All I can tell you is that maybe methods don't even though it's an allowed drug, many therapeutic medication. We did not give it. I bet Neri and nobody here would be that minute bag. "The level on the go trucks got cash, cloudy and rainy overnight with an even Rainier Mother's Day. I'm shallow Kabbalah. Here's what's trending this hour and Indianapolis Man is facing several felony drug charges after police searched his home. The investigation began in April when I m p D got an anonymous tip about 21 year old Devon McManus, who was dealing drugs out of his home on in the Southwest side when searching his house. Sure enough, I m p d confiscated £10 of marijuana, 11 guns and more than $23,000 in cash. McManus now faces six felony drug charges. Including dealing a narcotic and dealing marijuana. The Colts have wrapped up their four day virtual fund raiser for mental Health Awareness. Rob Condit reports on how much money the team raised for kicking the stigma more than $2.2 million. But Colts owner Jim Mercy then matched that for a grand total of $4.5 million from mental health initiatives. Fundraiser included auctions and a round table where players talked about their personal experiences, including new quarterback Carson Wentz gone through a couple injuries in the NFL, like I've been able to see it differently now, when I.

Medina Spirit Wins the 147th Kentucky Derby

"And he did so from Churchill Downs where history was made at this year's Kentucky Derby trainer Bob Baffert winning his record 1/7. Run for the Roses effort, hadn't said much about Medina spirit and didn't expect to see many reporters around his bar and ahead of Derby. I'm sure I won't see you the rest of league, but I appreciate you guys coming by talking to me. Oh, you have to go back to the days when there's hardly anybody here. At the 15 to 1 colt changed the narrative with a half length win in the run for the Roses to give Baffert his seventh Kentucky Derby. The most in history came in under the radar, and I just know I want to come in here bragging or anything like that. You know, horsemen getting beat, you know, and so for him to win just happened, you know, so Heavily favored essential

"Dallas is always a big one that we've got California Um So there is that permission right now that they can't go if they want to go. That's something that will look for and find out. If if the courts decide to go to Grand Park or not, They can't do it. If they want, at least to this point. That was one of the latest things to come out. So we'll keep an eye on that, too. But Mainly, we're still just wondered exactly what can happen when it can happen. And and so coming out with some of these timelines was good today. That's something that we learned. And then we also know that this rookie minicamp. They only have so many guys that they could bring in and also year which I think they only had supplied a draft of free agents that they signed their head on the block. The other positions tied up. So if you've got five and then you get your draft picks, and then there's sort of a handful of guys that you could request to come in for this work. Eat mini camp. There's there's not really gonna be that the tons of guys to be able to go 11 on 11, so they've had to, um, kind of tone back on some of things to get beat the coaches. They go out on the field do some things. By this far is 11 on 11. Stop getting a true rookie minicamp in like they normally do. I'm not able to do that this year. So that's why these these workouts are gonna be so important. Goth EMA Ryan. Guys do come for that. The 25th to the temple and then the mandatory minicamp 15th of the 17 gets you ready right before camp starts a few weeks before you get ready for camp. Would I be wrong in assuming that having a veteran group like like the Colts do with what 20 of 22 starters coming back is something into an advantage? Given all those restrictions you're talking about or differences in terms of how they handled things in the past. It really does, I think underscores how important having a veteran group is. It is and it be veteran by youthful. That's the other thing that's great about him. It's not like they're old by any stretch there, actually one of the youngest teams in the NFL, and that's because Chris does like to build through the draft. And so no, it's an enormous benefit. But the main thing that the Colts and it's really with any team Culture only gonna be as good as their quarterback, and so getting Carson Wentz, maybe getting to know you know the guys around getting to know his weapons, getting timing built in and doing all those things gonna be so important that I know he's excited for the weapons that he's got. He should be excited because he's gonna be protected is gonna be excited. Have a running game, too. But really the cold success squares fall is fall squarely on his shoulders. How well he performs this How well this Steve Bennett did you know you as well? Armor. Linemen of some reputed you were plating two Super Bowls. You understand this? And while I understand it's concern about your left tackle position. Clearly you can scheme your way. Torun extra body or do something, can you not? Obviously if you give up something to get something, I'm sorry, too. You got about a minute to try to answer this, But scheme's gonna be important Is it not? It absolutely is, But that's the thing that the defense also has to their favor. When you get a guy that's not You know, it is maybe not quite as good or you know, is an average player. You can scheme against him. Also. And so that's where you would find a J. J. Watt hot, You know, I mean, I just think it's about some of the best Russians in the league. He would line them up over that guy a lot.

"Matt dollinger. Senior editor at the ringer and former lowly intern of the two thousand colts with the twenty first. Pick in the twenty twenty one. nfl draft. The indianapolis colts select aziz osha. Laurie out of georgia. I'll be honest. I'm tempted to take jones here. Because i obviously don't trust carson wentz but diseases the best pass rusher in the draft and he might be undersized but so we're dwight frene ian robert mathis. I like that. Wow that was. That was concise all encapsulated. That was how can tell intern with the two thousand nine colts. I love that colton play. They inspect so oziel ours. Your number one pass rusher. Why did you all twenty one here. And he's everyone else really dumb for not listening to you No i so know. I think this this rusher classes bachelor. Classes vary Hard to predict what how the or of the these guys are gonna come off the board. I think with oh jewelry. It's because he's a little undersized as don mentioned he's he's six foot two so that's generally speaking like shorter than you wanna passer should be however he does make up for it with incredible length. His a really wide wingspan long arms Good burst bend. I like skill set. you know. He had some really impressive russia's where he like. You almost looks like von miller where you're like bending around the corner getting really low dipping your shoulder and getting back to the cornerback So i think there's a skill set to work with their but yet speaking of the pastors for classes just basically. There's no one clear elite guy in the class. And whether it's you know a russo or jalen phillips or og. Larry couple of other guys is basically pick your flavor. Whatever type of player. You'd think has chance of succeeding in your scheme. I could see any of these guys be the first pass. Rusher pick

Lauren Hough: Leaving Isn't the Hardest Thing

"This is lgbtq. And a with lauren. Huff offer of leaving. Isn't the hardest thing. I want to start with your childhood. You grow in the family which is also known as the family of love which is also known as children of god and it was a colt in reading the book. I discovered that. I didn't actually know what that meant. In like everything that entailed so just to begin with you. Give a short explanation to everyone of what that looked like for you. It's a lot more mundane. I think than people want it to be. I think people are expecting a lot of rituals maybe robes involved. It was living in with a lot of other people a lot of families. It was changing diapers constantly because sex colts make babies and very historical look male female gender roles right yet extremely very much reinforced. Not not just through the literature Jobs whenever you moved into a new house the boys would get setup. Building bumped beds for our beds at night and we would be so in curtains or taking care of the kids so that they adult men could go to the bunk beds and the women could cook dinner so colt is a word that we have assigned to them internally though how did they describe themselves as they're not a cult. Nobody's ever joined a cult or been in a colt. Everyone else's in occult. They are a religious sect in their persecuted and called a colt as a slur. The that's how it was discussed internally and that's what it was presented to as the mainstream media and the system might media is trying to attack us by calling the called. I mean just because we live together in a big group and follow later that we think is the prophet of god and tells us heaven is in the moon. That that's not a colt. Will i think that like everything you just said could very well be assigned to like religious beliefs by religions. Generally we get into a lot about but really the main differences occultist smaller if it has a lot of members in it's lasted a while. Now it's a

"Adam neiman. How are you. Thanks for coming back on the show. I'm well how are you sean. I'm hanging in there. Adam were talking about colts colt movies and where they come from what they really mean to us today and you know i wanted to talk about bad trip on the show and i couldn't figure out who to talk to about it and then i noticed that you were a fan of bad trip now. I don't know if bad trip. Is it going to qualify as a cult movie but it feels like it's in the spirit of some other movies that have come along over the years. Would you make of this prank comedy from eric. Andre the i ve very good time watching bad trip as i think you did as well which is an. It's an extension of what he does. Sometimes on his tv work right. This kind of spont- spontaneous haphazard Using the materials of reality almost as props you know and he's fearless in the way that some of those other extemporaneous comedians. Sacha baron cohen. Dr voted also reminded me of the. We won't go too quickly into the cult thing yet that reminded me of jackass. Just in the extremity of it. I mean i happen to think jackass was very good for culture and probably belongs in the louvre museum and the smithsonian in the hall of fame is one of the great things ever for me for lotteries in But also just that idea of the body and extremity and feeling like something is both very kind of disgusting and unembarrassed of being disgusting which is kinda gets into the territory of cults. 'cause cult is all about taboos and breaking them in exceeding them. But you also want to be too pretentious about delay. This is a movie. Where to people's penises get stuck in a chinese finger trap or where people projectile vomit or just absolute insane exchanges in public spaces and maybe was just my mood. But i found it like just devastatingly funny from from beginning tent and laughed kind of the way i laughed at stuff like jackass and borough which is this very liberating

