Fresh update on "cardinals" discussed on One Bills Live
"In the streets. I'll take three and one with that slate, you know? Yeah, to go in. Go through that first really half of the season are almost half of the season with one losses would be huge and We knew. I could see it coming down the tracks like a freight train that He's going to be two stretches in this In this season. They're going to be really tough. Rams Raiders Titans chiefs all of which, who have yet to lose a game, and then you play the Jets again, which whatever you're talking about, you know, we just had a true false of where the Jets would be the number one pick in the draft. Then you go. Patriots. Seahawks Cardinals Chargers. That's our two stretches that are really rough. And then after the charges, you got no Niners, the Steelers, the Broncos and the Patriots again. Yeah, it's a tough, tough schedule. The top the most difficult schedules in the National Football League are had by the A F C East teams, the Patriots, the Bills, the Jets and the Dolphins. And the only reason the bills at the bottom of this because the bills don't play themselves. We're a harder game for the Dolphins and Jets, and the bills have and you against those tests, and you would hope with the finding out about their own team right now. This will be a better bill's team come mid October late October or early November. I mean everybody else is finding their footing, too. But if the bills could stack some wins here early and then really hit a groove. Midway through We'll be talking about.

"Other you know the other team three times and took six sacks when people were wide open I I don't see that happening though I, really don't it could and I'm concerned let me be clearness. I don't think Dwayne Haskins is going to be an elite quarterback in this league through starts that would be a bet that I would actually feel safe making. Also would feel pretty safe making a bet that he's going to be a starting quarterback for a while. Now, where you can it be in that twelve to sixteen range I think it can be if he ends up being the back half of the league starting quarterback do you really want that? No, you don't. You'd have to consider moving on from that But you're not gonNA find out if he's in that range that I think he can get to twelve to sixteen after nine starts. That's for sure. I agree and while last year, he's not a rookie. So he has the benefit of those starts those seven games he started last season but last season was such a mess. It was such a chaotic disaster that any and. You almost have to you can't hold any. You can't hold anything that happened last year against him you have to almost like judge him. GOING FORWARD THIS YEAR So I mean in a way I said my calm that the cardinals are a year ahead of where the Washer. For team might like to be come next season. The big difference is they have a real different sites at the most important position, but I'm talking about the relationship between the coach, the offense and the quarterback. The cardinals are a year ahead of where Washington would like to be at this point. Now what about again, my? dwayne has been a standup guy so far saying all the right things nugget the stupid immaturity that we saw from him last year he didn't Tom Not tweeted at all after the US. So the tasks would be for him if he has a bad first half. And and Ron Rivera benches of just a half. What would his reaction be to that? You know knowing that it would. I'm not saying it would cost him his job but those situations come up. He'd go from the League done messed up to the coach done messed up we might we might get that on so. Know I mean. I don't think you will I don't think you will I think that he has a different mentality. and. I think Ron Rivera's presence. Is So far early on in a glimpse that we've got. Is enough to keep the owner at day when it comes to screwing around with his football team. I think that's true I think that's true All right Let me quickly tell you about magic spoon because this is actually something I'm excited to tell you about spoon is kind of cereal I. Think I mentioned to you Tommy Awhile back I've been eating a lot of cereal during the pandemic on my rediscover rediscovered some sugar cereals like captain crunch, which weren't necessarily healthy for me. But my God captain crunch what a great cereal captain crunches, but I've been eating a lot of cereal and I got sent magic spoon cereal. prior to reading this spot because, I, m into cereal and I've always been into serial. I'll eat cereal dry like I'll just pick from a cereal box. You know during the day if I'm just snacking I know that the the high sugar cereals that's not healthy and that's where magic spoon comes in zero sugar eleven, grams of protein and only three net grams of carbs each serving their four flavors I got sent all four of the flavors cocoa, fruity frosted, and Blueberry I. Loved the Blueberry and I love the chocolate, the cocoa they were they were amazing. It really tastes great. It tastes like.

"I just wanted to mention a couple of things real quickly that Cooley mentioned yesterday on the podcast if you missed his breakdown and my breakdown collectively on the game yesterday that's still available and I apologize we got out late we had some technical issues, but we got it at a little bit later than we wanted anyway The worst throw dwayne made was that third and two on the first drive of the second half when Cam Sims got called for holding back and watch that that is a terrible throw. Dwayne airmailed that thing by four to five feet. That's a west coast third and to Joe Montana, rolling out throwing an easy conversion moved chains throw to to Jerry Rice I mean John Taylor I. Mean that's that's that's that's what you see and Dwayne isn't even close on that. Throw it. Wouldn't have mattered because there was offensive pin Cam Sims but that was a bad throat I also sort of upon further review went back and watched the three drive in which they scored. I thought Dwayne was pretty effective. You know yes they went to quick game it helped a lot. There was also some dropback during that drive as well. There's the third one Sims Junior which was a huge play a for them and a really really good throw by Dwayne, that ultimately led To Touchdown you know that was the when when they challenged the twelve men on the field on situation that they had and that led to keeping that drive alive and they ended up scoring as well. I thought he was pretty sharp. You know he had a couple of good throats inman. He had a couple of throws that were dropped maclaurin dropped the ball that was catchable. In cooley said it was thrown too hard and felt. The to Gibson was too hard as well but he did drop those right in the proverbial bucket with dimes I thought he was much better in the second half Ron Rivera said yesterday that he's going to fast that he's thinking too quickly that he is seeing things he is reading things well, but he's essentially chalking up some of the