"From our health, he is, of course, the director of infectious diseases, Dr Joe Jeff, a good weekend. Sure did. Brandon. Good morning. Thanks for having me but, well, it's good to have you with us. Hey, I I know you're you're all serious, And you don't usually like to play games. But I thought you'd like this one covert factor fiction. We'll get started with, And I want to know this because I've read some crazy stories over the weekend. Can you still contract Cove? It? After being fully vaccinated. Yes, you can. And let's dissect that a little bit because people need to understand that Remember, no vaccine is 100% effective. When you look at the clinical trials for fire during Madonna, they were 94 95% effective against preventing symptomatic of a 19. What That means is one out of 20. People in those studies who received the vaccine still contracted covert 19. Now starting to see that being reported the news. Both Washington State and Michigan are reporting that from their health department last week, the state of Michigan released data showing 246 people who were fully vaccinated by report. Contracted covert 19 and even three died. But you have to take that into context in the state of Michigan over 1.8 million people are fully vaccinated with Maura, who have even started their vaccinations. So again. These vaccines are wonderful, but There are still going to be people who get fully vaccinated. The vaccine doesn't work for many reasons, and they die. Usually, you know the people who vaccines don't really work in our very elderly. And people on certain types of medications, which weaken their immune systems like transplant patients. So again, these vaccines are very safe and effective. But there will be people where the vaccine don't work for obvious reasons. When doctors so

Constellation Brands Q4 profit falls but beats analyst estimates

"Came in higher than expected. This is the beer wine and spirits company. Probably the best known brand in their portfolio is corona. Although i imagine there are some listeners who prefer some of their wines or spirits or mad at me for saying that. But i think that's fair to say the koran is the best known brand they have. The stock is down about five percent today is is this because of the guidance for the new fiscal year. Yeah i think there are a couple of moving parts on this. And i would say coronas definitely their best known brand and then. They've talked a lot over the last year about their modell brandon how it's gaining increasing market share. And i think modell outgrew the rest of the business. So that's one worth mentioning outside of you. Know all the wine and liquor brands but my interpretation was You know a little bit of a disappointing fourth quarter but it's misinterpreted in my opinion They have said a lot of their wine and spirits businesses over the last couple of quarters last couple of years to focusing on that high end kind of luxury brands specifically in wine and spirits so guidance was a little bit muted in that regard specifically i know that the free cash flow and cash flow from operations are expected to be substantially lower in their upcoming fiscal year versus what they just produced in in twenty twenty but You know. I think person it's a little little bit misunderstood to have that five percent jaw drawdown today. It is pretty interesting to

"Curiosity lab and peachtree corners. Georgia companies are testing new transportation technologies. For example. you can summon an electric scooter and it will roll up riderless and ready for you to hop on. Think uber but for an scooter. You pull up. You call it. The east cooter drives to you. Brandon brandon is chief technology officer for the city of peachtree corners which owns curiosity lap. That's used at the test. Track for technologies like the scooters and self driving electric shuttles and now part of the track is a solar road it's embedded with solar panels. That people can walk in drive on and they've here right on top of the roadway. So you don't have to bust up. The asphalt random says the manufacturer is evaluating. How the solar road performed with pedestrians bikes and cars and changing weather. Conditions can hold up on a roadway. What happens when it gets really hot. What happens when it rains. The Promise That Led Brandon Staley Into Coaching

"Daniel during his introductory press conference spec in january. We really got a sense. For what a true football nut brandon staley is. This is all i've ever wanted to do since i was a little kid. I started drinking coffee in the first grade and reading the sports vase. Because i wanted to be here doing this job. i do. You think he was being serious about that coffee in the first grade thing. Oh absolutely jason actually specifically mentioned that in my interview saying that he was doing that in the first grade coffee reading the sports section with his dad but he said it actually wasn't because he was a sports not it's because he wanted to be his father and admired him so deeply that he wanted to sit in the chair and drink coffee and read the sports page. Exactly like his dad did which i think. A lot of sons can relate to trying to mimic your father. But i thought that was sort of an interesting twist on it because when you first heard brandon say it it was oh he was obsessed with sports because i was reading the sports section in the first grade but it really was because he admired his father. Well daniel you. Recently wrote about brandon staley's path to becoming the chargers coach and stem from the loss of his mother and from his relationship with his twin brother. Jason i can just tell us a little about the relationship between brandon and jason. Yeah best friends is how i would describe it. And pretty much inseparable from birth to really good athletes in high school. And i think the way jason described it was from the outside looking in people. Thought there might be some animosity. Just because brandon was always the better athlete brandon. Was the point guard on the basketball team. Brandon was the star quarterback and jason sorta played second fiddle. But the way jason described. It was never liked that our relationship people really it was kind of it was like competitive between twins and yeah certainly working at it but always telling me and him against everybody

