"Man is great to have you on. Let's let me start with your former team, the browns and Baker Mayfield. Now you know they're two and one first time in six years they've had a winning record. That seems to have silenced the some of the chatter about. Baker. But there's been talk like you know if he's that good one week that they might move on from him you know this is a put up or shut up year for him. Is this premature in your opinion or should this be a put up or shut up here for? Baker and if he can't get it done and you know get the ball to ob Jay and Jarvis, then you may have to move on. I there's no question he needs to play better first and foremost I mean he's the first pick of the draft for a reason they spend a lot of money on the team offensively, they have tremendous weapons and so he needs to go lead back crew and get them the plane oil and playing allow cylinders. I think what we've seen over the last couple of weeks because they've. Really been able to run the football. You know it hasn't been just about Baker. He's played really consistent. You know and getting the ball to to you know guys I'm sure receivers the ball a lot more, but at the same time is produced win. So hopefully, he can understand maybe a little less a bigger a little bit more of those two runners they have will produce wins for. A few let's talk about the Green Bay packers off to a three and start. We've seen Aaron Rodgers nine touchdowns no picks. The team has not committed a turnover and the average in forty points and have gone on the road and beaten a couple of good teams. What do you make of the packers and Aaron Rodgers season thus far?.

"To the second round of the playoffs, taking on the Saints in the first round before they did meet their demise in the 40 Niners this year. Kirk cousins he has six picks. Three games this year. 15 games last year didn't play one game last year. I think that was a week 16 for the Minnesota Vikings. So Vikings Yikes, Ugly Tennessee three. No. How about Tennessee being three and not an impressive three, though, and you do have Tennessee next week going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers? A battle of 23 No teens next up. Slow start for the Browns. They got the Dub Brown's 30 for Washington 20 same old story for Washington. Good front seven play. That offensive play bad quarterback play. Not much cooking with that offense. Carl Smith, b J. Goodson and Malcolm Smith. All that interception interception to this one, picking off Dwayne Haskins. Hudson also had a fumble recovery, and so did Myles Garrett. Nick job continues to be the story. The run game continues to be the story for the Cleveland Browns run the football have Baker Mayfield manage the game and you'll get some W's especially up against bad teams. Like Washington. Also what you saw last week up against the Bangles shove had 108 yards into rushing touchdowns. Let's hear the second rushing touchdown, this one for 20 yards to make it 31 to 20. Shut the loan. Back in the backfield. They moved the tight end Bryant emotion from the left to the right. Mayfield under center gives the ball chips coming out to the left. He's getting led by Wyatt Teller, he said. 15 10 5 corner touchdown job again. Nice job, thereby Jim Donovan on the Browns radio network. Next up, we go to maybe one of the more exciting games from that we did witness in week three of the National Football League. The bills were just a pig and slaughtering the Rams at one point We've heard this one before the names see steam. The Buffalo Bills are up 28 23 in the third quarter. The Pats once they're up 28 23 in the third quarter up against Atlanta Falcons. Don't you worry. We have a big Falcons choke coming up soon, but the bills blew the lead. And at the end of the game and looked like they were going to lose and a terrible and I mean, terrible pass interference call bailed out Buffalo Now you remember week one. The Rams got away. You know, I had something working their favourite Jalen Ramsey. Was going up against Michael Gallop and.

"The National Football League, most of the head of physical tools to play but for whatever reason, they didn't have the mental or emotional stability. To get it done The third factor and that's a key one. That's the wild card. Is the team around them. There's a quarterback make the system or your system. Make the quarterback you know, you look at you Look at Ryan Tannehill. It looks like Miami maybe was the wrong system the wrong way. They went about it because he went to a different system and it was successful, so you have to consider a lot as well. And situation like you said. It is such a big part of it because, like I look at Baker Mayfield, they have a lot of talent, so therefore I look at Baker so I give him a big percentage of the blame of why it's not working where I look at For example, Sam Darnold. I'm not saying Sam should just be exonerated of blame, but he doesn't have much to work with in the Jets that they're just a terrible situation right now. And you wonder if if the Jets and the lack of weapons around him are going to basically put them in a position to maybe take Trevor Laurence in the draft this year than trade, Sam Darnold Well, That's a decision that Joe Douglas is going to have to make the general manager of the New York Jets because you're right. One of the toughest things to do is to evaluate the play of a quarterback separate from what's going on around here. Ah, and you're exactly right. Baker. Mayfield has the tools there. He should be good. They should be able to take advantage of that. Now The flip side of that is he's been through a number of coordinators number of head coaches that instability doesn't help Sam Darnold on the flip side. You're right that that Ross right now is just depleted of any talent whatsoever, and they could very well end up with the first overall pick. They've got to make the tough determination. That's what Joe Douglas will do over the next three months is decide. Okay, Sam Journal. Is it Adam Gates? Or is that the combination of the two or do we need to go a different direction? Brian Billick here with us for a few more minutes on the Zach Gelled show. When I looked at the bill schedule, I circle a game coming up on October 15th. It's up against the Chiefs. I don't think the bills play the Ravens this year. But how do you think the bills stack up against the rest of this emcee, assuming that the Chiefs of the Ravens of the two best teams in the conference I think very well because they have a really good, solid defense, and we saw that in in the playoffs. We saw the charming doorman is able to do with that defense and a death that defense and Josh Allen has truly at least over three games. I mean, you look at the pace this guy's on the big question Coming in, as we talked about was the completion percentage, which typically doesn't get better in the NFL is what it is. But he has shown this year that he has taken a dramatic step in terms of the completion percentage When you also add his physicality, his ability to run the ball on the last game saw going in that thing for the second score. They got inside the red zone. They ran three played three straight quarterback designed run, not just scrambling around, but quarterback designed runs one of even a pure option place. It tells you this guy there's something could be something special about this guy. And the way he's performing on the Pacey is right now you're looking at better and then a 600 throw season better than 65% completion percentage 50 some odd touchdowns, two single digit interception. Brian Billick. I want to get your thoughts on Carson. Once you see him get hurt before in his career last year, may have had one of his better seasons with not a lot, not a lot round him, and he really led that team to the playoffs and then, unfortunately, concussion in a playoff game this year, all around for Philadelphia. It's been ugly Are you started have doubts on Carson once you think will turn this thing around. Well there again. It's what's going on around it. You're talking about an offensive line that's been hurt from day one continue to get more and more depleted receiving corps That's in and out of the lineup. Ah, hey, just doesn't have any consistency out there. I don't think he has a lot to work with. So I don't know that I'm ready to say Carson Wentz is on the downward projection or not playing particularly well, because I don't think he has much going on around it. So I know it's easy for me to say, because it's not my job, but I give the Bears have passed for not taking the homes. The one that to me, though, is that is inexcusable because I didn't know what Mom's gonna be at the time, So it's not for me to be critical of it. But once again, it's not my job. But was this is Shawn Watson? That one never made any sense to me? The moment I'll never forget being in the draft in Philadelphia that night, and when they said they traded up to get your whiskey I never got why they didn't take Watson. What do you What did you think about decision? Now looking back at it and what they didn't see with at least Watson it on the surface. Well, they weren't alone in that so that you're right. It's not fair. T criticize it from and hindsight perspective again. It's what What do we look at? What's the criteria going in some team could be a practical homes. I had some people concerned to Shawn Watson. Some people well, he's he's a product of the system. Surrounded by phenomenal talent clearly is out match their opponents in the A. C. C. So from that standpoint, you could look at the two so well, you know, John Watson had all the advantages compared to Mitchell Biscuit in North Carolina wasn't surrounded by the same kind of talent, So I think that was some of the mentality of the thought process going in, obviously was flawed..