inaccuracy in lack of touch to him hurrying too much and being too excited I think that that's something that you're hearing from the coach means that they like some of the things that he's doing, and this is something that they that they think can get fixed if he can just slow his brain down a little bit by the way, I don't know that that's necessarily what I see. I see terrible footwork and lack of touch at times but maybe it is because his brain is going to quickly. But the fact that Rivera implied that he is seeing things the right way in making the right. Reads is a good sign. He also said about Dwayne Look we've put a lot on him. We've put a lot on him and it's just his second game in this system, and he also said the same thing about trap about two guys that didn't play much last year I thought those were interesting comments. He also had a comment about the time outs thing at the end of the game which will get to a little bit later on but Tommy hasn't had a chance to weigh in on Sundays game. What did you think? Well let me to start out reading from the beginning of my call. which you can read on Washington. Times. Dot Com. Slash Sports. Well. You can read it if you don't have an Antifa blocking device like Kevin. His that prevents reading. Length, no, I have to pay for it now I, have to pay for now. I've I've I've I've read too many of your columns in a month and I now have to pay for it but go hell you know it's pennies but anyway, go ahead. I. Here's the beginning. It's a quote from a movie familiar with a lot of holes in the desert and a lot of problems are buried in those home. You GotTa do it right I mean you gotTa have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. All Nikki. Nikki Nikki Santoro. Nineteen ninety-five. Then, I wrote did anyone think Washington football wasn't gonNA wind up in a hole in the desert. On SONA to play the cardinals and that quarterback Kyle, Murray wouldn't have the whole already doug. I mean that was it. It was collar Murray. You know. I mean he he just he was the difference maker in the whole game they just couldn't contain him whatever game plan they had and I. Don't know how you know if anyone has can I have an effective game plan of dealing with him? I mean look at the receiver he has. Yes Larry. Fitzgerald at Hopkins I mean that's just unbelievable. Comey compared to the Washington receivers. You know we don't know anything about I. Mean This guy. Has One Hall Sure Hall of Famer and another potential hall of Famer on the other side of the field. No he has to he has to hall of famers. De'andre Hopkins is going to be a hall of Famer. He may already with the career he's had already hall of Famer. You're right. You're right. And, so and you have a quarterback in the second year of working in system with his new coach they're together working all last year and now they're in the second year. So you saw the progress of all of that. I mean I don't know anyone who expected them that Gopi the cardinals and Arizona. I certainly did Oh, I. Think a lot of people were were, as you said, curious on Friday, but I think a lot of people had high expectations for the result. That was that was foolish. I thought I never expected them to win it. I didn't expect them to beat the Eagles I would consider that a gift after the first game, but eagles that turns out may not be as good. As we think they were So I think a lot of it had to with with just the inability to deal with Kyle. Murray as far as Twain it's concerned. I didn't have a big problem with the way he played I thought for the most part Again, he did he had a fumble on the sack, but he didn't throw an interception for the second week in a row. He didn't make it easy for the other team you know to to win with field position? I think you. The Limited. Weapons that had a big fumble. Big Fumble grads to that. But you know he was thunder dress a lot of the game because he hasn't had much of an offensive line and Brandon Sheriff went out injured during the game. So I think you didn't see anything from Dwayne that would make you think he can't play quarterback in this league and you gotta Ron Rivera's right they are so early in their relationship and developing. Rivera offense, the Scott Turner in in a short preseason, only the second week of the regular season. That there's going to be a lot of growing pains along the way,.

NFL Injury Report: Week 2
"Receiver Chris Godwin isn't concussion protocol. George Kittle has been rolled out. George Kendall. Hi. Did you see his need bent in a really strange when he came back and finished that game in that loss against the Cardinals? He was just ruled out, so I don't think it's on your hot list. Okay. What else do we see Anything else of note? I saw it last night, The Bangles tied and CJ Zuma. Zuma has a torch Achilles. He's out for the season cold. Starting, Jack Doyle is out against the Vikings. Jamison Crowder for the Jets is out against the 40 Niners. As you mentioned Adam, the Lions have ruled out Kenny Golladay. Cornerback Desmond Trufant and guard Joe Doll. Free money Packers No tackle Kenny Clark is out for lions. I got to tell you, I think that the injury reports are lighter than I thought they'd be after one week, especially with no training camp, but

MLB: Recent Game Scores
"Well, the phillies just choked away their lead against the mets they've now lost that's a final. They had a four one lead on the mets they lose five four nice job by the phillies tonight. So they blew it and they were up five one or. Four one they were up, they were up for one. degrom left the game after the second inning. He got hurt. Wheeler. Pitching into the eighth. Couple batters too many for him. And the mets then win it with a run the top of the ninth and Diaz close it out in the bottom of the ninth. Right. So I both ends of the cardinals brewers hit the cardinals for doing game one brewers nothing in game two. The Orioles evidently beat. They be called hamels tonight. That's what happened. Was He got lit up. Lit Up. Hamels yields three runs in his debut a five one loss. He gave up three runs in the third and that was it. He got the loss. So did I not call that today on Costa goes like oh? God. Here we go. With this guy, they brought him out of the addict. Yeah he's going to be a big big boost them for the postseason. Remember that. I. was telling the other night. You know they're really count on him to give him something in the postseason. Come on. I won't tonight a guy at a pretty good career, right? You can't. Early that year that goes you're the phillies won the world series. He was unbelievable. That year was the world series. MVP. If I remember correctly said royals four nothing, the Tigers mets five, four of the phillies the as beat the rockies three one, I hit that game the nationals over the race for two Yankees. Again, they've scored thirty three runs into games they won thirteen to two tonight. What did they do in that game? Should 49ers be worried about Super Bowl hangover?
