"The cake at forty seven. Yeah, Nice I. Would deliver my acceptance speech where we have to get to the news so all moving along I will. Now. Can I say something I don't know Cesario in sports and all that kind of reminded me this I, brought it up once maybe a long time ago, Can we stop this thing? Where at the end of the boxing match or the UFC fight? There's like a close hard fought battle five rounds. The REF stands between the two fighters. He holds both their risk in order to raise the hand of the winner. They're talking about judge. Marquez, has it? Fifty five fifty four Judge Garcia has it tied fifty five. And, one guy's raising his hand already. It's like put your fucking hand down. Let us. Can we get through this so sometimes guy or oftentimes both guys? We'll have their free hand up and it's like. Let me explain how work you stand in the center of the ring. The Guy with the bowtie holds your res- and then he raises the one who wins you. Don't raise the one while the reading all the judges scorecards. It's weird, and then at some point you put yours down. The other guy puts his up or sometimes. You're both up. We should eliminate that. We should know a good. Here's the new protocol. There and you wait to have your hand raise not raise your free arm. That's all. Make sense as a to influence the referee while he's ordering at one hand up. Also the reading the judges scorecards you think one of the judd goes. Hold on. Give them all game giving up. I like that guy's armpit. I'm going to go ahead and change round for. Round. All Right? We'll take a quick break. We'll come back with the news right after this. Break! All those crazy trump tweets. "You know I think. born Born in USA came out and you know blew people away you know. I had a copy of that on cassette like you know. Probably millions of other people did played it back and forth and over and over and and I remember I distinctly remember. Hearing this summer that that came out at some point on the radio they played born to run and I was Kinda like sounds like the Guy Bruce springsteen I just heard on the tape I have so he must have a new song that come out Hello everyone and welcome to a new episode. Set lessening Bruce. Your podcast all about Bruce springsteen his music and mostly is fans. I am your host Jesse Jackson and joining me. Tonight is another new. Buddy from the northeast. He is in Boston. Doing the lockdown. Like the rest of us. I'm here in Dallas doing the lockdown. Chris glad to have here thank you. Jessie this great. To meet you It is great to meet you. Why don't you tell my audience little batch yourself give us your elevator speech sure I am a physical therapist. I actually teach physical therapy at northeastern university here in Boston I grew up in your city so I had a little bit of a close proximity to Bruce's music growing up merit of Gutsu kids both teenagers. They're keeping US busy. That's pretty much the nutshell very nice. I are you in lockdown. Are you are you considered essential services Know I'm not Because I teach I don't do clinical care I'm not essential so I'm I've been working from home kind of locked down for Just about five weeks now. So it's kind of become a new way life. Yeah I as my listeners know started a new job in February and We Are. We offer roadside assistance for RV's and automobiles and so we are considered essential but we are one hundred percent working from home so it's really weird that I've started a new like like I've now accounted. I started for retention. I'm like sixty five days into a job and like a month into it. We all went home so so I luckily with you know We have teams So you can you know. We all have cameras. Were getting to see people but Every once in a while My wife son will go dig. No that agent. I know I don't know that aged them at all so yeah. It's but I'm grateful that I'm able to work from home. Same here all right so Chris. I always like to start at the beginning so talk to me about you said you grew up in New York talking about your family. What kind of music did your family listen to? What kind of work was it? A musical childhood talked to me a little bit about that sure I grew up in the eighties and I feel like my memory of listening to music. Was My parents. Having what was called the oldies station on time And Fifties and Sixties Music Play. Do OP stuff Beatles You know kind of some seventies rock stuff Idyllic does a copy of the two copies of albums that I remember. My parents having won their stack was a copy of the. Who's Tommy and Gerry RAFFERTY's Baker Street? I feel like those are burned in. May so remember the car. A lot of that fifty doo-wop would go on Dad. Listen to that So that was sort of the you know there was always music on but that would that would be light put soundtrack to my early years. That's what I would put it too. So were you a fan of it or were you. Just that's what you listen to. I think I grew to be a fan. I remember As I got a little bit older my twenty s Some you know CDs with do up fifties music on