Fresh update on "apple music" discussed on The Talk Show

"But that that to me is it's not a meaningful thing until they connected to the must have apple product, which is the device, and we can talk about why that maybe isn't the case right now. I. I guess my I don't want I. Don't completely disagree but I think I feel more like apple music is that Lynch Pin service and that is how that's what I did to guess what their pricing would be, which was pretty accurate as I thought. Well, why don't you take the apple music pricing and add five dollars and there's you bundle. and. That's pretty much exactly the pricing for individual and family take the ten and fifteen dollars that apple music costs as individual or a family, and at five dollars a month and include. Not everything else but you know the arcade and The TV plus and some I cloud storage, which I still really feel like they're nickel and diming people on like. For the individual thing, it's like to upgrade the people to fifty gigabytes when are selling these phones that have five, hundred, twelve gigabytes of storage and shoot five cave four K. video that easily fills up fifty gigabytes if you're shooting at a lot it's like, wow, I can't believe that if these people are going to give you twenty dollars or fifteen dollars a month why not just give them you know of that storage for their backups but anyway. I used to feel the same way about about about storage in general on the divorce rate the markup from whatever the base level iphone, which you know early on became an unusable amount of right you had to get a higher level. is an enormous markup to go to the next level especially when it's like almost irresponsible to sell the phone, it's the base level whatever that. We're having a sixteen hammered having a tail relatives like you said that like you think you're saving money, but it's it's. A functional. Yeah. It was sixteen gigabytes that they stuck with as the base for way too long because at sixteen gigabytes, it was like half of it was taken up by the operating system. You know like one you once they burst past sixteen, even the thirty two it's like you mostly get thirty two but with sixteen, you didn't even get close to sixteen of usable storage. Because the Oh, and everything else had to be in there and they had to reserve enough space so that you could do software updates you know, and even if they only reserve like two gigabytes, so that went us offer update comes their space to write the update before doing the update. It's like if you only giving people sixteen, that's you're taking away one eighth of their storage. Yet and I think you're right. I think music is by music in the data are by far the most widely used of those offerings I think there are probably tens of millions of people who are using both music and data, and so right there you're getting low but the big difference big difference between those two those music is fun. People want to listen to music and people why do people listen to music because music makes them happy right at that it's very, you know it it's the the one form of our media that is just the closest. It's purely emotional, right? It makes you happy. That's why you pay for streaming music. Why do you pay for cloud storage? Cerebral aspect of this offering it is medicine to be honest it is you're signing up to take some vitamins and you should be taking him and you should have enough storage your cloud plan so that you can back up your devices because having those backups in I cloud is is really fantastic and a great way to make sure you don't lose your photos and stuff like that but it's medicine, right? It's no, it's no fun at all upgrading from the base storage to more storage. You don't see anything. You don't get to watch a funny episode of Ted Lasso. You don't get to listen. You don't get to brag to someone about how big or. You get into medicine it's good but that's why I, feel like it. They should just offer everybody who gets into this apple one bundle, the two gigabytes honestly that our T. terabytes that. So that Britain as well that's more than anybody needs. Well, then fine. Then they don't have to worry about but isn't that a great anyway that's that's my argument on them I'm well yeah frankly I think that should be. Factored, into your thousand dollar, right? Right. Right. You're paying this much or you're paying this much for apple care the storage it come with that like it should just be thing you don't have to decide you need to buy when the thing you wanted to access is no longer available and you thought it was right. That's that's it's not just medicine right or exercise it's it's finding out you needed you should have had the storage but didn't now you have a there's something bad has happened. Yeah. So I wish I would have just gone ahead and bought an advanced. So anyway I think music might be that Lynch. Pin. It it. If you like listening to music, you need at least one streaming music clan in today's world, and you know if it's going to be apple music than why not spend five dollars more a month and get the apple one, and then you get the TV shows and whatever else the arcade games. Yeah I I I to me if they said Yeah Apple. Music. Now comes with these following three service that makes that's the Amazon model right? Here's.

