The Incredible Shrinking Package
"Shrink flation. It's a key phrase is being used right now to describe what package goods makers are doing in retail stores and in supermarkets so they actually typically keep the package the same size but they reduce the amount of contents in the package. So it means that you are paying what you think is the same price but then you open the bag of chips or whatever and gosh. It sure doesn't seem like there's a lot there in this really is going on. I shared with you. That i'm a longtime dollar tree aficionado. And i remember how many ounces there are in each thing hot. Tamales have continually reduced from six ounces for one dollar box five point five two now five point. Oh aim toothpaste. Seven point two two six point zero to five point five two now. I think it's five point. Oh for number of ounces toothpaste and on like that. I may be wrong. On the exact ounces on the aim that would really undermine my credibility. Wouldn't it anyway but this is happening as you shop. So how do you counteract this at a time that they're obvious price pressures on manufacturers on retailers on the supermarkets. What you do well. You pivot a number of ways. First things. I go back to a boring standard boring except your wallet loves it. Checked the unit pricing unit pricing is your friend to combat shrink flation.
PS4 Exclusive Ghost of Tsushima Could Be Coming to PC
"One other rope report. Ali ghost of tsushima coming to we go to fan bite. Were kenneth shepherd writes. It looks like sony might considering another one of his first party games to make the shift from playstation exclusive to pc. As roma's box art has been updated. And it's missing. Something pretty significant sucker punches. Oakland world take on fuel. Japan has a new box art as seen on sony's website while it now includes graphic. Referencing the games post launch multiplayer mode. Something has been removed the quote only on playstation designation. That was once found in the top right corner of the case. The same can be said of days gone in horizon zero dawn which were both brought to pc after originally launching as ps four exclusives. However it is worth noting. That sony seems to be moving away from the only on playstation branding altogether as being g points out playstation five exclusives ratchet and clank ripped. Apart in. demon's souls don't have the logo on their box arts. Could this just be sony future. Proofing for any of its possible Pc that has in the works or is the branding just going away. That remains to be seen
Wall Street Journal Article Explains Why 'Free Money Can Make Life Worse'
"Of the workforce, pay him to never work again. And by the way, you may be thinking to yourself. Oh, yeah. This free money stuff. This works really well. It's compassionate. I mean, we're giving people money they needed. No, they need a job and you need to tell them they need a job. That's real compassion. Here's an article in The Wall Street Journal. Be my newsletter today. I need you to read. It's important. It's by Robert Door who worked in New York City during the welfare reform years. Rudy Giuliani and Bill Clinton, who worked with Newt Gingrich to put conditions on people working. He said. If you are going to get taxpayer money from people who are working, then you need to be looking for a job. If you're addicted to drugs, you need to see treatment. You're in a fatherless home. You need to try to find you need to do your best to find the father. The father should be paying too. And liberals will tell you all that was really that was horrible. There was so evil it was so not compassionate. How dare you pay people Excuse me take away money from people who are not working. Well, what happened when they did that Well hears from a guy who lived here is the top of the peace free money can make life worse. Robert Door, Wall Street Journal today. He talks about after they implemented welfare reform and made people look for jobs. What happened, folks? Well, outcomes approved across nearly every measure of child well being. Child hunger dropped education, improved health outcomes have gotten progressively better and properly measured. Child poverty fell almost 8% points in the subsequent decades. Why? Because parents went back to work. They got careers, many of them they taught that example to their kids. Their kids want to work. How do you explain a story like my mother in law came here with nothing? Came here with zero in her wallet didn't even speak the English language from the great country of Colombia came over here. Created three

Fancy new york for the summer a stone throw away from the lopez his own residence in water mail. This is according to page six over the weekend. He shared a video of himself shooting hoops as on his new hamptons home. Which is three minutes away. You get this three minutes away from j.lo's now. Why You Shouldn't Block Your Ex (If You Want Them Back)
"One thing that you should not do that. Many people do after a break-up which is going to affect whether you get your experience not and when you've been broken up with or you had to break up with them because they were taking it for granted or they cheated probably your first instinct is going to be to block them because you wanna hurt them in some way. Y'all still want to scare them and you want them to think it's over so that they'll react you try and get reaction. You're trying to do something. And so you block or you one follow on from whatever and as i've said before don't do that don't do that. You're cutting yourself off for no reason. You don't do that until at least two months have passed and then sometimes even beyond that. You don't have to do that really depends sometimes. I'll speak to a client. And i'll say okay you know what don't block them. Don't unfold them even though more than sixty days have passed because it suits that particular situation. So i have an email here from someone and i'm going to go through what she did was she did right but she could have done better. Let's say so that. I can better explain this process of why it's better to not blocked because as i've said again before when you've been broken up with your job is to do what that's right. Nothing absolutely nothing zero. Do not lift a finger and that means on following no blocking no one friend ing until it's time
76ers’ Season Comes Apart in Game 7 Against the Hawks
"The hawks they beat the sixers on the road in philly one. Oh three to ninety six automate. That trae young was five for twenty three five for twenty three. Kevin heard a red velvet. Twenty seven point seven butcher's boy. He just back down. Seth curry got wherever we wanted on the floor. Ben simmons was zero when the moment there's two moments kyle summed up the night for me third quarter. Matisse steidl steals the ball gets a dunk on the end of the end of the floor trae young gift the inbound pushes at the other way lob john collins and then the hawks scored a couple more times towards the end of the third quarter and then of course in the fourth quarter of the game. the play. everybody's talking about ben simmons inside. The pain has an opportunity for a wide open. Layup wide open could easily to his right hand. Any passes it to matisse taya covered just defender draped over him on a cut gets fouled and like. What are we doing here. Ben simmons it like it. Those two plays for me. Atlanta's tough and and ben simmons and the sixers just rattled the whole game.
Bucks Bounce Back to Beat Nets and Force Game 7
"We begin today with the milwaukee bucks going wire to wire to defeat brooklyn by fifteen points last night. Kevin durant scored thirty two for brooklyn but it took him thirty shots to get it. Chris middleton and janta compo- were much better they combined for sixty eight points and twenty seven rebounds and they shot twenty-three for thirty six wilpon does milwaukee's performance lead you to believe they can go to brooklyn and win game seven they can. Yes tony and you outlined all the important numbers all of them. And then there's one that's even more important it's zero number of three pointers jacked up by answers compo- none he didn't do it. He kept his big strong quick fast. Talented self in the space where he should be. Don't eat what you. I've been screaming for even the previous series. He kept himself near the basket and did his work there and stop jacking up those shots now. We know they can do it will they. I mean that's the first smart gamed. The bucks have played in. This series should have won the series already. If they had taken the same tact particularly with onto the kupu. But i do. I have faith that they will go with that same recipe. I don't know that. I have that faith. What about you. okay. So yes i agree with you that they can win right and one of the ways they could win as if pj tucker was able to do to kevin durant again in game seven what he did in game six. Because tucker was plus thirty and durant was minus seven but mike game six was not critical for brooklyn. They had a game to play with because the critical game for them was game five and they want it so for every home team has won. You have to tell me why that's going to change now. I look back on game five. And i see kevin durant scoring forty nine points. He's a great great player. I somehow have faith that if it's up to him to win game seven at home. He's going to win it.
Aleks Svetski on Bitcoin as Sovereign Money
"Our guys bang bang got ox here with what's going on man. What's up man. How are you No voice left sudden hung into this Were talking shortly after a pretty big news of el salvador about a four day period went from Announcing that they were going to create. Bitcoin is legal tender with nice within el salvador or accepted as legal tender Then they basically put forward a bill. They voted on it. They passed it. It's now legal tender. The president jumps on twitter spaces. He's time all kinds of answering questions. Like super candid Seemed like a pretty open book at some point. Mining comes up. He's like oh well. We've volcano a volcanic energy. That is one hundred percent renewable hundred percent clean zero emission And basically free. Maybe we could use that for mining twenty four hours later. he's literally already drilled. The well in mike seems like he's up to the races. What the hell is going on. Now this is. I mean el salvador. Bitcoin it's like the this space moves so fast it's like two weeks ago. The pope was like we can't use bitcoin two weeks later. We've got a country putting some bitcoin. Like talk me through like from what i understood. It's they're going to so they've made it legal tender people who don't want to hold bitcoin. They can actually sell it back to the government. So the governor's gonna hold bitcoin and give them fiat. Is that right so In all salvador and again this is a over generalization. But there's basically two banks that you're going to hear about your here about the central bank right or or kind of the the state balance sheet the reserves because they technically don't have they don't have their own currency so there's a reserve assets of the government. There's this development bank that is owned by the
Motor Trend Reviews Plaid Model S, and and New Battery Details
"Everybody here and stay. We're talking about the first journalist reviews of the new plan model. we've also got an update on the battery capacity. We'll talk about some details behind that we've got an update from dan is on tesla's stock an update on gigabyte lynn news on tussles referral program. And an interesting tweet from elon. Musk that has caused a lot of speculation. Also quick the stock tussle today finishing up about two percent to six hundred and sixteen dollars sixty cents. That compared to the nasdaq also. Strong day up nine tenths of a percent are. Let's start off here with the initial reviews of the model s. so we have one for motor trend. We have one from automotive journalist. Jason kameda whenever tesla has a new vehicle. I always look forward to these. It's kind of a nice time to celebrate what tesla has done with that new vehicle and unlike what we see business news wise from cnbc or reuters. This is automotive new. So the writing is different style. there's a lot of primitives. Nice compliments towards tesla and sometimes some really beautiful writing which again you tend not to see too much in business. News look at trends review here first. So of course. The question that everyone has undermined around this vehicle is can't actually do zero to sixty in under two seconds motor trends answer. Yes but with some stipulation so they actually spent kind of the i. I don't know half or third of this article talking about the requirements that they had for their sixty test run which i think unfortunately it detracts a little bit from their main takeaways. Which of course. We'll talk about as well but they been a fair amount of time talking about how Wanted them to run on a specific track with specific tests conditions. One of those conditions being that the drag strip needed to be prepared with hd which motor trend says as a quote thick black resin that allows cars to accelerate quicker than is possible on normal roads and quote framed that way it does look a little bit manipulative or suspect. But it's not like the hd is common this is a substance that most drag strips are using and using in competition so this is not so unusual thing in quarter mile races. It's just not how motor trend. Test their cars so they wanted to make sure that that part was clear so understanding that they write quote. The plaid model s zips down the quarter mile in a staggeringly quick. Nine point. two five seconds up one hundred fifty two point six miles per hour.
