What is Comparisonitis? The Difference Between Healthy and Unhealthy Comparison

"Itis is when we compare ourselves to others and in talks unhealthy way and we make it means something about ourselves like. I'm good enough. I'm not smart enough. I am less than that other person. So that is comparison itis and a majority of people are suffering with it right now. There is healthy comparison and there is unhealthy comparison and a lot of us a suffering with the unhealthy comparison. So like with all of my books. I write them for myself. Because i'm dealing with that at that time in my life and comparison itis was something that i was definitely dealing with whilst i was riding i was suffering the worst of the worst case of comparison. Itis i was constantly comparing myself to others on social media in my friendship circle. All of these women who were getting pregnant around me quite quickly and it took my husband and i eighteen months so that was a huge eighteen month battle of severe comparison itis and i remember the one day i was scrolling instagram whilst i was on the toilet and as you do as you do i was. I came across this new york times. Bestselling author who had just ridden her hundredth book and Was again a new york times bestseller. And i found myself comparing myself to her. You know why why on my books new york times still is like. I'm not good enough. Maybe my writings notice good. What's going on. And i went into this really unhealthy toxic spiral of comparison itis and then i came back upstairs to my and i sat down on my computer and i got an email from this beautiful girl. Who was telling me that. She's writing her first book. And did i have any words of wisdom for her because she was comparing herself to me and she said you know. I'm comparing myself do you. You've written so many bestselling books. And i had this lightbulb moment. That here i was comparing myself to someone else whilst someone else was comparing themselves to me. It's like this vicious cycle. And i realized in that moment that we're all comparing ourselves to each

Basecamp Bans Societal and Political Discussions at Work

"The startup base camp is well known intact circles. It makes product management and communication software for business teams. It developed the ruby on rails software development framework. It's quite influential in silicon valley but last week it got a lot of unexpected attention nationwide when it announced its employees would no longer be allowed to have quote societal and political discussions on the company's internal base camp account leaders at the companies said. The conversations had become too much of a distraction from work. The move sparked a ton of conversation base camp and beyond and it's indicative of a broader debate happening in silicon valley for more on this we turn to our tech reporter catherine bentley. Hey thanks for being here. Thanks for having me. So tell us about the reaction. We saw base camps announcement. Here are both inside the company and publicly yeah I mean this was all over twitter. Oliver lincoln effectively. What you had was kind of two camps if people you had people who said you know i some people especially underrepresented groups. They can't always sort of divorce politics from their identity. For example i saw someone tweet Someone who's non binary. Say if i introduce myself with my preferred pronouns at a work meeting some people might view that as a political move but to me. This is part of my identity. So there's this overlap between diversity and inclusion and quote politics and so you had some people really taking issue with this and thinking that it was that such a ban was effectively away to silence uncomfortable conversations about diversity and inclusion as opposed to quote political debates on the flip side. you had people One example would be the ceo of coin based brian armstrong saying he thought it was a courageous move and point base actually made a similar move this past fall and people who are sort of on the other side of this debate. Say that you know work should be about work that this has become a distraction that you know. It's it's just become too much of a focus in office culture and that people shouldn't be bringing their political opinions into the

Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory to Be Delayed Another 6 Months

"Everybody rob our here and today. We've got quite a few rumors through we've been hearing most this weekend about delays for gigabyte. We'll talk about that situation. You've got a handful of exciting rumors as well another. Snp inclusion for tesla news on giga austin and a couple other stories to discuss quick look at the stock start off the week tesla today finishing down three and a half percent amidst some of those rumors about giga berlian. Closing at six hundred eighty. Four dollars ninety cents that compared to the nasdaq which was down half a percent on the day or at so capturing the most attention this weekend has been the report from automobile. Voca in germany. They claim to have an exclusive report that tesla has delayed gigabyte saying quote the start of series production tests. New gigafactory and bruneta near berlin has been delayed by six months until the end of january twenty twenty. Two tesla. boss elon. Musk officially gave the team half a year. More reports automobile voca citing company circles and quote. So this then got picked up kind of all over the place. We had bloomberg report on this market. Watch report on this et cetera. And this of course follows the news that we discussed last week. That tesla had adjusted their approval. Permit application to include battery production as we discussed in that episode that may cause further delays. Because the permit may need to then go through the public feedback process again. And we've already seen tesla their dismay with your approval process. How it's been going so far before even these adjustments so i say that because a delay overall wouldn't be all that surprising a delay until the end of january twenty twenty two would be a little bit more than i would expect though and we did hear tesla give us an update on this in their most recent shareholder letter from q. On earnings where they said. The build out of giga berlin is continuing to move forward with production and deliveries remaining on track. For late two thousand twenty one machinery for paint stamping castings et cetera. Continues to be moved into the building. In the meantime we will continue to increase import volumes to europe. And so this was just last week. They're saying late twenty twenty one and we also saw them simultaneously. Update the design studio time line for delivery for ottawa in germany from previously sang production mid twenty twenty one two deliveries and twenty twenty one.

