Dr. Kevin Roberts Describes the Heritage Foundation's Top 3 Priorities

"He is doctor Kevin Roberts. He comes from the Texas public policy foundation with his Sterling record and he is now the big man at heritage, doctor Roberts. Welcome to America first. Seth, thanks for having me. It's a pleasure, my friend. All right, so you bring a very, very strong reputation for being a serious Texan on the issues of conservativism. We are huge fans of Ed fuller, full disclosure. My wife is a director at the heritage foundation. We are close friends with K cost James the outgoing president who is a rockstar been on the show several times. I just want to give you a platform in front of 3 million patriots. You mentioned three or four big priorities for you. I was a strategist in The White House. You can't do strategy unless you prioritize things. You can't fix everything at once. So tell Americans across the country, what heritage is new priorities are under your leadership. Number one, education. And by that, I mean, if we in the conservative movement don't take advantage of the absolute frustration that Americans, including some of whom are apolitical have with the indoctrination in our schools, we've missed the opportunity of a lifetime education number one. Number two, big tech. It is past time as you know from your experience for our institutions starting with the heritage foundation to recognize that big tech is the enemy of the state to name them as such and to develop policy reforms as a result. We have the definitive set of solutions coming out in the next days that will describe that. And thirdly, China. I like you understand the threat that the Soviet Union was to freedom to Americans to people around the world. I'm a son of the 1980s. We have failed as a country to recognize and to name China as the same kind of enemy that the today that the Soviet Union was then inherited is going to be leading

"Comments yesterday the deputy director of policy research office said the U.S. doesn't represent a real democracy Meanwhile Beijing has signaled on the policy front well it may cut the reserve requirement ratio out an appropriate time that the Chinese Premier Li did not put a timetable to Oliver catalog head of fixed income and global portfolios at mashup capital my guess this morning Triple-o are caught It's very different policy stance from what you're hearing from the fed and what you're hearing from the or BA Music to your ears if there was a triple or cut without a ¥1 trillion of liquidity Definitely musical Al is because we're invested in China via China equity ETFs and also by individual bomb positions So but look it's different to what the west is doing but then again China came out of COVID quicker Yeah And they've kind of had to have policy adjustments because there are different stage of the market cycle now But it's what the property sector needs and being invested in the property sector We definitely welcome it So I know that you're a bond man through and through We've got the country Gordon equity I mean there's a lot of volatility every week There's a movie nuance in terms of evergrande and the investment grade and the high yield space in terms of the developers Why are you so committed to the Bond side of the property developers We're committed to the bond size I think the safer part of the capital structure compared to equity And then within the bond site we still prefer investment grade over high yield right now in the property sector because they tend to have names have stronger liquidity and lower leverage structures country garden like you mentioned We are a little bit surprised that the evergreen saga bled through from high yield into investment grade because you've had some quite sharp drops in the investment grade property bond prices in recent weeks But the situation seems to have been stabilizing now So what did we all get wrong with ever ground I think because if you're saying I'm surprised if you have a grand story bled through to IG but that's called that's called being stressed and nervous of the unknown and not having enough information and missing key payment dates I think one of the things is that the off balance sheet debt I don't know if these companies I said don't know I think the companies will not as transparent as they could have been with their balance sheets I think that's something that we've learned a lesson from And again that's why we kept shying away from some of the high yield names I think that's one of the things And just generally over leveraged if you've got too much leverage in the system not only the companies leverage in a system by the way a lot of investors in these Chinese bonds will leverage themselves So I think that's exacerbated some of the price falls that you've seen in some of the China property bonds When you see dislocations in markets that we had last week how do you look at credit market Let's say in the U.S. and credit in Europe Did you look for opportunities there How do you read the read across Yeah Because we're aiming if we see a dissipation in the U.S. we're looking for where we can execute that dislocation within a.m. So yeah we still like high yield We're invested in high yield by the way even here in the Middle East But we've had more exposure to investment grade And like I said the long end So that's why we enjoyed last week Duration hunters Exactly But we will be taking profit now I think it's a good time to take some chips off the table And redeploy us where Okay All right thank you so much for being with us Oliver cadwell had a fixed income and global portfolios at mass rate capital I guess this morning on markets.

"Is Senator Cruz told the attorney general you should be prosecuted Yeah I have to laugh at that I should be prosecuted What happened on January 6th senator Do you think this song right there for a second Thank you rich First of all let's break that down His creepy laugh like a Batman villain aside First of all what the question of course is here you have a United States senator who is bringing up the fact that Anthony Fauci a member of the executive branch might have lied before Congress might have perjured himself before Congress Might have in fact totally American people Why So here's the legislative branch doing its constitutional job of being a check on the executive branch of government And instead of her following up and go well senator that's you know we're not talking about January 6th here We're talking about you and possibly now the accusation is that you lie to Congress about gain of function research You lied about the lab leak You lied about these things That's what they're arguing How do you want to respond to that No don't give me a giggle I'm gonna be a giggle like you've just tied up Robin and you're waiting for Batman to rescue him Answer the question This is their job Their job is to check the executive branch of government So what do you have to say to that Doctor Fauci But again Margaret brand is on his side He's the victim here right He's the victim And even though it's very very likely that Fauci did lie to Congress on multiple occasions about gain of function research which led to the virus in China being in that lab and maybe we could have very early on intervened in this whole thing She's willing to let that go because Fauci's a hero of the left And she is CBS So obviously you got to give the guy a pass

It became a battleground of these two superpowers. So a union on the one hand and the United States. The United States support for Pakistan was because Pakistan was the conduit for its emerging relationship with People's Republic of China. Because prior to that, the United States and China didn't have any relationship. So Pakistan became the mediator because then became the conduit. Get to Know Os Guinness, Author of 'The Magna Carta of Humanity'

"Who is us? Where has he where was he born and what has he been doing most of his life? Well, I'm the great great, great grandson of Arthur Guinness, the original brewer, and very proud of our family heritage and the integrity and generosity of the firm down the centuries. My own branch of the family, my grandfather, was one of the first western doctors in China, actually he survived the box arrives, and he went into the Forbidden City and treated the Empress dowager and the last emperor in the early part of the 20th century. My parents were born in China, and importantly for this book, I was a 7 year old in the Chinese revolution. So I remember the day. You have memory? You have memories? Absolutely. And it's important to this book because I remember the day when my dad said to me son, we're in trouble. Chiang Kai-shek has abandoned the city. We were in the capital, and the Red Army's coming in. And I remember the reign of terror began, and I was there for two years under that, and my parents were kept another two years on the house arrest. But the important was many years later I was at Oxford, and the graduate student, and had general one night with Isaiah Berlin. In other great places of freedom, Jewish. And we discovered he'd been a 7 year old in the Russian Revolution. And I was a 7 year old in the Chinese revolution the two big communist ones of the last century, so he compared notes thank God the English speaking people who stood up against totalitarianism, but in the mid 70s, when I was with him, it would have been unthinkable. That America would be tempted by anything like a radical socialism, let alone a cultural Marxism. And yet, that's where we are