Supreme Court Rejects Third Challenge to ACA
"The supreme court has rejected another legal challenge to the affordable care act the signature. Healthcare law passed under the obama administration in a seven two decision. The court found that a case brought by texas and other republican leaning states lacked legal. Standing is the third time the court has considered the two thousand ten law and the third time that the aca has prevailed for more on. Today's decision i'm joined by wall street journal. Legal affairs reporter brent kendall. Hi brian thanks for being here. Thanks for having me so brent. Tell us more about the court's reasoning here. This is the third time. The court has had to wade into this area. I mean in some ways. This was the most unlikely of three cases. This was all setup because congress a couple of years ago there's a mandate in the law that most people buy insurance and there was a penalty associated with that if you didn't and so what congress did a couple years ago as part of a tax reform package zero out the penalty so now even if you don't have coverage and your technically supposed to. There's no monetary penalty for doing that. The complication is supreme court previously upheld the law and the idea that congress could use its taxing power as a justification for the mandate in the first place and so then republicans stepped in and said. Well there's no tax anymore you can't justify the law under the taxing power and so what the court said today as well. You don't really have any valid basis for making that argument because nobody is hurt by. The government charging us zero dollars for not carrying insurance. The end we don't say anything else in the case.
'Obamacare' survives: Supreme Court dismisses big challenge
"The Supreme Court has dismissed another challenge to the Obama era health care law preserving insurance coverage for millions of Americans the Supreme Court has just ruled the ACA is here to stay Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was quick to hail the ruling by seven to two vote the justices left the entire affordable Care Act intact ruling that Texas and others who sued to have it scrapped failed to show they have the standing to attack it as unconstitutional they've gone after the laws mandate that people have health insurance or pay a penalty but that requirement became toothless when Congress reduced the penalty to zero four years ago meanwhile poll suggests the law has grown in popularity something president Biden and other Democrats like Schumer are looking to build on and now we're gonna try to make it bigger and better established once and for all affordable healthcare as a basic right of every American citizen Ben Thomas Washington
High court dismisses challenge to Obama health law
"The Supreme Court has dismissed a challenge to the Obama era health care law by seven to two vote the justices left the entire law intact ruling that Texas other Republican led states and two individuals had no right to bring their lawsuit in federal court the law's major provisions include protections for people with pre existing health conditions a range of no cost preventative services and the expansion of the Medicaid program that ensures lower income people including those who work in jobs that don't pay much or provide health insurance also left in place is the laws now toothless requirement that people have health insurance or pay a penalty Congress rendered that provision irrelevant four years ago when it reduced the penalty to zero Ben Thomas Washington
Tanha Basile: How to Systematize Your Portrait Photography Business for Success
"Sounds like your calendar is set up to photograph one session. Every day of the weekday for the target is it yes absolutely yeah pretty straightforward and i can actually do a morning session with the baby and then go out sunset with a family which is quite common thing as well. Sorry yeah i'll hard-working sounds like there's two parts of the business. It's newborn maternity newborn and also the family side treat them as separate businesses at all rolled into one and if it is all one which is the most successful pot. It's all rolled into one end. I would say newborn is my popularized. Honor that idea so my sister my mornings at least three to four days a week. It's all new sessions. Monday to friday. And then yeah probably a couple of shoots a week. One zero three shoots a week going family outdoor. Say there's just probably that one day. Maybe two days hero the way of workdays i mean that i can actually see the computer and at it and do that kind of thing but i still am. One of these. People will be editing into the not. Just because that's when. I kind of come alive so family so looking at your books in your numbers is the family saw more profitable than nibble inside. Always the other way round. It's all the same. Yes does nothing and out more if anything might just why process with families is slightly changed and the amount of images that i would give them the editing behind my family. Furthers is a little less than my new orleans because obviously new ones have bumps and bruises and battle winds from on. Sometimes you know from bruising or just people skiing these kind of flaky marmots and the history touch with his family outdoorsy kind of really just -cumentaries marmottan you can batch that a little bit more and be a little bit. Sort of cut sorry perfection. It's not fine. I it's documentation of the
Is New Texas Longhorns Coach Chris Beard the Best Hire in 2021?
"It's been a pretty slow week in college basketball. Exactly zero icons have announced their retirement plans. No assistance have been named their schools coach in waiting. But i did talk to texas coach chris beard earlier in the week. So let's talk about that deadline. Let me start by asking you. This most seemed to believe that crispier will in the long term and perhaps in the short term as well but certainly in the long-term proved to be the best hire from two thousand and twenty one. Do you agree with that. I don't know if he'll have not not not explicitly so i think that he's got a really good shot at being very successful. I think his odds are probably the best. But i also think the nature of the job. He's taking the league. he's taking it in even kansas. Gets you know. Dial back here a more than a few notches for a few years. It's still going to be kansas bill. Self has an ideal contract situation going forward so he would not be my pick. He would not be most likely picked to do the best job at this school for the long term. I think he has to objectively be in like the top three of that conversation. Hell he might be your number one. That's part of why you spoke them to begin with but he would not be my pick to be the most successful at the school. Among the hires power conferences in this cycle. Then who would be. Okay i will go with craig smith because i think craig smith has the best chance at both having success and staying at that school. Not that chris. Beard won't like chris beers at texas for the next twenty years and won a national championship. Of course. I could foresee that happening but to me. Correct smith has been really good at south dakota utah state. Now he's going to go to utah. And i think this is a situation. I you know we're all just shooting darts here. But i think that is most likely spot for coach. Have long term success at that

Diving Into Luminar AI with Nicole Young
"Your position on artificial intelligence as it applies to anything you know and specifically photography but learning and teaching people how to be better photographers. So i'm actually going to steal something. That i recently heard rich harrington says he works a lot with luminaries. Silom he he. He explained something so well. I was like i have to remember that because it's such a good way of explaining it so when somebody has an issue you know people. Oh a i with my you know editing photos. I don't want to do anything. And then he was like well. Do you use autofocus. do you use aperture priority. Do you know all these things that we already do with our camera. That are just so natural that we've had for ch- for decades of having cameras even before the digital era era or whatever before the digital era autofocus. It still is making all of these decisions for you to help you like when i'm trying to photograph birds in my backyard also zone focus and hope that it finds that bird. That's moving around. It's easier for me to do that. Because that's what. I want to photograph if i did everything with manual focus. I'd probably never get a good shot of something. That's tr- that's that's in motion like that. So i have no no problem with a a i especially when it comes to our. I've been using it for a really long time. So it's not like you open up your photo it goes poof. This is your image. This is how it looks and you can't do anything to it there. Are you know it has a lot of sliders in there. That enhance is probably a good example. Where you can move the slider up to one hundred. You can move it to zero. You can never use a site or if you don't want to if you use it you're going to decide exactly how far it's gonna go. You can still mask it and say well. I like it did here. I don't like it. What it in the background. So i'm just gonna mascot so it's only showing this area. It's not like you push a button and it auto masks for you. Which isn't a bad feature either. Because i know other programs like you know other programs are going to either have the future they have those features. So that's in my opinion is. It's just another tool to another way of using tool.
