"Is involved. That's first game with fans is going to be a huge deal. It's going to be special occasion For everybody involved and I'm sure they will find a way to make it something special Whether the guys have their rings already your agreed Thank you so much for making time today. It stay healthy and We'll talk soon mark. I eye catching up with always appreciate that and I do think this Major League Baseball Situation between players and owners is very interesting to watch. You know that proposal that the owners put out there yesterday to significantly cut salaries. But based on sort of a tiered cut into the higher paid players are going to get more of a larger percentage cut the lesser paid players A less percentage cut You get a guy you know. Make in thirty million bucks a year. Twenty million bucks a year and he's got to take a thirty percent pay. Cut You know for this year but he still making six million in the case of the twenty million dollar Guy Or you know in the in the case of of the Thirty Million Dollar Guy. Nine million bucks a year. No one's going to understand if that guy has a problem with it no one will. The players rejected that proposal from the owners yesterday. Apparently they've got another offer coming from the Players Association soon. We'll see how it plays out. Mark seems to be optimistic. All right one last thing before we go for the day on this day I just happened to have seen the sports center this morning on this day in nineteen eighty one to thirty nine years ago. Julius erving Dr J. Made History became the first player and the only player named NBA Mvp after winning and ABA MVP or he was the most valuable player with the New York Nets and became the NBA MVP and nineteen eighty one with the Philadelphia. Seventy sixers The seventy sixers that year lost to the Celtics blew a three one series lead in the Eastern Conference finals loss to the Celtics. The Celtics went on to beat the rockets in the final. Dr J. said on this day thirty nine years ago since I've been in the NBA. Only two things had not happened yet. One was being named. Mvp and the other was winning a championship. Now there's only one I feel. It could happen soon So it didn't happen that year because they didn't La beat Boston. It would happen two years later when one Moses Malone was added to the lineup and Moses was dominant on the eighty three sixers team that ended up sweeping the l. a. in the NBA finals in a playoffs. Where they went as much famously. Said he said Fo- fo- fo- and It ended up being. I think four five four I think they won the Eastern Conference finals in five games over the bucks. If my memory serves me correctly I done for the day? Forget listen to me on the team nine. Eighty the team ninety APP the team. Nine hundred dot com Nine eighty or ninety five point nine. Fm If you're in out about to nine am Weekday Mornings back tomorrow with Tommy..

"Good environments for proper eating habits as well as Exercise that's so true like you know I I first of all most hotels haven't been open. You know a lot of hotels have completely shut down. But you know just the concern of you know housekeeping in the meals in the person living in a hotel for the last several months probably been more exposed than than most people outta and who knows. We may even be learning that. That's a good thing I you know. Especially if you're a symptomatic or mildly symptomatic Yeah and get the antibody exactly so one more thing before I let you go. Let's switch subjects to to hoops real quickly because you? You cover the wizards and I don't want to talk about the wizards. I'm a much bigger basketball fan than I am. a hockey fan by by miles. I it's probably my first love not that the NBA Playoffs Sir. Or or my slow but I wish we were right now in. The midst of watching Clippers Lakers in the western conference finals. I think it was looking forward to that as much as anything. After the you know after March Madness What do you think we would've seen had we had an NBA season continue? We'd be in the conference finals. Right now Do you think we would have seen Lakers clippers in? Who Do you think would have emerged from that and did you have Milwaukee penciled into the NBA Finals? Already into that. When I I think I probably had milwaukee penciled in just from from observer of fan standpoint.

"Number one they can only regress from number one by not performing well in the Round Robin Wright and his before. We even get to ask about testing. The second question asked to Batman was basically like. What do you say to Boston and Saint Louis fans about? This doesn't seem all that fair and I'm can you really prioritize right now so she'll be whining? Bruins to the best team in hockey right now. And they're gonNA they're gonNA do just fine but you know we haven't even gotten to the questions of testing and cost it that well you know if they really did. WanNa make it completely fair because Boston. Correct me if I'm wrong but that is significantly in the like. They were the best team by a lot in hockey right now and torn in terms of point total. You know they could have sort of weighed the round robin to wear you know Well I did read that basically if Boston ties for no I. They're gonNA. It's the points that they had a tent that will be the tiebreaker. But maybe I could've know in these games given them a one nothing lead or something like that something to wait it in their favor. But you know it's to your point. It's like good. God after what everybody's been through. Just the thought that we might get games in. They might be playoff games. Let's not worry about seating because let's be honest to these games aren't going include a home-ice advantage in Las Vegas or one of these cities where these teams exist. Get are the hub cities. But he but they're no fans so there's no fan so there's no home ice advant advantage really other than you know being able to make the first line change or whatever And and and so. It really doesn't matter in terms of matchup in it's never mattered hockey. Anyway I mean this is the sport where the results are the most random in the postseason versus the other sports right and to your point about whole nice. Not only will there be no fans at these games but I think the. Nhl is strongly hinting that they don't want a situation where the Vegas Golden Knights would be playing in Vegas in their home market and home arena whatever perceived a real advantage of my. Come with not familiar. Era You being around but the temptation of leaving the bubble leaving the hotel and going home. You just got family at home it would proceed. Ub Not just perceived to be unsafe to be leaving the bubble and potentially picking up nineteen while you're out there but also unfair because every other team in. Your conference has to be confined to their hotel. So I just WanNa say I you. We should look out for when they announced. These hubs Cities The capitals in Eastern Conference might get put in Las Vegas Los Angeles one of the Western markets rather than something close by because nine of these hub cities that are under consideration. Nine of the ten have playoff teams. They host playoff team. So there's it's going to be hard for you to avoid. I mean it's not gonna be the only way to avoid having a situation where the Golden Knights are playing. Vegas is to just move the western conference to an eastern a more of a more eastern city. Yeah and the West but then the Stanley Cup finals are going to be sort of earmarked for a city I would die would bed and so they may not be able to avoid that if they were to make to the Stanley Cup finals. And who knows maybe caps can win their Second Cup in Vegas and a few months In three years you know in talking about these subsidies and we're talking to Adams Lanka from the Washington Times I was actually a little bit surprised to see the list of the cities that they are considering Gary Bettman the commissioner the NHL said two cities to hub cities. Were this'll happen There were Canadian cities Toronto and Vancouver and Edmonton listed but also in the story. That I I read. That was put out after the Batman announcement apparently because the Canadian government right now still has a mandatory mandatory fourteen day quarantine that the NHL probably would lean towards to US cities but the cities being considered Chicago. Columbus Dallas Vegas La Minneapolis and Pittsburgh You Know L. in Vegas are the only true warm weather Cities Dallas isn't all of these cities are warm weather right now. Anyway guess but I for whatever reason I kept thinking well it's going to be Arizona Florida or Vegas we have a lot of. Nhl They're all NHL cities every single one of them being considered or NHL. Cities is a good point on the other hand. Like like you said it's warm weather I read. It was ninety degrees in buffalo this week. And that's that's warmer than is down here in Washington I thought you were about to bring up that The locations and how they how they are. Cova cases are because I. I feel like they've picked cities that are generally okay either now or they're getting to be okay and they're going there. They didn't whittle it down all that far because they know so much can change in a month. There might be a new outbreak. We we have no idea there be new outbreak in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh's off the list. As of right now I think Pittsburgh was ever particularly hard hit by the pandemic so they can be under consideration shown as far as the weather though. I mean whether maybe more important for baseball than anything else because hockey and basketball are played indoors. Would it be nicer to being Vegas where Los Angeles than it would be to be in Minneapolis Regardless of time of year no offense Minnesota but just.

"Because quarterbacks he played the position he has a great belief in the way he wants things done and it's like nothing will ever satisfy him except for his boy. Colt but I think he realizes colts limitations too but anyway I talked about how in the two thousand eighteen season before the Alex Smith injury. I knew this in a lot of other people knew this I. I'm pretty sure I have talked about this before. But Jay was very frustrated with Alex Smith Now it's the early part of their relationship you know. They've only played eight games together. You know there's the possibility that it's going to be better. But I I think Jay really didn't adapt to with Alex Smith did well necessarily. I mean we saw some Rpo but we didn't see enough quick game. We didn't see enough west coast. We didn't see enough getting on the move and I talked about that during the season. The game that sticks out to me is the Colt Game. Week to when the colts are playing soft zone. Start to finish and the Redskins can't pitch and catch like they would have the previous years you know not they were great at when teams were in soft zone. Kirk just getting it out quickly to somebody you know a six-yard hitch in boom. You know eight yards. The next one was four yards moved the chains they jay never adapted his offense style. Smith I put that on Jay but he was very frustrated. You know in practices and in Games. Because he didn't feel like Alex Smith was really getting it. I also think that he didn't adapt to Alex Smith strengths. But yeah that was going on and when Colt McCoy came in and GP. And I were talking about this time. He yesterday he certainly. No one was happy to see Alex. Smith get hurt away got hurt. That's not of course. Nobody was rooting for that. But I remember saying at the time Jay Gruden if you injected truth serum into Jagran. Right now he would tell you with Colt McCoy. The offense is on the verge of stuff and I think he really was confident. In and Colt had a short work. Week to prepare for the cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. Which happened to have been the date at Alex? Smith really started to get sick in the hospital And then if you recall Jay was really really bullish about the amount of time that that Colt had to prepare for the eagles Monday night game. Yes yes absolutely. You know all this does is just one more illustrations.

