"Aware of you from your blog. Spit bucket so welcome to the podcast amber before we dive into a bit of a discussion about virtual wine events. 'cause now seems like time. I wanted to allow our listeners to get to know you a bit so maybe you could give us a little bit of background. How you got into wide into the industry. Sure thank you very much for. Have manse pleasure hair the i. I'm just geek run. I grew up in missouri in the united states where my grandfather had several restaurants and it's always a right of passage to work in the family business and so that was my first exposure and it was really kind of through history that ramiah was started looking at labels like oh this has ties to charlemagne and missouri has a lot of wine history augusta. Aba first aba for napa charles. Riley joins husband to helped discover the cause of locks a so. It was a history that kinda suck me but you know like in restaurants you get kinda sick of it and you lied and side that far off to school ended other things until of all places at caught in disney world in orlando brought me back to. Why go into the little pavilions there in it's totally gimmicky. And but it was just kinda cool with the Italian pavilion had italian wines. And italian food. The german billion german winds german food and cultural link just kinda re ignited that passion and so i did allow geeks due to start getting wind books. Jancis robinson wine course the wine bible and discovered wikipedia this mid mid two thousand. That was really big. And i got involved in the wikipedia wine project and so most of those early wine articles that were written over eight hundred some odd articles on cabernet chardonnay berlow. I was a big part of writing those. Yeah it's definitely one of the things that i became like slowly aware of. Just like through osmosis. Whenever you like google something you go to the wiki page and your name would just be that like every single time. I found an entry. That's kind of how. I came to spit bucket. So maybe did that. Did wicky come first. And then it sort of evolved into the blog did. Yeah i love. Being part of the which pedia wine project username. agni twenty-seven is what you were probably seeing. Would you got a lot of issues. There's a lotta cynicism and a lot of toxic in community around like twenty fourteen. I just got really burnt out. And so just left that. But i did miss the writing and that avenue of taking the wind knowledge in breaking down and then regurgitating it. And so that's when i started the blog It really didn't take off until a couple years later with that under the book name but it would really did come out of encyclopedia. Yeah being out to like kroft urine space where you could set the tone and the parameters what was going on and actually. That's something i particularly enjoyed about. Your writing. is your on estate. Aikido employees punches. Your very clear. Instinctual complete geek. Which i love but you also honest and you're not afraid of sharing your opinion have you. I think in the industry quite often as a lot of backlash for that particular women as probably a lot of people have seen particularly recently. Is that something that kind of came across. When you're writing. Is that something you've had to deal with. 'em how have you managed that i mean definitely hit some of those issues with the backlash and i am very privileged so in that..

"You guys. I'm super excited to do this. Series on style at any size. One of the reasons. Why i wanted to do this one because i love style so back in the day. I'm from michigan. So it's the motor city. It is not the fashion capital of the world. If i could have gone anywhere. I would have gone to design school but i probably would have went to either become a stylus a visual merchandise major. Where you're kind of figuring out what the storefronts should look like in the windows and all that kind of stuff how a store should be displayed or possibly a buyer Loved all of that stuff. But that's not how my path went and and here we are talking on the podcast and you guys are listening to me So things always work out right. But i do have a passion for that and i have a passion to help women especially moms that are struggling to find their style because they may feel like they're not the size that they want to be and that can be any size or you may be dealing with a body part. They're just like this is so hard to find the outfits that i really love because of abc or d. And so. I wanted to do these. Do the series. Because i'm going to break this out into little nuggets. Okay so that you guys can just pop your earbuds. Listen in the car or doing a workout walking cleaning whatever so that this might help you think a little bit differently in regards to style so the other thing that i wanted to say is if you didn't hear me announced that i am actually getting certified in life. Coaching and weight loss coaching. I am doing that. And i want to pair the stuff that i'm learning life coaching school and style. Because here's the thing you pick outfits out for people but if you don't get to the root of why they feel like they don't deserve to have style or they don't feel lake they should be investing in closed for themselves or their tolerating close not fitting then. It doesn't really matter if you pick out all these great clothes for them because there's something that's going on. There's a thought that they're having that is keeping them from living the life that they want to live in looking the way that they want to look and that is where the coaching comes into play. Now i know that all of you are listening to this. You may not be able to afford coaching. And this is why. Like doing the podcast that you can hear this for free. And i always want to give you guys value and create content for you guys but this is. Why decided you life coaching. Because i want to be able to help you. Guys at beyond the podcast. So if you guys you want to if you want to set up a session where i'm hoping you a style as well as figuring out what might be holding you back. I would love to do that. All you have to do is email me at amber. At mom inspired show dot com and i would love to set up a session with you.

Ludden weather forecasters work off a thirty year average and it gets updated every decade right now. What's normal for temperature and precipitation is based on nineteen eighty one to two thousand ten. That's why we've all gotten used to this. Well temperatures for your friday. We'll be running about ten degrees than normal seven degrees above average yesterday. Look into tomorrow above. Normal temperatures will the past decade. Was one of the hottest on record mike. Pilecki of the national oceanic and atmospheric administration says that will show up in the new averages called climate normals. They'll drop the eighties and wrap in the twenty tens. It was a very substantial upward trend in temperatures especially along the west coast of south and along the east coast. He says there were exceptions. Oh you can go to fargo north dakota. That would be a place where it's actually cooled a little bit if that's your interest especially in the springtime but the fastest warming places. We'll see a real bump up in their averages. Amber sellin is chief. Meteorologist at abc fifteen phoenix. Where she says last summer was incredibly hot. We set a record of fifty three days at one hundred. Ten degrees or hotter. The previous record was thirty three days so it wasn't even close what's more she says. In the entire past decade phoenix did not said a single record for low temperature now oddly after the update in may some really hot days or nights could become officially cooler than the new normal plans to take more time to explain all this. We're going to have to remind people especially this year. Hey if we're at one fifteen. That is five degrees above the average but remember this average has changed. An election system that puts voters (not politicians) first
"Voting can be hard. It's been hard sometimes. Painful sometimes impossible since the very beginning of our democracy this year and years prior. We've seen voters wait in line for five six and seven hours and the issue hasn't been fixed. How impressive that. Someone would wait in line for seven hours just to vote but to me. It's not impressive. All it's disrespectful. To these voters making voting difficult goes against the very core of our if we could redesign the system to make it more convenient more accessible and easier for voters. Why wouldn't we now. The short answer is political will. Many established politicians would not actually benefit personally from a reformed voting process. That's inclusive for all. Voters politicians played the players in the game but yet they set the rules for the game. Election policy must be about who votes not who wins and the more complicated answer. Is that our voting system. An election system in the united states is highly decentralized and inconsistent over ten thousand different local election officials administer this process in cities and towns and counties across the country. They might vary in size from four hundred voters to four point seven million. There's also fifty different state legislative bodies that set the rules of the game and over fifty different chief election officials and entities that oversee those rules. And how they're administered so voting may vary greatly from state to say best case scenario. You're in a state like colorado and a ballot is mail to you proactively before and every election