Mississauga Number in college studying to it so it just became kind of a comfort zone for some of that stuff as I got older. Appreciate it some of the stuff. Like for example. The WHO's Tommy is is sort of a classic and you know so so there. There's some parts of it that I later recognized that they had some good taste but You know it gave me at least appreciation for what came before when you started reaching junior high and high school I take it. You've found your own John Ra- music right. What were you listening to them? So I would say probably somewhere through junior high A. would be Where I had my kind of eighty three eighty four and I was sort of all over the map. I I liked Remember you youtube in the police van Halen. I had this sort of small heavy metal side of me that that Kinda made a back in those days A grown up in in the eighties in New York City. There's a Lotta hip hop going on. So I kind of got exposure of that stuff so I was. I was really all over the map with with my musical tastes in in those days. You know what's funny is I grew up in the seventies I I was. I graduated High School in seventy seven so I was the just the maybe I guess the am sixties would be truly Am Radio but in the seventies You know the AM station was king in the small town that I grew up on My parents were all early. Fifties rock and roll like fests. Domino Bobby Darin but mostly country music And so I kind of rebelled against that going into high school loving a little bit of Kiss. loving You know the Eagles in this The seventies pop of Boston and and Manfred band and all these other. You know seventy even God help us Casey in the sunshine band all this the seventies queen pop music and it wasn't till later I came back and realized there's some beauty to Merle haggard and Hank Williams sure and you know that the whole three chords in a truth you know that I now definitely recognize the greatness of Johnny Cash You know one of our big memories was when Johnny cash was on TV on Saturday night. Leak did sit down as a family. It was not optional. You're would be on the couch watching Johnny Cash That's funny for a second. I have to talk about what you said about country music I would. I would say that the one slice of music that I felt like I just had no understanding of was country music and I am finishing up the Ken Burns documentary that they are less fall. And is this whole area. Like wow this is really cool stuff that I just just had no idea about so I really good stuff out there I I love that documentary. In fact I had Jeff Calloway who lives here in Dallas joined me and we had an episode just voted on that it. I do a lot of it because of my parents but my wife and I watched this and we are big. Ken Burns fans right like. We're GONNA love any documentary does but this one in I have a real good friend named junior who Whenever he talks about the marvel movies when someone says oh I didn't go see that and he goes no no no. It all goes together here. You have to see all of them because they all fits together and for our audience Chris and I are on video so we can see each other. I'm putting my fingers together to show weeding and the more you watch that. Ken Burns documentary. You go it. The Carter Family Jimmie Rodgers and from those two. Routes everything flowed. I'm yeah truly does all flow together to Hank Williams Johnny cash to you know on and on so It's expensive but they have a soundtrack the documentary. It's like five or six CDs and it's You could probably listen to it on spotify. It gives you a wide range of music. That was a lot of fun. So if you want to just kind of exercise your brain a little bit of for that John Rap Music. That's kind of fun to check out on school. Yeah it was a good way for the death toll in the water. Something I'd never really been exposed to and I think it's fascinating you see Marcellus. You know this jazz trumpeting talking about the beauty of country music and And how it is similar to jazz than you would have thought like Texas Swing Band and Jazz. Have more in common than you would have thought so again. I'm glad you enjoyed that. That's that's kind of cool so nice all right. So you're a little bit of hip hop a little bit of rock and roll. So when did you discover bruce so I would say probably most kids who grow up in the eighties you know I think born Born in the USA came out and blew people away. You know I had a copy of that on cassette like you know. Probably millions of other people did and played it back and forth and over and over and over and and I remember. I remember hearing this summer that that came out at some point on the radio they played born run. And I was Kinda like sounds like the Guy Bruce springsteen I just heard but not on the tape I have so. He must have a new song that come out. So I'm twelve thirteen years old. And obviously very uninformed So just add no context that this. Was you know fourth or fifth album math of somebody as opposed to a new a new artist? So I I kind of started i. I wouldn't say I'd got any of