"Fix Tuesday Tommy's in not in but by phone errands at home. He'll edit this thing when it's done. I have my mock schedule. My redskins mock schedule an annual dumb tradition that I've been doing I don't know how many years in a row Tommy. I think it's twelve or thirteen years. I've been doing this On radio and podcast last year only and now both this year We're going to get to the latest tweet from D. H. Simba Seven Oh boy Don Shula I wanNA talk to you about Shula in his standing and I know you have some thoughts on Alex Smith. The last stance And a few other things. But I'M GONNA real quickly I'm GonNa Start with some Alex Smith stuff because I got to tweets that I wanted to share with you This tweet came from Yancey yesterday. Yancey said I'm beginning to think that Alex Smith can return from this injury. What perseverance what fortitude. What a story. I think he's going to play again at some point that was from. Yancey and let me just read the second. One real quickly from Kevin He writes she. Why don't you want Alex Smith to play? And then he goes on to accuse me of not being in Alex Smith Fan. Which by the way. I've said this before is just utterly untrue. You know some of you are really really you have the NFL? You just don't have the ability to sort of see things as potentially mutually exclusive of one another. Just because. I didn't think that Alex Smith had a good twenty eighteen and didn't think he was playing very well and didn't think the offense was very good doesn't mean that. I dislike Alex Smith. I wanted the trade. I was in favor of the trade not the extension but the trade. I was a fan of Alex Smith when he was a Kansas City. Tommy you or may not re- remember this and the only reason I remembered quite honestly because Dan Steinberg reminded me of this. He tweeted out something. When when the redskins traded for Alex Smith Steinberg I? I'm pretty sure re tweeted a tweet of mine from like three years previous to that where I said I believe that Kirk cousins can become an Alex Smith or Andy Dalton type of starter. Which by the way was a compliment So I always liked Alex Smith. Now why don't I want Alex Smith the play because after watching that program the other night in particular? I don't want him to put himself at risk of playing. He's got a beautiful family He has all the money he'll ever need. I don't WanNa see them. Take the risk and play professional football. I'd love to see him get himself into position to play professional football but by the way to Yancey who said he's beginning to think that Alex Smith can play. There's nothing that convinced me. More that Alex Smith will never be able to play again then. That documentary the documentary. The other night tummy that the grotesque pictures in particular of the flesh eating bacteria in the process of carving away essentially most of his leg between his knee and ankle. I don't know how anybody could look at that picture and think that he's ever going to play football again. I'm just so happy. He's able to walk around on two legs and play with his kids. Anyway that's how I want to get out the show. What do you say well look? I mean they're going. They're going to start showing pictures. Ovallis from its leg on the concourse at Fedex field..

"Was a Hornet's nest. You're breathing about the break. The record in the Dome Football. But that that Falcons game at home I remember that one because I I think it was like twenty one fourteen and then I think it was twenty one ten twenty one seven and then I if I remember rightly skins scored before FM. It's all right. Take a breath. Catch you know come out at halftime. And then they got beat deep Calvin Ridley to go like twenty eight fourteen at halftime and it was just a wrap so I I don't remember on the. I don't know that they were a house of cards. Because we're other bad teeth. If you look at the back out of that schedule you know. They beat the Jaguars. They almost beat the titans. Josh Johnson. I think they get to at least nine wins. They were at six point. Nine nine nine. I'm not I'm not. I'm not going to debate you on. Whether or not they would have gotten to nine in succeed in the playoffs. I just didn't think they were good team now. I did think this was the team. That actually was well coached for that. Six two six and three start. They didn't commit mistakes. They didn't they won the turnover battle. They were winning field position battle. They were stopping the run and running the football which was huge. It was one of the things I remember saying very clearly about Alex Smith when he got here. You've got to be able to run the football or it'll be a disaster. It won't work with him. And that's what he always was. One of those quarterbacks in this is not a criticism. It's just that most quarterbacks that are good need a lot around them the he he wasn't at that elite level. No one would've ever put him there but anyway the the point that I was going to make was that you know that Houston game was GonNa make him six and four. It was one of his worst games. that he was in the process of and yet yeah. S. Hundred Yard Return. I think Dow hit a couple of turnovers in that game. The Dallas Thanksgiving Day game short week then Philly on a Monday night. It was very possible that they were heading to six and six but again nine and seven. Whatever the point that I was going to make. Is this what a lot of people didn't know about that time? And you know this I'm pretty sure. Is You know the person that was most frustrated with Alex and the offense was the head coach. There was very And I've talked about this before. It was not a great fit. Bruce made that trade. It was not the best fit for GRUDEN. Necessarily IN GRUDEN was pulling his hair out at times. You know now. Look grooten was a perfectionist. I don't think the that Dan Marino would please Jay gruden because any and it's just the way he was you know he was that way with Kirk towards the end but early in that season there was major frustration disconnect between he and Alex not that he didn't like Alex and didn't understand and respect the leadership part of them but it wasn't the best fit now doesn't mean that it wasn't on the verge of becoming a better fit they only you know they had only been together for one off season and nine games takes a while at that position but it was a frustrating passing offense for sure it was not. Oh it Smith's best year by a long shot well and there were a couple of factors right. I mean for. How long did JAY WANNA go with? Colt? I think he wanted to go with cold. They knew Kirk was finally.

"It was it. Was it bursts? No no no no. It was Whatever I don't remember alternate the reason for that. Is You know. I think we all heard things about how serious it was. Tommy I think was the first report that there were seventeen to eighteen surgeries Involved and I don't think we had heard that before and that was like the middle of last season maybe early in the season. I forget when it was story. Oh Angie Goff who only golf machine who she with. I forgot box. Yes by new podcast. Sorry you know what? It's great that you're able to pull it. That means that you're everything's clear in your head it I See that's not good. I've had neurology neurologist. Tell me that look. Here's the bottom line. You know you get to a certain age and you start to forget things but if you really work hard at it and you can pull it like going through the alphabet to remember her name and you're able to pull it. There's nothing wrong with you. It's just basically lack asleep. Anyway I DIGRESS. But the by the way my comment about no redskins really being a part of it it was just an observation. I'm not being critical because I know and I've been told how Great Snyder has been. You know to the smiths into Alex Smith and by the way that's where he's always been great. You know when people are in need in have life circumstances family circumstances in every player that's ever played for him has always said that he's always incredibly helpful in those spots. "This one. The hindsight on Alex Smith Extension and the trade is damn near impossible. Because who knows what would have happened like I mean. That team was two games. Clear the division and they had a bunch of backloaded games and maybe they finish at eight and eight. Who knows but they got to. I mean they got the seven and nine with Joshua Johnson. Playing three games like who knows how to read the compensation extension. All of it could have looked so different and I mean if you WanNa be you know you can just judge the situation for what happened with massive injury and will end up being like forty four forty. Three million dollars spent over two years with with the player. That's not gonNA play but I don't know there's a whole thing. It's hard to even like go back and talk about what he was providing to the skin early on in twenty eighteen. They were winning games with the offense was was kind of a slog remember like knew a lot of controlling the clock and field position. I mean you pull up the stat lines not not a lot jumps off the page you know but at the same time I remember talking to guys in that locker room like the leadership in intangible stuff that if you're a sheep seems like it's it's so it's so important in the NFL. And if you're a cynic seems like it's Kinda non existent and players make plays the reality. Is that somewhere in the middle there? And I remember talking to Chris. Thomson at.

