"Early on that the ways we were living all odds waste all living all odds. And that's the culture was ill. I think another major moment is a wish about eight years old. See yep six nine years old and there was a weekly reader that we got in school and the weekly reader had a picture of the atom on and now it's kingdom nine hundred forty five so I knew that this was not see hope of future. I must must've known about the bomb must've known about the camps and in In the other hand which is a novel that that that are are wrote it. Just the to cohen's koa s of the twentieth century with champs and the bomb And that novel circulates around those two-concert what kinds of mind would create so to horrors. Yes and i think that we in the west have not taken responsibility get fit the ball or the camps everywhere yeah yeah under recreating them in our own loans. And so i live with that. That's the flavor of my mind and heart. Your father must have beaten extraordinary man to speak to his three year old. Who has seen the vision of spirit at the foot of her crib. And say that's my mother. And the world i grew up in i would have been told i was imagining it. No my father was a capitalist and he actually had family in london and the family was very psychic. I think he was trying to reassure me to work. Well i wasn't afraid. Okay and have you worked with that entity. Since i don't work with entities i have a sense of a spiritual universe and invite the spirits and i know people work with entities. I haven't but that's a wonderful idea. Manda she might have become the guiding light of your life. I don't i mean that was genuinely open question. I didn't know the answer. So i was trying to frame it in a way that kept. It kept it open. Lbj doubtless she would would be there so that again. He's given me a gift. You are kind and keep all righty so even in those bits of opening there are so many routes that we could take so we've explored childhood. Where did you grow up. You have an accent that i probably ought to build place as a kind of east coast american. I think east coast. I lived in a tiny neighborhood right next to coney island coney island in brooklyn which has a certain rights where to it. So i like to say. I come from coney island enough to real scary place. Yeah unquote urban. I'm imagining wealth was a peninsula and i could walk. It was surrounded by water on three sides. It was a little suburban area. But i would take the you know the trolley each of the trains of the city. I a do that And until i moved to california. I would walk through manhattan and say how could i be so lucky to be born here. Look up and skyscrapers and concrete and then nevada. How far can i get from the centers of power in order to have a substantial wife and that what california was in my mind and have you found the substantial life. Do you think well..

Three In the last two months, Austin FC explodes for four a 41 victory over the Portland Timbers last night. Beato You were there? Yes, I was was the place. I mean, I assume it was absolutely nuts. Hey, our guy from the upper What do you call that? Northwest says that Portland isn't trash that that was a good team that we beat producer Brandon Oh, said this during the break that that team was decent, Uh, the place is electric, so glad to get into Q two Stadium this much history was made last night, Jason and Ed The first goal ever. The most goals ever. First home victory ever your brother Beato, crushing 20 beers. Most beautiful, ever Slam. You sure stadium. Did you see any of the game? I would assume you're in the line the whole time. So where I was, man, he was V I p second. Got the really have linesman. Uh, And when you when you get to every time Yeah, we're sitting next to Matthew. Is that what I detect an accent here watching? I imagine he doesn't do a lot of ways to me that he doesn't do a lot of waiting in line. But dude, it was, I would encourage everybody and you can probably by one of Jason Dicks tickets on the secondary market to try and make it to an Austin FC game this season because that place is raising is going to be sold out in perpetuity. A lot of lot of young people there a lot of family, everybody. Yeah. Kids. Can't wait. People your age 49 year old nine year old. What are we today? 49 49 Year olds. Good, uh, young old Amazing. Can't wait to electric. Wonderful. Yeah, And that supporter section is nuts. Yeah. Very days. Do you think because of wife they've done at Austin FC, that the fan level of participation the emotions of will translate to DK R Texas Memorial Stadium. Uh, no, I don't. Even that's two separate things. When DK R opens at 100%, that place is going to be bananas. Especially when we host a ranked team for the first time back after a pandemic. Oh, my God, That's probably gonna be the craziest tailgates. You know, Jason, you're look at this face again, Ed. I can't put Debbie Downer can't push back against you on that beetle because I've already ruined my longhorn credibility. My longhorn credentials are in question after I At the end of two have a slightly less than enthusiastic reaction about what did we win the director's cut the director's cut governor's Cup. No, Look, Look, Voting is not a It's A It's not a secret. The DK R is not a It's not a raucous college football right? There he goes again. Go. I'm saying the new section opened up that long whore that cut out Longhorn. They've moved the student section. I'm telling you, Dude, this that first game verse Louisiana Lafayette is going to be In saying, and we've had e going to straighten on their hands. Jason a year of frustration, the days are gone when I would yell at Beato three sections over Oh, good to say about you know why the in Baton Rouge Tiger Stadium. That place is so nuts and thought of it that they're drunk because yes, Those are a bunch of slack, John. Their animals said Okay. They're barely human beings while