"Zacks recommends for election day in the primaries a my guy where I live there's an election the lady because of coronavirus remember when that was a thing remember when we were worried about feels like yesterday today eight thirty three got Tony eight three three four six eight eight six six nine according to Italian doctors and the head of the center of a hospital Milan the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy okay it's that brought a virus is losing its potency the swabs are performed over the last ten days of the viral load in quantitative terms that was absolutely infinitesimal heir to the ones carried out a month or two months ago could have to do with whether could have to do with a whole bunch of things that could have to do with the fact that the virus is Peter itself out and it's one of the things that we heard then we discussed that and I quite possibly that's what was going to happen is that this thing was going to just it just work itself out phase itself out of existence but I'm very curious to see over the next couple weeks weeks whether or not we see an increasing coronavirus cases from all of these rights the protests to because many people are wearing masks but with these rights I'm curious to see if remember and I I mean I I'm gonna discuss this more than once people attacked those who are protesting lockdown orders how dare you want to take care of your family how dare you how dare you think it's okay to go out there and try and make a living you're disgusting there were reporters who said that if you are protesting and demanding yeah purchasing lockdowns wants open up you are mocking the dead I'm telling you there are some really daft ignorant reporters out there they call themselves reporters let's let's let's not kid ourselves if they were real reporters out there they would wonder why there were containers of rocks and bricks in certain cities just all of a sudden on the streets you think it's all construction related sure okay it's awkward if they're real reporters out there they would know that the White House at a certain time in the evening the lights go out they wouldn't be reporting all the lights went out of the White House at eleven o'clock well there were protesters there what a what a horrible thing the lights go off at eleven o'clock according to the report they went off at eleven o'clock during the bush administration and during the Obama administration and then they go off eleven o'clock during the trump administration but it became a story all look how terrible trump is that's if there were reporters there are still a few here and there but we were told we were terrible bigoted awful people also people if we thought for a moment for a moment that people should be allowed to go back to work that was in quarantine the healthy but there is no blame for riders for not wearing masks and spreading cover ninety it's okay it's okay to notice it's okay to laugh these people hi this is good news out of Italy and I certainly hope that it moves forward as for where we are with with corona virus you'll note that I have stopped going to numbers because I can't trust them we won't know the numbers for a while the people diving providers yes to say otherwise is foolhardy did more people diving comorbidities absolutely did it affect the old and then we do a horrible job in nursing home specifically in New York when the new better yes after that lots of questions.

"So this is a music related stuff. So is anybody follows that knows? I have this weird affinity for like spaghetti, western music in like have wanted to do like spaghetti, western rock band. We have a handful of tracks up on ample tunes that are kind of in that realm. So I ordered a, it's pretty much a baritone guitar because like any more Coney who's like the guy who did the soundtrack for all of the old Clint Eastwood movies and stuff. He did kind of invented that genre of music, and there's a lot of weird instruments which will include a a, like the old Fender bass, six, which is just a baritone six string bass guitar. So the vintage modified line of squire, which are actually really good. I used to work at a music store and I was always impressed Squires may, but the vintage modified stuff is really good in. It's the only thing. Currently out there that approaches it. So so I electric guitar. Squire strat the, some of them are really good. Like I mean, I'm I have a ton of relate nice, expensive guitars and