"Question. How did he do? Okay. So here's the thing about Joe Brown. This is why I think you like him so much. Oh, it's a really great quarterback that just plays hockey team. So he's like your deck Prescott your a bitch. I thought you were like the light bulb in my head went off last night when I was watching it. I was like, well, he's a good little quarterback like Dak Prescott. He just plays for no wonder Jasmine likes them so much. By the way, I have you know you Optimus Prime Don the word shity so it cut out on you said shity team. That's all right. I show you going to say that we were going to like look we could be an item now. I'm just disappointed. Oh, I'm sorry. Now he's to you guys wouldn't match very well. He's back to blonde hair doughy eyed, you know, he still has his dreams and happiness. I was just that his way too innocent for you. You know, you just strip him of all of it off. I would fare. I tend to do this with all men though. Let's be real I tend to slowly take away their hopes dreams, you know their desk for Life their happiness any kind of happiness life. It's it's what I do to all the men that are in my life. Okay, so so that's your analysis which fuck off so that's no that's my analysis regards to jobber. Okay, my analysis in regards to the Browns. All right. Here's the thing about the Browns obj less. Always he had headlines Amy. Okay. This team has a boss ass offense page. There is no reason why they shouldn't be scoring touchdowns all the fucking time. I mean think about the players that they have Nick Chubb Fremont who both went off last night Jarvis Landry. I mean you couldn't get you can get that is a fantasy leagues dream right here, right? Yep. There is no reason why this team shouldn't be amazing because you know what their defense is really cool. Good to this team should be really competitive and making the playoffs and they're not understand now Grandma, who knows what's going to happen tell you what happened last night watching this game Baker Mayfield just he changed into a different person. Like when he like a human in a good way in a good way when he came off the field. He didn't go and sit down on the bench. He stood on the sidelines and watched his defense playing and then he I mean he rallied those guys. He was not going down to Joe burrow. I mean, you could totally he's like, there's no fucking way. This guy's going to show me up and there's no way I'm losing to the fucking bangles and you know what he totally carried his team. He really truly did stepped up it was offensive. Now if they can do that every single weekend this team is really like it has all the weapons that it takes to be a fantastic team which made me. Made me Ponder the fact that there's some teams that you just expect to lose and then there's some teams that you expect to win like the team's you expect to when you expect the steel real attacks right now. You expect the Cal you expect to win. You don't expect the Lions or the Bangles or the Browns. I mean the low-hanging fruit, you know, you don't expect those teams to win. So when they have when they have rosters long, the Browns have their own turning into a team that you they should be winning with what they have. So it sounds to me that the Browns are basically like if you're looking at it from a fantasy league point, it's the guy in league who basically cheese his way to get the best team because everybody else is internet either sucked or they were on auto draft or they forgot there was a draft right? That's the guy in the if you're equating it to a fantasy team roster birth. Okay. Number one. I liked it. You know I prematurely said shut up about the Cowboys cuz I thought you were going to say that you expect them to lose and I like that you're saying that you expect them to win because that's what you do you absolutely suck. Oh you that's what we do problem. That's where we are a we are an elite Lord team. Anyway, that's what you're going with I am. Well, I don't know the baker Mayfield is still a shitstain to me so good for him rallying his team. He's still a shitstain. I do love his Progressive commercials their home like the latest one. Yes. They are the latest one where he's like. Oh, it's getting ready to rain. Help me cover the furniture. And two guys like you mean the stance he's really good in those commercials. If you could only be as good a quarter as he is in those commercials. We would be set the dog pound would be set. Well, we are you a dog pound or now. I mean, I you know, I have a soft spot for the Browns just cuz they always lose. And ever since that movie came out draft day with Kevin Costner yet. Oh, I'm out. I'm done with you. done with you Amy. Your brown spot is showing. I know I know you know, I just I'm weird that way I don't understand it. Either it is I don't either try to figure you out every day and I just you know, I do too and since I'm like, oh I get myself today and then sometimes I'm like now he's nope don't understand myself today, but that's okay. That's most of us as well. Amy. So rest assured you're not in Company by yourself. I think it is twenty-twenty it is. Okay. Well that's sad because now Joe burrow Hollow be his name Falls 200 and two. Yeah, it does and but you know what this guy he's he's a good quarterback. He is is there he should be in his helmet I think time to get mr. Guys. Sometimes he tries to carry his offense which isn't great because then he gets pummeled by pencil like he got pummeled last night several times. Well, you sure. Why does LSU brain sure what he's trying to win? And I totally get it. But at the same time he needs careful because you know, oh, he's a starting quarterback in the NFL. Well getting them know and you just see a lot of what he was doing at LSU that worked and I think you know like every rookie has this learning curve right where you come out transition from college to the big leagues and it's like, oh, okay, it's funny cuz I was like really different style of football right? I said to Bruce last night. I'm like, surprised that they just threw this guy in the deep end. I mean they just started. Oh totally, I mean, they didn't granted he dangles. What else do they have? I'm. That's the problem. They don't have anything else but you know like places in my where to get backing up Fitzpatrick that makes sense. It makes sense for him to kind of, you know way into the NFL same thing with Dwayne Haskins, you know, he he was back up for a while until he kind of learned his name. Yeah, now Joe girl, man. They just threw him in the deep and they're like here you go, bro, you go bu. Yeah. Well, you know what gotta he is trying I mean, he's playing his ass off out there. No he is but he is and that's why I'm like super team Joe burrow like we gotta do this man. Like I'm telling you. It's the stogie. We'll do it get this guy that mean that you're a Bengals fan know how fucking no. No, I like. Oh bji in a Browns fan. I like Joe burrow Ina Bengals fan, you know, I will always bleed silver and blue Amy. That's the only color I would leave home. Anyway, let's move on to the Chiefs. Okay, love us and Pat Mahomes you love some Andy Reid do that cheaper mofo back, right? So Andy Reid's big old windshield mask that he had on. When was it last week? I can't remember. Yeah. We're only in week to segregated windshield wipers. Yeah, so people were like what the hell and so like it was fogging up. You couldn't see shit, but this may be a thing. This may be a thing coming to a coach near you because off on the first Sunday of the NFL season when this happened several coaches were seen either one not wearing masks or to not wearing them properly because the mask police were out and the league is not going to stand for that. It's currently vice president of football operations. Troy Vincent issued a memo this week saying protocol requires all individuals with bench area access including coaches and members of the club medical staff to wear face coverings at all times failure to adhere this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and or clubs. However, Amy, there is no word on what those accountability measures will be so that to me that phrase is what kind of sticks out to me. What does that mean? do you do find them? Probably I mean you can look dead. Here's the thing. They're coaching on the sidelines of talking into Mike's they have to be able bird they have to be able understood. It's really hard for all of the to happen on your face plus all these guys are around each other all the time. They're all you know, I practiced together around the field. They're hitting each other all in each other's faces, you know, I mean and how many people have tested positive since the start of season one? Yeah. They did a very good 2700 players so very good job with with that right off because like you said, they've been implementing measures. They've been following the rules, you know, they've been testing a lot, you know, we got into this, you know leading into this actual season. Jeez, how many coronavirus updates that we talked about on this podcast about hey, this is what the League's doing. This is what they're making them do kind of thing. So something is clearly working. It's really great to see that that's positive news that you know that they're only seeing that wage. Chat, I think I that they should I really think they should go with a handy read mask to be quite honest can still see the coaches face. The microphone can kind of be up underneath it. So they may be able to understand what the coaches saying and and you're shielded. You know, when somebody comes up to your face, you know, I mean, think that that's fine but having to wear them like when it's just, you know covering your face in your nose again, like it's hard for me to understand people when they're wearing a mask and talking to me. Yes, I mean, so imagine imagine being on the field the quarterback coaches saying the guys in booth coordinators up in the booth are trying to understand what the guys on the field coordinators on the field are trying to say, I mean, it's just it's a it's crazy. So it's a shitshow you gotta be able to walk. You gotta be able to your job. I would take that looking like I've got the windshield of a Camry in front of my face the whole time vs Lee having something on my mouth cuz that's frustrating me. Yeah. Give me the telephone number. Windshield all day long over the you know, suffocating face masks which by the way speaking of Tesla. Did you see that their reports of some them being janky like getting like parts that were like really cheap shity on some of the Tesla's that were falling apart marvelous. I know so yet twenty-twenty doesn't happen. Just wanted to put that in there for you. All right coming up next in offsides, you know fall like we said is upon us. Although you wouldn't know here in Texas. It's still like an anus outside but here's something for your home that will make it fall feel less anus e okay Mom handles some new ones that are coming out and they're actually already out and we'll explain to you with those candles our next. All right, let's get into offsides and we've got some candles to tell you about so Amy, yeah, you know football's back. So if you want to get a little piece so that game day experience at home along with fall. This might work. Okay. I know you love candles. There's a company that's owned by Anheuser-Busch call Babe wine. They just created three football scented candles one smells like an artificial turf field. Okay one smells like a Nachos not bad and one

