"That. It really it really just Kinda case together just through me because it was the Ramos. The person didn't affect literally when I I wasn't even when I was watching a trial and I kept looking at him he didn't better like a better eyelash at this stuff of like He. He just showed no remorse like it was set like does watch and his analysis goes through with them. I'm like honestly I'm proud at her. Support system system wasn't like throwing stuff at the back of his head because that's the kind of and that's how I feel. I was pretty upset like I wanted to throw something through the camera and I think that's why it took me so long. Aw because I needed so many of these so care days to step back from his case and be like okay because too. Yeah because I was like this this makes no sense like and then why won't you tell them where you put the rest of her body at or like what you did with her. Lay All this substance Sta. It is and people even said that he was like they known him to be like short tempered and stuff like that prior to this and he was just like a wild person and it was like check her friend. Ashley's France even like you should really stop hanging out with that guy. 'cause like Ashley from the way it was actually was described. She she was sweet to Oh beautiful of a soul to deal with someone of the likes of Gerry chance since only the only thing from inist that made me sleep at night was the fact that he's in prison right now. Yeah desolate knowing that. He's he taken care. Yeah Oh yeah he. He's been taking taking care of Ra because you you're a sick man you are. You really are and then like the pictures of Ashley. She just didn't see a picture of her frowning rounding and things like that like she was just a happy person. So how could you do something like that to someone don't now and I'm like I don't I think we'll ever understand because we have commonsense. We're good people. We know right from wrong. Thank even thinking about stuff like that. Yeah I know like in a day is from Mario was saying it was just like kind of like he was kind of prepping himself with this kind of like the conversation he was having with him and stuff like A. He knew that he was GonNa do this to her or to someone like if it wasn't actually young it would have been someone yet and that's what actually mom was saying like. She's just glad that he is off the streets that he can never put no one else's child through this again and I don't I'm one hundred percent. So Yep that that is the death of Ashley Young. I really just wanted to emphasize that actually like the person that she was. Because the fact that you the things that you did to her body and it was clear that you got rid of her hands and her feet and her head so that they will be able to determine how exactly she died or fingerprints getting her face. Exactly because it's the mom blood. Yeah you think as purse. DNA and they don't eat fingerprints or they don't need to see her face to no. It's her when you still have the entire body. You have everything with blood all over her purse hers. Close her like what you don't think her mom new clothes she had right and then I was like really sad because it was just like you could tell that he got off on this kind of stuff like holding his information because does wasn't he Hair mall out that missing person report then one nine one one call from Mario them they had to steal determine if that was actually so it was a time period. It was like yeah. We just got a call about this dismembered body. Ashley's mom instantly knew that this is my daughter that they're talking about but it took forever as editor Jerry. Just coming right out and me like idea what idea it's longer discuss like making it official. Okay yes this is her. That's messed up. He should've just to sit or he like you said don't respond. Don't respond at all like you got off playing with that women's head and I send my condolences so that entire family like I couldn't imagine going through this. This entire trial is sitting near looking at the person that took your daughter's life away with no no remorse like he's just sitting there. Chilling like this is just another day in court. This wasn't his court case. That's like this wasn't for him like he was like an audience audience so yeah let me get off of that because literally I feel myself getting worse worked up all over again and I'm like I'm not trying to take their two Saturday. Yeah so let's go into the about us and I get it's my turn read it off isn't it. I haven't putting this off a week's cook. "Maple Syrup from a lot of specific places online so people who come visit is it Vermont and connect with farms and products. Here then end up. Being loyal customers long-term loyal customers wherever they live around world. Yep I I sometimes send Vermont Cheeses Maple Syrup and stuff to out of town relatives at the holidays and so on and And there's definitely the Some extra level of something there. I'm not sure exactly what it is beyond just the fact that the cheeses delicious. So I'm looking at a card in front of me. Here says International Workshop on Agritourism. Twenty twenty the date is October. Twenty seventh through the twenty nineth in Burlington Vermont. So it sounds like we're GONNA have some visitors from all over coming in August agritourism next fall and who wants to take a swing at. Tell me a little bit about this. This is Lisa I can. I can start off by saying I was fortunate to in about a year ago in in two thousand eighteen. I was fortunate to go to the First World Congress on agritourism which was held in Italy in Bolzano Italy And part of the reason why I was able to go because Uvm sent me there and bring the next one back to Vermont. And so so I there were about two hundred and fifty people from over forty countries. All talking about what agritourism meant and what it was doing for for the rural communities and their air countries around the world and I said to the folks in Italy Hey we want to host the next one and it