we looked at This past year and years before it in times of had success sometimes struggled and Just looking at it in a kind of a broader broader lens and What was nice with working with him. Who was always a two way street. A great conversation. And it's helping analytic side for sure to and Really nice working with someone who are. It's a constant delight and not just direction on way or another so yeah a little bit. More open stance. I'd say just the biggest theme as being more athletic Using my athleticism being dangerous dynamic player. And i myself a chance to to drive the ball every chance i can so many a good spot feels like second base job is yours to lose to. The main won't be some competition this spring. You've been bill is a guy who play all over. The diamond played some outfield. Minor leagues a little bit at the big league levels at in the cards for the spring. Two or is it strictly going.

"I got us at the table for for the guys. Come behind me for hobbies for kb for risk Those guys are are such good hitters. Took run producer. So it's my job to get on base and figure out a way to do it so that's how i view leadoff spot. i think that More than anything. It's just a a difference mentally nice and switching subject. Just a little bit. I watched the season at a distance documentary last night about the twenty twenty covert season. And what a tough time. It was for all you guys. What was the biggest adjustment per last year. And how was it playing in front of no fans man. Yeah no fans was was definitely different Once once we got into the flow of it we had such good energy in the dugout. which is really Came down from rossier early on That i think it made it a little bit easier for us to go out there and kind of Treated more normal but from just a human perspective not seeing your family For that amount of time for me some my mom Rape before the first spring training In march and then Not getting to see her again until after the year Mouth the my brother and people that are really close you. You just couldn't be with them and you couldn't share in the success or or or the city of chicago and That's something that i. I look forward to every summer going to have people up and and really Enjoy the city with them so that was for me by far the most difficult part of that season. Now one fun thing that you're able to do during the covid craziness pretty much that was widespread throughout the season and you were able to connect with connec roasters and you're able to get coffee for cove relief and by the way. The beans are delicious. Stall about the beans like mocha. Joe says these aren't the coffee for copen relief beings but nonetheless still terrific. How's all the coffee venture going for you man. It's been awesome. It's so great to connect with a business local business in chicago. That's helping Were super excited for some of the things that are coming along We want to make it so that all of the connect products are are a give back in that area in every product does give back to where the beans are sourced whether i think that bag was nicaragua or columbia or wherever But were super excited about it. We're going to have Some stuff closer to wrigley. We're going to have some more Connection with the fans this year and the response has just been awesome. But the coffee is great. it's going to be here At at sloan. So i'm excited for the guys to get to try man. I love coffee man but a switch subject again a little bit. How do you like plan for dave. Ross he's the best he's best remain rossi's energy that he brings every day on the confidence he has in his players and really the honest communication. He he's honest from day one and he tells you exactly what he's fix and as a player it just lets you be yourself and let you really have The belief of your manager behind you and just worry about playing the game. But we saw john giambi aka boo. He's headed down to arizona and half makes me coffee so we'll see if boob gets a nice cup of joe from me because he he goes straight black coffee no cream no sugar. He says if he wants ice cream then head to baskin robbins. But the question. I want to ask you. Ian is the fact that i heard that there was a little back and forth when it came to john. Leicester's locker you anthony rizzo. How much truth to that is there who got the lockers. Well who do you think. The captain i you know i i got a picture from nico and i. I saw that. That i had been given that lager. And i was like wow. That's really cool. That's that's a huge I don't know just just sign of respect. I think that locker so incredible Just because janis had for so long and r- is came in called me and he said hey man I i got that locker and your next to me knows like wait. I thought i had the locker. He said nah. I decided to move those. Like you've been here a long time. You have a lot more time. The big leagues than me. I will be happy to be next to you. The service time of course lends to that corner office. A john lester. Old locker in hat leadoff man. Starting center fielder for david ross. Chicago cubs the quiet storm. Thanks so much for taking time out. Really appreciate you thank samper. Thanks guys appreciate it ari. Tony we talked about his confidence and he touched on it as well david. Ross he talks about the ever blooming level of confidence with his leadoff hitter and starting center fielder in happened just to know where you stand entering the season that has to be a big contributor to that confidence for sure right when you talk about a guy well first of all baseball so much mental in have talked about that as well so to have that level of confidence that just that belief that you belong that the rest of the team that you belong i mean. He's a player rep on the cubs. It took over last year for it so that was big already. He knew coming into twenty twenty. He was gonna