Newt Gingrich Offers Advice to Next Republican Administration Against China, Big Tech

"So the next administration, the GOP writ large when it comes to the external threat of China and the internal threat of big tech, what would you say to president Trump? Well, I'd say, first of all, the text is easier of the two. Simply make them comment carriers and make it a ability to sue for triple damages. And you'll overnight see them change their behavior. But that's going to be a big fight, but there's no there's no excuse when you have a system like Twitter, which knocks off a person who got 73 million votes. Knocks off the oldest and fourth largest newspaper in America, the New York Post founded by Alexander Hamilton. But allows the Taliban spokesperson to stay on. You know the system is just plain sick. So I think we need to have I don't want government involved, but I think we need to create an opportunity for individuals and companies to protect themselves in court. And if you could sue for triple damages, I mean, the New York Post alone would have gotten a huge amount of money out of the way they were treated in

What's Actually in the House-Passed Build Back Better Bill?

"So what is in this bill? This is according to breitbart dot com. They do a wonderful job. House passes behemoth build back better act. Funds, Biden's banking surveillance apparatus, the bill would spend $500 million to hire new Department of Justice tax division surveillance agents to bring civil and criminal cases against Americans if we're not rating enough homes right now. It removes any prohibition regarding Uyghur Muslims in China, Democrats have removed the provision of the previous draft that would have prohibited any funding, provided by title and science spacer technology award a contract subcontract grant or loan to an entity involved with using the forced labor of Uighur Muslims. How about tax pork for trial lawyers? This provision modifies current law expensing rules to allow plaintiff's attorneys to deduct out of pocket litigation costs in the year they are incurred. How about number 6? This is a fun one. The build back better act would add language, creating a tax credit for wages paid to journalists. That's what we need. We need more New York Times reporters. The bill would add $500 million. $500 million. That's the annual operating budget of Pittsburgh every single year to give you an idea. The whole city. For schools of medicine, prioritizing funding, based on racial demographics, and requiring faculty to be hired and students be recruited based on prioritizing racial and demographic characteristics. How about left wing divisive race baiting? This bill with add back language that continues the race baiting attempts. As Americans is oppressive claiming all minorities are denied a full opportunity to participate in the American way of life that's a direct quote out of the bill. That all minorities are denied a full opportunity from participating in American life. There's $2.5 billion for tree equity. It'd be a $2.5 billion slush fund that would send taxpayer dollars to radical environmental groups to plant trees and advance tree equity. "The connectivity equal mortar. I would water so Another patriot on subscriber. Dominic leeson asks. Do you feel you have a particular affinity with the chinese culture and if so what in particular and where do you think that stems from. Dominic is my oldest friend. We grew up together in north west. London now lives in chester. And i haven't seen him since. I was eleven. Wow look at that point of. Yeah exactly. We reconnected on social media. A few years ago and randomly he joined the group. And it has been the point of connectivity with us again. And he's he is the ultimate person i want to attract. He has no connection with china. No connection at all. But there's just that curiosity and he stuck around so you dominic. Your question is an interesting one. The answer is no in fact. I would say i was scared of chinese culture at the beginning and so no. It's not a natural affinity. It's one that. I have grown to love and i guess that speaks to. I'm doing this. Maybe i haven't thought about it this way but it's like i can put myself into the situation of someone who doesn't necessarily have indeed to china and can make a bit more comfortable for them to actually engage with chinese culture But i think what dominance question is trying to get at is actually what vladimir failure vic is asking quite directly so vladimir asks. I'd be interested to hear how you decided to live in china. Long-term was it spontaneous or gradual. And well-planned Fishbowl who's vladimir. I don't know vladimir. So i mean i'm glad you asked because at the beginning of this project and probably you can relate to this as well. You're very needy in terms of just give me some support here and now in season two big differences that i am less needy about that so i have many friends who have never heard an episode of the gossip many family members. And that's fine. I really appreciate people like ladder. Who have just heard about it. They've said that they enjoy it. And they then make the conversion to becoming a patron supporter. and that's great wonderful so answering question Now it wasn't well planned in fact. None of my career moves have been well planned. God this is going to sound terrible. But i moved to china for love. It wasn't financial. Because i got taxed a lot when i came to china but that was the reason i came. And it's the reason i'm still here. Actually oh dear. That's why i'm here to right. You know. I'm okay with that. Because i like being here. Yeah but it seems actually quite fitting that. You came here because of another connection. You've done it. You have managed to find a way to end this interview. Thank you so much for coming over. I really appreciate you. Rebecca thank you so much for listening and for being you. Oh it's really lovely to just have a conversation with you. And i'm a huge fan. I'll send thank you to peter. Dominick and vladimir for submitting those questions. Sorry that i didn't prepare better answers i. Purposefully didn't think about them until the interview and wealth. You heard the results. But i was inspired by my conversation with rebecca and this new concept of mortar. This idea of listeners. Being the connective cement without which the tiles of the mosaic simply wouldn't stick is something that i will definitely be incorporating into the future of the show so if you're subscriber on patriots or the equivalent in china i again then you can expect to be more involved in the run up to three of the show which i'll start working on later in the year. I'll post previews there of who i'm about to interview so that you can submit questions to the guests directly and also try to do more at the time of release so a big. Thank you rebecca for helping to come up with that idea joining our chat but back to season two. We still have fifteen more episodes coming your way. I'm really looking forward to sharing them with you. But i'm actually going to take another couple of weeks of the weather is getting warmer in china. So i've decided to do some travel before coming back to you. With the second. Half of the season so please catch up with any of the episodes. You may have missed. And i'll see you again in may..

