"She's none other than gunnery sergeant, UN United States Marine court Jesse Jane Duff, she worked on the Trump campaign co chair of veterans for Trump and also contributed a fellow colleague of mine on newsmax. Gunny, welcome to one on one. Thank you so much. I love your introductions. I get real big headed. Can't get me out of the studio after that. We will always stick to the truth. You are a gummy always a gunny. We've got to talk about what is happening in the last ten months to our services. As you know, the Marine Corps is especially close to my heart. I've worked with all the armed services but I spent two and a half years in Quantico. The latest breaking news item is we find it. I'm sure the Chinese are most impressed. I'm sure Vladimir Putin is quaking in his boots. We have a transgender admiral. Now thank the good lord, it's not in a real armed service. It's not in the coast guard or the navy. It's in the health corps, but put the footage up. This is what's his name Richard Levine, HHS, who has been made a quote unquote admiral in the health corps by the man who sadly bears the title commander in chief and president sleepy creepy Joe Biden. Jesse Jane, this disturbing turn of events, they're not going to keep this just to the health cor are they. Oh, absolutely not. For example, the national defense authorization act right now in Congress got passed. It has to go up to the Senate still. Got passed, though, that taxpayers would pay for transgender surgery. And vote for military members. Military members. So you could join the military. Now, here's something that a lot of people are not aware. The Trump administration did a year study on this under general Mattis, who was very open minded, maybe a little more so than many of us would have liked. For other issues such as women and ground combat, but getting back on this, general Mattis had this studied conducted and they came to find out that transgenders could join the military, but it would be after they've had the hormone treatment, the surgeries. And they were psychologically fit. So they were actually capable of doing the job. And there would be a 5, I believe it would be 5 years within the time that they are surgery. So that you knew that they had fully adjusted. We know that there are record breaking medical concerns among the transgender community for psychological issues, the what is it? What is it called gender dysphoria things to that effect? And I'm no expert on the topic. And I have no issue with the transgender being in the military, but I have a huge issue with the transgender who is using the military to be non

And sorry, that's not a stutter. That's what the apologists have been saying that how mean we are to point out how out of it he seems to be, well, he suffers from a lifelong stutter, because that's a great deflection. Could Mike Pompeo, Robert O'Brien, Make a Run for POTUS?

"Yeah, David drucker, I am going to moderate a debate of would be senators in ohioans on a night, the 6 Republicans who are running three nights at Senate to replace rob Portman, and I'm reading in Trump shattered or prepare for that debate. They might want to get a hold of a copy themselves if they want to know what I'm thinking about. I think you're going to sell like hotcakes. I can not wait to read this, but I wanted to ask you, I know that two of the profiles in the book are of Robert O'Brien and Mike Pompeo. I was with both of those men last week. I'm curious what your assessment of both of their intentions and odds are showed president Trump not enter the race. And if he should. Well, it's very interesting. Let me start with Mike Pompeo, the former Secretary of State because I spent so much time researching him and reporting on it. He wants to run for president. And in fact, in a podcast interview a couple of weeks ago and it's a companion to my book, so it's also athlete titled in Trump's shadow. I asked secretary Pompeo, if I said I know you're not going to tell me if you're running or not today, I'm not that I'm not that crazy. But I said, if Trump decides to run a third time, does that automatically mean you will not. And he would not say as some have said that that automatically means he would not. He said, look, if you're going to run for president, you need to believe that you have something unique and critical to offer the country at a time in history. He is planning to run and everything he is doing is about planning to run. Robert O'Brien, who I profile less, but did mention is a very interesting figure because he comes from the traditional wing of the party, but he fit in very well with Trump in The White House and was his most successful national security adviser from the perspective of doing the job and not getting crosswise with the commander in chief. Could be a very interesting dark horse candidate as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He's a Mormon. He comes from the west. There are pockets of Mormon voters in Arizona and Nevada, Idaho, other states where multi candidate primary, you might be able to do some damage. He's also interested in running. I classify him as less interested in Pompeo.

Kelvin Cochran Reminisces About His Childhood Dream to Become a Firefighter

"So Kelvin Cochran, the new book is called facing the fire. The faith that brought America's far cheek through the flames of persecution talk about that. Were you raised in the faith? Did you grow up in the Atlanta area? No, I grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, Eric, and then early 1960s. I was one of those American kids that had 5 years old. There was a fire across the alley that we lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, one Sunday after church. The Shreveport firefighters showed up. And when I watched those firefighters that day, Eric, I was smitten. And I looked at my mom and my brothers and sisters and said, I want to be a firefighter when I grow up. And we were taught as kids that in our country, if you believe in and have faith in God, go to school and get a good education that if we respect the grown-ups and treated other people like we want it to be treated that all of our dreams would come true. And that's the faith that was foundational to my whole life dreams and God used that those truths to make all of my dreams come true. That was back in the days before we all realized that white supremacy makes it impossible for somebody like you to accomplish anything. Here's how to get that in parenthetically. So somehow you because you believed in God because you believed in the American Dream, your dream came true. And I just want to say, you know, when I found out you were the fire chief of all of Atlanta. This is a huge city. You were commended by the president of the United States. Who was it at the time? I can't remember. President Barack Obama? Not ring any bells. Was he president? So you were commended by him. So you're at the top of your game in every