Finding Value from LinkedIn Connections Off of LinkedIn - Alex Smith

"Today. Got Another tip from Alex Smith. Here he is. Hey Gang as of this recording some of you may know I've been in a sales job search lately from a layoff in despite a lot of interviews I've had I'm seeing a lot of companies in holding patterns recently and they're really slow to get back so I've really been doubling down on Lincoln lately. The one thing that I found that's really working formula. Lincoln was something that really came as a surprise in his might tip for today more people than you realize are willing to have a conversation with you outside of Lincoln than inside of it with a good strategy. You can create some really valuable relationships. I have to admit I was a little hesitant to ask people for their time. Outside on linked in without much of anything I can give them return if you think about it. I'm reaching out to quota carrying top beat. Abi Sales people to network and they're willing to spend a few minutes and hop on a phone call or zoom call with me this despite the fact that they have a number two hit themselves and way less prospects are entering their phones and emails right now but when you think about it. Great sales people don't expect a give to get. They live life to learn and just listening to you is all the Roi. They need for their time. So I don't take it lightly that anyone would want to give me their time and the agendas of our calls is really just genuinely getting to know each other. I used to think Lincoln was purely numbers in engagement game. And maybe in some way it is but at its core. It's still a platform comprised of people people who all have something to offer and we can all learn from a Lincoln connection is so much more than just another number and when you grow your connections. Don't ever lose sight of building connection. Growing connections isn't the same as creating connection growing your connections can be done in a split second but creating connection requires intention and giving on both sides of a relationship so I thought to myself. Why can't we all just use this time to create connection not just adding connections? We all have an opportunity to move beyond the one time connection right now. I've had so many great phone calls with completely new people recently. I've had a minimum of at least five new calls scheduled each week with new connections and none of the call started off trying to sell anything or have any other agenda from either party tied to it other than genuinely knowing people beyond their profiles. So how can we make connections more valuable to others and ourselves? Why I thought offer a few quick strategies than I'm using would love to hear your take. So here's a few things that are working for me. First thing I'm going to steal is from someone that reach out to me and I loved her approach. So shout out to Sara Marie Clark Brand Consultant for Jack Neater Consulting. So my first tip is be genuine with your ten. Sarah was really genuine with me when she responded to my connection request an interest on she said. Hey Alex thank you so much for your kind words and thank you for connecting. I love to make this connection genuinely valuable to you and not just another number. What is the best way? I can support your growth. Are you open to a call? This week to collaborate and explore our connection. I didn't know Sarah from anything. I'm not in brand consulting and didn't specifically want something from her and she didn't want anything from me but her starting off relationship saying she didn't want to just be another number asking how she could help me and asking if I was open to. A call really presented her as genuine. We had a really great call and I've used a similar approach to reach out and meet new. People linked in second tip build people up through community. I've reached out to people from communities. I've been on lately Y- whether it was hopping on a linked in live Webinar training. Sometimes if you zoom causing communities. I'm in and many of the top sales people in Lincoln. Organizing resume calls right now. I definitely suggest getting on them. But what I do is reference. The call compliment them on what they said. And what it meant to me. It really feels good to people to let them know how they impacted you so when you ask for their time they they don't think you have a hidden agenda. They want to go deeper on the topic with you number. Three the Lincoln activity tab is gold. I used to reach out and mentioned someone's profile when reaching out but finding what people have commented on from their activity shows the other person. You really see them. You plan the same lanes. You're one of the same tribe. You're more of an insider asking for time in someone outside of the club banging to get in reference that in your outreach. Hey really loved what you wrote on so-and-so's post it made me think of x the have a few minutes to talk with. Love the run some suggestions questions by you giving your knowledge on this value any advice you may have in this area. And lastly be specific and ask for their time. You have to give them a reason for having a call could be making yourself a better candidate to an employer. You value their perspective on an industry where you want to get their thoughts on a sale situation. You're dealing with include that in your outreach. I also like to say even just a few minutes helps. I know your time's valuable. So that's some quick things that I'm using finally. Don't even think you need to have a specific ask. It could just be you feel a genuine connection with some content and you WanNa meet them so tell them why. I urge you all to pick a few people who genuinely respect on linked in but haven't met outside of it and try to meet them. You just might be surprised who accepts the invited. The massive value that can come

Selling Internally: Prepare for Impact - Alex Smith

"Have you ever had a great idea at your workplace but it was never implemented? I've had ideas. That had amazing excitement and launch and others that are currently sitting in an idea. Graveyard somewhere in likely will never be brought back to life and everything in between so my tip today will help you with actionable ways to prepare you to present your next idea work so that it has the best chance to make the biggest impact. I'm someone that always loves challenging myself to come up with new ways of doing things. I really look at sales as an art form. And it's up to us to be creative on how we want to approach it. If I ever lose a sale I always want to ask what I could have done differently so I started doing the same with ideas. One consistent theme that I began to notice was that all of my improvements really centered around how they were presented and my process ideas are no different than the products and services. You might be selling so why not adopt similar sales processes the next time you need to present them. Many of us know the importance of getting our sales process right. We put intricate detail into them. They are the lenses that make our forecasts crystal clear any smudge on the Lens and we clean it up immediately. We've all learned some amazing processes. Whether it's been from David Weiss and MED picker trae Simonson and Joint Action Plan. Whatever process you liked US urge you to treat your ideas with the same level of care that you would to one of your sales plans. Your ideas reflect your creativity and you want to give them the best chance to succeed so list out your ideas and go through deliberate sales process with each. I guarantee you could translate whatever current sales process or process. You subscribe to in order to sell your ideas. Just think about it. Each idea will solve a problem for your organization and delivers a specific impact. List out each idea. The problem it solves and next to the impact your organization if you solve it a pick chart for ideas if you will make the idea personal your boss. Might WanNa make quota but your CEO needs to increase market share. You need to know how your idea and show how your idea generates revenue in quantify it and you need to create urgency. How will this get your boss and upper management's attention to act create a chart enlist this all out? One of my favorite sales quotes also applies to ideas. If the problem is the reason to change the impact is the urgency to change. I like to say things like if we continue to do things this way. This is what we might be risking or not capturing by failing to try this when you create impact. Make it massive. If it is a massive likely won't gain enough attention or to really catch on you want momentum and excitement you're looking for. I love that idea. Let's do it not. Oh yeah that's a good idea. And then crickets. Can you gain support for the idea across the organization if so with WHO? What's your budgeting process? Look like budget timelines. Does it require a financial investment? If so what's the ROI even better? Can we start with no revenue investment if the investment is not revenue but just productivity time clearly spelled out all things you can put in a chart? You're going for. How can you make it really easy? For Management to say yes remove friction and make them think that they lead little to no extra work on their end and this will just be extra money. That's coming in mark. Cuban one set a great quote when he said the greatest value you offer to. Your boss is to reduce their stress so clearly show them. How your idea does that for them? I'm always eager to get ideas out there but to make them really catch on. We need to put a deliberate process behind them. There's so many examples of people doing that in this community who came up with a new idea. Internally to increase visibility with senior execs get promoted increase influence at companies and learn along the way a quote that really guides me on the importance of selling ideas and building. Excitement was said by the iconic businesswoman and founder of Mary. Kay Cosmetics Mary. Kay Ash when she said a mediocre idea that generates enthusiasm will always go further than a great idea that inspires no one so I urge you to go forth and create a killer process with your next idea at work in generate incredible excitement at your organization. I'd love to hear from you on what ideas you've pitched that worked well and maybe also we can swap stories of one's that didn't talk about why. I'm always gained a chat.

"From your purpose in life negativity aggie typically bad energy hate envy etcetera etcetera will try to bring you down throughout your journey and it's up to you on how you handle it. I handle it by simply saying thank you with a smile on my face and continue. Continue to push forward while doing it live laugh love. It was so disingenuous. Because he's smart. He knows what the criticism was. The criticism was not about him giving his shoes to a little girl or boy or it wasn't about him. I'm cheering on his teammates. The criticism specifically from many including me was that he came out onto the floor with the action going on on the the end of the floor near him with socks on waving towel. You know there's a shot somebody put out a shot. I didn't. I didn't see this until after the show and Friday. Where you see? See The guy who had his shot blocked by coups twice before he gets a block for second he looks briefly. To make pass. And Lebron's in his periphery and so that's one of the reasons. He went back up with the shot because he thought that Lebron was a player on would have picked off the pass but had a wide open shooter out on the wing and he didn't didn't pass it to him so a lot of people really went after Lebron for that response including Craig Bowler Jack. I think that's his name. Aaron WHO's the Utah Jazz Guy Guy that he was criticizing he said you know no offence. You're you're the greatest you the king but we know one was criticizing you for cheering on your teammates. They we're criticising you because you're out on the floors a sixth man but I just thought it was very ironic that Chris Paul gets a technical foul called for somebody. WHO's on the floor legally? But he's got a shirt untucked and Lebron James this out there is the sixth guy and tell with his socks on the rest. Don't consider now finding him or giving giving not so anyway. The Chris Paul thing I just thought was interesting. You Know Chris Paul is not A. He's not a well liked player but he's really smart smart and he's going to be a I think he's like Rondo. It's the same way I feel about Rondo. I think he's going to be a very good coach. A really good coach Rondos. Rondo is going to be a phenomenal coach. He's actually had almost. Yeah think I'd along with people to be a good coach. I know but now Rondo is getting along with people and then later in his career you you know. All the young people on the Lakers. Last year loved Rondo. They couldn't stand Lebrun. You know the team they had last year anyway. You said you had one more thing before I just wanted to mention that had You know because I forget to do sometimes because I'm not you know that much of a self promoter You know I mean So I wanted to mention you can hear me on one zero six seven Fan Third Wednesday afternoons Chad Dukes and Saturday mornings from nine to twelve with Nick Ashu.

