"All right I want to talk about the productivity at home and who is staying home who's not and what that's going to mean for all the big cities they're all promoting state Allstate Allstate all really how you gonna like the kind of what kind of income tax you know put on those buildings now because no one is working from those ghost towns when I go to genie in New Hampshire hello Jeannie how aria hello Mr back housing is I'm very good hello good I've heard today it's overcast so you're coming in clear I don't know where you all right all right and when I do hear you it lately I've I've heard you mention your concerns about abuse domestic abuse and yes I've always I'm a little dyslexic like being a little pregnant doesn't exist only when you're seventy two and I need to own a book in order to read it so whenever you would come out with a new book I would get it because I could read books M. probably the best book on abuse with a written by you really no angel and I remember being either a fair one that was run by a woman's group that did a lot with domestic abuse and I mentioned it to the woman and I said it was written by going back in her arms went immediately across her chest and a foot tapping yeah I gave that book to a friend it was so clear she was being abused instead of the way Buechele stuff the first and only eight you from your family your friends they start with the north so they're the easiest to get away but in that book it shows that indeed god is always with you and there are people who really never revealed in the vehicle when you need them and she read it which was finally able to get strength and courage your book helped her you get to where she is today which is in a safe place she is still fighting the abuse because abusers continue to abuse yeah no matter what and she still refers to your book thank you Jeannie I I appreciate that you know that that is the one book that I don't filled I wrote that actually wrote itself I was I was actually on stage excuse me my dog is somebody must be at the door but hit I was on stage and there was a place on one of the shows that I was doing where I was on stage I didn't have to say anything for about ten minutes maybe not even that long and it's towards the end of the show and I sat there and that entire story downloaded into my head and when I walked off stage I said to the person who's standing there the stage manager said I need a piece of paper and some and some vessels quickly and I go way back out took my bow and then I said backstage and wrote down all those points to that story and it was written really for my sisters as we grew up in a abusive household and you know at the end of my father's life he was he was abusive in a in a weird way he allowed abuse to happen he became my mother instead of his father who was abusive and he just he he became his mother who who just stood by the abuse instead of being the user and he kept repeating this pattern and at the very end my father who had become my best friend we were estranged at the very end because we had an intervention and it did not go well and is something I struggle with still to this day trying to understand WC and I don't think you ever can is just of sickness and sometimes the sickness that goes on and on and on and it should be all of our goals to stop it in whatever form it takes in our in our home otherwise if we are not strong enough or we think we're not strong enough or we are we allow it to go on in some other way but we are not the abuser this time it continues generationally thank you for reading that book this call the snow angel if you haven't read it it's a great story Mike welcome to the club program good morning runs great to be on with you thank you Sir a long time long time was driven back every morning first time caller ID yeah your receiver earlier here in Maine we we've obviously been less affected by the virus the the most of the country fortunately but yeah I can economically that's been no different I'm a small business owner I train our resources which are speeding or stop because of that and I'd I'd plug for of the PPP along which I wasn't surprised like that I didn't get to but that's about Psychemedics supple it people I'm best with me that by horses with me they have other businesses that are doing just fine through this they did not apply for the PPP long distance for different cases and their local banks call them to say that date your business you know you're good customer of ours you haven't you haven't applied there's a certain amount of money that we have available you folks need to come in and get signed up for this to get that long and these were a couple of your business so that one can only anybody off in fact one of them was a trucking company that's actually busier than usual and another person being a store owner that has stayed open to all Iraqi found their profits have increased just that's quite a quite a problem in our in a way that system is set up unfortunately in the some of the small well it's really hard drug when you're getting left behind well I will say this I I do know that if you have a good relationship we've heard this from the beginning if you have a good relationship with the bank you have a an easier time getting it if you just started your business you're just you don't have a chance of getting it the way it was set up is the you know is flawed but it was it was set up in the middle of the night overnight and everybody is just playing it I guess the the best way that they can to some degree I think there are some sharks out there that are also using it but I'm I'm sorry to hear that Mike how's your business holding up well we are we raced seasonally music star the very beginning of April so you can imagine after about three months with no income we were just about to get the ball moving and that down the field and the brakes came on as a we've been sitting idle for a couple months our industry is struggling financially because of that but things are starting to open up where where we're very hopeful that we're going to get the green light the near future and and be back and running we certainly hope so I like my family I have to be blessed my wife is on our end so it's not as the world without income but some of the my colleagues totally rely on this industry being agricultural based in on the move I certainly really struggling right now but we're open to climb out of it in the very near future thank you very much Mike god.
"allstate allstate" Discussed on We Study Billionaires - The Investors Podcast
"Question on this. It's one and specifically for insurance companies not just for allstate in the low and negative interest rate and moment. We are in and looks like we're going to be in this for a long time. How does it impact insurance companies named power and in general the hell that's number one number two given a choice between Bar Tread and allstate? which would you want okay? So two great questions. The first one how does influence earnings power whenever you have like a very low yield yield environment if we look specifically at also sixty. Eight percent isn't fixed income which is not that interesting and it has to be. You know there was something that's called matching because they need to be able to prove to the authorities that they actually can repay that too the policyholders if something goes wrong I love that would have to be in a fixed income so you can't really get away with that. It's not that interesting just last year. Trench off months they have an investment portfolio folio eighty one billion dollars. The return on that portfolio was zero point eight percent which is not uncommon for instance. Michael Specific mentioned Berkshire but look at Michael who was very often the class. There were negative last year so it is a it is tricky the other pot or the other side of the corn. When when you have something like very low yield is that you're typically have a have a higher underrating income so it goes in these cycles so whenever we can expect two main return on the money you holding for the policyholders you need to make the money on something else and what you do? Is You underwriting Sheri- in the different way so you would have what is referred combined ratio. That would be relatively lower so if you have a combined ratio of ninety two percent that means for every one hundred dollars that comes into a company you would expect to pay ninety two percent and out the other side of it so if we matching that you would have a very high yield environment. Imagine that you have you know. Six percent risk free rate so the ten year treasury. That's why I'm firm to oversee risk free rate you would be a lot more aggressive in terms of riding those policies because then you know you can make those six percent and and what I would recommend for everyone to to do if they want to understand this even more. I don't know if I give the best