his old stuff at that point But you know just be a little more open minded to it and I I think I remember the next album I got was that live now. The three disc live album. He sure and I remember thinking it would be more stuff like born in the USA and being like it's not the radio friendly stuff at a fourteen year old. Might WanNA listen to so I would hit. Skip a couple of times and you know. Just go back listen to boy in the USA that was sort of my my gateway at the time. Well I think you are not alone. I think there are thousands if not millions of fans that will Will talk about the born in USA was a gateway and I do think sometimes Quote UNQUOTE SNOBBY SPRINGSTEEN FANS? Kinda put their nose up like ordering the USA But you know it's a frigging good album. You know it is and there is no shame in being commercial What cracks me up. Chris is When I graduated from High School in seventy seven like I said You Know Barry. Manilow Queen Boston Kiss Kiss Fan loved kiss and I happen to run across a beach boy eight track. That's how old I am called pamphlets summer. It was a collection it would..

It is every every scene scraped and that it's such a great. It's such a great movie. I don't know why. But the the William H macy scene where he's in his office and he just can't account for the vehicles and he has like GM leasing on the phone and they keep saying You need to go out and take a photograph or send us. And he's like I'll I'll put it in the fax machine right away and they're like no no that doesn't work. It didn't come out last. I'll do that much. It was yeah. "Throws it Hail Mary. He's the guy picks it off the ground and they blow it dead it's like it's now Now and it's like he's not down he somebody needs to be tackled. Someone needs to be touchdown incidental contact going up for the ball and by the way I don't even know if it's a completion first second you gotTa hold the ball and the guy falls one way. The other guy falls down and they're just blowing the whistle. Yeah he was undoubtedly contacted but he was certainly not tackled going for the catch. If if you watch the knocked in which Airlie if you if you watch it from whatever the reply angle is it's barely their hands just kind of here's the thing about the NFL l.. Andbranch back me up on this. That was actually a legal interception but that would not have been a legal catch for an offensive receiver. That's how fine in tuned. They have these rules and regulations. So if if if in fact you have to maintain the ball for a beat or two or make a foot tall Mauve you've then why are you tackled in four. You make football move you know to football move is grab the other guys helmet off with even been a flag lag in the in the sixties they would have just all right guys. Would you can watch barely touch now. Here's what I would say. If you have to make a football move to receive the ball then you have to make a football move to tackle the person so tackling them as a football move. The guy made no move at all other than he fell down over over the ball. Just going for the ball. And you have to tackle the guy if I'm the competition committee. I want that guy to take that ball out of the end zone. It's adorable. I think there's a competition competition committee. Right Hey Brad you got some Decide Business Yeah per I most certainly do look look at the holiday season..

"Corolla show Adams yesterday. Jeff Cesario with Gina Gina Grad on news bald frying on sound effects. Brad Evans gives his. NFL picks and we reveal the top. Ten Women Most disgusted to have sex sex with Adam and now a man who never skims or scrimps. Adam Corolla aw Joan need both words Zari WanNa Work Reynaud. You're talking. Yeah that's true. All right Get it on. I've got to get on a mandate. Get it on. Thanks for tuning in and thanks for telling a friend. Good Day geographically. You handballed run. I'm I'm not a biologist. Jeff ZARINA's here. We'll do some chip waterhouse coming up stuff. Talk about a bunch of the stuff but I I just had this thought I was just doing an interview with the La weekly on their podcasts and Fella Brian who was doing the interview and said you know what advice would you give to. You Know Jeff gets it. Brian never gets at Gina. Gets it on occasion. What advice would you give an up and coming sound effects? Got People What advice and the answer is of course? It's it's never advice it's just go out and get some go out and go. I basically say just work for free and gone gets them. I just attended a meeting being at endeavor. I think I don't even know where Morris Endeavor something one of those board rooms with bunch of guys we're talking about a project project and it's a Seinfeld related project and Barry Marder who's been in here is involved in in talking about producing using this thing and having my company produce it and direct and things of that nature. I'll take is more when when Moore comes out but I was driving home home and and it was. It was just one of those meetings. Where at the end of the meeting everyone? Well