The Browns are trying a new approach heading into the 2020 season: Being quiet

"Let's start here in Cleveland atom I heard Baker Mayfield say last week last year was total and complete chaos. They had so much noise around the organization. Now it's like a church mouse. It's totally quiet. WHAT'S THE MANTRA? What's going on there with this approach? Well the circus that was in Cleveland left and has gone to Tampa Bay in the interim. Basically, you've got a new general manager Andrew Berry new head coach, and Kevin Stefanski and the noise that accompanied this team last year has quite a quite a bit I think people are more interested in seeing Ben Rothlisberger return in Pittsburgh. The return of the NFL's raining MVP Lamar Jackson in Baltimore even the number one overall pick Joe borrowing, Cincinnati that browns are. The least sexy story in the AFC north this season and so they're flying under the radar, which is a good thing for this team. They don't need anymore engine. Let them win before we anoint the Cleveland Browns and contender and I think that they're very encouraged by what they've seen so far from their team this summer

Mayfield "absolutely" will kneel during national anthem

"Ends up so the PGA tour is back the NBA we believe is heading back Major League Baseball will be shut down the players throats to get back right and then we have the NFL again having the longest runway to get this thing going but while we're waiting for training camp to start at the end of next month and waiting so for some players to sign contracts we're seeing how so many players specifically so many white players are are joining their brothers in arms in terms of their teammates and fighting for the causes that they believe in and two stars over the weekend had some very interesting responses some of their followers on Twitter both J. J. watt in Houston and Baker Mayfield in Cleveland both of them at one point said you know to a fan you know that the fans and to them that I know that Baker Mayfield will be one of those guys kneeling or J. J. watt will be kneeling during the national anthem and they both said yeah you better believe we are we're going to show support for people who understand and feel like they have been wronged in all of this and they want to bring attention to this and both J. J. watt and Baker Mayfield shut down those Twitter followers that no no no that's not what this is about and we respect what they're going to do yeah and so to be clear and all this in differentiating them Baker's basically said he's absolutely going to Neil yes JJ said you don't speak for me and if you think that kneeling is about disrespecting the flag yes you have been listening so J. J. watt didn't commit to kneeling which it is is something that could sound like a headline but still J. J. watt speaking out about this all would have been one of my more unlikely bets going into this just because J. J. watt is never been a guy that's really straight about half one way or another he's been a guy that's gone out there to play football certainly been very charitable we know others a lot of the things that have been a part of his past and some of the relief efforts he's helped with in Houston but straining out in this way and offering an opinion on this wasn't something I expected from the three time defensive player of the soul again actually what they said was for Baker Mayfield that someone you know posting about in answering a post from a fan on his Instagram about Saturday that pleaded for him not to kneel Mayfield responded pull your head out I absolutely am and in response to a person treating tweeting at JJ watt pretty sure JJ what would not be taking a knee during the national anthem J. Bengals at the Combine in Indianapolis, taking a closer look at Joe Burrow