"Apple music added two new stations right apple music hits. And Apple Music country. no hip hop. Lame. No hip hop. We always think that the apple radio play was going to have multiple channels and then it was only one for the longest time. That buys anyone implied more than one, right? That would be Channel One and there's no channel it will be renamed Apple Music One apple music hits will celebrate everyone's favourite songs maybe not mind from the eighties nineties and two thousands. Apple Music country will spotlight country music. One thing that apple's doing with these, which I think is. I don't know how I about it is. It's very heavily just like apple. One Apple Beats one very heavily. DJ. Flavored, you know they've got big name. Dj's who are going to host these music beats one was Zane. Lowe and remember and. Apple wants even more subscriptions from you

"A new computer will you need apple care warranty protection you know while listen music or read an article on that iphone or IPAD? Well, guess what bear subscribe to Apple Music or Apple News Now apple which reported twenty six point four, billion dollars worth of iphone sold in the recent porter versus thirteen billion for services is in a unique situation among rivals. It has over one billion people using the iphone a welcome audience to sell more things to. So even just a small percentage of iphone owners say, yes to services apple can still grow look at how apple music has grown to a solid number two behind spotify with eighty million subscribers. That's an eight percent by in from the base. Now, the Google on android operating system actually has more users worldwide than apple's IOS but most android phones are sold by different manufacturers like Samsung L. G. and high sense which prevents Google from working space like apple does. For the last few years, apple has been on a tear to increase its services response rates data. Why iphone owners get so many Nag messages in the fall it looks to go even further per bloomberg by bundling many things into an even bigger subscription play called apple one, the plan is said to offer apple users tab monthly deductions from their accounts for Apple Music, news? TV, arcade an I cloud. Now companies love this stuff because it's consistent steady income and if you're dealing with subscription overload now, how many services are on the hook for a monthly? Charity vs. Peters

"Welcome listeners. This is sound. Only I'm Justin charity and I Mike Peters where your sound only co hosts here to record our deepest darkest thoughts about the twenty first century. In the millennial lifestyle, we're talking about rap music video games, anime youtube social media, and the wider Internet. This week were talking about versus the popular. Instagram live turned apple music web video series, which pits to musicians against one another to musical acts. I should say against one another in a competitive DJ set with the to musical acts in virtual attendance. Mike, LESCO let's talk about it. Let's let's let's talk about versus let's talk about versus the first one. Was In March we should say that it is Timberlands. Baby a first. Right. Timberlands, wispy stimulus whispers, baby They basically would have rumored placards like this is the this is the title card for next week it might be ti versus somebody, and then an ends up being somebody else. Well, tears is to that's the Ti yes, racist. Stand up just like sh- ti and tip need to just go ahead and settle their differences and realize the police also out here you understand. Right. So the verses series is really Thing that came out of like mutual adoration. I. Would Say Lake it was because I mean, the thing is when you hear verses, you see like it style is with the Z. and inflames and Times New Roman and superimposed over stuff you think that it's like a battle but it's not really no well first of all I think club, Promo? Fliers. Cobra. PROVO Yeah. Ladies. Get Him free before eleven the yeah. But I mean it's actually Nothing like that. I mean it's religious people playing music that they like at a room together. Right. But in a weirdly competitive context yes we should give a rundown of some of them like the match up so far for versus. You know it's been almost a couple dozen of them including Nellie verses, ludicrous. Teddy Riley versus baby face DJ premier versus Rizza Erica by dovers Joe Scott t pain versus Lil Jon. Yes. Yes. So last week the most recent versus matchup Rick Ross against two chains, which is a match up that you and I had. Or have a lot of opinions about. Yeah, you'd like we we do have a lot of opinions about this I. I genuinely believe that there was a period of time around two, thousand sixteen, where like two chains was. You now top five top three wrappers in the world and he wasn't like three you know but I mean like been again a lot of people find that view heretical I. Mean why heretical I dunno that add on moment that's the thing he had though that he had a moment on top of a moment you know what I mean he had a sort of I guess in rap you would think of it as a sort of emeritus moment where was that? We recognize the two chains had been long enough in he and we also all realized that he's deceptively old and so everyone was just like yeah to changes elder statesman now. Yeah I mean yeah. Basically. Care One. We he somehow graduated to that stat. Like yeah. He also like he has graduated to having Justice League VIZSLA and his record, he has like old like Rafferty go to the league that the rule the world record was that Justice League I can't remember was that cool and dry. How am I it? Sounds more characteristic where we yeah. But anyway, it doesn't matter like I do. Like the the point is that I'd I'd love to change deeply however this was a lopsided match-up. However however. Because fat boy got songs. We Cross got songs come on a few days before this versus battle happen when it was announced immediately went to ringer slack and I said the people who organized this are masochists right. To changes great but to chains is not to change is a lanky. Okay. Pal. Riding. You like I understand at like as a person as a person who had the Rick Ross grunt as his text message tone for. Two years. I'm saying that you need to chill out what I'm saying no, but I'm I'm asking I'm asking, did you study the concept of inertia in high school because that's that's crosses physical advantage against two chains is. Right right but all that aside. You know and it's making me not WanNa take your point because you 'cause you be in like this about it but. To as best moments are on other people's songs like or they are like obscure mix tape because. I mean like I am immediately thinking of his versus fighting and the club by in this a song from I twenty like you don't even remember who that is like. The. The fact that there are few songs that Tuesday's really carries on his own and also like if I can. Keep it a stack fifty with you. The big radio hits are not really my favorite to that way to put it to, and especially because the big radio hits chains are kind of all over the place and so they're hard to build a coherent like theory of the case of two genes.