make a roster but Take a roster spot but what role he played you know. We didn't know that for sure now that he's really kind of established himself got some mvp votes last year. I think it can have. It can pay big dividends for him for this team because he doesn't have to go out there and earn a spy. His after proved is after. Put too much pressure into any one bad. Because he knows he's going to be playing the next day you can go for five. The five strikeouts not even follow off and he'll still be out there the next day. He can commit three errors in in center field and maybe he gets one day off or something but he'll be back out there years the center fielder of the now in the future for this team. Probably the leadoff hitter as well like you said so. That security can mean a lot to a player and it just doesn't go with baseball. It goes with anything in life whether it's whether it's writing or are hosting or school work or whatever it may be if you had that confidence to know that okay. This is my job. This is what. I'm going to do every single day. It just gives you that little extra sense of security. Yeah and he's he's talked about it in jason. Hey we're talking about doing press conferences. This week you know the company the being comfortable in your position and being able to do that. And i think one thing. We're going to see a little bit. More in terms of culture of being able to be comfortable is is him being in the leadoff spot right. He got it midway through and we saw with numbers in then we saw spike back up. And you had the eye injury kind of all those things going on one thing. That's going to be huge like tony mentioned. He's going to be the everyday leadoff hitter. You everyday center fielder and you know he's going to have a day where he doesn't get ahead or doesn't get on. It's just baseball. It's going to happen but you know the ability to know. Hey the next day. I'm going to get to do it again. And tomorrow. all michael five or five or you know. I might throw god at home. Whatever like just having that reassurance that hey i know tomorrow i'm going to play every damn play and i don't have to worry about making sure that this is the most perfect game because baseball. You know if you if you succeed three out of ten times your hall of famer. He's he's got that reassurance that hey if he's has an off day tomorrow's a new day and he can come back and bring it and i think that's just going to help the cubs often so much especially given the the the questions they've had with the leadoff spot in the last few years just that stability there's going to be huge for the cubs in a full one hundred sixty game season. You're confident player is a happy player. And you know. Pete rose once upon a time said that money doesn't buy happiness but he said if he could he by himself four hits every game. Something tells me that every guy if they got four knox each and every single contest they'd be pretty happy once the season wrapped up now. Tony when you think about this when it comes to eat happen centerfield. I don't necessarily have the sixty times officially from cal. Warburg versus jack petersen but ian hatton may not have to cover as much ground in center field only because he's got j. Hey over. There and now josh peterson who maybe is a step or two quicker than college. Peterson reserve you there. While he hasn't played there really.

"It's a dual threat today because you can also check us out on the marquee sports network happen. You can watch us when i say us. Of course i mean myself. Cold right tony and draghi digital content manager at marquee sports. Network amy martinez. of course. he's always knee. Deep in all things marquee sports network and the chicago cubs so guys as we know we talk about being knee deep in chicago cubs. Well it seems that. If tony is out in lovely mesa arizona once again and he's knee deep in spring training because the pictures are there. The catchers are their position players. Are there everybody has descended upon the desert and as we know of course. The first televised game marquee sports network. That's march second versus the kansas city. Royals and i mean there's just so many moving parts tony when it comes to spring training but it usually seems to be a case of pitchers being of position players. Because that's usually how it goes. They report i but is that how things are shaking out right now. I've seen some of the hitters stepping in the box. Taking some live ep. Off some of those arms there yet. I think the cubs are working hard to make sure that. That's not the case in a weird way like sure they want the pictures to be ahead but the hitters kris bryant even before position players reported bryant wisden. They're facing live ep. I think it was. La that through that one and yes so like the jumped in they've been taken swings. Some of the guys did report early every year. There's there's always guys that do report early. But brian is one of those an havi and anthony rizzo as well that. They're out there trying to take a lot of swings as much as they can without overdoing it but hoppy in and seeing live pitching right away. You're like five and a half weeks or so until the first regular season game so i do think that's important. I think it's something that they're trying to get back to as well like the hitters are anxious to go players. They're ready to get this thing go. Anybody think there's a lotta position players that had down years last year and that's just what it is. You take a look at the back of their baseball card. Their numbers not really in line with what they're used to seeing when it comes to a production level whether it's anthony rizzo kris bryant. Hobby buys or wilson traders. And something tells me that twenty twenty one is going to be a big time turnaround year for that entire quartet. Yeah you mentioned it. And