Dollywood with Amber Davis
"Impossible to talk about dollywood without mentioning dolly parton then in are both big fans. She is a prolific songwriter. I think a lot of people would be shocked to know all the songs that she's written for other entertainers on her own. She sold more than one hundred million albums worldwide. We could honestly do a show several podcasts. Just don't hurt. She butts alone. She's amazing businesswoman and humanitarian her literacy program. Which all three of my kids have taken advantage of dali pardons imagination library which is a part of the dollywood foundation males one book per month to each and roll child from the time of their birth until they enter kindergarten. Currently over sixteen hundred. Local communities provide the imagination library to almost eight hundred fifty thousand children each live across the us canada uk. Australia and ireland. It's amazing she also helped to find one of the covid nineteen vaccines so i mean i could go on and on about dali yes. We absolutely could. Let's bring it back to the theme park. Dollywood was opened in one thousand nine hundred eighty six and one of the really interesting things about this. Is that for all its growth and offering of thrill rides. The park still retains a lot of history in roots. The park now known as dollywood has gone by several other names throughout the years and it still pays homage to the older parts. There are four years in the modern park river town junction. The village country fair in craftsman. Bali dollywood offers a fully functional. Gristmill where you can get incredible cinnamon bread and rolls and a fully functional chapel. That was actually named after the doctor. That delivered dolly truly. This is a part where you can ride some incredible thrill rides and get a glimpse back in time. So talk more about dollywood with us. We welcome amber. Davis publicist for dollywood amber. Welcome to the show. Thanks so much for having me and we really appreciate you coming on chatting with us. So robin our both. We're going to confess it. Where such huge fans of dolly. So can you talk about what her influence in the park. Looks like it could be major things or just simple touch here and there. Just give us a break. Yeah absolutely. I mean who doesn't love dali if you know anything else are dolly. We claim. She has a national treasure every believes she's just about as genuine as they come. We do see dolly from time to time so it's neat that the park not only bears her name. But there's there's things around that just remind you of who she is and what she means to a community here and at large but start dollywood really was her vision and so it's her. Her name is on it. She has the managing partners who know the theme. Park world but dolly. She really started this park to bring more people to the area to create jobs. And she's done both of those things so just the very welcoming nature of the park in a. We've were proud. Always tell people. Were the friendliest park. We won that award so many times that they actually retired at so now have the best park experience award from the golden ticket amusement today awards dolly wants us to be welcoming into you. See that and just the. The charm of the park itself are host week. We actually call our employees hosts because people who come our guest and so everyone who works there were hosting you so it again. In the culture in the nature of of who we are dollywood. You're going to see There's there's actually if you want to come for the dalai factor. You're gonna find dolly. There's a whole museums. Actually a fantastic museum chasing rainbows. It has things one of the things. We like to joke about dolly. Never throw anything away whether it's warehouse in nashville or if it's at dollywood we've got our hands on just really neat things. I mean her birth certificate and a replica of the coat of many colors. Actually it's a replica. Because you know. Intrigue fashion was continued to be handed down so that code is is longtime because it was down the many more kids after dolly but Her mom made another one for on us to put on display. So you're gonna see the coat of many colors. You're going to see movies threats and costumes from her movies. You're going to see you know dresses. Steve warranty to award ceremonies. You're going to see her awards museums. Fantastic there's also a replica of her. We like to call it the tennessee mountain home. So if you don't know dolly was one of or is one of twelve children so she grew in a very small home and so we need to put that in the context of walking through this house credible. You're like how limped year. The beginnings replica of the home. In what i mean by replicated. Her brother built it. Her mother decorated it. So it's not the home. She grew up in. But it is true to representations of of dali's. You're gonna say you know things like that in the park. There's there's there's smaller things like a popular. Eatery is drive in will read is actually a nod to the very first place. Dolly parton had a hamburger so easter eggs. You know the pines theater another location. That people don't know but that's where she had her first concert. So there's lots of things throughout the park that it's not in your face dali if you want that there are different areas. Not the whole. It's not all dolly all the time. So there's there's a lot but you have to kind of know where you're looking. Yeah i remember go into dollywood way back might have been the early nineties and then just recently. My daughter's chorale group went for to sing at dollywood. And i was shocked at all of the roller coasters. I mean there are rides galore. Can you talk a little bit. About what kinds of rides and attractions are dollywood. Mentioned some of it but talk about more than rides and stuff. Yeah you know. A lot of people don't realize that jolly win actually is a fantastic coaster park. You know a lot of people Thinking oh it's it's probably small little entertainment park actually does quite a few of the the big name coasters that the coaster enthusiasts talking about so yet we have our parking one hundred sixty acres. And we've got eight bay coasters so we've got lightning rod which you know we love and we're very proud to to reintroduce this year. I had lots of work in the off. Season practically brand new track thunderhead. That's a wooden coaster while eagle was the first wing coaster in the state So we liked to go. After unique rides we have fire chaser. Express which is a considered a family coaster. The reason is considered family is because it has a very low height requirements. Thirty nine inches. My actually two little boys and both of them were writing. Fire taser express when they were three. So you know on a coaster is kinda crazy but it's a fun unique ride. It launched as you out of the station forward but then by the time you're ending the ride you get launched backward. So that's it's a dual launch coaster. So that's a lot of fun so we we look for a lot of the The rides that are unique or that offer something that people haven't experienced

Interview With Shane Balkowitsch
"Well hello everyone and welcome to another podcast from frames magazine my name is scott olsen and today we are going old school and we are going deep into a really really wonderful type of photography. That's not practice very much anymore and really frankly when you see it. It's going to knock your socks off. We're talking with shane belkevich. Shane happens to live just a couple hours. West of me out here on the great plains of north america up north dakota chain that afternoon. How's everything out in the middle part of the state. good scott. thanks for having me on. We've got a little snow last night. Which was a very welcomed. Got a little snow over here. It's cold it's january is imagine about winner on the american that should be asked should be. You're absolutely right shane. You are just absolutely mesmerizing with the work. You're doing you do wet plate colin on photography. You do when one of the earliest styles of photography and admit you know. When i first heard about it i thought why in the world would anyone want to go through that amount of work for an image that i can do in my mirrorless. Dsl are very quickly. And then i realized how wrong. I was can't do that image and i certainly can't come up with a product that you've come up with so first question for people that that are familiar with the process. What is wet plate photography. What is the whole call it on process. Yeah so a wet plate clothing. Photography's invented by frederick scott archer in. He started working on about eighteen. Forty eight we believe in eighteen fifty one. He came out with a journal article in a scientific journal and presented it to the world. So what we're doing. I'm sure many of your listeners. Know about daguerreotype process which was invented by the declare. The frenchman About ten years. Before what plaguing frederick scott archer wanted to improve on that and This is what he came up with and the final product. And what your comment about why. You can't capture wet played in a modern a digital camera. Is that this is completely analog and the final images the images that i make. I an amber typist. That means i make my photographs on glass specifically for me black glass and these images are made out a pure silver on glass. And what's about silver silver does not degrade so these images that i have Have made over the last eight years of made a three eight hundred of them all by ten most most eight by ten black last amber types of they'll be here thousand years from now broken which which is not something you can save for princeton pigments in paintings and other things like that so the these are very archival images and i. it's just a very very romantic process. i was never photographer before. A two thousand twelve took my first exposure on october. Fourth never owned a camera. And i just find myself chasing this this historic process. It is really really interesting and we need to tell people that there is a movie out. There is called belkevich b. a. l. k. o. w. i t. s. c. h. on video. It's on amazon. Prime it is a documentary about you and your work and folks. You need to go there. You need to watch this film if you are in the any kind of photography. You need to do this but shane one of the things. That really intrigued me. Watching the film is that most of us that are in the photography files were making digital files. Or you know. We're coming up even if we're still dealing with old thirty five millimeter film or that kind of stuff Medium format film. You know we come up with a negative but then you know actual print is a temporary thing. You much more like a sculptor are making an object's this glass plate and it's not revisable you can't go back and tweak the highlights you can't go back and ask grain if you want. What is the appeal of making that object versus a kind of idea. We have to understand most web play. Cloudy and artists There was one here in bismarck. North dakota orlando scott gough. When he he was known for capturing the first ever photograph of sitting. Bull here bismarck. In the in this process that i practice and i i happen to capture ernie lapointe the great grandson. The city hundred thirty five years later in the same town in the same process but goth would have made a negative like you had said he would make a glass of so instead of putting his images onto black glass which you cannot contact with. He would have used clear glass. Clear glass as you insinuated. You can make multiple copies and you can enter. The final product in that scenario is a print. Because you want to be able to sell you know apprentice shayna print scott where wants to print you can make as many prints of these want is your business and it. Did you know good to have a one off plate because you and you know when you're talking about eighteen fifty one is no way of duplicate and they didn't have scanners and we couldn't do anything like that so you know. I think there's something very special about the the fact that these images are one offs and they can never be duplicated in they can never be replicated. When i make one of these images. I've for instance. I've dropped an image once and tried to go five minutes later. Ten minutes later tried to make this image with the same sitter the same camera. The same lenses saint chemistry. And i can never get back to that so if you look at this romantically. I'm not actually taking snapshots people actually making ten second movies. I'm still life movies. Because my exposures in my natural studio that i built here in bismarck. It's called nostalgic glassware plate studio the first one in in the country bill of the ground up and over a hundred years. I'm making ten second exposure. So there's heartbeats and there's blood flowing through the person there's a couple. Maybe a blinker to and what. I really love about this is. Maybe there's a thought so. I'm capturing thought on that piece of glass pure silver. That'll be here on.

"I feel like this is really going to help me help of moms. So i'm actually going to become a life coach as well as a weight loss coach and because i have my own personal story and journey with weight loss. I think it's going to really pair well together. So i'm super excited to help. Moms you know with their thought works. And this is exactly the way that i learned in order to lose weight like i did so much thought work in regards to my weight loss journey and so i wanna be able to help other people experiences too so that they can reach their dreams and their goals and just live the life that they really want and so i just kinda wanna go back to this because i think a lot of people might think i don't even know what my gifting are. You know you might be thinking. I don't have any but if you can think about the things that other people compliment you on or ask for your help with those. Are the things that you are. Good at. Those are your gifting. So it's so much easier for others to see our talents than it is for us to really see them. For example people come to me for travel ideas right but even before i was a travel agent. People like to ask me questions because they knew that. I like to plan trips and i liked to figure out how to make them happen. My husband and i even created a vacation planning tool which i have up on the website to buy. I think it's only twenty seven dollars. It's not expensive at all what we did is we created the spreadsheet on their kind of walks. You through like. How can you budget for vacation specially big vacations and what you would need to do to plan each month by paying that out so that you're not in debt by the time you go on vacation so if you're interested in that make sure to check that out on the website is called vacation planning tool and so even before i was a travel agent..