"Super bowl hangover thing it's talked about a fair bit and I'll have to bring it next time on. But I've tweeted about it before and and noted that the team loses the Super Bowl auction has huge trouble making the playoffs the next year Then that's the super bowl loser not the winner. So outside of the New England, Patriots who bounced back off that Philadelphia lost that we were both there for in Minneapolis and beat the rams the next year usually look at the rams last year out of the playoffs look. The Falcons the year after they blew the twenty eight three lead out of the Playoffs Carolina hasn't won a playoff game since they were super bowl loser. So you double back over time you see it a lot. I wasn't expecting the forty niners and I'm still not to miss the playoffs. But what what's being asked to them in the NFC west where I think the best three teams are that will finish one, two, three, NFC, the AFC may change my mind about that if either of the Ohio teams steps up in his really good they both lost yesterday. In different circumstances but I think this is the only division that can necessarily happened in some people like the NFC north I should point out because they liked the lions but we saw what transpired with him yesterday. So it's GonNa be a tough decision to win games in that, and that's one of the forty niners are really really gonNa want back and for Jimmy Garoppolo non no interceptions but there was just nothing exceptional about his play yesterday and we saw a lot more check down as well to to Mostert than than we wouldn't necessarily expected look you. Also take George Kit off the field, and that's a factor and a needs to get talked about and discussed that he had to play a good chunk of the game a game they end up losing by four points at home, and he had to play good chunk of the without George cadle do that to the cardinals take the Andrei also field for for a couple of possessions and Arizona struggled a lot more than
Washington Football Team alone atop the NFC East after Week 1
"Think about it. Brazilian. Everyone is needed to be this year and the Washington football team certainly was yesterday on early deficit did not lead to defeat instead 27 17 1 of the Eagles and Head Goat's Rod Rivera. We showed that we can play with the best team in the NFC East and reform. Sure to come out on top, but our guys both their next when they had to wear down 17 nothing, they responded, and it just kept fighting and talk about fight. While Rivera received a scheduled ivy treatment, part of his cancer battle, Dwayne Haskins delivered a halftime speech Must the more of the speech Wass. You know, we're home where the home teams is our house and we're killing ourselves something that they did that really stopped us and the defense stop. The Eagles. Ryan character had two of the teams eight sacks. We expected to come out and make plays and lot of productive dudes in this room and I was If I were able to show that showcase that a little bit today, Yeah, productive dudes and Kerrigan now the franchises all time sacks leader with 92. Pasic, Dexter Manley. Up Next, the Cardinal's
Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions Injury Report: Montgomery and Mack questionable, Quinn doubtful
"Opener Detroit It looks like the absence of linebacker Robert Quinn the past. Russia hasn't practiced all week due to an ankle issue listed as doubtful on the injury report. That Maggie, not shedding a whole lot of light on it. Today was asked, however, is frustration. A good word on Quinn's part when it comes to how he's trying to deal with his latest injury. Frustration, pride. Good word. I know you know how how Robert is as a person when you just know who he is. He's He's pretty laid back, but he's he's old school till you know he's really old school in his mentality of how he approaches things now questionable on the report includes running back David Montgomery, getting over the groin injury did practice fully today at Palace. Although Friday's before Sunday game days usually scaled down somewhat. And linebacker Khalil Mack is questionable because of a knee injury. Meanwhile, the Lions list their top receiver Kenny Gala Day, doubtful to go on Sunday as in practice at all this week. Because of a hamstring injury. "cardinals" Discussed on Niners Nation
"What was it? I got my head don't. You can probably guess this just based off of how much we make fun of Kyle for this I mean I imagine it was a run up the middle of the and It was a two yard run seven of the. Same thing I'm GonNa go most incident calm. But I think it's GONNA be a run up the middle for like three yards I. So I don't know who's I imagine most or would start but I just WanNa. See the forty niners reaction when Moster trots onto the field of I play is going to be like this big sigh of relief this rejoice. To? Bring Colton to run the ball. Oh, man. Now it'd be tough. Imagine that if if most actually starts a series and they just throw every time and the next series Coleman comes out and they hand the off, our would be like an EPA try and an when I hope he kind of actually does that now I kind of do too I, I would love the entertainment but is there anything else we need to touch on before we wrap this bad boy up. Now Man I. So both Samuel posted a little hide video this morning that indicate that maybe he got the positive word from his doctor. I didn't. He had a little minute video on instagram. Forget what his caption was, but it was like, Ooh, okay like. What are we doing? Yeah. Yeah. I mean. So the niners had an off-day today no media availability. So they had no reason announce anything. We'll find out tomorrow on Wednesday. So I was like okay. May maybe deal was planned but other than that that's great though that's a that's big time. So I imagine that had his reaction had a lot to do with what the news he received. So it's I mean if that's the case it's or it's up. Eight and I you and Samuel have not practiced together, which is unreal to me that the two best series series on the team, a light like they will be but the two receivers on the team have not had a chance like play off each other or anything. So they're going to have a few days do that but I think. Seeing him on the saying those two on the field of the same time it's going to be pretty exciting. So I'm looking forward to man I am Kyle. Posey, you can follow me on twitter at KP underscores show us where can we find you if I'm in twitter at a caution of a K. S. H.? N.. A.. V.. Thank. You for listening. We will be back to. Recap Week one, forty, nine, win. Hopefully our predictions yeah hopefully is over A. Rooting for the cardinals because he's that's right are. I'd need like a back door cover at the end of the game. We ever do those where it's like the games like it's like a ten point game you're like please score to. Get the team team to cover cover the point so I. It's going to be one of those, but it's exciting betting on football game fun just because it added a little extra to feel like you're you are preaching to the choir here. Thanks for listening. We will be back next Wednesday go..
"cardinals" Discussed on Niners Nation
"And you know originally when the schedule came out most most fans will pay like game. It's GonNa be it's GonNa be a cakewalk now Cam Newton. They got their. Start on on defense but if got Bilbao Jack, Josh mcdaniels. Cam. Newton and that's going to be tough game going You know from West to East I think it's a one, twenty, five starts. So it's not like it's not a ten embodied body clock game, but then they gotta travel again cross country Seattle a week after so that stretches difficult to me most fans I, feel like the taken us. Slight. If you say they're gonNA go ten and six or seven five. It's difficult to win twelve thirteen fourteen games in the NFL year even if you have a good roster. Just, the injuries, just a game to game season to season variation it's tough for teams to replicate the performance at the did last year So I would imagine somewhere around there I think Levin wins is probably good enough to win this division just the division is so tough and I think everyone's going to split those games. But I yeah. Eleven and five where I would feel comfortable with. Yet. So I'm bouncing back and forth between eleven and twelve wins as well, and we talked about this before we came on, it's not going to be this cakewalk season by any means. So you mentioned that little stretch of the the