Peacock is live: Heres everything you need to know

"He caught. The last of the big streaming services has finally launched nationwide, but at joint a crowded room, streaming services, including busy, plus and that Blix. So how does this stack up? I'm Roger, Chang into your daily charge. Beckley I don't have to answer that question because with me. Is Our media expert, John? Salzman and software services. Reviewer Alison. Danisco, welcome both you. Thanks all right so John with you. He is live after having launched in Beta mode to caucus users a couple months ago, so so give us a land now. What is the streaming wards landscape? Look like this is basically the last of the big new services to land at least as far as we know. We had apple and Disney plus come in November than we had depending if you consider it bigger. Bigger not clubby came in April followed by Hbo Max in May, and now finally we have peacock, and it's a little bit different than the rest of those, because it not only is, it has big budget originals big back catalog, like most of those other services do, but it's also doing some other things that are digging a little bit when the others I it has. It's going to have live news. Life sports other sorts of news and sports replays highlights that kind of thing and crucially has a free tear at as a tier with advertising we can watch about two thirds of the catalog just by signing up and not paying anything there are ways you can take out the ads and unlock the full catalogue if you WanNa pay, but having that sort of on ramp that free just sign up and start watching thing. It's something that these other big services in the streets haven't tried yet. Yeah, I would just sort of generally speaking. Have we talked about the free cheering a bit but? In terms of these other players out there have any cover merged as must have service to rebel Netflix's certainly a streaming service, the new streaming service that's landed with the biggest slash by far is Disney plus. One media analyst when it launched last year there was one media analyst and widely followed one who called it one of the greatest product launches of all time. To give you a sense. Track Google search trends around these launch dates, and the Google search trends for Netflix are a good baseline. You know it's established. It's always very popular as a search gives you a good baseline of how other services stack up and people, search addressed most of these other services. They haven't crossed the level of net search interest, even on launch days, whereas Disney plus like quadrupled the amount of Netflix interests on its launch day now it's come down since then, but among these new services Disney is the one to beats, and nobody has even come close so far. Are also you've been testing out the service. How has the experience on Peacock Ben? Overall I've been having a really positive experience with peacock so far to be honest. I wasn't expecting all that much. Since we do already have Sumani streaming services, but the fact that it has this free tier is John mentioned where you can still watch. Tons of movies and TV shows with ADS does make it stand out from competitors like Netflix and Hulu it gives you something for free that similar to say a Pluto TV or a to B, but with this premium streaming. Streaming service interface, so it looks really good, and you also have the opportunity to upgrade if you want to. It's pretty easy to navigate. It has a few quirks, and there are some features that are still missing but overall. It's a solid free surface at launch. If you don't mind watching those ads in terms of that that user experience that the navigation the experience itself. How does it stack up against DISAPP- loss or Netflix's or some other more Polish premium services so in. In my mind, peacock isn't quite trying to be a Netflix or Hulu or HBO Max. It has a similar tile layout, and you can browse things by TV shows and movies and get recommendations, but it's kind of doing something different, and it's probably not going to replace any of those others for you, but it's something you can get for free to have more options. It reminds me a little bit of Amazon prime video in a way like on that one you can get. Get, a lot of shows and movies included as part of your prime subscription, but you'll find others mixed in that. You do have to pay for so on peacock. You'll find some shows with a little purple feather in the corner, which means you have to upgrade premium to watch them, but they're so plenty of free options to. And since we're in this time of economic uncertainty, you know free services a welcome option, even if you don't watch it every single day, right? Joan. Beyond this free tier is there anything else about peacock that makes stand out, or the folks should know about? Yeah, definitely, the frontier is obviously the first thing that people are going to encounter when they try to sign up and they realize they don't have to provide any sort of payment information. Start watching. But beyond that you know. Being in the pandemic, there's a lot of things that peacock wanted to have available right now for its launch that aren't a manifest really until next year or later, for example, the entire reason that it's launching right now in the middle of July is that originally peacock witches, NBC's streaming service thought they'd be able to piggyback on all the interest in the Olympics. That should be happening right now. Is the broadcasting partner for the Olympics in the United States, and so of course everyone remembers every Olympic season how there's just like blanket coverage on NBC. All of NBC's other cable channels. But because we don't have that until next year, that's a huge driver to get people interested and knowledgeable that that the service exists. That just doesn't exist right now. Also their originals. They have nine original series at launch, but just like everybody else all their production of new content. At least any live action content had to be suspended in March, and so they don't have as much in their pipeline. That's going to be ready to release win. They had hoped to release it as have if we weren't in this situation where everybody's lockdown the also could you break down the? Tiers, obviously, there's the free cheer that's at basement. What are you getting with those I? Think there's two different paid tears. He kinda run through them. And you actually get sure so in the free tear you get thirteen thousand hours of TV shows, Movies News Life Sports. Some of the biggest name shows you'll find. There are and Recreation, Thirty Rock, law and order. Order Svu but you know. Some of those are also currently on Netflix and Hulu to so there's some confusion there potentially, and you also know that the office won't be coming to peacock until January when it's calm when his contract with Netflix runs out, but in the meantime you'll also find current episodes of NBC shows one week later on that free tier. In terms of movies, you've got some big slightly older hits like Jurassic Park the Bourne identity, the Matrix and also newer kind of Oscar Z. ones like phantom thread and tally, and so for something. That's free. You'll probably find something. You WanNa Watch, but then you'll also find these two paid tears. One is five dollars a month which gives you access to the full Peacock Library which is about twenty thousand hours of TV, and movies, but you'll still see ads on that one. If you WANNA GO AD free. It costs ten dollars a month and you'll get still get that full libraries well. A few things you'll find on the premium tears, but not the free tier are all of the episodes of peacock originals, the major one launch being brave new world, and you'll also find more new movies and also next day access to new episodes of current. NBC shows one interesting thing that we haven't really seen before is that you'll get early access to some shows like late night with Seth Meyers and the tonight show. Show with Jimmy Fallon the night that they air, so you can watch them at eight PM instead of eleven thirty pm, but that would actually start until those shows are back in the studio and not running from home during the pandemic. Okay We've talked about this before, but they're just too many strips out there. They're all asking for money. Yes, peacock has a free tier, but there's clearly they want people to. Upgrade to these premium tears. How does market support so may services Comey Services? Can a household actually afford to pay for so from the experts that I've talked to and the research that they've been doing? It seems like there's a couple of interesting things going on one is that the total number of streaming services that people are subscribed to and are trying is going up now. That's partially because in the. The pandemic so many entertainment choices that we normally would that normally would keep us from streaming aren't happening right now, and we're all locked up in our homes, and so it's the primary way other than regular TV. Your needs that you would entertain yourself when you're stuck at home anyway, that's to do with it, but even before the pandemic. We were starting to see that all. This wave of new services what starting to tap higher, the amount of services people were trying and also subscribing to. But what we've found in the pandemic from the research that I've seen as that people are also much more willing to cancel subscriptions so. It's mostly price sensitivity factor as you know. Jobless numbers are soaring, and as people are reconsidering howl. They dedicate their money every month. Once they hit the point where a free trial ends or this ends. They're more willing to quit. Because they become more educated on other options that don't require payment that conserve their entertainment needs, you know. Alison, she mentioned to be There's other ones like that. That are free services that peacock sort of straddles the line with people are realizing that they have those options to if they don't WanNa, keep paying