explanation to this is the Berkshire how the ways around Botha's lead us to his shareholders Mex- Olsen did a great job and it's been updated and you can find it on. Amazon is not too expensive unless you buy the entire book which is a lot of pages and he explains that. Warren Buffett also makes that comparison of these cycles. And whenever you had high guaranteed rate and low guarantees guarantees. Rachel's what you're seeing right now what that has done to the combined ratio. That's kind of like your first question. I WanNa make that recommendation. Then you asking. Which company would I prefer to own own berkshire-hathaway allstate so the way I wanted to respond to this is in the very value investing type of way it depends? What's the valuation right now? If you ask me how Berkshire Halloway Price. I think the be- she has a process around two hundred and twenty two hundred twenty five right now is probably priced relatively fair fair. Can it be expected. berkshire-hathaway expected to perform the Maga. Probably probably little. I would imagine even this price level then we look at something like allstate. Can they expect to affirmed Yes I think. They're priced relatively more attractively. But don't don't expect it to be more than ten percent and if you ask me me what kind of return would I expect if bought Berkshire this Shell Price. Some Saudi share price that injured but this year prize probably say eight percent nine percent. Whenever you ask me and I would say eight nine percent for Berkshire and I was like? Oh my excel. Sheet says ten percent for allstate. That's the same you know. It's not that had much of a different. This is approximately the same. The reason I was asking about this current prison allstate is last name in two thousand eight doing the great recession allstate's -Unding dropped by almost eighty percent from peak to off and it took them a wide eh of time to really reach profitability and spark shed. You'll get the downside protection in dumps of there. Being conservative solid Ali balance-sheet diversified businesses and Beaufort at. This point of the cycle is what I'm asking because how protected is the downside with the tate. If I have it in my sizable position my portfolio wars timing Berkshire which used insurance exposure anyway. Earnings earnings are little trick. And you could say your same thing for the Free Kaslo whenever you do value insurance companies. Don't follow this same. Adt Com standards is Coca Cola or Johnson. Johnson there's also a lot to be said about the investment income is just like taking a beating and that is the very nature of insurance companies. Because that's how they deploy deploy the money so I think you have a good point Hari I think have really good partners. The downside protection because Berkshire is they have a different structure than allstate allstate insurance company but there are so many other things so you might say the downside is lower. I would also argue that. At least at this price level the opposite is also lower for for companies like Berkshire Hathaway and just WanNa say for the record. That a both own stock in Berks Ya McKell and not an allstate at the time of recording. They stick Miley comment on. This is one. I completely agree with everything that's been said I liked Haris highlight there with comparing downside. Risk being probably a lot different than the downside ahead on this one if we would go into a credit contracting type of thing that I would probably paying really close attention for ownership on. This is amusing Armagh Mental. So it's it's coming up with seventeen percent annual volatility based on the current price of one hundred ten dollars a share. It saying the stop would be set at ninety three dollars when you'd be getting out of that. Volatility that the normal volatility range of the price action. So is I would own this. My expectation expectation. Moving forward is that it's going to continue to make money. It's going to continue to do pretty well but for me I would keep adjusting that. Stop because historically is I look at this over the last ten ten years. This thing's been green on our momentum bowl for almost all of that period of time. There's been a few instances where it stepped out of it but joy be watching the the momentum when the volatility volatility steps out of that seventeen percent range to the downside is whenever I'd probably liquidate position to try to minimize that downside risks that Harry's talking about very interesting point you bring up. President also wanted to say in terms of position size. You would probably do something similar to what toby is doing. Like have them like get minor position in the in the lots portfolio and I would be happy to do that with a company like allstate. It's not the best insurance company. I think it's priced well but it's not the best thing doing a good job with capital allocations. But it's not a it's morning insurance. Company than there are a capital allocation Asian company. And the way reasom. I say this is if you look at their the toll acid on amendment nine percent of that is inequities right now. If you're looking at a company like Marquel also very offer virtual as a baby. Berkshire you have twenty nine percent. which is more or less? All that accompanied like McKell is allowed to put it into equities. And no surprise. You Have Tom Gainer. You know was Susmita. WHO's handling that WHO's allocating into McKell ventures? Who who's like like reinvesting into stocks and he has a very good approach was sold like podcast series? A self. How he's doing that so it's more like it's not the top of the class? But what is the valuation. You getting right now. And for that reason I wouldn't put it like this much more than two or three percents portfolio. All right hurry. Let's zero man okay. I'm ready so this time. Might because Graphic the reason this caught my attention was Doodo pauperize. Graphic is a manufacturer but graphite electrodes which are essentially a key ingredient in electric arc furnaces for manufacturing steel. This company was originally founded back in one thousand nine hundred eighty six. The name was National Carbon Company Company. And they were acquired by. Union carbide in nineteen seventeen than in one thousand nine hundred ninety five. They were again brought out as public company. And back in two thousand fifteen I believe Brooks to private and then it lately in two thousand eighteen April two thousand eighteen brooks spun on it off as a IPO public offering and brooks world. He'll holes eighty percent stake. I believe in the company the couple of things to keep in mind as this company has a history of innovation especially in this manufacturing steel and they were the foster come up the USB type of graphite electrodes they were the plus to come up with that and they also are alone for high-quality graphite electrodes in the industry and in fact the leading manufacturers of Govett electrodes they also in two thousand acquired sand rift. which is it? Top manufacturer neater coke which is a raw material are key ingredient does for making graphite electrodes needle. Coke is absolutely clear essential. And they're only companies at scale of Sandra the other one is Philip. Six two six so needle either number two or number three. The rest are either in China. Japan in terms of manufacturing capacity so the reason Brooksville took them. Private was that they were struggling. And aren't they so obviously group little management if you know them they basically have a good tracker of acquiring esoteric businesses. It's like this including a nuclear power plant their operating today in two and a half years. They basically successfully restructured and re positioned graphite tag by selling off non-core assets like neograph division. And then this started focusing more on the core business and that you quite a good would increasing the productivity by saving almost hundred million dollars in cost per year so when they acquired graphic back in two thousand fifteen it was generating around forty five million we bid and many of five hundred and thirty million but now in two thousand eighteen when they a public it was generating a Ebitda one point two billion and a revenue of one point nine billion. So that's what an impact Brooks. Little was was awarded for this in the private equity to National Trade Group. So that's kind of the background. I'll go into why stock currently trading in low but before that let's talk about some of the positives of graphic number one is that it's it's a leading producer of high-quality graphite affect electrodes in fact in that top e the second is it has established itself as a reliable high quality producer with vendor. They'll send has good pricing power because total costs of producing steel through electric arc. Furnace of Mitch Graphite electrode constitute or constitutes only one percent of the car so they do have pricing bowler.