stretch of the schedule that is very, very difficult. So nine of their past eleven games are nine of their last eleven games for the forty niners their against potential playoff team. So even after that that Rams Game Out Final Ram game, you mentioned they play the bills who yes it will be at home I. Believe it's a Monday night game, but the bills are very, very good defense in one of the. Teams in the NFL. So after the bills get a week against Washington, which is great, but then they have to go. Face. The cowboys on the Road Division on the road against the cardinals there. Yeah. It is a sign that you're right divisional game on the road against the cardinals and then they finish out the season against the seahawks. So it's I just don't think it's going to be this thirteen and three fourteen into that everybody thinks going to happen and it'll be like a cruise control on the way to the Super Bowl that just doesn't seem plausible to me at all I. do think that they are going to win i. think that most of these games are going to be entertaining and just heart attack games like last year but it'll be it'll be exciting and it'll be fun now keep. The blue the blood pressure man and will be very high this year. So I'm GonNa go twelve wins just because I, think that's why I've been out all season but I man I would not argue anybody if they said no eleven or even ten because you can make arguments because you know there's there's going to be stretches and lows it's it's just so tough to get up every game we saw that Vulcans last year ads he's. Not Having, sport works. Let's go ahead now going GonNa say the other thing is you know this season they have legitimate expectations last no one expected shit. So it was really easy for them to just you know play that card and go out and you know play that way whereas this year they're going to get every teams best shot right and it's going to be a lot heavier to carry that sort of a burden week tweet but just continuing with this season predictions going through bedding lines this week and I want some I have some regular season props I wanted to ask you Jimmy Garoppolo passing yards over under it's thirty nine hundred right now. I would say over just like. This what did he have last year? Didn't you have right around? Yeah. Yeah. So so yeah, I would go over just because I'd imagine he's going to have the opportunities to make plays. Downfield. Just with. Having, a legitimate deep threat in. For the for the majority of the season like assuming he stays healthy or as yet. Emmanuel. Sanders somebody that you can count on opposite of deebo Samuel. So another year of Depot Samuel I you quote unquote healthy. Trent Taylor were assuming that he's healthy and then you know you have that possession dying Kendrick born and whatever anybody else gives you. Obviously, you know if you get anything from. Sherry but you know we're going to believe that when we see it yet. So I I believe I would go over there just because I I just have a hard time believing his numbers will go will be worse than last year. Okay, and then over under twenty six and a half touchdowns. The, it's going to be right man. That's a great vegas every great. So last year he was twenty seven and thirteen right houses. Yeah Man. So the question is really going to be will his touchdowns come in bunches? The. Cardinals Saints Type Games where he's throwing at three three and four because it'll be tough and saying that will have those games where he's going like one zero, zero two. So man I I would you can't push twenty six and a half so. I mean, I'll I'll say over and I'll say he gets twenty seven again I'd go over to the head you know the Baltimore game was a monsoon game the Washington game monsoon get spare He's also caroline was a blow out like. He has all these gains where he's being pulled in the fourth quarter. So that's a fair I would I would think over on twenty six and a half thirty would be my cap I'd say. Thirty A lot. Now just curious I was going through these today just doesn't season's about to start and I was looking at these God they always do such a good job of like picking these numbers where it really makes you think so does. So that's that's a good segue into our team MVP who is going to be the team MVP for the two thousand, twenty, hundred, forty, niners. I also think he's going to be the defensive player of the year. I. Think it's going to be Nick Bosa. I think the preseason offseason hype on Nick Bosa. Becoming the defensive player of the year leading this team with Saks, pressures and just the way he plays right with the motor he has with the effort he gives a three down player. I think he's GonNa be in the running for DP and Consequently I think he's going to be the team MVP. I.

Dallas Cowboys Players Consider Kneeling During National Anthem As Season Opener Approaches
"Has been one of the more vocal owners about how he feels about the national anthem. Do we know if there's any sort of plans for the Cowboys players to do any sort of demonstration? During the games when they start up this coming weekend. Oh don Terry Poe, who they signed in March, their defensive tackle who? Obviously with Carolina. Ah, he has said that he plans to Neal. And so if he does, that will be the first player that the Cowboys have had that that has Neil during the national anthem. They did Neil together as a team before the national anthem Ah, few years back before they played the Cardinals in Arizona, and then they all stood together when they are handsome started. And so, but this is a different Jerry Jones. Now he hasn't mean he'll tell you. He obviously wants all of the players to stand at his stance. That's how he's always been. He's probably been the most vocal about that of any NFL owner, Maybe any owner of sports But you can tell that he is more understanding now than ever. He understands what's going on in the country. And he you know, he's more is the word he keeps using his grace. I'm gonna have great And in that way, almost another standing of where before it was thought. Hey, if you kneel during the anthem, your doubt cowboys player you're playing. I'm gonna have a job next week. Because this is like this is a line you just can't cross with Jerry Jones. I don't see that happening now you've seen ah lot more understanding to it now. He knows that you know that. Obviously there's going to be. He's going to hear backlash from fans, cowboy fans that that don't believe any players should ever kneel during the anthem. But He is adamant lately. He just wants to deal with it with grace and an understanding on seeing both sides and that just completely different than what we had heard from Jerry Jones, you know, last year and even 23 years ago.

I know this song wasn't released in 85 matter of fact, it was recorded in eighty-one the same month in which closer Bobby Jenks was born for the White Sox, but this was the old Five-O theme song and yes on a late October night in Houston the White Sox delivered a World Series Championship to a city just start for one of those thoughts are racing in eighty eight year absence of baseball Triumph on the south side and not a lot of people expected it to happen in 05 not without Frank Thomas who was out with the injured foot. He tried to come back. He played only thirty-four games hit twelve home runs dead. Then re-injured the foot had to shut it down but under the managerial stewardship of the off-the-wall occasionally profane Ozzie Guillen, the Don't Stop Believin socks led the AL Central wire-to-wire then overwhelmed everybody in the postseason winning eleven out of twelve the combustible catcher AJ Pierzynski said Don't Stop Believin actually started out as a joke. He said we were in Baltimore during the whole bunch of us in the hotel lobby bar. They had a piano singer. We were yelling at her to play some Journey just as a joke and the next day close game. They actually started playing Don't Stop Believin in Baltimore off and Pierzynski say we ended up scoring five or six while we were like, yeah play some Journey and it just kind of took off from there. It took way off with a three nothing seriously the sauce feeling confident about finally bringing that champion temperature should Championship to Chicago Jermaine. They ended where the one nothing went in the World Series and all year long. They were about doing a little things that would get them one. Nothing wins. They 115 games in which they scored only one