"There's no way if I'm the redskins and I have a chance to draft Joe Borough Number one overall That I would pass jober. They're not going GONNA have that chance but they're not gonNA have a chance with the guy I wouldn't pass on one last Aaron Rodgers about the Redskins I was so right about Matt Itis. Yes you're I mean so right. He's a good. He's a damn good player. He is so could he. He should go to the pro bowl all this year. He's not going to but he he is. He's got that kind of potential Soto Allen. And sodas pain. Yeah but I is their best defensive Lineman it's You know what on some days. I think you're right on other days. I think it's pain in terms of the talent another days. I think it's Alan would I and night. His does better than anybody is. He collapses the pocket man he is a true interior pocket. rusher while Gruden said he was the strongest this guy in the team I know. Yeah I I'm. He's having a great year a great year. All right anything else redskins related because I want to get to the Strasbourg thing. The Eagles won last tonight. Just real quickly on that game they stink. Yeah they do. I mean with that said last year they were six and seven also and then they pretty much got to nine and seven and they won a playoff game and had new orleans dead to right. You know if not for the drop pass by. I think it was L.. Sean Jeffrey was Jeffrey Wrangler. One of those to drop to pass against the Saints in the playoff game when they were going to take the lead You know things change in the NFL week to week league. It could eagles get hot. Do they have wentz capable of getting hot that he is but God they. They looked horrible in that. FIRST HALF I stayed up and watch that whole game and can can I make one other comment and I can and I will because it's my podcast I this is really strange. Tell me tell me what you think about about this particular feeling that I had watching the eagles last night I understood the draft significance. The redskins could still lose to the giants and finish you know in front of draft position wise the giants if they lose to the giants in two weeks. I don't want the NFC to look so bad NFC east. Except that I want I want I want one of the cowboys or the Eagles to end up with a nine seven the NFC has a proud tradition. And you don't want to be embarrassed. Our spy it by you know your conference that year in. I'm deficient that you're in. I mean it it used to be. It was the gold standard in the league. At the end of that game. I was thinking I hope that Dallas and Philadelphia play in two weeks and they both have seven seven records so that the winner gets to eight and seven in has a chance to get to nine and seven and I'm sitting there going. Why do I feel that way? I am curious if anybody else out there is a redskin fan longtime redskin fan if you you had this a similar feeling just tweet me. 'cause I'm curious as to whether anybody else felt that way because I thought it was such a random way to feel and I didn't think anybody else would identify with with that but I don't want the NFC east to be six. In ten or seven and nine is a division winner that goes to teams like the Carolina Panthers and like the NFC West when it was terrible there for a few yard of the greatness of the redskins in the eighties was the fact that the cowboys the giants and the Eagles Eagles seventies eighties as yet. Yeah I mean that was part of what made it so great. It was like every time there was a division game. It was like a heavyweight title fight. You know it's strange. And you know I felt this way about Maryland in the ACC that it it was part of my fan identity the ACC and part of my fan identity is the NFC east and the NFC east being perceived as a marquee brand of a division. Like you think. We've had this conversation before I believe but when you think about divisions or conferences that are true brands. ACC BASKETBALL ALL RIGHT SEC. We see football NFC east. Yeah the the American League East. These are like real bland's that are associated seeded with conferences and divisions and one of the reasons for that. Is You know they've had heavyweight teams over the years you know and now you I the last thing thing I wanted to see his is the NFC East be the first division to produce a six and ten winner. Now you've been reduced to club fighters that's from heavyweight fighters to club fighter but it changes year to year the NFL. Now it's it changes so quickly. How come if it changes quickly? The nothing happened. No change happens with the reds. They're part of that group that never it's like the Patriots are at the top that rarely change and then there are a couple of teams at the bottom angrily change engine. I know people are GonNa say you're so critical because they were seven and nine. Not like they've been three and thirteen ninety three thirteen or fourteen twelve this year and they were three thirteen in two thousand thirteen and they were foreign twelve in two thousand fourteen and then we got kirk cousins. Okay well I bet you went back everybody. You know what I somebody really called me out so well L. This morning on twitter hold on I'm GonNa find it real quick because it made me laugh so hard hold on let me find it So Oh this morning I was talking about and I felt this way all year of set it on the podcast to that. I really didn't think that Minnesota was going to be a playoff team this year. I didn't pick them to make the playoffs. I thought there was something wrong. There didn't seem right. It didn't seem right for Kirk and then as I've watched them throughout the year he's actually played very well but I think their defense is fraudulent. I've watched the Vikings enough to know that they're very inconsistent especially in their secondary. You know the number one penalized team team On Pass plays defensively in the in the NFL. And I just have this sense that that they're not a legitimate threat and I've and I've said that none I in in Greg. You know this morning said we're talking about our final four teams like two in the AFC to in the NFC. What about Minnesota like? I don't believe in them. Am I really don't so the incomparable. Cj Yeah we know on on twitter. We knew Kevin Sheehan was a contrarian. Better didn't know he was a hedging expert for too because when Kirk wins it's a fifteen minutes of see told you he was great Hashtag stats which really made me laugh. And when he loses against winning teams are in big games. I said I didn't like the Vikings. You're a laughing EMOJI and I responded. Now you got me I am. I am not hedging as much as I because I really don't think in fact I have this weird feeling they're gonNA they're I'm GONNA throw up all over themselves down the stretch and the rams are GonNa make the playoffs and they're not but just to be clear. I am rooting for Kirk cousins to play well and for his team to make the playoffs every year. When the REDSKINS are out of it I look for something to root for? It's been so many years the chargers and it's people have referred to my AFC girlfriend. Philip Rivers I. The chargers are out of it. They play the Vikings this week. So I've got Kirk Against Philip rivers. I'm I'm rooting for the Vikings to win. Because they've got a chance to make the postseason. The chargers is having but I'm such a huge. NFL Fan. And I've this season's a great season and there's a lot left to it. It's going to be great and I usually find a team that I believe in or there's a player or a coach that I liked that I'm rooting for so. Yeah and I've done this in the past. Do you know that when the Cleveland Browns had Mark Moseley early as their kicker remember when he left the Redskins and Moseley was there kicker in that playoff game double overtime game against the jets in eighty six any missed like three field goals but he finally made one in the second overtime to win. I was a massive browns fan. 'cause I was rooting for Moseley. who was the quarterback Bernie Kosar Bernie? Yeah yeah that was the eighty-six that was before the drive. That was the game before they lost to number at home. Now that Ross Marty to coach or Sam Mardi Mardi was yeah. He was the coach. Okay yeah that was. The the codes are Brown's that loss back-to-back AFC championship Games Denver. Okay you know in eighty six. They lost in the drive in ninety ninety seven. They lost in the phone. Bill and Moseley was the kicker in eighty six the skins had released him the year before or early in that. Maybe that that particular year would that would have been the first year. No that was not the first year of low Miller. No that's when they went through all of the The what you call brothers. There's the Zadeh Day hospice. They went through day. Haas's over the course of of a few years but you know I have always at the end of the year when my team's been out you know the Redskins were in it in eighty six okay. They were involved but when ripping quarterback a couple of teams late in the season including looting the Indianapolis Colts one year. I was so rooting for Rippin to do well when monk was in New York. And when Gary Clark was in Arizona Dexter and Arizona. I was always rooting for those players. So many have been like your infatuation with Kirk. Now that he's not a redskin is ridiculous. Well no I've actually been that way a lot over the years ears with players who were redskins that I really liked you know monk Clark Manley Rippin all come to mind as guys that you know when they went to other places as I was really rooting for them to do well and I am with Kirk to this is this is a bit disingenuous. What is that this this notice? Not Yes it is. I'll tell you why. Okay Minnesota versus the Redskins Kirk versus the Redskins who you rooting for the redskins out of it right now Minnesota. Okay well then then then I mean yeah no well but I'm rooting for the different. I've been rooting for the Redskins to lose here this year. Anyway I want. I want a complete now next year. If they've got a new front in office and Eric B enemies the coach and we got a new start and Dan's apologize to all the fans for the last twenty years and he's owned the last twenty years there's any provides GM with contractual autonomy and he promises to stay out of it. I'll probably get suckered into buying into rooting. Really hard. And saying all right..

