"Behavior is good for seven days. Beta access will be granted so again to me. It is a little bit ambiguous here as well. if driving behaviors good for seven days of that means the seven days preceding requesting the beta or if it has following requesting the beta I guess is following because it's probably asking permission to then track those metrics over the following week Instead of asking permission to then look at the history over the last seven days which could be either but my guesses. It's gonna look at the following day so we might see the blunt button on october. First we might see the first then roll of the expansion of the beta program on October eighth if my assessment of both of those tweets has cracked but obviously There could be some variability there so again. This is gonna be it you know. It sounds like here. If driving behavior is good for seven days they'd access will be granted. It doesn't seem like it's going to be extremely limited. Uh so seems to me to be really good news for people that are you know obviously very anxious to get get the beta and try it out so exciting even if it is a little bit slower still exciting to see some progress here Just quick update here in terms of efficacy and norway. Somebody asked about this. Ilan did reply saying technology probably in a few months thereafter limited by regulatory approval So yvonne still very bullish on that I would apply that probably to other jurisdictions as well with Obviously he said you know some more things about canada in terms of timelines before too So those were kind of the main. Fasd beta updates But we'll stick with you on twitter. Here there are a couple of tweets. That i just want to cover two so clean tech. Tweeted out this article about plug in electric vehicles. Getting a twenty eight percent market share in germany for the month of august Which is obviously super encouraging. Super exciting Blind to that saying again. Sort of ambiguously. I guess that's the trend for today. Uh september will be interesting so tough day. Exactly say what that means may be looking at the queen. Tactic article can give us a little bit inside on that Just to go through some of the details so august blogging electric vehicle market share twenty eight percent that does include plug in hybrids. Unfortunately you guys know how i feel about that by now but a fifteen percent battery electric vehicles which still a pretty high market share. So it's good to see that That's for the month of august. I think for year to date Battery electrics all electric's earned eleven percents Total electrified would be at twenty three percent year. Did it in germany You can see her in august model three doing pretty well trailing the volkswagen ninety-three obviously volkswagen. Would it be producing those over. In europe versus the tesla being imported from From shanghai and tesla's still doing pretty well drilling the three only by about you know. Seven hundred vehicles eight hundred vehicles. Their motto is down there.

"In london. For the monitor. Canadians have watched concerned. -ly as political polarization has divided the united states but centrism appears to be winning the day in canada's national elections for many canadians the campaign ahead of the snap elections on september twentieth has been full of partisan spite perhaps never more clearly than when a member of the right people's party of canada through gravel at prime minister justin trudeau on the campaign trail earlier this month but political analysts. Say that's not the full picture they say. This race has been one of the least contentious in recent history as conservatives in the united states and several european countries have moved further right to capture votes in canada the conservatives have tracked to the center and the mainstream parties have remained united in the country's biggest challenge fighting the pandemic everybody in politics right now. We'll tell you that the tone has become nastier and coarser says maxwell cameron a political science professor at the university of british columbia. I think one of the things. That's interesting about this election is that it's not really a particularly polarized election across a wide range of issues. The story was reported by sarah miller. Yana in toronto for the monitor. Why do opposition minded russians vote in the elections because despite the state's tight controls over parties and the dirty tricks of the ruling united russia voting can make a difference. Russia officially declares itself to be a democracy russian media. Cover the campaigns much as the western press covers elections and just about everyone agrees that the elections do matter but while fourteen parties covering a wide spectrum from left to right will be competing for seats in russia's lower house of parliament in september nineteenth election. Opposition parties are carefully managed by the russian state. The gamut of loyal opposition parties is genuine and much of the criticism expressed by them can be as biting as in any western democracy but via electoral controls individual pressure candidates or political dirty tricks. The state keeps any party or candidate who becomes a significant threat to the ruling. United russia. Party from success at the pulse. Still opposition candidates believe running as worthwhile little by little. Even small drops of water can wear down. A stone says oleg mannequin a candidate for the liberal yabunaka party. We do not need any more revolutions in this country that leaves us only with gradual democratic methods to bring about the changes we need and we've seen some small local victories. That suggest it can happen. This story was reported by fred. Wear arkhangelsk russia for the monitor during economic hard times one role that government can play is shock absorber. New census bureau data show the difference. That congress's quick assistance. The Unexpected Story of a Man and His Bear, Winnipeg