The rise and maybe fall of YouTube star David Dobrik

"I'm here with cat sandbars insider who wrote a blockbuster expose Last week that is having repercussions this week about david dobric and the influence our world and i wanna talk through all of it. I welcome as the much for having me whenever i talk about influence or a youtube person. I feel like i keep saying the same thing where there's a rochard test. Which is there's a big part of our audience who will know who we're talking about an equally significant portion of audience. Who doesn't know who we're talking about. So let's set the stage briefly. Who who is david dobric. And why is he important. David break is one of the biggest names on youtube. He started his comedy career on vine back in around twenty teen and so his short form comedy is what made him really popular Over the past couple of years on youtube he's become one of the most widely followed widely talked about creators and his perception is that he's extremely beloved. He's well known for having a large friend group that he films doing a lot of comedic stunts in improv style skits and he uploads four minute twenty second blogs that have been wildly successful both from a social media standpoint as well as a monetary standpoint. You're my vague. Sense of him is that he's a goofy guy who enjoys having fun. I've seen a lot of videos of him showing off things. He's bought with the money that he's made being a youtube star like a crazy mansion. That has a funny dispenser. That what i think soda comes out of it or something. That and that's my sense of him So he's got this posse of people vlog squad which i had not heard of until this week so i feel very old. So tell us what you wrote about last week. And why it's important so over the past few months Former members of the log squad. Friend groups that david talked about in his blogs have come forward to talk about experiences that have been less than positive One of the former members described it as being like a colt Another former member said he was sexually assaulted by one of the

"Potentially a watkins or brown who can really make that. Rpo game sing. And and so. That defense is just can't key in all the time on andrews would be really helpful to them. They're still also at a melvin ingram. They still need to pass rusher. So i looked at novarum there for the ravens is well. Dorie jackson just signed with the giants. Sweet discuss that a little bit earlier. That's that's a nice singer. Interesting teams interesting. I like that defense a lot. All right last question. The bucks ran it back. The chiefs did address their offense line. Though they're still issue left tackle right now as things. Stand at the end of free agency for the draft. Do you think a rematch is the most likely outcome. You know i wrote this after The super bowl and the chiefs big issue. I mean i think we all looked at the injuries on the offensive line for the chiefs right and and pass rush all that but it was discipline for these teams where the bucks through weeks one through five. Were the most penalized team in the nfl. Through six through seventeen they were the least penalized team in the nfl. Right brady brought that patriot. Way got those guys into shape. Meanwhile the chiefs twelve penalties in the super bowl. Like you guys have been there before and you were playing this undisciplined ball now. That's an andy reid team you go back and look at it naturally game. He was like hey. It was uncharacteristic of us. And then you heard. Chris jones kind of blaming the rest will the chief since twenty eighteenth bathroom. Hold sock over. Our second. Most penalized team in the entire. Nfl over that time. So you know. I think that mahomes is great enough. I believe that there changes to the offensive line are solid enough including my buddy kyle long. I believe that their defense is consistent enough to make it back to the super bowl. But if you're going to continue to play undisciplined bowl you will not win again especially against a team. That is the most disciplined in tampa bay buccaneers. So i after the super bowl a lot more concerned about the chiefs defense chiefs offense. Because i was like whoa. I didn't learn anything about the chiefs offense in this game right. Leisure any quarterback behind that offense line would be bad and maybe there was some coaching. Ariza should run the ball like a couple of times about getting whatever. I'm glad that the address offensive line tuni a lot of money. Kyle long not a lot of money like i said. They need to hit left tackle. I think they brought back a couple guys as well but the defense like i didn't expect them to target that free agency but they need is like your one thornhill for example or even a frank clark to be more consistent and i think that to me is limiting factor for the chiefs in their ability to go back to the question to get back there and win that to me is it. It's not something on the offense The bucks brought back. Everyone pretty much except for sue leonard. Fournette else leave. Yes ooh wonderful. Ab and table of those green may come back. Yeah pretty much so like yeah on paper back. It's i guess it's just it's really hard to make it back. I that's not. It's kinda lame. But like i like the i did not think they're going to be able to keep all those guys. The guys all took team friendly deals. And all of them godwin's franchise tag but like shaq barrett. Did i think he's great in that scheme. I think i don't think losing sue is going to be a huge issue I think the secondary is probably gonna be better. And i also think the offense like yes. Brady's older but they also started putting it together in terms of the actual play calling at the end of the season so like right now and the offensive line is young so if i had to pick a team from the nfc to make it i would go buck so yes i right now as of this day march twenty second i m picking the bucks chiefs and then chiefs to win it though. I can't wait for you to be wrong all right last few questions and now it signed for dinks and dunks. I'm getting paid for this right drinks. Don's is presented by draftkings america's top rated daily fantasy app. Download the draftkings out today and use code meena to get in on all of the action as always five questions for my guest for from me. One from lenny who. Jonathan is not mitt. So that's gonna make it even more awkward when he asks a offensive question all right coming up draft very soon maybe a lot of coverage in this space promise which call it which player like draft prospect first round. Are you the most in love with. Oh that's a good one I'll i'll throw one sorta top. Ed and i'll travel. I really do like justin fields. And i liked justin fields in large part. Because you know first of all everyone saying like oh he needs to go through his progressions more and figure out his reads. And it's like okay. Well understand what ohio state's offense was doing understand how they were just absolutely marking their opponents. In how little. He actually did have to do that. But also like you go back and watch. I think it was rutgers game. That dude is absolutely going through. His reason. Progressions and lighting up the defense. So i am excited to And then you hear all the smoke from teams like texting around with a with a bunch of different team sources. And they're like oh no i. I don't think he's gonna fit us and it's like okay. You guys are already planting smoke battery. Weekly so i had no clue where he's going to go. I think everyone is is is saying like oh he will get out of the top four. I don't know who's going to go up to get him. Carolina any sincere account i mean. Maybe candidate You they're not going to do a deal. With the falcons at four and so the jets are and so. It's all it's miami. They're just gonna an auction right. They should do you see fields ran a four point four one. I think i mean you don't self time. That's so i've watched all of. I re watched all of his twenty twenty games like the bad games indiana northwestern rather to like once Northwards from was was. Yeah that's the that's what really jumps out to me is his speed. Those games I'm his toughness. In like physicality i mean the dude is. He's a tank so that i agree with everything you said. I really liked us appeals. I like that answer a lot. All right. can you give us a recommendation for a podcast. That is not about football. Who no i cannot. I do not listen to podcasts. What okay tainting question. That's incredible a content. Will the Lawsuits Against Watson Stall 1st-Round Picks?

"At this point. There have been thirteen civil lawsuits. I think got it is literally not trying to make light of its changing by the hour. Sarah barshop covers. The texans for us is constantly reporting these new lawsuits alleging sexual harassment. Or in some cases. Assault against the shawn watson I have just been sitting back waiting for the news to come in reading the suits. Watson's lawyers have not responded in full yet. I think there's going to be much more like a. We're going to get not just more information. But also kind of someone kind of synthesizing all of this and explaining what it means for watson and i'm not talking about football just like what it means for his future in and what it means for these women forward i like. I'm not i haven't been doing this. Just been kind of going with the news and waiting for it. All of this. As like. I find i have found the discourse on it already to be incredibly toxic and dispiriting and the whole story. It's very sad in. It is definitely it also coming at this crazy moment. Where if this like literally a week ago. You and i probably on shows talking about. Will this team's going to do this. And this team that we just don't know now. So i just like i have no idea how this is going to play out. Not just for the accusers for him. But all any of the teams involved in this including houston. It is a black box at the moment for me john. Yeah and and. I think that you handled the non-football element of this extremely well. And i echo ditto everything that you said from. And so i'll have to say that. That exact thing that you just said way better than i could but i will take it to a football to a trade element side because it was what we were all talking about with the dak prescott contract for so long now because we both sorta gone silent as we all were sitting back watching not having take about it as we're trying to figure out and and synthesize everything It makes it extremely difficult based on volume and the details in the allegations for any team to trade what would be equivalent to four first picks Because i if you do that right now you're saying to your fans because there's no way that you can properly investigate a dozen claims If you if you go to shawn watson this week and so you're saying well we we investigated and we all know that that's why Or you're also saying what we didn't investigate and we don't care and you can't do that and And so there's it's a holding pattern right now And obviously role in the real world realized stuff is what's most important here but it had. It was such a gigantic. nfl story. Whereas the shawn watson gonna land one with the jay leno panthers give up and now it sort of disappeared. And i do think that we do have to sort of touch on it and say no one can do anything right