"And exciting and fresh and cool that you can use and that we're a part of bringing that into the world in 10 years. Who knows? It will be some new channel Some new format. It's exponential, right. So five's not even a good idea. In this world. I find we're better. I'm like, you know, 3 to 5 year cycles typically, like over 15 years Now, if I looked like the history of the business That first idea of distributing short form comedy took five years to pay off the next model of greeting cards with the subscription business took five years to pay off, and now we're starting to see we're gonna be pretty prominent in the message. Opening of my message grapple with the next operating system that's been in the works for three years, and it will take some time for consumer adoption happened. So I'm kind of in this and it's good because you start to maturity is don't get kind of paranoid or of tighter. Kind of give things room to really part of their new of Iowa's Yes. So yeah, we're actually in the New Iowa last message where you can actually access content within my message. Apple feature Jib jab in their keynote when they announce that in June and you can expect to see us in some some interesting places that next couple weeks really exciting. What kinds of layers of employees you have. Yeah. You know the money people that smart But you have the funding. People have money, people. Yeah, we're pretty flat. I mean, were you thinking of hire somebody for a specific deal? We heard someone were first on the heart side. It's like a very like selective recruiting effort that we do that I like to think like we hire Artists the way Google hires engineers, you know, I mean, it's like my brother does a tour of the top schools. It's a very kind of small community of folks, but then we have engineer you know, we also have, like great people on engineering, product and marketing. And all those it's really like just about the company values. Are you passionate? Are you innovative? Dependable dedicated is the culture of the culture of Jim Jab. I think it's about innovation it's about and it's about agility. It's about fun like the idea that like We moved really fast, and we have to run. You have Tio and a lot of times. People are surprised because we've been. We're not a startup or not like five guys. Gotta venture capital check like we've been around 17 years like we have a really like a nice large subscription business. We haven't raised money since 2008. But at the same time like we're constantly adapting, So some of the new things we're releasing with Iowa's 10 for I message are products that were just invented in June, And when I was 10 came out, we shift our whole product roadmap. We throw everything out the window and we turned and we focus on that. So I think for company our size, sometimes, like the agility and the way we move is a little surprising. What? We could do that because we're pretty flat. A lot of individual contributors. Not a lot of middle man when you're asking for your first time funding. What do you say? Yes, so well. The first time was friends and family. And that was really about the idea that the Internet was going to be a really important channel for entertainment. And that way we're going to be first. But then we raise our first like VC, around 6.4 million from players Venture partners in 2007. And it was really like by then we had established a really big brand video was becoming a really important part of the Internet. And the premise was we were going to work with brands to produce high quality comedy entertainment for these new channels like YouTube and all the other video district distribution channels that were opening six months after I raise that money, I realized it was a really bad business model and to go back to the investor and say, Hey, We talked about this, but this isn't gonna work..