"Really interesting. Yeah exactly. It's like a merit to reflect what they're thinking about their own society. I think i use not interesting is a pinata for you to achieve political religious philosophy tournament. What so ever grow. Donald trump is the best. It's simple he is creating a lot of very story. I say it's not perfect but is not that perfect. What users said. Yeah yeah. I mean it's fascinating and i'm looking at your watch the object that you brought and i can see a kind of progression from being in the army in taiwan than studying then becoming professor was always meant to be like. You had always been a professor in waiting. No i am black. Sheep was never to student since day. One i was extremely successful in my college life. I was at a bar and involving low code union and fashions and probably danes. That sort of different things that you say gangs. Yeah yeah so wait. Let's go to the gangs element them because this is where. I think you have an interesting background now for somebody who is a professor today. I think i understand the tonys underworld quite a law. Oh you do. I do yeah. It's peers that it's always involving a lot of literal lot of pretty woman and a lot of drunken guys and cash. I can see how that would have given you some of the skills that you use now us. Probably the same how i deal with. My vice-chancellors improvised shows are definitely a powerful guys are old saying gene. Thank you so much. Okay okay well. Let's move onto part too great. Are you ready. i'll try my best. Okay what is your favorite china related fact compared to the size of continental europe the variety in china has. Because i know it is diverse. But it's one point. Four and the style is as bid on on europe so it should be diverse but the truth is not. Yeah okay well. That should raise some questions. Because i think some people would argue with that. Definitely please question to do. You have a favorite word or phrase in chinese. Yeah especially mainland chinese. There are a lot of terms that we don't use that in tyler. Gay lee to diff- power and e is over heart. And the first time i heard i simply don't understand but it's so vivid. Okay let's unpick that. What does it actually mean that in. What context straw daily about the homeward batter. For god's sake gay lee. How right so is it. Like a is it. And but it's more Rough okay. i'm quite rough person. And then growing so. I understand that separate. He's a gore is to too much and then you is like hard hard and stiff right so it's too stiff to support. It means really really high standard. Okay so give me an example. Shusha lead on your at a damage. Achievement should be worrying. How funny what is your favorite within china. I would say okay. It's votaw small poyton. there's no real shanghainese right. there were from ningpo and soochow so the shawnise is actually the initial nimble niece and pseudo niece and then all the foreign influence on top. Yeah and actually. Sean talked to a lot of languages. Light law color. It means a gentleman who knows how to enjoy his party. Boudreau live color means white called a call. How funny yeah. And when we show lingerie show. Little laws zeming's disciplined woman. But anyway now is la's airfare over how funny so is from french. I guess because it is a city of immigrants like everyone here claim that i am a real low shahani's no okay next question if you left mainland china. What would you miss the most. And what would you miss. The least i would miss the culture There's a extra thing you see. I'm quite westernized. The way i think the wind starts whatsoever but I still lie to live. This sort of culture contacts would amies the bureaucracy. The bureaucracy of china is interesting to be extremely efficient. Extremely outdated as slow. Yeah at the same time Is there anything that still surprises. You about life in mainland china or ya definitely let me put this way using university education. We know that For the past twenty years. Chinese universities are forcing University lecturers and were traced to publish editor damage papers or journal articles. When we evaluate our colleagues. They still use honey papers. You have novelist yeah. Yes so it. Engenders a society which follows the kpi's yeah because china is shite dented. So it's understandable when we need to manage this country and this stealth people or universities through a very contemplative way. But i am a person who is in charge of evaluate in people's tell. It's day i have to shoot foreign talents. I don't believe in quantitative standards because it's impossible. Where's your favorite place to go out to eat or drink or just hang out. I still light my party. Bolger french session nightlife the bossed trough as the western restaurants are the best in china does not comparison. And do you have one particular place that jumps out. There's a great spanish sing Pie wrote there. Have a great jinyan. Tonnage selection the best okay. I'm going to mysteriously say yes. I have been to that. Spanish place on pan eu lou and i will also not name it. What is the best.

"Lexi. Hello here you are. I can't believe you're sitting in front of me. i now i made it back. Well what the hell was your coronavirus story. It was pretty wild. I left for christmas for an extended kind of time back in the states with my parents and my sister actually and then corona and i've been out of china since then which is insane. I got back to the half three weeks ago. Now i did the two weeks in quarantine i think you in this wave. That has come back since september but it hasn't been immediate right. No a lot of people gave up. I think people were like okay. I guess this is a good time. Just to move yeah. It was very mentally taxing to just have the uncertainty of the flight situation. The rules were changing constantly constant anxiety. What about your dog. that's the main thing. Yeah so. I am very lucky that i have great friends and a handful of people took care of him for the bulk of the time. Really like ten out of the eleven months was my friend pay. Who did an incredible job with little. Mario and mariana will go see him every week just to make sure that patriots is mario time because they really bonded. It was really cute. What was it like to meet him coming back incredible and he was so excited and it was honestly one of the happiest moments of my life and then the business so strictly cookies. Yeah it continued with you gone. I have an amazing team and they all really stepped up and credit to them. They just they nailed it but what it does say to me is. This is a litmus test for you to show that. Actually you don't have to be here. You actually could be overseas and life would go on with the company. There was that kind of liberating at the same time it was. It was funny. Because i actually did better work when i was away and i don't think it was because i was like so nervous that everything was gonna fall apart. I think it was it allowed for a nice separation that gave good perspective on things and as crazy as it was to be living with my family for six months. It was really nice. Having lived abroad for ten years. it felt incredibly special. I think that's going to be a bit of a theme to these. Catch up interviews that i do with people who have come back and then now you must be seeing. Shanghai with new is almost absolutely so a year and a half ago a year ago event. I was very much like. I need a plan. I need to know where. I'm going to be in the next month now. I'm a lot better with uncertainty and just kind of going with it and just letting things. Unfold really honestly. It's a massive massive. Change for me. But i do think it was a good life lesson. Just you don't have a lot of control and you just have to make the best of it. yes absolutely. i'm noting fervently. Because i just know that anyone who was more a control freak now has to be less than gosh. You really see it. After the first two months. I was like okay. I guess i really have no control or anything anymore and the things that you said that you would miss. If you left china you said you would miss the most was gen being and yeah you would miss. The least was the construction noise. Yup that still holds when i got. Yeah when i got in. That was the first thing. That was the first thing i ate. I woke up early left quarantine and got thing that was number one number one for sure. I loved john. Bang and of course we are going to be releasing this update at the same time as the episode of jamie barry who you recommended to. Yes so have you been in touch with jamie very close. Yes so. I saw her the other day. She just had a baby yes she did honestly seeing her seeing my friends i still haven't see i mean i really just got out of quarantine a week ago and yeah really fresh out I really wanna go to cage is my friend. I have a friend dalton. I haven't seen him yet. And i i feel like he'd be down. Maybe i'll just send him this podcast and say wait till the end inviting you cages..

