"atlas" Discussed on THE FIGHT with Teddy Atlas

"You see the way. He's he's fatigued. Hook as fallen in there and what is he doing. Who's got the edge here. The guy coming in or the guy staying back to guy stay back not necessarily the guy beat aggressive that we take for granted because the guy stayed back pori had his feet set and he was able to catch him as he came in he was able to time on the way head with his feet. Set with the other guy was groping. The other guy was reaching at a red. Daddy read that body like which and he stood dating. Go at him and he let him he let hook do some of his work form. Walk into shots that he could time him as he walked in. Yeah and you get the sense here. That hooker definitely wants to fight on the ground. because he's so tired dustin getting the better of on the feet now well how those a little subtle move on the inside. Doesn't let go and let it go. I wonder if he's going to do it again. He's gonna suddenly let go. And then let the punches call. He does that. Well you know. Have you net grip and then you kinda let up a little thick and okay. We're going to have a little break here. And then as you let up out of that grip hit head toward a couple. Short shot satcher. This round is poor. Because i mean not just because we'll will witnessing you know obviously as far as strategically and what he's doing but he just looks a little more control themselves doesn't he. Then then hawker for sure. Yeah i mean it looks to me like hocus trying to buy time in trying to stay busy. That was a smart card hookers. Leaning forward doesn't true an uppercut in there. See i always the toilet guy. The hookers grappling off timed them on the way in. He didn't let him just get a free got him now now. He's looking for that. That that choke. I don't know that hooker is thrown a punch in the last two or three. What's keeping on. I guess hookers keeping his chin low enough. We can't quite get that on the need to on. The he's got is back to the cage so dust and really can't get leverage on. Yeah see now. He's got his own not quite but by just staying down there. He gave up the round. Wow wow he-here's he earned it. I was a hell of heared dad round one it. Yeah i mean and we're going to get the see both guys in action on the twenty-third. Wow i forgot how good that fight was also this lessons to be learned at all times one of the lessons for does centers to offer watching this one time to learn going into the rematch with mcgregor as don't do the things that hook it did that became available for you to take advantage of like reaching in. Yeah you know what. I mean like when reached in that was able to happen. You know where poor was able to time him and that's something that mcgregor does so well as he gets should reach in. And you know it's funny. Everyone to look at mcgregor says go get your guy because the results at the end of the day way scores knockouts in striking. But he's a counterpuncher and look at. Why was i was unbelievable that he was able to take those shots. I mean just a chin on these guys. I mean candies. Are ten ounce gloves on his hand. See these four ounce. I wonder sometimes. I wonder if and four out as the selection of the punches and soul point he was in close. What's he do. He selects An uppercut because he was leaning forward. Yeah see see the. There's a shorter guy out jab in the toilet guy and as the left hand because the taller guy is allowed him into his area and to an area he a taller guy. Theoretically shouldn't let you into. He knew he knew he. I mean you see right here you you could usually see who knows. Oh yeah and. I think that's what he was saying. There were five. The fifth round was to win it for me. I think that's for sure but that's to me. That's what he would have meant five in other words. It wasn't a four round fight. It was a five hour fight. And i took the fifth round. Great fight applauds to both first of all respect. Kudos just admiration to both guys. So both guys yeah. Tremendous looking forward to see him. Both guys in action. That was a lot of fun teddy. Thanks for doing this. And thanks for being with us guys. If you want to see some more fight breakdowns. Please send us a message. Is share the links. Let us know who else. JRPG Report Episode 144 - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Black First Details - burst 02

"Hello friends welcome back to the show. This is the g. rpg. Report episode one hundred and forty five little bit weird this week and we knew it was going to be with christmas eve falling on our normal release date and of course christmas the next day and there must situation My little girl's birthday being the day after christmas so yeah we get a bang bang. Bang three a craziness there. Obviously just mitt that there was really no time to reporter Record a podcast. Even before christmas was just too hectic so We're recording this on saturday. The twenty seventh just a couple days left in twenty twenty. Goodbye rents But we've got a lot of cool things to talk about today. I kinda wanna wrap up all the stuff that we've missed as it's been nine days since our last pockets. No i'm sorry that's not even right. That is fuzzy. Math is been eleven days since our last podcast. So we've got a few things to go over That have popped off. Since then. And i wanna kinda look look forward to sometime this week. Mean jordan are going to get together and kind of talk about What games we really loud from. Twenty twenty maybe even discussed some Game of the year options and then look forward to twenty twenty one as Right off the bat. We got a bunch of games coming out in the beginning of the first the new year. We got to tell you rods two. You've got bravely default to you've got he's nine And the newly Confirmed for some of five strikers. Just a name The the big big ones I'm sure there'll be others. That will be unfortunately lost in the in the way. So we're going to record that sometime this week and In lieu of any news breaking. I may just make that part of the normal podcast unsure on that. But let's get into it. I hope you guys had a wonderful christmas holiday I didn't have any games that i particularly wanted that. We're already out. So i just kind of asked Asked the parents for Email confirmation that beginning Today risa to when it comes out on january twenty six that was cool and i did end up much too. Many of your delight. Hopefully i'm finally going to take a dive into these series. I picked up. Yee's eight for only twenty dollars on the ps story. I could not refuse as the physical version just refuses to ever go down in price so i figured this was by far the best opportunity. Get in on. What many consider to be a very very good. Jr pg and at some point. I'll be playing. It don't really know when that's going to be but that's enough rambling We did have fell. Calm day Twenty twenty winter addition and we got a few tidbits of information about the new legend of heroes. Toddle kiro no koseki if you notice the thumbnail for this Podcast are the two newest main characters is a third as well but these They dig use some high-rise resolution images of the to unsure why the third one was kind of like ashaari pow We'll get you later but still no names for these two characters but we do have a bit of information stuff. You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. If you'd like to see all those. I did put up a slide show video on our youtube channel. So you can check those out if you don't feel like clicking through pictures of via the website here is what we do know and i will just read this to you as this is the about for the new age of heroes karoo new koseki beyond the blue sky ahead of flashing light a land. A dawning resides cuba. There's no spoilers going on in here. This is all preliminary stuff in the news story arc. So we don't have to worry about that type of stuff the ladder this latter half of the trails. There is about to begin. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. Supposedly it talks about wiz walt. The country established by those mejia's. They did it themselves to studies. The magic research institute But the the real kicker with this one and you can see it. Is this places overgrown. It looks like it was built kind of in the middle of it are on top of a giant tree. And there's just this tree just going right up through entire town is really cool again Trailer is how long was trailer of about three and a half minutes. Like i said in japanese so you can't really tell what's going on but it is kind of cool to see some of the visuals in action Four it but if you're elected shake those game out for yourself you can check out the demo for it It is now live on the east shop and One who feels the demo before its release will even pick up one hundred mine. Intendo platinum points here is the Short official description of the demo experienced the games at risk and reward system character strategy and stunning visuals in the latest braley default to final demo in this demo. The games four men characters are already other journey with jobson abilities at their disposal. I downloaded this. The other night. as if getting the switch away from my kid was hard enough with minecraft previously The kid did pretty good for Christmas and her birthday. And i now had to contend with her own copy of animal crossing so she and my wife can play two switches and who copies of animal crossing so they can will each other's islands. I know she also got the Spyro trilogy which. I really enjoyed those games growing up. So i can't wait to play those with her and relive those moments and she picked up mario maker to so. I'm not seeing that switch for a while. Maybe once she goes to sleep. If i don't have anything to play eck fired that demo. I would like to see how it is shaping up as will If you've got some free time and you're looking for d'you monster hunter rise. There are to say ten videos in total. Let's do a little no here. One two three four seven eight nine ten eleven twelve. There's twelve total. So i check. They were they were released in two packs. I take them all and made them into six long. Because it only about a minute minute long. So if you're one to check out some of the different weapons they go into monster hunter rise. You can do that going from Things like the switch axe gun lance hammer sorted shield heavy light bogue gun. Land is long swords and even the hunting horn. You check all those out over on our youtube channel. J rpg report dot com. You can also see a new second official trailer for the action. Rpg magnum lord Still no western released on this one yet. It is coming out in japan on march. The eighteenth for playstation four and switch said. This is the second trailer for the game. It looks pretty cool. I do hope that they bring this one. Over is from publisher. D three Developer felicia quite heard of them before. But still no word on it. I really hope they bring this over because it does pretty fun but yeah nothing Nothing quite yet. i'll go over some of these ones. That are just videos. There's a fifteen minutes of new footage from christ tales. This is previewing the present and future game play of it Remember this game got pushed back to early. Twenty twenty one. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Obviously you're doing with a system of past present and future while stuff can go wrong and working Just the way that you would like it to work New genesis the fantasy star online. To almost say reboot but definitely the new version of there is the opening movie for it and you should probably check this out. If we're looking at over fifty minutes of new footage as well mostly the character creation for its but this opening movie You know typically when you see these opening movies. They're using a pre rendered scenes. This was actually created using parts of the in game graphics. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. They got some good voice. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Twenty twenty one Unless you're in these countries in the no fast if you are but we are a western primarily focused podcasts. So you're not going to get in china taiwan hong kong macau singapore malaysia or korea Sorry don't i don't know why maybe that is. Just it's gonna come out later. Maybe there's some rules preventing that From happening if we're interested in getting it on a closed beta for the game. They will have one for canada. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. There was a global announced trailer for it This came back It came back in march of twenty nineteen in japan. Had a whole bunch of issues with it and It was de definitely the this game was deadly responsible for some financial hardships for nippon ichi. And they finally got up. Right obviously gotta writes the point. Now they're really to bring this thing out worldwide As far as the gotcha game or not. I don't know if i recall. I think it was paid game. But i should probably ended up before speaking about it. But i'm sure there's elements in there but hopefully this is a Not another one of those kind of like. We've we've like. We've got enough of those already know ankara today. So in place of it you get one last plea for listener support We've had a few people signed up for but really not a whole lot of response so I kind of said you guys. I would do this to the year. See what we got and move forward I would love to have listener support. Not have the need for ads but it is just a reality of life and we may just see what that happens. If i get a bunch outpouring of support here after listening to this. I may reconsider. But at this point at least in the a few few adds to offset the cost of Of the time spent during the podcast hope to understand and hope you are okay with that excited much. Rather have just you guys Do that and not have to worry about. It would wait and see so you. Click on the link right below this episode. Either through anchor. John daly greatly. Appreciate it. And i don't have the read ads. You don't have to listen to him. Dx and the They were supposed to come on japan on february twenty eighth. they have been delayed until march fourth. Twenty twenty one in japan. So if and when a western. What's going to happen for that. it's now going to be About five weeks later. I would to guess based on This delay these games Were from chloe tecmo and gusts so yeah just a little bit of Delay they save for further quality improvements. The games will be available for. Ps four switch and pcv steam win. They are released whenever that is sort. Leave Out Porridge for Belligerent Elves on Christmas Eve

