"Oh believe they would have that on. There's not the main one justin bieber baby me anyway. Is it for you. I don't know why i get stuck in my head. But i hate this song. It's watch me whip watch me Nine lunchbox ozzy's chombo tub-thumping to number two nine an old song. It's vanessa carlton's thousand miles so good for final one raymundo. What song get stuck in your head. Whenever i'm about to get a beer an ice cold beer. I mean the only thing i think of is lou collins. Catchy hook say. We'll put it up on our facebook page tells what song stays in your head the longest like you just. You just can't get it. i wake up. There's all the time there's a song in my head at some point me to jukebox. It's just one song to another one song to another any brand next song comes up on the bobby bones. Show now courtney monroe. She's the president of national geographic global. Television she is the reason that i have show that exists. That will be on at ten nine. Central courtney monroe everybody everybody studio. Hey we are good at question for you. Tell me about this. How this thing works ten nine central does that mean everybody but central gets at ten and then only central gets at nine th. This is the most basic question. I need help here. Yes that is correct. Don't you live in the central time zone though. But i know we get it at nine right. So if you're on the east coast. Where i live or you're on the west coast. You get ten. I just hit me up from all these times onto. Like what time is it on here. I'm like you know what i'm going to ask somebody who knows the president okay. So ten nine central on geo breaking bobby bones. Ask you the first question that people wanna know. Why in the world would you green light a show with me on it. first of all I'm a huge fan. I've been huge fan and loyalist are for a long time. So part of this was just a ploy to get to know you really. That's number one number two. You were on running wild with bear grylls your listeners. Your fans tuned in became the highest rated episode. Ever frat that season. And we're like gosh people love him. Let's do a show with bobby bones and chooses it matters. This show it is. This show is the embodiment of exactly who you are. It is full of adventure. It is fun. It's full of heart and inspiration and you're gonna love it. And so i knew it was going to be hit. I knew it was going to be entertaining. And you're going to have fun doing it. That's why we agreement it now. The question for me is. Did you ever get that. I would be physically like really badly injured or die because some of the stuff i was doing was pretty nuts. I did worry about that. I'm a little conflicted because on the one. Hand the crazier things you do. The the you know the more nutty. It is the better the television. But i really like you and i didn't want you to get hurt so yes i was definitely nervous but i was conflicted because it makes for great entertaining television. The first episode me hanging over the grand canyon and my body's literally trembling it's really terrifying to watch like terrifying to watch you say that in a way that you happy that i was terrified. I was super happy. Yes because this is all about you facing your fear getting outside your comfort zone being vulnerable And spending the day with with people. Who do this for a living. You know really inspiring individuals who are willing to take risks and you go for it and it's really fun and yes seeing shoe scared. It's kind of entertaining for me. I it brings back all the anxiety that i had while actually doing. It had trouble sleeping the night before i get out. I'm hey there's there's literally a cliff and they're like okay we're gonna. You're gonna go out on this rope. And we're going to pull you out and i'm like i don't i can't do it and i sat there for ever going because i don't know if i can do this. And it just brings back the anxiety that i had. I only watch like the first half of it. And then i then i fast forward it to the human part of it. Because that's what's so great about it because this is not fake made for television stuff. All you all viewers in your fans are going to have to do is see your face and the fear is real and the hesitation is real And i think that's what makes the show. So compelling is that it's real and you're willing to be afraid And i think the way you connect with these sort of everyday heroes is really inspiring any of the episodes and go allah kind of sucked now. Favorites i'm not going to say what they are. I have. I think the you know the more afraid. You are the more out of your comfort zone. I think The better but i love them all. And i love the people that you need and i love all the everyday jobs that you immersed yourselves in and i think you know listeners are going to see themselves in a lot of the people that you meet and i think that's pretty compelling well you come for the action and me look and dopey tries to out but stay for the the stories of people who fought real adversity and fought their way through and and i think if you watch an episode. And you're you don't feel inspired. I did not do my job. And so i think you'll finish this showing dang i love them and you may feel better about yourself to agree and i also love how. You're begging all your listeners. What do they want urine. Listen i'm not above begging either so please watch you will love it. National geographic channel. They'll eventually be on disney plus lots of places to watch it. People are gonna love it. They're gonna love you in it and they're gonna love it there. She is courtney monroe president of national geographic global television. And my hero breaking bobby belts ten nine central tonight on that channel. Courtney thank you. Sandiego rolled out a red carpet for her to walk down to her new family. And yeah this shelter says that sandy left behind eighty dogs in two hundred cats siblings and that they face. This is like an orphanage. they don't put any dogs down any cats down. They keep them live there until they find a home or until they pass away. So yeah oh not real blood. "So and then we listened to that song all the time to we know all the words to it and that was a real special time for us then in the song to he talks about moving to nashville to. She's thinking like. Oh my gosh. Like i could live in nashville. Well that whole song to like. Let's just go for it. There's nothing to lose. Let's just go get it so yeah that's jam to wherever you in that since you know where you were like the game and the concert if that's when she had the moment of knowing where were you at. That moment already knew knew well. Yeah because i planned the whole not planning a trip like that for somebody that i'm not Over yeah and she said. I haven't seen and i'm gonna ask her for it that she took notes on her phone that night on how she felt because she didn't want to let that kind of go by she wanted to. I guess maybe when she gets mad at me later shingo her little diary. Do you have a song the not like of your first dance at your wedding but like a song that you you and your husband when you first started being together it was like your song i mean ours is anything we first started dating. He loves texas country so and pat. Green ended up being one of our