at the University of Texas were dignified people, okay? And we we were intellectuals and we support our teams. We cheer. There's no reason. No. Uh, no. I think that's a totally different audience over there. But I think what I think what I'm saying is, I think The actions and what people do at very days. At least those whatever they do, I think it could carry over. If the excitement level two DK R. That's my point. Hey, Fourth of July, the biggest sporting event of the fourth of July every year. Hot dogs. Hell, Yeah, Hell, yeah. Joey chestnut going for Kobe Ask you back 14th mustard belt in 15 years. Kobayashi win one in there. Is that what happened there, man? I bear malone's fifty inch damn good your dick my penis. There are people that have a yes. I did see something i did. See something on the news. Were interviewing people like would you go back and they were saying yes because the there's something about a theater experience big screen everything on everything surrounding you and being with you. That's what they want. They don't want because they could sit home and watch and it doesn't have the same appeal even though they have the greatest sound. And i'll tell you also have to deal with asshole kids in the neighborhood right. That's the other parts and other in manhattan. They were talking to so they have a whole different outlook on no rest guy the nine out thing but it's still not used me. It used a piece on the to the movies and they immediately you go there now. There were constant. They've never left. Like you could tell like this is what they do. And it's great to see it. 'cause they get everybody involved with the day. It's an all the craziness me wait. Me and amanda. We're talking about this summer. Going of the coney island. I can't fuck him. Because i love it down there. Hey ain't nothing like it used to be. "I saw what people were doing with video and I became very very interested in that. So I got myself one of the forest, the digital video cameras. And I started when I started doing with it was I started making these little art movies that were like a minute or two minutes of various things like the rides at Coney. Island. Coney island which I always I always love and. I started trying to show these galleries but what happened was the galleries didn't really want it but I found out the film festivals really wanted it. and. So that led me to do more and more. More and more into documentary filmmaking, and so several documentaries I have a few than outright now. And them. Also with photography for got sidetracked for about three years. Why produce a an off Broadway show of the Tryout Theater New York City. And it was called Gotham burlesque and I was like a curator because I will curate all the act. So they acts would change every month. So I I was in the sound curator and I. I started getting. Kind of tired of it because I was doing with promoting other artists that are burlesque people were people that were Minor last. Cam from modern dance and also. theater visas. And So the the people were essentially. And I? It just started making me WanNa get back in the my own were and it made me a one of really start photographing people and I started I started doing matt rallies started again for me because I had done well in the in the nineties. With galleries But I never really did people and there was a woman who cam dillashaw one night and I there something very strange about or I mean, I I didn't know really whether she was a man or a woman. "Because we connect employers and people every day but today is different we're partnering with first responders government officials the medical community the innovators in the manufacturing transportation and food distribution industry to make sure we're finding the right people for the right jobs right now let's work together ziprecruiter dot com slash work together all the talk about re opening the economy as well should be because the fact is twenty two million Americans lost their jobs in the last month they're all sitting home and everybody is eager to get back to work and the question is what is the best way to get back to work the trump administration taking this seriously in reality people are gonna start getting back to work in many states by may first certainly in most states by may fifteenth by the middle of may Ben Carson the housing and urban development secretary he was asked about about the economy and he says listen all this talk about how like we have to wait till the matter is completely gone let's be accurate about this is never going to happen we need to re open we want to keep things going so that once the virus problem has been eliminated we can go back and it doesn't mean that we have to wait until every vestige of the virus is gone you know common sense would dictate that if we wait until everything is gone our economy will be gone also so we have to recognize that obviously you know there are risks benefits and risk and everything and we have to weigh those things and that's what a test forced us okay so that is the role of the task force not being pushed ahead no question by some of the protest and then breaking out in states across the country there's big protest Michigan there's big protest in Kentucky now one of the critics is being used against the protesters and really it's it's just bad PR for the protesters is that they're not socially distancing not wearing masks sharing food and all this don't deny the corona virus exists in our own lives guys like how bout this your whole contention which I think is a very good contention is I am responsible enough as a free human being to go out and not affect other people and to go back to work and enjoy life and either restaurant six feet away from somebody else and not in fact everybody around me and it seems fair to me thanks truly I think I'm I'm pretty much on board with that but you know to be a good