"Outside receiver contested catch guy throws the ball down the sideline which daniel jones loves to do right like he he he and he has. He's been good going deep but and he is not afraid to throw those fifty fifty balls and so on one hand. I feel like they're going to have big plays like high big-play potential but then on the other hand they cut kevin zeitler and there are holes all over the offensive line and then they paid twelve million dollars over two years to kyle rudolph when they already have. Evan ingram like i saw my reading reaction to the deal was great. Now you can evaluate daniel jones ahead of the contract and see if he's actually the guy but then on the other hand i'm like okay but then his big flaw is taking these crazy. Fumbles in saxon pocket presence. And you just like debilitated his offensive line and also jason garrett as-as offense according to her. So that's what a wing of him you know right and that's the tough part. That's the thing when you talk about unlocking daniel jones. I mean we can go into all right. Maybe they paid for cal rudolph. And what about the guards spot and all that stuff. But it's it's gonna come down jason garrett and it's gonna come down to if he decides. We talked about motion just a little bit ago. I mean this is a team that just didn't they didn't utilize motion. They were stuck in nineteen ninety-seven and they had success win win. They did utilize motion. And so i liked how he started to open up the playbook as we got into november last year. Always wondering okay. Where was this before that. Maybe some guys weren't all caught up speed but at this point you have the weapons. Daniel jones understands that fumbling valuing the football has been an issue. He started taking better. Care of the football season went along and so if he can sure of that. Flaw it's then on jason garrett but it you know. I don't wanna gray daniel jones on a curve but there are severe limitations to the play calling there. Yeah i we'll see. I think it almost reminds me janus. At times had a ba-. I think he has a lot of similarities. Jameis winston and quite frankly in terms of strengths and weaknesses and james also at points in his career had really good weapons but then a slightly dubious offensive line or run game. Danny jones gets saquon back this year. But i or you know. At times. I didn't love the play calling there and i do wonder if he's gonna like his career. You can see situation where the trajectory is similar. That's my concern like you. I like i like letter williams. I think that was a lot of money given how much some pass rushers have gotten paid. We'll talk about it but they put themselves in a difficult position. Unfortunately they're still really missing. Edge rush it's been reported that they're in pursuit of a tory jackson airy definitely took a leap forward last year. So we'll see how that goes. I guess just to kind of wrap it up like right now. I still see it as dallas washington in that top tier then new york then the eagles but if they really if jones like puts it together just obvious thing to say then i think new york has enough stars on their roster now where they could actually compete. I think i think with dallas. The big question marks are obviously at the head coach spot And then you know the defense where they're still trying to figure out fence attack on yet got urban carlos watkins but the linebacker played took a huge step back last season Still gotta figure out the other corner situation. So yes i do believe in dak prescott and i do believe that he'll bounce back from that injury and ho- flicked up right where he left off but i don't know if the cowboys are going to shoot another team and then when you get to washington we talked about it. It's it how it is going to have a bad day on a bad day and then we're right to not even really concerned philadelphia. All right next question. What was your favorite unleashed favorites favorites. Tell me your favorite signing slash signings. Okay i'll keep it. Keep it at a team on this one for my favorite. It was buffalo. And i love how they took care of their own and they got matt milano at an incredibly cheap deal because he could've hit free agency and gotten a couple million more per year. The guy they took care feliciano and that's really a just a one year deal even though i think he's three or deal. They took care daryl williams so they're strong upfront. They kept the middle of their defense and then they were also aggressive like we're in own gronk. They added emmanuel sanders So that they continue to help their franchise quarterback and then the trubisky deal that they were able to get him for so little as insurance. That's fantastic. i'd hold a brandon. Beane and his entire staff up there Had a really good free agency especially considering that they didn't have any money play with us. Yeah and didn't lose anyone. I mean. I love john brown but if you had to lose an area if you had to pick a position group to lose someone it would obviously be wide receiver on the team mayo. Sanders will be i mean. It's a really nice spa for him. I think and another player. They keeping dare williams. I thought or am signing daryl williams rather that that to me i can't remember the size of that contract. Let's it was a. It was a pretty good deal for darryl especially considering yet. He had a pretty serious neat thing in carolina the fact that he was able to bounce back in and get get. Some money was Was good for both sides. Yes right after a year. There so yeah. I think that they had like that quiet. Good free agency. Where i think it would have been more alarming. Had they lost either. Williams air felicia or milano for that matter. All that's right at the that they kept those guys together and when you consider the deals that they've gotten done especially like the trae white deal from last year they continue to get really good deals for guys whether they want to stay in buffalo whether they sort of just gonna trick the agent. The trubisky one is just all upside for them. So i think that's especially to again. It's always going to. Do you want a quarterback who has similar skills or different skills or whatever i feel like with increasingly. You're seeing teams around the nfl like having a backup. Quarterback who can run is.

"In today's episode visible. Susan wilson author of rock bottom occult jessop novel the first book and the jessop series of fast paced and spellbinding thriller with a hint of romance. About lucas twin. Sister brianna is dead and isabelle refuses to accept that her sister could have died by suicide returns to charlotte from new york to find out the truth. Enlisting the help detective coach jesse vice cop in new about brianna history of addiction as it come closer to finding the killer. Isabella found herself in mortal danger. And only jessop can prevent her from becoming the next victim. Bob rogers author of the laced. Shamlan calls the book. A superb mystery and thriller with a new level of action or or providing insights into addiction embezzlement greed and policing susan. Welcome sir thank you. Thank you for having me -gratulations on the book you know we. I met a thank you parker books about five years ago. I was there to plug my first book. I think you were there with your husband. I think it might have been your second or your third book at the time. And i bought your thank. You was good gone. Bad is the one that listen. I fuck i work you and your now to have many seven and seven. I'm working on my eight. Okay what do you do put out every year. Usually the last book rock bottom bottom took me eighteen months front to me. Sixty five is sixty. Five thousand words ahead to put some coherent order. Took longer gasa said. You made the mistake in your first novel. Good gone bad of killing off your best character about. His name was streaker and he was the former cop who went to the dockside. And that's where the title came. Good going bad and everybody log. This particular character and i hated that i killed him off because i wanted to write him again so i just invented. His brother and his brother is a cult. Jessop who is Pardon my new series. That i started. And he has some of the similar traits since his brother and likes to go rogue and doesn't always follow by the rules so he was a lot of fun to write so. I'm having a good time with colds and reported to him being in in future novels but he the paranormal route and brought. You know your first character back in the second books on how through some supernatural maine's or suffering. I could've done that. But i chose not not. You know what you're right. You're right the The suspense thrillers with the with the touch around. That now a little bit about uses. And you're the author of rock bottom and six other romantic suspense novels first of all. What is a romantic suspense novel. It's fast pace page turner. it's a really not quite as intense as a thriller as very similar to a mystery. And what i've ride is Not a cozy mystery. But it's more like a hard full detective story and That's a good way for me to reach a bit wider market because women like my books a lot for the romance for the guys like the rough characters and some of the hard bowl techniques that are using stories. You said that you are a woman trapped in the body of a sweet southern bell at that you release your inner wild child creating gritty stories where the sparks fly Talk about talk about the pretty much sends me up. I didn't realize that to my daughter. said that that she said mom. Everybody thinks you're so sweet and ns than than such as polite southern lady she said but. I think that you're a tall blonde and a leather jacket on motorcycle and And i laugh at that but this kind of like what i like to raid is kind of gritty stuff. I like the gritty movies. My favorite movies shawshank redemption. I don't watch the a nine into the Ryan combs a lot of women are so i like kings kinda gritties. So that's what i like to read. And so that's what i write.

Did Washington Do Enough to Push Dallas in the NFC?

"Did washington football teams teamers and the giants do enough to push dallas in the nfc. So i left philly out. I don't yeah. I just don't i am found anyone who really thinks they're going to be competitive. I mean let's wait and see got jalen whatever. But that's a team that they're not really fun to talk about. Because their free agency considered like stripping you know but i mean they did sign at harris for like nothing which is probably better sightings but what you have in jalen also you serianni. Yes hundred percent but washington in york both very active and did interesting. Things i think are worth discussing because dallas after the dak prescott deal was finally done. They've kind of made a few moves around the margins adding kia neil. Getting tied as kind of swing. Tackle still have question marks at adra sure and coroner but washington like i think they might have had my favorite free agency or at least the one that i'm most excited to see. I don't know payoff on the field. So just to recap. They signed the aforementioned ryan fitzpatrick one year. Ten million dollars. They tag branch eff. Who's there Pro bowler guard. They signed william jackson from the bengals. Cornerback three years. Forty two million dollars and then added panthers wide receiver. Curtis samuel for three years thirty four point five million dollars so just starting like let's start here. Do you agree with me like do you. Do you like what they did. And do you think it makes them an actual competitor in the division. A really like what. Washington did You know. I think among the guys among the quarterback that they could get because not only were they never in it for russell wilson or or wherever really going to be competitive for shawn watson You had to start looking okay. We'll what's realistic. And it's the ryan fitzpatrick coming off his best his career. It's an andy dalton and whereas that really gonna lead you I think that there was a lot of interest in marcus. Mariota he still is not able to sign with another team because the raiders are still holding him hostage But so. I like the quarterback. Move because you're essentially saying let's build up the team the and let's have the strongest team possible around the quarterback position where we don't sell out just because we have to for that position free agency. Maybe they make a move at the draft for a guy that they have their eye on. Or maybe they just say let's. Let's keep the boat floating this year and let's make our move Next free agency. So i thought that they probably overpaid by million or two on curtis samuel. But they wanted him And and ron rivera really likes them. Obviously william jackson an incredible deal You look around and you need another pass rusher and they can they can probably keep ryan kerrigan as a third down specialist if he comes down off his number end so you know he's he's still doing that. He's gonna get paid a whole lot of money. I'm not sure that that money is really out there especially at this point in free agency so they didn't want to mortgage their future for for quarterback right. Now they wanted to keep the boat afloat. I that and so. I like what they have done. Specially on evens. Then when you consider the the sort of offense and the pre-snap that they can have with all those offensive playmakers. Now that curtis annuals there with terry corn. I really like with done.

