"And then those lawyers that you mentioned those those so called prosecutors that were on the Mueller team. Belle don't go back on CNN, MSNBC talking about how they knew that this is an example of the corruption and that Trump is Protecting you so that you won't blow the whistle on you. You know that. We all know that all of that roars completely re suitable. This is all completely refuted, will the four prosecutors who resigned from my case and said that that the that they're sentencing recommendation of nine years had been rejected? It was rejected by the judge. The judge said it was excessive. She's one of them. So you can forget that these guys are not non political career line prosecutors, one of them Jonathan Kravitz, not crayfish. Kravitz was the deputy counsel to Barack Obama in the Obama White House. That's a political appointee. Aaron Zelinsky. He had a conflict of interest. His emails at the Clinton State Department were among the emails that were released by Wikileaks. He's up to his arse, as we say in Britain in the in the Benghazi cover up. So they all had a you know a extreme interest, but now they try to pass himself off as if they're just career bureaucrat, right? The charge that William Barr interfered in. My sentencing is false. They never withdrew the 7 to 9 year recommendation, even though it was deeply flawed. Howie. The federal guidelines held that I should get 18 months. They gave me 40. Show me where I gotta break. Where did I get a break? I know it's so rare Roger that a federal judge will deviate upwards from the guidelines. It's almost in my experience. It's almost always they go down. You know, I mean this this woman is she. She really had it in for you. She was appointed by Obama, Of course, and she I don't. I don't think this is gonna look well on, you know, on her permanent record in her obituary that she that she tried to throw you with jail for basically nothing. Well, if I can ever get to my appeal, I will prove or corruption. You shall no longer be a federal judge. But if I have to live that long to do so, uh and appeal is at least a year and probably a $1,000,000 in legal fees away. Ah, and the emergency motion was filed in good faith and just ignored. So look, I'm hoping that over the holiday weekend or sometime between now and the 14th the president in his wisdom Who has been supportive in his tweets since the day I was arrested. Who knows that I am a victim of a miscarriage of justice is words knows that I was caught up in a politically motivated witchhunt, the greatest hoax in American history. His words I'm hoping that in an act of mercy, injustice, he will allow me to fight on words. Have you spoken to him probably politically untenable. Commutation of sentence works for me and will give me a chance to live. Which is the key thing. Have you spoken to him? I have not spoken the president directly or indirectly. We have mutual friends, but it's abundantly clear from his Twitter feed. He's watching the situation very, very closely, and he knows that I have committed no real crime. I'm a victim. Here is the best part how they didn't open the investigation into me until three months after they knew there was no collusion between the Russian state. Anyone who studied the case knows it was a total frame up. Roger. If people want to read up on the case, or, you know, contribute to your legal defense fund. What's the Web address? They can go to. Stone defense fund dot com. Stone defense fund dot com. In the short term, I have to pay for the emergency motion. Last week, the judge rejected My lawyer did it on the come because the till was empty on and I have to raise the money for an ongoing appeal, which I will win. If I know other basis. Roger Stone was treated differently because of politics. Attorney General Bill Bars direction, the Justice Department moved to drop the charge that Michael Flynn lied to FBI agents. It. Flynn admitted he did it. Burisma: US firm says Russia hacked company at heart of Trump impeachment

"Of president trump's upcoming impeachment trial says it's been hacked by Russian spies charisma that's the company were hunter Biden served on the board as you recall they were a major player in this impeachment hearing that we all listen to right here on comma when it happened covering this for The Washington Post is national security reporter Ellen Nakashima who joins us on come on news good afternoon hi good to be with you when did this hack of charisma happened did happen to coincide with the impeachment hearings here it began last November which was about the same time that the Congress was doing it in the impeachment enquiring into the president trump and whether he pieces office by seeking a pressure Ukrainian president the land speed into the opening investigations into Joe Biden hunter Biden why verismo because I imagine you know a lot of folks would have liked to see whatever you know they were sending to each other at the time that hunter Biden was there or that president trump may have been communicating with Mr Zelinsky what does this say about Russian motivation so Bruce is a natural gas company in Ukraine that had been under investigation for corruption for a while but in this case the the hunter Biden who Joe Biden's son had been on the board of charisma and at the time when fight boys prison by then when you were still in office he was the point man for the Obama administration on Ukraine issues and he had been pressuring the along with other western allies and the Europeans pressuring the Ukrainian government to clean up corruption intend to root out either corrupt actors including in the prosecutor I was looking at corruption charisma and so he would you prefer that prosecutor to resign leader on president trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani suggested that at that moment that moves are pressuring was was a way to to give his son hunter an advantage and of course president trump wanted to have this information to come out publicly because it would tend to put a a potential twenty twenty opponent in a negative light now is also part of the larger narrative that president trump has been promoting our suggesting is his true which is unfounded in fact that Ukraine not Russia was interfering in the twenty sixteen election in the presidential election yeah the bridge was caught up in a whole yeah okay and so the best hacker wouldn't have left a trace behind how did it come to light that was Russia that hacked into whatever information charisma has well the Russian military spy agency to cheer you has been very active