"With us here from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis where we will be all week so much going on. I'm waiting next with Adam. Schefter Louis Riddick Todd mcshay and Mike Tannenbaum just to catch you up right now. Here's what's happening today in Indianapolis. It will be a very busy week. At Five o'clock eastern though owners are expected to meet players to talk about the new CBA which could expand the playoffs and move to a seventeen game regular season. We've got forty seven. Nfl head coaches and GMT. We'll be talking today. You're also hear from SEC. Standouts Joe Borough and to a ton of Aloha who also addressed the media earlier today. Jonesboro put on an absolute show as you know on route to a national championship for Lsu setting an FBI. Single season record with sixty touchdown passes and Ditto. While completing a whopping seventy six percents of his passes and not only that but bro won the heisman trophy in dominant fashion receiving a record ninety point seven percent of the first place votes here. Our previous comments from Joe Borough on February seventeenth during a reception. For the Davey. O'brien award. He had this to say I do have leveraged the Bengals have their process and I have my process. We haven't even gotten to the combine yet. There's a lot of things that happened. Leading up to the draft. A lot of information gathered bras. Mother Robin shot down the idea. Her son does not want to play for the bengals. Saying we have no idea where that came from. It's a story out there that has created that doesn't have any substance at least from our perspective here Hasbro earlier today here at the combine. Of course I want to be the first pick. That's that's every kid's dream you know I've worked really really hard for this opportunity and I'm blessed to be in this position. I'm a ball player. Whoever picks me on my go show up? How play whoever for forever dressing? You know. I'm just not going to be presumptuous. About what they WANNA DO I. It's the draft. You guys have been covered it for a long time and you never know what's going to happen so we played a month longer than everyone else and everyone else's been training a month longer than us you know. I wanted to put. I don't I didn't think I'd be able to put my best foot forward here at the combine so I wanted to wait till pro day had another whole month of training and just be the best that I could be when everyone when. Everyone's eyes are on me. You know coming in. If you're the number one pick the teen is picking number one. Is there for a reason? So you're going to have to come in. There's going to be ups and downs and you've got to stay steady through the process. Our research tells us about Joe. Borough is his own man. He's not going to be talked into saying things for other people's benefits so if that's what he said. That's that's fantastic. I'm looking forward to getting to know him getting to meet him through. The process haven't been able to sit down with them yet. But we've got that on the horizon. We'll talk more about Joe. Boroughs plans to hold off throwing here at the combine. But might I'll start with you in terms of do you want? Do you not want to play for the being. You have any issues at all with where we landed at least at this point. No I mean as I said last week Joe Borough at the end he does not have leverage. The bengals have the first pick in the draft. If they want to draft. Joe Joe Borough. That's where he's GonNa go now with that. Said I think it's incumbent upon sack Taylor in the Bengal organization to create the Right Environment. Where he could come in and they could build something sustainable and truly transformative so. I think where we wended. Wendy is appropriate last week. He could've handled that better but to Joe Boroughs credit. I think they tweak things I think they're in a good spot now. He's been well-coached past week. Tower doesn't it. Yeah and Adema to your Do All your contacts. It appears that borough likely young he's projected pick. I still think that's where the bengals ultimately go. And they're sitting there and that's about this a team that needs somebody to revitalize that franchise and they are expected to look to trade Andy Dalton at some point this off season and so when you're sitting there in division with Lamar Jackson there in Baltimore think that they know that they have to get somebody in there. That's going to put some points on the Board Baker Mayfield Cleveland and this is going to be the pick for the Cincinnati bengals. Even Joe was considering trying to exercise some kind of leverage really the only leverage you have is withhold your services and not playing not report even if he was thinking along those lines. Let's say he's doing a deep dive trying to figure out exactly. Just what the Cincinnati offer as far as developing me as a quarterback. Could you blame him? Could you really blame him for wanting to dig? Deep on exactly what? What does the future going to look like during over the course of my rookie contract with this football team would exactly? What exactly is Mike Brown's commitment to go ahead and building out this roster around me because we all know a lot of what's going to happen to him has nothing to do with him and has everything to do with everything that's going to be around him. Just look at the past three or four drafts. And how certain players have benefited from going to certain to certain teams? Just look at l a look at the difference between jar rookie year in his second year. Sean mcvay came in. It flipped his rookie year. People were saying Jared Goff to Canada. All of a sudden his second year is like. Oh wait a minute. Maybe he's not so bad you couldn't blame him. If that was a thought Lewis to that point I also think an opportunity. If you're Zach Taylor to say hey what's happened in the past. It's irrelevant we're going to myself with you and we're going to build something great and we can't worry about what's happened before we have a lot of work to do. But if I'm the bengals if I have a hey coach Taylor. That's worked with quarterbacks. Like you mentioned Jared Goff Joe Boroughs Billy and character. That's a great opportunity for the bengals. Sino three things one. Is that if something were to go on with. The bengals is not going to happen in public and this has been addressed in the past week if it's going to happen behind the scenes so whatever we hear from this point on. Don't even don't even look at it. Don't think about it because it has nothing to do with with what is going on behind the scenes. The second thing is this guy's different cab he beats. It goes a Beatles drummer. He doesn't care what anyone else has done. In the past what everyone else is GonNa do in the future? He's going to do what's best for Joe Borough but the third thing I know about him is he's a football guy he's his. His brothers played linebacker at safety at Nebraska. His Dad's a almost four decades coach in football. He's a football guy at its core. He's from Ohio. Obviously I think when it's all said and done he winds up going in Cincinnati if he's number one overall pick but again. If it's GonNa Happen it's GonNa Happen. Not In the media. It's GonNa happen behind the scenes again. Joe Bro not expected to throw on Thursday. He said he just wasn't ready yet. Not a huge deal. Sam Darnold Kyla Murray. The last two years have opted not to throw here at the combine as well. What did make headlines on Sunday? Oddly enough pros hand measurements the measurable quarterbacks took place on Sunday on the smaller side. Love listen here's what he said after it was suggested his aunt size was small considering retirement after. I was informed that we slipping out of my tiny hands. Please keep me in your thoughts while he's got good company because here's what Super Bowl fifty four. Mvp Patrick Mahomes had to say who had just slightly larger hands than did borough my small Andrew doing great so far all right he should say believe in yet. Here's borough earlier today addressing his hands. Yeah I mean these measurements you can. You can take so much from them if it's a glaring issue on film with turnovers. Yeah it's probably an issue but I didn't have a lot of fumbles or anything like that so I just tried to make a little joke out of it I think it's a non factor I don't get paid to talk about. Measurements and analyze. The measurements like played to play football. So that's what I'm GONNA do. I look we're not gonNA make too much of this question. Well yet about what? They actually do what they're actually measuring here so worry not. We've got a ruler. We've got Louis at. I mean really what you're really trying to do is just trying to measure the expense of someone and they put it down on the ground and you actually hear about guys actually doing hand exercises to stretch their hand as wide as possible although when you're grabbing a football you're actually going to measure from the tip of the thumb to the tip of the Pinky here and this is hard because this is a hard rule and you can't really get good accurate measuring you look tired type by just under nine right. Look I'll give you a non center's Oh that's attention and would have actually done something with my. I mean what's interesting when you watch the tape of Joe Borough? There are situations where people come from behind strip him when he's trying to move up in the pocket and run. I mean that's going to happen if you have nine if you have ten inches so I mean it's not a glaring obvious problem as far as him on the football field and that's why I think it's really. It's just going to be something that will hopefully wind up forgetting about certain the biggest thing is and you know this with all of these drills you know as well. Mike you go back to the tape and you're trying to find something after the fact that says okay. Now I'm going to look specifically at these things so you're gonNA look cold weather rain and then ball security and Joe Boroughs as good as any college quarterback you're ever going to see in the pocket in terms of two hands on the ball and protecting the ball. I saw him in two thousand eighteen the last weekend. In September against Ole Miss. You can go back and watch the tape. My suit was soaking wet when I did the open of that game. It was pouring rain driving rain in anyone who says it doesn't rain in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night is lying to you. Because it poured and he completed seventy two percent of his throws with three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that game. So you go back to the tape and you try to look at these things and what the tape tells you is. He's just fine. You know I had a theory here. I have an interesting experience with hand size so I was forced out in two thousand eight. We were we trade for Brett Farve and just as a fan of sport. I can't wait to go out to the first practice and watch Brett farve throw. There's nothing physically imposing about breath and he goes out there and he's throwing Abe I've ever seen and I ask them like what is the value. Where's this philosophy comes from it? He said you know what Mike I have long fingers and I actually couple of football the way a lot of people throw a softball. I could actually be over the top and that's where I get all my philosophy from just watching my practice. It was unbelievable to watch though. I know as Lewis show. There's a tradition of how we measure hands but finger. Length is actually an underrated aspect of playing quarterback so far so far small hands but long fingers and you know what my pinky and all the time strong throwing football pictures of the five. It's easily the least important finger in the hand and I can't remember it ever being a big factor. It's all there in the grip. The pinky to me doesn't matter. It's archaic. How we're measuring the quarterback's hand span now with that. Said there's thirty four quarterbacks in the last fourteen years who have been drafted that have had hands of nine inches and smaller and really only two of them had any sort of Sustained Success Ryan. Tannehill is one of them and Jared. Goff is the other. That's it so there are thirty two out of thirty four. Who have failed. But are we going to say that he's going to the Joe Boroughs? Not GonNa have success because his hands tells me that the reason for their failure wasn't because they were nine inches weight.