"The toys from our childhood. Stay with us long after we stop playing with them as adults we may lose track of a beloved stuffed animal or a fun action figure but we keep the memories. We remember how safe they made us feel and darkened bedroom or how much fun we had zooming them around the house as if they were flying and yet no matter what we all grow up and leave childish things behind but thanks to one man's impulsive decision. we learned. We don't have to let the past slip away. Not only can we hold onto it but we can share it with the people we love and keep that joy alive for generations to come harry. Colbourn was born in birmingham england in eighteen eighty seven. When he was eighteen years old he moved to ontario canada where he studied to become a veterinarian surgeon upon receiving his degree he settled in winnipeg in manitoba but duty would eventually call. Harry joined the military when world war one became too great to ignore and he hopped a train to quebec for basic training. It was on his way to the camp when he encountered an odd sight. A hunter had killed a black bear and taken. It's cub to sell at a local trading post. Harry gave them twenty dollars and in exchange he took possession of the bear cub which he named winnipeg after the town where he'd been living. His plan was to raise winnipeg for a little while before releasing her back into the forest. Unfortunately harry's plans change very quickly. Winnipeg became a hit among other troops. They played with her and let her stay in the bunks where. She slept under harry's kat that she grew however winnipeg got too big to live indoors and was relegated to outside like a kind of watch bear for the soldiers. The more time they spend together the harder it became for harry to let go. He in winnipeg had grown close. So close that. When he was ordered to go back to england to fight on the western front he refused to release the bear back into the wild he instead snuck her into the ship with the other troops together. They traveled to the second canadian. Infantry brigade camp near stonehenge in england. Harry let her roam free for a while they were there. She enjoyed playing on the large stones but he soon understood that he would have to give her up. There was just no way for winnipeg to go all the way with him to the front

Fire TV 4-Series Announced

"And today I want to tell you about another new product in the new line of TVs that Amazon has put out. If you listened yesterday to the flash briefing, you know that I talked about the fire TV Omni series, which has hands free voice control. Meaning you actually don't even need a remote. You just talk to the TV. The difference is, of course, with those TVs that require remote. And that is where the Amazon fire TV four series comes in. So what is this? It is a four K ultra high def resolution TV. It's got support for HDR ten and HLG. So that's got great picture quality. And it includes a 43 inch, a 50 inch and a 55 inch model size in that lineup. Of course, it's got a lot of the same Lexi features that you have come to expect. But the difference between the fire TV four series and the fire TV Omni series, again, is that the fire TV four requires the remote, which you can speak to and control XE. And of course, it comes with that. Whereas the Omni one does not even require the remote. You just simply speak to the TV. Now, again, as I mentioned, I am an affiliate for Amazon, and if you choose to use my link then, thank you so much. If you want to check out these TVs, the fire TV four series, you just go to voice in Canada dot CA slash fire TV four. The number four, fire TV four. If you want to check out the Omni series, you go to voice in Canada, dot CA slash fire TV Omni. And that will take you to those TVs. Now, the other thing I just want to mention briefly is the pricing of these. Yesterday I talked about the Omni pricing. But the fire TV four series pricing, the 43 inch is $470. The 50 inch is normally 600, but there is an introductory price right now, which is reflected if you're checking out, which is 460 or 23% off. And then the 55 inch TV is 660. The other thing I forgot to mention is with regards to the fire TV Omni series, the 50 inch also has an introductory sale price. And so normally that one is 650, but the introductory price is 510 or 23% off again reflected at