"You guys. So it's kind of do an intro. When you are the only person doing the show today but i wanted to give you a heads up so kind of give you an idea how this episode is going to be. Because it's completely different than how my other episodes have been one. Because i am doing solo episode and interviewing someone also. It's going to be totally casual so you just kind of almost need. Imagine yourself like if you're listening to a facebook live. You know how people are just kind of like talking and it's just super casual. That's how it's going to be. Because i wanted to share what's been going on with my life and what i'm up to and so it's not gonna be as structured and it's like as if we're sitting having coffee and you're just kinda listening to me share with you. Becoming Part Of A Shoppable Life
"Today. I'm signing up to be a reward style and fluid sir. When i talked to amber she told me how to do it and it sounded pretty easy. Pretty painless you would go to reward. Style dot com or influence or page in apply and team is actually looking for certain things. We've got those applications. And then we make investments and influencers that we think are investable so go to www dot reward. Style dot com. Everyone on this page is so good looking. I'm not as good looking. Apply now bone. Tell us about you first name. This is way easier been harvard region. I live in philadelphia. But i have a lot of friends in new york and la which seems a lot sexier not release. Not sexy love. Felli best city in america please provide all the channels. We post content to regularly. I don't know what has these are. what's clerk. What's billy billy. Now i don't even i can't even think about tiktok username. Joa piazza right. These questions are optional. But can help increase. Your chances of being approved cleese. Identify one of the categories. You need help with monetize. i wanna monetize myself. How much time do you plan to dedicate to create and monetize content as little as possible. That's not true. I'm going to tell them fulltime. You'd think they'd ask you more. You think they'd want to know a little bit more about me. Like do you like to take long walks on the beach. i'm virgo. I enjoy pasta. But i've been doing a kito diet recently right bam until we got rewards style application. Submit it now. I just have to wait. And see if i get accepted while i wait. I want to figure out what a shop of a life means. So i called. Emily hunt from pentagon shop will. Life is a term that i came up with with my colleague lee mcguigan. We are looking for a way to sort of encapsulate. What was going on on instagram. With monetize saying their lifestyles so shop ability as this idea that any place piece of content experience could be a potential site of commerce. So when i wake up in the morning in my brooklyn and sheets and make my way to the bathroom. Use my billy razor to shave the bottom half of my legs and then put my everyday oil on my face to get. That just got screwed. Glowing. what yes. Hi genuinely loved these brands. This is not an ad. These people are not paying me yet. But if we're award style of proves me. These could all be potential sponsors of instagram side hustle. But the thing about being shop -able when you start documenting and broadcasting your entire life on instagram. The opportunities for product placement feel and less is all has the potential to get real overwhelming real fast. A lot of the mom influencers. I've talked to say they have moments where it's hard to separate their real life from their brand friendly instagram life. But only i was learning that everything i saw was content. That changed the way. I did everything. I was thinking betting. Because it was what i liked and also. Does anyone else have anything like this. How is this going to graphs. Can i leak to lose and get an affiliate of it. That's natalie eleven again. We talked the last episode. She was one of the early mom influencing celebrities. The creator of the. Hey natalie gene instagram account and that blurry boundary between life and business that she describes that was so disorienting to her that she eventually quit this crazy world. But we'll get to that later episode for now back to emily hunt your participation in commercial lights is no longer limited to actually going to a store shopping as something that could potentially happen anywhere. This is sort of been growing sort of creeping up on us long time. We've talked about the history of influencing already. We talked about lucille ball revolutionizing mom influencing on tv. But there've been other versions of the shop -able life to especially if you were a kid in the eighties and your parents watch. Tv late at night. You're going to recognize a lot of these. You know we kind of talk about like older forums like if you think about like an infomercial. The following is a great advertisement for the express. Ready set go brought. That was like an early attempt to make watching television a shopping experience so the shop will life on instagram. It's just this idea that we're presenting our lifestyles in images and in instagram stories. And that they can be merchandised. Monetize pretty seamlessly the merchandising and monetization of instagram and instagram's stories is the idea that you can buy another person's entire life with just one click. It's amazing watch. How it's as easy as putting in your fingerprint. And within a matter of seconds you can go looking at this picture of someone's life to owning a piece of that life. I don't pretend to be exempt from this either. I recently bought a rug for my bedroom. And i think that's part of the appeal of more generally is they make life easier for their followers.

Donald Trump impeachment trial: what you need to know
"Donald trump may have left the white house but he has not ceased contributing to the history of the american presidency. Beginning later today he will become the first occupant of that office to undergo a impeachment trial for the second time the charges on this occasion relate to his role in inciting january sixth royat which led to the ransacking of the capitol building in washington d c. Five people died one of them a police officer murdered by the mob as we learned the first time. A two-thirds majority of senators is required for conviction. But are the numbers. There were joined with more by. Suzanne lynch washington dc correspondent for the irish times suzanne first of all to washington itself. Are there concerns about further disturbances as the trial gets underway. Well i am. It is important to note andrew. There's still a lot of security here in washington. Dc a lot of armed patrols are still here a lot of fencing and a lot of security around the capitol building in saying this and there's been no specific suggests that there would be any kind of violence today at the fbi is still. There are posters all over the city looking for information about people who evolved in the original capitol hill riots. Many of them at this stage have been arrested. So there is a feeling dash at the security services have made a lot of progress on arresting the people who are involved without nearly four weeks go more than four weeks ago in fact so yeah there it. It's still a city. That's quite tense. But no specific indication that there is anything plan for today. What if anything is donald trump proposing to offer by way of defending himself. Is he actually taking an active interest in his impeachment. Trial this time mersey. He just staying on the gulf coast. Well we had. We saw that he fell out in some way was originally legal team that he had engaged to represent him at this trial and then very quickly appointed two new Figures at david shown ambers koster early last week so That in itself has been quite and quite unusual so we're going to hear from those two lawyers at today when the impeachment trial starts now. The highs impeachment managers who are effectively. The democrats were acting prosecutors at they wrote donald trump last week asking him to testify under oath either before the impeachment trial. It's up or during the impeachment trial. He said no in no uncertain terms dot through his lawyer. So that's not happening as we don't expect to hear from donald trump. They have been quite clear. Though about the argument they expect to make. They filed a seventy eight page brief yesterday. And there are a couple of lines of defensively like we're expecting them to use as significantly in the most The most important will be the argument that this whole process is flawed. That it's unconstitutional to try a president who has already left office in an impeachment trial now. A lot of legal experts have questions about that. Don't agree with that argument but that is definitely one of the arguments are going to make. Also that his comments in his speech is incendiary speech that was delivered on the mall just before the capitol hill attack. That thought is protected by the first amendment rights pre speech. Which of course is so important and so strongly to here in the united states and there are other arguments are making that this political theater by the democrats that donald trump was speaking figuratively talking about the need to fight during that speech. So but i think we're going to see predict on the first day is debated about this constitutionality. Argument is this. Is this legal to hold a present. Try it of course in the past. Is this the first time this has happened as you pointed out that our president has been impeached for the second time and be after. He's facing trial after he has had office but we have examples read history. Were other officials like judges. Were tried and impeachment. After they left office so democrats argue that no this it may not have happened before with the president but that it is perfectly legal as we've discussed before it does seem unlikely that they will be sufficient republican votes to secure that two-thirds majority in the senate. What do we understand of the calculation that republican senators who vote to acquit. donald will be making. Will they be acting out of foam principal and a conviction that he is an innocent man or are they still really really scared of his base in the trouble that he might be able to cause them especially in primaries. I manage this is quite so. What's so interesting about this impeachment. It's taking pay so early. In the psych of joe biden. It's almost as if republicans. Now they will they will have to go publicly on the record on donald trump. At a time where i tink. There's still a lot of soul searching by the direction of the party. So we saw last week. There was controversy over Marjorie taylor green very much trump acolyte in the house and under the controversy over lists charging the third ranking republican in the house who you know broke with their party and voted to impeach donald trump. But she survived. He got quite a decisive vote in her favor. A private meeting last week so that would suggest that republicans privately are not so enamored with donald trump. Bussey may seem publicly. I think what's going to happen though. And this provides an for republicans. If you like is that they may well hide behind this argument about process at that. The whole the constitutionality of the entire impeachment trial rather than cast judgment on the substance of the allegation against donald trump himself i think that would allow allow republicans at to vote to quit donald trump without condoning or supporting his behavior on john six. So i think that's where this story is. Probably going i think most republicans will vote to a question but based on that argument that the process itself is flawed. Not on the fact that he is innocent of the charges of lucia accused.
"What do I do now? How to get to work in the early days.
"Amber. Riley said that's the key to life making your own path. Set your own rules because there is not a set rule. There's not a set. Look there is not a set anything you make your own rules in your life. You make your own decisions. I remember the very first day. I woke up and went to work as an entrepreneur. The weeks leading up to that day were filled with anticipation and excitement. I felt like i was doing it. Finally i was starting my own business. And then i sat down at my computer and i paused. Where do i start. What was i supposed to do like literally. What tasks should i do right now. What action should i take. And suddenly i was hit with a surprising and unsettling feeling i felt adrift or un moored. I felt like i was floundering. A bit. I mean think about it up until that point i had worked in normal nine to five jobs and in these jobs i would come in each morning and i would work on the projects that had been given to me. I knew my company's goals because someone else set them. My direction was really clear. I largely just had to execute and now here i was living the dream and i had no idea how or where to start. You see many entrepreneurs leave the comfort of their nine to five jobs in search of freedom and no doubt. You'll find it here. You'll find more of it than you ever thought. Possible out here and that can become problematic especially in the early days because there are two sides to the freedom coin. One side is opportunity the ability to build an experience. Boundless growth the feeling you get when you realize the ceiling has been removed on the amount of money you can make. It's incredible but the opportunity side of the coin is balanced by the other side. The responsibility side the side. That says yes you are free. You are completely free and now you must chart your own course set your own direction. Put wind in your own sales. No one else is gonna do it for you. The responsibility side. It also says yeah. There's no ceiling on the amount of money you can make but i've also removed the floor as well so choose your next steps wisely so today i wanna talk about some tips for helping you put the wind in your sails to chart your own direction and your course and made some of the common pitfalls that entrepreneur's experience in this situation the opportunity that freedom brings is balanced by an equal if not greater sense of responsibility and one of your many jobs as an entrepreneur is to accept that responsibility. So let's dig in there now before we go on. I wanna point out one caveat for today's conversation. I'm assuming you've done the check. The box work of setting up your business. I'm assuming you formed an llc or some type of business entity. I'm assuming you've figured out a way to accept payment even if it's in the form of a paper check i'm assuming you have insurance and the barebones tools you need to execute your work and if you don't have those things start there but with that said if you've got all that and you're ready to take the next step. There are two buckets of action. I suggest new entrepreneurs take and they fall under the heading of working on your business and working in your business now if you haven't read it yet. A man by the name of michael gerber wrote an incredible book called the e myth revisited. Why most small businesses don't work and what to do about it. E myth means entrepreneur myth. And in that book he makes the distinction between working in your business which is doing the actual technical work that either creates your product or makes up your service etc. So like if you're starting a graphic design business. This means actually creating designs for people. If you're a plumber. This means actually performing plumbing jobs for people working in your business is what generates revenue for you now. In contrast working on your business is what creates the actual business structure around all of that work setting the vision and goals for the business creating systems and processes that run each aspect of it

