"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers yes TB twelve will continue on Oct receiver Chris Godwin giving number twelve to Tom Brady Godwin will switch to fourteen the wide receiver telling the box website no transaction compensation was involved despite a precedent being set previously by new teammates getting numbers that were already taken Godwin posting on Instagram as well with an image of him wearing a number fourteen Jersey Brady later responded much appreciated very grateful humbled and ready to get to work work this season will be expanded for teams as the owners have officially approved expanding the playoffs for the twenty twenty season the T. are plentiful expand by two teams from twelve to fourteen this season each conference will have an additional wild card team the number one seed eighty two conference will have a bye meanwhile the NFL and pump pumping the brakes on this our schedule for the upcoming season we won't see that until may somewhere around may ninth ESPN's Kevin Seifert says no rush you know in retrospect I don't know if they could say anything else I don't know if it was certainly good to say you know I will say maybe we'll have one they we won't you know especially from their own business perspective and selling sponsorships and ads I think they want to create the assertion that they are you know certainly planning to have it and they can always call back if needed I was a little surprised they didn't hedge it a little bit more than they did your Jeff passionately about top lawyer spoke very lawyerly today about it but even when asked like what what gives you so much confidence you know he was citing the resources that their medical advisors have been the model that they're looking at so I didn't get the sense that it was pure lawyerly speaking I I think that there's at least some data and information that they're looking at behind the scenes that make them think that there's a pretty decent chance that things will have improved to the point by the traditional start of the season that they'll that they'll be in play we'll see if that happens and there's plenty of time to pull back on that if needed but that's where they are right now and that's why the NFL Jeff pash the executive vice president and general counsel for the league said that they're planning a normal season coming up this fall perhaps one of the reasons the NFL is pushing forward with the draft scheduled for later in April even though they're having to do it remotely well I mean I I get where the gyms are coming from there is going to be less opportunity to be thorough and less opportunity to gather information on the normally is but there is still a ton of information available and I look at this the buildup of what I call it the draft industrial complex that has been built up in recent years where the draft has become obviously some corporate team building and it's so important to the reputations in the careers of the people who are making those decisions that they literally want to use every tool out there available to if for no other reason than everybody else and potentially gonna use those so I I think that you know there's there's definitely times when there's people in the league feel its way to do that some of the some of the typical draft practices in approach as really overgrown they need general managers around the NFL had balked at the possibility of the draft continuing given the restrictions that have been put on everybody given the pandemic and the state of specially travel within the country not being able to look at draft prospects SportsCenter all night ESPN radio the NC double a making the decision this week for athletes who plays spring sports essentially get a redshirt year free redshirt year even if they've had one athletes getting an additional year of eligibility if you play in the spring not just the seniors all the athletes from the spring earlier on the will Cain show did subway did something right they extended a year of eligibility to spring sports athletes in college that had their season canceled Bravo but it shouldn't stop there it shouldn't just be spring sports athletes and it should not be involved in any way in a discussion about money because money in the NC double a money the university system R. O. wash in riches what do you do if you bring back all of these players for an extra year of eligibility well I'll tell you what you do you extend their scholarship if you see a double I need to figure it out for one year period go ahead and raise the scholarship limits whatever was you figure out the percentage you figure out how to bring it up but you bring it up for one year because anybody to have their season canceled not just this spring but I believe winters well they should be able to come back if they so choose and they should have that scholarship extended for one year financial applications get the hell out of here for years the university system in the United States of America has been inflating its prices at rates that far exceed normal inflation levels if the university system continued raising its prices for everyone out there to go to college at the rate they had been it will it will exceed the entirety of the American economy at some point you just can't simply inflated prices like that year over year over year and continue to exist that has made universities awash in cash if you go to any given school in having worked at ESPN for the last five years I've had the privilege of going to some very beautiful campuses in Lubbock Texas or at the university of Minnesota what you will see is damn near country clubs I'm talking water slides folks no I'm talking about money that's being used as a recruitment mechanism and finding more more ways to make it beautiful much more college talk coming up on Golic and Wingo thank you chef K. running programme eight o'clock eastern time on goal commingle SportsCenter all night I'm J. Dr. David Chao talks injuries

"Dr Child always good to have you aboard for the show. Thanks for having me. So when we look at some of the injuries that kind of flakes of the skill position talents We had a big one again in Tampa and it seems to be history repeating itself last week we talked about Mike Evans. His hamstring hamstring the season ending scenario. That played out there. Lo and behold Chris Godwin goes down with what looked like a similar injury last. We saw him carted off in the tunnel in Detroit. Coincidence there is there something going on in Tampa as it pertains to their wideouts in their hamstrings as we get into the tail end of the season they run them ragged and they throw the ball lot. That's probably the only Only Lincoln Yeah and if you really WANNA go conspiracy theory Mike Evans last week. You Scott Miller Another wide receiver earlier in the game in Chris Godwin in early in the season Perriman had a hamstring issue. So if you really trying to go that way but I think it's just coincidence and maybe some of it is They're still slinging the ball around quite a bit Four hundred fifty yards for James Winston This week so so they were running a lot of routes and so forth as we talked about Mike Evans Hamstring with significant and with only three games left. We thought you and I are candidate. I think the same something's GonNa fall for for Chris Godwin here. You know there's only two weeks left there the bucks out of it The hamstring is probably going to be longer than that and he's probably headed into reserve so What does that mean I mean? Had you know from a fantasy site look for paramount. Because Winston's going to have to you. Who else is left? That's a blow. Be still my heart God. What has been the Horse Dr John? That's gotten me in the fantasy. Football finals beat up on her. Dear friend Clay Travis this past past week and in a massive showdown GonNa help that somebody else on my rosters able to step up and fill that void pain savior jokes. Because I know you're gonNA take cheap shots I'm not at all I'm not at all actually gonNA transition to another wide receiver with Adam Phelan. There was talks that he wasn't going to return until he was one hundred percent. Healthy Limited. Snap count this past against the chargers. What do you think that was maybe score or Israel setback therefore Adam feeling well? I think it's a original part of the plan in preparation. Maybe the seven snaps were only because of because of the score but he was never gonNA play fifty Think about it this way first of all if you look Ah. The history of what happened with Phelan was supposed to be a minor hamstring. You played it. Two weeks aggravated missed. Many more weeks. Try to come back to fast in in Practice aggravated again. So they've been burned twice with aggravation. Do you think they were GonNa be burned a third time when next week. They have the Monday night game against against the packers which is for the division and then even the week seventeen game against the division rival bears. This were the LA chargers not that you look past with them. But I don't care who it was only made medical sense to bring him back a little more slowly this type give them a few game raps so that he can and be good to go for the packers. I think you'll see. EEOC normal reps against the packers next week but there was no way he's going to see normal routes this week and so even when Schefter after said he was going to play and be fine. I never thought he would. But you know we all know coachspeak right. It's just another example of coachspeak another guy that's critical to the Vikings offensive successes. Delvin Cook suffered another shoulder. Injury couldn't return against the chargers. Obviously you mentioned the importance of the Monday night. Game against the packers will Delvin Cook play and if so how effective can you be. Well here's a good news. Bad News Bad news is he got hurt again and you didn't finish the game the bad news. It's actually a new injury and that's also the good news it's a new injury if it were the SC join again the right Septa. You'd have to say. Even when he plays against the packers he's one hit one play from being out against. This seems to be something to his left shoulder by video. I can't tell you exactly what it is. There's which sometimes good news because if he dislocated I could tell you. I don't think that's the case. I can't tell you exactly what he has. But it's new to the left shoulder and I think there is okay. Good chance I would expect that he will play and be good to go against the packers And I think that's part of where they said Look L.. Let us live to fight another day Dalvin and rest the rest of the game here in terms of feeling like they have a game in hand