Gun Violence Spikes in NYC, Intensifying Debate Over Policing

"A New York. Eleven died when we're gunshot wounds and the last four weeks New York. City has seen an increase in shootings. Compared to last year, there was one especially. especially heartbreaking shooting on video of a father gunned down in broad daylight while walking hand in hand the six year old daughter, the Bronx, but it isn't just gun violence troubling the big apple in the past two weeks, there was a grisly knife attack in the subway and a stabbing in Brooklyn, following the George Floyd protest against police brutality. You were police department disbanded. It's plain clothes unit, which has been involved in a disproportionate number of fatal officer involved shootings last week at NYPD captured a video, mocking the new overly cautious policing tactics being implemented in New York City a following the nationwide protests against police brutality in. In early June New York City Mayor Bill Blogs, you announced. He's moving resources from the NYPD to youth and social services as part of our city's budget. Mayor de Blasio proposes cutting nearly one billion dollars, and then PD are presentative. Alexandria Cossio Cortez scoffed at the proposal calling it a disingenuous illusion thing. defunding police means defunding police on Thursday during virtual townhall because you cortes talked about the uptick crime in new. York City, pointing out constant new NYPD hasn't happened yet, and there's still an increase in crime, a proposed theories for the crimewave and asked do we think has to do with the fact that there's record unemployment. Unemployment, in the United States right now as she continue the fact that people are at a level of economic desperation, we have not seen since the great recession and the Democratic Socialists hypothesize the increase in York City. Violence could stem from Renton demands and people shoplifting bread. Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren't paying their rent and are scared to pay the rent. She said, and so they go out, and they need to feed their child, and they don't have money, so you maybe have to. They're putting the position. They feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry that nights. Okay so let's break this down Carrie. Did she offer any information? Suggesting the shoplifting of bread is on the rise. No no, she did not. Offer any information or proof that people are being evicted McCain pay their rent now. Okay so I've got Dr Carson on today. He the Hudsucker secretary as you know, and he's the one who talks about foreclosures and Ranson evictions and stuff like that, and of course as you know because you're a smart news person of fifty, some odd years old. You know that there had been abatements for people paying rent or getting addicted or getting foreclosed on right. They literally can't be evicted, or it'd be foreclosed on under the rules. Put Out by Hud Housing Urban Development. Run by Secretary Ben. Carson, so we don't have any proof because it isn't happening. People are being shot and killed in the streets of New York. It's. It's not over buying bread or not for stealing bread, but there's no proof of anybody shoplifting more bread in new. York, so that's unverified and probably untrue, and there's certainly no proof of people being evicted or being foreclosed on because there are rules in place protecting people right now, but I guess the broader question along with why the beep is this person in Congress? Has To be wife. She saying it. Because it's also ally that there has been no defunding or disbanding a police in new. York 'cause you just said if the the crime unit has been disbanded. The Crime Unit that actually was on top of the most violent crimes, and stopping is no longer there, therefore the violent criminals who are not stealing bread. "How raccoon outwitted fax. raccoons set up in a tree near the lake where bear had lost his tail. Raccoon had seen Fox play his sneaky trick unbear- and he did not like it. It's very well known that Fox. And Raccoon played many tricks on each other. Foxes getting a big head, said raccoon. This must not be. His head must be made. Smaller some of that craftiness must be taken out of him. He's getting to. To Foxy! He thinks he has the cunning of all the animals and that no one can outwit him. I think it's time that someone plays a trick on him. Not many days later raccoon saw Fox coming down the trail. Raccoon was eating some juicy yellow apples that he found on a Trina far away. As soon as he saw Fox, he ran a tree and he began to smack his lips. Just at Fox had done before to bear with fish. delicious apples. What tastes so good? Asked Fox. Raccoon responded by throwing a fresh juicy apple right down to Fox. Fox looked at the apple and took a bite out of it. Delicious, sweet juicy, said Fox when he finished the last mouthful. Where did you get it? Raccoon told Fox how to find the apple tree. He must follow the trail along the river down the pine bluff that he must climb the bluff and run towards the setting sun until he came to an open field. In the center of that field stood a great apple tree. And it was filled with juic- yellow apples, but raccoon. You can climb the tree and pick your own apples. How can I get them off? The branches complained Fox. Oh, that's easy. Said Raccoon. Just back off to bow shots from the tree. And then lower your head like this. Run hard and but the tree with your head. You have such a big head. It will shake the tree so hard that all of the apples will follow at once. Do as I. Tell You and you will have all the apples you want. For a long time. Fox thanked raccoon and started at once he followed the directions exactly, and then he saw way ahead the apple tree. He was just getting ready to run when he got interrupted. Gang as It was the gold finches that he had helped before. Apparently, they still like to thank him all the time. The gold finches called all their other bird friends over, and told them to watch Fox as he was getting ready to take down the giant apple tree. Thank you little gold finches, but I don't have time for your now. I'm going to shake this. Apple Tree. Already in his mind, he began to see the apples falling like pine needles and feel the earth shake under his feet. Fox did just as raccoon told him one aero flight. He backed off, and then another, and then he closed his eyes, lowered his head, and ran swiftly over the thick grass, faster and faster, his four paws came as he kicked up dust and gravel and small stones. The tree grew larger and larger as he came up to it. He struck the tree as hard as he ever could with his great big huge head. And then. Thought. No apple spell. But a dizzy and dazed, foolish looking Fox collapsed to the ground. Different birds started laughing. Ha Said Sparrow. Said, Blue Jay Said Cardinal. Tax said the ducks. Said Eagle. He lay there until the next morning. And as the Sun rose ashamed, faced Fox was seen running towards the woods beyond the pine bluff. He carried his head low. He seemed to be playing. No more foxy tricks. And also his head seemed much. Much smaller.