"Fashion I would tend to think you could get away with flipping LSU to one in Ohio state too But I'm I'm quite right but I'm okay either way on it. I think the best college football them when it comes so the coverage of Lsu. Joe Borough is done. What's been the reaction where you live where you cover the sport where SEC nation? Shen when I say where you live we know you guys are based in Charlotte. But it's who you guys reach out to your audience. What's been the reaction for people in that conference conference back to you? What you guys talk about? LSU On the weekends. Yeah it's frankly. There's just an unstoppable ability to the offense and it's and it's borough and he's got this great ray grouper receivers right with Justin Jefferson Jamaa chased Harris Marshall. These guys but at the same time it's the development of Clyde Edward G. Layer. You know their offense works works as well in the passing game as it does because of the emphasis in the run game and having a running back as dynamic as Edwards Allaire is who can catch passes out of the backfield and really line up in the slot can be a really solid third or fourth option at receiver. It really is. It's pick your poison and it's an offense like I have not seen and in the five years or six now football seasons we've covered the SEC with the SEC network. So you know borough gets the love and borough when the Heisman and I think he deserves it but at the same time it's you know it's certainly the Joe Brady impact coming over from the saints. He's thirty years old. He's he's an innovator. On offense much like Lincoln Riley is and it's it's the incorporation corporation of everybody on that field to create the product. We see it's incredible though it really is and if the defense you know now you talk about like Oh you in the past if the defense offense plays like it did it get staying in where it looked like. It was sick of being talked about in a manner as though they're the weakness on that team lookout but we just haven't seen that that's Consistently one final question In Atlanta Georgia. From what you see what we know especially with the The issues of Atwood pickens out in the first half and cage. You're being hurt swift battling that shoulder injury in Georgia pull off an upset here in Orlando. I don't think so I don't think they just don't have. They don't have the weapons they don't have the and even if they did given I mean if you watch them offensively and said to yourself so wild man. They're tough to stop. I mean that's not Georgia. That's never known Georgia this year. And even if even if defensively they hold Lsu too you know twenty four twenty eight points which would be an absolute feet. I don't believe Georgia offensively can score that many so I don't think they can win. This game can catch him on on the SEC network as if we have always joked around my future and my career is in your hands. Dari we do appreciate you kick in but for me like likewise allies by the way and if I have to tell somebody else that no I won't be at the temple game this weekend. Then you're the best my buddy. I thought he sued. I'd rather take care and we'll be back in a minute with Ivan. Mozelle talk about Chris. "They're they're very fundamentally sound when I watch him a start with number eleven gilman the safety. He's a transfer from years ago last year. You're watching this cabinet and the Michigan game. I was like cow love this toot and he's an instinctive football player that will absolutely hit you in the mouth. I think both Ed's players and three or or four eggs players for notre. Dame is really really good. You look at their best player on defense to me is is troy pride junior at cornerback number five when you watch him really really really good football player now. How do I attack the Defensive Notre Dame Notre Dame's in position. They have creative blitz packages. They change up what they do coming off a bye. I promise you they're going to change things up. Here's where I'll say notre dame susceptible defensive tackle spot is not a strength. They're missing tillery inside big time he he was a big time player a year ago. They don't have the answers on the inside their young linebacker so here's what I wanna see from Georgia this week can they line up at pound the football oh I one hundred percent agree with that but now can can they do what Clemson did last year and to Notre Dame in the in the College Football playoff. Can they pound the football make you respect and now can jake from take advantage of guys in the slot. Can you get safeties on wide receivers running up the middle of the field making making big time plays like you saw the Ross at the end of the year for for for for Clemson it gets Notre Dame's defense that to me will be the most interesting acting part about it. I think Georgia I do agree with you. I think Georgia lost a ton of weapons and I think that we're going to find out more about those guys but if you've been watching coaching them in any way shape or form already and you've seen George pickens gotta be an animal. He's he's going to. He's going to be very very special. They've got a couple of guys is on the outside. I think pickens attacks the ball better than anybody. He's got a great frame. He's a he's a freshman. He's six foot three and he's not he's not even two hundred pounds. He's not like a big strong strong guy yet but you can tell he goes and plucks the football and makes big time place blaylock another big body on the outside. That is another young guy again. You're talking about freshman. Okay these are these are freshman guys but they don't look like freshman. Kevin and we're gonNA find out now. They're physically challenged and more importantly mentally delete challenged. He gets Notre Dame this week. Will they answer the call because that to me all offensively. There is no question mark I mean. I have another question mark but I'm talking too much. So these are the biggest question mark will be at wide receiver and are they going to be guys. They can consistently make plays on the outside because you have to bring extra pressure when you mall the people like they do you make a great point though early on in this discussion about this matchup because Notre Dame's defense against the run. They've they have not looked sharp averaging. They've given up over two hundred yards per game since that lost the Clemson meanwhile you know Georgia's averaging nearly three hundred yards per game on the ground so we'll see what with the plan of attack is for Kirby early on to maybe get Jason looks here and then run the football often to see how Notre Dame response on the front lines especially at defensive tackle. We'll be back in a minute to dive into the film room with Pollick but first a word from allstate because mayhem on Saturdays in the fall is inevitable. Mayhem happens on the field off the field and in the polls mayhem lives on the wind in the rain on the foot of an Aaron kick and during a trap game. You'll find mayhem in the parking lot during tailgates charcoal. That's not totally out and arid football through a window. Oh flat tire a law side view mirror etc etc you get the point. All stay protects you for mayhem in the parking lot and outside sided at home and away. You can't stop mayhem from happening but you can get better protected from it with all state the potential for May have during the playoff race. This is rampant underdog. Trap Games in unexpected weather. Get better protected from mayhem with allstate. Contact your local allstate allstate agent today now back to the show okay you broke down a little bit of the film here and one of the cool things. I like about what we can do here. On Wednesdays we get a little reaction from you on on the weekend but we can break down some film and you're in the film room early in the week looking at a bunch of teams who is standing out when we talk about units you mentioned Penn State's defense. You mentioned a little bit of Notre Dame's defense. What are you seeing the film room from these units well. A Penn State's defensive front. Seven is the best I've seen it by far under James Franklin and I'm talking about athleticism. They've had guys that fought in. We're tough but you're talking about. They got linebackers that can run. They got smart linebackers. I think Jan Johnson number thirty six really stuck out to me as a guy that he smart play. Klay understands exactly what he's seeing doesn't mess up at all always in the right spot always doing the right thing campground number six another guy. That's athletic addict. That's very