out in Los Angeles makes percents with a capable fill in like Mike. Boone had two touchdowns he actually had the second highest sparks score among running backs in two thousand eighteen draft only behind saquon so hard running running in athletic last Vikings Guy One ask you about. That's crucial to the defense's cornerback. Xavier Rhodes went into the chargers game with an ankle. Injury already played through it left left with what appeared to be a calf injury. Does he have a shot to play against Green Bay it's GonNa be hard Calf injuries linger CT Way Hilton. And uh-huh this even though he was GonNa want to at the quarterback position. It's pretty hard to break in driving the ball. If you don't have your staff there then you add the lingering ankle. I mean when you talk about multiple injuries and one of them being calf especially the positioning place as optimistic as I am on Dow Cook able to go. I'm not pessimistic and league's exist your roads being able to go last one. I want to ask you about beforehand it back to todd. The timeline probably doesn't work if it's a high ankle sprain but The seasons on the Line Right Philadelphia Dallas does lane. Johnson have a chance to play this week. I think he does first of all learning clean. Johnson Yasser Heikal Spring He might get some pre-game quote acupuncture to play area. I mean it's it's that big give a game and the other thing is he. You know Yes he's a tackle so he's a little more in space and I can guard. But but certainly it's easier to for a Lineman Wiedeman an offensive lineman to play through high ankle than some other skill position. So I think he's GonNa try everything you can to go. The question is If he can royal factor if you will be I think you're GONNA try all hands on deck type game coming up Sunday for the division and I know a lot of our board listeners Dr Chow who have been writing this Eagles Eagles train with the division future since the beginning of the season. So we'll all sit with wait and wait with bated breath as they go into that one against maybe resurgent cowboys team is short home underdogs but but before we get there. We do have a Monday night. Football game and clearly. The biggest injury around this contest is with. Ty held a lot of optimism through colts camp but you look through some of the lingering signs for T. Y.. Hilton this calf injury. Do you expect him to be able to give it a go tonight. And if if even tries how effective do you believe. He can be out there as a viable deep throat against the Saints Defense. Well you know. There's there's there's two two thoughts here the he will play thought and he won't play thought if you go by what the head coach says and very fulmer to him. Even Situation Frank Reich is if he plays on Monday. We'll be at one hundred percent. I E not playing short of a hundred percent. Well if that is actually true. He's not playing period. There's no way that cafeteria one hundred percent is lingered this long another couple of days. He's been full practice all all week and other days isn't GonNa Change Anything. There's no way he's hundred hundred percent for tonight's game. So we're going to stick to what Frank Reich really sad. Ty He's already told US T Y Hilton's not playing but we all know coachspeak and we all know this is. The colts is kind of last chance. They kind of have to win to stay in it to have any chance to stay in it so That may push what t y Hilton does and you may try. Try and go always interesting to see these guys and who's able to gut it out. As it becomes a war of attrition at this point in the season especially with playoff berths hanging in the balance team saw hang on for dear life in their respective conferences. You can follow Dr David Show on twitter at pro football doc like we say every week the single best source for injury information not only for your sports gambling but for those fantasy football ball championships. That are coming up. He's got a great podcast. Delve sometimes a little bit deeper into a lot of the injury information. Dr Chow. Can't thank you enough for your time. Although I'm going to have to cry before we continue the rest of this podcast with pain now. Knowing Chris Godden won't be available for me to go out there and win a title sort of your that gets into. Thanks as always Dr

"ZIPRECRUITER DOT COM SLASH SB cab hit with Evan Kaplan are statistical colleague and friend around here at ESPN and we were just talking about how crazy it's been in the nfl you ever seen the stretch like this has been nutty right so it's been unbelievable. I mean starting since when the season opened with the the bears packers game and and over the last two weeks. It's it's been something new every day injuries to trades to everything. I it's run the Gamut Adam. It's it's kept yep things exciting in addition to all the Games on the field well you you said since the season started at the outset of this podcast. I talked about the fact that it goes back to the preseason with with everything that's happened with Antonio Brown Andrew Lock Judean Cloudy Laremy Tunsil Minkah Fitzpatrick all the quarterback injuries the quarterback benching I would venture to say that it has been about as busy opening month if we go back into the preseason that the NFL has ever had there it was the year in two thousand fourteen where the ray rice video surfaced that I think was enormously significant damaging imaging disconcerting and you had all the issues legal issues that came along with it with Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy and many the other incidents that the league was dealing with but but this from a football standpoint trades hirings firings tyrants traits all that stuff. This has been different different. This has been crazy and it's almost like the NFL is taking a page from the NBA playbook. I would agree I. It's something new every day you you were talking about. Andrew Lock in some of the moves during you can go back to the draft and that's as we've seen this week that kind of set the stage for at least one of these big quarterback stories with what the giants did in that in the draft in April and let's go to that because on Tuesday morning the giants announced that they were benching ally manning two time superbowl champion for Dangle Jones and now Dangle Jones will be going up against Tampa Bay to make his first. Nfl Start what is your perspective on this type of Move Evan. Well look we were in Nashville together for the draft and it was a note that I'd come up with and you've seen a lot of places already this week there was there was just no chance that the giants giants were. GonNa sit Daniel Jones for the entire year based on what we've seen recently look. I'm not saying what the what Dave cattleman and the giants were going to do but on the recent history fourteen of the last fifteen quarterbacks picked in the top six overall started at least ten games as a rookie you can stop right there the only one who didn't was jared. Goff who still started seven games as a rookie so while I don't know if we thought it would be this soon Daniel Jones if he starts every game without injury that's fourteen eighteen for the rest of the season and when you look at ally and I know earlier you talked about the quarterback injuries. Eli Manning most starts in the NFL since he made his he's I start back in two thousand and four who else is in that top. Five drew brees Ben Rothlisberger those three one super bowls in consecutive three consecutive seasons tallaght that two thousand seven season Eli Manning and the giants two thousand eight season. Ben Roethlisberger and the steelers two thousand nine season drew brees and the saints. We won't see any give them start in week three amazing now what was that that fourteen fourteen of the last fifteen quarterbacks picked in the top six overall started at least ten in games in their rookie season go right there you go and and Jones looks like he will start at least ten as well but how about that two thousand seven eight nine the raising adding. Ben Breeze and none will start on Sunday. We haven't seen a week where those three quarterbacks have not been a part of the league. It's a changing the guard in many ways it really is it really is but with all that being said changing the guard who is still there with his team to know Tom. Brady of course here's the other quarterbacks getting her other quarterbacks get bench. He's he's forty two just keeps going on and now a home game against the jets where he has been almost under it's ridiculous his home record against the AFC east forty six and five including the playoffs five losses one of those losses. You didn't play the second half. It was a meaningless week seventeen meaningless for the patriots week seventeen seventeen game against the bills so his last loss at home against the division when he played the entire game the two thousand ten divisional playoffs with with our friend Rex Ryan and the jets when they beat them in Foxborough. Tom Brady has divisional playoff home game in nine years. You don't even need playoff he has not lost a game against NFC east when he played the entire game a little bit of a caveat AFC EAST AFC's AFC sorry he is not lost game against the AFC's when he when he was when they were the plane the whole game and it meant something since the two thousand ten plates we have to add a little caveat because of the two thousand seventeen two thousand fourteen situation when he only played the first half but still I mean jets coming up there this week. I think we would all be shocked considering the jets quarterback situation if the Patriots don't move to three and now we do have an unbelievable able quarterback match up this week and what is the best game of the week in my mind Baltimore Ravens at the Kansas City Chiefs Lamar Jackson Verse Patrick Mahomes. I think the two you best stories the NFL season so far. What are we make that match up their numbers are almost identical through two weeks this season and you'll get them sit both have seven touchdown passes tied for the most in the NFL and zero interceptions this is according to allies of the first season in NFL history where two quarterbacks had seven touchdowns and no interceptions in their team's first two games of the year so you look at the historic start for both of them and they played a great game last year Adam as we've talked about in Kansas City. The Lamar Jackson played very well had the ravens on the cusp of a win Arrowhead Stadium Mahomes leading them back on a late game tying drive. They won an overtime the chiefs chiefs but certainly looking forward to this one early on Sunday and we also have a match up of sack leaders Aaron Donald the rams going