"Well tell me. Where do i find do you now. So you find me. Now in tokyo new role. I'm now responsible for all of asia for laurie. How research and innovation based here in tokyo and you moved to japan shortly after our recording. So you've been there now for over a year by now right. Yes that's right and so what has been your story Well I think Been fortunate that Everyone has been healthy from a family standpoint and from From a work standpoint you know a lot of the things that make tokyo magical. You know involve the after work. I going for dinner having a beer. All of those little is a little small places are not always the places where you should go in terms of covid safety either very closed before talking without the mass or drinking whatever. So if you haven't been able to experience all of That japan has to offer in that context and also some restrictions about travel that i couldn't leave and return so that left me not being able to see my family and my family still can't come in so that's a little disheartening but i'm hopeful that Not too long in the future. We'll be able to get through that good and you and i still communicate but are you now doing other things. Are you online for example. I have line and what's up but it's like going back to the nineteen twenties It's just it's so backwards. I tell the only thing. I really us we chat and then when i have to communicate with somebody on some other social network i use that. So that's still to me is the gold standard and the other ones are of far away away. Well look thank you sanford. It's very nice to have this excuse to catch up with you And for you to continue being of the mosaic family. let's definitely keep in touch great oscar. "Hello this is. Oscar kooks and welcome to season two of the mosaic of china. Podcast just like season one over the next thirty episodes. We'll be hearing from a diverse group of thirty people who are making their mark in china. I don't want to ruin any surprises. So let me just say that. There are some great stories from both chinese and non-chinese guests on way over the coming weeks if you're a new listener. Welcome and here's a quick recap of how the show works. There are three parts to each interview. The first part is a straightforward two way conversation which starts with the guest introducing object. That in some way describes their life in china. In the second part. I ask every guest. The same ten china related questions all on the theme of their personal experiences tastes and opinions and the final part is just one extra question where i ask each guest to nominate someone for the next season of mosaic of china. And this is how the tiles up. This mosaic will connect and continue to build out in future seasons. There are also a few things that anew in season two one of them being that this is the first time that we can link new guests back to the people who nominated them from the previous season of the show. So you'll hear how that works in the first episode coming next week. Secondly they'll be transcripts available now on mosaic of china dot com slash transcripts. These have been designed for anyone. Whose first language isn't or of course for listeners. With hearing impairments offer any english speakers who want to follow the words spoken in chinese. Thirdly if you'd like to join the community and track all the images alongside each episode on which at i finally able to rename the we chat account to mosaic of china. Or one word. So please at me from now on and i'll add you to. That's consistent with the mosaic of china accounts that already exists on instagram and facebook if you would still prefer to follow them and finally the biggest difference. The season two is that they will now be two versions of the show. The normal version will be exactly the same as last season. But i'm also releasing an extended version of the show where they will be an average of ten to twenty minutes of extra content for every episode. These will accumulate to up to ten hours of extra content over the course of the entire season and they can be accessed for the tiny cost of to. Us dollars per month at patriot dot com slash mosaic of china. That's p. r. e. n. dot com slash mazeikiu china. All one word. This is the way. I came up with to keep the show free from advertising to still allow you to listen to the series for free one at the same time create a way to accept donations towards the cost of putting this altogether. So if you have anything to spare and you want to help found this independent project as an early. Christmas present please head over to patriot dot com slash mosaic of china. And you can look forward to getting some great extra content to thanks to all of you for your continued support. And i hope to see you back here next week for episode one of the season..