A Tech Cold War Looms

"This week Britain's minister, Boris Johnson is expected to reverse a decision. He made in January to allow the Chinese telecom giant hallway to build part of the country's five gene at work. The British public deserve to have access to the best possible. Now if people oppose one brand or not. To tell us what's the alternative. Britain has come under enormous pressure from its biggest America which sees while way as a security threat. It's not the only Chinese firm that America views with suspicion. Last week Secretary of State Mike. Pompeo told Fox. News the government was considering banning the social media. APP TIKTOK. Owned by the Chinese firm by dense. We're certainly looking at it I. Don't want to get in front of the president, but it's something we're looking at. What would you recommend that people download that APP on their phones tonight tomorrow anytime. currently Boley if you want your private information in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. and American firms are caught to the geopolitical tensions between the world's two biggest economies. Google Microsoft and twitter all said they would stop cooperating with Hong Kong's authorities for the time being because of a sweeping new security law there imposed by Beijing. It all adds up to what's being called. A new Cold War fought on a digital battleground. For the last three or four years, people have talked about the tech. Cold War. Patrick Fouls is the economists business affairs editor. This strange thing is it's been hard to see evidence of much damage on the ground, and in fact, the companies like apple and Hallway in China. It's really been a golden era in some ways with record sales and profits over the last couple. Couple of years was become clear however in the last few weeks. Is The tech cold? War is really beginning to bite. And why is that? Why is that split becoming so much more certain now? Well I think what you can do is look at it at two speeds. The world of software and the Internet was never particularly linked up in the first place so. Chinese consumers can't use most American Internet companies and vice versa, and what we're seeing, there is the final tentacles are beginning to unwind really very quickly, and that's that's example. The TIKTOK BAN THE REFUSAL US tech companies to play ball with the new Chinese law in Hong Kong so that. World really splitting quickly. The thing that's taking more time is the heart where supply chains which are much much more rigid structures is many many hundreds of billions of dollars of equipment in the grand huge numbers of people being employed, and it's really very hard to untangle those quickly, but that does not seem to be happening as well partly, because of the American actions against Hallway, but also because China seems to be deciding okay, we're GONNA have to go alone here which means we're going to have to really ramp up investment, and so, how how prepared are the country's respective? Tech Industries to to make that split complete. Will in the wall, the softwares already in effect pretty much happened in the world of hauled where the answer is, people are beginning to get plans up and running so smick this Chinese semiconductor company not take that seriously in the past by its Western and Asian competitors, but now it's really raising very big box the ideas to supersize the production capacity and sophistication of semiconductors in China. That's a process that's underway. Similarly Wall Way in China is scrambling around to find alternative sources for the key components that it purchases from the West particularly American companies and over the next I think eighteen months will see a sense of whether that's possible. The one thing to make clear is there are some companies. Companies here which are just left in very uncomfortable positions. Apple in China makes over one hundred million dollars a day there on the simply no easy way for it to pick sides in. You know it depends on the US Amazon China similarly. TSMC, which is the huge Taiwanese semiconductor company that really dominates the industry to some degree. It depends on Chinese customers and American ones, and for those companies that are caught in the middle. There really is no simple answer to this, but if the big picture here is that each country has to build up its own set of software and hardware champions, that sounds expensive redundant I mean. How easy will it be for these countries to make those parallel systems? Well I think you can look at it in two ways. One is sort of finances of it almost an and just that you're going to have to duplicate. Supply chains to some degree and I think that could easily cost. Hundreds of billions of dollars to do is not impossible, and arguably within the scale of the overall economy is a super tolerable inefficiency. I think the other call St-, which is much harder to get to grips with is just the risk of this process spiraling out of control. And to give you two ways in which could happen, it could easily for example move from the world of tech to the world of finance with western Chinese banks subject to sudden private. BANS FREEZES OF ACTIVITY. A night could be much more destabilizing because the financial system is very sensitive to changes like that the other risk is just that this becomes the thin end of the wedge, and sooner or later we find out that suddenly American calls or Chinese toys, or a growing list of things deem to be of strategic importance I and instead of this really being an argument bat security, it just becomes an indiscriminate path of protectionism, the house, a huge economic cost, but on technology end of things that is inherently a global business. How do you think other countries are going to deal with this split as it happened? Well the assumption I think of many American policy makers is the world's default is to use Silicon Valley and one of the things that will happen is that assumption is tested a pretty painful way? It's clear that some very close American allies. Japan Australia possibly Burton will. Ultimately vast choose go with America, but I think we'll see. First of all. China's tech industry now has a very big sphere of influence that includes a lot of Asia where people will continue to use Chinese tech, and secondly that some big economies India's the obvious one may take a third off, and you know be equally hostile, friendly to America and shine. And really seek to play both sides off while developing their own indigenous capacity, so the end of the day. You're heading towards a world where America. Controls most of the world's technology, and then there's this Galapagos of China with its own systems. I think instead your heading to world, which is very fractured with the bulk of the world's population living in countries that use both systems and probably mistrust both to some degree. So. Is it sensible to ask who's likely to win the technical door? I. Think will see both superpowers do probably just find because they are huge. Sophisticated markets and the real losers will be the node countries that are sort of stuck between the two places like Taiwan Hall Sibley Career, where really it's impossible for them to pick sides, and where the own technology industry as a result is going to face a very difficult Erie. Patrick thank you very much time. Jason thanks for having me.

