"He's served on the capitol police force for fifteen years. he was at the capitol defending it on january six. We'll have more when we come back. This is a This is on point. I'm meghna chakrabarti. Today we are hearing from sergeant collino. Grenell he has served with the capitol hill police force for fifteen years and he was one of the officers defending congress on january six against the insurrectionist attack on that day. He also testified last week before the house. Select committee investigating the january. Sixth insurrection alongside sergeant. Grenell officer michael finan of the metropolitan police department testified as well. Here's a moment where he described to the select committee his sense of betrayal by the elected officials and staffers whose lives he defended and saved on that day. What makes the struggle harder and more painful is to know so many of my fellow citizens including so many of the people are put my life at risk to defend our downplaying or outright. Denying what happened. I feel like i went to hell and back to protect them in the people in this room but too many are now telling me that hell doesn't exist or that. hell actually. wasn't that bad. The indifference shown to my colleagues is disgraceful. Joining us now is jack beatty on point news analyst pillow there jack who meghna sergeant good now. It's an honor to speak to you. Sir thanks like west. So jack tell us your thoughts on what you've heard sergeant donell share so far. Well i just hope that this committee can perform. Its its duties with same courage and steadfastness that the sergeant and his colleagues displayed. They have to be worthy these these representatives of of their charge and they have a high bar to come up with democracy was saved that day. The line held because of Because of the sacrifice of of sergeant grenell and his colleagues and in particular. This committee has to look at big questions that remain. I was looking at the senate report on the on the and at the leaks from the report of the inspector general for the capitol police and questions just leap out i. What about the white house. Were they involved yesterday on c. Span general russell on ra who conducted an investigation for speaker pelosi of security conditions at the capitol. General honore said quote. He believed the white house was complicit in riot. That's we've got to hear from him from that committee. To general william flynn the brother of michael. Flynn who was one of the most he's he's the sort of furioso who around the president who was telling him even in the days leading up to the riot to declare martial law. General flynn in a In a meeting with people at the pentagon and officials at the capital said he didn't he didn't take it would be a good look to send The national guard there. Well sedition doesn't necessarily run in families but we've got to hear from general william. Flynn was he in any contact with his brother. Who just the day before the riot had had been addressing The soon to be rioters and inflaming the passions against Against congress We've got to hear from him. Three fifty two no less than fifty two and probably more by now former servicemen. All our current servicemen are laren. Forcement officials coward a former up. Were among the four hundred. This is some weeks ago. We don't know what the number is now. Indicted for the riot fifty two. That's got to be looked into. That's a serious. That's a serious breach again. Members of congress were they involved. There are reports from representative. Mikey cheryl of new jersey democrat that she saw congress people leading large groups of quote tourists and constituents on capitol tours in the days leading up to the riot now. What was unusual was that was you know. Sort of locked down not lockdown conditions. But there weren't many tours on because of a covert that has to be looked into whether members of congress were involved and finally the their investigations apparently of upwards of thirty five members of the capitol police themselves were looking into whether they aided the rioters and sandra grenell that you spoke about your trust in your fellow officers. I suspect that that investigation into whether your colleagues aided these writers any of them. I suspect that must be especially painful for you. I want to hear your answer to that. But let me just let let me just remind listeners. By the way that you sergeant bonilla's here speaking on his own behalf and i just want to reiterate that he's not speaking on behalf of the capitol police force as a whole but sergeant gonna go ahead. I mean we've had comments coming in online of people wondering the same thing that jack just asked because of the video footage that that many people saw that that showed capital police officers taking cell fees with some of the rioters but go-ahead ahead. I can attest to that. 'cause i wasn't there in the area but i know if i were there i would have put a stop to that because when we enough to the job waiting sign out to only be a police officer for one party or the same thing. When i was in iraq. I saw a conversation with while the soldier one day and was verbally abusing won the Iraqis in i put a stop to that that more that night get motor so i think i i did my job in keeping us safe from that time but It is disappointed that those are reports. I cannot comment on those because Pervy to that side of the investigation phase in mystification old. I could tell you. Is that where i was lower. Stairs entrance doors officers including many of the metropolitan police officer. Today that did responded to assist me in my although officer we were hell bent implementing those people from coming in. And we did. We accomplish that when i was mind. I spend most of my time there dad day and a no point in time. We were concerned about what was happening in the other. Interests is because the the level of noise the level of tax level. Everything that was happening at the entrance we thought and i could say with certainty certainty that we all thought that was the only breach inside of the writer trying to getting the getting to capital because the way they were fighting because the types of attacks that we were getting so in not mind we were defending the entrance saying to us. That was the only entrance that we're trying to get in later on. Find out a four hours later or files later When miss boylan ah die. 'cause i we did. Cpr her my me and my guys and it was down to. We took her up to take her to the ambulance tattoo. I find out that the world war two full breaches into capital In you cannot tell me that the president had that time did not know that what was happening. He cannot say he didn't watch tv when even fox foxing loose halal on on live broadcasts and they didn't cells were calling worse. The president with the help wasted military so for somebody who continue for many years saying that I know more than the general. I know more than the scientists. I know more than anybody else. So what happened this time. Was he in the end. The bunker of white house crawl up like a baby asking to himself. What had i done weather. No and then he comes back out three hours later to in unsettled tummy his supporters. A this is not what we had in mind. We say. Stop the steel. Here's the hegg them hang continued. This is what happened when you have Election in part of phrasing here so you cannot say that..