or two runs most by a team since the 69 Miracle Mets off the sock 468 + 35 + games decided by one or two runs and they were just on Fire coming out of the gate fifty Seven and twenty nine in the first half and fifteen game lead on office first. "Of the cardinals so excited and I just can't hide it the total collapse of western civilization in the space of a couple of weeks and I get to be there on the radio turned seven mark Steyn in front rush let us go to mark my fellow Mach once upon a time well with yeah once one time old against hers a few years back we will all cold marks a few a cold mock you were pretty much had a great shot at being a Rush Limbaugh gas so maybe mark will be here next week great to have you with us mark what's on your mind today okay so are they when did you close the intercom rate there were new on the other day they were wearing their statues there yeah that's right are there the they didn't do their homework on the history of those particular statute does stash is our tribute to the odd shot a try it was a rich cold red stripe in modern day what would be gone you now and it was on the Gold Coast and this try took on a big for prince and as they took on their corporate they conquered the country are other tribes and they were the major players in the slave trade as they conquered they are took prisoners and they treated these prisoners choose the Dodge the French and the British and the Portuguese the Portuguese to the voice of yours is right now you're old they were the major try it was the viewers of the slave trade that wasn't treated them they treated them for guns so that they could take other tribes and broaden their preference but they were selling the people they conquered and Nancy just didn't go our own work that she was actually showing support for the slave trade and the Assante tried and not you know the eager to these people mark is just beyond my comprehension well the one way to know that someone has absolutely no interest that the great fraud of multiculturalism isn't yet you can have zero interest in other cultures and you know that when you see a bunch of octogenarian a life long congressional Democrats the amaze of income base them sitting around in the capital wearing a shanty what they call it ten T. we are shoals the one thing you know is that they would not and a shanty tribesmen if he fell out of the sky and landed on the head mom you're absolutely right about that the great spot to the trans Atlantic slave trade was when they had contact with these fast European traders the Ashanti is he said the French and the English in the Portuguese and so on the only thing the thing they had to trade what slaves are the Europeans arrived and they were astonished to find these guys it's in the Ashanti tradition but in more when they won they took human beings and they took them into human bondage and it's not a question of you know yeah yeah well you did it too and you did it too and all the rest of it but the question is why isn't that the thing about this is slavery as a moral evil and it's not a white small evil it will also affect time the Ashanti met the white settlers eight walls as normal a feature of human life as the earth and the sky in West Africa black men and slaving black men and you couldn't pick a better colors to illustrate that mark then the ones that Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer a parading and you think they know the first thing about that no not at all a big pages wanted to have a photo op and you know shoulder support and just they didn't do their homework on what they were really showing our support or you know need to Shanti they they had slaves themselves when they conquered they they kept them as slaves right would sacrifice them because they had all the riches their goal what they did was gone to conquer other tribes so they traded lives for guns the broader for brick and broaden their their gold mines in there well yeah and they they basically the the Ashanti why are the dominant slave is of the region so it's almost as if you might almost think that Nancy and Chuck was so stupid but like some children's game they just put a blindfold on and pinned a thumb tack in the wall and happened just happened to hit on the most and few CAS stick slaving tribe in the whole of West Africa it's fantastic and in fairness people did complain because they said they were culturally appropriating the symbols of the Ashanti people but they will also culturally appropriating a symbol of the trans Atlantic slave trade that's how stupid and worthless the Democrats are thank you for your call mark that's really quite spectacular hasn't said if you'll though the one great thing about multi culturalism is it requires no interest in other cultures you can be as stupid a noon a cultural as you want as Chuck and Nancy I have zero interest in any of the cultures all you have to do is just genuflect genuflect genuflect and you do it just by taking all this looks nice and cute these these cute little Africans they have such cute colored scarves but one a bit deeper bugs will be really envious of me if I wear my nice cute little African sky off so they are standing up overall the taking a knee in the colors of the biggest saving tribe of West Africa hail the SND people March sign for rush lots more still to.

"The cardinals welcome back so much so much in the way of sports going on tonight who but Hey we're staying warm and you know the news that broke in the four o'clock hour today was the Kim Gardner lawsuit we're gonna cover that with our friends right after the ten o'clock hour brand young from here selfish or any we got a lot to cover without one and who knows something may change between now and then you never know continuing our conversation in there rich rabino American politics other accessory to find his book on Amazon thanks for sticking around well you're welcome are you been watching the national championship game you care about things like that now I like I don't I'm not a football fan I like baseball little bit but not football now okay while the right before the break the I was giving you an idea of what one of the interview pictures see I get a bunch of these things every day people that were looking to share their knowledge and expertise on certain topics and there was this one pitch that came through in the idea of the topic was could Republicans be on the cusp of breaking the Democrats hold on the African American vote I thought I was kind of an intriguing question I don't want to bring that person on but I do want to ask you about that Richard what so predominately if you look at the African American vote they voted Democrat for a long time is there a chance that you see some changing shifts with that now first of all you have to remember that the damage the Republic the Republican Party was once as predominately African Americans once was predominantly public and the are Democrats now they lost essentially you go back to nineteen so you go back certainly the notice the party of Lincoln the you know if they were the Republicans if you go back to prior to reconstruction right after the civil war there were a group of Republicans elected United States Congress the Democratic Party was seen at the time as a party segregation in the civil war there the party obviously of the south and the Republicans were the champions of black separate for example so as a result many of them were almost almost a preponderance of them were Republicans and you know folks like Benjamin Harrison was present for example he tried to he support you supported African American suffrage the African Americans are very little to the Republican Party as is late is nineteen twenty eight Herbert Hoover that year garnered the majority of the African our can vote and essentially he lost they lost it in part because there was the KKK at the time wise during the nineteen twenties and Coolidge and Hoover the KKK was telling rallies in Washington DC and president Hoover and president Coolidge since he did nothing about it in nineteen twenty eight one who was running for president he starred the idea that the Republican Party could become the party of the south in many respects in the party of what he called at the time he said the Republican price with a party of lily white people so in nineteen thirty two our Franklin Roosevelt was not seen as the party of the act as a can of the African Americans John