way to demonstrate that is by actually engaging in responsible behavior at these protests so that you can give the media a baton to hit you with any smart way to do all of this because president trump yesterday he laid out a plan for reopening the states I think that the plan is actually too restrictive in some ways but president trump said some states could open relatively soon we're moving toward it I think twenty nine states are in that bowl game not open enough for opening but I think they'll be able to open relatively soon I think the remainder are just getting better left New York New Jersey I haven't the tough times and they'll be there they'll be there some point but they're not going to be one of the earliest I took it a bit later obviously but we have a lot of states that two location to lock and also through a lot of talent we have stage to a lot of talent or a very good position and they're getting ready to open and over the next very short period of time it's going to be up to the governor's not very as governors are taking advantage of this Alabama has already announced that they are going to reopen some businesses immediately the Alabama lieutenant governor will Ainsworth and small business emergency task force on Friday unveiled a plan to reopen some small businesses in the state immediately apparently Kay Ivey took only took part in phone calls the Alabama governor took part in a phone call with the trump administration on Thursday to discuss the efforts to combat coronavirus and the governor says the day she is moving toward a decision to re open large swaths of the state governor Greg Abbott in Texas says that they are going to allow retail establishments you basically all go take out so if you wanna buy something from Macy's you'll be able to stop swing by the front door and pick stuff up from Macy's which makes sense now these stores and inventory wanna buy online and pick it up and make some sense other states are holding off more buildup Lazio New York he says well you know we might close beaches for the entire summer which is a hell of a tank I mean we don't even know where things are gonna be in two months the sort of long term estimates are very bizarre considering that this is changing day by day here is the mayor of New York imagine Coney Island the Millis summer hundreds of thousands of people and you know I've I've been on Coney Island Coney Island on that beach many times hundreds of thousands of people packed tightly together like I don't see that happening anytime soon so then obviously you could have a situation where people can go to the beach to walk along the beach but not in large numbers anytime soon but the notion of having lifeguards and people coming to the beach like normal we don't have that in our sites yet I think it's going to be tough to project right now I'd say lower expectations just for everyone's sanity lower expectations okay meanwhile Andrew Cuomo says that the entire state wide lockdown is basically extending until may fifteenth makes more sense in places like like New York and it does in other places in the country because New York of course the epicenter of all this year is governor Cuomo to close down policies will be extended in coordination with other states to may fifteenth I don't want to project beyond that period that's about one month's one months is a long time people need certainty and clarity so they can plan I need a coordinated action plan with the other states so one month will continue to close their policies what happens after then I don't know now this is not mean that these governors are actually doing these clothes the shutdown policies in a responsible fashion governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey put out a bizarre order where he suggested that you can go out to religious services but you can't go in person religious services but you can if you socially distance is not it is very confusing Tucker Carlson had on the show and said to him so what about the constitution and your order which seems to specifically single out religious institutions like you can have a blanket ban on gatherings about the certain size but specifically signal a single out religious institutions that's unconstitutional governor Phil Murphy I do not have a great response by what authority did you notify the bill of rights in issuing this order how do you have the power we were that that's above my pay grade soccer so I wasn't I wasn't thinking of the bill of rights we do this we went to all of first of all we looked at the data science and it's as big people have to stay away from each other and that is a horrible answer I wasn't thinking of the bill of rights they have horrible answer is not above your pay grade you're the governor of the state so you want to find a policy to find your policy now in Ohio governor DeWine has suggested some businesses may in fact re open by may first yeah this is about to enter a new phase we have to get that Ohio economy moving again we have to get people back to work he didn't commit to allowing the state home or to expire as scheduled on may first he didn't identify restrictions but everybody is is moving pretty swiftly toward the notion that we are going to have to have a phase reintroduction of business he didn't say when the K. through twelve schools are going to be re opened he says will deal with the schools shortly and Mike DeWine also suggested that we don't want to go back and then have a disaster huge spike in the number of people who test positive in the hospital that would be a disaster so we need to be safe and how we do all of this all of this can be done cautiously and carefully and that is what the White House is recommending as well in Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer has left all sorts of caution behind in Michigan there's one area she's definitely keeping up and that is abortion clinics so if you get elective surgery for a hip replacement then that is on hold but if you need to kill that baby that's definitely still on the table in Michigan we'll get to that in just one second first let's talk about the about you're using to listen to shows like this one I think but I mean really then the wires connected to them you bomb a permanent pocket now they're all just tied up and you can't extricate them or yeah I was I don't figure you're properly because the one size fits all why don't go try everyday each.