Senators Looking to Finalize and Vote on Infrastructure Bill

"Infrastructure bill is written as we mentioned a moment ago, and Chuck Schumer is pushing for its passage. But it's 2700 pages long. It was a long weekend here on Capitol Hill, but senators now have in hand the text of that bipartisan infrastructure package. Total price tag $1 trillion, and that includes 100 and 10 Billion for roads and bridges, 39 billion for public transit and 65 billion to expand broadband Internet. It will now head to debate on the Senate floor, where some senators will try and force some changes. And this will be a delicate task that bipartisan group of negotiators will have to keep at least 10 Republicans on board. This to clear the Senate, and it does face some challenges ahead. Those senators are optimistic that they have the votes that they will pass this by the end of the week. Over in the House lawmakers are already on recess. Democrats hold a very slim majority there, and progressives have already made it clear that they want to see a much bigger and larger package passed first and the House try to force a vote to try and extend the eviction moratorium before they left on that Greece s that field. There's no plans to take this up in the Senate. Now, the White House and Democratic leadership are turning to state and local governments trying to put the pressure on them to quickly distribute the funds that Congress set aside to help landlords and renters of the $47 billion available So far, only three billion has been distributed.

"Paper over the fact that we still don't know how exactly this virus started at a year ago today, If I was to bring that up and tweet that out and put it on Facebook, I would probably have my account suspended. But now his conventional wisdom to the point where the W H O is all over it, and a man with has been screaming from the mountaintops been virtually ignored. But his book can't be is called chaos under having Trump she and the battle for the 21st century that the battle we're in And the pandemic is the latest blow was an intentional Did it come from the Wuhan lab by the fact that the military is brought in to clean up? Does that give you an indication, and in fact, you were all dealing with another variant, and another surge in China tells us they can't even control it. Josh, welcome back. Great to be with you again. Brian. Josh. First off what's happening in China? You know, they said the only about 4000 lost their lives, but they're starting to go through lockdowns. What can they do? Your sources tell you is happening with this variant. My sources tell me that the delta Varian is spreading rampantly throughout China and that the Chinese Communist Party is covering it up egregiously. Now, if you just look at their official statements, what they said a couple days ago, was 300 cases in 15 provinces now That you the math is about 20 cases of promise. Does that make any sense to anyone? Can you imagine the Chinese government people sitting around the table me like, Oh, yeah, we'll go with that That will sell. You know it's insane. So my question is okay. If you see them locking down huge cities like Nanjing, and they're claiming it's only 300 cases. How can we trust them on what they're saying? And the answer is that we can't and Just think about that. Okay, Well, it makes perfect sense because they lied and covered up every stage of this pandemic, And now they're covering up their delta variant. Uh, problems which I'm sure exacerbated by the fact that they're Chinese government made shots don't really work that well, And then you think about all of the international athletes going to Beijing in what six months, seven months for the Winter Olympics. Uh, not knowing what the hell is going on with their outbreak. Is that safe? Is that okay? Are we just gonna stand by and let that happen and pretend that they're not lying to our faces. I hope not. But we'll see. Why is the administration went from that you know, didn't happen is the distraction to the other looking into it, and they came out with the report. Did that report show you anything? You know, the Biden team is going through this like 90 Day Intelligence Review, which is coming up in a couple of weeks, actually, and they're already putting out feelers and and and leaks to say, Oh, well, we were not going to be able to figure it out. Well, we looked at all of the intelligence data, which, for some reason, they didn't look at for the 1st 18 