in in in hacking a hero in fact they were hacking the Democratic Party servers in twenty sixteen and then hopefully we can Clinton campaign chairman his email G. email that all came out in in twenty sixteen and the US intelligence agencies concluded that this was done this is part of the concerted effort by the Russian government to to to try to give cannot then candidate trump a hand in in the election and undermine the campaign of Hillary Clinton in in twenty sixteen this spy agency this year you an attacker's now looks like they're active again in the in the twenty twenty campaign and this time they said that their site on company Bristol which they think might have incriminating or embarrassing emails from hunter Biden perhaps that might tend to buttress or vans the argument that trump and usually only have been making about corruption of course we do not know whether these hackers have actually obtained anything of use and whether it so they're going to release it all we know is that the did target in place of a resume the evidently were successful in in getting into their email accounts according to a cyber security company called area one security our list of what they did or didn't find certainly a fascinating fold in all of

"Length testified that he told the president so when his adviser Andre your mark that he fought he couldn't remember for sure he he amended and revised his testimony at this point after hearing from bill Taylor in your mother some of the others he fought he presumed that trump wanted Zelinsky to make a public announcement about investigating verismo before he trump would release the aid Sunderland then told the bill Taylor and others that yes he had told your mark that so then this gets passed around Sunderland therefore becomes the source for the story that trump demanded a quid pro quo and it why is it in exchange for his Lynskey are non saying the investigation into Borisova not starting it not doing it Josh announcing it these people claim trump even here one of the investigation actually happened he just wanted then and now he wanted the announcement from Ukraine that day finally we're gonna be looking into verismo and hunter Biden and Joe Biden well this is all blown up because time magazine went and talked Joe I'm great your mock you're my can is a Lansky's adviser and he's the guy that song one thinks he said that this guy I thought my I think trump wanted Zelinsky to make a public announcement he wasn't sure he presume so your mark told time magazine that sounds like never told them that in fact I'm sorry your mark says the two of them never even spoke except for a few innocuous remarks EM passing they never head any kind of a private conversation ever your marks and we bumped into each other in the hallway next to the escalators I was walking out and I remember everything's fine with my memory I don't have a memory problem we talked about how well the meeting went and that's it he didn't tell me one thing about trump wanting an investigation demanding an investigation withholding aid not a thing and time magazine has to admit these comments cast doubt on an important moment in the impeachment inquires reconstruction of events specifically the only known point at which an American official directly track tells the Ukrainians about the link between US aid and the announcement of specific investigations but it does more than cast doubt it blows the entire case against trump out of the water is this was it Gordon Sunderland testifying that he fought trump wanted Zelinsky to make a public announcement sign one Amanda this test of now we'll get into what's going on assignment here in a minute what song London testified after re amended his testimony that he thought he didn't even say what certitude he told that your mark that he bought trump wanted Zelinsky to make a public about he presumed it based on other things have you heard but he did not wait for a fact your markets come along and said he didn't even tell me that we never had a meeting we ran into each other coming off of an elevator he never said a word to me about anything to do with a meeting with with with add an investigation and time magazine knows this is bad this this is very bad these comments cast doubt on an important moment in the impeachment inquires reconstruction is one other thing about psalm one Sunderland he did not put this number had a twenty page opening statement he did not put what I'm gonna tell you in his opening statement came out in questioning he said the the president said to him when asked Sam was a what do you want what do you want everybody was given what do you want trump said I don't want anything I don't want a quid pro quo I don't want anything I just want so let's get to do the right thing what he said he was going to do all right there direct testimony recital no quid pro quo trouble openly said he didn't want a quid pro quo it's been a it's been ignored it's been swept out of a record and instead what they kept in the record was somnolence testimony that he thought trump wanted a public announcement from the lens he investigating by them in exchange for aid flowing well now so is his number one aid your mark says we never talked about it some will never said this to me so the Republicans today at the mark up of the articles in future hearing kept harping on this as literally taking the bottom out of their case this literally blows up the entire impeachment case we have a primary a does a landscape saying no nobody ever talk to us about demanding a public announcement of an investigation in exchange for aid it never happened sama didn't say a word Sunderland and that testimony is why these articles of impeachment existence all the Democrats have ever had so now the question becomes what does someone think he was doing them he did testify altered his testimony to try that he had told your mock that he thought he presumed and by the way he never said was certain to that he presumed Tromp wanted Zelinsky to make a public announcement about investigating charisma before he would release a just assume that because of the other things he was hearing again your marks at not you never said a word not not that that didn't happen if that didn't happen then there is literally no basis for this impeachment so now we have to start as well what what the hell someone doing here so I'm going to trump him pick guy now we know that samba one's wife was being her businesses are being boycotted she's real estate hotels in Oregon she was being boycotted she was being bullied at one of the