took a little doing because their first reaction was oh no this the World Congress must always be in Italy. You said well. If it's the world congress you gotTA spread it out a little bit here right. Well I said you know there's only four people from the US here at this conference in about as many as Canada. If they're you know if we move this around if we move move move the idea of an international conference around. Well you're going to draw a lot more people from different places and then the next time when you hold it in Italy. You're yeah exactly it'll be bigger and so we're yes so we couldn't call it Congress on agritourism but we're fortunate to have the international workshop up on agritourism which is the second international agritourism conference. And it's coming right here to Burlington Vermont as you mentioned October. Twenty seven to twenty nine th and we are right now we're in the throes of We're about to put out the call for proposals for presentations. And this is a conference for farmers for Agricultural Service providers for for the tourism industry for researchers scientists. Anyone who is somehow somehow learning experiencing practicing agritourism or who just wants to learn more about it. This is a conference bringing folks together From around the world to to really look at it and learn from each other and it's a great opportunity to show up for Mont.. Yeah for sure I mean that is That's exciting that this has come into Burlington and next October and So I congratulate you on getting the getting that not. That's that's pretty terrific and now I'm I'm wondering are there going to be talk to me for a moment about which countries our leaders. Obviously Italy I would gather francis big into agritourism Great Britain or are they doing well. Yes but it's not just in Europe. That was one of the things that really came home to me. When I was at the conference in Italy I mean there were people from South Africa and Malawi from Lebanon and Saudi Arabia and Egypt I'm from Australia. New Zealand South America Peru. Especially you know in a lot of places. They'll be an indigenous focus on indigenous farming tradition. Sir So well while Italy. Maybe you know get it gets a lot of press there. It's happening all over the world and so many people WANNA alern share from each other. Well that's Sounds like an opportunity to do so next October. Two Thousand Seven hundred twenty eight in Burlington at the international workshop on agritourism. It looks like Mara you wanted to add a word here. You know I think of our leaders and you know what from the Governor to legislators and people kind of struggling to look Out For Vermont. Vulnerable populations all the challenges. We seek and I think about this is just such a positive opportunity for investment the chance for Vermont to really step into our role as leaders in the global agritourism movement. And Lisa said you know the the interest agritourism is broad and wide A lot of the world's cultures a lot of traditional cultures really celebrate connected connection to place and food And but I think in the US the US. I think Vermont holds You know a continuity with are working landscape Still being whole enough to offer something. That's really authentic. Really really spectacular and such a neat opportunity for us at the community level whether it's groups like acorn across the state At regional level individual farms like ours or these statewide organizations Really helping to position to rot capture this opportunity and what an opportunity. We have a caller on the line. Let's go to wait in Carinthia. Good Morning Wade. It's morning day. That was that was being mentioned this morning in the studio for just a moment right sure. Yeah Hey wanted to get in and yeah agritourism you know here in Vermont and we think the outside of Vermont. You're talking about in Italy but I was never so impressed. is in Portland Maine directly a beach house down Democrat a little bit Last summer and we've worked one of those lobster boat tours where you actually join in you know pulling up a lobster traps and everything And being in business too you know looking at the numbers and lobster eastern me as as far as a catch goes was rock bottom. They couldn't even cover their fuel to go out for you. Know Half Day and come back with just a handful of lobster. They were just losing their shirts. Yep but this this this young fellow Ashley Young couple that owned this boat They went out. We were we were group of about twenty. I think we paid twenty three twenty five dollars a piece you. They're young. He he caught five lobster which was did not cover his people probably And our group went out in the morning and he has three more fully booked cruises after that you you put on the slickers and you and gloves stinky fish and your whole experience and you pull him up. This guy was probably grossing fifteen or sixteen hundred bucks a day a uncooked on tourism. There you go that's I don't know if they call it aqua tourism when it involves the ocean or whatever but uh is that right. Just do the lobster lobster thing here in Vermont but it's GonNa be tough getting lobsters in Vermont but We have other things to offer here so I I appreciate the call way. That's that's fascinating and talk to me by the competition My three guests here a little bit. I mean I remember going to visit my my sister out near Dayton Ohio a couple of years ago and she took me on a winery tour in southwest Ohio My brother in California talks about the all the terrific breweries around San Diego. So we're not alone in this. But how do we stand out Mari. Sorry I think I think the connectivity with we have a lot of rural lands in Vermont people cherish driving through the state Visiting the state. I think the authentic You know some of the choices that we've made over time not have billboards. There's something very distinctive in the state state. It shows up when we sell our products out of the state And we just have to step into the very specialness