"In religion which speaks speaks has road we still have a nineteen mouse here which are living here in the monastery and it's very nice combination of everything that far very special place. I guess wine has always been certainly. Historically the monasteries have been essential to preserving winemaking through the dark ages and then in later times too with close to annoy stiff. The foundation of the monastery was linked to wealthy benefactors. Leaving the monastery tracts of land and these are still some of your finest vineyards that are still in production today. Is that correct. That's that's right even as just a smart board so we actually do own seven hector's so more or less fifty nine curse of little bit more in the surrounding of the abbey which we did own already got a hundred years ago or which always has been property of the of the monastery because you have to imagine that when the time of Which was the beginning of the nineteenth century. "Now as we know his season hasn't gone the way that he's one of the two so far but that return to the podium a week and a half ago in the british. Ep was the perfect momentum. Builder for arrogant like silverstone. His last time here not too shabby at all with a win in race. One starting from tenth on the grid then he had a second place in race two after qualifying on the front row. How good he is at. Aragon us zouqi actually qualified. Well it's a rare feat for them. So suzuki was good all the way around here last year. Double podiums in both races. It's not a huge surprise. Considering aragones combination of fast and slow turns and very flowing corners where corner speed edge can both be huge benefit but remember they were also able to hold off the charge on that backstretch in those races as well and that was without the rear ride height device which is gonna make things a little bit easier for them versus the dukakis and the hondas of the world. So when you take a look at rennes in the context of what happened in silverstone where he was able to convert confidence in past success to current results. Well there's no reason to think that he's not gonna be able to do that again and arrogant where his successes have been bigger and even more recent so despite the results would absolutely consider alex. Rinse to be a contender in this race. And seeing as we were just talking about suzuki's double podiums in both races last year. It's no big surprise. Then that the next router. I wanna talk about also riding a suzuki prince's teammate. Show mirror He finished third. Im- both arrogant races last year and those were critical finishes in his championship. Run as well so we already has a little bit of confidence coming in. But then there silverstone up until the british gp mir have been thoroughly outpacing his teammate consistently running at or near the back of the podium. But he wasn't able to make those tires last as well as wins in the british. Gp and as a result was coming off a race where he was tied for his lowest finish of the season. Now that finish was only ninth but still he. Obviously if he wants to be in the championship run is going to have to get back on the podium and is gonna more importantly have to win racist. I think that seeing rans up game is going to motivate joanne to rebound and challenge for the top suzuki spot again. Not that miriam rinse. Don't get along or anything but your teammate. Always is your greatest motivation. So both zeki riders. Qualifying is going to be critical but especially for mere who starting spots have slowly slipped. He came out of the gate strong in syria at the head of the third row but now he's drifted back to eleventh to start the last round if he can turn that around and move. Those qualifying spots forward again within suzuki can absolutely go after another double podium performance in this race now with my final pick for the favorites i do have to put do khadi writer on the list now. I think it's important to point out that do coty haven't won emoji mo. Gp race at aragon since the series made its debut in two thousand ten. And yes that was with casey stone or who likely could have written a moped that day instill finished somewhere on the podium. But they had their fair share podiums over the past few seasons and they have to factory riders right now that are much better at going around corners them pretty much anyone. They've had since stone or and on top of that they have bikes. That are far more capable of tackling the multiple challenges of this track in. Not just that big backstretch. Don't get me wrong though. Of course they're gonna love that big backstretch if they happen to be leading the race but which to colorado do you go with here. That's the difficult question. At least as far as i'm concerned because it seems like it's every other round that bag nyo were jack miller look great but not both at the same time and now as johann zarco has started to be kind of inconsistent as well now as long as one of those three does well any trace while that puts them in better shape when it comes to the constructor standings as long as either back ni- or miller look really good. Well that can help them in the team championship but for the rider title. Somebody in that group is going to have to step up who. I'm not one hundred percent. Certain but jack miller for me has the most going for him as far as arrogant is concerned. He's got some momentum coming off of that great battle for the podium and silverstone even though he lost out any as a podium here as well he finished third back in two thousand nine hundred nineteen after another last lap battle for the podium. This swim with maverick daniela's that he did come out on top in. I know what it is about jack and last lap podium battles but he's really really into those things So i'm going with miller as the best bet into dukakis field and putting him on the favorite list but you could easily plug bagai into this slot as well and if you wanted to argue for zarko i would probably listen to you on that one too. But for me the difficulty rider that goes into favorites list this weekend. At aragon jack miller now that rounds out my favorites list. But those aren't the only riders. I'm going to be keeping my eye on this weekend. I'll by watchlist guys. Who i think have serious top. Ten potential move. They have a really good day they could open the door. The top five and maybe even sneak into a podium position in the first rider. I'm going to start off my watchlist with yup. Maverick venezuela's yeah there. We go now things get a little bit interesting and we have some fun. Yeah i know this is his first race with a new team. A new manufacturer a new engine layout the whole nine. Everything is.

"But i would say that his body position is more of a hybrid of past and present writers. He doesn't sit up quite as far as someone like colin edwards. Who was really for me. The last of the old school riders in terms of style. But i would compare him to like dany pedrosa especially early dani pedrosa in all sort of been speaks. He's got a little bit of that elbows flare going on there. He gets his chin right up over the windscreen and canada shoves his elbows out. It's very ben speeds like you know. Dami probably would've looked exactly the same way. Except he was too short to get his elbows out there too far And of course that style worked out pretty well for daily petrosa. So i would say it's still possible to be fast to mow. Gp without your shoulders dragging on the pavement. He certainly proof of that. A by lester wondered how hard it is for. Young riders to learn silverstone and the reason that violator brought that up is because of our discussion on the pre ratio where there are so many writers who really didn't have any or hardly any moto. Gp experience at silverstone because so many races have been cancelled over the past couple of years there. And i mean joe amir we talked about this on the pre ratio. His last race at silverstone last weekend was emoto three some that prompted him to wonder how well young riders learned to track like silverstone where they may be having seen it hardly at all and mapped it out in numbers and of course i love numbers And the numbers you posted are kind of interesting because there's a wide variety of results. Some of them not surprising that guys like mark and valentino danny petrosa dwell in their first ever ride around silverstone. Although i'm assuming that you may have just done entire british gp which means donnington as well before two thousand ten for a few of those guys because rossi and producer they rode their first british gp at donnington But there are fair amount of riders. They're more recent ones that did start their motor. Gb career at silverstone with middling or even bad results. And i think that would be characteristic of a lotta tracks. I think if you met that out for every track you would find a similar variety of some writers doing really well and some writers not so much. It's really far. More of a tossup for a motive gp writer their first time around especially when a motogp bike because it varies by rider and their method and some riders just seemed to get along better with some tracks and some have very unique way of learning a new track. The first time they get to it. I mean some of you may know that. Ben speeds for instance he used to look at attract map and then figure out. What kind of animal look like so phillip island for instance looked like a kitten lying on. Its back so then he would go out there and just visualize writings. motorcycle around. The giant kitten laguna seca. T. rex going wrong and so on and so forth all right. Those of you who've been around long enough to know exactly what i'm talking about but those who don't all you have to do is go to youtube and type in the ben speeds method and then enjoy by the way that's the second been speeds reference in like the last three minutes. Anyway all right. Let's get back to the race here. andreas asked a very simple question about the marc marquez. Where he martina incident which we didn't talk about too much on the post ratio. What would have happened. If that had been joined. Zarko that run into where. Hey martine instead of marquess. And i think that's a fair point because if that had been showing zarco with his history and his reputation absolutely bene- penalty in the end. But i do think that race direction absolutely would have announced to everybody that the incident was under review at the very minimum. But we talked about this the couple of weeks ago. I think it was the more famous the more successful. You are the more leeway. Get especially if you don't have that reputation that somebody likes arco has and that's not a knock against mark saying that he did something shady and got away with it. I mean he himself admitted after the race he messed up and he was way too fast into the corner. Not expecting that martin would be there some. It was a mistake. But if that is arco way more of a chance that there's some sort of response from the stewards at the very least to review. Maybe some sort of penalty in the next round. Which of course would have been this weekend at aragon as side note. Andreas also loved the fact that there were six manufacturers in the top six slots he says. Hey that's good stuff for the show and you're absolutely right. It is good for competition and it certainly makes things more fun for me to talk about for all of us to talk about when there are more riders capable of finishing at the front. Battling for a podium. Us biotech said that he was pretty sure. The petco bag is