Nance garner the candidate picked as a vice president the speaker of the house from Texas with an ardent segregationist for example but it was that first term of Franklin Roosevelt the new deal specifically she had a time when African American unemployment that like twenty percent they want to claim it was at twenty percent prior to a few years prior to the stock market crash in nineteen twenty nine so the after some Frank and Roosevelt's planned essentially the new deal which it during the campaign people products and two there was only gonna benefit more white southerners it tended to benefit a lot of folks in the African American community as well I'm in the new deal was seen as something that really that really benefited the African American community living in poverty WPA two eight WPA jobs for example and in nineteen thirty four this is nineteen thirty four there was a congressman in Chicago at the time this is the Chicago southside were Brock a bomb out made its political career that was a report done or Republican in the first time in American history a Democrat was actually elected to United States Congress in Illinois that was African American that was the first time that it happened and gradually the Democratic Party started Frank from Franklin Roosevelt and Harry Truman started picking up more and more nineteen forty six for the first time in American history the Democrats actually in that mid term election one more of the African American vote than the Republicans dead by nineteen fifty six our White Eisenhower one thirty nine percent of the African American vote as a Republican nineteen sixty John F. Kennedy once the one about thirty two percent so when did this all change white is the party of segregation now the part the with the party was founded on segregation the Democratic Party now the party we had ninety percent Democrat the ninety percent of African Americans now both Democrats part of this went in nineteen sixty four so in nineteen sixty four Lyndon Johnson monumental signed the Civil Rights Act of nineteen sixty four they did that with the majority Republican support but there was was called the conservative coalition and the conservative coalition was an amalgamation of white southern Democrats and western where segregationist most and you had western more libertarian Republicans that year and the publican primary Nelson Rockefeller a live Republican governor York was seen as the early front runner but that year the insurgents the Democrat or Republican Party pick very cold water a senator from Arizona who among them in a minority of Republicans oppose civil rights act on constitutional grounds so Linda Johnson seventy Stannis we signed the Civil Rights Act that year the day after Jack Valenti is eight one into the went into the oval office and said why are you so sad is the money much even your one of your presidency he said I just given the south Republicans for noon the next generation and this is where it all started to change Barry Goldwater that year one six percent of the African American vote six percent that's Republican nominee and the Democrats started to see Lyndon Johnson more or less as in the Democratic Party as advocating civil rights and he started to see the Republican Party is advocating segregation and this is where this up this is where a lot of there was so you had the still have a lot of white southerners with Democrats like Richard Russell from Georgia for example you had Mississippi James Eastland very John Stennis from Mississippi very Spartan segregationist the Democratic Party but they gradually started to either become Republicans run forty eight what not run for reelection in their area there is replaced are Republicans and Barry Goldwater that you would die no means a racist this was a he was actually a member the N. double ACP in Arizona but he did he believed was unconstitutional says you have to go with a doctor that was his comment nineteen sixty four may not be because again party will no longer reliant support from African Americans we have to go to white southerners instead to the winter urban ethnic voters with the white southerners nineteen sixty eight Richard Nixon tried that but Gerald Wallace was on there he ran as a southern segregationist as the American independent party enriching experience seventy two in the southern strategy eventually they became reboot the backbench Lee Republicans had very few African American voters it's extremely hard for them to necessarily change that because a lot of them do you the after their date when the when Republicans say something like Rick Perry ran for president talk about states rights for example Republicans and a lot of middle middle borders perhaps look at that and say that that means that the federal government should be off the state to be should be essentially out of should not be controlling the interest of states and states to be able to do what they want they should have a Connie button African Americans look at that a lot of them not talk about all of them the talk about a lot of them look at that and they see immediately see before this protections in nineteen sixty four we talk about states rights you know they are the only constituency that no beef with the federal government they look at the somebody look at the civil war for example they look at being freed this for the civil war that was a federal government civil rights act the boarding rights act does rob actions of the federal government and give a party that is that has an animal to the power of federal the federal government it's very hard for that for that party to appeal to the majority of the African and African Americans they just say they used to have the vast majority of them they lost it and they have never been able to bring it but they have not been able to make any sort of effort to bring it back and they have been African American cancer one per house one percent run for governor and they actually do poorly against even white Democrats okay so that's an unbelievable history I mean we got one in the last maybe three or four minutes entire history lesson and mean it's like going to school that'd be like it's an advanced course in college I mean you'd be pretty much just later right out so it leads us to where we are today and when they look at the polls I guess there's some people that believe president trump in this next election will be able to maybe get an up tick in African convulsed by that last but by no means do you see him taking a majority of them all now now not even close no not at all and demi any Republican it is a long term project for the Republican Party to bring back that constituency a long term project yeah if he if Donald Trump can get eleven thirteen per twelve thirteen percent that is a victory for Donald Trump or any Republican right now with the African American vote now it is true though here's where I think the person who's made that case is probably making the argument it is true that if you ask them are they might liberal moderate or conservative there are other democratic constituency more with their more moderate among African Americans and there are liberals but a lot of that is because of social issues if you are issues like gay marriage issues like abortion rights they actually tend to be more conservative than the rest of the Democratic Party for example there was an initiative in the on the ballot two thousand eight which supported traditional marriage over gay marriage and a lot of people came out in California supporter Brock apama also put that match your major over the top so there is there are a lot of conservative there are in some issues that that they read that African Americans are more conservative the rest of the Democratic Party certainly on cultural issues that's why for example Joe Biden who's perhaps mode which is certainly more moderate Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders is winning such a you know it's it's wing such a groundswell of support amongst the African American community so it's not that the necessary the most liberal constituency in the Democratic Party is that they have a certain fidelity to the Democratic Party and a certain antipathy toward the Republican Party back and see we would look at this I mean you can say for example issues like you know issue certainly anything to do with religion there certainly a lot of of there are a lot of evangelicals in the way in the.