Kelvin Cochran Shares His Story of Religious Persecution in New Book 'Facing the Fire'

"Folks, I have a privilege of speaking with somebody I think of as a friend. Kelvin Cochran, you've heard him on this program before if you've been listening for a while. Since we're doing a fundraiser with the alliance defending freedom, it's appropriate that Kelvin Cochran would come out with this book now, because he has been the victim of what has happened in America where elites don't have any idea of what religious liberty is. They've been ham handed in overreaching and in squashing people's religious liberty and at the top of that list is Kelvin Cochran, who is a hero. The new book, he has written is called facing the fire. The faith that brought America's fire chief that's him through the flames of persecution, Kelvin Cochrane, welcome the program. Thank you, Eric. It's good to see you, my friend. It's great to see you. You're an encouragement to me. For my audience, tell the story briefly of what happened to you briefly because I want to get to what the rest of the book says. But you've been through the fire and the Atlanta, the folks in Atlanta were not good to you. You were the fire chief in all of Atlanta. Yes. Yes. I was a fire chief in the city of Atlanta and of course serving my profession honorably and faithfully. And while living out my faith at the same time, at my church, Elizabeth baptist church, Eric, I wrote a book for Christian me and Bible study that dealt with me and who struggled with condemnation and double mindedness. And in the book, who told you that you were naked? I was addressing sexual sand because many Christian man still struggle with sexual sin. I used the book of genesis to talk about God's view of sexuality, simple phrases like he created their male and female that eventually mother and father cleve to his wife and to become one flash and that created them appropriate because he wanted a big family of kids. Those few paragraphs cost me my childhood dream come true 34 year fire service career when an Atlanta city council member complained to the mayor about what I wrote about biblical marriage and sexuality. The mayor suspended me for 30 days to see if I had discriminated against anyone from the LGBTQ community based on my beliefs that investigation exonerated me, however I was terminated

"MRC news busters Kyle dren and Andrew Mitchell falsely claims the Republican Party booed palate to 2000 convention As news broke Monday morning of the passing of former Secretary of State and joint chiefs chairman Colin Powell and NBC's Today Show Adrian Mitchell jumped at the chance to exploit his death to bash Republicans But in her ghoulish rush to do so she got her facts wrong when she falsely claimed he was booed at the 2000 GOP national convention She said I was on the floor of the convention in 2000 and fled off and when Republicans booed him She even went so far as to argue that moment began the late general shift of the Democrat party years later She said but he just stood out from his Republican Party even back in 2000 at the convention for speaking up for black rights and eventually did endorse Barack Obama as you know Later on 12 p.m. MSNBC show Mitchell recalled what supposedly upset the GOP crowd She said I remember being on the floor of the convention the GOP convention in Philadelphia in 2000 He was booed from the floor because he spoke about affirmative action She declared again and that was the beginning of a public break you know internally for him with the Republican Party Mitchell then finally remembered quote and so the endorsement will meet the press with Tom broke on 2008 a Barack Obama the black candidate was such a momentous occasion in politics By the way I was at that convention And I don't remember any booing and I was right Despite Mitchell's unchallenged assertions about how being derided by Republicans in 2000 An examination of C-SPAN's coverage of the GOP convention that year does not show him being booed at all In fact during the passage of his speech dealing with affirmative action which Mitchell specifically cited only cheers and applause were heard The footage shown on screen displayed people on the convention floor celebrated pal speech Perhaps Mitchell heard a small smattering of booze from her spot in the convention hall while covering the event

