"Eichel's time is Buffalo Sabre could be winding down sooner rather than later as tsn Pierre LeBron reported yesterday. That the market is starting to heat up on the conversations, and they're becoming more intense and serious by the minute. Some of the teams that LeBron mentioned in his report included The Los Angeles Kings. Minnesota Wild Anaheim Ducks. Columbus Blue Jackets, Philadelphia Flyers. And New York Rangers. Meanwhile, the Stanley Cup playoffs last night, the Montreal Canadians come away with a 32 win over the Gold Knights to even their series at one game apiece. Game three of that series back in Montreal is set to take place tomorrow night at eight o'clock. Meanwhile, tonight we'll see the Lightning and the Islanders kickoff Game three of their C's series on Long Island. The South Tonight is set for eight with that series also evened up at one game apiece onto football. "Are best of edition of the nightcap. Playing back the best of what we heard on the station. Throughout the week. We hear from Aaron shots in the first segment got some football in. Now, Let's change gears to hockey a lot going on with the Sabres. The draft lottery the first overall pick the coach search all that's going on with Jack Eichel in his neck injury. Let's get more of an insider look from T s sins. Darren Dreger, who was on with Andrew Peters and Craig Reveille on Friday morning. If you don't follow him on Twitter, he's at Darren Dragger on Twitter and you know, he's a TSN hockey insider. And about five minutes ago, he tweeted. About to jump on with my pals. The instigators will chat about the Sabres coaching search. Rikard Gronberg, head coach of the Zurich Lions, has been interviewed for the Buffalo job. Good coach. Good morning, Daryn. Horia. I'm doing well. Good morning, guys. So what's up? How's everything going? Don't things are going well, Yeah, enjoying the playoffs for the most part trying to stay on top of, uh, you know, the coaching search and everything that's going on, not just in buffalo Butt. Around the league, and I don't know how surprised you guys would be that Rikard Gronberg would be, uh, interviewed by the Buffalo Sabres. Probably very little. I mean, he's been interviewed by other NHL clubs, I think, most recently, the New Jersey Devils. Real good coach. No question about that long time Swedish national coach. He's been around some top notch players. Nick leads from Henrik Zetterberg go down the list right of all the Swedish great players that He's uh he's been around and his coach more recently. He's been with the Zurich Lions and and is highly highly regarded, frankly. I'm surprised that he hasn't got an NHL head coaching job to this point of his career almost 53 years old. He's got North American experience. He played college hockey at Saint Cloud in Minnesota. So he understands the North American game. Very, very well. So, um, I I would expect that Kevin Adams and Jason Karmanos. Whoever were involved in the interview process would have found him to be impressive because that's the feedback that I've gotten from. Other NHL clubs over the years, so all we can do is throw them in the mix and ultimately will see where the process takes Kevin Adams and the Sabres in their final decisions. Who else is in the mix? Now? We talked about talk it. Obviously Don Granado, Um, U mass coach. What's his name? Greg? Colonel. I think he was one of them like who else is in the mix new names coming up or names that are standing out right now? No. And again, I wouldn't say it's early in the process. You know, they're probably at a point now where they feel like Um, they they basically seeing everything that they need to see. Now, there might have interesting coaches who are still on benches. You know that. We don't know why I've got that feedback from some other clubs or in the coaching search, waiting to see what happens. Um, so I I can't be certain as to who would be the front runner beyond Don Granado? Of course, who We've talked about week after week. Deservedly being you know, in the upper echelon of of the process. But to just just give Dr Gronberg guess, uh for a second I think he's reached a point in his career. I haven't dealt with him directly, but where he might even consider coming over as an associate coach, and that would intrigue me if I were Kevin Adams and and management, the Buffalo Sabres. You know, Donna Granado has shown enough. In the short period of time that he deserves the head coaching opportunity, but you want to bring in something new. Something different in the next Gronberg would be right up there. Rick talk it. I mean, it feels like he's just kind of jumping from one airplane to another, isn't he? You know, he's he's interviewed a couple of times with the New York Rangers. So as Gerard Gallant, his coaching team Canada at least twice. With the New York Rangers, and I'm sure Buffalo is circling back on these guys as well. But you know, beyond what we already know, Marty, I don't think that there are any surprises at this point. Instigators Darren Dreger joining us here, as he always does. On Friday. Now, at a new time at 11 o'clock, we had Kevin on, um last hour, and we did not ask him about Jack's situation. Jackson Neck because you know what he's not going to tell us anything. Um, it's and we're going to be wasting a question. And wasting his time so What do you know? That's why we That's why we like to ask you these questions because you find these things out. And there are, uh there at a very interesting timetable. Right now. They are. They have not made a decision yet on what the ultimate path for recovery is right. Is that again, the more traditional means of just continuing to treatment. Working with the medical staff and and just trying to heal naturally or the surgical route. They have not made that decision. My understanding is That the Buffalo Sabres had a bunch of conversations in the past. Few days this week, certainly gathering all the most up to date information from doctors and again the medical stuff and sources indicate that Adams also met in person. Um, with Jack Eichel's agent, and and that I believe happened as early as yesterday. So the communication is regular. And if nothing else, I think that's a positive step right because it kind of felt like during Jack's exit interview. That this was headed in a nasty direction. And I think things have settled down a little bit because both sides can appreciate, uh, that that the work that needs to get done moving forward here has to be in the best interests of both Jack Eichel and the Buffalo Sabres organizations, So the fact that they're in constant communication is a good sign again. Lots of dialogue this week with the medical group involved with Michael's agent, Peter Fish, but no final decision on ultimately what direction they're going to take. It's time starting to be a pressing issue with that, as well..