Is Apple dying?

"I want you to bring in our next guests. I've been to an apple apple Amazon all morning, and I think you've got some great insights here. But I got one story I'm standing on Fifth Avenue. With one of the great giants of early Apple Analysis. Lawrence Haverty of Putnam and of Gabelli, and everyone around us was talking about the death of Apple and Larry have already stood. Next to be and he said, Tom, it is total baloney. Larry. However, he was right 10 years ago, telling that might have been the 1st 2nd 3rd 4th Exactly. We've done that. I think we've done it five times since it's well joining us Now we're lucky to have a meet Dario Nardi ever caught outside Apple analyst with us right now, I made how on Earth do south, $26 billion worth of iPhones. Or the world simile Shut down. You know, That's a great question. I think it's a combination ofthe perhaps having the right product launched. I see a lower price product. But importantly in the apple management extensively about this The benefits of the economic stimulus that kind of permeated through the ecosystem. For them. Something is a combination of those two. But for the one of the really make it, perhaps to Corbett, where we've all been fixated on how public cloud off from his data centers are the new narrative. Perhaps the importance of Apple and its ecosystem is also gone up, especially from a consumer standpoint, so I mean, let's be really clear about this. Is this a consumer staple something you have to have or luxury goods company that leverage the massive fiscal stimulus of the last few months? It's somewhere in the middle of this right now. It is definitely a higher prize Luxury. Good, aspirational product. There's no denying that right. You could buy a cheaper for me. Goodbye, Cheaper piece if you want it. So there is a luxury element to this, but it has also the same time become business people built for individuals that work everything delivered in the stats. Apple Hod I thought with fairly impressive, which is 50% of the Max and iPad was the first time buyers ever 75% of Watts was sold to the first time buyers ever. Wow. I mean, that is tremendous, and it really highlights the importance of the hardware aspect of apple. Even though a lot of people were saying heading into this year, This had to become more of a services company. They had to get more revenue. From their iTunes and there are other services that was in line with expectations didn't have the massive beat of the other hardware focused aspects. What do you take away from that going forward? Yeah, you keep it up services are field was up 15% of the no, Not not not a terrible number, but clearly not the way it's been going in the past. I think the reality of services It's a massive business today. There are lots of puts and takes to it. And so what they saw was perhaps the advertising business licensing business. There is actually a ghoul, um, and apple care business, which is effectively the Newport Those those products of those services were declining. A bit more faster, did not grasp the flipside was things like Apple music. Things like APP store did much better if it was a bit of focus. Your tale of two cities. But you step back and think about this just keeps validated the point that this is diversity at scale. And even if you don't see services are iPhones rate, things like Apple Watch Variables and Max are doing better. I mean, I've been looking for an entry point on Apple for seven years, and I'm still searching for myself. A January 1st, mate, I want you to tell me the kiss and kiss January 1 return on Apple. This would 10% dividend growth. And also with that massive, persistent share buyback program, and I locked in for an 8% return day one. You know the buy back alone, a TTE least for the next four years. It's not longer probably will give you about a 6% return that she ever doctor will be about 6% right? You know, the dividend yield. Given the stock has improved. Paramount is about a one person today it's in the ZIP code. It's about 7% return between buybacks and evidence that you get annually. I look at this folks and just extraordinary. What was just said. They're about a 7% return day. One is well. Tim Cook spoke about the social issues. That they are not zero sum. Anybody in economics knows that that is back to Torsten Veblen. Is Apple, adding to society or they just stealing share from everything else out there that can't compete. Um I would imagine that they are more adding to the society. Worse is not, And you know, if you look at Apple's market shit, it is not a large number by any means any metric that they're playing right? Attend a video eating what Apple is done what others have done. Perhaps make things more productive, more interactive or efficient. Everyone benefited from that transition if you may, but I don't think that Taking anything away. That probably added to the society. We tried to have this conversation in the last Lets do it again. What's behind this stock split? Well, I think the official's times was, this makes it more accessible for investors will stand. Julie, not if it matters right. It doesn't create much economic well hear the end of the day, right? If I own one Charlotte for Chester. It's a bit of a non event. From our perspective From economic perspective. It's a non event. But their take is it helps the smaller retail investors more so we should do it.