Fire TV Omni Series Announced

"Week, I want to tell you about a new line of products that Amazon has announced. And this is the all new fire TV family. Today I want to focus on their flagship series, which is actually called the Amazon fire TV Omni series. And by the way, if you do want to look at these, I do an affiliate link, you just go to voice in Canada dot CA slash fire TV Omni. Fire TV OMI. So let me tell you about this. Here are some of the key features that this brand new TV series has. First of all, of course, it is Lexi hands free controlled. It's got four K ultra high definition and Dolby digital plus. What does that mean? Okay, so first of all, with regards to Lexi, the TV itself has far field technology built into it, meaning that it can hear you from across the room, just like any other Amazon echo device. What that means is that you can now use your voice to experience TV, but also use a device for music for gaming and a whole bunch of other things that we can get into. You can simply ask Lexie to tune into your favorite show. And she will jump right into the program you're looking for, so that means you don't have to remember a channel. You don't have to remember what streaming, service you don't remember what input device you're using. You can also use your voice to control playback. Closed captions, brightness, manage your TV, soundboard volume, switch inputs, and there's so much more. And of course, you can actually set up routines as well. So for example, you could say Lexi kick off my day and the TV and smart lights can turn on. Lexi can share the weather, for example, can maybe read you your calendar, and then it can just tune in to the news on your buyer TV Omni series TV. The other thing that it does, it allows you to easily connect with other echo devices in your room if you want to do that. So you can create a incredibly high fidelity audio experience with stereo sound as well. There are some other smart features that have been built into this. You can example say Lexi play something and she will start playing you something from your favorite streaming service. You can also say Lexi play TikTok and Lexi is now an integration with TikTok. And it has picture in picture where you can use the TV to view what is going on, for example, at your ring smart doorbell and camera while you're watching TV and of course, you can control that with your voice. And a really nice aspect, of course, is the ability to share video communication through lexy calling and zoom and you can do that by your voice as well. So this TV, this particular TV, the Omni series four K, ultra high def smart TVs come in a whole bunch of sizes, 43 inch 15, 55, 65 inch and 75 inch. I'll just run through those prices for you quickly. The 43 inch is $520, the 50 inch is 650, the 55 inch is 710, the 65 inch is 1050 and the 75 inch is 1400. And again, you can check all of these out at voice in Canada dot CA slash fire TV

First Civilian Flight From Kabul Since US Exit Lands in Doha

"The first time since the us military withdrawal from afghanistan the taliban allowed a plane carrying americans and others to leave kabul that plane landing and cutter just a short time ago while others are trying to cross my land in neighboring pakistan. Nbc's mollie hunter. Is there tonight. The first international flight taking off from the taliban run kabul airport. Tonight americans on board a us facilitated evacuation plane to doha cutter the first since. Us troops left and a far cry from the chaotic runway scenes. Two weeks ago the state department said they invited more than thirty american citizens and permanent residents but not everyone took up the offer. There will be more flights but the nfc says due to an ongoing terror threat. No details in advance on board one hundred thirteen people and alongside americans canadians brits ukrainians and germans. Nbc's raff sanchez. Was there. This is it. After a perilous journey that started in kabul through an airport controlled by the taliban. These passengers are coming down the steps here in doha. Finally to safety and security but for those so desperate in the last two weeks overland has been the only way out we headed up pakistan's khyber pass to the torkham border-crossing with afghanistan. This new taliban guard we spoke with says pakistan isn't letting all these people through there are people waiting who can't get over. Okay okay so the pakistani military's having moved back but sisters mersal and manisha mayday if you had stayed under taliban rule what would that have been like the big problem school. Not as they're headed to ottawa soon to be canada's newest refugees now if international flights really are starting back again that's potentially very good news for the tens of thousands of vulnerable afghans left behind.

Should Beauty Retailers Boycott Unsustainable Brands?