My name is Brian Cold, Eli. Thank you for listening. Get the final in overtime. Rangers three sabers too. We'll talk to here Saturday night. Same two teams savor the Rangers right here. How the Buffalo Sabers Radio network. Okay, You know something? Opening day schedule, considering it was going to be Jacob deGrom against Max Sures here tonight because of covert concerns with the nationals. We just had Manfred and he just announced it on our show alive, So it is shaping up to be a crazy morning here and let us for those of you just joining us, Then we just go over some of the topics that we covered with Rob Manfred and the important pieces of it will make that are straight talk and what I took away from it. The conversation around attendance. He's different from Roger in that first of all he's starting now. You should know. Roger Goodell and Rob Manfred have known each other like their whole lives. They're very good friends, and so I'm sure they confer with each other on a lot of stuff. And Roger. It's important to point out. Roger, on a call with media earlier this week, was not asked about attendance and he volunteered. We are expecting to have full stadiums this fall. I went home, I said to stays. That is extraordinarily good news because these guys have experts around them, telling them all kinds of stuff that we're not privy to. And so he's not volunteering that because he's guessing it. He's being told by people who know that that is likely. It's likelier than not. He wouldn't say it. You know he doesn't start till September. Manfred starts today. So Rob was much more measured in his assessment, but I also gleaned A real optimism from him on how he expects this to go relative to fans. We know there's going to be all the fans in Texas and all of that to begin with, but every ballpark will have some fans immediately. And I think the expectation amongst those people the people who know the people who run the sport is that it is going to ramp up. So I think we should expect to see Ah lot of fans in the ball parks as we get to the summer, which sounds awfully good to me. We talked about The expanded playoffs in the D H. I didn't ask that question well, and I regret it, but bottom line of it is he wants the D H. He wants the D. H because he knows the fans want the D H and I think in a perfect world, he'd like the expanded playoffs, too. But that's something they're gonna have to sort of fight through with the players Union. That's the way baseball has always gone about it. The players who I think are trying to turn that into a bargaining chip because everything in life becomes a bargaining chip for them are standing in the way of something the most fans want and does not hurt players. It does not hurt them at all right. There's no no downside to either of those things are there. No, that doesn't need the D. H. In the end, I was like impact 15 or 20 people. It doesn't really move the needle for the players. So I'm with you there. I think they just want to make that a bargaining chip. And look, I'm the last guy in the world to always take management's or almost ever take management side. But on that one, I'm firmly on their side. And then the Theo Epstein piece of it, I think is the most interesting of all they bring in Theo Epstein, and you described him as sort of being like Dr Frankenstein. They brought back now to try and and tame the monster that he himself created, which is to say the sport needs to adjust to adjust some things and he's got exactly the right person to figure out what those things are. How do we go about them? Baseball faces the same challenge that all sports do, but I think because they're scrutinized Maurine this way. It's a little more sensitive anytime they adjust anything in the sport. Baseball has this legion of purest fans who just lose their minds. But I think they need to do something that will positively impact the watchability and entertainment factor of the sport. And we've had Bob Costas talking about that on these airwaves, and I've been talking about it for a long time. And so have so many people. Michael Kay said it yesterday. So many people who love the sport, and I think Theo is exactly the right guy to do it and he will go figure it out on him. But go ahead, make the point. You were just making me about field. I mean, he is now positioning himself to have one of the truly great and super unique all time careers. Baseball think about. He's a 47 year old man who spent his whole life working in baseball. He has broken two curses in Boston and in Chicago to the most fervent fan bases we have, and now he's going to go work in the commissioner's office and essentially fixed the game for lack of a better term. And I guess sort of tame the monster that in some sense he himself created and sort of, you know the analytics movement that have stemmed from it as a result of it, so he has really set himself up for a very unique career, and one I think will result in him being in the Hall of Fame. It's a lock. I think he's a lock for the hall. The fame, straight talk wireless, No contract. No compromise. Meanwhile, very quickly here and then we got the wood ready to go in a lot of other things, but I wanted to get in some open some over unders. I just want to put some stuff on the table today. So I was going to do more of these, but we don't have time to give me five. Give me five teams and everybody will you follow along with me on this? We're going to do these together this season you following We'll see how I do and we'll have a little fun with it. We go. Just pick five teams. Okay here right now. Okay. 88 wins for the Astros over or under. Definitely overwrite. The Astros are a team. Um, that I looked We all understand.

"Took nearly five weeks. 34 days more than 800 hours. But Thursday night, the drought finally came to an end. It was a nightmare to say the least hard practice yesterday, a positive attitude and a little turnaround tonight when number one is a head coach for Don Renato, snapping this 18 game winless stretch their first victory in 19 as they surround Lena's hallmark and a 61 win. Over the Philadelphia Flyers favors win. Haven't been able to say that since February, 25th Nbcsn with call prior to Wednesday, Buffalo had gone Oh 15 and three since their win in late February. It was the second longest winless streaks and shoot outs were introduced in the NHL in 2005, and they tied the 0506 Penguins for the most consecutive losses, including overtime and shootouts. But let's bring in Paul Hamilton, now with His thoughts here. Paul. It was there for the taking, and of really bad third period ruined it for him. Yeah, well, the Bruins were ahead for Three minutes and 50 seconds in that game. And that's it. They took the lead for the first time at the 16 10 mark. I hated the goal. I hated the place started with middle statues kind of waving it. It's Smith in the neutral zone is he went by very poor effort there. And I, you know you go into the zone Reaching and preachy Richie and creature outwork everybody. And the sabers air around. You heard Kyle Pole, So say you got five guys, basically where they're supposed to be. But by that time everybody staring at the park. Well, what What if I always talked about for how many years now Awareness And nobody has any clue that Smith jumped in there. So whether you call it bad luck, Bad bounces. Whatever you want to call it. I call it creature working hard in the crease, giving the puck out to Smith. There He is, by himself and everybody. Everybody park watching. And You know that That stuff wasn't happening in the 1st. 40 minutes. I mean, what did we talk about? At the end of the second intermission that You know you got it can't go into the third period and have the hope that Lena saw Mark's going to stand on his head. And get to the game He almost did. I mean, he faced 15 shots in the third period he gave up to go or you know that the two goals But still made 13 say's while the other kids stands at the other end, what does he have to do? How Will Postponed Games Help The Boston Bruins?

"Bruins will be they will not have their upcoming games against the Buffalo Sabres both postponed due to Buffalo. Cobra late issues not bruised related issues. How do these poems postponed games affect the Bruins going forward? Well, if you want to look at the negatives first, which I think the only real negative there for the Bruins the fact that they're not going to you know, they're going to add those off to schedule later on when you already got a pretty compressed 56-game schedule like the last thing you want is to just kind of drop those games, you know in March April with the schedule really sets picking up there. So that's Thursday. The only drawback um and the immediate, you know, you look at losing those two games off the schedule probably helps the Bruins right? Because one obviously the priority it's not like this is an outbreak on the email. They didn't you know play a team that you're going to see guys also get held out cuz of, you know contact tracing or testing so the room starts your vote on that regard. But yeah losing those two games for right now seems like it's a I wouldn't say it's good fortune for the Bruins, but they definitely could use it right especially that that's Saturday game. If you play that Saturday home game against the Sabres you're looking at three games in four nights for this team and you look at you know, the amount of guys they already have on the Shelf with the bruskin grzelcyk and Kasha and stood Anika and you add in the fact that you know, they get through that Washington seriously doubt anyone getting really injure like put on the Shelf but held yeah. Yeah exactly, but you still got quite a few guys with bumps and bruises Bruce Cassidy said so the fact that song Um, you know, I'm Bruce Cassidy more or less said that you know, maybe they practiced on Saturday, maybe maybe Sunday but having you know, four days off without actual games is a good choice, you know a good break for the Bruins in terms of letting them rest of these guys who have taken maintenance days as of late. Plus it allows you then to rest a guy like Chris like in Nebraska who would be back pretty soon both guys already started skating at Warrior. So rather than you know, Rush those guys back or have to play know another two games against Buffalo without those guys in the lineup you could rest of those guys, you know work back at their own pace and potentially going to go back on the road again next week have all of a sudden your you know, your second pairing defenseman and your top six guy back in the lineup, so I'm obviously not ideal when you you're having games postponed due to covid-19.

Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defender Zach Bogosian

"Swipe up. I wonder if Zach Bogosian things he got a swipe up. He went from getting weighed by the Buffalo Sabres had his contract terminated Then a couple of days later he signed with the Tampa Bay lightning lightning for one year. One point three million dollar deal obviously going to be prorated goes from Buffalo eight points out of the wildcat to Sunny Florida and Ana Content. That not too shabby on this deal. Make sense right. They they bring in a guy for depth And just for him to have that moment of. It's it's embarrassing right when you when you do get way they didn't want to go to the AHL so everything gets terminated but then when you hear your agent say hey there's some teams interested in Tampa one of them. You just start feeling a lot better about yourself so I don't know how much he'll play. I'm sure he's going to go down. He's going to get the vibe of how that team is. They're going to see how he looks at practice. He'll get a chance. And who knows if he really is a part of this lineup and playing lots of minutes or at all when they end up getting to the playoffs and try to get back what they lost last year and then bashing first round. I don't know of ZAKPA. Gordon will be a big part of that but no matter what he's around a winning culture and he's not playing in the minor so everything's everything's good in his

"Our desire to go after the low end of the market for two reasons number one. There are so many more of them more more. Small businesses than larger businesses would fall into the paychecks range. Secondly and here's a little bit of the key to paychecks success the way rape payroll processes process. is they charge you per check created in other words one. For every one of your employees the more employees you have have on the payroll the lesser per check. You'RE GONNA pay payroll processor. Got Another words. If you're a hundred person payroll you may only a fifty cents. I'm just pulling these numbers out of the year. You may only fifty cents a check. But if you're five-person payroll your total. Bill might be seven dollars dollars. Which means you're paying a dollar forty at check? The revenue from ten ten person payrolls is two and a half times more than it would be for one hundred percent payroll to get that Yup Avenue. Ten- tense would be two and a half times greater than one hundred person payroll now. I I think it's easier to sell ten times in one hundred because all the other processors are going after those large clients so it's much easier to sell the ten tents and their respective overhead is not consistent with the the fact that it's ten companies instead of one another which we can operate we can do. Ten payrolls take easily as we can do one one hundred. There's gotta be something that you do or Worldview worldviews that you have that. Most people don't have because a lot of people I just don't become millionaires. Let alone billionaires do you have maybe in addition to your book do you have. Maybe some books that you'd recommend or do you have a kind of a pithy quote you'd like like to share with people or or what's your big tip for our listeners out there. Well I'll tell you I'll give you some people. Ask Me if I had a mentor. You're I don't think I've ever had a mentor. What I've had is a bunch of negative mentors in other words as a salesperson for paychecks? The company I told before and the company that burroughs corporation I was exposed to a lot of small business people and I learned a lot more watching watching them. Operate when they were doing well rather than when they were doing great. So I've learned watching people make mistakes. I think that helped help the most Also I think I did a pretty good job at keeping. The company focused both on product line and and achieving sales quotas that was number one importance to our management team that we always fails scores and sales goals Tom. I've got a question for you if you could go back. Say The mid seventies you you've got paychecks started in seventy one. You've kind of hit that critical mass of at that point. Where you you said in your interview earlier said it? Looks like you're going to make it your friends. It looks like you're going to make it if you go back to that time for back going back in the old time machine gene and talk to yourself. What advice? What would you say to yourself at that time? Well a number of things I'll give you one is as soon as we went public. I came out with a product line. That was much different than what we were doing. It was a similar to monster DOT COM. But it was before the Internet now we made an investment in it but the sad part of it. The the bed partner who was Wall Street did not like us going into a diversified business. Much different than what we were doing. No soon after in public so our stock price suffrage average some periods of time because of that now after a year I said that's enough and we closed it down Secondly you know I said we brought in ten partners and six franchisees. I probably could have done it with fewer people. Sure it just pay their territories Larger than they would have had less those people to deal with. Yeah excellent there you go and now. We're on a personal note. I've been I've been looking at your bio and countries to research on you a very interesting wresting life you've led but if you could go back say a few years ago and you could either one owner professional. NFL football team. ooh Be the governor of New York. Which one would you choose? Ah Well I've never wanted to own a NFL team you know. I own the hockey team. The Buffalo Sabres right and that was a great experience over an eight year period. I did want to be governor. I tried to be governor three times as an independent independent in New York state which is a tough throw. The two major parties have so much strength in New York state side for an independent. They get elected I. I would've loved that challenge back then I really would have I have I have. I have a couple of final questions here. I've noticed you've donated throughout your career. Tutored and fifty million billion dollars. Is that correct. You've donated over fifty million dollars to charities thus far is that right actually. It's over three hundred million now. Three hundred million. What kind of charities do you do you give to? Who and what charity? You look for in the charities that you give back to the actually. The two categories of charities sounded onto intellectually Developmentally Disabled and Steven is now in his early fifties and but because of his experience We spent he and his mother. We've given quite a bit to organizations that deal with people with developmental disabilities he's We have a foundation set up in our name It gives out approximately two million dollars through two the foundation. Also oh there's a lot of organizations and any community hospitals and schools That type of thing and We probably hit most of them. At least they know if most of them in the Rochester New York area. We're now expanding down to southwest Florida so into individual individuals with developmental elemental. Disabilities is is a major one. But we also help. As many schools schools colleges universities hospitals. Can we have three children's hospitals named after rose one in Rochester Syracuse and one in Naples. Well I'm not sure. What a series of poor life choices that? Tom May end up on our show. But this is the puck on the show and I know he was confused as the how would happen. We've had John Maxwell on the show so many great people but this was one of my favorite interviews. This was awesome awesome. Tom Thank you so much. Yeah thanks appreciate doing it. Hey well I'll tell you what. If we're ever in Naples Florida area we're gonNA bring out our megaphone we have a megaphone phone does not have a megaphone in the studio you actually do megaphone and if you hear some guys running around the water short areas harbor looking for.