good in the box fast. I mean you're talking about. They got speed man they can. They will be interesting to watch the BUCKEYES. I mean they've got must've heard number ninety seven another guy that's long athletic and they look different than they've ever look you vote. I I've been watching Penn State for years and I'm like where's the athleticism whereas these guys in the box that can really create havoc and make plays and now you're starting to see it really really show up and I think it's going to be interesting to watch them against just all the I I immediately after I watch their front seven defensively thought the only one I would put with them right. Now is the Buckeyes I mean. That's how that's how. Oh good in the big ten. I think the big ten defensive front seven really is hyperactive smart play with unbelie their defensive Lineman man you go turn on the tape and they come off flat back in that might not make sense to people but I'm talking about. They come off with their backs so flat you could put a plate on a need off well when you do that now you're penetrating and you're getting in the backfield and you're you're blowing guys up. They're going to eat up a lot of offensive lines. This season super impressed with what I saw from Penn State's defensive front seven. Oh and they have the by now coming off that victory against pit they looked very good with the goal line stand and now how they get ready for Maryland Maryland team coming off. That stunning lost the temple nor did I say stunning. I'm saying because how the offense you know the first two weeks I looked fantastic and then they were stopped inside the goal line eight times in they walked away. Somebody say the red zone and banged up on the offensive line by the way so that would be interesting spot to watch because they're not particularly deep but they they'll they'll figure that and I think Josh Jackson becomes more a part of the offense in that aspect is he's a big strong kid that can run. They gotta find a way to use that he has to figure it out because temple was in that backfield the entire game and Josh took a ton of it's from that that Front Front vorwarts apple and the House look really good in a contest like that so penn state and Maryland coming off those buys. We'll see them next week all right. This is also another chance not not just talk about the units but this is a chance for you to also talk about players that you think that are under the radar that we will be talking about sooner we could be talking about Saturday night it. Was that one guy this week. We should keep an eye on boy when you turn on the tape. Kevin and you watch number four an outside linebacker for the University Garcia Georgia. His name is Nolan Smith. This dude is an adult I mean he is a grown up and it's not just it's not just the size and speak because he has that he's got heavy physical hands like this dude for freshman. I mean I've seen him. Bull rush multiple guys this season and not like not backwards. I'm talking about flat on your back. Boy like have seat baptism in the name of the father the son always I mean it was unbelievable. Ebel and more importantly his mentality dude. He chases the ball. Wherever it goes you can tell he loves the Game Nolan Smith number four outside outside linebacker if Georgia's GonNa win a national championship which I think they're going to have a good chance of doing. There's a Lotta guys. We've talked about with Adam Anderson and there's there's a ton on a guys that have been at Georgia over the last several years that have had big time potential this guy right here. I think is going to have a chance to be super super special and you'll see him prime time against Notre Dame even though it's the third week of the season and he hadn't played Atanas Fourth Week of the season. He's he's going to be very much a part of the game plan also ah you you notice that the sacs have been for Georgia. What do you see in from the entire unit here defensively yeah when you say up I mean you're you're. That's is an understatement. When you talk about Georgia the last couple years they've had guys that could kinda rush the passer but now they had dudes that can rush the passer and the whole game game for them has changed by the way they have literally right now. At this point in the season half of the amount of sex they had a year ago half so now through twelve they got twelve in the first three and last year they had what twenty four through fourteen games twenty four total when you're talking about Georgia to have only twenty four sacks last year. What's been the difference here on that big jump here well. There's a couple reasons for that that make this group well first of all you feel more aggressive when you blitz and you feel better about your team when you know you can cover and Georgia does not have the Andre Baker and they are they. They are not as good as the secondary when you lose a guy like that but I'll say this. They got four to six corners that could start for most teams in college football. That's how good and deep they are. What does that mean now can be more aggressive. I can bring more pressure. I mean they. They're going to pressure more than you've seen them and it's also guys like no one. Smith that I told you about like they've got what they've got tons of guys up front now that can get after the quarterback and you're gonNA continue to see them grow and continue to see them play more guys that they rotate through but you're talking about having three four five guys now they can get after the quarterback make life difficult not only that tackles for a loss their third a third of the way where they were a year ago for that and you know how important that is second thirteen as opposed to second seven or second nay it just you dictate to the offense now and you dictate situational channel football in such a better way..

"By the Georgia BULLDOGS they've deferred. So Texas will get the football to start our game. And what about the game plan? David. How do these two teams come out with a W? It's sitting down with Tom Herman the head coach for Texas yesterday. And he talked about his greatest fear coming into this game. It's massive offensive line for Georgia road graders upfront, and then you got. Andrea swift and Elijah Holyfield running the ball behind them. His biggest concern was can we hold up against their run game. And then on offense. They just want to run the ball. And Tom Herman's words adequately to set up things for Sam L anger down the field to to great wide. Receivers calling Johnson will Jordan Humphry big receivers can make great adjustments on the football. And then you add in the x factor. Zam etlinger running ability. He's sneaky good running the football. He ran the ball. Just look at how many times around the over fifty times in the last three games against Oklahoma going back to last year. He's a threat down in the red zone. So watch for Sam elegant, I think he's at cast ever. Great game. Throwing the ball at just as good a game selectively with his feet, Georgia the home team, of course, the higher seed the red jerseys with the gray pass white numerals red helmets, Texas. All in white with the Burs, orange numerals. This is the fifth meeting between these two schools. In fact, the last time they played was a long time ago. Nineteen Eighty-four cotton ball that was one. Eugene a by a score of ten to nine. I think we'll see more points tonight. Rear Rodriguez Blankenship will kick off for Georgia right to left ninety seven kickoff. Seventy nine touch, bats. We'll see a little Jordan upper gets his hands on the football on the big easy tonight. Georgia kicking off from right to left the AllState Sugar Bowl is underway. That's going to go through the end zone. The ball out to the twenty five yard line. So David let me ask you this knock toying tonight for the Georgia BULLDOGS. De'andre baker. They're great cornerback. He's thinking about the National Football League. Now does this give any edge to the Texas off? I definitely think it's a plus. I mean, he could be the best quarterback in the country, greedy Williams, pretty good at LSU. But that opens up things more in the secondary for Allender quarterback for Texas to take shots down the field to Johnson Humphrey lot of speed in the slot. The tube Rene, there's some weakness in some younger players are going to be rotating in that secondary to Georgia. Doniger in gun to receivers farside left one to the right? Gonna throw on. I doubt swing it out to watch it at the left black upfield egos at thirty