Brad Edwards is urging Britain's Prince Andrew to tell authorities what he knows. He has been a longtime friend of Dylan Maxwell was a very close friend of Jeffrey Epstein. He clearly made observations heard things saw things. And engaged in the enough with people to where if you have nothing to hide, or if you know information comes share it. If you don't it certainly makes you look a certain way and that way is not. Prince Andrew has been pictured with one of Epstein's victims. He denies any involvement. This October.

"Brad Edwards dramatic heather did it should studio Steve what is giving us some updates okay ma'am thank you very much are concerned home today bill second quarter western Kentucky of fourteen seven on the Razorbacks that came on the SEC network on ESPN to Texas tech on the road and up twenty one seven against West Virginia Hey John Henry apparent touchdown runs for the red raiders and that one northwestern looking for its first one of the big ten up fourteen nothing at home against Purdue on the ACC network right now Boston College seven three lead at home against Florida state Georgia tech on the road and Charlottesville leading seven nothing against Virginia also in the second quarter arm your home fourteen seven lead on U. S. active studio with men thank you stay we got updates coming every fifteen minutes right here on college gameday on ESPN radio field goal for Penn state fourteen to ten Minnesota with the lead in that top twenty match up with ABC how rare is it is a is a match up like this from Minnesota read all the you know what this is just so awesome for these fans in Minnesota to be able to to be a part of a game like this you look at the last fifty seasons okay fifty seasons for the four teams involved in these undefeated match ups today this will be the one hundred twenty first top fifteen match up that Alabama has been involved in over the last fifty years one hundred twenty first with a ninety second for LSU the seventy seventh for Penn state this is the second for Minnesota well I mean this is a rarity and and the other one was at Michigan so this is the first time the only time in the last fifty years that they have been able to host a top fifteen match up the thing is the Minnesota looks like they belong in his get more the belong right now is about a minute to go in the first quarter Minnesota leads Penn state fourteen to ten they've got more total yards more first downs they're playing like then is it is a fair fight there was a lot of criticism from Minnesota in their week schedule coming up to this point but at this point these fans for the first time in so long Brad they're seeing the team that belongs heather you mentioned earlier the importance of the I. tester style points whatever people want to call it for the Alabama Ellis you loser today that you you don't look over Matt same thing would be true for the Ohio state Penn state game assuming Penn state doesn't lose today to Minnesota how true is it also for Oklahoma those two pac twelve teams that have won loss as they go down the stretch because one thing that we haven't yet seen in this playoff era is a real battle between a won lost nine champion and a won lost champion we've seen the one lost nine champion edge out of two lost champ but it seems to me for that conference championship to carry that extra weight to get them over the top they've got a look the part of a top fourteen two yes I would agree especially when there is a weaker non conference schedule or overall schedule that you have to overcome which would be both would be in the case of Utah for example I don't think the selection committee would penalize or again for lining up against Auburn and losing a close game at Auburn's finish with a winning record even if it if it drops the iron bowl or or something out of this at this point thank you for waiting for their two losses right now they still Georgia and Alabama left or right so I don't think that that would keep them out but or again needs to assure the committee that they're a top four team by leaving no doubt down the stretch here against weaker on ranked opponents and then really make a statement in the pac twelve championship game in order to convince them they are top forty so you're talking about what people deride as the eye test I mean you've got the resumes in rank wins and things like that but at some point you got to put on the tape and decide who's good and how good they are and you made a great point about where Alabama is relative to Penn state right which is if you're going to put pen state and at number four because of those wins why don't you put pen state ahead of Alabama and rob Mullins was asked that question on Tuesday in a teleconference he said because Alabama is quote just better that is the I. tax now this led many is not incentivizing quote running up the score they don't need to see you beat a team by seventy points but they certainly know the difference between Alabama beating LSU by a field goal and winning by two or three touchdowns if Alabama had beaten old mess by a field goal Penn state would be number three possible but that that's really what it comes down to write it's north kits the Clemson North Carolina narrow escape if Clemson head pounded North Carolina Penn state would be fifth in clubs would before but at the same time what is contradictory and confusing to fans and people listening to all of this is that rob Mullins also said that the committee notice that comes in has been playing better sense that game against North Carolina so how much does that way in contrast with the clothes road in what September it means if they hadn't played better they might be six or seven that's very very polite but I think we're also at the point in the season where a loss is a loss and yes there's no more room to overcome a lost between Alice you Alabama you can't make it up you know it strikes me as we're talking about this that