up against myles Garrett and the browns announce. What do we make of that match. Evan Yeah on on Monday night football after the game with Suzy Kolber and and Louis Riddick Steve Young we had myles Garrett on the field they were asking him about out being developed in the player of the year. That's been Aaron Donald's territory the last few years myles Garrett has is second in sacks over the last two seasons behind Donald and there will be on the same field this Sunday night in Cleveland. You look at the one and two players in sacks. It will be very interesting to see Garrett. Already has five sacks ax in two games this season. He's not Aaron Donald but he's off to start and they're going to need that pass rush against the high powered rams offense in Cleveland Sunday night. Hey Evan. Thanks for the great information about week three. We'll look forward to talking to you before week. Four and enjoy the games this week thanks a lot out of you and a special social thanks to my colleague at Espn Evan Kaplan for that tremendous insight into the week three matchup some incredible numbers there that he came up with and gives you an idea of we're going to see this upcoming weekend. Thank you to Chris Godwin. The buccaneers wide receiver has been one of the top receivers in football this season. It looks like he's going to be that way for the remainder of the season of real breakout star this year and congratulations to Torrey Smith on an incredible run rising up from everything that he's had to overcome overcome to achieve all the success instability that he has after a great. "Man Coming off a career high hundred twenty one yard receiving performance last Thursday night against the Carolina Panthers Getting Ready See for Sunday's big game against the New York giants. We Bring Indie. Tampa Bay buccaneers wide receiver Chris and Chris. Thanks for taking the time today. Yeah no the problem. Thank you for having me on Chris. What is clicked for you in this your third. NFL season honestly I. It's Kinda tough to say but I think the biggest thing would. Let's be a I'm going to get more comfortable more comfortable playing at this level more comfortable with what I'm seeing from defense and taking a coachman that I'm getting in and kind of translating it to the Game Phil. What does it take to get more comfortable like that. I really just takes a lot of reps. there's a lot of repetition practice both in the offseason program man in training camp and then you know throughout the week of practice just just really all those all those repetitions all the film all the time. She's been watching film and Kinda. Just he's just put together. I know it's two weeks look. It's a long season. You've got fourteen more regular season games. But what were you expecting coming into this year. Were you expecting to have the kind of production that you've had the first two weeks of the season Chris. Honestly I every time I go out there you know I I have high expectations for myself. I I think everybody should you know because if you're not going out there expecting the best things from yourself. I think you're in the wrong business. you know so as we go out there and and I approach every day with the with the intent to get you know get better to get a little bit better so that my game time comes you know where I stand. I feel comfortable with with my preparation. What kind of chemistry I review built up with your other opposite wide receiver Mike Evans as the buccaneers top two receivers. It isn't really good I. I think think we both do a lot of a lot of chemistry together. I think the biggest thing is you know since I've gotten here is such a great you know influence on me such a role model you you know someone. I can look up to see everybody the success that he's had but he's a great dude on and off the field. You know any question that I've ever had he's been right there. It kinda helped guide me you know showing MIDORI. What's thing you've learned from him? Chris just really just just so you know that that competitive edge and then using your size. I'm obviously makes a really big Guy Diane. You know I think I'm I'm not as big as my but I like to think of myself as a physical guy so just kind of like using this is to our advantage. He's not upset with you for taking targets and touchdowns sounds the first two weeks of the season no man Mike he's he's a self do manno winning and you did get the win last week against Carolina. What about working with James in the final season of his contract. What have you seen from him in terms of growth. I've seen a ton of stuff man. I mean the first first thing that jumps off the edge off at you about James his you know his charisma. You know obviously he's A. He's a natural born leader. He's on God there and he's going to give you all you know no you. That's one thing you know about. Him is when loser draw you know that you're going to get James his all of his heart you know and I think that one thing done really good this year. It's Kinda just like leading us. You know just to stay in the moment not worrying about the previous plane. I worry about the next player but the player that we're all right now Chris. The buccaneers haven't made the playoffs since two thousand seven. Were you aware that yeah I think I I think I've heard it in passing. What would it mean to you to get back to the postseason. Reach the postseason for the first time in your career. I'm I saw. I think it'd be awesome. You know obviously real. We all played his game to win and if if we're going to retry it to my goal you know win the Super Bowl. We have to you know reach the playoffs I I I think that'd be a big step for this franchising and for us at the team before you became the eighty fourth overall pick in the third round of the two thousand seventeen. NFL Draft Graf Chris you were at Penn State where you had one hundred and fifty three catches for twenty four hundred yards and eighteen touchdowns. You also played there with Saquon Barkley who the buccaneers face on Sunday. What what did you learn from Saquon. What did you see about his game. That told you that he would be the kind of store that he is. At this level. I mean honestly like everybody else sees the his physical gifts. You know he's very athletic. you know there. There's there's not much much that he can't do on the football field but I think the the thing that we really notice that pens they was you know his competitive edge and his work ethic was second to none. You know he's going to go out there. He wants to would be the best you know. Eat Me wants to be the best thing or whether he's playing connect four hours on the football field and gifts that he has and that and that mentality you knew that there was some special yeah. What do you remember most about playing with him. Is there one memory one story one incident that you could say this symbolizes kind of guy and player that saquon Barkley is I don't know if it was you know. Nestle like one one instance that you know that I really remember. I think I feel like the first time that we recognize that he was going to be some special. Was I think his freshman year. We're playing buffalo and that was the first time he had jumped over. Somebody really man kids got it and then you know and then you see leadership stuff off the field and you're like he he really has. It's all the tools Chris. Are you telling me that you've never jumped over somebody during game man. I don't know if I would dare to do that. That's pretty bold and they had ah could you do it. If you needed to Chris oh I think I could. I believe I believe him. I see I wanNA see on Sunday. When you play the I want to see jump over somebody. There and I want you to think cast when you do jump over somebody gosh if we could get that done many requests on podcasts for guys but then unless that I'm putting out there for you to jump over somebody volt over somebody on Sunday. Definitely keep that in mind now. I don't know if you've heard the news about the other vaulting that's gone on in New York but Dangle Jones's voltage over Eli manning on the giants quarterback depth chart. What is it like when word of that change hits your building and a week where so you're preparing to face the giants. Did you hear that news today. this is the first. I'm hearing about it but I mean if I know our defense. you know like the way day that they approach the game. I I think I I don't know if it necessarily changed as much. I think either way like those those are two very capable quarterback that you have to you know that you have to be prepared or four so I doubt they're going to change that preparation. I think they're gonNA have that same attack. Mentality regardless whose back there didn't know the news that Daniels are still no. This is the first I'm hearing about it. Well okay well. When we get off this podcast you can go till the defense and you bring up your defense and your team's defense. Last last year was not very good but this year it's been very good you practice against him. Every day. What to you is the biggest difference in the defense from last year this year. I think I think their their mentality you know is is is awesome this year. I think like I said they have that attack. Mentality and you can tell they're all say faith. You know I think it goes done a really good job both of getting these guys unified on the same page and understanding what we're trying to attack offenses on the and all the guys really bought in you know I think I think that's a testament to like. I said to goals but also you know to the guys on defense. GonNa keeping everybody together important roof in the same direction Chris. There are like I said Fourteen Games left to your torch starts so far. What do you have in mind for the remainder of the season for what you can do. I feel like I have so much room to grow I've recognized. I've I've done some good things so far but I feel like I'm like I'm only scratching the surface and I'm excited about about the potential for growth but I also understand that you know that's not gonna come without hard work. You know so. I'm a pure pushing this same well. I've always happened. Just take one day at a time. Just try to keep improving to learn the stakes so that when I got the game China you know trying to have a lot of fun and try to you know play play worry free well Chris. I appreciate taking the time today good luck against the the giants on Sunday good luck for the remainder of the season and good luck vaulting over some giants helpless giants defensive back on Sunday. I appreciate your meal. There's the buccaneers doc in years wide receiver Chris Cottam before we get to. ESPN stats even Evan Kaplan..