and tackled with a thirty two yard line. A gain of seven David and Fitzsimmons. Telling us now to de'andre Walker joint injury, the fine Jack linebackers Georgia. He's not gonna play either. Yeah. He's their best pass rusher. By far the guy that say threat on the edge and two big losses. Coming into the game for this Deepak another slant. This home free Humphry across the forty five little the field and the entire offensive line came up to help push the wide receiver to midfield. That's teamwork. That's a game of nineteen. Thought Texas coming out with tempo Bill they're going to go quick. They're going to try to wear down this defense affront for Georgia, and they're going to be passed heavy in their place election. Handoff running play Watson far left side turns the corner that he is stopped gotta couples from the forty nine to forty seven Jillian Rochester it on. The stop mentioned that Georgia defense giving up to state team points a game one thirty on the ground one eighty in the air, but the game we did it LSU two hundred and seventy five yards to the Tigers in the loss to Alabama. They gave up one fifty seven. And that's on the ground second out eight opening series taxes moving left to right here on the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Humphry comes emotion your side, right? Elegant play action fake lots of time that a fire over the middle ball. Cartwright can free them Watson wrapped up that. He's tackled at the forty three yard line. A gain of four Tyler Clark on the stop. It's gonna be third down about go for a first and hard to overstate the loss. Bill again, if the Andre Baker he wanted to Thorpe award is the best defensive back and cross football. We find out for me and Fitzsimmons time decision. Best pass rusher for you g is out. But see if they'd get off the field here on third down trips to the right side. This is third and three Texas Georgia forty three yard line Gallagher. Little swing pass out. The luck flat Ingram running back breaks inside thirty five thirty and finally wrestled to the ground twenty seven yard live Richard counting on the stop. And Texas moves the chains. A gain of seventeen yard elegant has such a great field for his timing cells the drop back pass. But he's got a swing route out to his laugh. That's his primary route he's going there. All the way it gives his back a great ball in the front pocket. Good shape. So he could turn the ball upfield for the first down Johnson the wide receiver. Humphry a slot on the near side. Right running back remains Ingram. Just caught that last past. He gets the call elegance gonna throw outside left, and it's going to be another. I how that was Devon. Uber. Nee who feed Richard account along the far sideline. Breakway action fake ball marked at the thirteen yard line. I doubt it's always gonna be a tough match up for a safety. Rene the fastest player on this team hundred meter champion. The state of taxes ran a two point two or ten point two seven in the hundred meters. First down in ten Texas opening possession of Georgia thirteen they're moving left to right ball on the far left. Tash elegant in the gun now checks over to the far sideline. That's where the Texas benches late clock inside. Ted. He gets the play. Now changed running back Ingraham steps behind them to the right? And Ingram the hand off to him going nowhere and stop start around thrown to the ground by Jonathan Ledbetter. The defensive end it'll be second down and nine. They don't have a dominant back Ingram has a lot of upside. He's big time win and the recruiting department, but this year, they certainly had made big strides over a year ago where etlinger was their leading rusher on the earth only three hundred and eighty yards second quarterback draw. They were waiting for him to go stopped at the ten yard line gain of won-. What counts in on the stop? David new read articles about elegant they call it the slash quarterback slash fullback. That's how tough runner is just as likely to try to run you over. Best to run around you when he runs the football. And that concerns Tom Herman from time to time Tom Herman of like to see him a void contact more often as opposed to what he tried to take defenders third down Texas seven at the Georgia Tann opening possession. First quarter. Bellinger, OH the snap trips. Nearside right. These back to throw lots of time goes near side a little slot to Humphry trying to fight for the I doubt. He's got a juggling catch hold on Eric Stokes. Finally, brought him down little Jordan Humphry little Jay with a first down in elegant them. Right back up to the line of scrimmage goal with tempo. Inside the five another really well placed ball on the first down. I down in running back and goal from the two quarterback keeper sweeping the right side. Touchdown Texas wanna drive to start the game. Save elegant stores from two yards out and the longhorns late six to nothing. Well, that's a heck of a drive to start the game and Sam etlinger keyed at all we came out in the big twelve championship game against Oklahoma. We played right on key had a great game in the Red River shoot shoot shoot out and tonight Bill he's come out. And he's throwing the ball. Extremely sharply. That's a case of Lincoln Riley sort of out thinking himself there, then you can't go three and out if if you go three and out and put your defense right back on the field for Oklahoma. It's a recipe for disaster. Here's a call. Field. The touchtown will stand outstanding pitch and catch too. Hello, Henry rugs. You can't say enough about this Alabama receiving core. Well, if you're Oklahoma and kind of Murray, I haven't touched the field yet. But you expected this right? Expect Alabama to score pretty much every time they get the football. And so there's no panic. They've been down two touchdowns in two games this year in the first quarter. There will be no panic on that sideline. Seven plays. Seventy five yards off the opening kick. The first play was a fifty yard pass play to the Bob day. Smith. And we'll see how Oklahoma response now. Has the football on a team at his own thirty five. Trey Brown is back the poor Oklahoma. We about to get off first book Tyler Murray and the number word write it off. Sports at the air. Brad. We'll get an opportunity from his own for the right side. Cuts to the sideline out to the twenty five forced out of a twenty six yard live. And that's where the Sooners will take over Todd mcshay. You were that Alabama ends on what it looked like you. I was on first and second down. Oklahoma did a good job at the line of scrimmage holding their ground. But on third down that third goal from the one Alabama won the war in the trenches. They average about three hundred and fifteen pounds across the board of their offense that you all that muscle and Harris really didn't have much work to do for a touchdown. The thirty seven of the Irish second down and nine two receivers each side back to throw Lawrence that tipped in the air complete. There's a low throw trying to get it to the H carrot Williams. Second time he's been involved with a pass play tranquil on the coverage. Here we go again damned on the third down for Notre Dame's defense, and it was the game plan for Notre Dame. Defensively. Take away the run takeaway ATM takeaway, the tailbacks for Clemson really the story in the first half. At least one Clemson spent on offense is Trevor Lawrence with his arm and a speed we found ways to export Notre Dame down nine at the thirty seven of Notre Dame at gotta get pressure on the quarterback. And we've got a flag on the plane maybe start off at seventy three. Five yard penalty down was on Tremaine anchor. When the other stalwarts of this offensive line is thirty nine game. Clemson uniform really speaks to the balance of Clemson has on offense balances and about running at the same number of times. If you pass it it's about a defense takes one aspect of your offense away. You can hurt the defense. You could punish the defense. Reclaiming that structure and Clemson very comfortable keeping the goal and Trevor Lawrence his hands what defenses load up against the Iran. The penalty makes it third and fourteen Clemson five of nine in third down conversions in this game. They're forty four Morris. Back to throw three man rushed. The family finds his. Touchdown Justin Ross. I do second long strike it. Again. That's forty two yards. Town the middle of the field. He'd be killed. Huge touchdown near the end of the first half for the Clemson Tigers. This is a monster mismatch. Got one of the great young receivers. True. Freshman