we don't have to go. We don't have to go to separate rooms and and to debate we're in we're in. Let's do it you know it's the best kind of meeting where you don't have to wait for the email three days later. Whatever and I said to Mike Mike and this is the tale? I'm leaving here because this is the example and this is how everyone should be. I said it Mike I I know where where did this whole berry martyr thing. Come from like I know. Now you know the guy now he seinfeld's best buddy and Seinfeld's in on this thing but we're who we're this Barry Marder stuff comes from come from and Mike Goes. I was listening to Howard Stern and I said Yeah. And he said Howard Stern was interviewing Seinfeld. Felt and I was like yeah and he said to to Jerry. Who Do you hang out with like who your friends? Who Do you talk to anyone? I talked to a guy named Barry Marder. Talk them every day and Mike went. WHO's Barry Marder? Mike's driving his truck. Mike writes down Berry mark then he gets to wherever he's going and he looks up Barry Smarter then he finds out Berry martyr lives next to him and the two look alike area and then he goes to Berry. I don't know he bangs on us when he reaches reaches out and he goes what's up like what do you WanNa do. What do you got and then bury martyr does what everyone does where they go? I got this stuff and I got that stuff up because you don't know it but everyone's wants that going to facilitate how you GonNa do this thing for me. And then he gets. I got a From stories from nut or letters from a nut he gets a letter from a nut and Mike goes good. Let's put it up on its feet make a live show out of it next thing. We know they're doing it and Blah Blah Blah. And the next thing you know you're sitting in a meeting about producing this thing with Seinfeld and Barry Marder and whatever it is and you're getting the not that's how it works. People don't get that they. It's like hey no no. It's not it's who you get to know your willing to introduce deuce yourself there. Yeah it's down right and that incidentally berry martyrs one of the few impressions I do. It's really let me think what was with them in our go. Oh my God Janisch. A menu of the new denny's menu was very accurate. They have pictures applies on pictures of the food. God Gosh that's not a bad impression. I literally was a one hour meeting with the man an hour ago. And that is dead nuts on you. Try that front of some of my family family members. You're going to hear crickets going. Hold and just open with that on stage now. Thirty three years to crack room and the right time to do your very martyr personnel. So it does. It's dead nuts. What he sounds like but and and I know he's been on? The show was literally sitting next to him while he was sounding exactly like that. Because you've got hopefully this project will be huge and then you can use used to be it'd be like an snl like a black SNL cast member when the president became bladder. And you go. Oh Com something to do. I'LL BE DAVID FRY to Barry Martyrs. Nixon that's right. It'll be awesome so so people people like who who you know how you know how did you know or oh. There's a lot of like people also do. A lot of serendipity like Oh this found your lamp in what if what if you'd showed up at Berries House and he'd had a stroke earlier in the day wasn't able to answer the door and it's like I get it. Yeah that's on the tail the point. Hi this is Mike. August was just listening to a radio. Show heard a name that he'd never heard before. And when I'm going to go track this person down on in next thing you know you're sitting in Highfalutin meeting with him and talking about doing projects. Okay that's how it that's how it works. That's how life works our body. I don't know why you WanNa take some other reminds me. I always sort of get back to like Diet and exercise the reason so many. See those books sal and so many snack wells sal and diet right sal and sugar-free Blah Blah Blah is an and seven minute workout routines and all the reasons are all bestsellers. Because everyone's doing I wanna do everything but what works. I wanted to do everything but the work. But Howard our. Please tell me the shortcut to getting into this meeting. Please tell me this shortcut to losing way. Please tell me the way to exercise without sweating or actually exercising. I think and they sell millions of books and ideas and people are spoon at the eager. They're spoon fed this notion. It's kind of dangerous to them because then they think that that well the only reason these guys are in that meeting is because somebody got lucky. And I'm not so now I must sit at home and wait to get lucky right. or it's because of someone's dad or who they know or the color of their skin or any other sexual proclivities. It's not it's just going out and hustling it. It up and the message and we have a lot of adages of like he was born on third base. Dot triple you know or to you know or you know. Screw that guy before he screws you or whatever it is most of them. Don't work the only thing that works is sort of Diet and exercise. That's what Mike was applying. He was applying diet. An exercise and no promises could have been a nice nice waste of his life. Mike you have to be willing to have a bunch of Zeros. The curtains going to open Jay's going to be sitting on a donkey and you're gonNA.

