"Women's fashion. Easter toxic masculinity toxic. T shirt, that's all you need. That's what you ought to wear under red carpet jeans and a t-shirt ripped jeans. No shoes. That that's still is the most perplexing thing of all as to who was it. That said, you know, let's take and tear up our genes where people normally poor people wear them and say, gee, I wish I could get some new genes didn't have all these Olson, we'll tear them up and sell them for more than regular jeans. That's Hobo chic, let's say more than half of my jeans holes in them. It's a safety thing guy sees you and ripped jeans. Is he going to rob you guys board? I am. Stay away from him. Oh, man. I was looking at events this weekend in Tampa Bay area. And we didn't put on here that we got the east west shrine game. Yes, Saturday, that's a huge thing. Where's the dividing line for that? The dividing line who plays for the eastern who pays for the west? Now. That's a good question. I'm guessing the sippy river, that's usually. Okay. That means you're in the east or you're born in east. Should we make it a playoff system nor southeast and west? Can we do that? College football games. There is a north south game there. Nope. Just east west just think the senior bowl is north south. Yeah. I think something is. I think I've heard of an north south game now will make it a thing. We did talk to executive director of the east west Ryan game yesterday, Patrick green. And I put that up on the blog. So if you go to WFL, news dot com and go to the Tampa Bay blog you can get like a kind of a rundown of what's to expect to the game. And one of the things that'll happen is our buddy berry Smith is going to be inducted into the east west shrine game hall of fame. He played their way back. Let's see it would have been about seventy two or seventy three and then became very active with the Shriners. It's the shrine game. And he's done a lot for them since then. And the other thing I want to get you to explain here. I like the name of it the pig z z Hill's barbecue and blues festival in zephyr hills. The pigs e-, I think it's just pigs. Well, pigs Zinzi hills. That's actually a pretty big event. That's probably the biggest event that separate households. Thousands of people come out. It really is a good time. I've gone the past few years you eat pig's of what's going on at the wild boar, and then cook them now you just bite right into them. The parachute center. A lot of people are going to be dropping in on that one with litho parachute. Yes. We've heard the saying when pigs fly when it's going to happen. Okay. Parachute in shooting. Pigs in anybody is good at cornhole. They're having a huge cornhole tournaments. I the money though, if you got some cornhole scale like myself, then you should probably had the Thetford and joined the tournament. Think anybody throw San little sandy back into the whole. Okay. That's it something else. Should they have corn dogs? Maybe like bacon corn dogs. Who is that a thing? We bet the corn dogs. Yeah. Now instead of the breading, maybe you could just wrap it in bacon. Okay. That'd be good. No do this. By the way, we need to do a poll on do you think? That the next president the successor to President Trump, whether it be twenty twenty or twenty twenty four will be a woman, you know, Jack, I'm such an overachiever that I started the poll for you yesterday. And so far eighty five percent. No, people do not think our next president democrat or Republican. I made sure to put that in. There will be a woman. Almost tend to disagree. I think if I had to bet on it. How about you? I do not know you don't think it will be about you. I don't you. Don't think it will be Katie now. I don't it was Hilary's turn and she didn't even get it. Yeah. But now you got one there by the barrel loader running. I mean, and you know, who I think has the best shot right now. And she's not committing to running. But I bet she will Michelle Obama. I I could see that happening. I don't think it's going to happen. But I could definitely see happening. Yeah. She had an overwhelming bestseller. She's everywhere. She goes she's treated like a goddess is that what we go by. Now, you she had a bestseller everywhere. She goes it people flocked to see her. They're going crazy lover I did see Kirsten gillibrand or Kristen gillibrand was running now too. Yeah. Another one another woman in for the ratio. I think Farah bet man, I bet on it. Now, we're going to have a woman president after well twenty twenty or twenty twenty four very toxic thing to say with your masculinity. Well, I mean, you've got may prime minister may in England. The iron maiden. What's your name? Rupaul Margaret, Margaret Thatcher. And I mean, it's a big thing. No big deal over in Europe. Do it all he was the iron maiden. It's five forty six because she ironed real. Well. It's five forty six and toxic. Maxine. "Bennett. Carolina for fourteen years last five is a defensive line coach and. Adam. Adams Zimmer who is been at Minnesota is dad is the head coach there, but Adam has been fourteen years in the league and then coaching the linebackers at Minnesota. They're the two head coaches at all the other assistance, our current NFL coach for people that haven't been to this game. Or really haven't heard much about this game. It's really cool. You're seeing the future stars of the NFL. What can they expect? When they go to the game. Well, let's just a a game where these guys are showcasing their talent. It's a it's a good thing about these guys at all star game is they're trying to put their best foot forward because what this has been for them as a week long job interview. We've had three hundred NFL scouts and coaches and the people here watching them practice, and so they're not they're not just going through the motions. They're out there trying to show their wares. Yeah. I understand that you got more than three hundred EastWest shrine game alumni that are on NFL rosters each year. It's pretty significant. It's a little over three hundred and it's been consistently that way for a long time. Cheers game for example on opening day. We had seventy one players on NFL rosters our practice. Squads? Wow. That is great. And among the things that'll be happening to you're going to be installing one of the former well, he's an alumnus of the east west shrine game. And that would be berry Smith who lives here in the bay area and used to be a Tampa Bay buccaneer. Berry was I guess you could almost say he was one of the original Tampa Bay Buccaneers because he was taken in the expansion draft. He'd been drafted by Green Bay. And when the tapa got the expansion draft very came to Tampa. And he has been quite a player here since his retirement from football and working with the Shriners and doing lots of stuff around here. I mean, he's.

"Has been able to be around more there and now able to to take a bigger role. And so that allowed us to to get Sheldon here, but I didn't know him for tournament in Rockford and after working with them for a year just first of all tremendous person. And cares. A lot of other team in the players with his got a varied background his playing career. Came probably came back way to the NHL and turned into former games and sound like often played in a bunch of different leagues. So that I think that experience and he's been to Europe to which I think is a positive it makes them really valuable and a lot of different ways of the king do many different things so nice album nice tour stop having a resource, adding a voice our together. Anyway, so, but he does have a different background than the rest of us. So that's that's perfect. That makes our staff deeper and. And better berry. Always been the plan that eventually hill move back to his previous role. He's been here to help with the transition helped me get accustomed to NHL level, and he's been great, but not a long term solution. But as far as number don't really have nothing sentenced on the buried that. Jeremy, of course, alluding to is berry Smith, the distinguished looking Blackhawks assisted four now who has lent a helping hand and will as you heard return to his previous role once things are settled here as for Brooke bake himself. We mentioned a twenty thirteen Cup winners kind of a seventh d here with the Blackhawks. He's thirty eight years old four years older than Jeremy Carlton who will turn thirty four in next week. And let's hear from the former Blackhawks defensemen. The former NHL veteran blue liner, Sheldon Brooklyn here. I'm looking forward to it. There's a lot of guys I know on the roster. The guys have worked with in Rockford. So I've had that level of familiarity with them. So I think that'll help him. Just I don't take one day at a time and getting getting my feet wet and get things going here. It's been hard as transition transition. Honestly, sometimes when guys are on the ice are acting up. You're just you don't have a hand in it anymore. You know, you get a little fired up.