boycott movements being led by a Democrat member of Congress name run our brown hours some something our we also have subsequently heard reports that three women have accused Tom of sexual harassment in the European Union office of the occupied so why in the world one song one on man to his testimony after others and testify so yeah well I just thought I thought trump was demanding an investigation in exchange for aid when the guy he said it too is now openly denying that it ever happened Hey I'm the in time magazine now someone didn't testify about talking with this aid until he revised his testimony after bill Taylor said that he had told the Lansky's eight about the link if someone might be just been shooting off his mouth to impress Taylor and he didn't want to admit it or it was because of his wife being pressured whatever it is the bottom line is the Democrats have relied here on a witness who is shaky at best and cannot be verified it is original statements so this came up numerous times today this brought up by Republicans in nice so what are we doing here I mean this is your whole case and nobody hears even talking about it finally the round mound of the gavel decided to weigh in on it and here he is Jerry Nadler we did we heard that the Democrats are accusing president salen skin Mr year America of lying because Mister so as he said the president's choice he said he wasn't pressured well of course he said he wasn't pressured the United States is a powerful nation on which his nation is dependent he has a gun to his head the gun is the fact that the president the United States upon whom he depends for military aid you can accredited that tonight without any is versions of his character but simply on the fact that the president added states hold a gun to his head so we're just going to not believe Armonk and we're not gonna believes the landscape because it is their ally in two and there are a lot higher in because they're afraid of the Bali Donald Trump is got a loaded gun pointed at their heads so here is testimony here is there is a witness thinking before time the journalist story so forth your mind denying all of this demo now we don't believe that we're not gonna but when they can't believe because another concert hall case we're not going to believe that these people are lying because you realize what not only are the Democrats trying to destroy trump they're making a buffoon of this guy's a Lynskey there literally destroyed and this guy on the world stage are making him out to be a total of forty and a buffoon when in fact he has been elected in Ukraine to clean up that country to get rid of the kind of corruption that permitted people like Biden to show up and get prosecutors fired and the Democrats man it doesn't matter they will destroy any body or anything including the American electoral system if they have to and they have done that you talk about casting aspersions you go out talk your average Democrat voter and they will tell you that the twenty sixteen election wasn't fair that was raised in the twenty twenty election is already rich they will tell you that because they're Democrat leaders have convinced them have told them that if that's the case when it isn't anyway let me take a break here will come back and get started on the phones choosing.

This round of impeachment hearings is over. What did we learn, and what happens next?

"Let's start this weekend where it's been a whirlwind of political news on Capitol Hill our correspondent there bill Rakoff joins us bill you've been following the testimony over the last couple weeks from some people in the house intelligence committee impeachment inquiry what were some of the key moments over the last week I think certainly the key testimony came from even bass record and Simon who testified on Wednesday that although he wasn't told directly by the president it was his understanding talking to others that there was a quid pro quo in exchange for a meeting between president trump and the Ukraine president Zelinsky for an investigation into twenty sixteen and Burr is mine the elections and by extension the Biden family was there a quid pro quo as I testified previously with regard to the requested White House call and the White House meeting the answer is yes the other big testimony we heard from was on Thursday from doctor Fiona hill who testified that she came to realize that the US ambassador to the U. Mister Simon was on what she called a domestic political errand to pressure you crane to investigate president trump's political adversary she described a moment where she got rather heated with them he said that he was in charge of Ukraine on a civil who put you in charge bosses Sunderland's and he said the president when she realized and she told lawmakers is that they were on converging tracks that Fiona hill and her team were trying to pursue a national security policy with Ukraine while he was running this so called domestic personal errand what have we learned about Rudy Giuliani's role in all this from from the witnesses we've heard from Rudy Giuliani apparently with the white house's blessing was running this back channel diplomacy but it's hard to call it back channel because the president it seem wanted everybody to run everything through Rudy Giuliani remember two things here Rudy Giuliani is not in the government he is the president's personal attorney and while there's I guess nothing necessarily wrong with the president picking is man to run the show it was unusual Gordon Simon testified that he did not nor did any of his team want to work with Rudy Giuliani but they completely understood that it was the only way they had a chance to improve U. S. Ukraine relations by dealing with him what is the White House saying on this and how are Republicans spinning this so the White House is saying nothing hear nothing found I think we had a tremendous week with the hopes you know the great oaks she helps the Republicans are saying look you've gone through all these hearings and that talking about Adam Schiff in the Democrats and you have yet to produce anything that says president trump asked the Lynskey to do an investigation on the bidens on very small on the twenty sixteen elections in exchange for either a security eight or be a White House meeting everything that you have the Republicans are telling the Democrats is hearsay where do we go from here than bill so it's still quite possible that the intelligence committee could depose some more witnesses and might even have another public hearing we're not getting the indication