"More trip to europe before christmas to explore some interesting traditions. This time in denmark as kids in america may be getting ready to leave out cookies for santa on friday and don't worry after his scientifically dubious assertions about old saint nick having magical immunity to covid nineteen. Dr fauci has since clarified that. He took a trip to the north pole to vaccinate santa claus himself. Anyways wall here in the us. It's cookies for santa. in denmark. Children leave out porridge for mischievous lives as bribe to make sure they behave the elves. Not the kids. The idea of needing to keep these elms or nisa. Happy goes back to at least the middle ages when farmers explained various bad luck and the hardships of a long winter on the nisa farm. If you kept the nissan happy your livestock would survive the winter in all else would go. Well if you disrespected or upset the nida you may find horrors in the morning like your cow. Having dropped dead to stay on your nieces good side families began offering him a bowl of porridge. On christmas eve. Poor inge was a common staple at the time but the one for the nissan would be special made of rice instead of oats or barley boiled in milk and topped with butter. atlas obscure shares. "Joining us now. Is laurie garrett. She is a health policy analyst and pulitzer prize winning science writer. Who has been a real voice of reason for us over the course of this crisis laurie. It's really nice to see you. Thank you for being here so you and a lot of other public health experts. They called this back in the summer when the white house decided they were going to take away from. Cdc and have the trump administration. Have hhs collect this data in instead. It really does seem to have been born out in the months since how big a problem is this. How much better off would we be. If we had real data we could count on well. First of all rich we really all agreed to of gratitude to charles pillar who has doggedly covered this story for science magazine for the last three months performed brilliantly and one of them really important things that he has surrey. Thank all of a sudden you are coming on my television for which i apologize talks. And he and he and one of the things that he revealed was that deborah burks was really behind this. She wanted more control of the data she didn't trust. Cdc and claim that the data was sloppy by moving it into hhs they actually then barbed out to private companies. One was a private firm called telegraphing. Biggest client they never had and the other was pailin tier which of course not much later went public on the stock market tear was engaged to sort of massage and analyze the data on the result was of course at the hospitals. Were thoroughly confused. Who are we supposed to send data. To what form are we supposed to fill out. How do we do this. What computers are we supposed to us and for a long time in the summer right after this all started we really had almost no data related to rely upon at all Eventually the federal government started really pushing hospitals around. And said you're gonna lose your medicare contracts. We're gonna take your medicaid and medicare patients and throw them at another hospital if you don't start reporting data to us. Whoa alright swallow hospital start flooding data in. But what's the reliability of the relevance of it. What does it really mean. now. Here's where the the crux of the problem is if your job is to decide how much. Ppe needs to go to arkansas. Or how how much dexsa. Methadone needs to go to south dakota if your job is managing the national stockpile and determining whether or not reading to crisis level of shortages of protective gear for nurses for example. You need to know what's the hospitalization rate. What are the trends. look like. What's the use rate. Well you don't have any such data to rely on right now. It's just a total mess. There's no It's a mess at all levels if the federal numbers don't jive with the state numbers the state the numbers don't jive with the county numbers. The private hospital sector is reporting a different way than the public hospital sector. I mean this is just chaos lawrence this problem or how fixable is. This is a problem. I know that it was a relief to a lot of people to see the list of names who have been advising the incoming president on cova thus far and we've heard sort of reassuring and science based public statements from them during the transition thus far but when they dig in and start to do this work is this a. Is this something that can be is. Is this something that can be undone. Will they have to build this from the ground up. The cdc essentially be put back in charge of this in a way that will just sort of quickly rationalize the state and make it useful again. Will rachel raw. Really anxious to see who biden is going to name as the next. Cdc director and also the next hhs director net will go a long way to helping to answer your question. What we don't really know because the transition team is only just had a few days of access to get inside the cdc. We don't really know what the state of these kinds of programs is now inside in other words. Is it all still in their computers. Are there still personnel. There could reactivate the cdc's tracking system or was it utterly dismantled. And we don't really know the answer to that question right now laura after. Get your reaction to the news tonight. Dr scott atlas has resigned from the white house. I personally was not shy about talking about the fact that i was alarmed to see him in the position that he was in the white house given his stated public views on the virus. What's your reaction to the fact that he's now resigned. It's great. I think that he had a very negative impact on affairs inside the white house. And on our national response and i'm not sure he's going to be welcome back at stanford the stanford faculty have voted to denounce him condoleeza rice his faucet. The hoover institute is indicated some dissatisfaction with his performance. The what's interesting to me is the timing. why now. why did he put out a statement today. Dated for tomorrow and i just wonder if it's in any way connected to the fact that andrews nel who was really the architect of this whole herd immunity approach for sweden Was pushed aside this weekend in sweden. As that country's death toll and case numbers have soared. And there's a strong belief in many sectors of the swedish government that listening to end. Anders was a mistake and also conversely that boris johnson finally rejected of the sort of heard immunity approach that many of his advisor to add been advocating and about three weeks ago started tough lockdowns and since they've been on three weeks of lockdown. They've seen their case load plummet by third

Dr. Scott Atlas reportedly resigns from coronavirus task force

"Special advisor to president trump on the corona virus. Dr scott atlas has stepped down just days before recipro- reassignment what to set to end on fox's tucker carlson tonight atlas talked about his disagreement with some of the coronavirus task force of reopening schools during the pandemic. Point is that we really need to open up in person schools asap because it's so destructive so harmful to children and there's really nothing more important for a country that i can think of than educating our children. Atlas joined the coronavirus task force though. He had no formal experience in public health or with infectious diseases.

The people behind tonight's 60 Minutes

"Listen to what. Chris griggs said on sixty minutes last night. There's no foreign power that is flipping votes. There's no domestic actor flipping votes. I'd better right. We did it right. This was a secure election tonight. Joe digenova who used to be in the nineteen ninety a reasonably respected washington lawyer has collapsed into the point of an i mean mentally collapsed to the point where he said tonight that chris krebs who we just saw. There should be taken out at dawn and shot Now that's the kind of thing that's going to get you disbarred. Possibly in washington dc. And who knows what's gonna be left to rig juliani law license when this is over obviously calling for someone to be shot calling for violence on someone is reprehensible and the idea is that this is part of this. This is what happens when conspiracy theories get out of hand and where you have someone like the president who is has a big bully pulpit a big powerful voice as being president of the united states amplifying and spreading conspiracy theories you have people in lockstep with the president saying crazy things now of course the president is not said that christopher crabs could be shot. That's clear at least for now but what we do know. Is that the people around president. They've all been saying things they're just simply don't make sense. I mean you think about really guiliani and saying that there are dead people voting. You think about Sidney powell saying that there's some sort of venezuelan conspiracy theory and that the venezuelans are behind. Why why the government didn't wasn't able to to have an election with integrity. All of these things are false. This idea that you're calling for christopher comes to be shot is really scary but it just the tip the iceberg so many people who find themselves on the other side of president trump we we all in some ways understand that there is there violent intent behind this you think the fact that these election workers that are just simply counting the votes simply doing their jobs. They are getting death threats. They're having to hire security to to protect themselves. These scary times. And i think that the president Some of this the bucks in some ways talks with the president and his own language but of course that person saying that christopher crevice should be shot that's of course going even farther than president. Trump has gone so we'll have to just watch that space to see what actually happens in that case a on when we look at The trump sorry the biden white house staff announcement today. A jen psaki for example as white house press secretary. That just a typifies. What we're seeing in all of these choices. Joe biden's basically going to people who have already proved they can do these jobs. And many of whom have done a version of these jobs in the past and some in the campaign. And when you imagine a jen. Psaki ron white house. Press briefing room starting january twenty first That is a return to normal. That would have been forgotten If the trump presidency had continued essentially valid point in in some respects. The hiring of jen psaki and the other people on that. Communications team is so unremarkable. Because these are just sorta standard. I'll be very accomplished. In extremely capable professionals in dc on the other hand the point of we have is this current administration which has turned the briefing room into essentially a a chance to spread donald trump propaganda. That is not tethered to reality And so what we have to do. We have to adjust our expectations. I don't want to like lower. The bar too much for gen. No she can clear it but you know we need to have a return of normalcy of backs of information a big In the briefing room. Because that's not just a chance for the president to get his word out. It's a chance for the american public to understand what the machinations of government are doing and what they're taxpayer-funded representatives are doing. And i hope that you know jen appreciates that mission reinstates it and like you said it shouldn't be a remarkable higher but there is a huge task ahead of her not just in advancing clients interest in this case the president but in restoring very either of trust that i think is instrumental to the functioning democracy quickly. Before you go you'll be in that white house. Press briefing room with jen psaki. What do you anticipate Starting january twenty first in that room for why anticipate actual briefings which we have not seen regularly with the trump administration. I expect someone who's gonna come to the pulpit and the accurate and be fair Obviously offering defenses of president-elect fighting then president biden and we're going to of course have tense exchanges. Reporters are always going to be pushing wanting more information. But i think there's going be a level of respect that has not been there in the last four years both with her treating reporters in screaming at them. Criticizing them in the way that we've seen with the trump administration you michelle cinder and sam stein. Thank you very much restoring off our discussion really appreciate it. thank you both.

