"About that. Lake me to to control from a young age. I can imagine like you mentioned like like your family or just those. Those dynamics where. I'm sure there was kind of a need to control Like for yourself to feel safe to feel. Yeah just if you'll save like have you. Have you learned anything about bacchus i. I know it's very relatable people. Yeah you know. I think there's definitely a need for control around all of that and then there's also this other layer of like the need to control in order to gain acceptance And love because i felt a lack of that not for my mom but with my father boo. I haven't spoken to in over almost crazy thirteen years. So i think that these things kind of got intertwined on accident if you will you know where all the sudden like the things people were saying about my body kind of got tied in wrapped into this need for acceptance and then also this need to control because if i can change my body if i can make this person happy then they'll love me and if they love me then i'll be happy and then i'm good but it's like at my heaviest and at my thinnest and after. I got my boobs done and after i did attend a cleanse or after whatever it is i still was no happier than i was before. It didn't bring me the relief that i thought that i was gonna get. Is that this love and acceptance that. I'm so fucking hungry for hungry has to come from me and that's really really hard because you're talking about thirty one years of programming in. I mean even though. I didn't know that i was doing that when i was three. Four five six seven up you know to this day like in those young formative years. I didn't realize that that's what i was doing but everything i was. I was training myself in getting into this really deeply ingrained habit of basing myself worse off of everyone else except for myself. So i don't know if i answered your question or not but i think that therapy helps and also just like owning the shit that owns me in private like owning. Not publicly really helps because this disordered eating and you know stuff that i've been struggling with more recently not necessarily like in the thick of it. But i'll just like coming to terms with it has been really it's been really scary mocking online but also really fucking powerful because keeping it in and like pretending like it's unreal is painful but that also comes from the need to control. Because i'm like if people know i've struggled with food and then i hate my body. What are they gonna think It's hard So yeah shame loves when you're alone. Same slave favorite place to be alone with you. I noticed that too. It's like the the electricity of my experience of hating my body. Never feeling all these things really dies down when i've spoken about it and spoken to it. And oh yeah you reclaim your power way. Yup one hundred percent. You're not scared anymore. You know italy it is and then you can actually take action right instead of letting it be this thing that is controlling me which is funny because we're talking about like the need to control but like the reality is you can kind of facts take ownership and actually have true control over this thing by owning it right like it's easier said than done though you know i know that and i'm still. I'm literally working through that right now. In this various moment there are so many blue blocking glasses out on the market. I get view. Sometimes when i found blue blocks did my research and knew that they worked.

"You know out of sight out of mine. Everybody yeah. I love that on the environment and i think that experience extends to so many areas of parenting and household life. Certainly technology is a great example But we do that as well with just especially in the winter with kids inside more realizing they feel happier when they get to move around a lot and i feel happier when they and i get to move around a lot. We did things. Like put a gymnastics matt down our hallway which not the normal declaration but it keeps. Everybody cartwheel down the hallway so we put that in their environment and now they move all day long or we put rock climbing holds across one of the doorways at the top. So they climbed the door frame and hang and they have gymnastics rings in their room. I'm a big proponent of kids are happier when they're moving in so as much as we can put things in their way and their environment just gives them the opportunities to do that and then we're not like always tell them. Don't jump on the table. Don't climb the wall. don't do that. It gives them opportunities and natural outlets for that. Even when it's cold and rainy outside absolutely i love that and the whole you don't want to be telling them what not to do all the time if we can give them up to have that need met in some safe and productive way. "I love. I mean i feel like it's only appropriate that in today's episode. We have a partnership with blogs right. I mean i'm wearing them right now. I mean as you all should be too. I know it goes without saying that. We're such a big fan. You guys are gonna learn so much about this company today and definitely going to want to get in on this. So we're going to spit some facts that you and then obviously give you a discount code so you can go buy this glasses that you've been thinking about this whole entire episode. So welcome to our partnership with blue blocks. You guys are probably well aware but blue light damages our eyes and leads to digital eye strain. I for one didn't think that was a real thing. Until i put on a good working pair of blue light blocking glasses and was like whoa. The headaches are gone. I'm sleeping better. Unlike other types of blue light glasses blocks are evidence backed and made under optics laboratory conditions in korea basically the founders and our dear dear friends we're unhappy with the quality and lack of science behind leading blue light blocking glasses. Brands box was created to change this with high quality lenses for daytime nighttime and even for colored therapy exactly in line with suggested peer review academic literature and again the favorite part about working with blocks is that they have a giving back campaign. They are partnered with restoring vision and their by one gift one campaign so for each pair of blue blocks glasses that are purchased. They donate a pair of reading glasses to someone in need and we absolutely love that me and ask also both have the maverick frames which were definitely big fans of their super comfortable..