Kurt Becker's Stroll Through Racing History: Grindstone

"Only made six career starts but one of them resulted in a victory in the kentucky derby and burst onto the racing. Cd twenty five years ago this month with a win in the louisiana derby. His name was grindstone. A foal from the first crop of nineteen ninety kentucky derby winner dreidel rhinestones was owned and bred by lexington kentucky. Native william tian in the name of his overbrook farm center d wayne lukas grindstone raced twice as juvenile before undergoing surgery for a bone chip in a knee. But after a seven month layoff. He returned to the races with a runner-up relation allowance company at santa anita in february of nineteen ninety-six to start his three-year-old campaign. Despite having made just three career starts grindstone went to new orleans on march seventeen for the great three louisiana derby at a mile and a sixteen despite having nothing more than a maiden special weight victory to his name. Rhinestone was dispatched the two to one second choice behind local favorites arbs magic and it was arbs. Maverick stood and rhinestones way in the final furlong. Tony bentley had. Louisiana derby by war with terry daily with these victory that day grindstone was now part of discussions for the upcoming kentucky derby but he was lightly raced and no winner of the louisiana derby had won the kentucky. It would be step up to a great two and a stretch out to a mile. An eight rhinestone would enter the starting gate as the eight to five favorite at once again. He would have to deal with the magic in the stretch. Terry wallace brings them home. Describe magic magic comes back. Takes at the magic of turn upset. Rhinestone was only eaten the neck that day but he would be heading to the kentucky derby with a lot of questions surrounding for one thing. Rhinestone had only made five career starts. No horse had won the kentucky. Derby on five starts or less since brokers tip in nineteen thirty-three for another. He wasn't even necessarily the best in these trainers d wayne. Lukas would be sending record. Five horses to the derby and lucas himself was reluctant to rank one above another. As for the rest of the lineup there was unbridled som- who would be the post time favorite. There was avenir from the west coast being trapped by a young trainer. By the name of bob baffert. There were skip away. Who had just set a stakes record in the bluegrass at keeneland. On the first saturday in may nineteen ninety-six. Rhinestone would have to overcome history. He would have to overcome highly talented and more experienced bows and he would have to make a furious. Run in the final furlong. But jockey jerry. Bailey had him in high gear. Dave johnson of abc sports with the goal of cracked late cabinet on the side of town. And here's optima to guide wasn't cabin on the inside was it baby. Mcquaid noted in the top urban grindstone and hit the wire together and it took five minutes for the placing judges to confirm the result of that photo. Finish but the winner of the one hundred twenty second run for the roses was grindstone. As one sports writer. Put it the kentucky. Derby distance is seventy nine thousand inches and by getting his nose in front of the wire grindstone had led only the final four but it was all that he needed five days later. Lucas announced that grindstone had been retired from racing. Following the discovery of another bone chip in the colts need may grindstone the first horse and seventy years to be retired immediately following win in the kentucky derby but he also has become the first horse in seventy two years to win both the louisiana derby and the kentucky derby he had won the first million dollar kentucky derby in history he had given lucas consecutive win and a triple crown race and he had made. Wt young kentucky derby winning owner and brief. I was never proud to stand next to mr young said lucas. Adding this is absolutely the happiest. I've ever been in my life. As a stallion grindstone would become the sire of belmont winter bird stone and the grand sire of classic winners mine that bird and summer bird following his stallion career in kentucky he would relocate to oregon and twenty ten where he would sire more stakes winners in the pacific northwest but the legacy of brian stone began twenty five years ago. This month with a win in the louisiana derby.

Should LeBron James have more MVP awards? Yes, but it's complicated

"All right fellas. Let's keep moving here. Big baller brand versus the king. Wanna talk about this game last night so lamelo basically saying to us. I mentioned this yesterday. That it's just another game playing lebron and as for lebron. It was just another day in the office. Thirty seven eighty six became then talked about a potential fifth. Mvp award lebron running or here my name of some of the best basketball players in the league this year again. it would mean a lot At my age What i'm able to do what i've been doing this whole season You know what our brains at a table every single night on both sides of the floor. it would mean a unbelievable thing for me personally. Is my career so to see what a chips may. Kyle kuzma reiterating. That sediment saying you should want eight or nine guys. We haven't had this conversation in a while. The last time i asked you max i think you had. Joel embiid as your guy. So where are you now. Who do you think's the biggest threat to lebron for. Mvp i used to be very clear. Lebron's the mvp. This moment and beat has now missed too much time. And he's presently hurt. Lebron is the mvp of the league at this moment. The easy answer to who's the biggest threat is james harden. He's playing the best basketball of his career. And that's really saying something and kyrie's been great and have been other great james harden you watch him now. You're watching basketball. Genius like the combination of scoring from anywhere on the floor at historically elite levels combined with the kind of court vision and unselfishness and setting up his teammates that he has shown in brooklyn in the service of winning has been remarkable however pardon also miss time in the beginning of the season because he won on the team. He's on the rockets and he was forcing his way off the rockets. So let me make a suggestion here. I considered yokich best offensive player in the league this year. I think stephen the biggest threat to lebron james. Mvp is damian. Lillard damian lillard a man that you have sat up here right in that spot and apologized to on. I take on this show for ignoring we. We all know him in apology. Dropped thirty six last night. Is he has a colt. Euro kind of status in the nba. Everyone loves this guy used the most clutch player in the league. That is you nets like unanimous consensus that please if not most clutch player damian lillard. He's averaging thirty points a night with assist everything you want. He has taken team decimated by injury destroyed by injury no mccollum until recently and their fourth in the western conference the fourth best record tied for fourth best in the western conference. He's the sentimental favourite. He's playing mvp level. He's shown leadership we all know he has not been recognized. Enough hardens miss time with his team and beads now hurt that you look at each candidate on other teams and lillard is at least as good as any of them. I think he's the biggest lebron's the mvp lillard is biggest threat.

Carson Wentz Says Goodbye To Philadelphia Eagles, Welcomes Fresh Start With Indianapolis Colts

"Carson. Wentz officially introduced as a colts. Now that we're day into the new league year and went hoping for world. Class makeover in indy with frank reich. Who made a big bet on wins putting his career on the line bringing the quarterback. They were an excellent match before the colts. Well built around wins. So here's what went said today about his fresh start. You know you gotta just be intentional. One by one build those relationships and like you said respect is earned not giving so. I look forward to earning a lot of guys respect and You know i i. I'm confident that that will happen. Go trike. I'll never forget when i was working out in fargo north dakota before the draft. It was an instant that we just had this connection on how we see the game and how he challenge each other and ultimately make each other better super excited about getting to work with him again. Because i have the utmost respect for the man that he is also. The coach. study is as well guys here with you for the next hour as well as schefty didn't orlowski. Marcus spears matt miller will join us for a little draft talk later but let's get back to what we just heard from. Carson wentz introduced today. Dan alaska simply is this. How does he move. Forward was carson wentz's success this year. We'll start off the field. There are more questions than answers about him right now. So how is it going to turn the bad of last year into the good this year. What did you learn when it comes to relationships. How are you going to be better at relationships. How are you going to be better at leadership. How are you going to be better at handling the adversity off the field. I mean he just talked about earning the respect of his teammates and in the locker room. Think about this. He can go into that locker right now. This is what i would do if i was him. Sit down with those new coach teammates. How did philip rivers do it. Filled came from a different team and he came down year. What did he do. Endeared himself to you guys how did he earned your respect. What's what's stuff that that clicked with you guys because the reality is you don't have to sit here and say that you've got to be somebody or not. You can still be the genuine authentic person that you are but the reality is you should be ever changing. You should be ever-growing. And i liked the fact that he said. I've got to be intentional because the truth is this when september comes. No one cares about your excuses. Excuses or explanations you've got to figure out in the next five months in the midst of unique off season again how to earn. How do prove to your teammates that you're the guy proved to your teammates that you will take over this locker room and become part of it. That's his biggest challenge and once he realizes that off the field is equally if not more important on the field. That's when he can start to rebuild his career. Yeah no doubt. I think self awareness as well like the indianapolis colts need carson wentz to come and fix them as a football team he needs to. They need him to come. Add to what they already have going already building. And there's a amount of pressure on carson winston. He never felt in philly because of the situation. And he walks into. And they are frank reich as well like frank reich has attached is job to carson wentz internally him around and making him the quarterback that that can get team to where they think they can go but india set. They have a good offense around. Obviously they make moves at tackle. They have a good running back. Good receivers a defense that at the top level of the nfl last year. so carson winston is not coming into a bad situation this is a rehab for carson wins. This is not a rehab for the indianapolis colts. He needs to be aware aware of that as well. And look i wish and hope that carson wentz turns this thing around and has a lot of success. I'm just going to sit back and see how he handles the pressure. Because now you're on a playoff team. You're around got dairies. Linda put it out there right here to win. Don't care about what you have to say don't care about your past that these that transpired pencil tired about if you're going to come play for the indianapolis colts come to win. So there's a lot on the line of course a wins but there's also a lot on the line for the indianapolis colts football team as far as where they wanna go and a hell of a lot of framed right for sticking his neck out there to say i'm the guy that can get the carson that we saw in twenty seventeen. And if he is. The indianapolis colts are absolutely a legit super bowl contender.

