"This up spike. I think you're going to have all of those people that are costco freaks that are going to be calling in to defend costco. I'm one of a love. My costco and I think this is a little judgy. And i want to see what everybody else thinks about it but this came up in conversation yesterday and i don't wanna say how i know the couple but woman in my life found out that her man got an engagement ring at cosco and she's all bent out of shape about it and told him that before they get married he has to buy her a quote proper ring from an actual jewelry store nine. Oh he spent some good money on this diamond. I don't know if you guys are looked at jewelry. That cost has got some pretty expensive and sizable from pasco. Yeah and it's it's gorgeous. It's not like it has little red costco tag on it. When you wear it on your finger nobody knows what it is. I just see it's beautiful. Does it really matter where your man bought your diamond ring like costco walmart. Wherever if it's dime it meaning you get it appraised if it's a nice ring it's a nice ring. What's the quality of Diamonds that they would use it Costco compared to the quality of diamonds they would use at lucido. Fine jewelry is the same. A diamond is a diamond ratings on the clarity and carat and all that stuff. But you're to know the value of it and what you're gonna pay. It's not like You know it's just like wine you know when you buy wine there. They have state minimums what they could charge for it. And that's what it's gonna be. You know if you would like a good wine or you know what. Your budget is for the wind. You know what your budget is for. Diamond There is there is a different. Costco is a reputable store. You know walmart's obviously a reputable start to what about getting it from a pawn shop like if you went to american jewelry and loan like the hardcore pond. People like it would that. Would you feel that way. I would feel about that because there is a story that i don't know and yet you can have bad juju. I totally i'd so rationale would make me feel weird. Yeah it is a rational. But i'm just being honest i would be uneasy about that so somebody i know whenever i bring up somebody i know it always goes right back to in more people than stu. I want people to know this. What does this do. They ended up getting a ring in the. What's the new rings right. Now that are they're not actual diamonds there like they look like diamonds but they're not actual diamonds. It's not cubic. yeah. I know what you're talking about. I just i just heard so so. It looks amazing. But it's like half the. It's what i heard. People are now doing. And you can get at lucido fine jewelry or whatever you know you can go to meghan meghan. What your jewelry store that. You always insert jewelers j foster jewelers and mike. What's yours in grand rapids kesslers kesslers. Yeah so you can go to any of those jewelry stores. And i think you can get it but he showed me this ring. I'm telling you this ring the m- the diamond was frigging huge. But i don't know exactly what it is what it's called but it's got some kind of a name to it well and the ones we're talking about just to be clear. The costco is an actual diamond. And you can win there. They have nine thousand dollar rings of fifty nine thousand dollar rings. I mean it's not like he got it for forty bucks because it's a costco. You can also by the way. get a coffin. If you'd like at costco and who's aim purchase. That might cause argument. But who says that you.