"Happy Tuesday. It's six minutes after the seven o'clock hour here on Jason and Alexis in the morning on my talk 1071 I'm Bradley trainer in for Jason. He will be back in just over a week and Joining me? Of course, Alexis Thompson Don McLean and Kenny and ladies and gentlemen, we need to talk about Ellen. Because this is the story that just won't quit. And yesterday there was a new wrinkle. Let's dig into this drama. So Portia de Rossi Ellen's AA. Are they married? Oh, my God! Wife! Yes. Ellen's wife has quote broken her silence on all this drama. Um and we need to talk about it because I have an idea. Of what her response is actually saying So. Did you guys see her? The Hashtags? Yes. Yes, It's a baby blue block that says I see in with Ellen. Be kind to another. Exactly And it says, um to all our fans. We see you. Thank you for your support. It was as you said, Alexis, the Hashtags. That's what really got me. So obviously you don't mean you expect Porsche to stand up for her wife. Right? Of course. Yeah. I mean, why Why wouldn't she and she? Ellen has been in the headlines for the last few weeks. Months. Some would say years in AA Blind item areas. That she is not a fun person to work with. On and that's putting it very mildly. But her it's a toxic work environment, and not only that The other thing that I find kind of remarkable is the amount of people who aren't standing with Ellen the the one person that's kind of getting some buzz about it is Scooter Braun. And I'm thinking, why do you want to be associated with? Oh, you don't want that's when you go. Scooter, could you? Not right now. Thanks. You're not helping the situation? No, No, no, but But you're right. You expect her wife, too, of course stand with her, especially since she is also ah public figure as well. And to your point earlier, Alexis, it was the hashtags that really that's what the wrinkle that got me because the hash tag stop bought attacks. Was at the end of her statement. Yeah, And she has all the guys in with Ellen. I stand with Ellen degenerate. All of those that you normally think be kind to one another. But stop bought attacks. Where does that come from? Robots are attacking the Earth. I hope Oh, no, no, you know, they probably are and why you hope backed on because you know it's you know, it's a painting in a painting or with life. Just something. Everybody's all closed in. We just need something that we have been robots. Thank you. Sorry. Are they really bots? Are they really boxed? Well, that's the point. Yeah, And that's what I think This is. This is how her response tells us a lot more about what she thinks This is all about. So she clearly thinks that a lot of the attacking of Ellen is taking place at the hands of bots. And for the person out there who's like what the heck is about essentially on social media? There are these baht farms. There are companies that you can hire to essentially troll people that you don't agree with, or to put messages out there. That you want to amplify. Right? So you've got all these computer generated Twitter accounts, for example. That can amplify messages with Hashtags over and over again, or storylines. And I think her implication is that all this toxic Ellen stuff Is not true. It's coming from these coordinated attack, but it seems to me like any time somebody doesn't like what somebody else says on Twitter. They accuse them of being Abad. And it just seems over the top. I've been accused many, many times of being a bod that cycle waiters. I'm a real live boy. I'm just some big dummy dummy. Yeah. Oh, and no smoking cigars and drinking coffee and throwing crap out on Twitter. Well, and that's the same with Ellen to like her employees who some of most have remained anonymous. But there have been some who have come out and said, Yeah, I used to work there. And this happened to me or when you look at Brad Garrett or Leah Thompson. There really people they're not yes. And you know On one level you it's It's an easy reaction. Like Oh, this is all just gossip and rumor and innuendo. This is stuff we've been hearing for years. This is not new. The new thing is you have people on the record, which is an entirely different thing. Like you said, Alexis, You've got these Celebrities who likely a Thompson are now willing tto on social media on the records say yes, these stories are true, and not only that it's also people who work for Ellen, who are being accused of gross sexual misconduct and Frankly, sexual assault. So this isn't nothing. I mean, sure. Are there some trolls that make it worse? But like Ultimately, the stories themselves seem to be routed, at least in You know, credible allegations? Yep. What a PR nightmare. What do you think? Helen's PR team? It's thinking or doing right now. No just of quitting. Yeah, exactly. She's just like I found another project. I mean, people are also grateful to be working now, so I guess they're working extra hard. What do you think that she should D'oh? I think she she quit her talk show. Do you think you should just walk away and defeat? Or do you think she should fight for it? Because that's my reaction. Don't I just say I'm out of here? I mean, she's wanted to quit for a long time. All those. I mean, she made a statement like to remember a couple of years ago. Where she basically they're like, Oh, she's going to retire. You know where she just wanted to, you know, take care of animals and To that side of her life. Have this hanging over your head for the rest of your life. How do you do any new projects in the future? I don't know. Well, I thought about that before she was mean. She definitely needs to address some things. You guys actually. Can we keep the conversation going in the next segment? Let's do that. Because I think this is definitely you know a conversation. What does Ellen do next? Melatonin, CBD, Creatine, and Immunity Boosts