in the game skillman the safety. It's a same row down the right hash marks. The first half of play Bill rosinsky David Norrie upstairs down on the sideline. Let's check in with the and Fitzsimmons lost walk by me. And Trevor Lawrence is border back to through the past is looked at him his head perfect route Ross said helluva throw, those two freshman may not be Clemson if a certain letter hadn't gone to Davos, we their head coach when he was in Alabama guys this story about one letter a, mama. Dan, a heck of a football career, Dabo Sweeney. When he was a freshman walk on an Alabama. They can't come from nothing the price of Pelham Alabama his dream was to play for the crimson tide. Well, he's a walk on. He's living in an apartment right off Cam. This his mom is actually there with him. And don't be surprised to see a few different wrinkles from this. Auburn offense today Gus malzahn higher they do offense coordinator when chip Linke left earlier this month he announced he would take over play calling for this game and moving forward play calling duties three years ago told us it is time for him. He wants to get back to being him. I talked to some of the players. They said they seen a difference in him in practices this week. He's been more asserted. They can see it in his body language. They can feel it through his accident, bro. I play pass coming near side. It's Ryan Davis. A team leading receiver comes with sixty four catches and he will pick up enough yardage. To get it across the thirty two to thirty three yard line. Maybe the thirty one yard line as a back up a couple of yards gain of five Jarrett's making his final started in Auburn uniform as he has said that he will bypass his senior season and take his chances connects level head off left side. "Now, I do not do never okay. Well, they messed up that the insurance and they put me as liability with nomad pay. Okay. Until the car. Okay. Hold on. Who's your carrier is if Fred Loya wise AllState AllState, that's why here's the thing. You're supposed to turn down med pay with your initials. Did you do that? I guess. Oh, yeah. Okay. I don't know. What they do. Well, many times they'll lie about it. Because they don't wanna see medpay is a bad coverage. Let me tell you. Why insurance companies hate it because it's non-chargeable. They can't charge it against you. And not only its non-reimbursible, I believe, and it's also cheap. So they don't want you to buy it. They don't want you to buy it. So therefore, if you had met pay this would be a non-issue, your medpay would take care of it and go after the other party, but since you don't have medpay we get down to the Bill itself. And by the way, you should call an attorney, even if by the way, even if you don't hire an attorney someone like John Fuller would free of charge answer questions for you. And I mean that if you said, listen, you know, Tom said answer some questions here. Here's the situation. What should I say to that guy? Who's only offering me a couple of grand? But let's get down to the chiropractor Bill. We I didn't use the car practice name because I don't wanna reflecting badly on him because I'm not sure he did anything wrong. And so I asked one of our experts Dr Mike header shite at bright light chiropractic to take a look at it. And he's not the one in. He's not the one associated or he's not the one who did it. I just wanna ask him as a chiropractor because I consider him a pretty straight shooter. Now, Dr Mike header tight, Dr Mike, what do you think about the Bill? I mean for a car accident is this run of the mill usual, or do you see some what do you see? Taking a look bigger. Yes. I can just taking a look at it. I mean, if it's something where? Yeah. They hire practice could obviously do business than any other chiropractor. He's doing traction and them and massage and trigger point therapy and adjusting and all that that's all things that he can do within its scope. So that you know, as far as chiropractic, I anything wrong with what are you coding where he was billing for and what about the amounts? Do you think the amount seen excessive? The seemed within what is okay for him to Bill. I didn't I didn't see anything outstanding on there that I would say was. Not not good for him to do for the patient. And she's saying that she's feeling seventy percent better. That's gonna that's still better than you. Now. Let me ask something wreck San do you like I mean the treatment itself are do. Appreciate forget about anything financial on do you feel satisfied with the treatments. So far. Yes. Absolutely. But here's the problem is when I called I talked to three different lawyers that refuse to take case because it's not financially beneficial, right? That's right. It's not big enough. That's right. Because I didn't see a real MD is how they put it. They don't wanna they won't take the case. So here I am to fight with them myself now between the insurance company, and the doctor the insurance companies saying that it's excessive unrealistic the doctor saying, I wanna talk to your attorney, and I can't find a deterrent either represent me, but you can find you can find an attorney to give you some advice. John will give you some advice. Listen, how badly are you injured? Let's talk life. I all how was how bad is your car? Your total. It's total. And by the way, Dr Mike thank you for being here. And do you have a new website name? I you got a new address that's more direct. What is it? Late Denver dot com. That's cool. That's cool. Bright and your family dot com is pretty cool too. But bright light Denver. I want to ask him something real quick. Hey, doc, if you go in and pay cash, are you generally cheaper than if you're billing insurance and if so why? Say that question. What do you do you have you direct Bill and people pay you directly or they put it in or insurance? Do you charge more when it's put through insurance? No, I don't have the same. I had the same rate. So it's fifty bucks or a cash adjustment. Fifty dollars for an insurance adjustment. That is so awesome. Thank you. Now. A lot of them do. And again, Mark I understand there's overhead when you build through insurance. There's a lot of overhead. I mean, people literally need sometimes fulltime staff, I know MD's offices sometimes have fulltime staff just to code and get stuff out. Anyway, let's let's not turn that into this. Let's let's talk about this wreck San here's the deal you need to get some help. How much damage was to your car? They totaled it. Okay. Well, okay. Then. Numbers. They just how bad are you hurt? Like did you go to the hospital? I did not go to the hospital. I read it two days, actually. 'cause I didn't know I was hurt. And then I was in severe pain. Did you get a medical diagnosis other than a chiropractor? Not until like two weeks ago. Because what did they what did the doctor give you as a medical diagnosis? So he gave me four months of physical therapy, which I'm gonna start. What did he say? Or she say is wrong whiplash. The doctor didn't know the doctor didn't say anything of that nature. He just said that while it was coated. What was it coated? Oh as that. You have the thing. I haven't on my I don't have. Okay. So the doctor gave you a diagnosis. You know, you. Okay. Well, listen, I'm not so sure this is such a small case, are you hurting? So I'll wake up signed by EMI after noon my hip hurt. If I. Did you miss a lot of work? I missed four months of work. Listen man, you have to call John Fuller. You have to. Okay. Okay. Is it six? Let me get that. Number straight. Suzanne. Can you get it for me? Please John five nine seven three zero three five nine seven forty five hundred. Thanks, did you just pull that out of your head right now. I did man come on you young woman. You hey, I used to be able to do that. I can promote clients. So listen wreck Sam please honest to goodness. Would you call them? Okay. Hold on. And make sure Suzanne she gets that number. And then thank you Dr Mike for weighing in on this three zero three seven one three talk. So I wanna talk to our Guinea pig today. And brandy you liked this policy for yourself. You bought an Escalade you use it for remodeling. Some other stuff I want to know this you like to so much. You bought another two policies is that right? I actually have a second policy on myself as well. And then I have one in each of my kids know, fully, what are you? Putting a nevermind. It's none of my no, it really isn't any of my business is some guy just wrote say, you don't sound like a single mom because you you have