disappointing. Showing it silverstone was probably down to the tires. He got an alpha octane. Said the petco. One hundred percent agree posting link where he said that the retiree got was the compound he thought was best the soft but the particular tire he was issued by michelin was not good and the bike was sliding from him in the corners He then pointed to some other riders and other instances where the michelin's have been inconsistent saying that. That was the cause of jack. Miller's problems in austria and valentino rossi and silverstone also complained. Obviously the tires aren't all complete. Junk right i mean someone won the race and that someone believe had soft- software attire three guys finished on the podium and none of those guys were complaining about tire so michelin can make a tire. That's capable of performing well making it to the end of the race but that doesn't mean that consistency can be an issue here and the problem is that's an issue that's really hard to track down because if there are consistency problems. You really don't know about it until they happen until you're the one in a race and the tires just aren't working. The way they had the rest of the weekend michelin obviously is going to be a little bit defensive about this. There aren't necessarily going to admit that problems do exist and admit that there's a chance you could get a crap tire for the race but it is something to watch for the rest of the season and see if it does affect anybody else now. The good news is that michelin dibba respond. A few weeks back in austria. Remember when miguel olivera had those chunking problems and they were placed. That speck of tire didn't help me gal in that race i mean it was too late for him but at least they are responding. It just remains to be seen if these are isolated incidents or if it's something that's going to crop up again and that kind of prompted jose to say. Hey the solution here is simple modo. Gp just needs more than one tire manufacturer. Now for those who haven't been around a long time. It's been one manufacturer for a while. Can't remember exactly the two thousand twelve. I can't remember exactly how long it was before michelin was bridgestone. Before that tire wars man everything was open and to go back there a bit of a pandora's box now. I don't necessarily disagree. Because in addition to petco back ni- being upset after silverstone with the tires we've seen ktm struggle with the fronts. That are too soft. And you know i would think that valentine rossi would say things haven't been the same for him. Since the manufacturer switched from bridgestone is a single tire supplier to michelin now. The advantage of bringing back more tire manufacturers even just.

"He's just ten points away from a three race buffer right now it stands it like two races and podium. Margin right sean. Zarko is sixty nine back in third and the picco bag seventy out in fourth. So you've got sixty five sixty nine and seventy for all three of those riders mir sarko and bagai then jack miller. He needs a massive amount of help. Ease trailing by eighty eight points back in fifth but let's just focus on fabio compared to mir sarko and back night. Because you might think at this point. Yeah that's a big lead. But they're still a lot of races left to run and there are a lot of things could happen and it for two could change everything in the motogp championship race but as things stand right now when we start to do the math the picture starts to become a little bit more clear exactly where we are. There are six races. Left mir petco and zarko need to gain on average a little over eleven points per race. Every single race moore needs to gain eleven points on fabio quadra row from here to the end and he'll be one point ahead coming out of valencia. That means that if one of those guys only one. It can't work that all of them do this. But if one of those riders wins every single round from here on out and for the sake of argument. Let's pick the guy who's closest right now. So joanne mir who sixty five points back if he wins every single race from here to the end of the season then fabio can alternate between third and fourth finishing third and fourth every round. And he still wants the title so he doesn't even need the podium in every race and he can lock himself in no matter what. Joe amir does even if he goes out and wins every single race and that of course applies to the other riders as well but. I think that all of us can agree. That one of those riders is not going to go out and win all of the final six races right. So let's say that one of those guys averages a second place finish which would still be really good really hard to do well at that point because remember they need to make up a minimum of eleven points per race so if one of these writers averages a second place finish from here on out that means they'll be scoring on average twenty points per race. They need to gain eleven. So that means that all bobbio needs to do is score nine points per race from here on out. That's an average finish of seventh. And they can't catch him. So you see where i'm going with this now right. I'm and if any of those riders averages maybe third place result well then fabulous target number drops all the way down to eleventh so anywhere in the top ten in any race and he's completely safe so any of them could theoretically podium every race from here on out and needs to do is kind of be in in the middle of the top ten rider to win the title. But i think we all know. He's racing better right now than just an average top tim writer now. Of course all of this is assuming no. nfc for fob. it's also assuming d-fs for the other guys as well. So what i'm trying to say here is it's not over but it's gonna be really really tough with all those guys trailing by sixty five points or more with only six races left in the season. The chasers need quite a bit of help right now. From fabio kwacha. Ro so that's where the championship picture stands at this point. Now let's talk about the weekend as a whole and my take on the british. Gp imagine what a wild weekend on and off the track but not necessarily for the reasons you'd expect. I'd actually say that moto to offered the best racing of the day. Moto three was the most forgettable and mo- gp is the one that everybody is going to be talking about because of fabio because of appropriate both of them on track because of the championship battle. And of course because of the andrea co so buzz off the track in the garage. So i am definitely looking forward to some better scrapping at the front and aragon but as far as dramas concerned silverstone definitely provided in spades. That's my take on the british. Gp what did you think of. The race will leave your comments on facebook and write it and we'll talk about them on the full show later in the week long with the latest motor. Gp news a lot of discussion about andrea cosell. And of course a lot more. Although i will tell you guys that next weekend is a long weekend here in the united states and for the first time in like two years two plus years two and a half years. I'm going on vacation. It's kind of crazy Just for a couple of days but because of that. I anticipate that wednesday show is going to be a little bit shorter than normal and then i'm coming back on monday so i'm going to be scrambling to get the show done by wednesday. The preview aragon. I'm hopefully going to have the entire thing done. It may be one day late. We might get that show right before the press conference has happened. But i'll do my best. I just wanted to warn you in advance but one way or the other. We're gonna talk about andrea the video so this week and we're definitely gonna preview aragon next week So to which miss a single episode of the program but because schedule could be a little wonky in the next couple of days. "That's it however bush and chaney. I'm blair an everyone else. Decided to take their i of the ball and basically go and chase ino the imaginary weapons of mass destruction in iraq and as a result the iraq war zarko e who became the head of a guy there and up later when it became very big jihadist movement and long-term listeners will know we've talked about. This guys are coa. He was you know. He was the big daddy in iraq during the anti-american insurgency. They're exactly and he was a washed with cash. So in mid two thousand four he sent twenty five million dollars to the on and then a year later exactly in two thousand five. He sent another twenty five million dollars to the autobahn to basically establish them as a strong cohesive force again so they have money as a bedrock as a foundation for a bigger operation. So they use that money. So it's it's no surprise. Then that in two thousand six. The taliban were back on the march and the and they were they were beginning to really become a thorn in the side of the nato and u n backed forces there exactly so we wanted to relieve the pressure on him and iraq. So how better to do it done to support the taliban so they can give the americans bigger military had taken of johnston and the fifth. And i can tell you that now. The fifth reason is corruption at nation state can lost as long as there is a semblance of transparency honesty integrity but when there is corruption is so endemic so ino Intrusive into every aspect of life within the nation state then it will become like in a wooded termite that will basically an in cold so much decays of the whole structure will collapse. Biden said idiotically that there are three hundred thousand people seven in the afghan nami. The reality is because of corruption. There is only eighty thousand. The other two hundred and twenty thousand are fictitious names being put their on the payroll and their salaries are being collected by some commanders in order basis. No commanders inflate the number of the people who serve under the command in order to collect their salaries. That's the reality is that the americans presided over a rotten corpse called the afghan nation state. Well you know. I think the bonn agreement and the and the constitutional state-building process that emerged from. It really is to blame to some large extent from what i've read. That agreement was trying to reconstitute what had been a very strong centralized state before the soviet invasion with a strong executive based on patronage based on paying different military commanders in order to get their buy in. So you give ministry to this commander ministry to that commander but a very strong central state based on patronage to problems that opens up the doors to corruption. As you've just said if you've got to be paying off different clients to buy yourself some legitimacy. It's going to open the door to corruption of another problem. Was that old centralized state which was based on the pashtoon majority and was based in kabul. No longer worked in a country that after thirty years of war had seen a rise in the political autonomy of its regions. They were not so interested anymore. You know the use. Beck's the tadjiks of the southern pashtoons. Who were looking towards pakistan. All of these different places during the course of the soviet war in the in the civil war had had had to become more autonomous in order to fight those wars and so returning to a centralized strongly unitary executive kabul-based state was never gonna work and in fact has proved. It didn't work. The state's writ was not really running very widely. anyway was it was kind of a mirage. That's why they always used to say that I should have gone. He was the medical..