that that's likely but it's always a possibility what they're going to do if there are no more witnesses is cobble all of this testimony together they're going to put it in a presentable package which they will give to the house Judiciary Committee it will then be up to Jerry Nadler and his committee to take all of that information and decide whether or not to refer articles of impeachment to the full house we are expecting that will happen sometime in early December the house then would have to debate it considerate and then take a full vote on whether or not there will be an impeachment trial it is the hope we're hearing from Democrats that they would get this done before the Christmas break which comes up on December twentieth if that's the case then look for a possible impeachment trial in the Senate come early January and in the Senate it could be a totally different story at as to how that plays out right it could be it could be a a a and we're already hearing rumblings behind the scenes that Senate Republicans are looking to conduct their own hearings it wouldn't be part of the impeachment process but they want to call the witnesses the Democrats would let the Republicans call they wanna call hunter Biden in to clear up this whole charisma thing they want to talk to other people they also say they would invite documents and request documents from the White House but it would be interesting if the White House decided to go along with Senate Republicans why they would do that and then what the explanation would be for not doing so with the house Democrats who were still being stymied from that information and of course don't forget the Senate is governed by re can sell if this does go to trial it would take a majority of the senators to go along with this and you know right now the count just isn't there for that and how successful throughout the Senate process to do you think Republicans will begin hearing from the whistleblower that effort is going to continue I think at some point there there will probably be an effort either in the house or in the Senate to get that whistle blower behind closed doors you'll remember some time ago that the whistle blowers lawyer did say that his client would be willing to meet with house investigators behind closed doors I don't know if that's still the case or not but Senate Republicans are making a push for that and it's quite possible that either before Christmas or maybe shortly thereafter we may find out a little bit more at least directly from the whistle blower whether we learn the identity or not is another story and bill shortly before Christmas you mention December twentieth that's also a key day for the budget yeah it's certainly as president trump signed a continuing resolution on Thursday that kicks the can down the road again this seems to be well what Congress is fairly good at but as you know these things also kind of boil down to the last minute at times so the big fear is you're juggling the impeachment process you're also concerned about passing a spending plan and whether or not oil and water somehow going to mix in this mess and great for some bad blood or even worse blood it's already in Congress it's there now but Nancy Pelosi has insisted that the house can legislate and investigate at the same time and this will be the ultimate test of that CBS news Capitol Hill correspondent bill Rakoff on the weekend around get

"Quid pro quo for arranging a White House visit for president Zelinsky then you also recounted your conversation with president trump where he says I want nothing no quid pro quo how do you reconcile these two statements they're hard to reconcile high we were working along Mr guiliani's direction for a period of time we still didn't have a White House meeting eight was now held up there were lots of reasons being given by various people as to why those weren't moving forward and I finally got exasperated by receiving ambassador Taylor's latest text and I just picked up the phone I got through the president I said what he wanted short are you aware of any specific conversations mayor Giuliani had with the president between your may twenty third conversation and September eleventh twenty nineteen I don't recall if if mayor Giuliani when I was directly talking to him either through a conference call or on the on a direct call whether he quoted from the president or set I just talked to the president most of the communications as I said went through Bastar Volker initially so I don't want to a pine on what may or may not have been said on page eleven is that your testimony you said Mr Giuliani had been communicating with Ukrainians without our knowledge I'm assuming you're believing your you Mister Volcker and ambassador Taylor which Ukrainians was Rudy Giuliani communicating with well I was specifically referring to this tax that I received from ambassador Volker where Mr Giuliani was apparently telling the Ukrainian something that frustrated ambassador short so so who specifically right we we we know that after that Sanko the old prosecutor and do you think Mr Lysenko has any gravitas within this Alinsky regime I don't know he was the old Attorney General and and also we got fired in August when the new and when the so yeah I'm group came in okay so we know Rudy Giuliani has met with Mister your mock on the fringes of meetings and I think it was Spain do you know any other Ukranian official within this Lynskey regime that mayor Giuliani was meeting I don't know what Mr Giuliani was meeting with had you had any conversations with Ukrainian officials within this Lynskey regime that came to you and said Hey I just got off the phone with Giuliani what the hell is he talking about I don't recall would that be normal what all your inner in all your interactions with ambassadors and heads of states and governments if there is some elements of the U. S. government date that they have spoken to isn't it usually is that but they come and talk to the ambassador try to clarify what that statement was is that is that a true characterization of how elements of diplomacy where I think that's a reasonable possibility things things work all kinds of different ways these days I when you met with presents a Lansky after the July twenty fifth phone calls you made on on July twenty six did the work investigations were Joe Biden come up in that meeting I don't recall Joe Biden coming up was there any frustration expressed to you by the phone call that happened the day before no as I testified everyone said it was a good call is in your opinion.