Apple might release two ARM-based MacBooks this year

"There are new Intel macintoshes in the pipeline that means they've designed them. They're ready to. They're going to still offer them new designs, probably a new I. Mac would be my guess, but we don't know but. They've said that they've also said. Our existing Intel computers and the ones we sell will be supported for years to come. I believe them on that, too. That's all we know, so everything else is speculation is my speculation. There will be a thirteen inch laptop and macbook pro this year. running on apple silicon. There will also be an Intel based I'm Mac this year next year. I would guess everything apple releases. Will be on the new apple chips and the apple chips. Here's the real the benefits. We pretty much can expect from the new apple chips. They'll use less power so if you have a laptop. You have an I mac, you said. No you have a laptop. The PRO macbook, pro. LAPTOPS, Yeah Yeah. I'm sorry I thought you, said I mak so the. Biggest benefit will be for laptops. You should get a much better battery life, maybe a day or two.

Is It a Good Time to Start a Marketing Agency

"Welcome to another episode of Marketing School I'm Eric Su and I'm Neil Patel and today we're gonNA. Talk about if it's a good time to start a marketing agency so right now just to give context for everyone we're in the middle of covert, and we are in the middle of riots and protests right now the united. States at least so you have a lot going on, so neil I'll go to you I. Do you think it's a good time? Why or why not? So whether? It's a bad economy? Good economy, a recession, or there's things that you. You can't control. It's life i. do believe overtime things do go back to normal. You know specifically I'm talking about things I it. Where eventually go away so I believe anytime is a good time to start a business. As long as you think you can provide value critic product, critic, good service, you know even though there's a lot of people who aren't spending money. There always is other people who are spending money. Can you get to make an you generate sales to neal's point? There's people that are doing really well right now. There's people that have been. been absolutely crushed. The people that are doing well right now are spending while I'll give you an example. You know if you're running a of streaming business right now. You're probably doing better right now. If you're doing online education, you're probably doing better right now. Depending on what you sell, if you're P, you're probably doing better right now. So all that to say is at a time where the biggest agencies in the World Command, the largest budgets, big contracts, and all that a lot of people that are working with these large agencies they don't necessarily want to. To! Pay those dollars anymore. They want an opportunity to work with smaller shops. And this is your opportunity to to prove yourself, and if you're willing to craft a really good offer and get your foot in the door where you're not necessarily going to charge a lot of money up front, but you're GonNa get all these. You know smaller deals with larger companies. When you know, they can pay a lot later. You establish that relationship you take advantage of the Times right now, 'cause. They're also looking to shop for a deal. So you know, here's your chance. and. You Know Eric I know you deal with a lot of agencies in your agency accelerated permanent. Lot of them are starting up right now in trying to grow. What are you seeing? Are People doing well right now or they struggling right now and mentioned that there's always people spending money, but what of the results people are getting right now? Okay, so that's what I was amazed all these people. People that are willing to pay for the agency accelerator program right now looking. They're looking to grow because our businesses are thriving, so we had this one individual. He's based in the UK and they focused on smaller businesses side five clients last week. They just make a couple of tweaks. Another growing faster and then there's people that are looking to to that are looking to make a change in. In their business, because one person was focused on hospitality, and that's been totally decimated, but he's changing his business model right now and all of a sudden he's. He's getting more clients so I would say the people that were working with right now is it's maybe not the best apples is because these are people that are doing well. That are investing in this. So that's the caveat I say but. But they are looking to be aggressive, and they are looking to grow, and they do see a lot of people reaching out to them for different various services that that they have I. Think again. Going back to the point is during a downturn right now. I think it's a perfect time to start a business. It's a perfect time to learn and make mistakes where it's not going to be. A big issue. If you make these mistakes, put it that way so. Now for the people because they're probably are people that you've seen. I don't know as many agencies as you, but you've probably seen. People also drop in revenue due to Kobe I know we have and we lost clients lost a lot of stuff that wouldn't have happened if covid wasn't around, you know even though people are losing revenue right now. How are you seeing agency? Survive right now in. What