Too Soon? The CDC Relaxes Mask Guidance for Fully Vaccinated
"Okay ellison aubrey. Since the new mass guidance from the cdc came out different groups. Industries have responded. Let's start with businesses. Sure i mean. Many of the big retailers are dropping their masking requirements including walmart. Costco starbucks walmart says. It supports employees. Who may choose to continue to wear masks. Even if they're fully vaccinated and all of these chains are encouraging people who are not vaccinated to continue to mask now over the weekend cd. Rochelle walinsky was pressed about the new policy and she cautioned. That masks will be with us for a while. Likely said a lot of people are not vaccinated and they should be masking in many settings. He or she is on nbc. This was not permission to shed masks for everybody everywhere. This was really science driven individual assessment of your risk. And now we all need to work together and cdc is hard at work now saying what does this mean for schools for travel for camps for businesses. I think what she's getting at here. Mattie is there is more guidance to come now. They've shifted this strategy unmasking. A lot of the other guidance for what to do in the office what to do in schools will need to get looked at again reviewed now given how hard it is to police the new policy. I mean it's hard to know who is or isn't vaccinated. This really just comes down to the honor system and dr walinsky ask people to be honest with themselves because people who are not vaccinated are putting themselves at risk. Yeah i i mean alison. This was the part kind of blew me away. I mean this puts the burden on individuals to do the right thing by themselves and also by others. And i i don't know i don't think we have evidence that an honor system will work in the us especially with the stakes being this high. Well there definitely are critics. Marc perron is president of the united food and commercial workers international union which represents about one point three million frontline retail and grocery store workers. He says the guy insists confusing. And that the cdc has failed to consider how it will impact essential workers who face frequent exposure to people who are not vaccinated. And some refuse to wear masks. I think that the guidance should busy. People should wear masks at least until we get to that herd immunity number. We're not there yet. We only have about forty percent of the population fully vaccinated and i. I think that we could have waited another couple of months. And there's also similar concern from nurses mattie leaders of the national nurses united which is the largest union of registered nurses in the. Us say the new policy threatens the lives of patients nurses and other frontline workers across the
Target, CVS End Mask Requirements for Fully Vaccinated Customers
"Two of the nation's larger retailers are dropping facemask requirements in their stores in response to last week's guidance from the CDC that fully vaccinated people didn't need to wear masks indoors anymore target and CVS say they're no longer requiring shoppers who are vaccinated to wear masks inside their stores they didn't say how anyone would know if a shopper was inoculated or not target says vaccinated workers can also stop wearing masks and it's offering time off to its employees to get a quote good shot at CVS though workers will still have to wear a facemask regardless of their vaccination status Friday Walmart Costco and several other large retailers announced that they were dropping mask requirements for people who have been vaccinated I am Jackie Quinn
Major U.S. Retailers Drop Mask Requirements

However, retailers such as Wal Mart Trader Joe's and Costco are among the first to confirm they will adopt the new CDC recommendations. Other retailers such as Apple Target and CBS are still deliberating. Some customers report They remain uncertain of these new measures. Businesses say they won't need to see proof of vaccination. Boston Dynamics has a new robot
"It might remember that. Robots spot the one. That kind of looks like a dog. Yeah pretty freaky looking contraption and blew up the internet a little bit too. Yeah definitely so the company behind it. Boston dynamics just announced their latest robot. It's likely not as creepy in his weirdest spot. It's called stretch. And it was designed to work. In warehouses and fulfillment centers stretch features a small omni directional mobile base. A custom designed lightweight arm in a gripper with advanced sensing and controls to handle a variety of packages. There's a video of this in action which you can watch on tech dot usa today dot com and you can actually see how it works. It picks up. Different boxes of varying sizes moves them different places. It actually opens up a box. There's one part which is kind of weird where they the stretch actually grabs one of those spot- robots the dog looking one and picks it up out of a box and then the legs popout which kind of scary. But anyway. But anyway mike it gets to this though it points to a future where we're gonna see a lot more tasks in the workplace and beyond that are automated thanks to robots. Yeah i watched that video and it's really cool. It puts an another point that actually puts in place a conveyor belt. That isn't there and then moves it to the right spot and empties. What looks like a boxcar boxes on that conveyor belt shootout wherever. It's go next. And like you said. I could see where the development of robots stretch you know. Make sense Robots can work any shift. And they don't get injured with a sore back from listen to me box right but the possible downside is this means more jobs possibly dispirit for people so there's some give and take there you know i mean i can see there's almost always got to be a human element but it could be done remotely watching a bunch of cameras because you've got. I saw. It picks up a box if someone didn't pie. Pack that bucks properly and it comes undone you've got stuff flying everywhere so somebody's gotta be prepared to take care of that. But very futuristic. I can see couples like amazon and walmart. You know costco's and places like that definitely in the market for stretch.