"zero" Discussed on Zero Credit(s)
"I hope you said good things and our last comments comes to us from blog why original the original the original weblog. Yeah and blog writes good post. I will be dealing with a few of these issues as well and that was in response episode one sixty do crimes so blog is GonNa do crime. It's not really an issue when the answer is to just do some crimes. Just do some crimes crimes. I'll be deal out some of these crimes myself. Well I do appreciate you bringing these comments. So it's important that we interface with our listeners. Now more than ever as we as we say goodbye to this website I just wanted to like sort of sacred by to these these people who have reached out to us and have come into contact with us now. The funny thing is we actually have gotten a few helen cereal. Y'All reality comments and I don't see them now. Because I approve the mic over. Over the time we actually. I think we actually did get a couple of actual comments on blueberry on blueberry. How but anyway I actually. I found it a similar to the way. This was from trolled girl woman okay. I think it's a real person. Because she wrote should this be called supplemental viewing not reading asking her friend. Okay that's pretty good. That's pretty good. I'm pretty sure that's like the only one we've ever actually got her want to say. Hey thanks for the memories troll girl woman thank you number one for the memories and also number two. You really didn't get what we were going for in naming a supplement the reading. Well she was trolling. Oh Wow really nail. Yes she mailed her like. You know good content on her part man man. She played us and well. So good by three three two two seven two dot blue berry dot com or whatever you were called and I can't wait to promote our new email address which is not as hard to type in the future. It's upright now. The the email is up right now. Still need to set up forwards and so for previous episodes. I want that. Gm to forward to our new. Or I might just make it the the new email address forwards to our g mail. I mean once on my phone yeah that was just easier because otherwise you just have to use another webmail clients but speaking of our new email address. Yeah I guess I didn't realize well we did take a break but we are at a certain time right now. I just WANNA bring a small concern. I have right now for our twitter account. This won't take long VIP discuss but it is something I need to address. We got a follow from a certain individual. Oh can I guess why? No I won't I can't be because I don't WanNa bring attention but I thought it was a normal person because I didn't look into it and I followed back and then we got a DM Ono said. Hey thanks for following back if you WANNA buy my juicy picks and I didn't respond of course because the League wasn't only fans account I will put that out. Yeah apparently it's not just for adult materials. What I've been told but this seemed like it would be explicit nature news to me I know and I thought nothing of it. We did not follow her. Felt out of an rude is. Is this understood what she was. It was a misunderstanding but it was not her fault so the door open. Keep the door open then. Someone else followed us and I read the Bio this time because I was aware and in the bio it says by my xxx picks John. We follow them into a little bit of a weird cycle. Only fans girls are following us. I think what you mean is that we have found. Our demographics are demographic is is i? Don't want to call them eagles because I know the meaning of that. It's a different thing. They're just people who happen to have only fans only fans also a fair amount of people who are turning up maybe not fake content but misleading contact Yeah I don't know they might be robots with only fans account. They might be real on the way to no. It's not important but I just read their tweets. If they seem to have like humid Iraq. This could be a fake person. Yeah you can even explain. Okay my mind if I built an audience to the point where I haven't only fans account. Yeah I'm not on twitter following random. Podcast I've kind of sitting back working on content to bring in New People. Yeah I'm not doing the follow. Follow back game you know. We're a terminally caught in. Because we'RE NOT FAMOUS ZIP. That brings a whole New Light to the situation. But if you look in my limited experience people who tend to have only fans and be real. People don't tend to lead with the only fan. Yeah right they do other stuff. Yeah I mean like hey check out my only fans if you will want look. It's not really not even that for the most part just in their bio so these people might not be legitimate follows but whatever they might be. The Hustle is the hassles real. Yeah fans exists for reason and I never want to demean anyone who has an Oldie fans or engages in any kind of similar work. Yeah well you know. Definitely not that. I'm not talking. That was the point of bringing this up. Yeah I'm just saying going forward I might say something. That sounds insensitive so I want to be very clear again. I in nothing I say. Do I WANT TO DEMEAN PEOPLE? Who are working in real. People actual human being not trying to take advantage of the marketplace in the nature of that marketplace. Absolutely one hundred percent you. Yeah and that's great. Do working together. Yeah we're a podcast so we can't I mean or over there are only fans be. That's a fun Rambus. Only we've never shown our faces. Yes we've never really linked. I mean I've late my real stuff to the podcast and stuff so I I am one hundred percent findable to the podcast but you are so like it. Couldn't be personal stuff over your only fans be it would probably be all the stuff that's already on my only fans. I just reposted why. I think that might be against in terms of service. That might be well. If you want to follow me only fans fifteen dollars for one hundred pictures. I also have a premium snapchat. If you're into that so hitting up cash APP sign Jon from zero credits. It's kind of funny. How you know the those hotlines like I okay by my having trouble saying it though sex hotlines from the TV on sex line when we were inflamed cheat night when we were kids and we supposed to watch TV. It's funny how that's evolved into premium set chats. That's the same thing right kind of I mean the equivalent phone. Sex Was it was gross. It was Kinda funny cosmetically because it's basically just a call center where people pretend that sex with you. Yeah but dances or previous. Now I must say only fans and appreciative snapchat is like you know. This is for you heart. And then but it's to all of the people who were following so typically having A. I have no experience in this. I WANNA make disclaimer. Because my wife listen to this. I also have no experience. This I have no idea. Totally this gaps context close from what I understand for premium snapchat. A premium snapchat is not they send it to you directly access to like their story. Let's THEIRSELVES LISTEN AT MESSAGES. Like this one's for you but like just period Met with some of your previous snapchat. You like the thing that a premium snapchat and why I think that like sex work is in a much more robust place now than it has been in the past like if you have access to someone's only fans are previous snapchat. "Consider it what you can't do in club paying wanted because shutdown recipes club Do you think we could get club? Penguin Dot net. I think whoever owned it still looms shit. Yeah well so yeah that that's sort of maybe like mood. Lighting purples auto website. Well yeah because we're talking about a website but I was thinking more on Sixth Street. Okay but a physical no no. This is the website so if we could position the website somewhere downtown honest and six three. Okay what do you mean? This is question. I never imagined I would ask to oppress. But what do you mean by position? You know like on the web okay like a site has to be somewhere in your in your estimate. Is there a web version? Sixth Street I feel like okay? So the Web's the Internet if you will It was created by humans. Right okay and humans can only create what they know the West. The web is laid out as a complete ready as we know. People can only write books about experiences. They've had no right what you know. Yeah and so. I think what you know by. The way is not advice. It is actually an axiomatic rule of existence. It is that you can only write what you it's the first law of writing off the first rule of law violate at talking. You will come after you anyway. So humans can oak tree what they know and so the Internet is laid out as a one for one scale replica of the Earth. Okay that's Google maps. I gotcha I gotcha. Maps is a map of the Internet. Yeah of course all the click through Google maps and like if you see like an appetizing learning not loadings landing page you. Click on it boom. You're in the sexy cool. Get Drake with your friends on like a Saturday night. You know. Maybe we'll get like some cool bands mocal cool bands. It's a real killers. Cover band that we could just like. Have like yeah. You know like most farmers. Let's just namedrop some local bands? We could get shy. Beast in their midnight archives we could get Lo Mein there we could get a bunch of really cool local bands. Yeah Kyle Fuck. What's his last name mclachlan? He's okay you checks all the time. Anyway what about a local bands? Scroll Ix yes you know. A classic local acts like Scroll Ix I like it through some stuff about the mood. Board all right. Yeah I mean that's my half. Yeah as we discussed. We had notes. We've done us. That's my welcome notes as well. My half of the mood board is like a cool sexy. You know if you want to like I guess a real world equivalent and you want to reduce it to that and I'm being really condescending here of this whole condescending like attitude and Persona uh-huh you could call it a air quote bar if you that's really what you WanNa do but that. That's the gist of my presentation. Okay Yeah so physical location where people both are and are not what I want. I know that we said like Pie. In the sky. No Room for pessimism. We don't want to be realistic. We WanNA said big goals and want to crush them Elliott. I think it could be like a wordpress site. That would have a series of almost like sequential blog posts with links to our episodes. Potentially fingers crossed. Maybe merchandise eventually a short descriptions may be links to other podcasts. That love us. I you're putting down and I I do have a few notes. I at one hundred percent agree about the merchandise. That's going to be the liquor the beer and of course the t shirts for the the website that says I got drunk on six three zero credits website at this point. Do you believe that the name of our website zero grades? I kind of I haven't stuck in my head that it's called six three zero credits website. Where one can get cool sexy drinks and a shirt okay? Cool cool Spider okay so the merchandise physical shirts his ical liquor and beer tales with like a specialty one specialty cocteau per night. What you're saying depending on the margins I guess maybe one thing's not clear to me is like wearing this. Does the PODCAST FIT in? That's a great question and I'm very happy you ask because every Tuesday night you know you gotTa have little weekly events to get people in this visit it the website so this quote Unquote Baugh insight. This quote website we. We're from the same album. Sorry sorry yes air. He didn't say Eric quotes. Do YOU CAN'T MIND. Air quotes on a podcast. You had to say air quote. This air quotes bar websites. Yes Which was created specifically because of the podcast right would feature the podcast as like a fun Zany. Act every Tuesday night. Well here's the thing. It's a live event that people would go to the website to see. It's like a Trivia night or an open mic night. But like it's the main draw. Yes that's on Tuesday night. Yeah so much like Trivia Vein drawn the reason why this quote unquote bar exists. Yeah and Tuesday is good. I've done some marketing. Research on this Tuesday's the biggest night of the week. That's your your two times. Tuesday pizzas domino's. That's your ten dollar pizzas at Papa. Murphy's pizza has a Tuesday deal so your research is entirely Tuesday based specials at mass market pizza chain set. I've done the research. Okay so in your mind. I just want to be totally clear. We would be a once weekly side show in this quote unquote bar which website that was created specifically because of the podcast and our direct market competition would be the various pizza sales. That happen at pizza restaurants. I mean we weren't allowed them to bring the pizzas to the bar. Okay so immediately stroke of business genius annihilating our competition. Yeah we just wear. They need that where they're going to get that. Peach Air Force bar gets a survey restaurant. Okay it's a website. Yeah but here's the thing John. We're going to be really busy so we were only going to have one night. The two two record I logically be pretty busy bar backing