"But one of the things that happen to me it took a few of the people and we only had a few working out for dinner one night for some sort of minor celebration and we went to a popular steakhouse in town and we had dinner and I still had my American Express cards My other two cars master charge visa and taken away but I still have my American Express cards I paid for dinner with American Express Card in the owner who I knew came back to me with my American Express card cut in half and he said He. It was directed by American Express to do this. That was no longer going to get credit so obviously that was quite embarrassing so fortunately he was a client so I said how would it be leave. I just had my track my charge for gender against your bill and you know you'll be reduced. Its I'm getting out of here with some sort of posture left point I remembered friends coming over to the house. I remember one time. Good friend of mine came over. You opened up the refrigerator door. We were that close and there was nothing in it having gone through. That sounds like he's not through a little bit yourself. The real character building. So how did you fund the scaling of the business. I mean Gee said it took you four years to get to three hundred clients. How did you fund the scaling of paychecks? which today's he has six hundred seventy thousand customers? Tom Correct well after. I got established in Rochester. New York with about three hundred clients. a friend of mine came into the office and his name was filled. So where I'm Phil said time. This looks like you're GonNa make it. Is there any way I get involved and I said well. How would you like to be a partner with me in the cities of Albany Syracuse and buffalo flow? And he said Yeah. We'll do that and we agreed to it. He got started in a couple of months later and employees of a client came into my office. Said Thomas is really great service I I like to go somewhere in the United States and startling I said we're we would you like to go. He says well Miami Florida so I thought to myself t being a partner with somebody in Miami Ame. That's not bad. There we go. So that's the word partnership he says we all know. I WANNA be your Franchisee now. There's a whole new thought but it meant you know me helping them get started maybe an initial fee percentage of revenue and. I said okay. He went off to Miami Florida. After I got these two individuals started I said is this. This is the way to build a national organization so during the next four years I brought into the company Ten different partners and six different franchisees. He's the all except one lived in Rochester New York and they moved to various parts of the country. And we got started that way We had a cool or at least I had to go that we would someday consolidated that one company and either it'd be a public corporation or else sell allowed to another company and every year. We added salespeople We try to average of seven percent. More people more salespeople arrear today we have over twenty five hundred people in the field sales representative. Wow Okay so now you got twenty five hundred people in the in the field is either out there. Selling six hundred seventy thousand customers one yacht when Super Super Buddy. This is not a little dinky out there. Yeah Yeah so so when did you. When did you get inspired to write your new book? I mean what. Tell me so. Tell us about your new book called. What inspired you to write this new book okay? The book is called built. That born built that born we picked up title because it sort of this very well described. The process wasn't born with any money was didn't inherit any CETERA ET CETERA. Build it from scratch. When I started the company I had three three thousand dollars and three credit cards in my name People have been asking me to write a book and I thought it was the right amount of biography but in talking to various publishers. One of them's suggested why don't you write a business book. I and I said she's that might be a good idea and talking to him on the phone. I started writing down the table of contents about what I would want to say. It flowed real easy so I decided editor right the Business Book Harpercollins publisher and is being released in middle. Chevy way I would like to get your take on this because your book title is because it's a built not born a self made billionaires no nonsense guide for entrepreneurs now's the I'm gonNA ask a passive aggressive mentorship session for you right now so I'm going to. I've I've got a friend of Tom. Hypothetically he goes by last name Zellner not this cylinder but a different want and he only owns about ten percent of a bank and he's struggling and he's got the the one optometrist Tom Clinic. That's doing the most revenue in in his state of not you as someone else very successful auto auction and other companies and he wants to build a he wants to get to the bees zone he wants to go from the end zone zone from the millionaire status to the billionaire status. What tip hip would you have for my friend not not not not our co host here not you but someone what typically have for somebody who's already a multi millionaire who wants to become a billionaire well the way we did it and the way I probably would advise people to do is doing plateaus paychecks at fifty thousand clients we set our say On a hundred thousand clients got under way so to fifty and so forth until we got it up to the point that we're at The other thing we did a very good job combination of luck and good management. We pick the market that huge. You know the numbers businesses and United States is at least twelve or fifteen million million of them in today even today with our success and other companies successes you had all the payroll processes together. We still have about twenty percent of the market who is a huge marketplace. So that's one of the things that serve. It was very very well but the other thing is we didn't try to do it. And Big Gulps we did it in Small Mall Plateaus and when you have a product that you know works and you can make money at it. It's a good way to go. So how do you differentiate yourself so eighty percent of that like you said you had twenty percent of the of the available marketplace. How many of the do you know how many others are using a payroll company? And how do you differentiate from those other payroll payroll companies. Well if there's let's say there's fifty million businesses and that means the payroll processes all together have Three million and. I think that's pretty close to be very accurate How do we differentiate ourselves? Well I you're a client. I hope you feel. You'd get very personal service and we're very responsive We have software that I think is very comprehensive and fifth most situations. People don't need to change services Were as you said earlier. We price fairly low so we're Very competitive in that area The poor thing I would say is our sales organization is very well trained in the product and the product knowledge You're not going to buy a payroll service from a sales person that comes in your door and doesn't seem to know what they're talking about and that very confident so we spend a lot of time and effort for training. Our salespeople honor service how it works and the benefits to the customer. You don't say this as far as paychecks. My three reasons I love these guys. One is the pricing unbelievable to their super accurate and the price the accuracy. Everything is they say. Yes all the time you call and say I have a question and they go. Yes how can I help you and other payroll companies so you probably know with this too with a can't give you a straight answer. No one calls you back. I mean these guys do it right I I really. I really do like like this. And I think you tomor our source source of wisdom and a lot of things but in your book you write about some stuff that I think is controversial and so I would like to bring up some of the things and if you just hang up and that'll be are little codes either. The question compare enough in your book. You talk like we used to talk about riding finding a pre-nuptial or even post-nuptial agreement it's very critical to any business owner. You're saying it's it's very critical for any business owner to have a pre nuptial and post hosts natural agreement Explain what a pre-nuptial post nuptial agreement is and why you think it's important for any business owner well. pre-nuptial agreement is an agreement agreement between two parties. Who are about to get married? As to how they wouldn't distribute assets that they accumulate or come in with before the at the time of the marriage. Posting up is just an agreement ridden after marriage When the two parties decide it's appropriate? Here's why it's so important. I'm sure you've heard of business. The people that have gone into business nope premier premarital prenuptial agreement or post they go into business. They're successful and then one day they decide that they're going to split up. Well that puts the entrepreneur and a real bad situation. Because chances are he's going to have to make. There's some sort of payments to the to the other spouse and that'd be require that the business be sold and there you are now in a situation where the business has to be filled. You're not going to be selling at the time you want to sell it most naturally Or at a time when you can maximize somebody's the sale price so it ends up being a real tussle and sometimes could you know make a divorce proceeding very very sensitive and very very you know what I'm GonNa do. Is We have solicitors out there. Who are saying this right away I can? I can hear the listeners. Saying this right now. They're going but what would be the point of being married to somebody. You Know Tom if you're not committed to it working out somebody there's thinking this and they're going by signing pre-nuptual I am. I'm before it even starts conceding that it's not gonNA work workout. I know that's the argument. People are saying out there. What would you say to that I would say? Pre operative post NUP is a contingency. I M okay. We also have to remember fifty percent of marriages today in the United States of America. End Up in divorce. And that's the reality you gotta you got to Face keep in mind you know sixty seventy or a hundred years ago when the life expectancy was so different than it is today or two hundred years ago But today marriage is being so long and people change you. Desire to change their motivation to change and a postman upper pre-nup. We'll you know. Take care that continuously so that when the time comes unfortunately if it does come It'll be more easily settled. I I definitely get to pre-nup I've I've heard about those about those. That's I understand but posts nut. That's close enough. This is the first time I've heard about that. Mu How do you how you picked up. How do you bring that up over a cocktail? Like hey honey. Guess what I think's a great idea in other words together and things are working out. Well my buddy billionaire Tom. Tom Founder of paychecks. He asked me. He told me the advice. He's given us his eye on this book. I opened up here says we should get together and talk about how we're going to break it up. No I I totally get it but I mean that's Super Boob right there post nap. That's kind of a super move because being part you're a business person you have to be a pretty good negotiator to there you go. That's true. Okay Tom I have another question for you here in your book again. And this is a new book. Built not born self made billionaires no nonsense guide for entrepreneurs in the book you talk about this idea of going against the grain to generate opportunities. Are you talking about petting a cat backwards. Or what are you talking about. Well I thought I gave you an example Tampa earlier the payroll processing industry. Back in the sixties and seventies was focused on a much different market paycheck focused on it went after larger companies. Funny.