that we have and Gosh. Don't we for the tourists that go. Oh wow in taste and smell and feel at yourselves. Come visit our farms and I would. This is Lisa all add that our budget our tourism and promotion budget maybe smaller Mahler than every other state out there. Just about which definitely hinders our ability to spread the word nationally and internationally but what we have to offer. The authenticity of our product is as good as anything or better than anything. And you. You know you you've been to Italy. You were talking about that you can. You can find amazing experiences right here in Vermont and it's on all of us through through social chill media and and thanks to you for helping to spread the story short for all of us to share the news just a couple of minutes ago so if somebody wants to reach out and find out more about this is a website or to y'all recommend yeah I would say dig in bt Dot Com again Vermont Dot Com if you what alert Gi Mvp all one word. Yep that's right okay. T. Dot com and we have a calendar of food and farm events around the state a newsletter after all sorts of places and things to do sounds like an excellent place to start one last word. Lisa that that's a public facing website for farmers or people interested interested in helping with the workshop they can go to. UVM DOT EDU SLASH VAT agritourism okay. Well let's go to wrap it up from the nave. Graham show on this Thursday morning November the fourteenth two thousand nineteen and I want to thank guests very much. We've been speaking with Lisa Chase The statue professor professor. UVM Director of Tourism Research Center Murray Almond is farmer. The remount girls farm and Northfield. Tara Pereira is executive director of the fresh network. Thank you very much coming in. And that'll do it for the Dave Ramsey show on this Thursday morning folks. I have a great afternoon in tune into Gantomar warning. We'll talk to y'all soon..

"Premier league and i i know he wants to go to the pep level. Maybe he can do it now that they've spent all this money. Everyone's looking at me quizzically for making that statement but all right. Let's pick the wild pigs. He says just wondering how far menchu's it's gonna fall now miles up number seven. That's not me 'cause i. I was just assuming you're gonna pick benny united <hes> but i'm i'm going to be a. I'm going to be a coward. I'll pick me in the united <hes> <hes> do. We need to say anything about any. Let's talk about harry maguire for the next ten minutes. Do you need to talk about them for a whole ten minutes well. I think erin one but dhaka's <hes> is the better purchase there. I mean like people talk all the time about how you know back there. <hes> you know the most important players in modern football and they got a young young talented right back from crystal palace. He was their player of the fees in beating out. We'll leave so <hes> yeah like from what i saw from. The last disney look really a good <hes>. They definitely overpaid for maguire but <hes> i think you know if he puts together a strong pairing with <hes> victor lindelof they could be pretty formidable. I honestly i didn't prepare much yeah because i certainly wouldn't be available but like really really the the the price tag on ever wire is not about whether or not he was eating. No second in the league aerial aerial challenges one or whatever that whatever the stats are he's a good ball playing center back <hes> and he's solid and he's young which is like what we were purchasing was continuity like you're paying to see less of phil jones and chris mullin not for not necessarily just for harry maguire and the thing is is that at the at the the s- australia you can see the beginnings of what he's trying to build anyway and it's just like the problem with united was just so much that like like their defense is not so much that it was bad as it would just cease to exist for fifteen minutes at a time so if you are you know they they spend a lot of money on their back line but the thing is that we're starting a season and ashley young is not starting. Antonio valencia is not starting small and not starting and phil l. Jones is not starting and that is cause for celebration. I have a question is <hes>. Would you like to see anthony marceca. Lamarcus replay together up top. Bring back up four four two. We just have the two of them play sports together i would. I think that we're actually going to see that away from home. A lot 'cause social does play two strikers up top pretty often away from home like <hes>. It's the way that i think he wants to play a four three three and then sometimes it's you know the the formation changes slightly but yeah yeah i mean like i would like the two of them to work out marshals a player that is there's so much more there to be in terms of talent and there's there's just more goals. There's more production that there there's more with lukaku before he left. I mean it's just that you know it is a it's just a a lot of cases of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I really keep coming satellite. What year again klopp said before the last time that united played liverpool last season where he's just kind of like player for player united could like is up there with the best teams teams in the league is just the fact that none of those players fit together spent so much time talking about pogo for for good reason and alexis sanchez and maguire. Are you know it it for for the price but you think about guys like you know. Luke shaw and marcial players confidence was pretty clearly just eroded utterly broken. Just destroyed and social job is to make those kinds of players better. You know you've got to figure out a solution for public things but like you have to make the those players you have to raise as their level and make them serviceable starters yes. It's just that you know also but then you come back around to my pneumatic or the corpse corpse of pneumonia modest is going to be playing major minutes this season.