it's something that you know. David ross mentioned a lot as french has been going on right that you know jet horrors mentioned it to you know. They are expecting those guys to get to the level of their baseball card with the numbers on the back of their baseball card. It's been repeated countless times right. I feel like that baseball card. Phrases is gonna is gonna be. What does the whole year and know truly believe it right like i. You can't see anthony. Rizzo willson contreras hobby by anchors. Brian all having career worst years again and they are like you can come back here and tell me i was. I was dead wrong. But it's just it's just not likely to happen. And i think you know given a full spring training if you think about it last year right ahead the start of spring training then everything gets shut down. Then they go to summer camp and it's a very fast pace summer camp where you're kind of wrapping things up all of a sudden again and then you know you go into sixty game sprint. Were everyday game matters. You know it's a postseason race from the from the from the gecko. It's just a completely different atmosphere. Everything's a little bit more relax. Everything's a little bit. You know back to norm. If that's going to help these cubs hitters get back to the cubs heaters that we know we're going to see anthony. Rizzo hit those numbers that he's As we're gonna see how he buys those numbers that he said in the past when kris bryant likewise you know i think this is just a good opportunity and tony wrote about this. A little bit and david ross spoke about it. You know the ability to reset is so nice. It's so important and it's going to help the the offense of hitters a lot this year. Well one guy who doesn't have to reset all he's doing right now is retooling. And he's doing so well with a bankroll not the dip into anyone's pockets. That really supports what he's gonna do this season in half. Of course we know he was arbitration case. It's the first time a cubs player has one arbitration case since one thousand nine hundred ninety. Sean dunston he's going to be getting paid. You know just a social reform million bucks and his numbers on the back of his baseball card from a season ago. Something tells me he likes the way they look. And you know david. Ross talked about time and time again. The confidence level that the quiet storm ian has exhibited not only last season but this year already in the early goings of spring training. Let's certainly going to be a feather in his cap and we cut up with just the other day on comes three sixty percent of by miller lite just to be able to pick his brain on the upcoming campaign so let's have a list. Offseason treat man off. Season was great Obviously a little bit different I think everybody had to deal with little bit of a different workout schedule or finding a place but it was it was It was really good too after that season. I'm kinda decompressed. And get the body right for this year. That's great man. Hey happier sean marshall. Congratulations on a great twenty. Twenty season leading the cubs and several offensive categories. What did you rented justin adjustments. You make going into last year. And what are you working on the this spring training. Yeah that's a great question will allow the adjustments. I may were just a continuation of stuff that i felt like really I didn't twenty nineteen which was a lot of getting back to myself. A lot of getting back to Success i hadn't seventeen Conference just just understanding that the mental side of it and having confidence in yourself at this level is the most important thing so that was the biggest thing and For me heading into this camp it was a little bit of work right handed on some some of the things that i did really well in one thousand nine hundred and seventeen And trying to get back to that trying to really believe in Can do from that side of the plate and just the consistency from both sides. Now in as we know two world series champions on the cubs roster this season new editions. John peterson and jake marines nick. Now when it comes to their impact especially in that outfield. What do you think it's going to be. I'm really excited for it. Obviously we've had outfield. It's been together a long time jason. I've been together For a long time. But i i'm really excited To learn from these guys are already talking to to jigme rhythmic out there. About the way that he's played centerfield about some of the things That the teams that he's been on have done what he's learned along the way. Obviously john coming over for the dodgers for a long time you know they have systems in place that are really interesting so just to pick each other's brain to start that those open lines of communication. I think that's the biggest thing for us to voters. is just constantly communicating before pech after moving each other around i. I'm really excited for it. And shoe watching jocks. vp's pretty special. The i said with these new additions. Where do you expect to play this year. yeah i haven't had my my talk with rossi yet But for me after last year really a hope. The lockdown at centerfield job and move around as needed. I've done my entire career but just excited to contribute. In any way that i can start in center field hitting leadoff spot. Sounds like the sweet spot for you. They're happy but last season. We know you are all over the lineup. Sometimes you in the nine holes sometimes during the one hole but knowing that you will be that leadoff man this season. how does that change your preparation going into the campaign. That's a good question. I think more than anything. It changes your mental preparation. Because you know you're going to get five at bats every single day And that from a mental standpoint is just understanding a my job is to get on base two times a day. However i have to.