style points are important for both teams and the Alabama LSU game today is not just for the loser to keep it close if you're the winner you want some separation there you want to make a statement that like look we're we're a lot better than this team because the SEC championship game against Georgia is not a Gimme no and if you're undefeated going to that game and you lose a close when they're you want the people in that room to still have ample evidence that you are one of the four best teams because they're gonna have a Georgia doesn't lose again they're not gonna put that demand over Georgia which leads me to the best case scenario for the SEC which is LSU wins out loses a tight one to Georgia the SEC champs how would you leave out in LA she team that went into Tuscaloosa and won that game it would be the best win in the country and then losing a close game to Georgia that to me is the clearest path to two teams from the SEC getting unless George loses to Auburn and still wins the FCC and then you have a to us as the C. channel how does it is easy chip no matter how many losses given that to win the SEC you're gonna face probably a top top top five team in the championship game how do you not allow it to us as C. T. SEC champion Terrell's I think yeah I think it opens the door for debate it's who you beat also if you lose your right but that this is the balance I think that that I struggle was sometimes because you've got well who did you struggle against or you lose too but then who would you be well what if you go back to six earlier question and you have that scenario in the SEC and you have one loss Ohio state sitting there at the didn't win its division do you take the Buckeyes would you take to Los Georgia I'm taking a Buck I'm thinking about guys I don't know about you guys her for the big ten is that you guys are right now such a great case for a team player there's no doubt but then these arguments would be as exciting that's really that's really what it comes down to a metric Brad Edwards and Trevor Matich here chatting with heather Dennis fourteen to ten Minnesota with the lead on Penn state Ohio state with a twenty one nothing lead on Maryland they got second down and ten in the red zone looking to add to that point total in T. C. U. with a three nothing lead on twelfth ranked Baylor of that that's interesting just to see if Baylor can just hang on here and and remaining team that's ridiculous you're talking about can Baylor quote hang on there three is that right on the top floor one fourteen can hang on just a forty or use the top defense of the coverage of the he interesting to watch will be watching that we got LSU and Alabama the knee jerk was of Alabama loses today they are out of the college football playoff how likely would be that they would miss the playoffs if they lose to LSU today I think there would be an extremely good chance that Alabama's playoff hopes would be over with the loss and I would venture to say even with a close loss because I don't think that their schedule I don't think there's anything else on it at that point that they could prove to the committee their quote unequivocally one for best this is their chance they've got to do it today the committee has shown it seems to be especially with this group but if your schedule it has a question mark on it your play needs to provide the exclamation point Alabama has done that so far this season Clemson hasn't for that one game against North Carolina which is held them back Penn state has the schedule and has shown that.

Ohio State tops College Football Playoff rankings

"As for college football first rankings are out the Buckeyes are sitting at the top of the list at least for now Ohio state the number one team in the initial college football playoff rankings allies use slotted at number two Alabama third Penn state fourth those four should change since they play each other away she would Penn state meet as do LSU and Alabama but for now the Buckeyes were the driver's seat their first number one ranking in the playoffs Penn state is in the top four for the first time in school history one is in right now number five ESPN analyst Brad Edwards well I think it is fine I I don't really have any issues with what they came up with I think the most surprising thing a lot of people is the defending national champion still undefeated I mean there are no once a winning streak now for close to twenty something I mean and that they're sitting there outside of the top four now we know they're not in trouble obviously if they win the rest of their games they'll be fine they'll be in the top four because some of those teams in front of them have to play each other with the LSU and Alabama BC this weekend and I'll have a live stayed ten state couple weeks later so Clinton's in good shape but it is a little bit jarring I think to a lot of people to to see that team especially they continued to for the most part to dominate their competition be sitting there outside the top four do you think this is a a direct result of the closer we in that they had at North Carolina absolutely I think if you look at these top five teams all undefeated you gotta start splitting hairs right a what separates them and for some of them its schedule you know separate them from the others that's what separates Ohio state LSU from Alabama for example both of those teams have a couple of top twenty wins Alabama has no top twenty five wins at the moment so it seems to me a foregone conclusion that Alabama at bass was going to be third because of that and then that's the same thing you you have when you get to cleanse and compared to the other four is there is that they are the only team out of the five that has played a close game against a team that's on right and that's that's the damage that simple it was one bad day is the reason that comes in is number five instead of who knows may it may be as high as three or four