insight that backing because we're GONNA WE'RE GONNA have to look at the books. Make sure the margins are okay to manage all of the website. Tenders were like making the drinks. We gotta make sure the facilities are owned by the way real people right. We could like source them from our audience. You know okay you know. So here's another. Mark Lends a marketing research on twitch that TV. Popular streamers often recruit people from their chat to be moderators. Okay so we're going to get people who listen to us to be website tenders and serve drinks evo- we pay them what it's kind of on volunteer basis. Okay if they get some perks to get the free shirt that says I got drunk at zero credits website. Yeah uh-huh that's in comic sense of arsia. I get where you're coming from I feel like maybe. There's some kind of compromise here. There absolutely is so you envision this as a wordpress website. Yeah or maybe we'll have substantial blog post and hopefully fingers crossed. I believe we can do this featuring the Blue Berry player. Yeah Bill Daley. That would be a feature of our website about our podcast. Pretty sure we can do that. Because power press is this is some back around information. It's a wordpress plug it uh-huh I think we can integrate that with any website. Okay and that that's developed. Why Blueberry but I think we can use it because we're paying they're hosting okay. Anyway I feel like mine. Mine seems pretty doable. And I don't WanNa say yours doesn't well. This is where the compromise comes in a win. Win Situation. I feel like I've gotten a lot of pros and this compromise so far so pitch me on what you want. Here's the thing so in a win Win Situation. You gotTa have like your must hats. Yeah sounds like I don't WanNa put words in your mouth. Does partners at sounds like your must haves are at the end of the day. We had a wordpress website with some substantial a blog. Post with our episodes with a link are a player embedded in maybe links to other podcasts. At like us. And that's another my must. I'm a hundred percent on board with that So I that's great. My must haves are that we serve drinks to cool some sexy people and we we have bands common and comedy open mic comedy you've added on wasn't previously mentioned to your muster drink specials. Okay happy hour ladies night men night because you know twenty twenty about that equality non gender specific night for anyone who doesn't feel like it already at four. I think how many other so many nights you know this could be like rotate. We could have is going to happen on Tuesday. We have like poker scene places. Do that and like some people do like Harr stone gatherings like for the you know the more nerdy crowd who get bored gains at the tables matter website Yeah and I think all of these are must have for me okay. Also it's on Sixth Street in Austin Online. So I must have wordpress site with sequential blog posts embedded podcast episodes and links. And your must haves are everything you've previously mentioned are willing to budge. Okay I will give up open mic night. Both of them both there were two of one. What's comedy in? Malaysia was Collie one was just opened up in my slam poetry. They call it Karaoke and I that that actually is a really big draw okay. That's like a huge back in the must-have we'll see the thing is our direct competition pizza places. Yeah they often have Karaoke night. Saja so I feel like we would be servicing our website. If we didn't have Karaoke theon okay. Okay some websites do video streaming. And we don't have to do that at all. Okay no video stream okay so no video streaming keep Karaoke no open mic comedy Nano. 'cause we were supposed to be funny. Yeah that's the whole draw. Yeah and I think I can budge a little bit too. We don't have to have links to other podcast. What if they like us then? Yeah we'll do. I think like friend of the show. Kinda thing yeah I still am trying to get on. Certain radars yeah. Tcp and love for them to notice. So I think with with my wants being a relatively simple wordpress and yours. No big everything you wanted minus minus standup comedy and the other one. We'll stand up comedies. Still but not a comedy open mic. Yeah like if Kevin Hart came through. You'd probably give him fifteen he can do his type five. Okay this and the comedy circuit like you show up. Your famous known comedian. Like we can spare five minutes to an open mic. And you're famous. You get what you get usually pre- pretty lenient with the light. I feel like if they're professionals they would just have a tight five. Yeah for sure yeah professionals can get there and kill it no matter what Louis. Ck can show up to an open. Mind is so we do. Have one standing rule uh-huh if John Mullany ever comes he gets the entire night. Yeah he gets. The website gets the website he becomes John. Mullany dot spider. Okay your status. By the way now are everything you said minus standard kind plus if John Millennia resolve by. We all insane is. We just have a standing already printed out contract signing over relinquishing ownership. I've everything to him. In case he ever walks in like on a given day like if he just needs directions to like Soco or.

"Well hello there everybody. It's me Henry from zero credits. Flying Solo for the first time in a very very very long time Everyone welcome to not an episode of zero credits but our first less than zero. Wow that's not even words. Are I less than zero in over a year for those of you who are not familiar with less than zero's because if you started listening a recently or you skip those for some reason a less than zero is when John and I cannot be together to do an episode of zero credits So since together both John Ni- create zero credits. When there's not both of us here were less than zero credits or just less than zero. And that's the origin of the name. This week I've got some things to talk about One were to talk about how weird it is to a podcast by yourself when you're not a journalist for NPR to we're going to talk about. I don't know some billboard. I saw on the way to work today a three. We're going to discuss what it's like living in the time of the corona virus of four to the left of me. I have the results for Super Tuesday up and I'm going to be monitoring and checking that periodically throughout the recording To just report on what's happening. We're not going to get to all the states during this recording. It's about seven. Pm on Super Tuesday. On when I'm recording this what. I'm most interested in seeing how Texas goes since that's where we live and I just want to see if my vote did anything and five if there's time and you might WanNa pray that there's not I'm GonNa take a few quizzes on. Buzzfeed lied on live on Air. And we'll just see what happens there now if we don't get to five. I think that's fine because that's like bottom of the barrel of what I have planned today but I always. This episode is going to be brought to us today by. Shiner. I've got a variety three. Pack here There were three others but they've been drunken So we've got a variety through here from shiner there brewer here in Texas Kind of you know standard fare for Texas this either Vegan Bach Lonestar or shiner. Were to go and I've just got a bunch of different flavors here. I'm holding a wicked juicy. Ip a from spot sail brewery shiner Texas. And there's ZIP code included. I don't know why Every DROP OF SHINER. Shire is brewed in Shaif Shekar Texas. Now that's just that's just great. And why don't we just pop into this bad boy right? Now here's the hammer. Got It on the first try. Give a SIP as indeed in. Ip a The hoppy aftertaste is definitely there. But it's actually has a kind of a like it says a fruity front taste I guess juicy juicy front taste followed by kind of subtle. Ip A after-taste does actually not that bad and. I don't really like Id. As I don't know what to think of that. It's GonNa be really obvious when I'm taking a sip of this beer because normally how you do this on a podcast of two people is that you drink when the other one is talking in a that does two things one. It shut your mouth up so that the other person can talk into your listening because all you can do is listen because your mouth is busy absorbing those sweet sweet alcohol nutrients of the beer. That you're drinking at a fun little A fun little tip. I guess out there. If you are wanting to take the leap start your own podcast. Which why would you because the only podcast that exist? But if you're okay with drinking and you're okay with doing a podcast drink while whoever you're talking to is talking because you're gonNA listen and you're not gonNA interrupted because it'll be drinking alcohol these tips out later. Maybe I don't know we'll see how the flow of the conversation goes but that kind of leads us to number one our first topic. What's it like to do a podcast by yourself when you're not a journalist for NPR? And I bring that last part. Bring that last part up because I listened to s town last year without ever having listened to cereal or whatever else I don't know the lower behind NPR podcast or the journalists. I don't even remember the guy who did town But it's just very interesting going into the mindset that you're gonNA be into a microphone by yourself for a length of time with barely any plan and no research thing the back you up because that's what I that's the whole thing that's this whole week. That's that's what I've been facing sense We we announced live on air. The John Wasn't going to be here. l quick John But date by the way that's but update he did send me a message upon a landing in Chicago. That's not where he wanted a chance upon landing in Colorado. He sent me a message saying just simply without context. They touched my butt. And so I guess Sorry John's but for being touched by the TSA. It seems like he hasn't found the correct combination of shoes pants waist height to avoid that. It's weird that's a weird tall person problem that I never knew existed and that it's unfortunate anyway So yeah kind of freaking out about doing a podcast by myself for the first time in over a year. I think the last time we did less than zero's is when I first moved to Austin and we couldn't sync up exactly how to do the podcast over skype or John's schedule wasn't didn't allow And so we did a couple of less than zero's back to back as we as I got established hearing Austin and now our schedules lined up better. And so that's why I kinda had this little numbered plan to follow throughout the episode. Just TO GET MYSELF. Focus more so than anything else. I don't want this to be like a a rambling time where I just keep talking like I'm doing now. I WANNA be able to top the topic with some sort of plan. You guys can follow along. Kinda like giving a speech. Have you ever went to a speech class in high school or College? You want to leave a trail of breadcrumbs so that your audience can follow you from point to point. And they're like yeah now is the time where he's GonNa talk about the billboard. He told me that at the top and I'm following along. Whatever is what speech classes in my right folks If you if you notice that I chair off I'm looking at the The primary results call crawl in and I saw something I didn't like one percent of Texas is reporting right now at at seven fourteen. Pm and at the the little. Google thing says Joe Biden leads two hundred twenty eight delegates available and that makes me not happy Looks like right now? One percent reporting which this is. I don't understand how this works one percent of all of the precincts reporting but twenty six point two percent went to Biden twenty five point five percent Bernie Sanders. Twenty one point five percent with the Michael Bloomberg and eleven point eight percent went to Elizabeth Warren and then everybody else on the list has already dropped out. So that's unfortunate but A. Yeah so I don't get it. That's twenty six percent of the votes for one percent of that doesn't make any sense. That's a lot anyway. Apparently Joe Biden one Alabama already. Looks like Joe Biden leads in Massachusetts. We already know. Joe Biden apparently one North Carolina. He leads in Oklahoma. Michael Bloomberg leads in Tennessee Bernie Sanders one Vermont and Joe Biden One Virginia. So this seems like results. Senator coming in right now. I can't comment on them. Whatever so I was driving to work From lunch I come home during my lunch period to give me a break from work because work. I don't like and I spot this billboard and I'm GONNA have to describe it to you right now. This is where you go. Oh he did say he was going to talk a billboard. Here's the time he told me at the top and yeah so that so this billboard imagine if you will this a picturesque scene looks basically like a photograph and Just just there is a woman a wedding dress sitting down with what looks like a milkshake or some type of drink in her hand and outstretched from our point of view is a Tuxedo SLEEVED ARM HOLDING OUT. Fry to her. And there's a dog to the left of the lady in the background for some reason. I