"Hey welcome all the talk about re opening the economy as well should be because the fact is twenty two million Americans lost their jobs in the last month we are all sitting home and everybody is eager to get back to work and the question is what is the best way to get back to work the trump administration taking this seriously in reality people are gonna start getting back to work in many states by may first certainly in most states by may fifteenth by the middle of may Ben Carson the housing and urban development secretary he was asked about about the economy and he says listen all this talk about how like we have to wait till the virus is completely gone let's be accurate about this is never going to happen we need to re open we want to keep things going so that once the virus problem has been eliminated we can go back and it doesn't mean that we have to wait until every vestige of the virus is gone you know common sense would dictate that if we wait until everything is gone our economy will be gone also so we have to recognize it obviously you know there are risks benefits and risk and everything and we have to weigh those things and that's what the test forced us okay so that is the role of the task force not being pushed ahead no question by some of the protesters in breaking out in states across the country there's big protest Michigan there's big protest in Kentucky now one of the critics is being used against the protesters and really it's it's just bad PR for the protesters is that they're not socially distancing not wearing masks sharing food and all this don't deny the corona virus exists in our own lives guys like how bout this your whole contention which I think is a very good contention is I'm responsible enough as a free human being to go out and not affect other people and to go back to work and enjoy life and either restaurant six feet away from somebody else and not affect everybody around me and it seems fair to me thanks truly I think I'm I'm pretty much on board with that but you know to be a good way to demonstrate that is by actually engaging in responsible behavior at these protests so that you can give the media a baton to hit you with that is the smart way to do all of this because president trump yesterday he laid out a plan for reopening the states I think the plan is actually too restrictive in some ways but president trump said some states could open relatively soon we're moving toward it I think twenty nine states are in that ball game not open enough for opening but I think they'll be able to open relatively soon I think the remainder are just getting better left New York New Jersey or haven't the tough times and they'll be there they'll be there at some point but they're not going to be one of the earliest I took it a bit later obviously but we have a lot of states that two location to lock and also through a lot of talent we have states through a lot of talent or a very good position and they're getting ready to open and over the next very short period of time it's going to be up to the governor's various governors are taking advantage of this Alabama has already announced that they are going to reopen some businesses immediately the Alabama lieutenant governor will Ainsworth and small business emergency task force on Friday unveiled a plan to reopen some small businesses in the of having lifeguards and people coming to the beach like normal we don't have that in our sites yet I think it's going to be tough to project right now I'd say lower expectations just for everyone's sanity lower expectations okay meanwhile Andrew Cuomo says that the entire state wide lockdown is basically extending until may fifteenth makes more sense in places like like New York and it does in other places in the country because New York of course the epicenter of all this here is governor Cuomo flows down policies will be extended in coordination with other states to may fifteenth I don't want to project beyond that period that's about one month one month is a long time people need certainty and clarity so they can plan I need a coordinated action plan with the other states so one "On zero hour. This is Richard RJ ask how as a former resident of New York City and someone who had a life. They're playing music, and and the days when there were many places to play music and survive as a musician and the seventies and early eighties. I have been reading our next guests blog off for a long time. And he's also written a book coming from the blog. The blog is called Jeremiah has vanishing New York, and it is a book of lamentations as he puts it for the many closings around the city of New York of landmark retail stores and restaurants and other places, and it's been a grim fascination of mine for awhile now to follow this journey this man laying of. Vibrant city. And I wanted a wanted him on the show for a long time. There was recently an article couple months ago and vox about the death of small businesses in big cities reference his work, and he is the author of a book entitled, vanishing New York. How a great city lost it sold. Jeremiah moss is the pen name of Griffin hands Burri. He's been publishing a number of other places as well. And he has written a novel is hands-free entitled them style. Just and he works as a psychoanalyst in private practice in New York City joins us now. So shall I call