too much money to put away, and that's the point you have to have a certain amount to put away. But then at the same time. What else are you gonna do with it? You have did you way other options like day, trading or other unserious? Did you wear? I had an IRA. I had mutual funds. I tried day trading. And I lost all of my money in day trading. I had a couple of different saving. Accounts. And so you have to policies for yourself and for your children. That's correct. And you're putting all your maximum out. Well, not well, I don't know if max. I pay an annual premium. I decided what the premium is going to be. And then I paid each year on your building cash value on all of them. Yes. I am. What are you going to use them for with your daughters right now with them, you know, a son and daughter right there? Well, they're seven and so we have probably braces coming. We're going to have cars, we're going to have college numerous of expected and unexpected things. This is the fifth best red zone defense and all the college football throughout the course of the season. So they've done an excellent job of allowing some yardage. But once you get inside the twenties, they put the clamps down and they'd done that here to this high powered Oakland offense early. Seven six Texas leading Oklahoma force the eyes of the college football nation watching this one. I'm sure Ohio State very interested in what happens Oklahoma today. They are all interested in what Alabama and Georgia do in the SEC championship coming up in just a few hours off to be championship Saturday in college football, cyber will run into the kickoff left to right. As George Humphry watches it. Go out the back of the end zone for a touchback ten seconds into the second quarter, San Bellinger and the Texas offense coming back on the field with a seven sixty. What's your early read on this game? Oklahoma some troubles offensively using three timeouts whether it was trying to diagnose the defense and taking too long or whether it was loudness in this building as well. I think it's a little bit of both in college is trying to do a little bit too much. I don't wanna say he's rattled. But clearly having all through your time out in the opening frame, that's problematic for Lincoln Riley in his office. Texas takes over twenty five yard line. Sam elegance touchdown run. The only touchdown of the game with quarterback takes the strap on. I twenty five is good protection down the left side. Looking for Johnson. He pushed off there's a fly down. He made the catch at the forty five Carnell modeling coverage. But which way is it going what's going to be interference on Parnell motley? But the catch is gonna count. That's what I saw. Now. Defense number eleven penalties. One on one coverage part now motley working down low on the six foot six Colin Johnson. Just gonna be a fade ball good protection. Sam etlinger just puts a lot of air underneath the ball. There's a little bit of jockeying for position. But I really could have been a no call excellent job and concentration Mukalla Johnson to make the play. Instead ball is at the Oklahoma forty four yard line. I down in ten Texas. Eleanor back to pass on. I doubt Dow pulls it out to run up the middle. He's a solid runner. And he's taken down about three yards shy of the first Kenneth Murray and the nose tackle Neville Gallimore. The stop a six yard game too. So smart with the football diagnosis the coverage down the field. Nothing's air protections. Pretty good. He finds a running lane off the right side. He picks up a nice gain on first down down and four from the thirty eight of Oklahoma. They got quickly to the line. Now, they stand up and turn to their right to looks to the Texas sideline. Bellinger has trae Watson in the backfield offset right behind him. Into Bekri tight end off to the right side of the line. Play clock is at six very deliberate count for etlinger down to Corey down to. There's the snap. Back to pass elegant floats on toward the end zone. And it is Johnson. Incomplete coverage. Parnell motley Texas fans want to flag. None this time. And a lot of pushing and shoving coming down the sidelines going to work a double move, Colin Johnson stuttering go, but it's outstanding coverage by Parnell. He stays right there at his hip. That's a good. No. You get good position. They're both kind of fighting there for the spot pass overthrown Colin Johnson crowd wants a flag. But I know call by the official testing third down and four Texas at the sooner thirty eight yard line three step drop. Fires to the flat. It is incomplete. It was intended for trae Watson and trade Brown the quarterback. Good liquid. Couldn't hang on fourth down zone coverage. They wanna throw the flat route to Watson back from the far sideline. Trae brown. Nobody comes into his own. So he steps up immediately makes it nice it. Of course that fall out. Like the offense is staying on the field ear there nine for twelve on fourth down this year. Is Texas fourth and four Tom Herman the head coach Bobby gambling here. Rom the Oklahoma thirty eight yard line two receivers each way. Etlinger takes the snap. They rushed four quick pass. Caught. I doubt left side would Johnson at the twenty knock down at the fifteen yard line Texas in business again, no fear for top in. This offense is gonna roll the dice and go for college Johnson's been a theme here. Third picking on Cornell. Motley just a quick hits route he throws it to a colleague gets right to the first down six hits him with the vide- spins out, and it's the sidelines for a big pickup and another fourth down conversion for this Texas offense twenty three more yards for college out to those eighty seven yards on three receptions. I intend Texas from fifteen of Oklahoma Bellinger. Takes the snap play action fake. Now, it's gonna be a L eager on the numbers. Ten angling toward the sideline out of bounds at about eight and close to the seven yard line. Robert Barnes defending pets at play fake may slip out the tide in Andrew bekker's, kind of playing fullback. It was pretty. Well, covered it Sam etlinger realize on the near sideline. There was nobody home loss contain Ellen your tux it and barge works out of bounds. Inside the ten yard line. San eleanor's pointed out the top of the broadcast been banged up dealing with a shoulder injury. Coach's quipped he's gonna go at it strong. If he has to hold the MVP trophy with his left arm, so beer, right? I was team as a seven six lead second and three inside the ten to give Watson across for a first to the four yard like most of the three a gain of four Bolton and motley the tackles first and goal, Texas. Yeah, we were talking to coach is you're gonna change your play calling with with the shoulder of Sam etlinger. They said they're going to have to carry him off the field, and he told coach this week coach, I was born for this moment. I've read first and goal from the four gives it to Watson on the read option up to middle stops extended after he got did they blow him down at the floor. He was close to the goal line. But they're going to Mark that back closer to the forest. So they said he was stopped before that second effort. I and stretch toward the goal line yet biggest knee hit the ground. He was kind of crawling on all tours. He hits the ground. Nice job by Kenneth Murray. Filling the whole make it attack second down and goal just shy of the three for Texas. Bellinger has three receivers to the right. Trae Watson in the backfield eleven thirty five to go in the half mentioned it earlier this heavy quarterback run game. They get inside the five zero to got a rushing touchdown. Does allegations about the three and a half yard line. Second and go elegant is gonna tuck it run it up the metal bolts into the hands on two touchdown runs for the quarterback. Sam alagar. This one goes for three yards the Texas longhorns. Thirteen six lead top physical runner. He's the leader this football team and the coaches soldiers yesterday. He's just got that it factor. They get inside the red zone. You're not going to stop Sam Elliott. They're gonna pull the guard. Patrick. I did it to Sam etlinger lowering your shoulder meeting contact at the goal line and fighting through for a second rushing touchdown of the day. He's not Tim tebow. But he's kind of built that way. He's got that. Here's the extra point for Jaco right through the uprights and the Texas longhorns. Have a couple of Sam elegance touchdown runs with eleven twenty two to go in the first half leading number five Oklahoma, fourteen to six this is the big twelve.