This is the teddy dinner for the doctor theodore atlas foundation dinner. Were doing this. Virtually it's great to be with you tonight. Would you always find. Feel like i'm back. Espn days not quite no. I mean we're downstairs when my basement. Maybe it's appropriate to be in a shelter. It's different it's different like joe biden's presidential campaign in the basement all summer right. Big things can happen right here in the basement. You never know teddy than comparison right. This is look at the different year. We know this. This is the twenty fourth year of the teddy dinner And this is not the way we envisioned it and one of the highlights of the year is getting everybody together here on staten island. Where it's a. It's a raucous affair. I'm not used to being heard. And hey people quiet please. We don't have to do that tonight. it's just us but we miss you all. We miss everybody. But it's important that we're all here tonight and that we all give and that we help. It's not a year to give up right. It's a year that you can still help. But it's year that we're still here together and we're helping each other and we wanna help the foundation. help all the people out there so with that teddy. I know it has been a very different year. No people are shut in quarantined. A lot of people do need help. They're in their homes and they need help. What type of year hasn't been for the foundation. We lost oil fundraisers. That's good right to it. You know we. We always saw talk directly to what needs to be talked to without the people without help without the resources. foundation that continues to cap but we are empty in areas. That ah foundation can't be empty in the areas where we can put forward to things that have to be forward whether it's checks whether supplies whether it was machinery for child whether it's buying a handicapped ramp putting a handicap ad. Men for single. Mom has a sick child. Muscular dystrophy. I was just thinking of one of them You need the ability to purchase things to make those things happen. You know it starts with an idea it starts with a thought it starts from here all you guys know that i always say every year prien that yeah the name. The monica vista the atlas foundation named after pretty good. Pretty good man of 'em allowed to say that myself. If you know use my father. I always say i would have done it if i was able to. Even if he wasn't my father knowing what. I knew what he did for people for humanity but it could be everybody's name attached to it all the people that have been important in life that have made a difference in your life the people out there whether it was a father of any parent A neighbor a coach. A teacher uncle anybody that you knew was a giving person you knew. There was a person that found the way to help somebody that had matted. It's memory that's the one great thing about this foundation when we're all there together that night a thousand office with all that noise but all that emotion yeah although feelings yup and everybody has said think of that person and you given for that person for you for a for what that person made mention your life. How they how they move life how they change your life how they impacted your life for the people as fairy potty. It's a foundation we can all share and we have to do a different this year as you said so. We lost all fundraisers we lost. This is a major one but we lost the comedy night. We lost bowling night. We lost a golf outing We lost all of those things so we hope that this we need this. We need this more than ever and the funny thing about this terrible virus. That came along was that won't stripped away things. I just said some of the things of how we help. It didn't strip away the need. i wish i did. But that increased so during this time we were still able to enact new programs because we had to. We had no choice. I mean what are you going to say no. We don't say no by the way you kind of learned people do as well jumping people. Ask me well. What does the foundation do. You know what i'm talking about. Ball players to bring him down. You know go to the dinner. And i i think the simplest way of putting it. The foundation helps people. You have a need you go immediately now red tape or anything else you cut through it. You go and you help people. So what new things we doing this year. Food pantry citizens they're the most impacted the most vulnerable and the most scared can't get out of the projects can't get out of their apartments can't get out of their homes and So it made sense so we started a full pantry feeding senior citizens. Have you week since to start Menial workers people that have families people that worked there backsides. Whether it's dishwashers whether it's waiters. Whatever but they're impacted like everyone else. They've lost their. They still have bills they still have bounce to feed and guess what they don't have they don't have unemployment. They don't have government Help like everybody else like most people. Thank god right but they they fall between the cracks. All we'll take a get up and we've been taking care though. We don't scream from a mountaintop about it because a pretty flat. There's a couple of hills some way try but you know but with screaming now right. This is a chance to put that voice out there and To blow that that horn that that call to arms. Well that's what i would tell people tonight then because there have been there's virtual gal is that you have to do you know this is basically the virtual dinner event. Yes let people can still help and help the foundation and the foundation can help and you can help and you can text.

"Keep his feet away from the fence and make it happen in the center of the Octagon. If it happens there I think he's GonNa win this. Interesting Tony Ferguson. All Hartman all hard I think his technique in his. Rhythm. And cadence is is off. It's it's unusual. It's unusual timing. His movements are unorthodox. He makes a lot of mistakes, but it is believing himself carries him through a lot of tough situations. And last one D as. A fighter spider. I don't know the guy personally we. Had, you know words over social media before we were supposed to fight for once, but every time he fights I'm going to tune in, and there's something magnetic about his fighting style. That is why he has the fan base, and that he has, but I'll I'd love to. Last last one whole. Hey, value teammates got a big one coming up. He's in tough against US man who spends a minus three hundred and five dollar favorite hoyas PAT plus two forty five. What are your thoughts on the fights? short-notice fights in Abu Dhabi a lot of variables working against Mazda Vidal. But what are your thoughts i? Mean obviously you're pulling for them. Like what should we look for in that one you know? It's a short notice because he wasn't. He didn't have a contract sign, but let me tell you what this guy was there. My whole training camp was my main sparring partner. We probably put in five weeks of sparring together. He flew in wrestlers the best wrestlers in the world. I think they put him up the guys there just for George just for Macedonia us and the guy never stopped training, even when the fight fell through and gave it to burn. It was at the end of my training camp. George was still in the gym everyday like he had a fight avenue if he knew something that we didn't, but the guy was in training camp. The whole time never stopped. I think he's going to surprise a lot of people. What kind of shape he's in? His timing is going to be good because he was in the in my camp the whole time you know. Helping a few guys, not just me. He was helping a few guys. He's in invite shape I know that much. This isn't a guy coming off the couch. This is a guy who was preparing to fight youth. In the fell through and any training. Like I said I don't know if he just had a premonition, but had a feeling, but he was in the gym nonstop, so I'm excited for music, good guy and a pioneer of martial arts so great to see him. "As guys said. Almost kinda belonged to a fraternity. kind of like the Burris or the US's I know you're not out on the battlefield, and I have all the. Guys have respected special special special special blades, and they never out there and there's a good chance. They don't come home. I mean you talk about nobility being noble in Talk About Ana Oh. My I mean come on, you talk about you know giving of yourself. There's no more giving of yourself than to fight for the principles of the country for other people. To keep those principles attack to keep those freedoms attack knowing that you truly all GonNa. Give everything. You're ready to give everything that just sweat and blood but everything. But. When those guys go on a battlefield I really believe that does the next to. The code of honor that they exist with with the meant, let heart is not. One second we lost, Teddy will reconnect here real quick. Hey guys. We're good. I'm sorry. No worries wiring all my technical people. I. It can happen to anybody so. Does the I think part of. What allows those Special Special Lennon women. That sites with things that I just talked about for this country and the freedom of this country. Follow the people. I think it's connected to as I, said a cold a fraternity. The fraternity of to you know whether it's the US sales whether it's the marines for the. Army ranges the the the green berets. Whatever whatever service stone the army! that. They feel responsibility. To live up to that cold. I. think that's part of the power I. that's part of what. They. They exist on. That they attach themselves to. Maybe you could call. Some people say it's my legacy I WANNA be remembered. You know that that's a powerful state. But I believe that it's connected to that. Not letting down. You Fellow Brotherhood that this is what we are. This is how we behave. This is how we live. This is what we do. And I was just wondering if as part of that because you guys are so. Is So Samurai. Warrior oriented that I was thinking about last night when I knew I was going to talk to you and I was thinking about. That mentality has to be part. Of Your of what goes into your behavior that you wanna live up to that coat of to that, you know what that fraternity is all about. Does that make sense? Yeah it makes it makes a lot of sense. and. You know when you. When you get to this point inviting whether it be mixed martial arts boxing once you hit a certain level that you you have to. It's, it's exactly that it's. It's a fraternity I'm representing the M, but I'm also representing the sport I'm representing Combat Sports. And the purity of that. And I and I wear that you know I honor that. All it shows. It shows the has the be in a business where as teacher a for four. Obviously before. Being a fighter when I was young, but when you become a teacher. You, have to explain explain things phenomenon. Behavior. You gotta you gotTa put an attachment of explanation to it. Why does that. Why is a guy that way if you're going to be a good teacher? You know. Why is that guy behaved that way? Why does he make those choices? and. For me. That's why that's part of the why. That that is there that. It's it's you gain straits from beyond yourself. People say and has become does support really how how does a guy to come that tough and I think you draw from? More than yourself. That would we I'm trying to explain that that we that you're. That you draw from the fraternity of people that do this that. Have a cold of honor. And that you don't want the trade that code, so if you feel week, which we all do I know you, too. Sometimes, we all do will Yumin. But, then all of a sudden, you can attach it to something else. You could say I can't be week. I can't be week. Because of a week. I let down all of this. I must be strong. I think in some ways that's where Allie got his straits on. He got his strength from whatever it happens to be, but part of his beliefs was whose religion. I can't I can't let down because then I'll let down. My relationship by religion is a lot bigger than me. I took sometimes guys like. Paki out when you got a whole country Filipinos. That are really relying on you. To show. That? They mad that they exist. A bunch of a lot of poor people that are relying on you. To say that their existence mattis that their life matters that they're important, and they're touching to Mattie. Pack was just which happens. It happens those kind of. I think a guy like Paquito. Grabs Straits from that. Our from that resilience from that. Endurance from that. You're correct and I feel in a certain way when I get in there, you know. On TV is just him in there but I. I have so many people that I'm walking in there with that are depending on on. meet up to pull to those tough positions. Those tough situations because even with the foundation like I know that when I giving there when I get there. I'm using this platform to sell. These fight gets to raise money for cost all those people who noam raising this money or or or back home and I. Want to give them a reason. I'll and I can feel that I can feel the power of gratitude in of what I'm fighting for. When I'm in there. It's me against him, but it's also. Everything with me. In my younger career, it worked against me because I felt like I was fighting everything. It wasn't just my opponent I felt like I, was fighting all the other stuff, but somewhere along the line of black to learn how to block out the bad stuff in the critics. Just bring in the baggage that I need the good baggage. Leave the bad stuff. They weighs you down out it. Bring in the good stuff. The good feelings what makes me feel good, and I bring that into the fight with me I really do. I believe you. Believe you. To your point about the people that are with you, my wife will only watch fights occasionally with May, but that was one that she was pumped up. She would watch. Alex Vase Dick when Teddy and I will with them Philly and she watched that one with the kids and I mean the whole family was going crazy for you. Starting in that third round building to a crescendo in the end, so well done to I wanna be sensitive. Time and I WANNA make sure teddy doesn't have anything, but I wanted to just ask you a couple of quick questions. If you don't mind, then you could just give quick answers. In the Khabib fight, and then again in this hooker fight a couple of times you had the super tight in an arm in Guillotine, and I was like Oh, he might get this and I. think that the announcer started to get into it, but maybe talk about how hard it is to get someone that I get someone in that choke in a fight versus in training because I think in training the. The relax, the feeling is all. That's pretty tight, I. I might hurt my neck, trying to get out of this so I'll tap, but in a fight. Someone's like no I'm not gonNA tap unless I'm out from this. Can you talk about what's going through your mind because it seems so close, but it always seems so hard to really finish it that way. It seems so close, but so far away. I. Finished it all the time in the gym in trading. In practice, but like my Mike Brown told me. Don't jump another team I mean. We gave up -sition. It could be fight that led. Just, eat tells me all the time. Don't do it, but finish him in the gym. I finish them all the time in the gym. Nine hundred ten, I'm probably finishing the gym I have a good guilty, but when in the heat of the moment, but then again we're talking about like Alan Iverson. We're talking about practice at the sport that I would give life to. We're talking about practice and. It's a totally different thing under those lights. It's a totally different thing. These guys. To the to the bitter in. There's blood and sweat. You know it's just less learn I won't do it again. I'm not jumping to guilty. Just going to give you a couple of names of fighters, just quick thoughts just engage he i. think I beat him again I think I set traps him with good shots. Let Him. Do half the work being the wrecking ball and Juggernaut that he is. Let him be that guy and I'll be the matador I can. Do it again as I. Did the first fight, but we'll see. He's finding could be next I. think he has a wrestling credentials to give be a lot of trouble if he can get stick to the game plan and keep us back over the fence..

