"A controversial bill targeting violent protesters is one step closer to becoming law here in Florida. The state Senate yesterday passed the anti riot bill HB one. The bill calls for harsher penalties for those involved in violent protests. The bill now goes to the governor who says he's looking forward to signing it into law. The A C L U, calls the bill a racist on Constitutional, disgraceful political stunt. Do you think there's some constitutional questions about a few aspects of Bill? I definitely think it was more of a political stunt because already laws on the books that deal with pretty much everything that's in the bill that racist. Excellent point again. It may be slow day in Tallahassee. They wanted to make this an issue. Yeah, and and it certainly became one. So that became big focus. And then you know, I hate to end on on a sad note. But but this is something that I think deserves a second mention. It's the end of the road for J. Lo and a Rod. She scoffs at the president's claim her party is trying to rig the Senate and gubernatorial elections, let's remember that the president said after his own election that there were three million votes in California that were illegally cast without any evidence whatsoever. And so here we go again, it's grossly irresponsible and completely inaccurate absolutely untrue. A recount of ballots by machine must be completed by Thursday and provisional ballots examined by hand must be done over the weekend with a final tally late. So. Sunday. Bob Costantini, Washington. I believe there is now a person who was a temporary worker the Broward County elections office who says she saw members of the staff of filling out ballots. She has since been fired and told not to return, but I believe she is actually signed affidavit to that effect. The word that comes out of Broward County just continues to be very concerning. The good thing is is that despite all of this shenanigans and just incompetence that we've seen governor Scott continues to lead in that Senate race and Rick desanta continues to lead in the governor's races. As we head into that recount, obviously lead not as big as they were originally on election night. But very confident that they will hold up, and they will they will move on to be a deserving. Those new offices in the other Senate race which election night looked like it was a Republican hold in Arizona now Republican congresswoman Martha mcsally has conceded to democratic congresswoman Gerston cinema in Arizona. So that's one seat that will be a democratic seat to after all, and that leaves us, of course, with with the Georgia governor's race, right? Yes. Thing in that race is that raises actually a very strong in the hands of Brian camp right now it is outside of the margin necessary for an automatic recount. And and Brian camp is moving forward with his transition plans. And it's really again this shameful that you have the democrat candidate Abrahams who refused to concede after you've got now here what five days after the election. It was originally called shortly thereafter, the margin is outside of that window for a recount that they're still doing everything they can just try to scrape and find votes that that don't exist, and it just shows much like what we saw back in two thousand sixteen as much as you have, you know, Debbie Wasserman Schultz out there who Rick day primary for Hillary Clinton, the DNC chair in your opening piece. And now she's claiming about, you know, the president not wanting votes counted and things like that. This is a this is a party that reject the did. V twenty sixteen presidential election outcome. They wanted to throw it say oh with all the Russians fault for now. Here they want to believe that there's no corruption shenanigans going on in Florida, and in some cases, Georgia as well. Do we have any idea when this vote count is going to be over in Florida? And I think Thursday is the official deadline, but haven't we already heard from Broward County that no it won't be ready by then. Yeah. It's like every time. There is a deadline set whether it was on election night, whether it's under court order, you have the Broward County executive that just keeps pushing it back saying, they don't they aren't gonna meet the deadline. They can't meet the deadline. The law says by Thursday, I believe at one o'clock she's already saying that she's not going to meet that. So you have to wonder what's going on when even former governor Jeb Bush, the man who appointed the Broward County elections supervisor following the incompetence of the previous one he's even saying that she's got to go. She's been found to have destroyed ballots in twenty sixteen. So you just don't know what's going on in their. Yes. The track record certainly for that office and Brenda Snipes. This individual is pretty amazing. And so I I have to ask why is this person not gone? I mean, Rick Scott is still the governor and will be I guess till? January. Why is she not gotten and beyond that why is she not being prosecuted, maybe at the state as well as the federal level. Well, I think those are things that could come in due time. We are in the middle of a recount right now we are in the middle of of getting these these ballots in the in the final tally certified. So we need to let the system play out. I was very encouraged. A judge in Florida ordered the Broward County sheriff's office to to basically stationed deputies in the Broward County election areas that do not report to the supervisor. So that they report directly outside so we have some sort of independent verification that there's no illegal activity or improper activities taking place because up until now the only people that were watching security where people who were reported directly to that election supervisor. And I think that history shows that we just can't trust that to be done fairly. Is there some problem inherent in Florida? Is it technology is that people is it procedure. I mean, of course, those of us have memories of the year two thousand and the hanging Chad debacle. What's what Florida? You gotta wonder, but the one thing I'd say is that I mean, there are sixty seven counties in Florida sixty five of them got their vote count done. The Mets are mandated deadlines for reporting vote totals, and how many votes it was really just Palm Beach county and Broward County to democrat bastions in that state, especially Broward County that is just now flouting the law at every stretch, including ignoring court orders, you have to wonder what's going on there at some point. You think that the state is going to have to take a look at it? What is the the federal role here? Obviously the president's very concerned, obviously, you are keeping an eye on this. I understand that there's an army of lawyers that are standing by. Florida election races, the the lawyer full employment act of twenty eight gene. But what's what's next? However, this turns out there are a lot of lawsuits that have been filed will there be efforts at prosecution of what would be the game plan here. Well, there could be and obviously if a judge decides that the supervisor defied a court order, they could hold them in contempt and and take punitive actions against the original question, and this has always been a delicate balancing, and I'll tell you most of my public career has been spent in state and local government prior to joining the president and the vice president in twenty sixteen elections are run by the states, and they are very protective of their state bunch in in running elections across the nation, and while the federal government, they always want money, and we do offer partnership on cybersecurity and other technical kind of security measures. The state are very are very vocal in they run their own elections. And they don't want the federal government to take them over. But I'll tell you we keep seeing, you know, issues like what we see coming up here in Florida, and Georgia and other places where you've seen pockets of problems. It might be something where the federal government's going to have to take a greater role as especially when it comes to federal elections. Barked lottery.