It was like I don't know. The bar turned into bars like I just. Started writing one line were turned into two lines, and then that would turn into verse and then basically. I just started writing like my first mix tape, which was journey of an MC, and that's really how Robin Hood was birth, you know I would back and forth trying to figure out like the right name, and what would make the most sense you know to my community, but really for myself. I just wanted something that represented who I am and who? I'm really focused on trying to be. How I'm trying to uplift my community, so that's really kind of came from and I had to change the I two a y. you know funded up a little bit. Yep. That's right and I. I grew up in Philadelphia so I. I grew up in the hood. You know so. My thing has always been like taking the poverty going from poverty to prestige. Growing up in Philadelphia in some of the roughest areas, just being an impoverished community, and then being able to go all the way to an Ivy League institution, so. I learned a lot. In that timeframe you know, and so I just wanted to bring that to the music in India better. To uplift inspire, so you know that's where we are. Well, you know. You definitely did not to draw any comparisons to you guys, but one of my one of my favorite artists is eve. And say. Right and I liked the way and see what I liked about your music to of because go you know filling ham villa some of these days I, like I'm pumping yours now on apple music by the way you guys can get on Apple Music and soundcloud and we'll talk about different projects in a minute. But the RAW news that you having your lyrics just to be exposed to me I find your unique about hip hop in artists like yourself that are not afraid to go there listen. Trying to keep my heart, yeah! I was just very very daring at. You're willing to do that. Yeah I mean like in my my most recent. EP which is called Truth Teller I have a song called hip hop is honest, and if you listen to the hood, that will yeah, yeah, so the hook is hip. Hop is honest. Speak, the truth detects never need invalidate the bar. Say Next so basically. You know just a little bit. But that that it's really about being honest, and I had this thing that I say which is, keep it hot and is that means honest, open truthful. And so those are just little principles that you can take into your relationship, you know if you have a significant other or just your relationships with family friends you with yourself is just being honest and open and truthful about how we go about our day and for me, because music is such a huge part of it, it's like how can I not keep it real with my bars? You know I had to keep it real with everything else. You know like what the acting. If you see a scene that I'm in or film that I'm in, and it's not honest. You know off the bed. You know so. Yeah, that's true.

Apple faces two EU anti-competition probes

"European Union anti-trust authorities have launched to formal probes into other apple violated competition laws through its apple pay service as well as its APP store Brussels. Bureau chief Dan Michaels has more. The commission's case began in part because of complaints from spotify, which is a music service. Apple has its own music service and spotify felt that apple was using the platform to promote apple music against spotify and other these dirty. Some others have followed on with with similar complaints alongside this, the commission is concerned that apple is doing something similar with apple pay one of their concerns is that. Listeners of used apple pay. They would know that there is a touch as service you can have with apple pay, but other providers of payment services that might use the overall apple platform can't access that no touch option. danzas regulators the apple's actions as part of a pattern that these gigantic tech companies may be abusing their dominance as both platforms and service providers. The concern is that. Apple Amazon facebook Google are so big and now reach into so many areas of the Internet and the devices that we use that they're not just. A service they have become gateways, and they enter the companies that operate these these platforms and these gateways become gatekeepers France part. Apple says it's building marketplace and that it hasn't done anything wrong.