"So i think first of all. Can you tell us a little bit about pretty well. Bt and about what you do. And then i really wanna get stuck into the sustainability story with you. Sure so yeah. Pretty what beauty at multibrand conscious beauty and wellness marketplace that. I launched a little over two years ago based here in new york city but we are global or getting there we shipped to canada into the uk as well as throughout the us and we launched. We launched with twelve brands. Now we have a little over thirty ranging in skin care. Makeup haircare bath and body products his products. A whole lot of it all. So yeah. i'm really excited about you. Know what i'm building and just sort of where it's going and i'm really excited about a lot of the brands. I just started taking on. Of course you know. The brands carry including one of your graduates. Lawrence buys so ya. Eric clayton fulsome so obviously in a clean piece is very important but so is sustainability. So can you tell me a little bit about first of all. Wise sustainability is one of your core pillars of what you're trying to achieve with that. Well i think it really just kind of goes back to the whole concept and understanding that without sustainability practices in place. We may not have a place for our future. Children and grandchildren to be able to live and be able to thrive so way thinking about how improve our lives in more circular way in eliminate overharvesting. Waste is something that i'm very very passionate about and so of course because this is something that's very passionate about you know in my personal life it's gonna bleed over into my business because my business was born out of my own need and necessity to define beauty products that spoke to my ideals and standards for clean 'em sustainability so. Yeah it's very important that something that we speak quite a bit about what. i'm betting. the brands pretty won't even something that's sort of a continuous conversation. How not only myself. But also the brands themselves can continue to improve in. Push the envelope in that conversation lowered so that they can continue their mission of

Tracking Growth Marketing in 2021

"Gonna be talking about growth marketing day. All kinds of really important subjects obviously was fintech as focused jonathan. You're up here but you're muted. Welcome thank you thank you very much. It's great to be here and excited to be on this new pop pharmacist by twitter spaces. Hang out so. I'm excited to see kind of how this goes and great to chat with you to today but growth and fintech absolutely. Well i will say it's gone from alpha to beta at this point. It was pretty janke the first few times we did this. Maybe two three months ago. And i think the android app is now working at doesn't crash every five minutes. Good started when you think about growth and twenty twenty one i i to me growth has been the uber story of the entire year in every company is growing. The marketing channels are getting congested. Cat costs are going up on almost every pay channel. It's more competitive than ever on organic. What are you thinking about these days when it comes to growth in two thousand twenty one. Yeah i mean. I think you you hit the nail on the head there right and i think you know if we dial it back a little bit to the beginning of cova. I think there was a bit of a pause on you. Know is the sky falling. Are we going to be growing all right. And i think you know a couple of months after that in twenty twenty we saw immediate rebound with folks just kind of shifting attention to online direct ways of buying products that weren't necessarily in person direct to consumer. And you know. I think growth really road that way right and when i think of gross you know i think it's more around folks who are looking at driving revenue for their business and that can involve marketing can involve product and Components performance marketing.

How to Use a Stereo Pair of Speakers With Amazoon Echo

"As you may recall last week, we covered two of the three different scenarios of how you can combine your echo devices to create some more immersive audio when it comes to your echo speakers. And I want to cover that third option today. The way you would set this up, again, you go into your Lexi app. You click on devices. You click on the plus sign in the upper right corner, then you click uncombined speakers. And the third option that we're talking about today is, of course, a stereo pair slash subwoofer as the Amazon team calls it in the options. This allows you to pair two speakers for stereo and or add a subwoofer for deeper base. So what you do is you click on that option, you then can select up to two speakers and a subwoofer. All those speakers have to be online on the same network and in the same room for that to work. Once you click on that, then you click next in the upper right corner. You then choose. And this is pretty cool. You then choose which of those speakers you want to be the left channel and which of those speakers you want to be. The right channel. And then when you do that, you click next and then you give it a name. So this group of speakers will have a name. That way, when you asked for music, you can use the name of that group to specify that it be played on that group of speakers. You can choose one of the names that are suggested, or you can create a customized name, then you click save, and then you are essentially good to go and that. How you do it? That's a stereo pair with or without a.