months of the crisis. But anyway, set that aside Now they're like, okay, we actually looked at the The stuff all the stuff that we had on these one lives that we never bothered to look at, and we didn't find any smoking gun. So everybody go about their day. And I think what you're seeing on Capitol Hill from almost all Republicans but now increasingly, actually, a number of Democrats. Uh, it's a very public statement of like, No, That's not okay. We can't accept that. We can't just look for our keys under the lamppost. In other words, we can't The intelligence data is only one small piece of the puzzle. And I think what you saw just over the last couple of weeks was really damning Report by the House Foreign Affairs Committee Staff Minority Staff led by Mike McCaul. Ah! Compiling a bunch of data that shows that not only is there a lot of evidence pointing to the labs, but that the timeline is all screwed up. And then it was probably circulating in Wuhan months earlier than we originally thought. Originally thought, Brian in September 2019 not December, 2019. And then you just think about that. There's just one second, you realize Oh, my God. They were covering it up potentially four months longer than we thought, Which means it was spreading four months longer than we thought. And, uh, you know, that's gonna That's not even something that the final team is really Focused on so what we're going to have in a couple of weeks here is the binding team is going to say, Well, we we looked inside of our own files, and we couldn't figure it out. So let's just move on. And then you're going to have people in Congress on both sides of the aisle. I think Saying no, no, The investigation must continue because 620,000 American Americans have died so far, and because there's no statute of limitations on those deaths and their families are going to want to know. Why they died and who's to blame and also, uh, we're going to need that information in order to prevent the next pandemic. You know, which is really the most important thing because if you listen to our public health officials like Anthony Fauci and others And Francis Collins will say, Well, we need to do more research on more viruses and more labs and cleaning labs in China, and the fact what Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins are proposing in The New York Times is billions of dollars more In U. S funded research to dig up dangerous viruses and play around with them in labs, including in China, and all I say is, shouldn't we before we do that? Just check. Just do the investigation just actually roll it out. If it's not true that these Wuhan labs were involved in some way with the outbreak, isn't it crazy to pump billions dollars of more into labs that have zero accountability and zero transparency in the crisis when the pandemic Breaks out on their doorstep. And you know what kind of schmucks are we? If we, uh Try to go into these labs and they tell us to go pound sand, and then we're like, Oh, would you like some more money? You know, So this is really getting to the point of, uh, public awareness. And I think you and a lot of others are Deserve a lot of credit for raising the profile of this issue because it's not about politics. It's not about Trump. It's not even about science is about a forensic investigation into how we got into this horrible dystopian nightmare that seven billion people continue to live through continued to suffer through And that can't be an investigation that's confined The intelligence reviews. It can't be entrusted to the scientists who were the best friends of the Wuhan lab and who have been telling us not to look into the labs like Anthony Fauci? Uh, we're going to have to have a public airing of all of this stuff. Be able to say that we even tried that We even made a good faith attempt to prevent the next pandemic. And if we don't do that, Well, then everybody better start buying some more masks. Well, some people look at this and says, okay, they saw the intelligence early on when Trump was in power. Pompeo and company they came out and say that I cannot. I cannot release the fact I cannot walk away from the fact that this could have come from a lab I cannot released. I cannot let go with the fact that we need to investigate whether this was intentional or not. And those were the words and the feelings and the sentiments of the statements from Pompeo and Trump and was totally refuted by all social media organizations..