"Owner of the previous owners at called this Laurel and what I took it over. We decided we'd leave the name the same because it does do a certain amount of charter business and we didn't want people to lose track of the boat load because we changed the name the wake and I wrote pricing per minute. Oh absolutely you'd like us to raise your prices. You feel better. No no no hello paychecks. Also no no no no no wife and I. We've talked about this and we were saying this is years ago. Did you just cold call. Did you show up were you doing you know what I did. I ace put together. A mailing lists from the Roster Chamber of Commerce out about three thousand letters early November nineteen seventy and I was hoping to get sixty clients out of best mailing. I ended up getting six. Good thing my wife took on a job and a charitable organization but we survived it and then it was just a matter of Eddie clients here after here. What was your low point when growing the business because doctors you started your first business? I started my first business. I worked at Applebee's target and direct ATV when I was starting. "Wanted to be in business for myself. Probably my college days I had some experiences watching my father and business who eventually ended it up going bankrupt and I saw some of the things he went through and I vision some of the things I wouldn't do if I was in that position and so when I went to college I just focused entirely on the idea that someday I wanted to be in business. Being an entrepreneur is the only way to go. Where did you every but at at least for me? Where did you go to college? I went to a small two year college in Alfred. New York called altered. State tack was in the Southern Tier of the state they are they going to rename it. Paychecks University Name is already used in our training department. Okay Okay Well I. I'm sure they're they're proud of you. Now how did you first start the company. Were you in the dorm room. Helping your buddies right. Paychecks for their side hustles. Or how did you get started. You start paychecks. Well actually I was working for a company that did payroll processing for larger companies. Their target market was fifty employees up to five hundred employees and I was in sales and then they eventually made salesman June. I was driving down the street one day and I got to thinking you know. Most businesses in America Erica have less than fifty employees. So I went to the library. Compare that and I found out ninety. Eight percent of all American businesses have less two hundred employees in ninety five percent have less than fifty employees and I decided that was a market. Nobody was attacking going after after. So I decided based on my knowledge working for that payroll processing companies to make somebody vacations to their product and how they operated oriented and put it together to see if I could come up with a product line or a payroll processing product. That would put the need and basically I did three things that were different in those days. Back in the sixties and seventies people used to fill up COMP- fairly really complicated computer input cheats Which means they end to be trained in how to do it? And then the information had to be physically transferred to the payroll processor by a delivery or by mail I got the idea for example in average fifteen employees company. They could just call in on the telephone. A trained operator professional on the other end would extract from the client. Exactly what they wanted to do. For their particular employees it was the cheaper and it was much more accurate than the customer filling out an input sheet. The second thing is back in those days nobody in the payroll processing business. This was completing payroll tax returns. If you're an employer in New York state for example you have a minimum of fifty two payroll tax returns and payments must be made every a year. And if you don't do it properly on time. The fines are pretty pretty strong and third. We had a price. It's so small. Companies could afford awarded the average minimum charge back in nineteen seventy was about twenty four dollars a pay period only eating only if you had one or two employees. Well well we brought it down to about a dollar a checker dollar a person Yup and charging at that level now. When I had all his ideas I went to my employer and I jeff? Let's start up this division. I'd be glad to run it for you. Know be a major part of it. They said they didn't want to go after the small company market. They didn't think it was going to be profitable the best thing that happened to me because I resigned a few months later and started paychecks. The paychecks a company that my wife and I used for our businesses and see. I'm always amazed at how they do it so inexpensively I'm serious. I'm not just saying this because he's on our show. I've been using paychecks forever and my wife and I have thought about in years past that you're looking at the budget. You might say you know. Let's see if we can trim costs and Area A or B and we're always saying to ourselves we could not possibly probably provide a service. We couldn't do this ourselves. That are somebody yes. I'm just blown away my my. I'm getting nervous here so blown away. What what questions did you have for the founder of paychecks? Because this guy has been solving my problems for years I like him a democratic. You go by doctors these. I'M GONNA CALL IS MR G is coming told me anyway. I've I've got a question. You're a super yacht correct. Yes they do now did Jakarta super-yacht how does that work or they already named. When the guy constructing dams yours is named still have his name Laurel when I find online? Did you name it. So what does that mean to you not much basically second.

Hockey News Releases Its '100 People of Power'... Only 4 Were Women

"Look at the foibles PERV Curva lease and mistakes that are made in the hockey media like for example forgetting about all of the influential women on your influential people at hockey. The hockey news put out. It's annual People Power Influence in the hockey industry list. It has a hundred people on it. Ninety six of them were men a There was also a top fifteen media the head. One woman on it. That was Cassie Campbell Pascal. Who's also on the top one hundred list? There was a list of fifteen fifteen non NHL executives somehow. Danny Ryland didn't make that list despite being the Commissioner of the National Women's Hockey League Jayna Hefford also do not make the list it is. It's stunning to me. Like the women that made the top one hundred list were Campbell. Pascal Hillary Night Kim Davis of the NHL and and Hayley wickenheiser maids list. And you think about all of the people that could have made that cut. Here's one that absolutely absolutely stuns me. They have Terry PA- Gula at like number thirty. Something and Kim Gula who if you ask literally anybody buddy within the orbit of the Buffalo Sabres who runs the team. Why it's Kim Pula doesn't make the list you know? Alexandra mandrake you. Who've who've the Seattle franchise hired basically straight away to be their analytics? Group does not make the list. PARV underhill skating. Grew credited by so many people people in this league for improving there game does not make the list you'll to Grad of the NHL. In charge of concussion. Stuff does not make the list like I understand that the immediate default a fall argument is well when you went to quota. I just want you to expand your view beyond every you know dude. WHO's a CEO dude who's the GM dude who's an owner and just default setting to those people being on these lists? Because you know what. Guess what I was on this list. It's a nonsense list. You could literally put uh-huh anybody on this list if you wanted to but you chose to put four women on it out of hundred. That's crazy. Yeah you said you were shocked by Eh. I'm not I think this is a reflection of the views of women and women's hockey particularly. Because you mentioned you know Yes yes Danny Ryland should be on this list. Yes Jayna Hefford should be on this list there. The two women who essentially are figureheads guiding this really tricky landscape of women's professional hockey. Not Right now but this is just how we view women's hockey this. This is how it is. The institutional bias that comes from media comes from other areas. And look were you and I are both guilty of it as well. I don't cover women's hockey as well. They should've I. I'm sure you feel the same way. But the fact that they can't even be recognized like this shows the uphill battle that we have to yeah and the biggest the biggest failing for me. And when we're talking I'm really admit those that I cover it more much more from the perspective and from maybe the the personality perspective that I do the actual casual gameplay perspective on the meaning or as guilty as anybody of knocking the indicate shell a certain level of credibility if I just kind of you know covering it from a what does this mean for women's Women's hockey and here's an interesting player story kind of aspect versus which team is actually leading in the standings. That's that's that's obvious But again like like hundred people on your list and four there were women like there is ample and it's not even it's not even like you know should we force somebody on there to know. Oh there's people that are evidently qualified. You put Don Cherry on the list as a person power influence. He lost all his power and influence this year ear. Congratulations on the hockey

"Eric resear- is joining me now. And boy, it was CB J on fire that this is going to be a fun final home game for them tomorrow. Yeah. I think so it'll be against the Boston Bruins, seven o'clock puck drop, and you're probably gonna expect Sergei Bobrovsky in net. And he leads the league in shutouts. Unreal. Got his ninth one last night in that four nothing feeding of the Buffalo Sabres, and there's a team that looks pretty listless. It's buffalo and unfortunately for them it's going to be a long off season if they're going to fire their head coach even though he's in his second year. But you've got a big win on Saturday night against the Nashville predators couldn't have gone any better for the jackets this weekend. Who now? Jump into that first card spot and avoid for right now the Tampa Bay Lightning, but NBC's projection has them against the Washington Capitals in the first round. So I did go on Twitter and ask the question who right now would you rather see the jackets face in the first round the Washington Capitals or the Tampa Bay Lightning? And so far seventy five percent say they'd rather see the capitals over the lightning. But there's a question there last this throughout the show is look the capitals have been your boogeyman the past two seasons. But the lightning are the best team in hockey. So it's kinda like you do you want to try an exercise that demon? You wanna try to face hockey's best team? It's a team that's playing now. The one that played versus the predators on Saturday that team the one that's played the last few games. Do they they have a real shot? Yes. Against the capitals right now, they have a better shot against the capitals. Jackets fans is focused on this field. A team that's playing the best. But again, so it'll be Boston tomorrow night the New York against the Rangers Friday Saturday against the Ottawa Senators from the central. Hello. Hi. Oh Honda dealers sports desk. If we still got some time, Eric Reaser, NewsRadio six ten WTVN. I did want to give you some props though on your minute man madness bracket with the Auburn Tigers making their way into the final four like you said from the beginning of this. It was something look if they beat Kentucky. I I don't think there's a team that they can't beat right now. Because again, Kentucky looked almost as good as anybody. And so for your Auburn Tigers who have Virginia and look this is as bad of a final four matchup as the network could have hoped for CBS. Auburn in Virginia will be your first game Saturday at six that Texas Tech and Michigan state. So boy, here's what it's come down to for the VIP. It's me and Tony White and he is up by a few. He's got Virginia. Final game. I've got Auburn in the final game. Whoever wins this game on Saturday is in essence going to win it. And if you'll just remind listeners how many times you've felt that a bracket. None. This would be my first time just goes to show you that to everybody. Well, you said the broken clock. Right twice. I'd say it's more than that. Because brother, you did it as good as an or is better as anybody could have asked for so again.