songs. But i would say anything. Jerry jeff pat green robert keen and even some other guys that aren't as known as those texas country is the whole format now all the texas country anything with the red dirt and it is our song now but i will say like even parker mccullum song out now when it comes on the radio instantly has that texas country feel and i think of him already with that song and he he loves it but there's not a song that i can think of right now unless it's pandering crazy but eddie i think ours kind of came later. We had our early ones. But i think fix you now has become our song because of just the roller coaster ride that our marriage has been ups downs ups downs. And we've always just kind of ended up being there for each other so won't fix comes on. We both just get really quiet. And say gosh. I love this long as like we. Are you listening to on our list. Always on the alternatives to they never played hateful stuff. Now lot of you guys ask for advice we opened up the mailbag to give you just. That ran came something. We call mailbag bobby. I recently moved in with my girlfriend and moved all my stuff into a storage unit. And we're gonna say some things that we can both of us now. She asked him to move into the storage unit for at least a year quote just in case things in workout. I was totally open to this idea. I never thought it was a smart play now thinking about it and suddenly. I'm wondering is this a red flag. Is she telling me. She's not really sure if she wants to be with me. Is she playing it. Safe string kicked to the curb or my over thinking it brad. While i i'll say at your over thinking it i would just say you're ever thinking she may have been saying that for him not to free gal more than her to you. Can't she could say. Hey just in case doesn't work out for him not just for her. So i wouldn't draw any significant conclusions from that and who knows it may not work out if you built a great. Hey we're going to see if this works out. Give it a trial run a living together so i would say not to freak out yet. It's not a red flag if she's in a year if she's going hey we're gonna leave yourself over there because who knows what's going to happen next then. It's probably a red flag. Those are my thoughts amy. Yeah i think she's looking out for you to and keeping all the things. Although my therapist doesn't talk a lot about red flags lately not necessarily in a relationship but just sometimes in life things we do or something that said to us. That might be like. Oh maybe i do look a little further into that and if it really is a concern then you need to communicate that to her communication. That's done now but if it's something you can't let go just say hey and try to use when you do bring it up us. I language instead of you like you when you said this did it. I just say hey you know. I know we talked about this the other day and i started to think this are. I started to feel this way after we talked about it but in void for for her to not get on the defense. I should work on that. I go right to the you you now. I'm really working on well brad. Here's what we say collectively. You're fine if it's bothering you. That much say something to her but this is not a sign of disaster. Yeah we agree with that. Yeah 'cause really she could have meant nothing by it other than protecting but you have created a possible story in your head. That's taking you the other direction stories on our head of the.

"Alaska. Everybody thank you so much for hanging out with us this morning. Here is andrew from california to you. I just wanted to get your advice. Bobby me and my girl a currently in a long distance relationship. And i know you and caitlyn at that point but I just want some advice. We're both young. we're trying to live it up. So advice would be great. Thank you my advice. And it was the first ever long distance relationship i've ever done. We just always had a plan next. We weren't ever just living separately going. I wonder when we'll see each other again. Even if it was far away we had a plan We were looking forward to when she come here. I would go there but then again. We got hit with corona pretty quick because we dated for a few only a few months and then she was just kind of trapped here which in the end was. The greatest thing ever happened to me. So i my only advice to you. Sound like you're young guy is just. Make sure that you know whenever you leave. You already have your next little spot plan because you're looking forward to something always otherwise counted. You feel like you're floating. Kaelin used to come to town and then she would get here and then start to get sad already because you'd have to. She knew she'd have to leave in a few days. And i was like wait a minute. Don't get sat until your accent. Leafing i do that like just be happy for a second and so and then. I took her to the airport and i would talk with. I was like hey. There's no to get sad you're gonna come back. We already have an extra plant like that's why it worked for us. Don't get sad isn't not coming back in three weeks or two weeks and then you're going to get stuck here and then and then you're going to live out a one single small suitcase for three months. Yeah that would be my advice. They're andrew good luck can work. It's tough it can work but there's also got to be a bit of a plan for how in the long distance as well we've got be an instant means. Let's do one more here we go. This is heather in north dakota find out if you and caitlyn and your own songs and your song is a couple we have a few. I mean i heard. I haven't really talked about this on the level of just picking on but i've made a list here The first time we kind of went somewhere together and she knows every nineties country song every word every night country song and so we were brooks and dunn neon moon had. Oh i know what was happening. Eddie and i were practising because playing with brooks and dunn and i was learning making sure i knew every word of the song because he felt like you do until you have to sing it with right and you're gonna go and then we say that song reminds me her because we just sang it for an entire weekend. So that's not our song but that's one also the duleep asong don't stop now reminds me of her when we first met. Don't come love this song. But she liked the song and she went to the same. Churches do a leaper and so other. That was cool. That is cool. And that's a big one jesse and the rippers forever. There's why why this cashews the play it all the time and be like this is my song for you just kind of kidding but not really and also who doesn't love full house jesse's playing this at the wedding. The tam but fine. The one that i would say is our song now because we picked it or had this conversation in this song because the she says that she when she knew that i was the one for her. I took her to carney concert. And we were in oklahoma city. Because i surprised by going to the city thunder game and then mat kearney was playing. He's he's a friend of mine and so after the game went over and watch the back end of his show and hung out with him afterward but he played this song at the very end of it and she said when during this song is when she knew that.