"Yeah I I don't I don't have any influence on the stadium. You still think about it. Just as quick digression do you still think they do not get any jurisdiction to give them funding for new stadium. Now what about the location of Snyder pays for it himself. I think it stays where it is. I think if if he builds a new stadium. It's right next to the old one I mean they're not I don't I think I think the chances of going. RFK were slim. But Without Jack Evans on the city Eddie Council or on his way out on the city council seemingly he was their biggest supporter. He was the guy who was working with Bruce Allen. All these years in plans to try to get a stadium in DC without Jack Evans. I don't care what the mayor wants. It's not happening in the district like I spoke to somebody who's pretty high up in district government yesterday And they said basically there's a house in crisis right now in the city people are not not crazy about the idea of enabling a millionaire football owner that everyone likes but everyone dislikes that polling came amount a few weeks ago. Remember actually had a question about the stadium I know and the residents of the District of Columbia. Actually were in favor of the stadium going at the of case. I just not in favor of financing but politically politically right now. Housing is a very hot topic housing and rightfully so because in the housing and the distant right. Now Guy Rocketing yeah skyrocketing junior. Did you see what he tweeted. I heard you talking about on the show. Yes so junior. galette tweeted last night according to his sources there's going to be a front office total cleaning. They'RE GONNA clean out everybody so he's in the reporting according businesses. Well that was funny. His reactions are funny. It's like like a player playing with a new toy. This source is fun. Isn't it here. It is Tommy got a junior junior galette tweets okay This one from I guess late yesterday afternoon. Sources tell me. The redskins are cleaning house starting with the Front Office. And then when you were you're talking about some of the follow up tweets With me I know I have to be more reliable than these reporters. Ll So I'm waiting to see if the clean house means that the ban is lifted for me to see some sort of banned from the redskins. I guess he feels like Bruce L.. Essentially abandoned from the team and then he says Hold on where is it. Oh this is what he tweeted a little bit later on using sources is so fun l.. Hello L. I get it now. Sources is usually spot on. I was so upset when I played for New Orleans and would read tweet saying sources. Say They're looking to trade junior galette a two weeks Looking to trade junior Glenn and then two weeks later rights boom. I got released. Ll so he has a new found respect for source for sources. Yes he gets. How how it goes? Nobody else picked him up. Let's stick with the Redskins Since we've already gone down that path here because I wanted to mention a couple couple of other things real quickly. Ian Rapoport did have the story this morning. The guys did not have a tornado. Is Good news is good news but still he's got a sprained. MC L. and they might keep them out the the rest of the season. I think Ian suggested that he did. I mean I love guy so far and I didn't think I was going to I. I mean the game against Carolina and even the run that he got hurt on was another typical dairy skies run. Like he's good but you can't count on a moving forward this this is gonNA be three injuries year and a half. I know so. I'm glad it's not the ACL. Because then he would have been essentially lost for the first half of next year. Maybe or certainly a part of next year So I'm glad that that that's okay. And then I did WANNA get your thoughts on the game on Sunday covered. Which I had him? I had him cover heartbreaking against Green Bay. They're covering machine. I don't know if you've noticed that they're five and two in their last seven with all coach cal. But what did you make of the hysteria. The the fan and media reaction to them leaving a one legged quarterback in the game. What did you make of that? Well let me just say this US you know before. We Pin pin a red badge of courage on Dwayne House. Come on he was tough to get through that playing Tommy Lavera Aveiro here. Once played two hours of tackle football at J. M. Hill School in East Strauss Berg on a broken thank a broken ankle and then went dancing that night at Silver Lake pavilion on a broken ankle. You're complaining hobbling around me. Yeah no I was a dramatic. No I wasn't now when I woke up the next morning I had a basketball on the end of my leg. I mean that's how that's how swollen my ankle was because I didn't know it was broken at the time so I just wanted to say that that this isn't the first guy on a football field to do this. It's been done before by yours. Truly uh-huh well. I'm glad we got. We got that cleared up. A lot of a lot of people remembered that particular game. Glad everybody's attention. Rich Hillman tackled me and broke my and yeah I mean Richard. Pretty good player. He was actually he was he was darn high school football player but look I had no problem with complain. I mean He. He sprained an ankle. You know I mean you know they taped it out.

"How in God's name did they go oh for that fourth and one or why did he punted on fourth and one this this game is for the number two seed in the NFC play you gotta go for it? You know things like that but we never ever have a chance to have those kinds of because they're not an NFL franchise play in the NFL but they're not an NFL franchise life but they're about to become one. Aren't they buddy or are they about to become aren't they about become one isn't change on the horizon. Yes so all right. So let's go there because we got to get to Strasbourg prosper gear and there are other things too but couple of things So I do believe that. There's a chance something will happen this week. Talking about it for a few weeks now on this was You know and I felt for a while. That Bruce Allen's not coming back I think the sound era is GonNa end I do I. I don't know that I'm not reporting it But it's a pretty informed formed hunch that they're going to move in another direction. They're going to be changes. I think I felt the same way last year. Based on a lot of the same sort of informed hunches understand that that this time last year I was pretty bought in sold when they got eliminated. I thought there was no chance Bruce Allin was coming back. I didn't think GRUDEN was coming back. I thought there would be major. Change in there wasn't so when you have sort of an owner who is impulsive and you know He could change his mind. My bet is he's not going to they're going to be changes but then I saw something this morning talked about this on the radio show. Maybe you know who these people are. Do you know who pro football Prof pro football network is the pro football now. I don't nor I'd never heard of them either but they put out a tweet that somebody sent to me overnight and I saw it early this morning. They wrote that according to Albright. NFL that's Benjamin Albright. He is Scott. It's got eighty six thousand followers. He's a Colorado Denver guy and an NFL reporter. He may host a show in Denver. That may be how we know that that name. And maybe he's had a story before but he reported that chiefs coordinator Eric Be enemies somebody to watch his early front runner for the Redskins head coaching job. When I read that it eight immediately triggered the following response? Because I've talked about this on the podcast going back. You know three weeks almost a month now. Dan Snyder's new golden. Boy Is Alex Smith Right. He really likes Alex Smith A lot. They get along and sits next film during Games. And you know I. I talked about this about a month ago that you know if Alex doesn't come back as a player don't be shocked if he comes back in another capacity. Well Eric B enemy and Alex Smith know each other very well. Eric Enemies Bench in Kansas City. On Andy Reid Staff for since twenty twelve or twenty thirteen. It's been five six seven years something like that. So he was there for Alex Smith and if the enemy is being considered. There's no doubt in my mind that there's Alex Smith influence in us because Dan Snyder wouldn't know Eric Danny from anybody else So Alex Smith you know that's one potential path here. That wouldn't shock me. Is Alex Smith having a significant job in the organization. I Eric B enemy being sought after to be the head coach and that's the direction they go in. That wouldn't surprise me either. There are other paths that I think are out there now. What about the todd? Bowles JOE GIBBS CBS path. And don't forget when Jagran was fired. You know offshore books. Were putting up blinds and Eric. B enemy was the favorite day. Jay Gruden was fired. True remember we weren't sure sure. What the reason why? The reason was that he was going to be the number. One on anyone's you're right Erin. That's exactly right and be enemy is going to be sought after. Yeah I any eighteen with an opening. Yes but what about the todd Bowles Joe Gibbs connect. Well that's always a connection that I thought was a good one I'm not hearing. I haven't heard anything about that recently. Also keep in mind Tampa's defense this year's not been very allies with bowls but that wouldn't deter me at all The this would so four owner that let's just say he rids himself of perhaps his his biggest. You know weight right now. Which would be Bruce Allin in terms of his ability to go out and create something new? That's legitimate without just taking people that are unemployed employed you know. That's basically what they do with their coaching staff flashers. They had to take people who were out of coaching or didn't have any other opportunities now. Part of that was because Jay Gruden was perceived is lame duck. I understand that but you know Alex Smith may be his opportunity to be perceived as legitimate intimate. Would Alex Smith do you think co first of all would he and then the second part is could he would he tell Dan Snyder or no not about the job but just no I mean because part of the problem. Let's face it. Dan Snyder does not employ people who will say not him. That's right not you're right about that Sell what would Alex Smith. I would say they'll feel phil confident enough and powerful enough to to to say you know you're wrong Dan. You can't do this. I have no idea but I would lean no. I would lean no because because from what I've heard. Alex Smith Really Likes Twain. Haskins which by the way the owner really likes Twain Atkins and not to say that. That's the only reason he saying he likes. Join Haskins to buddy up with the owner. Potentially get a big time job maybe maybe the GM job you know it would be out of the box higher. But we've seen more of those in recent years witness. What happened in San Francisco Online? John Lynch if they were going to hire out of the box sorry thom he don't comment on this. I would hire Chris schooling because he's been right about every single college player that he is analyzed including the guy that he said he would taken a quarterback which is drew lock. I don't know if he's right about drew. We're lucky at one good game. I'm I'm exaggerating. But it looks like he can play maybe How would we feel about Alex? Smith how people were very excited very excite Whi while because Alex Smith is perceived as a unblemished untouched inexperienced to yes S.. Put but unspoiled. You know like he's. He is a bright light and Dan. Snyder is is the darkness and and I think people would love to bask in the bright light of Alex Smith. The human being as much as anything you know because it's been a long time time since you've had a human being charged at Redskins Park. Let's face it you know. It's interesting Vinnie Serrato. You know this I think to a certain degree he was obviously not legitimately qualified to be an NFL general manager. I shouldn't say wasn't qualified. He wasn't a good but he he actually was a good guy. Well Kevin you can't be a good guy and carry out and be henchman okay. You can't vote now. You can be a a good guy. You can be a guy that you can't respect. Yeah that's like saying like a mall Pitman. Well he was a good guy. Well you know he was a good guy. I follow me all around on this podcast and I think your family well and all that was not a good guy. He wasn't evil like Brunell Nelson. That's the thing that's my point. Is that Vinnie. Actually you know was I think he was a decent human being okay but he can't he can't be a decent human being and work for dance. You can't do well anyway. This enemy Alex Smith thing the enemy news. I don't know if it's credible or not. Not Let me just start there. I don't know enough about Addow Albright. NFL or pro football network. You know this wasn't pro football talk you know. This wasn't pro football focus on they don't do reporting but I I don't know how credible it is. Credible it is. I do have a sense that Alex Smith is one of the new favorite people. Colin Dan Snyder's life and that he really respects him and he gets along with them and that he really That he that he believes believes in in what he believes in like he he. He Views Alex. Smith is a really good smart resource. Okay Paul Resource may ask you something hold on. I just want to say one thing I don. I don't think I'd have a problem with it because just like when Mike in Bruce came in here versus Dan invented it was like it. Just beat the hell out of the alternative in in the moment and I think I would feel that way but Alex Smith has no experience to be a general manager not they brought them in in another capacity and elevated Kyle Smith to General Manager and Alex Smith was somehow influential and the decision maker. Maybe he was you know Director of personnel. I will see you got some sort of title director of Dan Snyder You know I don't. I don't know that I have a problem with it. And I don't know that Eric Enemy to me is very intriguing. But they've ed some talent and Kansas City. Let's not forget that they got tyreek Hill. They got Travis Kelsey. They've they did have Kareem Hunt. They've got a guy you may have heard of them. Patrick Mahomes a quarterback Haskins to me so far even though I've been more positive than negative not Patrick Mahomes. He's not even drew lock. Well it's one game that drew. Okay well I know that I'm still waiting for the one. I'm sorry I'm still waiting for the one game from Twain Haskins I know so I'll Kevin yes. If there is a Bruce Allin departure is friendly. And if it's friendly does that mean Bruce Oun we'll still have a voice voice in the organization can as an advisor or him. I don't have the answer but he can't tell me you can't have them you could. He's got to retire. Hire or be fired so that you can get the maximum benefit of his exit. If he's reassigned well it wouldn't surprise me because is Dan. Snyder is clearly detached from what is fan base or majority of the fan base. Thanks but nobody then is going to buy into it. Nobody is now if you wanted to hire him. Name is an outside consultant for the stadium. You know okay. But he can't be in the building by the way that would be at least agree with me building. I agree or you don't the benefit of having a short term benefit. You're going to get from his exit and trust me. It will be short term. Whatever short term benefit you'll get you're not gonNa get if he's still connected with the team in any way shape or form and hire him as a consultant for the stadium is an absolute waste of time a waste of time? Yeah I I don't I don't have any influence on the stadium. You still think about it. Just as quick.