Analytics in the NFL

"Going to talk about these Brown the whole topic of analytics because Mike when you think of mate Alexi often think about major league baseball. And you know Bill James's cyber metric revolution. Should Billy Bean moneyball the book movie all the rest of it and wanted Billy Bean's main guys was Paul D Badescu. CUPID ESTA LA. Believe in the as he goes the mets eventually. Now he's with the Cleveland Browns. Tired and twice sixteen says famously. I don't know too much NFL. But I've got all this information all this analytics we'll make things work also infamous said he didn't think Carson Wentz was the top twenty quarterback now now as we look at your column today. Athletic is always. You can subscribe the athletic read. All Mike's work there the war between analytics and football people is pointless. The real challenge is finding someone who can properly understanding process all the data and then make the right decisions and how to deploy and I'm not sure. The browns have solved that problem yet. They hire Kevin Stansky is their head coach. Why why are you skeptical at? They've solved it. You know I like Kevin and I and I don't mean to be critical Kevin. But I think Kevin's a really smart guy. And I think Kevin's obviously you know well. Educated aided came through the coaching ranks. The right way started on the ground floor worked his way up. I just think it's going to be a real challenging job for him because he's got to manage a lot of personalities in that locker room and deep. Pesto said at the press conference that they were looking for a leader. And you know. And I think that Kevin's probably more of a guy who's low key. Quiet it you know has a shared vision with everybody and that doesn't mean he's not qualified. That just means to me I think the vision of what the browns think they need. And what what. I see the browns needing in terms of somebody to come in and be able to handle Odell Beckham because look like Odell Beckham. The little like Michael Jackson Right. I mean he's is not compliant right he will show up on time. He'll do what he has to do right but the one thing he will do is he will create people following him he will create and so what he doesn't come to. Ot Days where he doesn't want to do things or he wants to go out. Color outside the lines dominic does he. Will you know get the people follow him. And who's going to challenge him to do that. Who's going to challenge him to do that? You know and I thought it was funny. Ad When you know they asked Stefanski Gi you know what did Mayfield think of you like. I'm not really worried. Would Baker Mayfield thinks of me. I'm worried about what I think. Baker Mayfield Shinto like I don't have to make Baker Mayfield Happy Baker Mayfield to make me happy. And I think you can look at all these analytical numbers and it's great but at some point football's a game a leadership. Football's the game of toughness. Football's a game paddle. Football's a game of conditioning. Football's a game of making people do things they really don't WanNa do right. You need intelligence. You need all those things but you need grit. You need some of that and I just think that the way they handle this they obviously got somebody who's more collaborative than dictatorship and. That's what they wanted on it. I'm not sure that's what they needed. As you mentioned the com- analytics is just another word for information. And when you worked for Bill Belichick or walls work with them. You know you were feeding them. Information to quote gridiron genius. The fact you Mike Holmgren were good friends. He called you scooper because you were so tune in and what was going on around the NFL. Hiring coaches like homeroom is a convoluted path to building a staff. It required Walsh to spend lots of time and energy coaching his coaches. That was why he hired guys. Who are intelligent before there? Anything else guys. Were not typical products. The football industry his special teams coach. Fred von happen may still be the only coach in NFL history who read Sylvia plath every day before heading out to the practice field. Maybe the violence of her poetry help to prepare him for the carnage of kickoff coverage. That's a great quote but just to further the point about Walsham ballot check and how they assemble their staffs. Yeah I mean look. Nobody was more cerebral lim bill right but he's a real tough guy. Nobody's more cerebral than Bella check. And he's a tough guy and Fred. Von Was a tough guy you know and he'd read Sylvia Plath and he was was excluding the part that she put her head in an oven and he literally read that every single day it was unbelievable and his vocabulary was incredible vocabulary. Sorry but they had a sense of toughness and I think that parcells is the same way. parcells wants to hire guys from the Military Academy. He wants smart people right. Everybody wants smart people. They want smart people but they also want smart people that are going to be branded and do what they wanna do. And demand from the players not collaborate from the players and I think that this analytical nonsense is truly we're all in the information business so all the information is really important in my belief is that we're missing in the point when somebody puts on and says well there in eleven personnel. And they're doing this and that like do you understand what the eleven is and what they're really trying to accomplish. I mean Tevin Coleman was the running back that was the main back this week because Kyle Shanahan wanted a running back. Who's GonNa Threaten Mike Zimmer in the backfield because Mike Zimmer was gonNA play three linebackers now once that happened that according to the chart? That's twenty-one toward the analytic he's in twenty one personnel but he's really not because he's got Coleman in the game he's only in twenty anyone with Coleman because he's got three linebackers so how do you differentiate that you know. How do you break down the information you know? There's so many times I've been in meeting with Bela check. I'll be watching tape. And I made a comment. He said well the only reason they're doing that is because they're doing up about anyone into that you know like oh I got it now I got you just taught me something right. Like that's the game