"What kind of itinerary are you going to recommend for someone who is coming to new hampshire. Let's say for the first time. So i have a couple actually. Why have one more for the nature lovers and people who like hayek hike or at least see mountains and that brings you all the way up to the top of new hampshire which borders canada. And ideally you see some moose on that type a trip and i can go over that and then there are some other smaller trips that either. Bring you out to portsmouth and the sea. Coast the ride along. The coast is really nice. Brings into main rail fast. But that's still good and there's a few different towns in between that kind of those must sees. Okay we'll shall we start with the first one then with the outside outdoors absolutely. So if you start in southern new hampshire or anywhere else in new hampshire in you head north you can visit flim gorge. It's new hampshire state park. They have tours. they have walking trails. It's much more walking. Friendly than some of the other trails that have boulders boardwalks and railings and all that fun stuff you can either go and visit a small bit of it for free or you can actually go in and get admission and visit more of it now where you say when we start there. We're probably starting somewhere further south. You've already taken us. Almost two thirds of the way up to state to flynn gorge just people on the map to me. That's where all the beauty starts is once you get up in the white mountains in southern new hampshire. It ain't no slacker either. Yeah we'll get into some of the nice stuff in southern new hampshire by having lived around. This area ended massachusetts. I definitely prefer the air up. North is just fresher clean. And you have all these beautiful lakes to kayak and you have mountain views

Use Alexa to Set Reminders for your To Do List

"Have you ever had one of those mornings where you wake up and you are just your mind is preoccupied with all the things that you need to do? And suddenly it can help to write those things down and get them on to a to do list. Well, here's an idea for you. You can use Lexie to take some of that. Some of that stuff off your mind off your plate. Basically use the remind me feature if you say Lexi remind me to send an email to my boss at ten a.m. she will do that. And the key thing here is you can actually schedule out your to do list by using the reminders and specifying times. Lexi remind me to phone my dad at one p.m., et cetera and you can set that all up in the morning as you're getting ready and then Lexie will give you those reminders as the day

What Should I Wear Today? Let Alexa Decide.

"Have you found that you were wearing the same thing over and over and over again? Well, Lexi can come to your rescue. I don't know if you know this, but Lexi is there to provide some fashion inspiration on a daily basis. You can simply say Lexi, what should I wear today? NG will give you a different idea depending on when you ask, meaning she does have a number of responses to this. I tried it a couple of times. I did get a number of different responses. So I'm not quite sure how many ideas she has, but I suspect she has quite a few. So if you're wondering what to wear today, just say it to Lexi, Lexi, what should I wear today? And she will let you know. And also, interesting fact, one of the statements that I got from her had a Canadian reference in it as well. Her answers are based on our location. So that's kind of interesting

"Hey Terry here. All right, here is the latest announcement from Lexie live. And this one is specific to Canada, which is great. You may have heard of something called off Lexi conversations, Alexa conversations. And this is a very Advanced way that developers can design their skills to have more natural-sounding conversation with Lexi conversations. Basically is a deep learning based approach to dialogue management. And again, it enables the developers to create natural human like voice experience so you can change your mind on things. So, a good example is, you know, somebody's ordering a pizza and they change their mind in the middle of the order, you know, make that a large instead of a medium Lexi's able to respond to that. And there are so many other aspects to this, that would actually be a little bit too long to get into just in the short flash briefing. But the point of this particular flash briefing is to let you know that this technology Lexi conversations has Been expanded now to include all English locales, and of course that includes Canada. It wasn't available here previously. So this is very exciting. We are going to be seeing more and more skills that allow this natural conversation to have with Lexi. So I will keep you updated when I become aware of specific skills that incorporate this month, later technology of natural conversations, and I look forward to trying that out as I hope you will too. So I'll be in touch with you about those in the near future. All right. Hope you're having a great day. I'll talk to you tomorrow..