"So there's no way you come back that can play football correct absolutely not this is a retirement retirement. I'm not on the fence I wanted to I could have played but I think I think the timing was right you know it's kind of like the perfect storm and so painful for the NFL I'm thinking of all relationships all the coaches that I've been able to play with I mean I'll play with some. I played on some amazing change with some great men and think about the coaches the great man the coaches that I've been around Ron Rivera is one of the the best man that I've known I think about John Harbaugh. You know he's awesome. he's always been the same. He's always construction long as I've known them doing absolutely and I think about my receiver coach Adam Henry out in in Cleveland browns Cleveland Right now with Jarvis where he coached in college. I think about Jim Hospital who I was with and Baltimore and also at the end and Carolina I mean that man helped groom only as a player in so many different ways and Bobby Ingram you know talk with him about being a player in life or whatever like these are like these all these men played a part in helping to shape. I am so I'm so grateful for the NFL experienced the leadership there and opportunity to you know impact others around around you you know if you play it years and you win the two super bowls and you play with all these great men like that. Is there a moment to you that stands out about your the. NFL career is winning. The Super Bowl is landing contract. Is it doing something in your community Tori. I think is everything I think about. I can think about some specialty from everywhere. I've been like in Baltimore like everyone knows Baltimore's like home for me like family the city and organization so so I just remember the night my brother has had and the team helping me get through all of that the fans the the sport they had helped me get through all of that and winning the superbowl that same year three months later there's nothing that can replace that time period and that meaning not only to myself but to my family. I think about going to San Francisco and we struggled it was tough. It was a very tough two years for me personally Dan and plan out there it was it was tough but I think about you know. The I like Jed York you know I love J. J. Yore duck and I think think about you know being a part where you know you almost watch them learning and grow as a as a as a young owner in this league and I. I think he's going to do great things. They're not just being in a different completely different parts of the country that I never would have been in and seeing the history forty niners the legends that come through there Jerry Rice Joe Montana just saying how much they mean to the people what they were able to accomplish and you think about Philadelphia I mean the most passionate fans in all of sports you think about playing with a young playmaker and Carson Carson Wentz you think about Nick Foles Philly special thing about the slave and it was right on my wife's on town and there's nothing that Kosta in the luckiest play ever been a part of with the knee bouncing near with the ball bouncing of me neal's knee I mean that was the craziest thing I've seen and been a part of the fans there during that parade yeah man. I mean man I it's it's I still get goosebumps thinking about it. What's so filling your wife's hometown phillies your wife's hometown yes. He's a multi season dogging twenty minutes outside the city and was she a big eagles fan in growing up or she didn't care yeah. Her folks were hurtful so they muscles so so her their daughter marries a great guy and helps helps them win. The super bowl their first one man trying to nuts. I'm I guess I keep telling people like to differ ever phase of my life yeah but that's one man the more I started thinking about the board. It's just I just told you about how my brother had passed. WanNa Pitbull for that like that has a lot like as tough to replace back but I just remember being young. I'm twenty two twenty three zero. When we want it back then and all of my family celebrate mothers siblings my mom you know and we were just celebrate on the field and then I think you fast forward to Philadelphia and Dan. I'm on the field and now I had two kids of my own and we're celebrating the field. They're throwing the confetti up and I mean it was just crazy. Look I just saw a picture from the other day. This is unbelievable. You know and I'm and I know some legends never had the opportunity to even playing the super bowl so to be a part of to to write organization to great cities and win man. I don't even I don't even know what I did to deserve all of that. You know the best part of these these jobs Tori whether it's playing football or covering football or being any part of football the best part of these jobs sometimes sharing the experiences with loved loved ones and that sounds like something you learned in the difference between winning Super Bowl forty seven with Baltimore in Super Bowl fifty to Philadelphia that when you share it with somebody somebody else it means that much more you know I agree man. It's like even to this day is gone back Philadelphia. What I'm going to get a cheese steak or whatever and people are still going crazy. You know daylight. This is why they waited so long and I happen to awesome all of that and I'm very thankful used to pay for the cheese steak in Philly occasionally but they take care of me. Okay Take Care of you. Did that's a good thing right movie but retired. I gotTa make sure I'm on the right right side of the fitness journey or going not staying I did now. What does it been like for you the first a couple of weeks of the season to watch the Games and see the game go on without you. you know whether it's actually been a greatest. Everyone's like man is going to be where I wouldn't practicing the game plan and I wouldn't expect them to be released so for me. It was like you know. We're watching the game lately seven days later that was practicing the thing but I didn't feel any type of way I felt like man like I was complete ten like and I was able to enjoy the game and my Sunday own enough that he knows what's going on now. He knows the players you know and I was I was able to talk to him about it and you know he's asking kids they had to you know so and so or all these things like. I just felt like I felt really good to just be dad and and flip through the channels and not having seven agenda or or want someone to win or someone that lose we just watching the game. I should ask you before. I let you go surprised at all. The Colin Kapernick hasn't gotten another chance surprise. No I'm not surprised because I think it's clear that people teams are bold enough to pick him up and at this point we know is not a talented she. They know his Morgenthau's. How's it does I think the the ownership put elitist. I mean I don't. I don't think they're willing to handle the media that come with is it and I think that's week in my opinion. I say this all the time we admitted as league who been arrested for selling and doing the drugs for beating women for the U is all kinds of different things and all he did was taken the need. It didn't hurt anyone. He didn't hurt himself. All he did was taking me so to me. That always stands out but I mean I would like you for someone to give him a shot. He hasn't even had a workout so I don't know man. I I very I don't not. I don't know hopefully what else he'll get out but it's the right thing to do. wants to plays and working out. He deserves the put but I remember along their bid their business differently in We'll see what happens online. What would it take for him to get a workout a workout because that's what I'm saying. They can't even workout that is that's the part that drives me crazy to mow. I live just tweeted about the he couldn't even get a workout like forgetting signing. There's quarterbacks literally dropping like flies. Yes and he can't even get a workout a proven guy. I mean it doesn't make any sense but that's all that's odd like the jets have Luke Falk on the roster trevor semi. Yeah and they can't bring in this a look at. I don't mean the jets particularly anybody that lose their quarterback right. That's because of not to them. It's not strictly a football issue the longer this has gone on. I think it's it's people don't WanNa deal with what they consider. A distraction even know I play with them. I played with air agreed in and Carolina like only a distraction initially with the media but it really doesn't bother anybody else. I tell people that are confused by distraction thing. I said he's doing before the game. I said if he was taking a knee uncover to these safety during the game then we'd have issue but he's not. He's doing it before the game. You know what's happening. He's a great team. He's a great leader in the community so what's going on and that's the same with cat cavs not bothering bothering any warning a protest the game yes if you ask him questions. You're gonNA tell you education but it doesn't bother anyone is not harming any he's the ease protesting peacefully and it does not hurt the team I I don't. I don't understand it but again you guys not for me. It doesn't make any sense you could wonder about that when you get into the media to that could be a point that you make their Tori. That'll be one of the first issues you could work on. When you come join this man I absolutely long before I even the clues speaking on his adding trying to for for years and they incision makers and people are more concerned about things that they feel like it's all about money and necessarily gaining money but losing money you ask me why can't a team like Jacksonville. Knicks out for a while. You have a cool looking quarterback. I like his attire but you have a guy like Cabernet. Maybe talking about it was about money you go to Jacksonville gets fill that thing up and he can win some game. You get somebody who's doing shot to get in the door and you never know what can happen but he can't even get a workout so horse and make the team a lot more relevant it than it has been onto another quarterback onto another quote. Your former teammate and Carolina Cam Newton been battling an ankle injury. Don't know whether he's GonNa play this week. Had off season. Shoulder surgery seems to be banged up. Could you see a scenario in which he would be like Andrew Luck and just walk from the game. No not at all can't can't can't and that's not saying Andrew. Luck isn't passionate because if if anybody understands Andrew Luck I do. I was at that point three months ago. Where my knee wasn't getting much. I didn't think I was going to be able to do it so I understand but can has workers tail off and he doesn't want for people doubting him that he can't do it and so I know that's competitive idea so I just don't that would never happen into never what are your expectations from what we will see from him the remainder of this season. I think I'm going to well. I think he's GonNa go out. I think he's GonNa play the way he he's expected to. I just hope and pray that he can get his Health Elsa because I know what type of player is and he's updating candidate warrior. I've known for years. We came in together but the last year so much that he doesn't like it and I hope that you know he gets his beckoning. Go out there and prove everybody wrong. There's a lot of people who wanted to and before I let you go Tori. You played the eight years in the NFL..