Browns Make It Official

"We will start with the official news out of Cleveland Scavenge to ban skis hired by the browns. They announce officially on Monday. He's thirty seven. Spent fourteen seasons as an assistant in Minnesota but has never been a head coach at any level level his entire. NFL coaching career. As I mentioned has been with one organization the Minnesota Vikings Stansky took over play calling duties on offense late in the two thousand eighteen season. Minnesota ran the ball. Forty seven percent of the time with Danske asked the play caller. That's the second highest rate in that span trailing only the Baltimore Ravens was introduced at a press conference just a little while ago. I the foremost success starts with people and I know we'll talk a lot about culture but it is absolutely about the people and everybody knows the Harry Truman quote. It's amazing what you can accomplish when no one cares who gets. That's the credit and that's what I believe. We have in our building. We have great people. I know we're going to add to it will hire G. G. M. here in the next week can or two and we're going to add to this culture that that we're building here and we have the right people and again. I can't stress enough. How excited I am the be? Just a part of did you know to use a basketball terms to my dad can understand this. I want to be the point guard for this organization. I want to bring the ball up then I wanNA share the basketball and let so what else get an easy bucket though smiling over there. WE'RE NOT GONNA I'M NOT GONNA speak anything into existence right now I can. I promise you that we're GONNA work. I've already spoken to a few of our players already. And that's what I'm about I'm about working and I'm about putting a foundation together the other. We will be methodical about it. We will not skip. Step two two and three to get to four. We're GONNA start in the foundation and then we're going to reinforce foundation Shen said we can build upon it and when I'm talking about this I'm talking about schemes and technique will be diligent about working with our players so that they can develop into the the best versions of themselves and ultimately we're building a foundation for what we hope is a championship. Effort will have a culture of accountability. We'll have structures is in place the players will understand our rules. And what we're about and we're going to demanding and we're going to hold each player accountable. Because ultimately I know this about players they they May Not come out and ask you for that. But that's what they want. Well perhaps the tenth. TIME IS THE CHARM IN CLEVELAND. Stansky is the tenth full time head coach Wjr. The browns have hired since returning to the League in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine that is the most in the league over that span of the previous nine. None have posted a winning record. Heard and not a single one has lasted more than four seasons continuity and consistency has been a real issue in Cleveland. Victor certainly something they'd like to you see changes to fanciest step in the right direction. In your opinion will I believe he is and I think that consistency where it is important. And right because you put up that list of all the coaches and the coaches that they've they've pretty much funneled through throughout the years can you provide that level of stability that they've been seeking for almost a year in and year out. Can you provide that for their now. The thing I do like about Stansky a fan ski is that he has experience with creating plays for two star receivers and I think that's something that's going to have to translate over to the Cleveland. Browns obviously with Odell Beckham junior junior and Jarvis Landry and having that experience I'm sure enticed of that for an office inside bring him in and understanding that they got to get the best out of these players in the best out of all their play makers obviously nick included In the backfield now is he going to be a leader of men and he is he going to be able to handle. The Eagles and the different personalities is that are in that locker room. Desk the biggest question that still remains to be seen. It's defense gas interviewed with the browns. Before in fact it's believed that he was the first source of politics but Desta several seasons ago and and it didn't work out. Matt you spent time with him as part of that Minnesota Vikings Organization. What can you tell us right? He he was a young quarterback coach at the time. And so when I got there was actually a little bit older than he was which is an interesting dynamic but at the same time. He's been all around that building. You know he's an administrative assistant and when he started there then. He was a quarterback coach. He's I've been with the running backs he's been with the wide receivers so he's been in all the different elements of the offensive side of the ball. He's seen the ups and downs. He's seen how free agency can impact so he's got a great feel feel. He's a great leader. He's got a presence about himself in the other thing that I think that the Cleveland browns are probably drawn to is the simple fact that this is a very quarterback friendly offensive structure that he's presented presented in for a guy like Baker Mayfield that had had his struggles last year. And maybe some confidence issues. Maybe not though. Let's see the press conference the same time. It's a quarterback friendly. There's a lot of play action. There's a lot of movement of the pockets. A Lotta easy throws to be made screen. And then there's like you said that balance forty seven percent percent of the time the run the ball. There's great balance in that offensive structure in for a young quarterback and going into his third year after some struggles. I think this is a great fit for that organization Asian and going back to when they actually made this higher People in Cleveland were telling me that it was actually his run game because we see what he was able to do with Dowling Cook and how he was able to make become a good player to really a great one and he's a central part of that offense that we now see in Minnesota and that was a big part of it but in terms of now Cleveland going forward looking for GM the way it was explained to me is they really want these to head coach and gm to work as one. This is why they moved on. From John Dorsey Percy and Freddie Kitchens. They didn't feel like this was working together. So they're looking for someone who has the same vision and the analytics department obviously is of of crucial part of Cleveland. And what they're looking for a head coach and I think that's why Stefanski became that lead candidate because he's accepting of it. He wants to be part of that and You know I think I saw some reports out there about how Cleveland is demanding that their head coach presents the game plan to ownership and really the way it was explained to me. It's not so much that they want to see the game plan. They just want everyone to be in sync to go over to make sure they're all on the same page headed into the game. Well you can't blame him and and that is something that clearly was not the case. I think you make a great point. It's poor in that somebody come in and be able to work and mold Baker Mayfield but also be able to be the CEO and run this whole organization and have everybody else be accountable. I think Freddie Kitchens might have had one of those two things that went by the wayside outside the quarterback with the hiring in Cleveland. What it does mean? Is that every chair on the head. Coaching carousel is now accounted for. The browns were the fifth and final team to hire a new head coach in the off season. Three of the hires tires Stefanski as we just discussed Joe Judge with the giants and Matt Raw and Carolina our first time. NFL head coaches the other two quite the contrary contrary Mike McCarthy in Dallas Ron Rivera in Washington they will get a second chance or in some cases third or fourth various established. NFL head coaches of of all the five. Who Intrigues you? The most in their new spot intrigues me is Matt Rule. I WanNa see what really transpires here right. He seven years sixty million dollar contract. That's a big commitment big commitment. I mean we might need to think about going into coach. That's it has everything else that they're also saying that they're making a commitment to Cam Newton with the type of style and the offensive structured. That they've set up McCaffrey's there I mean they've got the pieces of the puzzle there now. It's interesting to see how that that offensive structure from college translates to the NFL. which is I mean? There's been guys like chip Kelly in the past right John Harbaugh's price guy. That's been the most successful but that was more of a pro style offense with the most the most recent Kingsbury in Arizona so cliff Kingsbury. Excuse me it's been a mixed bag. There's no question. Let me ask you this just circling back to something you said by hiring Matt rule it you believe this means a commitment to Cam Newton. Can you explain why why I just think that The Baylor and watching their offense of structure and the RPO that takes place that's run pass options and all the different things that they're well versed in and that the Baylor offense has been historically historically very successful with in terms of that offense of structure I just think that that Fits Cam Newton's game very well and so I believe that that's a statement saying look. We wanted to bring somebody in here that you're going to be comfortable in this type of offense of structure and go out and be able to put yourself in a position to have success extent to intrigue you for me. Is Joe Judge my beloved giants. I think well I just think because going into it. Once I saw the Vacancy Happen at the head coaching position I was all right. The giants are GonNa come in here and get either like a Ron Rivera type or even McCarthy and get a guy that will come in and commanding presence. Once he walks into the building and I think with the hiring of Joe Judge just left me like okay I. It felt like the same cycle almost felt like coach mcadoo a couple years ago when you give a guy a shot and bring him in if he can transcend The coaching position or the year. After that when you bring in Pat Shurmur and you try to bring take a chance on another guy. Felt like we're taking another chance on another guy but granted. I must say I loved after the press conference I loved his mannerisms I love. He literally embodied what the New York Giants Football Organization is all about when he stepped up there on that podium Liam so I say that with a grain of salt because I love the press conference and I think he's going to bring something different than the other two coaches did in the past. But I still left me scratching my head in terms of who was out there here in the type of guys that could've came in that building and commanded a present these guys by the way Matt Rule and Gioja Geno. It's not about winning the press coverage but they did rule who was must see TV. I was just watching. He's missing time with the giants. Who so I knew all about? He's got does I think you know obviously recruiting such a big part of being a head coach in college. You don't mean to recruit You know when you're in the NFL. Which is why? I'm an agreement with you. I think that is the most enticing match COPA or at least the situation of the coaches just because you just look at history and making that jump from college the NFL. It's not easy and there just hasn't been a high success rate there. I think obviously he spent a little time with a giant. So it's not like he's

Does the NBA need to do something about Kawhi Leonard's 'load management'?