In Praise of Bitcoin

"Friend of the show. Ben hunt has been on an intellectual journey with bitcoin over the last year really longer. But he's been especially forced to because we're jerks and we talked to him all the time about it on twitter and so he kind of had to be but he's written a new provocative piece called in praise of bitcoin. And rather than give it a bunch of intro. I'm just going to dive in. Thanks ben for allowing us to read this on. Today's show and i'll be back in a few minutes to discuss in praise of bitcoin. One evening a few weeks ago. I was on a zoom call with a bunch of academic think tank and fed economists for a bitcoin discussion. A lot of names. You'd know if you're familiar with those circles. The most famous one being paul krugman. Who by the way. I found to be charming genuinely open-minded and surprisingly humble about the entire enterprise of academic economics. I had been invited to be on the anti bitcoin side of the discussion but they needed have bothered. Because there was no pro- bitcoin side crumlin lead with a simple question. What's the use case for bitcoin. Not a theoretical thing. But in actual use of bitcoin to solve a problem in the real world which led to an hour. Long extremely earnest and altogether unsatisfying conversation about financial transfers out of venezuela trade settlement and securitisation. On the blockchain and taylor swift's ability to control the scalper resale market for her concert tickets. All of which are real things all of which are interesting things off at your good things but none of which are got twenty busy people on zoom call at eight pm thursday night. None of which are bitcoin now. To be fair there were no old school. Bitcoin maximal is on the call or if they were. They were too intimidated to make an austrian economics. Hard money neo go bug. Bitcoin is the inevitable. Global reserve currency argument in front of paul. Krugman lol finally couldn't take it anymore. Is this really why we got on the phone tonight to talk about a novel. Form of digital rights management talk about payment transfers out of authoritarian third world countries. Are these really are questions about bitcoin. Answer of course. Not what got these academic think tank and govern comments on the phone that night was bitcoin. Trading at fifty thousand the question that everyone truly cared about but a question that everyone danced around for the better part of an hour was this. Is there any there there. Electric Cargo Cycles Deliver Packages in Miami

"In many cities delivery trucks and vans often end up circling blocks parking illegally or idling in the street while the driver hops out to drop off a package but some companies have found an alternative that takes up less parking space and creates less pollution three wheeled electric cycles that are equipped with cargo containers. You can operate them like a bike but they have power. You can run it on full electric if you need to. It's a good blend between being on a bicycle and being in a car. Greg hewitt is ceo of dhl express us. Last summer the package delivery company began using four of these electric cargo cycles in miami. Each has a container that carries up to four hundred pounds and his reloaded several times. A day hewitt says dhl express aims to get e cycles into more cities soon but i cities and states must approve and regulate their use for example permitting them to ride in bike lanes or creating parking areas for them so change won't happen immediately but he says e bikes can help make cities more sustainable by reducing road traffic and emission pollution while still not sacrificing fast efficient deliveries for our

Storytime: 100 Rooms

"Round everyone. One hundred rooms The morning of frederick's one hundredth birthday. He woke up with a smile. He'd lived a long happy life working his way up to become a successful merchant and raising three daughters whom he adored their names were harmony melody and colli appeal. Frederick always loved music but he was too busy buying selling and trading to learn how to play an instrument so we'd given his daughter's musical names in hopes that sunday one of them would become a musician harmony. His oldest didn't seem very interested nor did his middle child melody. A colli appease ears had always perked up the opening notes of any song and from a young age she was dabbling in all sorts of instruments from the violin. The piano to the drums to celebrate fredericks one hundredth birthday. His daughters threw him a big party at his grand mansion. All one hundred rooms of the mansion were brimming with smiling chattering guests after the guests had gobbled up their cake and gone home. Frederick called harmony melody and goliath to his side. More daughters today was marvelous. Thank you glorious party harmony. The eldest had grown up to become a businesswoman. You're welcome father. It was such a pleasure organizing the guest list and ordering all the supplies and everything looked so. Perfect fredericks middle daughter. Melody was a hotel manager. The staff setup. Everything just as. I requested the tables the chairs the flowers. Everything frederick smiled at his two daughters. You both didn't beautifully then. He turned his eyes to his youngest. You alive those musicians. Wherever did you find them. I've never heard such wonderful music in my very own house.