"I mean, they did not play well that night and boof on PS Jesus and improve miraculously. And there was the miraculous. Humble, right. You know, there's all those things I said at the start I thought it would be a mental decision to appoint him even as a caretaker content considering his. See I'm what needed to be done at the club. Now, I actually softened my position on that over over the course of the winds and things like that. And I said, you know, he could be a good manager for the next two years. But what I didn't say was you must give it to them. Now, you how to them? No, no. We were pretty clear on that. I was you've given him that job before you've appointed the key piece in rebuilding the club, which is a technical director or a bunch of technical director. I just I'm so curious who are the guys and social spoke about this a little bit during the week. But who are the guys that if you're a Manchester United fan, you feel comfortable moving forward with on this club? I assume rash verd- I'll throw lindgaard in there. And I'll say Marcial because he recently signed a contract. I mean Maciel his body language when he came on tonight is what his body language for a while. Four really poor. But Lukaku out pod by out. Fred Herrera round while what a loss they'll take on? Fred. I mean, something's got to change. This isn't working. In fact, match out on the one guy that maybe you could have kept at least as somebody who perform a function in midfields because really is not as old as jars legs aren't going as managers appear to be would have been under Herrera knuckle be the difference. But he's gonna walk away to during the summer. We're led to believe it's pretty incredible to see what's happened with just so many just no strategy. But no strategy to look at it. You've got signings from the Furby era plan centre-back who should probably belong on the club. If a fullback was signed as a winger by Alex Ferguson, you know, playing wingback in Ashley young and captaining the club..

"But it was possible, you know, going into the. Second leg yard stuff about Mike falen talking about Paul pug buzz saying that you know, like he's unfinished as a player he has a lot to improve like you need him step up in this game. And you thought that maybe, you know, this would be it. There's a there's kind of a feeling that maybe they could overturn it. And then you get punched in the dick twice in the first minutes with two goals from the best player on earth. You know, like, there's there's no accounting for Lio. Messi also is just that would ever are the change of circumstances have been at United with ole as appointment with these changes in the coaching personnel. So on so forth. We are still going to be suffering from the same problems, which is that we are starting Phil Jones and Chris bowling it that that's still are most stable centreback pairing, which is a problem. And also Ashley young playing meaningful minutes at outside back and getting torched was again, a problem if field is it fair to say that kind of like the afterglow of the. Lay you know, manager bump and and fulltime appointment has subsided. Now. I mean, yeah, we've lost five out of the last seven. It's an EMMY like it's we like, it can still wait until the summer to have anything definitive to say about it you. I mean, like I said before you know, like there's probably going to be a deaf after he gets the contract bright. Two points out of fourth. I mean, I would imagine top four is kind of mandatory, right? I also don't feel like it's going to happen. A feeling we're going to be a Europa league team next year that's gonna make recruitment difficult. I'm really just hoping this point that we get Paul Mitchell for our sport, the Rb light said sporting director for our director football because I was not the Australian hair product, dude. But yeah, like, it was you know, I like you said you're sitting here expectations low respect, which I think I can't remember if it was Barney Rony the wrote about this in the guardian or maybe it was a piece of the telegraph. But kind of thinking of the ole appointment as lowering fans expectations like making us. Okay. With not being like what we once were. I mean, like because I mean, if you think about it we've had much of the same problems that we had before he showed up, but we feel better about them. Right. Right. Right. Right. Right. Let's quickly talk about I XE. Shoutout to our daily departed rhino Hammond who call Dayaks in the chipping semi-final here. They are man. I again, Legos like this had the most potential to be the most lake I exercise rob Madrid. They have now bounced event as an rail Madrid. They slayed the vita Chris charter all although which was. So wildly satisfying. And it wasn't like again, it wasn't there there. They run into the semi-finals has not been fluky by any stretch. I mean like they have they soundly beat both teams. And I they are just such a joy to watch. Let me like they play with no fear. Yeah. I think you know, the Spurs. I XE semi final is going to be is going to be the one that's kind of like to team to teams that are punching above their weight a little