"So TSN is calling me on the phone while I'm driving the kids are crying in the background my brothers trying to beep in because he sees my picture on the thing on TSN knew trying to talk to me, and they can't even get a word in. 'cause I can't hear squad kids are going nuts. And then we get to the airport. There's no way I'm making gametime for this at all. But I fly into Columbus. When I land is guide books like he's pissed off to see me. I forget what he he might even still be. He's last name's Neil. He's like dirty guy Chiyoda. Yeah. Yeah. Him. He's waiting there. And he's like, let's go grab your bags. I'm like, okay. Like, I think we're just doing the rank. He's like, no. He's like we only have five defense. You're going lineup. I'm like Jimmy games starting right now. He's like, yeah. It doesn't matter. Wayne wants you to play some like holy shit. So we get in the car. And obviously, this is the power of the great one. I've got a police escort first time in my life where I didn't break the law that I had a police escort one cop car in front of me one top terror behind and their wizened through Columbus to get me to the game. And I'm like guys you realize I've been help scratch half the year. Like, I'm really not this important. But I guess they also how were you? Well, that's where it gets funny is we get there and STAN the man is trying to so my jersey together in grab me, some gear bear pants, and I. I didn't have any gloves. I wear the bright red gloves from the Red Wings. But I had in the end. Oh god. With awesome. When he ended up having a coffee berry Smith is trying to like come and see me at the first or second TV time out, and he's like you ready to go. I'm like drinking a coffee. I'm I think I'll be ready to go. Then the next time guns and Wayne comes down little hallway in Columbus and says, let's fucking go. Apart from Shane dawn and Tyson. Nash, I had never met anybody on the team before like in person. And so I'm coming out to the bench. And I'm like gloves off like shaking hands with guys. Nice to meet nice to meet you very Smith is like get the fuck on the ice warmup. So now, I gotta pull a whole complete bender move where I'm jumping on the ice little almost doing sideboards in the middle of the TV out just to get one. What's so funny about it? I literally that every game. Are you saying that's a bad thing? I'm in the same boat, buddy. I feel your pain, but think you better than me you won't do boards boards every game. Well, I think I'm better cross over. Yeah. Well, fuck. Go boards boards. Fuck hands out. They biz. Fast AA. Back from ought to be right back. Be right back. That's what it was like. And I I'm getting chirped by Tyson Nash at the same time because we had played together and Saint Louis, and he's just giving it to me and Ron Haines. He's playing for Columbus at the time. And now he's chirping me because we have the same agent, and he's laughing 'cause I got the bright red gloves on and he's like asking me if I bought them out a yard sale on the way to the ranks and their cases, even and I gotta go out there and play but boys, but this is where it gets better. Go out getting the cyst we win the game. No big deal head back areas. Ona sit by the pool of next day. Right. Wow. Isn't a that's a nice little and then fucking ride into the sunset. Would you? I loved playing there. Go ahead there is it true that on the cross cross country flights with the coyotes. Gretzky would just have a magnum bottle of grey goose then you'd landed be gone. I cannot confirm or deny. He's he's the great one. That could probably have me squad without anybody ever. Visit that talking praise. Glenn thing about him. Like, we would be we'd fall for face of the earth. We'd we'd never even existed. First of all he'd have to Google and try to figure out who I was again. Yeah. Yeah. Remember me saying here, but not yet?.

"The funny thing is is I actually that year. Like long story short Gretzky had I played with red ski here in Saint Louis when he got traded here for that Cup of coffee, and he was an awesome guy and got to know him. I was like really young like nineteen or twenty at the time. And you know, you just bucking enamored to be with the great one level and plane with them. And so who good relationship that kinda over the years got better and better and through Brent hall, who's a mutual friend of ours. Lo and behold where yeah, no big deal, boys. Not of heard of. Rivers, Elaine hall. What what's what's what's wrong? In those words. Exactly, right. Trust me. They we wanna party planning liaison. Dude, I've telling you, that's what it was pretty much was my job to be like the the cruise director Julie McCloy from love boat. You were coughing every time so they get opened their beer in the back of the bus. No, what happened was I would take the beer open at forum be the sacrificial lamb, then and it too so everytime. Coach look back. It'd be me the one holding a beer perfect. But. I was in Detroit and things weren't working out with with me and Mr. bad talk at the time. And so I had kinda ask Kenny hall into a trade out of there, and it just wasn't really materializing until trade deadline day. And then on trade deadline day. I was supposed to play that night. And you know, I get the tap on the shoulder a change of plans get a little extra today. And like that point. It's just a kick in the nuts. I mean, I've been healthy scratch to bunch that year already. And it's just one of those days and Stevie why happened to be coming back from an injury. And so he's like come out rimless school grab escape, you know, like tennis shrug it off. And for whatever reason I couldn't truck it off that day. And I remember assistant coach Paul MacLean was skating us, and he's yelling us the whole time. And just rubbed me the wrong way. And then you know, coach coach Babs comes out. Out both his head out from the the runway Joe Louis and kinda looks like to make sure like that. I'm like touching the boards or getting my foot across the line, basically, like making sure I'm skating hard enough. And that was like the last straw for me that day. So soon as he are stuck down back tunnel. I got the puck and just fired one into the bench now not necessarily at him. Now, it wasn't necessarily not at him. But in that direction and that thing rattled around on the bench and off the glass, and he poked his head back out. Didn't look very happy about it. And but two hours later, I was traded to Phoenix coyotes at the time and grants at talked to Holly a little bit and berry Smith reserve from when I was in Detroit. Before. So it was not what you ended up in dater. Pretty much. Yeah. Good. I got traded like a half hour before the deadline. And I remember, you know, my my wife, and my kids I had newborn twin boys and my oldest daughter was in kindergarten, and I'm trying to get my shit together and drive the kids and a mama way to the airport, which you guys know the airport and Detroit's like forty five minutes away from anything. And you know, that's wants me in the lineup that night in Columbus..