Patrick Radden Keefe on Empire of Pain

"Patron kief joins us now. His new book is called empire of pain. the secret history of the sackler dynasty. Patrick thanks for being here. Thanks so much for having me back. So let's start with a very basic question. In case people are not aware of the sackler family and why he would be writing about them with title like empire of pain. who are the sackler. So this sort of to waste answer that question until a few years ago what. The sackler name Generally to to the extent that people were aware of this family it was a very wealthy family. One of the wealthiest families in the united states with a branch in the uk in london and they were known chiefly for philanthropy right art museum wings. Hundreds of millions of dollars to art museums and universities and medical research and would very often put their name on these bequests. If you you know in new york city go to the metropolitan museum of art and there's the sackler wing And that was what they were known for. What was more mysterious. Was the source of this wealth and it has People have become more widely aware. Recently that That the bulk of this wealth comes from a company purdue pharma which produces the powerful painkiller oxycontin in this era in which the naming of things and the un naming of things mounting and the on mounting has become very active. Is it still the circle ring. In the metropolitan museum is sackler still emblazoned on all of these buildings and donated wings. Well it's very much in flux. So as i speak today it's still the sackler wing but the has actually announced today initially. They said they weren't taking any future. Donations from the soccer is because of the connection between the family and the crisis and then more recently. They've said that they are You know i think assessing is is the word whether or not the sackler wing will remain the sackler wing. Some institutions have started to take the name down so tufts university took down the sackler name from a series of buildings Because the students there this is at the medical school had said. I don't wanna go to class in a building named after this family and and get my medical education. They're more recently. New york university has done the same. The louvre in paris is taken down the sackler name. So there's a real question for many of these other institutions and there's dozens and dozens of them were the name still stands whether or not they'll keep it

They haven't been abalone fishermen for years and there's a fourth brother mark now mike looking for their boat but he spots it on often abandoned peer in oakland and decides that he needs to scuba dive out to see what's up. The board is empty. But before mike can get on board the three bronze brothers show up his only option. Hide under the boat when the engine starts. He grabbed a dangling. Bow-line and hitches a ride. They're up to no good. The pressure is tremendous as he hangs on an fears of the blades of the prop behind them. But the boat finally slows then stops. And larry johnny jump in on scuba and have an extra set a gear. What's going on. Mike surfaces and sees their right off alcatraz. It's two against one. Nothing new for mike nelson. He follows them down to some rocks underwater where they deploy a surface buoy. Then we see a convict one zero nine eight six. That would be mark bronson. He died into the water now. Mike gets it as he sees the convict getting into a wet suit. And putting on the gear. Mike shoots a flare off to signal. The guards on alcatraz hoping it works. Mike is now fully rigged mask wetsuit. Tank regulator weight belt and knife and their high tailing it off against a strong title current. But larry turns and he spots mike. He's going to fight a rearguard action while johnny and markswoman. It's a knife fight. And it's a good one larry's tough clever and slippery but might get behind. Him cuts his air hose and brings him to the surface. And that's where we see. Mike's knife into larry's first stage. The flare did its job. And there's a patrol boat from the island coming on the scene that's one bronson in the bag on the boat. They followed the brothers bubbles and when they catch up mike dies back in lights off a flare and pokes it at the brothers and another massive underwater fight breaks out mike pulls off marks masks shuts air off and shoves him johnny he then puts johnny in a stranglehold and brings the two brothers to the surface. Mike has thwarted escape attempt. Larry says on the boat. It was a pretty good scheme. Yeah mike doesn't think so. Wow this first. Ocean Currents Predicted on Enceladus