"Open mind learning the want to continue to evolve. That's what keeps you there. That's what keeps. You keeps you the dancing one. Hundred percent. Speaking to some of the intangibles, let's talk about intangibles. Let's let's be quickly about the good fight foundation, and that's another thing that you in Teddy have in common. You guys actually very similar in a lot of ways. Teddy as with the Doctor Atlas Foundation, but I WANNA talk to you about your the good good fight foundation, and what you guys are doing I know you had an event down in Lafayette, but maybe just for people who might not be aware of the foundation. Maybe just a quick overview of how it got started in some of the work. You guys may have been doing. We've. I mean the things we've done. The list goes on and on most recently we. Built Water Wells. In Africa. bought the pygmy tribe forty two acres of land this last fight. We're raising money. We're using this fight. Kid I actually just listening today. The good foundation shared on other social media, and I did as well. We auctioned off my fight one year from every fight to go forward towards a 'cause usually in the local community in Louisiana and. We're going to do a back to school. Dr Everyone's feeling the crunch of the of the ended. In kids should have hot lunches at school and in all the school supplies they need. We're GONNA make sure that the kids in Lafayette Louisiana have that going back to school. So the self of this kid is going to go towards our back to A. Great, thing nice work. For people who are interested, it's the good fight group Dot com you can find all the information there like dust, and said on his social media channels you can find links to the bid and Robin I will be submitting a bid today for those for those gloves and make sure that they go for the right price but that's great work that you're doing attending I. Know You. You can relate to the kind of effort that it takes to Put your money where your mouth is and actually get involved in these types of grassroot foundations. Where you're actually you don't have any overhead. You're on in doing ninety percent of the work yourself. Maybe we'll one or two full time employees, but the rest of it is volunteer or sweat equity from the people involved. To. I mean that's of what I respect. You know from Dawson with. Use another term another. Another word I used the word dependable as a great great great trade. That can get you to places that some people might have more talent than you physical genetic talent. But dependability can get you even past that talent. That's how important and magnificent that trait can't be at is in life and editing. And the word used for Dustin. At what it takes to be the kind of human being that he's talking about. This the word cat. Just cat. It's not much more complicated than that. You can't about something about people about situations. And then you figure out a way to do it so. I just want to. Tell you that my foundations going to send three thousand dollar. Check to you foundation. After we hang up the in. You Know I. Wish it was more but. It'll be used to help towards southern things you just. Thank. You so much man that that's. A, huge donation that's GonNa go far, and and we appreciate it so much nonce. Thank you, thank you so. Given I. Mean I when I started my foundation. One of the most important things once we got started was to know. that. We could identify the the places to get the help, too. That's pretty damn and. You know it's Kinda like I talk about everything being fighting right. It's kind of like having Powell, but if you don't. Have a target the limited so. What good is the power? So what good is the help that I've? Foundation is data give if I don't have the right target to get it to the right place, so you give me that right place so of those places so i. just want to say thank you for that. It really does it does I wanna ask you one of the last states? Being at this business so mental. You do sometimes need to attach yourself to. The something to go through that journey to the dog place that fire. To that suffering. and. I mean you could use a lot of words. You know. Fly. In a hot..

He touched job Tom. And then he'd bring it right down up. And Eddie doing it just enough to racial just a little bit. We can get that shit so again. Here's a tough guy. and. We're talking about his toughness obviously. But His intellect his smarts. Allowed that punch to be so effective. Exactly I, mean exactly it's. It's the. The shot top IT brings the. It opens deliver. It is the subtleties in between the power shot. A lot of these guys are tough. and Can Punch, but if you can. Make make make you make mistakes set traps, those hard punches. Nothing and you talked about earlier. So much business would would. Make it pretty available right now, but. Again, it's it's. Intellect the technique. Toughness the mindset. And, it's the ability to be calm in an on call place. Here's a guy who would get hit you know you it punches, and in the midst of a difficult fight of an incredibly difficult fight. He's able to still keep his wits. Not Panning. I mean there's an ability to that. There's this there's a tangible ability a developed ability. A genius of your will yeah I'd say. Yeah, I'm not afraid to say a genius that you guys can stay. Calm it a completely on Com digging place. And still keep your whips where in the midst of that storm. You think in terms that you have to think. To turn it around. That special. that it perfectly again, a developed skill. You don't do that by accident. You don't you don't do that because you're just born that way you do that. You develop that you developed. To stay in the eye of that storm and find that opening. And that's what people can learn. With you that I always say on ESPN, I would always say. Hunches! Abortion than I've made yet that talent you're born with natural humans evaluated increase it by technique and be com where tired time the guy at the right time they don't see the punch coming and had proven no doubt about, but as far as that Schule. Powell that only certain people have that's four. That's not me, but what is made. Is what you're talking about. Developing the person's character. DEVELOPMENT THAT MINDSET! That toughness. That ability people think Oh. He was just born with hot. What is hot? What is hot? I mean the real definition. Heart is a muscle you, jess. But the way that we talk about it, it's that's not how we talk about it. It's your ability to make choices your ability to make decisions. You ability to go where the people go your billy Joel Daw. Your ability to find a way. That and all the people listening out that. Look this man, listen to this man that develops no no. That has developed. It has been developed. Speak About that here. I mean! You said it earlier I'm trying to you, said something earlier that ties into this. But finding his life. What did you go to in your life? What have you overcome to put you in this place that allows you to give more than this man to push the water to dig deeper to suffer more. I use that word fight week that I plan to suffer more than this guy. Because I've been there before. No I can overcome those positions those those rounds, those first two rounds I can suffer more. I just can't I know that but I. Don't know. I wasn't born that way I. Don't know what. Moments of my life led to that strip, but I haven't and I. Know it and I don't WanNa. Show it because if I show it, it's it's. It's a tough fight, but I. Know I can rely on that safe Abbas. Safety Net that I count on of toughness of grid that has been developed over fighting. Over. My Life. You know fighting his life and I'll show you that I've been down before and then I know. I can come up again. That's that's what I'm doing in those around. What what are the greatest qualities? Traits. Abilities. I believe that a human being can have. In whatever they do. is to have the ability to be dependable. You know we all look at the NEON talents. You know the speed the power. You know all that stuff. We catches all attention I. Get, I have to say and you know it's. It's kind of A. But that ability. Is Ability doesn't matter what your genetic saw. Genetics beyond they go, but that doesn't matter. That's something everybody can get and be called. The. And, that's great quality, and that's why in boxing an intimate. It's tougher to stay at the top than it is to get there because those other things you talked to. Speed Genetics That'll get you to the dance. it..