Democrats Are Changing the Narrative on COVID-19 Again

"Rumors. I'm hearing up on Capitol Hill from reputable sources that they're changing the message on Covid, the Biden administration and all of his little surrogates and deputies out there and the lemon Democrats because they thought they could win in the midterms and maintain good public approval by running on a message. You know what that message was? You ready? Wait for it. The message was. I'm Joe Biden. We stop the pandemic ticker tape Parade time in New York City. I did it all. Look at me. Let's celebrate. Take about I'm not kidding. They thought that was gonna work. But what happened? They realized about halfway through that message. Folks has something to do with the delta variant. Okay, This virus is serious, all of the variants or serious, but they're serious for people with very specific problems. Co morbidity, these people who are obese. Otherwise you have a very, very, very, very good chance of surviving this virus. Very good. Okay. If you don't meet those conditions, older, elderly people, right? People are infirmed, so they thought they could run on that the we stop the pandemic message. They found out that they're so incompetent. This administration street crime started erupting. They opened the border people piling across our southern border. The border is not even a border. It's a suggestion. Then all of a sudden you saw a mild spike in some of these places, so they're saying to themselves halfway through, we're going to lose these midterms. But we may even lose the governorship of Virginia Young kid could win the Republican there. This is crazy. This is going to be embarrassing. What do I do? And some focus group came to them and said, You have to switch your messaging. You have to switch your messaging to. It's a pandemic again. It's totally out of control. And that has to read that has two purposes for them for the election, because, remember, it's all about power. It's not about facts

Rumblings Among Democrats That They're Screwed for 2022 Midterm Elections

"There's some rumblings up on Capitol Hill amongst the Democrats, who are starting to freak out. The rumblings are that they are about to get destroyed in 2022 in the midterms. I mean, lose every string swing district lose pretty much every Senate seat that's competitive, maybe even lose semi competitive Senate seats, and the route could filter down to the Virginia governor's race and elsewhere. Where racist what they thought were solidly democratic that are off your elections. They're not Virginia and New Jersey have off year elections, but they're hearing up on Capitol Hill and this should make you smile. Little bit. No, no, no reason to get complacent. We gotta double down now. But I'm hearing that up on Capitol Hill. The Democrats are in meltdown panic right now because they feel like this could be such a brutal drubbing that it will cascade for years. The damage about to be done to them in the midterms. It's for a lot of reasons. It's not just their peer fear. Porn panic panic Campaign for coronavirus. It's their relentless pursuit of racism with CRT CRT trying to teach your kids to be raised. Just it's it's their open borders crusade infected people piling across the southern border 900% increase over 14 months, no rules whatsoever, spreading them out all over the place. Illegal immigrants all over the United States. It's the crime wave happening in liberal cities. The Democrats are about to get destroyed. They know it. So reason number one. They're turning up the fear porn campaign again to make you scared. Absent any significant data to show you you should be scared they're making it up is because they need to fear porn. Cheat in 2022. Yep, I said it. That's right. They scare you guys in the studio. Okay, there. You ready for that? That's right. Did they want to cheat in 2022? How do they cheat energy the same way they cheat all the time.