"Hello. Terry here. It's Monday. It's a big pig week. There's lots of events going on. We got the voice ten going on, sponsored by Amazon, Lexi, and Google Assistant. We've also got voice, lies happening, Thursday, and from more about that to come. But as I spoke about last week, as you know, Lexi live was Amazon's big event last week and they announced a whole bunch of new features. One of these, I am very intrigued by because this is a teacher that has been available in the United States for quite some time now. And now it is finally available here in Canada. This is called in skill purchasing. So what that means is that now developers that are creating skills, have the option of actually selling to Canadians through the skill additional options or features or other products through the skill. So essentially, I'll give you an example. A skill may have a series of sounds that you can listen to. And so a lot of those sounds are free but if you want the expanded, Sound pack or if you want sounds, for example, without any ads or commercials you have the option of through the skill, purchasing that Premium Edition of the skill and this is wonderful because it gives the consumer, the option of purchasing those, those pieces of content that are providing some added value. And for the developer's side, it's a way for them to monetize their skills and and turn that helps grow the whole ecosystem. If you will, when it comes to Amazon Echo, devices and Lexie. So yes, Amazon just announced that took International expansion of the in skilled purchasing is live and specifically. They said that they have pushed us out to India and Canada at this time.

"Pacific so long if you were interested in picking up and reserving you're free seat, you can just go to the voice Den. All right. So let's get to this. I got a whole bunch of products to tell you about and some of the sales and at the time of this recording I'm aware of some of these sales and I'm going to share the ones that I'm aware of with you. But of course, there are a lot of sales that are going to come up the day of and by the time this recording comes out. I'm afraid I just won't have you know, I won't have the those latest sales to tell you at this time. However, what I will tell you is that I do have an affiliate link and if you go to a l e x a in Canada. See a page will basically be taken to the Amazon. CA website, but they're primed a homepage where you can then access all of the sales now, I will be mentioning a number of those affiliate links throughout this episode as I just did and if you're not familiar with with what an affiliate link is it basically means that I do get a small commission. If you use one of those links there is no additional cost to you whatsoever. The Experience on Amazon is exactly. Yep. As it would be if you hadn't used legally link, the only difference is if you go there it gets tagged that I referred you there and then I get a small commission and it really just goes to help support the work that I'm doing here. So if you choose to use one of these affiliate links, whether it's now for Prime day or in the future then obviously, I really appreciate that very much and I thank you very much. And generally what I've done is each of the affiliate links r a l e x a in Canada. CA it's always thought that slash and the name of the product that we're talking about or prime day will take you to the prime day home page as I mentioned or just Prime take you to the site where you can register for a Prime account off because that's the first key thing to note when it comes to Prime day Prime Day sales are only available to Prime subscribers. And so if you are a prime subscriber already, you are set you are good to go home. If you are not then certainly you can go to that link and register to become a prime subscriber now. Typically Amazon does have a a. Where it is a free trial and so long Take advantage of it this time around and take advantage of the sales as well. Okay, so let's get to some of these really incredible Prime Day deals. Now interestingly Amazon actually had some pre-primed sales that went on that are carrying over into Prime date. And so those ones I can specifically tell you about because they're actually live at the time that I'm recording. This here is the first deal which is an incredible incredible deal with this is the third generation Echo. Now, if you've been following along you may know that just recently in the last couple of weeks Amazon announced the fourth generation of the echo. So obviously, they're trying to get rid of the 3rd Generation month to be honest. The form factor is different terms of the echo 3rd generation and the fourth generation and the fourth generation Echo..