Dallas Cowboys Reach Multi-Year Deal With Star Quarterback Dak Prescott

"Salary cabin number for two thousand and twenty one is going to be twenty two point two million dollars all right now. Head dak prescott. In franchise tag again this will happen in a procedural sense but had to cow tried to go at this with dak prescott on the franchise tag for the two thousand and twenty one season. We've talked about this a number of times. That value would have been thirty. Seven point seven million dollars so the fact that the cow is now have him onto the books. We're talking about the value that is on the books in the books. However you want to look at the books whether they're e books or physical books whatever the case may be that value is now twenty two point two million dollars now. I know that we have all said some things about the dallas cowboys but they are not complete dummies. They surely budgeted for the franchise tag value. Because let's be honest. They came about twenty four hours. We think you know. Close to having the actually placed the franchise tag and maybe carried out with that prescott. So the cowboys have room for the franchise tag at the very least so you look at that quake matt that adam schefter was kind enough to do for you. That is fifteen point. Five million dollars that the dallas cowboys suddenly have because they've got this long term deal with that prescott. This is something that we've been saying for two years now. If you do this you can. You can kick this down the road. You can prorate it you can extended you can whatever term you want to put on it. You can spread the impact of the deal out of the signing bonus of the overall guaranteed money out over the lives of the contract so it doesn't hit you all at once. That's the one killer about the franchise tag is that it is fully and completely guaranteed in franchise tag is a one year deal so the value of it last year and dak prescott was on the tag for thirty one point. Four million dollars. The two thousand twenty dallas cowboys had to absorb that value all at once and they would have had to have done it again. Here in two thousand and twenty one but because they have adjusted that they now have fifteen and a half million dollars that they were seemingly budgeting for dak prescott that now they can apply to different areas. Maybe it is a safety. Maybe it's a defensive end. Maybe it's a defensive tackle. Maybe it's you know an offensive tackle. But they want swing tackled death whatever the case may be. We know that the cowboys obviously hold the tenth overall. Pick in the draft. They could go a number of different directions there. They wanna cornerback kayla farther patrick's retain do wanna take one of the tackles and rashawn slater as all this is. This is setting up and this is an important thing. I want you to hear me here and watch me here. You cannot waste this money. If dallas cowboys the whole point and getting this done with thac prescott besides obviously establishing having the best player on your team for the foreseeable future the point in doing this is to alleviate the salary cap space now. And i don't like the term when now if you watch us often you know that but you look state of the nfc east. It is by sudha. I mean the philadelphia. Eagles are a disaster. The new york giants doping daniel jones is legitimate. The washington football team has a great team but is void of the most important position of the game and a quarterback. Maybe they'd get somebody this cycle as we all expect quarterbacks to change teams at a higher rate than usual but the case in point is at the dallas cowboys are now. We're going to see this all day on tuesday by the way and we'll talk about it of course but they're going to be overwhelming favorites to win the nfc streit and you think about the conference that they plan is really a contender in the nfc. And i mean that with all due respect to the reigning champion tampa bay buccaneers. But you've got the bucks you've got the green bay packers and then who scares you. May maybe the rams you believe in matthew stafford but the point is thinking about the afc. I mean the. Afc has the bills and the ravens and the chiefs and the titans and the steelers and the browns. I mean you could go. A number of different ways. Did the colts have carson. Wentz ends up getting his act together and so the cowboys play in the weakest division in the weaker conference and so now they have this opportunity to really kind of take their future in the here and now they have fifteen and a half million dollars that they weren't necessarily planning on having use it and if they don't use it it is all for not so i mean we are all imploring the dallas cowboys to ultimately use this salary cap space. This is a very very very luxurious gift. That they now have been afforded that they didn't previously have so shattered of course to the dallas cowboys. Let's see here let's move. I'm i wanna talk of course about the bonus the dak prescott because well. It's stupid large. I mean it's amazing. Dak prescott has now the largest signing bonus in the nfl. You look at joe flacco. Once upon a time. Got forty million. Dollars matt ryan forty six and a half. Remember if you're on the fence about this value. We've talked about this before as well. Matt ryan became the first quarterback in nfl history to average over. He had thirty but to average at least thirty million dollars per year with his new contract that he signed with the atlanta falcons in two thousand and eighteen. That was three years ago. Dak prescott signed a four six year. Deal whatever you wanna call it. That was three years ago. They matt ryan signed that he was the first quarterback to hit the thirty million dollars a year. Mark prescott just hit forty but the reality and we've been saying this forever is that there are so many deals coming around the bend. Josh allens gotta get paid. Lamar jackson's gotta get paid. Baker mayfield's got to get paid extra calories. He's going to get paid the year after that. It's going to be time for joe burrow to finally get paid and when all of those players get paid this forty million dollars a year. Mark the dak prescott got this one hundred twenty six million dollar. Total guaranteed is sixty six million dollar signing bonus all these things that are currently the top of the nfl. The most in nfl history. That's the verbiage in determining that you're hearing associated with this and it's all literally true but it's all going to get pushed down because all of these players on this list. Joe flacco matt ryan matthew stafford at fifty million signing bonus. Aaron rodgers fifty. Seven and a half russell wilson not going to be a dallas cowboy now by the way sixty five million dollars. Dak prescott topped that all of these quarterbacks in all likelihood we'll top that that's the reality of the nfl things are always moving in one direction. It is up

Bill Barnwell Breaks Down NFL Quarterback Moves

"So bill. We gave you do the math a whole month away from this podcast before our dependency bio chemically kicked back in so i just hope the last four weeks have been everything that you personally needed. Pablo got on many vacations. I turned around my life after six months of just staying watching football now. Bill barn wells weekly column on. Espn plus and he hosts the bill. Barnwell show podcast realistically. I have done something that few human beings have accomplished. I managed to get one pack of moments from nba. top shot. yeah. We share that same addiction. You are far deeper into the game than me. I realized over the weekend. I just want there to be an nfl top shot. Because i feel like that's going to happen right. It has to. i mean. Imagine the things you could do. You could send somebody that colts fake punt from years ago or or if you wanted to try some of your friends. Perhaps you could send the russell wilson interception from the nfl top shot to a certain person with the initials m used to host the show. Yeah just randomly picking in that example in those initials absolutely but bill. We dragged you back here. Speaking of a certain quarterback who threw a certain interception emotionally terrorized ours. Because this is an especially dramatic. Nfl offseason. they're all these big name. Quarterbacks who want out of these relationships that seemed from a distance at least pretty broken and russell wilson and the seahawks. I need to ask you about that. I because i know russ isn't feeling respected by head coach. Pete carroll reporting. I know that carol wants to revoke all of his cooking privileges. We've heard now. Russell wilson like storming out of meetings which is kind of funny to imagine like door very lightly slamming so this particular soap opera. What is all of it. Feel like to you much ado about nothing really. I mean i just i. Just don't buy russell wilson drama. I go back to his contract. Negotiations this is the same player in the same agent. Who wants imply that he would leave football in the middle of these negotiations entering the final year of his deal to try professional baseball. Where russell wilson once for the iraqis and the organization he hit to twenty eight in the low minors before returning to college football. It was not a realistic threat. But if that way does he want the seahawks to give him more helpful on the offensive line which has been sort of the crux of his public complaints. Yeah i do believe that. And i think that the seahawks could benefit from giving him more help. They relied on russell wilson to run his way out of sacks and free pressures from unblock players which has worked for that stretch buddies also taken a ton of hits cuss russell. Wilson plays the way he plays. He is going to take a ton of sacks regardless of how good his protection is the best way honestly pablo to get him. Hitless frequently would be to run the ball more. Which is the exact thing. Russell wilson was trying to get the seahawks do lasso last offseason. So there is something here but i very much doubt that leads to a trade. My favorite thing about this new cycle i think is that russell wilson has relayed via his wrapped. Adam schefter that he is not demanding a trade but if he were there are these four specific teams that he'd like to go to the bears. The cowboys the saints. The raiders does any of that make sense to you know not at all i mean the classic russell wilson tropez that ciara was going to pick teams him in new york in los angeles which this is the opposite that list even the teams he chose are so strange. Maybe you'd argue that. He chose teams with great offensive. Lions triumph of the seahawks. But the trade doesn't really add up the same. Stu have agreed offensive line. But they're like sixty five million dollars over the salary cap. The cowboys have a great line. Whenever everyone's healthy but they also have back prescott. that's not gonna work either the bears. I don't understand. They don't have a great line or any cap space. That one makes no sense to me on either. Level the raiders. Maybe are the most interesting and plausible candidate of the bunch with a great line and some cap space to work with. But when i think about jon. Gruden as raiders coach. He wants quarterbacks to do exactly what jon gruden wants on every single play. I don't think any if it really adds up to meaningful trae dialogue. I don't think there's going to be a conversation between the seahawks and another team about trying to make a trade for russell wilson work but this is twenty twenty one anything is possible