Trish Regan Explains the Dangers of Biden Administration's Money Printing Policy

"So so. I'm not being devil's advocate. But i i need your your market and economic acumen here. This isn't a new thing. The drunken fed the drunken sailors on capitol hill. The the printing monopoly. Money isn't a biden phenomena. It seems like we've been doing this for decades. I it seems as if there's never you know the ferryman who's gonna take his deal at the end of the day. Is this not just a rubber band. That constantly stretches at at what point does break in one at some. So what does that look. What causes it to break. Okay so what is it to break is when the economy can't keep up with these inflationary prices anymore. When you start saying you know what. I don't think i'm going to get takeout from that indian restaurant because like the prices are insane when everything costs more which were getting closer and closer to while simultaneously wages nowhere and. I don't anticipate that wages are going to be going up. This is like the barack obama joe biden years all over again for eight years no economic growth less than two percent. Annualized growth said. That's what we saw. Well guess what the cost of housing went up. The cost of gas went up. I mean everyday living costs for americans. They went higher. Education cost healthcare costs. Everything became more expensive. But guess what nobody was making any more money. That's one of the things that you know. Nobody gives the trump administration credit enough for but when you look at median incomes under those four. Well three and a half years until cova you know really took the the bottom out from under but prior to kovin everyday americans were actually doing pretty well. They were doing much better. Because median incomes started to go higher and that we had not seen in years. So now we've got a situation where everything else is going to cost more and yet people aren't going to have as much money

Why Are Democrats Staying Silent Over Cuba?

"Congress. Enjoyed very strange. Can you give us any insight. Your on capitol hill fighting a good fight. Why have nancy pelosi and chuck schumer being so incredibly quiet in the last week with regards to the historic events occurring on the streets of cuba. Yeah yeah no. I it again. I i think it's an indication of where where the left is today They don't want to stand up for freedom they don't want to stand up for individuals who are actually Expressing freedom you know the you got cubans putting up the american flag you got cubans talking about freedom. You got cuban talking about You know just how bad it is under a communist regime. I've actually had the opportunity to go to cuba there. Twice my background's in the sport wrestling. I competed there twice. Back in nineteen eighty eight nine thousand nine hundred to get to tokyo any real cubans without somebody watching. You know. it's amazing people but you could. You just got to see firsthand. What happens when you have a system that doesn't allow property rights doesn't allow capitalism doesn't allow freedom doesn't respect the rule ball in any say you see how bad it is and again i was. I always say it's not about the people we're all human beings. We're all the need to god's grace but when you have systems that repress freedom like like they do in cuba you see how bad it gets and those people are yearning for what we enjoy in this great country yearning for an opportunity to be able to set goals. Have dreams and go. Make them happen which you cannot do in these communist systems and to have democrats not speak out in favor. These individuals In cuba is is again. I think in indication just how crazy become and when you have. High obama holdovers high officials in the state department congressman jordan. Say that The demonstrations because of covert and the shortage of vaccine. Give me. nobody believes this thing today. Sebastian and you know this. You've talked about this many times. Nobody believes what comes from the mainstream press cause time and time again we've been just you know they tell us something. They push narrative and then we'll learn months later. Oh that was completely false just like we thought it was at the time they were saying so nobody trusts what the mainstream press says it. This is one of the great things. Texas Democrat Lawmakers Look Ridiculous Fleeing the State

"Just watching. I had Fox on here in the background and I'm watching this story about these epic losers from Texas. These Democrat lawmakers, Jim, You and Mike are out there in Texas on the Great Fighting Almighty w B. A P in Dallas, one of our up one of the great stations that carries the show. We love you. But what a bunch of losers! So in case you missed this story, I mean dip wads of the highest order these Texas state lawmakers to avoid a quorum. They fled the state because they don't like free and fair elections. They want to basically vote for people to be able to cheat in elections is Democrats love cheating? So in order to keep the cheating going, they fled this day. Not only flee the same, they're dumb enough to take these dopey something they got these they're taking on the play like one day. These are the big face Diaper brigade to they love the face diapers in the mass. They like the deuce. They want to rock the Deuce, the Triple Mass. Sometimes they're on the plane. Private jets, by the way. No masks at all, which listen great. Good for you. I don't believe in the face Diaper either, but it's just weird. How the Democrats tell you to put your face diaper on. And yet when they flee the state in a private jet that I'm guessing Based on some experiences a local private airport near me, and I know the guy. Well, I'm guessing for that many people on that plane multiple plea. It was probably a couple $100,000 to fly them to Washington, D. C. To get these cowardly chumps out of Texas and enter up on Capitol Hill, Not in Texas, where they're supposed to be doing, you know, Texas type stuff. And they're singing when they're singing is really quite terrible.