"China is not an enemy. And I think that's important for people to clearly understand. China is a rising power, China has been a rising power since Deng Xiaoping in 79. And they are going to develop themselves in our developing themselves into a great power. That is not to say, however, that they are an enemy. They're not an enemy. They're just a great power. That's according to the chairman of the joint chiefs when he was speaking in his private capacity as chief of staff of the army. The NATO summit, maybe that explains a lot about Mark Billy. We'll discuss the realities of what China thinks they are to us and how they're eating our lunch with the man that we always rely upon to tell us about the geo strategic reality in Asia and in Beijing. He's the author of a fabulous work you must check out right now. It's you will be assimilated. China's plan to Sino form the world. David Goldman. Welcome to one on one. A sub gorka it is an honor and privilege to spend fine with you, sir. Thanks for the invitation. I just realized I'm looking at the cover of your book that the Chinese dragon has a pair of iPhone ear pods in. That's a very nice little touch there. I missed in the past. David, we'll talk about Millie. We'll talk about the truth of China Beijing. Xi Jinping and everything else. But first, I have to ask you. People having the Christmas present. So that's, you know, the pipes don't worry about that. Let me ask you, let's think like the Chinese Communist Party for a moment. What does China think of the fact that America can't unload its cargo ships? The Chinese have contempt for us. They think they can take us. We just published an a four times an excerpt from a book by Chinese economist used to be the chief economist of the World Bank Chicago university PhD. Who says, look at history. Look at the United States versus England at the end of the 19th century. The English were lazy complacent and the United States come from behind, took them out and ate their lunch. "So Brian stelter, asbury wise kind of like, oh, Barry wise, you say the world has gone mad. Why do you say the world has gone mad and she owns stelter to his face. Very Weiss. Is able to say so clearly, here's why the world has gone mad. Why are you not doing anything about it? And then he challenges his, oh, well, it's not like you're not allowed to say those things. Play Barry Weiss, some of the most beautiful two minutes on television of CNN being called out to their face. By the way, this is a moderate liberal. She is not a conservative, she's not a leftist, this is someone who's on the center left who worked for The New York Times. Listen. You write, there are tens of millions of Americans who aren't on the hard left or the hard right who feel the world has gone mad. So in what ways has the world gone bad? Well, you know, when you have the chief reporter on the beat of COVID for The New York Times, talking about how questioning or pursuing the question of the lab leak is racist, the world has gone mad. When you're not able to say out loud and in public that there are differences between men and women, the world has gone mad. When we're not allowed to acknowledge that rioting is rioting and it is bad. And that silence is not violence, but violence is violence, the world has gone mad. When we're not able to say that Hunter Biden's laptop is a story worth pursuing the world has gone that, when in the name of progress, young school children as young as kindergarten are being separated in public schools because of their race. And that is called progress rather than segregation, the world has gone mad. There are dozens of examples that I could share with you in which you often say you say a lot of knows this. And you say we're not allowed to lose the people stopping the conversation. Who are they? People let work at networks, frankly, like the one I'm speaking on right now who try and claim that, you know, it was racist to investigate the lab leak theory. It was. But I'm just saying, when you say a loud, I just think it's a provocative thing to say, you say, you say, we're not allowed to talk about these things. But they're all over the Internet. I can Google them. Everywhere. I've heard about every story you mentioned. So I'm just suggesting, of course, people are allowed to cover whatever they want to cover. But you and I both know and it would be delusional to claim otherwise that touching your finger to an increasing number of subjects that have been deemed third rail by the mainstream institutions and increasingly by some of the tech companies will lead to reputational damage, perhaps you losing your job. Your children sometimes being demonized as well. And so what happens is a kind of internal self censorship. This is something that I saw over and over again when I was at The New York

"What is important for me to tell you is that I believe that what I had decided to do over the course of the last year and a half, I believe has been justified. I wanted to achieve natural immunity, which is by far the more robust immunity that one can have against the COVID or any virus. As Morton mccary, Marty Mackay, professor Johns Hopkins school of medicine, and the Bloomberg school of public health and the editor in chief of med page today wrote in The Washington Post, natural immunity to COVID is powerful policy makers seem afraid to say so. More than 15 studies have demonstrated the power of immunity acquired by previously having the virus. A 700,000 were person study from Israel to weeks ago this is a few months ago. Found that those who had experienced prior infections were 27 times less likely to get a second symptomatic COVID infection than those who were vaccinated. Did you hear that? 700,000 person study in Israel, 27 times less likely than vaccinated people.

"Thoughts on the line for the first game seemed to go. Pretty darn good brown seemed to be taking heat but mahomes was a little hesitant to step up times yet to be fair that's myles garrett over there he's pretty damn good right right well. I thought i thought the interior line has fantastic. I really there was very little pressure at all. Mahomes up to. I thought he was. I thought he was really protected. Well by the by the trio of tune humphrey and smith sang by or just pretty good gets cloudy. The first game. I think overrated. But he's a good player. I thought the yang a pretty nice job there. Garrett was the one who is paying the ass right and brown did get a handful of times off the edge. I didn't love that. I thought of all these guys branded the weakest game. I also don't think it's a coincidence that he was going against myles garrett a myles garrett is a top three edge rusher in the nfl. So i don't think in the end you're that upset about it. Look cheap up. Six quarterback hits a couple of those are pretty late penalty but like well athlete threw the ball. They gave up to shocks. I was okay with the chiefs offense of i thought they played a pretty good front. I'll tell you what. I was really. Impressed by mohican mcdowell. Who's a second round pick and how to how to atv action for seattle years ago. Looked like he was going to retire. Play a hell of a game really. He was good accused. I would argue other other than gary team. So the chiefs played a tough front and the browns brought some pressures and whatnot. I the chiefs offensive line was fine. I did not think the offensive line was an issue in this game again and brown be a little bit better. But i'd also like to see him go against somebody who's not myles garrett. Yeah yeah that was. That was a good early test for them. And yes i thought. I thought they converted a couple You know short yardage running plays which was a problem for them last year. It wasn't like that she's running all over the browns. They definitely weren't but they weren't really trying to. It's clydes first game back after you know after that injury Actually was back in the super bowl. But you know it's gonna take some time to get into swing things and frankly. I think that we would have seen a different game plan from the chiefs on offense if it wasn't for the way that the game started but again it it was just. It was exactly what cleveland wanted right. They came out and they got the lead. And then the chiefs were in their script. They came away with three. Which by the way. I thought they should've gone for it..