"That, you, I'm sure you've my a lot of, but you look at. Your Business, but that you admire his style is technique whatever it is about him, but maybe that you. You Watch. To pick up some of the striking, you know stuff that you obviously are going to take into the right. There's a bunch of guys that I like to watch more of this. Fill out of time. Watching up, whitaker was he talked about being smart. Start moving ahead like yeah. He had he had good, that's. Sweeping was sweet. Who is a great journey? was a he really wasn't a terrific. But what a really was sweet and a lot of ways boy! Oh, boy died young. But credible. Dozen you're picking the right guy. The Old Times would say he'd stay right in front of you and you couldn't hit him in the back side with a head full of Buckshot right. I mean. I'm glad to hear that guy i. mean you just made me happy when you swing? Imagine it by feel good. Surprise but That's still look at south for Joel. I see connection, but that's the guy to move your head to be smart to be calm site to storm the the being a the eye of the song he could, he was the perfect example that Oh, my gosh, here's the example that he's say inside the pocket right as is I store, and see everything and the call, and they had to punch and cited I saw you little something in a fight. I saw you. Hook was throwing, and he stayed there a little too long. That's one of the sciences of boxing so many elements of the science of striking. But what! We talked about moving at the punch. Though don't wait for Z. Whatever you WANNA. Call it, but another one is. Being Common. And other stating that everyone loves to say Jomo Punches Dog Punches. ADDS to. Logo, but that can be the worst thing in the world. Sometimes you gotTa, know, how many you have time for do I times of day left time for five. Maybe I only have time for one better move. Because you stay there for one too many, you could get tired. You did that I. Watched I watched you where he stayed there. Little jewel is hands off. They're probably probably one point too long, and you've tried it right in the middle of that US. You make back as you can, still there in the center, a little too long punching and yet timed. And that was I just wanted to tell you that I. I saw that I'd appreciate it that I saw the science of. Wasn't a toughness. Was the science that you realize. He stayed there too long and you catch him if you had punched at the right time with. Thank you thank you so much, yeah? Becoming a trade I'm sorry. There's those beautiful moments in the fight where you like. You said he stayed longer. Take another step when you should and a guy can split your timing and get away with a clean shot escape free just hit a move out of there and you did have to work. Very true just like. Don't true sounds like being a good budget you know. You've got an what's aggressive stipple. Say Oh. Wow, this guy decides that you'd better be careful, but if these recklessly grasso. Without talking about he's doing. He's doing your workflow. You all, thank you, thank you. Walk Ed Walk in. Good, thank you. So that's having so many. Dimensions that separate guys in his business we're talking about. As much as it's so easy to talk about the topic, you guys. But it's the other our, but still. That's the science over. One of the Guys Dad's probably going to be disappointed to hear you mentioned in terms of in terms of boxers is the Great Irish Micky Ward I know he's a huge fan of yours and. Maybe you take pernell Whitaker's defensive technical skills with Mickey Woods toughness make really appreciates your. Fighting style, and he had a lot of Nice things to say about your recent effort against hooker. Man I'm to fan. Just you know he's one of the guys I respect, Mickey. Mickey's career more than a guy who who's never lost the fight more than a guy who's fifty all. I feel like there's lessons you learn when you get those losses in your career and keep pushing. That of fighting the SME, Micky Ward losing these fights people calling him a journeyman at getting involved in in the best trilogy in boxing history. You know one of the one of the best trilogy of boxing. The guy's does so many things well I really like this guy man I really from a fan won the meanest liver shots. Tough as they come, I actually have. The picture God forbid we had signed and. I'm framing I actually. went to a sports memorabilia place in and got a signature as well so I'm framing this together where they belong Mickey and Gotti and. "It's difficult, but. Also man. How much of a tragedy is that? Is it that one day you walk away from it and you'd never feel that feeling again. A do it as long as you could do it. That's why you got. Embrace it because there's something special about that man. There really is something special figure that doing it as long as you could do with enough enough. This I've always had thirty five in my head. I still have thirty one now I feel good. We'll see. But I don't WanNa. Give I like I said in the area of you want to give this sport or More myself than I can give my family I. Don't WanNa lose something that I can't get back and win and we don't know when that. When that line is crossed, we don't know. So I, just want to continue working on my defense. I WANNA be defensively. Every time I step on the Mat. You know. Last last weekend wasn't the greatest. Showing up that I took shots I took a Lotta pictures waiting for a receipt. In the there's another lesson. Learn you know I'm better than that. My coach told me between rounds Domi after the fight. Same thing you said. You'd better than that. You'd better than this guy. You're fighting on his level. You're you're admiring your own work. Just because. No posing exactly band now I mean they're taking an instagram picks. I. I always say that. When you get. TO TOUGH GUYS! You know it's a prerequisite in your business. At Mike does is to be tough. That there's levels of toughness. Tested that you go through to find out just like you know defendant life. You find that people about people. Food tests some some. They can't pass that test. For me fighting is like is the same day. and. You know and you go. You go take fighter and like I said. It's a prerequisite to be tough. But what level to what tests to to where the drop off? But then when you have two guys who comfortably to say, save toughness. And One and is what we're talking about does. Your coach about and one of them is smarter. You know technically in all those areas. He's smarter. He suddenly goes here. He becomes twice as off the other guy. Say. What do you need Ted you just set the vote justice off. Yeah, I know what I said, but this guy who's also smart becomes twice as tough. because. He doesn't have to depend. Just on the toughest. He doesn't have to go to that all the time he doesn't even have. It's therefore it's always there. But. His cleverness, his ability to be technically more sounds smarter. Separates him from a guy who's just tough. and. I would think that your quest. You coaches. Yes, yes. The toughness is something we know that I have it's not something I want to display every time out. This is something that I need to keep for for for myself when I absolutely need it not to walk out there and show the world. How tough I am! That's not the sport I. WanNa Find. WanNa show about. Joke around I say he's like Min just off the wall. I? Mean it coming over that war and you gotTA. Keep coming all you gotta say say that Hell Laddy. Get outta here. And It's all motion the doormat. As all metal, and I just thought that Dean that vacuum. I guess that's the right way to say. You kinda poured a lot of that stuff out. Big Time you know, Blake. Imagination man so it never stops. The wheels never stopped turning I. I'm trying my best as before to my career. It's not over this, but it's just. It's impossible for me. Because I think so much, I do care about this so much. And I know no matter how much I prepare. How much I studied that there was a chance that I might lose. Everything ago right and I can still there Louis because it is a theater of the unknown under those lights out there and I know that. And I've I've won fights. I've lost fights. When I was one hundred percent prepare. I know anything can happen out there so just that unknown is what really gets those butterflies. It's the overthinking in the locker. Room I can do ten weeks of training camp and kill and crush it every day. Check all the boxes and show up on night, and still like Oh man. I don't know what's going to happen out there. I'M GONNA do I'M GONNA. Give it my all every time. You know that that never goes away. Not Having. Fans Took a little bit of that edge off one hundred percent did. Is a fragile business. I know that you guys the toughest son of a B.'s. I have nothing but respectfully. And fighters my business at that level. But it's a funny word to call would such tough people. But, it's a fact for business because you get into brick lockable. Most of the fans out there listening right now. I'm not knocking you. You just haven't done it, you probably saying. What does he talk, but you can get in the locker room and you lose. You go head! No punches withdrawal, not one punch withdrawal. Lows so the mental side of it. I want to add one thing here does. I know my business. I WANNA to get a fighter call where he can see more calm in an on com place. Calm in a place with this fight. It's not a natural thing. It's not I mean usually natured to get the hell out of that. When solved dangerous not to go age. So here you are, you're in there. You gotta be calm. In A. Place where you can see instead of one way to to deceit headways center with tentative and punches. You but at the same time here we go now, here's the fine line. You don't WanNa. Get comfortable because you get comfortable. I don't people to say. What are you out of your mind? You just said you gotta be comped. said he can't be comfortable but I. Want you to address because if you get comfortable. It would be like being a lion team as you indicate little lion. You Want Calm Post Civil Candy on. You would. Be Calm. And Zinc can see what the lights on. You can't get called the bowl because it's fall lying. Those nerves and those nerves and those feelings never go away. You know they just when they come you. You're just more acquainted with them us. Acknowledged them when you feel it in the locker room for me when they come in, and they say you walk in five minutes and I can hear the people outside I can see fighters coming back in from the battlefield. I can see the bloodied in. You. Know your teammates carrying them back to the locker room. All this is happening before you make the walk yourself knowing that you're walking into the known. Right knowing that you have to be brave in this moment you prepare. To Take that step out the door and walk in front of all those people and fight this management training to beat you up. You know that that's A. It's a weird uncomfortable. Calm that I feel! Because I know I can count on myself because I've proven time and time again. I know I can right this ship. If this thing gets ugly in there, I have that confidence in in my fighting ability and myself to be resilient to push through adversity presents itself to find the opening I know that it's like it's like a hurricane. "His patients I. thought that's one of his best weapons of the guy has great patience. Doesn't force things. Put himself in bad positions being overzealous. That's a superpower, but he has patients very simple. Beria overlooked he just patient he likes. These guys make mistakes and capitalize. It might not be in the first round. It might be in the third, but he lets you make mistakes and he stays patient. And? That's what I wanted to do. I wanted to match that with Joe Him I've been in there in the fourth in the fifth round more than him, a more season, and I can be patient when things really uncomfortable. And I knew that there was gonna be a tipping point in the fight where I started to pull away, and when I did that, I didn't think he would be able to catch up and I. think that's what happened every round. That was just shifting into gear that he didn't have. He was maxed out and apple away. Draw a shift. To another year each round and he just did not keep up the speed. Keep up the work. That I agree that. I. Thought You lost the first round I told you will win in the second and then as can said. Got Away from you I thought. I thought. Hulkah- did a little bit of sugar. Ray It what he did on Hagley stalled around. A little bit you know. It's the trickle fighters that are you can still around the judges remember that more than remember the beginning of the route so all the middle. Though I felt a little bit like that actually when I was watching it. And there's a thin line sometimes between being patient of being a slow starter. and. Sometimes. You gotTA balance that. Sometimes. You seem to get started out of the gate a little slow. Is that fact. Specter opinion I think sometimes inside night. Okay, for sure, definitely the headlight. Because I've definitely come out guns blazing too early before as well. It's a fine back. I feel like it's ever evolving. Every fight is different every ah! Yeah! It's a constant balance and I'm trying to find him. Just see that night. Listened to you talk. That everything is mental in his business and in my business, and it just seemed that you might have been thinking about being patient. Ended kind of. Kind of morphed into something else house into. Way? Getting into a slow start that that it. Took you there without meeting to take you there. Because the tattoos, the right intention. To be on the control. Eighty percents to me at least. Seventy five eighty percent of this business that we do. Is Battle. Did, everybody is talk. Matt Man, but I'm going to say, but everyone is talked about the elements or the lack of the element of the fans now with the covent virus. And? For me. I mean you perform? Brilliantly specially down the stretch. And I'm just wondering if. A guy like you. All these gladiators. If. If. It helps in a way. I know most people going to say Teddy. Talking about, but It most people think it's a negative I. Look at it as It could be a positive because it removes the some of the emotional element. Promotional flickinger elements to deal with. You know where. Eighty percent of it is that and now you take the fans out of it. You may get cold a you make you make