"Six. Yeah. Where does coach q rank as far as six people to deal with? Oh, he's right up there. And you wanna talk about popularity. I think obviously Ditka is the most iconic figure in coaching history. This town, he'll always be number one. But I think Q is right there to hockey is not as popular as football baseball, basketball and everything else that knocks it down. But I put you right there. The classiest coolest guy so easy to deal with just you know, everything they said about him at this stiff awkward management news conference today. But it was it was very true. Just a just a real cool hockey guys. So we would. So we were talking about your coaches, Chicago coaches mount Rushmore, we agreed on Halis Quenneville and Phil Jackson. Would it could be your fourth? Oh, absolutely. Even though he only one won his personality was was bigger than life. I think popularity-wise Q is right there. And I I would put him on mount Rushmore. Look, I'm not surprised because you saw what was happening. But like everybody else you're shocked when it actually. A legend. That's why now you had. Did you get attacked with you? I early this morning as soon as I got up I saw it. So who who made the decision in your opinion will John McDonough and STAN Bowman are in lockstep are joined at the hip, and I think, you know, they're all in agreement that this is the move. They had to make ultimately I think it was stands decision. And then rocky and John supported it. I do believe what mcdonagh's said in that. I can't hover over my general manager in veto him on everything and neuter him. I have to let him be the GM. I think this was mostly stand. I'd rather listen. But listen, you could argue that stands should have been fired too. Because my position is Joel Quin villes not the reason for the decline in the Chicago Blackhawks not keeping Joel Merson and giving Brent Seabrook debt contract out of loyalty and past performance, which he never should have done. That was a huge mistake. And there are other mistakes made. And has been saddled with players he didn't want and people talk about let me finish this one rant. You know? The thing that's going through my mind over these past few years accused forced to fire assistant, Mike Haviland. Then he's forced to fire assistant Mike kitchen, then he's forced to accept this berry Smith guy as a power play consulted bring him in. That's an insult to Q. And look very Smith is now on Colloton staff. I mean, so you've got players tweeting out former Hawke players players around the NHL other front office people saying this is a bad move. This isn't fair we shall see. It can work. You never know. But cues not the problem. He's not the problem and to take a chance on a kid like this at this age. Hey, I hope it works. We should support him. But wow. With the said earlier, I mean think of the expectations because John said at the press conference, this isn't a rebuild. This is a remodel. And now you have a guy following. The legend where expectations are this team. That many don't believe is playoff-caliber for obvious reasons is expected to get to the postseason. Well, that was a cute statement. But the reason it's a remodel is because you can't dump these huge contracts of the aging core. Otherwise, this would be a total blow up and rebuild. Well, Jesse said you can't rebuild unless you trade tapes and Brian right? And so if that's the next step so be it. But they better trade him now because the only guy on that team who's part of the core who's going to continue to produce his cane. Right. I want to play you this. So visit a wild caught this though about whether it was Bowman whether it was John McDonough. This is John McDonough listen for the IRA Ference maller. I'm gonna cut it off at that point. But take a lesson. We had not contemplated a decision last year. We didn't have our goaltender. We didn't have Corey Crawford married hosts it was out for the season. I thought and our group thought it was unfair at the time. But where we are right now. We got off to a fairly good start. Start slumped recently. We gotta get this going in the right direction. We want to make sure that we're able to. Salvage the season. Do everything we can to get this, right? I've said this before people always want to talk about what is the right time. John what what what is the right time is June seventh the right time is December tenth the right time. There is no right. This is all based on feel inexperience in a lot of dialogue and conversation with some really smart people as well. As our owner before we get to this point. And I think this is a very patient group. We are built on continuity. Joe was here is our coach for ten years. I've been here going on eleven rocky took over the team eleven years. Stan has been your ten years. Loyalty plays a big role in this. But it has to be loyalty tethered to results at the beginning there when he talked about last year, though, he said, I didn't think it was the right time. Our group didn't think it was the right time, which means they were. We're talking about it. And and he put out a couple of dates there. Don't tell me that firing Joel Quenneville on election day wasn't thought through like they're gonna bury the story or something. If you're gonna fire him you could have done it tomorrow. You could have done it Monday. But this whole thing doing it on election day. And I know I talked to some people in the hawks organization they said that had nothing to do with anything. And I know you guys are gonna kill us for that. I thought that was kinda weak. Some I don't know made themselves look better by at least not making the decision in the off season because you can now look at this and say, well, we gave a hall of fame future hall of Famer chance to turn it around. And we got off to a good start. But then it went south. So then we decided to make the decision, but at least we gave him the chance and didn't fire him in the off season. And not give him a valid point. I think after awhile you with a hall of fame coach, maybe the players stopped listening, and maybe a need that quote, unquote, cliches generic fresh voice and all that stuff maybe that holds true. But my feeling is that q was handcuffed. And that he had to take players who didn't want the take coaches he didn't want and he had to make things work. Did he make it harder on himself though, by being stubborn with other guys? I mean, whether it was who you talk about Nicoletti never wanna play table. He didn't wanna play. Well, guess what? That's his prerogative and he earned that right? As Joel Quenneville. So so what I mean look at I love the guy. It's an emotional time. We all think it's a bad move. If you're a Blackhawks fan, we'll see how it plays out. Who knows? I mean, Jeremy Colloton might turn around to be a whiz kid, and as for Joel he can do whatever he wants with that resume his personality his reputation, he can coach six or seven different NHL teams that are floundering right now. Look what happened in Ottawa six or seven of the players are in an Uber. Yeah. Somebody's videoing them assistant coach, right? The hot season that illegal. I think the guy in charge of Uber in Canada has basically said this violates our policy in Arizona, though. It's when they were in Arizona on a road trip. I thought it was still up in the air as to who videoed. It might have been one of the players, and then somehow it got out. But no, I thought it was the car on the car deck. Okay. That being said there's turmoil and a lot organizations arrangers the the kings, the senators as I said look at Saint Louis, he coached there before there have been promoted. They hire him again will coach get higher. Why not? He's going to get hired. It's up to him. If he wants to keep coaching. I would think I know he's sixty was the oldest coach in the league. But sixty the new forty five come on. And he could continue if he wants to I could see him being a consultant for a team. Yes. Deuba Reid wasn't Phoenix. But for whatever reason the Uber candidate general managers, the one that responded. Asian food anything by me that happens Phoenix. Today was a kick to his marbles and a slap to his face. When he also heard that Joe Mads contract was not going to be extended. So they won't even talk until after the nine this reinforces. The fact doesn't matter who you are Ditka. Got fired Joel Madden probably won't be brought back. Okay. Q gets fired. This is just the standard operating procedure for every pro franchise in sports. This is. Yeah. It's reality you build a franchise you pay your stars. They get old. They start underperforming. You can't dump their contracts. You fire the coach, that's how it works. It's been that way for one hundred years what we need to do. We need to have a a Chicago appreciation party for Joel Quenneville at Chicago com. Let's is there any way we can pull this off where we fill the restaurant with all black hawk stands who want to send him off in style. And we eat and we drink, and we let q tell stories and everybody thinks them. Let's let's find a way to do. We just need cue to agree to that. It's obviously up to him things have to die down party over there without him. Poster of him. I think it would be so cool if we can like a going away party. Here's another thing. I saw pictures of Jeremy Colloton with full facial hair. But I don't think he would even attempt to grow a mustache, you know, you can't compete with that. I'm going to try to fill his shoes, I'm going to do my own thing. But look at the same draft classes, Brent Seabrook. He's the same age as a lot of the players. There is going to be a question of whether the core is going to respect him and buy into his thing. This is not only the firing of Q is huge. But then not then replacing him with the youngest coach ever with hardly any experience at all rather than bringing in a name veteran. Is this part of me felt sorry for him sitting there? This was like a Joel Quenneville coaching funeral. And you know, you're talking about that. And also, by the way, this is our new young coach as always though, you know, rocky really puts it in perspective. And I understand everything he said, and I love the way he brings it all together. And he crystallizes the situation. I just felt like STAN, and John we're really doing a stonewall management thing. In really stand saying there was no friction at all. I can't buy into that. I just can't three one two three three two three seven seven six. I I gotta bring up the the White Sox thing that worries. Now, maybe Jerry Reinsdorf has extended Fred Hoiberg. And he's not wanted to tell anybody. I don't think so either because I want to I want you to try and dissect this you believe the Blackhawks thing was a news dump on election day. I want you to try to translate. What why the White Sox would not want to publicize their manager getting extended? We'll get to that coming up next. It's Waddle and Silvy. ESPN one thousand football.