"Wouldn't blame yamaha. If they don't feel they can trust him to try to get good results especially not in the wake of the appropriate deal in that announcement. Because you know if maverick had gotten back on the almond finished dead last every race from here on out what difference would it. Really even make to maverick. I mean it's not going to affect whether he has a gig next season or not and you could make him look kind of bad not trying if it was provable that he wasn't trying but it probably doesn't care about that and that's all that really matters to him right now and on top of it. If he went out there and didn't try and finished very poorly he can just turn the whole thing around and blame it on yamaha blaming on the bike. He did that when he was happy with them so of course he would try to do that when he was unhappy with them and then they would feel compelled to defend themselves and then it just gets weird and uncomfortable the rest of the season and then on top of that yamaha gain the ability to start really testing parts for twenty twenty two on that second bike and yeah that luxury does come at the expense of the team championship or at least endangering their bid for the team championship. But that really would have hinged on maverick getting on the m one and getting consistent results consistently good results and that was kind of up in the air so it still may have been a bit of a gamble one way or the other even though as we talked about before of is that rides to his potential would've given yamaha a massively better shot at winning the team title and so in some ways. They're really writing that off but as we'll talk about here in a couple of minutes maybe they still have an answer to up their sleeve that they haven't played yet. I'm but still one way or the other. Even though maverick benefits on one side and yamaha certainly benefits on. There's this is still crazy to think about. I mean this is in a situation like joins zarko at ktm. There were no discernible results. It just wasn't working in both sides understood that and they decided the partways really more because ktm wanted to develop for the next year. It's not that they didn't want to be nice to zarko. I mean he would've stuck around and they would have him stick around till the end of the year had. They not had the new stuff that they wanted to develop for last season. But in this case this is a writer with a win and two podiums this season. He's six overall in points. And that's what the couple of terrible races and not only is he leaving a factory team that is leading the rider constructor and team championships right now but he may actually end up bracing for another factory team before the end of the year and again this is not like the johann zarco situation. Yes sarko wrote a honda at the end of that season. But it wasn't the same thing i mean. This is legitimately a guy who could have been an started out the year as a title contender dumping the best manufacturer. Statistically this season to go to the worst manufacturer this season. i mean. It's definitely not something that you or. I would have ever dreamed of at the beginning of the year. So that's the deal and we'll talk about the implications for maverick and what he might do next in a moment but first let's start with yamaha's plan going forward. Which at least for this weekend in silverstone consists of cal crutch. Slow moving to the factory bike and then a second british rider. Jake dixon coming up from the petronas moto to team to take over the motor. Gp bike for probably. What's just one race. But hey it's like the biggest race of his life he gets the race a motor. Gp bike made his debut at his home. Track in silverstone. Now cal was set to participate this weekend. Anyway of course on the franco morbidelli bike. Having him on maverick fan. Y'all is bike makes so much more sense for the reasons that we've already talked about moves from franken morbedelli's two thousand nineteen chassis to occur at one where he may or may not perform that much better but he'll have a real ability to test parts and provide feedback in data. That is far more useful to yamaha the rest of this season and of course heading into twenty twenty two and then the dixon thing i mean it doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna get that ride next season but it is a fantastic opportunity for the team to see whether he's got the potential to make that move for those who aren't terribly familiar. Jake dixon's moto statistics. Not really the thing that big time careers are built off of necessarily but you never know join arco who nobody wanted to take a gamble on until he finally won a couple of championships or a guy like yoenis vulgar who nobody paid attention to it all and then in his very brief motogp career. He showed some real promise. Maybe jake dickson has that same inherent ability. Once he gets on the bike. I dunno yamaha doesn't know but they're going to try and find out this weekend so i don't think it's that big of a deal that they're giving somebody who isn't a top rider emoto to a shop you know one race weekend just to kinda give them a test and this does give patrolling the opportunity then to try out multiple riders at least until the point that franken morbidelli comes back so i would expect that. We'll probably see dixon just this weekend. And then maybe darren bender at aragon. Which i think is very likely considering. The fact that dixon is apparently doing test next week on a yamaha superbike obviously not on a motor. Gp by he's not allowed to abide he'll ride basically thousand cc either street bike or maybe a wsb k. Prepared bike or somewhere in between and then from there though determine whether he's going to get a motor gp shop for a race. And i would fully expect to see them. Give him the opportunity in aragon if it goes beyond that and morbidelli can't come back. I'm not quite sure who they go to next. But they could either alternate dixon and bender. They might get caviar. Hey into the mix or they might have somebody else to come up in kind of. Take a shot at bike. If you've got that opportunity you've got the luxury of a bike to give for a couple of rounds until your guy comes back. Might as well make the most of it and as for cal on the factory bike. No plans have been announced past silverstone now one would assume that crutch slow continue the rest of the season but there are other possibilities here a big one that we're going to talk about in a moment but a minor one could we see valentino. Rossi returned to the factory team for anywhere from the rest of the.