"Can't miss all-pro hall of fame level quarterbacks and some of those things that matt is saying about. Zack wolfson intriguing. Right this is where the game is moving. Somebody being able to throw off platform. Also watching the guy play not necessarily with the best skill players around him and seeing him. Elevate those guys. And i don't maybe it's this purple jacket that i wear in the reasons that i wear. I cannot get out of my mind of trevor lawrence walking into the stadium and facing joe burrow and being totally outplayed. And then i can't get out of my mind the next year. Doing the same thing against justin feels when you are a generational talent when you are eight. Can't miss prospects prospect where you're playing with people that are like you. It shows we watch the show. Watson play the alabama crimson tide. Two times. He lost a one time and he won the other time and both times we saw him. We said to ourselves he was the best player on the field and in wasn't close. Trevor lawrence is not that. But when you watch wilson and you think about mahomes. You'd think about josh allen you think about amazon rogers some of the talented the things that they have done. And how they translate. Zach watson has some of that. I just don't see teams passing on that just because of a few critiques that you can nitpick about. Zack wilson. his competition or maybe his size. I'm with you but they're going to. I mean the number one pick in this draft is going to be lawrence out of the us are suggesting otherwise so mad mean. I just was looking at some notes before we came on the air today. Mcshea just released his latest ammika board of his top thirty two players in the draft. He has september still ranks him as the number one player in this drag. So matt let. Let's make it clear we're not suggesting unless you are. That is no longer the case. Most teams still think. He's the best player right. Yeah the consensus is still trevor lawrence. And it's hard for people to buck. This trend of there's a lot of group think there was group think when mitchell trubisky was the backdraft. Everyone in the. Nfl told you. that's the guy everyone. Everyone thought that. Except for andy reid and the kansas city chiefs..

"His name. Cooper what do you think of the celebration. Live looking at jalen hurts his house yesterday. Three let's go. I don't go fishing. But i have to know that. That is a great feeling when you pull the bigger when i see you tomorrow. That is very very well. Played okay as we continue. Speaking of jalen hurts. The eagles are moving on from wins. Does it mean this is now jalen teen. We'll go fishing for that answer just a moment. It's get up on. Espn squarely on the owner shoulder. They ruined the kid's they put it. Docu of nick foles on the concourse. He didn't support the kid at all. I believe that's hard trade. I believed that you know we did break in. I would agree. They broke in the venom. That has an infecting the organization. It's still i still don't truck howie roseman convicted some of the philly fans yesterday on radio station in philadelphia after carson wentz got traded. So let's go through the history here. Wednesday got drafted second overall in two thousand sixteen. That's a pick. The eagles traded for the browns to get they gave up five picks including a couple of first rounders now. The eagles have made the playoffs three times but never won a playoff game with wentz as their starting quarterback nick foles actually started five of the six playoff games and then yesterday of course the eagles trading wentz to indianapolis they get back less than half the picks they gave up to acquire him. They get a third rounder. This year and a conditional to in two thousand and twenty two and so i have a million questions about.

"Than you really. Are we see that all the time in the nfl and what happened in philly was the people around him slowly started to lose the support with the ability to play well in india. That's not going to be the case in india. He's got a coach that goes. I know exactly what you do. Well i knew exactly what you don't like i know how to coach you. I know how to connect with you. Don't don't forget for one second or think for one second that the connection between the coach and the quarterback isn't a huge dealer if they get carson wentz twenty eighteen in two thousand nine hundred nineteen. This is a home. Run deal for the coats so dan i feel like so much of this is about mindset and we've talked a tongue about this and the rea- so if he's watching now if you were to have a chance to talk to him at some point before he shows up there what would you tell me needs to be thinking about after everything that has happened. He needs a blank slate and a fresh start. What does he need to be thinking about. Why was being yourself not good enough in philly as a leader. Why was being yourself not good enough. Because you can't just go into a new locker room and think i'm just gonna be me 'cause maybe you wasn't good enough in that role. So if i was his coach going into india. I'd sit down and go all right. What happened last year. And tell me what you learn from that when it came to owning our locker room running our football team being one of eleven but being the guy like voice said this about peyton manning and matthew stafford those guys knew that they were the guy but they had this great to be one of agai and one of fifty three. So what do we learn from last year and let's figure out the bad that had happened in your role in it. Never washing it clean. It is it is part of our past. And then i'm gonna sit down and watch twenty-seven two thousand seventeen two thousand eighteen and twenty nineteen and this is the guy we traded for. This is the player that we traded. And i need you to understand that. That's the guy that i believe.

"Stadiums allowing some fans on the road. Team has the advantage Rotator winning more than than the home team this year. And that certainly case for the raiders are five win road and they're two and four home. They got figuring out a winner. That beautiful new stadium next year. God willing we get fans in the stadium next year. Next is going to be the debut of allegiance stadium That places june deserves. It hurts me. I'm sure her you see that thing. Empty hurts me every stadium empty. It's so sad. It sucks but they're gonna figure out win at home they got two more women games back. Toback got the chargers. This thursday as we said and then day after christmas saturday. They have cami dolphins. So we're gonna get into the playoffs against in some home games. Winsome home games for golly but everything Response to do today to win. They really couldn't get done. And you know they had a couple of turnovers. I don't think the colts hand any turnovers congress. Good you know. He had to pick six. But you know that was on a defection. The interception in the end zone was just a superb play. Actually they had three turnovers. Yeah so they figure that they still got dump penalties. I wanna see. Roy moore always behave member. I talked about Mentioned on the podcast. But i wrote about ross monroe. I want to see him get more snaps. And he had a forty seven yard athletic touchdown today. This kid is good. I mean he could be a really nice compliment to darren waller so gotta get him going to when we got. I mean i think you know. I don't like going wrong. It just say what i say. Tough loss they deserve to lose. Defense is terrible. They gotta get better the plans not over though again. It's not great but it's not season's not over yet but they start winning playing good ball and don't take care of the churches Freaking chargers who are pretty much a mess. They wanted like i said but they're pretty much messed go. Beat the chargers but this was a bad. This is a loss. They were not the better team in the culture of the better team. The goats executed better. And they took it to the raiders. So there you go seventy six. That's what they are right now under. The next will be back tuesday wednesday for the previous show. Have fun have a good night. Don't take it too hard. See this bill williamson. This is over..

"Four watery. He's he gets pumped up. He has a lot of energy. He does hit hard. He is around the ball. He can't be a playmaker but he plays out. He doesn't play smart sometimes. He is batting coverage. Yeah flooding reported that he's given given up a completion percentage of seventy percent. Going into today's game. I bet that went up. Because he didn't have a good game got burned a couple of times. He takes bad angles again. You know he's still a rookie. Basically the number twenty seven overall pick in two thousand nineteen because he played one game last year in her short gets hurt a lot too but he does something there. He can be a very good player twitter today. I said he can be a great player. Some people took umbrage with that. Maybe i was being nice. Maybe he can't be a great player but he can be a good player and you could be a positive for this team. However he's making a lot of mistakes and he's hurting the team mid way it is. It's the truth on radio. Talk about this. Defending officers good not grape. Good there too long drives in second half. They only got field goals. Out of its touchdown bus for this offense because of the defense against a good team. You goals aren't gonna work. Sorry so those two drives got six points. That's not good enough because the you know the colts doing they're scoring touchdowns stinking field goals. Touchdowns offense has scored touchdowns vehicles aren't gonna work again. Good teams in the nfl and this ridiculous year. There's no fans most stadiums in few fans at the ones that there are two.