"The cardinals and good news is as you prepare if you're at work in your office in close early in the roads are in better shape than they were just a couple of hours ago maybe not the side streets but certainly the main roads in a little bit better shape marginally will say in most of the snow has tapered off we're going to get maybe an additional one to two before midnight but that's even on the generous side Steve Templeton join me live at two o'clock this afternoon said maybe maybe just an inch or less than that he'll join us at four forty on came once a did mention we have an audio cut the day coming up here the the new cardinals calendar is out the twenty twenty cardinals calendar which is always a great unless the stocking stuffer to the might be tough to fit in the stock if it is a great holiday present Elizabeth Meineke from the cardinals coming up at four twenty we have radio back this afternoon Dave I think we do we were gonna be blessed with Chris Rady back from the winter meetings for fifteen for forty five so we did talk about this a little bit on the round table and by the way great great response thank you so much for the generosity I have the I have the bikes for Tykes numbers here somewhere we we had a great turn out with all our inner calm stations from around the you know the area all the generosity from around the area donating bikes for Tykes and money and we did a great I can't find the I'll look for here we got all the numbers in the totals were amazing but we talked about the the plan this is a story I think they came out well it's been kind of bubbling for last couple weeks about by state taking over the failed loop trolley it doesn't seem like a good idea to me on its surface able accounting they will as county counsel mark Carter's with this afternoon to talk about it mark how are you are you mark hi good how this county roads more importantly Hey we're trying we're trying to stay ahead of them this is been coming down a different birds so our spending on overtime and trying to keep up it's it's hard on a day like this it really you know and I I'm one of those cautious drivers and I mentioned this earlier I just tried to turn on to one forty one from the area where a if it was a bit of a downhill slope even taking it easy I almost ended up in a ditch so you can be care and then you have people that don't take it easy so it's a bad combination speaking of a bad combination that'll be our Segway here into the the by St Louis trolley issue I guess even though this thing is a pose when it comes to let by say take over and salvage whatever might be left here they're gonna look at this right as a possibility so we're we're are you I think it's just throwing bad money after good or good money after bad I suppose is the way to put it but look the key here is you don't wanna lose future highway funds right I mean that's always been the threat that they've come up with is that you know this would make the great chamber add to the feds but the feds are as much to blame in this situation as everybody else I mean maybe they gave these grants or while back tone number of different trolley type of of transportation projects cross country and almost all of them are either failing or have failed in the way that they were constructed in the way that they did not get the riders I will promise so they're they're partly to blame here as well but I think what by state is trying to do is is maybe jump and then see if there's anything that could be done and see if they can resurrect this but it's going from last I heard it's going to be closed through February until they can figure that out well in let's say they they can't figure it out the I mean look how how much longer can you just extend the sing out before it's going to be a certain death because you need hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and I think that maybe even the supporters would admit that the ridership numbers are way off in the Rosie is predictions yeah yeah and and there were there I mean they they they had a hard time getting ten percent of their projections summer how far off you can be and this this whole project has been as you know right from the start every projection was off from the cost of building this thing to ridership to revenue you name it everything was off and I just can't believe how they missed the mark on on this project that they did well you you raise a good point because I I do think that in the end here where you you know start to look at what happened with this project and you measure love to look into some of those others too there has to be some accountability for future programs when it comes to just tossing money down the drain over projects that aren't worth while I mean I don't know we're in the process that that really needs to be we have the focus on because I I you know again these things get it's such a big bureaucracy mark you know that it's big enough at the county level you start getting to the federal level with projects that are being proposed and then you you know you look for approval and grant money it's hard probably even to clamp down on a situation like this with the doubles it is and you know these are projects that are from conception to actual ribbon cutting are sometimes ten year projects in over multiple administrations the you know I know if you follow the the same they have a trolley up in Kansas city that was built about the same time and it just basically loops around downtown in a kind of looks like a bullet train that goes down the street in their case and now they're giving away free ridership because again given by allied it so you know our loop trolley Chargers to box I believe and they're giving away free rides up there just to get people ride it but it's the problem is it's trolley to know where and so people don't connect it looks like they are going to take over some kind of management try to figure this out and maybe try to resurrect it for the spring and and see where it goes but we've we've as our council decided that in our funding for by state that we made sure that none of the money that we are giving them for their normal budget operations none of that money will be used for the loop trolley and we got them the promise that to us so they get their normal funding but they can't spend it on trolley function so they're going to come up with another source mark cost cutting on there and to get the money needed to manage this project well I mean I I don't know if you could ever cut costs enough to to account for this I think you're gonna have to have private dollars it's step in but it seems rather ambitious at this point then the question becomes if this thing goes belly up so you're not going to spend the money to pull out the the rail lines and things like that right I would write yes I would hope not I mean I in the end the funny thing is that everybody advocated for a boss type of trolley for this project and Joe Edwards in may and the backers down there said now it's got to be authentic rail driven Lecter Trevin type of trolley and they've had nothing but problems with it from the day one of this project so you know it there's some illegal here that needs to subside I think if we're going to make us go you know my even my wife said you know why did they just try a boss type trolley for a year and see what kind of rider ship that is and see if you can not just the schedules and go places or you want to go and see if you got some interest before you invest fifty one million dollars in a in a project like this you could invested you know a couple hundred thousand a bus yeah Intergraph there's even any demand why would I want to do something like that that might make sense we'd rather waste tax part payer dollars mark that would be a smarter move mark Carter county councilman always great if I don't talk to before have a great Christmas mark I appreciate it you too bye have a good one I think it is an example though of how these federal dollars just get tossed around maybe more blatant example of this would be naturally because if we're really being honest when it looks when you look at the ridership numbers and everything else that betulinic has provided I get you have to have a a public transportation system in a large metro area but the buses were fine probably until the the light rail came along and that's great for people use it but when you look at bang for your Buck it's still a boondoggle is well this however is is different because you can do something a kind of deep in the but I think it'd be great India with many of these transportation issues the light rail would be a primary example of the be awesome if we had war of an extensive system here in Saint Louis but you can't pay for it so if you don't have the return on investment the withdrawal is a good example if you wanted to give uber vouchers I would tell a few weeks ago sorry had to clear my throat and Netflix set me in for the Irishman event and they gave me over codes to use because they were picking up the bill so I would fly into the airport and they they sent me an overcoat and I had I think I had like seven or eight trips that I could use throughout the course of that three days and then they expired you could use it again so I was thinking maybe I can use and when I go to well as in Vegas last week could do with that I bring it up because if you look at the amount of money that was spent on this trolley in you city the amount of uber codes you could have sent out for people to go from the Tivoli to our hill I think would have been quite impressive nine Alyssa school is picking up an entire street forcing businesses out and making it more difficult for people to get around in you city.