"I'll tell you but first impeachment hearing continue today in Washington the focus that phone call of course president trump had back in the spring with Ukraine's president Zelinsky we know that trump asked Zelinsky to investigate Joe Biden and his son and their business dealings in Ukraine the Democrats are saying that the president tried to bribe Zelinsky by withholding military money for Ukraine but the money ended up being sent Rachel Sutherland covering the hearing today Rachel I was sort of watching an off and on down to seem like there were any bombshells today it's mostly stuff that we have heard before marking the end with the the National Security Council staffer lieutenant colonel Alexander Veneman describing that he believes that this phone call the president had with the president was Cuba's improper because of the political connotations to that and also the other witness this morning is an aide to the vice president Jennifer Williams she had to have a room her lawyer stepped in and stopped her from answering some questions but he did say that she found the call to be unusual I would say that the bigger witness today has been colonel then and he has describe what he believed was this effort by the president's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and others in the administration at the time in the idea of pushing or at least in the meetings where there might have been investigations discuss now then when the word that the Democrats are using now is bribery they've switched to that instead of a quid pro quo it did did Veneman feel like there was a bridesmaid money's going to be withheld unless you investigate the bidens or did he go that far I didn't get the impression he wanted to go that far was been men on the call yeah okay he was on the call is so was William tested and they were all they're both on the call in and they both describe it as being something that was unusual and then into the proper I guess is difference though between unusual an improper in the call and criminal her yeah I would say and that's and that's one question that the Republicans had obviously I don't think these witnesses were pretty that you know they they wouldn't say whether they think this is illegal or they wouldn't speculate as to the president's intent what all this I think it will come down that specially if investor silence Marcin how draws the doctor really lays out so that he that he saw or participated in that look like a quid pro quo or as you mentioned that Democrats reason were bribery then it'll it'll but the question will be is an impeachable offense by the time we get to this it could be straight in the Iowa caucuses the New Hampshire primary and then the person out there in your neck of the woods and then what I mean I do you wait for the election or do you do you move forward yeah this could drag on into next year for sure Rachel thanks Rachel Sutherland on Capitol Hill on today's doings at the impeachment hearing which as I look up at the monitor is still going on right now on Capitol Hill six twenty three I'm mark garrison add on the chicken sandwich beat fried chicken sandwich is a really exploded in popularity since Popeye's came out with one people talking about them but now there's a new contender in town Juggalos fees here he went out to try a new chicken sandwich anywhere without me Joe I'm devastated I knew you would because I know no one likes or chicken better than it is so yeah we were talking today about this new little chicken joint that opened on freedom drive and next thing I know Joe called and said Hey I've got one up and I was in a quandary because the first impulses I should take a bunch of chicken sandwiches back that I went these aren't that cheap so this is what is it called again it's called bossy Bueller's bossy Beale is and it's owned by Jim noble who's a well known restaurant tour in town he owns roosters the king's kitchen and noble smoke and now this place now it is the antithesis of noble smoke if you haven't seen it yet is is on freedom it's a huge building that was once something else yeah the service tractor trailer truck yeah yeah JYJ parking lot next to it is the little place Donald was used to be a services I was reading teeny little place yeah and so that's why he's going to do the check and you talk to him about that yes it is this is.