'Dedicated' ravens stealing groceries from Alaska Costco
"Costco shoppers and Anchorage, Alaska say they're being blindsided by Ravens who hang out in the parking lot waiting to picket people's packages. The birds are making off with food in the store parking lot, according to shoppers. One man told the Anchorage Daily News that two Ravens struck fast while he was packing his groceries in the car. He told the newspaper he was just 10 steps away when the birds came down and pluck the short rib from the card. When he got home, he noticed one of the birds actually pulled through the packaging of another rib. Lucky for him. He got Costco to take it back and got another one. "Mike is now off the podcasts. No kidding. Remember. Remember a few episodes ago I talked about Elf. The serial movie was turning into a cereal Kellogg's has decided to one up them and come out with their Elf on the Shelf Vanilla Candy cane cookie with marshmallows cereal. That's the full name of the product. The marshmallows are red and white look like chopped up candy canes, and so it basically tastes like candy cane, which if you recall from the Elf cereal, it didn't taste like Anne Kane. So as for gay for Kellogg's. Cereals should be in stores now, but it's in limited edition. So when it's gone, it's gone so you should go and get it. Okay, I have many many many questions and comments. First of all I don't know if I said this in the last podcast, I despise the movie L. Fighting. It's terrible I may be one of the only people who feel that way but it's a terrible terrible movie I apologize to anybody out there who likes it. but wait what is the Elf on the shelf? So it's like I think it's like an old time thing. elfin herself. No wait what do we mention a bench? That's another conversation. Know what I feel like wait. All right. So l a shelf is like an old school tradition where families would hide this little Elf around their house and it's like the kids would find it and he would get into mischief. No, you've never heard of this. It's ambitious. Already like it way more than the movie. So I'M GONNA try this serial. Then, there's mentioned a bench which was a shark tank. I think story where they were like one of the Jewish. Answer to L. Finish off mention bench. Okay. Moving on. anyways, you gotta go get that now and then I got one more here. If. You've been on talk over the past few days. You might have seen this the newest craze it's called cocoa bombs costco selling these. So appropriately on our costco episode, I bring this up. Their Christmas themed bombs and they come in four flavors, milk chocolates, Moore's strawberry and salted Caramel, and you're not familiar with what a Coke Obama is a ball chocolate with marshmallows in the middle and then pour hot water or hot milk over it, and then like explodes. Costco just start rolling these out in select locations, but they planned to release some than all the stores. So they should be near you soon. Okay. I am very happy that you just sort of solved a mystery for me because Dana Miller who is like one of the hungry girl I don't want what we call Dana. She's very close friend. She's a weight watchers sh I'm sorry she's a w w coach she is I don't know I would say I don't even want to. categorize. She's a very special person. She text me all the time with like different food fines and she said that we have to recreate these cocoa bombs and I'm like what the heck is of cocoa bomb and she sent me a link I couldn't open it. Then I got sidetracked and I never found out what a cocoa bomb was until just now Mike. So it sounds delicious and not like something we would recreate at all because how would we well but I know I know lilies baking chocolate is that No sugar baking chocolate I mean I know that. But what are we going to do melted and turn it into a ball that we could stuff marshmallows in and then? Yeah how Do how do you bake chocolate and turn it into a ball? No, it's just baking chocolate. So you melt it and then I think you just roll it around a marshmallow, right? Yeah. Well, you get like a mold that you could. To it's almost I. Think it's more research is needed. Confused like those cadbury eggs with the cream in the middle, but it's actually a full on marshmallow. So it's just a chocolate covered marshmallow no because I think. It's hollow. I'm imagining like a big ball when you like crack it open ten marshals. I can make that I am not telling I am not Sandra I cannot pull that do need you do need a mold. So it's basically like you melt the chocolate into a mold and then you get like a Little Cup shape. Okay and then I think you fill it with hetty close. The top has as the top with another one. Okay. low heat. You like gloom together with more chocolate you don't use glue, right? No use more chocolate. At our VELCRO. Remember there was a producer at the Rachel Ray Show I swear every time I went on that show. He would come up to me and say, can we please make edible tape? So we can close our burritos more effectively and still eat the tape. And we're. Having that idea. To our. Tier Portable treadmill or whatever it was. That was the big hit. All right are we ready to jump in? Okay. We are starting today with our first COSCO item. It is Naples Kitchen Hawaiian, style chicken fully cooked chicken that has char broiled. It's chicken thigh with Teriyaki sauce and pineapple, and it is found in the fridge section I. Know Because I found it looks so good I can't wait. It was less excited to see those chicken thigh because usually I am a chicken breast fan but I eat chicken thighs, your your abreast lady I'm abreast the lady as Jamie says that sounds terrible. Doesn't it? Okay, we're GONNA bite into this chicken thigh..