"Today want to talk about Newt Music option that Amazon has just made available here in Canada. Now, the music options have a little bit confusing I think because there's Amazon music there is Amazon music unlimited, which is a paid service on top of your music. If you have music if you are a prime subscriber, you get music, but you do have to pay for the music unlimited but here's the new thing. So beyond that, there is now something known as Amazon Music H D. so high definition music, better quality music and. For those of you that want the stats. Basically, what it means is if you subscribe to Amazon Music Hd you get sixteen bit forty, four point, one kilohertz music, which is basically CD quality sound stream to your device. So it's a big leap up in terms of the quality. They also have about a million songs that are considered ultra high definition, which is better than CD quality. Again, if you're interested in the stat, it's twenty four. Bit Sound with one hundred, ninety, two kilohertz. So this jumps up now. They are offering a ninety day free trial. If you're interested in the best quality sound that you can get after the ninety day free trial, the price is either fourteen, ninety, nine per month if you're not a prime subscriber or it is a twelve, ninety, nine per month if you are a prime member. Just you know there is also a family plan available and that is a nineteen, ninety, nine per month. So those are the options for you. If you truly want the highest quality sound to listen on your devices then this is what is available. Now, the link to have a look at it if you'd like to check out the free trial is a l. e. x. a in Canada, dot ca slash music H D that's affiliate link interviews it. Then, I appreciate that very much. You can try to for ninety days for free. So if you do try to let me know how you like it. Let me know if you notice a big difference in the audio quality and Have Fun with it. All right. Have a great day. We'll talk to you tomorrow. So. BRIEF CAST DOT. FM..

"Four Wednesday and today I want to tell you about a report that came out from voice. Bought DOT AI. And if you don't know voiced by they're actually a really fantastic publication that covers all voice technology. Not Just Lexi but what they were reporting is that there's a new data that showing that these skills launched in two thousand nineteen were the lowest number When you compare it to any of the year dating back to two thousand and sixteen th the reason I want to highlight. This is because they also did publish some Canadian numbers and I just WanNa give you a sense of what. The numbers are in Canada in terms of the number of skills. That are in Canada right now. So this data is now about a year old but this is what they're reporting and they say that in January twenty nineteen the total count of lexi skills and Canada was twenty two thousand eight hundred and seventy three now about halfway through the year so in July of twenty nine thousand nine hundred the total count was was twenty five thousand one hundred and ten so if I do my math right. That means that we're looking at about an increase of give or take but roughly twenty five hundred skills between January of two thousand nineteen in July of two thousand nine hundred and they reported the number of skills that are out as of January twenty twenty and that number was twenty five thousand nine hundred fifty. So that's only about eight hundred or so increase in the number of skills in the last six months of two thousand nineteen why that is. We're not totally sure. It could be that. There was a reduction in the incentives to US developers who are launching US skills. And if there's a reduction in incentives then they may also be less likely to be producing skills for Canada as well so this may have an impact on the skills that are coming to Canada. It's hard to say it's interesting in its data. That'll be interesting to continue to follow and see if there's any uptake on this going forward. I still obviously think that Lexi is just gaining traction when it comes to users so we'll have to keep an eye on this interesting stuff. Hope you're having a great day and oh I just want to remind you I do have a contest going on right now for creating a logo for my personal brand. Dr Terry Fisher. "Hello there it's Dr Terry Fisher here and I wanNA tell you about a new skill that is available in Canada and it is by me by voice. I as you know I am a physician and with all the craziness going on in the world right now with regards to the krona virus. I thought that it would be useful to have a simple skill that you can speak to to get some general information about the krona virus to essentially tell you little bit about some of the things that people are asking lots of questions about now. I'll tell you right up front. It's not a complicated skill is not an overly complex killed. Certainly not gonNA make diagnosis. And it's and I have to be clear about. This is not a substitution for professional medical device. It is general information skill. However if you want to learn a little bit about the transmission or the symptoms or what you can do to prevent yourself from from or reduce the risk of getting krona virus or some general information. Then you may enjoy having with it. the skill is called Corona virus dock and you would just simply say the magic word lexi enable or open corona virus dock and. It will guide you through. You can say if you find it useful and of course I'd I'd really appreciate it if you share it out and spread it through the word of Mouth. Maybe spread. It wasn't the right term when we're talking about crony virus nevertheless if you do find it useful it would be very much appreciated if you could share it out because what. I'm hoping is that just helps to educate the public a little bit more about the corona virus. Take away some of the fear around it and also take some of the pressure off of the healthcare facilities if the general public is a little bit more informed about it all right so hopefully. That's helpful for you. Check it out corona virus dock and I'd love to hear your feedback as well. Thanks very much and I'll talk to you tomorrow.