"Cannot love something but no. It's good for the business. I don't love load management but Kawhi Leonard when he's is holding the trophy. Nobody's GONNA say November sex. You missed the game against Janos. Here's the thing and I was talking to a scout in the league about this today. When you do this type below management you better hold the trophy and June? You better because if that's why. Nobody was complaining last year in Toronto. 'cause they won if if you don't win the championship then you're going to get criticized for low manager. I think it's ridiculous. You don't like it. No not at all. We talk about the fans and all that but it's also deceptive. There are people. I don't know if this is true. Some will tell you that told the clippers. He's only gonNA play sixty five games. I I I was told I was told by somebody in the building. Part of the discussion was sixty. Five right right and look. I have said Kawai Leonard under deserves to be considered the best player in the world. Right now I think is the way he what he did last year. The play offs even his start this year he deserves. It had a now. Janas honest could take it this year. Lebron could try to get it back this year. Anthony Davis whoever but right now Kawai deserves that title. But I'm telling you I can't I can't give you that if you just sit now randomly because you don't feel like how you're healthy. It's it's three weeks into the season. Eight Games why in the world are you saying now almost think it's a mental block because in his nine years in this being nine so say eight first full years he only only plays seventy or more games twice. I almost feel like he. He's like if I played too many games. I'M NOT GONNA be healthy like I. I wonder if there's a mental by why in the world are you sitting when you're healthy. Well I think it worked for him. I think I'll say this. I Like Adam silver a lot David. David Stern was the owners. Commissioner Adam Silver is the players commissioner and if I start giving my kids ice cream for breakfast they e-expect ice cream for breakfast and was that ice cream due to them is gonNA ruin health and I'll say this. I think this is bad. Optics for the League for Middle America Erica. You Go to pay four hundred bucks. And you don't get Colli Leonard in Janas and I I would tell Adam silver to his face. He is incredibly pro player. Sure and so. What are the players do they go off? Players are doing in a game here there you know and certainly the last week or two. I don't mind when you're getting ready for the playoff games. That's fine but this is just beyond the Pale. In my opinion it really is an atom. Look Lee doesn't like this you think. ESPN's Inter it hurt the players pocketbooks. And maybe that's what will change and that's why the the players Association's get involved because the next TV deal you don't think. ESPN is going to bring this up if there is no question TNT in ESPN. Dan are fury right so that will lower their offers so that will affect the salary cap and what the players are making so the players association should get involved to be like like look. You gotta play when you're healthy. Play the Games. I and here's another thing and again I I like. I said he's a tremendous player. You can't dislike him as a person because he's quiet. He's low maintenance all that but I can't let's not let's stop the Michael Jordan stuff. I see your game I love the mid range. The two dribbles no wasted dribbles to dribble. Pull up you do it on both ends but if you just sit now games because you don't I want to play I don't want to compare to. Michael Jordan does play every

"You don't take that to the media? You don't do it. He's dead wrong. One hundred percent. What do you make a Baker Mayfield Rippin, Hugh and Rippin Haley, what do you make of that stuff? You know, you. It's in. I haven't talked to Hugh about this. I have not. But this is just my opinion when Hugh got fired nobody you you didn't talk about this. And it was shocking to me. Did you see what Todd Haley said when Hugo fire? No. And then Todd Haley got fired. Todd. Haley was shocked at he got fired because I thought I would be given an opportunity to interim coach that's what Todd Haley said. Todd Haley thought he was going to be the interim coach. So that tells me or it makes me believe Todd. Haley was bad mouth in hue to Baker this whole time. He was thirty macking behind his back. This whole time cans MP's was a quarterback coach isn't going to do that. Because he was in cincy would Hugh. He's not he's not he's not going to do that. For Baker Mayfield to come out and say he's fake. He's what did he do to you to show you that he's fake some coach on that staff? His bad mouth you to Baker in Baker is taking it personal, dude. This is the NFL this ain't college football when you get fired, and you'd have an opportunity to get a job you're going to take it because Baker if you get cut. The Baltimore Ravens wanna sign you. Are you going to say, no, I'm not going to the ravens because we weren't the same division is. No, you're going to take the job somebody on that staff. Bad mouth you to Baker my opinion, because he like he didn't want no part to shake his hand. And he's come out, and it was real personal very very in. That's Baker mayfield's a number one peak Hugh had one Baker to succeed because that meant I'm gonna keep my job. Somebody went behind Hugh back. Somebody did not like you in. It's sad that a coach on staff, and they note or listening who I believe is Todd Haley, and I could be wrong went behind. Hugh's back and bad mouth into Baker Mayfield. Good stuff you'd be brought the game today. And I do appreciate the. What we call it the role playing on the show today. A lot of people are uncomfortable with that you your Jerry Jones. You are excellent. I was an agent I had to get into agency talkie. Now, he did he took a second. Do you get very listen. I became a salesman very sales. All right because see anybody over the news. This is the third line knew that Baker story. He has no regrets about criticizing Hugh Jackson or calling him fake an Instagram posts. And yesterday he was asked to elaborate on what he meant by calling. Hugh Jackson fake. Let's listen to his answer. Just things that happened inside the building I'm not going to get into detail with its in house information doesn't matter we've moved on. We have our coach right now, we have our play caller. And we're having successively the books. I get it. But I don't have to go into details. Now, the one thing I will say that. I don't agree with Baker on. And I think it's just him being caught up in what TJ was just talking about like, whatever this drama is between the two of them. Yeah..

"I nothing in the world is right if I'm wrong on this, I think it's going to be close to fifty fifty. I think his, I think his gauge of how many people hate him off. I think there is a group of people that hate Kevin Durant, but I think overwhelmingly, most people think he is great and I think overall down the road most of it, I don't think he made the right decision. Okay. Go to my Twitter account. They're going to put it up here in a couple of minutes. I think he's going to be fifty fifty. I think people love Kevin Garnett's and everybody else thinks he's hated Ross just came up to me and I hate him and I was like, you're not even hateful. Okay. Coming up tonight on FOX Vikings, Rams going gonna be great. Fifteen minutes hall of Famer would Rod Woodson says slow down all this Baker Mayfield stuff, but last Thursday. Let's be honest. Baker Mayfield was the star, and this is how big of a star bakers, teammate, Rashard Higgins thinks he'll be right here. They might be the next big thing and he might be on LeBron wall what I like to call it. I'm excited to see what what he can bring to the team. You know. Nothing but good things. Here's an amazing thing about Baker Mayfield. He is already top ten in NFL jersey sales. Why is that a big deal folks? He hasn't started a game yet. Everybody else on the list. You know has started games, Tom Brady, Julio Jones, Odell Beckham, Luke cake Louis. But the jets and the Browns got a TV rating about a week ago and it was shocking to me. It was a shocking TV rating and it wasn't about the jets and it wasn't about Sam darnold. It was a Baker Mayfield TV rating, and I always try to be a consumer when I do my show, what do I care about? And so when I drive into work in the morning, what interests me, I wanna be viewer. I wanna be a listener. I don't wanna think like me. I wanna think like you and the game. I cannot wait to watch this week. This Sunday is Baker Mayfield at Oakland. That's the game that intr-. Me the most. Is it because Baker Mayfield great. He's not even the best quarterback in that game. He checks all the boxes. He position quarterback police video profoundly popular in college controversial. He's got commercials and Goodwin's all over television. He's an underdog, he's in a city in a franchise that called losers like the cubs and he's a winner, and I'll tell you this LeBron in Ohio was a messiah people never thought they related to LeBron he was like a gift. He was born there and you looked up at LeBron like people in the west, look up at God. You don't relate to God's up there bakers right here, bakers, haulers. You bakers about your size. Baker is flawed. Baker, make mistakes. Bakers, got a police video bakers. Goofball Baker comes on this show and argues bakers, emotional, LeBron James was a gift. He was a messiah. You never felt you were his equal. You never felt that with the Brown. You're looking up at LeBron James Johnny Carson old TV star in America. In the late Johnny..