"I'm Chris Keppler and welcome to. Does this happen to you. I'm an actor voice actor audiobook narrator and writer. I love tilling and sharing stories about the strange experiences. My friends and I have have while doing mundane things like grocery shopping. That's why this podcast features funny stories from fantastic writers about our daily anomalies lease a micro audio book about life in befuddle men just for you our story. This week is from Linda. Horton who you'll defined on medium DOT COM and here is my love hate relationship with Costco. It's more love though. Oh my gosh I can avoid it no longer. I must go to Costco. And it's the absolute worst day to go Sunday Sunday. Saturday is bad to actually. It's always freaking packed. I realize we're all busy people and everyone here is as has stressed out as I am what they really need here is a bar when you walk in the door you get a drink a really. Cheap drink Kirkland brand beer. You're a wine. Only that'll hit the spot before embarking on the craziness that is Costco. But they don't have a bar and I'll just have to tough it out completely substance free. I mean there are people here with kids. How do they do it? It's strange but people seem seem to be inordinately polite and cheerful while shopping here hellish as the experience can be maybe they pumped something out through the Vance dance or there's some other subliminal trickery going on like how they do at Disneyland or maybe people just love this damn store. It's not just shopping for the essentials. Here it's so so much more you have to take advantage of the cheap gas along with everyone else in the free world waiting for a pump. The lines are long but we tough it out. It's totally worth it. I'll get that over with first since it's pretty painful then you drive around looking for parking spot and hope. It doesn't start raining on the long trek to the entrance. You have to grab a giant cart even if you only need a couple things as if you could ever emerge costco with only a couple of things. I mean there's stuff you have to get every time like paper towels and toilet paper. Oh the joy of having several months worth of paper goods there's protein bars. Kirkland brand is amazingly good and protein drinks. There's big bags of almonds and giant jars of peanut butter. Depending on how hungry I am. I'll grab a huge bag of kettle cooked potato chips. OMG I'm going to regret that it. There's yogurt and cottage cheese and coffee. I commit to eating clam. Shell package of fifteen large apples and a ten the pound bag of carrots. I have enough lacroix to last a few days. Yeah I drink a lot of that stuff. The baked goods are are insanely good but buying Cherry Pie. That is twenty. Four inches in diameter. Wouldn't be prudent and I already have the chips for my one bad thing but damn that pilots good. I contemplate patio furniture. Even though I live in a small condo on the second floor Cosco Frenzy is upon me. My car is loaded up with way more than a couple of things as I amber my way toward the checkout line wow the lines are long but these workers are efficient and always friendly strangely enough the line line moves briskly and as each item is scanned. I think about what a total pain in the ASS is going to be to lug all this stuff up to my place. It will take many trips and I'll always gas a little bit when the Grand Total is announced. Ouch but hey hey I could survive a natural or unnatural disaster for several months. Hold up with all this stuff. So there's that but wait eight. I haven't even gotten to the best part it's always a quandary wanted to get it. I mean at what point in the Costco Journey to get hit a piece of pizza hot cheesy Pepperoni deliciousness. Today I will pack up. My car returned to the store and get my I slice. This is not the typical order of events. It's typically slice then shop. I buy less stuff that way. Innate Lewis to say hungry shopping at Costco is dangerous. Oh and sometimes I get a strawberry Sunday to I wait to see how full royal after the pizza. Oh who am I fooling. I always get the damn Sunday. I could save a lot of time by just ordering both things at at once but no so I eat my pizza and ice cream elbow to elbow with the other Hungary and happy shopper seated at the plastic picnic tables with a full belly and car packed with stuff. Mike Costco experiences complete. Oh Oh how I love this place and how I absolutely dread my next trip back. Thanks so much for listening..