"It can't believe I'm going to say this. Your genius well well. You welcome I kind of am. We're on the ten minutes. Maybe we should get that. Kleenex out of your nose this weeks out of shifter podcast. It's week three of the NFL season. We're going to talk to former. NFL Wide Receiver Torrey Smith who just announced his retirement from the NFL and we'll be joined by the Tampa Bay buccaneers wide receiver Cris Godwin whose off to a toward start two weeks into the year end will get a breakdown of week three from the ESPN statistics and Analytics Guru Evan Kaplan but I a word about the week that was and what's going on in the league the last few days it started week two when we saw to marquis franchises this is the steelers and the saints lose to Future Hall of fame quarterbacks and Ben Rothlisberger and drew brees changed the fortunes thousands of the season for both teams in the case of Pittsburgh with Ben Rothlisberger gone for the year it makes you think that Baltimore becomes the heavy favorite to win the AFC north and we'll have to fend off a challenge from the Cleveland browns though it a bit to Mason Rudolph the man who takes over for Ben Rothlisberger her to keep Pittsburgh's hopes alive and of course Pittsburgh must have strong hopes because it already traded its first round pick to the Miami Dolphins for Minka Fitzpatrick. A quarterback drew an awful lot of interest around league but Pittsburgh feels like with its defense improving Minka Fitz Patrick will upgrade that defense and make it better and Pittsburgh's got the one with some defense now not Ben Rothlisberger offense and think about this a year two years years ago the steelers were led by Ben Rothlisberger Antonio Brown living on Bell. None of them will play for Pittsburgh the remainder under of this season as for the New Orleans Saints drew brees think about US close the saints wore to making it to the Super Bowl last year one call that everybody everybody knows about from the NFC championship game that went against the saints and for the Rams cost them an appearance in the Super Bowl where they would have had a chance to beat the New England patriots and the fact that drew brees then goes out and hurts his thumb in week to the next year shows you just how tough this year to year to repeat and to count on being back to that big. Nobody goes back every year. Unless you're the New England patriots they are immune to all rules but the saints were on the doorstep doorstep of greatness in each of the past two postseasons only to see the Minnesota miracle and then the call that changed the way that the league views those types of plays with new rules saints drew brees now after turn Teddy Bridgewater who's a steadying force but I think ASEM hill still brings the most upside and I still think we'll see tastes him hill at quarterback at some point for the New Orleans Saints and then some of the doors quarterbacks and news we mentioned Minkah Fitzpatrick being traded to Pittsburgh Berg Miami Gutting. It's team stockpiling draft picks five number one picks and second round picks in the next two years loaded with picks but devoid of some key players like Laremy Tunsil on so and make a fitzpatrick as four Jalen Ramsey requested his trade spoken. Clearly Jacksonville wants to move on from him and he wants to move on from Jacksonville but Jacksonville not gonNA move on from Jalen Ramsey until it gets a package that it wants that it's comfortable with and it thinks fair and we we know that it's way more than a first round pick which is basically the price that the steelers paid for Minkah Fitzpatrick. We'll see what Jacksonville could get back for Jalen Ramsey but the trade deadline's October twenty ninth and it's just a matter of time before Jalen Ramsey is dealt and then the news of course on Tuesday morning the New York giants benching Eli he Li- manning a two time superbowl champion two time superbowl MVP to go to Dangle Jones the rookie first round draft pick and everybody knew that at some point this season. Dangle Jones was going to get the opportunity to start but nobody thought it would be Tuesday September seventeenth which was a much quicker timeline than anyone would have thought that the giants felt like a team that was missing wide receivers struggling on defense needed a a injection of energy feel like Daniel Jones brings certain elements that ally manning doesn't and so alive manning now goes to the bench and the the madness of the NFL continues and you look at the last month all the news that has happened Andrew Luck retiring Antonio Brown with everything anything that's gone on with him from Oakland to New England to the accusations of three different sexual assaults to the player trades trades that we've seen a devon clouded to Seattle Laremy Tunsil to Houston Minka Fitzpatrick to the Pittsburgh steelers to the injuries of quarterback quarterbacks to the benching of quarterbacks. It has been about as busy period is the NFL could ever expect over the course of one month very rarely is the NFL that busy. We're busy today with this. PODCAST and first up is the great man and former. NFL Wide Receiver Torrey Smith are joining us now is a man who played eight NFL seasons for the Ravens to with the forty niners one with the panthers at the Eagles and posted his retirement video video on uninterrupted last Friday Torrey Smith Tori. Thanks for taking the time really appreciate it and I'd like to know what went into the decision vision to walk away from the game of football at the age of thirty for me. It was a combination of things you know number one being the situation relation I told my wife before the year that it was going to be my last year anyway. is surgery. I have the plan the Eagles in October Cobra last season and I had surgery and everything well I was fine. at least we thought and then when we stopped in the off season my. La Basically shut down and like we stood on why but it wasn't right I wasn't able to dog I wasn't able to for sure wasn't able to sprint jump anything and so work my tail off and I was able to make it back for camp in healthy enough to play and I know I like I said I work myself back in but during the offseason I learned that you know like it was kind of an eye opener to me when I'm supposed to be healthy be but like I couldn't go play. My Kids and you know my son's five. We want to go outside and play and I couldn't do it. get my daughter out of credit my Naser her and then it Kinda like a little flash of light. You know you have some knee issues down the line and I kinda started thinking a little bit beyond the game like is it worth it is not and so I was willing to you know take a role in Carolina to finish up here and play here. I wanted to say I did and then yeah when I was released. it just didn't make as much sense to to move into a new place. How concerned are you about the long term effects of what you put your body through not just the NFL seasons but the time you played in college and the time he played in high school and how that will impact your future life. I think something has to be concerned about when you watch the dog guys who play before the older guys and you know some people struggle. Hello and some people are doing perfectly fine so. I don't try to love everything in in one basket but you know I've been. I've been running media. You know planning for a while so I understand that you know things can happen to your body. down the line because of the things you do when you were younger and that's is if you're an athlete or not so. I don't really kind of put that on the box you know having a trauma to my to my knee. I do know that you know there's GonNa me some issues there down the line but I'm happy that I'm you know I'm in okay. Oh now and I don't see anything in the near future. That should probably stop me from at leaves me comfortable you mentioned some people struggle and some people are fine post football ever stop to think why that is because it's amazing to think some people have gotten beaten up during their careers and I see them functioning at a high level and others are limping along and struggling physically post football and I just think it's simply everyone's bodies different everyone's by having everyone gets all caught up in c. t. and always other things but like the guys who had plenty of concussions whenever plan and there's absolutely nothing wrong with them as aging adults so the body is different and I think we we all need to realize that and one person's situation you use for current players right one person might tweak a hamstring and he's offer sake seven weeks and people are like what's wrong with this do like you know coaches players and everyone was what's wrong with them but everyone's body is different and that's probably one of the biggest things. I learned from. This game is that everyone's bodies different. Everyone hills different. Everyone handles conditioning different. Everyone's wins different so you just for me. It's better to be informed and to know what's out there. So therefore I know that look for the signs I know how to be more for you know preventive of being out in front of things and that just makes more sense to me in the video that you posted you thanked the game of football ball for showing you how to be a man. How did football show you how to be a mandatory. Yeah you'd think about I think about all of the the discipline hardware sacrificed putting someone before myself. you know all of these things are really like life skills that you have to have and you learn simply by being dedicated to the game of football and more than that having the men around me that I could look at that. I could see you know what a mansard look like what a man should be like what a husband should be. What father should be like. These are all things that wouldn't have happened for me if it wasn't for the game of football so I'm definitely grateful for that and the impact that the game James Not only my life would would you know literally everyone that's around the and the way I grew up on. It's amazing that you know about planned. Game has been able to change the future for media. Fan and I guess that's in the obvious ways right financially. You are able to do things that you were never able to do while you were growing up. Is that correct. Ori Absolutely financially but because of finances are removed There's opportunity there you know. I had to play play a sport because I knew my mom couldn't pay for college so I got this way. There's military you know I was going to student loan debt which as a scam but you know for me. I like my son. Maybe chooses my boys and my daughter. They choose the doing the extracurricular activities they can do because they want to not because they need it as a tool to get out They don't have to worry about nothing stable. They don't have to worry about moving moving living being in the shelter. Whatever may be they don't have to worry about a lot of different things than simply having stability eliminate so many other things that we often forget about. Did you feel the pressure of having to get a scholarship as you're going through high school. Oh absolutely I mean that's just the that's just the way it is. you know you ah any and every kid that you know they're trying to make your food your mom. Your parents were living with on macy. food on the table bare necessities for life and you know it'd be a talk because when you're just trying when you're surviving that way to try to go out and get the school paid for by your parents so for me. I knew my mom couldn't do it not that. She didn't WanNa do it but you know it just wasn't feasible so I knew I had to go. Aren't it and again for me. It was that or through the military I didn't WanNa have any debt so if you hadn't gotten the scholarship what what branch of the.