"You don't get the deal. I'm just realized exactly right. And so if you ignore annual plans then you've got some more leeway of what you can do with a month-on-month bundle and that it could be that the bundles Kinda like going annual annual but paying with the month during the playwright there too. But it's the one thing that I think that I was certain on with the bundled situation before Td Plus Launch and R K launched is that. There's no way that they would lock the service with a bundle up front that they they'd want to save the Bundle pricing in four when they want to grow the audience from what they can like peak at and you want to sell it for as much as you can for long you can before you start giving away stuff and you know the annual biased light out. Yeah that is played out the annual Pyan for TV plus was prize but also was one year free of service and that won't continue John Beyond the first year for most people. I mean it's it's a limited situation and it's also true for the free Td Td plus with apple music. And I think maybe is related to the servers that they go through to verify that you're in college working toward a degree but it maxes out at forty months so you don't get you can't if you keep going to school you can't keep getting that race. Oh Yeah and they do have asterisks that. The Free T. even pluses limited time. Only anyway so they could remove some point. Exactly you just got about having Yeah and the thing with them you you get the TV the TV bundle with one year. Free like the Dakotas Iowa Web Undo. Right where you get. TV for you at the moment that's not going to stack. Can you want renew and the next time you ought young another year. They have a lot of levers to play with like when next September around if they want to they could say why you buy apple device and you you get another year to play with right. They the deal as it stands today could change depending on their situation so if they WANNA keep if they're not happy with the amount of TV plus people have on board by September. They could just you know. Hit the reset button and say well if you buy another device get another year of free and they can just do again if if they want to Even though the current rules don't allow that you know tons of conditions subject to change so they can change yeah limited to just iphone not include the apple. TV The IPAD if they wanted to for regarding the bundle it definitely seems like something that would if it does happen it would be like a September thing. Right like a full unveiling because then it they can do it alongside the phones and this time next year the Apple WPRO TV plus content library will be Mojo. I felt like if they did it in March here because because the thing is if you do it much used to having loads of people getting for years of tea plus anyway. So it's like you're you know you kind of have to wait out the the free a situation so if they are going to big book bundle then in my head to be thinking like September timeframe and there's no guarantee that they will do a bakery bundle just because they're getting these leeway signed into the contracts. They could just stopping mini bundles. Where you can get to services for two dollars teeny plus music? Then you get two dollars off something like a thing where they throw everything in one big poll. That's just you know what people expect them to do based on Amazon prime and stuff but as we twitter about four Amazon prime it profitable so it seems like something that was not going to. You know. Just call Amazon prime straight up because they WANNA make money off this thing so that you could see situations.

"But he won't reveal what that plan is. And I again, I just come back to the idea that. Apple music is his success because apple made a bunch of deals with carriers. Right. Like Verizon gives you apple music. Apple pre-owneds it around the world has similar deals, but like apple music's the preloaded, and you get it for free with your carrier that goes a long way towards boosting your thing. Apple maps is not competitive who I cloud as a paid storage service is not quite as useful as the other paid search services. They're gonna put out this TV service. It's it sounds like what they're going to do is like make some free content with Oprah or makes them contact with Oprah. And then sell you some channels subscriptions to like, Hulu and HBO and down the line and like aggregate that together. Like. The problem with apple services narrative is that their services aren't competitive with their competitors. And they're all they're late to market on some of them. The only one that is foreign away. Like the most the best service of in the market is I message which is locked the iphone. So it I stand by that. By the way, I think I message is absolutely terrific. It's I know him locked in. I'm like safely ensconced in this while garden, but that shit works. Really? Well, like like, really, well, and I know it's private, and they don't have any interest in putting chat bot into it. And making me turn off the invasion like it works. So there there's just like. One of the things that apple said yesterday was our revenue in China was down because they the Chinese government stopped approving games in the app store. And it's like that had a material impact on their revenue because most of the services money that they make is like candy crush gems in like inept purchases games,.