"No no that's totally a soup. It's totally a delicious soup. I would eat super. I would totally does the sauce to though yeah I don't I I would be okay so sauce a little mild but it's it tastes like soup up to me. It's good but it would be a good sauce on like chicken. It might be too mild for like Pasta. I'm thinking like what would you. What would you use? It doesn't suit -als with some cracked black pepper. I bet it would be good What if you don't want to crack pepper if you just want black pepper and it's not cracked okay? I said okay. Sure although nowadays it's so easy to have cracked pepper because they come already in those crackers bottles even trader. Joe's does that now trader does does everything Okay we're moving on to another shelf stable item. This is something like I'm a skeptic when it comes to beverages that have a lot of calories and this is a container. How many ounces is this container hold on thrown because there's a paper clip in one of our tasting ramifications like don't drink? This is Kirk Lynn Signature organic chocolate banana almond milk with plant protein. So we're big on almond milk. We love the Banana Almond breeze. That's not big on protein so this is a protein infused version of that. Of course comes with calories this one for eight point. Two five ounces has one hundred twenty calories three eight point five grams of fat four grams of fiber and ten grams of protein so and its workers rights. It's chocolate banana. The banana is what ninety calories a cup eighty. And it's just it's just like a different breed. I love that I love you. Jamie and Lisa both have little little tiny little one ounce shots. Give me more because this is to die for. Here's what it's incredible my God. This is what Aaron I were thinking about this. I mean you could have it as a drink. But we're thinking maybe it'd be good to add a coffee or something. Yeah that's what I always do. But I'm GonNa tell you something. This is to die for amazing. I want to swim in this tastes. He's like the best chocolate. Banana middleweight. Amazing I love that it has protein. It's worth it totally worth it. Well I'm glad we have a big giant COSCO OSCO case of it. Yeah four points and worth every one of them wow holy moly whilst. I'm not even like a chocolate milk. Person Sleeper head you you you have the milk mustache off. Aw stick a picture of that. That was amazing. Worth four points as Jamie says And I would add that into rotation in some in some fashion. The new morning iced coffee. That's going in Yum all right next. We have another product by Kirkland now. This is exciting because when we did our first to our first Costco Hall we found those protein bars that they had in the variety packs. They were such a bargain. They're like an answer to bars. But now they have new flavors so we're trying chocolate peanut butter and cookies and cream. Which is exciting because these bars have one hundred ninety calories between five and six grams of fat sixteen grams of fiber vertu grams of sugar? Twenty one to twenty two grams of protein and only four smart points. I can't remember what the sweetened do they come in one box with two flavors Yeah I love the cookies and cream. One is like blondie almost here. We go Tastes like cookie dough Just psychology. Oh it's a little teeny. I don't like it as much as the. Yeah we really liked the other flavors. But let's see how this one is peanut in a better one. I have higher hopes that cookies and cream ones out my twenty one to twenty two grams of protein and only two grabs a sugar. Do we say that We did. That's why I was asking what it was sweetened there. I go again not paying attention right food so this one I wanNA know o way better mhm better just like a peanut Butter Cup Chocolate peanut butter chunk chunk because it it has like slight saltiness Gluten free made with real peanut butter no artificial flavors. This is better than a lot of the ques- flavors from my opinion. I still like the cookie cookie dough one mind. Yeah but to me. It's cookie dough. Oh yes cookies and cream. It just tastes like too much like protein. And isn't the other one cookie dough not the ones we try before it was tweeted. It really was cookie Officially product the cookie dough recipe and just added some Oriole or something to doing your thing and made it lighter not as Tan. These are good because these are a bargain. I don't know how much the box was. But it was so cheap compared to how how much you like if you go to. GNC Or if you go anywhere by quest bar. They're expensive so this is a great way to say makes breaking out his received. He's looking he literally. HAS HIS COSTCO receive in in his pocket. He carries a close to his underpants boy. Oh boy it's only because I just submitted it for reimbursement how you expect to be paid back back for this one. We thought you like your job. Seventeen thousand nine. For How many bombarding twenty come in there right. So it's less than a dollar each what we know. It's more than a dollar each no but that's so chee how can be. I think it's twenty. We'd have to look at the box. I think it's twenty hope. It's not like three. It's it's a big box though. It is a bit box so it is a bargain. Okay very excited about this last product. I don't WanNa say we're we're saving the best for last