"With mario lopez wwl mario lopez. Join me now on zoom from the new. Show break bobby bones bobby bones. Welcome the show man. How are you thanks. Mom i'm healed. It took me a long time after. Shoot in this show to actually physically be well again. But i'm back. And i'm good well before we get to the injury. Let's talk about the show. Congratulations by the way. It's national geographic. tell me about it when i created it i wanted to do a show that was really highlighting underdogs and people that are doing great things in america. That really aren't being highlighted anywhere else in so it's episode. One on memorial day is got mike who was gang went to prison got out wanted to write himself and so i learned his story but he also became one of the best rope technicians in the world where he does rope access. And that's basically creating rope rigs to hang in high places so me being afraid of heights had to go hang four thousand feet over the grand canyon single rope and it was miserable so you get to learn his story and kinda route along with him but also see me be an idiot and almost die. Well on a personal level. You're overcoming your fears is. I'm sure very therapeutic get hurt. I was climbing a tree. I was in northern california. And you know a lot of forest. Fires are starting because the tops of trees are touching. You know dumb me. I live in nashville. And so you know. We're not struggling with what you guys struggle with force fire. So i didn't know that the enough tree is engulfed. that's how it spreads for the most part and so what we did is we had to climb trees the one spike in each shoe and one wrote and you climb the tree that way. Yeah and i about yeah. Oh damn he the tree. The only time they had to stop the show the whole season. Damn that is crazy is love climbing trees as a kid. But that's an kid added to but as an adult you don't listen after turned forty. You just don't bounce back like a us. believe me. I know man. I know i got the surgeries to prove it right. There was at the toughest task. You think you've You've done you know. I'm not an adventure guy. I hate adventure so this every episode was tough for me. I think the reason. I wanted to show people that i could push myself but you know there was a guy named ralphie who lost both of his legs serving our country a bomb blew off his legs and so we had to come back to the states. He's from southern. California had never played hockey and he started playing hockey as a video game and now he is on the us olympic paralympic team. And they wanna go metal. And i went and learn how to do that and then competed with an against them and really got beat up bad and i'd never played hockey. I'm from arkansas. Didn't have ocoee. And so that was really tough for me but also Probably one of the most compelling three or four days. I spent oh man sounds like a lot of fun. We'll congrats on that. And i know we got another season of a i now in the books. I had you think this season compared to some of the others were involvement. Well last season the slices and sock because of the pandemic way from home and so for us to be able to be back on. That stage was pretty fantastic and i think that america got it right. I some some years. I don't think america gets it right. But i was really happy with the season and it was just good as you know to be able to shoot a show with people in the room. And so we're we're getting the ride. We're going the right direction. Now thank god light at the end of the tunnel. I'm with your there so so. Let's talk iheartradio music awards for song of the year. We got blinding lights circles. Don't start now rockstar and watermelon sugar. I mean harry styles plays in my house all the time. My fiance's a huge harry styles fan and all those songs are so good that i just decided to pick which one that i probably like the most so. I'll probably go with watermelon sugar okay. We'll see that's smart. That's a that's engaged. You're on the right track right there. You should have learned. What is your advice here. I am. I've never been married before about to do for the very first time. What is your advice for early marriage. Well i think you're approaching it at the right age because as a man i think. Got to have your act together and and no yourself a little Really well i should say before you start diving in and you start partnering with someone else so that right there. You're way ahead of the game. And i think you just kinda listening communicating and nodding along those a long way you'll see them listening and and agreeing to. That probably wouldn't have agreed to in my old life right. I'm slowly getting there. Yeah you realize it doesn't matter all that shit doesn't matter later on when you get married by the way we are getting married later this summer in nashville and a good for you cited already moved back twice and this time we said hey pandemic or not doing it and now that it's happening we're we're pump that people can come and you know be together and not wear masks and we can actually have it because we were big mask. Wear we were abiding. By every rule in this was the final time we were pushing back so late in the summer. Here in nashville. Great time in great time. We'll congratulations on that. Congratulations on the show. And everyone please be sure to watch breaking bobby bones memorial day on national geographic. Bobby thanks for checking in my.