We'll be a good test right. That's right and grab a screamer this summer. A group of submarine hobbyists is who build subs themselves spent a week on flathead lake as volunteers. One of them is hancock who lives in nearby hype bridge columbia on a recent tuesday morning we get into his two man submarine smaller than a compact car already bobbing on the lakes crystal clear surface khun bang on forty feet. One of the stations research scientist is jim craft. He says deep water research research is expensive unless you're going to do a lot with them to put out you know twenty thousand dollars or so for rover or shoot in autumn how much a submarine cost but he does know they don't do enough research that deep to justify the cost but the sediment and algae samples collected on this expedition might lead to more deepwater research video will also help researchers examined invasive mices shrimp so understanding their habits in what author doing is really nice. This scientific reconnaissance wouldn't have been financially feasible for the bio station without proc. The sub hobbyists are members burs of inner space science a collective that connects researchers with private submarine owners when we started it two years ago. Alex smith is the site's founder and seems to be working out the group's seven members solicit expedition ideas from researchers through their website and because they're not commercial operators. No money exchanges his hands. They're just in it for the experience. It's much more rewarding to use your sub that way than to just putter around and just come home with a family family video. Something smith hopes the resulting research will bring in more expedition requests back on the bottom of flathead lake sub owner hand crank and a fellow inner space science member have found some of those invasive mice shrimp beginning their daily migration gracious to feed on the surface. Yes so they're they're so tiny. The mices population has fueled old in explosion of invasive lake trout since the nineteen eighties significantly reducing numbers of native trout species the resulting data from the partnership between the hobbyists owners and researchers could help lake managers understand what's happening with trout populations and how they might restore the ecosystem for n._p._r. The NFL's best and worst offensive arsenals: Barnwell's 32-1 ranking

"Barnwell writes these very lengthy pieces on E._S._p._N.. Dot Com and he wrote a piece that that came out early this morning ranking the N._F._L.'s. Goals offensive arsenals thirty two worst all the way to number one <hes> and basically you know he's considering how the players that the teams have will perform in twenty nineteen. He's not necessarily really just basing it off of recent <hes> recent performance. He's he's he's guessing on what you know. It will be in two thousand nineteen any says also that the as as a preface it with a lengthy the preview before he started ranking them of course in love with is that the arsenals are weighted <hes> the arsenal rankings are weighted more towards receivers than tight ends or running backs <hes> any says also the top elite level talent wins out over depth anyway the rankings start with the thirty second ranked offense of Arsenal Jacksonville Bennett's Denver Miami Seattle and then the Redskins so the redskins have the fifth worst offensive offensive arsenal in the N._F._l.. According to a bill barnwell any rights the investments Washington is made it wide receiver haven't worked out former former seahawks wide out Paul Richardson signed to a five year forty million dollar deal wasn't healthy and Seattle and cautious watches twenty passes in seven games last season former first rounder. Josh DACHSHUND hasn't developed in Washington. Just decline the fifth year option on Dachshund Jamison crowder left the jets <hes> mister relevant Trey Quinn will be as replacement Jay Gruden gruden drafted Terry maclaurin in the third round but there but is there any reason to think Washington is going to start developing whiteouts effectively. This is likely the league's worst group of starting wide receivers while that's the kind those kind the tools you wanNA put around a rookie quarterback and you know the funny thing is according to warn sharp. This is the most expensive offense in the N._F._l.. This mostly costly offense. Well take the field the N._F._l.. Because of the Investment Alex Smith and you know that is not going to write to pay off <hes> yes so I mean again another reason why you you WanNa put this on this limited offense in the hands hands of a quarterback who understands limitations in that case keenum. It's Cole McCoy too but I'm going to operate on the assumption that cultures isn't going to stay healthy so <hes> that's case keenum you don't want to <hes> experiment and test out a rookie <hes> with these with these kind of weapons <hes> especially if you're Jay Gruden and you know you have the expectation or the hope and we're assuming he does is of of having team good enough for him to remain as head coach. You know what's interesting. I was thinking about this as I was reading this early this morning. <hes> that the redskins according to Barnwell look I mean I don't know if it's the worst it's certainly among the five for six worst greg in a starting wide receiver groups and the N._F._l.. And we we know that you know in terms of offensive weapons they don't have much. I mean you have to pray. The Jordan Reed comes back plays thirteen games in his Jordan Jordan Reed again. You got to hope that Chris Thompson is a weapon out of the backfield. The dairy skies pays off as a second round pick and turns into a a guy that with Adrian Peterson is a big time back that that that <hes> Vernon Davis continues to be effective in it somebody somebody whether it's Richardson Dachshund or Harmon or maclaurin. Somebody steps up you.

Broncos trading Keenum to Redskins

"Case keenum to the Washington Redskins that one will officially happen next week as well bought they swapped late round picks, the split his salary keenum expendable in Denver. With of course, Joe flacco now in a Broncos uniform. So the Broncos really stopgap quarterbacks last year, it was case keenum this year's going to be Joe flacco course, Peyton Manning was not a stopgap when they got him in John Elway zero. That was a big time acquisition that helped the Broncos win a Super Bowl and get to another one. So the last couple of years though, they're trying to find some magic here with some guys off the scrap heap. I don't know how much flacco has left in the tank we'll find out in twenty nineteen. But case keenum to me is a good backup quarterback in the NFL. I guess he's an okay starter on a mediocre to bad team. Maybe, but I don't see case keenum the long-term answer in DC. They had to do some where you really going to go into the season with an injured Alex Smith and Colt McCoy and a rookie if they were to drop on. We'll talk more about the