"If all services heading Alexa will year default service when asked to play music if music library, and we're going to swipe and to get to apple music, apple music wants to hear your one figure tab, apple music selected and now that you set to your default. So anytime he acts Alexa for amusing. It will use apple music by default instead of using the whatever. Description you have chosen before if he didn't have one ill, go straight back to Amazon music. So that way we asked for a particular music always pull from apple music. Instead a now that we have that set up. Let's head on over to our Amazon echo device in this case. I have an echo dot over. I solicit go ahead and implement our first command see if it works. Alexa, play county stars by one Republic counting stars by one Republic from apple music. Okay. That works. Stop it. Gene. Alexa about stomp. You could hear or heard you just for yourself is said it was playing this in this on apple music. So it was very specific where it was pulling the music from. So that is just Pacific asked for a song. Let's try and artists. Well, just use. My son example, Alexa. Play Riley, the musician Riley the musician from apple music. Okay. Alexa, stop. So those two examples eight you can also play playlists. Yes. So few specific playlist of you developed, whatever I have quite a few essentials that I put into my playlist library, for example. Let's use this. Alexa, play the eagles essential playlist. Eagles essentials from apple music. There we go. So it does play playlets. Alexa, stop if any time. It doesn't say apple music. If it doesn't find something or didn't hear you're right. It will default back all the way down to the Amazon music. So if you don't hear the apple music part, you can always say play something from apple music in specific. So you can basically say this for example, Alexa, play living on the prayers by Bon Jovi on apple music living on a prayer by Bon Jovi from apple music. So it's not playing the song. And I was specific. So stop here. Alexa. Stop. So those are the different example. So you can ask her in those things or you can ask you specifically what you want to play from in this case is apple music. Now, there are three things I want to let you know. And that is number one. You do have to have an apple music subscription. So in order to use this or use this feature you'll have to have a subscription to apple music, number two this at the time of this podcast is that this is only going to work on the actual Amazon echo devices any third party devices such as the Sonus or smart TV's that used the Alexa will not be able to work at this time, very soon. Hopefully, Amazon has said that will make sure that all thirty party devices will work for apple music. Lastly, and a big note is that this is not available to all countries at this time of the podcast. So hopefully as some point when Amazon decided to allow up music all across a platform all around the world that will be soon to become an well that's going to do to how at apple music to your Amazon echo device. As you go to the right talking. Alexa, play music on an apple music. Alexa, play today's on apple music. Alexa, plates one radio on apple music. Those are the mini various things you can do. I'm going to make one more change. This is probably a big one in case you want to implement this. Obviously we want apple. To be our default music for our Amazon echo now to do this. You'll have to get out of this. So we'll go to top left back button. Double tap on back is music back button. And then we're gonna swap to right into we get to the count settings account settings. "Like, I know you've been listening to apple music Christmas classics recently, Christmas classics and classic Christmas. Different different. They really are the I'll love the friends features like the fringe login to prominent is right below the four mixes. And it's like if I see know I just populate who I follow have a big variety. I have no idea what they like whether chases I just want to see a them for a different reason. What music that they like and people follow me as well. And I love seeing oh, I didn't really like this kind of basic. That's really cool or I kind of like that artist. There's do stuff from there. But I find it that way. I find that. I use the friends features like the four you mixes are great I rarely go to the browser tab and like just like look for stuff. But the friends I think he's the friends stuff as much an apple music as a us curated playlist on beats music, and even those those still exist on apple music, like I don't I don't tend to look for like artists playlists or like the ones that apple makes anymore is a lot of dislike what her fridge and sink to recommendations by that by that method, and I really enjoy it. And there's a holistic where you can subscribe to play list that friends make on their own and share, and I've I've got a few things where like if I have a good new music mix or favorites mix that I like all save it and label for the the week came out, and then I'll share my profile people can go and find that. Or if I do like like each. A half marathon ride on the playlist for the ride ahead of time. And then I'll label it give it some artwork. Then something connected to the race or something and people go to profile they can subscribe to that list or save to the library. And I love those a load because it's like. Someone added your playlist their library. You get alert for us. Like, that's kinda neat. You know? And I'm just like music. I like players that I made for myself. It's sharable someone could add a library. I love social features. And there's no like paying connects label for all of that is just in time for it. Right. Yeah. Pov apple music. It's really the the shed playlists. I think some people don't exist because they don't show up permanently like on the full year eight it doesn't show you like playlist from your friends you have to dig in to see them. Yeah. So that's, but but even when you making share pilots, which is like the most amount of work that you can do on apple music, socially. Stew barely anything. Would you give it a name? And that's about it. And then you share you done like. The passive music. It just you don't have to do anything. You don't have to like. And you don't have to get any notifications back either. You don't have to worry that someone's commented on someone's done there. So someone's done that or someone else's listening to it like if you go onto the four fade, you say, oh, they they listen to like, you can just look and see oh, I was listening to this last week. Now there listen to it, maybe message them, and you'd have to message inside the music silo because it doesn't exist. There's no shot or anything. So what do you do you to message to face? But you twit you it in somewhere else, and you just start a conversation. Based on just an end, the streaming music. And this is a concept that I think of was big in America, but lost FM have you heard of that website last? Yes. So that was huge like secondary school stuff like ten years ago now eight five years ago. In the UK like it was a huge thing. It was called like scrambling. And it would just upload the music you played in a big list, and you could see friends listen to and that was like massive. And again is because it's auto Matic. You already tweeting. You're ready face with posting. And you just have a stream of music and us look at. And and it's that simple. It doesn't get credit because there's nothing to it. But that's what makes it good. Yeah. I wish there was an APs to thing. I wish I could see the like the equivalent of friends listen to like apps my friends.