"May I expect digs the place so you know you probably be fine with them but if you need a replacement they do jobs will be the guy would lean toward not expect him to get a healthy amount of touches specially they're chasing points which would probably be the case playing in New Orleans a primetime game so I like to set up for a lot of good players there though yeah really good roster yeah all right could could job Philip in Richmond fill up your own eye on fantasy football by the way the number eight five five two one two four two two seven give us a call we have a few minutes left in this hour in with another hour after that Philip what's going on who start Jarvis Landry Christology but. no that's not close for me I think Chris Godwin goes off absolutely goes up now here's one if you were to say Chris Godwin oriental your brown let's talk about the bucs receiver verses in Tony around for the season I will still take a Scotland. I had a feeling you're gonna say that yeah I know I figure that was kind of the range where you had Antonio brown at this point Lewis in Connecticut your own eye on fantasy football. a guy who Gloria's one quick question with the flags I'm a little bow Westbrook really. June but the Williams or doesn't Jackson. I prodigal Westbrook there you know I mean Justin Jackson could be good but I I think Westbrook probably makes the most sense just again given what his role so be it is number one receiver for my doubt what marquees these going to do but I think west park is the best nap please the west right have a good game we have recommended him so highly please have a good game Keith in New Jersey could be a lot of runs away why get marquee sign on Tuesday yeah yeah I don't know seems like alright yeah Hey Keith what's up yeah yeah Max Kevin Coleman Marvin Jones. I go I go home and I I just think you know you you take the guaranteed such as Marvin Jones could be really good again that the secondaries beat up for the cardinals but I I still think Tevin Coleman against the box especially if they're misses some guys could be great. Matt in Houston Matt go. Hey I got three guys I need a place to of I have Brandon cooks Hooper Cup anti Williams Mister terrific. yeah I'm not gonna put title Williams over those two guys yet you know even though you're you're stacking the rams could still be a great situation no we we have to see what office looks like you know in in a few weeks if you assume a few months since the Superbowl but you know getting Cooper cut back in and bring it cooks I think both guys to be fine eight five five two one two four two two seven show in Philly Joe go he guys grade the trade Damian Williams flooring Tony brown in the standard Lee. that's interesting that's the I like that I'd rather have Antonio brown there so I'll say if you're getting around this thing yeah I'll give it a go it's not as a run away but that's a good trade Eric in New York Eric go. you guys Jack Jimmy Jeter Stafford for Tony Walker or cholera thanks guys Danny Walker easily quarterbacks little bit tougher I have Jack ranked higher than to rob Lowe but it would not be a shock to me to see crop will pay better just because the giants tend to give up rushing production against the cowboys more so than they do pass production especially the first meeting for dak against the giants every year but I think that having all these weapons are disposal makes a little bit safer with him. our number one under our belt Janie how do you feel. I feel like Antonio brown move on just okay again and running around your backyard without a shirt on but you're sure not JB alright everybody thanks so much for your phone calls we got another hour coming up eight five five two one two four two two seven yes in case you haven't heard Antonio rounds on the patriots but he's not even playing week one so we don't have to talk about that we can answer all of your start and sit questions you got a trade whatever you want to talk about you give us a call we tell you what to do what say about which games were excited about and who's got something to prove in week one stay tuned our number two a violent fantasy football is coming right up. my clients you're proud to talk about Cody construction that's Cody C. "Even the two hundred twenty two fewer stamps to mike evans. He was amazing in the red zone. One of the best registered sanrio yeah he's up there with the andre a an antonio brown in terms of resum targets like the best four seasons in football and chris godwin maze also pointed out of aaron said he believes godwin 100-catch guy but i'm seriously this is the most height person i think i've ever seen just by consensus of people were like this is one of my five most hype guys this year. It's like he's on every list. So i see is the value getting squeeze saturday okay yeah. That is the question i really. I don't know what to tell you because i agree like he is. Probably i mean it's gonna take a lot for him to match the hype kenny do it. I think it's possible for sure <hes> but the early rounds are all about mitigating mitigating opportunity cost and you're passing up some really good players in this range <hes> right now as a._d._p. Is fifty so he is just up to the <hes> <hes> sub to the individual drafter the other thing that we're kind of not like everyone talks about bruce arians offense which i think it will be in that's hundred percent true but byron laugh which actually i suppose supposed to be calling plays. I believe so <hes> that's another layer of. I guess variants that we don't really know exactly what that's going to look like assuming it's can be the bruce arians offense but <hes> you know there. There's just a lot of question marks in the the jameis winston thing does make me a little bit nervous <hes> but yeah i don't know it. It's it's one of those things where you just gotta kinda like sometimes. He's a high upside guy. That is a little bit risky. I think okay so the next to where we have is. The mahomes christian mccaffrey award for league winners has guys outside the top in the second third fourth round who could just end up top. I five next year. You have mike evans so yeah. Are you worried enough about james that you don't like you. Don't like chris godwin but you're not worried about mike evans well. I like to be clear. I like chris godwin. I'm not quite as worried as you guys are about it <hes> but i think evans is the clear one in this and to what craig was saying like the one in those areas offenses of all have always liked produced. They're always like the vertical element of that offense is huge. <hes> and i just think the other thing is evans is done. It like you know what i mean. Godwin is shown flashes and evans is done it <hes> he's going right now as wide receiver nine eighty twenty one mcgovern's beddis mike evans yeah. He's got incredible ceiling. I think he was the wide receiver three n._p._r. P._p._i. Back in two thousand sixteen so i mean he's he's produced on an elite elite level and for comparison chris gaborone's going roughly fifty overall. He's like the twenty-first receiver goings actually right around cooper cup up and shawn watson in a._d._a. <hes> evans just a couple numbers. I <hes> dislike looking through twitter today like he stacked eight hundred yard games last year. Which was the third most most those field yates posted that <hes> that was third tied with juju smith schuster only behind julio feeling <hes>. He's had the fourth most receiving yards of the last three years. He's a big play machine <hes> third behind julio and hopkins and fifteen plus yard receptions last year so i mean again he's done it and i think his target numbers are gonna go up one hundred thirty nine targets last year i think his numbers.

"Because they're like. I don't know how I would assign probabilities, but I don't think it's unreasonable to think there could be four-game suspension, and he's just playing Mike from the walkie says, hey, Devon, David and Darryl. Devon, David Daryl. They were just drafted by us. They're running back. Stay are third round running backs. He wants to know why? We just assumed David Montgomery is going to be the starting running back Michael from the walkie. Thanks, mike. Davis is gonna win that job. I think it's possible that Mike Davis wins that JAL. I don't know that there's a huge difference between Davis and Montgomery in term like until Montgomery proves himself in the NFL. But the fact that the bears who were very very short on draft picks made the decision to trade up to get Gumri when they already had Davis on the roster is what makes me thinks Montgomery's gonna win. Here's an Email from Charles. Hey, model one one t one thousand TX. Was was the original. Terminator I not what I don't know the others. But I'm wondering was the original Terminator model one. Could have been. Twelve team half PR league pick two keepers for one year. Renewed penny in the fifth Marlin MAC in the seventh Ronald Jones in the ninth. Darius guys in the twelfth Chris Godwin in the thirteenth and hunter Henry in the fifteenth. I got. So I am going to. Let's let's go through and just eliminate the easy ones to eliminate. You're not keeping penny. You're not keeping all Jones keeping Ronald Jones. Then we've gotten back in the seventh. I I don't think I'm keeping Henry either. Oh, really, okay. So MAC in the seventh Geiss in the twelve Godwin in the thirteenth and Henry in the fifteenth. Interesting. I thought you would keep Henry I kind of think I wanna keep. I think I wanna keep MAC and Godwin. I definitely wanna keep MAC. I understand Geiss five ounce later could end up being better value. But MAC in the seventh is just like it safe. It's good value. Do it. So you're going God. When in the thirteenth instead of Henry the fifteenth guys twelve yeah. Because I would pick God when a couple rounds before I pick entry and I picked Godwin well before it guys. All right. And how about one more here? From Brent, dear Tony, Steve, Bruce and Clint. Is that combat book star those I don't I am not. I've never read a comic book my life. I've watched most of the movies. I don't know who Clinton. That's why I'm Clint who the hell is Clint Clint Barton who is Clint Barton. Come on. He Clint Barton. I don't know. He's hawkeye. Oh, yeah. Yeah. That guy's name, Jeremy rember or something. Sure. Jeremy renner. Here's the Email from Jimmy Renner ten team PR league. Keep six I need my last two Godwin Pettus OJ Howard hunter Henry and Kenyan Drake Godwin Pettus OJ Howard hunter Henry Kenyan Drake. So God ones that one for me. You like better than Pettus. I do. Okay. Yeah. For sure after the draft. Because I'm not one hundred percent, sure. That Pettus is going to be better than Samuel. Very these targets will be impacted. I I am really really struggling a lot with Kenyan Drake because we've got that five game stretch where they actually gave him a worse load. He was awesome. And they didn't draft anybody that I think is actually competition for him. So it really just comes down to whether you think kaylin Balaj actually better or you think that someone else's another coaching staff is going to think yet Kenyan Drake. Awesome. We give him the ball. But we shouldn't give him the ball so much. I have hard time taking over OJ our here. But well, even Howard though is like I Howard is the guy I would be trying to decide and Howard has some questions himself. He he does. Targets in a season. And he's got a head coach often system that hasn't historically targeted titans. I think that's going to change. But it's enough to question. I think I would go with drinking Godwin. Okay. Okay. Taking