are you seeing them due to grow right now this environment. Yeah, so they're changing up their offering, so for example anybody that has an events type of agency. They've switched over the virtual, and it's not the same original revenue that they had before because live events. You make a lot more because they cost a lot more, but at least they can recover some revenue and name of the game with businesses to survive. They need to survive and need to be able to hold through this and you know they'll be good to go other people I can tell you some are. Are pivoting into product services like a lower tier. Maybe it's not the original pricing been finding a lot of people are actually taking them up on it, so I think this really applies for business across the board I. Think if you are adaptable and you can make changes quickly. You don't just sit there I think you're going to be fine at the end of the day, but if you complain about it and you blame people I near. You're out there. Doing stupid things than you're GONNA be in trouble. And then, if you yourself were to credit agency right now, and you didn't have your brand your traffic. What would you do to get going and generate your first client if not your first three clients? Yeah. I mean I've done this before us. I'll go right back to that in a second, but I do want to say to everyone. There's a tool out there called startup runway dot io, so depending on what size your at right now if you have a couple employs a couple contractors I. I do think it's really important freedom map out a three scenarios, so if you are able to remain flat suit money revenue drops, or if you dropped twenty five percent, and if you draw fifty percent, it's GonNa. Show you how many months of runway you have left, and that runway is basically going to guide you and that's going to help. Spur you tack Shen or spirit you into action so to your question Neil. If I were starting out today and turn it back over to you. I know Brad. Nobody knows why I'm back in the day. When I first started, I was worthy attention was so I knew a lot of people were hanging on on asking Seo. Questions I think to saturated now, but now the question have to ask yourself is where all these people hanging out now. If I know my target market is hanging out on link, okay, can I make link did reach out to these people Lincoln. If they're hanging out on, you know in other areas like facebook groups. That I'M GONNA go over there, so I'm going to. To Go to where the attention is, I am going to be posting content at the same time. What happens is even right now with Lincoln. When people engage with me, I look at all the titles that engaged with me, and sometimes my team has access Wellington dill. Look at the titles as well and they'll be okay. This guy looks I might want to work with. I'm going to add him and I'm going to engage with him, and then that way you end up building relationship, and that's a really good way to build your client list so. Go any final words will turn over to you. What would you do I? Would go pick a niche I would then go and go to crunch base with for all the funded companies within the niche had a breakdown everything that they're doing wrong and tell them how they can fix it and breakdown step-by-step in hopes that some of them hire me because they could just in theory, they're venture funded. They needed to get results faster. So why wouldn't they pay me?

"We haven't touched upon this for awhile but we've pretty much made it clear historically through the show i think it was back in two thousand fifteen two thousand fourteen to two thousand fifteen when apple was working rumblings were that they were working on a tv streaming service to get out there to the masses but would apple did is because they're keno their brash and they're cocky they wanted to set the terms while doing this the studios right no we're the ones that control the content we'll tell you how much you know will charge for this content avelino gives the best deal were apple while this is happening all the tv networks and studios and media conglomerates decided a hey these are these are terms to other companies so what did you see sling tv a p s view at t direct tv now all these other services now we have hulu tv youtube tv all these other companies were able to lockdown deals for their own tvs streaming service and apple couldn't it it it would it's a pure revenue stream source apple wanted to be hey we dictate the terms they guess what a worked back when the music industry was collapsing in trying to figure out ways to make money arguably apple helped usher in the generation of music beam digital for better or for worse for the rare earths for better or for worse for the record um but apple has no tv streaming service they have no revenue from that there's always been talked about apple then looking to buy netflixing i would love for them to buy netflixing keep it the same integrated into their system and then just throw in additional content that apple offers but they apple can afford it but they are doing it i think if there's anything we'd see it would be that but we wouldn't see apple do anything with tesla yeah not test lashley just announced like think last night that they lost like six hundred million dollars last year something so that wouldn't be a goodbye for apple even if turnaround even if apple wanted to.