"You would think if you're doing a lot more poke check in hockey talk when you want you stick a little longer only way waddling and Silvino how I'm on the mod squad hockey chat board right now hard in your face. Mr. dangles, that's his that's his handle says many defensive news longer sticks for obvious reasons on ESPN one thousand dollars like throwing into sites. I don't think I'm allowed to be. An ESPN Chicago. Dancer. Talking about the Blackhawks today the press conference two hours ago. Explaining why they fired legendary head coach Joel Quenneville three cops second most wings in NHL history. Some suggesting maybe the timing is a bit. Strange Jean grecko believes it's a news dump held today at five thirty was just talk us holding court in the makeup room saying that this was done purposely on election day, where most of the television sports casts are non TV. I don't know if there is such a can you do a news dump anymore? Yeah. Isn't exposure. With today's online presence. You know what I'm saying? Reading stuff all the time. Most people consume their news from Twitter like media, see thought you were going to say when no one watches the new I'm I'm waiting till five twenty two. Of the day. I remember those days I wonder what happened to tune in at five twenty two. We call sports phone and see a friend Quinton village. That's a big big thing today. The what's up Fred's can why don't play John McDonough? If you missed the press conference today. Now Mark still believes that this was a Scott Bowman decision. I believe Scott Bowman is probably always wanted to make the change in in recent times. But it's it's sort of got our stands stand a Kim night just to clarify. Yes team. And that it's mcdonagh who says when. I think I think he hinted at that in the answer. Didn't he? I I'm confused. I mean, I'm with you though. I there's no. It feels like it's a John McDonough project. Yeah. So what what what can we play here for two bites? Are this is here? I got it here on my screen was this. Too quick to fire coach q. A lot of people said hates too early in the season. You guys started out. Wow. You went through a cold streak. Why firearm now should you've given the team more of an opportunity to come out of it. We had not contemplated a decision last year. We didn't have our goaltender. We didn't have Corey Crawford married hosts it was out for the season. I thought and our group thought it was unfair at the time. But where we are right now. We got off to a fairly good Cirque. Start slumped recently. We gotta get this going in the right direction. We want to make sure that we're able to. Salvage the season. Do everything we can to get this, right? I've said this before people always want to talk about what is the right time. John what what what is the right time is June seven th the right time is December ten th the right time there is no right time. This is all based on feel inexperience in a lot of dialogue and conversation with some really smart people as well. As our owner before we get to this point. And I think this is a very patient group. We are built on continuity. Joel was here is our coach for ten years. I've been here going on eleven rocky took over the team eleven years. Stan has been your ten years. Loyalty plays a big role in this. But it has to be loyalty tethered to results. Now, there are some. I'm sure that STAN Bowman megs that's just hockey stuff. And that it's a lower level thing and have believed that he has. The right to make those moves. But I don't believe any big move is done inside the United Center that involves the blacks without the approval of John McDonnell is that rocky looks at John with every decision says, what do you think? Right. I think that's kind of like the last the timing to kind of I get it. I mean, you give Q who's a legend an opportunity maybe to catch a heater turn things in the right direction and just take off. And that that that hot start continues. Fantastic. If not you kind of come into the season probably upstairs feeling that a change is very very possible. And when the hot starts took a dive. At least they can now. Step back and say, hey, we gave it a chance. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Look, I mean, maybe a coach doesn't win three championships. Does not gotten a chance to start to see. Right, right. He doesn't get that. Here's John McDonough on do you consider? Did you consider firing? Stan bowman. No, it did not consider both. I believe in this roster. Believe in stand. Stanton's meticulous. He's very thorough and. When you breakdown free agents when you breakdown traits some work, some don't you'd like most to go your way and overtime they make. But his body of work is excellent. I want him to succeed. I want a roster to succeed. This is the first head coach STAN Bowman is higher. And I'm excited about that. Stan has been very high on Jeremy for a long time. And I'm anxious to see how this is going to play out very John McDonough, he took the most charge. Maybe that's just as character and stands more low as a more commanding presence for sure in front of a camera at a press conference than Santa's. Then this was the icing on top of the the bad day over at the United Center on John McDonough talking about how it's time for a remodeling called it a remodeling, not a rebel. But he sums it up with this. We've had it's hard for me to even say this. We've had an incredible ten year run. But that's over that's behind us. We don't care about. We're worried right now about the twenty eighteen twenty nineteen season. So. Are fans have endemic straighted incredible loyalty, but we know they want to see results on the ice. That's what's going to keep them coming back. There you go. Look, I mean, I said to you earlier, I think Rockies really good guy. I think he makes business decisions and doesn't look back. You know, I think he he makes every decision with a purpose or he okays every decision in the purposes I mean, it has a business attachment, and that's part of professional sports in as far as baseball is concerned. And we're going to go to Jesse here. I this is come out after the recon press briefing there at the general manager's meetings Jesse covered that and Rick gets told White Sox beat writers that they have extended or they did extend a Renteria Ricky Renteria and that twenty one thousand nine is not the last year under contract, but he did not say for how long they extended him. So that's interesting. And then the story of the day coming out of the general manager's meetings last night was out enough. You saw this in the in the midst of the Monday night football. With the balls playing that double overtime game was feel officially PLO. Yeah. I saw officially put you on a hot. Yeah. Joe watches on him saying it's about twenty nine thousand nine they're not looking into any sort of extension. This is a nonstarter, and it is on everybody. Now in twenty nineteen to be better. And who knows we could be talking about Joe, Matt and being fired not even a year after Joel Quenneville gets fired. I don't have a problem with that. I really don't you got a contract. You know? Oh you. Yeah. Problem with them allowing Joe to work under the final year of his deal without an extension needs at buffer. There's too much pressure to win when you're supposed to win. Theo. Did it didn't he? Yes. He did the same thing. They do not get extensions until after they won the World Series. Listen, the the expectation levels have risen the bar is very high on the north side. I don't think that there's anything wrong with allowing Joe to work under the last year of his contract without an extension. Let's bring in Jesse Rogers right now. And if you wanna win on what the Blackhawks Jesse will have a good thought on this too. Because remember he was on the Blackhawks when Joel Quenneville took over when they won their first cop. Jesse is brought to you by GT prime located at seven hundred seven north wells for more information head to GT prime restaurant dot com is awesome. So is Jesse who will be talking Blackhawks and White Sox with us. You're going to handle three sports in this. Hey, you know that. Whatever you need guys. Let's go fire way to tell us about what what do you want to say about Joel Quenneville? Well, I listen to the press conference today. And then I heard you guys talking afterwards wondering about who's running the show there. I mean and wondering who who did the firing and hiring. I think it's both guys are the answer. I mean, John McDonough is running the show, but she is not a hockey guy as as he said many times. I don't think there's any doubt that standard the firing. And then the hiring here. I don't think there's any doubt. I mean, first of all stands had somewhat of a rift, which which ole forever, we we we all know that behind the scenes there was something Br bro. Even when I was covering it. So maybe STAN was looking for that moment. And he convinced John maybe John said, hey, what what what changes? Should we make is should see coaching be one of them and stand immediately said, yes. But I don't think there's any doubt. This is a stand slash maybe Scottie, you know, sort of performance in terms of the firing and hiring. Putting up a front organisation. You'll just like kind of feel does it's the organization's responsibility. So John may have ran that press conference. But I don't think there's any doubt that STAN. And with other people in the hockey operations department decided on the fate of Joel Quenneville what I said earlier is is great ten year run. It's too bad. It has to end this way. But it happens often with hall of fame coaches, you know, championship coaches, it just doesn't end. Well, maybe they should have relieved after last season. Not making the playoffs seemed like an easy way to make the change. If you wanted to the lasted this long with sort of the rift that they had and earlier with cap Perry. Smith is a name that goes back to two thousand ten eleven when STAN Scotty put him put him on the ice with Joel and told them, you're you need some help the power play struggling we're going to give you this guy berry Smith who who coached with with Scotty Bowman. And now berry Smith is is is an assistant coach and to me is kind of like the is the front office. Now, I'm not sure players are. Are gonna love that. But that's what he is. There's no doubt my mind. So we'll see how things work out. But I I mean, it's a great ten year run. What more can you say a great coach? And he he's going to be remembered that way with that in mind..