instruments fenders, and Gibson's, and all of that. But the the old affinity like the old affinity Squires are pretty good and the the vintage modified stuff is really like, I remember always being impressed with him. So I ordered this a Fender bass, six baritone, and it just showed up the morning right before the podcast why few minutes late. So I haven't even opened yet. So, yeah. "Tickets. Not like narrating knife show. But yeah, check out green beetle. It's it's really inspiring. Transition there. Hames. What are you reading? What's inspiring you? I have to say tallyho. It's a channel that I've been watching for the last year. I think I started watching him like his first or second video, and it was kind of cool to actually go out there and person the the amount of skill and the sheer amount of live oak needed is incredible, and it is inspiring, build and one that I am really looking forward to watching it hoping that I can get to get out there get some time and give him hand. I'm so definitely check it out. It's tallyho TA l. y. h. o on YouTube. So incredible project. I can't say more cool. What about us? So Brandt Bailey I've, no, I've talked about him before a few of his hammers. He just recently, like over the past like month or two, he started putting out a bunch YouTube videos which hasn't historically done. He's kinda mostly Instagram person, and I like him a lot of it's on the power. Hammer, but still he just get a c. you know, everybody has a different technique for doing things. And I mean, I would, I would say this guy is he's like hammer in the same sentence, but like he's like, he's like the Mozart of power, hammer. He. So it's, it's interesting, but as videos are really short like five minutes and there's no cutting, no editing. It's like I'm gonna show you how to make something that will take you four days today. Oh, I'm gonna do in five minutes on, you know, there's just no s lot of cool techniques and stuff. So, yeah, Bryan Bailey to have been watching. Cool. Do you have a product of the exac? I will admit while you guys go will what you got? I don't have one yet, but just be has been almost almost pulled the trigger on that helps forge. For knife making on strictly on the reviews are good. Does that count. It's my going to be favorite product of the week. So have you ordered it? Not yet. I message them on Facebook. Yeah. Yeah, this if they wanted to like sponsor video or something. Yeah, the collaboration, but if they don't all probably buy it. Nice. James. I have to go with the ship saw that I got to work with a telepho- if you can't tell. I was really, I really enjoyed my time there at the saw tallyho. Do. This is just incredible and words cannot describe how massive and complicated this thing is to be able to progressively change the pitch in Ingles because in most band saw's the table turns in this, the table is always flat, and the saw itself turns around the table and it has a power knob so you can actually turn by power, but that actually moves it a little too fast. So you can you, we has it set up as a crank on the end. So there's a second person watching the angles written out on the board so that he can turn the crank to match the angle at at different spots in the boards. So, yeah, definitely go check. Look at his most recent video has a has a good look at the saw and the next one come out. We'll have even more and I'll probably have a video coming out soon with what I did on it. So it's a seriously cool channel as well as tool. Where do you find something like that? Well, this particular saw is they don't know exactly how old it is, but probably somewhere around one hundred years old and he he was wanting to have something like that. He actually was going to end up having to do it with a saws, all and having a bed mounted to the saws. Also, he could slowly change angle at the size all, but that would take for ever to cut one of these things out. And someone watching the channel said, hey, I've got one. Do you want it. Yeah. And so this makes like we were cutting ten foot long boards and attend foot long cut dead on the line through to a quarter inch of live oak, which if you've ever cut live oak, it is incredibly difficult and we were cutting, you know, ten foot long line in fifty sixty seconds. Well, changing the angle. It was probably a little longer than that. It's probably like a minute half, but still that's incredibly fast. So does that give you one yet? I have what you got..