possibly better I mean he does this bottom line still is that like Alabama Clemson has no top twenty five wins Alabama just hasn't played a close game get someone you should quit because is there a scenario that you could see that the top four remain the same even though they have to play one another at some point I'm talking LH you barely loses at Tuscaloosa Penn state when they go to the horse you they rarely lose a great game could could that keep them the same no I mean because like I said it climbs in wins out claims in will move into that top for they will go ahead at some point we'll go ahead of these teams yeah they have losses now Clinton it's conceivable could get all the way through this thing all the way up to selection day having not beaten a team that's rank in the top twenty five by the selection committee it is possible things break around way for them but I still think because they're winning in dominant fashion for the most part except for that one game they'll

"I'm your host Brad. Edwards just had some back to back conversations regarding the College Football playoff and is there a need for more transparency. His parents should the big ten of had more teams in it all that stuff we discussed and we will continue talking about it right now temp from Florida. What do you think hey? How are you doing? Well thank you that was very enlightening conversation with Bill Macaque. He says nothing <hes> he said a few things if you were listening close enough in parsing words well if you parse them together yeah yeah but he actually said more than he normally does. I agree with that no he. He said quite a few things he he he gave a couple of real answers being the being the P._r.. Guy that he is. He does have a way of answering without answering when he wants to but I thought I thought he gave us some good answers to that you get be. Would you take away their. There's how many people on the committee third thirteen right right and a good ear three two or three people are normally half the recused. Yes voting especially at the top in recent years when they've had the top four conversation. That's that's usually what it is two or three of had been out of the room. That's correct. How many people live in this country? I think it's about three hundred twenty million right your guess as good as mine. It's that's about seventy million people that don't have a vote right so my point is that why not just us with the committee says and bring back. I don't care if it's Sagger in or B._C._S.. Use a combination of the two and putting together and whatever it spits out spits out. I I know that goes back to the B._C._S. new. You're in Alabama guy. I'm GonNa Florida gator Grad myself but you know it just seems like he's not GonNa do the transparency thing we own though that we get that absolutely get but if you do something a little bit more out guide by I think that might make more sense there have been some people I've heard who have suggested that they they have some other voices on the committee you know and and it's not all former players and coaches. They have like former media member. You had you know Condoleeza Rice was on it for a time. <hes> there are different types of voices of a lot of people including some people in my hi area would like to see someone with an analytics background on their you know. Let's hear what the number say right now. They're policy. Is that any number that every single person that committee doesn't understand how it's calculated can't be discussed within the room and then they shouldn't be on the committee. I mean you read Alabama in the early nineties. I was at Florida and the midnight we're very smart people..

"We're finishing up our number three here on today's fault, Paul finebaum show. I'm Brad Edwards. Paul having a day off today, and again tomorrow, actually, I say he's having the day off, I don't know exactly what he's doing. He might be working at something else, but he's not hosting the show today. I'll be back tomorrow as well taking you into your Memorial Day weekend. Hope everyone has a, a great weekend. Paul. We'll be back next week from the SEC spring meetings in Destin. So you will you will see him again. Then until then let's get back to your calls. Let's go with Tyler in Tuscaloosa. Hey, read these taking my call guys like me, and you're busy working. Well Paul's living up to feature wherever he's at around. Yeah. Out on the golf course something like that. Yeah. Well more power to 'em. Hey well the big questions this off season. For, for me has been the issue of the NCWA opening the box of possibly in the future allowing players to make a little money, and I'm, you know, objectively, that's fine. I think I deserve to be hitting paid for what they're doing the skill set like that. But I'm kind of a big picture guy and I'm a huge fan of college football. And I know that when the business regulation comes into play a lot of times, what happens situations is the consumer even if they don't know. It is, is the only one lose everybody else making money. The consumer is not getting the best product. So I have to just ask you this, and I just want your opinion on it when the big deals or getting made for guys like Trevor orange to his younger brother and many other prospects comments. This happens is the product that we love going to change in a way, like, for example. Why should a guy getting paid to fly college? Football even play college football. And why not why wouldn't he just forego college football altogether and, and make the big money? You know, that's, that's the only thing that I'm kind of scared of. I get that. What, what do you, you know, especially now that the NFL has implemented this rookie wage scale where there's basically, there's a limit on what you can pay a rookie in that first contract? So I mean I guess it would be technically possible. If you didn't do a good enough job, regulating, you know, what