it quiet. You make it just what it has to Bait. And so as you remove the imagination, because the imagination is, what does all the damaged people in my business is that it makes you start? Taking this could happen. That could happen. There's no ceiling. There's no control but the reality of what can happen. Control it can only be this all this. It can't be more than that. That's the reality of. And the imagination so some of that emotional. Stuff. I feel might be removed with no audience, and it just becomes here we are. Something I've done before something I'd prepared for my whole life. That's all it is. It's nothing else. That makes sense it does and your both. Your head on, if if I can fight the rest of my career with no crowd, I would do it. That's how focused and good I felt. If pure so Michael was walking into a sparring session the gym with my coaches. Of course, the butt of president emotions are there. Fistfights one, but it's a completely different thing. It's a completely different thing from the walkout from the warm up from standing across looking at my opponent felt more pure, it felt like the only guys in there and we were going. GonNa find out who was better right now and I feel like I'm better than these guys, so it was just I felt in my element, if I can fight this way the rest of my career. Oh, man, but as soon as the bell rang you. Kinda shook your head like. Let's get back in there and get like I really believed like. Oh, he shook that off. Whereas someone else might think. Oh, no, this is going the wrong way and you turn to like the whole fight around in in between the second and third round. Can you talk about a little bit about what you would think? And at the end of that round and what you told yourself to get back to right the ship, because it was a dramatic change of momentum in the third round. A great quarter boxing coach. Davis is very calm. level-headed speaks very well to me very clearly in between rounds. Any, he told me I'm being lazy. Get hit with shots I should beginning with. You know even in those first two rounds I felt pretty good, but he was edging the up. You know he was winning around like you said at the end of the second year with a few shots in hidden with a neat that really hurt me and then when I went, sit back on. I knew I had that long. Things don't control you. That it's your choice of what you do has ever happened to you. I'm sure it. Added up to me. The guy you know just lessons over the years and years of fighting and years and years of just living that made me get to this point, but I can't say. I hadn't really one Eureka moment where everything turned around for me. But for sure a big part of progressing in fighting for me is sitting back and realizing that fighting just part of my life. You know it used to be everything to me. It used to be life or death every time I walked out there every time. I've thought about it. What the critics said I was. You know I over. Think everything everyone said and. After a certain point it was just this is just fighting. This is just part of my life. This isn't. Everything. I have to offer when I put in. Those kind of perspective is when I think about me. Being the father knew being husband being. Fighting's stopped one day. You. Know it really helps me out. When I get in there I can have a lot more fun with this. It feels like awaits off my back and I could really I feel like fight to my potential. Because finding a stressful, but it just takes a little bit of that. Offer me it really does. This is just something I. Do you know Dustin I just wanted to one site. That! I'll go. I'll tell you what's in my mind. There was a kid. Coming up years ago, jump good good fighter. But what? He was at an early stage. workup with of really good fighter. He got dropped in a gym. And, it was nobody in the gym. It, was only heaven as coaches. Coaches the other guy that culture him. and. The other guy was more experienced and he dropped them again. Nobody stopped. Nobody, said okay it's too much. Come back tomorrow. It just kept going on. And finally I know that sounds crazy to most people. But he realized that he didn't have to get dropped anymore. That he was allowed himself to be drop. that. He was that he was. It has control. What happened. That he was allowed to happen. And from that day forward, he never got. When. He, never got he. He never allowed himself. To give into that impulse of giving it. Does that make sense. It does it makes a lot of sense, and I just wondered if you have a had a fight. In early on or whatever point in your career that you just realize in that fight lady. That hey. I. I control what happens. I. I sometimes. Don't realize what I can do. Or what I can handle I realized. ALL SUDDEN BACK I could forget handle this. I. I know sounds so simplistic, but you know. I sometimes use story with. George Foreman with what he thought. The great my Alec and he came in to be honest. He gave did in the trial and. He. He got hit right here. But he was a level of submission. He lured not fight because when he came back years later. He was Baker. He wasn't as SAS. You listen to said let it was a lot, but. He would've kicked in crop out of the first George. Form he would've stopped. because. He was tougher he. He understood that on that night he gave up control. It was ripped out of like uncomfortable way. So you go into the guy's chest and you take hot out and you hold it in your head. That that was it was this? was in here. It was in here that they really believed that he no longer had control of what he did. had. Wasn't Joe. That's all. I know exactly what you mean. And I go through moments like that in training camp every training camp. We're on there and I have a bad round sparring, or and have a bad wrestling session, and then I kind of. On the way on the drive home or on the drive back to the Jim the next day. I'm like today. I'm not sure enough to be part of a training session shown up to to thrive I'm showing up to a set milestones and I. Make my intention before I walk into the gym and don't let that happen that day and when I do set my mind like that. It's a it's a completely different thing. We're doing in there when I'm here. In the moment, I felt like your career. Maybe I have to credit aerial Awani. beat me to the Punch today with your interview, but I've been meaning to ask you if you thought that your career seemed to take a different. Get to the places that you guys wind up getting yourself still so you're not only give us drama and good feeder something to wise good sport. But you, do you teach us that? You can find. "I think it was the right decision he probably can't see that and I can't blame them because he wouldn't be who he is because see it he wouldn't be who he is but to make that accusation. You gotta believe that he either really thinks that or the. It was true because I just can't see a guy with that kind of reputation making such an outrageous really thinks it. I just think along the lines of what I was saying. That's my feeling is that he just can't his ego can't by the fact that that he couldn't get up because it is mighty could get up and he's probably he could get up but that doesn't mean that the referee didn't do the right thing. Yeah exactly that does because everybody's looking at how affected he is. How packed it. He was for the punches. He might be able to get up and then get hit and get really hurt so but in his mind I could see him with his belief in with the with the way I thought that he has with the greatness inside himself that allowed him to go ten years without losing Ken that he just can't accept that. Yeah anything that and I get it I get it. But that doesn't mean he's right about the REF. Yeah well it was. It was an impressive performance by pseudo who now After the fight announced his retirement. Who will go out on top as the Champ of two weight divisions and with his Olympic gold medal in wrestling and that brings us to the To the main event Tony Ferguson. Just engage he just engage. You only two losses by the way one of them to a friend of the show dust in Pori and the other two Eddie Alvarez. I spoke with dust emporia before this event and he told me In the Co main the main he likes to. Hudo ENGAGE ENGAGE. He was almost two to one underdog and I happen to agree with them But in in for the rectus than said after the fight albeit gauge again just Please let Teddy No But this fight was all action. Super entertaining lived up to all the hype. Incredible performance by just engage. He I think he showed an incredible ability to get better and get smarter because he was known known as an all action. Fighter got hit a lot and one of the things he said after the fight was that in going back and working with his trainer. He's basically trying to remedy the problems. He was with getting hit so much. And it looks like he's done it because Ferguson is known as being a ferocious striker and I love this fight. Every minute of it was unbelievable. Both guys with damage obviously Ferguson. A lot more than gauge. He bought what did you think of. This one was suppose how special poor areas that he beat this guy really. Yeah I mean he's a champion again Pori. I have no doubt about that but having said that. That's that's my feeling you know Some haters out. There might say some about that too. That's okay It'd be a hell of a fight though. Maybe that's what I should start by saying I pay for that I pay for that styles styles. They're both terrific strikers. I liked that you know Good punches could strike. Us always position balanced position to strike. You know. That's that's what are the complements. Give great of boxer in nowy in a way. The Japanese FIDO's the monster. That's won the title sewer early. So few fights and in so many divisions can One of his greatest Straits is that he's always balanced. He's always set. He's always he's never out of position when he throws a punch but having said that I will start by saying boy. These guys are tough. I say it again boy. These guys are tough. I'll say one more time boy. These guys are tough and but having said that man can if you take a rock a rock is pretty hard to hurt if you take a rock a big rock abodes baby and you crack it with a sledgehammer. It doesn't extraordinary so doesn't doesn't split. Two dozen doesn't crack. It doesn't breakoff. And you crack crack crack it and nothing happens the come back the next day crack it new crack it with a sledgehammer and nothing happens and then one day you come back and you just lean on it and a piece falls off kind of liked to jab at the end of the night hurting this courageous warrior as like a call Just just a a savary a warrior. Gladiator you pick your choice. And obviously I'm talking about Ferguson. And at the end you know he was gone but it's because he the rock kept getting hit sooner or later it's going to show even what is not showing it's having an impact. Something is loosening up. Something is happening. Nobody no man is a rock onto himself in true terms philosophically. Whatever way you want to physically and that is what took place but again the parallels my sport this sport when I was commentating for those years with ESPN same thing. It's one thing to be tough as another thing. Who's the smarter guy and that was gay cheesy and I'm not taking not tonight. I Love Ferguson. How did you learn love? I spent the whole beginning of this broadcast talking about men like him so of course I love him but I love h e to that. He's ready to. He's ready to to die. He said that after the fight he said I went in here. Ready to die. I you know what I don't use. We believe guys when he say I believe he's guys when they say that for that moment for that moment they get themselves there. I believe him I believe him. How else could you perform the way? How else can you leave everything outside the door that you have to leave outside the door take about what I'm saying? You gotta leave stuff outside the door human stuff to go in there. Ready to deal with what these guys deal with. You got to leave it outside the door if you think about living. You won't have to do it. I know that some people Who Anyway Yeah. I'm GonNa tell you a story. Obviously it's not as severe but it gets to the point custom model the greatest for me. The my mental. Psychologically everything technically the dedicated his whole life to sport. We just did our podcast on him Last week so people haven't seen it. If you feel like you can see it. And he special man understood his realm. There's realm and how it attached to this to this Rome. This is the general. This is just the troops and he told me he was going to go in the army. You know he too had been Trafton I guess and he was getting ready to go in the army so you know what his first thing that he did. He didn't write a letter. He didn't say goodbye to people he did start doing that. You know that could be your first thing or you could start packing. But first thing he did he started sleeping on the floor. He stops sleeping on a bed. Why because he said he had to stop being comfortable with the things that make us comfortable. That's to not allow us to be ready to do certain things like die. He said in his mind up going in the army supposedly back in those days going in. There's only one thing I gotta be prepared to die said you know. I don't want to hate him. Why did I wasn't gonNA go run out into the field? Say shoot me but he in his mind. He was talking to his young trainer. Who wanted to be a good trainer and he said Teddy. I that that's how I prepared for it so it's hard to die if you live in comfortably because you don't WanNa lose those things you human so I got rid of them one by one. I started getting rid of all the things that made it comfortable to live. That made me WanNa live like a comfortable mattress and I slept on a floor to condition myself and I believe these guys to the same thing. I believe to get ready to go in that ring. They have to be ready in their mind. Just like customers getting ready for the army to die to they. WanNa die of course not but they have to have that mentality to perform at the level that we watch and I spent twenty minutes at the beginning of his podcasts. Trying to give them that just a respect for for people appreciate what they truly do and how they do it. They have to prepare themselves and they have to give up comforts of things and thinking of things that would not allow them to be prepared to die..