don't know why I I've noticed that detailed. But it's there and to the right the bottom right of this billboard like that's that's eighty percent of the billboard. Is this woman in a wedding dress. Drinking a milkshake or a soda. And a tuxedoed hand outstretched offering her a fry and in the very bottom ride almost obscured by some trees but that's neither here nor there It says finally some time for us and even further in the bottom right almost too small to see. There's a sonic logo like the restaurant with the people on the roller skates. Sonic and that's that's the whole billboard is is the thing that's the entire billboard But like in the narrative of this billboard. It is somebody's Wedding Day. And you always hear like Oh. We didn't even have time to eat the food that we paid so much money for. We didn't have time. We had to talk to all the guests and do all the dances and cut. The cake did not tiny the food. I'm starving hands my own wedding what I gotta do. And Sonic comes in. And they're like well. We have a restaurant where we serve food. But the thing about sonic. The restaurant is usually a stay in your car. You pull up your car. He hit the Little Red Button. Your order in your car and they bring the food to your car but in their billboard a woman and a wedding dress is sitting on one of their their unwashed metal benches outside with a dog behind her to the left and she is sitting in her wedding dress drinking a milkshake which is sticky and possibly could Mike. I don't know somehow spill onto the dress. I didn't look well enough to see if there was a lid on the cup that would make a difference and the Tuxedo man. The the the would be groom. The would be groom. Bridegroom of this. Whole fiasco is stretching out of FRY to wife in her wedding durance. Luckily it's not covered catch up which you know would be a whole other story but her hands are full of the milkshake. Like Shia both hands on the milkshake. She looks happy holding this milkshake. And he's offering a fry what she's going to take one hand off the milkshake. The take the FRY reach out. Because he's a million miles away due to the perspective of the photographer the photograph. He's GonNa Biller milkshake all the dress. And then she's going to stand up and realize that the metal bench has left a like a mark on dress. This is a disaster and my question is. Why did they get out of their car? And here's the thing. So when people drive away from their wedding. Usually the cards decorated all nice and funding of all. These just got married messages. We are all we got married and but yet you still usually drive away in a car at least in the weddings that I've been to and so you have a car. It's not like you're in a limo and the year like we just need some time to ourselves Mr Limo driver. Do you mind if we get out of this. Sonic it's not that you have your own car but you chose instead to get out of the car. Sit on the metal benching your wedding dress and eat fast food in your wedding dress in your Tuxedo before even getting to the hotel it does Sonic that good of food that you are willing to risk the restaurant at Mt. Willing to risk.

"Welcome back to zero down podcast in this episode we are going to talk about consumerism? This is what the inhales horita during the economic boom of the nineteen fifties and sixties. The Gross National Product grew by nearly fifty percent and over fifty percent percent of American families moved up into middle class status. This unprecedented and unparalleled growth led to government investment in the nation's infrastructure presto. Suddenly the needs of the people were met and the voice began to take center stage and increase in the disposable income. Men that the devil there was money to spend people started realizing that status unhappiness could be two products on a shelf with the wave both hiding income and the influence of advertising as well as marketing consumerism was born and has excluded in its cultural prevalent. A country that consumes goods and services in large quantities will be better off economically make elite. The rationale being that consumption of goods and services by individual consumers creates jobs for the workers and built for business owners will will boost innovation as no less creativity and ensure better standards of living given this background. How is consumerism perceived? In in today's world before the nineteen seventies the town came to be used to relate to efforts to support consumers interests but since the nineteen seventies people it began using the term consumerism to mean high levels of consumption today. The consumerism idea is perceived into contrasting. This one is the benevolent view of the consumer interests consumer protection and the power of the consumer it emphasizes on consumers having information of the products available in the marketplace giving the legal mechanisms to enable the participation in the marketplace and so on the other is of consumerism being selfish shallow destructive and exploitative active it is characterized as a negative force that leads people to needlessly consume more and more goods at the cost of their own and the planet's health how consumerism emerged has been debated for over a century many attribute the change to a growing middle class that embraced new the ideas about luxury consumption and the growing importance of fashion as a motivator for purchasing rather than necessarily others argue that consumerism was the political economic necessity for the production of capitalist cons of competition for markets and prophets stint others others point to rapid increase in technology productivity combined with the rising Consumer Joe that was based on consumer reduce house on a ship and it can be really down some possible factors that are behind spread of consumerism without a doubt two factors have played a key role in the development meant of consumerism in what came to be known as the age of imperialism many European nations a lot sections of previously unknown land which were the storehouse of raw-materials for these European countries and thus increase the rate of consumerism in several ways first the raw materials fed the industrial factories in in Europe and they used to create countless number of consumer goods that were then distributed throughout the world second. "Now return to the story so it's almost impossible to enjoy any of Tommy interrupt this article to bring you a sponsorship from our good friends at can't read it. It's like I know that there are words there. It's this weird thing anyway. So yeah back to the article. Act to the article So Great Hill partners services completely changed the way that Kotok who does business the editors of Kotoka Gizmodo and deadspin have taken upon themselves to write an article cull called a note to our readers and we want to interrupt this Present thing by just Stadi- one more time time that we are sponsored that we that we are sponsored that we are sponsored that we are we wait we are John who the fuck are we wait. WHO's John so back to the back to the article? So a note from the editor's note from the editors to their readers essentially say they had no say in the in the changing of these websites to be these very ad focus. Like everything about these types changed And they were saying that they had no say after grant hill partners took over. These changes took place pretty much immediately and the article that was initially linked was taken down not by any of the editors or publishers. At Kotok who were dead spinner Gizmodo. It was just mysteriously taken down so the somebody at this. This equity firm has the power to take down content seemingly or since everyone who works at a private equity firm is just an idiot they probably just hired someone then gave them the permissions to do it so they did that. And then the editors of Kotoka Gizmodo and deadspin continued to re post. This I'll go. They had locally dozens and dozens of every time. I'm being taken down sooner than the last one was and on my God. I it that it has escalated to a point where one of the writers for deadspin has been fired for not sticking to sports which is it's heavily? Assume that this grant hill partners is now becoming coming. e-rated on is now firing people for not toeing the line on filling the website with ads and it is a very grim. The situation there and the my assumption I think his name is I. I can't say his name name. I had his private cell phone number. A lot of people are messaging in contacting and calling the owner of Grant Hill partners. Who owns the Gizmodo Media Group to register their displeasure with this real piece of work while engineers say his name? Because I forgot it. Okay I think it was last pitch scape escape but does real piece of work and it's really ruining but I mean. I think that this is reasons. Why like the VOX media? Group strike worked. Yeah I like the Union had vox Henry. The Union Advice uh-huh collectively bargained to have greater rights and contracts over the things that they produce. I think that for a place like his motive media group something like like that is totally warranted like poly on. But ever since you know the the macaroni brothers left. I don't know there's there's a guy named Bryant Gilbert Gilbert Yeah. Brian David over. He's pretty cool. He's pretty cool. He's got another from Gil Pat. Patrick Yeah Yeah. All of them are good. Those are good but regardless of the quality of their content. What's happening at the Gizmodo media? Group is awful and regardless of anyone's content. or how we feel about the website It's good to fight for your work and your rights. It's good to fight for contracts. We live in a place. People exploit our excess labor. I feel like they're journalists. These people journalists that deadspin could talk. Who gives motor journalists and you were absolutely stepping the free a month the guarantee of free speech by doing that and so they might have like a civil suit on their hands are like an amendment constitutional Washington Journal suit on their hands? Maybe it's tough to say all I'm saying is in this matter and all others. I'm on the side that I've always been on on the side of ethics in Games Journalism Woes honestly ethics in journalism. We have looked the cultural landscape of not like that other thing when people said I have no word yet they actually met Misogyny I mean ethics games journalism in the real or percentage of those people who are actually about ethics in gains journalists have been heavily outweighed by the the former or the latter I paying attention to winter through that they were. I just WanNa say the cultural landscape of games. Journalism has shifted so much these days like we have seen entities like huge entities like the struck the way to an now Kotok who and I- crumble before or are is with these like paid reviews all these other scandals that come out these partnerships gains journalism is a mine field. That people have to navigate advocate. Because you have to navigate. We need to have a good working relationships with game publishers and developers but we also have to do right by our readers Chris to the to give like a really good like honest review of things and so it's minefield that we don't need outside outside parties coming in and filling in making things fucking unreadable like I feel like that's why giant bomb was created in the first place. Yeah because I. Dan was taking add money and like payments to promote certain games over others. I feel that's what the creative giant bomb create. Well you know. That's why they rebelled in for giant bomb. All I want to say how do we do that. How do we become Abbot? Become Polygon how do we had we become. We get taken over by private equity firm. No no no. That's could talk you. Oh yeah how do we become gains journalists. How do we get in the industry? I don't we do. Are you willing to accept no pay. I just want people to care about my opinion of the outer worlds. It is one of the best games of the past S. ten years. I have played and don't read too much into the fact that my favorite get one of my favorite games of all time has fallen the Vegas I am definitely biased. In my opinion should not count for much. Now my it's only we can't get into the pockets and we Shan't fire emblem free houses. This is the best fire emblem game of the past. Twenty Years Hade Review. I worry sometimes as to how games journalism gut so rotten auden when the journalism for movies and music does not appear to be that rotten. Yeah no no I get that. Because it's their parallels their creators talk 'n people who critique the creators but movies music and television shows like a barrier between them. Yeah whereas everyone everyone seems very much closer in the video game sphere and I. I don't know why that is in that something alling but definitely someone should research look at the no idea whether the level of entanglement exists but suffice to say against Journalists Games journalism doesn't exist anymore at dog might be because for the longest time gaming. Was Kinda like tabletop