"New study claims. That ocean currents churning in the subsurface sees of this attorney an ice moon enceladus. The findings reported in the journal. Nature geoscience a based on the shape of enceladus twenty kilometer. Thick shell new hypothesis challenges. Current thinking that the moon's global ocean is a modulus apart from some vertical mixing driven by the warmth of the moons core and syllabus is a tiny frozen snowball just hundred kilometers wide. That's just a seventh of the earth's moon. It's the smoothest body. In the solar system is smooth as keeble and sold us attracted the attention of scientists in two thousand fourteen when a fly by the cassini spacecraft discovered evidence of subsurface after water was seen spewing out of guys alike eruptions through fissures in the circle tiger stripes in the ice neither moon south pole a spectral analysis of the water by cassini indicated that it was salty together with jupiter's iceman moon. Europa enceladus is one of the few locations in the solar system other than earth with liquid water. And that makes it an obvious. Target of interest for astrobiologists searching for signs of life but the oceans on enceladus are almost entirely unlike those earth earth oceans are relatively shallow with an average depth of just three point six kilometers. They cover about three quarters of the planet surface and a warmer at the top thanks to the sun's rays and cooler depth near the floor and they have carrots that are affected not just by the spirit of the earth but also by wind on the other hand and syllabus a piece to have a global spanning and completely subsurface ocean. It's at least thirty. Kilometers deep is cooler at the top. Of the i show and warmer at the bottom thanks to hate from the moon's core despite their differences the study's lead author analog from caltech says the oceans on enceladus do have currents based on the cassini measurements and observations on earth looking at the way ice and water interact drive ocean mixing. You know you're the young kid and send them to a college university better than early age not not necessarily for the education but just the experience. Let's of everything going with her. Just not old enough mature enough to make good decisions so you you are illuminating. "We got a a product that we've been talking about on the podcast that I I think one of the best things Out there And so needed Dad this doesn't apply to your world but for the rest of us in computer land that have kids or grandkids and Mike as your great grandkids. So kids figure out quickly Usually through the Internet how to get into troubling things. Because there's a lot of trouble I was the only Internet. Utah met these APPS and we've talked about snapchat immaturity uh-huh Chernow mature enough. And you got an you have adults be out there praying as well so you you put that together you got that some disastrous things. There's other adults that are busy on their phone so busy. They're not paying attention with their kids are doing on their this right. So Oh There's there's some folks that have started the have a product called circle So it's got the ideas that we're going to draw a circle sort of around and your family and they've come up with a way to be able to manage filter. You know how much time your kids can be on the Internet when they can be on the Internet there's a lot a great features About this go circle home plus and so I was just in Up in North Carolina and they were putting circle on Zach our cousin and he's all it was so funny because while bins do going through the process you know he. I won't Watch watch to see what's fixing to happen in like like two minutes later. They all come running. I can't get what happened. I lost my. I mean everybody's like immediately it was something has happened there and it was like calm down. And here's what we're you do. It and then Zack. Explained to ask is what they were putting out so they were just doing this. The song love is like a circle. This is it is you know I have. I don't listen into radio singing this as like a kid. "That is preventing key members of his cabinet and administration from testifying is a farce. But because he can't win on the facts the only thing he can do is try to attack an undermine the process itself. I think he's losing that battle and I think there'll be a time where he will regret not defending himself and and my gut tells me this at this point because I've seen several statements from Republicans in the Senate. My Gut tells me that at this point. He is basically basically going to stonewall all efforts in the house and not participate in it and just take the l with the impeachment and then basically GonNa try to control the process in the Senate the trial in the Senate because they have the majority. I think they're gonNA be underhanded in manipulative initiative. I don't even think they're going to focus on the process of what Donald Trump has done. They're going to try to make that into excuse. My language a complete shit show on the Senate and he's going to try to win back public support there so while he's losing the process and the House will be impeached in the house. I think he's just holding out until until he gets that trial in the Senate. Today's episode of the breakdown is brought to you by circle. Circle is so amazing it gives me and my family so much peace of mind because it helps us manage our families online time across all of their connected devices inside and outside of the home with circle parents can filter what content is allowed. You can set limits for screen time you can monitor history and usage. You can even reward kids for good behavior and I love it because I tried to do this from their phones and their devices but I just figured out there too. Many phones loans too many