"Upper right, hand corner Twitter Facebook Instagram Twitter is where I reside most of the time. But Sergey Steve does a great job with Instagram and Facebook, but Twitter at. Cigar. Dave show is my handle and follow me along not just for cigar and alpha male related maneuvers. We get into politics. I get into anything that I enjoy whether it's aviation sports awful low Bill. Syracuse Orangemen Tampa Bay Lightning Buffalo Sabres you name. It. We get into it. Fear. Not. All right. Let me reintroduce our guests. I up somebody Dave covina's a resident who's been doing this with us? I don't know twenty some odd years it's over twenty years. Yeah. General hard to believe. Sure is and this is, but it's been fun. And the great thing is every year. No matter if we do champagne or sparkling, we do Irish whiskey we do. Cognac or we do cabernet sauvignon. There's always new spirits and wines to try. And that's the best thing about it. I was just gonna say that for all the years doing bourbon, there's all these other bourbons now that have come on look at all the different Irish whiskeys. That's right. The end of the year when we do the sparkling wine. I've always got a nice French champagne or in American sparkling wine to bring it turned you onto and it's really unique. And we talk about Irish whiskeys it has it really went into a long period of decline. But it started a renaissance a resurgence much like cigars did cigars about twenty three twenty four years ago. But when you look at Irish whiskeys, probably in the last seventy years, we've seen a major explosion and angel Benitez the senior executive general manager of all the corona cigar stores in Orlando three in Orlando and the Davidoff Geneva store lounge here in Tampa. You now have full liquor bars at all of the locations and you've seen an increase a big spike in Irish whiskeys as well. We have Jameson still holds strong. But you know, it's kind of funny because there's so many other Irish whiskeys out there, and I tell them or do is it it's a really really good one. And we've got him. We're going to sample that Dave Tournus onto that about three years ago. Three years. Oh, like crazy repackaged beautiful packaging, and we've got a couple that I'm looking here that I'm not familiar with lamb bay. They're small batch and lambaste single malts Monday day. Tell me about Lambie, sir, right off the coast of Ireland, which is Irish territory is an island called Lambie. The whiskey is brought to the island and cognac barrels it because it's on the island. It gets all that sea salt, which will give it a little I dine in the cast will be exposed to all the very nice sea salt air, so lamb bay here. We've got your single malt and a. It's a small batch and a small batch. Thank you very much. So we're going to go off with the single malt. I it's going to have a really nice mahogany Brown. Color to it. The aromas gonna be green fruit. Here's your ripe bananas again that one you like, and you're gonna tasteful coconut mall and dry, berries and fruit with this. It's gotta be real nice got a little bit of spiciness to this. Well, as I look at the bottle. This reminds me exactly of the Breckenridge American whiskey, Bob. Yeah. It's the same exact same bottle. I looked at it. But again, I love the packaging definitely not your traditional little bit more edgy almost looks like there's a penguin looks like a guy that looks like a penguin almost with the with the tuxedo. There's word there's a plane on here. And again when I look at this to me this this screams fun. Yeah. This. So this is the single malt finished in cognac cash triple distilled blended with their Lambie island. Trinity well-water finished in cognac casks. I cannot wait to get to this. You're looking around. Fifty three dollars a bottle for this. And as far as the Glasgow's, there's only so many glassmakers they're outselling glassware to the different distilleries. So that's where you'll get the repetition on whether it's whisky rum vodka. You'll get the same looking glass. Well, I'll tell you this right off the bat. Lot going on a lot going on sweetness. Some sizzle on here some spice taking on. Yeah. That's for it being aged out there. Oh, yeah. Island not not it doesn't. It's not super sharp words going to knock you down. But it's got that. Sizzle coming down angel. Would you think it's pretty good? You get that little sweetness. And then that spice I'm getting a cognac that little finish Dylan. I'm gonna take that one. These are unbelievable. I mean, every once somebody Dave every one that you have selected so far has been outstanding. Well, general the is always on to give you the top of the line. So very fortunate that the brands I represent our back quality. Now this to me I'm getting on the on the pallet here. Getting a little bit. Trying to think a little cognac a little bit of almost a malt coconut, not a mall. Not a coconut. I'm trying to it's almost it's a sweet raise any type of tastes. I can't tried Perry for now. Yeah. And he hits the front of the mouth it. Does it does like a little sizzle and then it teams right down. But this is delicious fantastic. Now next up from by the way, who Lamba is at a new distillery. That's yeah. This brand new. It's. Brought to the United States by cognac. Supplier came. This is there. What's what's happening is the suppliers for all branching out? They have tequila vodka. They have whiskey and this is their whiskey. Let me take a look at other. I just noticed this on the back label. They actually have a taste grid where here are the different. It's a circle, and they've got balanced fruity floral Woody multi salty, spicy sweet body. And what they do is. They actually have a little grid on here. And. Post this because I'm the one that we just had the Lambie single malt finished in cognac, basically tends towards the fruity the floral the Woody the multi and the sweet. Now, we're going to go to the Lambie small batch blend Irish whiskey. Also, this is the small batch plan. Correct. But this is the single this is the single, wait. Is that was that the single malt? Yeah. That's single malt. That we just had to this is the small. Okay. So we reversed it. Okay. Right. So basically, all right. So let me just I made a little mistake. Okay. Got now. So the Lambie whiskey this one it says looking at this particular, this is going to be more sweet and spicy it. Just goes right on right? Yeah. Little little bit of floral, but not in really ten stores, the sweet and spicy. So let me. Pour that will take that. And again looking at this little bit lighter in complexion. Yes. Little bit lighter in complexion. So let me swirl this around here with it being a single batch. You're not gonna get, you know, the different we'll say cheers colors of the different blends. And all that that you have. Definitely sweet and spicy. They hit it right on the nose. Yeah. Man. This is great. He's two that's thirty bucks a bottle thirty dollars. So you get the wood. That's really good which is the spice and it had a little bit. It's sweetness to it. Yeah. Little lighter on the palate. Also Grech little bit lighter on the it's not as viscous as the other because of the cognac, but I to put this one too. I love this just said it over there. I mean, if if I never had another bourbon or scotch whisky just had all of these very happy. I mean, this is a I think more people need to be turned on Irish whiskey triple fermentation process explained that against somebody. Dave why that's so important. Well, because it softens it up. Would you do the double distillation at the end of it? You're going to have a little bit of the harshness from that lasts distillation. So when you do a third dislocation it softens it up. Plus, the fact that it's either call them distilled, which is continues distilled or pot still which is just one particular distillation, and they do that three times. Just softens it up all the way round. I'm already Paul. Bradley black-market, filthy hooligan, Barbara Paul it pairs up perfectly every single Irish whiskey. I don't know if Alec Bradley. Jim and Ralph Montero Jorge Sosa if they intended to do that. But this just pairs beautifully any Irish whiskey. It is just so smooth. And it just it's very complimentary. One doesn't overpower the other now very nice. All right. Next up. We're going to go into to do. Now somebody Dave, you expose me to l'amour do that was a relatively new single malt or new Irish whiskey about five years ago. Maybe a little bit longer. You you introduce me to to more do the bottles were different. They've read they've rebranded it. It's much more elegant much more noticeable on a shelf now. Yeah, it goes all the way back to the seventeen hundreds to Lamar do where they. Started and everything and a stable boy who then eventually became the president of the distillery has taken it to where it is today. Of course, he has passed many years ago, but his great grandson, now's running it and his name was. Dawson e Williams, and that's where the do comes from. It's from the town of Tula more. That's what d e w. Yeah, that's his initials that's his his first name middle name. And last name all right now to Lamar do which just opened up a new distillery back in seventeenth. So it's like a year and apple okay? One of the first to come and started going from three distilleries to the fourth distillery, and we are going to be sampling five different only four. We don't have their regular one. I thought you were bringing it. So I didn't bring my I thought I did did I not know because a lot of people have tried to l'amour. Do they've done a great marketing job. It's out every go wrong with it. I sweet smooth very very nice, and it's just a retail for the regular tilamortgage like nineteen dollars a barrel. No, all right. So we've got the two l'amour. Do we got the twelve year old twelve got the fourteen year old? And we we've got ten we've got the ten. In the twelve to fourteen and the Caribbean. Casper. Okay. We don't have the cider gas now. Okay. Got it. So let me scratch that one off. So we've got the ten the twelve fourteen and the rum cast. This is going to be interesting. So let's start with the two l'amour do twelve. We've got that right here. All right fantastic. We're going to or this. You're going to get a little bit of spice on this. It's going to have a deep robust taste. It's going to be right on the nose big-time pair..