"Chris Welcome welcome to another episode of. Ask The guys here. We have a title. So here we are. This is what I would we do. Five or six other episodes like this before it's been a while and well we've done. One and people have been asking so you are again Chris is. Chris Irvine. On that nailed it the Kitale tallest. Trying to new break out a little bit more and changes named you just name. We talk about so. Talk about what you're stuck. We'll talk about it off off off Mike. Be Out. We're GONNA. Talk about stuff. Hopefully, not everything Joseph's. Chris's our resident expert here. BIA curiosity so cuny time. This one is about supplements if we got a lot of questions about. Settlements how to use them when to use themselves. Fire him off to see. We have all right so first question we have is from Heather N. and the question is should I supplement with Melatonin? If I'm having trouble sleeping so I would say no, and we can this. This is in my newsletter couple of weeks ago I. Don't know if you read that, but tour down a little bit. MELATONIN has its place. It is a precursor to a letter to the. Is Naturally secreted by your brain anything that's naturally secreted by your brain. I'm not a huge fan of. Taking Sasha Sisley. This is actually if you look at it, it's the only hormone that you can get without a prescription. Technically. Hormone your body. It's the only way you can get without a prescription interesting, yeah! I mean I. think my thoughts with Milton I think the answers that depends because I think it depends on. If you are living a lifestyle that allows you to produce it naturally so I think if you're a night shift worker, or you're somebody who is able to. You know if you're not, it's not the first step you should take if you're having trouble sleeping so I if you if you're not checking the boxes. With you're trying to improve your sleep quality then you shouldn't be turning Melatonin, but if you are work your work, circumstances are living circumstances. Have you in a position where you aren't going to be able to produce a lot of Melatonin? Naturally then I think you prior getting good sleep is going to be important, and if Melatonin can help that I think it can be a good song. Yeah, so the question is what is melting do and how is it? Producing one is produced by the body naturally. Melatonin essentially just tell you about it activates cascade of different Newark. Chemicals screwed that basically tell you buy. It's time to go to sleep. At screened by Pinal Gland I believe. And it is. Associate with a lot of things, light is major one. So what happens is most people don't. Fall Asleep with the sunset right and so the sun normally go down in all human history, and for every other analysts happens. By starts up regulating melatonin. melatonin sort of master switched. Those tells the rest of your body's going down and shutting down for arrest. When this doesn't happen. Can Be hard to go to sleep, and only that cannot stop you from getting into different stages of sleep as fast as you normally would, so you may be unconscious, but that doesn't mean you're getting the restorative sleep that you normally would so. Why is this problem? While people are after the sun goes down, they're exposed to blue light on their screens fluorescent lights in their house. The suppresses Melatonin production. So if that's the case, you have no other option. Maybe it's a good idea to take it I would take it regularly, but it at the same exact time. You shouldn't be producing it all over the place, so it shouldn't be off the map like. If you're taking Melatonin and you taking it one eight PM. One at ten PM. One and seven PM. In place you basically telling your brand that you're traveling in time zones back and forth and back and forth so I would focus far more on this is a last resort, and for special circumstances moving which we can get into, but the number one thing that I do when I go somewhere as If I have blue light, blocking glasses I blue blocks. and. There's a bunch out there. That's the ones I prefer. If I can't control the lights on my house. I've liked that dim when the sun sets and turn red and orange, after the sun has set, so those are wavelengths that do not. Suppress, Melatonin and this why the lends them blue light blocking glasses, the sandy fill blue light. You think about it like if you're outside at a campfire. The Ladies Very. Orangish, Yellowish Reddish Hue, there's very little to no blue light in there, so that's all from the sun so. Removing that from your day to day, life in is consistently as possible so that way you're not getting these weird signals of your body that you're switching time zones against another completely natural thing for humans to go through. That would be a huge thing, but I think there's a Lotta other things why people aren't getting good sleep, and so assuming that it's because of your lack of Melatonin production is i. think a little silly I think that you could look at. Obviously light is a huge one temperature of your room and then. The ability for light the in your house from. Blue. Blue. I'm trying to your. Shades. blockers no time. Look. light-blocking shades trying to say here. Oh blackout curtains blackout. So those are a good thing, and then we have lights actually if you're in a city where there's a lot of additional light, yeah, we have then lights that turn on the sunlight. One Sunrise should be happening. So this is another. Thing that happens. Has People Get Blackout Curtains? And then they don't wake up to the sun, which is again? In the wrong direction, so we actually have lights that turn on. As the sun rises locally, so you can just do all this stuff is super easy, Philips. Hue Lights, but we have. Great and Eating Super Close about times and I WANNA. Thank people you way too close to bed. I put at least three hours before you try to shut down and mental stimulation is also too much, so people are