games where it's like. It's so niche. Sure it used to be cornered off. We were nerds talking about nerd stuff. Yeah and the nurse were making the Games in the NERDS. Were talking about the Games. And it's like this weird Sort of like we should uplift each other But then like business. People came into the game sphere activision becames. We're controlling trolling thing over like blizzard. EA became this controlling thing over by aware that got to the point is like yeah. We loved mass effect and we love the mass mass effect developers made anthem and that's great however anthem as a bad game. Yeah and then people at ea are like well you. It can't be buddy buddy where people digest anymore. They said our gang was bad and the people who made anthem republic. Arcane is bad you made it bad. But they're not allowed to say okay. Let's see I guess Gina's is we can't talk to them anymore. All of it falls out of the issues with this grant hill partners in the ads and the issues with journalism awesome as a whole particularly games. Journalism is that you do not write articles for content. You do not well. If you're a journalist you do write articles in good faith trying to enter into or supporter countermand a conversation however that is not what anyone invested money to interest in these organizations want they just want headlines. Yeah Dr Clicks to drive ad revenue because that is how they get their money period hearing period period period period once again the underlying issue of this problem. And I'll say this probably for for the billy of time on this podcast and probably get censured by the people sponsoring us is capital. The other seemed okay with that actually Anyway we're getting a thumbs up from from off Mike so I guess we're okay trashing on capitalism Eliza. That's that's the problem Well what a what a what a bummer. What what has been then there? It's very long October. So who is it. There's a ban long December kimber starting to believe maybe next year will be better. WHO's that no idea? Three doors down. Sure can crows counting on grows County grows has been law October. And I'm starting to believe maybe next October this next. What's between and we're back?.

"Yes the country ver- country of earth so still protesting to this dale. Wait what did you say I remember. Okay anyway someplace still protesting to the state. Add to that whatever I said. Chile okay. Chile Chile Coles or the country I I'm afraid to count alright. So just cirque Africa's are aware it is either the the concept of being kind of cold or the country of Chile. Impossible to say possible to say and I want to say one of the country. It's the names via blocked. Yeah so some protests are happening around the world I can at least say that shot a harsh and the fascinating thing in these protests as a weird symbol of. Don't know this is what I'm GonNa talk about. The Joker Kerr mask is appearing at these protests is like a symbol of what it might be a symbol of as what do you think it would be something as simple as being what the movie had it. Bay which is class war and representation now. That would be phenomenal phenomenal because that would imply that not only did people go see the movie but they got it but they understood what the movie was about. In a way that the media cannot admit actually happened Yes the media by the way unless you know where to look pretty pretty much does not acknowledge what job is about at all to a level. That's actually pretty funny filariases like this past week I still saw a An armchair twitter comedian make Joe. It's like all I just deleted scene from the joker movie and it was something like Oh. The joker asked out a INSTAGRAM model on twitter. She says no he's like suddenly. Suddenly I feel like shooting up shooting up. Some you know with guns or whatever that that was three weeks into the movie having been released GIS at which point. Everyone should know kind of what it's about. This twitter comedian was still doing the gamers rise up in cell white straight male kind of stereotype that the media did weeks before the movie came out. Yeah so like not only is twitter. COMEDIANS slow on the update but also slow on the fact that the movie has this. What what's phenomenal on? I forget it was. It was a person who works in healthcare specifically for I don't know how to say this word. Because my mind's flaking but mental illness yes and they praised it for what a good depiction of mental illnesses but also want a good depiction of win. There's no care for these patients. Yes the these people. People people afflicted did by mental illness. I was circling. I was doing Dr Raji. Yeah when there's no healthcare available for these people what can happen This who's a healthcare professional applauding. It certainly that's credentials that that's credence given to the depiction of a realistic thing in the movie. Yeah I know the this isn't like it's so interesting that I set this movie in the Zeitgeist because it isn't as I guess that's -solutely has entered by the cultural consciousness but there's so many facets of Nicole Condoms yes. This is Armchair Puerto Comedian. There's the the media now again. Healthcare professionals weighing in. And then we've got people who just saw the movie in liked it. Yeah and then bazaar last week also in its raw form. The staircase scene leaked to twitter with the week disgusted. That the rock and roll partout. Yeah Gary Glitter Gary Glitter Song like apparently the trailer overdubbed something now so yeah. The trailer does not show that moment. which is one hundred percent intentional? I believe yeah so that scene but Gary Glitter of staircases leapt on twitter in its entirety and the outcry started pouring in like. I can't believe they're getting this pedophile money. Even though he hasn't received royalties for thirty years and never will again. Of course people were in the threads the saying saying that and posting links to two things that said that. But there's a weird thing on twitter these days where whoever's making the outcry has the clout. Yeah Yeah and whoever's in the threads trying to sort of defend it seem like they're being defensive. Yeah you will. Even they're just Zeiss another just saying fact and I've seen it in ways I've seen it whereas I agree with the people in threads. I've seen it where I disagree with people in threads because sometimes you can kinda tell certain things like anyone is trying to argue percentages of crimes done by percentages of people I will automatically right right off. Yes and they're usually in the threads. Yes but it's like this weird thing or like yes. It's an artistic choice. Yes none of the royalties are going to get Gary Glitter. Yes they use that song because it is that song. Yeah and it's just over people's heads. Yup It's this weird thing all I want to say about joker mobias views. What's the deal protesters using it as a as a as authors mask that would be so cool I mean what if they get it? What did they do? What if and these are? These are countries Nam English speaking countries. Yeah what if what if this movie has a more like a meaningful lasting cultural impact than we imagined it would but in the positive yeah it in the in the class consciousness sense because because there was this really funny name that was posted to twitter. I it's been shared all over by think. It's very funny and very accurate in that. They said before the release of Joker jokers to make people shoot up a movie theater after the release of joker joker. There's a danger of gentrifying a staircase. Yeah Oh because tourists are flocking. Either staircase that's unlike Harlem or something And and some people are freaking out bill about all these tourists are coming gentrify. This the basin like. Yeah but they're shooting a movie theater like all you crazy outbreak culture people. Pop were GONNA DO I. It's amazing because I've never thought I would be here on the side of the joker movie never I didn't I'd WANNA WANNA nuts month. Well yeah because remember on before the movie came out. We vehemently said we're not going away. We're GONNA go see that that and then you set me out of the Blue Joker is actually really good. I think the word that I said was a work of staggering brilliant. That's what it was angering. Brilliant which I stand by and now we've learned certain facts like one of the more or artistic choices we liked was the interpretive dance or modern dance. That joker did yeah And we learned that that was an improvisation done by walking Phoenix. It's not a direct moral thing by Todd Phillips. Yes todd fell off Howard. And there's he's in the news and so now we can like more elements of the film without giving credit to Todd Phillips. Who wrote the script? Not Tab Phillips we can like the script. Yeah we we can we can like the script We can also say walking. Phoenix is good. We I WANNA live in a world where we can say jokers a good movie. Todd Phillip Still Sucks. I think we can live in that place. And he showed his true colors like in a world where he couldn't he couldn't say like. Oh I'm just pivoting away from comedies. Ladies he chose to say you can't make an account from the you can't make jokes in this woke culture. which is we have mentioned that three plus times three plus times not that I can remember specific details episode episode? Yeah but like that is such bullshit really is now anyway. So that's your. That's joker updates. Seems like maybe audiences who saw all the movie because the movie is it trying to hide much from you have you're the movie is very straightforward very presented in a very artistic nick and digestible. Way that you don't feel like you're being delivered a message but at the same time. Yup You are it. It's still a comic book movie. Even even let's talk comic books even at their most subversive. Let's say. A watchmen watchmen still delivers. Its message with the force of a ten ton on truck. Yeah it happens to be on the certain list of greatest novels of all time. Yeah and even then yes it. Absolutely Louis absolutely wears his emotions on the sleeves. Because I don't think in a visual medium like that you can stand to be coy with your message and I think that the joker falls from that tradition that it has a message an unusual different Presi message that is extremely important. Ordinance Twenty thousand nine hundred but in no way high term it. If you go see the movie the message is going to hit you over the head. Unless you're a member of the media class which el-oud lead openly derides which is probably why the media class refuses to see the message. You know what's great about joker. It's got that message. which I don't know this spoiler? The protagonist doesn't have much to do with that message of the protagonist has his own favor. Lang of states dates unequivocally that he's a political that he's not paying attention to what's happening yeah like he's got his own stuff going on. which absolutely has its own message attached to it? Yeah APP but then surrounding that it's like a more like a bigger message about class issues and stuff like that. Even his like ultimate Ultimate League dente Ma about his motivation nations for doing anything that he's done is unhinged doesn't make a lot of sense doesn't really relate to the story which is intentional because he's not tied to the movement but the movement is tied to him. I really wish this wasn't a DC comic book movie. I feel like it would be stronger. Probably take out the the moments. Take off the mask yes. I didn't joker set a best. When he said is that anyone can wear the bass you could wear the mask and then that saw a postal own sir play yard as part of the Joe area? I can't believe they give the guy royalties or white. What's wrong with post Malone? You know his hair so one quick update that I would like to give since we were talking about things by the way quick. Update from our sponsors. That's right This week we're being the sponsor by zero crew. ooh Is a little harder to see that than it was before. Everything's blurry when I look at that card. Yeah I think the something's wrong with their printer at I dunno just feels wrong when I look at it but yeah thank you are. They like a said like A. Is that like a bank. Thank you probably get credit thing like a like a bank credit union out okay. Now they're not fans of Credit Union. The cafe is hate grady. The Catholic is very much credit credit. I I love banks. So he'll everything they're very good very bad they give taketh away. I would like to give a quick update something that we haven't discussed before so it's not an update completely new topic your your light to introduce a new subject. I would like to introduce a new a new subject very quickly. It's not a lot of people are caring about but I do think that it is very important. Are you aware of Gizmodo Gizmodo. I believe there are Gizmodo. Were they a subsidiary of Gawker or something nothing I they probably Gawker was gone there could Taco thing. Wait they they detest books. No that's McGraw Hill Faith Hill. Oh the sing strice But Anyway Great Hill Partners has.