"Yourself in. The Blackhawks sure did that today by firing a coaching legend one of the bigger coaching legends in this town, not just about the Blackhawks just in this town, period. Joel Quenneville was fired today. We'll play you some of the highlights of the press conference is kind of weird vibe you guys were just talking about it during the break. I think I was reading mega Malecki tweet from the press conference. I think it was was Megan's tweet. And she said it felt like there should have been two separate press conferences, one to announce the firing of Joel Quenneville and everyone baying Amish to the great job that he did. And then another one to announce Colloton as the new coach because it was almost like he was forced to sit through this. Yeah. This quinn. Ville funeral. So I can see how there was an odd. Five to the press conference today, Joel Quenneville will. Mean so much to this city forever. And I believe there will be a day and soon that knowing the Blackhawks look they fire. Denis savard. Denis Savard a year later was an ambassador for the team. You know, there's going to be a day where there will be a banner raised at the United Center for Joel Quenneville. The bulls have done it for Jerry Krause and Phil Jackson front office. People and coaches get their, you know, quote numbers retired all the time, and I would expect in in a year. Maybe maybe if he coaches again a little bit longer Carmen brought up. Look don't be surprised if he's coaching the blues again, like if they fired their coach Joel Quenneville gets hired there. But there will be a day where Joel Quenneville banner will be up at the United Center. Thanks. So this is Daniel Carson. Hello. He tweeted less than an hour ago, the berry Smith, so they hire Colloton he's he's the kid thirty three years played in the NHL and has been coaching overseas than he was with rock for the last couple of years, and they added one of Scotty Bowman 's top assistance in older assistant who's been around the block lot. His name is Perry Smith Daniel Carson wrote berry Smith and the coaching staff is nothing more than a conduit back to the front office hard for Jeremy Carlton in coaching staff to establish trust within the core. Guys, do his past experience with Bs and that would be. Bowman ruins happy with Scotty Bowman berry Smith with various met right in my humble opinion. So and then he said something to that. He likes. He likes and that he played with him before. And he thinks he's a good coach in the right? A guy who's got tossed. I mean, you don't want to hear what are they always say, regardless of sport. You don't want to be the person that replaces a legend you want to be the person that replaces the guy that plays the legend. And like you said like you heard John McDonough said, they're not they're not gonna rebuild. They're going to remodel. Yes. And a lot of people follow this team very closely. Those people aren't so sure that this is a playoff caliber team. So if the expectation level here is is that yes, they are. You heard John McDonough say that they feel they're a playoff caliber team. I mean, it's tough spot for the young Thirty-three-year-old coach, isn't it? Oh, yeah. Very much. So so he tweeted out the question. Do you believe the Blackhawks coaching change will ultimately help the organization wasn't popular when they fired. Denis savard. Hiring coach Quin Ville, definitely benefited the organization. These are successful guys rocky Wirtz took over one of the worst franchises in sports history. And completely turned it around. Yeah. I know the John McDonough. Has done a lot of good things on the north side with the cops. And with the Blackhawks he may not be the most popular right now. Because of what happened with coach q the Bowman family, very successful. You could argue about stand versus is dad. But do you believe alternately be successful three three two three seven seven six so far over two thousand votes. Only sixteen percent of you voted. Yes, that it will ultimately help the organization. Yeah. First of all there are people that love what coach q did for this team. And there are a lot of people that are skeptical that they're playoff-caliber team. I think there are probably a ton of people that look at that team and say problem wasn't the coach. He didn't put the roster together. The problems roster. You know, more. So than the coach who is Carmen others appointed out there is some intricacies. And some even addio said that he would be times wondering why certain guys wouldn't be wouldn't wanna play the younger players. You're to have a certain style. Maybe he didn't evolve with the game is much. There's always something. It's not just for no reason, right? He had an extended run which was very successful. But over the last couple of seasons. It started with the very impotent playoff loss to the national Nashville predators when they were the the the first seed they lost to an eighth seed in. They were swept. I mean that started this whole that was really the kind of the beginning of the end they let last year plan. They don't even make the playoffs last season. I mean, it felt like the writing was on the wall to begin with. I think the question is right. Why if they wanted to make the move I didn't they fire him to begin the season? There's some guys it can be read asked. You know what I mean? And it probably chaps from saddle regions that, you know, do you get bounced in the first round you get bounced in the first round, then you need to make the postseason. So regardless of what had been accomplished prior to you know. Yeah. They didn't fight meant Nashville series either. They were like brutal. And I think impotent was the right word they could not score. And then you go and you follow that up without making the postseason. So I don't know. Mcdonagh said look the ten the ten year run is over. Now, they're not rebuilding their remodeling as Waddell just said. But if you wanna win if you're a hawks fan. This is my oh my gosh. To coach. You lot more my with my my own mind. Moustache moustache from all Denver Blackhawks pullover, which is in oh March to coach q and his fantastic run three cups. I'm no mosh to the entire team. And I don't have any other Blackhawk here. This is a question. Earlier we think are we all on the same page. Did you guys agree with me that of the four people on the mount Rushmore of Chicago coaches, it's Halis? It's Hugh, and it's Phil Jackson. We're we're open to the third where we think you could have a good argument. Between Ditka Madden Ozzy crotch. And are we forgetting somebody three one two three three two three seven seven six. But are you pissed it as a Blackhawks fan? Are you paying eighty six percent of the people don't think this is going to go? Well, are there are a lot of people are hawks fans who think that look it was time for a change. Also, our friend of a show, a friend of the show. Brady Quinn on a podcast today. Pick six. Telling everyone that he is not a believer in the bears. He says who do you feel like they've really beat the beat the Seattle Seahawks team that at a point of the season were was not very good. They were without Doug Baldwin to Pro Bowl linebackers at that point. They beat the jets. They beat the bills. They beat the cardinals. They beat the box. Those are the winds besides the Seahawks. Let's be honest who had they beat. So when I look at this team as much as you want to say, oh, they're at the top of the division. Then and beat anyone the schedule sets up to where they play Detroit and Minnesota than Detroit. Then after that they played the giants this team could wing through the next four because of their opponents, and I think it's all a product of their schedule. They're not that good bears fans might be upset about me saying that it's just how we see this team right now. And if they do make it to the playoffs to me, they'd be one in done. I haven't seen enough growth from Mitchell Trubisky. I don't think you can look at their running game is overall consistent the kind of live and die by Mitchell Trubisky. And he's too inconsistent for me friend. We. We reached out to him. And what did he say? I mean, I don't think he was being me like the textile come off. Craig personnel. Very good sense of humor. So I said hi hibernates Adam with the guys want to defend the bears. Basically we want to we read your coats in the guys want to defend the bears. Yes. Yes. And he said simply text me in four weeks. That's funny by opinion, and both Trubisky and the short term future of the bears is I don't know what's going to happen. You know, I'm not gonna say that they're not for real. But I'm also not going to pronounce them a playoff contender. Or that Trubisky is going to arrive. I don't do know. Does anyone I said to you yesterday? And I watched the all twenty two this morning and. I see a lot of the same stuff. I don't look this isn't a cop. I just don't know. Exactly who they are yet. I do know that the coaches is really creative. And does a really good job managing his young inexperienced quarterback. I saw three throws in the first quarter that Mitch made that he hadn't made consistently this year deep overs. Now when I say deep overthrows in this kind of a play on words that don't mean those those routes that he does deep-frozen he's overthrowing it's a deep over route. Whether it's Anthony Miller running it's Taylor Gabriel. It's tight end wherever it head on this week three of them in the first half. And then he'll sail one that got intercepted. And then he'll throw a ball at the goal line. That could have been intercepted. Then he completely misses. Josh Bellamy on a kind of a broken play Bellamy's running all alone in the end zone. So what you see is uneven play. I see a kid that doesn't look overwhelmed. I just see a kid who's in accurate who's inconsistent. Yeah. So I think that's a fair question. I don't and for the love of everything couldn't pure the jets the bills suck. So I don't know who they are right now. What I do know is right. I know they're five and three and it's better than three and five it's better than four and four it's better than than they are with their record says they are. But I really don't. That's why I've said for two days now, I can't wait to watch. Figure out more who they are against more competent competition is in college. They're not voting who gets in the bears control their own destiny. Joe's in lake forest. Joe you're on ESPN one thousand one Tom. Good afternoon. Thanks for taking my oh, sure. I just wanted to comment first on the Glenville firing. I I have no confidence in Scotty. Not Scotty, stay. I watched two years ago in the playoffs when they got Trump's by. Astro predators? I watch pig case Oban just have his way with Jonathan case. And STAN reviews just to get big strong defenseman back in project the stars. And. The predators. And other teams like them, the big strong physical genes from dominating and controlling around their own that, and I don't see it changing..