"Pick. Six defense is one of the best in the league and they are the backbone behind this team to a team that fell apart the of last year they started five. They crumbled down the stretch. The secondary was awful. Made some big changes in off season. And now you're seeing the fruits of that right. They've got one of the best players and football and deforest buckner front sacked got stars all over the line back and forth in the secondary may check it second in yards second interception their fifth in points but the key stats for the colts. And this is what jumps out to me. The most they had the least amount of missed tackles and football. They are very very will coach defense. They're very technically sound. Defense is winning them gains in. It's a weird thing to say in indianapolis but it's the truth. And how would you describe their style of play defensively. How do they make life difficult for other teams. They are a pain in the butt to play against and you can see that every week it starts up front starts with the engine of the defense right. It's the defensive. Line target penetration by grover stewart. Face of aaron rodgers colts takeover. No point in the colts thirty five year history in this city of the ever had trouble or and the interior of the defensive line. Never not one time they could have to this year. And i'm not kidding. Deforest buckner is shoe. And he's been that good rover stuart out of nowhere to be a total total pain to play against the nose tackle spot and you got good as russia's starting with justin houston. You've gotta start linebacker in darius leonard but the real turnover the real key has been the defensive backfield little detected agent exceed your roads. It is i. You know the colts makeup big boy on third and short roads came from their soda. He's been an absolute reclamation project. Rocket sin has been better this season. Kenny moore is one of the best nickel corners and football that no one ever talks about and they have a rising star julian blackman who should be in the offensive rookie of the year race six. You don't hustle miss defense. You don't play and that influence has made that very clear. Run a played at certain level in terms of effort in terms of our intensity. I was when you do that in you. Play a certain way you have to practicing certainly so that's all encompassing and it doesn't matter if you're a star or the eleventh guy if you don't hustle what iraklis does marks down the lopes when he watches the film every week. A loaf is when you're not giving one hundred ten percent effort and if you have too many loaves you don't start the next week. There have been very very hard film sessions over the years. Cincinnati ruthless took over where he has really ripped into his guys about the hustle. And you can see it on the field. It's not just missed tackles. No watch the colts when they bring down a rusher. There's not just one guy or two guys it's gained tackling. That's the hustle that Infused in this team was you recently wrote about defensive. Coordinator matt uber flus and how he has transformed this defense first of all. What's he like as a coach. Unbelievably convicted in his system. Got to focus. The tip could be tipped nice job. Great focus cari. We'd touch it. We cut three back. Oh yeah vacuum. Clean five oh. He's a guy that just believes in the system and it's sort of a quiet efficiency so far is what we've seen that you wrote about some advice that His dad gave to him when he was a kid advice. That has apparently stuck with him until today. Can you tell us about that a long talk with matt. You've said matt. It's very obvious to that. You really believe that your defense is the best way to play football. Where did that come from. And he said if you can believe it was the first time i ever played football the first practice in my life i remember. My dad took me aside and said listen. You're going gonna play one hundred percent every single play or you're not gonna be out there you're not gonna loaf. You're not gonna coast. That's disrespecting the game and that stuck with them. The consistency just has to be there. And that's what we're asking all of our players to be practiced consistently click consistently and that's the order. We're gonna get and tell us a little about his football journey from being that eight year. Old kid who you just mentioned to today. Good player growing up football town in ohio. Played it toledo for folks named nick. Saban a really really good defensive backs coach. Obviously where either. I really learned how important is to buy one hundred percent and in just grew up in the coaching. Ranks got his big break to jump from college to the nfl. With the cleveland browns. But really where he became a hot coaching candidate was with the dallas cowboys. That's where he coached the linebackers under rod marinelli and became one of the best position coaches in the league and he was essentially dallas defensive coordinator in waiting. It was just a matter of time until he took over the entire unit and then it didn't happen and uber. I wanted to interview with the forty niners. The cowboys said no and he wasn't thrilled about that. So he chose to let his contract expire. He knew that was a risk. It was a risky was willing to take. You wanted to bet on himself now. I asked him about and he said yeah. It was a little unnerving. You didn't know what was going to happen next. And then the chance came in indianapolis under the most bizarre circumstances. We've seen at first and foremost the cowboys are looking for a new linebackers coach. Matt ebron taking the job with indianapolis colts. This was kind of a strange josh. Mcdaniels hired as the head coach. He hires matt even says is defensive coordinator and then twelve hours before mcdaniels is set to be introduced. He's got his tie picked out. He's got a picked out. He backs out because for days. Now we've been going. Oh he's coming rumors he's not coming lane. Not dot com dot com. This was a complete surprise. I e e leaves the colts at the alter lebron's lewis as soon as chris. Ballard found out the colts. Gm he walked into his office that night and said look. You're going to be our defensive coordinator. Doesn't matter who we hire a head coach. Your guy ballard believed in him. They hire frank reich a week later and frank rex. Been working for this opportunity entire life and you'd think as a head coach you get to hire your own guys as coordinators right. This is different. Frank was told that matt knee replace was gonna be his defensive coordinator and it's an arranged marriage that has worked out wonderfully for the indianapolis colts. Frank absolutely respects him. He thinks he's one of the best coordinators in football. He comes off really strong because he is but he also has a real humble spirit a willingness and eagerness to learn and in a situation that very likely wouldn't have worked out well in a lot of other places. it is worked tremendously well for. They didn't apples colts well. This arranged marriage began in two thousand eighteen. That was a year after the colts had had one of the worst. Defenses in the nfl. So how have matt uber. Flus and the colts gone about transforming this defense in a relatively short amount of time. So it's a defensive system. That's very familiar to colts fans. But they got away from it. They wanna play fast so what they did was go out and draft young speedy players that can make plays all over the field. They've added in some free agents here and there but really. The bulk of this defense has been built from within through the draft through young speedy guys. That bowed has found. And what not ebron.