"So it's like who is coming up with these ideas and then the other people are like wait cannot even for this and how do you budget all these extra gifts? And how many kids do you have faith in supplying that by all the teachers and it kind of gets a little bit insane because you're like, I don't know but then you don't want to be that parent who seems like you're not appreciative and like oh, you know, I don't want to give you anything because you know, I don't care but that's not even the case and so it made me think about it when you were saying You know that we we might just have more more money these days and so it looks different, you know, and so but then at the same time it can cause more stress and I think that even the gift-buying especially to like teachers and stuff like that and all the teachers out there. I love you. So don't think that I don't but it is interesting. Like when did that turn? And when did that change I've experienced the Sky loan nine. I've experienced it since she was born. So it's been going on for at least nine years. And so I don't know where it changed from us growing up to our children. I have I don't know. So but even that can just get a little bit like stressful because you're like, you know, some moms will make things look so amazing and so elaborate and it will be so cute and how long they did and remove these. Well, they can't give cookies now like if you made them cuz of covid-19 decorated q and they did all these cutesy things and you're just kind of like and here's my gift card off. You know, you know what the teacher probably appreciates the gift card. She probably does. Yes. Yeah a lot exactly different gifts. You know, we have to remember that so was were talking about going to remember other people have talents of making cute looking cookies. If I try to make a cook a cute looking cookie. No one would want to touch it like yeah just wouldn't happen. You know, it looks scary exact so long that there are other things that I can do to contribute to show my appreciation that that does better suit with the talents that I have and I think that that's important too is that we think about when we're going back to holidays and we're playing in for all these things to really think about what we actually can do what we actually enjoy doing just because we we think that like, oh, this is what we should do because everyone else is doing it or it's what we've always done. If you don't really enjoy it give yourself permission to say I'm just not doing that right? I agree. Yeah, so that is a really good point and off. I'm keeping the show shorter because I know it's we start going to the holidays that the moms are going to have less time to listen. So I kind of want to end on this journey. I know let's going back to the planning. I just think about like the systems in our lives, right? So, how about you share with us? Like what you think in regards to your life rocks what you believe in the balance in regards to systems and planning and see what that looks like cuz I think you talked about that in your sanity course. I think you have like three main points. Is that correct? Yep. So when we think about balancing really it's important to remember like we're all busy we all have a ton of stuff going on and balance is going to look different for everybody. So how balance looks in my life is going to be very different than what it looks like in Amber's life or or anyone else's life. But when we think about in order to have balance possible, there are three components that I believe are necessary for just about everybody else..

"Standing next to people. I have friends in the medical field. I have a girlfriend. Who's on the front lines? She's the director of nursing for two hospitals and saw this coming for quite a while and they had been putting measures in place. And so you know I was talking to a girlfriend of mine. Who's a practitioner? And I said I I have a friend that I that I really WANNA reach out to. And she said sit on the driveway. And there's this beautiful and just put your six feet apart. Don't completely separate yourself from people you have to do your due diligence and and put in motion the guidelines that we've been given you we still have to be there for one another. Yeah Yeah I was thinking about. I have a friend that has a birthday this month and just be sitting in my car in her on her porch. I mean like as way more than six feet so you know just things like that you know is just that trying to figure it out because yeah we can go through this a couple of weeks but like I I mean. How long can we do this without? Actually seeing other people and I mean I get it. We face sandwich. Thank goodness for that. I mean I cannot imagine if we did not have the technology that we do Jay. I mean we would already lost our marbles but It's it is amazing that we have that but you know hearing people's voices and then but then also just seeing them you know I it really. I think that's the thing that's GonNa make you think twice when we come out of this and that's a question I wanna ask you I have two questions before we end. And if you have anything else you want to add feel free but I wanted to ask you. I know that you are really good about building a community anyways and staying on top of that that is a strength of yours which I always appreciate but you know when you go back to normal life though. What are some changes that you think you're going to implement that you have seen through this timeframe That's a really good question. Amber I think for me the I'm going I there's always something more that I can do to be honest I think reaching out.

"You guys I'm super excited to have Stephanie here to do the four part series where we are going to be talking about simplifying your life so today we are going to be talking all about paper. I know as Moms we get inundated with all this paper that comes in the House and sometimes never leaves and so I just thought it'd be great for her to come on the show and just have her walk through what she does with her clients in regards to papers as well as what she does in her own house. So if you guys know a moms that are really struggling with just kind of simplifying. Their life make sure to share this episode with them and let them know that. This is a four part series We're going to be talking about papers today but next week. We're going to be talking about kids stuff and then day to day systems and then end on storage so I hope you guys really enjoyed the series you guys so before we jump into the show I was thinking it would be really fun to do a new segment so I thought you know what. Let's do my favorite things. I'd like to change things up from time to time. You know just do things that are different and because not. Everyone listens to every episode. Just hang in there with me because I probably will explain this over the next month or so that I'm going to be doing this. And so if this is something that you like and you're just wondering what product I might use or you know whatever and you WanNa ask me and you want me to talk about on the podcast. Totally mainly at amber mom inspired show dot com. Or if you follow me on Instagram at Amber Sandberg. You can message me or if you follow me at facebook you follow the mom inspired living page. You can message me there and I will answer your question on the podcast so I always like when people talk about their favorite things from bloggers. I don't watch a ton of Youtube but I know like when people are trying to figure out beauty products or makeup or whatever people to talk about their favorite things people on instagram. Talk about the things that they're liking so I wanna just talk about a wide range of things from maybe the books. I'm reading programs that I really like from you. Know beauty products health products. That kind of stuff I don't know if I'm going to talk about clothing that much. Because if people are listening a year from now they're not going to be able to go to target and address and I'm referring to so any hill That's where it does help you know to do things visually instagram. Because then you can link it up and then you can go find that product. So I just wanted to tell you that I am going to try my best to correlate the two meaning the products that I'm talking about to the interview that I'm doing and so today because we're starting the simplifying series and we're talking about paper something that came up while I was talking to Stephanie. Is Stephanie are totally different? Like Stephanie is more ruthless. And she's listening to this show will be cracking up but she is more ruthless with getting rid of things and I'm not but if you compared to todd my husband I'm probably more ruthless than he is and so it got me thinking about when I did the interviews with Beth mcchord. She is the Ingraham coach. And if you don't often your grandma is that I highly recommend listening to our episodes. You just type in. Mama's fired show And then type in bath mcchord or instagram. And you can pull that up but for those of you that know in your Graham. It's really just another personality test which I think is really. It's it's really. I feel more in depth and I feel like people resonate with it better than other personality tests so anyways the program that I wanted to talk about one of my favorites is Beth. Mccord's program that she has for the Graham and The one that you would start with is discovering you and if you subscribe to my email then all of this will be in the show notes in the email that you have in your inbox that is one of the perks of subscribing to my email. List.