"I used a punch like just a center punch for something, and I flip it over in. There's h on the side. I'm like, this is my Grandpa's punch. I had no idea. Getting tools from, you know, my my dad or never met my grandpa, but my dad was over a Mike. I think this is your dad still, probably like that's awesome. Crazy to think that like would have thought that he bought this tool. You know, sixty years ago in his grandson, it'd be using. It's kinda cool. I've got my grandad's Dunlap Jack plane and he died two days before I was born. So it's, you know, there's there's something cool about, you know, I think I used to probably like nice clean stuff, but it's really neat. Sometimes getting tool that an old tool that has somebody's initials. That's kind of cool. It's like, thanks Ernie. Whoever Ernie is whatever things I love about the wooden buddy planes that I have is in the one end of the plane. You have the maker's Mark, but in the other, the other end of the plane, you often have like seven or eight stamps from the. Workers have used it over the hundreds of years of its life, so cool. And so you kinda, you have no idea who these are, who's people are, but you know what this tool has produced. A lot of other things for a lot of other people makes it a lot of enjoy coal St. one-day tools. So. I think we're all in agreement that no, we would not give up our entire shopfloor tools for the tools that we thing that we, I think that there are people who just, you know, they jump into it and heavily money, and they go and buy the best of the best. And I think that they're kinda missing out on the enjoyment of of learning and growing because at that point they're buying a tool as a tool and not as in, it's not something that you're going to be learning all those steps and things history of becoming a maker. Absolutely. And and so I know that, you know, I, I've got a relationship grizzly now and got you know, nice tools in my shop. But when I was starting to build my shop, you know it was these Craigslist finds in James your hand to guide power tool related. But you know, all these Craigslist finds of, you know, my planer which was made in the early nineties had sat in someone's garage. Needed, you know, full tuneup. All the pieces were there and learning. You know how that machine works. The engine behind it was like totally invaluable. Versus, you know, if I just bought a brand new, you know, whatever that were perfectly. And then when something's are go wrong or getting snipe player or something going, I don't know. But now like I know how the machine works, so it's like, oh, I can just tweak this and it's not a big deal if I'm giving that. So I agree with you that you know, just spending lots of money right off the bat is is not a way to go at it. Cool. I think those are questions this week, but foot accusers challenge. We were going to pick a winner this week, but we only have two injuries in one of those entries is mine. Oh. Oh, the other guy wins. So we're gonna because we only had opened for one week. We're going to hold it open for the second week like we normally do. So we'll pick a winner next time and it should be on Thursday next week, right Thursday. So I had an idea. So I think I think showed it's, he gets last week that will hammer that with a grain handle that action to off. So I was thinking we need to do some collaboration between the three of us and that would be really cool. And then we could like either auction offer something use that money to finally by our podcast shirts or whatever something, you know, something that we can use forgive way, but I was thinking I could forge. I don't know if it'd be a handle or something, but I could like Ford, maybe hammerhead or something when he gets do the handle, and then I don't know what the other person will do..

"Can join us in the live chat each Thursday at ten AM usually. This is from Matthew Dobbins any idea where to find replacement springs or materials to use for jaws of Miller falls? Number two, they're not compression springs just picked up. I just picked one up, but it's missing one of the springs in the Chuck for those of you don't know. Miller falls number two is a beater drill and in the jaw, there are springs that actually keep the open. So that's fit the bits in there. Unless you guys want to jump in, I think I can good answers one. He I go for it. Honestly, finding the springs are parts of the jaws are incredibly difficult. Sometimes you can get lucky and find them on the collectors forms on you on Facebook. Excuse me. And if you ask on there, you might find someone who has an old beater that they're the part out. Another option is setting up a reminder on setting up notification on EBay that may or may not help, and you may be waiting for while, but most of the time, that's the type of thing where you end up buying one that has something broken and just replace the whole Chuck because a small piece like that's pretty hard to come by another option is if you have one of the springs ready way you can do is measures the width of the spring steel itself, and you can actually go by wire spring steel and shape it to fit that it takes a good bit to bend it into shape and hold that shape, but you can't actually make your own. Brings it just takes a little work. Funny enough. I was actually suggest making your own springs. There's some good YouTube videos on spring making, especially if you're ready, have one in there. He just duplicate the think this'll Tony as a good bit on that, but it seems that's another one of those things seems like so much work like there's like the only literature availables like a book that was written in seventeen thirteen. And you know, you have to have the feel like you have to have a leave and like there's a lot of a lot of science that's involved in spring making. Would that be something that like McMaster Carr would have like dislike the spring and this isn't like spring you'd be thinking about? It's it's more like a an l. shape. Okay. And so it's a bit piece of middle as opposed to curly q. spring into a very specific shape. Well, then find that I get. Yeah, like McMaster Carr. Amazon, you can find regular strings, but probably not this one. Right? So I forgot if wanted to mentioned something you guys are familiar with ample tune saying that my friend John doing, I know so of our listeners are as well. So we have had people stealing our music and copyrighting it so so that's. Yeah. Cool. Is at bats, countless hours big time. Yeah, we've made it so far. It's only all of our electric synth wave tracks were probably just gonna take all of them down literally the same day every so far every time that Jimmy dressy uses. One of those tracks the same day. Somebody like starts new account and like copyrights all the of tracks. So we haven't had a hit on any of our other stuff yet were working. We're fighting with YouTube right now trying to get the the copyrights released, but that's that's been pretty pretty disheartening. Blow to both of us. Cassini were putting. Like probably eight to ten hours into these songs and for somebody for free in for somebody to try and collect royalties on our. Super frustrating. That's sell kind though, f why anybody out there? I think. I mean, it's it's a, I think if you had the music up before they tried to copyright him, I think you're safe. I talk to Jimmy and he said he hasn't had any issues, but we've had one or two people that have tried to upload a video with our Cynthia, they've tracks and they're getting flagged..