"Trying to get emotions out of a man like that was maddening. was impossible drove my mother to drink and meet to do the things I did. I was in my teens when I started hanging out with the kids down to L. When Stapleton which was a rough section of town there were housing projects down there a needle parkway all the drug dealers hung out and plenty of ways to get yourself into the trouble. I was still trying to get my father's detention but in a different way then when I'd gone out on house calls with them a much angrier way I dunno lovie was aware of the extent of it but I was cutting school lot for a while. He used to force me to get up in the morning and he'd drive me to school before he went to work. Maybe didn't have the time or the patience to be a real parent and get involved in a more active way. He thought if he made me go the rest will take care of itself Alf. He didn't understand what was more to it. He didn't understand that as a parent. It took more than thrown a glass award on your son in the morning. When he didn't wake up he should have known? Something was wrong on a deeper level as a dog. They certainly knew that he had to do more than inject medicine into a patient that he had to take time to talk to people to help them recover. But as a parent he just didn't get that halfway through my senior year in nineteen seventy four or nineteen. Seventy five. I stopped going to school entirely Kylie. I dropped out. I was hanging around with the Sullivan Brothers Down Stapleton. I'd met Genie Sullivan. I who's about my age with I was gifted Gab. And funny always making people laugh one time. He and I stole these little Manila envelopes from a stationery store and filled them with Oregano. Then we stood on the corner sonum as nickel bags of marijuana. We were so stupid we stayed on the same block vows to eventually some of the guys who sold them to Oh came back. I mean we were standing at three hours later in the exact same spot and is called for Puerto Rican guys drove off and a drive through the Manila the envelope and genie's face who you guys think backing him up and by then I'd already developed something of a reputation. A street fighter smiled and said what's the matter wasn't any good. Don't you know you have to put it on a sausage before you cook it. These guys went nuts. One Rhythm got out of the corner came at me. I wound up deck. We will just lucky. They didn't have guns laid on. I got to be friends with genie's brothers there were five of them altogether and even kinda opted me even though they were screwed up in various ways drugs and alcohol and other things they will family they would together. How was it seeing the problems just seeing that they were family over time? I got really close to Billy Sullivan. Who was about eight years older than me? Twenty twenty five or twenty six and a wife name Linden two young kids and Jersey. Billy was as skinny guy sharp dresser very charismatic and likable. He knew his way around. He taught me stuff like craps blackjack he had all odds down new all the numbers and was impressed by that. We played craps APPS with guys in a street. Billy was also very good poor play. I was pretty good but he was very good and we go into Baas hustle money that way though all the things is that drew me to him. He had a good singing voice. I I love to hear him sing under the boardwalk. We'd be in a bar and I play it on a jukebox and get him. I'm to sing along with it. I say Sing Billy and he would. He got a kick out of the fact that I like to sing for anyone in the Baden. Appreciated as much as I did I tell them you better start clapping and smiling against the fuck out here. I looked up to billy when I think about it. Now I can see was giving me something and I wasn't getting at home kind of interest and attention that I was stalled for. It wasn't just a criminal either. There was this other side to him. He coached a little league league team stapleton and he has to come down and watch so I want one day in every was steadily the third base coach box wearing a uniform talking to the kids when he saw me he winked. Never forget that it had an effect on me cinnamon that setting watching him with those kids. Of course he had to play the tough guy too so he said to me. I wish there was a line on his fucking game. My father mother knew I dropped out of school but they didn't say anything to me about it. Things would tense at home. I was heading in a bad direction. They knew it or sort of know it but they weren't doing anything or saying anything. Anyway stay away from them as much as I could for awhile at Crescent Jersey with billy and his wife and kids. His wife was pretty and blonde but the marriage was up and down he was robbing and stealing. And he had lots of bad habits on top of that chasing women drinking and gambling there was a pretty Spanish vanish girl about my age with big breasts. WHO's babysitting their kids? Billy wanted a banger but it was too difficult was his wife now so he told me I I should. I actually did wind up messing around with a I think he got a kick out of that. I mean he seemed like a cool tough customer but on the inside he was just a wounded kid. Who need someone like me looking up to him? I recognize that about him even at that time because I identified with most of the things billy did was self destructive. He never really heard anyone else why we stay in touch with him. We broke into place in the middle of the night and robbed it. Boy Boy always had some Schema plan. All we have to do is break through this cinderblock wall and will be in the back room to store where they keep the night's receipts so there we were in his back alley with all these tools. screwdrivers crow laws to all kinds of tools really trying to hack and Chisel away through this wall it took hours and one point billy whacked by hand with a slap Hamma and has started to swell up. When we finally quote? Truth is miniscule hall. We've made it was like a scene from a movie. We were in the wrong place. WHO's a grocery store but fuck it? We robbed at anyway. We took food and soda and I guess they had a little little bit of money to I mean. I don't even remember what we got but we got something. Billy was always deep into the book. He's always on the run from them. I gave my share of takes so he could pay them off the really funny part. Is that the cops actually tracked down the next day and questions about it. They didn't think we did it but they thought so. We might know something they said. Whoever did it they were professionals? They bypassed the wires in a war without setting off the alarm. That's why we know couldn't be you fucking idiots when they left. I said Billy there will. Why isn't a wall? You didn't tell me why isn't wall. He was dying laughing. That cop was looking right at you. Swollen swollen head saying no way we could possibly have done it. And we're the fucking idiots one night billy got a gun and we decided to rob a bar in stapleton. Listen wasn't really as premeditated as that. Sounds who would just look do something. And that's what we settled on. I didn't even know why I was doing the stuff billy knew what he was doing. He was Robina. Baugh me I was just trying to fit in with them. I saw him as someone who cared about me and I wanted. Let's show him that I was worthy. Anyway we went into this bar on Bay Street and we were there for a while drinking playing pool in a back room and plotting on next move. This is what I mean. It wasn't even a plan. We would just try to figure out what we were going to do. We knew we wanted to do something. Should we rob this conjoint going to what it's still early. Let get a little more cash than it till make it worthwhile while we were discussing it. This Guy Robert Holder showed up picked up a pool cue and joined us. I knew a little his brother dollars had been involved with wise guys got arrested then flipped and ended up going into the witness protection program. This this was back in the days when the witness protection program wasn't as full as it is today now. It's like the Holiday Inn you can't get in but in those days it meant something it was. It's like wow the guy fucking disappeared. He ratted out the wise guys and now he's gone anyway. Billy led his guy hold and know what we were doing that we had a gun. And we're GONNA rob the place. I don't know what he was thinking because this guy whose brother was a rat didn't even particularly light. Billy when hold a went off to the bathroom it to my said what the Hell you don't ads so K.. Billy said Oh about it come on. I'll buy you another drink. It was screwed up. If you'RE GONNA rob a place shirow at twenty minutes later we was still bullshitting around when cops came in. We were in the back room. They wouldn't affront but we could see them shake and people without looking around moving direction. That motherfucker billy said he gave us up. You Sound surprised. Shit the gun give it to me. They're gonNA nell steady. Giving the gun and have moment. Billy looked very weak to me just a scared kid. Recent news waistband. And I took the gun against C- he wasn't going to be able to handle going to jail. What are you doing? He said but he didn't really try to stop me when cops came into the back room they frisked me and found the gun. They wound up running his Bolton and taking pictures fingerprints whole bit. My bail was set at five thousand dollars for the gunshots. But they lead billy out on his zone cognizance his crazy thing. My father bailed me out the next day and two nights later I was down in Stapleton again looking for trouble I mean really really looking. I hooked up with another friend of mine his time. A guy named John who've been in football player was a big tough Baz had been on his own mission of self-destruction construction. John Been Stabbed at a New Year's party in-laws kidney and WHO's poisoning his remaining kidney with as much lick as he could drink. The basic plan for the night was forced to make some money but as I say they will obviously underlying issues driving each of us that we were too disconnected from the muscles to recognize. who started out in techies? Bond Gordon Street caused the street from the projects. Take he's was one of our regular hangouts just a small neighborhood drinking ball with shuffleboard machine and a pool table there was a friend of mine guy named Nipple who had a gun and I just came straight out and I told him Gimme the gun. What are you going to do? I need it. I said there was no question the idea give me his gun made him nervous. I made a Lotta people nervous at that point in my life because they knew whatever I did I would really do. I was dangerous. I wasn't a bad kid but I was dangerous because I was writes about what I was doing. I thought what I was doing had a purpose to it though. I doubt I could have said what it was then. At least I'd have been wrong. Come come.