I'm just wondering if you mentioned this before. Bobby but i was wondering if you have honeyman plans. And if so we'll caitlyn be part of the decision making first of all probably make the whole decision. What i've learned in a relationship is unless i really have a strong opinion about it. I let her do it if she wants to. I don't care where we go on our honeymoon you know. She wants to go to the beach sort of beach. Great not a beach guy. But i'm really not a anything guy. I'm mountain guy. I'm not a beach guy. And what kind of guy are you know. i just haven't found it. I like to go back to the cabin in arkansas because we have a cabin. They're back home. "Dr collins. It is such a pleasure to have you want. how are you today. i am just fine. It is great to be on your show with you bobby. I'm a big fan so terrific to have a chance to talk about whatever we're going to talk about. You are the director of the national institutes of health. What does that mean. that means. I'm the guy who oversees our nation's investments in biomedical research. The national institutes of health is the way in which discoveries get made and clinical advances occur. And it's my job to all of this in a forty two billion dollar a year medical research investment which for the past year has been all about covid. Nineteen as you might guess and we've made some real progress with vaccines and what this way. I'm glad to have you on because this is the guy to ask about vaccines. I've had one shot. Eddie's got shot lunchboxes got a shot. Now we're the inside the two shots system here because we didn't johnson and johnson. So can you explain to me what the difference is in these three vaccines and if we should look for any of them specifically well let me first say they are all wonderfully effective and safe vaccine so the bottom line is you should take what everyone gets offered to you as soon as it gets off. Because this is how we're going to get past is terrible. Ovid nineteen pandemic. Yeah the pfizer moderna vaccine. Those are two shots they're based on something called messenger. Aren a the johnson and johnson is one shot and is based on adenoviruses approach. But they've all been tested in trials of at least thirty thousand people each and been shown to have safety. Records are really quite impressive with no hint of any real troubles there and a highly effective way protecting you against getting sick or dying of covid nineteen and that's what we are all waiting for and now it is here so i know people may be a little resistant about wait. A minute debate rush. Did they go too fast. I'm the guy who's been overseeing all of this at the nih libya sure you. I've never seen anything done better than this. In terms of the way in which the trials were conducted in strength therefore the conclusions about being safe and effective so. Roll up your sleeves america. It's time to get past this pandemic

I just honestly watched while caitlyn had on. What do you think about it. I i mean. I can see how people could get used to the storyline and wanna watch it like the storyline is not bad but guys give me a heads up on how steamy it could be like right off the bat see. I'm i'm watching our foster baby. He's at the house. He's playing with cars right there. And i'm like let me. Just give fridge a chance. There's some strong scenes of people going. You know and i'm like oh my gosh. Where's the remote what's happening even the baby's what's happening on. Tv so heads up on that so bridgeton said an eighteen thirteen. Blake Shelton defends 'Minimum Wage' song

"On the phone. Right now is blake shelton it. We got new song out today We do and It's we kicked around actually releasing this song last last year at the end of the year december and and happy anywhere still kind of having its moment at country radio and we didn't want anything to get in the way of that record because that's been fun record to have and didn't want anything to interfere with what it what it may go on to do And so we backed out. And now we're releasing this all minimum wage. Which i've actually had recorded now for Maybe a year or something and and just you know everything. Kinda got thrown spun out last year. Obviously it did for everybody else and and So we're gonna come with a new album that this'll be the first single off of that album and we're pumped about it just because it's it's up campo it's fun and fully energy and and I definitely need some of that in my life and hopefully Everybody kind need some of that. If you put out a song and it does not go number one. Is that a disappointment to you Well that's been a disappoint not just at this point in my career. I mean if you're going to release a solid radio. I mean you're lying to everybody if you say it's not in the back of your mind that you hope it goes number one. I mean you otherwise. You wouldn't even release it to radio and go through the promotion process and you know all the things that you that you have to do to to be a part of that world. I mean you know. I mean you see. Every week somebody is trying to get their record number one and and You know for me. Not that i expect it to go number one but at the same time. I'm disappointed if it doesn't just because i know how hard everybody on the team works to get those things to the top you know and it just try to get done. Blake shelton on with us. What was the first job you had where you made minimum wage our roof houses in ada oklahoma and they may have been more than minimum wage. I think about. I think i got paid eight dollars an hour and i feel like way back then. Minimum wage might have been six dollars an hour or something closer to that. So man i. I stepped right into the big money. Roofing houses you know. I wrote houses to arkansas. But i didn't. I don't know if you started like i did. I had to be tear off. Guy i before i was actually the guy with the shingles is that. Was that your pat. I never worked up to shingle. In two years. I was a tear off and carry. I could carry by the end of the road. I can carry two bottles of shingles up at a time on on my shoulder which is like a hundred and twenty pounds. That was the only time in my life. I was ever in shape. Of course i was still a teenager. So i had that going for me. How do you feel about the return of the mullet. What do people say about yours back. In the day versus you know kind of the new generation of the mullet. Here's how about it. Because i'm a little jealous And that's been honest. i'm. I'm a little jealous that i don't have the mullet. But here's what i've found. Is you know you look at morgan. Wall he's a good looking guy and he's in shape and and when i've tried growing my mullet out this last last year during the quarantine time i realized for me. You can't be fat and have a mullet lock. You know what. I mean in order to get away with it. You have to have something else going for you and you know back in the day when i had one man. I was skinny. And that's not how it is anymore. And so i'm gonna have to. If i'm going to have the mullet. I gotta lose hundred fifty pounds. There's a lot that's a big number man pat is. I'm sorry bobby. Blake this whole controversy about minimum wage. When it finally gets to you that people are. I don't know whatever they are. Do you roll your eyes or do you go to this Well i've learned