It's gonna trigger these little things in your head called cravings and it's going to put you in a position of a danger so what a loved one should do is not put them in that situation. Brandon is being a relationship especially in no one got it. If i had a dollar for every time somebody came back and said you know I the reason why. I actually went off. The rails is because i broke up with my boyfriend or my my husband aching exactly exactly. I've heard countless times countless times. When i don't even know who the hell. I am so so. We use that first year through the paid through self a self-inspection to be able to figure out who and what we are. So did we know what direction to go in relapse blows that all up. It just blows it all. That's why relapse. Oh so important. It needs to be address. Which is the reason why we're having this broadcast so as far as like how do you prevent a relapse for well. What do you start to do and start to think when you're starting to think about like Somebody let's say somebody has like something. Ernie thanks so much brandon as usual. Thanks for having me. So i guess today we're gonna talk bout a relapse and that kind of stuff so let's start off with a question. What tends to be the behaviors for people that are before they go through relapse. Okay well the standard line is that relapse happens. Way before ingestion of the substance or that behavior so The of it is the actual ingestion of the substance or the behavior. But you'll see people's behavior start to change. You'll see the not acting the way they act in a normal sober way You'll see them cut back on meetings. You'll see them Not have the involvement. They used to have But it doesn't have to be twelve stepped base somebody indications are this sleeping alive. They're angry ally You know just behaviors that are counter intuitive to what they usually present as a clean and sober man or woman. So when you're talking about like behaviors like sleeping a lot. How how would you know that. Somebody just not naturally tired or or if they're actually added sleeping at six o'clock at naturally tired you know. Everyone needs a nap. Now dan you know maps good but on a consistent basis if somebody is missing appointments or Missing work just again normal things level or who knows the loved one as well as as as you do. "They've been doing more more research. And they find that most of the people who suffer from mental health disorders. And you know it's bad enough to have addiction depression or if you have bipolar or any other of the addictions addictions but any other symptoms that go on with the disorder. It's so so important. It's more often not the emotional. The emotional things go on and because of the sprang chemistry and chemicals. We put in it lots of people. Lots of people have depression. And you know it. It's situational depression. It doesn't have to be clinical depression. You know situation you newly sober you still fighting with your mate. Your job is out is teetering. You know so you had these emotional problems that you have to deal with all the while you have to do with them sober so i see more of the mental health stuff now. I know you may be thinking. Oh you know. He's a carpenter. He's got a hammer everything. Looks like a nail follow that one But no i. I look at things Would would this. I open to anything. So i see these people coming in and i see that the problems at the having i am so so fortunate to not have any met while not having any menthols lamb kinda crazy. But i'm saying depression bipolar those things because it really is tough. It's really tough like that. That's moreover diagnosed now. Or you know. I i know you know you had you know. No i think. I think the the the the the testing that they do now and the open mindedness wasn't still is a stigma associated with mental disorders. It's bad enough that they're in attic. Now you tell me that we have. We have a mental health issues. I'm also a very very strong believer in psychotropic medications that deal with the depression and it doesn't have to be forever. It can be just a first. Year refers six months of of your recovery. But it's critically important to utilize the things that we've been handed these gifts you know. Years and years and years ago in bill wilson who wrote the Co founders of alcoholics anonymous. He suffered from terrible depression terrible and he had no medication back then and his guy who stay clearance over a after he founded alcoholics anonymous for the rest of his life and he struggled with depression. It was debilitating in his writing so he would talk about it often. So do you have any. Do i have any like mental illness while you struggling with any of depression or anything like that Specifically i don't think my depression. I do have mild depression. I don't have like. But i've had that all my life to build. Yeah it's not. It's not like something..

"As you know. He is a licensed clinical therapist for drug addiction in the state of florida. Welcome back thank you. Thank you so much for having me brandon. It's an honor thank you. There were a lot of people that actually were really happy and excited and they actually thought that you did a really good job. Explaining what addiction was. And and your take on you know and especially the story that you told last time that you were on so there was a lot of people wanting you to comeback. So here i am. I i guess the first question i would ask because i've actually been asked by a few people when you go out like as like as a recovering alcoholic as a drug addict and you go out with people that are going to dinner. And they're going to be around a bunch of people that obviously are addicts and they don't know how to act. What should you expect As as the alcoholic as the the person that's there like what would be the best solution. That's that's a great question that i'm acid myself in my practice as well. The the attic wants to have as much normalcy as possibly can so from their perspective they don't want inhibit the situation. They don't want a burden anybody but all the while in their head and thinking. Oh my god oh my god oh my god my god i got you know so from that standpoint is really nothing to do but just try to have it be as normal as possible now to flip side the family member. They're also going on my on my on my you know they're doing it quietly and the only thing it's really changed for a loved one of somebody who's trying to make this a recovery. The only thing that's really changed for them is the date somebody be working in themselves either through individual therapy or or or a group setting and the person the attic is working on themselves that trying to get better at trying to figure that way in this new world they have this drug and alcohol-free world and and you know what it is is people trying to interact and that interaction is so so difficult for both parties. The attic is working themselves and then a loved one just sees the date change. They don't see the the improvement that the attic will have even in short period of time so again normalcy. That's what i think that we're trying to shoot for on both parties part so like them. Drinking in front of you is okay. I mean it's up to the adequately to be around..