"You can watch it on youtube though we little different. That's so funny. But now i just. I don't know why that came to mind for like lower handstands but they brought they actually brought him up so. I'm not exactly like i'd love to talk to justin stone about it's like i have to. You've got to trust comes put into what they're doing with him and then on cassie's another. I don't think. I had an honorable mention. But i know he's the last piece of the darvish trade us a big lefty huge power. I'd actually. I'm actually interested to see their dichotomy and his players in terms of how they developed because they're power first outfielders with like big raw power. Like if you go down the stretch your spring training and you happen to see any backfield's play i imagined no-go and cassie two guys are gonna be hitting balls until like other fields and like causing issues and respecting on a mirror. That stop games. Because there's bombs hit by these two guys but again that's it's hard. It's hard to build that profile. It's definitely a lot of those guys failed. Never make any never hear about those all you hear about his like the nose and the judges and these these large who make it. But it's you never hear about the ones that don't and imagine trying to figure out how they can allow cassie to make fit in the middle of lineup long-term tony. I thought he was going to go. More with like eric davis with his hands lower in the battle jason worth the price of lynnwood upside out of his pocket. Just like that all right now. Let's get deluca little because this is a question. That's been burning with me. Because i heard right around draft time luke little you saw on the dr ryan video that this was throwing i absolute sand out there. One hundred five miles an hour. He's six foot eight. He's lefty but i heard all that one hundred five. It's one hundred and five. It's only one hundred one and he's got a bad body but at last look the kids. Nineteen nineteen year old nineteen year old stuff and having fully committed themselves in the gym so to have a bad body and beat nineteen years old and throw of a real one hundred one in a fraudulent one. Hundred and five. I would like to think that. Luke little probably in a pretty good position right now. No doubt yeah. I think that it's a great pick like with because they're doing in terms of like calling market on these high velocity lefties y- with the velocity thing that's tough. i know. there's a lot of if you go to like a pro day event. Any of these style things. They have a rap soda setup and have a stocker gun which is like a radar gun generally see like those black boxes that stalkers the long one though. Yeah exactly explanation. Last look stocker and jobs. That's exactly what i was going to say. No there's velocity difference between the two of them. Generally you'll see like stalkers are about two two miles per hour three miles per alu. So this is a big thing. Like reconciling track man rap soto and stalker villa. So i don't know what he threw. It was hard. I mean that's fine. We can agree on that. And so i'm going to interrupt you. The jugs gun is hotter or the stocker. Because i thought it was always the stalker was two miles. An hour slower and the jugs was the quicker. I don't know what rap soto is. I'm just they didn't had those back in the day now..

"Which means that the pitch spins a lot which allows it to capture it on a movement but the efficiency of that's been is what actually creates the movement of pitch. This is why you have highly efficient for seniors. That move a little bit more up. In his own the garrett cole fastball that lander fastball cetera and then curb is the opposite is very similar. Excuse me the efficiency of a curveball that pitch to move more in either horizontally or vertically so if he has high ross spin he has high potential but the efficiency of the pitch actually allows you to actualize that potential. So we've heard raw spin uncle franklin. We haven't heard efficient on rough on coal franklin but that flip right. There is something that i'm fairly is a standard practice. Much pits design sessions. You to pitch session. You look at a guy. Jairo spin okay. Why curled Sweet miss The access a little bit off. Let's adjust that potentially get that pitch moving more. And when there's more aggregate movement the correlation between that and missing that substantially higher. So looking cole. Franken you're telling me has a fastball. That potentially could get up to nine hundred ninety five. We'll see on that. We're kind of trust in the cubs there. He's already got above average plus change up which is again saying that. It's between you know around like a standard deviation above majorly averages really really good that's top twenty percent as polish difference in velocity eight to eleven miles an hour is pretty much where he's at right now. Yeah there's two classes to change but there's the ones that miss based on philosophy. Then you have like lucia lido type which are a little more like fronta backwards like julia throws this changes where it's like only like eight ish off. Let's yeah he's got depth. So he's got the karl hendricks style like that a little lower velocity and i imagine it's probably eight to ten so we're probably looking at like eighty five ish and if he's throwing ninety five which is great. That's perfect in especially if that's getting good dropping running in the army on it's good the fuel for a change of extremely important and then you add in potentially an average to above average curb off the cubs can do their magic on the pitch. Zayn side you have. A starting pitcher really good frame is online with livery. Which is something scouts home. Which i really liked you know. This kid is like the prototypical pitcher that is gonna shoot up. I'm shocked that he wasn't on some topple hundreds that have come out in the industry. Honestly but again we're talking about this recalibration shot off you. Tell me in three months that we're looking at co franklin and aa you know And all the sudden he looks like you know as good if not better than like in house law like a. That's why like. I just think he's he's right in this. And we talked a lot about co franken. But ed howard super projectable. He's like he's really interesting because The variability of the bat is really. What's interesting here. Everyone thinks he can kinda stick at short and again. He's another guy that's going to grow a little bit but we think that there's a little bit more predictability in terms of growing and adding power and sticking at short. And if you talk about the mold of guys who have power at shortstop you funnel down to like some of the top players in baseball so i love that He's another guy that we're gonna get our first look at. We only see him..