"But we're, we're working on the frames while I was there in the frames are the main supports that hold the outside Bill that creates shape the boat and they're what hold the planking on the outside and the the inside walls of the boat and holy cow, if you think that I do a lot of work, this project is incredibly complicated and it huge, yes, to make eight four. Eight frames in each frame is has two sides to it. So there's actually a hundred. Hundred seventy six actual frame cutouts hefty made. And each one of these has to be cut out of live oak and they're all this wild curving flowing shapes. So they have to be cut on a band saw, but not only that at each frame, the all had become a Bevill because the ones closer to the front of the boat, the the prow of the boat comes in and the ones the closer on the sides have to be pretty close to ninety degrees, but not only is there a Bevill on the size of all the frames, but the Bevill is progressive. So at the bottom of the boat, it might only it might be, you know, one or two degrees off, but then by size it might be as much as twenty degrees off. So as you're cutting the band, saw the head of the bandsaw saw needs to lean progressively as you go through the cut. So as you're moving through the cut, the head has to be rotating to create that angle. And so it might start out at one or two degrees. And then halfway through the cut be down at like ten fifteen degrees, and then farther out at comes back up and it's just this amazing process. Definitely. Gotta go take a look at it, but it's if you look on on YouTube for tallyho come up attends insane. How do you control that? How do you? Is it like a well? He has a hundred year old ships. Aw, that is the one of the coolest pieces of work ever seen. Like, imagine you know, met Cremona 's band sawmill take that bigger wheels on it. Turn the head ninety degrees. So it's now a band saw and then put a put that whole thing on a rotating contraption and then put in a table that's like six foot by four foot. That's all solid cast iron. And that's the band saw. And so it's actually he has. It's so big that he's dug out about two feet into the ground to lower this into the ground and it still another ten feet up. So the table can be a kind of working height. It's incr-. Credibly, massive and totally cool, but a lot of fun to play with. That's crazy. That's that sounds really cool though. Days out there that was it was it was a lot of fun. And if anyone likes anything with boats or woodworking or history, it is a phenomenal channel and at eight he is exploding. He's only been on there for about a year and he's like, eighty thousand subscribers ready. So his average views are hundred thousand or more. That's crazy. I was. I did my patriot Skype Burr Google hangouts thing Esther day, and you guys know Johnny bilges..