bit. So should be exciting. We should mention Liverpool. Went by Puerto with ease. Unlike what I predicted so Spurs an eye sliver pool. Barcelona who's going to be in Madrid in the final Spurs, and I ex Barscelona. I think it's going to end up being you know, what I really do think it's going to end up being Barcelona Nayak's. Wow. Wow. I'm gonna say Spurs in Barcelona. Maybe I'm reversing Spurs. We should quickly mentioned European although European according to five thirty eight Liverpool as the best chances of winning the Champions League title game. Those are all Liverpool fans low. That's why. There. You wrote the league semi-finals are said, I know you're excited about that mica arsenal. In valencia. I should say Valencia and Chelsea an Amtrak Frankfurt. Those are the two semi-final Soviet still looking like we might have an arsenal. Chelsea euro believed final. Let's close this episode, Mike, I'm gonna give you a trivia question. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long for you to answer. Okay. Are you ready shoot? The in the Champions League semifinals. Those four teams I mentioned Tottenham. I ex Liverpool.

"Family business finances, mental health all grew substantially once. I really focus on the spiritual aspect of faith, it increased it by reading daily devotional 's and reading awesome books from pastor and author. German is that Glenn? Evan Renfro right after that. He's I like to prioritize spiritual as I believe it will benefit all others. I believe God is created us in his image. And that we are to steward our resources. Well, this includes our mental and physical states. Also, I believe none of this to be done in a vacuum. Meaning when we progress in one area all others can benefit as well. We are the same person. No matter which hat, we're wearing at that time will said though, it's kind of like commonsense. It's not that common. Don't you think or not that easy to do? True. It is it, you know, it's interesting. That's when we started on because I was thinking for myself this question, you know, what one one part of spoke has really impacted my life, the most, and I was raised up in the church and all that. But I had something probably about ten twelve years ago where I really done deeper in my faith, and that made an enormous impact. And it's actually what opened up a lot of my I guess beliefs confidence to to go ahead and move forward with writing a book, truthfully and really putting myself out there because I felt like it became more of a a calling versus a goal kind of saying. But that that little just a little bit of tweaking, my spiritual life, all of a sudden my career opened up. My I was having better relationships with my family, and and that was a huge driver in so much of what's happened for me over the last ten years. Well, as I think about it too. It's hard not to. Intellectually put that I spiritual and I got it admit that without that component. I can't make much sense of my own life. It does seem futile. And so everything based on that yet. I also am consistently blown away. How much understanding and knowledge I can have in my spiritual life in my faith based life. And yet if I don't proactively put the steps in place in all areas, I can still be failing in. That is gosh, I think it emitted -ly disappointing. It's fresh. I wanna think man if I'm right with God, everything will just will just happen. It'll all come together and not pursuing wisdom and other areas of my life. Those things have not come together. That's part of my own doctrinal struggles there, I guess in the past. Ashley young here. She says mental with a big point smiley face getting myself in the right head space every day by waking up and having some quiet time and listening to a podcast mailing that exhibit show. Thank you. Ashley has brought positive changes to how I go about my fitness routine, complete task for my business interact with other people mental clarity and setting that abundance mindset makes everything else in my day flow so much better. I need that daily reminder or tips and tricks to keep my Cup full. So important. It's hard for me. Not to put that first. Yeah. Well, and really, interestingly spiritual mental they can depending on the person they can go hand in hand. Because you know, we're renewing our mind every day. That's we're suppose that's what we're told to do spiritually. But that that it's true because our heads are going to get full of the trash, and we have to clean it out on a daily basis. Zaid's one of his quotes that I love most. Or he would tell the story about motivation, and why you need to do it every day personal development because it's a lot like bathing. It's not going to you don't do it once and expect it to stick you have to do it every day and the same goes for our minds because we are just inundated with negativity and doubt and fear. And and people telling us things that may not be true that we have to every single day get us back on track. Yes. And forgive me for saying it's hard for me to put that first point is not figuring out what I think or you think this is the fun everybody fine. Your secret sauce of what does it for you?.