student athletes would be allowed to make you know, could could they conceivably make close enough in college, too, where like, okay, what's, what's the point of even? A even going to come and look the other way of looking at his I'm talking through it maybe for some of them, it's a reason to stay for one more year of college. But, but I don't know. I guess, I guess the question is, could you get to the point where it becomes it becomes corrupt to where I no longer you. No longer. I think we already kind of in our minds. Do a do a very poor job of recognizing for what it is. Which it, it's a huge business. And at the moment the, the, the workforce, which is the players are, are not getting as much out of it is what they put into it. But in the event that they ever did. I think. I think we would probably start to recognize it more for what it is, which is that, it's, it's just simply a big business that we're passing office Amateur Athletics. Absolutely. And I want to have one more thing, you know, colorful lawyers want to be playing or paid money and they should be, but look at the NFL guys were making a lot of money for a long time. Are they always super happy with their contracts? No, it's really only been recently, the NFL has allowed players to have much say, in what happens so with the regulation, and with the money will come..

"Podcast. We are back here on finebaum. I'm Brad Edwards filling in today. And I am pleased to be speaking with I've amaze L, who is giving us a little bit of insight on what we're going to start to see a lot of in the coming months, which is the celebration of college. Football's one hundred fiftieth anniversary for those who don't know the first college football game was played in eighteen sixty nine between Rutgers and Princeton final score Rutger six Princeton, four doesn't sound like today's game. In fact, if you look there's no video of it, I've right? But, but I think if we saw the video, we would recognize very quickly. It's no nothing close to what we know football today to be, and that's one of the fun, things about this just on top of everything else just learning how the game itself has changed over these years while there were twenty five men to aside, and you couldn't run with the ball. All but a little bit different thing is Brad is it a week later? They played again at Princeton and Princeton one. So a weekend to history of the game, we had established homefield advantage, which I thought was pretty cool. Yeah. And, and I think I also saw that someone retroactively applied national championships to all of these seasons from way back and including all the way back to eighteen sixty nine and they gave out a split national title that first year between Princeton and Rutgers, so yeah, this indecisiveness in being able to name national champions in college football started from the very onset of the sport. And one of the things that, that I guess. Kind of kind of makes this whole project. Interesting is, we're trying to go back here and put together some lists for all the fans of the greatest, this, the greatest that we're going to start in August..

We are. Taking your calls. Eight five five to four to seven to eight five. We're going to discuss a little a little bit more SEC football here before we segue into a couple of other conferences that we want to just touch on briefly in this hour, we're going to talk a little bit about the ACC and the big ten looking ahead to this two thousand nineteen season. But let's get back to those calls. Joseph in Tuscaloosa, how are you? Breath doing great. Oh, man. Appreciate you taking called pot. No. But man, Nick's going undergoing surgery today. But I'm telling you about that ain't gonna float anything then marrying go slow down because he goes still golf call conducting business now I had some things about coach saying he don't sleep maybe about four hours. But I ain't no ending though surprised the man doesn't get complacent, you know, let his guard now. But I'm gonna say this isn't gonna make the Alabama players play much harder. We got such better coaching staff this year, you know, he got so young. He got some old veterans, and that's gonna help because a lot of things we played against Clinton. Everything was going along on both sides of the football coach David phone by the L chains. Call your body heal me, but your mouth another side of town. You know, Mike Laughlin Tosco poor miles another side of town. And they'll get around. We've got to give credit to Clemson. They won that game. They want it fast square. No question about it. You can't even disagree. But I'll tell you what there's no doubt in my mind to Alabama got that ship and the show, but giving no to something breath. Every time out about play Clinton. Do you realize the number one team? Never worn. Do you ever notice that? Yeah. And number one team has never by the way, the number one seed has never won the playoff. That's right. That's it. You know Clinton with nocco violet Bama, Alabama got knocked off about Clinton twice and Email Clinton was a number in Knoxville Alabama twice because forty five to forty and a twenty four to six and then they beat up thirty thirty five thirty one. And then we they beat up again, they'd be a forty five forty four to two thousand sixteen something like that. And I'll tell you it was like the number one don't have any success, but here, but here's the catch. It is. It's all about the chip. I'm a shoulder death. What it's all based on. That's what that's one thing. You have to identify with Alabama. Clemson except the first time Alabama without coach Suada first time because the onside kick and the hundred run by off name Kenyan Drake that but that was all Danby, but watch this now watch we'll go on Alabama issue is. Going to be going to be shutting people out, and I'll tell you what makes you one. It's all of them being join how stadium this show in Alabama plays Alban. I don't know..