"Sabrina Chen the dawn program curator from episode 26 Well, if you put me into the National Place, I was enjoying it, but maybe I will not actively choose to go. Maybe it's because I grown up in Shanghai. I've seen too many of that for me. I feel like a little bit fed up with this. Yeah, so that that's why I like to go to the place more cosy maybe the supermarket off, you know so much it's magic. So when you order Seafood actually they will put it in a bag and they were handled back on the track. So it's like an automatic system. You can receive your goods. It's really funny. Stephen Demond, the events Company CEO from episode 19 I'd like to give a shout out to shake shake is by far my favorite live music venue in Asia. They on Marmion roads beautiful place for dinner drinks and some dancing and trust me. I've been to quite a lot. So go to shake fantastic. And again my favorite all over Asia off for an advance and the Mantra compliance leader from episode 15. So the best place to hang it on is always the one and once you go home and take a walk in the evening. I think you really can't stop it my ring the other side how it has been created and the phenomenal fact is that it has been done in the past twenty years. Sanford-Brown the biochemist from episode 29 So there's some downsides to to the pace of change that happens. So I would say a lot of the favorite places that I had no longer exists my favorite bouncer shop. My favorite game show up some older streets that I would love to work in that really felt like you were an older China. Unfortunately. Those are really exist anymore in Shanghai I used to do when people came in dead Shanghai for the first time. I used to take my side car and go out to the countryside where you see farmers and everything and then take them down to the Bund and you saw that all within one day and so it was complete contrast of that. So that's a that's a little bit there. So there but then flip side you always have new Fantastic places the new restaurant that I like is a higher wage in the Edition Hotel. Cuz what I like about is a food's very good there the qualities there but the view so they have a bar upstairs and you have a rooftop and of course, yep. Has lots of rooftop bars, but what was interesting I like this one. It's a different View at least what I had seen before cuz you're further back and you have a different perspective on the city that I had never seen before even though I've seen it a million times and honestly, I think Shanghai is the most beautiful city at night in the world. Philippe gas the Disney Resorts CEO from episode one. I recently discovered a very good Cantonese restaurant in a hotel called Edition hotel is right off the band. It's called Kent and disco. If you have not been there recommend you try it. It's great food truck environments. I love this place. I have many Hangouts places where I go to live in the center. So some Mexican food that I love enjoy and many of my friends who like to hang out there. But this one I recommend to try Architectural the fashion designer from episode 13 the best restaurant. I really like is is called high lie, which is on the 6th floor of Escalade and best drinks is sober company, which is the 50 best bar in Asia and it's open by a Japanese poem Eric olander the journalists from episode 3 The Perfect answer for this and the cliche answer would be some Corner dive in the French concession that serves the best dumplings that you've ever heard of Faith. Nobody else knows in their secret spot that the only this one Foreigner seems to know I won't give you that answer because to be honest with you, you know eating Eastern Chinese food. So that is Shanghai Chinese food actual not my favorite. I gotta be honest with you. It's greasy. It's there's I don't like the MSG and it's very salty. I prefer like Southern Chinese food Hunan. So I actually like the French bistros in the western food here in the French Canadian. And I don't have a particular favorite. I mean do. Listen. I'm a big walk as fan. That's not a I mean that's a very kind of Main Street pedestrian answer but they do a good thing to a good service. You know what I'm going to say, but I don't actually have a favorite dive or corner or hole in the wall in Shanghai. It's Anthea Taylor the pain expert from episode 28. So my favorite place is a cafe. It's on a loop. It's called on air and it's sort of in the tucked away in the back of a long Lane, but you won't know it's there you have to you know, someone told has to take you Lexie Comstock the cookie supplier from episode 28, my friend Adam had this amazing apartment right on the corner of fishing and Lucci and he made a New Year's resolution one year to throw a theme party every month and he just nailed it and thought was super open like, you know, you could bring anyone and there were various themes like, you know, Chinese New Year 80s prom all the stuff and people would dress up and so that was like, you know party side that was really fun to go out and but also offer a great balcony so, you know kind of Sunday afternoons lounging on the Belt that was pretty ideal GT Chang the translated from episode 24 Wow might go to restaurants if friends come to town in Shanghai would be spicy moment on William Louis a Hunan Restaurant. I particularly like it because it's very difficult to get good Cantonese food here good in the sense that Cantonese food is not just about ingredients or taste flavorings, but you have took everything on a very very very Hot Wok. And that is this particular taste like you can't really describe it is not like a flavor salty or sweet. But if I something on a very Hot Wok, it tastes different from the non Hot Wok. And is it also a walk that's been tried before and has some residual taste from a no. No. No, it is not like a flash either type taste but that is something it's like cooking something on wood on cold or on gas or on electric. They taste different and I love that restaurant because wage Even though Kahuna food tastes very different from Cantonese food, but that taste of fire is in it. And with that we've reached the end of another compilation and I love that last comment. I've been going to that restaurant that GG mentioned and she's totally right about the taste of fire. Next week will be the final cancellation. It's all about favorite words and phrases in Mandarin. Definitely a fun and useful one and this time not just for fans of Shanghai. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you, too. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Again. Thank you so much. Thank you. My pleasure to thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much, and thank you for having me. Awesome. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks for having me. Thank you for helping me. Thank you so much for having me. Thank you for having me now. "Michael V. The Instagram influencer from episode 7. I will one of my new favorites is Heritage by Madison, which is a lovely new restaurant down at the bulb Financial Center. Next lovely Thomas heatherwick building that moves and it's excellent. You know, it's a western casual fine dining with lots of Chinese influences would be nice wine list really inexpensive stunning setting world-class service nailed it yummy the broadcaster from episode 21 I think usually a friend will recommend some restaurant or coffee shop and they were bring me there and at that time I will give a score. So this restaurant is good, but it doesn't means I will come back or it doesn't mean it is my favorite because I think if you if seen the places is is your favorite. You will go through all the times right? So if you have to say the places, I usually go a small noodle restaurants near my house. I work go there every day, but this is my home. I don't think so. Maplesville the comedian from Episode II. Okay. There was a Japanese restaurant. I really really like because the design is from Japan there. He's very good. So you sitting there you look at the window you can see the area you are in you can see the lobby you can see the outside of view. It's like you starting from here one part. You can just see the word you're connecting. It's so beautiful and peaceful Life by trying to restaurant Emily match the aquarium conservationists from episode 14. Oh, where's my favorite place? I tend to be lazy with it really kind of funky Delhi area just cuz it's five minutes walk from home. There's always people there. I love Hot Pot. So any any good Hot Pot restaurant The Spicy one is the best. Yeah. I love that. So yeah I float around. Mgu the jewelry Craftsman from episode 18. I really like Malabar because of the Spanish environment. The food is really good and it's not over price range really good portion. It's not like really tiny Tapas. So I would take you the next I Astrid focus on the violinist from episode four, I think one of my favorite places for food is citron citizen restaurant down and it's been I think the first Chinese restaurant I've ever even tried and Shanghai because back then they used to be a toll road and Shanghai Conservatory of Music was beside and I've been going there since like ten years old ready and the people they have been over ten years and I spend like five to six my birthday is there with them so it's just very very stupid like first place to go and take my friends whoever is visiting here. Noah Sheldon the documentary filmmaker from episode 9 there's a restaurant. I love the name in Chinese English name is in and out. It's a horrible position. No, no in and out. It's a you Nam restaurant. Oh, right. It's in who Bendel but it's so excellent. It's no it's on the third floor. You know it exactly I think the food there is so great, but don't have a lot of alcohol. So that's that's kind of a problem Sebastian is the inclusion wage it from episode 11. All right, so it's going to sound are it's in the it's a restaurant in the Florencia Village. So for entire Village is an outlet close to the airport. So that's not so fancy nor glamour. Let's put it that way but they have a very good restaurant. Very good Italian restaurant called Bella Vita. We know the Chef Stephan. I personally am and it's a little bit like every week every Sunday we go back to Italy nothing fancy. Nothing Fusion just traditional Italian cuisine where you can find a little bit of home and you know spend good family time and that's because your wife is Italian, right? Yeah. Viva the fitness Community leader from episode 8 Blackbird actually. Oh, yeah, so and I only just recently discovered Columbus Circle actually, but the you know, it's like the perfect mix of everything you've got great food on the lower floor. You've got great cocktails in the middle and then you've got this gorgeous terrorists where they, you know, they play movies and everything, but you know, it's a shame that it's probably not a Columbia Circle hasn't actually taken off as yet but yet but I'm really like in black bird. Nene some the artist from episode 16 actually my friend's studio. So I have several authors friends. They all have studios around off my Studios area. On tongue and I go in there see what they're making recently and also sometimes invite people here to my studio having a beer right? That's funny. I never really far away from art. Even when you're hanging out you're hanging out around like it's terrible. What's Coleman the theater producer from episode 22 off. I think one of my favorite venues in the entire world. Nevermind Shanghai has to be all on Jiang bellew. I think if guys has done there is absolutely astounding the sound system is unparalleled whenever I get there. It's the same story every time I'm like do this put your bags and coats here. Let's get drink right now, Now we're going to do a dance and then I'm like a four-year-old. like listen. Can you hear me talking? You can hear talking but you can feel the bass right? You can hear me talking but you can feel her face is like my friends laugh at me cuz they're like, I know we've done this before you've literally show me five times. I can't believe how good the sound isn't here and what I love is that any new music that's happening in their people will say oh but I don't think I like trap music. I don't like footwork. I don't think into industrial techno, but they go in there. They're here that as soon you in front of DJ your dancing straight away because always high quality programming. Generally The Invention Company CEO from episode six. IBM is shopping mall facing in downtown Shanghai. I think from the third fourth floor. There's a certain different bars or a coffee shop has terrorists and then also they has like supermarket and movie theaters. So I just like to put myself in somewhere else in the crowd, but still a little bit quiet and has multi-function. Abe de the tour manager from episode 27 probably R&B just cuz that's you know, where a lot of my friends go. It's a record shop right slash bottle shop. So, I guess just worked out with R&B stands for yeah,.