"Today we come into you like we usually have from the very beginning right here on the podcast on spotify and on apple podcast. But we're also trying a little something new a new wrinkle a- curve ball so to speak in a make sure download the marquee sports network where we're going to uploading the full podcast. But this time we're gonna do in video form as well as audio so not only. Do you get to hear all of our terrific points. You also get to see tony and jackie. His clean shave that he's prepared for us today because we have plenty to get you in a sense. Our hands are so full. We brought in our guy producer at marquee sports network and also a video editor at dr line. Baseball it's my man. Lance bras douse gi and lance. Today we're gonna take a quick look at the cubs top twenty prospects. Now i know that there's prospects that playing field that also are out there on the mound is not always easy evaluation process when it comes to put putting a grade with some of these cats. So how do you actually go out there and say this guy gets this mark. That guy gets this mark and then now we're still gonna decide on this other guy. Yeah well first of all. Thanks for having me on. I mean that's a great question. I think for the most part. It's talking to a lot of people who know a lot more about this stuff than me and sourcing opinions and stuff and getting understanding in perspective from people outside the cubs organization that when they think of these guys and the main thing is just like we've talked about as i was talking about tony about this a little bit but it's the amount of information technology that the league is a whole almost made public. You know in the last couple of years on the pitching side of things compared to what we have on the hitting side and i think for the most part that's trickled down a little bit into scouting as well. i mean i could hop onto baseball savant and show you pitch movement chart for guy kyle hendrickson like we can really dig into understanding like how he succeeds but on the hitting side. It's still relatively. It's simple you know like the analysis a simple and the technology hasn't really made its way towards the public based on the public understanding and obviously there's scouts who most cats kind of fall into one bin you're better at evaluating pitchers are better at value.

"And the voice of the chicago cubs the one and only lancaster in bruce. I'll start with you. Because today we saw the press conference and it seemed to be the perfect move made by tom. Ricketts and really looks very good right now for the cubs because the continuity factor of having an executive who has been there for all the success and the building over the last nine years and now at the same time of fresh face somebody with his own ideas. Somebody they'll bring in his own general manager to help move this forward so i think you have the best of both worlds. i think. that's how the ricketts family looked at this. Yeah you make a good point. Bruce about continuity and i just wanna add on a personal note. Jet is so well respected throughout the industry and the fact that he went from running his own organization in san diego to come and join. Theo in chicago the fact that now he gets to head this organization nine years in waiting. It's been a great nine years. There have been some challenges along the way and some amazing successes. And i just feel very happy for him on a personal level That jed gets this opportunity to lead the organization through at least twenty twenty-five taking a look at social media absolute outpouring for jed. Hoyer you see this one. Jed hoyer deserves this asked had cubs. There's no doubt about that. Jed taking over as president of baseball operations softens the blow of the epsteins stepping down jettison full control. I trust this guy. Sure he's glad that he has your trust in last but not least in all caps appears. If he's yelling at jed hoyer is my guy so one thing we do know is so far. It's been a busy off. Season theo epstein. He resigned jedi warrier is given a new post with the chicago cubs so lent when it comes to the next domino to fall for jed. What do you think it's gonna be well with all this talk about the core and the twenty twenty one Free agency looming. The biggest question right now guys is a starting rotation now only has yu darvish kyle hendricks and probably alec mills. You've got free agents john lester. Jose king tana tyler chat would so i think the starting rotation is probably the biggest thing right now. The cubs are going to have to tackle that. That is certainly something very important. But i i believe addressing the issue of the core four and the name of kris bryant being out there and so prevalent in conversations and rumors out there it appears teams like washington the dodgers possibly to other teams of looking at bringing in a big foot third baseman He's making the most money of any of the core four out There has been some frigid times between the brian. Camp of by scott. Boris the agent and the cubs so from my perspective. I think keep your eye on the bryant situation and that happening sooner rather than later yeah moves to be made but that shouldn't be a problem for the new president of baseball operations for the chicago cubs jet hoyer. He's ready to the ground and hit the ground running. And that's going to do it for the special edition of the weekly podcast. Brought to you by wintrust. But don't forget download and subscribe the.