And here we go third and one Louisiana tech rotates running backs in the fact, they were willing to use a timeout Israel Tucker on the field after losing his helmet lead me to believe. He's getting the ball spit goes under center with the full house backfield kids it to the right? I out of board of the thirty two twenty fifteen it's Cam McKnight down the sideline he scores. What should be the tagger? Poor Louisiana tech touchdown, Cam McKnight. Hawaii did what I said they should do. I mean, I think it was the high percentage move, which is just sell out between the tackles. In the play basically goes off tackle and wants mcneich got to the outside. There was no one with a chance to bring him down in. You know, that's just the risk. You take in that situation. If you're Hawaii. That is the play call up the game from skip Holtz at his offensive coordinator, Todd Fitch because what you said is probably what everybody at Hawaii's thinking you. Call a timeout. So Tucker can get back in the game. He must be getting the ball, and it was McKnight six to to fourteen redshirt senior who's been there. Big back in the past. Who scores the touchdown as the extra point? By HALE is good with some pressure that makes it a three score game again at thirty one to fourteen and I think that's the icing on the cake in this game. Not breaking news team point lead three forty five show time, I think it's it's fair for us to look back now at that rash of turnovers absolutely in the second quarter by Louisiana tech. And this is an offense that has not been very potent for most of the season and if not for turning the ball over in widely territory on three straight possessions in.

An old western athletic on Fritz rivalry, if you can believe that rusted Louisiana was part of the same conferences Hawaii. The riba worries dominated the series eating eight to two they have not met since two thousand eleven and Louisiana tech has never won in Hawaii. At least they haven't won in Hawaii against this rainbows team. Yeah. Oh and five I believe it was when they were in the same conference together. But you know, as one in Hawaii skip Holtz coach at East Carolina is I bowl wed came in this game back in two thousand seven against Boise state. Skip Holtz these sixth year head coach now at Louisiana tech. This is his longest head coaching tenure was at USF for three years. ECU FCS Connecticut for five and he's hoping for a fifth consecutive bowl win. A fifth consecutive year. After Gioja ward fielded the punt inside his own five. Hawaii will start from the foregoing going left to right McDonald's. Standard his own goal and takes the step fires acquired left. It's taught and out of bounds with I doubt is Marcus Armstrong Brown brigade be the Armstrong grab targeted a few times already earlier in this game. We mentioned Johner Suez leading receiver is out. I'm Brad Edwards joined by Matt Schick, and we've heard a lot of people comment on the Arbat Meyer situation over the last couple of days. One that I just recently saw speaking on ESPN for the first time since this broke is Kirk herbstreet and I want to hear what Kirk had to say for two reasons. One is that he obviously is a premier voice on college football for ESPN, but also. Because being an Ohio State alum and having covered college football for so long at ESPN. He knows urban Meyer very well much better than most people do. So here's Kirk herbstreet just a little while ago on ESPN. Well, I think you if you listen to just the the word on the street, are you listen to to people on talk radio. It seems that it's very one sided and that he doesn't have a chance to come back and be the head coach at Ohio State. I personally just saying for myself, this slowdown, slowdown, let's allow all the information to come in. I think it's only fair in any of these cases to to look at this and really study every aspect of it as opposed to saying that this person, whoever this person might happen to be. In this case, it's urban is guilty until proven innocent. And I feel that in this case that has happened, I personally want more information to come in. I want to see how urban responds. I want to see the investigation how the university responds. And then again, after we have more, I think than we're going to be able to see whether or not he can survive this and move on as the head coach. That's it. We've only heard one side and and unfortunately for Meyer it's a very credible side and also unfortunately for urban Meyer. The one thing that he really did say about it at big ten media day, as we connect dots seems to be an untruth. So the the sooner we can hear from him the better I just don't know, Brad, and we talked about it. I don't know what he could possibly say. Other than my wife didn't tell me that information. I had no clue. But if that's the case, then why