"An incident in that corner. That was pretty much spurred on by the fact that the following rider the second rider involved couldn't see the first bike lying down on the track. No that doesn't explain the maverick in yellow situation which was just weird and the zarko morbidelli situation. Which again was just weird. There aren't too many things you could do. The prevent those when it comes to those turn three incidents there absolutely is something that could be done Twisted lizard already brought up the marquez. Spago run-ins but she had another question. Should marquess have been penalized now. Like i said before that rule is definitely sliding one and marks past success certainly buys him the benefit of at least some doubt jeb race is also right in saying and this is something that we talked about a little bit earlier to that being the first lap of the race that grants even further leeway because riders are jockeying at that point. They're close together. There's going to inevitably be some sort of contact and like you said twisted lizard bringing up the fact that al h didn't wreck that factors in favorably for mark as well then when you take all of that and you throw in the overhead shot. No i don't think he should have been penalised. But i do like the idea of the dashboard message because they can hand that out. Pretty liberally and pretty easily. It's kind of like the track limits warning where you know if your favorite writer were the biggest writer in the sport has to do a fanatic lap. You're kind of upset if he gets a black flag year little upset if he gets a penalty that drops down three seconds. You're kind of upset but the warning. You're like oh well. They told them. But it's not that big of a deal yet. So i think that's going to help at least a little bit when it comes to situations like that bar. Twelve fifty g s mentioned dani. Pedrosa in last weekend's race. I really didn't mention danny too much. Just a little bit at the very end of the post-race show. He did do a fantastic job. He finished ahead of a lot of guys. And i for one am kind of a little bit bombed that he isn't doing both austrian rounds. I think it would have been very interesting to see him. Have second go at the same track just a few days after his first race to adjust and kind of get used to being back in competition. I think he could have had another top ten if that had been the case but he did a great job. I'm soggy wombat. Posted a tweet are eight. You've got to go see this. I'm right if you haven't yet. He posted a tweet from maverick fan. Y'all as is dad on hell suggesting during the race suggesting that yamaha was somehow sabotaging then yalla's last sunday now outside of the fact that if they were gonna sabotage him with a clutch that was impossible to modulate. They were gonna do that for the first start because how were they. There was going to be another red flag. I mean even at the red bull ring so it would have been a pretty complex and complicated plan that would have required some sort of psychic ability to know. That's how things were going to work out and then have that clutch ready to put into the bike. After the first start which was actually really really good. Probably his best started the season and he said that himself. I mean that was coming. Straight from maverick. It was his best start of the season. So i don't know how having your best start of the season is a precursor to your team. Sabotaging you so. That's patently ridiculous. I don't understand. Why on earth. He would've ever tweeted. That atta was super embarrassing for everybody. Involved and brian wondered how many track limits violations. We're going to see this upcoming weekend. He set the over under twelve for all three classes. If you're talking about actually running phonology laps like you've done your five. You've gotta take the long lap. I'm gonna take the under twelve but if you just mean how. Many riders are going to get the track limits warning on their dashboard after three and fractions of. That's the case. I am hard on the over. In fact i went to double down on the over when it comes to that one way more than twelve. But if you're talking about actually running the long lap or being told to have to run the long thing maybe two or three over the weekend but a lot of riders are going to get the warnings. I'll let's move on to some other stuff. Campbell's era one in response to our discussion last week about the idea of a super bowl in qualifying kind of way to curtail all of the hijinks people cruising in sessions especially moto three. He posted a link to an article by mad oxley. Who was fantastic. By the way and that talk to a former rider your vanderberg who suggested that the motor three debacle. All comes down to the bike's gearing. He said the teams are gearing. Their bikes really tall in fifth and especially in sixth gear specifically doing it to play for the slipstream to give them extra room under the rev limiter to get into the slipstream. Go faster at the expense of some power in that cure but it only works in the slipstream because six gear is so tall. The guy in front put down enough power to keep up with the guys behind him who using his wake in that. Toss skier to max out their top speed. And that leads to huge packs of riders jockeying back and forth going into turns at the end the straights. Because they're all getting that slipstream off the guy behind them and he said it's pretty much a requirement that you have to get a tow to qualify well because the gearing on the bike won't allow you to go that fast with the horse power that the engine is making so his solution is simple limit. The gearing on the top end and a majority of the madness goes away now. Obviously this guy totally knows what he's talking about far more than i.

"And how qualifying has been his arch nemesis this season. I think there's only two races all year long that he started inside the top ten and watching once again. What he did in this race is just just reinforcement that. If brad bender could just simply figure out how to qualify well he would likely be doing the same exact things. We've seen out of miguel lavera before the break and miguel by the way was injured in this one. That's why he was really not that great all weekend long and brad proved it again. Today i mean he started sixteenth and he was ninth as late as lap. Sixteen in this race. And then he just comes blazing through the field in the final third getting by bo takenaka gami and johann zarco in the final few corners of the last lap to get an incredibly impressive fourth place. Finish after starting sixteen. They just need to figure out how to get him. On the first three rows of the grid and brad bender could make some big big waves over the second. Half of the season. Never talking nakagomi. Well i don't know maybe he's feeling a little bit of that. Pressure from iowa is increasingly more impressive performances. Emoto too but one way or the other taco was motivated and he was looking a lot more like he did in twenty twenty in this race then has so far in twenty twenty one and getting roughed up a bit by bender at the end was really his low misstep and talk a finally gets back into the top five for the first time since he res- was a really good race for him on the other end of the spectrum. I wanna talk about three writers who did little to help their chances on sunday. And they all happen to be on do kadi's starting with johann zarco who actually had a decent race and he was in a really good spot when jack miller went out to at least only finish one spot behind fabio quattro in this one but then he let to riders. Get by him in those final few corners on the last lap going from fourth to sixth. And you just you can't. You can't do that if you want to be in the championship against a guy who's been as fast as fabio quarrel has been all season long. You can't make those mistakes especially when you're chasing writer in the championship if you've got the buffer. Well okay you lost a couple of points. Come back the next day. You can kind of fix it. But here's arco is a good distance behind. He needs every single point he can get in those situations. You have to find a way to stay in front of two riders who you are better than and i know that's arguable. But based on the results we've seen the season zarko should have been able to best takenaka gami and brad bender instead. He lost out the both of them. That's really really bad way for him to end the race for petco back niamh. I mean when this first started before the red flag. He looked like he was going to be a contender and then he was simply flat in the second race. He never got anything going it all and he finished eleventh doing himself no favors. And then jack miller ma'am after leading the race early and then falling out of the podium spots. Jack was in the middle of a late race. Push to get by fabio coiro. Get back on the podium. Make up some points in the championship as well which would have been huge for himself. Amber johns arco too. Because it would have taken a couple of points away from coiro. And i really don't think showing mir would minded. That's so much either. But then he lost the front end in the stadium section with ten laps to go trying desperately to match the corner speed of the aha instead of being patient and relying on the dakotas real strength which was sectors one two and four. Don't try make it all happen in three if you don't got it in three right and instead of maybe getting on the podium or at least finishing fourth he missed out on at least thirteen points. Maybe even sixteen and because of that. He's now over seventy points out in the championship. He is perilously close to having his title. Bid for twenty twenty one come to an end as well before we finish up on the qadis by the way how about the droese finishing tenth in this race he got the last spot based on a track limits and fracture but still top ten for a guy who hasn't racing a couple of years. I think that's a good day. All things considered becoming background to. It wasn't a good day for them. Obviously they didn't accomplish what they set out to and yet she still had a smile on his face at the end of the day. Why is that well. Because i'm pretty damn sure. He was looking up at martine on the top. Step of that podium and thinking there's next factory rider that's the guy i'm going to go. Try to win a championship with if these other guys aren't going to step up for me. Because if mirrored one or even if somebody like johann zarco have one he was going to be pretty darn upset that his factory guys didn't step up to the challenge. But instead i think he was seeing the future up there and thinking you know what maybe not this year but maybe next year or the year after that because i got somebody. I can really really work with here so on the podium whore. Hey martine his first victory pray mac qadis first victory in modo. Gp and a fantastic display of talent from future contender show. Amir was second the ride height device and the result that came with it. I think definitely gives mir and suzuki a ton of forward momentum them running at the podium fabio quarrel he just keeps on going and this is just like a win for him in a champion like effort as well and in that championship while fabio of course still leads the way and he actually has a bigger lead believe it or not when he showed up in austria which is huge the margin now stands at forty points after johann arcos last lap. Struggles mirror gets couple back. He's now fifty one out while disappointing efforts for both factory riders. Lee petco back. Nine of fifty eight points. Back in jack. Miller wapping seventy two behind some more and more this fabio quattro arrows championship to lose..