"Felipa gas. The Disney Resorts CEO from episode one the best purchaser made these like little more than a year ago. I bought a scooter and Neil scooter. I don't want to make advertisement but this is amazingly wonderful. It changed my life in Shanghai on weekends and the freedom that you have time to get on it and just you know, go around the French concession to explore the place. I've been biking a lot before that. This is just great and I love my little bite. I'm going to miss it when I leave. View the fitness Community leader from episode 8 probably my most expensive and best is probably my scooter. Actually, I you know, I can't I can't Shanghai without it. Emily match the aquarium conservationists from episode 14. So I'm addicted to taobao. You're not the first person who said that but the best purchase is definitely my situation. I love my scooter worst purchase probably some fake red wine. I bought from a shop once clearly in the wrong bottle wage. Really. Oh really? That's interesting. So it does happen cuz I hear that has a kind of apocryphal tale. It definitely happens. You're right Maples long median from episode 200. I bought the worst one I bought is a printer cuz I thought I'm going to write more more in a printed out by doing use off. So it's just over I want to cook but I do show the same impassive buying always do that should stop it. Simon manetti the business leader from episode 17 m m apart from the lamp. That's the best my bicycle. Yeah, Greg Nance the ultra-marathon athlete from episode 23 the let me go to the worst cuz this is more top of mind my first trip to China Beijing into his nine and I got a wonderful Mal watch and it's like, you know, the chairman Mao with his two hands his two arms is like the second minute clock and I haggled it down to something like twenty R&B which was pretty good deal cuz it started out like two hundred and by the time I had gotten on the airplane to fly home some eight hours later the watch it stopped working and I was like, oh my gosh total swindling hair my sister still love the gift. So it may not have actually been the worst but that comes to mind for sure make you the playwright from episode 13 dead. I think is that is one piece. I think I forget is that is almost ten years ago in Hong Kong. I bought one teacher that has so comfortable. So I every day almost I would change this one and as usual as one and this one be back in the second day. Sabrina join the dance program curator from episode 26. I've been mostly we only purchase Goods on. How about now? However, I moved to new place. Hey, I have to find out what I need for the new place. It's better to see it in person. And I found this place it's need 30 and it's Japanese style song and convenient. I bought plays pots the slippers. Yeah. Stefan Des Moines, the events Company CEO from episode nineteen. I couldn't really think about anything when when you asked me that question simply because I think I'm a young person so you could have asked me okay with the best and the worst relationships that you formed here, but can't really comment on objects cuz it's not really who I am. Okay, I guess we'll take that as a known for this time. As long as the worst person you've met is not me. Thanks for downloading. I hope you've been enjoying these extra shows. As always. I've posted some photos to illustrate some of these answers. So please check out Mosaic of China on in Iraq or Facebook or to join a WeChat listeners group PLS add me there on my ID Oscar 10877 in case you didn't listen to the wrap-up episode at the end of season one reason. I thought to put these compilations together in the first place was to kill time before the start of season to the idea being to allow guests to get back to their normal routines in China before we met up for our chat Bots. Well, the idea is half working. I recorded four episodes of the new season so far and I have more on their way, but I had hoped that by now there might have been a chance for the borders to reopen thought some of the guests who are stuck overseas might be able to return home to China. It doesn't look like that's going to happen. So now we're already into the second half of these compilations. I need to actually start my job. Some decisions. Hopefully I will have made some of those by the time we're back for the next compilation episode in two weeks, which will be on the topic of China news sources. So I'll see you then, Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you, too. you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Again. Thank you so much. Thank you. My pleasure to thank you very much. "Welcome to Mosaic of China a podcast about people who are making their Mark in China. I'm your host Oscar Felix. We're halfway through these ten special compilation episodes from the guests of season one of the show and I hope that by now you've gotten used to all of their voices. With any luck, you might have also been persuaded to go back and take a listen to some of the episodes that you may have missed before. If not, let me try yet again to convince you the theme of today's episode is worse and worst purchases that have been made in China. I could say that these arms has paint a picture of China's shopping culture and specifically it's Unique e-commerce ecosystem. But actually I think it's more about just being nosy about what stuff people have got Michael Z the Instagram influencer from episode 7. Best purchase is a beautiful chair from taobao and Tower is amazing online platform. For those of you who don't know Chinese e-commerce. You have a direct link with a factory or the vendor or the individual selling. It doesn't come from like Amazon as such so you can have this conversation with someone. I want to buy sofa. But you can just click the color you want. They send you the Swatch and can have this long conversation. I actually can I have a 10 centimeters longer. Can I have a little bit deeper? Can I have it in blue? And also can I have it this Fabric and so you can really have this conversation and we had this chair made which is admittedly a knock off of Faneuil is a very famous Scandinavia designer and the original chair something like ten thousand to fourteen thousand Euros and we had a knockoff commissioned in baby pink beautiful soft everything leather for five hundred pounds. Octo Joan the fashion designer from episode 13 is Turbo, right? But what about the actual thing you bought like do you remember it? Was there a really good thing or a really bad choice? You can from anything in there. Even you applying the Visa. I think so Miracle because you want to apply visa like them or something where you can just send your passport copy and then they sent you a real actual paper directly to your home. Wow. Astrid poke on the violinist from episode for the best purchase I've ever made so far it's I don't know whether you have seen is like off automatic wine bottle opener machine. Do you have seen that they have that I think I've so in China and it surprises me so much and after every time I just like just look so cool. I just put in and show it was Coleman the theater producer from episode 22. I think the best revelation of God how to purchase things has been the fabric market and we have this thing in the company with all the performers which is fabric market finery. And if you're having a house party or this month's rent four people, then you might say where your best fabric Market finery as if the event itself was somehow Black Tie, so I went and got a dress made and it's bright orange and it took Just soaked and it's down to the floor and it's a copy of address that obj gave me and it's like the size of a parachute and it's impossible to ride a bike in and I love it. It's unfair Taylor the paint expert from episode 28. The luxury of the fabric markets means I get to go and have awful things made on impulse. I mean when when you go and you just when go you look at something on a model or you look at a picture and you think wow, I can have that made in my size. You really appreciate why fashion and fashion model a certain size and shapes because wow when you get the proportions different like goodness, that wasn't good. It's so funny. I went through a phase where used to get a lot of things Taylor dead and a lot of mistakes happened and now I've gone back to buying off-the-rack a lot more because in you know what you're getting and you know what the patterns will look like on your body, etc. Etc. I find if found one thing that fits somewhere else I bring it back and then I get it made exactly the same right in 10 different colors. Right? Right. So that's my hack around that dead. Sanford-Brown the biochemist from episode 29 probably worse purchase I made is you know, cuz China you can get some custom made things right off relatively inexpensive and I got a pair of custom-made shoes and it was like cartoon. They were more than four or five sizes too small. There was literally I could not put half my foot in and we had arguments that they made them and I had to pay for them and they were fine and there was like fine for whom because it's like it actually has to be able to fit in my phone. AB deya the tour manager from episode 27 one of the best purchases. They guess was custom-made bed. We had put in a apartment or our old apartment the one below yours that would probably be one of the best purchases mainly because we got a design it and it served us very very well Found You The Jewelry Craftsman from episode 18. I have to say the best. It's amazing. You know, how humid is Shanghai right so I bought this Michelle Discovery. The accident on table. It's actually a Broward the connect to a blanket like a double layer blanket with holes on it. So will you bro for 1 hour? You put this prank it between your your bed and your mattress off your to bed and four if you pray for one hour you eliminate all the humidity and that's might because I'm allergic to all kind of might so the bed we become off. Feel like a try so the comforter so I've been using the for last eight years. It's really cool. Every once you had that in Shanghai off Sebastian s the inclusion Advocate from episode 11. The best purchase is actually a xiaomi vacuum robot with it's so heavy. We don't have an ID. So it does a lot of work for us in our big apartment and it's just working. It's really nice. It's clean the house every day. Eric olander the journalist from episode 3 a Roomba. Oh, you've got one. I got one.