And then i get home because graduated from college in nineteen ninety four so i get home that summer trying to figure out my career path bat fall. And what do i see on television. I see ads featuring the governor of california basically saying california's going down hip and it's the fault of families like yours and it's the fault of people like your parents. They keep coming back to million illegal immigrants in california. The federal government won't stop them at the border yet requires us to pay billions to take care of them for people who Were in california. At the time they remember the ads they keep coming. "Speculation. And that's our job here so go we wanna look at her some anomalies. Some of the things that were weird that happened like you pointed out there have been hundreds of trump rallies and there really hasn't been any violence. If there was the mainstream media would have loved to highlight it. So what did happen today. Well i mean. I've seen some weird video. I saw the capitol hill cops open up a barrier and deck and people to come toward the capitol building. What does that mean. I don't know we don't know the context. I stopped video of capitol hill police officer leading a group of people who so called. Breached the ramparts up into the senate toward the senate chamber saying. Come this way come this way. was out a part of crowd control. We don't we don't have the whole picture but it certainly isn't anomaly. Unlike a lot of people who who are talking about this. I've actually been in several. Capitol hill lockdown stock. Paul when i worked for you in the cannon house office building. We had some triggered some halloween Staffers went through the metal detector with a funny costume on that they found later and they locked us down and apparently once there was supposedly a shooter. They locked down. They locked down several times. They kept claiming that airplanes were about to fight into our building. And i do have to say that. The there was a mythology about the capitol hill. Police officers They're not on nisshin. I can tell you for a fact that the way that they've handled previous lockdowns they they were if anything very inconsistent in how they did things but it's still was strange because they knew days in advance if this big rally was coming yet. It didn't seem like they had made any adjustments to how they handle capitol hill in advance of an expected million people. In of course apparently a million million and a half people there so there are a lot of anomalies that i think needs to be discussed in the hopefully in a sober way but really scratching our heads and asking the question. We bono who business. It's from all this. Well you know. i do. Pay a lot of attention except a lot of the suspicions about cultural marxism because It said that their goal is to cause social disruption. Make it bad and make obscene where there's so much chaos they then they move in. And that's been traditional how marxism works communism. They march into the chaos. And they they take over and so we've had a lot of this extremism in the local area especially and then this last year especially With the lockdown which was a big cause of a lot of our problem. Of course that was government inspired. And there's proof that the lockdown was a good medical maneuver for for helping people so but There was a lot of violence going on then. On top of the lockdown then we had the demonstrations by black lives matter antifa and they go out there and all of a sudden you see some real violence coming. Yeah tarrant on on burning..

"Spike in cases that could be as bad as king. County saw in early March if they're outbreaks aren't contained. The protesters entrenched in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Say they're not leaving until they see changes to policing in the city. A situation city leaders say they're willing to discuss, but so far there's no clear plan and it can't help things that president trump has found Capitol Hill tweet worthy kyw's Casey. Martin has been reporting from the ground on Capitol Hill over the past week. Hi, Casey who Murph Aurea. Good good, so it's about seven o'clock on Sunday as we're talking. Where are you and what's going on? I'm standing right at the intersection of eleven and Pine, and this is the very center of where the demonstrations have been for weeks, and for a long time, this was right where police were standing off with protesters. Police haven't been here and almost a week, and this has just become a complete sprawl of activists and a Lotta people joining in on kind of taken over this major intersection. There's a lot of people here tonight and it's probably one of the busier nights. So tell me now where you are. Is this being called Chaz or is it chop? You know that is is a bit of confusion. Even for the people who were here so originally. This place was called the capitol. Hill Autonomous Zone there was multiple signs saying welcome to Chaz. Just about a day or so ago, black lives matter activists here in Seattle and King. County said wait a second. We are not an autonomous own. We're not trying to secede from Seattle. We're not trying to separate ourselves from the United States, and so the name has now been called the Capitol Hill organized protests. Also debate some people calling it the occupied protests. As of right now, the very latest is people saying you know this is not an autonomous zone. This is an organized protest. Okay, and this all started about a week ago. Right Casey. Last Sunday night there was still tear gas and Flashbang right here in this intersection and Monday night. The police were called out of the East precinct. They left around six o'clock. There haven't been back since and the people have stayed..