"Early in the in the preseason was this chiefs defensive line as really talented. Didn't look like today and the first half. I mean you could have driven a mack truck through some of those holes was it. was it. Just early season jitters like. What do you make that early performance. I make that they suck. I mean and also this has got to be their linebackers early in this game. I mean my god. Fill a run gap. Anybody i get it. That's probably the best offensive line and football and in. Cleveland is the best running backs in football. So i get it. It's a huge test. That early seventeen yards at run by the touchdown. That was embarrassing. I very rarely say this. Actually mean i could've run for that. I mean there was nobody touched. There was nobody within ten yards of him. The can't happen. There were two plays with the pilots getting pushed in the end. They won the game because the went on late. They made place and with this team. Let's face it with kansas city. That defense is judge. Zoff points not yards. I don't care how many yards give up if they hold teams to field goals. That forearms are gonna win the game and they did it. They did it. They forced return to turnovers plus on special teams. And then the big three and out. I wanna get to a few questions kind of tie into this show. I saw shoot a free fast. You know the more issues and just matthew clark. I totally agree. I totally now. I think some of the passing the fence issues are solved by those two guys. Because clark's second best pass rusher on the team and matthew's great player. I think some of those plays were like they were breaking down and coverage like the deep all that thornhill gave up like that doesn't happen with matthew in my opinion right or four less chance. That happens but i actually thought they really miss the athleticism speed willie. Gay has how many times are they beaten to the edge in this game at the second level. I'll.

"What's up addicts. Welcome to the first ever arrowhead addict chiefs post game show. I'm patrick i'm joined by my co host. The attic podcast. Matt verda ram. That was that was stressful. I took a couple of years off my life but the chiefs found a way to win. What's your initial reaction. I need to buy week. That's my already already look. It was a crazy game. there was a crazy game. You get down. And she's got down early twenty to ten the couldn't get a stop. The felt like my god. They couldn't get him to third down. It was just. It was incredible. But i think with the chiefs you always feel like they're in the games because they are always in the game. I think the super bowl the lone exception in the history of all they do not get blown out always around in cleveland. And we'll get into it. Cleveland made some big mistakes. The chiefs didn't and the final result. Is kansas city. Go going on in cleveland going. All my what i have to imagine is a very frustrating plane. Ride back to cleveland. Yeah tough tough loss for the browns. This one stinks probably almost as bad. Not quite but almost as bad as their playoff loss last year. We've got a lot of you guys in the chat on various platforms log in. Let us know your questions. What's up sherlock. What's upon our ad. jonathan Yeah what a game. Indeed patrick mahomes for the wind. But it wasn't just patrick mahomes and this one boy. There's so much to get to ring if some people a little bit more time to get in here it what point. I just let it is. We're talking broad. Big picture verte ram. At what point did you think. Oh god they've got a chance for a while. I never feel like she's out of it but the way the defense was playing was like it doesn't matter what we do we're behind. They're just gonna be able to stop them. I always felt that chance. I really did. Just because of the offense you just felt like well. I actually at one point said to myself if they could just 'cause turnover they'll get back in this game and the literally. The next play was when nixon fumbled the ball. So you know. I will say this. I think when the game turned from me thinking that a chance to be thinking like actually a very good chance to find a way to win was the bomb down the field. The hill the seventy five yarder because cleveland scores. It's twenty nine twenty. Its fourth quarter now the chiefs of course if timing often they do but when when mahomes hitch hell for that bomb it electrified the crowd. The crowds now into with the defense gets your new life. The offense is going. I think that was the moment. I felt like all right now now for the first time in the game the pressures on cleveland cleveland now has to respond and if you remember they immediately went three and out and then fumbled upon right. Harold who works does great work at fox in kansas city. Tweeted out a picture of the play by play and he. He took a picture of those five plays. Like here's the game and harrell's right on a those five plays to me. Swung it from. They could win the game two. They probably will find a way to win the game. It was incredible the way..