"Doesn't mean it's going to happen this off season, you know, because at some point these teams will spend, and I include the White Sox and Jerry Reinsdorf not getting any younger, right? Yeah. And yeah, I think you'd like to see he'd like to see them be competitive, and maybe win another one of these before it's all said and done you're right about that your thoughts on Quenneville. Yeah. I mean, I'm sure you're going to set. And you've said as well. I mean, what a great guy. I mean, I don't know if if if the run was over now, we know there was friction there's been friction forever. Now. This was this was a I I think it's sad that he didn't happen after a season on his own terms. Or even if he got fired midseason, just it leaves a bad taste, like if you're gonna if you're doing it. Now, why don't you just do it in in June or whatever, right or July? It's just that that kind of re, but there's no doubt very Smith has been sort of there there there. There is a guy, you know, he's Scotty and Barry stands here and now berries on the bench. Remember, they thrust berry Smith onto joke. Lynnville eight years ago. Work the power play. So there was friction there. And and and obviously stand found an opening that doesn't mean it's wrong. Ten years a long time kicked out of the playoffs. You know, embarrassingly two years ago don't make the playoffs. Sometimes changes almost want these guys to be able to leave on their own terms. Never happens ticket get in Joe's probably not going to do. You're right. We've been making the comparison to what's happening on the north side. And it's like with the more success you have in the strange paradox. That is sports like the the more often this stuff happens the power struggle happens. Sometimes the voice does get lost especially when you have a veteran team. Sometimes they need a different voice. Like, they're all these weird things that come into play. And it makes these situations. Not too uncommon in the same kind of stuff is happening. The team you cover now. And what's interesting to me, though, going back to Joe is in this social media age. And granted, I'm you know, I get mad and supporters in haters on whatever Joe Joe is universally love in Chicago and outside Chicago. So he leaves on top you don't ever harassing or whatever. Yeah. Maybe they under. But he's pretty cups for God's sakes. That that's amazing to me. They believe in some ways on top is in in this day and age like, you know, what I mean like, he's a pro's pro great coach great guy. And that's how he's going to remember dot first game seven to the long periods. No. Oh, we'll have that label on them forever. The the meltdowns at the end. That's what I love about go. He does leave on top. And a lot of ways even though it leaves a bad taste, you know, hall of Famer midseason, but the first and he won't be the last right? That happens. That's the way it works. You're right. I just go work. We'll talk to you later in the week. Thank you. Yeah. We'll we'll probably have to address Asan Russell. We got time on that. We'll do that tomorrow. We'll do that tomorrow. Thanks bye. The THEO did talk about Addison, we can get an I I don't know what the long term plan is. We'll see we'll talk to Jesse about that a little bit more tomorrow. Three one two three three two three seven seven six is also sitting and talk to console. It's definitely check in with Jesse Montana errands in Columbia, South Carolina on ESPN with thousand herring. Hey, how you doing great? How are you pretty good? So what I was calling to talk about is. I'm eighteen I'm a freshman here at university of South Carolina in abruptly huge hawks fan fan in general, and, you know, growing up the hawks have always been like, my constant, you know, they're always been contenders in my lifetime. And I don't know I was thinking earlier my denial that we need to rebuild or I mean, I've always been an optimist. And I don't know if I think that I'm in denial or you're listening. I wouldn't say you're in denial. I mean, I think you're shares your sentiment. He's been talking about it for a while. I'm with you. I I haven't been able to get to that point. But I'm not saying you're wrong. I understand. Yeah. I mean, maybe maybe you guys are right? I just like. You long way removed tapes is going to be thirty one in April. You know that right? Cain just turned thirty right? And tapes turns thirty one and then. Yeah. To both played twelve season a season right now. Buying a blink. Happen twelve season. Remember, you believe that you're going to trade guy going to train me you're too soon than a year too late. Right. Yeah. You're too soon in too late. Remember that we've got some Patrick Kane sound on a plane a second hold on Paul's lake forest on ESPN one thousand eight Paul. Hey, guys. Great talking today. Thank you just a couple of opinions. First of all, I didn't call for this reason. But yo man is done. I mean, they're hiring managers now for eight hundred grand a million a year that all their jobs are to do is listen to a very good point sabermetrics. The two guys that coach that managed in the World Series means they didn't even make two million combined. That's what I mean man's done. What they want? Now is a guy who will listen to the GM, and what his sabermetrics element of the us for that game and sabermetrics is a flawed algorithm. But that's a whole nother discussion the White Sox. And I love the time. You are you drink the sex Kuwait actually played ball in college for Eddie, stinky kidding? But they are so much farther away than just meeting. Manny machado. They don't even know how to win yet. Ricky Renteria has thought some idle lose every way possible? Bad base running terrible selection. Played wedding. First-pitch fastballs go right down the pipe and then swinging at a curve in the dirt on the second page. I bet that happens five hundred this year. Watching the sack. They don't even know how to win yet. They are so far away. When I say, I'm gonna tell you that. I don't think they have major leaguers what I say is a major leaguer is somebody who will help you win a championship. They don't even have five of them on their team. And one of them is not Moncada and one of them is not Anderson. Those guys are fringe backup players at best. I think to catchers to catchers or pros they got a couple of pitchers or pros. But other than that Anderson's not a clutch guy. You can get him out with a pitch in the dirt at anytime. I agree with Paul we and we got we're up against the break. I appreciate the phone call. I think if you get a player like Machado, though. And if a is as good as everybody expects that, you know, then you're not a million miles away in like renter is not the long-term answer. He's just not his he allowed them to develop some bad habits. That's an interesting point. Like, I always thought he did some good things with the young guys on the north side. Look he helped Saarland Castro the year. He was there. I at least it seemed like it. Maybe I'm maybe that. Maybe there's no direct correlation. But if they bring in a guy and say your job is do develop our young players like startling Castro. Got better for a year with Ricky rhetoric. We haven't seen that as much on the south side, that's very fair. And they talk about it being a great players manager. I don't like the way managers. I don't like the nonsense with the bunting. And especially in the American League. I don't like all that. I think it's silliness you're on record saying that you don't like the I don't think he's the long-term answer. But if what you have in the minors if some of those guys are real, and they can come up and they hit and then you add a Harper, Adam Machado. I think you're no longer a million miles away. Let's real quick listen to Patrick Kane. This owner on Joel Quenneville any particular way to set this up now Carmen, they asked him his thoughts, and he talks about forty five seconds. Okay. Here's Patrick Kane. Breeds winning..