was this coach fired? If urban Meyer the day after he was fired, said there was nothing there right? But he said, there's nothing there. Why would it report a create that? Yes. So had already been fired. So there's just so much that that either miss remembering or misspeaking it just he's not getting the benefit of the doubt right now. You're right. I, it's not that urban Meyer has not spoken at all on this issue. He is not spoken to the most recent report to to the biggest bomb that was dropped, but he did have an opportunity last week to to speak about something related to this. And he, he said he, he might be telling the truth, but he said he didn't know anything about it in two thousand fifteen. And so whatever he says from this point has to align with what he said last week, if it doesn't, then he has no credibility and there's. There's no chance of him, you know, coming out, clean in this. So let's let's get back to your calls real fast, Joe in red bay, Alabama. You guys y'all doing today. Great, Joe. Well, good, Dan, you, and that both of them. Then it says that the one of us, but there's another aspect house state university. I'm not to bring up and this is, you know, all this open minded knew about it or should note about it. I mean, who signs this coaches paycheck by painting the university president or athletic director, shouldn't they have known something about this? And also, I mean, if you're, I mean, don't get me wrong. What I've been, you know they'd reported or didn't report was wrong than the stool official shirt. They knew, you know, whoever's got in his paychecks when you get risked, and I just like, no, y'all being on water being things said, well, was you know the face, the college officials will just how urban Myers..

"I'm Brad Edwards joined by Matt Schick, and we had the second day in a row. Spent the entire show talking about what's going on with urban Meyer at Ohio State as the buckeyes head coach is on paid administrative leave as the university looks into what did he know? And when did he know it regarding his former assistant coach, Zac Smith and allegations of domestic abuse against his then wife Courtney, obviously, because of title nine. There are implications here which would threaten the job status of urban Meyer at Ohio State. That's why he's on. Leave, and that's why they are looking into this. Now, last week after Zach Smith had been relieved of his duties as an Ohio State assistant coach by urban Meyer. A tweet was sent out by anti apple, who is the the mother of ally. Apple, Ohio, State cornerback just a couple of years ago. She tweeted this at Ohio State. Our sons were held to high conduct rules and zero tolerance when it came to violence against women and rightfully so I'm personally disappointed that coach Zac Smith was not held to those same standards, love my buckeyes, but this is bigger than football. Well said, let's go to Linda in Argo, Linda. Hello. Mr. Brad Edwards, it's been awhile has been a while. How are you? I'm good. How are you doing? I'm doing all right. We're good. And and an Hello to Matt Schick. I hope you're doing well to Matt. I am. Thank you very much for ask you. Thank you so much, Brad for taking my call today, and I'm gonna try to hold it together. Okay, I'm I'm, I'm very close, very close to domestic. Valance. Okay. And believe me when I say this and I'm not bragging is just an absolute fact and truth. I could write a book on domestic violence. That being said. And I don't wanna talk about that my my dad father, but he made his peace with God and with my mother before he died. But I feel like I just had to say this, Brad, I need to tell my story if I may. Okay. My dad wasn't alcoholic. He was about alcoholic. And when I was growing up. He committed to mystic violence. Oh, my mother. And I say that as a child, and I say that as an adult. Okay. And. Oh, my mother divorced him. And then well, they got back together and after a severe domestic violence that was committed, but my father, oh, my mother and they reconciled and they got they remarried, but things later on in their marriage concerning the family, not just necessarily the domestic violence and then my mother, her being Catholic. You know, she got a an annulment and but today. I'm close to it today to not committed against me, but I'm close to it and that's all I can say, Brad, you can draw your own conclusions. But this thing I think I don't have a dog in the fight. I'm not an Ohio State fan Alabama saying, but I have nothing against urban Meyer. But I believe he knows just know in my heart that he knows and I can't imagine Shelly. Not telling him I just I just can't imagine her knowing what Courtney Smith was going through and all the women that were involved texting and and you know the pictures were sent, and I wish I could talk to Trevor..