you Jeremiah Griffin? What do you prefer? In Jeremiah, context, Jeremiah's good. Thank you. Okay. Great, Mike and tell you my pseudonym story at some other point. But first of all. One of the reasons why I became addicted to reading your blog is. That for a long time. I felt that the New York City I knew with all its scars wounds and dangerous and so on and I don't romanticize all of those things I've been robbed at knifepoint saw. But. That it's been replaced by something of a theme Park, New York city that the real New York City as psychological syndrome, you I'm sure, you know, the name of this you do that for a living where you think the people around you are impostures look like the people were are. It seems as the New York City of today when I go there, and I go there pretty often is like theme park where you can go and pretend to be somebody who went this. GB's or or the birthright center or the strand bookstore or on and on? It's not there's no authenticity there. And it's like a Potemkin village, and it seems to me that what you've been documenting is that surgical removal piece by piece is to be vibrant city is that kind of your motivation is at on this on the nose for you is it off that was I think could beautiful. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm not sure that I had that sense. Exactly. When I was starting to blog, I started in the summer of two thousand seven and the process was really in its earlier stages at that point. But. At this point. That's exactly what we're looking at a theme park. I think the theme park is a really good way to put it because theme park is not like we're talking about Coney Island Coney Island is an as an old type of newsmen park where you have a hodgepodge, you have secrecy and eccentricities a theme park is really planned right in it's planned around a theme and everything. With that team. And if it doesn't fit in with the theme, it's not going to be there. So there is this sense that. If it doesn't fit in with the theme of the new New York, if it isn't as glossy kind of manufactured object that comes down from mostly down from corporations, it's not permitted, and that's almost a feeling ever. Like when you're saying, you know, these places. Are being body snatched? Right. It's almost as if there's this forced it's they're saying, no, not this. This isn't belong. It's too old. It's too dirty. It's too Smellie's too chaotic complicated. And we have to get rid of it. Yeah. I mean, I think that what happens too is that obviously what goes along with the businesses can't survive it's harder and harder for middle class. People live there if any do anymore, and I just feel that the sense of places gone there there. No there there quote to use a famous quote, so. And I guess my question for you is what motivated you to start documenting these closures? I mean, it's a grim kind of tally that you've been doing. And I know I notice on your blog that you say you you're winding down now. But you've spent more than ten years sort of chronicling the passing of landmark institutions large and small. What what was impelling you to do that? I think it was. A sense of the loss certainly and a way to deal with the emotions that I was having to anger, and the grief and sadness and also a feeling of of shock because oftentimes. Could be walking down a familiar block. And maybe you haven't been there for a couple of weeks or a month, and the sense of orientation would come over me because something would be missing or or half the block would be gone and replaced by something else that was happening rapidly. And still is. So I think I think that was part of it and really fueled by an obsessive nece. I mean, they found myself this really sort of took over. My free time when I wasn't working taking classes it really. Filled. I think it was a way I sort of analyze it. And he was a way to kind of get some control over something that I have absolutely no control over. So the way making art or taking pictures or something going to be a way to kind of capture and hold something and give it some meaning give it some form because otherwise it just feels so bewildering an overwhelming. So I think maybe those big part of it for me. There's also an again, we're talking with Jeremiah moss who is author of the vanishing New York blog and the advantage New York book, there is also. For for literary reasons I never particularly cared for this line. But as a line and death of a salesman says attention must be paid that somehow what I get from reading. I don't know if this was your intent in writing it was at these places these beings of geography, and culture and economics that existed in sometimes existed for a long time. They're vanishing should not go on mart inside way. It's almost like leaving a stone at an altar or something. But I also what I also got out of your writing wise, a political sensibility in the sense of not the sense of that perhaps of the typical left right spectrum. But. That perhaps you wanted people to be aware of the larger forces that were the sort of flowers of individuality. Climbed up through the concrete is that true. I mean to what extent was a political sensibility. Responsible for all of this. Absolutely, a political sensibility. And also a sense of. Reality right. Because what what what happens a lot when I on the blog or or having conversations with people about the changes of New York is I often hear people say, well, New York's always changing, and this is just another set of changes. It's it's it's nothing different. And that it's natural. It's always been this way. These are the kind of come to think of them as means that sort of lawless and not really thinking critically about what's really happening. So a lot of the book, which I which I found I had a hard time joining the blog because blogs are so episodic book, I can really kind of ask the question. How is this