"Heard this afternoon, which is at the skin of durians is not considered organic matter. And so when you talk about Shanghai recycling regime that they're introducing and where you put certain items of your household waste if you have a direct pin it is not food waste because of I assume because durians disgusting Yummy the broadcaster from episode 21 in Chinese. We call Joel. I don't know how to translate into English a search on Wikipedia is called Doctrine off the main doctrine of the main. Yes. Yeah, I think it's psychology about baddest the Chinese medicine use his philosophy in Chinese medicine. If you are sick, they didn't try to find a reason behind that just keep your body balance at that time when the body came out and you will feel better off and you the jewelry Craftsman from episode 18. Okay. So the first time I heard this fact, I was fascinated and shocked and Shanghai itself is around 26 million people. The entire Taiwan is no more than three million people and this just blow my mind. Simon manetti the business leader from episode 17. There are more English speakers in China than there are in the United States. It's a good reminder of the diligence and not approach to education here and also reflection of China's scale. 2500 the compliance leader from episode 15 the most interesting fact, I always try to tell every visitor who comes to China you can write your name in Chinese at all. So if I say for example screening there is no way in which you can write screen e in Chinese it is a mathematics. Can you write train in vain lyrics know because you have got nine characters which can represent the entire mathematics and in those nine characters. You can create a combination called a screening and that's the most part for me is and I open it and shutting down my chain is classes. Thank you so much for listening. And please share your own child created facts with me on social media. We are on Mosaic of China on Instagram or Facebook or add me on my WeChat ID Oscar 10877 and I'll add you to the listeners Community wage. Next week, we will be at the halfway point of these compilations and we will also be around the halfway point of twenty-twenty. This has been a tumultuous year. And right now we're still tumultuous times. So I'm going to continue trying to offer some respite and next week's episode will be on perhaps the most frivolous of all topics the best and worst purchases that my guests have made in China. I'll see you then. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you, too. Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you again. Thank you so much. Great. Thank you. "Anything. It's just it's such a fast-moving place and it's incredible like the paste Sanford grounded biochemist from episode 29. Oh, well, I would say if ever I'm at a point where it doesn't surprise me, then I'd be shocked. I think every time you see things again. It relates to the pace of change and change things change so fast how people adopt to the change just you always see these changes I think for me, this is every time when you look on the streets, I'm surprised by something off Maples War the comedian from Episode II, I feel like because China is very big has loads of people and Thursday because we have one big party to ruin the country and once they there is a decision it's goes down so quickly like the technology a li pay and everything how about it's amazed me even though I'm using it off. I feel like can't get rid of my phone and it's saving me so much time. I want everything just like click click you go to England you need to do cash and everything right now. You can just scan everything. It's amazing, but then off Because the technology because we have 5G now, right everything is going so fast. I was wondering all this time you saved. What do you use? You know, that makes me think cuz usually people track, you know days and days to get there and now just click. Okay, but what you're going to do is the time you got there. A lot of people just standing on the train just like going on moments or still small funny videos off to do something more cuz we saving so much other time right Michael Z the Instagram influencer from episode 7. I think that the biggest surprise now is just how much ahead of the Western World China is and this is a something that everyone comes to visit me that they were so shocked they oh old communist China has like better apps better taxi services better all these things and you know, it's so easy just click your fingers and you get something off loreley the private club GM from episode 10 every day. I was surprised by people's Dynamic the.