devices to many ipads computers too many boxes on the television and video game systems. Listen you do anything for your kids do something easy that keep your family on the right path and get circle and right now our listeners get limited time offer thirty dollars off of circle home plus when you visit meet circle dot com slash break and enter break at checkout. You get thirty dollars off when you visit meet circle dot com slash break and enter break at checkout that's meet circle dot com slash break an inter break to save thirty dollars. I I love this company and want you to check them out at break when Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was first elected to the house. I knew that it was going to set a lot of people off and the thing is like like this is a sweet kind compassionate woman but I knew that her very humanity not only because she is a young black woman but because she is a young black Muslim woman A young black Muslim immigrant woman who was from a country on trump's banned list That she wears a hit job like I knew that these things that she was the first I he job a woman in Congress. I knew theoretically that it was going to disturb and set a lot of people off but to actually see it and see the threats that she is constantly under. You may have seen the news just a few weeks ago. A man was just sentenced to ten years in prison for threatening to kill Hill Congresswoman. Helen Omar and she wrote a beautiful painful public letter asking the judge to reduce the man sentence. I was deeply moved by her compassion because she believes so strongly in justice reform that even the man who got ten years in in prison for threatening to kill her she looked at it and said no that goes against my values. It's too much and yet we want to do everything we can to defend. Dan Protect her and I saw this week something that I had to do a double take on the Republican woman running against it'll haunt Omar. In Minnesota Danielle Stellar was just permanently banned from twitter for threatening to Lynch Ilhan Omar. Did you hear what I said. The Republican candidate who was running against congresswoman manhunt Omar Minnesota was just permanently banned from the largest social network for politicians for for threatening to lynch a congresswoman. I don't know if she's going to be criminally charged here with twitter clearly saw and said they had enough and this is the actual Republican running against her. And I say that it's a sign of the Times not because we've never seen such threats before in general because of course we have people have been not just threatening black folk with lynching but have actually been lynching black folks over a hundred years in this country. But I don't know Over the past hundred years that we've ever seen a congressional candidate threaten lynching from a Republican running for Congress that we've ever seen them threaten a sitting congressperson like this and while I'm glad that twitter has now band this. This woman Danielle Stella from from twitter. She's still on other social networks and what I find is that when people are not held fully accountable for their actions like is this woman still going to be the Republican nominee like. Is that what we're really dealing with. And those threats emanated from a viral lie that is being told about congresswoman Ilhan Omar across the Internet that she is basically a plant a mole from a foreign government again uttering bring her making her anything other than an American citizen which she as and and just trying to make her out to be in essence a a secret terrorist but because conservative media outlets not only shared. These lies themselves but amplified them all over social media It causes people who are not saying or stable it causes them to act out so all of a sudden you see congressional oh candidate now threatening lynching and I'm deeply disturbed by now. I want to close with one final story today and then I'll be back for some parting words right foot. I have to admit that I follow Allo everything about the current presidential race I follow it religiously and of course you all know that I'm a huge supporter of Bernie Sanders. I don't use this podcast to promote Bernie or his campaign. I in great part not just because I want you to keep listening but I don't think it's the best use of this show. Their other their other shows and podcasts and TV shows that do that I do think we need more progressive outlets that talk just openly and honestly about the presidential race but today I just wanted to give a couple of thoughts on two particular people that are running running before that I did see that a few people dropped out this week. I was like hold on. They were still running and and It just made me feel like there's there's gotta be a better way to get a hold of this process that we had that many people bull running so much so that there are people dropping out and we're like I actually didn't know that that person was a legitimate candidate running for office but I am. I am really disturbed by one candidate and deeply concerned by another. I am disturbed by Michael Bloomberg one. I'm I'm weirded out that. He's now calling himself Mike Bloomberg he's been Michael Bloomberg his entire life the entire time he was mayor he was never Mike Bloomberg. I think he didn't have Michael Bloomberg reserved across social media and so they found a way to get Mike Bloomberg. But it's weird that In his late seventies he just changed his name. That's not that what I'm disturbed about. I'm disturbed at at probably three things about his candidacy of first and foremost. He's just just trying to buy his way into office and it is deeply problematic that he has basically announced that he's not even going to participate in the first four states dates. He may even.