"Point four five. Era Their starters two point four there relievers two point five six a league best two point seven eight fielding independent pitching a strikeout rate second best in baseball of nine point four one per nine innings a major league baseball best walk rate of two point. Oh eight a sparkling one point six three walks per nine innings by their starters and an eye popping six point four wins above replacement by their pitching staff their starters accounting for five point three wins above replacement one win about replacement for their relievers the cardinals meanwhile treaded water on their way to a five hundred record at about league average bridge marks now. This isn't to say that the cardinals were dealing with some injuries Carlos. Martinez was shut down late in the year. Adam wainwright was still working his way back from an Achilles Italy's debt would land him in the bullpen. I'll be effective role in the postseason but the cardinal's collectively posted a four point one eight. Era a four point one three fielding Alina independent pitching their walk rate was fifteen database bond three point four five and they're pitching wins above replacement just one point four twenty third in baseball simply put the cardinals pitching was just okay in the month of September that's why they were fifteen and sixteen and that's why despite the fact that they won one hundred games they finished his three games in front of the cubs and eventually would lose the cubs in the NL DS. This year is a much different story as the cardinals pitching has been great and shows no signs of slowing down the cardinals also get the luxury of facing the Colorado rockies for three games before coming home from acid stand against Milwaukee in Washington and then wrapping up seven of their final ten games against the cubs that'd be Michael Walker against Chichi Gonzalez Tonight Hudson and sent to tell it tomorrow Michael Nicolas Melville on Thursday a matinee before the team heads home but I can imagine it will be a much different flight from Colorado to Saint Louis and the flight from the West Coast back on August the seventh after dropping a heartbreaker to one as the dodgers walked off the cardinals against you you guessed it eight sterling from Jack Flaherty Carlos Martinez coughing things up in the ninth cardinals pitching his carried them to this point and although twenty eighteen fifteen shares the fact that their adverts had a lead in the middle of September that they appear to potentially be in position to have next week. Things are much different different. The cardinals are executing. The pitching appears to be getting better and the cubs mirror more than one hundred fifteen cardinals than the twenty fifteen cubs. Certainly only seven of the last ten against Chicago will go a long way in determining things and things could change before next weekend series at Wrigley but for right now for the cardinals staff and their club Bob it's full steam ahead to the rocky mountains for scoops with DOT COM. It is officially been one month since the cardinals turned things around in a big way on August ninth before their game against the Pittsburgh pirates at Busch stadium after the Owen five trip through California the cardinals were fifty eight and fifty five in third place in the National League central and four games games behind the Chicago cubs since then the cardinals along with the braves have put up the best record in baseball twenty three and seven and a couple of games in front of the best records in the American League Tampa and the Houston Astros cubs meanwhile fourteen and fourteen since that point the brewers are fifteen nine and twelve the cardinals eight games better than the cubs over that span as they had into Colorado tonight to begin a three-game series against Iraqis rockies who have been a major league baseball worst eight and twenty one over that stretch matching the Miami Marlins Detroit Tigers and the Baltimore Orioles Israel's. What comparisons can we draw from this year and two thousand fifteen mid-september the last time the cardinals lead in the division. Was this large judge for scoops with Danny AMAC DOT COM. It's ironic. The cardinals haven't made up any ground on on the Atlanta braves over the last thirty days. They have been simply fantastic but that could be a story for the first round of the playoffs. The braves two point six seven starters starters. Era over the last month since the night of August is just in front of the cardinals two point six eight the only teams that are below three and are both half front better than the Cleveland Indians the cardinals bullpen has been fantastic as well but the execution and the management of the pen by Mike. Show Mike Maddox and Brian ever skirt the cardinals have the best bullpen era in the National League over the last month at three point two seven and second in baseball only to the Minnesota sort of twins offensively during this great stretch. We've seen the cardinals put up pretty good numbers as well as a team. They're batting average of two sixty. Nine is sixth best in major ager league baseball. They've posted a three fifty on base and a four forty five slugging percentage. So what comparisons can we draw from now to two thousand fifteen the last time the cardinals held the lead this large division at this time of year ironically. It was the cubs who put on a late season sprint in two thousand fifteen as the cardinals also played about five hundred baseball similar to what the cubs are doing this year. The colonels were fifty eight and fifty five through one hundred thirteen games this this year as they tried to chase down the Chicago cubs beginning with that series in Pittsburgh on the ninth of August back in two thousand and fifteen through one hundred thirteen eighteen games. The cardinals were seventy three and forty. The cubs were sixty five and forty eight over the next thirty games. The cardinals went sixteen and fourteen over the same stretch. The cubs went twenty one and eleven so they did start to close the gap through the first nine games of September the mark mark that we've reached already this year the cardinals have gone six and three in two thousand fifteen the cardinals went three and six the cubs have gone four and fourth through the start of September this year sure they went seven and two back in two thousand fifteen over the entire month of September and October. The cardinals played just under five hundred baseball fifteen and sixteen and the cubs twenty three and thirty nine so what was different in twenty fifteen and what will be the difference this year. The answer is simple. The answer is pitching. Remember all those numbers I just rattled off as how the cardinals pitching has fared since they started their run of twenty three wins and thirty games back in the first week of August there at the top of every category in major league baseball the cubs are at the top of every category Major League Baseball back in Twenty fifteen and and it was their pitching that carried them to ninety seven wins in the National League Championship series it was their pitching that closed the gap from an eight-game deficit the first week of August two just a three-game deficit behind the cardinals as the season wrapped up and they headed to Pittsburgh to win a wildcard game and then eventually knocked the cardinals often four games in the National League divisional series. I'll take you back to September of two thousand fifteen the Chicago cubs lead baseball on almost every pitching category a league best two.

"In place by by him from a schematic attic standpoint and then really Steve Time should not go without blame the Carton Arizona Cardinals G._M.. That brought in you know both Mike Glennon and Sam Bradford to run. Mike McCoy's offense. I may just it was a comedy of Ariza comedy of ineptitude from this franchise and what it led to was the team bottoming out to the point where they got the number one overall pick and they've essentially head to restart in very much are are looking instead of short cutting instances last year at quarterback and head coach. They're going for a long rebuild approach and that's the sound way to do it John since you mentioned him. I have to ask you about James Becher. He was brought to New York last year. There was quite a bit of fanfare over the the hiring of Becher instead instead of the retaining of former defensive coordinator Steve Spagnolo the giants defense performed badly a year ago. Dave Gettleman said a number of times it had they been able to get stops stops at the end of games they would have won four or five more games than they did in their five and eleven season might take on bet your has been that it's not fair to judge him off of last season because he he didn't have the kind of players that fit the type of defense that he likes to run. Just give giants fans your thoughts on James Becher on the kind of defensive coordinator. He is in on what he might bring to the giants given some time to fully implement his system and get the kind of players that he wants yeah. Absolutely I think the perfect situation to compare imperative is what you just explained.