"Pods in their beat sales and even their home pods they'll be bundled together so like it's been three years it's not like apple is doing gangbusters louis if they hit if they hit a benchmark of like 50 million apple watch watches sold we would have probably heard about a even twenty million but we still have it because they brag they brag about it so much when they hit those benchmarks so good news coming out from the apple watch the another really cool story staying in the same place comes to us from this new study from company called cardio graham and what they've basically found is that according to the study this is really their first largescale stay that demonstrates how an ordinary heart rate sensor something that we could find in the apple watching others even like to fit bit that it can actually petit really detect early signs of diabetes and they did this by can you know they have this whole study that they put out they have people opt into it but this kind of crazy that we've talked about although may not be the sexist thing apple using the apple watch to get into health and fitness but really the medical field and so they've from their studies they it suggests that the apple watch harez answer itself can detect early signs of diabetes the pancreas is connected to the heart to the nervous system and according to this report the heart rate variability changes when a person begins experiencing diabetes like cysts symptoms him that's awesome really cool we also know that apple has their own official apple heart study that's a partnership with stanford and so you can actually opt into that right now i i kept on getting notifications like opt in opd insulinlike forget it i don't wanna see this anymore i'm just going to opt in but if they're trying to basically detect abnormal heart conditions arrhythmia and to see how they can connect in really warren people ahead of time that i think there was a story about a gentlemen who is heart rate kinda peak.

"Pod as a music speaker over bluetooth that's a big deal to me that's been like most of their views have been reading is like it's great but it's trapped in app apples you super trapped so you kind of is the trap pod it's the trap pot so anyways check that out you know we'd love to hear people by the time our next show comes up for the apple extra crunchy colon if you bought a whole pod let us know where your thoughts are you know give us your kind of quick one minute one minute and a half mini review what you like and what you don't like we just love to hear from you too can contribute to the overall fema what people are thinking about the whole pot so there you go all right also a lot of iphone use dropped this week as well apple released their second beta's for mac os icier they release their second beta for iowa's eleven which is really important and the second beta for tv os but what we found that was the most interesting thing as part of this is that the iowa as beta it's the second base wta is the first time it introduced this actual new battery health feature from apple and so what does this battery health feature do basically it does of right of things that tells you pretty much the condition or the capacity of your battery has that changed over time because we know with the six six us and the seven those those the phones through iowa's eleven that were affected where they were throttled down if the battery wasn't great and then we have this whole thing now where people gather bodies were placed i don't know if we will have to get into how ugly it is but it's we've talked about it like for the past four show so i'm not going to get into it as much but this new battery health feature we'll tell you how will your batteries doing it will also offer the option to turn off the throttling feature but this is in the beta too so if you're part of the developer program you can check it out right now i don't honestly off the top of my head i don't know if they released for the public beta just yet.

"Lee how smart it is or is it but i can tell you right now i think the biggest thing that people are frustrated about and again this doesn't surprise us but this is kind of par for the course when you talk about how apple does things shirt supports all of apple services and apple music recently there was an announcement how apple music subscribers actual pain subscribers had it something around thirty million subscribers in the us they don't say they say their pain but i wonder how much of that is at least the initial trial but that's a huge number and really when you look at this device it is made for someone who is strictly in the apple ecosystem and i'm timeout someone who uses apple music someone who is i cloud matching and someone who has the i two started the iteens match service and then purchased songs that they owned from i tunes it's for you there is no headphone audio three point five millimeter headphone jack on it oh there's also this is the biggest bugaboo for me we're all condition to connect to any type of loot his bigger we want to this whole pot has bluetooth five point oh but it does not support any phones to stream music over bluetooth it only supports iphones running ios eleven serious so that what that means is you have an a non iphone you can't connect to the home pod if you have an iphone that doesn't have iowa's eleven you can't use it with a home pod and also no one is really dug deep into what happens if you have apple music but you're on an android phone my assumption is you'll putting your credentials but you really have to talk directly to the whole pot you won't be able to stream or control your apple music collection from your android phone so but i mean that's my assumption based on how apple is doing this no one's really dug into that alcino just things subtle things how the syria on the home pod a believe it or not is more lim.

"Although they can they can put a little pressure on that right yeah it'll it on the other story is that came out from bloomberg was about a government probe coming at apples specifically about the iphone to the department of justice is one of them that's involved as um sorry about that department justice and the sheer tirias exchange commission they are involved in investigating whether or not apple really deceived consumers with that are power management feature that they decided to implement in slow work to slow down older iphones nothing is happening right now let us be honest about that but apple also came out and admitted yes uh there are a government entities that are looking into what had happened the receiving questions from them and they are responding to them here's here's the also enjoyed this statement from apple specifically they say as we told our customers and december we have never and would never do anything to intentionally short in the life of any apple product or degrade the user experience to drive customer upgrades our goal has always been to create products that our customers love making iphones last as long as possible is an important part of that and i mean i think that's a nice wait a put it but they would have never came out and said this if they were never caught doing it yeah they literally they they only came out we talked about this so there's something there will we'll they say okay you know i know one i know apple try to get ahead of it they are addressing the issue now they are offering a battery replacement programme which is not the easiest to get fulfilled for the record um people had issues going to stores to make an appointment to replace their battery and guess what apple says oh we don't have a battery for your phone while she got.