change different from other types of urban change of the past? And how did we get here? How did this happen? So I got to really kind of answered that. And and to provide a rebuttal to those who would say this is normal and natural. A no big deal. It's not natural. It's engineered. It was planned. It continues to be engineered and nobody is stopping it. So it really is the product of a philosophy at a set of public policies that are in line with that philosophy which is basically neat neoliberalism. The idea that the rich should rule, and we need to regulate and how small government and money will trickle down which we know it doesn't know all that stuff. What it's about. And I would think that the absolute rebuke to that political philosophy not that there haven't been a million of them, including the two thousand and eight financial crisis. But rebuke in the context of New York City is if I remember my statistics right more roughly fifty percent of the population of New York, those below the poverty line. And if that's correct or anything close to that is correct. I'll have to check. But I think a lot of people in New York City are poor even now, and you know, you go as I sometimes go for meetings in Manhattan, or whatever you think where are they and how is it possible? Even get to. I mean, when I lived in the city at one point I lived on the Upper West side and worked downtown, and that was a tough commute, and how do people get from the outer boroughs, how do people get from shirts? You really have the city now with a permanent overclass in a permanent underclass as you say. Nobody's natalie's. Nobody doing anything about it. We have the Amazon deal. Now, we're gonna right all of their for the worst the landscape of queens, make less affordable. And so so, I guess. As you phase. It seems to me like you may be transitioning into a new phase if you're winding down the blog, and so on does political activism have a role in all that. Thank. I think it does. I mean, I think I see a lot of people who are getting more and more politically active in anti anti gentrification. But also questioning this system the system that we've been living in an oligarchy for for quite a while. And of course, it's not just New York. It's all America. But it started in New York in the United States. So. The events. I've had around the book people, and I hear more and more. I see more and more a lot of young people who are getting activated. You know and taking action which is which is fantastic. For me. My political action activism has always been to writing. I think I would call myself a discursive activists more than anything else than I sort of dipped my toe in the water of getting up podiums and screaming at crowds. And I've found it's really not my style. So. I'm going to find a different way to do it. I'm not sure you know, where to go with this. After the blog. It's a lot of work in early years. I was. I was posting every day five five days a week, and then sort of cut back from there, and I'm doing some other writing and just kind of taking a little space from it. I don't think it'll go away entirely. No, I that's good to hear. And I guess I would close with this. As I mentioned to you when we were making the digital cash from before we began the segment that you know, to me is when whenever I go to New York City, I there's certain blocks I dread to walk down. Because I know that someplace that I knew and frequented for many years, we'll be gone or is likely to be gone. And I mentioned compared to the sunshine of the spotless mind where these different aspects of your memory, just vanish almost while you're looking at them. And I guess I'm going to ask you to sort of access the two sides of your brain simultaneously. If you're willing and say, you know, how does a person like me with a history in New York City reconcile the sense of loss with the desire to keep going to see my friends there to do the things, although there are fewer and fewer of those two. It turns out, but for for civil reasons, but. How do you know? How do I live with this? I guess. You know, I'm still figuring that out for myself and. There are a lot of days. I fantasize about about leaving New York. And a lot of it is that there are fewer and fewer and fewer places that I want to go. There are fewer shops. I wanna shop at restaurants. I wanna eat at and the people have changed too. I was I was talking to a friend yesterday about this about how the feeling in the streets. The New Yorkers have vanished. The people who are here. Now. So many of them are not the same kind of New Yorkers. We used to have they don't seem to actually know how to conduct themselves in a CD. They don't seem to be city people. And I think that a lot of them are temporary tourists and a lot of them are long-term tourists. So here for maybe four or five years, they're going to leave. So there is this sense of constant turnover. How do you how do you live with that? I don't know. It's it's it's jarring. It's a it's a kind of again, a disorienting experience. I think I haven't yet figured out how to grieve the loss of New York, and I'm going to be working on that for a while in my own analysis. All right. Well, good for you. And I will close we've had the science fiction writer, Kim Stanley Robinson show couple of times and his one of his latest. Now, he posits the New York underwater in the future and New Yorkers find a way around it. And I'll tell you what if we if New Yorkers don't find a way around this. We'll just build our own New York somewhere else and future generations that there, but Jeremiah rods. Author of vanishing New York and the vanishing new book and the blog. Thanks for your great documentation of the city that I love and thanks for coming on the program. Thanks so much for having me, and we will be right back after this. I'm Richard R J s Cowan this is this is our. You're listening.