"Were kind of a different story. Jack had some really really bad results as he tried to get a grip on both the track and his motogp career for that matter. But the jack that we saw last year was much more representative of where he is right. Now is a writer and obviously he's on an even better bike with even more support than we had last season. Jack wants to be qadis leader. And this is his chance to take the reins amongst the desma riders and make up a desperately needed chunk of points on quattro. Ro at the same time to get himself back into this title fight. Jack is definitely going to be one of writers to be on sunday. Buddy is gonna have stiff competition both from outside and from within and of the other. Do cadi riders sean. Zarko for me could be the toughest challenger now last year at the red bull ring. Well that was certainly a memorable pair of weekends for johann but not for the reasons he or anybody else was expecting for that matter for those who aren't familiar. You should go back and watch. And the first race. He was involved in that now. Infamous wreck franken morbidelli. Then he suffered the effects of that in the second race. Having to start from pit lane this time around. Though things i would think are going to be way different. He's on a better bike. More confidence he's second in the points right now and hey branko. Morbidelli isn't even in this race so he's not going to repeat that bit of madness is so not only zarko looking for some sort of redemption at this track he's absolutely capable of it Arcos best motogp finish at. The rebel ring is death. That was actually on a yamaha not wanted to carry unease one here moto too but i think he's got a great shot to outdo his previous fifth-place mark on the decouty this weekend. And of course he's going to be aiming to get back on the podium. Now fabio quarrel isn't going to be the first rider. Most people think of as a potential winner in austria. But i'm telling you right now definitely. Don't sleep on him. He's one hundred percent capable of being in the mix on sunday because he's almost certainly going to have a really good starting spot now. Last year was a little bit tough for fabio at the rebel ring. But he hasn't been struggling anywhere this season. I mean you at tracks like low sale and mugello. That haven't always been nice to yamaha with their top speed problems. Those haven't been an issue for bobbio and that bodes well for this weekend and he's finished on the podium here before so yes the dukakis advantage and the ktm's will be awfully stout however quattro is capable of making up the difference on the brakes and in the corners and not only. Will he be in podium contention as fast as he's been all season i would not discount him as a potential winner in this race. He's going to be motivated to hold off the qadis and spoil their party because they think they're going to get him for a lot of points on sunday afternoon next up on the favorites list. Mark marquess and as usual this season. He's a little bit of a question mark when it comes to health. But we've all seen what he's capable of doing germany. of course we've also seen him struggle with his shoulder of the majority of the season not to mention his continually recovering arm. However he's have five weeks off to recover and gradually build up his workouts and his endurance. And he's probably in the best spot yet to look like the mark of old and mark of old not too shabby in austria. He of course has teamed up with andrei david. Oh so the put on some of the most spectacular shows ever hear emoji. The strange part is he's never come out on top. He's never one race in austria even though he's finished second here three times in his career races along with the fifth back in two thousand sixteen but even though he's number one he's definitely going to be locked in on that goal this weekend. He knows he's capable of it. He's likely to be the healthiest. He has been since his return. And that's going to make him into a serious threat. And i think he will be targeting a podium and another epic fight with the dukakis in front of him of course it might not just be do cadiz that are in front of mark that he's fighting with because ktm figures to be at the front two mb l. Avera he's going to be leading that charge coming off his surprised victory in the second race here last season. Actually i say it was a surprise but it wasn't. It was surprising because of the clever move. He made in that final corner to get past. Jack miller and paula spago. But he was legitimately going to be a podium. Finish or one way or the other in that race and we've seen since then that finish and his speed is no fluke now. The wind is obviously the highlight of his motogp. Stats here. But he's been fast every time out in the first red ring race last season he was taken out by police bogra while they were battling for fifth and two thousand nineteen eight. That was the best. Finish of miguel oliveras rookie season. So he's gotten faster here every race and he clearly feels comfortable at this track and of course. Miguel has been absolutely phenomenal since getting that nuke. Atm chassis with a win. Three podiums and four top five finishes in the four rounds heading.

"Variables in. I think we're just a little bit too stressed out But we should be out here having fun and sometimes that's not the case okay. There's a lot of variables as to why she quit. And it's shoes down. Look she's just there to have fun. She's just there for her right. Of course not. I mean this is. This is sad. This is pathetic. This is disgraceful. But i don't wanna be too hard on. Simone biles here one. Because i don't know anything about simone biles and i'm not that interested but but also to because i think simone biles is the voice of her generation. I think she is the voice of a generation that was not not taught duty that was actually taught to mock duty. It was thought to mock honor and the things that are higher than one's own pleasure and and one's own comfort simone biles as she quits the olympics. Because she's got the bad feels she says. I've never felt like this going into a competition before a tried to go out there and have fun and warm up in the back when a little bit better but then once i came out here no mental is not there so i just need to let the girls do it in. Focus on myself physically. I feel good. I'm in shape. She says she said this. The today show emotionally. That kind of varies in the time in moment coming here to the olympics and being the headstart isn't an easy feat so we're just trying to take it one day at a time and we'll see is really really pathetic and disgraceful. Because she's not there to have fun and she's not there for herself and she's she's not there is just oopsy daisy. Think about the person who's spot. She took think about the people who spend their whole lives trying to make it to the olympics and then this gal took another gal spot and then because she didn't have the right feels that day she said. Now i'm not having as much fun as i used to. You know you've got the imagined guys storming normandy. Say you know. This isn't as fun and imagine you're at your office. You've got a very important project that has to get done and then one of the guys on the team you know what guys just doesn't i don't know i'm not enjoying it as much as i. You know good luck see you. I'm i'm quitting quitting. I know some people are trying to defend her. They say she has mental problems. Maybe she died. I know some people have been blaming it on mental problems. I know a lot of people are blaming a lot of things mental problems because suffering in grievance now now carries social currency but if this woman really has mental problems and she's you know she should never have been competing in the first place. I mean she. She needs to get the help that she needs right or is or is that just an excuse. Because she didn't she didn't feel it. She felt she wasn't competing at her best. And i mean she just doesn't want to in our culture. There's nothing nothing more important than ones will then once appetite and one's pleasure and comfort desire very sad stuff that stuff. I mean this is part. This just underscores my decision not to watch or care about the olympics at all. Here's another thing that does that. The head of the olympics broadcasting just came out and made a very important feminist statement said That the olympics broadcasting coverage is going to focus on women's sport appeal not their sex appeal so the tokyo olympics had a broadcasting said. They're they're going to minimize the sexualization of female athletes in light of athlete complaints. That the uniforms or too sexy or something and they wanna make the women's bodies more covered up and this this head of broadcasting yanni's zarko says you got to focus on sport appeal not sex appeal. You will not see in our coverage some things that we have been seeing in the past with details. Enclose up close ups on parts of the body will we can do is make sure that our coverage does not highlight or feature in any particular way what people are wearing. And you won't see any of that stuff. This is very wrong. This is not. Because i'm saying that you know the the olympic should be tease or burlesque show but the physical beauty of the olympians is and has always been a central feature of the olympics going back to ancient greece and actually it extends to all sorts of sports. These people not even just the whim. During about the men to these are top physical specimens. These are people who have spent years and years and years crafting and their bodies into these machines into these incredible specimens of achievement. And excellence so that they can form perform athletic feats you you can't separate the physical appeal of the olympians from the sport. Them's they're intertwined. The objectification is what this denying is the way that we as human beings relate to our bodies relate to one another. We are attracted to one another. The sexes are complementary. Men and women are different in this way and sport is about physical. Excellence it's not just about making the individual athletes feel good or something like that. It's about all of us. Marveling at their excellence or at least that's what it's supposed to be but you can't acknowledge sexual difference now. Forget in sports. Forget in sports. You cannot acknowledge sexual difference in medical school..