Oh Yeah Pathfinder really have Sony of rations John just shrug their ration. Yeah I was pretty hungry now. mm-hmm didn't help hope that ties you over so I wanted to give a quick update on this week's podcast. Even though our captors told me that I was is forbidden from discussing it. I'll take the heat on this one. Oh thank God I took the heat on you when you stole that rat. I was very hungry. Yeah so take the heat on this one so go give update and I'll just you know as the punishment comes out to try to stifle it. So as we've been saying on the the previous episodes of this podcast did for a quick union update. So there's a piece of union action happening right now. They don't like that Word Union so the UAW the United Auto Workers Union. I recently just finished there. Were some key concessions sessions made I think but the union really did they. They stuck to their guns. I think the strike is ending their returning his full-time employees. I'll keep you updated. That's the last time I heard anything but also the U the Chicago Teachers Union has has done some great collective bargaining bargaining and action They are fighting. There's a bunch of weird rules in Chicago. What unions can and can't strike for But they are extending their powers to try to secure some of the spending. The city had been doing on other projects instead directed towards the teachers. It's not your usual union issue where you're out of money and you necessarily want to change the allocation of resources. It's the city has a ton of money that is meant to go these schools so the Union is trying to make sure that it goes right needs to go. I did read a headline the other week. Were like ninety nine hundred one of those two metric system Teachers walked out in like Chicago schools. Shut shutdown yeah. There's like Oh that's amazing like I remember the episode of Hey Arnold growing up where there was a teachers strike and like I remember how it episode ended in applicable today. It'll think I never saw much arnold except hey football head. That's the name move the Arnold now joe. Yeah Very Bill. I think that The strikes used to be much more common when unions had more power But but now they. They are less prevalent. They shouldn't be also an totally unrelated news Pretty Credible poll from New Hampshire. Just this came out Bernie. Sanders is in the lead over Elizabeth. Warren and Joe Biden's pretty cool getting a note. We can talk about those but we absolutely absolutely need to put in. We need to say gang gang. We need to say gang gang. Apropos of nothing is say Yang Yang. I would've imagined captures would be more. Joe Biden fans Out they don't like photographs. You know you put the phonograph on the radio. The kids they come up to me and they asked me. What's the crime? Joe When I say listen to your corn path what is happening. There are moments in in the news where I hear a thing and I read. I read the article because it's so interesting that makes me think where. Where are we living? Are we living that a an eighty year old man. That's not even how old is can get on a debate stage and so you gotta put the photograph on for the kids. Yes they need to start listening to classical music in the womb. Apropos Oh of nothing. It's not a pro like not connected to an answer that has to be on the polls is he still I we live in my own was is not anymore going to this. Most recent New Hampshire poll God again. He's GRANDPA Biden. All of this is the mean power because Biden Bros. trending at the end of the Obama presidency all these funny pictures of Biden like in captions. That said he did funny do things. And that's all the cloudy has. Yeah the only float the as as a tangential related to Obama which we discussed our feelings about that off air we. We Shan't discuss again. Meanwhile we've got candidates trying to actually like they're introducing policy in like roadmaps to get the policy policy passed and there make the start. Leaking claims in no valid got substantial things backing up those claims and of course I now have to mention Yang Gang and freedom dividend. There's a new new buzzword in my head freedom dividend Yang Gang and. I'm now getting the prompted opted question. John what would you do twelve twelve. What's it with the three zero thousand? What would you do if announcer? That's awesome metric. What would you do if an extra twelve thousand one hundred twenty hundres? What would you do of Twelve K? An extra twelve K.. A year. The Democratic Name Colin National Convention is probably getting the DNC nomination. Here we go with the quote. Make sure that we bring in to help. The teachers deal with the problems that come from all the problems that come from home with one one school psychologist for every fifteen hundred kids in America today. It's crazy the teachers are. I'm married to a teacher by deceased wife is a teacher. They've every three problem coming to them. Make sure that every single child does in fact have three four and five year olds go to school not daycare. School social workers help parents deal with how to raise their children. It's not that they don't WanNa help. They don't know what to play the radio. Make sure the television. Excuse me make sure you have the record player on it tonight. The picture of the kids here words a kid coming from a very poor school a very poor background will hear four million fewer spoken by the time we we get there and I guess who that is you know so you have to guess who that is okay. How many guesses do I get it? Let's call it three three. Okay so that Castro now not Castro wait. You mean Fidel which dead which one young one of the young pope no not you under Gregor. I forget he called a record. Just you can't make up. Look it's not that I enjoy watching older white men meltdown down and like fiercely. Try Remember talking points on the spot and like doing a bad job at it honestly. If I wanted to see that I would listen to podcasts wrong so I got to elect US president so I don't WanNa see Joe Biden's president president. I can't comment on but I do have to mention apropos of nothing. I want to stress Apropos. Oh of nothing I have to. They're filling my head with nothing. More Gang Gang Gang Gang Gang Gang I Sherwood like that extra twelve year and my landlord would to put like a rule in there. I mean rent control. No like a federal like a federal rule all landlord federal red control to like all landlords. I can't do it suddenly like phone plans every like I don't know it's like but even then federal federal rent control is never going to happen. Oh not going to happen under I mean hold on. I need to be conscious of you. Receiving punishment for the things that I say latency agency to punish you for any good reason that time. I think there are just reminding you that it was happening anyway. Captors I love Andrew Yang. Please give me a freedom dividend. How they poked me? In the foot with a bayonet how did they find a bayonet I dunno just laying around. I guess that's pretty. It's pretty a very nice bayonet been antique Pawn Stars. I think we would be remiss my young John if I didn't give us another the October. Joker Update Oh a joke date now. A joker up date at your the joke corrupt date joker updates as you know your listeners. Who are still receiving these transmissions all the way from the mainland? We have talked about joker for an unprecedented amount of episodes consecutively. Maybe there are some in gaps there might there might be a gap or two. I want to stress has cleared as cleared. Eighty five million dollars at the box office. It is on track to be one of the I know. Sorry Devers rated R. movie to break a billion that's insane. "Together and talk about podcast. Type of time of watchmen. Finally what if. What if the here here? meow John. What if all of the game of thrones podcasts? Just sort of like kind of like struck out their names. Oh Yeah Oh yeah. They pivoted pivoted HBO's going to give us a new show. Eventually they tried to. We like Mice Principles Nitra some went to succession accession rightist gemstones and Fauria. But then 'cause all those are very diverse like in some are comedies and one is like a fully female experienced and so finally like the white nerdy male who was into the game of those like finally watchman something I can sink my teeth into finally something made by creative hacks based on nerd ship for White Eight people holy us. Like game of thrones luck insists. It's the same thing. Yeah it's the same exact thing I in my galaxy brain wiz the buffer. One moment that we should do a watchman. PODCAST I probably would be fertile ground for one second I thought that and then he did the search. I presume I did the search search so that's off the table that's down and there's there's lots podcast about everything that's why we have one podcast. That covers everything. That's why we have one podcasts. podcasts were literally nothing speaking podcast about nothing I think what's what casts. That's a valid bodies go. It's a really good way night impression.