S. embassy staff and kia of including the then ambassador Maria Yavanna **** were briefed on a meeting in which Lynskey sought advice on navigating his difficult position the Associated Press is reporting this according to two people with knowledge of those of briefings will somebody with knowledge of the Consumer Reports auto reliability rankings joins us now on the K. are all the news line Mike Quincy auto specialist at Consumer Reports Mike thanks for the time this is a nice mix of luxury and hybrid in large vehicles but what constitutes reliability the way you put the survey together well I it every year reporter asked its members about the problem that they've had with their vehicle over the last twelve months and we gathered four hundred twenty thousand vehicles in our latest survey expanding the model years from two thousand to twenty nineteen basically after members you know tells that any problems that you've had with your car over the last twelve months and months and that makes up a Consumer Reports reliability predictions all right now one of the things before we even get into the first second third in the bottom of the list all that Tesla's back in here what did they do to get back in the and they're getting recommended status I think what what's going to cry so right now is that a fairly old model line you might think all old that's not good well actually it is actually good when it comes to reliability because at this stage with with the Chrysler three hundred and the Dodge charger they've they've worked out any problems that they might have had after their initial launch so what we're finding in pigeon forge reliability surveys is that the older models like it what is represented the Chrysler lineup tend to be more reliable than the newly introduced models and Tess love rebounding to its three and its S. both getting recommended status I mean there's there's there is you know good news if you if you're looking at at and models from from Chrysler there's also you know kind of a mixed report from the rest of Detroit but but Chrysler certainly is highlight with the Dodge brand cracking into the top ten of the most reliable brands all right now Alexis number one but Toyota not number two this time took its place mark that actually has has as taking over that spot but but honestly you know any any any manufacturer that that makes it into the top ten is is is still pretty good so whether you've got you know Lexus Mazda Toyota or Lexus Toyota Mazda that that's still a you know a pretty consistent showing a Subaru also another Japanese make in the top ten what I I think with interesting in this year's survey is that the Korean makes that would be genesis Hyundai and kia also crack into the top ten now basically how have vehicles improved I know I was reading an article just the other day that you really don't with new vehicles have to warm them up in cold weather there just that's not the issue anymore like it used to be what are some of the other things that have chains of made vehicles cars trucks SUVs so much better than they used to be and the last longer what it ended and in this case it's certainly another another issue of good news bad news the good news is that your vehicles are much much safer than they've ever been we've seen we're data crash test data that shows vehicles equipped with poor collision warning automatic mercy breaking and blind spot warning I have a lower accident rate and that's good the the bad news is the vehicles are getting much more complex infotainment systems are the multi speed transmissions the complex engines are also kind of weighing heavily on consumers because they're tending to to be more problematic comedian Kollek tonics is one of the top couple spots that we've seen in Consumer Reports reliability survey Mike thank you very much my Quincy a Consumer Reports the auto specialist joining us on the K. are real the news line and it is ten twenty four check your money at KRLD stocks are slipping slightly as doubts about a China trade deal is weighing on sentiment it highlights the fragile nature of recent gains as negotiations dragged on equity investors have been focused on the status of trade talks for months now the reserve chairman Jay Powell met with president trump and treasury secretary Stephen Yushin today to discuss the economy marking another face to face it down this year the central bank said Powell did not discuss his.

"Our convenience. we don't care about your convenience. I was just reading here part of the Wall Street journal editorial yeah on the whole thing yesterday and let me just read a couple to censor Mr trump does ask for a favor that Ukraine look at the twenty sixteen election meddling quote I would like you to find out what happened with this whole situation with Ukraine they say crowd strike end of quote he says referring to the company that investigated the twenty sixteen hack of the Democratic National Committee he also goes after former special counsel Robert Muller no surprise there end notes that quote they say a lot of it started with Ukraine and of quote. Mr trump is clearly still sore about the attempt by the Hillary campaign to dig up foreign dirt on him and there's no but there's nothing wrong with asking a foreign head of state to investigate meddling in U. S. selections. only after that does Mr Zelinsky mention Mr trump's personal lawyer Rudy guiliani who had been publicly urging the Ukrainians to investigate Joe Biden and his son hunters activities in Ukraine. Mister Zielinski says he is quote hoping very much and of quote that the former New York mayor comes to Ukraine and promises at all quote investigations will be done openly and candidly end of quote. Mr trump response good quote good because I heard you had a prosecutor who was very good and he was shut down and that's really unfair. hi that's a quote after some praise for Mr guiliani Mr trump adds quote there's a lot of talk about Biden's son and that bite and stop the prosecution end of quote of corruption. in Ukraine Mr trump also says he intends to give Mister guiliani and Attorney General William Barr to call and yes it Mr silicic you work with them that's it. no quid pro quo the reference to the bidens are in the context of fighting corruption not a pre requisite for US aid. now Mr trump was unwise to mention Mr Biden but in the tenor but the tenor of the conversation is congenial and that's really amazing when you go through it it really is a friendly conversation right now I thought that was kind of mundane actually yeah very friendly it's amusing to hear the same critics who call Mr trump and fish bug on a daily basis now say this was all a subtle masterpiece of extortion. what is Mr trump ever subtle. Democrats are making much of Mr trump's reference at references to Attorney General our bar which were also important in the Biden context but the justice department says nothing came of it that Mr trump never asked Mr bar to make that call and Mister Barr never communicated with Ukraine or Mister guiliani about the Ukraine. Mr trump was certainly reckless and we've made this comment to use the former New York mayor as an anti corruption envoy or for anything else Rudy is an unguided missile and TV and can't be much better in private. wow me then I'm glad somebody else sees it the justice and state departments of plenty of people who can work with Ukraine on corruption now keep in mind that all of this came to public attention because of a leak about a whistle blower complaint from the intelligence bureaucracy. the accusation is that Mr trump somehow attempted to cover this up. but it looks on the evidence released Wednesday that the administration acted by the book the complaint went to the intelligence community inspector general who founded credible and deserving of submission