"On ESPN one dollars. Hopefully, it brings a new energy. I don't know. We'll see Joel Quenneville has been relieved of his coaching duties. Probably won't be out of work long. Maybe he takes the year. Maybe somebody fires a coach just to hire him. Now. Who knows we were just running down the list for you? Yeah. I know more about hockey than we we keep talking about Saint Louis because he started there and Mike ios on the hot seat somebody who's in the know for shirt texted me, though, you're can said he's not going to go to Saint Louis their windows close to where I'm Quenneville man and Edmonton opens up. Yeah. That's where I'm going out coach the best player on the planet, and they're trying to figure things out there. They don't know. What's gone wrong? Two years ago. They made the playoffs. Yeah. The plants last year. Fringe team right now. I think too. I don't know what they're deal is for them. That'd be a breath of fresh air. Yeah. And let's face it. When you listen to anybody talk to you for ten eleven twelve years, some point you're like, oh there he goes against him the same crap we hear all the time tribes you a little bit. You know, the players drives, it drives a coach nuts. I'm tired of saying the same thing over and over and over twelve years, right? What happens is you get that group of guys that you're initially started with you instill your way with them. Right. Well, you got to remember get new players every single year. So you've got to go back and reinstall re-instill that with those individuals that are coming in. And sometimes you're hoping that your players do that for you that way, you don't have to sit and go over the very basics beginning in the get go, and maybe over the course of time that erodes the very way that you wanted to playing hockey she's the theory, by the way. Yeah. Well, you you, you know, what the dynamic is like in a prologue room. I mean. Bill Walsh talked about thirty years ago. The ten year rule that they did voice does need to change. The voice does get all respond differently. You know, our Emily Kaplan tweeted, I just want to read this with tapes had to say quote, definite shock. I didn't think there was going to be a change for a while. A close quality expected a change. Emily went on to say has nothing but praise for q the captain says quote at the end of the day, everyone has to commit to the new look in the new energy in the room. Indian Danny Savard back. You got to commit to the got to commit to the end. Yeah. That's why we're back to commit into the Indian. And I think Adam versus going to let me know when I ready. Come on. I wanna talk savvy today, Danny? Be interesting to talk to savvy. Yeah. He knows what he's been there. It's been clipped at the back of the knees after four games. This was a little bit more. But not. Fifteen team games gave savvy four games before they clipped him in the back of the you know, they got off to such a promising start. That's exactly what Quinn vol needed. But this last week is not very good. They got who's who's the guy that cheap shattered Hosa Torres Raffi Torres Torres guys. Guys, got Raffi Torres. Terry's at Saint shock on ESPN thousand eight tearing. Hey, what's going on? As we're thinking about talking about it. Making such a good moves anymore. Remember, what stands I got that job? It was scouting still arthritis at all the modes, and he was the one that was orchestrating all the moves. Now. Of course, he don't take over. And Scotty is still a senior adviser. I think with the hawks years. I mean, these are stands move. So that Scotty boneless boats and shells. Then maybe you should go back and consult with the old man a little bit more. How much input the Scotty still had enough the ice from the press box for calling Terry cap said he's heard from some sources that Scotty is gonna be very much involved in coaching. Now, even though he's going to be in Florida or up in the press box. I mean, berry Smith is back. Remember, this all kind of started when they thrust berry Smith upon Joel Quenneville and twenty you never liked that. There's only one guy I know from the Blackhawks hockey from back in the day that would agree with the move. That was. Can we talk to Pulford Pulford right now? What's your pom furry old man on what happened today with Joel clutter, y'all move fire Q win too much? I told the old man don't win Stanley corporate cost too much money too much money. Polly they've been following what your advice is bid, and they have at one in three years and yet they fired him. Anyway. What's going on ABBIE? Fire. Rocky word somebody please Iragi is the problem. I come back and coach now I will be on bench while we appreciate all your thoughts. Bob. Thank you, Paul. Paulie was here running things over and over and over again, how many chances to one guy the worst advice ever coming out of out of a room could have been Bob Pulford candidate audit. It's not that bad now. But it's great that paulie come back and give his thoughts on what. Yeah. I think. So. Too stubborn to die. Sometimes. Too stubborn to die. We're going to talk to I don't know if we're going to get a chance to talk to. Bursch was like doing a charity thing. So he was gonna try to squeeze anytime Nandita, but he was at a veterans hospital. He's he's leaving there. Now, he's gonna text when he gets a little tighter. Maybe during the one o'clock hour, we'll try to sneak in Burr if not maybe we'll catch up with him in the next couple of days. I know sharpies finding New York is going to be doing national stuff tonight. How about John is first night on national TV sharp looking suit on the other day sharpies Sharaf print. He was wearing it was a little bit different. I don't know. But he's sewing good looking. I mean, you know, we can admit that he's a handsome guy. He's going to be all right on TV. So he's going to do national stuff tonight. He'll try to join us later in the week. He told Danny to but he was getting on a plane flying to New York this morning this afternoon. So maybe we'll catch up with boorish during the one o'clock hour, Pat boy will join us at one thirty after he gets outta the locker room at three o'clock. The hawks have called a press conference to talk about. Live. We'll carry alive Waddle and Silvy will bring you that live a couple of hours from now. So we'll talk to Jesse coming up next. He's out in California at the GM meetings. The hot stove already kicking baby already churning. My White Sox could be in on Machado could be on an Harper one the other maybe both who knows I think the White Sox are going to try to be active member was the signing of John Lester. That really jump started things in progress. Pell propelled the cubs rebuild forward in two thousand fifteen crash bandicoot when used to play the game crash bandicoot you ever remember that on the track and you your little bugging hit the salary. That's what accelerated the cubs winning could this season be similar for the White Sox. If they'll go out and get a Machado or Harper. And you know, how how active are they going to be a how hard are they going to pursue both? I it sounds like they want Manny Machado, and you you could dog him all you want or he's a dog. He's this look at the way played in the plus sign me up for Manny Machado. If I'm wrong on that one you'll be hassle. But I don't know why I don't think I'd be happy to be wrong. But Manny Machado is one of the games. Great players signed me up for that Bryce Harper to if I had to pick between the two I think I'd take our. Oh, I think both for sure and you could take both car. All right. Three one two three three two three seven seven six. That's the.

"And that's one thing that I believe in cap is that when you have guys come up you can just put him in your spot. It doesn't matter who they play or where they play it's going to be very very similar. But I'm sure for Jeremy he will he will tweak things, and you know, and berry Smith has been around the block. And then he was Scotty. Scotty Bowman is right hand man for twenty five years in the National Hockey League. So certainly there is a strong fingerprinting handprint there. But, you know, look, I mean this team knows how to play, and I'm sure they'll be some tweaks, and you know, it's an opportunity and a half for for Jeremy to come up here and in coaching esteem franchise a team that has high expectations. And and you know, look any knows a lot of these guys to tap. I mean in fairness to Jeremy, you know, being in Rockford last year, and you know, my son Tommy was there for a Cup of coffee when he got called up from east coast Hockey League. So, you know, talking to Tommy this morning just a little bit about Jeremy. 'cause I gotta get ready for the game on Thursday. But you know is a player. As a core guy. I mean, you know, what you gotta do it. I'm sure that these guys these core guys are going to be you know, are gonna be. I mean, any time a coach gets fired in in in the players really liked the coach, you know, you feel a huge responsibility. Cats like, you feel a huge there's a let down you feel sick to your stomach when when you know guy that obviously you've had an incredible amount of success for with and somebody loses her job, you take you take responsibility. And I'm sure that will be the message coming from the core of this team and moving forward, but hey, look there professionals. It's a business. It's a rough business. It's an incredible business. When you when you get to the top of the mountain, and this franchise has done that on three different occasions over the course of the last, you know, ten eleven years, whatever it is. So. No, it's you gotta go and you gotta play. And it doesn't matter what the system is. Is you know, you need better performances from a lot of guys. And if they can do that, they give themselves a chance it's not then it's going to be a lot. You know, a lot more of the same. So the pressure has been, you know, the pressure was already there cap is we talked in the summertime, I think when we had stand on we talked to Stanton when I was in studio with you back in July or August or whenever it was. But you know, now when you when you remove a coach, and it remove a coach with the resume of Joel Quenneville, like it's you know, it's to a burning point now like the heat is really on and a lot of different areas. And we'll see if they can get out of this five game losing streak. Appreciate the time. The knowledge we'll see you in here on in studio on Friday looking forward to having you back in here. And again, thanks for the time. Okay. Okay. Thank france. Anyway. Thanks bye. See you Friday. Thanks to you. There you go..