I was this song and she was communications director and she did very similar. Things pulled me to the side but there were a couple of key things that I just sort sort of stuck out throughout my whole career so the one. She went away for like a month and I was like a staff assistant. I was green and Shit. And she said to me like you're going to have to deal with press while I'm away for a little bit. I knew that on the hill to give your contact list was was a big deal. You know you're not supposed to give me she goes. These are my relationships and I have worked very hard to maintain them. And you can't can't take that away from me so remember that throughout your career. So that's one moment and I think that that has really I do that. Every single thing I do. He was probably the longevity of my career has sort of existed because I build real relationships with people and in a transactional world and we would all all admit that. That's sort of my gift in that. I've learned to do that over and over again by the second one is sort of you know Dubbed from this is that we have what we call like our sister mentors So there was when I was middle of career. We were sort of looking around and we're reliable. Who's our hose are the person that we're going to model our career actor and I think you know I? This was when I mean I don't know ten fifteen years ago there. This room would not exist. It wouldn't have and so we really took care of each other. We found jobs for each other. We corrected everybody's resumes. We found like we would push you when you were crying. We'd pick people back up. I mean and it has stopped throughout these years and I think even now when someone quits his job or is not doing well we figure out ways even just like we'll find them seat mommy or a contract position or whatever it is that allows them to stay in this work but also that Ab- lifts them and reminds him that there's somebody else said Is Looking out for them. I think that that was that was a harder lesson to learn throughout my career is like sort of the. Take that leap. But it's a lot easier when you have a soft paste the land with a group group of women who are taking care of you and I have so many women obviously but the one that comes to mind That has impacted me. Most recently gently is my predecessor The woman who had the job before I did The chief of staff role is Linda ship and She was also an API. Okay woman In this leadership position and she was really the first time that I saw what A woman of Color An API woman could look like in leadership she was you know she was serious. She was always had the right answer. She was so good about providing feedback and she was a strong leader but then she was also compassionate. So I think she showed me a lot about how to emulate that and be That type of manager and leader as well and you all have hit on this and some way or another but it is being the only round round the room and the lack of diversity on Capitol Hill and it has has gotten better but we know there's always room for improvement and all of you have really great important roles. So what are some ways that you working to make sure you're not the only brown rural no room and bringing people along with your especially those younger staffers color..

"This is the capitol hill show with tim constanta nor fascinates me is how in the world politics people come and people go and in in public life now this is true i suppose in anything i i was listening to the radio yesterday and the band cheap trip as a new sahnoun and they they were playing it on the radio and i thought how cheap trick broke through in the late 1970s they had an album paul live at buddha khan and they became very popular they had that album they had the dream police came out they had two or three albums eroded the very beginning they faded a little and under the early nineteen nineties they had a song called the flame which was a huge hit and all of a sudden what what's interesting is when you you a big act you get big money when you when you were in demand should get big money and in the case of cheap trick by the late eighties they were playing small venues in some cases even clubs large clubs would they gone from playing auditorium slid held fifteen thousand people all the way down to little places that held eight hundred or 1200 people and then they had the flame and all of a sudden the demand went right back up again well they've commonly grown now they've got another hit single and so on thinking here they are what is this next year would be forty years since their breakthrough saw forty years and they they're making a comeback there's an an arab a flow to fame sometimes into how lucrative you are you going to hang in there keep plugging away and do what you do well this is also true in the public for this is also true in the case of people to make their money off controversial subjects they come they go no better example perhaps the alshark them i've been considering how l sharpton seems to have disappeared from the landscape you would think with the black lives matter movement and so on than al sharpton would be at the forefront but he is not now.