NFL Rumors Mailbag: Kyler Murray, Justin Houston Trade

"Yeah. What this is shocking to me in the sense that when we were having this discussion about quarterback musical chairs in the fall. My thought had always been the Jags are going to draft a quarterback. And it still seems to me like the more prudent direction here is for them to move up for Golic Hoskins or Murray rather than giving Nick foles twenty million dollars a year when you're already over the cap, it just I just don't understand what if the answer is both. And what I mean by this is that Dave Gettleman came out and said the sin. I think this has the opportunity to be very dumb trend around the league. But did other came out and said, we'll work was the Kansas City mom's it's stupid way to think about which is adding a veteran die on a legitimate contract. And then the guy learning behind him. Now, I don't think that them bring in foles precludes them from taking quarterback in the first two rounds. I don't know if they bring in foles, obviously at a number like twenty they're not gonna trade up into the top five, but they could still draft a a significant future starter quarterback type guy. Now, I think is a couple of things we need to to sort of peel back on with the Kansas City model first of all not everybody's gonna be Patrick Mahomes. Second of all the infrastructure in Kansas City was so remarkably good perfect. They basically structure had Nagy and and read working with Smith and they assigned Mike kaffa to Patrick Mahomes. And so you. Had not only Mahomes working with Alex Smith every day working with read in in meetings. But also anytime he needed something explained to him. He basically had the quarterbacks coach at his disposal. The infrastructure and other places is not going to be like that. There aren't three really smart or four because out include Eric b enemy in that. There are not four really smart innovators in thirty one of the other teams in this league. So if you're going to try the Kansas City, Molly better have Kansas City coaches, and you'd better have talent like Patrick Mahomes need better have a leader like Alex Smith. I just think that was a unicorn if you want to replicate a good luck. It does not make sense to me to allocate your resources in that way. If you're going to sign Nick foles, the idea of drafting a quarterback in the first two rounds, you are team that is built to win at this very moment. That's why you're signing foles using a high level draft pick on a quarterback while also burning twenty million bucks on your starter that I I have no idea. Why teams think that's a good? It's the same thing. The cardinals last year paying Sam Bradford what they did. Wall dressing. Josh Rosen like just put him in just put him in. I it's Mahomes is such a different case in that team was on such a different part of where they wanted to go in their schedule. The Jacksonville Jaguars are there. But why would you tr what would you also draft the guy? I just don't understand that at all. I don't know teams plan specifically. But there are a lot of teams don't know what they're doing. No. There are a lot of towns lie they're doing I don't know if anybody's looked into the last the NFL's celebrating one hundred years and one of the Constance is like my field of dreams speech. The only constant is a lot of teams and have no idea what they're doing my favorite part about. This is gonna be what happens with the offensive line market the players in the pass rushing market or good enough that even with those top four guys off giving Dante Fowler big deal or Trey flowers Iansa. There are players I like in that group more than others. But I'm still okay. With a guy like trae flowers. Getting paid. But it's going to be amazing when the guy Daryl Williams is off the board and then Roger Sappho than teams like, well, we're the Donovan Smith winners five years sixty million.

"We will join the AFC division game between the patriots and the chargers. And then following that. We'll get the NFC. Division game between the Philadelphia Eagles who travel to New Orleans to face the New Orleans Saints. And then the racing report was saying the Sunday supplement and Willie from nine to midnight tomorrow night. So that's your Sunday rundown. Yeah. Let's talk a little NFL little colts with Ricky in Indiana. Ricky what's going on? Fantastic. Brother. What'd you think? Are you? Well, yeah, we're waiting on the Los Angeles Rams season to end because it looks like Zack Taylor the quarterbacks coach is going to become the next head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. So more power to the Rams and does act Taylor. Get a new coach in here. And let's get this program. Back on track. Because I don't believe it's one of the worst jobs that were opened in the National Football League. You've got a patient owner you've got out several outstanding players you just gotta keep adding to that Ed to the offensive line. And you know, Rick I can live with Devon white because I mean every mock draft see has LSU linebacker Devon white six one to forty. He's an absolute stud going to the Bengals at number eleven my feeling is. And I like the Bengals quarterback. Andy Dalton the red rifle. I think he can get you to the playoffs. I don't thinking he can win you a Super Bowl and a guy. Can I believe is Dwayne Haskins some day, and I like the Bengals to draft a quarterback into Wayne Haskins. He probably won't last two eleven. So you might have to go up trade up and get him. Okay. He's probably gonna go to the New York Jets or giants at six. Okay. And what what I'm afraid of is it the Pittsburgh Steelers knowing that Ben Rothlisberger is on the eighteenth tee of his career what one year max to me probably next year. Really should be it for Ben. They could definitely trade Antonio Brown because he is absolutely fallen out of favor with that franchise. Get a first round pick for him and use those picks to move up and take twain Haskins and. A whole bunch of Buckeye fans will become Steeler fans. No doubt. If that happens. So Ricky, and I know you're looking forward to baseball season, brother. So am I we're gonna talk who's going to be the reds center fielder? You got any predictions for me? Right now. Right. Well, I'm gonna put my chips to the middle of the table. And I'm gonna take Philip Ervin. Let's give him a chance and brother, we will talk soon. Appreciate the call from Valparaiso, Indiana, man. You are the man. Thanks so much Rik in Valparaiso Brandon's in Indianapolis, Brandon. What is going on paychecks for a little bit disappointed with I'm disappointed with the I like the Bengals stupid. I'm a colts fan. And what? Yeah. That was disappointing. They just couldn't generate anything and this this could be at for Adam venit, Terry. It is. I think it is what he's had a great career. You know? But I I don't know if it's the weather had an impact, you know. But I think Kansas City now takes I mean, I don't know if they can beat nor I could be wrong. You don't want everyone account New England out. But I thought we had a chance trickster, and I think a lot of people giving the colts a chance because. Defense is effective. But today, I think they just showed what they are about. You know, I think whoever has to go there. It's going to be hard for if it is New England or the chargers, but you never wanna Brady out. But I don't know. I think this year the chiefs get that stick it to them just kind of a morbid sense of if the New England wins tomorrow to have them get run out of the gym at Arrowhead. I would love it. Sorry. New England Patriots fans, but van I am tired of them in the in the AFC title game. I I am to see it as far as as far as the Bengals go. I I hope I hope they get the right coach. You know? I, you know, I mean, you know, the the Rams seasons. Don't go one. In hope. I wish the best for Marvin. I think he was a nice guy and all time for a change. But with the quarterback situation you were talking about Dwayne Haskins if the Bengals could draft him somehow cut me, they tried the read rightful or. Kind of like an AJ McCarron type deal if he would he would tutor Dwayne Haskins for a year and then Andy move on and make bigger dollars. Elsewhere. He would be trae trading. Yeah. He could he's like Alex Smith he could make a bunch of money elsewhere. But but the, but but groom Dwayne Haskins free year Dwayne takes over and twenty twenty. Andy Dalton moves on. I don't want to hear about what you're saying. Is you don't think doll the guy that can get you over the hump and away? Correct. Yeah. I think it probably win you a playoff game. I don't think you can get you to a Super Bowl and other that great guy. He's a good career. He's a good player. But I need an impact player taking snaps. As far as you say real quick. I know you won't get so much time as far as you see. Because were going on. 'cause I mean with not follow Butler, and because I'm from here. But. Did listen to you? See I don't think there's good as last year with oh, look who all you lost. But obviously football game tonight. But I did hear Macron's comment. He was not happy. But I think they're going to be okay. I guess against they're still NCWA. You probably know more about fourteen in three, and this is a very balanced deeper American athletic conference, and I'm loving the fact that Wichita states in there, and it's bringing back memories of the old Missouri valley when I was a kid, and that was the best conference in the land. And Brandon I gotta run man. Thanks. Yeah. Baby. I mean, I think so I really do. Yeah. They're starting to find themselves in just a huge boost to beat to beat Georgetown into comeback. Like they did. Thanks so much. I appreciate it. And I want to talk a little Cincinnati Reds when we return who is going to play center field for this club. And I wanna talk a little bit of the lineup one through eight man. Yeah. When we return

Extreme Temperatures May Pose Risks To Some Mail-Order Meds

"It's become pretty common to order drugs through the mail and Amazon has jumped into the game. So that market could get even bigger, but there are still some big questions about safety. Alex Smith is with member station. Casey. You are the weather in park hills in eastern Missouri can be all over the map, according to resident Loretta Bozing. We experienced temperatures like they would fill in Arizona. You know? Sometimes we experience the temperatures like they fill up north Bozing things. Those extreme temperatures played a part in a health scare involving her son Wesley in two thousand twelve when Wesley was too he got so sick from the flu that he needed a liver transplant the surgery went well, but just a few months later lab tests showed Wesley body appeared to be rejecting the organ Bozing felt devastated and guilty. I feel that extra duty not just protecting his life. But the life that lives on inside him in the end, Wesley rallied and kept his new liver. But Loretta kept wondering what might have gone wrong. Then he remembered that when his transplant medications were last livered they had been left outside by the garage where they sat for hours temperatures that date were in the hundreds far higher than the safe range listed on the drugs guidelines at the time. She hadn't worried about it. Even though I see plainly on the bottle. You know that it says store at room temperature. I still thought someone's making sure it was safe. But after Wesley setback Bozing swore off mail order altogether. And this year, she started a Facebook group for patients who are worried about mail order drugs. She thinks all insures should give their customers easy access to retail pharmacies and less mail. Order companies can prove the drugs are getting to patients at the right temperatures. There are three big mail order companies Express Scripts CVS care, Mark. And Optima ex all three insist. They've got the shipping down to a science and warehouse in Kansas City. Optima ex-workers pet specialty medications with ice pack. An insulated containers lead pharmacist Alicia Heller explains that this warehouse shipped up to one hundred thousand prescriptions day, and includes assistance to account for weather. There's an extreme heat situation. The system will tell the technician to add an extra ice pack because we've monitored the zip code and the weather in that area, but it up Rx and across the industry room temperature medications, like most blood pressure or cholesterol drugs are just dropped in bubble. But there are some risks we've discussed that they have to understand echo says it's possible that medications in oral suspension like Wesley was taking could be affected by extreme heat or cold echo thinks. It's just a matter of time before mail order pharmacies start using temperature controlled packaging for non specialty drugs as well and include a temperature monitor in each package, so customers know their drugs never got too hot or too cold during shipping, but pharmacy consultant Adam find says that approach would just drive up costs, and he points out that many. It's already guarantee customers the right to use retail pharmacies if they prefer he thinks the temperature concerned are overblown. Newbie Mark Sanchez replaces Redskins QB McCoy, out for season with broken leg