"Him mark as a guy that was kind of on the fringe. I think he probably is on the outside looking in just because they're carrying so many. Dvd's but you know. I agree with you. I mean you're you're actually making some plays so again. He's maybe one of those guys you think he's got potential. You give him the nod over a guy who doesn't really produce defensively like an on line see this is. What's so funny. Though is we're talking about guys get. It's way easier on our side when we talked about this for a living. It's easy to take the emotion sometimes because the end of the day these are guys will be getting cut. So it's we anything. I broadly speaking for you as well. Anything that we say We don't take any any joy in saying this guy's not gonna make the chief her. We don't take any any sort of joy. It's nothing personal. It's nothing along those lines. Because again i always end up feeling bad when guys get cut like even talk oh charleston. I was like man. That really sucks. You feel for these guys. This is their livelihood. They put their heart and soul into everything they've done to get to this point and i think what's special though at least for some of these guys they're going to get a lot of other opportunities cities and such birds spot. They're so talented. So deep it. So many positions other team are gonna pick guys up. And they have the india read touch they. They've been around some guys you know they've been around some championships have been around a super bowl. So i'm hoping that a lot of these guys say it's darwin thompson says games we've seen kennedy chiefs uniform for a while now. If they're not here. I hope they at least get another opportunity. Well i laughing all say to you know. I think you'd rather be cut from the chiefs then cut from say you know not to non-tobacco on the raiders. But you'd rather be from the chiefs in there and you know at the end of the day you might get brought. I think there's a number of these guys you know even a dr thompson and You know derek beaters. Those guys are probably unless they get claimed are the chiefs are probably gonna bring back a dr one thompson just because if you got him on the practice lod somebody goes down. That's an easy guy you can pull back up. He's at least familiar with the guys familiar with the game. So yeah i'm with you. I think you know it's definitely is helping sad. But at the end of the day Is probably going to send some of these guys careers. I mean today to be on the chiefs practice squad might be better than being on the new york jets actual squad. So you got that going for you guys research jordan. This was a lot of fun elite right here jordan. Mannix follow him on twitter. Working people find you what you got going on next. I always appreciate you. Fill in for a for matt conner. I mean we we gotta like we got to tell matt simulate like you're you're a great feeling for the boss. Thanks man i appreciate you. "So y'all wanna give some credit there Lyle let's land this plane. You have six surprises. Your sixth is actually my favorite. Because i love this kid tell me Why don't you introduce them for our listeners. Yeah i've been if you've been reading my stuff all offseason. I have been pounding the table for pass rush up. I'm like we do not have enough outside. Pass rush will you please go get some more And and i'm. I'm fine with them playing chris jones out there but you saw clear passing down. They were sliding chris jones back inside. So you're still going to need some guys on the outside. That can get pass rush in man. If tim ward wasn't the best outside. Pass rusher in that game. On saturday in. And i'm including frank clark in that conversation I don't know what game you're watching. Because i thought he was clearly the best On the field. And i kind of just wasn't letting myself go there with him this off season. He had the sack in the san diego game when they rested a bunch of the starters at the end of the year And so then you're kinda gone okay. The guy down sack and looked okay. But it's it's one week. I don't know that you can. You can count on that. But then they come out in the first preseason game in lick fantastic and get to sacks and it's very similar to me to what i said about The wide receiver core. Where it's like. It's not like you've gotta out some unbeatable guys to get playing time there. I mean i hope. Taco charleston is effective this year You know i hope Oh my gosh. I'm blanking on the guy that they resigned like the four. Yes thank you okafor. I hope okeafor can stay healthy for once in play well but those are the kinds of guys that were needs to beat out for playing time. I don't think that's a big ask at this point. I mean if those guys are clearly better than him great. They play if he's clearly better than they are. They don't have any long term investment in those guys similar to what i said about the wide receivers so man. I am now cheering for tim. Were to be good so hard. Because since they didn't go out in design any big pass rush hell man if he could be even just like an average edge. Pass rusher at the nfl level. Signed me up. We need those guys. Go tim ward. So you're saying. Tim needs to ward off. Okeafor and joshua canedo well done that is exactly what i'm saying. Ward up okay. Cameo man a..

Look we get everybody's not going to like not gonna like what we do and you got to have a thick skin if you're gonna work in this business but it is nice to to know that there's people out there that are listening that appreciate the work that we do and want to take the time to to give us a review and actually mentioned our names more than the haters so we appreciate that and i know you get some hate every once in while to verte ram right. Maybe on twitter occasionally. I've literally most people great by the way okay. I want to point that in practice. Most people ninety nine point some odd percent are awesome and i love having the interactions i do with you know everybody who listens and reads my stuff and interaction me on twitter. yeah. I've had people threatened to kill me. I mean literally like an email or so and by the way. I'm still waiting. I'm right here stuff you know. Yeah that's right. Oh god yeah. Yeah i'd i'd wanna take actually now. I don't have facebook at this point in my life. I did years ago. I had a guy wants. Like i forget how exactly play so long. He basically he went on my facebook and then found my wife facebook and started commenting on our wedding photos and was like a kind of like almost threatening her through the photos. Over some opinion i add. People are crazy crazy. That said look if somebody wants to say. Hey look you got face. Radio you're unlistenable. That's that's fantastic. That's right. I get it sometimes. I feel unlistenable. Everybody's been so great and by the way for the record youtube thing super exciting if you're if you're curious at all and you're like why don't know how that's going to change my experience of hearing the it's not it's still going to be a podcast. We're still going to be able to hear it anyway. You're listening to right now. It's still the exact same is just also adding youtube. So if you want to watch it you can. And one of the exciting's it's going to happen is we're going to go live after the games so on when the chiefs play. Let's keep it on sunday. I don't wanna get the thursday or monday. But on sundays we're going to be alive at some point after the game. You know. my job is gone. So i don't know if it'll be like the second game ends. It'll be later. That night will clear everybody. Is we get a little but during the season. We'll be doing podcasts week. And we'll be. We'll be going live on sunday night at the game. At some point. I would imagine like to and they play the ravens are probably be pretty much a media so it'd be a lot of fun we'll break it down with i sect it..

"Back in. I always say. And i noticed that sterling did this to hell say we'll say the arrowhead attic podcast and it's like sterling's radio radio thing right because if you're like in your car and then you flip on the radio and you don't know what you're listening to and they say hey we're going to a quick break but you're listening to whatever right you know with sterling homes and it's like this is a. We don't need to do that. I'm going to try to work myself out of that habit. Not that i've ever been a radio guy but just a funny little thing that we do on podcast that we probably don't need to do to remind you what you're listening to and who you're listening to so i saw that alex smith is going to be an analyst for espn. I think this is a slam dunk for. Espn what do you think. Oh no doubt. He's such a smart well schooled individual in terms of the game. I mean and nobody would ever say. Alex smith doesn't know football right. Everybody respects his his intellect in the way he views obviously have everything. He's gone through. Yeah i don't. I don't think there's any question i don't think any question. It's a home run free. Spn he's going to be great. I really look forward to. I really look forward to hearing his analysis now. And i always was not always feel that way. I think some guys get hired. They're excellent fell pliers and that's why the higher nothing more i think. Alex smith a lot like romo will bring something extra to to his analysis. I don't think it's just going to be. He's couch dancers. I think he's going to be very interesting. And insightful and i look forward to hearing him. And i'm glad for him that he's making the transition had a great career. Glad he's getting out when he as and now. I think he'll be in as long as you want it to be in. Yeah and he's i think you're right. There's a he's not going to be in never has been when he talked to the media interviews. He's very even keeled. Guy doesn't get frustrated a lot. That's one of the reasons why he was a good quarterback. He's pretty cool and calm under pressure and i think he'll bring some of that personality to being an analyst talking about what's going on and breaking things down i don't think he'll ever be at one of the bombast guys not that it doesn't hurt to have a little bombast in with your analysis but that's not alex smith. I think it's going to be really good stuff. And i'm really. I'm really fired up for him. So let's talk about the preseason really quickly we got a couple of games this year as a different format. What do you think the chiefs should do because on one hand they have a rookie class. That they're really liking that they a lot of people that they think..