over the years not to just roll my eyes. You know until. I really get to the bottom of whatever. The particular controversy is that But when i saw this on was i i mean. I don't want him everything but it kind of a role of the is. Because i think if there's if you can find something offensive about this song i mean you're either you're just looking for fight or you're probably not a country music fan to begin with you know it's i. I really can't draw connection between anything controversial. And i love song. But you know it's It's the times we're in. i guess but we're just. We're proud of the song and and we love it. Which is weird. Because as soon as i heard about the controversy i came on and was just railing against these overly woke folks. It's what i was calling him. And then i started to get pushed back for standing up for the fact that it was a metaphor for life in that i was someone who grew up on minimum wage for most of my life. I wasn't. I was just so irritated in ronnie dunn fight. The standing up for two like why in the world is happening with folks. Think you just gotta go okay. Well that's your your take. We're we're going to keep going on with reality on this road and you can take whatever turn you want to Because it's at the end of the day it's a song about if you got love and then you didn't you've got the everything that matters you know And again if there's something offensive about that then i this is not the the world i wanna live in. Have any of your other songs sparked up debate. Like do people get upset about hillbilly bone. Because you know you know you know. Only you know only time that people get upset about that song when we perform it live and trace sexually points In the in the area makes it makes it big deal every time it gets to the chorus like. He's got a point to himself to be sure you understand exactly what he's talking about. I don't know. I don't know i don't know what to say. Oh i i thought he he points to a hillbilly and the crowd. Yeah that's right that's not me up. Blake shelton's got a couple more questions for you. I was talking to devon dawson recently. Who is one of the writers god's country and he told a story about how they they had sent playlist to you a few songs and god's country was one of the first ones on that playlist. Can you just kind of tell me your version of the story. But hearing god's country i was well. I don't think. I heard the other song that they spent because wanted god's country was the first song on that email or whatever i got and i stopped right there. I was on my There's a rumor going around that. I was on tractor But i was actually on skid steer different kind of equipment. But i had a both in that thing and i was i was mowing and doing some things and i figured out how to our. He's not think. I even tried to open the email to see if i could learn how to use my bluetooth and and And i turned it on. And then i was. I was shocked. I was blown away. I couldn't even believe what. I was hearing. 'cause i knew that it was it was a it was game changer. It was that lacombe. Nothing would be the same for any of us involved after this song is far from a career standpoint and and what it was going to to do you know and in my mind anyway because every time you record song you say oh my god this could do this or that And this one seemed like it would just almost Start a new chapter for me. And it did to be honest It's one of the few times that actually had a vision and trick that the my last question for you if twenty eight number ones now twenty eight like once concerts return. You're at the point now where you could do. Two nights in a city playing pretty much all number ones and other massive songs didn't quite number one is that something that you'd want to do is do two nights and a city making sure you get all the hits in what i wanna play in front of a of a full crowd and two nights probably will be one night too many from i guess i guess if people would promise they would come back in the second half then. Yeah that would be a blast. I used to always think that about george strait. I always thought it'd be cool if he did like a marathon like a four or five hour concert just all these number one hits and it was on. Hbo or or something like that. Yeah that's my big idea for george. Anyway he needs it. I think he's he's in the business for some career advice so i'm gonna hit him up. Tell him he loves it. He loves to work. I'll tell you

Finding Positive Places Online

"Today we're talking about digital self care so nicole had come across a mention of this. This on lied. They called it a self care crawl so in trying to understand what that meant. We decided we just talk about Sort of feel good stops online feel-good places to go online since we can't really go anywhere in person right now so when you're when you're looking to just maybe blow a little steam or just have a little hit of endorphins. Where do you go online nicole. You had some. You had some ideas in mind or you have a little kind of. Yeah will i. I mean yeah so first of all the title was attractive because it may be thinking of other types of crawls around college days liver sadly lost in news core. yeah time but It actually was kind of an interesting idea. Because i thought you know when i if i have been working all day or if i've been out about or If i've been doing housework what am i kind of ways that i carve out time for myself is a computer and then i have like my favorite sites that i go to or you know things that i do is kind of like a little routine right. That's gonna wear. I can escape for a few minutes. I'm not having to shop for anybody. I'm not having to make appointments for anybody. Not having to send emails. Anybody is kinda like that little time that myself and of course you know it's like a total luxury to even dream about some of these things for example you know one of my favorite. To's is the ralph lauren website. And i liked the look at you. Know what's on that site and And then another one of my favorites doubt stops as the kate spade website so this kind of a trend right out the window shopping. But on down cle- yes that's awesome with the online. And then of course i always go to a couple of my favorite facebook groups and check out that because there's really nothing ever negative. That happens on there so that's good and In my face yeah right right kind of a little bit of a Doesn't really make sense. But yeah so i thought we could just kind of expand more on that i mean. What do i mean. I'm sure you both have some of your favorite stops online. That you that you go to or that's part of your day or your routine. So yeah kind of elaborate on the like what or do you just kinda do your work shut your computer down and then you move on. I used to have a list of really fun. Twitter accounts that i would go on and that we made a little bit of respite. I would go and see what all those people were saying. There were always funny and entertaining and then politics happened and twitter just became a surging cesspool of strife and anger. And i couldn't go there anymore because my fun little entertaining twitter people had opinions on things and whether agreed with them or not. It just made me mad. So i had to step away from twitter and facebook also friends who i used to enjoy following to