"This rolls back though to another one of the complaints about the you know big music services like spotify and apple is the discovery systems you know and again that's i kind of like apple music because i am discovering new artists but the there's often a question is are they doing enough for up and coming artists are unknown artist or unsigned artists right how does an unsigned artist who doesn't have a label in there you know talking to apple executive saying here's here's our next big star we want you to put them featured on the on the homepage we'll only g you know they're not ones you can go in and say i'm going to do a taylor swift exclusive launch music right no one right so how does that planned all this to should so i guess the question often that's thrown out to our community and author this out to you is should apple be doing more for those artists do they need to do more they obligated to do more for those artists they're not obligated but it sure would be really cool if when you're doing your music discovery if if artists independent artists who also had their music featured are included on apple music carry the same weight in the algorithm or in the curated playlists as the star is if you start a a taylor swift song right yeah in apple music and like all right well yeah find more stuff like this will maybe find some other female solo acoustic musicians who are independent or will it just go to like to milica bello and then over here at a demi levato and just other pop right pop starlets it'd be really cool if they carry the same way especially if you.

"And it's going to be in san jose this year it's so june fourth through june eighth we didn't even mention the now but san jose what's the venue called because the it's not mosconi than i'm wondering what because mosconi is under construction maybe they finished but i think apple just doesn't have enough room it's going to be at the mckenry convention center in downtown san jose for june eight but i feel like that might be the first time they're having something there i think the original ww dc was in san jose all one's been out mosconi that's if my if my apple nerd trivia is correct yeah that's super interesting i i'm yeah i'm looking for san jose's kind of canoe change atmosphere i mean that's i like when they change it up i'm also looking forward to the live talk show i always look forward to that every wdc guber this he's gone three years in a row with with interviewing and apple executive or more than one apple executive so i hope he keeps that tradition this year because it's always fun getting the apple exacts thoughts on the keynote after tap nd in gruber usually has some pretty good questions for them fact checking thank you kapiti a it has been at the san jose convention center from nineteen eighty nine to two thousand two to finish out mosconi last year we have we are twenty sixteen we had bill graham and then last year in this year was at san jose convention center wow okay so it's bounced around i mean i feel like apple really needs to have its own i know it has this steve jobs theater for for other announcements but they don't want all those developers snoopy.