But if you guys WanNa hear more of the details make sure to tune in December. Because I'm really GONNA go into detail. What really worked for me? What products they use an what? How I started this journey to begin with so if you WANNA I know that make sure you go to episode one hundred twelve with Amanda Neighbor? "You guys so I'm super excited. I'm going to do a replay of an episode. I did maybe maybe a year ago about Disney cruises so I am having more and more people realize that I'm a travel agent. I don't talk about in depth on every show and so I figured did you know what let's just play a travel episode again. I know I just at Cobb. Oh two weeks ago But I just want to explain really quick the kind of vacations that I do plan a lot of people come up to me and asked me do I. Do you know all inclusive and Hawaii and all that stuff and the answer is is yes so I do all inclusive. That is anything in the Caribbean. But I be. Here's something that you guys should know when you come to me. Asking for an all inclusive have ninety percent of all inclusive is actually in Mexico and so You just have to know that in the back of your head that if you're wanting a an amazing all inclusive you're probably GONNA and have to go to Mexico but besides that point book not all inclusive. That's why I wanted to do the Kabo episode. But I do the Caribbean I do Mexico. I actually just booked recently. Bentley a multi generational trip to Hawaii I'm super excited for this family to go next summer. Celebrate the grandparents anniversary. I'm doing a daughter. As a mother daughter. So there's no benefit that we can provide for you on that so some people have reached out to me for that and so it's probably Louis a good place for me to clarify that but if it's in a package deal then I have my wholesaler group. It altogether so then it works that way but I just don't do them separate are like that's the only thing that book so anyway. I hope you guys get inspired. And I hope you WanNa Disney cruise and make sure you come back to me if you you decide to do it or if you wanna go on any other kind of vacation I would love to help you so enjoy the show all right. So we're going to jump into this. The reason why I wanted to do a Disney cruise episodes because I feel like Disney cruise line is amazing and I went last year and I felt like I got a lot of people saying like oh my gosh. That's on my bucket list. I can't wait to do it. And they would ask me like how was it. Was it worth it and so I just wanted to do an episode where he kind of talk about this stuff you know. Especially Ashley is a travel agent and I can help you with this and come alongside of you but I wanted to give you a little bit of information so you could figure out if this is the right choice for you I put Out On facebook and instagram. Not that long ago asking a question about Disney cruise lines. So this is what I said. Have you ever thought about going on a Disney cruise. I'm getting ready to do a podcast on the topic for those that have never been. What are some of the questions that you have? Or what is holding you back from booking one so here are some of the questions you guys had. I would be interested to hear. About how small and claustrophobic the rooms are. And how good slash safe are the kids clubs. Also how crowded are the pools. Another person said I would like to know the benefits to doing a cruise versus a Disney resort for a Disney experience also a cruise versus Disney cruise line so a different cruise line versus this is Disney cruise line and then also people would say. I don't know about the price you know. Is it too expensive. Can we afford this as at worth that and then the last question question I had was what age do you think kids are too old to get the most out of this and I love all these questions. So I'm GonNa Kinda to just go through these and then I'm going to go through my experience last year so I went in two thousand seventeen with my kids. Were three and six just to give you a gauge of of my references. Okay so going back to the first question. Would it be interested in. Knowing how small and Costra phobic the rooms are so if you've never been on a cruise this is going to be hard because if you never been on a cruise you don't realize that the cruise rooms there's they're called sweets are a smaller then hotel rooms right there on a ship so they gotta keep things tight so it's going to. It's going to feel small. But in comparison to other cruise lines. I would say they're pretty equal. Generally what you see is used to get bad a pretty good sized bed okay queen or king sized bed and then you have a couch and then you have a bad that comes out from the ceiling which let me tell you that was my girls. Highlight it one of the highlights of the trip. Which is hilarious on my okay? We can probably try to figure this out somewhere else not pay for Disney cruise line ships so It comes out of the ceiling so it's like a bunk bed feeling so it's like the bad turns into. I mean the couch turns into a bed and then another bag comes from the ceiling and then you have a ladder. So that's really awesome. Awesome now if you have a family of five. Then you're gonna want an adjoining room because that way you have a double space. There are suites so there are suites. If you just want bigger space like just more living space but if you're looking for more beds it's you would probably want to do the adjoining room and so that way you have two doors that open up into each each of the rooms right so then you can kinda keep them propped open open so he can just go between the two. So that in itself helps with being claustrophobic like just having to living spaces that you can kind of walk between and so that that is really great and if you have a family of five that is what you need to do and so if you have a family of four then you can decide if you really need to have a sweet or four if you need to have two rooms spread it out but in my opinion you're not really in the rooms that much. What I would actually recommend is to get a verandah which is a balcony That gives you the feeling of not being so claustrophobic. It has a whole wall of being a window and so that way. You don't feel like you're stuck in a cave or something like that right so that is my recommendation. If you feel a little bit like you're going to be Costra phobic then you definitely need to get verandas and then that way you can step out onto the veranda breathing. Some fresh air not feel stuck. And I love the Verandah anyways because as you can just sit down and drink coffee or you can have a glass of wine. It's just really great and so And the thing is to some people might be like. Oh my gosh. But what about the railing and the kids will. The railing is high up. I mean and you're not GonNa ever let your kids out there without knowing and you just lock the door you know so So that is is my suggestion for people if they kind of are worried about that. But if you're really worried about the in general then you kind of need to think about cruises altogether because you're going to run into that everywhere you go right like the railings. I have never felt unsafe with the girls. So that gives you an idea but you are the only one who knows your children so but I just wanted to paint that picture. That I've never felt worried about that. Okay so that's kind of the claustrophobic situation and the size of the rooms. The next x one is how good safe are the kids club. I'm going to go into this in a minute because I'm going to go into more depth so let's have about. How crowded are the pools so with any cruise line? The pools are not humongous. Because they don't want all this body of water in the ship right like if it just be splashing around so so you're not going to be finding like a humongous resort pool. There's only so much space and so you have to know that that is going to be busy. Especially when it's days at sea see The Disney dream. And that's where that's the ship. I went on for four nights in the Bahamas cruise. I should have said at the beginning. I don't know why didn't so it's a a four night Bahamas cruise going out of Port Canaveral. And so it has the aqueduct so as a cool waterslide then has a smaller slide for just kids ads and My oldest Skyla. She loved the the smaller one. Actually and then there's also an adult pool. That's really quiet so if your kids are in the kids club I say go over to the adult pool where it's actually really quiet and calm. So that's what I have to say about crowded pools so the other one is dewey cruise versus a Disney resort for Disney experience. Okay you guys. If you've never been to Disneyworld then and I feel like you need to go to Disneyworld. Okay like they're very hard to compare Disney cruise line does such an amazing gene job of making it feel like a Disney experience. I mean they. They have a theme in down. They have the hospitality down. But it's not a it's not apart though right so if you are wanting to experience the rides and all that kind of stuff then that is like. It's trying to compare apples apples and oranges. I will say though what's awesome about Disney cruise line is they provide a three and four night cruise cruises. So what I would do. If you're interested interested. Is You do the resort for a couple of days and the parks and then you get on a cruise and relax from running around at the parks all day. And if you've been to the Disney if you've been to Disneyworld you know what I'm referring to you when I say Oh this will be nice to relax relax and just take it easy from you. Know just doing the craziness of of Disneyworld disneyworld resorts with kits. But if you're just wanting to really experience Disneyworld and you've never been I say give that go. Oh I and then I would definitely do a Disney cruise later but again if you WANNA do both they have the three tonight three to four night cruises and then you compare it with the resort -sorts and that's called A Land Sea package so.