"Is an either of the factory guys but rather johann zarco and no other do. Coty writer has been able to mess with johann this season. He's led the way for the pentagon with four podiums. All of those second place results an average finish of four point zero with only one. The nf himself is well like bag. The only thing he's lacking right now is a victory and that's why he still unable to match fabio although he's only thirty four points behind he is within striking distance But beyond that. Everything's going better than i'm sure. Even do khadi themselves had expected with zarko. I mean outside of all the second place finishes he also has a pair of fourth and his worst to results are a pair of eighth place finishes. And that's it now. Of course he needs to win to be able to compete with fabio charro and that actually brings up to questions number one. Ken zarko erases number two. Can he win the championship. Looping all the way back to what. Chris said at the beginning of the comments of the answer to the first question. Yes i think he can win. His bike is on par with factory guys. He's shown that he's plenty fast enough. And he certainly has got both the experience and the motivation to show the rest of the paddock. That they made a collective mistake passing on him. Well not ktm but all of the other so yeah. I think that he is capable of winning. Race was going to be a lot of competition if he will but he is capable of it the second question about the championship well. That's a much more difficult one. You know a satellite rider. Winning a title is unlikely. All by itself even with is good as we know fabio Toronto is he couldn't do it last year But then you add into that. The idea that jack miller and petco back. Ni- are still very much capable of getting back into this championship race. Then you have to worry about team. Orders a manufacturer support and all of that potentially becomes issues for someone like zarko because a prima kreider is going to lose that battle every time to one of the factory guys. So the thing that's arco needs to do is keep writing the way he has been but also find a way to turn some of those second-place results into wins because the only way to combat potential team mortars is to be far enough ahead. That takata has no choice but to back him over the other riders that they probably have more invested into in terms of both money and resources. So that leaves us one more. Do cloudy rider to talk about who. Hey martine and it hasn't been the best start to her hey martines motor. Gp career however. Don't let that full you. The kid is still incredibly fast. The guitar podium was no fluke. Obviously getting injured immediately after that in portugal derailed his season. and it's been a slow progression back full strength now that he's gotten back on the bike in fact and asked him. I think he retired because of physical pain. But we've got a five week break. And that should do him a world of good and coming back at a big cod track in. Austria really gives her. Hey the perfect opportunity to get his season back on course now. I don't expect them to hop on the podium or anything right away but getting into the top. Ten is a realistic first. Step and then once he gets back to full strength. I absolutely think that he'll be a challenge for top five. Finishes the rest of the way in that do coty is going to be able to make a push in both the manufacturer and the team championship. They'll be able to keep up with fabio but they've got a really good shot because they have so many talented riders capable of finishing on the podium. So we moved from there to suzuki coming off their i mode. Gp title in twenty years. There was a lot of momentum. There's a lot of enthusiasm coming into twenty twenty one and will pretty much. All of that has evaporated by now instead of the championship providing a springboard the bigger and better results more wins. They haven't won a race yet. Champ joanne mir only has three podiums and alex ryan's has battled wrecks an injury and doesn't have a podium to his name in the first time races and strangely enough. The bike that everybody thought was the best in the paddock. At the end of last season has actually fallen behind the others technically. They're the only manufacturer without a proper whole shot device to have a front one but they have nothing in the rear for the start of the race at a time. Where every other manufacturer has an adjustable ride height device that they can use the entire race. Not just on starts. Alex rans says that one fact alone is costing them three or four tenths a lap critical time for a manufacturer. That was already struggling in qualifying. And they're questioning their own setup as well rinse had already moved back to his twenty twenty seven for us in and said he felt more comfortable on it now. The thing is that neither mere nor rin's are really slow. Once they get into the race mir has moved up. A ton of positions and rinse has been emporium contention multiple times. He just simply rex but their technical disadvantages. Being compounded in qualifying are really just putting them in too big of a hole to climb out of on a regular basis. That's where the problems start now. Joanne mir says that. Wd behaviors unexpected exit over the off season to go to formula. One isn't the reason that's behind. He said hey..

"Gonna sit out for a year no way. I mean after watching. What happened with. Andre david also so far in watching what happened with where he lorenzo. He's not gonna sit out at least not with the serious intent to come back embrace in two thousand twenty three. He won't be relevant at that point. I mean we've already seen that happened to multiple riders now so if it probably is his only option for next season. Then it's going to be one or two choices. He the racist for them. Where he pulls a casey stoner any bills before you even turns twenty seven and obviously the odds are strongly on him wanting to continue racing. Which means a really a bud. You never know. I mean if maverick is feeling particularly moody maybe he just watched a bunch of videos of lynn jarvis or something. Then i wouldn't totally rule out the ladder of him. Saying you know what you're gonna throw my hands in the air. I'm done i don't like the media anymore. I don't like the circus anymore. I don't like you know trying to battle with my manufacturer anymore. I'm just gonna take my money and go sit on a beach somewhere and again. I'm not saying. I think that's going to happen. I think he's going to raise for appropriate but there is that one little percent of a chance. Maybe he draws a line in the sand digs its heels in and says no for better for worse. Take him balling going home or go the world superbike or something like that. I'm alright so that does it for the motor. Gpo news now. Let's move on to some of your comments and obviously a few of you wanted to talk about maverick vanilla and we'll get back around to him in a minute. I i wanna start with chris over on facebook who looking at the second half of the season in light of the first part of our midseason review kind of ask the general question of. Hey who is your favorite right now in the championship. Fabio charro or johann zarco and. He wasn't just asking me. He was asking everybody which is good. Because i really don't have a preference per se. I just wanted to be an exciting battle down to the wire. I wanna see valencia and import amount. Make 'em whatever other race is at the end of the year Make a real difference in the championship. I would love to have it come down to the final lap but that being said i absolutely think it would be a bigger surprise a much. Bigger surprise is zarko. Wanted for sure. Satellite team a writer. That was one hundred percent on the outs barely hung onto asleep moto. Gp by pretty much sucking up his pride and going to eventually it will be quite the story for sure and not just quite the story for johann zarco but for do too because they throw him a lifeline. They did him a favor by giving him that seat. And right now he's paying the back of course who knows what's going to happen when we get down to the end of the season if the factory writers are involved how that's all going to work out but if it truly does come down zarco and fabio quarrel and zarko where the win the championship. Not only would he be vindicated but do cardi would look like geniuses to now of course the flip side of that coin is fabio winning in his first. Try on the factory team. That would be huge. That would immediately peg him as a potential challenger or successor to marc marquez. Atop the sport but it would certainly be less of a surprise overall for a factory yamaha rider to win the championship especially one with wins under his belt. Already both riders. They'll do for me carry longer term questions about consistency into the second half based on their recent history. Because no matter how awesome. They've looked so far. There is a chance that either one of those riders or both really could stumble in the second half so that it also means there's an opportunity for some other writers to enter the fray potentially as well and not just including both of the factory. Do kati riders. But i would there. Miguel olivera in there. And maybe even someone like joanne mir as well and of course we'll talk about a majority of those riders coming up here when we get to the second half of the show. I'm all right so now. Let's talk about some silly season stuff. Tim over on. Facebook said that a dutch website kind of added some fuel to the fire started by kevin schwantz last week or the week before that suggesting some sort of defacto swap between yamaha and suzuki where maverick fan. Y'all as woodhead home to the star team and then alex rin's would vacate the seat for vanilla is to come in by making the move over to yamaha taking over the petronas spike. They created by franken morbidelli after he gets promoted to the factory team now. The dutch site said that they kept an eye on maverick the entire him weekend and notice that there were multiple occasions where he wandered down the paddock and was seen having serious conversations with some of the people at zucchini and they thought not a whole lot of it at the time. But then in the wake of the kevin schwantz suggestion if auto. Hey maybe there's something to this. And i will admit that. Yeah it does. Spur on some interest here in certainly some speculation but i still see that kind of scenario as one. That's very unlikely the play out mostly because there are so many moving parts. I mean you've gotta get to manufacturers into xueqian yamaha. Three modo gp teams into factory level riders to all agree to the same set of terms. And what the span of. Maybe a month or month and a half. That's hard enough to begin with. And i think the biggest roadblock here is the fact that the relationship between suzuki and rennes is in the bab one. I mean we haven't even really seen any friction. at all. between suzuki and alex rennes. let alone. The kind that we've seen not just this season but over the past couple of seasons with maverick venezuela's in yamaha. So where's the motivation on that side to break a contract early you know. And that's not a one sided thing. Either i mean in that scenario. It's not like suzuki picks up the phone and says to alex runs. Hey you've been traded the maha. I mean it's not a football team. You know both sides would have to agree that this is the best thing to do for their respective futures. Just maverick in yamaha did. And because of that. I'm not exactly sure if i'm alex. Rinse why. I would willingly agreed to leave a factory team to go to a yamaha satellite bike. That has a grand total of one podium in eighteen combined races this year. So it's good for everybody except for alex rennes. But that's not good enough. It has to be good for everybody across the board to get all of those respective parties to agree. So well that's might be the perfect one for maverick vanilla. He might be all in on that. I if i'm being perfectly honest i think rizzoli over petronas would love to have alex rings on board you know they could easily get back to that place. Patrol was at in twenty twenty. But unfortunately i think this is yuki side would be the hold up making something like that happen. Because i don't think suzuki really wants to break contract with a rider that they really have no serious problem with and more importantly. I don't think that alex rene's is going to willingly. Demoted himself. Just to make maverick. Penola is happy now at the end the next year..