worried about this at that looking at the news. They're watching TV. They're just in. There had even hanging out with friends like I've done last couple of nights. You know people talk. Nine nine thirty s usually go to bed then I get home and it looks super stimulated. I can't sold out for a couple of hours. There's a lot of reasons why people wouldn't be able to sleep or feeling Russ restless. Having lack of militant brushes by news worry about? Your thoughts here. Will agree with that I. Think the the two things I would add to. That I agree that like I think it's a last ditch. Thing that you need to try. There's a of other things you can get in check with your environment and with your health habits before you need to turn to that supplementation. Do things I would add for helping is. Sleeping with your phone either out of room, or at least face down or not sleeping with the television on. There's some really interesting research out there that even when your eyelids are closed in your sleeping, flashing lights can cause face shifts in your circadian rhythms that can suppress Melatonin production or ramp up cortisol in the middle of the night. Things like that so. That's can be as simple as having your phone facing up and it lighting up while you're sleeping. That can completely threw off your sleep. So I thought that was really interesting thing when I was reading that studies. That would be a big thing. To consider and then. There's there is some interesting research on Melatonin for neuro degenerative diseases where you know, it seems like as we age, our natural production of Melatonin starts to decrease in. They've done studies where supplementing with it in elderly populations really increases cognitive function. That actually just came out this year I. Think showing that so like you said I think it's either. It's either a last ditch effort, supplement or something used for very specific circumstances.

"Now. We're going to see them across the board in women with different Reproductive type conditions. We can treat them very similarly the people that come in with PCs. Though I'm going to have probably a different mindset as it relates to okay which hormones do we want to treat here and it's also going to depend a lot on their age got and then another follow up to that. I'm curious about dirt methods of birth control and how they might impact people and their experience in in. Harriman ause inches hormonally overall. Because I know what options out there and I get a lot of questions from women about this and I have no idea. I'm not a doctor so I don't answer them but I'm curious. How if if they do come into play how they come into play well so the interesting thing is what we often see? Is that women that enter this period. Because they're having indies irregular periods oftentimes very heavy periods because of the high levels of estrogen and the ANABELA Tori cycles. They might experience because of the the low progesterone or as a result of low progesterone will see them get recommended to have say a marina which is a her gesture on alluding. IUD place because that will help it provides for a local installation of progesterone in the area of the uterus. It can help reduce bleeding. oftentimes just stops periods altogether which can by women a few years before they actually enter menopause so it can really reduce the amount of bleeding and blood loss women experience? Some women are treated with low. Dose oral contraceptives because remember when you're Peri Menopausal Housley. You're still capable of becoming pregnant because you do ovulate sometimes and if you ovulate in you have intercourse you can become pregnant. So some some some doctors will use a various various types of oral contraceptive usually combination contraception however women that are over forty and or women that smoke may be more risk for blood. Clots if they're on or contraceptives so that's less and less the comment. We see that less and less commonly nowadays and that certainly nothing that Somebody in functional or integrative medicine probably would would recommend. I think it's definitely worth especially for the women out there. That don't tend to go to the doctor a lot if you're on an oral contraceptive. You may not really see a lot of these changes because you're going to be getting a pretty constant dose of Estrogen progesterone throughout the days that you're taking in your your tablets so you may not get as much of the hot flashes in your periods are GonNa be regulated However it might be worth for sure a visit at age forty eight forty nine to start discussing how to manage these symptoms or how how long should continue to be on oral contraceptives therapy and I say that because of what I mentioned a minute ago about the risk for blood clots especially if you have a family history of ought it may be advisable to come off of that into twos another course of therapy? You definitely want to wait until you've been off of your oral contraceptives captives for a period of time at least four to six weeks before checking hormone levels because clearly if you're checking them while you're on those those types types of hormones it's GonNa throw off the results so having an appointment Forty eight forty nine. No later than fifty to discuss okay. I'm entering this this age range. Where most likely I'm going to be entering menopause in the average age in the US is fifty one For Women Becoming Menopausal and so while there is a range of typically four to five years on either side of that I think going to the doctor no no later than age. Forty eight would be advisable to see if there are some other ways to to manage this period of of life in the same way possible the. That's yeah great advice. This podcast is sponsored by blue blocks that's B. L. U. B. L. O. Accident they create stylish effective blue light blocking glasses that are used for any time of