"Actually designed modified it, but it's a keyed. It's almost like like an axle would ride in a in a bushing, but it's just the three printed film. The l. Filat wants to plastic. It's not the, there's no, yeah. There's no actual baron, but it seems to work fine. But you, I guess you could design it where there would be a bearing press fit bearing inside of a, you know. So how hard is that film it? Right. That's. Like how sure there's types that you can get, but is it layers. There's still like Super Bowl or I'm sure wherever I just answer my question probably though I'm working with PLA which is poly lactic acid, which is recycled recycled stuff. And the benefits of Pila is easy to print and doesn't smell too bad. When you're printing. Basically, you're descending plastic through a heated extruder melting plastic laying down on a plate and then building on that, and it hardens as it cools, it's great. So the Piel doesn't smell. But if being an ABS which is harder, but it smells like awful. I don't know when you're a kid. This is probably a very specific thing that I did. I don't know all kids do this, but I did it where I had my desk. I had a lamp in my bedroom, you know, an incidental light, and I'd take my action figures in like reshape the like if I had, you know, a human and his sword, like I would reshape his sword by melting it on the light bulb and like to pretty pretty clever. Yeah, used to do similar things. Films slope lacks wax carvings with that. Yeah. Okay. But if you've ever smelled Nolting ABS plastic than than you know the smell, but peel doesn't smell that bed. Depends on you can set your infill percentage if you want to something to prototype. It doesn't need to be super strong. You can do like eight, eight percent infil where it's just, you know, like a super light. It's not laying down that much film it for like the. Yeah, exactly. That's yeah. So do you want to go big? Can you print with that thing? Three hundred mil by three hundred mil by four hundred mil about twelve by twelve by fifteen. That's pretty big. The only thing I think of like would be a for like molding wax casting or something. Yeah. Cool. I'm I'm thinking about using it to make knife templates to design a knife in CAD and changed angles directions and shapes of things, and then I can pronounce, you know, just like templates late over the steel and then trace the inside of it with the Harvey. That's exactly what I'm using my ex car for like in one of my next videos this, it's it's very similar..

"Live every normally every Thursday at ten a. m. eastern time though, yet last week in this week, recording Wednesday, due to flights. Speaking of which what you got going on that I am going to Cincinnati tomorrow. My my wife's sister's getting married. So no, let's see what I've been doing. I always have to think about it. I don't know if that means I have to have like memory problems when I get older because I already Adam, oh, forging stuff. So. Of course, my dogs gone crazy background. I'll let you guys go all on myself. All eat my bacon. Settled down by the time. It comes back around to me. I, I just want to say, I really impress James. I tried to like totally trip up your intro spiel and. You just kept rolling with it and he didn't lose your train of thought and Bravo, sir. Impressive. No. So I'm actually actually getting concrete poured like as we speak link the concrete truck, the second, the second concrete truck, actually the fourth, the second polar started today. First truck rolled up at seven. Forty five this morning, and. Yeah, so that's super exciting. You'll finally stop hearing me talk about, you know, pouring concrete all that jazz, but actually exciting. That means that I can get started on building the actual structure. Start framing walls. Hopefully this thing under roof before it gets too cold. But to be honest, I don't know if that's going to happen or not. What else? Oh, I just wouldn't take a look at some built in cabinets. For a job. They're renovating a house in the built in cabinets at. I'm really excited about this one because I just have to build a cabinet boxes in the face frames and hinges in and endorse and stuff like that. But I don't have to finish it. I don't have. It's going to be painted that have to paint it. I just need to build the thing and I don't have to do the thing that I dislike, which is painting. So you make India? Yeah, right now, no. Making them out of a Birch three quarter inch plywood, and with the poplar, I think poplar poplar face frames and doors because poplar takes paint really well. I might go maple, but I don't know. I haven't decided depends on the price of maple. I've been having a lot of fun with my three d. printer I am. I print everything now I have at like, I'll just print it. So I. I just made a to access swiveling gamble colder for my tractor. So I don't know if you guys are seen like the boat Cup holders that on an axis, their gamble, this is a to excess Guimba. Also, your drink doesn't spill when you're on. Inclines are rocky terrain it, it stays can level that was super, super cool. How do you? How do the bearing the the moving, like ball and socket or whatever? Has that work on their? Yes. This was a twin bead designed it on fingers or he designed it in, you know, whatever his CAD software was, but then uploaded it to verse which is a place where you can upload three d printing designs, and then it's like an open source breaking down people's designs that he.