"How it's done. But it's very disproportionate which is pretty amazing. The top of the podcast. We pledge sound of president biden stating that lies being spread on social media specifically facebook. Were literally killing people. I would add to that the lies that are being spread by fox news during prime time by tucker carlson and laura ingram are also killing people. And of course sean hannity. But you know he's so he's a well-known wire. They've reached millions of people every night. And you've got tucker carlson literally encouraging people not to get the vaccine because it's unneeded and it doesn't work and you've got laura ingram promoting mock of folk cures that don't work and say we need a vaccine because we can treat the disease once you get it which would come as a great surprise to the tens of thousands of people that are on incubators right now in the hospital and stay in the hospital for two three four months. But i don't know what you do about it anymore. Fox news cable network. There's no regulation of what is set on. Cable tv Other than what comes from internal controls. There's no regulation of social social media spreads other than their internal controls. The question you come up with is who support should be controlling this though. Who should be editing. If you will there was a time when we got all of our information through the news media news media had people who moderated who evaluated information so they could weed out the the lies and distortions and try to present the facts as best they could and we had opinion journalism. No question about it. But they're still were people in the middle who are trained to do this now. It's just raw information going straight from the person who believes these conspiracy theories directly to the consumer and are now often they become more believable than the institutions. That are supposed to be leading us. You know there is one thing. I'll say before we move on though is that i do think that the social media platforms have been like had net good done more good than bad and it isn't a social media but it's also blogs. They've raised millions of dollars for people in need. They have helped find missing people. I know you remember many years ago. The work i did on the local sheriff scandal here and ultimately he did not win a primary and he was voted out and that was an all due to me. But it was my investigation along with chet. Zarko rest in peace where we got the documents we to prove what was happening and then we just got traction in the community. A lot of that was moved forward by social media and forms and so on so when we start talking about how are we going to deal with misinformation being spread on these platforms. You end up with a lot of people first of all saying. I don't know that's been the american problem forever because we have the first amendment and second you have these spaces where people on even the far right and the far left will come together and agree and they'll say don't that space because you're messing with free speech so it's a very difficult problem to address but it is definitely a problem and it's really strange to me how these platforms are able to figure out how to you know. They they publish things. Like you may wanna read this article. I or this particular post has misleading information in it. I've had one of my post taken down. Because i i re posted a mean that was supposed to show that the captain america movie predicted cova because there was one of those graphics in the bag that was a circle and there were a lot of other circles on it. So look like the cova thing. And i said look at how stupid this is an guy you know putting facebook jail for for reposting that so they're not good at enforcing anything we. We would want them to do anyway. They did a study of facebook's anti vacs posters the people that were putting out the most misinformation on facebook and getting away with it for the most part a couple of them knocked off facebook but most of them are still there. They found that like sixty five percent of all the bad information on facebook originating with twelve people whose supposed for being shared widely and the one. I found the most discouraging Because he is the son of one of my heroes of but is responsible for a lot of this is robert f kennedy junior. Who's been a famed anti vaccine. For years of the others are people. I have not heard of myself. But they are very prominent in the world and what they have in common is. They're all making money off of this. They're all promoting newsletters or promoting videos on youtube that are sponsored or writing books or whatever and they're all profiting over basically killing americans by feeding them this baloney and it's very discouraging. The other problem that we've got to a gallup reports that trust that americans have institutions is really cratering. They say it's down ten points in the past decade overall. Trust and key. Us institutions of all of our institutions. The only ones that have majority of the police at fifty one percent small businesses seventy percent in the military sixty nine percent at the other. End though you've got congress. Tv news big business. The criminal justice system in newspapers each of the confidence rating at or below twenty one percent congress at twelve percent big visit eighteen percent ranked at the bottom. The listens two thousand seven and this drop began with nixon and watergate. Back in one thousand nine hundred seventy three and it's just been going down and down and down and down again. I would recommend a book. That i think is just very powerful on this issue. It's called twilight of the elites written by chris hayes the host on msnbc in the evening just before mattos on. It's a really good explanation of how we've lost trust in institutions and that is really contributed to the disinformation climate. That we're living in right. Now what do you say. We move onto some political notes. Oh good let's move under some political no right first of all a couple of budget notes. I the school aid budget again. A record setting investment in education. This is a bipartisan budget. That governor whitmer signed last week which provides seventeen billion and closes at funding gap that was created years ago by a proposal. A now this is different from the funding. We discussed last week because those were esser funds those federal dollars. The school aid fund is the budget that normally funds education and it's paid for through state taxes and another note on spending a senate bill twenty seven approved three hundred eighty five million dollars using mostly federal kobe. Relief money It's Aid for hospitals care facilities someplace activities childcare and another ten million dollars to help the areas affected by the floods at the end of the at the end of june. This is bipartisan work. Good on them. Thank you for a gang that done. Amen amen michigan's republican parties are real mess. These days. it is splitting wide. Open the latest victim of the trump versus non. Trump's is the very excellent incompetent. Executive director of the party has suddenly resigned. Jason rowe step down. He he left quietly just said that. I'm leaving on the best of terms. I'm going continue to work for republican candidates but he clearly has been purged from the party because he had the temerity to say that donald trump lost and he deserved blue because he blew the campaign. rose background includes being the chief national spokesperson for the marco rubio presidential campaign. He used to. He did a lot of campaigns as a consultant in california before returning home to michigan. I will say i've known jason. Since he was in college he's a great guy Very very smart politico. What are the best in the state. It's a big loss for the republican party. He also comes steeped in tradition. His father jerry was executive director of the michigan republican party for years his nickname when he was that person was mr republican again. Another really good person and back in the days when the two parties could talk with each other. jerry was one of my best friends and To see jason. Lee is just another. Sign that the party. You may be thinking about the two thousand twenty two election in two thousand twenty four election. But it's got to put itself back together. I in the day the jason announced that he was leaving. I can imagine.