"And I leave early because we Iran central time so it was six o'clock I I know I sound like an old person but it was seven o'clock Nashville time and I just really don't like eating super late. You go to bed and so because we're eating like so early at six or seven our time. It wasn't super busy. We were able to just sit. Say like in this booth that was overlooking the water and it was so gorgeous and we can see the sunset. And I don't even know and it's really felt like Hawaii to me and I've been to Maui and if you don't want to track all the way over to Hawaii I feel like this is such a perfect option and I'll say going from Nashville to Kabo. I think it was two and a half hours to get to Houston and then an hour and a half to get there so it really wasn't that bad. It was only an hour time difference so to me. That's pretty good especially comparing to Hawaii. Because I I have clients why right now and it's a track and so anyway. The food was delicious. The Room is humongous. The bathroom is humongous. There's a bathtub and shower. It depends on what room. You're the balcony is huge huge. You can see the ocean. It was gorgeous and the room wise. Let me let me think about it. So the room is not super modern. But it's not festive festive like an Mexican style. But it's not streamlined. And Clean Lines. But I'm trying to think what if feels like I don't know now I'm losing my mind. What how to describe it? That doesn't really matter but I will tell you all the best we slept in. Were super super comfortable and you guys. If there's a pillow that you're kind of like you know what this is like like smashing too much to the to the to the bed like we're used to earn pillows they will go get you other pillows. All of the resort's ball. They will help you figure out a pillow that works for you and this is what I'm talking about luxury. I mean when you're kind of like okay. These pills are not working for me. They want you to feel rested and the beds. I felt so good and so rest is sleeping there. I need to think about what else I want to say about one and only before Dan. I don't want this to go too long for you guys. You know the WHO'll was amazing. This is what I noticed one and only was great about this and so was montage In Grandma's I had US okay so they they are on top of what you need to the point again. I'm talking to all of you moms out. There were so used to doing everything right with the kids that okay so I wanted to sit in these chairs but it was in the sign. And I'm thinking okay. Can I move the umbrella you know. No they're going to move the umbrella for you. They are going to move it so that you're just laying there and they're going to put you in the shade which to me. That is so amazing that you don't have to think about trying to La swivelled umbrella to make it can happen and and get out of the sun and so they're they're looking out for you to see like Oh you're still you're in the sun. I'm GONNA move it. The Sun has moved. I need to move at some more four. I saw them do that with other couples. I thought that was just so cool. that you don't have to worry about any of that stuff and I just you know one of the things that I noticed with luxury properties as all of them somebody is walking you to your room and they are walking you through in your room. They are explaining how everything works for explaining how the Espresso machine works yes. There's an espresso machine in every room of of of his resorts. They're telling how long how works they're telling you how to use your temperature control there explaining like the things in the fridge so if they're not covered there explaining that you can take everything out you can go to Walmart. You can stock doc your fridge. If you don't want to worry about paying for all that that stuff they will take all of that out so you don't have to worry about being charged now grant bellis if you're like. Hey I only like regular coke diet coke. They'll take all of that out. EGALITE PEANUT EMINEM's they'll stock with Peanut Eminence. That was the other thing with Graham. Bell's open a drawer. There's all these eminem's and chips and I thought Oh my Gosh Gosh. The girls would go crazy if they saw this. They'd be like Oh my gosh. This drawer of junk food is amazing but going back to one and only and the resorts is that they walk you through they walk you to your room so they explained where things are at and then just walk you through your room like how to use the shower. How how to use whatever? Here's your robes. Here's a Blah Blah Blah. All the stuff I mean. When's the last time somebody walked into your hotel room explaining how everything worked right? And that's what I noticed like this is luxury that somebody is walking you through things and for me. I use almond milk. My coffee and so every time when that person was standing there I said. Can You bring me some alm amount to leave in the fridge and they did and it was great. It was it was amazing. And they're just on top of it. They're there there to make you feel so comfortable in just feel like you're on vacation even if your kids or even with when you're without kids and so I just so on a highly recommend that if you're thinking about going on a vacation with your family or if you WanNa go away with your husband or you WanNa go away on a girl's trip like these are such amazing options nations and I don't know if you guys know this about travel agents so with me. I get paid by the vendor and the wholesaler. So you do not have to pay me so I will will help you. I will make this stress free trip. Then you will go to these amazing resorts and then they will make your life even more stress free and I I feel like you're you know just at home you know and your home away from home and so if you guys are wanting to talk about Kabo or anywhere anywhere else I can help you with that. "And I don't even know how they made it and it wasn't disgusting it was actually delicious and so Their food was so good. Their pool food was so delicious. I ordered HAMAS and vegetables and corn chips and then one the time we actually went to one of their restaurants and we could have it delivered out to the pool so todd got salmon. I was really wanting a burger at this point. I don't know I really wanted wanted to American food. I got a burger with fries. It was so good and we got tros with caramel sauce and chocolate dipping sauce. The pool and it. It was so good like it's not your traditional pool food it mean it's just really amazing yummy food that you wouldn't even realize you are at an all inclusive and so I feel like with families. This is an amazing option to go to and they had a cute little playground and for the little ones and a little splash splash pad area for them to plan and then we also went to the teen area and that was so cool. There was all these video game systems that the kids could play on the teenagers. They could have candy bars. It's like a display of cakes and stuff like that for them. They can play air hockey. There's like a dance party thing going on in the back and I mean there's just so much fun things for the kids to do. I just feel like a good blend of you know having adult time and kid time time and you can put them in the kids club so that if you wanted to go to dinner just with you and your husband or if you were to go with like other couples or your parents and just wanted adult time I think it's it's amazing and so I just really loved grand villas and so it just made me feel even more confident to keep sending people there and I don't know it's just awesome and GRANDPA's you can upgrade and get a plunge pool if you wanted But the balconies are humongous. I mean you have like this bed and these is two chairs and a table. And they're all ocean view. That's what I love about. Grand Velez in Kabul is the way that they have designed the hotel every room. You can see the ocean which I thought was really cool. One thing that I noticed too about the beaches so like I mentioned montage you can swim. Resorted Patriarchal you cannot swim. In the beach and GRANDPA's you cannot swim in the beach but even walking the beaches you have to be careful because the water comes up so high and so so I thought that was really interesting just experiencing like walking the beaches and how that might feel and with that kind of feels scarier. Not and some people. Don't don't really care about the beach. I like walking the beaches and seeing if there's any shells and stuff like that and So those beaches you do have to be careful about and I will. I'll tell you in a minute. The beaches that I felt were less calm. I mean more calm for not being beach. That's going to be my next one and it's Spicer Roy. So just ending on Grand Palace. It truly amazing property. I had so much the food was so good. The breakfast was so good and let me go back to resort electrical so they're buffet. Todd was saying this is one of the best practices I've ever had and it just was it was really really Delicious it's interesting at all the resources we went to if they had granola they it was granola that they all had made. They all have their own recipes and they were are so good and we'll put in yogurt. I don't really eat a lot of yogurt so I would have it with almond milk and it was just so good. Everything was so good and so your eyes were just look at all the Food and you think oh my gosh. I can't eat all of this. So resorted petrol. Their breakfast was delicious. And I would say that Grand Velez was on par. You're with resort petrol and this is again I am saying this is how you see. That Grand Valla stands out over other properties because when their food is as good good if not better than not all inclusive that says a lot they even have a Michelin Star Chef at the Grand Palace which is huge a lot of times. That's why people are even going to GRANDPA's because of that. So that says a lot about a resort and the quality of food. And especially. If you're foodie these are the places to go I I did one in the mornings. We had breakfast in the room so that I could experience how that was and it was great. The food was hot. It was so good I I ordered eggs and they brought me refried beans. It wasn't it was like they whipped it up or something. I don't know it was so good. It was salsa it it was just delicious like it it just tasted so good and I had waffles and it just really blew me away for being breakfast having in the room because sometimes you might feel like going missing out by staying in the room to eat and I really wanted to experience that to share that with you guys and I loved it. Okay so then. We moved onto viceroy. Now Vice worry there's other properties throughout the United States. People really loved one in Chicago what I realize they all very different so the one in Kabo what it feels feels like to me is a little blend of Las Vegas and Miami. It's very chic and very white and Very very modern and they are really about the technology and what I mean by that is what was really cool about it when we went into the room. It's very modern like I said and clean lines and so they have the blinds from the balcony. You can push a button by your bed and those will drop down on so if it's too sunny or if you want the privacy but you still want light coming through you can drop that down and then you can drop your other blinds that are insider room by pushing a button at your bet and then those come down and then a Dr- like a rape comes down for when you're ready to sleep to make dark and then you can make their these lights. That ran along the drapes which I thought was so cool you could make them Turquoise Purple Pink. I Dunno they just made a lot of fun with technology and I thought that was really cool One thing that stood out to me was their pool. Didn't seem that didn't seem. It wasn't as big as what I was familiar with with. Montage and Graham Graham Bellas resort Patrick pools kind of smaller but they have three of them. So I think that helps but Montage Pool seems huge to me. Graham Bell's was huge and so when I compare it to Viceroy Pool is just not as big And some people may not care about that now I will say what I liked about. visory their beach. I felt like we could walk on that very easily. It was like a big beach and the water did not come up as high so you could really walk a really far distance now. Some people don't care about that stuff but some people really do like to walk the beach right like they they. They like walking the beach. They they're like on a beach vacation. I want to be able to walk it. Even if they don't WanNa go in it so I really did love that I will say that their breakfast was also amazing. They had this banana bread French toast and it was to die for it was so good that even got second serving and there was this other EG meal that I don't know what else was in it. It was very Mexican feeling and it was delicious and so Their food was so yummy. Me One thing that I noticed this place is family oriented. But I'm going to tell you what I felt about it. I felt that it's a great place to go with your spouse or to go on a girl's trip it feels very adult oriented to me and it feels very like nightlife like if you WanNa stay up and you you want to eat on the rooftop and there's music going and you really loved nightlife. This is a great place to consider. Because that's the vibe that I got that it's it's kind of like it comes alive at night time. I will say because I checked all the gyms at all the resorts there. Jim was really amazing. So I think you're you're pulling in people who care about their health. They want to stay in shape while they're gone. But you know maybe have a few drinks and yummy meals. But they'll go to the gym the next day work work it off. They had so many different machine. They had the ropes. They had waited sled that you can push that these really cool like when you're doing pull ups but you're almost Wall climbing there. Jim was to me the best out of all of them. I thought to myself I think the people who are coming here are wanting to have fun. But they don't want to go too far off lake working out and staying in shape and feeling good. So that's what I felt about Roy like that's the vibe that I got and and also you can rent bikes and I wish we could have done it. But we were running out of time I totally would have rode my bike like a down the road or wherever it went and That's part is complementary and I just thought that was really cool okay. So moving on to our last resort and that was one and only okay so one and only miata feels like Hawaii as well so grand villas and and one and only feel like Hawaii to me. It's so lush that you have no idea that you're in a desert and their grounds are huge and it's just so much trees and palm trees and bushes and flowers and I don't know what it is about. It just felt really really amazing and it felt like you were really tucked away. You really had a drive into Canada from the main road to get in which I think is kind of cool so because we we went in September there. Were not a lot of kids there. So if you WANNA go to these places I would highly recommend going when school is in session But this is what they said. This is a very family oriented resort to the point that fifty percent of their clientele are returning clients which I think says a a lot I can see why so I'm GonNa go through this our first of all one and only if it blew me away because their customer service to who was so amazing similar to montage to the point where it almost goes making me uncomfortable because I'm just not used to having so much attention and people focused on me you know as Moms we all know this rate like everybody's like snack. I want this I'm hungry. She's hitting me Blah Blah. My shirt needs to be cleaned. I didn't do my homework. And so you're so used to giving giving giving giving giving it gets turned on you even though that sounds amazing. You're kind of like Whoa. I am not used to this. It's like I'm like I don't know what to do with myself. Everybody is hating me either. A drink a non alcoholic or an alcoholic or or they're handing me a tropical popsicle and it just was. It was awesome Mike but it took a minute for me to get used to and what I loved about one and the only is they have a Butler to go with your room. So even if you're going into the entry level realm you get a Butler and so how it works is when you're seeing not in the highest level so if you're saying in a really high level room a- Butler might go between two to three groom's may be where the Butler that I had was going between seven and eight rooms and then maybe there would be a lower level that maybe they're going between ten rooms. I'm guessing guessing so they're not like a Butler standing at your door but where it comes in handy. Is this going to tell you. This is where it's truly amazing. Where if you came here with kids leads it would be a lifesaver? So here's an example. You get the kids all going and you get to the pool and you realize Johnny has left their swim goggles in the hotel room all you have to do is let someone know who works there to say. Hey I'm in this room. Can you let my I butler. No we left our goggles in our swim bag in the room in her closet and they will go. Get it for you to me. That screams luxury tree at its finest because how many of us know that like oh or even better you forget your swim diaper. And you're like okay. I'm going to have to hike it all the way back. Data has to watch the five kids. Or Okay I'll bring some of the kids or maybe Dad's golfing and you've taken the kids and now you gotta pack them all back up to walk back as you know you need that swim diaper so I mean the the fact that they have thought of these things to me. That blew my mind. I was like Oh my gosh and I think a lot of times people would think that seems like too over the top like just having that extra hand to help you so mazing and they will unpack your bags now. They didn't do that for us. Because we're really trying to live out of our bags But they would pack our bags so that we can have more time. And I don't know it just really pretty pampered. I would say this is the place to go now. If you don't WanNa go with your kids there is an adult only part and it's completely separate so you can go there and not have the Kiddos with you you and feel like you are in a very romantic vacation. The SPA area is very isolated and feels very calming. And there's like these little pools that you could lay out with the hubby and stuff like that. If you didn't want to go with the kids they also have a kids program so even if you WanNa have that time by yourself love with your husband Uber them in the kids club and they have a cool playground in the back and one of the girls was playing a game with one of the kids and and it just seems like an option if you wanted that but truly is a family oriented place but there is separate adult only pools from the family and I will say that their food was delicious and we locked out because there weren't a lot of people there.