"How much <Speech_Male> attention is paid <Speech_Male> toward the future <Speech_Male> as well as <Speech_Male> trying to win in <Speech_Male> two thousand and twenty <Speech_Male> one <Speech_Male> bruschi bowl <Speech_Male> the insinuating <Speech_Male> that some <Speech_Male> members of the core <Speech_Male> for may <Speech_Male> wanna list their <Speech_Male> current residences <Speech_Male> on zillow. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> We'll we'll see where <Speech_Male> guys go once. <Speech_Male> The season gets underway <Speech_Male> the off season. <Speech_Male> That is <Speech_Male> muscle. Tony when it comes <Speech_Male> to your bowl. Offseason prediction <Speech_Male> man. <SpeakerChange> What would you hit <Silence> this. <Speech_Male> I think <Speech_Male> either <Speech_Male> by her answering <Speech_Male> rizza will sign an <Speech_Male> extension before <Speech_Male> the new season <Speech_Male> stars so maybe <Speech_Male> in spring training like <Speech_Male> we start with. Kyle hendricks <Speech_Male> a couple years ago <Speech_Male> but <Speech_Male> know just bold <Speech_Male> prediction that i could <Speech_Male> see that happening. <Speech_Male> <hes> <Speech_Male> i don't know for <Speech_Male> sure about <Speech_Male> schwarzer <Speech_Male> bryant or even <Speech_Male> wilson traders who's <Speech_Male> do for free agency in <Speech_Male> a couple of years but <Speech_Male> i think <Speech_Male> with how much harvey <Speech_Male> means to this team <Speech_Male> in their run prevention <Speech_Male> and defensively <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> Everything that <Speech_Male> he's brought to the team <Speech_Male> in baseball instincts <Speech_Male> in accu and same <Speech_Male> with rizza the way <Speech_Male> of stepped up to be a <Speech_Male> leader in twenty <Speech_Male> twenty and <Speech_Male> he's obviously meant so <Speech_Male> much to this <Speech_Male> team but really <Speech_Male> his at bat <Speech_Male> to is as <Speech_Male> ben so huge as <Speech_Male> we talk about. All these <Speech_Male> guys reser. Does <Speech_Male> everything we talk about <Speech_Male> he. He chokes up. <Speech_Male> He goes the other <Speech_Male> way he tries to put <Speech_Male> the ball in play <Speech_Male> You know he makes <Speech_Male> heart contact he <Speech_Male> shortens up with two strikes <Speech_Male> other things <Speech_Male> that i think is such <Speech_Male> a great example for <Speech_Male> anybody else in the <Speech_Male> lineup. So <Speech_Male> i think those are two guys <Speech_Male> at the team really <Speech_Male> wants to build around <Speech_Male> so i can see an extension <Speech_Male> with one of those guys <Speech_Male> coming up <Speech_Male> but that being said we <Speech_Male> don't know <Speech_Male> what the landscape <Speech_Male> is so <Speech_Male> i i do think <Speech_Male> it's bold. The think that <Speech_Male> one of those guys will sign <Speech_Male> an extension before <Speech_Male> spring training starts. <Speech_Male> But yeah <Speech_Male> i <SpeakerChange> i <Speech_Male> guess. We'll see how realistic <Speech_Male> that is. <Speech_Male> All right well. <Speech_Male> I don't necessarily have <Speech_Male> to make a bold prediction. <Speech_Male> I was justa <Speech_Male> instructed to make <Speech_Male> sure that you guys <Speech_Male> gave me your bowl predictions. <Speech_Male> I'm going to do that <Speech_Music_Male> anyways. I was gonna <Speech_Male> limit analysts. <Speech_Male> Say that there's <Speech_Male> a big free agent <Speech_Male> that's gonna come <Speech_Male> to the chicago cubs <Speech_Male> re probably gonna be on one <Speech_Male> of those one year deals <Speech_Male> like bruce was saying but <Speech_Male> i think it's going to be <Speech_Male> an instance where we <Speech_Male> see that big time free <Speech_Male> agent be the <Speech_Male> first to test those <Speech_Male> what year contract <Speech_Male> waters are gonna <Speech_Male> roll the dice. They're <Speech_Male> gonna bet on themselves. <Speech_Male> They're gonna come chicago <Speech_Male> and they're going to help the cubs <Speech_Male> moon the two thousand <Speech_Male> twenty one <Speech_Male> world series championship. <Speech_Male> I know <Speech_Male> maybe a lot of prognostication <Speech_Male> there but <Speech_Male> You know we <Speech_Male> like to put the cart before <Speech_Male> the horse. Eat a good <Speech_Male> way here on the cubs. <Speech_Male> Weekly podcast <Speech_Male> in <SpeakerChange> less what <Speech_Male> we do so <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> whole rights <Speech_Male> projecting. The <Speech_Male> cubs <SpeakerChange> signed trevor. <Speech_Male> Bauer to a one <Speech_Male> year deal. <Speech_Male> Well <Speech_Male> i feel <Speech_Male> like that's that's a whole nother <Speech_Male> comes weekly podcast. <Speech_Male> Trevor <Speech_Male> bauer you can dig it <Speech_Male> him with <Speech_Male> the state for <Speech_Male> those giant forks. <Speech_Male>