see what was happening in their day day to day life also had opinions and again whether i agreed or disagreed it all just made me angry and that is not what you're looking for when you're doing your self care crawl so i found recently a combination of snoozing everybody who is melting off and joining a a facebook group that was extremely positive and extremely prolific. Pretty much gave me a safe place to go and just sort of reveling in salinas and fun. That for me was a. It's a group of fans of the bobby bones show. They call themselves the b. team. They sort of singlehandedly. Got him memorable ball trophy on dancing with the stars and they have this facebook group that they mentioned it on the show and so it grew by like i think ten thousand people over long it got very large but it's generally not one hundred percent because people are people but it's generally very positive and just go to my newsfeed now in its all be team and that's just fine q. Pictures people's kids fund things that happened on the show pictures that where they saw bobby bones at a concert as just very entertaining in very low stress and very enjoyable so that has been a real self care thing. I highly recommend snoozing all your friends. You don't wanna see right now. Look joining something where people will talk about nonsense

But I don't want those things to paint a picture of the now some cool guy with a degree from a fancy college who could have been whatever wanted you know. I'm a kid from a really small town in Arkansas Mountain. Pine Arkansas population. Seven hundred. Seventy two. Who knew that if you had wanted to be something in this world and achieve his dreams that he put in real hard work. He didn't have advantages. Although I'm saying he that's me feels little weird to say that. But you get it that I would have to fail time and time again and I have to get used to being rejected all along the way and someday someday after all these years and years of hard work and determination this person would be ridiculed by his peers and be dubbed an overnight success which is crazy but as I sit here before you today. I'm in my isolated studio tucked away in a corner of stairs in my house. I'm quarantine with a girlfriend. Who is ten times more attractive than me? And that's me on a good day that can be you one day but if you're thing where the girls are a guys or dressing up like furry animals rubbing together. Whatever your thing is I'm not going to judge you but if you want you can do it because it's a crazy world. We're living in right now. No doubt about it. The Corona virus pandemic is happening and it feels like the last time I left my house. Oracle was still on TV. Is that? It's been that long by the way for those younger number article. He was lovable nerd in the nineties. Tv Show family matters for those of you too young to him. What a TV. Is that big black box. That your mom and Dad would angle all the furniture in your living room towards and I know you're probably all gotten really GONNA make a tick. Tom Dancing videos with your cat but are also sad. I thought it missing your graduation ceremonies and that stinks. Like I hate that for you and I wanted to share with you guys a little bit of my story so you feel less alone because I hate that you can't do. What is a big part of our lives? Which is going through graduation but you can be stronger because of it. I promise you that everyone who has ever walked the stage before you had to overcome obstacles to get where they are and achieve their goals and maybe they're obstacles didn't come in the form of a global pandemic believe. There is some beauty in dealing with wrenches thrown. In your gears. You probably heard the phrase that tough times. Never last people do right. And that's true now more than ever as we wait for the world to get back to normal or whatever normal may look like you guys will be navigating in that road and you can choose to go on to a one or two ways. Feeling like life isn't fair because you don't have it easy like those before you or you can take it in stride. I realize that if you can get ahead of this out on top that you'll come out stronger than anyone in history. You'RE GONNA learn so much now you get to write your own story. They may cancel your graduation. They cancel every event till the end of the year. But they can't cancel your dream. They can't cancel you. Make yourself essential if you look back in history. You could find people before you who at one time. Were dubbed as being non essential while Disney was labeled unessential by the Kansas City Star. According to his editor he was fired because he quote lacked imagination and had no good ideas. Walt freaking Disney Steve Jobs. He was labeled on essential by Apple. He was fired by the company. He founded after one of his Apple. Products was deemed a failure in the eighties. Winfrey unessential TV station in Baltimore. Seven and a half months into her reporting job there. She was fired and reportedly told by a producer that she was unfit for television news. You're talking about three of the biggest successes in American history. All we're told is not good enough for you at one point and every successful person's career and probably more than that they were labeled on essential every person you look to and admire for achieving. Their goals has felt so many times along the way. And that's what I'm here to talk about. They too were threatened to being canceled but they didn't let us stop them. They made themselves be undeniable. They made their dreams and there are worth essential to them and then made it essential. Everyone else to my mantra for years has been fight grind. Repeat if you've ever heard that before I would suspect you haven't because I'm not famous like Hillary Clinton and Oprah or anybody else's doing one of these talks find grind repeat. It's easy to fight is saying something that you want to do and knowing you WanNa do it and having the passion to do it. That's just getting started. That is the fight. The grind is the everyday routine. It's the consistency tunnel. That is not comfortable because every day. It doesn't feel like you're getting ahead. Somedays feels like you're losing a step it's discipline and the repeat is resilience because you might not gonNa make the first time or the forty second time or my case in nine hundred thirty seven time but being able to bounce back and do it again. That's the repeat that's the fight the grind and the repeat until you get. It doesn't have to be a job. Could be family. It could be helping. It could be work. I wanted to be on the radio and TV my whole life. I knew that since I was a kid and it wasn't the people in my hometown. Ever Stop Me from achieving that dream. They just didn't know that dream could ever be accomplished because no one had ever seen had achieve a dream like that. It wasn't a reality kids like me. Didn't have that option of someday having a big fancy pants career like I have now the struggle daily just to get food on the table. Most people in my hometown worked at the Sawmill. The struggle was just have food on the table. So wasn't they didn't WANNA DREAM WAS. There is no room for a dream because you just had to give food it. Make sure the bills are paid. Even for me I was the first person ever graduated from High School in my family. The