"Of I want people to know my name I want all these things then montage news at the top of our list their food was delicious everything it was amazing about that trip and just want to say that like if you're thinking about going away on a couples you know like you're going with your husband or if you want to go with other couples this is a perfect location in my opinion to go it's so easy to get to and it just it felt romantic however when it's Christmas time though they have so many things for the family so that's what I mean if you just go at certain times when maybe the kids are in school if you WanNa just go with your spouse you will feel Lake Jake it's not busy and that's what we experienced even though families are you know are allowed to go and experience the resort as well so I wanNA move on to the resort of petrol so the resorted Petra goal is through a cliff you have to actually go through a tunnel and you once you get on the other side of the the tunnel you feel like you are away from the rest of the world is pretty cool and what I liked about this resort is it Kinda nfl isolated but in a good way and I don't know it's funny there's is really huge gates to get into the beginning of where you're going to go into the tunnel and Tad was saying it felt late Jurassic Park it's like these huge gates like leading you in and it was just really exciting and one thing about resort of Patrick all is is has a a restaurant that people will come to even if they're not staying on the property and you can do that so even if you're saying it any of the other resorts that mentioning if you wanted to go to this restaurant and I am so not good at Spanish I did not major in Spanish but it's L. folly on so it's F. A. R. A. L. L. O. N. so you don't pronounce pronounced ells and that's what that's what gets me every time and it's pretty much seafood to table so you're eating what they caught that day and it was such a great experience so I'm GonNa walk you guys through this experience again if you do not stay at this resort you can go to this restaurant so it was built into the cliff and you go up into the cliff and you go to where this cases where all the fish for the day that they have gotten and is what you can order so you pick which fish you want and then you pick the size that you want to go with it and you also pick your appetizers before are you even sit down at your table which I thought was pretty interesting so you can actually see all the different kinds of fish so I picked lobster and so I could see the lobster but I could see all the other or fish for the day which is pretty neat versus just reading a menu and trying to guess what it looks like they're going over it with you so they do it in small groups so for tonight it was just happened to be him and at that moment so we really got one on one attention and they're just going through how the fish tastes if it's fishy if it's not fishy if it's flaky if it's very you know if there's a lot of flavor to it I thought that was really fun and then just ordering your appetizer and then your sides to go along along with it then they see you and the view is amazing I mean you're pretty much on the cliff to the point that the water comes up and hits the rocks you may we get a little missed on your face that's how close you are so it is really gorgeous and I mean just looking at the water and having this delicious meal that in itself is worth going to the sort of petrol even if you're not staying there and then you get a desert so it's part of the meal like you're paying for the the fish that you're getting there's prices on the chalkboard behind and then and then the size and appetizer all like comte into that price ace and the desert is all part of that as well and so they bring out there was like three different choices of desert that you got at the end it was really fun and you get a bread basket it's really delicious is a great experience and so going back to resort Patrick although one thing I really really loved about it is their balconies he's all have plunge pools and they run the length of the patio so can you picture that you're looking out your patio to the ocean and there is a rock tangle plunge pool that is running from left to right I mean that's insane it's amazing it's not even upgrade all of them have it which is so cool because some of the other places that I went to plunge pools but it's an upgrade you had to spend more so that's that was my favorite thing about resort metrical the rooms are really big so was montage and I let me back up and sorry to be all over the place montage one of the favorite things that I loved about their room is it had an outdoor shower so you walk into this humongous bathroom and then you see this shower at the very end and it's outside so it's all glass and but you open the glass door and you are outside so to be able to take it outdoor shower and you're in your private room I don't know it just feels really fun and it just like a really neat feature that I truly enjoyed so let's go back to resort Patrick O. Eight let me say this about montage montage their decor is very very modern I do like it's a very clean lines it does not feel like Mexico it it does to me feel like the desert so if that's the kind of look you like in the static or aesthetic matters to you that something to pay attention to and I'm going to put pitchers in the show notes that you guys can see one I'm talking about and also if you do follow me on instagram you can see where I posted the pictures and maybe get an idea but I don't know if I posted the bedrooms for all of them so I will do that in the show notes okay so going back to resort patrick all their rooms feel very Mexican so it feels like traditional Mexico and it has all those different colors and it's really exciting and festive and definitely not modern so if that's not your jam that might not be the place is that you want to go so it feels very fun and their bathroom was humongous the rooms humongous the balcony is huge everything is amazing and a funding that they do is they they will bring you chips and Guacamole and to coronas before dinner which I thought was really cool and they give you a Tequila a bottle of Tequila in this really pretty the it's almost like a porcelain bottle the blue and white bottle And I just thought that was really cool so to be able to get that you know those little extras extras they really make a difference and I will say montage because it was our university when we walked in they had a bottle of champagne for us and they had this beautiful chocolate cake with gold flecks in it saying happy anniversary and I just thought that was awesome and the cake was so delicious and I I will say that I think todd was eating it for breakfast one day so I'm GonNa throw him under the bus for that just joking he can get away with that he can get away with eating cake at breakfast he has a fast metabolism so anyway so sorry to be bouncing back and forth it just jogged my memory so going back to resort Patrick all loved the balcony it was amazing they have ah they have adult pools as well as well as a family pool so I think it's great my opinion with petrol I probably wouldn't do a family family vacation there to me it feels more of an adult only not to say that there won't be kids there but that's just my feeling that I would just I would go with my spouse versus bringing the kids so just to give you an idea okay and then the other thing that's cool about it is it's right by marina and so it's safe enough to walk down to the Marina we did not have time but if we had time what they would do is drive you down in the tunnel to the gate and then you can watch the marina and we totally would have done it I felt comfortable enough to do and that's it's what I think is neat that I felt comfortable to be able to do those things if I had more time staying at the resort like for the whole week so then I'm going to move onto Grand Velez grand villas this is the only resort that I went to you that was all inclusive now this is where I send my clients when they say to me that they want a five star all inclusive -clusive with amazing food amazing drinks amazing customer service grand villas is what comes to mind so they have one in Revere Maya Cabos Cabos and Puerto Vallarta and the Kabo location was added world so this is where I'm going to tell you I felt that it felt like why why they have so many palm trees there will I let me back up for a second when you get in the lobbies gorgeous but you walk in and they give you a little neck massage like they get this little central oil and and she does her two minutes feels amazing I mean you WanNa fall asleep I I mean I don't know and they do that all located at all the locations for Grand Palace and that's one of the things that I really love about them I usually don't tell my clients I am giving you that sneak peek I usually usually don't tell them because I kind of want them to be surprised so it was fun to experienced that firsthand okay so I walk in and they're like three huge each pools like when you look down when you're looking at the ocean you just see these three huge infinity pools and there's the one for the adults and that's at the very every front so that's closest to the beach and the ones behind our where it's kid friendly family friendly and all that kind of stuff so what I loved about grand umbrellas one. Flu Hawaii I don't know what they've done it because the other places have palm trees to but they had so much more flowers they had like Fuchsia Asia flowers off the balcony and the whole grounds were just lush you would have never known that you were in a desert and it was amazing it was just fun to experience the difference 'cause resort Patrico felt more desert because also in the cliff so there's a lot of rock it was really cool the aesthetic was awesome but it's very different so going Gotcha Granville us if you're wanting an all inclusive you will not go wrong going to grandma's I will tell you that I've had people go to Graham Valves that have gone to an excellence or finance resort and they are like wow this blows them out of the water and they thought that that was a luxury resort and that's what I'm trying explain here that it's hard to explain that unless you've gone there and so what I like about grandma's their rooms are humongous their modern clean clean line again and they have a huge tub with a separate shower the bathroom issues so grand bellis is known for like being very we welcome to families and so I can see how you could have families coming and this would be the most amazing trip to the point that I took a tour and and they showed me a room that was set up to have a baby so they had the crip set up in there they had all these cute little amenities that could go with the baby you and then they had a little step stool for them to be able to get onto the toilet you know because if you have toddlers they need the little step stool or to get to the sink or to get into to the bathtub and then if you needed this little you know the little tub for the baby inside the big tub it was really cool to be able to see that and so I was like wow they really make it so easy for you to bring your kids they even had little robes for the kids so you see the adult robes which I was experiencing mincing in every resort but then to see little kid robes I thought was so adorable and I could just see my youngest wanting smoothies every day and by being all inclusive you don't have to think about it right you don't have to think about what is the cost and you could be sitting at the pool and enjoying whatever you want and you've already paid for it so for for me I can see where doing the all inclusive at Grand Palace is truly amazing and the food I'm going to tell you the food in my opinion was as good as montage and the result of Patrick also at that point that's the only one that I could compare to and I thought wow oh I am so impressed with the food and the drinks were amazing I'm not a big drinker I will say but they had made an Avocado Margarita and I thought that sounds so weird by going to try because it's their special and I really need to try these drinks because I know that that's what people like to do when they go on advocation personally me I like to drink coffee so I like to have coffee drinks that's my jam I'm like I'm going to try this and it was delicious it was it was amazing and end known for my agency owner that he said that they use top shelf liquor and all that kind of stuff that a lot of the other resorts you will find that just even feel a little bit of your drink you'd have to drink four to five drinks where at Grand Bella you only need to drink one and I didn't even finish mine so anyways it was was delicious though I.