But but why I think Hsieh's knee may have also because he's he moved in that direction where he thought Ashley Young's ball had young taken. "Can learn it for free as an apprentice apprentice or an intern, or they could get paid a small wage to go learn how to do that. I got a buddy down the street owns two, five star restaurants, and he learned the business by becoming a. Washed dishes. He bus tables, he was a waiter. He was a manager and yada yada. Now he is a very wealthy individual and mayor of our town actually because he learned it from the roots man. That's not the norm these days. Well, Melissa Costa here. She says, I think I've always are. She said, number two. And I think it's always about becoming a better version of yourself which begins with competence attitude. Faith, motivation with with that comes up desire to learn, find the information you need to become the person you want to be and feel that God intends you to be and right on the heels of that Carmen's David. She says the more faith in God to have the more my confidence increases. My motivation leads me to improve my abilities and I'm filled with gratitude and calmness, and it feels like it points right back to the message. We just heard from year father, Tom from zig Ziglar on how often we can go forward when our faith motive. Nation, inspiration is increased and do a better job even though nothing changed in our core ability understanding knowledge. And I, I've seen that in my life. I see it every day. I mean, that's why we renew our minds in the morning, try you know, in order to achieve anything. You've got to have the right mindset, the right strategy, and the right action mindset is the habit of right thinking strategy is the the habit of right planning and action is the habit of riot implementing and boy, if you're thinking is not right, and I love the that she put in the words, gratitude and calmness, because let's face it when we're in a battle every day and we get assaulted, right? The news assaults is, you know, we bump into conversations. We didn't know we're going to have not everybody's on the same wavelength. I got crazy thoughts and beliefs, and they tend to one. Two of them down our throat sometimes. But if we don't have the right mindset, the right calmness, the right amount of gratitude, our likelihood of reacting instead of responding to something doesn't go, right, goes way up and that derails us even more in. So the faith in God, the columnist gratitude we what a buffer to just deal with reality. Amen. Amen. Ashley young, she's I think I go back and forth between the two very often trying to get the motivation to kick my personal small business off the ground of which I have all the skills and abilities to do, but also having other ventures and ideas in mind that need guidance on order to be successful. The balance of priority in this case is what I find often hold me back from truly committing to either. I've always believed that with confidence anything can be possible, but even with all the passion and the world, knowing where to start can hold me back either way listening to your show and various other podcasts certainly tapped into that motivation. I need to move forward with. My already established business. So thank you for that back Tom. For me, a couple of things jumped out there. One, you know we're talking about, do you need more more skills understanding, let's say, in your profession in order to progress, or do you were innocent saying, just need an increase in your self image, your motivation, your inspiration, it. She almost brings up a third thing. Sometimes it's almost a middle ground. We need some training, some council, some guidance just on where to this guy, she's talking about like what priorities are in her business, some tools and methodologies to go about it that are almost a separate, maybe a trifecta between our personal, our attitude, our understanding of the product or service or whatever it is that we're doing. We need some skills. If we talk about a lot like time in men, she talks about priorities and man as as a guy in the midst as you know, of a new business and. Whatever that is. The daily issue is all my goodness. What are the priorities? I am almost I feel I feel handicapped a lot in doing that. I had to bring other people in who are project managing to tell me, okay, what's priority today or helped me figure that out..