"Because he's quite possibly the most important free agent signing in the history of the chicago cubs but from front to back all season long. There was nobody that was more consistent in jerry. Jeffress whether it be in the batter's box or on the pitcher's mound j. double. He was airtight all season long in. Hopefully he can do more in the same in two thousand twenty one years. Yeah and you know you just going to have to look at the free agent market out there and you know think we need to guys like to add keep jeffress would also add like a power left-handed arm the back of our bullpen. Like zach britton or a person like that on a short term deal. And i think free agency is gonna be six. Suppressing -ly More active than people talk about but because my projection is is that it's going to be let little little later developing for some people but other smart players in agents this year after understanding the economic situation of baseball is in will be more prone to signing one year deals. Okay i think some people will will jump on one year deals with real good money involved even though it might be a pro rated as many games you play because of the fact of We don't know what the revenues are going to be for baseball. We do not know how many games are going to be played. We don't know what baseball is gonna look like after the two thousand and twenty one. Cba in december next year. So with all that said. I think you're gonna see more short-term veal's the clubs are more comfortable with and teams like the cubs the adds that bullpen of. There's not one guy that that That david ross trusted other than those two guys that we mentioned there in kimbrell and in a jefferson at the end of the year that impacted both of those glare off games. He with a little bit too long with both starting pitchers in those games. They lost because he didn't really have bridge guy that he trusted and he was trying to get to these two guys at the end. You can't baseball games that way. So depth in the bullpen is gonna be huge for the cubs. Okay so tony when it comes to this twenty twenty one team Comparing and contrasting with two thousand and twenty how much different was ballclub..

"You know we're moving forward here I would i would think that We're going to see that rule. Stay as well as the one inning. were pitcher us to come in which i don't like very much either so you'll see a lot of fan a lot of the three bedroom and i'm a hot and cold. A lot of these different rules. I know tony and scott together sitting here looking at me with a little smirk on your face. I'm like the old man. The park tonio says guy yelling at clouds. But i think it's like that. I think i like to see baseball. Played the way it was intended to be played balls in the park but also you have to do some manufacturing along the way and i know that it's going to be a long offseason for the cubs. Just when you think about everything that's gone into the twenty twenty season that will go into the twenty twenty one campaign. Bruce are you. A game of thrones guy. No i'm not. Although i let to upset all of my friends and you know how i am. You know i'm they're kind of guide. I watched the last episode. Okay did you tweet spoilers. I'm sure you did all my family. My friends my girlfriend were so outraged that i kept saying. What's with this dog. Why is everybody calling the dog out of there. You know it's just like what are you nuts. I mean come on back. You know stick around. You don't have to leave. So i knew nothing about it until the last episode you know people hated me for talking about the steps all well. I know nothing about it because Flying dragons haven't been my thing since i was about seven years old so that's here nor there but one thing i do know. Is that a phrase from that series. Is that winter is coming and like we said that long season is going to be a lot to think about for the oh and jed and the cubs front office so when it comes to some areas of concern or maybe focus. Bruce what do you at. The jet are a really looking to fix this offseason. While i think the things that we talked about I think they feel they have to bring in some contact hitters. Guys can that can hit the fastball. In the zone. That's that was the biggest problem for the chicago cubs. This your they couldn't they couldn't hit fastball. So they were the swinging missing in. This is a team..