to Congress under the whistleblower statute. but the director of national intelligence general counsel rightly sought legal counsel from the justice department office of legal counsel which has the authority on the executive branch legal obligations with the executive branch is legally obligated to do. the White House on Wednesday would released the office of legal counsel is legal opinion that the inspector general was wrong because Mr trump is not a member of the intelligence community and that a routine diplomatic called does not count as quote intelligence activity end of quote by the way nobody has attempted to debate that. meanwhile justice says it's criminal division has evaluated the inspector general's August referral that the phone conversation could be in violation of federal campaign finance law a justice department statement said the criminal division determine there was no violation and that's all reveling components of the department agreed with this legal conclusion in other words all the components of the department all the different aspects of the department and looked at it found that no campaign finance laws were broken were broken the I. G. will testify to Congress so we can compare his case to the justice department's. if Democrats want to pursue impeachment on this thin gruel then Americans should also consider the process by which this becomes a national political crisis first. a whistle blower who was still on identified. it was a complaint based on what he heard about a president's phone call. by the way the office of legal counsel Memel says. in passing that the inspector general's review acknowledges political bias I'm part of the complaint and in favor of a rival political candidates. then the inspector general makes the flawed legal argument that Congress must see the complaint. when his argument is rebutted word leaks to the press convert Congress Christ cobbling up and suddenly we are putting the country to another impeachment upheaval. is anyone else troubled that this is all it takes to impeach a president. if a bureaucrat who dislikes of president. can trigger a complaint based on hearsay that forces the disclosure of presidential diplomacy the conduct of foreign policy will be severely hampered democratic presidents will not be spared once Republicans figure out how this game works. Mr trump's refusal to abide by the normal guard rails a presidential decorum is often offensive. it can also be risky for himself and US interest we have often criticized him for that. but impeaching a president. is voting to one now an election. and that should require far more evidence than we have founder from this phone call. so there you go. that's just you know part and by the way we have covered all those but we've said that yesterday I mean how do we get to this point by hearsay you kidding me right then then you can make that case if the if the whistle blower is used which again it was used improperly here looking at the law was used improperly this is why we believe the whistle blowers identity should be known because he's not a whistleblower. right. then he decided to get in to jump into something with a political bent behind me that's yes this is something. if you decide to get into the arena if you want to be a part of it if you really believe something wrong was done here then you should have no problem coming forward. and being a witness right in front of all of America right we said and we said transparency now just like the Russian collusion got to the point we finally said fine transparency for everybody yep this is not to the point transparency for everybody transparency across the board transparency about the the as John Solomon everything the John Solomon his research for the hill dot com where he has said there's another article that he has today your order I'm just not today the the article that he had the other day that we we brought to you that said in wait a minute let's get real Democrats were the first to enlist Ukraine in the U. S. elections. and goes through all of the the the different points because earlier this month or in a bipartisan meeting in Kiev senator Chris Murphy Democrat of Connecticut delivered a pointed message to Ukrainians new president while choosing his words carefully he made it clear by his own account did you crane currently enjoyed bipartisan support for its USA but it could be jeopardized if the new presidential if the new president abided to request by president trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani to investigate past corruption allegations involving Americans including vice president Joe Biden's family Murphy boasted after the meeting that he told the new Ukrainian leader then USA was his country's most important asset and it would be viewed as election Medellin and disastrous for long term U. S. Ukraine relations to bend to the wishes of trump and Giuliani this implied message not require an interpreter for Zelinsky to understand investigate don't investigate. if you investigate the Ukraine dealings of Joe Biden's son hunter you jeopardize Democrats supports for future eight USA to Kiev and then it goes on and talks about not only that but it's a powerful reminder that since at least twenty sixteen Democrats repeatedly have exerted pressure on Ukraine a key US ally for buffering Russia to meddle in US politics and the and and elections and they go on and we we did this the other day of John Solomon vested in the Obama administration and their influence in the Ukraine when it came to the twenty sixteen election right so if you want to go down this path let's go down this path and we investigate everybody on it. yeah I'm I I say it that's the only way to handle this this is not some kind of small thing here just like with the molar investigation. if you take it seriously then there should be nothing but transparency along the way engine and just so you know as Solomon is reported and we did the store the other day so and and start and started on the narrative let's investigate everything forget about just Biden's son right the pressure began at least as early as January twenty sixteen when the Obama White House unexpectedly invited Ukraine's top prosecutors to Washington to discuss fighting corruption in the country the meeting promised us training turned out to be more of a pretext for the Obama administration to pressure Ukraine's prosecutors to drop an investigation into. the natural gas company that employed hunter Biden and to look for new evidence in that then Dorman criminal case against eventual trump campaign chairman Paul man a fort US officials kept talking about how important it was that all of our anti corruption efforts be United the former political officer for the Ukrainian embassy in Washington organize and attended the meetings Ukraine's chief anti corruption prosecutor told me that soon after he returned from the Washington meeting he saw evidence in Ukraine a political meddling in the U. S. selection that's when two top Ukrainian officials released secret evidence to the American media smearing Paul man a fort. the release of the evidence forced mana for to step down as trump's top campaign adviser. in court conducted last December that the release of the evidence I counted to an unlawful intervention invention in the U. S. selection by Kiev's government although the ruling has since been overturned on a technicality let's investigate all of that yep we're gonna go after trump let's look at the Obama administration to why because Joe Biden was a part of the Obama administration. and if that is true and John Solomon as we know the investigative reporter from the hill dot com I believe he's moving on next the this month he's going to have his own media company but formally with circuit dot com help break the story on.