"Welcome back to the press tap. Homini air force hockey coaches show with Frank Sarah, Tori, on our flagship station in the speaks Pike's peak region. That is Xtra sports thirteen hundred. Ryan Kaufman at the controls here at the brass tap, the head coach Frank, Sarah, Tori. I'm Jay Ritchie. Good crowd on Hansi. Lot of familiar faces out there. They're associated graduates. Great crowd. A great. Good chronic great crowd. All of them a great crowd that you're Societa graduates, proud sponsor of air force hockey. The AL g serving the long blue like Franken wanna go back to buffalo for just saying. Hey, I gotta find out. How many Red Sox fans? We how many Red Sox one two three four five five Red Sox fans. How many dodger fans one? That's it one dodger fan. And how many how many people don't care? Okay. We we we got a hockey crowd here. Yeah. Hockey crowd here. They don't care carry the day. Six total baseball votes. Hey, good story. We got to buffalo mill air last week. And the reason we got there is an ex hockey player. What do you call more than one buffalo? Buffalo's buffalo I. I just came to me. Okay. What was the question? I said we we get to buffalo last week. Thanks to an ex hockey player. Yes. We had Ryan Smith. The former falcon great Ryan Smith, flew assault. And you were actually on the flight. What what we what were we flying? Thirty five K C one thirty five and that's a refueler. Yeah. Right. We flew out on this refueler and Ryan Smith one of our former players grad, grad rights, met, the interesting. His father is berry Smith. And if you remember berry Smith was Scotty Bowman's Scotty Bowman right hand man with all those Stanley Cup championships in Pittsburgh and one of the best hockey men US born hockey men, ever actually, just got inducted into the New York. Upstate New York sports hall of fame and. He's been real good to our program. And of course, Ryan his son playing force and Ryan came and KMart flew, flew our guys to to buffalo. Daddy. Brought he's got four little kids right now. All perfectly like, he's got two boys and two girls one boom, boom, boom, boom. They all came in. He had always made. He's a really organized guy. He had him. All right in the right order. So they were all standing just like that. And came in to see me before the game and Friday night, and we won and no smitty on Saturday. So good luck with smitty on Friday. I got to give it to him a little bit not bringing those those beautiful little kids back to the game. Did we also ruin the soups streak because he was there. He was at RIT last week when we won. He was there Friday night when we want was either Saturday, the soup the soup, the superintendent was yeah, he's the soup pot. He was undefeated the soup was three and all and you dropped one on Saturday night. But he had a good effort. We went we went down. But we went down swinging downswing. Yeah. Also, let's see harbor center, the Atlantic hockey frozen. Four is gonna move there this year in March the final four teams will be there. What do you think of the building? Okay. All right. All right. So we got to paint the picture here for everybody. There. The Canisius plays in now, it's called the harbour center. And the harbour center is part of a complex that. Mr. pope, Gula Gula that started the Penn State programme that owns the Buffalo Bills like out abors and the sabres like I mean what he's done in downtown buffalo. He should have a statue. We actually she built himself when he got a lot of money, and and but it's wonderful. So the harbour center is there's two ranks in the harbourside. There's a big parking garage. And there's a Marriott and you're going in your park, and you get the elevator. And you got to go up to the fifth floor to get to get to the Marriott. Yeah. And and then you go up to this to the sixth floor to get to the ranks in the ranks are so they're all elevated, and they got to ranks, and it's basically their practice ranks for the for the sabres because they play right across the street at key Bank arena. But the one rank is really nice. It's very similar to ours. Probably maybe just a little a little less seating. But it's a really good little college rank and the other one's just a practice facility with with it doesn't. Have any seats or anything in it? And so it's kinda cool you go into one. There's Tim Hortons in the bottom. They've got a they've got a sports Paul card seven one six, and and they've really fix that area. So so we've got a plane this building called the harbour center. And in a you know, we stayed in the Marriott last year this year they want too much money. So I stayed somewhere else. But it's really nice complex and. I think that's why tournament is going to be. And hopefully, the prices come down the league goes in and wrestles the prices down a little bit in that in the harbour center marriage because to build a beautiful building got the two ranks, and it's kind of one stop shopping, and it's right by the water. They've done a really good job. You know, buffalo is a rust belt town, and if you haven't been to buffalo, you're gonna you people out there is gone. He's talking about buffalo. You know? They're rolling their eyes. I mean, like, it's they've really done a lot. It's really really nice downtown. They got a beautiful little minor league ballpark. They got AAA baseball there. So you know, they've got a couple of breweries. They've got a couple of breweries down there in restaurants, and and so Donald hall. Buffalo has come a long ways. And and you can you you could give you gotta give the pa- Gula family credit for for what they've what they've done there in the city. So it's really cool. I'm glad that I'm not so glad we're moving because we had pretty good luck and Rochester, I kinda Fonda Rochester myself. Yeah. But the rest of the league wanted to change and they wanted to change up our lock, maybe if if nothing else, and we're going to buffalo one of the interesting things as it's not. It's not a campus facility. You don't. But it's his home rank, you know, so we're going to be playing the final the final four in. Kinesiology. They get they're going to be playing in their in their home rank even though it's not a campus rank it would be the same as Colorado college playing in the world arena. It's not a campus ranked? But it's there, but it's there it's where they play their attendant and can here so there, but the league decided we wanted to do that wanted to get to a different spot. And it'll be good seats about two thousand. They can probably get a little more in there. So absolutely absolutely could. Yeah. So the crowd will be better. I like it in the locker rooms facility in like, it's a really really nice facility. And and we enjoy we enjoy playing there. And then the the frozen for the the big frozen for who's gonna be right across the street and keep Bank arena home of the sabers about a month or so later, so. Yeah. Yeah. With that's going to be for college hockey, that's going to be Buffalo's coming out party because I like I was up. I worked on the NCW committee in two thousand and two. I think it was when Minnesota Minnesota beat Nov New Hampshire in the national championship. Vanik was playing for Minnesota. And. In downtown. Buffalo was like I was not a happy camper that it was not a it's not a glamorous place to be. And it's still but still buffalo. I can't you can't use the word glamorous. But it's nice, and it's fun, and there's good restaurants and breweries, and there's a really good vibe down there. Yeah. Definitely. All right. We'll take another break. And when we come back. We'll we'll do the ask the coach second reminder skate with the falcons coming up Sunday from noon to one fifteen at cadet ice arena. So skate with the falcon Sunday noon to one fifteen at could ice arena. And it's open to the public. Let's take a break. Come back to the breast.