"She normally does two sessions a month and again again episode one twelve is where you're gonNA find how she does the program and explaining all of it to you guys and I just WanNa share this information until I do the series series so that it's not leaving you in the dark and you know I don't want to hold all of this just to myself I want to be able to help all of you moms so let's go to the show hey you guys as I am super excited to do today's episode all about Kabo so if you don't follow me on social media either on Instagram Amber Sandberg or mom inspired spires show or moms for living on facebook you might have missed that we went to Kabul so todd and I went to Kabo in early September we actually celebrated our anniversary anniversary wiler there but it was a work trip What had happened is earlier this spring I had gone to travel dinner here in Nashville and met got some great people that were sales reps for resorts in Kabo and so I worked out a plan that I would go and check out multiple all triple resorts while I'm there now I wouldn't recommend this for the average person because touted I actually got really good at checking in and checking out of the resorts and we pretty much out of our suitcases but I wanted to do this for you guys I wanted to experience several resorts back active back so that I could compare and contrast what I liked about them what stood out to me what I didn't care for so that I could come back and report it all back to you guys now most of the resorts that I stayed at were not all inclusive and I know that there's a lot of people that are all about all inclusive and it's a deal breaker if it's not hot but I do want to say that there's a level of customer service and a level of food quality that you find when you go to an not all inclusive resort now if you wanna go and not think about anything then yes all inclusive is the way to go and I did go to one and it's one of woods arts that I send my clients that truly is a five star resort because a lot of resorts WANNA say that they're five star and they truly aren't into their more a four star and so if you care about that stuff then that really does matter when you were trying to figure out where to stay so I'm going to back back it up and I say that a lot of people that when I say let's go to Mexico because we're going to get their biggest bang for their buck they are concerned with safety and I wanted to be able to go to Kabul was first of all I've never gone to Kabo I've gone to Cancun several times a long time ago Oh and then we have gone 'cause Amal and Puerto Vallarta on a cruise so we were only there for a day and even that that has been a long time so I find that a lot of people from national anyways go to Cancun because it's a pretty easy flight so I wanted to go to Kabo and kind of so you what that experience was like and how it's different than Cancun and how I felt safety wise so that you guys could see that I'm actually going myself Alf and I do feel safe so a few things that I notice going into Kabo we took multiple transportation because husband were going to so many resorts and why I'm saying this is because we weren't just going from the airport to the resort and then we were there for the whole week no we actually had to leave so we took private transportation and taxis we did a combination of both and never did I feel unsafe there was never a time that I thought okay this seems a little sketchy I don't really know I felt completely fine I wouldn't feel any different than travelling in a taxi you in New York City to be honest like and I've been to New York City so I just wanted everybody to know that upfront because I know that that is a big thing about going to Mexico is the safety and before Putin Khanna had any issues recently in the news I had told people that when you go do you really need to stay on the property that you're staying at that these countries you know there's a lot of poverty and I think a lot of people think okay well if they go to Jamaica if they go to Kana or places like that that they're completely fine but anywhere you go there could be dangerous areas Oh yes and so I don't want people to exclude Mexico altogether because of what they've heard on the news so I even went to the point in my podcast cast herself I asked three separate local people in different resorts one of them was two of them were drivers and one of them was our waiter at one of our resorts and so I had asked them what do they feel about the safety in regards to Kabul at least since I was there and they said had they felt Kabul was super safe and they felt that just like anywhere there's dangerous areas just like there's dangerous areas in the United States and and in Kabul wasn't one of them and and I asked him about Cancun and they said that they didn't feel Cancun was dangerous neither was Puerto Vallarta and so it out to me because I said to them I'm like if you were an American the news portrays it that it's just scary altogether and that don't go there and they thought it was interesting that that's what was being portrayed so I really just wanted to dig a little bit deeper to find out what locals thought thought about the safety of being there so I wanted to get that out of the way because they want you to think about that during the whole episode because it doesn't matter how nice the resort is if you're thinking you're not gonNa feel safe so I wanted to get that out of the way and never did I feel that I was in danger and I definitely would bring my girls back there because these resorts are so amazing and even though touted I went by ourselves and that was awesome because there's adult only pools in these resorts there family programs are awesome and I just got thinking to myself migrants with so love this and it would be really fun to experience us so I'm going to start in the order that we wet and I I want to say this too because I've gotten so many people ask me about Kaba once I got back they've seen pictures you don't follow me you can go to instagram handle that's where I post most of my travel pitchers either of my clients or myself and they just were shocked about the landscape of Kabo so if you're not familiar with Kabo it's truly at the very tip of Mexico and so it meets the Pacific Ocean and the see of Cortes and it just feels completely different there are mountains and it's a desert yet at the ocean and so it's a really neat eight atmosphere one thing that stood out to me is I kind of felt like it was a blend of Scottsdale Arizona and Palm Springs California so I've been to both both and it depends on what we're resort that you stay at if they play that upper not so what I found is some of them it really felt like you were in the desert sir and they kind of made you feel that way and I felt like wow is in palm springs but there's an ocean or I felt like I was in Hawaii and so I'm GonNa Start with our first resort sort and it's montage montage has a lot of luxury properties and there's a lot in the United States as well and this was the first time saying in a montage and I have to say that Ah this property truly felt like a palm springs and on the ocean one of the things that's amazing about montage and I'll tell you the other one that has has this as well it's a small mobile beach is one and only so my first and my last resorts that I stayed at swim beaches and this is a big deal if you want to go into the Russian and swim that you can't just do that anywhere in Kabo so montage has a snowmobile beach to the point that people would come in on excursions versions to their beach because it's a little cove so that's why it's protected so the waves are not strong so that's why you can actually go swimming and that is the main reason the reason why you can't swim is because the waves are really strong and the currents really strong so you're protected in this cove and I notice all these is both coming in to do excursions for snorkeling while if you're staying at the montage were and todd loves a snorkel he just went right out and didn't have to go catch an excursion excursion or catch a boat to then have them take them to this area and I just thought if you really love that kind of stuff then it is really important to either stay stay at the montage or one and only todd saw amazing fish and we've been snorkeling and a lot of different places we've been to Bahamas we've been to Maui and he was able to see a puffer fish and all these other different fish I think tank and some other ones he's more into fish than I am and so he was truly impressed impressed also you can go kayaking and you can go paddle boarding which is pretty cool and it's included you don't have to pay an extra cost which I thought was great so what we did is we did a sunrise Kayak tour right out from the montage beach and so that we can see the sunrise however it was a little cloudy so we couldn't see it like how you could see it on a clear day but it was an amazing experience and it was just awesome that it was part of it you didn't didn't have to go catch a bus and then go jump into an excursion and get up at four am we could just get up at six something and then walk down to the beach and then just jump into a kayak which was really cool I also wanted to say to that even though it's a family resort they do have a pool that is adjust for families adults can go in there too but there's an adult only area that's closer to the beach with an infinity pool and if you rent a Cabana Cabana you get your own private little which I thought was amazing so if you're going during a high time and you're kind of like you know what I just WanNa get away a little bit you can totally have this little Cabana Cabana area with your own private which I thought was amazing like I hung out there I was lucky enough to just have they were they they gave it to me so that I could experience it and just see what it feels like and to me maybe you wouldn't do it every day but I would definitely say it's worth renting Capanna for a day the grounds were beautiful you could just walk around and you just felt so peaceful and the pools were gorgeous I mean it was just it was just like a postcard and it just felt like you were really in the desert but with the wider and the ocean and so it was a really cool balance balance of water and desert and mountains I will say about the montage is their customer service is out of this world I mean now that I could compare all the resorts I could see where they really went above and beyond so if you care about customer service then you may want to go due to the montage like that might be high on your list so when you think about like you go to Nordstrom and Customer Services Amazing even though you love target but if you really are Kinda like no I wanna be taken care.

"Hey, you guys I am super excited to have you back for part two with Jennifer Thompson on the miniseries of mom guilt. So today, we are going to talk about. Are you a mom that place? Or are you a mom that really encourages autonomy and kind of just sending the kids to do their own thing and keeping themselves entertained for the most part, I'm curious? So when I post this episode to Instagram if you follow me at amber Sandberg, I would love to know what kind of mom, you are. So leave me a comment and tag me because I would just like to see how many moms are in which camp. And I know that there's a lot of probably like I do play. And then I don't play kind of thing. But if you kind of fall in one or the other predominantly, I would love to know so make sure you tag me and comet. When I post this to Instagram because I'm just curious. So we wanted to talk about, you know, are you mom that plays? And then, do you feel bad that you're not playing or do you feel like? It's really good to teach them to do their own thing. And also, how were we raised, and how that looks different from maybe, you know, growing up in the eighties, and maybe the nineties and what it looks like today?