"But i think what would you think of richhill. I really do miss watching run basis former cub. We know it's always an adventure when he's out there baby draft fresh out the wound up. They're scrambling around the base fast. That's here nor there but when it comes to pitchers being able to hit what could i sit there. And i do watch pitcher when pictures have quality at bats and salad plate appearances. It makes say okay guy. He's been working after he's been he's been getting after putting in extra hours as all other players do at other facets of their position. All pitchers have to do is go out there. Worry about throwing strikes. And i feel like if there's other parts of your job description go out there and knock them out. We just haven't seen that in years past off all the all the pitchers who can swing it. They really have something to be proud. That's a badge of honor. I get it. But here's the reality of the situation in two thousand and twenty one. It's likely that we do not see a d. h. In the national league because of the fact that that is a bargaining chip going forward for the cba in two thousand and twenty one and both sides will use it to their advantage to see whether or not they can get concessions from the other side. Those tough negotiations so in two thousand and twenty one there are likely to go back to a pitcher hitting it would only be for year because after two thousand and twenty one. I don't see a pitchers ever hitting again in major league. Baseball up offenses is too much king. It's too hard to even get a Offense going these days against the hundred mile an hour. Fastballs in the defenses zetter set up to prevent runs run. Prevention is a huge problem for attention span in baseball right now so unfortunately for people you call an myself always the differentiation. In the league's. I think we might see it for one more year again. And then It'll be gone after two thousand twenty one you know. We'll get to the rule changes in just a second. But bruce out there. I think you just set down this rabbit hole because you're talking about the offensive production in everything that that is the game in two thousand and twenty but you know with all the home runs that had been hit in the uptick in the power numbers. I'm not one hundred percents. Share with maybe to get our researcher for marquee sports that were presented nazi on the phone right here. But i would guess that there's more batting averages league wide under two fifty than we've ever seen in the history of major league baseball that's that's the give and take when you want these guys that hit home runs strikeouts gonna pile up and unproductive at bats are gonna pile it. That's exactly what we see. It's part of the launch england. I mean tony in bruce. Maybe you guys disagree with me but when you swing up and try to hit the ball out of the park what are you doing swinging over the ball swinging under the ball. You're not making solid contact when you make solid contact. You're gonna put backs on the ball to jump out over the fence. Imagine if we got ourselves a time machine. And we're back to the fifty sixty seventy and told mickey mantle. Willie mays hank eric. Hey you're gonna hit more home. Runs swing forget swinging through the ball with a level. Just swing up on the ball..

"We had a game engine cargo atlanta and the cubs as the braves and the cubs play in chicago i guess they had a game better game in chicago and they went back to atlanta and played yesterday 'cause i swear that game yesterday was in lanta in double checking because this is kind of weird yeah they played they played in chicago yesterday on monday and then i flew to lanta monday nights play to play in in atlanta where there was a way they just kind of figured out how to do the whether the game i think game on monday was a makeup game they played it in chicago and both as both teams had off day leading into the series so we'll talk about the game that happened on monday as you can see the teams were wearing their forty two jerseys rather making up the game that was supposed to be happening happened on april for the on able fifteen jaguars in day so they're wearing the jackie robinson younis and it was a homer fest in this one as the cubs were able to hit the ball out of the ballpark but not enough as the braves hit one more than them and got the win by one six five was the final score home runs for the braves is the lbs hit his sixteen teller flowers at his first and jose batista his second and the cubs had a home run from omar junior and his second in kris bryant hit his eighth starting pitching in this game polio tehran gets the win he went six innings lead four runs on four hits three walks one strikeout dig it up those both those home runs.