"Hey Dr Terry Fisher here and let's get right to the flash briefing for today. Here is a really really good piece of news for Canadians. I think this may help us to get a lot more skills in Canada than we currently have and this is a little bit of news that I want to let you know about. I was made aware that Amazon has just change their back end. When it comes to developers setting up their skills he C- previously when when a developer launched a skill they had to select which locale they wanted to be an and most of them of course have been set up to be launched in the United States. And what a lot of developers just actually didn't realize is that they have to opt in to have the skill launch and Canada. As well and I can tell you from personal experience. I've spoken with developers and they're quite shocked to hear that the skill is not available in Canada. Anyway the good news is that Amazon has just made a feature available in the back end when developers are creating their skills that allows them to just select a little check box and that will then push the skill to all the English speaking locales. Now that's good because it's going to help the developers to get these skills into Canada. More readily the downside. There's a downside is if you know. Developer wants to customize something for a country. It's GonNa be hard to do that. They won't be able to use this feature nevertheless. I think this is a good thing. It's going to help us Canadians. When a lot of the skills are not in Canada and now it really is as simple as a developer. Just choosing check box and the skill will come to Canada. So let's keep our fingers crossed that we see more and more of the skills that we want here. I think it's great. Good move by Amazon. And we'll see what happens right and hopefully we'll see more skills in Canada. Remember there's the contest going on right now to win echo show five. You can help me. Design LOGO FOR THE BRAND. But I wanNa let you know. They're doing some incredible stuff. And if you're looking for a really comprehensive cooking skill than I would highly recommend recommend close. Jeff they've got a number of different features built into their their technology and they describe themselves as the Google maps of cooking. Which actually I think is pretty good. Good some of the things that they say so. They say that they can take written recipes and turn those into conversations so it can actually teach you and walk you through how to prepare recipes. They can also help you discover new recipes with interactive content based on your personalization of what you'd like what you don't like Cetera. They can provide shop -able recipes so that you can identify and create ingredient lists that then you can use and it actually can act as a meal tracker as well so pretty cool. I would highly recommend that you checkout clove shaft as the skill because I think you'll find very valuable and today also WanNa give a shout out to you George who left eight five star review for the flash briefing so George. "She. Hey there, it's Terry Fisher here with your flash briefing. Four may twenty second and today, I want to give you a little bit of food for thought I recently came across an article, and it's called why leading Lexi spy on everything. You say could be good for your health, and this was published on the IT world Canada, our website, and this is particularly coming on the heels of some flash briefings that I've done about privacy and the reason podcast I talked to our privacy settings. And this article quotes and hasn't been formation that dives into some of the research that, somebody by the name of Dr poppy crummy is doing. She's a chief scientist at Dolby laboratories, and she's a neuroscientist and what's very interesting is that Lexi literally could be good for your health, if we are allowing Lexi to listen to us throughout the day. So how does that work? Well, when we speak, there are certain parameters in our speech that are more subtle than just the word. Words that we say, for example, Lexi could theoretically detect changes in the speed of my speech in the intonation it could detect changes in the cadence, the tone, flew, the fluidity, and so on. And how does that help? Well, what's very interesting is we're finding more and more that the way we speak is reflective of our health. There are certain companies that have done studies that show a correlation between the way, people speak and the risks of coronary artery disease and even more.