"Easy to stick your fingers you get something welcome to Mosaic of China a podcast about people who are making their Mark in China. I'm your host Oscar folks home in our third special compilation episode from season one. We listen to how my guests all answered the question. Is there anything that still mystifies or surprises you about life in modern China off and I really enjoyed asking this question because it elicited a kind of wonder in people's responses and that's not just confined to outside as living in China. It applies just as universally to those who have lived decades and of course even with the Chinese themselves, To follow along with the visuals that accompany today's episode. Please go to Mosaic of China on Instagram or Facebook, or you can add me on WeChat my account Oscar 10877 and I'll add you to the listeners group there. I've posted my own surprising addition there which was something that just took place last week. Eric olander the journalists from episode 3 every single day. I mean this place is the complexity of it never ever cease to amaze me and there's this great chart actually that was circulating on social media. It shows aged versus time being here. So the people who have been here for one year all want to write the book on China and not the longer you go here the amount of time you spend here the less you actually know so the X Y axis and it just keeps going down down down down and I am extraordinary humble about what I know and don't know. I have a graduate degree in Chinese foreign policy. I've spent thirty years here. I've been studying Chinese. I think I know a little bit compared to westerners and other Outsiders. And by the way, the Chinese themselves are not very well educated about their own country. A lot of the people who are raised in the cities. Don't know much about the countryside Same by the way in my own country as well. It's too big for any one person. Really grasp. And so I mean nobody can really understand it. There is no such thing in my view as a China expert. Emily manage the aquarium conservationists from episode 14. Oh everything everything mystifies me. I think every day there's something that fascinates me. I still I still can't get my head around any of it, but it's it's fabulous. Simonetta the business leader from episode 17. Everything should mystify about life in China, you know, they're guys are here or like six months to a year and they know everything about China, you know, and then and then you here for like two or three years onwards and suddenly things are confusing Five Years on you got no idea what's going on at any one point in time off. Sebastian the Nez inclusion Advocate from episode 11 almost everyday Travis something that is. Oh I didn't think this would be possible. One of the the latest one was I was running around the city and and I actually found a bike symmetry. You noticed those off sharing bikes. They go somewhere to die. And this place is like five football fields. It's the other side of the sharing economy is what do you do with this? It's also for me pictures a lot of how Innovation goes in China, which is Let's Do It Go for with forward with it then sought to regulate and then eventually effects the issues that are going to happen. Whereas in Europe or Western countries. It's a little bit that's not do it because we have this and that and that reason right so it's more finding reason not to do it here in China it's more going forward. This is why I think the country goes also very fast in that in that area. Tum, pakka the Diplomat from episode 25 everything about life in China surprised me. I spent every day constantly made there isn't at least five things which seemed freaked me out. Then I'm probably not leading my bedroom and Roscommon the theater producer from episode 22 everything. I mean, think if there's something that surprises me, it's the I still have capacity to be surprised. You know, like, how am I surprised when this is like, this is my everyday, you know, every new thing that I learn and every new Quirk of foul language my friend Jean taught me this lovely one the other day. It was something about how if people tell you that they met watching the football then it means that they met when were in prison. All right, how do you even find something like that out? Like that's actually a thing. Is it seemingly? Yeah. Okay lucija the marketer for sprite from home. Said 5 it's about what we discussed before it's about the differences versus nuances, but the nuances make big difference and and it's the way that they're mine are. Every time. I trying to think that the logical that they're using to respond to a certain stimuli and and in in its read me the most money each time. You learn a new insight. It's a new surprise. Definitely GT Chang the translator from episode 24 people can really spend home shop. Like especially when I was a working in like an office, you know building environment you kind of go out with lunch with colleagues and just like why are you looking at Thursday is really expensive that willingness to spend still mystified me cuz I think in my mind, I'm still a poor student. I haven't quite left that mentality left yet, right? Yep. Funny because actually the reputation of the Chinese in general is that they're good Savers, but you're right good Savers and get suspended at the same time. Which which is I think that's a philosophical question. Generally The Invention Company CEO from episode six how the old people can be adaptive to technology that is surprising like my grandma. She's eighty-eight. She hopped. She has iPhone xsmax. Oh my God, and she just wanted the largest wage thing and she won have we chat and she doesn't like to type which had has the audio message and the stickers most important things. She can collect the red pack. So we have the family group that every day. We just send some like, you know, ten quiet or five quite red pack and she's happy like that. Just somehow is the simplest the connection of em, And then I found out like a lot of people like me if their grandparents lived back in Hometown. They do the similar thing. Lexi Comstock, the cookie supplier from episode twenty I would say again just how quickly things move here. So this has been the constant from 2010 until now things move and update. So so quickly and that is just I think so unique to China at this very moment and anything from food safety laws to traffic laws to construction to.

"So that's amazing meals, all got this I believe in. God in that moment. Welcome to Messiah of China put cost about people who are making their mark in China. I'm your host Oscar Kooks. And, welcome as well to the first of ten special compilation episodes from season one. If you've been listening to this season, you will already know the different intra-. Music that things aren't quite the same as usual. And if you're entirely new to cost a third and special welcome to you. In a usual episode of the show will interview one person and that interview starts with a freestyle compensation based on an object at the guest house prepared in advance, and it ends with the guest. Nominating someone for me to interview in the next season of mistake of China. and. That's how tile by tile the thirty episodes of each season build out to form a mosaic of China. But before they make this nomination, I ask every guest the same ten simple questions on their tastes and opinions of life in China. and. It's the onset to these ten questions that form the content for these ten special compilation episodes. Today's compilation is about the guests favorite travel destinations in China. I wanted to get this one out of the way I because as a subject, it's perhaps the most ironic of the ten given that none of us have got any travel planned for the foreseeable future. But I hope that you'll at least be taking some notes for when the Boorda's finally reopened and transport networks begin to home again. Mandra the compliance leader from episode fifteen. Now, I would always come into. To. Definitely, visit that we got this damn between Georgia stems pronouncing. That is a phenomenally in structure natick logically engineering marvel that one should watch here screening So along Safety Dan, you created a kind of a ship lock system. "Beauty of the ten questions at the end is that now I can edit down the podcasts and do special compilation episodes of how everyone. Those. Ten questions. Okay. So this is what I've been doing for the last two months. I've just compiled them into special episodes on your favorite. China related a fact or on your favorite place to hang out and each of them really work well as a compilation episode. I never thought about that I haven't thought about it either to the extent that I thought I'm going to sit down and actually do it because. Who has the time to do that? Well, actually I didn't have the time. And I really enjoyed doing that because it's nice to hear all the different voices of the season together in one episode. And it sort of at the same time makes me feel about these thirty people even though they're so different and some have never even met each other they also have belonged together he and so I think without these compilations they all stand alone and I think with these compilations they now form something, which is sort of more unit which I've really enjoyed. So I have ten episodes now which I will release every two weeks. Allow Yeah. So that means I've got some content which I can drip out in the next twenty weeks, which hopefully will give me some time to towards the end start to record season two. So at the end of that process, hopefully, I'll be ready to release season two. Yeah that's fantastic and these these are going to be I think great episodes for a number of reasons for all the reasons that you mentioned but also because. They have such potential to reach out to people who aren't in mosaic of China right now like if on my feet something came up, that said Thirty People's answers to the best place to hang out in Shanghai I want to know the best places to hang out in Shanghai. Right? Favorite. Facts about China I want to know all these facts like this is great outreach potential. I agree and also like when it comes to engaging the people who are in those, we chat groups who have been sitting there quietly. Time. Thanks for me bullying them. This allows me to say, okay, it's going to be the episode on your favorite China fact. Now's the time for you guys to share your favorites. China fact this is such a brilliant idea. It's almost like you had this plan from the very beginning because it's such a serendipitous thing to do. Yeah. This is like people talk about the virus is allow me to be more creative and to look things in different angles and I think that's kind of what was inspiring me to do this and especially proud of the k-tvhe answer because. Even went and got the music that they set and have put it on the bed of what they're saying however I can't really sit copyright because copyright I've made the episode. So if somebody wants it, then they can email me and I'll share it privately, but I can't publicize that one. Excellent. One very much looking forward to all of that. I want I, want these episodes I want these compilations well, I. Love what you do. I love how? Engaged you've been with with my project and how helpful not just you actually there have been other people who have been also as generous, but you in particular have been so kind to always give me an onset to have reached out and helped, and so I really appreciate that and I wanted to make sure that your mark also in this is all. I'm very happy to do it and I think that there's real value in helping out other people as well. There are so many people in this day and age everyone's got a podcast, right but not everyone's doing it well, and and so I'm I'm happy to help out where I can when people are making good content that I enjoy listening to. Well, the same goes for you and let's end this podcast on this tone of mutual appreciation in the background music coming in now. Episodes almost. Over. Thank you Josh I'll make sure about that is exactly what we do and it'll sound. So smooth that you'll think clem pro I have.