"The Paul finebaum show. I'm Brad Edwards along with Matt Schick, and we are now joined by Matt Hayes, senior national college football writer for Bleacher report guy who's been around the business for quite a while. Matt, and a little bit of want to ask you about something that you wrote when you were with sporting news about six years ago. But before we get to that, I just want to get your overall impressions of what came out of Columbus, Ohio yesterday and where you think this is going to end up going. Docking, Brad, in some respect it is. I mean, another respects that my surpri not really not really to me, I, I honestly believe this and I know every talking about, you know will how, how could you know ever not have known from Shelly? My my question is this what is Shelley? Myers motivation for not telling her husband. Why would she not tell him? I mean, we're looking at this completely wrong, then that's number one. And number two. There's another part of that story in Brett mcmurphy terrific reporting that story where Brian Bolotin, who is earned Myers, Papa operations guy has been within for fifteen years is as close to anyone to anyone on that staff and his wife makes it very clear, very clear that urban knows what's going on. She said, and and the tweet he or being urban, just said that he meetings back denied everything. He's talk. Talking to back. So I to me, I don't understand why this is such a a situation where we say, well, maybe did or maybe didn't, and well, what if somebody didn't tell him? I mean, he knew he absolutely new and framing to think anything different is literal. They're just putting their head in the sand. Matt, as Bleacher report, joining us reading your plane back from Connecticut yesterday and read the the story that was tweeted out from two thousand twelve in incredible visceral reaction of what happened under urban Meyer's watch at Florida with the arrests and kind of players running the show. And then he takes some brief time off and then comes back and with Ohio State. The story was written in two thousand twelve. We've heard people say Illich. The culture has changed. Urban Meyer has not to at least his credit. The players there haven't been player issues as often hard to be as often at Ohio State as they were at Florida. So in that respect, it seems like that has been cleared up, but do you believe that that he has changed from his time at Florida from the time he wrote that story, you know what? Matt. This is kind of how I look at it. And I think this is the way. It's been with his entire coaching career. If you have value to him, you're leashes longer and I don't care if you're a player. I don't care if you're an assistant coach, whoever you are when you have to him, it's different. You know, you have the circle of trust at at Florida, which by the way he denied that story came out in twenty twelve and the tweets, resurfaced and stories we service where he talked about the circle trust, you know, and then the first year he can throw house. They changed brotherhood of trust. He, he's a guy, I think, and I think it's the same situation with back and to me, Brad Murphy story Matt to me the last line and that story, if I was anyone will have state, I would be terrified by that. The last line that story is is courting talking about how Zach once told me that if he goes down, you've taken, everybody don't have state with. And my my question then is why would urban risk is his career is eight million dollar year job to protect this kid. And if I'm thinking, what else is gonna come up? What else is coming next. That's the big. That's the big thing for me right now. Matt. Obviously, the title nine implications are a major part of how this thing ends up shaking out as far as you know, what did Arben? No, when did he know it? Because there's certainly seems to be, you know, every obligation on his point two or on his part to report it if he did know something. But to me, there's another layer to it, which might not be as significant in terms of whether he keeps his job in terms of perception, the the idea that violence against women has been a soapbox issue for him..

"Oh breaking news seen as a good thing we were a little bit later the podcast they breaking news coming out of central florida where the nights have selected their next head coach in it is josh high pole the former missouri offensive coordinator who's done an unbelievable job with the tigers and drew locking getting that offense going are they they average over fifty points a game in that was six game winning streak to m the season brad edwards your thoughts i liked the higher look at going with an offense of guy last higher scott frost it worked pretty well and so i i don't think there's any reason step away from that maybe you know slightly different offense but that seems to be the model that works the best especially group of five in general where you're probably not going to be able to recruit elite defensive lineman go with the guy who can score points in and that's what they were able to do now that's the big play on whether or not drew lock who who i was talking to missouri officials when i was in atlanta for the sec championship game terry beck nur jr is returning so they were excited about that under the fence aside but the big question is whether lock lock was going to return chris slow i mean when you lose your favorite off as a coordinator who helps you put up numbers in the nfl's come to call and i would imagine this probably makes the decision for drew lock even easier right it to act it to the next level yeah i think so and in let me say this about jaipal more more than ever when you're looking for coaches.