"Well Zach after his transition from basketball to football and very quiet first couple of NFL seasons. What has mo-. Alec Hawks had to say about his production so far in two thousand, twenty he said I never saw this coming I can't believe I had one hundred year game in the NFL and I said, no, you might be on the pro bowl ballot. He said what he said there's no way like that's the beauty of more comfortable in his own skin. But never arrogant never cocky he's kind of refreshing in that way you talked to a lot of professional athletes that are very, very tight bay focused in. That's probably why they're successful I think most personality is also reason why successful he doesn't take himself too seriously he literally like never thought he'd had one hundred yard receiving day in the NFL and he did and after the game you sit in his locker saying I can't believe that happened. What does this? Former. Basketball coach shock a smart had to say about his success and the NFL I could not get shocked off the phone and I get it. If Morale Cox's is your former player, you're proud has pack of hand because he's really worked from a really low starting point in terms of not playing high school football really since his freshman year you shock like I don't watch the NFL lot I'm busy the head coach Texas now, but he's like if the. And finally Zach Mo- wasn't used that much in their loss to the browns this past weekend when they had more of their tight ends available. Is there a connection here are the colts better when they get mo the ball more? Yeah and that's a question. We asked the offensive coordinator Serianni like now that Jack's back now that trae Burton's back. Are you gonNA keep getting Mo the football and he said we have to do that all. He's made too many plays to say okay now. You take a backseat Mosey going to be involved we plan from. we. WanNa get him the football. We gotta get this guy that football no matter what. So it's not just that Mos- not getting as many targets. The offense is struggling right now. Let's be honest they were not good Cleveland especially Philip rivers and that hurt This guy. Then, get more looks to Moallaqa. They need to move the ball down the field more frequently because this defense can't carry the team for much longer. Look in times like this you want to go to your players you want to go to the guys that are matchup problems for the defense will I cox is the definition of a matchup problem you've got to feed eighty one. "Players in program history. While he had some real success as a college basketball player, he didn't play football at all in college. How does Mo- finally decide to make the leap to the NFL it wasn't out of nowhere for him. He had been hearing for years like what are you doing should be playing football you know you look at them and five seconds later it's like a very obvious realization for anybody but it's not just that he didn't play in college he didn't play his. Final three years of high school. The last time this guy played organized football. He was a freshman in high school and Jason Witten longtime cowboys tight and now he's the loss raiders tied and he's a childhood friend of one of the VCR coaches and he's there during Melodic Cox's senior season. You just hanging out with the team and he's like that Duke could play in the NFL like just one look that could plan the NFL. So it started with shock getting. Cox To believe it took no allie believing in working and believing in himself, and then it took a little bit of luck towards the end of his senior year. A couple of guys where like including the NFL scout was like that could could get an invite to NFL training camp. So Mo ends up with the colts and he's talked in interviews about some of the challenges of trying to learn the NFL game. Everything was hard for me besides cash football just. Understanding things to get you to the level where you can play fast overall. How did things go for him early in his NFL career? Not Well, he admits this. This is what's great about he doesn't act like he was a star from the jump. He told me the story about like his first year two, thousand seventeen was on the practice squad and he basically was like I just went to practice every day and try not to screw it up for everybody else. And it wasn't very good at that. He kept screwing it up in everyone would have to stop have to restart and they're like, is this basketball player ever GonNa make he ever GonNa figure this out 'cause we're not even getting good reps in practice, but Chris Ballard the coach Gm told me. He was frustrated at his development and it wasn't coming along like they thought in one practice there was a deep ball let's say forty yards and mo just went up and grabbed it and they all said Whoa. Do you just see that and you gotta ask yourself how many guys can make that play? It wasn't the turning point for him. Oh but I will say it was a turning point for Chris ballot GM because he was having doubts and then Mo made that catch and he told himself stick with this kid give it time be patient and it's hard to do that as a GM right you got a roster spot valuable. You'd guys who can play can't carry guns in the fifty-three who are not ready to play tribute on. Sunday Mo- wasn't close to that but that catch told Chris Ballard it's GonNa take some time, but he can do it. The lead is proud to be presented by. Fantasy I've been playing fantasy football on fan. "To choose the folks booing over his love of wife and life and self and health for us cold fans are understandably mad about what could have been as if what could have been wouldn't be in his mind more than theirs on those sleepless nights ten years from now. It's an odd thing to say given the worship around the gladiator game given the football players consider themselves warriors but sometimes there is great strength. What might look like weakness. What a difficult decision. This must have been for andrew andrew luck to put down his pride in the middle of the battle and let the arrows descend upon him because it's simply hurt too much to continue to fight other really come on man. Come on those kinda politic come on uh-huh oh their turn to talk so now they're awake welcome to highly questionable. This amino has what do you like on the show. Today i mean you're the only one with the monologue i wrote something to about andrew luck yeah. You know it's kinda crazy to think the ten years ago this story can happen. I'm not talking about andrew luck walking away from the super bowl contending team and potentially hundreds of millions of dollars but rather the idea that the news will come come out in the middle of a game and we'd have the uncomfortable situation. We're stadium full of people would all know a very intimate piece of information about a person and that person would be oblivious. The fact that that private information was now very public because he wasn't a big long as many fans began voicing their opinion about retirement and so his lasting memory three of his last time on the football team was thousands of his hands booing and i'm going to pull up dan and bore you with a stern admonishment of how fans supposed to react to pointing running out their hopes of watching their team marked super bowl are dash to smithereens rather. I'm fascinated by how those people got to know because ten years ago twitter and have the wide retail today we find all of our breaking news not just because we're all on it but because all the news breakers have adopted as the main medium in which they do their job and that's what i want to focus on a lot of people were apparently upset adam schefter for doing his job. He broke a new story. That's what he does. Shefty doesn't know anything to look to the colts go spans. He did his job find out a fairly newsworthy fact and make it public to job. He does extraordinarily well but it's also also job he can only do if you supplied with that information and that supplier is who should be the object of derision not shefty because lever supply saftey knows what she does for a living who would do such a dastardly thing who would benefit from the release of music clearly put luck in uncomfortable awkward negative light right. You gotta start with the most agree party. The indianapolis colts neil guys. Were you talking. I also have something to say for the love of god on a day like today i think about his father oliver luck oliver. Deliver must be so proud of his son. I wonder what is like being proud of your son and smart feet sensitive athletic respectful asset said full head of hair feathers of having someone like that it is too late for me but for all of the father south there ratio sewn to someone when you can be proud of one someone again you look shoot miami feel good about their loss to floria own knock it off. Come on that was incompetent football on both sides of the ball miami went with a young quarterback on the road and lost the game. It could have won but only because florida's. There's quarterback was towing. An inexplicable. Interception with four minutes left in the game these teams. We're not ready to start the season..

"It's an odd thing to say today. Given the warship around the gladiator game given the football players consider themselves warriors but sometimes the hardest bravest bravest thing to do is to quit. What a difficult decision. This must have been for andrew luck to let down his teammates and supporters and relationships in the building ending and his city days before another season in battle to pay literally hundreds of millions of dollars in future earnings to get out of the fight to throw throw away his glorious football future and glorious football fame and what has until now been his entire identity before the age of thirty he must have been in a great deal of pain to choose that and it is fitting that the last act of colts fans before his retirement was to boo him for deciding and hurt him yet some more football broke his body and mind and at the very end his city finalize the transaction by breaking his heart. Andrew luck seemed to genuinely love the football in a way that was uncommon but that love rotted over a very short time as his body betrayed him. This seems to be more of an indictment of the game than him so his very last throw is the colt was to throw it all away. Dak prescott reportedly turned down thirty million dollars a year. What do you think luck was gonna earn over the next decade. The man made eight colts fans not worry about replacing peyton bleeping manning but the hurt and the fear and the unhappiness was enough for lock that he gave away all sorts of millions and and was willing to endure the scorn and shame of teammates and fellow warriors and angry fans just to make it all go away peace of mind. That's what he bought and and a considerable price pieces of his body. That's what he gave and considerable price but the sports fan isn't entitled beast with a conditional love directly proportional to what luck did for your fantasy team that week colds fans booed either luck or the circumstances but either way the last sound luck felt from the city he always represented with grace was a hostile frustration benedict andrew he turned his body over them and the doctors and they literally chased him off the a field with their angry noise and self interest at the end was supposed to keep quietly choosing pain for us. He was supposed to keep choosing unhappiness happiness for us. He was supposed to push it all down like a man. Maybe even develop an opioid addiction for us football's daily rigors screwed up his shoulder shoulder his ankle his cat his mind his joy and his love of the game he was supposed.

"You can watch this live every day at about three o'clock central time on my Twitter. Periscope. That's at our Joe. You can also watch a long live on the blog on the boys. Facebook live feed it is Sunday. December sixteenth two thousand eighteen we are not alone. We are joined by the one the only the man himself. My dad Papa Ocho was gonna do. Hey, just here. Indianapolis town. We are in Indianapolis. I don't know the area code. Also, it said the big, you know, like one two three or whatever, I don't know the area, we aren't Indianapolis the Cowboys loss to the Indianapolis Colts a lot of you that follow us. No, we do a road game every year with the Cowboys game kinda make trip of it sort of our annual father son thing we were fortunate and blessed enough that we two trips this year, we went to. Lanta early on in the season. And now we came to Indianapolis and the Cowboys loss and the Cowboys lose the Cowboys got skunked twenty three to nothing. We've seen a lot of things in our travels. We had never seen a blanket that. Yeah. I know it was disappointing especially because they moved the ball affectively at least in the first half between the twenties and they couldn't punch it in. They just kind of disintegrated. Once they got inside the twenty and all kinds of errors, and you know, just mental stuff, and you know, just bad play calling just a lot of bad things that went for went wrong for them. Once they got inside the red zone. Well, that's kind of been the story of even who they are when they're successful. I mean specifically to the five game win streak which ended today, obviously with the loss of Indianapolis. They've. Had trouble, you know, they can knock on the door. But then when nobody answers, they just go home. You know what I mean? And so today, they really kinda got off on the left foot note with the blocked field goal attempt early on and I meant to tweet this. But there was some internet issues all the credit in the world to Chris Jones. And Brent Maher running that day, you'll see every kicker and holder do that. But obviously, they're very very good. But I think before we dive into the game. I think an over sort of arching message needs to be stated, or at least I want to stay in is that this look at sucks that they lost. And that they they lost the way they did. But if you had told me a week ago, you said look man, you can have one of these two games. You can have one between Philly, and Indianapolis even know that we were gonna come here. We're gonna expense and everything like that. I would have taken these results a hundred times out of one hundred it sucks the Cowboys loss. And again, nothing makes that better, but they did take care. Of the important business. They put themselves in a position where they were allowed to so to speak to lose this game. They're not gonna win all sixteen games in the NFL. You're not gonna have a win streak that goes on forever. And it's just the way things are, and it is very disappointing the way they lost. But overall, I feel like they're still at a very good place. And if anything this is a bit of a, you know, humbling moment, just to gut check. Yeah. No. I mean, I agree with that. You know, obviously, we're disappointed. But you know, we talked a six weeks ago about the gauntlet the five game gauntlet was upcoming at that time. And we said then that if they went three and two through that gauntlet that that would be fair that would be, you know, meeting the expectation they actually went five zero down to that. So, you know, attack this game on you know, instead of a five game six game gauntlet, then they went five and one through this gauntlet in, you know, it's not bad. It's not terrible. So you know, what better have been a? Close game. But you know, I I also have a theory on this game that it's a game of two extremes were the colds played way beyond what they're capable in their abilities are and obviously the Cowboys played way below what they've demonstrated they can do consistently in the past game. So you know, you take the average of that..