"I am amazed at how many Americans are wired this way especially because it all behooves them. I get the part where people travel with their dog on a fucking commercial flights. They WANNA travel with their dog and they don't feel like paying the afraid or whatever I get that part of this doesn't help you. This is some kind of weird prize mixed with this sort of base stupidity pitted and people always trying to figure out what smart who's smart who's dumb well. We can talk about doing math in your head or memorizing capitals but I call this this dumb. This is pissing off people that earn a position to help you. That's why why is it ramp. Why so many people infected with yeah. I think I think you're you're correct. That's what I was going to say. There's something about it because they're asking you for favor where they're kind of. They feel like they're in the one down position and they have to balance their own. I don't know it the prize about humbling yourself to ask a favor they can't they can't handle those feelings too uncomfortable self office teams not good enough to just understand. It doesn't affect a dominant submissive. Sexual relationship is just you asking someone for something thing that you would like right and trying to be pleasant about it so yeah emotionally. We're fucked. That's the reason I'm going pretty much crystallizes things about Smith qualities about how many people just pissed off cops like the simpsons used talk about what you're interacting with a cop. You're on your subject down yeah. I was saying that someone earlier today when it's like why are so many people getting into the cops. The person said you gotTa look at them. It's a law enforcement. I said I don't look them. As law enforcement I look at him as the one person in this conversation who has a gun behind Behar's all well off the ground that one person has a gun. That's that person then. There's me if I run into someone in the street street or by the I don't care if pulled over. I don't care if it's a cop or not. If you got the gun I shall be respectful to you. This for this interaction deferred a year judgments. The best you can do is shoot yourself in the foot. He can actually shoot right. He is if you run into someone on the sidewalk and they have a gun and they'd like see some id you you may show it to them. Yeah I have done it. I mean I've done something that was probably I shouldn't have. I remember the ace awards my God. That's how far back it was. with showtime done a special. I was nominated for best writing of a special and when the late great rich Jenny was also with showtime and he had had a big special vessel was nominated for in they had yes and they had like five billboards on sunset and I'm barely exaggerating and I kept driving down sunset going they they couldn't they couldn't put me in a corner of billboard nominee to two so then. I wound up winning the award for best writing and I gave an acceptance captain speech and and then at the end. I said you know I'd like to thank showtime and hopefully next time they'll have a little more money to throw my way or some some dumb ass shoot yourself in the foot kind of thing and and I went. Why did I do that why I been awfully quiet from showtime Jeez. They don't seem to be call. Call anywhere I just thought to myself. I wanted to be brash a little bit you know an because that can sometimes be rewarded in this industry and I don't have the Moxie to pull off Brash if I may use those two in the same sentence greatest name for quarterback ever in a badge nineties movie moxie fascist taking torn Laura Taylor hanging out of his shoulder joint oh brother that can have his work as a scene where he gets under center and he's like Omaha Blue Blue Twenty two and then he looks and sees the empty seat imitator Paul worst to address the Bluebonnets so yeah wait you did. I think everyone is guilty of doing and I've done before taking a shot at or whatever I'm I'm saying direct interactions where you're like asking somebody for something kind of insulting them simultaneously or or whatever it is you're doing. You're making them not want to do that thing that you want them to do. They must not really want to do it. People take well if they're asking. Hey for a client. There's got to be some passive aggressive. My Dad did want a free car but he also has bad wiring won't take direction from a son is what he didn't want yeah but he did. That's why the second time he said I'm I'm not even parking the CRV around the corner driving it right in his funk in front door. He did draw first blood by driving over in the first play yeah now anyway. Everyone who's proud everyone is proud. Knock it off and look at me. I have so much to be