"Have countenanced. Any effort to encourage the Ukrainians Unions to engage in such conduct. I appreciate also that you were able. To debunk I hope for the last time. The idea that Joe Biden did something wrong when he accords with. US policy sought to replace a corrupt prosecutor. Something that not only the. US State Department wanted not only the European Union wanted and not only the IMF wanted but was the consensus position of the United States national security infrastructure. You didn't get a lot of questions about that today. As other witnesses did because I think you effectively said that was all nonsense. We appreciate your candor about that Marcin. I think what is most remarkable about your testimony is the acknowledgement that immediately. After the vice president met with presence. Alinsky in Warsaw. You witnessed Gordon Sunland meeting with Andre Earmark top advisor to presidents presents Alinsky and then immediately thereafter Sauna told you he had informed the Ukrainians that if they wanted that four hundred million in military aid they were going to have to do those investigations that the president wanted. And you were later informed and this is also significant as you've testified here today that the ambassador song and had a subsequent conversation with President Trump and informed you that it wasn't going to be enough for the Ukrainian Prosecutor General Zero to announce the investigations. The president wanted presidents. Alinsky had to do it himself if he wanted to get that a let alone the meeting in the White House now you've been asked to a pine on the meaning of the term bribery. Although you weren't asked to pine on the meeting of the terms high crimes and misdemeanors but bribery burry for those watching at home is the conditioning of official acts in exchange for something of personal value official. Oh acts we're talking about here. Are White House meeting. The president's Alinsky desperately sought and as you have acknowledged ambassador. Volker was deeply important to this country at war with Russia to show the United States. Had this new president's back that meeting was important important. That meeting is an official act. The military assistance is even more significant because Ukrainians are dying thing every day in their war with Russia and so the withholding a military assistance to get these investigations which you now have acknowledged master. Volcker was wrong for the president to request the idea of withholding that military aid to get these political investigations should be anathema to repugnant. To every American because it means the sacrifice not just of Ukrainian national security but American national so security for the interest of the president personally and politically republican colleagues all. They seem to be upset about out with this is not that. The president sought an investigation of his political rival not that he withheld a White House meeting and four hundred million dollars in aid. We all passed on a bipartisan partisan basis to pressure Ukraine to those investigations. Their objection is he got caught. There objection is that someone blew the whistle and they would would like this whistleblower identified and the president wants US whistleblower punished. That's their objection. Not that the president gauged in this conduct but then he got caught their defenses. Well we end up releasing the guess after he got caught. That doesn't make this any less odious. Oh yes Americans may be watching this and asking. Why should the United States care about Ukraine? Why should we care about Ukraine? And this was the import I think of the conversation. The now infamous conversation that Kiev restaurant with Gordon saw on holding the phone away from his head because the president was talking talking so loud. What is the president asking that? Call the day after the now infamous Dolinsky. What is he asking that cell phone call not not whether the rata had passed new anti corruption reform? Now they're gonNA do the investigation meaning into by UH and silence. Answer is they're going to do it. They'll do essentially anything the president wants. But what's more telling is the conversation. I think that Song Song has with the Foreign Service officer homes afterwards in which the President says basically Donald Trump doesn't give a expletive tip about Ukraine. He cares about the big things. and Mr Home says well Ukraine's at war with the Russians. That's kind of a big thing and and silence answer is no doubt he cares about big things that affect his personal interests. This is why Americans should care about this. Americans should care about what happens to our allies. Were dying but Americans should care about their own national security and and their own president and their own constitution and they will need to ask themselves as we will have to ask ourselves in Congress. Are we prepared to accept that. A President I'd States can leverage official acts military assistance White House meetings to get an investigation of a political rival rival. We prepared to say well you know I guess that's just what we should expect it to present the United States. I don't think we want to go there there. I don't think our founding fathers would have wanted us to go there indeed. I think when the founding fathers provided a remedy that remedy being impeachment they had the very concerned that the United States may betray the national security interests of the country for personal interests. They put that remedy in the constitution. Not because they wanted to Willy Nilly overturn elections no because they wanted a powerful anti-corruption eruption mechanism when that corruption came from the highest office in the land marriage earned I'll be right back with today's action steps but I I wanNa tell you about a program called circle. It's the most amazing effective secure way for my family to manage and monitor and limit the internet usage in our house. And here's the thing and I found I got on the Internet on the WIFI system. We have at the house. I found that we have over twenty different devices pulling from the Wi fi at any he given point in time from iphones and