"Well. Today we're going to feature a pig in a couple of jack asses you and me sadly this week show is one jack short. So in steve. Stead give you a fantastic tale of a canadian war donkey. Sergeant bill billy goat. He's done a donkey. He's a goat that's true. That's true those animals are not related but that joke necessitated me not knowing that out. I didn't know a word of war donkey was a thing. i guess. That's what this brings us to the i. It turns out that goats and donkeys lake together are the next two animals that are most popular as mascots after dogs and cats like military brands. And things like that okay. Cool actually i. i read recently. Something about donkeys goats goats donkeys goats being like the next fully domesticated house animals. Dogs were like that's been theorized. I don't mind goats that much but they are less cuddly. they've got horns and hooves heightens if your wife got her hands on a pygmy goat. It would be living in sleeping in bed with you and you know it awesome awesome. I sure i'm glad we don't know anybody who has a of goats and jim through glad. I don't know the code to get into your house to leave all those bunches of go. So our story begins in august of nineteen fourteen. Which for those interested started on. Thursday for greg and a wednesday for julian saw charlie chaplin's debut film making a living and that kerfluffle europe was having was picking up steam. I love your many history lessons kind of one of my favorite thing. They're they're they're good. That's important stuff to know. Don't you know and that brings us to broadview a small town in saskatchewan with a goat. Was anyone living in canada. Nineteen fourteen other than this guy with a goat. Yeah there were. All dave was a weird weird. Oh yeah i know david. He's a good guy. I met him down morton. Timmy's he's a buddy friend. Hoya on august twenty third. The soldiers of the freshly formed. V western cavalry expeditionary force had stopped in broadview to pick up some recruits. Wow queuing for the train spotted a girl with a goat. her name was also dave evans. Also dave develop. It's a nice day and wanting it for good luck charm and also because it was nineteen fourteen and you could just take stuff from people. They took the goat from young deasy. Kerr wayne to make it their mascot. They just they said sewri a ton a ton but they still took her took her so sorry. So this is art goto. Yes sorry. Dave oh so. Sorry so sorry. Davis zarko sources all agree. That daisy agreed. Soldiers could have it but there's never any mention of payment or how a group of soldiers from nineteen fourteen demanding a little girl give or pet to the war effort might have influenced her willingness to part with billy. Frankly i find it all suspect. I'm pretty sure some dude stole. They stole it from a little girl. I'm pretty sure they very politely stole ago. Do you think during the war. They'd like they'd like have a really easy missionary. Like god that was like stealing from a little girl right and then with the advent of candy after yield got over being terrible pre stealing candy from babies it was stealing goats from girls So so private. Bill was now properly conscripted. He lived in trained with the fifth in canada and their base. In england they pay for bill to cross the pond. They flew across the pond. Yeah yeah okay which was apparently quite some doing because when we get to the other goat like the british weren't big fans of foreign goats. I didn't. I would have thought so one of those things you don't think about but apparently it was a big deal so the fifth would soon be deployed to the front and i guess no mascots were allowed in the trenches just as like a general rule to the goat is something. They're gonna aim for all around the goat operation. Mutton went well the sheep but whatever so as you can imagine. This didn't set well. With the boys. The fifth who like many other regiments and both world wars found a creative way to endanger the life of their dear animal. Caban gosh do. They put him in a trench coat. Dress them up like a like a general. Like talk to general billy that way he will die. There was some officer related headbutting. We'll get into so according to sergeant herald baldwin author of holding the line quote. We cannot part with billy. The boys argued that we could easily get another colonel but it was too far to the rocky mountains to get another goat. I love that all right. all right. you can't fault as lodge racks tracks. The difficulty was continuing the quote. The difficulty was solved by buying a huge creative oranges from a woman who was doing brisk trade with the boys. I assume that doesn't mean she's a whore but she might be an orange for. Two-horse consists of bricks brisk trade. She was throwing oranges or briskly trading and tundra a continuing. The oranges sold like hotcakes. And in a jiffy. The orange box was converted into a creighton billy with shanghaied into the crate and smuggled aboard the trade. God that poor go-to person was stolen from a bomb. A tiny little girl that it was forced to train in battle and then it was stuffed in a box and then they put it in a box on a train and sent it to world war. One this is a tragic story. Eric why are you bringing such tragedy. This is this is just to say this is not having a great day so there you go now. You're a goat and just like a certain young naive aristocrat from famous askari. You're lost in a world wind of action intriguing warm beer. At least there's beer. Which apparently the soldiers beer rations and paperwork were apparently his favorite foods. All right at least. He got his paper foods. Yeah right like that could have been a lot worse and bill. You know you would go on to have a distinguished career for a goat. Are i mean you know more seriously. Though at this to sound a goat mix. I believe will. Apparently the british called it wires. Bill was found in a shell crater standing over a wounded russian soldier despite having his own shrapnel wounds guard goat guards you. Wow i what how would you feel oppression soldier waking up to a goat standing over your body protecting you in a shell crater. Lucky to be waking up yeah. I don't know what i would do. I would worship goats. I would worship right. I felt like i was trying to take an. It's gotta be warmer under the goat than it is under fire as yes later in the second battle of apis oh private. Bill stood his ground with brave canadian soldiers. Now famous for not retreating from germany's first major deployment of poison gas and despite what should have been a goat ending toxic cloud. He was found the next day no worse for wear like went on tin helmet or something like that some around ten helmet using their their orders. Then yeah that's right off orders. Just he really must have got their goat. Sheep goat for his steadfast valor. He was promoted officially to the rank of sergeant and february of nineteen fifteen at nouveau chappel. So that's nice. it's a good one. I feel like a for a goat. That's a good

"But he was also complaining again that he was struggling with the front end of the bike. And that was the same thing that played Cal last season talked about the front tire getting overheated and traffic his consistent. Issue was with the front of that bike. And this goes back to what we were talking about with Honda's a whole that something that affects Marc Marquez a little bit ends up being a much bigger problem for all of the non Marc Marquez riders out there. So there definitely is work to do. And the great thing for how to for Cal is if they're working on it, and they come up with some sort of solution to make things better. They only have to get like fifty percent of the way there in terms of making it perfect for Cal. And it probably will be perfect at that point for Mark. So that's one of the examples of how having that very experienced rotter on a current year bike that's not afraid to and is willing to once voices opinion. Then that helps them overall because. Yeah, maybe they're a little bit behind in that department the start the season because Cal was her Mark was her Lorenzo was hurt. Everybody was hurt. But they'll be able to make up that ground more quickly than some of the other teams because they've got the experiences. Someone like Cal crutch slow pushing. Car from behind and it helps Mark in front in the process now getting back to Cal for a second do not expect because of the injury because of the time off because of the development problems don't expect the kind of start two thousand nineteen like Cal had in two thousand eighteen skim. Take him a little bit longer. S- probably going to be a slow start for Honda all around except from art Marquez. But eventually he'll get back to where he was in the last night. I want to talk about before we do winners and losers all the way down in nineteen th place near the bottom of the chart Yoahan's ARCO, and he is not as much as I want him to. He is not making the type of progress either. He or the team won now courting to everybody involved. They thought they had something they could work with in the first couple of days, and then they lost the handle and then Zarko crashed and messed up the bike, and they had to rebuild it. And then in the end, I mentioned this earlier they went back to the one thing that I thought they should avoid at all costs in this test. They started swapping out Amiri departs, hoping the find some magic Lorenzo gas tank like combination for Johann, but I'll tell you. I mean, I get why they did it especially if they wrecked the bike. They're gonna put it back together. Anyway, you know, put some stuff on there. But it's too late in the game for that. They've run out of time. And now they have no choice but to finish their preseason development in season. And I'm sure it's disappointment because ARCO couldn't match his teammates pace. And like I said a bit earlier he hasn't looked like that number one rider. They were out to get when they signed him. And so they've got a lot of work to do. Now. The good news for Zarco is the poll seems to feel better. And better each time. He gets on the bike, and that could be important because remember the one thing those two riders have in common is that they both road tech three Auma Hawes, and they both pull his head to make that transition that Zarco is making now. So you know with. A little bit of advice. If Zarco is willing to take it who knows everybody's got a big ego. But if Johan is willing to take some advice from pole that might help smooth over the process and the things that a spa grow fines that are making the bike better for Spago may make the bike better for Zarko as well. But I don't know one hundred percent because I don't know if they really agree on writing philosophy or on how they like the bike set-up.