"Blue jackets are tied at three goals apiece. Doc. All right. Let's check out scores around the NHL twelve games tonight. They're almost all final and. The. Three massive nights of hockey this week for some reason, there's just almost every team is on the Avs schedule right now where it's game day off game day off. So we're having these met like Thursday night, there's fourteen hockey games. And then on Saturday, there's fourteen hockey games. Like in the NHL like this is a good time of the year. All right. The finals look like this. Well, I guess if easier pledges to tell you about the one of the game that's currently underway. Right. The Edmonton Oilers taken on the Chicago Blackhawks as we speak. They have played two periods of hockey. They're in Edmonton and the Oilers had themselves a two one lead over Chicago. The Boston Bruins taken on the New York Islanders. That's a two of the three teams are going to face on this upcoming trip. They take on the capital's in Washington on Thursday. And then they go back to back Saturday and Sunday against the New York Islanders and then the Boston Bruins. The Bruins beat the aller snipe. Boston gets the three one victory is Bruins scored twice there in the third period. Depict the win. Patrice Bergeron score two goals. Say eighteen on the season. This is a game. He's remember for a while. He scored two goals and tonight was his one thousand career game there so became for Patrice and took caress who made twenty eight saves. The Bruins get the three one win over the islanders. Buffalo Sabres taken on the y. I really wish buffalo could held onto this lead. The the sabers were up two goals. And in the wild scored three in the second both teams tack on one in the third. So they go into overtime. So many picks up the point no matter what. But luckily buffalo wins it in the shootout five to four sabres with the victory and the wild with the one point now fifty seven points over here, the central the Panthers did the same thing. Florida panthers. Had a two goal lead against the Saint Louis blues, and they kicked it Panthers up two nothing in the third period. No less and then the blue score three in the third to show up and over Florida get the three two victory. Saint Louis now is one point ahead of the avalanche Saint Louis with the two points that are now sitting on fifty three which is insane considering how they started the season the LA kings were in New Jersey taking on the devils. And the kings have starting to play some good hockey. They score five tonight. They got forty eight points with the five one victory over the devils. Tyler toffoli with two goals. He scored those in the thirty scorgeous thirty five seconds apart in that one to just pay two quick goals and the king's roll over the devils. Pittsburgh ping was host the Carolina Hurricanes night for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tonight was totally awesome. Eighty s night. So they had everything everything was eighty s and they had some eighties band. I can't remember who it is. But what would I do? Remember is that the pay one set up there at PJ PPG paints arena in Pittsburgh, they set up miss pacman and Calica in all those eighties video games all the way around the concourse, and they were free for anybody to play. So you could go to the Pittsburgh Penguins game tonight and play video games all night. And then watch the pig was get hammered. They got smashed. I four nothing by the Carolina Hurricanes. But I'm always there for a good eighties. Eight the capital's taking on the connects get the win three two two is TJ OC scores. His sixteenth season. Rain hope he makes thirty saves caps with that three to win sixty four points to connects still on fifty four they still hold the final spot there in the Western Conference currently with their fifty four points there. Two points ahead of the Avs one point ahead of Saint Louis. Three points ahead of Edmonton. Arizona and Lanman Anaheim and a five points ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks that's how jam packed the Western Conference is as of late the Montreal Canadians taken on the ducks tonight and mantra wins that one four two one. Carey price for twenty four saves between the pipes the Vegas Golden Knights in the Tampa Bay Lightning just went into shoot out. And it's the nights getting the win and shoot up fashion three to two, but Tampa still picks up a point which means the lightning are now at eighty one points leading. Everybody in the NHL, the predators had not too many problems with the cowardice is the press get the five to win Filip Forsberg is nineteenth of the season sharks. And jets went at it. Here's something I disliked completely a three point game over here in the west that the sharks and jets went into overtime and the sharks get the three two win over Winnipeg joepat Belsky his twenty ninth of the season. It looks like who that Logan couture scored the overtime winner there for San Jose Sharks win with jets pickup point. They now have seventy one on the year. That's what the NHL looks like quickly over to the NBA to hit you with some scored. The Celtics have the Cavaliers one of three to ninety six. How about this score Lakers rolled into Indiana Pacers tonight Pacers won that game one thirty six to ninety four Indiana. Just the Lakers. Lebron James eighteen points, seven rebounds, nine assists, clippers over the Hornets. One seventeen to one fifteen the pistons roll into New York and beat the Knicks. But who doesn't do that one? Oh, five ninety two Detroit with win raptors handled. The Sixers one thousand nine one zero seven grizzlies get a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. How do you like them? Apples one eight one zero six Memphis and the thunder beat the magic one thirty two to one twenty two in our gained. The blue jackets are tied up at three goals apiece after two periods of hockey with a massive third period..