androids and laptops and desktops and video game systems and TV boxes. It's too much for any one person. To Monitor in. Kids are facing a million different online distractions and some of them can be deeply problematic from fortnight snapchat and instagram. Grandma Tick Tock and Youtube. I have found out the hard way. You can't just take your kids word for that. Everything is okay that everything is safe and clean. There's so so much coming at them that it interrupts their rested interrupts their homework and chores. It's still a slaughterhouse ironic is this the same sand that we've been talking about we slaughter on children's thanks Sam we've been talking about that's in the news these last two weeks about Syria and you know trump pulled the troops out sure people are unhappy we were supporting the Kurds which were not that's the same sand they were reading about in his old tessler there was a lot of war there was a lot of war go league ehrich now but God set this emotion with the idea that he would become one of us and be slaughtered for us now we ten the thing that all happen before Jesus but it actually that was his plan all along because God is not like us where he's waiting or traveling gene so he knew the whole reason that we have a physical body in this spiritual world that we came from in our citizenship is in heaven is so that he could become a human being and be killed so that we can all be saved he became flesh so that he could die and the and the murder can changes but in this case the murder of the son of God Jesus Saves the world and saves all the bad events that we read about in the story while store so let me catch me catch everybody up in by the way I appreciate everybody and we're bringing a lot of good feedback from you guys that are listening and watching about how much you've enjoyed sore the biblical narrative that we've taken on the podcast and that's what we love doing the last time we talked sort of are we kind of follow and central fee figures in the Old Testament and Sorta tell their stories but then how it all has kind of woven together as we talked about this morning the Latte we left off with basically God's people being formed as a nation at the foot amount Saana and we talked about a lot of fear there there was a lot of events as we are dollar tree because which would be a shadow of those in Jesus right thousands of years later becoming I think it repeater that says the computer where the holy nation right of God rush was the shadow that God the living also God could actually live with people in an intimate way in a in a priest priest as a nation a city you know there's different way still the rest of the book of Exodus Deuteronomy is there Leviticus is basically the setting up of God's nation you here's your what you just said here's your priestly responsibilities here here's the law here's a nation just like ours was a pattern to come the reality hasn't yet come yet so you had your ten majors kind of what we would call our bill of rights you know the ten major things the law would you know astill we look at we've talked quite a bit about a lot of great principles and then there was all these underpinnings of laws food laws and all these different things that were laid out so got it always plan on taking those people and then they were going to live in a place that he had promised Abraham about several hundred years earlier Rene Abraham was called out he said looking about four hundred years this lands GonNa be given to your descendant so we're kind of foul in that narrative is ab problem was the people were so faithless and kept wanting to go back under slavery back to Egypt the Gods said okay one whole generation you don't you don't get to go so everybody that came out that the initial generation you don't go so they stayed out there for forty years so that whole route that out that's that's about hard headed it's harsh but the same time was like you're not going in because you don't have faith in kind of takes the next step to today I was reading that last night you know when they said he'd been wandering forty years I forgot where I was exactly what it was like all the men of the military age they just died during that that wondering and so all the kids that had been born well known 'em had been circles size and so he he's made them be circum had a mass circumstances well I thought more glad I wasn't in that camp out think about it John is yeah hey just get him up here so we we've had discussions before owner podcast about the Internet that being a not really internet gaffe although he's been offered mile laying right but Jay some interesting points that you know our kids are out here especially our children and we you've been very open about some of the struggles with teenage kids got a teenage grandkids immaturity thank you know they're out mature to Halas to too much access at an early in the problem is they know more than we do you know Jason Better studied than me but I I'm well because I have a sixteen year old so my grandma ever said is that I don't use those devices I'm just setting an example to prove you can function without it you sure even that modern Minnesota you have you say not now you don't have to that's right but I would say if you do have it be careful on how you so so kids have all these distractions you got snapchat instagram. You're not in the older people are distracted also stroke you know and they're not dealing with kids rights attorneys out maturity have a problem so there's a product it's here to help and we're here to tell you about it today's is called Circle and so basically it manages all your family's own time access it prohibits your children from buying apps that you don't want them to buy which is like it sense to me that keeps track across everyone of your devices laptop phone tablets smart TVs because now it's even the TV video game consoles that's another one the computer applications that's pretty good so circle we want you to check it out right now since you're our listeners unit thirty dollars off this what they call circle home plus which is though package so you go to meet circle that's all one word Meat Circle Imi M.