thought of someday graduating high school and going into college was never really in the cars thought of it but I knew if I ever wanted to get my dream job I would have to do just that. So that's why I made doing well in school. Such a priority. It was my way out of small town. There was divided by railroad tracks still to this day and systematic study hard. I had to get good grades. Sat's and act's add to land the jobs that were cleaning. The radio station convince the people that same radio station. That a Dorky guy with glasses could actually get on the air. All these really small steps happened way early by the way. I'm SORTA really small steps today. No it's really non-glamorous things that you're going to do. That makes all the difference in the world. I've been on the radio for over twenty years now. I have the biggest country music radio show in America because when ever had I'll be honest with you but I've only ever been able to get to the place where I am now because of all the really small steps I've taken all the adversity that I have been through and learned from in the chaos that I've been able to navigate along the way basically. It's my tool belt. I've used them as tools to craft my own dream. I learned and I'm not kidding. You that world is bendable you can create the world you WanNa live in but it does take work but again you can create the world you wanna live in. You can decide what you want to do. You can set those terms and you can go do it if you WANNA bad enough. You don't wake up one day and decide marathon you kill yourself trying but what you can do is wake up one day and go out and run a marathon and then decide to take a walk and walk leads to a job and that job works into a run and before you know it can finish. Line of the marathons happening now. Doesn't come quick. It doesn't come easy but if that's what you really want. There is no doubt that you can do it. But you don't get to that finish line without shedding some but sweat and some tears from all parts of your body along the way and bus. Where does not cute? I Dunno my girlfriend's got a nice little butts said no one likes to talk about their butts sweat. No one puts that on instagram. And I haven't been that a non funny way. Nobody puts the hard work on instagram really. Social Media's the trophy case so stop looking at other social media counts going man. They got it all figured out. I'm GonNa tell you the more they're flexing the less they got in reality. The hardest working people. I know that have great jobs and great careers and thinking big plans. They don't post that stuff that much. So stop looking at social media as basically a trophy case of all the things that haven't haven't gone your way or their way in life you crying in a pile of dirty laundry after not landing. That job you WANNA. Last Tuesday does not look good in a post post either. So it doesn't matter if you have the Octavia filter not or the hemingway filter. Whatever all those filters are but let's not dreams are built on right. It's the stuff people don't see much like all the anxieties. You're feeling right now because you're graduating you're going out into the real world and you don't know what the cost is to happen. You would've known anyway. I'll be honest with that. You want to know what's going to happen in the world anyway. You'd have been like what do I do? But on top of that. Fracking coronas here. Are you kidding me actually? I'm excited for you. Because with any struggle come so much learning for me. I went through a lot of crap to get where I am today and I used to look back and go. I feel sorry for that food stamp. Kid who's a little shorter than everybody else? Little poor than everybody else less athletic than the other guys who didn't have a mom who's an addict whose dad left. I felt sorry for that Kid. Does me right now back. I'm so happy that I had that struggle because now I'll go back to the tool belt. I have the fricken tools I have on my have all the tools. There's nothing in life right now. That's going to hit me that I can't take you know why because I've already been through it and going through hard times as Sucky as it seems sometimes is actually a really good place for to be because you're learning you're acquiring those tools so are you willing to go and sit through all the hard stuff to get what you want. Most people are. I'll be honest with you. Most people are People. Say they want it and then when it comes down to really wanting it. Most people want run a marathon a marathon. I haven't been in the work for that. Thanks that's crazy talk. Most people want to run a marathon. And they're like I one day but they don't ever put in the time I done a couple of triathlons when it comes to work. Most people want to be a big fan spans radio show talk to millions of people every day beyond TV right books. But it's all the stuff that you don't see that actually make that happen. It's the tiny decisions every single day when no one is watching you. It's not an instagram post. Its life and if you're willing to do that he can be whatever you want and I'm excited that you have a struggle right now because you're going to be smarter and stronger because of it now. I don't know if you're listening to these other ones. I haven't heard any other speeches that celebrities way richer and cooler demeanor giving and they may say they feel completely bad.

It's all built on stuff that people won't see remember that there should be a voice in your head right now and talking to you because going on and it may say to you to make it. Will there even be a place for my crazy dreams? Wants us is all said and done that. Voices the test because if you're starting to question and go. I don't know maybe that's not for you but if you hear that and you go yeah of course there. Is that what you're supposed to do? You found it. That's it this is all just the test a test that started once. Your life got flipped upside down. Take a minute just sit right there. I'll tell you how became the principal Cowbell era. That's another nineties. Tv show. I didn't mean all that stuff before there. I'm not here to deny the fact that it doesn't suck right now but it's the world living in now you either run with it or you run away from it that's it. It's okay to be upset that you're missing out on getting to walk across the stage. Nobody clapping all your family and friends. You should be sad about that. Take a minute. It'd be sad. That's okay and although it may feel like all your hard work will be for nothing without that moment. I'm here to tell you you're GONNA be fine. You're going to be glowing ten years from now you'll look back and realize you were the first in history to celebrate your graduation. Virtually that makes you special if anything else and did you really want to sit in some smelly old Jim crammed in an uncomfortable chair. Faking enthusiasm for all these random people. You don't even know probably I. It's way too long. Anyway I'll be honest with you. Make the most of this moment. You'll regret it if you don't. I know it may feel like you've been cheated out of his senior year as you saw the class to graduate before you get all the fun things for you high schoolers. Maybe you've missed out on a senior trip or prom or the shot at that crushed the never go out with you anyway