"But not better than those Buffalo Sabres ten wins in a row, and it's not even those unbeaten on it's not like they're not like seven three in their last ten. No, that's ten. Oh, that's right. Hockey baby they've been so the the the Browns have been unbeaten in five games this year. Hockey phrase, they've been unbeaten and five of their eleven games. They could hurt a stat. Buffalo's the first team ever to be last in the league and points and then the next year to twenty five. Legally, they love their hockey in western New York, man. Speaking of the Browns, we kind of made some news here. Yes. Roy I an eagle did calling. Sure. Wow. So I you know 'cause I and has seen a ton. And he's calling tonight's game on the radio in Dallas before he goes to the black hole to call the chiefs and the the raiders for CBS with Dan Fouts. And I asked him it has he seen Baker Mayfield yet this year. Sometimes just the simple question leads to the wildest answer. And he goes, yeah. That they did as referred to Hugh Jackson's finale, which I told him as a great acoustic album, and and in the pre show meeting with the pre broadcast meeting the day before meeting with the head coach him and Dan Fouts were in there and this exchange went down. It's funny because we look back now on that needing and Dan Fouts asked him he said, well, you've got Baker Mayfield. Why aren't you running more of the stuff that he ran it? Oklahoma and said, yeah, I agree. Will what's the answer? I agree. We walk out of here thinking what is going on here? And obviously that was the end of the line. And we were not shot when they made the decision that just see to be a complete disorganized chaos now. Again, we kinda didn't dive into it was that mean. Yeah, I agree that either one thing is that he refused to put it in there or wasn't buying that. That was the best way that Baker Mayfield could succeed for him. And even though a hall of fame quarterback who's in all of fame because he played for one of the most genius offensive minds. Don coryell who should be in the hall of fame at some point. Is asking you the most basic question about why aren't you doing the stuff that is in the wheelhouse of the kid that you're playing and he goes, yeah. I agree because he doesn't want to use that. I said different way. I took it as yeah. I agree. Meaning I want to do this what Hugh but Todd Haley up, but that he wants to run a different offense. That is where things really go sideways because in the pecking order its head coach first and then assistant aka coordinator. So does that mean that there was a John Dorsey mandated owner approved flow chart that Todd? Haley was the only one who could run the offense in the way that he saw fit 'cause that wouldn't make sense. We saw something completely different in hard knocks was that same. Claire what is that? Mean that was as Ian said that yes, it was the same week where he said, I'm going to take more control, whatever. Right. And so what does that mean? I agree that I can't run the offense that I want because the offense of coordinators of what? An a whole. I mean seriously is somebody that I can't look in the face and say, we're doing it my way that's kind of how I heard it. And apparently don't remember that he was asked have you reached out to Lincoln Riley for any thoughts on on what they did there? So you could incorporate to what you're doing here. And he said nine ever did that we have the film. It's just so nuts and confusing and on its face derelict of duty. It's real dumb. But he's not dumb. He's a smart guy. What the hell is going on there? And again, what it all means. Is that when Baker Mayfield extended saints giving the bro hug and came out? And basically said this is the way I feel eat it. I don't care if you like it or not he is only giving voice what I think the rest of the locker room feels and anybody that sees this whole instance. Of. "You nail that. He just he broke down the game. Was so intelligent, but yet he simplified it for idiots like me and he talked about the Kevin Miller thing. I don't want to give it away, but you're just like, yeah, I mean, never really thought about it like that and for a guy of that caliber to be able to dumb it down and now be able to explain it and help these guys. It's, I mean, you don't really see it that often. I mean, is there is there an example in other sports or even in hockey itself? As far as guy who's been that good now devoting his time to make the game better, and I don't wanna give too much away, but he is doing that. That's proven twenty four of his guys believe you mentioned have had had career highs last season. So what this guy is doing is effective and more and more guys are jumping on and to name drop a little bit recently. Connor mcdavid and Jonathan tasers the last two to reach out right before the season and look at Taves as you lighten it all. He's. Lading early. He's he's scored his fifth goal last year. I believe in somewhat of mid-november any at five through four periods, five periods this year. I used to it. Nice. You've all your back at NHL network. I wanted to say, I mean, how about the minute? Notice? Stats coming out of my asshole. When I'm here at any papers flying at me, I'm circling things. I'm writing things down. How about this one? The Buffalo Sabres right? They have a winning record right now for the first time in two thousand and eighty three days. Two thousand eighty three days. Like I said, a math guy. So people tell me ten million three hundred sixty five goes into two thousand eighty three. Both five times seven times. Yeah, definitely five guys, seven. The ear. Two, seven, five, seven years of of not having a winning record. That means they couldn't even go one in, oh, they didn't win their first game for that long. Maybe two and one. So the sabers boys, Jack Eichel looks great. I think that I know I'm going to little sabres ran, put. It was just more me all, you know what they deserve it man, they, we've been beating them up for the last few years and everyone's been ragging on them, happy for that organization and their families. The point total is only seventy nine point five this year going into the year. I hammer that didn't you read a blog saying to hammer it? Yeah. Yeah, I did. And actually some kid came up to me at the bar the other night, and that was the worst blog I've ever read in my entire life abors fucking suck. And I'm like, fuck you, buddy. I go. Jack Eichel is going to win the heart this year and you eat your heart in the heart. He's having to Taylor hall year. That's tough. Austin tad, but RA speaking of gambling. But I want for someone here about your you had a tough week last week. I did. As I mentioned the last episode I get a historically bad week. I've been gambling Jit over forty years. I came out of the womb dropping nickels and dimes kid. I did. Yeah. When your parents get divorced in the seventies, it wasn't a big deal. If dad dad took it to the racetrack and his one ninety ad is so a lot of trips troops, the Wendell in Brooklyn when I was probably fucking diapers still. So yet, again, wins into jeans. I are awful week. Last week I started off this week. Terra. We need to hear numbers. Are fans deserve numbers. How much. A lot more people are gonna guess amoun of I lost it on the tax. I heard it. Floozy I lost. I lost undefined figures last week. I mean it was go whack for a few grand last week. See the week, like I was saying seventy five hundred less than that little between five and seven. We'll blank. That's. I mean it's still makes me puke ma'am. Last year and that number in just flows of listens, don't gamble. And Paul, I was mentioned before the gambling week starts Monday. It goes till Sunday, so you bet all week and whatever you out. When you wake up Monday morning, if you're up, you collect if you down, you pay a lot of guys. Like, you know, I've been using my guys for for for decades..

"Can ken harrelson yeah and they were like the ultimate homers and it would drive me crazy and as i got older and i began to see more of the world i began to understand that there's room for everybody and if everybody sounded the same we'd all be boring as hell and secondly i realized also that you know you're working for the home team you may not i don't know how your situation goes i don't know you're paid by but you're a home team broadcast like rick gener at once told him buffalo's i'm not a journalist i'm entertainer i'm there to entertain the fans of the buffalo sabres in urine espn guy before you're doing world cup soccer when you got the bruins job how did you decide about okay this is the guy i'm going to be in this is the way i'm going to call the games that's a really interesting line of questioning because when i was espn i had equal enthusiasm for both teams no matter which teams were playing the other dynamic of that is that when you're working network job you may see a team eight times a year if you're really hitting that team with a lot of frequency most of my job at espn was doing espn two pacific division games so i knew the pacific division really really well i didn't know whole lot about the rest of the league because he was hit and miss when you're with a team for eighty two games a year or seventy two after the ones that nbc national takes you develop a prism through which you see the entire national hockey league and also as a regional broadcaster you understand that your audience sees it through that same prison and i've actually found that i can analyze an understand the nhl a whole lot better with that view than i ever was able to when i was working for yes bien in it's probably a result of the way my mind works which is i found the exiled as i had at espn were that i needed to have a spectrum that was a mile wide and about a quarter of an inch deep that i had to know something about.