"To the fight with teddy out I'm Ken Reid joined as always buy great Teddy Atlas welcome to part two of how to fix boxing we touched on a bunch of topics in the first episode on this God I just want to pass along our condolences to to fighters that we lost in the past month so Max Dada Shove Russian fighter auto EGAS clements stable guy that Teddy I know you've met in the past is trained with Alex Vase Dick and the and the the boys out in Oxnard and Hugo Alfredo santee on Argentinian fighter also passed away within about a week or two of man accent it's obviously tragic anytime we lose anyone in any sporting endeavour but a in particular combat sport and I know you have some thoughts it's on the topic I mean as you said off I we you know we continue send out press out for those two fighters families and we're doing this show it would need to be done if they didn't if this didn't happen anyway because we understand the realism of the realities of this sport it's tough it's difficult it can be dangerous which we understand that we the same way as football as called driving no sports have to same sometimes the same perils possible perils that attached to it difficulties too dangerous attached to the sport so whether or not somebody had passed which still would be talking about things that makes sense to talk about when you understand the sport Monday stand what you're dealing with that there's always the possible ody of somebody getting hurt because of the nature of the sport but now with the passing of these two fighters is too young people that had families and having to be boxes at some part of the tragedy of that is to try to respect them and remember them bye bye dean of you can hasten the change maybe speed up than the ideas for the need for the range you know no better way to tribute them then to say that we're going to make it a mandate should always been a mandate I'm sure it is but really make it a mandate now priority right now you know in a fast as possible to look at how we can make to support Google safe I listen not an everything it'd be done right without pointing fingers and things can still go wrong just like a football game or any thought that it all am Emma may you have see any sport that is a combat sport of physical sport of football you could call it a combat Arctic that's fair you know you could do things writing things can still have the wrong end the result that nobody wants again because of the difficulty the dangers that are inherent with the sport but they are all ways always to try to limit some of those dangerous and football is doing it why should we raise car driving story you know raise driving they have roll balls that they didn't use avenue call they have an apparatus because I did fight plan years ago with ESPN in one of the race car drivers card that he allowed me to go into his call which usually is taboo they never let you go into the you know some of your car drag your friends that arise caught drives so they apparatus that stabilizes the spine in the neck in case of an accident that was not invented until unfortunately somebody else died into somebody else was paralyzed even though they understood the dangers of the sport before that it involves folks action when something terrible horrendous happens and with thinking about those things more so now and we underneath saw these two young warriors so football is always coming up with new protocol all different helmets making a practices shorter making not allowing you to hit with pads as long limiting net common sense stuff you know making sure hydration and things like data understood properly you know the limiting the amount of preseason games limiting the amount of hits that somebody takes having a concussion protocol that years ago they didn't have no that that you don't get back on that field until you cleared that's where we can help ourselves boxing because that's where we're still primitive that's we still lack that's because we don't have a national commission to tie these things to make sure these things are tied in there in place and enforced that's where we could get better some of the medical areas may be trying to be a neurologist but that's talk to a neurologist a lot of the states with the commission's we ever if an independent commissions we don't have unilateral medical conformity across the board unfortunately but some of it is the same but in a lot of them if you get knocked out you've got to get a cat scan Marai why wait to a guys knocked out how about if he's in a tough fighting took a lot of punishment get a cat scan he he didn't get knocked out so what so so what and I'm not saying would've I am not saying would have prevented these two young tragedies here I'm just thinking ahead of just being in a way that we need to think that maybe you know we understand what we understand that it's a sport whether physical damage that has handed out so and it's to the head one of the things you just touched on his uniformity in the case of the Argentinian fighter Hugo afraid of santee on he was actually under suspension at the time in one area I don't know one area of the country but he was definitely under suspended Arinc promoter should be held accountable but that's what we don't have a national commission we don't have any police we don't have conformity you just said thank you for bringing that up Ken because Y- to point fingers at when somebody dies but from what you're saying the guy should have been in a ring hundred percent so so so right there people say Teddy what's the answer you know sometimes is not an answer sometimes there is an answer that one answer that to make sure that this unilateral conformity in accountability and across the board and regulation across the board that have sold suspended suspended for reason make sure he's not fighting somewhere not only should he be not fighting any shouldn't be given in the gym but can't let it kid spar inspiring but that's going to the point with the football a guy there was a time when a guy got his bell wrong right that's what they call it Yup guy got his bell rung he was lost and he was still playing he was playing he played that game he still played in a game plan he was pressured to play might have certifications solar systems and he was playing the following week but now because of the precious because of what we're talking about the light put on it and everything else and all the problems with the NFL with CD now there's a miracle now there's monitoring a guy that got his belvoir on the cause is not playing in that game he's not playing on Sunday let me tell you something a guy that gets Bevan in boxing he's playing the next Sunday he's he's fighting in the next new moon worse than that Ken just said he he's in a gym he's back in Jim if somebody was on I'm sorry I'm sorry to to be the one the barrel of this kind of news but there are responsible people in football in in in life in probably racecar driving you know there's plenty of responsible. Once at Inbox two there's plenty of good ones plenty responsible once but does some that aren't not not necessarily that they're evil but they're ignorant whatever it is whatever is it can't be tolerated because it's starring because back and put a head gear on and take a bunch of shot a stop you but they're going to see that that's where we can help to support that's what this episode is for that's where something could be done is that why again we come back to a national commission to put superstructure in place to to help these things happen because otherwise how do they happen to have just with our thoughts just with our words just with ideas no no so what I'm saying is that there was a time in football where a guy got his doll wrong and he was playing again that time's gonn because the NFL has a commission pressure put on him and now and they did digs wrong for money oh yeah for the evil root of money but then no angels but oh at this point who cares what we cast football players of being protected I camp out we camp out fighters being protected so now you have a situation where a guy who's been caused he's not GonNa Forget about on Sundays not back on the practice field and uh-huh cleared yeah that's where we can get better and much better and need to get much better in boxing because a guy could be suspended and guaranteees of too often more often than not and too often at one time would be too much and it's more than one time where a guy who's under suspension Baghdad Jim because he shows signs that his training thinks he's okay and you know they they wanna get ready for winter fight whenever suspension they wanna be ready Oh they don't WanNa be idle they want to be able to fight right away so dorn that Thomas Suspension in gym boxing there's only one way to sat you have to have monitoring an does monitoring in the NFL the does nobody on the sidelines because if there are that team will have not only fine that might not be a team anymore I mean that's how serious it has to be dealt with right now so it has to be the same series reprecussions where if a guy is caught in a gym while number one to Jim has their license taken yet yeah yeah does not play with this stuff number two the manager who's demand fight a license taken up for year for life for life right I have no problem being severe when it comes to this stuff to train who stray licensed takeaway panel Melos for life for life he's gone he's out no more no more hearing nothin gone not six months a year gone so you have to get those kind of penalties in place those kind of sanctions in place that kind of it's a severe sport it's a severe consequence at the end it's a severe reality make the punishment severe where does monitoring somebody goes around you have to you again you have to have with the commission when if we had a national commission whereas somebody goes around and make sure that the guy on suspension is what training which again they are is not training in Jim is not sparring.

Teddy Atlas Ken Reid Max Dada hundred percent six months