"You're here you're obviously hearing me on the phone the phone line and that's because of the unprecedented. inability to use of the my machine on the road because. where I'm staying. does not have system internet access I've never I've never encountered this before and I my total policies to you this is the state first. what you can hear me and it's too important to a date for me and not to be with you so I continue now Mrs kalo see this is the Wall Street journal editorial. the acts of the trump presidency revealed this arable facts of the president's betrayal of his oath of office betrayal of our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections I don't know when Xtranormal also the integrity of elections. I don't know what I don't even know what she's referring to it is a trip back to the collusion. three of the last is taking over of the of what was once a Liberal Party. the there is no question that if we have access to every phone call okay be president we've ever had to every foreign leader we could find reasons for impeachment if this is a reason for impeachment. not to mention our our. why wasn't it reason for impeachment of a president Obama. that does that is vice president. ordered at the pain of a billion dollars this Dow was quick to quote you which stated you got six hours or you don't I'm leaving cheer that's the capital of Ukraine I'm leaving cheer. if you if you don't fire the special prosecutor. and the so it's at all on the H. show more three eight Matthew says the word. the guys gone the press laughs they're the pals of the Democrats they can do no wrong and and that's it why why wasn't that considered corrupt. the American people will be the ultimate judge and they will want to see evidence that warrants overturning an election that's one impeachment is it's the overturning of a lot of an election. they haven't yet seen the transcript of Mr trump's all call now we have I'm gonna read it to you later. which the president says he will release on Wednesday that's the Davises yesterday senatorial. they don't know the context of Mr trump's request to Mister Zelinsky and how much it related to overall US policy toward Ukraine. and they don't know the role access and motivation of the whistle blower. Mr trump's invitation to Mr Zelinsky to investigate Mr Biden. if that's what it was. show that bad judgment in our view Mr trump has no filter for separating the personal from the political no president should invite a foreigner to investigate domestic component especially a president who's opponent whose opponents sort foreign durch to defeat him in twenty sixteen but bad judgment it's not a crime. and the voters may demand more to annul election only months before they have a chance to render their own judgment about Mr trump's behavior. Mrs Pelosi's decision will please our political base in Congress and the country that is our political breaks in the country. but she is also a least a political battle whose outcome is uncertain one thing she will now have an obligation to fairness this should include an investigation into the actions of Mr Biden and his son in Ukraine whether Mr trump had a point beyond self interest in raising the issue with the new Ukrainian president who campaigned against corruption corruption around the world is big deal I've always. mention that to you that's the breaks that's the big preventer progress in most of the world. she will also need a commitment to accountability for the house. this means voting to authorize an official inquiry as Republicans did in nineteen ninety eight regarding Bill Clinton. hello she can't get away with merely declaring something official. about honoring the proper procedure in making the members declared themselves on the record. if she wants the constitutional privileges of the impeachment power she has to be accountable for final paragraph. Mrs Pelosi has often said that impeachment won't be credible with the public if it is in part partition. yet so far it is entirely partition Mr Biden proves that point by calling two states for Mr trump's impeachment if you resist the demands of Congress. perhaps can impeach on a partition vote and the flying high crimes and misdemeanors as it wishes. but impeachment is ultimately political. and the voters will decide in twenty twenty if impeachment is what they voted for and twenty eighteen and over to the last but where the congressional election bell. that's that's the way it works. that gentleman I can go back on the the regular. this is a. coming to place you hear me now on the air are we good. but I am male broadcasting. Amir with Mitchell good. okay great. that that was the editorial my dear friends in the Wall Street journal. and it is a powerful one Wall Street journal is a moderate Republican voice moderate conservative voice. and they they would be more than the open to saying you know this is really worth it Nancy.