goblet and Howard to be interesting because you have to on the same team, their teammates strategy friendship strategy. But I support it Draken God when thanks for listening. Everybody we're done. It was awesome to have been on Kef. Brian listening have all of you out there and he thinks coming on the dynasty draft. "That'd be going wide out for sure know, no, Chris God one or Cortlandt Sutton Brooks son or Jarvis Landry. Brooks wants kirtland sudden. So we're going to do that terrible pick all right now. No, Coralline Sutton off the board to Rico next. Jarvis Landry Chris Godwin, alshon Jeffery Baker Mayfield. Mike Williams, a steel in my opinion at five twelve. David and Joe coup. Kevin Coleman Carson Wentz. Hunter Henry Mark Ingram will fuller. We're back on the clock, boys. And you know, what Mark Ingram went off to picks ago. It's a sad day. I'm okay with it. You're not this is that whole debate. We had on the show the other day where I I was reminding people you don't want to forget it just because you have short shelf life. It's the same position you need to win the league you need to have right. Upper echelon running backs to win the league just because it's dynasty league. I worry about what we're going to get out of our remaining picks. I don't know if I wanna live on Lamar millers of the world. I get it. But I think Mark Ingram is if you get two years from Mark Ingram, you should be ecstatic. I just he's about to be thirty years old. We're getting to the category that where you hope to get one year out of a running back. Yeah. I mean, the the tier of running back left on the board right now to me would be the guys like Kenyan Drake Jordan Howard, Lamar Miller where they look like they're in a position today to be the starting running back for their team. And after the NFL draft for any one of those three guys you could have drafted absolutely not. Nothing. So that is one of the feathers in the calf of drafting a guy like marking room, which we didn't. But because when you draft a guy who just got a big contract for three years, they've already they've already told you what you're doing. If you're drafting now in a lot of leagues right now. Especially dynasty. They want to draft as early as possible they'll do the startup draft now and then the rookie draft after the NFL draft. Those are those are the questions are going to have to ask yourself when you're on the clock. All right. We are on the clock. Again. We've got a decision to me. Russell Wilson still on the board. Chris Carson, Damian Williams jerick. Mckinnon Damian Williams is Howard is interesting. And I'm not going to force us to take him. At what point in a Jason, you're the most opposed Damian Williams so in a dynasty league. Is there a point where you'll say, yeah, I'm gonna take the shot for Damian Williams? Yeah. I mean, it was it would be around right now. I mean, this this is the area where you've got a young guy on a great offense. If he is the guy like if Damian Williams ends up with that job. Then this is an awesome pick like if you grabbed Amy Williams, and he keeps the job hold on. It's the best pick in the draft. I think we'd take Chris Carson right now. And then we come back next round and take Damian Williams and hope he makes it that's what I would do. I got I got to be reminded of what Chris Carson's contract situation as you've got two years left. So it's pretty good. He'll be there at least two years. They run the ball like crazy. Yes, we missed out on the Ingram. But you could come back you Google Carson and Damian Williams and put yourself in a position to have a little bit of depth in a to flex league. Renita running back to fame has not been the pinnacle of health. We're going to have to get the running backs that are starting. It's it's your call the. I like it. I I would say let's let's play with fire and see what happens..

"They throw the ball at ton. They're always behind the defense struggling they score. A lot of the touchdowns through the air. It's built for these receivers especially these three I just mentioned now at shine Jackson her to score a lot of fantasy points to get a lot of targets. And that is what we've seen all season. So let's really quickly go through each one. Mike Evans targets are down as of late. Eighteen percent. Target are over the past five weeks but still four hundred twenty one yards during that span the top ten fantasy wide receiver. So he still safe to star Chris Godwin. He had an ugly game last week ten targets only one catch. But you love the volume sixteen targets over his past two games over to twenty percent Tari chair in both of those games than actually if you look back to throughout his career five games in which he's played at least seventy percent of the snaps eight point eight targets per game. So you like that a lot I think he's a great talent on the outside. And then finally Adam Humphreys twenty fifth this season fantasy points believe it or not he's he always flies under the radar, but he's been top twenty five five of his past seven. And he is the best cornerback match. Uphill trou- Brandon car in the thought he's decent. But he's not Jimmy Smith and Marlon Humphrey on the outside. So Humphries has the best matchup or evens by the way fifth fuse fantasy points to wide receivers. No receiver unit has finished better than eighth against them. The last better than twelfth all the way back in week nine so tough match-up but an offense built for success for wide receivers. How about that? And it's just crazy that you'd have three bucks wide receivers is at the top twenty two against a very good defense against Baltimore. But Mike, you are not deterred. You're just not deterred by this. This matchup. You left Amos Winston this week as well. I mean, don't love them. But quarterback eleven is. We don't hate him either. I mean, usually I haven't top-five so I'm certainly knocking them for the match. But he and this is more about volume. Winston. And can't stand Tom Brady. Wow. Yeah. I heard that on this content. I mean who was drafted earlier. How about draft pedigree talked about Carson Wentz, we think there's a legit shot. He won't play on Sunday per reports, golden Tate because back an unranked golden tag, always seriously. Yeah. Mike before this news. You didn't have them ranked at all. And you brought a very illuminating stat to our attention about his usage last week. Yeah. Absolutely. And by the way, if you ranked him inside your top one hundred receivers us you were wrong you finish one on one. So. Disastrous behind some notable players. I'm sure. Oh, yeah. Sure. Yeah. George fan. George fantastic more points than any points less a catch. I think at one right? I think he well he finished one on one. So I guess he probably had one catch on nonetheless. You only is one finish better than forty third since he joined the eagles. It was that we that fifth-place finish a couple of weeks ago. He's he's plummeting on the depth chart. I mean, he's already playing behind Nelson eyeglass since he's been in Philly. We expected him to be the two if the if not the one right away, and you saw some targets out of the gate at the playing time has not been there. In fact, last week, he's under you just mentioned this alshon Jeffery Ryan thirty four routes in that game against Alice Nelson. I ran thirty two colon Tate ran ten pass routes. I can't start a guy running ten pass routes twenty pass routes. That's not good enough. So it's not been a good scoring offense this season. They lost their starting quarterback. Tate's not a good touchdown threat by any means. And by the way, since it keep ta- leap or turn for the Rams, the posing wide receiver units facing their finished twenty fourth and thirtieth, and that's Detroit Chicago. So you have Kenny golladay and Alan Robinson and Gabriel. I mean, there's some decent fantasy. Receivers. They're you're laughing at Gabriel..

"You know, this is a head coach that says we're a running football team were a running football team. We're going to run the ball to open up the passing game. Well when Todd in was calling the plays. They weren't running the ball at all in. They had the number one offense and football because nobody could stop the weapons that they have Mike Evans, Chris Godwin. OJ Howard is a human mismatch. No matter. What defense he's going against the speed of Sean Jackson, the the underneath ability of Cameron. Brayden Adam Humphreys, I mean, who do you who do you guard because it's nothing bought weapons. But then you have your cutter takeover playcalling. We're going to run the ball. We're going to run the ball. We're gonna run the ball. Okay. Well, you had five trips inside the red zone against the Washington Redskins. You had. A running back that was averaging four yards per carry. And there were two run place in five red zone possessions. That was that was the downfall. So if Todd Moncton gets the play calling bag I fully expect the buccaneers to be able to win this game. Now if they're cutter is still calling plays. I think we're gonna see something very similar to what we saw against the Washington Redskins. The defense feel can do enough to keep them in the game. Despite the fact that Odell Beckham junior another human mismatch against virtually any defense saquon Barkley who I was very wrong about heading into the draft yet. He is tearing things up in starting to get your out in space more. And then you have Ingram at tight end who you know, if he can hold onto the ball could be a huge mismatch against a team that's already down quality, Sander and might not have avanti's David who who has an MC L rain. So it's. One of those things where it should be whoever has the ball last. But it might end up in the giants are just going to run away with it because of the red zone ineptitude. Interesting. You know, I I lied to you while you were talking I had one more question that I need to I need to back up. An ask you mentioned, Mike Evans, you mentioned Odal Beckham. If I offered you Beckham for Mike Evans, straight up are you saying yes, or no, no? Explain I won't even hesitate again. Odell Beckham junior is amazing talent amazing. But to me, the the money that he got I think is is too much for a receiver that. To too much Terrel Owens for me. If that makes any sense, you know, the the interview that he did with ESPN when he was sitting there with little Wayne and basically throwing his team under the bus saying he wasn't sure if he wanted to be a New York that that kind of stuff rubs me the wrong way, the temper tantrums rubbed me the wrong way any did with Mike Evans. Mike Evans was a hothead early on in his career. He got a jacket from game against the Panthers. Because he he was screaming at a referee that he was interfered with on a pass in a in a game where the Panthers are up by thirty one points with two minutes left, and he sent her screaming at the ref. You know, if it's a penalty in the first quarter SRI penalty now, and he gets jetted, but he's really calmed down a lot. I like what Mike Evans does is. He is he as talented in all facets as Odal Beckham junior. No, he's not he doesn't have the speed that hotel Beckham JR. Senior does he doesn't get the yards after catch dodo Beckham junior does. But personally, I would do I would rather have a guide that can win those windows jump balls into all those things that Mike Evans does without the headaches. Thank you very much for for that answer. And James, thank you very much for spending. Some some time with me today. Why don't you tell the folks where they can where they can find your work before we let you go. Yeah. You.