"Skype here that my biggest fear is like they need to come up with a so they have the tv app which i think was is a smart idea because it's on every device on well almost every device it's not necessarily on your computer you've got it on your irs and apple tv that i really think that they need to come out with a new marketed service cannot be through i tunes in needs to be really lightweight and dedicated to just streaming content and so that they can go all in as they state because you know i have to say even though i'm glad that we both didn't watch that stupid reality show aren't even called battle of the dried we tried i think that the barrier to entry of being an apple music subscriber stop me also and i just feel like if you have a dedicated service for video content you'll get more people interested especially if they can sign up for a trial and or least at least yourself you know that's an interesting thing is apple going to add the likes to simplify are they going to add one more service you know how to get i cloud just to get apple music yes to get apple match and now you have to get some tv streaming service probably because that's where they're trying to make a lot of money is on their services revenue and so i don't know i really don't want to go through that the tv app it's already baneful enough and tv os is already terrible but i could totally see them just having it be available for only apple tv subscribers or something silly like that kind of like how they lock off all of the exercise and fitness differ apple watch which is totally arbitrary but somehow they still do that it's gonna be interesting to see where they put this i think abba abba music such a bad idea even if it's the same.

"Have you tried multiplayer on like over watch just to see how it would perform i've tried it on divorce now but i it was good but i haven't tried it on the shadow tech one interesting now shadow tech comparably priced whereas now is actually free for beta right now so i'm i haven't given my credit card you force now at all but shadow tech i think it's like fifty bucks a month for unlimited streaming while yeah yeah i mean you know as i kind of feel like it's back when you people i started getting internet at home you know dsl was expensive you know way more expensive than dial up a kinda feel like it's that where you're paying a big premium for this but i feel like it's just gonna get cheaper and cheaper and more and more common i'm really excited for shadow tech's pacific in that it does it their play on coming out with is apps so being able to like open up your windows in desktop on a pad or iphone and connected bluetooth remote or bluetooth keyboard or something and being able to play games on the wing does games on your pad sounds absolutely insane yeah that sounds amazing and speaking of streaming just going right into topics here eddie cue is at south by southwest this this past month and he says that apple is quote on quote all in on a regional content streaming and i just don't put it in apple music just don't lease.

"Apple music's available for android isn't it yes it is and also we will go through apple tv and this would provide another way for people to maybe wanna buy an apple tv 'cause i don't think you're selling great shakes of those i think it's too expensive i don't think it offers enough differentiation other than the apple content and that's the big thing you know i have the the fourth generation apple tv have not butter for k motto because i love my tv too much to replace it so at on of where ktvhe but man i loved that fourthgeneration apple tv and especially now that it has amazon prime support so all all the the big things that i want to see i have on the single box so i have my my apple music and although video content that goes along with that i have a everything that i through the i tuned store i have netflix of amazon prime a add who lose their and hbo at the i'm i'm set so for me it's like the perfect box but i can't justify upgrading to the four k model because i don't have any thing that can take advantage of the view wallaby now i have a foretaste said here from vizi oh that i would have reviewed a few weeks ago accept because the newer sets have the legs on the sides instead like a center stand it was too big for my tv stan all overshot my tv stand by about three inches so i again new tv stand not expense cheaper stent real cheap and like that and i may arrangements with video to also get one of their sound bars and the reason is i was using a sound base from zeev fox okay but the tv set long work with it for the same reason it doesn't work with a stand the legs overshoot it so the sound based his going away and they've got this great sound bar allegedly i haven't seen it yet but physio has a sound bar for.

"Content and locally or locally downloaded or porters from agents content yeah i can see during that i i think the reason they don't frankly though is because it at least an apples view it shouldn't have to matter right whether song is coming over the internet or the song is on your hard drive it should really matter where it's coming from his laws same song the problem is at least historically with apple music is at some time says things are not the same which is really what scouten power users upset in the past because sometimes you know you have a maybe a alive version of a song or a cover gets confused with the version that you have on your on your disc that you is what you really want to listen to yeah and in fact local libraries and carefully organizing your you're missy khyber he is still a huge deal for a lot of people i know the most of us we have moved to just following apple newseek on twitter and streaming the new release from apple music's for you page or listening to your favorites makes i know that a lot of people do that i do that i don't manage my music iberia anymore but seal for a lot of people you know they're still folks a lot of folks that like to use ipods none non ias device type of ipods the old ones we the thirteen doc connector right if ever a if you watched the the movie to call the baby driver mmhmm that steel steel iconic and their seal a lotta people than daylight to have a separate music device without the overhead of a subscription of cashing of streaming you have file it's always there you take gap you listen to music so i still think having a local music library is a big deal i just dumb thing the way that apple is dealing with two deep two different types of music library is a good approach.