proud of and even I am. I'm not proud wait a minute. What did I just do Zubi here. I love this guy so he's the guy he's got a well. He's singlish. He's a rapper and he did. I think he set the dead lift record women's that lift raft record by denting inspecting it which I thought was super funny guys see that in the news a few restaurants you back. I think a few months back. I like March but he's wrong. Duke Record is five twenty eight. He identified as a woman and then beat that and he also beat the bench press reps record as well. I'll be interested interested in talking to him about that because I do think were all four transgender everything but at a certain point when you're beaten everyone in a foot race or boxing match. It's starting to get over. It Skis a little pet when you winning this Gagen agent what I'm saying is if you're four women's rights and you are then what about the women who just got smoked by the former dude who's now identifying unifying as a woman and what about the rights don't they get to go to the next year so Zubi. GonNa kind of come in here and do we have that video. You must have that video somewhere Jeff's Osario once again recording his first ever al at the Acme Acme Comedy Club that'll be September twenty six th through the twenty eighth and that's in Minneapolis and all the way by the way Zubi the I don't know I I don't know if he just hit me on twitter. Somebody hit him on twitter. Whatever and it said you should go on and Adam show and I said yeah you should in in here. He is so kind of I think everyone bags on social media lot but in the right hands it's not such a bad weapon and you know what I mean like. Pl No absolutely will hit me up and go. Andrew Yang should be on your show and I go yes should be on the show and Zubi it should be on your show and I go yes he should and then it gets back to Zubi and then hopefully Andrea Angle coming here. It's it can be it can work that way. Exactly you're Larry David David but in this case your Larry David Yes all right so Zubi is gonNA lift. What five five twenty eight dead left yeah? Oh I haven't anyway. He's a strong man in-interesting man and we'll Oh let me hit pat. Let me have Castro and then we'll speak speak to him. "You know what I mean and you're trying to do that. Move where you go you know for the last quarter-mile. I'm going to pick up the pace a secure. There's no anxiety they're not thinking about. It and you know worried about anything and it's a cliche for a reason why people like you know what. I gotTA GET OUTTA here. I need to go on a walk and clear my head had you're going on a walk to clear your head but if you sort of what let's think about it like let's go okay. You have anxiety. Let's puts you in a position where you will be least likely to have anxiety so you know. I always say if you're being chased by Kodiak bear. Where will you have anxiety answers. No I'll be. I'm being chased by Kodiak Barra. Your fears are pretty immediate and concrete. You're sitting alone in traffic in your car. Will you have anxieties. Yes okay when you're going nuts on the rowing machine. Will you have anxiety no I'll be sweating and breathing and work in and whatever okay okay so let's see how much time you can spend not sitting in your car and traffic and how much time you can spend running. That trailer on your mountain by calling asks asks down that tricky trail since you don't have it. We've established. You don't have it when you're on the mountain bike. You do have it when you're sitting in traffic so let's do some simple math no pales- els. I tell you what to do with your anxiety just more time in that position where you don't have it versus positions where you do have it yeah well. I mean things like anxiety and even depression to a degree. Are you know they're linked to comfort comfort and you know things in the modern Western world. It's like so many people have become so detached from. I guess what you could call our our natural state to. You know let it's not no. It's it's considered. It's now normal but it's not normal to sit down for. I don't know how or fourteen hours a day or to walk less than two thousand steps a day or two drive everywhere to be eating all these processed food. I it's so far removed from the natural human state and the state of all these other animals that it's kind of like well. It's not that surprising that people are feeling anxious or depressed or whatever it is because everything you're consuming coming everything you're putting in your body and your own behavior is. Can you know it's conductive to that bird. Break Out of comfort is really one of the worst things you you can do for people over a sustained period of Time Comfort for Oh. There's air conditioning and it's hot outside. I'm going to come into the air. air-conditioning sort of temporary comfort is good long. Sustained Comfort doesn't help anybody. I think it ruins kids. Ruins adult is the Cliche of whether rockstars fade away. You know they're hungry. Young and hungry call it up and running