"Yeah and and it's it makes things easier when you have a mobile quarterback mahomes who can move. Who can escape pressure and all the other weapons that kansas city has right and add to that the play call and creativity of andy. Reid you just want to try to keep these guys from getting the red zone in the first place. I think all the chiefs if you're going to be kansas city. It always comes down to well. First and foremost you gotta get fresh. Mom's okay but beyond that you have to play wall. Situation can't city field on third. Then you've got to be able to convey your third dance. you probably have to win the special teams game. I'll be break even and then in the red zone. You absolutely have to win if you can't win that you now the chiefs last year before. The chargers game where they play their backups. The cheese went fourteen in one last season against a very very hard schedule and the worst red on defense in football league. Think about how much better than they are. If this year they're middle of the road defensively in the red zone and offensively they just stay in the top. Ten didn't lose they lose. I'm not getting into the whole twenty thing. I know it's been kind of talking point. But i really do think genuinely. If they're healthy they could go fifteen to sixteen in one like i. I generally feel that way and you will get their schedule. They're not going to be an underdog in any game the season unless they have injuries. they're healthy. There's not an underdog in any game this season. I know the early lines the only game that they weren't favored. It was a pick them at baltimore. And i gotta tell you. Good luck finding somebody who's picking baltimore that game after the way. Those two teams played over the last four years. I wouldn't want to be on that side of it will last year and they've played each other and twee jackson drove one hundred yards in the game. So if you're a fan.

"Who's a guy like candidate fifteen guys. Okay i mean come on. That's not the way it is. Kansas city can't save if there's not a whole lot to pump up about a guy. I think there's almost attacked of like well. Let's not make expectations way too. Big and then you know things. Fall flat the expectation around. This draft class is agreed on free trade. Smith noah gray are all going to be very very good player. That is you're constantly out of there so and by the way one guy who. I haven't talked a lot about but has also gotten good buzz from understanding neang. Who played really well. We haven't talked a lot about it. And because we're talking about brown was about tunisia. It's all about humphrey and smith but my understanding is even though he's giving a lost in the shuffle so to speak has done a really nice job and now remers comes back to practice today. A little bit and olympic capacity will have taken that right tackle job back scared at all. Point three rookies on this line. I know they're not scared of playing two of them because two of them are gonna and that's been obvious for a while. now. I i would not be shot. It is far from out of the question that they're going to start three rookies right next to each other on that line. The noah gray stuff in here is really great as well. You talk about training with with. George george kettles father and you know when he came out everybody was kind of like. Oh yeah he's like a nice little piece right like he's not an incredibly athletic. He's not very fast. You know he's he's got some good hands and Might be a nice little piece that they can deploy but it sounds like in the peace kiddle says i think it's the kettle senior right. He's not he's not travis kelsey right. He's not he's not travis kelsey. He's not physically travis kelsey but he is a different kind of player. There's a little bit more finesse to his game. And you know andy. Reid is a mad scientist and like who knows. I don't know what noah gray is going to be. And a few years from now if travis chelsea's off the roster but with travis kelsey on the roster you see andy reid. We've seen it every if the fact that you've been complaining about guys like kaiser and some of these other backup tight ends of the year's getting passed the stone to them dropping them and things like that the reason. You've been complaining about those things. Andy reid likes to use that. Second tight end spot as a receiver sometimes in certain situations and he hasn't really had anybody that was like a threat. There was a true receiver. Not at all So i went through. I went through. Actually when i wrote this piece and i did the research on their second. String tight end since kelsey has been on the team not not including his first year when he was out for the yorkshire microfracture surgery. Okay so he's been on the field and explain so in over the last seven seasons reading right from the article. Kansas city has employed five different second-string tight ends with only dimitrius harris holding the job. For more than one year.