because nothing we don't know but but it's called slim chillers skinny Freezer Vodka Martinis so this year. A whole slew of companies came out with those like alcoholic. Autre pops for lack of a better description and these are the ones from COSCO that we've been waiting and waiting and waiting to try and we finally found them how they come at the end of the the hot seat so weird they come in a bunch of flavors their vodka. Martini doesn't Apple. Teeny a lemon. Drop a watermelon lemonade and the very very sad cosmopolitan which does not freeze. Apparently because they've been in our freezer for two who full days and the COSMO is liquid. Yeah all of them frozen solid which is how they're supposed to be like an otter pop frozen solid they're really Sashi okay. There are a little slush but the the red one is complete juice. We'd how can we even try these. Because we can't cut them they're all like they're almost liquidity take flavor I was gonna cut the edge off and then you can each like take a a little bit and put it on all right. We're GONNA I'M GONNA I'm holding. The apple teeny really the way to eat. These is like to just put it in your face right. We had these is in our freezer for like three days and this is all right. There you go on that first step. We've got the lemon lemon drop Mike. You're going to have dogs. I was GonNa do you hate lemon drop though. I like lemon drop. This is Mr Clean Gross. That is the worst thing I've ever tasted. Let's young skies. Oh that's I don't care how drunk you what you need to have. Four of the taste. Clean up taste clean accidentally. You might. That's one hundred calories of sadness. You a shot you choose your flavor like these. Each come individually comes. Is it a big big all together to give give that one to the people. You don't like it your party and actually I do know what so tastes like parents may meets open ahead so upsetting out. Your parents like all right nowadays using watermelon lemonade pleasant uh-huh but also kind of bitter but pleasant. I liked a lot sweeter. This wonder threes once apple teeny. Is someone going to drink the cosmo no really. I really liked the pink. Lemonade apple to these little. You know I think that this product is a little more style over substance like I wanted to be way better than it. Is there like intensely sweet. The alcohol makes it too bitter. They're not they're not impressive. You know what it is. They probably use bad Ouaga. Maybe that could be way to have a good story. My cousin Kayla was dating a guy who had a company like this. He's a young guy in college. He had this new company. I was asking him questions and he could've gotten a shout out but he he broke her heart so just just really. So we're GONNA SHOUT OUT WE'RE NOT GONNA give you don't know what the name of the company we don't know oh PA. He broke her heart. And nobody messes with Kayla. That's the best one. COSMO is good Ya. That's the best one. Both all the fruits combined. Do you WANNA drink at Lisa lips absolutely. Oh that's okay. I don't care I don't care about your cooties I've had enough it is like Sangria even though it's it has like a Sangria connotates to it I do like Sangria. Yeah you should just drink that whole thing. I wonder why it doesn't freeze too much. Alcohol could be too much alcohol. Wow that's a lot anyway. The thing about these. The problem is it's one hundred calories a serving but isn't each of these two point. Well no it's it's like forty four calories disturbing but each one hundred dollars so the the whole pop is better okay. So the way it's listed on the by Dr but we did the fancy math and we're pretty sure these are four smart points each because you have to like separate the vodka and the regular calories but that's not bad but if you have a regular shot like if you do like a hungry girl drink that hundred calories probably less because there's no sugar in it and this is sugar whereas it all sugary. Oh so it's the same thing so this probably like crystal light for lack of a better option basically and it's probably less alcohol than it's not like a full shot great. Okay thumbs down all right here. We we we do have to say I'd like them except for the lemon. I think if if you're at a party and that was an like maybe a pool party where it's hot and that was in the chest cooler. Whatever I would think those would be Hit yes they might be except the lemon. Throw the lemon out right and they might be you know at those types of parties. I you know we have a lot of slush recipes and I like making slushies but rather than stand over the blender under for three hours and of course it's fall so we won't be needing those for another four or five months maybe it'll be frozen by them okay. Today's Costco. Aw I think it was a success. Huge Success I think we're GONNA see a lot of high numbers in these rankings. We'll see only time will tell all right. Let's take a trip to the fridge section for three bridges Spinach and bell pepper egg bites. I those were too delicious to not give a high mark but the calorie and fat counts are a little high. So I'm GonNa give them a seven point seven five very specific. I've never done that before. Lisa how did you feel about sausages by Amy Lou Organic Chicken Breakfast Sausage judge. I liked them. A lot of those eight solid sausage..