"He didn't have a great year last year, but has all the way back to 'em has succeeded with succeed, not Jess with Johnny football and AM, and and and the shot Jackson's obviously a nice second option. Chris Godwin had some bad drops on Monday night. The game might have turned out different good, tight end tight ends. And by the way I, you know what I think legitimately would solve this issue. Did you see the play in the second half early on, Chris Godwin catches the ball and rolls and the Steelers DB's don't Pouncer gets up any runs it in. It turns out that his foot grazed one of the DB's. Here's what I think is a legitimate solution to some of the collisions that happen and where it gets that gray area. Like, should I hit this guy with the ball right now is they need legitimately, they need to go with college rules when you're down you're down because I think it incense you if you see a guy and he's like, is he going to is headed to the ground? You're inclined him to the ground and he's in the place over, right? And or if he's if he's headed to the ground. While he's, he might try to get back up. I'm going to like, I'm going to lunge Adam and put a shoulder into you might get a penalty there. I think there's an assumption that you're physically that guy's diving for the ball like I don't have to collide with him on the ground to keep him from getting back up. I think I bet you that would diminish some of the stuff we see. No, no, you care about. Are you obsessed by the the roughing, the passer stuff like it seems most of the world is crazy. It is crazy, and I am one of my one of my favorite dolphins plays got injured badly this weekend trying to avoid. Yeah, crazy. Clue back on it was like one of those things where it's, you can understand why that would happen anytime to shift his body weight while also tackling another lodge human being to the ground that it's, I mean it's possible to do, and then it means you're gonna land on old quickly on yourself and and Co's yourself injury. The they say it so much. It's almost a cliche, you know, when you say, wow, this guy's just gonna take it easy to want to get hurt. And they always say, when you take it easy, and when you back off is when you get hurt, you know, when you go full speed, that's how you've always played football and you just kind of know how to protect yourself. But if you try to back off is typically when things go wrong. And clearly as we've now seen things go wrong. If you back off guy lost his is season, you know, because you did exactly that it is, but what it's worse than and the catch rule or anything else in this way because it is intrinsic to a passing down that the structure of the play for the defense is the premise. For those for for those guys, trying to get to the QB is here we're putting you on the field now you say, and then the guy's going to get the ball and before he can throw it saving, get him and knock him down and tackle him with the ball. That's that's your purpose. And then these other five, six guys, they're going to try to stop you from doing that. That's the whole plays. That's the whole thing you're looking at and then the guy does it successfully. And then it's like, oh, by the way, there's a pretty big lag, but it's impossible to modify your body how you're how you're hitting a guy when you're running full speed like that, and he's moving and everything else it is. I think then allergy that I've come up with is the perfect one. It's a, like if the hotdog eating contest like the, the whole reason you're there is to just see how many of those wieners you can ingest and then right at the end like great job. You ate a ton of those wieners and by the way to thirds of them are tainted and you're gonna get sick from from what are you talking about? But I gave me the wieners..

"Seven for one eleven in one. And in this past week, three for forty one and one to Sean Jackson does not appear likely to play this year. He had a really bad can. Russian. So if you're looking at a player like Chris Godwin, how excited would you be to pick up him? Would you invest more in that budget for Chris Godwin dinner, Kenny stills because of upside or no. About the same. The same right around lays Philadelphia and Pittsburgh both games at home in the next two weeks and it does the act. Would the absence of Sean Jackson actually help Godwin? Yes, you believe or does it hurt him because the team is whoever's defending the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against those three wide receivers, but you you have to sacrifice. You can't double team every. No, no, of course. I mean, you can say, okay, he opens up the coverage, but the way that Chris Godwin place, he is a contested, catch freak. What I care about is not the coverage I care about the targets. I want him to have more volume, and I think that's only four targets less. Exactly. So if the Sean Sean Jackson were to go out, if he's not able to get back, then Godwin is a better player. I will say this. This we've seen enough games now in my opinion to make determination that. Fitzpatrick targets the wide receivers, heck of a lot more than Winston does. We saw last year relative to the tight end relative to the tight ends. And then when Winston comes in, he targets the tight ends far more than the wide receivers as relative to Fitzpatrick. And so my point here is that, hey, right now this is great if the Sean Jackson is not there and Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starting quarterback. Chris Godwin looks great, but keep in mind. I do think that there will be that shift coming in a couple of weeks when presuming that Winston takes over the pride and gig. It will shift a little bit more a little bit more away from the wide receivers in to OJ Howard a camera break. I'm gonna throw some names out there..

"I do. It is all right when I said it. Thank you. Yeah, Chris Godwin. All right. Next Email is from Dan dear Bill, Chuck, Joe and Bill. I mean, those could be Steelers co now I don't think so. I could be like some of the winningest coaches of all time. Yeah, it could be like Parcells knoll, Gibbs valid check. Let's go with that twelve team league. There's always an unbalanced schedule. After you play, every team wants. These solution is a Royal rumble where the top six teams in points get wins, and the bottom six get losses. We do this for week one. So you don't begin the year with with bad scheduling, look and we do it for week thirteen. So you don't end the year with bad scheduling. Look to me, this is a must in twelve team leaks. What are your thoughts on a Royal rumble, where the top six teams get a win and the bottom six get a loss. Dan, I've never heard of this before. I don't know how I've never heard of this before, but this is outstanding, you think? So I, I love this now. I think there are other ways to not worry so much about your scheduling. I don't know if you noticed, but I changed the rules in the for the people podcast league as far as how playoff teams are determined. Yeah, actually liked it. What did you do the top two seeds of the two best records the number three seed is the team that scores, those points besides those two and the number four students? The team with the best record after the top two. Right, right. Yeah. Okay. I like that and it's ten team league only fourteen make it, but I also I think this is I am all for different types of rules and little fun quirks and this is one of the most fun that I've heard about. We did a league back in the nano days. It was one of our podcast leaks. We played every opponent every week. I think it was sixteen teams or something, and he played fifteen matchups. I hated it. I hated it. I don't know why I lose like the personal feel of the head to head matchup. Right? But it was kind of like this. I mean rewarded the teams that did the best if you had the most points fifteen to know and so on. I hated that, but this is okay. This is all right. I like, all right. This is from idiot, moron from a city in Florida. Let's say Coral Springs. Hey, Carson, alshon j. Nelson busts sweaters hates. I have been ninth picking a PR league in the mock draft. I usually draft either Hopkins or Dell with my first pick or Melvin Gordon if he's available, which what you guys go for on your first pick. And if you take a wide receiver Hopkins Beckham instead of Gordon, should I go for the likes of Michael Thomas or kina now of my next pick or take either cook for an McCaffrey. You know, if you're an idiot more on from a city in Florida than there is no question, you should start with Hopkins and were Odell, and then you should start. They can other receiver with your next pick in p p r you are starting off? Probably with two of the top. Ten or eleven point getters in that league. And regardless of physician not counting hornbeck, so not regardless of position, and then you can get very solid high end number two running backs with your next two picks. All right, so on. Let's just for this argument. Let's look at our teams..