for college kids. Maybe you didn't get to finish that internship you'd invested so much time into sometimes we need to storm. There are times in my life when storm is led me to a better place given me a reset strong. My head storms can be great maybe not right in the middle of the high winds pelting rain to the storm but when it blows over you really appreciate the view so if anything this is giving you a headstart to finding out that one life isn't always fair but the good thing is you can learn from it and move onto the next phase and be stronger because of it the end of highschool you going to college with the fresh start. No one will remember the nickname. The mean kids gave you in school t-bone from that time. Your shorts split wide open while wrestling another dude. That's me no one remembered as they kind of you get it the college. Hey you're in the real world now talking to you. It may look a little different right now so come on in grab facemask sanitize your hands take the world by storm even if you have to stand six feet away from your new boss. "Which is even more crazy moss on your bookshelf or your kindle got a couple New York Times bestselling books there and you know. I didn't make the last part of promise but I don't want those things to paint a picture of on some cool guy with a degree from a fancy college who could have been whatever he wanted. You know I'm a kid from a really small town in Arkansas Mountain. Pine Arkansas population. Seven hundred seventy two. Who knew that? If you WANNA be something in this world and achieve his dreams that he'd have to put it in real hard work. He didn't have advantages by the way I'm saying he. That's Philip Weird to say that but you get it that I would have to fill time and time again and then I have to get used to being rejected all along the way and someday someday after all these years and years of hard work and determination this person me would be ridiculed by his peers and be dubbed an overnight success which is crazy but as I sit here before you today. I'm in my isolated studio tucked away in a corner of stairs in my house. I'm currently with a girlfriend. Who is ten times more attractive than me? And that's me on a good day. That can be one day. But if that's your thing where the guys or dressing up like furry animals rubbing together whatever your thing is. I'm not going to judge you but if you want. You can do it. Because it's a crazy world. We're living in right now. No doubt about it. The Corona virus pandemic is happening and it feels like the last time I left my house. Oracle was still on. Tv is that it's been that long by the way for those of you to younger and burkle. He was the lovable nerd in the nineties. Tv Show family matters for those of you too young to what a TV is that big black box. That your mom and Dad would angle all the furniture in your living room towards and I know you're probably really gonNA make time dancing videos with your cat but are also sad. Thought Missing your graduation ceremonies and that stinks. I hate that for you and I wanted to share with you guys a little bit of my story so you feel less alone because I hate that. You can't do. What is a big part in all of our lives? Which is going through graduation. But you're gonNA be stronger because of our promise you that everyone who has ever walked the stage before you had to overcome obstacles to get where they aren't achieve their goals and maybe they're obstacles didn't come in the form of a global pandemic but I believe there is some beauty in dealing with wrenches thrown in your gears if I heard the phrase tough times never last people do right. I mean that's true now more than ever as we kind of wait for the world to get back to normal or whatever normal may look like you guys will be the ones navigate in that road and you can choose to go onto a one or two ways feeling. Life isn't fair because you don't have it easy those before you or you can take it in stride and realize that if you can get ahead of this they come out on top that you'll come out stronger than anyone in history. You'RE GONNA learn so much now you get to write your own story. They may cancel your graduation. They may cancel every event of the end of the year. But they can't cancel your dream can't cancel you make yourself essential if you look back in history you can find people before you who at one time. Where dubbed as being Non Walt Disney was labeled unessential by the Kansas City Star according to his editor he was fired because he quote lacked imagination and had no good ideas. Walt frigging Disney Steve Jobs. He was labeled on essential by Apple. He was fired by the company. He founded after one of his Apple. Products was deemed a failure in the eighties. Oprah Winfrey unessential by TV Station Baltimore seven and a half months into her reporting job there. She was fired and reportedly told by producer that she was unfit for television news. You're talking about three of the biggest successes in American history. All we're told as not good enough. It's not for you at one point in every successful person's career and probably more than that they were labeled on essential every person you look to and admire for achieving. Their goals has failed so many times along the way. And that's what I'm here to talk about. They too were threatened to being canceled but they didn't let us stop them. They made themselves be undeniable. They made their dreams and there are worth essential to them and then made it essential. Everyone else to mantra for years has been fight grind. Repeat and if you've heard that before I would suspect you haven't because I'm not famous like Hillary Clinton Oprah or anybody else's doing one of these talks find grind repeat. It's easy the fight is saying something that you want to do and knowing you want to do it and having the passion to do it that's justify getting started that is the fight. The grind is the everyday routine. It's the consistency tunnel. That is not comfortable because every day doesn't feel like you're getting ahead somedays feels like you're losing a step it's discipline and the repeaters resilience because you're not gonNa make it the first time or the forty second time or my case and nine hundred thirty seven time but being able to bounce back and do it again. That's the repeat that's the fight the grind and the repeat until you get it does have to be a job can be a family. Most people my hometown worked at the Sawmill. The struggle was just have food on the table. So wasn't they didn't want to dream. Was there is no room for a dream because you just had to get food it makes. The bills are paid even for me. I was the first person ever graduate from High School in my family. The thought of someday graduating high school and going into college was never really in the cards. That thought of it but I knew if I ever wanted to get my dream job. I'd have to do just that so that's why I'm doing well in school. Such a priority. It was my way out of a small town was divided by railroad tracks. Still to this day I had to work the system to study hard to get good grades on my sat's and act's add to land the jobs that were cleaning. The radio station convinced the people that same radio station. That a Dorky white guy with glasses could actually get on the air like all these really..