"It was a twenty eight thirteen loss for Washington to the eagles McCoy also becomes the second quarterback for Washington to suffer such a fate. Alex Smith broke his fibula and tibia in week eleven so now Washington at six and six has to try and stay in the playoff picture with Mark Sanchez who was signed on November nineteenth. It was a tall task no doubt. But you know, there's no excuses to make you just do your very best. And I'm grateful for the opportunity, and you know, I was praying for an opportunity and I thank God for the opportunity. It just never wanted under these circumstances. So with respect to Alex and cold. You know, I gotta do my very best to to play well and help rally this team in figure out a way to win. And that's that's the ultimate former respect I think for those guys because guard definitely breaks for them. They're they're great competitors. And great people. And so you never wanted under those circumstances. Like, I said, but you go on your very best. Nine eleven days since Dallas. How many did you get any reps? No cole. Cole was getting ready to play. And that's the way it should have been. I would have wanted that. If I was in cold shoe. So I I totally understood that there was you know, for me to go and play was an emergency situation and those things happen. So you know, now it goes from contingency plan to game plan. And and we got another tough task next week the thing we're at home, and you know, we got a on a short week too. So, but like I said at the beginning, then there's no excuses, and to be totally honest. I mean, nobody cares. Nobody cares that you know, you charged with a job you get paid to play this game. And you get paid to go win. And that's what people expect. So that's the kind of pressure. We put on ourselves must more than outside our building. And. I mean, I can't tell you how much I respect those guys in there. I can't name all of them who came up to me. Not just because I'm new but all the guys who came up to me like, man. Hang in there. You're good. We get it. We understand. We know you're a vet. But we understand rally for you. You're gonna do great next week. And that I mean for a new guy on a team that that feels good because it's like the first day high school, where do I sit at launch kinda thank you know. So there's there's a lot of that going on. But I think we'll be just fine. And we just gotta work hard put her head down and work hard and challenge each other and gone player. Best Mark Sanchez now the starting quarterback for Washington after replacing Colt McCoy on Monday McCoy leaving the beginning of the second quarter after going four for four for fifty yards. But leaves the game with a broken leg. Eagles go on to get the win twenty eight thirteen they've won back to back games after back to back losses Washington and Philadelphia both one game behind Dallas in the NFC east. Carson wentz. Pretty good game for Phillies

Brett Favre: 'Mike McCarthy is an excellent coach'

"Brett farve came out in support of Mike McCarthy this week. Oh. La pressure on Aaron Rodgers earned. Unlike him Brett says he is an excellent coach that might hurt. The I think Mike is is an excellent coach they have to win. And I think when and hurry or something may happen there earns playing outstanding. And really keeping them in games. Their defense is really at times looking really good opportunistic aggressive, but I don't see that. I see a lot of potential. I just think that they're underachieving little bit right now. Okay. Of course farve connects with Mike McCarthy, first of all the personalities old school. Little stubborn their cut from the same cloth. The other thing is McCarthy saved Forbes career Mike Sherman was a bad NFL coach Green Bay was four and twelve McCarthy came in and turned it around in two years. They went eight an eight and then went thirteen and three. So, of course, farve loves him. He read I'd love a boss to if he resurrected my career ours loves him. The second thing is never forget this McCarthy use. Used to be in San Francisco and his Greg Jennings. Told us the former Packer he didn't love Aaron Rodgers coming out of college. The thing about Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy that people miss sometimes who's the number one overall pick the year Aaron Rogers came out Alex Smith who was his offense coordinator, Mike McCarthy. And it would just be so random in Aaron we'll take a shot at Mike like, oh, yeah. Like how you picked Alex Smith. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So listen farve is gonna love McCarthy. Same personality cut from the same clause resurrected his career. And there's no question that Aaron Rodgers is a different dude. The McCarthy he inherits McCarthy McCarthy is farve guy and McCarthy wants passed on him. I I'm not a grudge holder. But I don't forget stuff, I forgive. And I don't forget about I'm not a grudge holder. But if Aaron Rodgers is like can come guy. He's right McCarthy's kind of afar of guy and so. Farve comes out and says I love Mike McCarthy. I totally get it completely absolutely explainable. I do think McCarthy and Rogers twelve years in time for divorce. There are always hear horror stories about bad divorces McCarthy will get under job, Aaron we get a more progressive offensive mind. It will all be good Aaron have after this year. Another good for years. I'll be last physically Khalil Mack twice a year. Biking's defense twice a year. But Aaron's going to have an ice for years after this year. They're not gonna make the playoffs this year.

Redskins' Alex Smith suffers gruesome, season-ending leg injury

"Larry, Michael and Chris Cooley the team nine hundred Washington Redskins radio network. It was a very serious injury. Thirty three years to the day. The Joe thighs men suffered that gruesome injury to his leg. Alex Smith with a fractured fibula and tibia. He was carted off. He was operated on immediately. His season is over Cole McCoy came on in relief through touchdown pass. Kept it close Washington actually got to a point where they tried a field goal to potentially win the ballgame from sixty three yards out. It's time expired it fell short and Houston hung on for the twenty three to twenty one win. Jay Gruden on the injury that everybody turn their faces away from obviously Alex Smith. He broke his tibia and fibia and fracture. You don't need surgery right away. What did you see? If Alex is injury. Have you spoken to him at the time or since have seen anything the Andhra? I'd knows very painful form, and you know, heartbreaking for a lot of people. He's a great guy a hard worker. I wanna key leaders on his football team. So these things happen in pro football. Unfortunately, just hate to see them happen to a guy like, Alex. But the guy is kill bounce back. Hopefully, he does for right now. The Redskins trying to ride out the remainder of this season are gonna turn to Colt McCoy and Adrian Peterson. Yeah. Two touchdowns today. But Washington at six and four their lead shrink to a single game in the NFC east other side, Houston, seven and three flying high in the AFC, south JJ watt on this win streak. Yeah. I think that's the best thing about this team. Is that we always believe we believe in each other. We believe in find a way, we don't know how we don't know where we don't know why. But we believe that we're going to find a way to win the game. And we've been on that seven times in a row. So we're going to keep that going and just keep working. Hard to try and find ways Houston is the first team to win seven hundred zero after starting

"Put those rumors the bed and say no it's not me guys got the wrong guy i are definitely still in washington only to find out a little bit later that he actually was the guy the guy traded so i'm saying it's time to get a new aged kendall yes it stabbing in a new aged it's good that you had a new team because they didn't think very highly of you to tell you hey the trading bloc yeah it would be nice to maybe give him a heads up next on hey manual and traded that that that little lie the wind out of a lot of brown's hands when they seen it alex smith was going to the washington redskins i think that was like the over that the overall feeling here that that people thought we had a chance at alec smith and cleveland yet john dorsey the new general manager for the browns comes here from kansas city via uh unemployment let's say and since he got let go or step down in kansas city last year and i think that was the natural connection for everybody i think it's pretty well known that dorsey is a guy that doesn't want to play with the rookie quarterback he thought really highly of alex smith and i think everyone sort of expected that sort of naturally to happen because there wasn't any obvious trade destinations for alec smith outside of the browns and all of a sudden outta nowhere in a time that nobody expects now we wake up and he gets treated to the redskins so now browns fans are panicking is that that make the browns fant like through that make the browns one of a loser of the straight no and here's why what has my notes your 'damas prediction is coming true yeah this just puts the browns one step closer to signing kirca's unless you're going with israel briefly.

"What's it called six here have doesn't or the other you know you got to look at it it's a close call but to me it it is just to wash because clearly the redskins are just saving money more than anything else alex smith to me the game manager he's not a game changer what kirk cousins again cost a lot of money for do they can't even get you to the pacific maybe it's not his fault maybe we need to be looking at j glued maybe they doesn't need to be to goudin's coaching in the national football league in a head coach and we all they can no one's going to sit a up the essay john gruden doesn't deserve to be a head coach job but jake rooted that's a discuss it that's worth having no question about it but if you to washington redskins i'm not franchise tag in a gang kirk cousins paying kirk because it's all that money i could miss the playoff bob handsome body considerably less than i would have had to pay him neither alex smith nor kirk cousins to think is the kind of quarterback who will stop in otherwise great team from winning a super bowl put neither is one that's going to put an otherwise good team over the top and win them a super bowl there are kind of the same guy that way the one thing you mentioned about alec smith with the low turnover stephen a i would actually like to see that number go up a little bit because it would say to me that what is missing from alex smith really middle gunslinger he needs a little more than you usually don't say that about a quarterback usually they have too much but he's missing the number one overall pick he's missing that and he could use a little more of that i think that super low turnover ratio for him at the section total for him his maybe actually just for him not a great sign one more thing about the nfc east now the eagles and the giants both have now two teams in the division were generally the quarterbacks not going to throw the ball more than ten yards like i know smith that it more early last season.