Because if I was visiting in the space age Jetsons, the situation, I would really have a problem. Yeah. This feels like regular does better lighting than the other one. Yeah. The leading lighting was a little often that in the one or the other things that that was better a little bit better about the seventh floor of the trip building. Since you've been on the show you all right? Tell me about your experience working with the factory. Well, you know, they like they like to drink. I just said I don't drink. So it was it was interesting. So, yeah, it's one of the reasons I I I haven't seen those people in a very long. It is a they are a a nice rowdy bunch, and they're wonderful wonderful and some of my best friends. Yes. I just can't be around rounded. It's interesting thing. I had fun. And I also met some really great people. And I had I had a lovely time. I also am just getting older. And when you're young you can do a lot. I mean, you when you're old you can do a lot of drink, but the damage is more severe and so good for them. Go for you did fight city. Right. And who'd you play in that I played I played the the the mother of the lead character, and I also played like some other bit characters. And I I played the old lady. Basically, I love dead, and I didn't do any fighting. It was a big fight combat. Yeah. I was like, oh, no. I'm not doing any hobbies sitting over here. Tell me when you need me that sounds that sounds exactly like what I'd wanted. So sure humans. I'm not a party. Dear. So, but they they, you know, good for them. They've been doing this a long time twenty five years so they're entering their twenty season. And it's the next show is written by Manny mile area. He's good people. Great person is really good people. See I was in that since I've been here. And and I basically I just I get any of the did you do any of these Chicago dick wolf shows. I go in for the, you know, it's so funny. I go in for them all the time. Yeah. Never book it. And I I just it's like. I booked empire. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was hilarious. Just hilarious. And would you work with Sarah in it? No. I didn't work with Sara. I worked with this. This Lucius is the woman who plays Lucy's mother. Anyway, Terrence house. Yeah. Yes. She was love. Everyone was lovely. I had a great time. The dick wolf shows. I go in for like office assistant, number one, two three five garbage woman. Whatever never book it. But you know, what I'm telling you is for the birds. Yeah. No control, you just walk in. You're like, well, I guess I don't know if that was terrible. Right. But then you never hear. Yeah. I got it gets so tiring. Well, my friend, Mike view. Yeah. He. That's why he left LA. Yeah. I mean, that's why you left it's crazy. And he, you know, he went out there thinking, okay? You know, what I'm doing really well here in Chicago. It was on television on television. He was he booked a bunch of stuff, right? This removed back from LA. Oh, but even like all the he had done. He's done a lot of theater, and he booked he booked a bunch of commercials and stuff like that. And then he moved out to LA. He was out there two thousand for. He was he was he was there for nine months. Yeah. And in the middle of the night. After you know, like not being happy. Yeah. He came home loaded up his truck and left. Yeah. Just left in the middle of the night. You still have three months left on his least he didn't care, and he just left. You can't take it. Sometimes. No. And so that's why he can eat something else like writing or something I sit tell people take up crochet. Do something asides just acting. I mean, some people could just act Jennifer Lawrence is doing an okay job for herself. But most people need a hobby. Otherwise, our second thing. Yeah. No, it's true. Do you want to have some sort of backup plan when you're doing that? Because it can be really I mean also could just be like if you take it really really seriously could be soul-crushing. That's a good way to start. Mine was Phil Collins, really. Yeah. At the it wasn't the United Center when I was a kid. I can't remember the name of that the United Center. What's the one out AllState AllState arena now? Oh, yeah. Used to be the Rosemont horizon at Rosemont horizon. Creek. We're old. What was your first conversation? First concert was George Clinton where is in Cleveland, Ohio, and maybe nine or ten my mom was women a go like no triple treating on Halloween. So I missed. So is it a mixed emotion? Then you have about your first concert having to miss Halloween. I was putting the entire time. Maybe have this voice in us. Maybe like five ten at the time. So chubby kid my size like this stinks handy. I yeah. I just saw family arguing on the metro the other day. And there was a kid. He was he was probably around twelve or thirteen. I have a picture of the family because he was he was being. So he was like this is like swearing his mom and dad he was saying that it was s the guy said he was and they were going to a concert. He's like, I don't even like his music. I don't know why you're making me do this. You're using my birthday as an excuse to do something you want. But he was like going. It was it was so loud on the traffic. Anybody else? I had if I talked to my parents that way or if I swore you would get off the train, and I'd be home and with soap and my mouth. Yeah. He had his headphones in his kindle and little brother the same way. I don't have any of their faces in the photo. But I didn't know what I was going to take a picture of them just to remind me of this family, and what other well, I never say anything other families. I would obviously I wouldn't comment on him swearing at them. I mean, do you ever comment on someone who swearing at their kids? Nope. I just kind of look the other way. I actually one time a woman I saw her. She was a very large woman. And there was she was dragging this little kid, the kid had done something and she hauled off and smack the, and I, and I've never said anything, and I know, you know, I've never said anything, but I went over to her. And I said really and the kids crying kids crying. I said, oh, I said, oh that was a fair fight. Wow. That's all I say she said, and I was I was younger at the time. When I said it says maybe twenty years ago, and she said one day, you'll have kids and you'll understand that. Yeah. And no matter what happens the doesn't. And this was a shopping mall. I man I have two kids, and I've never felt the urge to hit either. And this was a this is this is a smack. This would have been like call the police cannabis MAC. I had spanked one time because I my dad, and it's so funny because looking back my dad, and I would cross the street on northwest highway where I grew up pretty busy street, and we would like walk out. We wouldn't go to the Crosswalks. Right. So we would just walk with him across the street when there were no cars, but I was too young to understand that you cross when there's no cars. So I was about to run across the street. My dad grabbing by the risking back and spanked me, and I didn't understand. I was like, you know, it was just the most confusing way to teach me that lesson. I know he did it because he was scared. Oh, yeah. Right. That was the only reason he spanked me. So it's one of those things where I see things happening in public that I don't always step in. But I really want to which leads me to a transition to black club Chicago because well, the idea is telling the stories at the at the block level, right? What's going on from community to community? And I'm watching my own neighborhood. Sort of have these debates online about what it means to be a citizen of that nature of Jefferson. Mark. And I'm curious as the sorta responser getting from folks at from block, Chicago where you guys are. You're the reincarnation of DNA Chicago, you're getting down to the bare bones of what it means to be a Chicago by telling me stories, what kind of reaction are you getting from readers. Usually positive, but always responsive connect with these stories whether being my neighborhood or any of the day we cover or even the idea that people want more coverage and their neighborhood on four time basis. Hopefully will get there that hopefully, but eventually we will get there. And it's exciting every day. Are they are they sending links things? Oh, you gotta do this story. How do you make the choices why you should contact the editors I would their perspective on things? And then also think what stories that impact my community on a daily basis or. Kind of things I see like oh that stands out. So it's one of those constant back and forth of something that I league likes or something that the community can identify with immediately. Well, I wanna talk about when we come back from this break about the Gwendolyn Brooks school in the achievement that they've they've been really working towards and the notoriety that they're finally getting because I was not familiar with the program there. I would see kind of I'm lists and things like that. Because you always hear about whether it's a lane tack or Whitney young is going to lynbrook say grade school or high school high school high school that when we come back because we always say, you know, what can we do in these communities? It sounds like there's a lot of work being done already. Get a lot of why don't they just and maybe they already are in some ways. More in a moment on seven twenty WGN. To.