"Fans dot com firm. You've been working on this piece for a number of weeks now and it goes back to some some reporting that you've been doing for months over what the chiefs of in doing during the offseason people that connections you have within the organization in the nfl. He talked a little bit about for those. Who haven't read it yet. What what's on the peace. Yeah sure so. Yeah i've been writing it for a few weeks. I've been i've been gathering information on it since march. Um and it's been a lot of fun to put together. Goal was essentially a highlight. A lotta the different moves at cheese made in the off season ranging from signing joe tony michigan trump. Williams is mentioned in there as well but also the signing of drawn. Read the trade for on the brown. And there's a lot of stuff and how the draft class shook out with with trae smith with noah gray with creed humphrey and also an undrafted. Free agent ivanka. Who's actually playing really really well with somebody that i do. My conversations for this piece. I learned is a decent to make the roster watched by the way for him watch when he's on special teams if you plays walling teams. He's probably making the roster. So i went and did a lot of digging on all those subjects and talked to many sources. More than half dozen high-ranking sources for this piece and so really gathered a lot of intel for it. And i think you know look. There's there's a lot on each one of those subjects that i brought up you know for an example to kind of what the appetite the orlando brown trade. So that happens a week before the draft and that's a situation where the chiefs worked the ravens for two weeks to try to land or land the brown it was a back and forth the haggled over value. You know it's hard when you trading draft but there's also a player involved as a contract of course the two teams at a very high highly thought of in terms of their competitive levels and neither one is just a rebuild and just wants picks thrown. They wanna make sure they're getting the proper value one of the things that that the teams did to make it work was using internet draft calculator like that was actually helping both sides come to some kind of consensus on value and that ended up making a big difference down the road because six days later the draft starts and the second date draft cheese sitting there with two second round picks one of them coming from baltimore. Well the cheese with baltimore's original second round pick took nick bolt five picks later. Did.

One only three weeks this year and only two game site. New england in washington and filling in pittsburgh feels like football star and really kind of come back and rounded shape your indefinitely some intrigue with what those teams new england in particular and in washington and with only a couple of preseason games. It'll be interesting to see how these coaches handle that. and we're going to talk about the chiefs. I've got on the on the docket here for us to talk a little bit. About how how. We think andy reid and the she should approach the preseason as well. But i wanted to so i. I got myself some cocoa puffs. We've been talking about cocoa puffs here for a while. "And capability on the roster now and it makes me wonder if that final wide receiver. Spa is being saved for which guy can look the best. Because we can't trust like hardman to go back there and be that guy again. And i and i mean beyond pringle thinking punts in particular so yeah. I'm just kinda curious about this roster makeup and seeing how that is going to play out starring. Let me ask you this. Let's go back in time for it. We've been talking present. Whatever i'd love to know as the chiefs roster is currently made up now and maybe or maybe this won't sway your answer but if you can reach back in the chiefs history even last year if you wanna bring sherman back for example and vaccinating making play. Whatever i can't let that one go by the way anyway if you or if you want to reach back all the way and say give me. I want lamar hunt alive again and the owners box. Whatever if you could bring back any chiefs player or figure if you like from the past to be a part of this season's roster and this season's run at a super bowl who would it be. And why would derrick. Thomas is the easy answer. I don't really want to go that route. Because i think it's too easy especially with the concerns. That pass rush that to me. Seems seems to easy right. I feel like ninety. Five percent of folk would say dare thomas. That's the easy answer with the revamp. But oh line i don't really feel like picking up another line Like we'll shield to be fantastic. Are willie roaf. I get it s. Not fun for me. That's just okay. What i want to go with is the one running back that has ever mattered in the past like fifteen years. And that's jamaal. Charles jamaal charles if you want to get into the advanced analytics what. He did was historically unprecedented. It was amazing. You put him on a good team. He was playing on those terrible teams. Everyone knew what candidate who was going to do and he was still dowdy for six a carry. That is absurd not only that he was an absolute beast in the past game. I like to layer. He ain't no jamaal charles. You put your mall charles on this roster get him an open space time and time again is over. Like retiree killed travis. Kelsey animal homes right there. Okay what the hell you gonna do. Yeah i doubt that to me would be unfair video game. Ask stupid. I know but in my brain. I want to see that happen. I mean that's two thousand yards from scrimmage. Am i right. I mean that's like it's not matic. It's child's play. Pick your poison but this poison can kill you. Seventeen thousand ways almost like. I almost feel shame in whatever answer i get because jamal is really i mean. He's just he was such a great back. I think we all just your answer matt. I'm gonna ask. I feel bad. No you didn't think. I'd i think i'd go just recent history and go at tomba. I'd just like to me. He was always. The model of consistency was such a great out..