and then you've got a mansion a pool whatever right so now what's I've always been talking about in a world where you know when I was a kid a Taco Bell TACO was practically free. It was cheap. It's free and Gas gas was seventy five cents or bucks a gallon. Now gas is four bucks a gallon. The TACO Bell Taco still free like it. It really hasn't moved price price wise. I mean look you can say that way. You can talk about anything you want but at Taco Bell Taco is one fourth worth the price of a starbucks cup of coffee or a good smoothie or whatever it's it's literally a quarter the price of it and the company makes a lot of money so do do profitability you are going to be pulled via the siren song toward the Taco felt like there is no doubt there's no doubt when you're walking past that place and you get a sniff of whatever I mean. There is no doubt and it is not not about. Do you have access to it anymore because it's it's practically free. It's twenty four seven and someone can even bring it to your house so we are all going to have to be the wardens of our own prisons from now on we used to when I was a kid I was in. A prison is in with a warden meaning. I didn't have money. No one was going to take me to the Taco Bell McDonald's treat. That's for you know. After you win the football all championship nine you may go to McDonald's it is not it is not acceptable and I didn't have to exercise any self control. It was imposed upon me. I had no money no transportation no choice yeah all right now. It's open for everybody and a lot of people people are making bad choices. They're not being their own warden. Y- The game game warden prison more and whatever they're not looking at they're not that being their own custodian and now you see kids walking around. I mean remember. I'm quite a bit older than you are but when I was in junior I I you know when I was in grade school. There was like one fat kid. I mean one. I went to a public school. K through six her. The name was Allah and we I knew remember because surname was Asia was ally you smell and you have a Bella like a bowl full of jelly no yeah yeah. I'm sure she killed herself some years later but the point is they're like. I knew the names of the too fat people in my entire junior high yeah thousands of kids even even when I got to high school there four kids that were fat. You walk down the street now and they school. lets out your daughter order plumper going going down that go on so we are at a crossroads where no one's going to do. We're not we're. We're not confined like I was like. I couldn't get fat if I wanted to because I didn't have any money and I had to run everywhere and there was no fast food for me to get and all that now you're going to have to control yourself and somebody you're. GonNa have to impose it on yourself and we're not getting that message across. I think that's it's kind of a good metaphor for a sort of a lack of you know kind of shift in people's attitudes towards personal responsibility and in wider wider society eighty so that that's one of them but I think that sort of same mentality and idea of people exerting their own self discipline goes kind kind of across the board now you can watch ten hours of Internet porn every night. If you want if you want. I mean we're we're there where it's all there and we're going to have to shift from. I'll take as much of I can whenever I can too. I'm going to keep walking even though it's free or accessible or twenty four seven I and that's a tough transition condition to make and that's why I think people been struggling with that transition for the for the first time ever in human recorded history we are it's not it's a choice now and it wasn't a choice before. I think the big shift. Is You know the problem. Now is overabundance rather than burke in in many cases you know there are still problems that stem from lack whether you're talking about certain levels of relative poverty homelessness things like that those stem from generally lack but you know overeating is a much bigger problem in the modern. Western world then you know no one pretty much. Nobody's dying of starvation or malnutrition. The much vicar problem is there's too much. There's too much food. The portions are too big. Everything has got too much sugar too much salt too much fat and that's really bizarre especially. Actually you know if you look at the world sort of a global on a global level or you kind of go back and look in history and that's a really really new thing. This is like the first time that this is really well. We're basically saying never thought of it. This way but what we're basically saying to our citizens is there aren't going to be any more cops or jails. You're going to be in charge of whether you take things or steal or hurt somebody so you're gonNA have to do the right. We need a bunch of good citizens to pull this off now because does in the past there was just there wasn't a choice meaning now. Everyone's got enough money. Everyone has access to everything everyone can. Dan make bad choices and we're not really going to be able to police it. Everyone's GonNa have to police themselves every now. The good news is we'll be living in utopia if everyone polices themselves. Yes we won't need cops. We won't need prisons but again. That's going to take some. That's GonNa take good parenting and a good society. 