"I haven't seen it because I was catching up on Bodak horsemen which is quickly has become my favorite show of all time. Now I have not caught up watchmen number one. We don't have. Hbo Go anymore now. Called off on it because I've been watching of course which is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows shows of all time so as we discussed I haven't watched it because we don't have. Hbo Go Anymore. What happened Oh and I have been caught up on it? Because I've been watching horsemen season. Season six is out right now and the other half is coming on January twenty twenty and the other the reason why we haven't I haven't seen is I feel like a any sequel to watchmen especially one starring cops kind of misses the fucking. Point about watchman watchmen which don't get me wrong. Everyone says that watchmen is a masterpiece. I think that it probably is. I'm not one of those people. Blue thinks that like all art is precious. But I do feel like a sequel. To watchmen is missing the fucking point. There is still superheroes in it. Because the whole point of watchmen was that superheroes shouldn't exist because their ciphers for for fascist ideals like superheroes are bad. The whole point of watchmen and almost anything Alamo rights as a superhero in has an unequivocal message of superheroes are bad. You do not want to be one I think a sequel to watch from the very but anyway hear my thoughts about the watchman sequel. So yeah yeah the IT debuted like two octobers ago and a lot of reviews came out people out standing ovations so some information came out like a lot of people know about the Tulsa bombings which absolutely Black Wall Street. You should look it up if you don't know it if you don't know about Black Wall Street look it up a great that that's on. TV grades it. That's the opening of it. Yes that's pretty pretty good I will. I'll give that of of course the weird thing about these These these creators these day- These these show runners riders tires of television. They can't just write their show and have it air. They have to go do interviews and talk about their work as the work orcas area where you're living in the dark time in art. I mean it's funny 'cause like I don't remember seeing fucking Larry David Talk about Seinfeld in an interviews interviews as it was happening. You didn't put him in front of a camera with like soft bocquet lighting in the background with him like. Oh well I think the motivations for Jerry in this scene where the when I was talking to Wayne Knight ways how he felt about it because for the most part writers. Don't WanNa fucking talk about their work. Like they want the work to stand on their own. So anyway. What's his name? Damon Lindelof Lehman bundled off was has given one of his His interviews and he said he was considering a cameo. Who is the guy who did American Horror Story Ryan Murphy Ryan Murphy? Yes you're absolutely right actually. So you're considering a Ryan Murphy Canio as the Creator of American hero story okay. That's a little on the nose which the thing is what you said earlier. Heroes aren't supposed to fucking exists. Yeah at also heroes. Were so reviled in Alan. Moore's comic book universes alternate a Nineteen Seventies. Take of America. superheroes were so reviled filed that there were no superhero comics. Yeah there were pirate comics. Yes he's got a serialized. Pirate comic. Through the issues of watchmen that carry through the tale about the the black something. Yeah I forget what I came freighter. Yeah the tales of the black freighter but the thing is in the universe humans were so reviled that like they were rejected from being popular in that world. So why in the fuck both the while the hell would you make a TV show about heroes and in a universe. Where here's a revile that makes no sense? That means you miss the point. What's awesome Andy? Says Adrian Vate Vite. Adrian Vite His whole plan. No spoilers for watchmen was to create an event that would bring humanity Mandy together and remove the need for heroes as they stand like. Yeah there's nothing about watchmen even from like its protagonist to its core or anti Guinness. That is pro superhero. And after the events of watchmen the idea is that the story died there. There is the final panel with like the okay. Roy Sucks Journal. End The end the the the dredge pile of that but I mean it wasn't offbeat newspaper. Yeah wasn't like mainstream and so like they could. There are multiple possibilities more left. It open opened. They could have published that story and nothing happened yes they could have published that story. I think that's what this this show oh it caught. Fire fire kept superheroes alive somewhat. Yeah I haven't said no obser- superheroes is apparently the thing. Well they're wearing masks. Okay masked up to do I who genuinely like and I think have good takes. A watchman have said good things about this pilot of this show. Yeah so I don't know I guess. I think you have to kind of do what I always do in like. Okay it's not connected. They called it watchmen. They should've called. What if watchmen or something like that but like it's not a continuation of more? Moore's work because more isn't attached to it and David Lindell Hof in and my honest and complete opinion is a hack fair but I mean that's not just based on loss it's also based Don Prometheus. He can run a different direction. You don't run in a straight line. Prometheus is not good head. Now my feelings on this are thus anyone can choose what they want four art you can choose to say it's a consideration or not candidate doesn't matter and confused Komo like art. Yeah but I'm saying let's saying the end. Sonar is alert but essentially. What I'm saying is like you can choose to say that this is not a continuation they should because what's Real and art to you what you choose to be real? That's the freedom and beauty of arch. The Fun thing about our in a lot of the stuff in the cultural zeitgeist be honest. Says this is something that we always sort of like circle back on. Perception is reality. Yes so if I perceive it to not be connected than it is not connected. It's yeah it's true. I was thinking. Since we haven't seen watchmen of all that we. I know we talked about doing this a lot. I talked about the Nerudo cavs. Were finally going to do it. We're GONNA rush all of narrative album the beginning. In honor of watchmen coming. Watch for now we are going going to after this podcast episode. I fully intend to start a podcast about this. HBO Watchmen Show. I feel like it's pretty fertile. Ground John Hold on wait. I'm getting a I'm getting a notification. Okay so there are a couple. Maybe watchmen podcasts. Popping up okay. So they're still watching watchmen by Vanity Fair But I mean that's like a big magazine with like bring a new take two. We do our okay. There's chat on. TV watchmen okay. That's why like a British thing so like we bring like an American in America there too who We do a watchman podcast by bold..

This might sound mehta guys but it's not i- ninety cent he came across this study on gender pricing which was published in two thousand fifteen by the new york city department of consumer affairs what they did basically was compared around eight hundred dollars which had occurred mid female version for more than ninety blinds and just to me the designs were astonishing you-know-what women end up paying more than men forty. Two percent ascended the danes so coming back to my supermarket expedience. This is what i found really strange. The men's diesel it was it on one eighty three degrees but the woman cities the exact copy of the menzies pushtu forty-nine cody not one percentile simply put pink dots is the additional cost of being females among the companies companies that you know why because they have a slightly different story to their companies go ahead and say that the cost corruption for the scene brought up is different for both genders in dom slate one process is more into good labor intensive than the other and if you come to think about it it does make some sense but only nine limited number of products so what about the plots should exactly the scene like the reason i saw it makes me pink. The is it outright discrimination. A movie actually have a market explanation the nation for this and honest this is the pain docs issue gets sticky. Oh this data it's usually seen as a kind of price discrimination which is a popular pricing strategy and it is not inherently new imagine i could be six hundred for some watch on my friend is only willing to pay around four hundred the watch company should go ahead and probably <unk> at four hundred so they can get eight hundred from both of us begging <unk> six hundred is naturally not a very profitable food decision to make since it is only going to fetch the company six hundred if the company could somehow price discriminate judge me six hundred and my frankford hundred the beginning a thousand bucks with just a huge profit margin vigne convince <unk>. Something's drives discrimination is also combined with product differentiation which essentially is about making slight. I changes to products for the different markets say making pink lucy for women and it doesn't really cost much going back to the point then what is the problem with bill deaths as we have seen market segmentation is not a problem. The basis of segmentation segment should be a handyman geography age income. I'm this is the problem with bats. Bats lies in the case of pink. Dad's market is segmented in the classic vanity of me and phoenix. You want to sell a bike to your kids. Don't sell a normal one with chandrika laws <unk> blue and another one with being but then is in the opposite sides of the stole flies them differently informed emeka proffered it just not only fustrating but also deadly successive in this flow of market segmentation gendered marketing has it seed brought up switch common black or maybe new packaging with boutique jennings and have a mosquito saying there don't masculine and adopted two woodsmen products with an explosion of thinking bob dylan does of clinto enjoy to saint that don't feminine and adopted towards women mcvay. This is not the end of it if e. z. You down on the issue. The main comfort is being expectations nations. You heard it right. Bing expectations is a dome for the different set of expectations people placed on women as compared to men and give you a very simple example in moscow. The jets scored for men is stuck cdl and by and large most sito's he does foot all intents and purposes got somewhat the same duty so there isn't much aspirational expectations of men as compared to women who have to make sure that josh shoes mika bad even needs <unk> from them because every other woman who who is coming for the oscars is dressing up in the similar win the argument therefore is that as long as bank expectations expectation's driven gendered marketing and price discrimination all supermarine and so it will <unk> to it being dad's cause sumin will constantly feel the need to conform to what is expected of kim and booby billing via premium price in order to attain that damion goods livin a journalist. Somebody's to this entire idea by seeing think about it this way. A <unk> made up role that society <unk> beating isn't that a treatise having said all of this pink dots has fallen teaching implications. The most concerning one is is that places women at a huge disadvantage when compared to men because it reduces the book chasing bod by by a least one thousand four hundred dollars per year and be levied on products which men will never have to put cheese suggests <unk> get items on another level it highlights cyst double standard hamas. How's that so the minsk lewis i'm would expensive compared to men and women cheese makeup which is exorbitantly the hype. Trust men on the other hand budgies garments which are not as expensive.