"He's already shut this down. You spend a second round pick to acquire tyrod Taylor. Tyrod Taylor is a Pro Bowl, playoff leading team quarterback, and he's done nothing bakers played well had tyrod Taylor stepped off a cliff. Got no problem there. Well, let's hope step off a cliff. Hey, he'd given me no reason that I can see with my praying got another day. Got it. Cut ahead, Netflix ability. So you got it because I got it. I got my before you got your. But anyway, but what I've seen tyrod Taylor has done nothing to let Baker Mayfield surpass him to be the number one quarterback and I get the anx that everybody either the number one pick just put him in there. But Hugh Jackson is one in thirty one in thirty two games as the Cleveland Browns head coach. He believes he feels that tyrod gives them the best chance to win games early and to maintain his job. And from what I've seen in the preseason tyrod Taylor has done nothing to dissuade or to move Hugh Jackson off that. You finished because I'm ready to start, hey, oh, you out to unleash because I have a message for all the great long suffering, Cleveland Browns fans out in our audience right now. No, no, no, no, no. This is so wrong and you know, it's wrong. Cleveland fans do not let Hugh Jackson get away with this. Don't let him by another year of job security by saying that he's going to put Baker Mayfield on is until he's learned so that he can be ready. Baloney. He's ready now he's better than tyrod or tyrod or whatever his name is. Now, the Cleveland Browns are on the verge. Now the what they're on, the verge of pulling off a bunch of upsets, especially Baltimore Ravens. Thanks to Joe fluke co as starting quarterback. They got a chance to make. A big splash in this division. They got a kid who I told you before the draft. He should be the number one pick and they were smart enough or at least John Dorsey. The new GM was smart enough to take him number one overall, because Baker Mayfield is the most NFL ready of all these young quarterbacks because he played in a highly sophisticated complex, Lincoln Riley offense at the university of Oklahoma, Jenny was there. Ginny knows Baker Mayfield has high football IQ Baker Mayfield.

"Los Angeles iheartradio, Fox, Sports, radio f s one joy, Taylor's joining me joy pointed out earlier, and she's right tonight is a bizarrely interesting. Preseason schedule Baker Mayfield, Lamar Jackson. Who else is playing Josh Allens plan, Patrick Mahomes as plan. Cowboys are planning. We'll see a lot of these quarterbacks, and frankly, we don't know what we're denting. So the preseason mostly are the raiders planning tonight. Okay. I want to see that wanna see that dumpster fire. All right. So that's what we got tonight preseason. Now, we just had an exclusive interview with Teo. I interview coming off his hall of fame induction. We went at it. We're going to give you a couple of minutes in a bit on that, but a former teammate abo-, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers made an interesting comment about each of them. So I'm starting there. We tend to think that talent determines your legacy as a quarterback, and I'm here to tell, you know, it doesn't. No, it doesn't. Personality dictates your legacy is a quarterback, you think Tom Brady and Joe Montana are the two greatest quarterback talents ever? No, they're not. They had the perfect personality with the coach, the owner and the GM they work with personality will determine your quarterback legacy. Here's a great example. Martellus Bennett little flaky, but I know him and I like him has played with Brady and Aaron Rodgers. And here's what he had to say when comparing Aaron Rodgers or the Packers and Tom Brady of the New England, Patriots, no has more armed founder day Aaron. Erica do pretty much anything with the ball home is precise. He's is play with, I'll say, easier to play with anybody else. He communicate the best of what he is big communication between him receiver. There's probably like when the highest level. Oh, Tom's the better commute. Indicator, therefore the better team mate. Is that surprising? Well, let's look at Tom Brady's history. He comes from a formidable family. When talking about his mother and father, he often cries on camera. He then creates with Giselle an amazing family, which he lets us watch during a documentary. It's remarkable for to global icons. It's remarkably grounded, and then he goes to the NFL for eighteen years joy and creates the greatest family in two.

"Oregon is off a bye. Ooh, that's dangerous. That is that's very dangerous. And quite frankly, they have to beat Auburn. And then if they beat Auburn been, they're going to be allowed to maybe slip up and potentially even. I do think that's that's a tough one. Auburn's rebuilding their offensive line. I think Washington should win. They should. There's just NFL quarterbacks. They're auburn's is a better prospect at quarterback in the NFL auburn's rebuilding their own line in auburn's had two crucial wide receiver. Ver- injuries. So I think Washington went to fairly low scoring football just to give you an idea. Oklahoma has not played back to back consecutive week road games since two thousand eleven, and Washington's gotta go consecutive week road games the the second being at Oregon, a true contender with a top ten pick quarterback? Yes, off a bye. That's a really good coach. So that's that's a rough. Okay. So in review, you whiffed on the Baker Mayfield opinion, but you are pretty good everywhere else. Listen, you're so funny. I thing you're we to be tough Franck quarterbacks, and then I got that junk grabbing Baker Mayfield guy, and you're like, you're Toubon quarterback coward let's be honest about it. All I said is that quarterbacks need to fight through adversity and guess what that kid did transfer. Listen, he walked on had to go to a different school. He's fought through adversity. You want a guy that's gonna compete for and win a job. It's Baker Mayfield tyrod Taylor's. Got no shot, hey, by the way they gonna Mayfield it's going to be there. I got a lot of pushback on the show yesterday from a lot of people. By the way Baker, I was almost like a proud father when he came on this show. Yeah, he just crushed you. Oh, it was like an empty soda can like, you know, you step on an soda Cam, so good. The break. We said this yesterday on the show in joint pushback on this. I mean, seriously, I said she, she goes, could you tackle somebody in the NFL? And I said, well, if I was a free safety had an angle and baker's running down the sideline. Also, he's the one you're going to chop his legs. Oh, okay. You don't think so. No. I mean, you don't think I could tackle bay. For Mayfield clearly. No. Okay. Have a free safety. I've got an angle and he's kind of slowly jogging down the field. I couldn't pop those legs. I would give you like like a zero percent chance. I think cons going through something. Joel. He's gonna pull up to work tomorrow in like a pink or green Lamborghini or something. You're not. You're not tackling Baker Mayfield think anybody in the NFL I could tech. What about what about this? I'm your only chance is, is Brady. You guys. I mean, you're both middle aged guys running slowly around the field. I mean, could bring him literally go to tackle them. I'd be like, hey, man, I can't. What do you think joy, Tom Brady? Is that his best chance? This is not. This is not a shot at Colin, but I think sometimes we get a little too close to athletes. Forget that they're professional athletes. I totally agree. People have no concept. Professional athletes are right, but differences. Okay. Let's do this. Could I tackle, you know, no doubt. Aside line now they take pretty boy face right out, not a chance. Go ahead hunting for you. I fully support and I feel like we should just go to a field and find out. You feel protocol. I go right after you. I've been in plenty of concussion protocols. I don't think you could break a painting. Joel Klatt everybody join him. No. This is the third line news conclaves he runs every day I do. I run today after the show I went y'all gigging soft yet. On the beach was lovely. It goes to be running on the beach, very hard rock style snake, Baker Mayfield. He insists it's business as usual on prep. I, I fell action Thursday night against the giants. You Jackson said all week. He expects Baker to play quote quite a bit. But if you thought he'll have any first game jitters, you are wrong. Let's game for a long time..