day. That's that's designed for people who work under artificial light during the day but they don't WanNa look like they're wearing orange glasses. This one is designed to target the light that creates digital ice ice ice train migraines headaches and more but it's the most gentle easy inconspicuous lent their summer glow lens steps it up a notch and this is great for people well who are exposed to attend artificial light all day or who as a result suffer from migraines anxiety depression or seasonal affective disorder and this blocks the light the spectrums of light that contribute to those conditions and even further step up for better sleep. Their Sleep Lens is a complete blue green light blocking full Red Lens and and the idea is to use this after the sun goes down to when the sun goes down the right glasses go on and the studies are showing that by blocking let you can increase your Melatonin production action and improve sleep. And I know I've seen this change in my sleep tracking as have many other people who have made that adjustment. So for me. Personally I've never been on a form of hormonal contraceptive at all. But I track my cycle using several APPs actually in in a fee and body temperature. I hope I still have quite a bit of time before. Peri menopause but I'm curious for those of us who do track our cycles. You mentioned that cycles can space out. Are there other changes that we would expect to notice if we were actually watching for fertile science Would like a certain phase of the cycle tend to lengthen would be the loop as or what will we see there so so typically your cycles are GonNa get the time between your cycles. Say Your typical period might be every twenty eight twenty nine days. They tend to get a little bit shorter and that variation tends to be the Lucio face. We're actually shortening. And that's what accounts for the change in the overall all cycle links. More often than not. You're GONNA see women that have heavier bleeding. Maybe more clots in and it can be a little off. Putting women often won't come.

"We have our blue blocks or motion blocks like forward, which will take the robot ahead about six inches or backward or turn writer, turn left. We have blocked that light up a lightbulb on the robot. And we'll have a little picture of a light bulb in the color of the light that will come up, and we actually have some conditional blocks. They say things like repeat until and they give the child a chance to say repeat doing what repeat going forward until what until you detect a wall in front of you. And fill the blocks can actually be somewhat sophisticated, but the kids don't feel like it's hard to learn right. Oh, that's that's the nature of what these these blocks can do. I don't wanna say that they're that. They're sub routines per se because we are actually working out a way to represent several teams in blocks. So that young kid can understand what several teen is and that'll radically increase the amount of flexibile in creativity that they can use to design programs and the challenges to do it in a way that they can really understand. And and that is another question, which is are there variations on this? Or they're further different versions different block sets are different robots for kids depending on age. You have a path for kids using this going from a simpler use to more complex use. I'm well. The simple answer is no it's the same robot body in the same block architecture. If you will we do offer four different kits and they mostly differ in how many of the different sensor components, motor components, art components, and and programming blocks that you have, but I wouldn't say that the least expensive one is exclusively and only for young kit younger kids like four year old than the most expensive ones were exclusively for seven or eight year olds it could break down that way. But it's it's really about about how much richness of curriculum. How much richness of play you can do with each kit. Now, we do have a curriculum that that for for schools that are really trying to be a little bit more formal about how to introduce this that that does introduced concepts in a in a step wise manner, and but it's not necessary. And it's not it doesn't break down by kit. It's more about how you use the kit that makes it a more for for. The four year old or more appropriate for the seven year old, right? Hi, this is really a basic. I I'm jealous of all these kids. I mean, I totally understand why you have such a massive footprint into education. Right. Do what is a typical Kibo deployment in a school? How many robots how many kids? That's a great question. So there's a I'm gonna say there's a half dozen different ways. I've seen it done. But I'd say my favorite picture looks like this the teacher decides they're going to do a unit on on steam, and it's going to be based on the Kibo platform, and the really experienced teacher thoughtful teacher will coordinate it with something else. Maybe it'll coordinated with a cultural studies program, they're doing on different countries in Latin America, and the they'll be about I'm gonna say two three maybe as as many as four but not more than four kids group that worked with single robot kit. So by having multiple kids, there's a kind of medal earning that takes place that I'm particularly partial to because it mirrors the way the real world works, whether you're working in technology or in the arts, or you know, in the mea any business. Genetic a collaboration. And so we've designed the Kibo to be really amenable to a collaborative work environment. And so you see these groups of two to four kids in a circle for maybe twenty or thirty minutes doing some piece of the problem. So the teacher will say something like, you know, we studied these these seven countries in Latin America each group will get a let's say a two minute video of of a needed dance..