'cause we got a raise little soldiers screws that. I know that have that in them and we're getting further earn further away from it and I think with Zubi saying we all agree on is none of it is it's its own compartment. It all all folds into everything that died to exercise self-discipline determination and whatever and you can physically express that on a daily basis by working working out and then that'll carry into everything else also I will say this. You work out hard. You're less likely to WANNA fuck. Get up with shitty food to have that it's like I don't know I'm less likely to take a shit after I shower. Look I y three going. uh-huh gone never shower. Oh how dare you how dare I during the summer months when the pool gets warm warm I take a try. You Take Your Shit. You've talked about like overweight kids. Maybe think like how our standards have changed. Justice is the mid eighties I was thinking about. Chunk from. The goonies never talked about that. I was thinking about Jerry O'CONNELL's character. Um stand by ME I. They were the fat kids in the group. I think Chris they were. Those are the fact the group they are by. Today's standards mildly Chubby perfect made like a little bit about what's his name from Jabs job he was he was an outcome on that. That's what I look like as a kid. That's what got me into working out. You know it's interesting knows me. All funny. I have felt was fat. I'm in a good neighbourhood with good dads and all my son's friends. Not One of 'EM's heavy they're not allowed to do the shit that they would get away with if dad was in Florida fucking twenty three year olds yeah there is there is an element here where it's going to be tough if the kids are in charge. You're going to need that. SORTA parental involvement is well. Can I tell you how good the neighbors how good my neighborhood is. I got a concerned earned email from one of the dads saying he'd heard my son didn't make the basketball team and was concerned for for him what he might try it again. No news is concerned for the team and and that Ed how do you respond to that and that he may kidding enjoy mountain biking. Oh and he was the dad who coached the mountain counting biking teams and that Sonny was a good kid bike till year and a half ago. Well look quick learner he he rides. This is bike around. The Dad said if I will take him you know I mean. I'm not going to buy a five hundred. Maybe you pay for it. I'll take him to the mountain in bike store. I will get him set up and he can join us because he's a good kid and and I thought to myself guys better dad to my son I am. I can only only on son so but I start when you're surrounded with that. Your chances are so much better then deadbeat then Dennis Rodman's Dad's. It's interesting. I mean that's one. That's actually touches on something you you mentioned which is I can't remember where I read. Read this summer have been in Warren Farrell's book the boy crisis but they say that you know as as you know if you look at stats when it comes to certain things like dropout about rates or criminal behavior and whatnot especially amongst young boys and young men how much of a role having a present father plays in that but but it's not only just the boy's own father it's also community. It's also the number of fathers in the community sure in an in general that plays into it which which is shown so if there's a community anywhere maybe even okay that particular boy doesn't or girl doesn't have their father present but in the wider community there lots of DADS and father figures out there then that helps a lot whereas if it's a community where just generally lots of the fathers men are missing then that has like a sort of doubly double negative impact which is I found really interesting. We're good at least sunny as a father figure in the Community Dr Warren Farrell Yeah I was in in March. Ah Yes well if you you just do a basic math which is all right so my son benefits from me and then he also benefits from this other a good dad in a in a positive way now. Let's remove me and remove him well. He's not GonNa get me or him and then you do at times the whole community nitty yeah. I was watching that thirty for thirty with Dennis Rodman and he realized that Guy's Dad never knew him head twenty five kids Ed's My Guy Doug. That's one busy mom I don't. I don't think ten different different yeah. I don't Think People Foley believe me when I say I went that guy punished like I don't. I don't think you're allowed just to scatter kids across the land endeavor take care of them by the way they ended up stabbing people sometimes sometimes and and worse even so why shouldn't you have some responsibility..