"Apple's operate systems have ever been when you have different hardware doing different things with different devices even from somebody like an iphone 8 to an iphone 10 to an ipad those are ios devices that all use iowa's in three different ways it's time to bring it together so i think it's a really fasting story historian i i think that it's just this is a classic thing were apple will be so stubborn about same we're not gonna do this were never going to do this is not going to be how it is and then four or five years later they decided to do it yeah and then the general consumers gonna say oh my gosh a couple made iowa sap's for the mac now and i'm like i know my desktops can be messy man because i have a ton after my phone so we'll hold desktops covered in apps you're out a way to like organized that in a cool way you know somewhere such on a dela is is is is smiling and kinda like half merck giggling that's the head of my cvs apple okay apple juice all right i'm just some kind of updates with the iphone ten the iphone ten plus should help kind of aden apple's new push for a led displays according to some reports here apple is now or sorry excuse me samsung display is now at a ninety percent yield rate for producing oleds screens and what does that really mean earlier in the year as apple is ramping up to build the iphone tens they were only able to get about a sixty percent yield rate of actual displays at could be used in these phones it bump up to eighty percent later this year in now believes it's up to ninety percent so they're able to churn through these alive faster and more efficiently according to a report by the investor samsung display will end up supplying apple with be somewhere between one hundred eighty and two hundred million flexible a lettuce blaze for the iphone in two thousand an eighteen that's up from an estimated fifty million from this year so that's a big jump also.

"Let you put apple carplay would make it a lot more let me know what you think looking forward to geared thinks bite i'm pretty sure he met gugel maps he first said are they gonna wriggle maps and they settling in ring so are they gonna bring apple maps ida it's not going to google maps i mean i could go on the record and say is i don't think we'll ever see google maps in apples carplay it just doesn't make sense for them to do that they're competing with androids androids own car a software system there there it's apple ecosystem thing i know they have third party music services that are supported by carplay but i just don't think will ever see google maps in apple carplay how 'bout this at least for not for the next three years after that maybe maybe they'll get over themselves so carplay is not open to developers like uh like an iphone like iphone is you had you had they have very specific deliberate partners that they allowed to show up on their display because it basically looks like an iphone with thing or like a row of five in five of apps that are you know the the grounded off corners and it's not like they're gonna let you play games or have app just go to town on it it's apple it's a very controlled ecosystem we've always known that so dougal maps i would love it but it's not going to happen yeah yeah they need to open that up though because the cars like the next space you know like we've done the flaming owning up a lot of things that they need to open up the home pod i mean they don't they don't have even right now the developer files have shown that they're not looking to open it up there only going to have apple music as the native music service on the home pod and no other thirdparty apps like amazon echo thirdparty apps thousands.

"I've said that you can i don't even know what episode it wasn't last week guys yeah i think we're even talking about there was like some eyeglass demo that that we were showing others look a little video you know now there's other stuff out there and and reality thing they have all the pieces in place in they can make it looks stylish enough they made the apple watch looks stylish whether or not you liked the fact that it has a round face or not so the new operating system owes go ahead yeah i was just going to echo you and say it definitely has to be stylish because the the the vr headsets that we're seeing now unlike the google glass they just look ridiculous and people just laugh at them you know when they see him garner so if if apple could do something that's augmented reality glasses but make them look like a cool pair of sunglasses or something you know then they win you know what i mean like if it's like a pair ray bans or something uh than they win that holes they'll they'll win that whole uh scene you know the the big issue according to the report that apple is having is creating their own head said with a builtin display that can also stream 3d video without draining its battery it's obviously a lot of components here working together that makes it complicated i don't wish this on any one of the that out now a couple of quotes just to see were apples brain is at cook in our interview with the independent recently said anything you would see on the market any time soon would not be something in any of us would be satisfied with so he's kind of talking about the overall market like look apple knows what they want to do but they're not it's not there yet.

"The apple watches a great example to me i bought the first apple watch knowing it wasn't the greatest thing i i wanted to review it i wanted to have it in have my own experiences with it but now the apple wash in its third generation with the new watch os four with a new internal that make it speedier and quite honestly the elti e for someone like me who works out in wants to have access to everything but not be fully connected with the phone the apple watched series three elti is legit like i love it that's good and i didn't i didn't love my apple watch before after two generations but now i'm turnaround man you've definitely turnaround on apple watch since the lama show love on the products good rate when it's so i think that that's a good sign that each maybe find it takes them a little longer to get there we i want them to come out with dope stuff i wish they came out the amazon echo quite honestly hurts they should at least kinda did with syria i mean they were the first to have like a you know a personal assistant were talking to guess but it's not it's not doing with the echoes doing hate getting back to the the aar headset when the is going to succeed the iphone would what does that mean it's going to be like like a accessory to the iphone or it's that sounds to me like well the title yet the titles a little tricky but i think what they're just trying to say is they're next breakthrough product right that will six like we had iphone we had ipad what is the next big apple pie i think people should listen to our show even as far back as two three years ago or i've always said look i'm not trying to be msrp future predictor but if there is any product that could be the next breakthrough product for apple it would be a pair of glasses oh yeah yeah.