"Direction of like these products are for an off premise retail grocery store costco and these products are destined for fine wine shops and restaurants right and they are not the same anymore so way we're studying in the industry we're starting to steer that that traffic a little bit that way people feel a little bit more secure when they buy those when they buy those lines hard yeah also it's tough because some wine is labelled by variety right and some wine is labelled by the region and then some is just a made up name that some maker decided to like make a unique blend that's never existed before so what you're what you're trying to pick yeah like hot like my issue is i really liked tabs i like cabs that's an easy read for me to pick and if i go to a restaurant and they don't have specifically cabs i'm like okay what is like that and how do i know if it's a region or whatever so that's something you have to kind of learn to write is how to tell based on the labeling what it means because i think us has different requirements than other places for how much a percentage of that has to be a certain variety free to label it that name totally totally it's kind of why i do steer people toward that kind of chile argentina you know hemisphere realms because you'll find a lot of cabernet that is similar to what we grow just north in north america of course in california napa valley however it's it's still going to be kind of an english presentation on the label it's going to be easier to follow and understand whereas in other countries they might be able to more old school and how they label and how they they grow grapes so the second part of this whole entire conversation be climate right and so if you're looking for an agricultural product like grapes and you want the wine to taste the same as maybe well what other areas of the world function in terms of climate in a similar fashion because it's going to give you a result that tastes similarly to what you're looking for and so climate plays a big one i'm more of a science nerd and you know understand that but to the consumer yeah let's australia is a great example there's great australian cabernet out there was great cab from chile argentina it was great that that i think are more resembling a california style about french bordeaux french porto cabernet it nothing like how i mean they're vastly different that's interesting yeah there's so much to learn so makes it really hard and sometimes overwhelming right if somebody if you're a dinner with someone like let's say you wanted to impress a date and you don't know anything you can make you know it can be pretty difficult sometimes you can even describe what you think you like along with a type of wine that's nothing like what you ask for like i don't want anything dry and then you ask for a wine that's typically dry that's complicated to let that makes it hard italy do you have favorite outlet her website for people to kind of go to for the just the basic so they don't get totally embarrassed yeah that's a good question i don't i have more literature than i do web sites what's really good oh i got it go to wine folly it's fine f o l l y cool dot is that is the best i think they do really good maps they do a great synopsis from i i would say even a beginner to moderate plus kind of level they don't get extremely dorky where it's going to be you know putting yourself to sleep trying to read all this but they give a great oversight in the line and then there's also a book karen macneil does one called the wind bible and fantastic all right wine folly is the website and the wine bible is is the book okay before we let you go you have to do the one thing that everybody does but nobody expects spanish inquisition expects the spanish inquisition it's the spanish position it's the questions i ask everybody number one what's the natural talent you wish you were gifted with speaking every language oh that's such a good one i wish i i wish i even had just one that i automatically new without having to learn it number two what's your desert island album you can only have.