"We can afford him. Get him you win. Which starch outlook mccall. Hardman is a good and he's an important player to them but you're not winning super bowl because mccoll hardman. You're winning because tyreek hill and travis kelsey and patrick mahomes and those guys are the son of your solar system goes other players. Hitchings hardman offensive lineman. They're your planet's guys tyron matthew. He's the son of your solar system guys like christiane the son of your solar system. Do you need the sun. You need the sun. Everything else dies around it right you win championships. Which star players. And that's why she's been so aggressive and landing star players. Gaza landau brown by the way. That's why they've been aggressing. Keeping their star players so many extensions what we've seen over the last couple of years. That's how you win you in every sport and don't ever let me tell you different because it's garbage. That is how you win. And we saw in the super bowl run the importance of player. Like sammy watkins. Who they do not win the super bowl. Without i'm convinced you need other guys to step up is demarcus robinson a guy that's going to be able to step up for them. When teams try to take away calcium hell. Is it going to be byran. Pringle is going to be mccoll hartman. Who's going to be that they better. They better start demonstrating. These guys have been around right now. Marcus robinson could great value from where he was picked. And he's right mccoll hartman. That's put up or shut up time. We'll see we'll see they're still a long way to go. A lot of things that can happen in a roster changes that could could happen between now and when the chiefs really need all hands on deck all right. We've got one listener review from our guy. Clint mckenzie pr manager for the era podcast. He says over on apple podcasts. In his five star review fan sided tastic. Look this is the best most entertaining. She's podcast feed out there. "Can help you keep winning and i think brady's at a stage in his career where he's not going to be running around back they're making matt too many place happen so he needs somebody to throw the ball to and we saw what happened in new england when he didn't have that and as greatest mahomes is right. Yeah alwin don't make the playoffs. They'll they'll be able to beat teams. We've watched them do it. Tyreek has been hurt before right like no sammy watkins like they've beat the teams that they're supposed to be probably but when it comes to the playoffs when it comes to going up against the browns are the bills are they're in the super bowl and they're playing aaron rodgers and the packers or something like that and and teams are selling out. And they're good. You've got a problem. And so for all the chiefs fans who are like. Julio jones is always hurt which is not true. Look up how many games he plays every season. And oh it's give the draft picks. I'm telling you man like if they can do it they should. Because i do think they really need. And maybe it's not. Julio jones you know maybe they trade for somebody else. There are a lot of other wide receivers in the league. Who are good. Who may be the chiefs. Could target. Brian traders down dre hawkins. Oh yeah cities that get get. Get on get on the phone arizona and on a mighty at the out a window when he saw that trade. Yeah yeah i'm andrea was happy. You went to the nfc but my beach like mike. Call us we would have given you. I don't think bill o'brien would have been dumb enough to trade deandre hopkins to the. She's there are no bounds to what bill. O'brien might do. I don't want to put limits on bill o'brien day. It's a travesty. He's no longer can he. Can the raiders. Bring him in like if may ox gone after this year. Can the raiders. Bring him in. Gm that would that would be fantastic. We please bring him in or like the broncos like if they stink this year and they are way fangio. You bring bill. O'brien just let him get involved teams in the. Afc south held like a moment of silence after they fired him. God unbelievable but you know. I'll say this. This is real. Also i have on it. I'll vehicle off. Turn here but i promise. Come full circle. I learned i. I'm thirty two years. I've watched sports almost my. I can remember back at five years old sixers being really the sports okay and i grew up in new york for everyone. I'm sure can tell from my accent. Just from knowing from hearing me over the years i grew up with die. Hard knick fan. Nick bat out and five last night. The hawks the knicks overachieved. Okay a great cheater. The region they lost to the hawks in the end was because they don't have the star power they just don't trae young as best foreign series. You're an nba fan. You know who he is to lose..

"Let's talk about. This is interview. That alex smith did. He was just asked about the roger situation. And it really. It turned out to be like what a lot of people were calling a great pr interview for the chiefs. Because they asked him about rogers and how they handle it and so. I think it was the dan patrick show and they asked him. Like how did the chiefs the chiefs tell you before they drafted. And if you don't i'm talking about obviously aaron rodgers very disgruntled with packers says he wants out and a lot of it seems to stem from the fact that a couple of years ago they took jordan love in the first round instead of help for their super bowl contending team and help for rogers so and they didn't tell him that he didn't know they just drafted this guy so the question was you know what what did the chiefs do when they took mahomes. Did they tell you that they were doing. And here's what alex smith said. He said absolutely that had been communicated the entire season leading up to that the entire offseason by multiple multiple people. Everybody in the personnel department coach. Reid constantly there were multiple phone calls about what was happening. That happened when we drafted cap with coach harbaugh. When he was in san francisco. I know well. I knew well in advance what the team was thinking the route that they were going to go and i think that makes a difference. It does honestly and errands case going out of your way to let him know how the team feels about them. How the organization feels about them. How important he is and that. Potentially they're thinking this route and explaining their thinking clearly from an outside looking in it didn't happen and it didn't take place so first of all alex smith was this was just the chiesa. They respected the hell out. Alex smith right. Yes alex smith and the same thing with the forty niners. Anybody who you over here. Talk about alex. Smith just raised about the guy and what a professional he is but both of these teams did with a guy who was not on the level of a roger mahomes. He wasn't the franchise. They're drafting quarterbacks. For a reason right what what are the what were the packers thinking here to not involve aaron rodgers and say and i think here's the thing these athletes unfairly get called prima donnas a lot of the time and i think that in a situation like this. It's you know you get fans on there and they're they're always taking this out of the ownership enrich billionaires for some reason. I don't understand but they're like oh well you know it's booze news and they need to look for the future of the team which i think aaron rodgers understands that. I think the idea here is that like if you can't be like let's have a conversation about it. Shows me that you value me right now. And everything i've done for this franchise. I brought this franchise tons of money. I brought this ranch as a super bowl championship. And you just like you go and make this massive move without even consulting them. The leader of the team. What are these teams thinking when they when they do this stuff. Well in this case not much sometimes players are premadonna sh and sometimes you know that that is totally fair. Characterization of away guy accent also fans root for ownership in these skirmishes because they for the laundry. They root for the they were for the team and the team is represented by ownership players. Transient ownership runs a team. So on and so that said aaron rodgers has every right to be pissed the dated explain to him.
